- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listen Saints kf I AM six forty. The bill
- 0:03Speaker 1: handles show on demand on the iHeartRadio f kf I
- 0:09Speaker 1: AM six forty bill handle here. It is a Thursday morning,
- 0:14Speaker 1: August sixth oh Man. A lot going on to say.
- 0:18Speaker 1: The least big story is Abdul al said. Now the
- 0:25Speaker 1: front runner are now the Democratic nominee for the Senate
- 0:28Speaker 1: seat in Michigan. Huge story because this is he is
- 0:33Speaker 1: very left wing, very much a progressive, and now it
- 0:37Speaker 1: looks like the party, the Democratic Party is splitting, and
- 0:40Speaker 1: how influential going to be the progressive It reminds me
- 0:45Speaker 1: of George McGovern running against Richard Nixon in nineteen seventy
- 0:49Speaker 1: two when the liberal progressive part of the party put
- 0:54Speaker 1: George McGovern in there and it didn't work out so well.
- 0:58Speaker 1: Nixon won every single electoral vote but Massachusetts, every single state,
- 1:04Speaker 1: it was forty nine to one. So we'll see what
- 1:07Speaker 1: happens in the general election. Not good news, I think
- 1:10Speaker 1: for the Democrats in terms of winning the seat. Just saying, okay,
- 1:15Speaker 1: now what happened yesterday and what happened this morning. The
- 1:22Speaker 1: committee that was questioning Anthony Fauci has voted and What
- 1:28Speaker 1: a shocker to hold him in contempt of Congress for
- 1:33Speaker 1: failure to answer the questions that the Republicans have asked me.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Fauci took the fifth over one hundred times and it
- 1:43Speaker 1: was well, let me give you a little backstory. There's
- 1:47Speaker 1: been a lot of controversy regarding the way doctor Fauci
- 1:51Speaker 1: ran the government's response to the pandemic. He was really conservative,
- 1:56Speaker 1: I mean saying kids should not go to school, and
- 2:01Speaker 1: there should be a lot of remote intercourse, social intercourse
- 2:07Speaker 1: as well as working. Everybody keeps separate, and the masking
- 2:11Speaker 1: and vaccine mandates, just all of it. And it turned
- 2:16Speaker 1: out that it didn't have to be that way, kids
- 2:19Speaker 1: going to school and losing a year's worth of education,
- 2:23Speaker 1: and it turns out kids had tremendous resilience to the
- 2:28Speaker 1: to the pandemic, to the virus. Okay, So Fauci has
- 2:32Speaker 1: been hit pretty hard by this and the accusations. And
- 2:35Speaker 1: the big one is where did that virus come from?
- 2:39Speaker 1: And there are two schools of thought. One is that
- 2:42Speaker 1: it came from the meat market, that wet market in Wuhan,
- 2:48Speaker 1: and the other one is it came out of a
- 2:50Speaker 1: lab in Wuhan. And it either accidentally came out of
- 2:54Speaker 1: that lab or purposely came out of that lab in China.
