- 0:43SPEAKER_00: Thank you guys for killing it.
- 0:46SPEAKER_00: Absolutely murdering on stage.
- 0:49SPEAKER_00: You guys all did a freaking great, fantastic job.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: And man.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: I had a rub set.
- 1:00SPEAKER_00: I did.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: Like it was okay.
- 1:03SPEAKER_00: It was good.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: Like I'll give it like a six out of ten.
- 1:06SPEAKER_00: It was good.
- 1:07SPEAKER_00: But I did learn a lot.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: I learned a lot from my experiences on stage tonight.
- 1:13SPEAKER_00: Like there was certain choices I would have made differently about talking to people.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: Like there was a guy that just walked up and sat in the front row, just out of nowhere, out of the blue, and wanted to talk about freaking how he was cheating on his wife.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: And he brought the mistress.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: And then she was all like embarrassed that he called her out.
- 1:38SPEAKER_00: But like that was the mistress.
- 1:41SPEAKER_00: You know what I'm saying?
- 1:42SPEAKER_00: And it was just like it was it was nuts.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: It was nuts.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: And I guess by the end of it, like I guess the woman was crying because of some of the things I said.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: She was like crying.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, dude, you freaking you're with a married dude.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: Like.
- 2:01SPEAKER_00: What do you what do you want me to say?
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: You're with a married guy.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: You're with a married man.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: That's just what it is, man.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: You're with a married man.
- 2:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was it was tough for sure.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: There was a guy.
- 2:16SPEAKER_00: Let's talk about this freaking guy.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: There was a guy.
- 2:22SPEAKER_00: And I'm gonna I'm gonna say some bad words.
- 2:24SPEAKER_00: I'm just letting you know.
- 2:25SPEAKER_00: Mom, I love you.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna say some bad words.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: I just like this guy.
- 2:34SPEAKER_00: He he was get he was getting in my head from like the beginning.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: He wasn't there during the whole show.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: He came in at the end.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: And he was just talking.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: He was talking the whole time.
- 2:55SPEAKER_00: And it was so annoying.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: He was talking about me being terrible.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: Like the whole time.
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: He's huge.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: So so the other my my comic friends were like, why don't you just freaking call him out and just like roast him?
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: Like, what's the freaking?
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, he's huge! He's freaking huge! And I don't know him, and it seems like he's drunk.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: Like I don't know what's gonna happen if I just go in on him, you know.
- 3:23SPEAKER_00: So I just kept pushing and pushing, and then some of my jokes in the middle started to fall kind of flat, and my timing was off.
- 3:29SPEAKER_00: And then the guy was like, Oh, he's just talking to people because he has no material left and it's freaking Mexican.
- 3:38SPEAKER_00: The worst comic I've ever seen.
- 3:40SPEAKER_00: Like, all these guys just freaking suck.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: You know, they just talk to people.
- 3:44SPEAKER_00: This guy doesn't know how to write a joke.
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: Like, he was, I mean, he was the whole time just like going in.
- 3:51SPEAKER_00: And then after I finally addressed it with him, it's like he just he was he was just doing it to be an absolute freaking tool, is what he was doing it for.
- 4:07SPEAKER_00: He was beat, he was trying to be a tool, and it was just like you know, pe people like that, that's just who they are.
- 4:18SPEAKER_00: That's just who they are, and he's got a wife there, you know, just there, just looking to not get beaten, you know.
- 4:29SPEAKER_00: And it was just it was crazy.
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was wild.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: You know, just dudes trying to frick around with you during your set, man.
- 4:43SPEAKER_00: And like at the end, I kind of got him back.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: Because he was like this huge white dude.
- 4:47SPEAKER_00: I kind of got him back.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: I was like, at the end, I was like, yo, so if you guys need you know dildos to get dropped off or anything, like freaking let me know.
- 4:56SPEAKER_00: I was like, especially this guy.
- 4:58SPEAKER_00: I was like, I know this guy with like an eight-piece fried chicken and a dildo.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: And then his wife's like, he doesn't like fried chicken.
- 5:05SPEAKER_00: I was like, yes, ma'am, we know he doesn't like black people either.
- 5:08SPEAKER_00: Um I like leaned over the stage and like leaned toward him, like, I'm not gonna let you like power trip me.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: You know what I'm saying?
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm gonna end this saying something about you that's gonna make the room laugh about you, and then that's gonna be the end of it.
- 5:26SPEAKER_00: That that is gonna be the end of it.
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: Um so yeah, it just you know, it is what it is.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: That was a great I can't I can't explain enough how great that was for me in in learning.
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: In learning.
- 5:41SPEAKER_00: That that was a that was a learning set.
