- 1:12SPEAKER_13: Everybody who loves the big orange knows that.
- 1:14SPEAKER_13: So we're gonna open this show with head football coach Josh Heipel, courtesy of Calhoun.
- 1:20SPEAKER_13: Josh Heipel, what does Tennessee Alabama mean to you?
- 1:25SPEAKER_05: Third Saturday in October.
- 1:27SPEAKER_05: Uh best day on the calendar year.
- 1:30SPEAKER_05: Um, year one.
- 1:32SPEAKER_05: I didn't know exactly what uh I was getting into.
- 1:35SPEAKER_05: Uh and uh have it's a great, great game.
- 1:39SPEAKER_05: Uh it's a special rivalry and uh looking forward to to going and playing Saturday afternoon.
- 1:45SPEAKER_13: You grew up a huge college football fan.
- 1:48SPEAKER_13: You understand a lot of the different traditions in many places in the country.
- 1:51SPEAKER_13: When did you become aware of Tennessee, Alabama?
- 1:54SPEAKER_05: I've known of Tennessee, Alabama from a long time.
- 1:56SPEAKER_05: Uh you know, when I was a kid uh watching games on on TV.
- 2:01SPEAKER_05: Uh but once you get into the rivalry and you feel the passion, the pageantry uh of the fan bases, uh, this is a uh a really special game inside the landscape of college football.
- 2:12SPEAKER_13: All right, back up for just a second.
- 2:14SPEAKER_13: Final thoughts on the Arkansas performance for your team.
- 2:17SPEAKER_05: Yeah, uh a lot of good.
- 2:18SPEAKER_05: Um I love how we finished the game.
- 2:21SPEAKER_05: Um we played smart, uh, played physical, uh, finished it in a great way.
- 2:25SPEAKER_05: Um elite competitive composure to continue to respond and go play.
- 2:30SPEAKER_05: Uh we have to start faster in the first half offensively.
- 2:33SPEAKER_05: Uh we can't uh change the way the game's played.
- 2:36SPEAKER_05: Um, you know, the the controllables before the snap, um, and some of uh uh post-snap, uh just uh assignment sound.
- 2:46SPEAKER_05: Um we have to start faster as a football team in the third quarter.
- 2:50SPEAKER_05: Um but uh the competitive makeup uh to go on the road, find a way to win.
- 2:54SPEAKER_05: Uh love that part of it.
- 2:55SPEAKER_13: I know you're not prepared to say who the starting quarterback is this week, but let me do ask, how did you evaluate after tape viewing George McIntyre's performance in Fayetteville?
- 3:04SPEAKER_05: Yeah, um collectively as a group, uh as an offensive unit, we got to do a better job taking care of the ball.
- 3:10SPEAKER_05: Um, but you look at George's performance, um, decisive with the football, going the right spot, uh, accurate, made some plays in the pocket.
- 3:18SPEAKER_05: Uh, there's some things that you know he's got to do better.
- 3:22SPEAKER_05: Um, but uh um a winning performance and uh a lot of good to uh to continue to grow on for him.
- 3:30SPEAKER_13: Is there a real hope that the 68-yard catch and the subsequent touchdown will give Deshaun Brahm that push that everybody sort of waited for because they like him so much, they're so excited about him.
- 3:42SPEAKER_13: And sometimes it just takes a second to become what you hope.
- 3:45SPEAKER_13: Yeah, we like him too.
- 3:46SPEAKER_13: I know.
- 3:46SPEAKER_05: Uh and uh it's a young player that uh has a lot of confidence because of the work that he's put into it.
- 3:52SPEAKER_05: Um we knew he would continue to grow uh as a football player.
- 3:56SPEAKER_05: The role with Ethan going down was gonna continue to grow.
- 3:59SPEAKER_05: Uh, I love the way that he played on Saturday.
- 4:02SPEAKER_05: Uh his best football is still in front of him.
- 4:04SPEAKER_05: Uh, excited uh for him to continue to chase that and make impacts for us uh as a football team.
- 4:10SPEAKER_13: Sorry to interrupt.
- 4:10SPEAKER_13: It's almost as if his improvement in blocking has given him more confidence as an overall player.
- 4:17SPEAKER_05: Absolutely.
- 4:18SPEAKER_05: Uh when you understand what's going on uh structurally uh in all parts of the game, uh, you know, from the routes, coverages that you're seeing, uh in the box protections, run game, understand structures, identifications, uh that all parlays itself into you being a much more confident player because you understand what's going on around you.
- 4:43SPEAKER_13: Rules question.
- 4:44SPEAKER_13: Uh, we were not able to see a full replay of the second quarter play on the deep throw to Staley where he was called for illegal touching.
- 4:52SPEAKER_13: So I guess what I'd want to know is where did he go out?
- 4:56SPEAKER_13: Where did that happen?
- 4:57SPEAKER_13: And what is the rule about that that would be applied in that situation?
- 5:01SPEAKER_05: Uh if you go out on your own, you can't be the first guy to touch the football.
- 5:05SPEAKER_05: If you're forced out, you got to immediately uh come back into the field to play.
- 5:09SPEAKER_05: Uh on the coach's cut, uh it's tough to tell truly if you went out of bounds or not.
- 5:15SPEAKER_05: You do see uh the back judge uh throw his hat uh immediately uh once the uh uh he thought he went out of bounds.
- 5:24SPEAKER_05: Uh so uh you know it's officials' decision.
- 5:27SPEAKER_13: Let's move forward to Alabama this week, and they just come off a game with Georgia.
- 5:32SPEAKER_13: It looked a lot like the last three games you have played in that it was very physical back and forth with the defenses kind of taking over later in the game.
- 5:41SPEAKER_13: What do you see from this Alabama team that may be different from, say, last year's Alabama team?
- 5:46SPEAKER_05: Uh I I think what they're doing up front uh on the offensive side of the football, uh much more efficient uh running the the football.
- 5:54SPEAKER_05: Um you combine that with the quarterback that's playing extremely well, efficient uh making plays down the football field, uh continuing, uh breaking uh plays that are broken down, escaping the pocket, uh doing that as a thrower first, but also has the ability to tuck it and create real yardage uh when he runs it.
- 6:12SPEAKER_05: Uh and then defensively, their ability to create turnovers, um, you know, I've gotten their hands on, I don't know, seven or eight picks uh already.
- 6:21SPEAKER_05: It might be nine.
- 6:22SPEAKER_05: Um, but uh they've uh they've created a lot of turnovers.
- 6:26SPEAKER_13: How much does it help you that your last three games have been kind of battle ball the way they have been going into an Alabama game?
- 6:34SPEAKER_13: With an Alabama team that seems to be maybe more physical than they were a year ago.
- 6:38SPEAKER_05: Yeah, uh in this league, uh typically they're gonna be tight contested fourth quarter games.
- 6:44SPEAKER_05: Uh I think for our football team continuing to grow, uh each of the games that we've played in is going to help us uh this week.
- 6:51SPEAKER_05: Uh we understand the type of team that we're getting ready to play.
- 6:55SPEAKER_05: Um they're big, strong, athletic.
- 6:57SPEAKER_05: Uh, they're playing physical, they're playing smart football.
- 7:00SPEAKER_05: Uh, it's gonna take us being at our best uh to go get a win on Saturday afternoon.