- 2:58Speaker 1: And so the conspira folks or the pro conspiracy folks
- 3:02Speaker 1: insist that it was China that had nothing to do
- 3:04Speaker 1: with that wet market. Fauci said, it's the wet market,
- 3:07Speaker 1: and most scientists agree that it was most but there
- 3:10Speaker 1: were plenty that didn't. Okay. So with that being said,
- 3:13Speaker 1: what happens Investigating what doctor Fauchi was about. They find
- 3:18Speaker 1: out through his entries into his diary that he actually
- 3:23Speaker 1: had some doubts as to where that virus came from,
- 3:28Speaker 1: and he said there is some evidence that it came
- 3:32Speaker 1: from the lab and not from the market. And that's
- 3:35Speaker 1: pretty important because if it came from the lab, the
- 3:38Speaker 1: United States government actually funded part of that lab, and
- 3:41Speaker 1: that was a huge deal. And actually there's not a
- 3:44Speaker 1: huge story on that one because it was one of
- 3:47Speaker 1: the scientists that was funded by the US government, by
- 3:50Speaker 1: the NIH And that happens all over the world, and
- 3:53Speaker 1: it's been going on for years when scientists are work
- 3:57Speaker 1: in conjunction with other scientists and their lab overseas, and
- 4:00Speaker 1: it's been happening with China forever. So that in and
- 4:04Speaker 1: of itself is not a big story. Okay, So now
- 4:08Speaker 1: here we go. He is in front of this committee,
- 4:13Speaker 1: the Senate committee, and he said that it was rand Paul,
- 4:20Speaker 1: who in fact was chair of the committee, was out
- 4:22Speaker 1: to get him. Paranoia, right, Rand Paul has said over
- 4:27Speaker 1: and over again Fauci should be in jail, he should
- 4:31Speaker 1: be behind bars. Fauci and his opening statement said, that's
- 4:35Speaker 1: all this is about. You are questioning me just so
- 4:39Speaker 1: you can get anything I say that will tag me
- 4:43Speaker 1: with perjury, any mistaken comment. I've already been twenty one
- 4:47Speaker 1: hours in front of committees, and you're trying to get
- 4:50Speaker 1: me for the smallest possible contradiction. And that's what the
- 4:55Speaker 1: government does. So let's talk about these committee hearings for
- 4:58Speaker 1: a moment. We are a complete fiasco. These are quote
- 5:03Speaker 1: investigative committees, which are anything other than investigative. You know,
- 5:07Speaker 1: these committees have investigators, all of them do. And what
- 5:11Speaker 1: they do is the investigators are tasks with going out
- 5:15Speaker 1: and getting to the bottom of whatever controversy or point
- 5:20Speaker 1: that the committee wants to find out. For example, in
- 5:22Speaker 1: this case, let's go through the diaries. Let's find out
- 5:25Speaker 1: what's going on. Oh no, no, no, no, Well they
- 5:27Speaker 1: did that. But in addition, let's get Fauci in front
- 5:30Speaker 1: of us, and it's going to be a televised hearing,
- 5:33Speaker 1: so we know that it's going to be a lot
- 5:35Speaker 1: of publicity, and let's see if we can nail them.
- 5:38Speaker 1: Have you noticed that whenever you hear of these committees,
- 5:42Speaker 1: it is about ninety percent the legislator doing a DIA tribe,
- 5:50Speaker 1: either a anti DIA tribe with whatever agency is being represented,
- 5:56Speaker 1: whatever the witness is being questioned about. It's either you
- 6:01Speaker 1: are the greatest, you are the best thing that ever
- 6:03Speaker 1: happened to the United States. We all should be very
- 6:06Speaker 1: grateful to you. That's a Democrat talking to someone appointed
- 6:12Speaker 1: by the Democrats or a liberal within government. Now you
- 6:17Speaker 1: are a thief, You are a horrible human being, doctor Fauci.
- 6:22Speaker 1: You are a liar. That's the Republican side of it,
- 6:27Speaker 1: and that's what you get. And let's not forget it's
- 6:30Speaker 1: ninety percent diatribe. They just talk and talk. If it's Republicans, literally,
- 6:36Speaker 1: it's how great the president is and how great the
- 6:38Speaker 1: administration is, and then throw some softball questions if it's
- 6:42Speaker 1: someone conservative on the other side or an appointee of
- 6:45Speaker 1: the president, and it goes the other way. Of course
- 6:48Speaker 1: when it and by both sides do this, it's all ridiculous.
- 6:51Speaker 1: There's nothing investigative about it. It's fifteen minutes of fame.
- 6:55Speaker 1: It's getting your face in front of the TV cameras
- 6:58Speaker 1: and that's all this is. And it's a waste of time.
