Latest / Niner Noise Podcast on the 49ers / 49ers look to tame the Broncos in pivotal Week 4 matchup at Levi's Stadium
Transcript
- 0:03[SPEAKER_01]: Hello, hello, and welcome to another edition of the Ninernoy's podcast part of the fancited podcast network.
- 0:09[SPEAKER_01]: My name is Robert Morrison, a contributor at Ninernoy's.com, and here with me fellow contributor, Mr. Aksha, it's Dividula, Aksha's, how are we doing?
- 0:19[SPEAKER_00]: We're good Robert, you know, it's a, it's been an eventful 49ers week.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_00]: So to speak, just sort of, it always is sifting through from all over the interest and everything else, a couple big reunions, but we're getting to what matters game day.
- 0:35[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm really excited.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: It's a great game.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, I wish the Niners were healthier for it.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm going to play the Denver Broncos, but
- 0:43[SPEAKER_00]: And this was at the start of the year, I think, something we thought of as a benchmark game.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_00]: Still is, especially for this offense.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm excited to see sort of how they perform.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, um, this is obviously the 4003rd straight home game after opening up the season in Australia, against the Rams.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_01]: Um, you mentioned the benchmark thing.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_01]: I think,
- 1:07[SPEAKER_01]: think.
- 1:09[SPEAKER_01]: The expectation is this would have been like benchmark number two of the season after the opening week, although I think there's a case to be made and still possibly a case to be made that there's a little to be gained from the what you learned in week one for a lot of reasons.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_01]: Usually isn't much to gain from week one and the circumstances that might make it even more so, but as we'll talk about, there are some reasons that this will be possibly the most difficult
- 1:38[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so they'll play this game then they're in Seattle next week and then they're back home for Monday night against the commanders Before they play Atlanta and then I believe it's the by week after that, so Good stretch that I feel like and this is you know 50 40,000 feet I have a high airplane's why it's really high up in the air
- 2:01[SPEAKER_01]: thing, but you got to feel like if the 49ers win this game, they stand a really good chance of being, maybe not undefeated, but certainly maybe like a one last team heading into the by week, which given circumstances would be absolutely fantastic.
- 2:16[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, definitely.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the fort, like if we take what were the quote unquote, three hardest games from the stretch, the Rams, the Broncos, and the Seahawks.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: I think realistically we were all expecting like somewhere one in two maybe, you know like hopefully better but one and you can't lose all of them.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_00]: 49ers already bank their win right so in the way they're playing a little bit with the house money here but yeah I mean it would be a if they can pull out one of the next two games ideally both if they had to choose one you know.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_00]: Preferably to see out a one, and then beat the commanders in the end to the buy.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they're in prime position, right?
- 2:58[SPEAKER_00]: They're already in pretty great position, right?
- 3:01[SPEAKER_00]: The offense is shown, but that's a that's a major win for this stretch schedule
- 3:05[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't think anybody would have been like, um, you know, five and two, right?
- 3:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, uh, seven games.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_01]: I think if everybody, everybody in like five and two, go into the buy good deal.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_01]: So any any further along, you can get there if you're like six and one.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_01]: I think then you're feeling pretty good about yourselves.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_01]: But obviously they have to take care of business today.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_01]: Or on Sunday against the Broncos, we'll talk about that in more detail and just a little bit.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_01]: Some news and notes and other fun things.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_01]: First, you mentioned some returns.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_01]: We'll start with the possibly the most surprising return.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_01]: I have to say, there was a lot of Skuddlebud about the team bringing in a large group of wide receivers and defense
- 3:49[SPEAKER_01]: lineman i can't imagine why they would need players that position oxas is just shocking um... they have about a million wider severs uh... but they brought in a bunch for uh... for tryouts and for workouts and stuff one of whom was jerry rices sun who they
- 4:06[SPEAKER_01]: I feel like they keep trying to make that a thing like whenever the opportunity comes in that the kid just doesn't, maybe just doesn't have it enough and it's fine like it is what it is.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_01]: I feel things the same with Trello and Skid, like everyone's in a while, the Huff's an open trial and they'll both show up and neither one of them will make the team and it's like,
- 4:24[SPEAKER_01]: I get what's trying to do, but maybe, maybe stop.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_01]: Instead, they went with a completely different direction in Oxa as I cannot say I had this on my bingo card for 26, but Dante Pettis is back.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_01]: He's just on the practice squad, but the, is a fair to call him much maligned second round pick.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_01]: From a couple of years ago, Shanahan was really excited about him.
- 4:47[SPEAKER_01]: I think a lot of us were very excited about him as a player.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, like injuries and just like underperformance, and he kept getting himself in shanahan's doghouse, which we know is not terribly difficult to do, if you if you don't follow the rules and expectations, when he's back, he's on the practice squad, it doesn't mean that he's going to play, but it is interesting to have him back.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_01]: He's been a fairly productive player in his time since he left the 49ers, certainly not up to like the second round pick situation that he was drafted in, but if he was interesting to have him back, I think
- 5:18[SPEAKER_01]: He can provide something that this team doesn't have if he's given the chance to play, but I don't know.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_01]: We'll see.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, Dante Pettis is the first product of the...
- 5:32[SPEAKER_00]: of the Kyle Shanahan finishing school for white receivers.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: We can also call the dog house.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, right, right.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_00]: That was like he was the first example of how Shanahan coaches receivers part.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, a lot of promise.
- 5:48[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, it didn't work out in his first and we'll always have that a game against the Steelers that touched down Grant to win the game when Jimmy G threw to him.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_00]: I was at that game.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: So I remember very well.
