- Lucas: Välkommen tillbaka till Learn Swedish with Fexingo, episode 79. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Last time we covered some basics at the pharmacy, like asking for medicine and where to find it. Today we're going deeper. Lucas: Exactly. We'll learn how to say 'I have a prescription' and ask about side effects. Essential stuff. Luna: Let's start. How do I tell the pharmacist I have a prescription? Lucas: You say: Jag har ett recept. Jag har ett recept. It means 'I have a prescription.' Let me say it slowly: Jag har ett recept. Luna: Jag har ett recept. Jag har ett recept. I think I got it. Lucas: Perfect. Now, if you want to ask about side effects, you say: Vilka biverkningar har den? Vilka biverkningar har den? That's 'What side effects does it have?' Luna: Vilka biverkningar har den? That's a mouthful. Biverkningar... side effects. Right. Lucas: Yes. Let's practice: Jag har ett recept. Vilka biverkningar har den? Luna: Jag har ett recept. Vilka biverkningar har den? Good. Now, how often should I take it? Lucas: You ask: Hur ofta ska jag ta den? Hur ofta ska jag ta den? That means 'How often should I take it?' Luna: Hur ofta ska jag ta den? Hur ofta ska jag ta den? Okay. And if the pharmacist says once a day? Lucas: Then they might say: Ta en tablett om dagen. Ta en tablett om dagen. 'Take one tablet a day.' Luna: Ta en tablett om dagen. That's clear. And one more – how to ask if it's over-the-counter? Lucas: You say: Är det receptfritt? Är det receptfritt? 'Is it over-the-counter?' Because receptfritt literally means 'prescription-free.' Luna: Är det receptfritt? Receptfritt – that's a useful word. So I can ask about that before needing a prescription. Lucas: Exactly. Let's put it all in a mini-scene. Imagine you're at the pharmacy. You say: Jag har ett recept. Then: Vilka biverkningar har den? And then: Hur ofta ska jag ta den? Luna: Okay, I'll try. Jag har ett recept. Vilka biverkningar har den? Hur ofta ska jag ta den? Lucas: Excellent! And the pharmacist might answer: Ta en tablett om dagen. And if it's over-the-counter, they'll say: Ja, det är receptfritt. Luna: This is so practical. I can already imagine getting my medicine in Sweden. Lucas: And you know, if Fexingo has been helping you feel more confident with Swedish in real-life situations like this, we have a way you can support the show. Lucas: It's a simple way to help us keep making episodes like this one, with no ads. And we truly appreciate it. Luna: Now back to the pharmacy scene. So after asking about side effects, I might also want to know if it's okay to take with food. Lucas: That's a great next step. But for today, let's practice the phrases we've learned. Repeat after me: Jag har ett recept. Luna: Jag har ett recept. Lucas: Vilka biverkningar har den? Luna: Vilka biverkningar har den? Lucas: Hur ofta ska jag ta den? Luna: Hur ofta ska jag ta den? Lucas: Ta en tablett om dagen. Luna: Ta en tablett om dagen. Lucas: Är det receptfritt? Luna: Är det receptfritt? I love that one. Lucas: Good. Now let's hear you use them in a short dialogue. I'll be the pharmacist and you be the customer. Luna: Okay. Hej, jag har ett recept. Vilka biverkningar har den? Lucas: Den har inga vanliga biverkningar. Ta en tablett om dagen. Luna: Är det receptfritt? Lucas: Nej, det kräver recept. Luna: Tack så mycket! I did it. Lucas: You did great! And now you have five new phrases for your next trip to the pharmacy. Practice them until they feel natural. Luna: Tack, Lucas. And thanks to all of you for listening. We'll see you in episode 80! Lucas: Hej då! Keep practicing with Fexingo.