- 7:01Speaker 1: It is strictly to embarrass who's ever in front of
- 7:05Speaker 1: the committee. It is hopefully to toss that person in jail,
- 7:09Speaker 1: find some contradiction. And Fauci took the Fifth over one
- 7:13Speaker 1: hundred times. Now he could have said I'm going to
- 7:17Speaker 1: take the Fifth no matter what question you asked me,
- 7:21Speaker 1: and okay, conversation over, oh no, no, no, let's go
- 7:25Speaker 1: through every single possible question. So we're forcing you to
- 7:29Speaker 1: take the Fifth over one hundred times, over hours. Fauci
- 7:34Speaker 1: took the Fifth Amendment, took the Fifth Amendment protection over
- 7:38Speaker 1: one hundred times. And one of the Republicans, it was
- 7:41Speaker 1: Josh Holly, screaming at him, saying, we all know when
- 7:45Speaker 1: you take the Fifth you're admitting guilt. You are guilty,
- 7:49Speaker 1: just straight out and that's absolutely not true. If I
- 7:54Speaker 1: was Fauci's lawyer, I would say the same thing, you
- 7:56Speaker 1: take the fifth because all they want to do is
- 7:59Speaker 1: tag you are not interested in investigating anything. And so
- 8:04Speaker 1: he said, okay, So how does this contempt hearing take place? Well,
- 8:09Speaker 1: the argument is his statement that he made. Every witness
- 8:12Speaker 1: gets to make a statement before the questioning starts. The
- 8:15Speaker 1: argument is, was his statement a waiver of the fifth Amendment?
- 8:22Speaker 1: A quick word about the law. If a witness answers
- 8:25Speaker 1: one question, he's waived the Fifth Amendment? Which is why
- 8:31Speaker 1: I think it was Josh Holly saying what color tie
- 8:33Speaker 1: are you wearing? I respectfully take the Fifth Amendment? What
- 8:38Speaker 1: time is it? I respectfully take the fifth Amendment? Because
- 8:42Speaker 1: he can't answer because then he waves the fifth Amendment.
- 8:44Speaker 1: So here's Josh Holly embarrassing him. Just the whole thing
- 8:48Speaker 1: is a fiasco. And so now the vote was because
- 8:52Speaker 1: he refuse to answer questions? Is that he that he's
- 8:58Speaker 1: being was in the vote was that he's in contempt
- 9:01Speaker 1: of Congress, which means it is going to be turned
- 9:03Speaker 1: over to the Justice Department almost immediately. And you think
- 9:05Speaker 1: the Justice Department is going to go forward with the
- 9:08Speaker 1: case against him for failure or contempt of Congress. Of course,
- 9:13Speaker 1: of course they are. This is all political. This is
- 9:15Speaker 1: nothing to do with figuring out what happened. Nothing, and
- 9:19Speaker 1: so Fauci is now in another battle, and this one
- 9:22Speaker 1: fighting is contempt of Congress. Keep in mind also that
- 9:28Speaker 1: he has been pardoned, preemptively pardoned by President Biden, which
- 9:33Speaker 1: can be done, and that is exactly what happened, saying
- 9:37Speaker 1: he has pardoned for anything he did, anything, even if
- 9:42Speaker 1: it don't specify it, anything relating to the pandemic. He
- 9:46Speaker 1: has pardoned for his actions. That's what Biden did. Okay,
- 9:50Speaker 1: there is a story that was the Washington Post broke
- 9:55Speaker 1: this story that there are fifteen companies with the investment
- 10:01Speaker 1: from President Trump's sons, and these fifteen companies have gotten
- 10:05Speaker 1: three point two billion dollars in federal contracts, federal investments, loans,
- 10:12Speaker 1: the vast majority coming after the president took office for
- 10:15Speaker 1: the second time. And so there's a letter from Senator
- 10:18Speaker 1: Elizabeth Warren, Shocker, Richard Blumenthal, Tammy Duckworth. These are senators
- 10:23Speaker 1: represented Robert Garcia, all Democrats, asking for an inquiry into
- 10:28Speaker 1: these contracts that are affiliated with two sons, Eric and
- 10:33Speaker 1: Donald Trump Junior. And excluding SpaceX and Anderill two companies,
- 10:41Speaker 1: these fifteen companies have gained more than three times the
- 10:45Speaker 1: number of government contracts than they did before the president
- 10:49Speaker 1: second son now second term. Now you know, I've got
- 10:53Speaker 1: a question about this, and that is when is too
- 10:55Speaker 1: much too much? You know, the president has made over
- 10:59Speaker 1: two billion dollars he and his family since he became
- 11:04Speaker 1: he started his second term. He did not put his
- 11:08Speaker 1: holdings into a blind trust. He put his holdings into
- 11:12Speaker 1: a trust controlled by his sons. And he has nothing
- 11:17Speaker 1: to do with it. He said. He doesn't talk to
- 11:19Speaker 1: them about it, He doesn't call anybody. He doesn't pay
- 11:21Speaker 1: attention to investments at all. Donald Trump does not pay
- 11:25Speaker 1: attention to anything financial. And I guess there's no limit.