- 6:02[SPEAKER_00]: And I will also remember, I was also at the Bears Game where he was on the Bears, caught like a wide open 60-yard touchdown against the 49th.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_01]: Is that the monsoon game?
- 6:13[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_00]: So, you know, he's been around.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: He, you know, their memories all associated.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: I think, you know, the team needs bodies, obviously, and Pettis has some familiarity.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_00]: Playbooks change over time, but, you know, he's not walking into something completely doesn't understand.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: He always had sort of the juice per se, right?
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: It was never, I think as we have now as the Shanahan like project has continued to grow, we see what he wants and what I perceive, which is great rap runners, but like,
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: block what physical blockers.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_00]: And I think it, you know, not to disparage Dante Pettis at all.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_00]: I think that part of the game was not like his strong suit coming out of college and shane hand really drills that like there's a lot of like particularity and how you block.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_00]: the physicality use how you run routes.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_00]: And so, like, it just wasn't the best match over time.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, Petta's now is he's no longer like a young rookie, trying to like make his way.
- 7:19[SPEAKER_00]: He's a, he's a grizzled bat coming back.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, his ears didn't say.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_00]: It wasn't impressive.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: So, I think that perspective might,
- 7:29[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, the perspective changes what the team is expecting out of him, but I mean, I think it's a net good, right?
- 7:36[SPEAKER_00]: He was probably one of the best receivers out on the free Asian market right now.
- 7:40[SPEAKER_00]: In terms of Tuesday, it's still to give.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_00]: So, it's a fun story.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't anticipate it.
- 7:46[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, I mean, it'll be, I really hope he's wearing a number 18 again.
- 7:52[SPEAKER_00]: I think I think he was
- 7:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, uh, I think you're right and all that.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_01]: He just, like, I wonder if Shane Hans saw the route running ability and thought I could teach him to play with some toughness and some edge and he just never got there, right?
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: It was just like it was all finesse with him, uh, and which is fine.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_01]: Like you need that everyone's in a while, but also if you're going to get like real snaps and Kyle Shane Hans offense, like you have to
- 8:25[SPEAKER_01]: at least make the effort to be a good blocker and I'm not sure that that ever was really something that worked out for him.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_01]: So maybe something he's learned since he was gone with the team.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, good to know.
- 8:37[SPEAKER_01]: All right.
- 8:38[SPEAKER_01]: So he's back.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_01]: A Malik Turner also back to the practice squad and the reason that he is back.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_01]: So I'll kind of put all these three things together.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_01]: So we got four wide receiver moves all in one.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_01]: on one go.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_01]: Mleek Turner is back because Brandon Cooks was added to the 53-man roster because Kadero Hodge was released with an injury settlement, he had an injury that was, I guess they assumed was going to force him to go on injured reserve and as we talked about this team just doesn't have any injured reserve spots so essentially Brandon Cooks
- 9:19[SPEAKER_01]: B.A.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_01]: Insurance Policy for my Gavans, Malik Turner comes in to be the Cadero Hodge replacement as a special teamer and then you have Tettis as like a break in case of emergency opportunity if they if they really feel like like if the if the water's super core is going to be like Debo Samuel and Brandon cooks and and Malik Turner and Jacob Cowling and and and Jordan Watson maybe they're like, well, let's see if Tettis can
- 9:47[SPEAKER_01]: kind of jump in there and add something, but unfortunate for Hodge who I thought was very useful as a special teamer, but I think a good opportunity we talked about this last time with Brandon Cooks for him to really show something that like he has something that the rest of this offense doesn't have and that's just like straight line speed, like go and get it and I think given the way that Brock Perti has been successful as a thorough of the ball deep down the field, he might
- 10:18[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, definitely.
- 10:18[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I fully expect, like, obviously they signed Brandon because of injuries, but I don't anticipate him leaving this team.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: you know, like, I don't know what machinations they'll do to keep him aware, but he, I mean, he is what on offense, the 49ers have won a Jacob Cowen to be, and that's like very valuable for his team.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_00]: So I like, I think I said when he signed, I'm fully expecting one of these games is going to be like 130 yards too touched down.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know which one if I did, I would make a lot of money, but yeah, it's just,
- 10:58[SPEAKER_00]: like, I totally agree.
- 11:00[SPEAKER_00]: I also agree with like, it's unfortunate that Keteral Hodge had the injury in his release, and you look great on special teams.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it was like, I feel like once again, you saw a big hit, and then he'd like strumming guitar, that was a solid version, you were like, oh, so, well, turners are pro, you know, he's done this before.
- 11:19[SPEAKER_00]: So, I think the team will keep it on, keep it gone, but been unfortunate for Hodge, I think, you know, got an opportunity
- 11:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_01]: For sure.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not to get too far into speculation zone, but I wonder if the team thinks that Christian Kirk is actually not going to be able to come back.
- 11:41[SPEAKER_00]: I completely forgot about her.
- 11:43[SPEAKER_00]: That is a, you know what?
- 11:47[SPEAKER_01]: And Brandon cooks is here on for the express purpose of if Christian Kirk can't actually come back because it's a calf injury and it's obviously
- 11:56[SPEAKER_01]: Like three months now, it's been a really long time, and I wonder if they're just like, we can't, we can't bank on him, make an actual return and making any difference on this team.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's definitely true that you can't bank on it.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: So that probably is more true that it's like insurance, but man, I completely forgot who's on the team.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_01]: That's because he got hurt like the first day of training camp, but we haven't seen him since then.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, really unfortunate for him, especially given the fact that he was coming off a really down season last year and everybody was kind of like, yeah, you know, fine, like I guess.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I imagine,
- 12:34[SPEAKER_01]: The guy that he's been is like the fourth receiver on this team would have been pretty good, but I don't know.
