- 0:28Hey, everybody. Good morning from the chicken
- 0:30coop. So today it's my neighbor's
- 0:33rooster going off over there. Today we are talking about
- 0:36possibilities and fear and what happens when you're writing your
- 0:39list of possibilities for next year and all of a sudden fear
- 0:44creeps in or it's never left the room.
- 0:46Let's face it never really leaves the room, but it's there
- 0:49and you're in the face with having to deal with it.
- 0:53So I know one thing that happens for me is when I'm doing this,
- 0:58how always pops up and as you know when I talk about it, how
- 1:01head always wipes us out, it has this way of just swiping us and
- 1:06making us take a step back. But what's interesting is when
- 1:09you know it and you you expect it to be there, you can.
- 1:12You're kind of aware of it. It's kind of like, you know when
- 1:14in that annoying relative is about to come over and you're
- 1:17just like, OK, well put them over there, See them there,
- 1:20don't let them come this way. You know we we have our
- 1:22strategies around it. We have to do that same thing
- 1:25with how. Now let's back up for a second
- 1:27though. Fear doesn't feel like how and
- 1:30it feels different. It just feels like all these
- 1:33things in your head go off like well, what if it's the wrong
- 1:36move? What if I what if I can't make
- 1:38it work? Or what if I get into it and I
- 1:40don't know what to do. And we run this constant list of
- 1:45what ifs, the what ifs, the what ifs.
- 1:47So we're not in a how head necessarily, but we're in the
- 1:49what ifs. So we're in this contemplative
- 1:52state and we are struggling immensely to be able to figure
- 1:56out how to get past that, how to take it to a different space and
- 2:01say, OK, I don't want to be in this headspace.
- 2:03I definitely don't want to stay here.
- 2:05And I have to figure out, you know, why does it keep showing
- 2:08up for me. Well, when you ask a why
- 2:10question, you're just going to find a reason to agree with it.
- 2:13You're just going to be like, well, because I've always had it
- 2:14and therefore it's it's allowed to stay, which is not true.
- 2:18But fear is something that we are hard wired for.
- 2:21So it's very easy to go to it and you have to just accept it.
- 2:24It shows up. Now what do I do when this shows
- 2:27up? Because I have some really big
- 2:29things that I'm putting on my list this year.
- 2:32My ideas. My possibility list is abundant
- 2:34and full and it is. If you look at it and you don't
- 2:38really think much about it, it's scary as hell.
- 2:41When I look at it, I'm just like, oh, wow, OK.
- 2:44But the. But the trick to this and how
- 2:47you get past it in that moment is to just stop.
- 2:52I know I'm going to be afraid when I put this down.
- 2:54And if it has even a twinge of excitement in the back of my
- 2:59mind where I'm like, oh, that would be so amazing, I put it on
- 3:03the list. And then when it's like that,
- 3:05you're sitting there and you're looking at the list and you're
- 3:07saying, OK, you put that down, But that seems ridiculous.
- 3:10You know, judgment is driving in that moment.
- 3:12You feel really strongly. Judgment is driving.
- 3:15You're like, Yup, I I get it. You're judging it.
- 3:18And OK, So what? I'm still putting it on the list
- 3:22because it still has that ping of excitement.
- 3:24There's a spark. There's a there's a clever
- 3:27little hit on it. And that's the part that's so
- 3:31exhilarating. When you can ignore that piece,
- 3:33when you can actually tell yourself, I don't care, I'm
- 3:37still going to do it. I'm still going to put it on the
- 3:39list. Because remember this point of
- 3:41exercise, you're just having fun.
- 3:44And if you're not having fun, then you're way overthinking it.
- 3:47You're supposed to be having fun at this point, what is possible?
- 3:51Not what you think you will get done, not what you think you
- 3:55know how to do any of that. It's like what is possible?
- 3:58So for me, I'll, I'll share one with you, which I am still
- 4:02contemplating all the pieces of this, but I would love to get
- 4:06more acreage. I know that sounds crazy, but I
- 4:08really would love to have more acreage.
- 4:10And I would love to have enough that I could have my daughter
- 4:14have a house on it, my son have a house on it.
- 4:16And then I would have this whole little family compound, if you
- 4:21will, created, this, this little family farm created.
- 4:25And I think that could be a tremendous legacy and a
- 4:28tremendous gift to give to my children.
- 4:31So is it scary to think, oh crap, I'm going to start it all
- 4:34over again? Is it scary to think, well, you
- 4:37know where and how and what? Of course.
- 4:41But I'm not in that phase. I'm just impossibility.
- 4:44So when I start contemplating it, when I start creating it in
- 4:48my imagination, when I start thinking about it, I get the the
- 4:52waves of excitement. And that tells me, wow, that's
- 4:55something that could really compel you, really compel you.
- 4:58And I think it's an important piece of the puzzle.
- 5:01I think it's an important piece of the puzzle to look for those
- 5:04little like, oh, that would be exciting.
- 5:06And put aside the judgment, the fear, the unknown of how put
- 5:11aside all of that and say in spite of the fear, in spite of
- 5:15the of the talk in my head, I'm going to do this anyway.
- 5:20I'm going to put it on this paper.
- 5:21Remember, I'm not, I'm not doing the farm tomorrow, I'm putting
- 5:25it on a piece of paper. I'm actually just putting it on
- 5:28a piece of paper. So allow yourself the freedom to
- 5:32move through the fear and pass the fear and get it all on the
- 5:35paper first. You'll be surprised how
- 5:38relieving, how exhilarating, and just how great it feels overall
- 5:43to say, wow, I actually can look back and say that's pretty,
- 5:46that's pretty cool. So get it done.
- 5:50All right, my friends, I will see you tomorrow.
- 5:51Bye.