- 11:31Speaker 1: The president is using the presidency as his personal piggy pink.
- 11:35Speaker 1: It's that simple. And Republicans are not offended by this,
- 11:39Speaker 1: not in a little bit. Can you imagine if a
- 11:42Speaker 1: Democrat did this, I mean, the uproar would be incredible.
- 11:48Speaker 1: I mean, is there a limit at all? So he's
- 11:50Speaker 1: made two billion dollars, What if he made ten billion
- 11:53Speaker 1: dollars in his presidency? Twenty billion dollars? Is there a limit?
- 11:58Speaker 1: Is there a line? No, no, there is not. The
- 12:03Speaker 1: White House spokesperson said, there are no conflicts of interest.
- 12:09Speaker 1: And this is the same tired narrative that Democrats have
- 12:12Speaker 1: pushed against the president and his administration for a decade,
- 12:16Speaker 1: and it is here. Is what the sons say is
- 12:21Speaker 1: that they are passive investors. You know, I'll buy that.
- 12:24Speaker 1: They have nothing to do with the management. They're not
- 12:27Speaker 1: on the board of anything. Okay, you know, I don't
- 12:30Speaker 1: doubt that. But do these companies do they know that
- 12:36Speaker 1: the Trump's sons are part of the investment pool? Does
- 12:39Speaker 1: the government know that the sons have invested in these companies?
- 12:44Speaker 1: And interesting that these companies have gotten more contracts than
- 12:51Speaker 1: any other companies other than Space accidentill they have exploded
- 12:58Speaker 1: and have made ane. Remember the crypto business that's where
- 13:03Speaker 1: Trump made over a billion dollars the family. Remember those
- 13:08Speaker 1: crazy ass Trump coins that's in the hundreds of millions
- 13:13Speaker 1: of dollars. I mean, people are nuts and you can't
- 13:17Speaker 1: use them for anything. I don't understand it. For the
- 13:23Speaker 1: life of me, I don't understand it. I know what
- 13:25Speaker 1: am I missing here? What am I missing? When I
- 13:29Speaker 1: actually thought that the presidency was not to make as
- 13:33Speaker 1: much money as possible or part of it. All right,
- 13:39Speaker 1: So just you know, I could go on and on,
- 13:41Speaker 1: but I'm not going to go on and on because
- 13:44Speaker 1: you know, I get all pissed off. Oh and by
- 13:46Speaker 1: the way, I know that I get a lot of
- 13:48Speaker 1: hassle about about being anti Trump. But for those of
- 13:54Speaker 1: you that are portrait for Trump in favor of Donald Trump,
- 13:59Speaker 1: and let me ask you a question, I'd love for
- 14:01Speaker 1: you to answer it. Do you have any problem with
- 14:05Speaker 1: the president making billions of dollars during his presidency and
- 14:10Speaker 1: he was anti crypto until he and his son started
- 14:13Speaker 1: where they started a crypto company and the president went
- 14:18Speaker 1: the other way. Okay, crypto is good. That's an official position.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Isn't he just making money from his fame? It's not
- 14:28Speaker 2: what he's doing underhanded deals.