- 12:38[SPEAKER_01]: I think I'm okay.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_01]: Like Brandon cooks over Christian Kirk to be honest with you.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_01]: If that ends up being how this shakes out.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, you know, I mean, I'd want to see what Kirk does in a game because I think he has sort of that flexibility to be that big slot like Mike is doing.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_00]: And then you can sort of move everyone around.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I mean, like Brandon cooks, if he's
- 13:02[SPEAKER_00]: You know, if he has the juice that I think we're, we both are assuming he still has, like, only Jacob Coward has that same juice on this team.
- 13:13[SPEAKER_00]: But I mean, the right Superroom is just so many questions of life.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_00]: Someone's going to come back with that going to do here here.
- 13:21[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, like, you know, like I almost forgot the design dribbling is like, yeah, working in the bed.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_00]: It's just,
- 13:29[SPEAKER_00]: I don't even, I don't, it's hard to admit like this room is going to look very different five weeks from now 10 weeks now.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 13:36[SPEAKER_00]: So it's hard to tell what you want to act, like what pieces you want to keep, like a stripling's back, do you need Brandon Cooks if you have like, now someone who is like a straight line burner?
- 13:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 13:46[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_00]: Like hard to say for sure.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you know, thinking about that, like, do you want, like, does Brandon Cook and obviously this is,
- 13:55[SPEAKER_01]: eight weeks into the future, more than that possibly, is it something like, where Brandon cooks, if he's playing well, gives you the opportunity to sort of edge, struggling back into the fold, as opposed to like, okay, well, you're back kid, let's go, see which got, I don't know.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's, you're right, it is gonna be a position to watch because the room is already,
- 14:17[SPEAKER_01]: like half different like and it was it feels like i mean very similar to the defensive line where a lot of the guys that were there at the start of the 53 man uh cuts are not there anymore for whatever reason um but yeah it's it's there all right um two more bits of news brock party just racking up the accolades
- 14:37[SPEAKER_01]: to start the season.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_01]: He is the winner of the FedEx Air and Ground Player of the Week award for his performance against the Cardinals.
- 14:45[SPEAKER_01]: I believe that's multiple times that he's won that already, but I could be wrong about that.
- 14:50[SPEAKER_01]: And he also was awarded the player of the month for September for the entire, or the offensive player of the month for the entirety of September.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_01]: how good he has been so far and it's just like really cool to see him get recognized in that way.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, I don't really know if he needs to deserve to go on against Arizona, but well, that whole thing is fan voted, so do without what you will.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_00]: I think, you know, good job faithful, everyone listening to this way to go.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, she's clearly
- 15:37[SPEAKER_00]: He's clearly been the best in quarterback in the NFL over the first few weeks.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_00]: I think that's definitively true.
- 15:44[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Arizona game was a bit of like a reversion back to like a little older Brock.
- 15:50[SPEAKER_00]: So, I guess not.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_00]: If the first two weeks were like peak Brock, which is working Brock, plus a bit of like later Brock, then last week was a little bit of a...
- 16:03[SPEAKER_00]: of last year's Brock, which is worse than peak Brock, but maybe better than rookie Brock?
- 16:08[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_00]: A lot of Brock parties to work through all of those things.
- 16:13[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of versions of himself and his such a short time.
- 16:17[SPEAKER_00]: I think you know, if he plays like he did week two, we're like we're gonna be just fine.
- 16:24[SPEAKER_00]: week three I think was little worse, but obviously I think the Brock has made a good point of this like.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_00]: that Cardinals defense is just confusing.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_00]: Like this is the way it's set up.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_00]: So, you kind of have those moments where you just aren't sure what you're seeing.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_00]: So, I mean, I'm excited.
- 16:42[SPEAKER_00]: He's playing really well.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's time to push the MVP talk.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_00]: Josh Allen had terrible game.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, the bill's won, but still, you know.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_00]: It's clear, it's clear who the best quarterback in the NFL is.
- 16:54[SPEAKER_00]: And I honest to God, can say, I did not ever expect to say that
- 17:00[SPEAKER_00]: even though he's like, our quarterback.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and that's quarterback.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_00]: I just like, that was never something I thought would be meaningful like addition, sure, to like our disco.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_00]: So super excited.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_01]: Well, and the question was always, did he have to be the best quarterback in NFL to succeed?
- 17:17[SPEAKER_01]: And now I kind of think you're saying, because I mean, and there are still people who are on the like, oh, well, it's just the shenanigans offense and he makes all the quarterbacks look good and like, yeah, but no, like, outside of Matt Ryan in 2016 when they won the Super Bowl.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_01]: like nobody has looked like this and maybe I guess you could make the case that Brock Brock when he was in the MVP finalist list that was probably out as close as as Shanahan has come to to that but again I like yes does it help does this does the offense help elevate
- 17:53[SPEAKER_01]: like mediocre or mid quarterbacks and make them look better than they probably are.
- 17:58[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, but there is a case to be made and I think we're watching it in front of our eyes so far this season that if a player has the ability to elevate the offense that the two can work in tandem.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_01]: just like getting to otherworldly levels.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_01]: Obviously it's been three weeks and we have to pump the rakes on that a little bit, but I think there's something to be said that one can elevate, that it doesn't, it's not always like the Shane Hanoffence Elevates the quarterback and that's the only option here, that both things can be true at the same time.
