• 0:10
Did you hear the latest news on gold and silver from Costco?
• 0:15
I guess they put out their earnings last week.
• 0:17
Let's go out there and what would it mean?
• 0:19
Let me ask you this, if the mainstream media really starts
• 0:23
to pick up on the gold story and the silver story, OK?
• 0:28
Because guys, remember, what does it mean to you when you
• 0:32
realize that this massive rally that we've had in the silver
• 0:37
market and the gold market over the last three to four months,
• 0:40
this massive big rally was done in the headwinds, right?
• 0:46
In, in the worst environment from a Western perspective, high
• 0:51
interest rates, right? A strong dollar and almost no
• 0:57
interest in precious metals in the Western countries.
• 1:00
ETF outflows, GLD, maybe that's why they're letting them buy the
• 1:04
GLD and the SLV money coming out of the ETFs, gold and silver.
• 1:10
  Stop. Think about this.
• 1:12
Is it? Does this does this computing
• 1:14
for you? Gold ran up to 2400, right Now
• 1:17
it's, well, you know, 2300 dollar, 2340, whatever it is per
• 1:22
oz. Silver's hugging $30 per oz.
• 1:26
It did that in the most difficult environment possible
• 1:30
for from a Western perspective, the richest country in the
• 1:34
world, the United States of America.
• 1:36
What does that mean? If things turn around a little
• 1:38
bit, what does it mean, right, if people start putting money
• 1:42
into SLV, putting money into GLV.
• 1:47
If the American public that's already been slapped across,
• 1:50
you've been slapped across the face with inflation, gets hit
• 1:54
with another wave of inflation and they get slapped the second
• 1:58
time. They're like, you know what?
• 2:00
You slapped me once. You aren't going to slap me that
• 2:03
bad again. I'm going to go buy some silver
• 2:05
or gold. What if the mainstream media
• 2:08
starts to pick up? What's the biggest when when you
• 2:10
think mainstream media in the United States?
• 2:13
You're probably around my age. I'm 54 years old, right?
• 2:16
We're young at heart, basement dwellers.
• 2:18
And by the way, I'm going to thank you again for being here.
• 2:20
And by the way, let's put up our banner to say thank you to our
• 2:25
sponsors and thank you to all you that have sent me ounces of
• 2:28
silver over the last couple years.
• 2:30
I was thinking about that last night.
• 2:31
  How nice. Nonetheless, we're brothers.
• 2:35
We're all around the same age ish, right?
• 2:38
What's mainstream media to you? To me, there's nothing more
• 2:41
mainstream than the NBC News. And what is their big story?
• 2:47
And it's not just NBC News, it's all over again the mainstream
• 2:51
  media. Costco, right?
• 2:54
Costco that is America, even though honestly I've never been
• 2:58
inside of a Costco been in a Sam's Club and an ALDI, but
• 3:01
nonetheless it is America. I'm a rebel.
• 3:04
Are you a rebel? Have you ever been in a Costco
• 3:06
anyway says gold buyers are helping drive up its online
• 3:11
sales. OK that's great that's awesome.
• 3:13
We love that. But this is what we want to pay
• 3:15
attention to NBC News AOL and there's some stuff in here that
• 3:19
is going to make your skin curl crawl crawl, crawl.
• 3:24
Anyway, the about about the mainstream financials of this is
• 3:29
and it's a great little nugget for a silver and gold investors.
• 3:32
The retailers e-commerce sales jumped 20% OK with growth quote
• 3:38
led by gold and silver bullions. They listed that first notice
• 3:43
that gift cards and appliances continuing a round of strong
• 3:46
demand for its precious metal products.
• 3:49
Hold on. I'm going to get a drink of
• 3:50
coffee and then you're going to you're you're going to get a
• 3:52
nugget and your skin's going to crawl.
• 3:59
OK, Think about this. e-commerce sales jumped by 20% and they're
• 4:05
listing gold and silver, and they're also saying it's because
• 4:08
of gift cards and appliances. Do you really think gift card
• 4:13
sales suddenly spiked out of the blue?
• 4:16
Why would that happen? OK, so it's not really gift
• 4:19
  cards, in my opinion. Appliances.
• 4:22
  Really. People are suddenly buying
• 4:24
appliances? Was there any catalyzing event
• 4:26
that would have caused people to buy 20% more appliances?
• 4:30
No, it's because of gold and silver.
• 4:33
It's because the people that shop at Costco.
• 4:35
  Maybe that's why I don't go there.