- 14:29Speaker 1: I mean, maybe he is, Well how about the how
- 14:31Speaker 1: about the contracts? They're not underhanded, they're just straight out
- 14:35Speaker 1: in the open. Hey, this is he's himself, that's correct,
- 14:40Speaker 1: But it is a he's using the presidency and you
- 14:44Speaker 1: know at some point his public service have anything to
- 14:46Speaker 1: do with it. And then the White House comes back
- 14:48Speaker 1: and says, this is all a bunch of crap. The
- 14:51Speaker 1: president puts the country above everything. It's no. Making money
- 14:55Speaker 1: is pretty important to the president for him and his family.
- 14:58Speaker 1: It's an and the issue of the deal he cut
- 15:02Speaker 1: himself where it's gross. But yeah, oh no, the court
- 15:08Speaker 1: and you know, the court said that it's that this
- 15:12Speaker 1: is wrong, but it doesn't matter. Executive the executive privilege
- 15:16Speaker 1: goes through and it's I gotta tell you, I'm offended.
- 15:20Speaker 1: I'm offended. Is it legal? Yeah, I think it is legal.
- 15:23Speaker 1: I mean is he going to go to jail? Is
- 15:24Speaker 1: going to impeach? No? Are the Sun's going to be charged? No?
- 15:29Speaker 1: But you remember when Hunter Biden sat on the board
- 15:34Speaker 1: of Barisma and he got five hundred thousand dollars a
- 15:36Speaker 1: year from Borisma being the gas company, the official governmental
- 15:41Speaker 1: gas company of Ukraine. Five hundred thousand dollars a year,
- 15:44Speaker 1: got nailed for it. He should go to jail. Let's
- 15:47Speaker 1: do an investigation. This is theft. Half a million dollars
- 15:52Speaker 1: a year, not billions. Half a million dollars a year.
- 15:56Speaker 1: By the way, sleezball, Oh you bet, oh you it
- 16:00Speaker 1: was sleazy because.
- 16:02Speaker 2: That a little doesn't that doesn't that look like using
- 16:09Speaker 2: the presidency? Yes? Yes, No, it doesn't look like it is.
- 16:13Speaker 2: It is using the presidency.
- 16:17Speaker 1: But why is it that Hunter Biden should go to Jao,
- 16:20Speaker 1: go to prison for doing this, but the Trump sons
- 16:23Speaker 1: should not. There's no conflict with the president and the
- 16:26Speaker 1: Trump sons chochkes to fans. Uh they are. I'm not
- 16:31Speaker 1: arguing that it's not you know, doing illegal shady thing. No,
- 16:35Speaker 1: it's not I doing that. I am simply saying that
- 16:40Speaker 1: at some point there is a limit. That's all. That's
- 16:42Speaker 1: all I'm saying. All right, get out of here, Neil.
- 16:45Speaker 2: A quick word about the Dodgers, of course, your official
- 16:49Speaker 2: home for Dodgers Baseball is a M five seventy LA Sports.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Tomorrow night, you're back to back world champion Dodgers take
- 16:57Speaker 2: on the Diamondbacks in Arizona, with first pitch at six forty.
- 17:02Speaker 2: Listen on A five seventy LA Sports and stream on
- 17:05Speaker 2: the iHeartRadio app live from the Kalvin Ford Broadcast Booth.
- 17:10Speaker 1: Now, a story in the Atlantic about BMW's and I
- 17:15Speaker 1: just I had one, got rid of it. I leased
- 17:20Speaker 1: that one. My lease is over, so I picked up
- 17:22Speaker 1: Alexis Actually and I didn't know this, but then again,
- 17:26Speaker 1: I had a BMW that well, I don't understand the
- 17:30Speaker 1: technology of it at all. I never used ninety nine
- 17:33Speaker 1: percent of the technology. But here's what's going on. You
- 17:37Speaker 1: tap on the screen, the touchscreen, and you can play
- 17:41Speaker 1: Pac Man. You can let the car park itself. I
- 17:44Speaker 1: mean all of that. Last week BMW added a new feature.