- 18:26[SPEAKER_00]: Oh definitely, we can go back to like 49th history, right?
- 18:30[SPEAKER_00]: Like,
- 18:31[SPEAKER_00]: Joe Montana and Bill Walsh when Steve Young and like the Walsh Ottons.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_00]: It's like the same sort of like mesh, right?
- 18:40[SPEAKER_00]: Like the system is phenomenal, but the quarterback who unlocks it is what makes it like even that much better, where that's just the way that a like the NFL works.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_00]: You know, like Sean these offense was great.
- 18:52[SPEAKER_00]: It looks so much better with Matthew Stappard to Stafford unlocks it.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_00]: Same thing with
- 19:00[SPEAKER_00]: I guess like Joe Brady and Josh Allen.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, my homes.
- 19:03[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, within Andy Reed.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_00]: It's like it's the same thing right like good quarterback add to an offensive scheme.
- 19:10[SPEAKER_00]: And then the offensive scheme can expand to accommodate the quarterback.
- 19:14[SPEAKER_00]: So yeah, I'm totally agree right.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_00]: Like I think Brock has made this offensive zone, but they shanahan is trusted him to do that and you like you're seeing the results on being.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, absolutely.
- 19:26[SPEAKER_01]: Again, well, we are tempering and recognizing it's been three games.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_01]: One of which was against one of the worst defenses in the NFL, but we also have to say he's playing really well and we're glad for the recognition and hope people will stop saying silly things.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_01]: All right, so let's go ahead and dive
- 19:45[SPEAKER_01]: into the Bronco's game.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_01]: It is, I think pretty much the field has been cleared.
- 19:49[SPEAKER_01]: They moved.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_01]: Was it the Bears Packers game out of the four o'clock window?
- 19:55[SPEAKER_00]: All of the Raiders' Chiefs are playing here.
- 19:58[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, but it's, but it's basically like those two games, I think.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_00]: I think CBS has the rights to vote.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, interesting.
- 20:06[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, it is, is some crazy.
- 20:08[SPEAKER_00]: The four youngers are not on the, like, national broadcast, I believe.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you know, that's what I mean, everything's national, but you know, yeah, that's what I'm paying money for I suppose.
- 20:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so there in part of this is there's a London game on Sunday.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_01]: So there's a real long extension.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're the only other the other games in that in the in the late window or dolphins Vikings, that's the Fox game and then CBS has the rest of them.
- 20:43[SPEAKER_01]: which is the Niners Broncos, Chiefs Raiders, and then Seahawks Chargers switch gecks.
- 20:52[SPEAKER_01]: And then the Sun and Night Football will be here in the Carolinas for the first time in like a decade, I think they've been saying, which is wild.
- 21:01[SPEAKER_01]: Anyway, so let's talk about this matchup.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_01]: As we always do, we'll talk about it with our reasons for optimism and our reasons for concern.
- 21:08[SPEAKER_01]: For the game, Oggshas, I will kick it over to you to get us started with the reasons for optimism.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I mean, so.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_00]: Well, this is going to be, I think we both use this sort of dichotomy, right?
- 21:22[SPEAKER_00]: Like, this is a strength on strength weakness on weakness game.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_00]: So, I'm going to focus on what I think the Broncos weaknesses and then when we talk about concern, we're going to talk about the Broncos strength.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the Broncos offense did not look phenomenal over the last three weeks.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_00]: I think the 40 men are having an opportunity to sort of
- 21:41[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously the defense is going through some personal challenges, but it's not the worst match-up for them to try to stabilize.
- 21:51[SPEAKER_00]: Now these stats are kind of skewed by a week-one game against the cheese that the Broncos look abysmal in and they look much better against the Rams, so I would like flag that.
- 22:00[SPEAKER_00]: But I mean, you look at Bonax, he
- 22:04[SPEAKER_00]: He's only completing 60% of his passes, 200 yards of game.
- 22:09[SPEAKER_00]: Four touchdowns, three interceptions, five sacks.
- 22:12[SPEAKER_00]: That's not like, that's not scary in you, right?
- 22:15[SPEAKER_00]: That is like workable.
- 22:16[SPEAKER_00]: The running game hasn't been much better.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_00]: They're running backs have largely averaged, less than five yards of carry.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_00]: J.K. Dobbins, who has the most carries, is less than, is that three and a half.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_00]: RJ Harvey is at five, but he's only has five carries.
- 22:31[SPEAKER_00]: That's a small sample size.
- 22:33[SPEAKER_00]: There was severs have not been that exceptional either, you know, they made a big trade for jail and water, it was tremendous speed, like that is something to be concerned about, but he only has 150 yards on the game on the season, no touchdowns, you know,
- 22:54[SPEAKER_00]: Sean Peyton is not to pay play call or any more, it's Davis Webb, who's calling place for the first time.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_00]: And it's just been a work in progress.
- 23:01[SPEAKER_00]: So I think the 49ers defense, you know.
- 23:05[SPEAKER_00]: They're not going to be able to get home with the past rush, but I think if they can contain, they have a pretty good chance of being able to slow down.
- 23:15[SPEAKER_00]: This Broncos offense that's already kind of scuffling.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_00]: And what that does is they'll give your offense, which we'll talk more about, like the 49ers officers, so I'm an absolute heater.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_00]: More opportunities to go up against what has been historically very, very good Denver defense.
