- 0:28Speaker 1: you're a hockey fan, if you love it, it's verkin de
- 0:31Speaker 1: merz as we get after it. Let's clarify our new
- 0:32Speaker 1: schedule right now. NHL Inscripted is all of this st
- 0:35Speaker 1: of files. JD is at the Finals, boots in the ground,
- 0:38Speaker 1: getting a great sound, the perfect bird's eye view of
- 0:40Speaker 1: what is happening the best and for the duration of
- 0:43Speaker 1: the series, we will be posting a new episode on
- 0:45Speaker 1: the off day before every game, so that means our
- 0:48Speaker 1: next episode will be available on Sunday before game three Monday.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Episode after that will be Wednesday before game four Thursday.
- 0:56Speaker 3: We're crushing at JD.
- 0:57Speaker 2: This is gonna be epic, oh crushing it as much
- 1:00Speaker 2: as I am staying at the Varscona Hotel. Okay, beautiful, beautiful,
- 1:06Speaker 2: not downtown Edmonton, outside of downtown Edmonton where the lights
- 1:11Speaker 2: are bright and no, let's let's crack crack.
- 1:16Speaker 3: One game one can wait more finish my line.
- 1:18Speaker 2: I was gonna say the crackheads are plentiful. Let me
- 1:21Speaker 2: finish that. Edmondson.
- 1:24Speaker 1: I've been to twice this year. I went Framizon on Prime.
- 1:25Speaker 1: It's ever been previously. Everyone's listening and you, I think
- 1:27Speaker 1: you said this too. Ever totally got the best thing
- 1:29Speaker 1: about it is you'll never have to leave the hotel.
- 1:32Speaker 1: They go, the JW. Maria is connected to the arena.
- 1:34Speaker 1: It's amazing, Like.
- 1:35Speaker 2: A while, be there.
- 1:35Speaker 1: They go, No, I know it's cold, it's miserable. Hey man,
- 1:37Speaker 1: they've got a nice little fire. Two minutes to go
- 1:39Speaker 1: in there.
- 1:40Speaker 2: It's awesome.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Me and Hicks, Jody Shelley, John Forston. So when you
- 1:44Speaker 1: went there, I'm like, God. The first thing he says
- 1:45Speaker 1: the hotel like wait, no JW Marriot, Nay, nay, where
- 1:50Speaker 1: are you?
- 1:50Speaker 2: How far are you? Dude? You work for the NHL.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Come on. They they had some like convention in town
- 1:56Speaker 2: that's been booked for a year, like real estate and
- 1:58Speaker 2: also it's like agricultural and so it was like we're
- 2:01Speaker 2: thrown out way out into the stay. You know. We're like,
- 2:05Speaker 2: you know, we're I mean, we're fifteen minutes. We're on
- 2:07Speaker 2: white Avenue. So there's some restaurants here, but there's like
- 2:10Speaker 2: the funniest thing is like, I guess TNT is out
- 2:13Speaker 2: here too, sotes away with you. So yeah, so we
- 2:19Speaker 2: had players only with with Henrik Lunquist, so you know
- 2:24Speaker 2: boy Brian Boyle and Mike Ruppead. Henrik lunk was on.
- 2:27Speaker 2: So I was doing part of the show. So I
- 2:29Speaker 2: got up and Hank came in and as he's leaving,
- 2:32Speaker 2: I heard he was staying like a hotel near us.
- 2:34Speaker 2: It's like kind of dodgy too. So as he's getting up,
- 2:37Speaker 2: I'm like, Hank, I said, how's the hotel? And he goes,
- 2:41Speaker 2: are you fucking kidding me right now? And I was like,
- 2:44Speaker 2: are you staying out there? Big Hank T and T Crew?
- 2:49Speaker 2: I heard gretz is out here too, and I was like,
- 2:51Speaker 2: there's no way Gretzki's out here. I'm like, he's he's
- 2:54Speaker 2: for sure, there's some billionaire here that will house him easily.