• 4:37
I think are pretty smart. Like my neighbors that go there
• 4:40
are usually like smart, educated people.
• 4:44
Costco made only a single terse mention of this is NBC.
• 4:48
This is mainstream precious metals in its latest earnings
• 4:51
call, but reinforced that analysts were on to something
• 4:55
when they flagged strong demand for the retailers gold bars and
• 4:59
silver coins this spring. OK, that's the the chief
• 5:03
financial officer I already kind of read that to you.
• 5:06
Remember Wells Fargo researchers estimated in early April that
• 5:10
members only retailer had been pulling in between 100 million
• 5:14
and 200 million in monthly revenue from the products.
• 5:18
This is silver and gold after rolling them out last summer.
• 5:22
OK, by December, Costco said it was already selling over 100
• 5:27
million in gold bars within the space of 1/4 and sometimes
• 5:31
running out in just hours. These are probably new stackers,
• 5:35
new people coming into precious metals.
• 5:39
Eventually they'll wise up and they'll start buying more and
• 5:43
more, right? And they'll go to places like
• 5:45
Pembek's, right? They'll go to the big online
• 5:47
bullion dealers. Excuse me when they realize that
• 5:51
they want to work with specialists when they're buying.
• 5:53
Now, let's talk about, let's say here, here's this.
• 5:56
I want to point this out. NBC News says the gold rush is
• 6:00
the latest sign that some consumers remain hot on
• 6:03
perceived safe investments. Now, this is the this is where
• 6:06
your skin crawls. This is where your skin crawls.
• 6:09
And there's a little bit of a nugget in here, OK, Lee Baker,
• 6:15
they got, they're talking to this guy named Lee Baker.
• 6:17
Lee's the founder of the planning firm Apex Financial
• 6:21
Services and president of the AARP of Georgia.
• 6:24
All right, listen to what he says here.
• 6:28
Couple things he mentions. He says, I haven't had a single
• 6:31
client ask me about buying gold. Baker conceded.
• 6:36
Now, this is what gets me. This is what keeps the skin
• 6:39
crawling, OK? And there's two things that we
• 6:41
need to consider when we're when we're thinking about this.
• 6:45
Unlike other assets, they say this all the time about precious
• 6:49
metals don't produce any cash flow through yields or interest.
• 6:55
No, they just go up in value and protect you against inflation.
• 7:00
No, number one, right, OK. Number one, they don't produce
• 7:05
cash flow, of course, right, or a yield or anything else.
• 7:09
But they also, Lee, don't have any counterparty risk if you
• 7:13
hold that gold, if you hold that silver, which all these Costco
• 7:17
people are starting to realize, you don't have to rely on
• 7:20
anybody else or anything to provide you with the value,
• 7:25
right? There's no promise, There's no
• 7:26
contract. If you hold it in your hand, you
• 7:29
own it. So number one, I get sick of
• 7:32
hearing these people say this. Oh, it doesn't produce any cash
• 7:35
  flow. It doesn't, whatever.
• 7:37
The other thing I'll say to Lee is this, the other thing that
• 7:42
gold and silver don't do, and you got to realize this, this
• 7:45
mainstream financial services industry is powerful, right?
• 7:50
And they'll always say stuff like this.
• 7:52
But what do you think it means if you consider the fact that
• 7:55
the other thing that gold and silver don't do or provide
• 7:59
people that are in the financial services industry with any type
• 8:03
  of recurring Commission, excuse me?
• 8:07
Because when they put you into a mutual fund or they put you
• 8:10
into, into any other number of, of, of, of quote UN quote
• 8:14
investments, they make a recurring Commission year after
• 8:18
year after year on the money you have.
• 8:21
And, and many, many times in those investments, gold and they
• 8:24
don't, one of the reasons they don't like gold and silver,
• 8:27
right? And they will, they'll probably
• 8:29
come up with some tricky way to trick the public.
• 8:31
They won't trick you. You won't fall for it 'cause
• 8:33
I'll point it out to you when it happens, but there's no real
• 8:37
investment option available for the financial services industry
• 8:41
that allows them to milk the general public.
• 8:44
OK, so they're always going to say, oh, gold and silver, you
• 8:47
need to put your money into into the stock market.
• 8:51
You need to put your money into, excuse me, into a bond fund or
• 8:56
something where I can make a recurring Commission off you.
• 9:00
So very interesting, very exciting though the also
• 9:05
regarding this is the fact that the mainstream media, NBC
• 9:09
starting to pick up for us on the gold and silver movement.