- 23:30[SPEAKER_00]: But I want to quickly check
- 23:34[SPEAKER_00]: the like Rams Denver score and sort of that game because it's they scored 30 points there right so it's a very different game as a pig sex in there there's a pig sex in there from 4449 in Tologna who found it so a lot of reunion in this game to find the mic and clinchie uh... dragon law and back again
- 23:56[SPEAKER_00]: That's true.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_00]: But I mean, like, if we look at like the Broncos, I mean, sure, the Ram's defense is probably like better than the 49ers defense in terms of like health.
- 24:07[SPEAKER_00]: Right now, but I mean, bone X 50% completions, two touchdowns and interception, one Russian touchdown.
- 24:13[SPEAKER_00]: No one, no running back average more than three yards of carry.
- 24:19[SPEAKER_00]: No receiver had more than like 50 yards.
- 24:22[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, their the offense is just stuffling.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_00]: So that is the 49ers way here is that their weakness, which is their defense way might actually be able to hold up against the Broncos offense and it's the 49ers can play that to a draw and even a win.
- 24:38[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that like unlocks the rest of the game for them.
- 24:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, um, that was one of the things that I I had down here to is just this like streaky nature, like they kind of disappear for long periods of time and even like the Rams game they were
- 24:54[SPEAKER_01]: blown out was 16, nothing and a half time, right?
- 24:57[SPEAKER_01]: And then obviously the pick six and a couple of other things happened that their defense being a little bit more opportunistic in those moments sort of changed the tide and that sort of thing.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_01]: I think the big thing with their offense is you got to make sure that Bonyx is contained.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_01]: That's the thing that you said.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be, I think, very similar to guys that the 49ers have,
- 25:21[SPEAKER_01]: have dealt with in the past.
- 25:23[SPEAKER_01]: I don't, he's not quite the athlete that like a Kyler Murray is, or Russell Wilson was, but I think very similar kind of thing where if you keep him in the pocket and you force him to play it to be like kind of a one dimensional guy, you have a bunch better chance of like holding him down because where he becomes dangerous is, he starts dancing around in the back in the backfield and he starts making plays with his legs and not always, not necessarily like running the ball but like extending plays.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_01]: Because, you know, Jalen Lottel and Cortland Sutton are a talented group of wider severs and they got players on this team and I think that's probably the thing that's confusing people the most is like why isn't their offense better?
- 25:59[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of people are blaming date as well.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_01]: It's like Sean Payton just did the right thing and to over off it's a play calling again they'd be fine.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_01]: But that is certainly something to keep in mind.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_01]: The other thing is that their run defense has been really bad.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_01]: So far this season.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_01]: They are 30th in yards per carry allowed 5.1, one yards per carry.
- 26:19[SPEAKER_01]: Oxas I'm not good at math, but if you give up 5 yards per carry, you're pretty much going to give up a first down every other time that you let somebody run the ball.
- 26:26[SPEAKER_01]: They are also 30th in runs in yards per game.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_01]: So it isn't like a situation where they're giving up a lot of yards, but maybe the volume is a problem.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_01]: They're averaging allowed 143, almost 144 yards per game.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_01]: and success on a per run basis.
- 26:45[SPEAKER_01]: There are also last in the NFL in EPA per rush that's expected points added.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_01]: So it just suggests that when teams try to run the ball in them, they are having a lot of success and
- 26:59[SPEAKER_01]: The 49ers towards the end of last week, we're starting to show that, hey, maybe the run game is starting to catch a little bit of get a little toe hold in the game in the season.
- 27:12[SPEAKER_01]: And if that is the case, plus this kind of toward showing of the Broncos defense so far, yeah, gotta wonder if this is a, this is a game where Shane Han goes, okay, we're getting to 35 runs today, guys, or 40 runs, and like that's how we're gonna win this game.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_00]: It's definitely possible, I mean, it's absolutely possible, and I think like the run game is a real valuable sort of way for the 49ers to attack this, especially because and this will help us segue a little bit to our reasons for concern, like the Broncos past defense is good.
- 27:47[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, like, and it's not, and past defense is a bit of a misnomer here.
- 27:52[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the full package, right?
- 27:53[SPEAKER_00]: Like, when you are dropping back to pass against the Debra Broncos, you are in trouble.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_00]: That is where they're at their best, right?
- 28:00[SPEAKER_00]: They have the best corned back in the NFL and Pat's routine.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's the best, you know, you can make an argument for a couple of people.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_00]: But he's right up there.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he will shut down like he'll travel and shut someone down.
- 28:11[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know who, maybe that's my Kevin's and I got a bench on my fantasy team.
- 28:15[SPEAKER_00]: But like he's phenomenal.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_00]: Their password, I think has been less good than in three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three, three,
- 28:31[SPEAKER_00]: And then, you know, who found their safety, their other coroners, like they've invested in the secondary.
- 28:38[SPEAKER_00]: And so they have the ability to really slow down offenses that way.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Matthew staff are through for 400 yards.
- 28:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yes against the blockings.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_00]: But 50% completion, 55% completion percentage.
- 28:50[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, 200 exceptions.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_00]: That's not a, but that's not a good game for Matthew staffer by any means.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_00]: So I think you will
- 29:00[SPEAKER_00]: You know, the 49ers with their receiver concerns, you get this worry that like, okay, do they even have like a coward they're going to be able to like.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_00]: stack up weapons wise against this Broncos defense in the second.
- 29:14[SPEAKER_00]: And like it's hard, you know, you start drawing like the, like imagine they do a man-tovers thing, right?
- 29:19[SPEAKER_00]: Like who found those on Kittle or McAfrey?