- 7:04SPEAKER_05: It is at Nealand Stadium.
- 7:05SPEAKER_05: Yeah, no doubt.
- 7:06SPEAKER_13: Coach Heipel's visits with us brought to you by Calhouns.
- 7:10SPEAKER_13: We've got more of the Mike Keith show coming up right after this.

- 7:24SPEAKER_13: Here's Bishop 15, stiff arm 20, Bishop 30, Bishop 40, Bishop 50, Bishop 40, Bishop down at the 35, the money man from turns pulls through the large arrange, and they are on the move.
- 7:41SPEAKER_13: Lewis saves the touchdown.
- 7:43SPEAKER_13: It's a gain of 59.
- 7:47SPEAKER_14: Huge hole on the right side.
- 7:49SPEAKER_14: Really good job for the tight end position of Tennessee, leading the way for Bishop.
- 7:53SPEAKER_14: Bishop's on the second gear, reaching the third level, almost going on that long run.
- 7:59SPEAKER_14: Really good job by Bishop.
- 8:02SPEAKER_13: He's over 100 now, 14 rushes, 109.
- 8:09SPEAKER_13: 700-yard game for Bishop.
- 8:15SPEAKER_08: Slow down and savor breakfast at Cracker Barrel, their new sweet cream caramel apple pancakes, combined crispy golden edges, fluffy centers, and sweet fall flavors in every bite.

- 9:16SPEAKER_18: The UT medical team knew exactly what they needed to do and just kept me calm throughout the process.
- 9:23SPEAKER_18: It was probably the most serious heart attack that you could have.
- 9:26SPEAKER_18: The team took care of me, worked quickly, efficiently, and I did catch the end of the game.

- 10:48SPEAKER_21: We protect each other.
- 10:49SPEAKER_21: We prepare to stay ready.
- 10:51SPEAKER_21: Protection looks different depending on where you stay.

- 12:40SPEAKER_13: Glad to have you with us on the Mike Eat Show delivered by Uber Eats.
- 12:43SPEAKER_13: Time for our big orange rewind with Brent Hubbs.
- 12:46SPEAKER_13: We're rewinding the win over Arkansas this past Saturday.
- 12:50SPEAKER_13: Welcome.
- 12:50SPEAKER_13: Thank you, sir.
- 12:51SPEAKER_13: All right.
- 12:52SPEAKER_13: So, what's the most important thing that Tennessee gained other than a fifth win in knocking off Arkansas on Saturday?
- 13:00SPEAKER_02: Managing adversity.
- 13:04SPEAKER_02: You fall behind, things are not going well, and you stick your foot in the ground, which cleats in the ground, you go play football and fix it and get it going.
- 13:13SPEAKER_02: Um 245 yards to 41 after you fall behind.
- 13:17SPEAKER_02: I think Tennessee's ability to respond in an adverse difficult situation is a good catalyst for this football team that you hope carries them on the back half of this schedule, which is obviously going to be difficult.
- 13:29SPEAKER_13: Regardless of what Tennessee does at the quarterback position going forward, what do you think George McIntyre gained in Fayetteville on Saturday?
- 13:38SPEAKER_02: Confidence.
- 13:40SPEAKER_02: I think he always had confidence, but I think reassurance that he can play at this level, he can get done what he needs to get done.
- 13:46SPEAKER_02: Certainly there are things he can do better.
- 13:48SPEAKER_02: Uh, but playing the next play, as Josh Heipel likes to say, he didn't seem bothered by anything.
- 13:53SPEAKER_02: I think if you're George McIntyre, you come out of that feeling good that everything I've done and everything I've been working towards learning translates.
- 14:02SPEAKER_02: And it translated on game day.
- 14:04SPEAKER_02: Was he perfect?
- 14:04SPEAKER_02: No, far from it.
- 14:05SPEAKER_02: Missed a lot of things, plenty of things to work on, but at the same time, too, he made critical plays.
- 14:11SPEAKER_02: He threw the ball over the middle effectively.
- 14:13SPEAKER_02: Um, he delivered the ball with good accuracy.
- 14:16SPEAKER_02: If I'm George McIntyre, I take a ton of confidence away that I can lead a football team and I can be a quarterback at this level and certainly the quarterback at Tennessee.
- 14:24SPEAKER_13: Tennessee did not run the football effectively overall until the fourth quarter.
- 14:30SPEAKER_13: And then they really did.
- 14:31SPEAKER_13: As you re-watch DeVall's victory at Arkansas, where did they get better in that fourth quarter in the run game?
- 14:39SPEAKER_02: I just think they I just think they got hat on a hat, so to speak, and and they moved some people better.
- 14:44SPEAKER_02: Um I think they got a better feel for some of what Arkansas was doing.
- 14:48SPEAKER_02: The long run by Deshaun Bishop was a schematic win for Tennessee.
- 14:52SPEAKER_02: They go tackle over, meaning you move David Sanders over on the same side with Jesse Perry.
- 14:57SPEAKER_02: You get a great block in the interior by Donovan Haslum at the guard spot, and then Jesse Perry and David Sanders kind of wash it down.
- 15:04SPEAKER_02: Um and then it's a great kick out block by Nick Moore, who under control in the pull.
- 15:09SPEAKER_02: And a lot of times when a guy pulls, he's just looking to pancake.
- 15:12SPEAKER_02: Nick Moore was looking to make sure he got it blocked up the right way, and and then Luca Wolf was a great block in the hole to spring Deshaun Bishop.
- 15:21SPEAKER_02: I I think there was just a little more choreography, if you will.
- 15:24SPEAKER_02: They were a little more in sync.
- 15:26SPEAKER_02: I think Arkansas got a little tired.
- 15:28SPEAKER_02: Arkansas maybe started gambling a little bit on some stuff, maybe guessing on some things.
- 15:33SPEAKER_02: And um and Deshaun Bishop's pretty good to close out a game, too, by the way.
- 15:36SPEAKER_02: I mean, he's he's one of the he took eleven of twelve carries, eleven of the twelve tailback carries in the second half.
- 15:43SPEAKER_02: Tennessee's clearly saying, hey, when it's go time, it's gonna be his time, and he is delivering right now.
- 15:48SPEAKER_02: He's Mariano Rivera.
- 15:49SPEAKER_02: He is the closer.
- 15:50SPEAKER_13: I also liked how you used choreography and in sync right there together.
- 15:54SPEAKER_13: That's a shout out to your favorite boy band.
- 15:57SPEAKER_13: I was a big boy band guy.
- 15:58SPEAKER_13: I know you're a big boy band.
- 15:59SPEAKER_13: Oh, back to serious defense kind of went away in the third quarter and it was not good.
- 16:06SPEAKER_13: And yet, they got it right back together late third quarter into the fourth quarter and really controlled Arkansas.
- 16:13SPEAKER_13: What was going wrong that you saw in the rewatch, and what did they fix?
- 16:17SPEAKER_13: Or how did they fix it?
- 16:18SPEAKER_02: I think in the third quarter they didn't show up with the intensity that they need to play with coming out of the locker room.
- 16:23SPEAKER_02: I don't think the entire team showed up that way.
- 16:25SPEAKER_02: I thought they were flat and a little bit lifeless to start the second half, and it showed up.
- 16:29SPEAKER_02: They didn't tackle well.