- 17:49Speaker 1: You start up the car and you are greeted with
- 17:52Speaker 1: the following message Spider Man. Oh surprise, Spider Man just
- 17:56Speaker 1: dropped on your BMW and ad for the new Spider
- 17:59Speaker 1: Man move. You click on the prompt appears in most
- 18:03Speaker 1: BMW's after twenty twenty. The screen is taken over by
- 18:07Speaker 1: a commercial for the new Spider Man movie, and it's
- 18:11Speaker 1: accompanied by blinking lights inside the car. Now, you can
- 18:14Speaker 1: choose to skip the ad. Now, but it's an app.
- 18:19Speaker 1: You touch the screen and there it comes up. And
- 18:23Speaker 1: drivers are not thrilled by this uninvited pitch. In an email,
- 18:28Speaker 1: BMW spokesman said that the ad is part of a
- 18:31Speaker 1: broader partnership between BMW and Marvel. Really now, the animation
- 18:40Speaker 1: is available for only a limited time. It's a pilot program. Yeah,
- 18:43Speaker 1: tell me that's not going to go on. It's Stilantis,
- 18:48Speaker 1: which makes Dodge and Jeep has attempted in car advertising
- 18:53Speaker 1: before in the US, but never a luxury brand like BMW.
- 18:57Speaker 1: And believe me, your car is next. Because, to use
- 19:02Speaker 1: a cliche that's used over and over again, cars are
- 19:05Speaker 1: becoming smartphones on wheels, and anything involving the Internet, I
- 19:11Speaker 1: don't care what it is, involves pop up ads. Pop
- 19:17Speaker 1: Up ads have become part and parcel of the Internet.
- 19:19Speaker 1: If you search anything automatically, the algorithm reads what you're searching,
- 19:27Speaker 1: and every ad in the world comes up. Look for
- 19:29Speaker 1: a new couch. All of a sudden, you'll get furniture
- 19:32Speaker 1: stores within your geographical area giving you sales for couches
- 19:37Speaker 1: and please come in. If you look at a pizza
- 19:41Speaker 1: just you know, Domino's Pizza, right you're looking at You're
- 19:44Speaker 1: just doing a search seeing you know what kind of
- 19:47Speaker 1: pizzas they offer, boom the ads. The pop ups come
- 19:50Speaker 1: in like crazy. So in car advertisements are obviously coming next.
- 19:56Speaker 1: And here is the problem. You're already spending money. For example,
- 20:01Speaker 1: on Star communications system Tesla, drivers pay ten dollars a
- 20:07Speaker 1: month for premium connectivity to access Spotify or Netflix through
- 20:13Speaker 1: the touchscreen. And you're already paying for those services outside
- 20:17Speaker 1: the car. Right, I have Spotify, I have Serious Radio.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Serious Radio costs me probably two hundred and thirty dollars
- 20:26Speaker 1: a month. And can you imagine paying an additional fee
- 20:33Speaker 1: listening to Serious on your car on your smartphone, especially
- 20:38Speaker 1: through your car. I mean, it is crazy. And why
- 20:42Speaker 1: are they doing that? Well, here's the reason, and it
- 20:46Speaker 1: makes sense. The Atlantic carried an article by this car experts.
- 20:52Speaker 1: New car prices have reached an average of nearly fifty
- 20:55Speaker 1: thousand dollars, and Americans are close to reaching the breaking point.
- 21:00Speaker 1: Auto companies tariffs, Chinese competition, are there even computer memories shortages?
- 21:09Speaker 1: So they're paying a whole lot more money the car
- 21:11Speaker 1: manufacturer for the chips. So let's figure out a way
- 21:16Speaker 1: to try to keep the prices as low as possible
- 21:19Speaker 1: with cars if you can imagine as low as possible
- 21:22Speaker 1: the cost of cars today, and to do that is ads.