- 5:44SPEAKER_00: Um what I want to talk about when people are approaching me, talking to me about crazy stuff, like cheating on their wives, and admitting it, to a dude talking the whole freaking set, telling me how much I freaking suck, and just going in on me.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: It's just like frick.
- 6:03SPEAKER_00: There was there was a lot to learn, a lot to gain from there.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: Overall, I think I give it like a six out of ten.
- 6:09SPEAKER_00: It was it was okay, it was a little bit, it was okay.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: Some parts of it were great, and then some parts of it were not great.
- 6:18SPEAKER_00: And I think that's just an honest rating.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: That's an honest rating.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: I need to get better, I need to get in the lab, write a little bit more, and be prepared for those moments where somebody's like that, where they're just railing you.
- 6:28SPEAKER_00: This guy, like, I don't think you guys understand.
- 6:31SPEAKER_00: Like, I've had hecklers before where they'll say something or mention something, and it's you know, semi-easy to shut down.
- 6:39SPEAKER_00: This guy was like, man, I want to heckle this guy so bad.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: This guy is terrible.
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: This guy is terrible.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: Worst Canadian I've ever seen.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: Like, it was this guy was like vicious, vicious heckler.
- 6:55SPEAKER_00: Unlike any I've ever seen.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: Absolutely vicious.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: Just gotta do better, man.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: I gotta have more more quips, more things to say.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: I need to get that in my bag.
- 7:11SPEAKER_00: Uh things to do when freaking that stuff happens, you know?
- 7:18SPEAKER_00: I was really looking forward to the show.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: And insanely looking forward to the show.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: We had almost 90 people at the show.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: It was freaking packed out, so freaking fun, such a good time, and I don't want to let that guy ruin it for me.
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I I don't wanna let that guy ruin it for me.
- 7:42SPEAKER_00: Not at all.
- 7:43SPEAKER_00: Not even in the slightest.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: I don't wanna let that guy ruin it for me.
- 7:47SPEAKER_00: So, I think, I think that yeah, I just gotta get back on the lab.
- 7:58SPEAKER_00: I gotta write.
- 8:00SPEAKER_00: I gotta write.
- 8:00SPEAKER_00: I gotta think about this.
- 8:02SPEAKER_00: This was great.
- 8:03SPEAKER_00: This was a great learning moment.
- 8:05SPEAKER_00: I feel like I'm saying that over and over again, but I'm I'm feeling it as I'm saying it.
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: You guys are getting the raw reaction to me settling into this.
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: I was preparing and writing so much for this set, and then I was forgetting stuff that was happening, and I was forgetting lines, and I was forgetting words during the middle of my set because he started to get to me a little bit, and I didn't know how I wanted to handle it, and that's just me being truthful.
- 8:30SPEAKER_00: That's just me being truthful, and I need to get that in my bag, I need to get that a part of my part of my freaking armory, dude.
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: Being able to handle peeps like that, because those those people are gonna be there, those people are gonna say that, those people are gonna do that, and you know, that's that's just a part of the game.
- 8:54SPEAKER_00: That's a part of the game.
- 8:55SPEAKER_00: And I'm glad that I was here with my friends to deal with that, to do that, and uh I'm proud of how I handled it.
- 9:02SPEAKER_00: You know, I didn't blow up, I didn't I I didn't give up because it was one moment, you know, where I actually interacted with him, and he you know, was like saying I I ran out of jokes, basically was his thing.
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: And then I just did like 20 jokes.
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: I just started firing, I just started firing jokes, and I did 20 jokes and I looked at him and I was like, well, there's 20 more.
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: There's 20 more jokes.
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: Like I have jokes, you know what I'm saying?
- 9:35SPEAKER_00: But for a second there, I almost was just like, man, imagine if I forgot the jokes in that moment and I just admitted defeat.
- 9:41SPEAKER_00: Man, I would have quit.
- 9:42SPEAKER_00: If I would have forgotten in that moment and my brain failed me, I would have quit.
- 9:46SPEAKER_00: I'd have been like, man, you just took me down, sir.
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: You just eliminated me, and now I'm now I'm as sad and depressed as you are, sir.
- 9:54SPEAKER_00: Now I'm as sad and depressed as your wife is, sir.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: That wife that's sitting next to you that seems like a lovely lady that is just trying to not get hit, you know?
- 10:05SPEAKER_00: You seem lovely.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: You seem lovely.
- 10:16SPEAKER_00: Frickin' frick.
- 10:20SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 10:22SPEAKER_00: Positive notes, purely positive notes.
- 10:25SPEAKER_00: The venue, you guys.
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: The venue was insane.
- 10:28SPEAKER_00: The venue was insane.
- 10:30SPEAKER_00: The people were amazing, they loved the show.