- 16:31SPEAKER_02: Uh Arkansas did some things with their gap scheme, according to their coaches, that they wanted to play off of T lander a little bit, felt like they could maybe attack some things that way.
- 16:40SPEAKER_02: It's a it's a game of adjustments.
- 16:42SPEAKER_02: And Tennessee adjusted, and then Xavier Gilliam decided at one point, hey, I'm gonna end this drive.
- 16:47SPEAKER_02: And and you go back and look at what Tennessee did on the drive after George McIntyre's fourth down or fourth quarter interception.
- 16:55SPEAKER_02: They win first down, okay?
- 16:58SPEAKER_02: They they they get pressure on second down, and then I thought Knowles schematically baited Arkansas into a third down run because Arkansas had success.
- 17:07SPEAKER_02: It looks like a light box.
- 17:08SPEAKER_02: That's what he shows pre-snap.
- 17:10SPEAKER_02: They go with the run play, and at the snap of the ball, DeJon Lane is at a full sprint to the line of scrimmage and basically a late safety run blitz right into where Arkansas was going.
- 17:21SPEAKER_02: I felt like that was a schematic win, play call win by Jim Knowles, sort of baiting Arkansas into trying to run it on that third and ten.
- 17:28SPEAKER_02: They weren't comfortable along in the already situations throwing the ball.
- 17:30SPEAKER_02: So they're looking for six, seven yards to go for it on fourth down, and Tennessee eliminated that.
- 17:35SPEAKER_02: Those three snaps by the defense in the fourth quarter right there after the turnover were huge snaps by Jim Knowles' defense.
- 17:42SPEAKER_08: It's time for the Rackley Roofing recap.
- 17:45SPEAKER_08: Rackley Roofing, transforming the roofing industry and the proud official roofer of the Tennessee Volunteers.
- 17:52SPEAKER_12: Hey Vall Nation, it's Sarah Detweiler, and it's time now for the Rackley Roofing recap.
- 17:56SPEAKER_12: Number 14, Tennessee picked up an exciting 24 to 17 road win over Arkansas this past Saturday, rallying from a seven-point second half deficit to improve to five and one on the season.
- 18:08SPEAKER_12: Knoxville native Deshaun Bishop led the way with 138 rushing yards, including a career-long 59-yard run that set up his game-winning touchdown with just under two minutes remaining.
- 18:19SPEAKER_12: The win also marked Josh Heifel's 50th win as Tennessee's head coach.
- 18:25SPEAKER_12: Elsewhere, number 10 Tennessee volleyball had a perfect weekend at the Food City Center, sweeping both Ole Miss on Friday and LSU on Sunday.
- 18:33SPEAKER_12: The Ladies Valls now have 11 sweeps so far this season, including three straight in SEC play.
- 18:40SPEAKER_12: That was the Rackley Roofing recap.
- 18:42SPEAKER_12: Rackley Roofing, transforming the roofing industry in the proud official roofer of the Tennessee Volunteers.
- 18:49SPEAKER_08: Here's a look at the Uber Eats delivery of the game.
- 18:52SPEAKER_08: Vol fans, let Uber Eats fuel your game day.
- 18:55SPEAKER_08: Use the code GOBIGORNERS to get$15 off all orders.
- 19:00SPEAKER_08: Uber Eats, the official on-demand delivery partner of the Vols.
- 19:05SPEAKER_08: Let's eat.
- 19:08SPEAKER_08: More pressure coming.
- 19:09SPEAKER_13: Jennifer hit lost the football.
- 19:11SPEAKER_13: It's lowly for me.
- 19:12SPEAKER_13: It's been recovered.
- 19:16SPEAKER_13: Give me the book to pop.
- 19:17SPEAKER_13: Give me the buttons recovery.
- 19:19SPEAKER_13: Give me the murder.
- 19:20SPEAKER_13: Take a look at me.
- 19:23SPEAKER_14: Gilliam doesn't give me a finish.
- 19:25SPEAKER_14: Winning one on the wall.
- 19:26SPEAKER_14: Get to the quarterback.
- 19:28SPEAKER_14: In the script.
- 19:29SPEAKER_14: Tennessee recovery.
- 19:31SPEAKER_14: Great job by the Tennessee defense recovery.
- 19:33SPEAKER_14: Get the ball back to the ball.
- 19:35SPEAKER_13: Gilliam through Jackson like he was a ragdoll and just ripped the football out.
- 19:41SPEAKER_13: And went all the way out to the 33-yard line to chase it down himself.
- 19:45SPEAKER_13: Tennessee Nation's leading team in stack.
- 19:49SPEAKER_13: With 24 now, Gilliam with five.
- 19:53SPEAKER_10: Taking you inside the walls of Rocky Top, the Mike Keith Show, presented by Uber Eats.
- 20:00SPEAKER_10: This is your Fall Network.
- 20:06SPEAKER_13: Run Hobbs continues with us on the Mike Keith Show, delivered by Uber Eats.
- 20:12SPEAKER_13: We're halfway through the football season.
- 20:14SPEAKER_13: Crazy.
- 20:15SPEAKER_13: Halfway through the season, six games into the season.
- 20:20SPEAKER_13: What has surprised you about Tennessee, this team, and what has not?
- 20:26SPEAKER_02: What has surprised me on the good side of things is how well this defensive line has played.
- 20:31SPEAKER_02: All the talk this offseason was about could they get to the quarterback?
- 20:35SPEAKER_02: When Jim Knowles met the media in August, the first second question he got was, do you think you have a pass rush?
- 20:40SPEAKER_02: And obviously where Tennessee is at right now, leading the nation or at the time.
- 20:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah, I think they've answered that bell.
- 20:46SPEAKER_02: So the play of the defensive line, specifically Xavier Gilliam, but when you look at the defensive line across the board has been a surprise.
- 20:53SPEAKER_02: I think for the rest of it, the other part of the surprise on the other end of the spectrum is you thought they would be more efficient offensively.
- 21:00SPEAKER_02: It would be at this point a little easier offensively.
- 21:03SPEAKER_02: They would have more chunk plays and explosive plays.
- 21:06SPEAKER_02: It feels like it's hard offensively right now, which is a bit of a surprise to me given what the history of the Josh Hipel offensive experience has been as a coordinator and a head coach.
- 21:16SPEAKER_13: All right, let's talk about the biggest surprise for the Vols through six games, not named Xavier Gilliam.
- 21:24SPEAKER_02: For me individually, I think it's Amari Campbell.
- 21:28SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 21:29SPEAKER_02: Um I thought Amari Campbell was going to be maybe the guy who taught the defense to everybody, but when you look at the depth of the linebackers in there, was was he going to be the guy that's really an anchor for them at linebacker?
- 21:42SPEAKER_02: Where where was where was he going to fit in transitioning to the SEC?
- 21:47SPEAKER_02: You know, he he's not the guy when he get he's not a bad-looking athlete by any means, but when he gets off the bus, you don't look at him and go, Wow, you know, big time linebacker, whatever.
- 21:56SPEAKER_02: But man, he's so effective in the way he played.
- 21:58SPEAKER_02: He played every snap.
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: In the game against Arkansas.
- 22:01SPEAKER_02: Did he really?
- 22:01SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it didn't come off the field.
- 22:02SPEAKER_02: And you look up at the end of every game, he's got seven or eight tackles.