- 21:27Speaker 1: We sell ads, and here they come on your screen
- 21:31Speaker 1: in your car, and you get to pay for the
- 21:35Speaker 1: privilege of that. I mean, you know, we've reached the
- 21:39Speaker 1: point where it's doesn't matter what, who where when you're
- 21:44Speaker 1: going to get ads. Remember the Internet, when it first started,
- 21:47Speaker 1: there were no ads. Do you remember movie theaters were
- 21:51Speaker 1: the only ads you ever got, or I ever got.
- 21:54Speaker 1: When I started watching movies when I was a kid,
- 21:57Speaker 1: was for the La Times. That was the partnership. Is
- 22:00Speaker 1: the La Times gave movies advertising, movies gave La Time advertising.
- 22:05Speaker 1: And now you have thirty minutes of commercials before the
- 22:08Speaker 1: movie starts. Next step midway through the movie, you'll get commercials. Well,
- 22:15Speaker 1: listen to a podcast today. I mean, one of the
- 22:18Speaker 1: reasons people love podcasts is commercial free. And then okay,
- 22:23Speaker 1: you got a commercial at the beginning and the end
- 22:25Speaker 1: of the podcast. Now they're breaking it up like a broadcast.
- 22:31Speaker 1: And the fastest growing subscription TV platforms are free if
- 22:38Speaker 1: you listen to a bunch of ads. And when Netflix
- 22:44Speaker 1: went and started commercials on the Netflix platform, and I
- 22:51Speaker 1: got Netflix because there were no commercials, And now the
- 22:56Speaker 1: premium I pay and it is expensive. It used to
- 22:58Speaker 1: be five six bucks a month. Huh. Okay, maybe just
- 23:04Speaker 1: watch a movie on Netflix that works. You know, I
- 23:08Speaker 1: was gonna drive itself. It's gonna get in a car
- 23:10Speaker 1: accident by itself because the other driver is also going
- 23:12Speaker 1: to be watching a movie and the car is gonna
- 23:15Speaker 1: go off by itself. And you're it's gonna some glitch
- 23:17Speaker 1: is gonna happen and you're gonna die. All right, So
- 23:19Speaker 1: it's not the end of the world. I mean, there's
- 23:21Speaker 1: always a silver lining somewhere there. Okay. Now, let me
- 23:28Speaker 1: tell you a story quickly about one of Lindsay's best friends,
- 23:34Speaker 1: her son l Salvadoran who married to an American citizen
- 23:41Speaker 1: application for green car pending, was on his way to
- 23:46Speaker 1: and he was a photographer, is a photographer on his
- 23:49Speaker 1: way to matter of fact, Texas for a job. And
- 23:54Speaker 1: so he is at the airport. He is at the
- 23:57Speaker 1: TSA checkpoint they would you please go over there, and
- 24:02Speaker 1: goes into an office and there's the TSA agent arresting
- 24:05Speaker 1: him and they deport him. He lives in El Salvador
- 24:08Speaker 1: and his wife and his family are there because he
- 24:11Speaker 1: just can't come back. What airlines are doing here? They're
- 24:14Speaker 1: getting a little pissed off at ICE because ICE is
- 24:18Speaker 1: literally picking up people in the skyway on the way
- 24:22Speaker 1: to the airplane, on the way to the door. Now,
- 24:28Speaker 1: ICE is having a bad rap because, oh, I don't know,
- 24:31Speaker 1: they use people for target practice occasionally, and that has
- 24:35Speaker 1: gotten American citizens, the electorate a little angry. You know,
- 24:39Speaker 1: Trump got elected on his anti immigration platform, and I've
- 24:45Speaker 1: never understood why people are so angry at immigrants coming in.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Illegal immigrants. They don't get any benefits. They pay taxes
- 24:54Speaker 1: and they don't get anything back, so they have to
- 24:57Speaker 1: come up with some fake social Security number and so
- 25:00Speaker 1: it goes to the government, and the government just keeps
- 25:02Speaker 1: the money. Jobs. When is the last time your job
- 25:08Speaker 1: was taken by an illegal immigrant? So I don't understand
- 25:13Speaker 1: how a big idea. I'm sorry, apparently a photographer who understood. Yeah. Yeah,
- 25:20Speaker 1: by the way, you gotta mute. I think it's an
- 25:24Speaker 1: and are you muting? No, No, I don't know who
- 25:26Speaker 1: it is in any case. Okay, but all right, I'll
- 25:31Speaker 1: buy that.