- 29:22[SPEAKER_00]: You know, you'd like to think that Kittle and McAfrey win that, you know, it's really becomes like, you go down to the list and you're like, oh, I don't know about that matchup.
- 29:32[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know about this matchup.
- 29:33[SPEAKER_00]: I really like,
- 29:36[SPEAKER_00]: The wide receiver is not anticipating to have a very good game, just because of how good this Denver secondary is.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_00]: So it's a, it's a real sort of, it's a real concern, I think, but going to what you said about the running game, like the team has the ability to sort of.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_00]: leading on that shorting the game, protect your defense, you know, win time and possession, which they haven't won the last two weeks, I think so.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_00]: That would be nice.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, they've been so explosive.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_00]: It hasn't mattered, but this could be a real like, imposer will game and for that reason, I'm very excited to see how the 49ers approach it,
- 30:24[SPEAKER_00]: starts to look more like he did last year where it's very gunslinder, you know, not playing within the offense.
- 30:29[SPEAKER_00]: Like he can give the Denver Grotto's 14 points.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_00]: Sure, with an intersection here, a fumble there, and like the game gets derailed.
- 30:36[SPEAKER_00]: All right, that's what happened to the ramps, right?
- 30:37[SPEAKER_00]: It's essentially a issue there.
- 30:39[SPEAKER_00]: So I mean, that's the, that's the concern you're fighting against.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, allowing just under 70 yards per pass attempt.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_01]: 237 yards per game in the passing game just for four passing touchdowns and four interceptions so far for this team you notice you noted the past rush eight sacks so far this season
- 31:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's just it's a they are if this is a like you don't want to challenge them in the passing game if you don't have to And that's why I think it's very good news that they have an area like I don't think Last year you would have looked at this team and gone, oh well, there's an obvious area and their defense that can be exploited And it doesn't mean that they don't have the the personnel to like do better than they have so far But it's I mean
- 31:31[SPEAKER_01]: that like you cannot get into a passing game with this team, I think it just fits like the overall concept of basically doing to the Broncos what teams have done to them with to the 49ers so far this year, especially with the Dolphins and the Cardinals, which isn't to suggest that the 49ers are like significantly worse than the Broncos and they have to like,
- 31:53[SPEAKER_01]: Park the bus, so to speak, to borrow a soccer term, that's what bad soccer teams do when they're playing a bunch of better teams.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_01]: They're just like, we're just gonna pack it in and stop you from scoring and hope that maybe we can score a goal without on a, you know, skin and opportunity and they come, I'm not suggesting that.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_01]: What I am suggesting is that they can use one of the strengths of the team, which is the offense and their ability to ball control when needed and use that to keep,
- 32:21[SPEAKER_01]: control of the game, something we haven't really seen them do so far this season.
- 32:26[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, definitely.
- 32:27[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, right, that's the way for this team to, I mean, that is sort of when you have
- 32:34[SPEAKER_00]: either an explosive offense, but we're not seeing Denver hands, or you have a defense that is like aggressive and attacks.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_00]: What you want is you want to sort of put them on their heels, right?
- 32:45[SPEAKER_00]: There are two types of defenses at the NFL.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_00]: I think you would agree, Robert, the most basic sense, right?
- 32:51[SPEAKER_00]: There are defenses that sort of sit back and like wait for the offense to make a mistake.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_00]: and their defenses that like try to force mistakes themselves.
- 33:02[SPEAKER_00]: And like this is a bit simplistic, but like the best example of a defense that forces mistakes in my view was like blindfolders, right?
- 33:10[SPEAKER_00]: Like his Minnesota defense exists to like
- 33:15[SPEAKER_00]: make you like do something like he wants to dictate the terms of the game and sure that my word the Broncos I think are not like that per se but they're a little more like that right like they're aggressive they're trying to get after you on defense you know
- 33:32[SPEAKER_00]: they're not really like sitting back and sort of smothering you like they're trying to they're trying to win games through defense and how do you counteract that it's exactly like you said you um you just like you sort of like take the will out of it really like you beat them down in the ground you wear them out you take your shots and I mean the 49ers can't play this game they will have to play games like this right you know you're not going to win a Super Bowl
- 33:59[SPEAKER_00]: You're just throwing the ball at 50 times up in the field.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_00]: That's good.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_00]: You know, so this is like, it's a good test in this way, right?
- 34:07[SPEAKER_00]: This is probably the best defense the team is going to has face so far.
- 34:12[SPEAKER_00]: You know, depending on how we feel until next week.
- 34:15[SPEAKER_00]: Then yeah, well, depending on how we feel about denture versus the Seattle could be the entire season, probably not unfortunately.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_00]: So it's like it's a real, it's a real litmus test for this offense and a great opportunity because one of the things that we've been concerned about is the run game.
- 34:34[SPEAKER_00]: Well, this is a great opportunity to just sort of expand and really like hammer home.
- 34:39[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe a big kill on black game.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_01]: I was just about to say that.
- 34:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I think Caleb Black will definitely have a big role to play in this.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_01]: I could see
- 34:48[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe not exactly the split that we saw against the Rams, but I think a similar kind of situation where they want to run the ball, you know, 30 plus times, but they also want, they've also shown that they want to give McAfrey some opportunity to rest and not to carry the ball all the time.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_01]: So you could see a certain situation where you got 10 plus carries for Kale and Black in a game like this, especially if
- 35:15[SPEAKER_01]: you could see his direct running style.