- 22:05SPEAKER_02: And he's making a critical stop.
- 22:07SPEAKER_02: He's in the right place in pass coverage, you know, with a PBU break breakup late where he doesn't interfere.
- 22:14SPEAKER_02: It was a terrific football play.
- 22:15SPEAKER_02: Fantastic.
- 22:16SPEAKER_02: It was really good.
- 22:16SPEAKER_02: But then he's downhill in the run game at the line of scrimmage.
- 22:19SPEAKER_02: For me, Omari Campbell, outside of Xavier Gibbon, to me, Amari Campbell has been Mr.
- 22:25SPEAKER_02: Consistency.
- 22:25SPEAKER_02: And I know Dean Lane's made a bunch of plays, which they're supposed to make plays at the safety position in this defense.
- 22:31SPEAKER_02: I just love how Amari Campbell just, it's so workman-like every game for him, and it's so productive.
- 22:37SPEAKER_13: Vall or Vols, who have not gotten enough attention through six games.
- 22:42SPEAKER_02: I I think that you look at Quay Moss as a guy.
- 22:48SPEAKER_02: I know he missed a game.
- 22:49SPEAKER_02: I think Quay Moss is a really good football player.
- 22:52SPEAKER_02: He was terrific as a punt returner at Arkansas.
- 22:55SPEAKER_02: I bet he saved Tennessee 50 or 60 yards.
- 22:57SPEAKER_02: Had to.
- 22:58SPEAKER_02: Really smart decision.
- 22:59SPEAKER_02: He's really growing in that position.
- 23:01SPEAKER_02: He's physical.
- 23:03SPEAKER_02: He plays, you know, really well downhill, has done a really nice job there.
- 23:09SPEAKER_02: So I think he's played, he's played well.
- 23:11SPEAKER_02: I think Donovan Haslum in the run game has done some things where you wondered, could he sustain and play?
- 23:17SPEAKER_02: And he's ended up playing the whole game.
- 23:20SPEAKER_02: I think Mike Matthews is playing really good football.
- 23:23SPEAKER_02: I don't think they're getting him the ball enough.
- 23:25SPEAKER_02: It's been a bit hard to get him the ball, but Mike, he's playing fast right now, and he looks like he is at a different place than he was a year ago.
- 23:34SPEAKER_02: They just got to find ways to get him the ball more and more.
- 23:37SPEAKER_13: Most impressive defensive stat.
- 23:42SPEAKER_13: 25 sacks or allowing just 161 yards passing through six games.
- 23:48SPEAKER_02: I'm going to go with the stat with the sacks.
- 23:50SPEAKER_02: One, because it was the biggest question mark that you had in the offseason, was could you get pressure?
- 23:55SPEAKER_02: Two, and this is not a criticism of who they played, I don't think they played a great throw passing quarterback right now.
- 24:02SPEAKER_02: Arch Manning is probably the most talented guy that they've played.
- 24:06SPEAKER_02: He has not played particularly well to this point.
- 24:09SPEAKER_02: Pressure has had a lot to do with that, obviously.
- 24:12SPEAKER_02: But I think we're going to learn more about them in the secondary moving forward as they play some better quarterbacks in terms of throwing the ball than what they played.
- 24:20SPEAKER_02: But there was so much of a question mark about this team's ability to get home as a defensive front.
- 24:25SPEAKER_02: You know, Chaz Coleman's not here.
- 24:27SPEAKER_02: Okay, where do they go?
- 24:28SPEAKER_02: They don't have a Leo and all that.
- 24:30SPEAKER_02: And all of a sudden, Jim Knowles says, Well, okay, we'll play with a bunch of big guys off the edge.
- 24:33SPEAKER_02: And oh, Marion Die, you're gonna have, you know, four sacks uh to start the season through the first half of the year, and Weathersby, and then obviously what Xavier Gilliam has done.
- 24:42SPEAKER_02: It's to me, it's the play of the defensive line, and it's that sack total to this point.
- 24:47SPEAKER_13: Ball or balls that you think could really have a big second half of the season?
- 24:51SPEAKER_02: Well, I'm gonna cheat here and say Mike Matthews again if they can get him the football, because I think he's playing really well, and I think that um what they did to get him the ball on Saturday at Arkansas was clearly um an effort.
- 25:05SPEAKER_02: Okay, it's the underneath tunnel screen.
- 25:07SPEAKER_02: Obviously, he's making hay at the slant stuff right now, but they ran an end around.
- 25:12SPEAKER_02: They they lined him up in the in the shotgun and with the direct snap.
- 25:15SPEAKER_02: There was a clear game plan going in of hey, our best elite, our best chunk playmaker besides Deshaun Bishop is Mike Matthews.
- 25:24SPEAKER_02: We've got to get him to football.
- 25:25SPEAKER_02: I think if they can find ways creatively to continue to get him to football, I think he can have a big second half of the season.
- 25:30SPEAKER_02: More Mike Catt.
- 25:32SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 25:32SPEAKER_02: Mike Catt, I don't care what you call it.
- 25:34SPEAKER_02: Just get him, get him the ball early and often because I think he's playing really well right now.
- 25:39SPEAKER_02: First thoughts on Alabama early in the week.
- 25:41SPEAKER_02: Uh physical, tough.
- 25:43SPEAKER_02: You know what you're gonna get.
- 25:44SPEAKER_02: It's gonna be a war, you've got to be ready to go.
- 25:46SPEAKER_02: Um Keenan Russell's a really good player, he's been really effective.
- 25:50SPEAKER_02: You've got to try to disrupt him.
- 25:52SPEAKER_02: How can you do that?
- 25:54SPEAKER_02: Offensively, can Tennessee find some chunks like they did in the fourth quarter?
- 25:58SPEAKER_02: Alabama doesn't give up many of those.
- 26:00SPEAKER_02: Can Tennessee avoid self-inflicted wounds on offense?
- 26:03SPEAKER_02: Um and you've got to start faster.
- 26:05SPEAKER_02: Man, this team's just not starting fast enough right now, particularly on the offensive side of the ball.
- 26:10SPEAKER_02: And it's not just the opening drive, it's the entire first quarter.
- 26:14SPEAKER_02: It's just, I mean, it's coming out of mud, it feels like, to get started offensively.
- 26:19SPEAKER_02: They need to get out of the gates faster at home.
- 26:21SPEAKER_13: Probably need a big play somewhere because this style of offense, going out and sort of driving in terms of being a run first team, it's hard to do that to get the great start.
- 26:34SPEAKER_13: Usually that takes time to build up over a period of time.
- 26:38SPEAKER_13: A long run, a long pass, a kick return, a block kick, an interception.
- 26:43SPEAKER_13: That would lift the spirits a great deal in this way.
- 26:46SPEAKER_02: Well, no doubt, because you script to start, but you really don't want to have to go through the whole script on the first drive.
- 26:51SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 26:51SPEAKER_02: Okay?
- 26:51SPEAKER_02: And Tennessee's having to do that.
- 26:53SPEAKER_02: You look up and to be in field goal range, they're at play nine, okay, they're uh, or play ten to get a to try to score a touchdown, they're at play twelve or thirteen on the script.
- 27:02SPEAKER_02: What you would like to do is somewhere in there, you want to hit a chunk and and speed that thing up and get everybody really juiced up and going.
- 27:10SPEAKER_02: So I agree with you.