- 10:35SPEAKER_00: They loved the show, did not like the dark stuff at all.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: They did not like the dark stuff.
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: And we like the dark stuff was rough, let me tell you.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: Rough stuff, the dark stuff.
- 10:48SPEAKER_00: Um, but they loved the show, they loved the way I put the line up.
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: My friends did so good.
- 10:55SPEAKER_00: I'm so proud of them.
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: I'm so freaking proud of them.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: They did so good, and it's so cool to be in the scene and you get to see people that you're coming up with, see people that are ahead of you, and for me, surrounding myself with people that are better than me.
- 11:19SPEAKER_00: People that I respect, people that I people that I love, the camaraderie that we have, the heat wave comedy tour, man, it's it's unbelievable.
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: It's unbelievable.
- 11:30SPEAKER_00: And I'm so appreciative for all these for all these people coming along this journey with me.
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: That the heat wave comedy tour has been far and beyond the the most fun part of what I've done in comedy so far.
- 11:42SPEAKER_00: Being able to pull up to these shows, there's there's no gatekeepers, there's just us.
- 11:48SPEAKER_00: It's just us marketing ourselves, it's us making social media posts, it's up handing out flyers, it's us doing the legwork, it's us talking to the venue and having the equipment, it's us setting up, tearing down, it's us thanking people after the show, it's us doing everything, and it's so cool when we get to do that and and it's successful.
- 12:08SPEAKER_00: And when it's successful, it's like you're just so happy that it's successful.
- 12:14SPEAKER_00: We had this show, it was almost 90 people at this show, and it went as well as it possibly could have.
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: Honestly, like I know that like obviously I would have preferred there to not be a heckler there during my headlining set, like I get it, but but I'm not even truthfully, I'm happy that happened.
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: This taught me a lot.
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna say it went as well as it could have went.
- 12:38SPEAKER_00: That's what I'm gonna say.
- 12:39SPEAKER_00: And I'm happy and I'm thankful that it did go that way, and I'm very happy and I'm thankful that I have these great people around me that are killing it.
- 12:49SPEAKER_00: So, shout out to all the Heat Wave comedy people.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: Shout out John Frazier for being our guest.
- 12:54SPEAKER_00: Thank you guys so much for being our guest.
- 12:57SPEAKER_00: I mean, that was that was freaking so that was freaking so fun.
- 13:02SPEAKER_00: Uh, other things, uh kind of have a little bit of uh, I don't know, a freaking commercial that I just kind of got booked for.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: This like sponsored commercial that I'm really excited about.
- 13:14SPEAKER_00: You guys are gonna see it, it's gonna come out soon.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: Uh I got an audio headphone sponsor.
- 13:23SPEAKER_00: I mean, there's nothing else to say but that.
- 13:26SPEAKER_00: Commodity podcast, we're leveling up.
- 13:29SPEAKER_00: I'm leveling up.
- 13:30SPEAKER_00: Dave Thompson's leveling up.
- 13:32SPEAKER_00: Uh it's such a great opportunity, and I'm very grateful for them for uh letting me do it.
- 13:37SPEAKER_00: And I'm excited to get it going.
- 13:39SPEAKER_00: So it's just uh I think what do we say?
- 13:43SPEAKER_00: A couple weeks?
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, probably in a couple weeks, it'll be out.
- 13:46SPEAKER_00: We'll we'll check it out.
- 13:48SPEAKER_00: You guys will be able to see it.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: And I'm just yeah, I'm just I'm just super excited.
- 13:52SPEAKER_00: I got more stuff coming out about the IE comedy festival, which I'm so stoked about.
- 13:57SPEAKER_00: Not only are we gonna have a ton of local comics, we're gonna have opportunities for people to come in, and we're doing a joke writing class, and we're just gonna just encourage people to freaking keep going, or maybe tear some people down and get some people kicked out that freaking suck.
- 14:13SPEAKER_00: Um, not really like that, but no, like I really want it to be a great thing, a camaraderie thing, us going out to eat thing, uh, us uh providing this these jokes for our community and really just leaning into the role that we have as comics to be amazing in our community and to bring laughs where there's people that are struggling.
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: You know, like even tonight, there was a family there that was celebrating the life of uh a father, a husband, an uncle, and we got to cheers with them, and we got to love on them a little bit, and and that was wonderful.
- 14:51SPEAKER_00: And that's what it's all about, y'all.
- 14:52SPEAKER_00: Bringing people together, giving them a good laugh.
- 14:54SPEAKER_00: So thank you.
- 14:56SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much, you guys.
- 14:57SPEAKER_00: I appreciate you guys, Carmenians.
- 14:58SPEAKER_00: Love you guys, see you next time.