- 35:17[SPEAKER_01]: We've talked about the the contrast between the two already and like that difference between the the the way that McAfee runs the ball and the way that black runs the ball could be very useful in a game like this.
- 35:30[SPEAKER_00]: Definitely.
- 35:31[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I think that sort of hard-nosed physicality is going to be necessary to set the time.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_00]: So like
- 35:41[SPEAKER_00]: You know, using black sort of like softened up the defense and McAfee is your finisher.
- 35:46[SPEAKER_00]: That would be the way I would approach it.
- 35:48[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, the miners will do whatever they do, but I really like, most double-digit carries for sure.
- 35:54[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully it's first NFL touchdown.
- 35:56[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I keep getting, I keep getting sad for him when they get close to the the end zone.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_01]: It's like, oh, he's almost got gotten in a couple of times that'd be nice to see.
- 36:06[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, and ultimately, in some ways that also opens up the past game, I mean, we love Talonov Fonga, like, but we also know that he is,
- 36:16[SPEAKER_01]: He's he can be like baited a little bit, especially if you get him into the like paying attention to the run game a lot and if they're able to run the run the ball successfully and he starts to feel like I got to come down and I got to come down and I got to come down and then all of a sudden George Kittle over the top or maybe ran and cooks over the top.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_01]: You know, someone to open up the past game.
- 36:36[SPEAKER_01]: So, as we've talked about, I don't anticipate them throwing the ball a bunch in this game and, you know, that'll hurt Brock Party's MVP consideration.
- 36:46[SPEAKER_01]: I'm sure people will talk well, you know, he's not that important, that, that, that, that.
- 36:50[SPEAKER_01]: But you got to do what you got to do to win the game.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's the most important part of this from the Fourier Irish perspective, leading with the running game seems like the way to go there.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_00]: 100%.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you know, you got to win games, right?
- 37:03[SPEAKER_00]: Like being a five and two, like this one, having to wait, that doesn't sound great.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_01]: They'll be foreign out if they win this game.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_00]: Or no, yeah.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_00]: I was like, wait, the buy, what I got.
- 37:16[SPEAKER_01]: I know we got, we, the earlier conversation was definitely thrown out for sure.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_00]: But you know, like if you view the NFL season as like quadrants, which was really easy to do before the 17th game came in and like And I guess one one extra game in one of the caught quadrants.
- 37:33[SPEAKER_00]: But like, you want to think about it in quadrants.
- 37:35[SPEAKER_00]: Like, the first quadrant is establishing yourself.
- 37:38[SPEAKER_00]: The second two are like continuing your thing.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_00]: And the fourth one you want to peek for the playoffs.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_00]: Four and I was as good as you can do.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_00]: And this would be a really talented, like, flolly four and I'll write you to care business against the team you had to.
- 37:50[SPEAKER_00]: And against teams that are more of your illic.
- 37:52[SPEAKER_00]: You stood up to them.
- 37:53[SPEAKER_00]: So I think,
- 37:57[SPEAKER_00]: Like the team is progressing nicely when just continuing to invest in that, that's going to be important.
- 38:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I'm excited.
- 38:06[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's going to be, it's going to be a real fun game.
- 38:08[SPEAKER_00]: I saw some outlandish predictions.
- 38:12[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, yeah, like what did what there was.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_00]: What?
- 38:16[SPEAKER_00]: 55 to 10?
- 38:17[SPEAKER_00]: What's the?
- 38:18[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, that's the Super Bowl.
- 38:19[SPEAKER_00]: That's the Super Bowl.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_00]: That's the Super Bowl.
- 38:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, from the long time ago.
- 38:23[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 38:24[SPEAKER_01]: So unlikely.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_01]: I'd be on to that.
- 38:27[SPEAKER_00]: I'd be on to that.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_01]: I'd be on to that.
- 38:29[SPEAKER_01]: If the Broncos implode and it's, they were, that was 55 to 10 to the 49ers, right?
- 38:35[SPEAKER_01]: Not the other end.
- 38:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
- 38:36[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 38:37[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 38:38[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 38:39[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think it's going to be a blowout.
- 38:41[SPEAKER_01]: Then it starts to the imagination, which probably means that it will be.
- 38:48[SPEAKER_01]: because we're terrible at guessing things, but since we've talked about it, let's go ahead and move into that.
- 38:56[SPEAKER_01]: I think this is going to be a close game.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's going to be a little uncomfortable.
- 39:04[SPEAKER_01]: And not in a similar, not, you know, this will feel
- 39:09[SPEAKER_01]: This is going to be a weird thing to say.
- 39:10[SPEAKER_01]: This will feel a little better about it being close because they're like, okay, this is a good team and you should be playing them close and the fact that it's a close game is not hurting my feelings.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_01]: Again, like on like last week, we're just just like, what's going on here?
- 39:24[SPEAKER_01]: Like why are the cardinals being him noxious?
- 39:26[SPEAKER_01]: Like go away.
- 39:28[SPEAKER_01]: And so I'm prepared for a close game and I guess as you probably are too.
- 39:36[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, definitely.
- 39:37[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to go with 2017.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_00]: I just, I don't expect a lot of points in this game, and I expect a pretty strong defensive effort both ways.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think we'll be close.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_00]: I think the 49ers will pull through because for all the reasons we mentioned, plus, you know, I think I certainly have the approach when the 49ers often is humming, is that on?
- 40:02[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, but like a really good defense could slow down, you know, there's the possibility that this is just like an offense that can't be stopped.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_00]: And if that's true, you know, throw everything we said out of the, like out of the game, because like they could just maybe they will win 55 the 10.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_00]: You who knows.