- 27:11SPEAKER_02: You've got to find a way to make a play early in this game.
- 27:13SPEAKER_02: Maybe it's a turnover by the defense, giving you a short field.
- 27:16SPEAKER_02: The kicking game, as you mentioned, are certainly finding a splash play on offense.
- 27:20SPEAKER_13: Brent Hubb's hot take right here from Firehouse Subs.
- 27:24SPEAKER_13: They have the Thanksgiving sub, the turkey cranberry sub back.
- 27:29SPEAKER_13: It's fantastic.
- 27:30SPEAKER_13: It is fantastic.
- 27:31SPEAKER_13: It's like having Thanksgiving dinner in a sandwich.
- 27:35SPEAKER_13: It's Thanksgiving dinner in a sandwich at Firehouse Subs.
- 27:37SPEAKER_13: Can't beat it.
- 27:38SPEAKER_13: A handheld Thanksgiving dinner.
- 27:40SPEAKER_13: A handheld Thanksgiving dinner.
- 27:41SPEAKER_13: And you don't have to cook for 74 hours to get ready for it.
- 27:45SPEAKER_13: It's good.
- 27:46SPEAKER_13: Try one if you go buy Firehouse Subs, and you should go buy Firehouse Subs.
- 27:49SPEAKER_13: Hot take, Mr.
- 27:50SPEAKER_13: Hubbs.
- 27:52SPEAKER_02: Tennessee, I want to go with Xavier Gillian, but that's just such a cop-out.
- 27:56SPEAKER_02: Well, that's okay.
- 27:57SPEAKER_13: Go with whatever go with what your heart feels.
- 27:59SPEAKER_13: I think Tennessee.
- 28:00SPEAKER_13: We've already referred to InSync.
- 28:02SPEAKER_13: Think of your favorite NSYNC song and just let it bring you your hot take.
- 28:07SPEAKER_02: Well, if Tennessee is going to give Alabama a bye-bye bye and send them to this defensive front has to play really well, and they've got to affect uh Keenan Russell.
- 28:16SPEAKER_02: I just think Xavier Gilliam's playing at such a high level right now that he's problematic and he's going to continue to cause problems.
- 28:23SPEAKER_02: I'll go with Tennessee's defensive front with three sacks in this game.
- 28:28SPEAKER_02: And I think I think Xavier Gilliam will lead the charge, whether it's the production on the stat sheet or he's creating things for everybody else.
- 28:35SPEAKER_02: I think I think he makes everybody around him so much better on that defensive front.
- 28:39SPEAKER_02: What a good player he is.
- 28:41SPEAKER_13: So fun.
- 28:42SPEAKER_13: If you are someone who just watches the ball, totally understand that, not being critical.
- 28:46SPEAKER_13: But take a few plays on defense and just watch him, and you'll go, oh my goodness.
- 28:52SPEAKER_13: Because to see a really talented interior defensive lineman do his thing is like nothing else in football.
- 28:58SPEAKER_02: Well, I mean, the thing about him is he can get skinny, so to speak, and get through a gap.
- 29:03SPEAKER_02: He can use his hands really well.
- 29:05SPEAKER_02: He moves exceptionally laterally for a guy his size, but his get-off and his timing is just fantastic.
- 29:12SPEAKER_02: I mean, he he is such a he is so much fun to watch play football.
- 29:15SPEAKER_02: It's hard.
- 29:16SPEAKER_02: Sometimes you're watching it on the field level and you know you get lost in there, and then you go to the rewatch and you'll, well, there he is again.
- 29:22SPEAKER_02: There he is again.
- 29:23SPEAKER_02: Well, there he is again.
- 29:24SPEAKER_02: Oh, he disrupted that one again.
- 29:25SPEAKER_02: Just making a lot of plays.
- 29:27SPEAKER_13: The most handsome man on a Dunkin' Donut 2026, already voted by you, the Vol fans.
- 29:33SPEAKER_13: Brent Hubbs of the Vol Radio Network and VallQuest.com.
- 29:38SPEAKER_13: Thank you for joining us on the Mike Keats.
- 29:39SPEAKER_13: I appreciate it.
- 29:40SPEAKER_02: It's an honor to be the Dunkin' Donut man of the year.
- 29:42SPEAKER_13: It is.
- 29:42SPEAKER_13: Dunkin' Donut's sexiest man of the year on a donut.
- 29:45SPEAKER_13: More of the show coming up right after this.
- 29:48SPEAKER_08: It's time for the Sonic Big Play moment.
- 29:51SPEAKER_08: McIntyre is the quarterback.
- 29:58SPEAKER_13: Play fake.
- 29:59SPEAKER_13: McIntyre throws.
- 30:00SPEAKER_13: Got Bray at the 50.
- 30:02SPEAKER_13: Bray Blake breaks a tackle 40.
- 30:04SPEAKER_13: 30.
- 30:05SPEAKER_13: Brain 20.
- 30:06SPEAKER_13: Brain 10.
- 30:07SPEAKER_13: Brain knocked out of bounds at the six.
- 30:11SPEAKER_13: McIntyre to Bray for 68 yards.
- 30:15SPEAKER_13: Lewis saves a touchdown.
- 30:17SPEAKER_13: And it's first and goal.
- 30:21SPEAKER_14: Exactly what the documents ordered.
- 30:23SPEAKER_14: Heavy runs back.
- 30:24SPEAKER_14: The linebackers up.
- 30:25SPEAKER_14: Brain was able to run up the seed for a big time play for Tennessee's offense.
- 30:30SPEAKER_14: They move the ball back to the seven.
- 30:36SPEAKER_13: Robinson and Gentle are on the right side with Braim in the middle.
- 30:43SPEAKER_13: Gives the ball Brain.
- 30:45SPEAKER_13: Driving forward.
- 30:46SPEAKER_13: Touchdown! Tennessee! Fullback.
- 30:51SPEAKER_13: Just a handoff.
- 30:52SPEAKER_13: And Tennessee is able to drive it in for the score.
- 30:57SPEAKER_13: Something that they like to do over the years.
- 31:01SPEAKER_13: Under head coach Josh Heifel.
- 31:04SPEAKER_08: Keep it simple and retake the lead.

- 35:50SPEAKER_13: Here are two of them Matty Green and Chris Washington.
- 35:55SPEAKER_13: This is Chris Washington, freshman basketball player.
- 35:59SPEAKER_13: Floridian by Berth?
- 36:01SPEAKER_13: Close.
- 36:01SPEAKER_13: Okay.
- 36:05SPEAKER_13: Excited to join the Vol basketball team.
- 36:07SPEAKER_13: We're excited to have him.
- 36:09SPEAKER_13: Presented by Clayton Holmes.
- 36:11SPEAKER_13: Glad you're here.
- 36:13SPEAKER_13: I'm glad I'm here too.
- 36:14SPEAKER_13: Alright, so the process to finally get here and to get everything started, do you feel like you're now fully up to speed with everything in regards to Tennessee?
- 36:25SPEAKER_19: Nah, for sure.
- 36:26SPEAKER_19: You know, when I first got here, you know, it was, you know, just trying to find my classes, trying to where everything was at, you know.
- 36:33SPEAKER_19: Now that since I've been here, you know, I'm starting to know everything.
- 36:37SPEAKER_13: Okay, now practices during the summer.