- 25:31Speaker 2: And you say they don't get benefits. How can you
- 25:34Speaker 2: say that with a straight face.
- 25:35Speaker 1: What kind of benefits do they get? School? Hospital? Not
- 25:39Speaker 1: hospital unless they're hospital the only hospital. I'll get it. School. Yeah,
- 25:44Speaker 1: school is a benefit. Okay, I'll take that one back.
- 25:47Speaker 1: But I'm talking.
- 25:47Speaker 2: About we need immigrants personally, but I think this is
- 25:51Speaker 2: a bad way to do it, and it is costly.
- 25:55Speaker 1: Yeah, it doesn't. And by the way, I do take
- 25:58Speaker 1: that back because You're right. School is free. Hospitals are
- 26:01Speaker 1: not unless you are too poor and you have absolutely
- 26:05Speaker 1: no money, and so you go to the hospital like
- 26:08Speaker 1: anybody else. I think they're paid crap and they're treated poorly.
- 26:12Speaker 1: And that's not the argument. The argument is how horrific
- 26:16Speaker 1: they are to the US, and I don't think they
- 26:19Speaker 1: are my opinion. And if they are horrific to the
- 26:24Speaker 1: US or negative, I think is a very small number,
- 26:26Speaker 1: and you can argue both sides at that coin. The
- 26:28Speaker 1: problem is, look, what ICE is doing is arresting people.
- 26:33Speaker 1: I mean, you know, at airports, at court when they
- 26:37Speaker 1: come in when they're arguing immigration matters, ICE agents are
- 26:42Speaker 1: waiting for them. And the reason all this is happening
- 26:45Speaker 1: because very quietly, do you know that the government is
- 26:49Speaker 1: still mandating two thousand arrests a day. ICE has to
- 26:54Speaker 1: come up with two thousand arrests a day, and they're
- 26:58Speaker 1: told by the administration you have to come up with
- 27:01Speaker 1: the arrests. And now they're pretty quiet about it. They're
- 27:06Speaker 1: certainly not shooting people anymore, and they're trying to keep
- 27:09Speaker 1: it as private as possible. You know, they're you're not
- 27:13Speaker 1: gonna be you don't see entire families being picked up
- 27:17Speaker 1: in uh out in the open where the video where
- 27:20Speaker 1: everybody is videoing it. But I think it's way too
- 27:24Speaker 1: big a deal being made. Uh, it's just not that
- 27:27Speaker 1: important relative to everything else. It's there are other things
- 27:31Speaker 1: that are more important in life. That's all there is
- 27:34Speaker 1: to it. For example, the reflecting pool, which is a
- 27:38Speaker 1: national issue of huge import It's just uh, it's well,
- 27:44Speaker 1: the war in Iran is second to the reflecting pool.
- 27:48Speaker 1: I get that, Okay. Neil is a dick. Okay, remember
- 27:54Speaker 1: that coming up? Uh, a offshoot of the Iran war.
- 28:02Speaker 1: And we haven't talked about that. If you're gonna take
- 28:05Speaker 1: a river cruise in Europe, you're gonna walk, And I'll
- 28:09Speaker 1: share what's going on with that as a result of
- 28:12Speaker 1: climate change, which doesn't exist. Kf I am six forty.