- 40:21[SPEAKER_00]: So that would be amazing.
- 40:22[SPEAKER_01]: I would just have the greatest time.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_00]: Be a great game.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_00]: I think.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_00]: I like what's it called, one of my friends is a Broncos fan too, so that would be fun to hold over.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_00]: But I think, you know, really, I'm expecting low scoring, kind of slog, you know, neither team really gets a footing and the 49ers take care of business finally.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_00]: Which I think, you know, fits the way we feel like the strengths of these teams align.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_00]: And as a type of game, the team needs to win, you know, like you have to be able to win these gritty games.
- 40:57[SPEAKER_00]: Not every team can do so.
- 40:59[SPEAKER_00]: When it comes to the playoffs, it's a huge skill to have.
- 41:01[SPEAKER_00]: So getting that experience now can only be beneficial for younger players as the team continues to progress.
- 41:08[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, um, I have similarly one with a low worse scoring game.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_01]: I said 24 to 20 49ers.
- 41:13[SPEAKER_01]: So a little bit more points.
- 41:15[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I don't like the 20 points.
- 41:17[SPEAKER_01]: I don't.
- 41:18[SPEAKER_01]: Whatever.
- 41:19[SPEAKER_01]: Um, 55 to 10.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's getting the real question is it's 20 because of two field goals or another mispy team from steady eddy.
- 41:30[SPEAKER_01]: No, I said 24 to 20.
- 41:31[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, I'm saying my like you said you don't like the 20.
- 41:34[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I don't like the Broncos scoring 20 points.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_01]: And so what do I mean?
- 41:37[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_00]: There you go.
- 41:38[SPEAKER_00]: There you go.
- 41:40[SPEAKER_01]: Um, I would like to see that number much lower, but you know, it is what it is.
- 41:44[SPEAKER_01]: Um, those style points in the NFL and
- 41:48[SPEAKER_01]: I don't think point differential makes really that much of a difference.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_01]: So I'm fine.
- 41:51[SPEAKER_01]: But yeah, I think I'm right there with you.
- 41:52[SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be a two very good teams, like not punching each other and seeing who comes out in the end.
- 42:01[SPEAKER_01]: And frankly, when it's all said and done, you talked about the strength versus weakness this thing, I think when it matters, the four handers have the advantage of the sports most important position.
- 42:17[SPEAKER_01]: will end up making, being the, being the difference in, in the game, totally agree, totally agree.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you know, and it's so fun that we can say this, that like, that we have the, like, we have the quarterback advantage.
- 42:32[SPEAKER_01]: I think, you know, I would love 55 to 10 and Brock pretty just show that like he's here to stay permanent.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_00]: That would be the most exciting
- 42:42[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and score like most of those points in the first three quarters, so, and then we see it, we got our Mac Jones coming in.
- 42:48[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe Curtis forward.
- 42:49[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 42:50[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I don't think he can play unless he's acting.
- 42:53[SPEAKER_01]: No, of course, sure.
- 42:54[SPEAKER_01]: No, stop, undo.
- 42:55[SPEAKER_01]: No, no, dude.
- 42:56[SPEAKER_00]: The Curtis Ruck is playing something awful has happened, and... Well, what's the call?
- 43:00[SPEAKER_00]: We've changed the team with like saying, get things to see what this means, definitely.
- 43:04[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 43:06[SPEAKER_01]: okay cool um fine fine all right well i don't feel bad about that at all everything's going to be okay uh all right uh oxas do you have any other final thoughts that you'd like to say to to before we wrap this up just that you know it is you know it is you know it is a bit of a
- 43:29[SPEAKER_00]: week one was a bit weird, but the 49ers aced it, week two was expected, week three was nerdy, but the entries really threw everything for a loop.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_00]: You know, if this team wants to do the things that I think we all expect them and think they can do, that requires them to somehow like they have to win games against teams.
- 43:47[SPEAKER_00]: They're like the Broncos, right?
- 43:50[SPEAKER_00]: Like this is this can't be a game that they can't like sort that they shy away from.
- 43:54[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think they will,
- 43:58[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, what anything can happen in the NFL, see Seattle losing to the commander's last week, but Like you want to be a fan of a team that walks into any game thinking they can win and I think the 49ers is going to show that they're that kind of team So super excited to see how it plays out.
- 44:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's my experience that you can't win a Super Bowl without being teams that are good.
- 44:23[SPEAKER_00]: Yes
- 44:24[SPEAKER_01]: So they should start that now, at the end.
- 44:27[SPEAKER_00]: For all you know, you know, next time we're on the podcast, we'll talk about, I'm almost 100% sure some team has like basically walked in to the easy schedule ever and somehow.
- 44:39[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, sure, sure, sure, sure, sure, but it's hard.
- 44:42[SPEAKER_01]: Amy, I feel like we just experienced this last year, just thrown that out there.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_00]: Ah, but that's called the Rams and book and no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, I'm talking about the Patriots.
- 44:55[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's true.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_00]: That's true.
- 44:58[SPEAKER_01]: Um, they, yeah, they had like the easiest schedule in the NFL and then paths were cleared in the throughout the playoffs.
- 45:06[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, obviously like Bonax being out last year, if he, if he's in that game and they have like competent quarterback play, they probably win the AFC.
- 45:15[SPEAKER_01]: in the Super Bowl is probably a little bit more interesting, but anyway, that's a digression, and that's not their hand over there.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_01]: All right, so we will see you next week as we recap this win.
- 45:26[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, this game over the Broncos, maybe.