- 36:39SPEAKER_13: Probably never been through anything like that, right?
- 36:41SPEAKER_13: Oh, here we go.
- 36:42SPEAKER_13: Uh what's your favorite practice story so far?
- 36:45SPEAKER_19: Story?
- 36:46SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 36:46SPEAKER_19: I want to say it was maybe the third, I'm gonna say maybe that Friday, like of the first week of practice.
- 36:54SPEAKER_19: Uh he made me do like, I want to say two seventeens, and then I had to do a versa climber.
- 36:59SPEAKER_19: So what's the two seventeen?
- 37:01SPEAKER_19: This is the basketball court.
- 37:02SPEAKER_19: Okay.
- 37:03SPEAKER_19: And then you got the sideline.
- 37:05SPEAKER_19: Okay.
- 37:06SPEAKER_19: And then you gotta run this 17 times.
- 37:07SPEAKER_19: Oh gosh.
- 37:08SPEAKER_19: So I did it twice.
- 37:10SPEAKER_19: I made it.
- 37:11SPEAKER_19: And then that's when we had to get on the versa climber.
- 37:13SPEAKER_19: And I think it was one I had.
- 37:15SPEAKER_13: That's the thing that you know that's not great.
- 37:18SPEAKER_19: I had to do that for a hundred I think I a hundred and eighty.
- 37:22SPEAKER_19: I want to say a hundred and eighty, I had to do it for a minute.
- 37:24SPEAKER_19: Oh gosh.
- 37:25SPEAKER_19: So I did it, I didn't make it.
- 37:27SPEAKER_19: And I had to do it again.
- 37:29SPEAKER_19: So when I did it, I made it.
- 37:31SPEAKER_19: I just fell to the floor.
- 37:32SPEAKER_19: That was my welcome college.
- 37:34SPEAKER_13: So is this the best shape you've ever been in in your life?
- 37:37SPEAKER_19: Yes.
- 37:38SPEAKER_19: Seriously.
- 37:39SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 37:40SPEAKER_13: But it it's it's different because the effort that you have to exert playing for Coach Barnes takes you being in really good shape.
- 37:50SPEAKER_13: Yes.
- 37:50SPEAKER_13: Because he wants it on both ends of the floor.
- 37:52SPEAKER_13: Has it been harder for you to adjust to offense or defense?
- 37:56SPEAKER_19: I say defense.
- 37:58SPEAKER_19: Okay, because you know it's a lot of things that I need to learn.
- 38:03SPEAKER_19: And he's been teaching me that.
- 38:05SPEAKER_13: What are some of the things you have to learn on defense?
- 38:08SPEAKER_19: You know, just certain places like where to be at in position and stuff like that, like on the ball, stuff like that.
- 38:15SPEAKER_13: So you're 6'9.
- 38:16SPEAKER_19: Yes, sir.
- 38:17SPEAKER_13: Okay, really long arms, we see.
- 38:19SPEAKER_13: Handle the basketball.
- 38:21SPEAKER_13: Do you do you see yourself playing inside or outside, or how or how does, I guess more importantly, how does Coach Barnes see that?
- 38:28SPEAKER_19: I mean, I'm versatile.
- 38:29SPEAKER_19: I feel like I can do both.
- 38:30SPEAKER_19: I mean, I'm gonna do whatever he needs me to do, honestly.
- 38:33SPEAKER_19: So if if I gotta play inside, I play inside.
- 38:36SPEAKER_19: If I gotta play outside, I play outside.
- 38:38SPEAKER_19: I can really do both.
- 38:39SPEAKER_19: Have you done a lot of both in your high school and AAU career?
- 38:42SPEAKER_19: For sure.
- 38:43SPEAKER_13: Okay.
- 38:44SPEAKER_13: All right.
- 38:45SPEAKER_13: So take me through a little bit of of your journey to end up picking Tennessee and kind of getting through that process and and then ending up here and and being part of this program.
- 38:59SPEAKER_13: What put Tennessee over the top as that process dragged into the spread?
- 39:04SPEAKER_19: I was originally committed to Alabama, but I ended up decommitting for personal reasons.
- 39:10SPEAKER_19: So when I decommit it, you know, they reached out.
- 39:15SPEAKER_19: And then, you know, just honestly, me and Coach Barnes just having that serious conversation, you know.
- 39:20SPEAKER_19: I was just telling them, like, I want you to be on me, I want you to be a hundred percent honest with me.
- 39:25SPEAKER_19: And then like with him just telling me that he was always gonna keep it 100 with me, I felt like that's all I needed a coach, just to be honest with me.
- 39:34SPEAKER_19: Like, don't sugarcoat anything with me.
- 39:36SPEAKER_19: So I feel like that would really chose me to come here, honestly.
- 39:40SPEAKER_13: And he's 100% honest.
- 39:42SPEAKER_19: Yes, and that's what I love about him, you know.
- 39:45SPEAKER_19: That's really it.
- 39:46SPEAKER_13: Who are the older players who have really helped you to get used to college life and college basketball?
- 39:53SPEAKER_19: Dwayne Brown and my boy Troy.
- 39:57SPEAKER_19: Troy Henderson.
- 39:58SPEAKER_19: Troy Henderson.
- 39:59SPEAKER_13: Where do you see yourself having a chance to fit in on this basketball team this year?
- 40:03SPEAKER_19: Honestly, just playing hard on defense and rebounding.
- 40:08SPEAKER_19: I feel like I'm a freshman, you know.
- 40:09SPEAKER_19: I feel like that's the only way I'm gonna be on the court.
- 40:11SPEAKER_19: Just rebounding and playing hard and playing defense.
- 40:14SPEAKER_13: Has it been hard to keep your confidence up while you kind of go through all this major upheaval going from high school to college?
- 40:22SPEAKER_19: No.
- 40:23SPEAKER_19: My confidence is gonna always be 100%.
- 40:25SPEAKER_19: That's awesome.
- 40:26SPEAKER_19: Yeah.
- 40:26SPEAKER_13: Hey, it is great to see you.
- 40:28SPEAKER_13: We're glad you're here.
- 40:28SPEAKER_19: Yes, sir.
- 40:29SPEAKER_19: I'm glad I'm here too.
- 40:30SPEAKER_13: Chris Washington Jr.
- 40:31SPEAKER_13: joining us here on the Mike Keith Show.
- 40:33SPEAKER_13: His appearance presented by our friends at Clayton Homes.
- 40:36SPEAKER_13: They're good people.
- 40:38SPEAKER_13: Yes, sir.
- 40:39SPEAKER_13: All right.
- 40:40SPEAKER_13: Mike Keith Show continues as we talk basketball with Manny Green.
- 40:46SPEAKER_13: He is from Ellenwood, GA, as John Ward used to say, when Reggie Johnson played here years ago.
- 40:54SPEAKER_13: You probably heard a lot about Reggie Johnson, haven't you?
- 40:56SPEAKER_13: Oh yeah, he's a GOAT in our uh Illinois area.
- 40:59SPEAKER_13: And you and uh you broke his record, right?
- 41:02SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 41:03SPEAKER_13: We won't tell Reggie, but uh does he know?
- 41:06SPEAKER_13: Yeah, he knows he was he came to the game.
- 41:08SPEAKER_13: He came to the game where you broke the record.
- 41:10SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 41:10SPEAKER_13: You know he was a first-round draft pick?
- 41:12SPEAKER_13: Yeah, Philadelphia 76ers?
- 41:14SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 41:14SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 41:15SPEAKER_13: So Matty Green's appearance on the Mike Heath show brought to you by Food City, the official grocery store and uh tailgate headquarters, the volse.
- 41:24SPEAKER_13: Love those food city people.
- 41:26SPEAKER_20: Oh yeah.
- 41:26SPEAKER_13: Oh yeah.
- 41:27SPEAKER_13: All right, so 6'7-210.
- 41:30SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 41:31SPEAKER_13: Yes, sir.
- 41:31SPEAKER_13: All right, so I want to know.
- 41:33SPEAKER_13: So your brother plays D-line for Louisville?
- 41:36SPEAKER_20: Yes, sir.
- 41:37SPEAKER_13: AJ?
- 41:38SPEAKER_13: Green.
- 41:38SPEAKER_13: Yes, AJ Green.
- 41:39SPEAKER_13: 6'6, 250.
- 41:42SPEAKER_13: Yeah.
- 41:42SPEAKER_13: Okay, so was he a basketball player as well?
- 41:45SPEAKER_13: Or how how did he get to the defensive line and you got to the basketball court?
- 41:50SPEAKER_20: So we both grew up playing like three sports basketball, football, and baseball.
- 41:57SPEAKER_20: And he just took the football route and I just took the basketball route after middle school.
- 42:03SPEAKER_20: But he still played a little basketball in high school.
- 42:06SPEAKER_20: But before he went to college, he stopped.
- 42:08SPEAKER_13: So he just became a football-only guy.
- 42:11SPEAKER_13: But I mean, that's gotta excite a lot of Tennessee fans, I would think, because you having the chance to bulk up, it looks like you could definitely do that.
- 42:18SPEAKER_20: Oh, yeah, I definitely can go out there and play.
- 42:20SPEAKER_13: Because you're just 18, right?
- 42:21SPEAKER_13: Yes, sir.
- 42:22SPEAKER_13: Okay, so you get a chance to get bigger.
- 42:24SPEAKER_13: Ellen Wood and where you play basketball, I mean, it is outstanding ball.
- 42:29SPEAKER_13: Historically, it has been tremendous high school basketball.
- 42:32SPEAKER_13: You had three really super years there, consistent scoring and rebounding.
- 42:38SPEAKER_13: How much do you think playing that kind of competition and then the AAU competition that you played had you ready for the step up to an SEC program like Tennessee?
- 42:48SPEAKER_20: I think it had me ready with like the mindset attribute, with like playing at Cedar Grove and like just being in that environment in that area, like playing with that certain mindset.
- 43:00SPEAKER_20: It just carried on throughout going to uh play AU and up to here where I'm at now.
- 43:06SPEAKER_20: So this wasn't intimidating.
- 43:09SPEAKER_20: No, sir.
- 43:10SPEAKER_20: What was the hardest part?
- 43:11SPEAKER_20: The hardest part about making the jump, I'd probably say just, you know, growing up, like you know, you guys trying to put your Bit Boy pants on, you know, and just you know be more I say aware and more like on point with like the details and everything.
- 43:28SPEAKER_13: What's impressive about you though, I mean, you're playing with some grown men now.
- 43:31SPEAKER_13: Oh, yeah, and it doesn't look like it bothers you in the least.
- 43:35SPEAKER_13: Nah.
- 43:36SPEAKER_13: And and that's because of the competition and the fact that you had a brother who was a defensive lineman.
- 43:40SPEAKER_13: You had to stand up for yourself in the house, right?
- 43:43SPEAKER_13: Always when Tennessee fans are gonna see Manny Green play, what type of player are they gonna see?
- 43:49SPEAKER_20: They're going to see a two way player, you know, playing both sides of the ball, giving them all on offense and defense.
- 43:55SPEAKER_13: Where have you improved the most since you got here?
- 43:57SPEAKER_20: The most I improved in is probably like.
- 44:00SPEAKER_20: Learning the offense, and I say more so like defending, because I thought I was a good defender.
- 44:04SPEAKER_20: Like me and Coach talk about it all the time.
- 44:07SPEAKER_20: Well, like before I got here when I was on my visit, I was like, I can come in and I can do that.
- 44:12SPEAKER_20: Then when I got here, I didn't realize like how like more intense and detailed it was.
- 44:18SPEAKER_13: So how many times did you get a chance to come see the balls play?
- 44:21SPEAKER_13: Like three times.
- 44:22SPEAKER_13: Three times.
- 44:23SPEAKER_13: What impressed you the most about the atmosphere that goes with it?
- 44:28SPEAKER_20: It's just so different.
- 44:30SPEAKER_20: It's like you can't even explain it.
- 44:31SPEAKER_20: Like you just gotta be there.
- 44:33SPEAKER_20: It's like it's just so electrical.
- 44:36SPEAKER_20: It's like you get the feeling through your body, it's like wake you up.
- 44:39SPEAKER_13: You had some really good schools that you picked among and and took Tennessee in the process.
- 44:46SPEAKER_13: What put Tennessee over those other schools?
- 44:48SPEAKER_13: Why did you choose the balls?
- 44:50SPEAKER_20: I'd say with like how real they kept it with me from like day one and like through the whole process.
- 44:56SPEAKER_20: Like even to now, it's like everything they told me and stuff through the process, it wasn't a lie.
- 45:03SPEAKER_13: Do you remember your first conversation with Coach Barnes?
- 45:06SPEAKER_20: Yeah.
- 45:06SPEAKER_13: What was that like?
- 45:08SPEAKER_20: At first, it was like it was amazing because he coached KD, and KD is like one of my favorite players.
- 45:13SPEAKER_20: Kevin Durant, yeah.
- 45:14SPEAKER_20: Yeah, so it was like, I ain't and he's a legend too, so it's like I get a chance to get coached by him.
- 45:22SPEAKER_20: That's just all I could ask for.
- 45:24SPEAKER_13: As you go into this season, do you have particular goals for yourself in terms of things that you want to get done as a freshman?
- 45:32SPEAKER_20: Most definitely want to get that SEC freshman of the year.
- 45:36SPEAKER_13: Wow.
- 45:36SPEAKER_13: Okay.
- 45:37SPEAKER_13: I like it.
- 45:37SPEAKER_13: Manny Green, thanks so much for joining us.
- 45:39SPEAKER_13: Yes, sir.
- 45:39SPEAKER_13: Thank you.
- 45:40SPEAKER_13: All right, here with the Mike Keith Show.
- 45:42SPEAKER_13: His visit is presented by Food City, the official grocery store and tailgate headquarters of the Vols.
- 45:48SPEAKER_13: When the Mike Keith show delivered by Uber Eats continues, some fun to open Tennessee Alabama week, which also happens to be a very busy week for multiple sports on campus.
- 46:02SPEAKER_13: Stay tuned.
- 46:03SPEAKER_13: How wildly popular is Jason Swain getting?
- 46:06SPEAKER_13: He's got his own Duncan Donut.
- 46:08SPEAKER_13: They have the special balls donut, and they have done the Duncan version.
- 46:12SPEAKER_13: Look at that.
- 46:13SPEAKER_13: But it's the Jason Swain donut, and here is Jason Swain with the Jason Swain donut.
- 46:20SPEAKER_13: Here he goes.
- 46:21SPEAKER_13: Yes, sir.

- 48:23SPEAKER_13: Obviously sampled it.
- 48:25SPEAKER_13: Definitely sampled it.
- 48:26SPEAKER_13: Yes.
- 48:26SPEAKER_13: Okay, how about the Brent Hubbs donut?
- 48:29SPEAKER_13: Look at Hubs, man.
- 48:31SPEAKER_13: He kind of looks like George Clooney, sort of.
- 48:35SPEAKER_13: Looks better than George Clooney.
- 48:37SPEAKER_13: I mean, look at this.
- 48:38SPEAKER_13: I mean, first of all, he's got the outfit on.
- 48:42SPEAKER_00: No tie, though.
- 48:43SPEAKER_13: No tie.
- 48:44SPEAKER_13: So handsome.
- 48:45SPEAKER_13: He kind of looks like he's going to Lake Como in Italy, doesn't he?
- 48:49SPEAKER_13: Alright, we gotta talk about this.
- 48:50SPEAKER_13: Jason Swain and I've already discussed it.
- 48:53unknown: Oh no.
- 48:54SPEAKER_13: They they make the Brent Hubbs donut.
- 48:58SPEAKER_13: You I mean, wow.
- 49:02SPEAKER_13: I mean, has anybody looked better in a caricature or a cartoon than what Brent Hubbs looks like right here?
- 49:08SPEAKER_13: You look great, Brent.
- 49:09SPEAKER_11: I mean that's I look better on this than I do in person.
- 49:13SPEAKER_13: Well, yeah, we all know that.
- 49:14SPEAKER_13: But this is so much better.
- 49:16SPEAKER_13: We said it's like George Clooney, like you've just come off the yacht.
- 49:20SPEAKER_24: That's me.
- 49:20SPEAKER_24: That's me.
- 49:21SPEAKER_24: I've just come off my yacht in Italy.
- 49:24SPEAKER_11: This is what I get.
- 49:26SPEAKER_11: I get that.
- 49:28SPEAKER_11: And you get from the South of France hupper.
- 49:32SPEAKER_24: I've got South of France, you've got South Park.
- 49:34SPEAKER_24: I'm not sure if you're not sure.
- 49:35SPEAKER_24: That's exactly right.
- 49:38SPEAKER_24: I'll take South of France all day.
- 49:40SPEAKER_13: I think what this tells us is that Duncan loves Brent Hubs.
- 49:45SPEAKER_13: You can take that home to your children and I'll put it under glass at the end of the office.
- 49:50SPEAKER_13: All of Volquest is seeing this.
- 49:52SPEAKER_13: Let's take a picture now.
- 49:55SPEAKER_13: Go ahead.
- 49:56SPEAKER_13: Have a bite.
- 49:57SPEAKER_02: What do we got going on in this donuts?
- 49:58SPEAKER_13: Well, we have Vols Donuts this week.
- 50:01SPEAKER_13: Duncan, longtime sponsor and supporter of the Vols.
- 50:06SPEAKER_13: Out of way.
- 50:07SPEAKER_14: There you go, hubs.
- 50:08SPEAKER_13: They get the$6 Vols meal, bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich, hash browns, iced coffee, regular coffee.
- 50:17SPEAKER_13: $6.
- 50:17SPEAKER_13: You can't beat it with a stick.
- 50:19SPEAKER_13: He's not talking at all.
- 50:21SPEAKER_13: He's impressed with how he looks.
- 50:22SPEAKER_13: He's so impressed.
- 50:23SPEAKER_13: Well, first of all, he's impressed that he has a cookie that's a donut.
- 50:26SPEAKER_13: The second thing is he's like, well, look at these cheekbones.
- 50:30SPEAKER_13: I mean, it's like he was he's a model.
- 50:33SPEAKER_13: He is.
- 50:35SPEAKER_14: Pretty good donut.
- 50:36SPEAKER_14: It's it is a good donut.
- 50:37SPEAKER_14: It's a real good donut.
- 50:38SPEAKER_14: It's a real good donut.
- 50:40SPEAKER_13: This is why you grow up dreaming when you're in Coryton of being part of the Vol Radio Network, so you can get your own donut.
- 50:47SPEAKER_13: I'm telling you, the Jason Swain donut, have you seen that?
- 50:51SPEAKER_13: Look at this.
- 50:53SPEAKER_13: Now I'm offended.
- 50:54SPEAKER_13: You get a donut too.
- 50:55SPEAKER_13: Well, yeah, we all got donuts.
- 50:57SPEAKER_13: You're not the only one on the Vol Network, team.
- 51:01SPEAKER_13: This is not all about you.
- 51:02SPEAKER_13: See the Jason Swain donut.
- 51:04SPEAKER_13: It's not as handsome as yours, but I mean it's pretty good.
- 51:06SPEAKER_13: I said they'd be sold out of those by six.
- 51:07SPEAKER_13: Oh, yeah.
- 51:08SPEAKER_13: And he said AM or PM.
- 51:09SPEAKER_13: I said both.
- 51:12SPEAKER_02: Mine'd be on the shelf for three days.
- 51:15SPEAKER_13: You're just gonna keep eating.
- 51:17SPEAKER_13: Wow, this makes for a great feature.
- 51:19SPEAKER_13: You just eating.
- 51:20SPEAKER_24: What am I supposed to do?
- 51:22SPEAKER_13: You give me a donut.
- 51:22SPEAKER_11: Well, you can just talk.
- 51:23SPEAKER_11: You can just say, oh, this is nice.
- 51:25SPEAKER_11: This is a great donut.
- 51:28SPEAKER_13: I guess it's a hundred percent approved.
- 51:30SPEAKER_13: Apologize.
- 51:30SPEAKER_13: It's okay.
- 51:31SPEAKER_02: I didn't play the game very well.
- 51:32SPEAKER_13: You played the game beautifully because you're so happy with yourself.
- 51:35SPEAKER_13: But that's okay.
- 51:36SPEAKER_13: You deserve that.
- 51:36SPEAKER_13: You've worked hard for 30 plus years on the Vol Network.
- 51:40SPEAKER_14: You made it, hubs.
- 51:40SPEAKER_13: You've arrived.
- 51:41SPEAKER_13: I got a donut, man.
- 51:42SPEAKER_13: But then he's mad you got a donut.
- 51:45SPEAKER_14: What does that say?
- 51:46SPEAKER_14: I thought you guys were friends.
- 51:47SPEAKER_14: It says I need to work harder.
- 51:49SPEAKER_14: I gotta be better.
- 51:50SPEAKER_14: I gotta be better.
- 51:51SPEAKER_14: Get on Hub level.
- 51:52SPEAKER_14: It's a good way to start Alabama Week.
- 51:55SPEAKER_13: Thanks, Duncan.
- 51:57SPEAKER_13: And remember their$6 Vol meal deal.
- 52:00SPEAKER_13: That is a bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich, hash browns, iced coffee, or hot coffee again.
- 52:06SPEAKER_13: Just$6 at Duncan.
- 52:09SPEAKER_13: For all of you joining us, we thank you so much, and we'll see you next time.
- 52:17SPEAKER_10: All week long to the latest from the Tennessee campus, Mike Teet Show, online, delivered by Uber Eats, UT Sports.com.