- 2:57Speaker 3: Correct, he's not staying in the hotel.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Yeah, but no, I who knows. Apparently his security guard
- 3:02Speaker 2: was in the hotel, so if he's there, I can't
- 3:06Speaker 2: say of the hotel because the rabbit unscripted fans, smart fan.
- 3:10Speaker 3: Yeah, oh you're gonna find out Gretz is there.
- 3:12Speaker 2: This is amazing. He's taking hotels the rest of you guys,
- 3:17Speaker 2: fucking real estate convention. I love it. Let's get to
- 3:22Speaker 2: the game and bumps it back for Bouchard.
- 3:24Speaker 1: NuGen Hopkins on the left half boards under pressure, turns
- 3:28Speaker 1: and gives it up.
- 3:28Speaker 3: Beautiful pass, but gave it in front.
- 3:30Speaker 4: What turns?
- 3:33Speaker 3: Leon tri subtle four three edit ten.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Over listen.
- 3:44Speaker 3: High expectations going into this one. It went to overtime.
- 3:47Speaker 1: Really was like great momentum shifts right Edmonton fourteen seven
- 3:50Speaker 1: out shoot to the first prid, as you expect, house
- 3:53Speaker 1: on fire, Panthers come back at seventeen shots in the
- 3:55Speaker 1: second Skinner Weather's the stormut really Florida had their four
- 3:58Speaker 1: check back, third perid. Edmonton really takes over and then
- 4:01Speaker 1: the end of the game, you know, you go to overtime.
- 4:03Speaker 1: It ends up being a careful play, which is frustrating.
- 4:05Speaker 1: I wanted it to end. I mean there was there
- 4:07Speaker 1: was a several moments like that bouoch shirt looked like
- 4:10Speaker 1: he's Bobby or almost aid in overtime, like, oh my god,
- 4:12Speaker 1: this game ends now, epic move right. Who was to
- 4:15Speaker 1: split the d cast and yeah, amazing is the on
- 4:20Speaker 1: mikel On Jones and oh my oh that that's the
- 4:22Speaker 1: way we end. It's like a final game. Instead, no
- 4:24Speaker 1: check carelessly flips the puck. He's a fourth lottery played
- 4:27Speaker 1: under ten minutes of the game. Delay a game and
- 4:29Speaker 1: then the actual goal was great McDavid drives, Ottle, quick
- 4:31Speaker 1: touch passes overtime winner.
- 4:33Speaker 3: But I'm left feeling jad listened. It's a great win Fremonton.
- 4:36Speaker 1: They deserve the win, certainly the way they played, especially
- 4:38Speaker 1: a third period on But for Florida, a goo man,
- 4:41Speaker 1: you lose on a penalty like that overtime tough pill
- 4:44Speaker 1: to swallow.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Well, I mean, you know it's a team that something
- 4:47Speaker 2: has to had to break twenty nine and oh when
- 4:50Speaker 2: they're leading after two crazy uh and listen, no sick.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Paul Marie said something pretty nice after the game. You know,
- 4:57Speaker 2: they asked and they said tough bounce for no sick.
- 4:59Speaker 2: You know what'd you tell him? And he just said, listen,
- 5:01Speaker 2: he goes. I told him about the Toronto series when
- 5:04Speaker 2: and they got inserted the lineup and Florida's down to nothing.
- 5:07Speaker 2: He's like we're not here without that line, that fourth line,
- 5:10Speaker 2: and he goes, it's a mistake. He goes, hopefully he
- 5:12Speaker 2: doesn't need a loan. Guys are going to be there
- 5:14Speaker 2: with him tonight. Yeah, hopefully he you know, hope just
- 5:17Speaker 2: check on your teammate. And that's a beautiful thing about
- 5:19Speaker 2: hockey and and and the great thing about Paul Maurice.
- 5:22Speaker 2: You know, he could say what you want about sometimes
- 5:24Speaker 2: him going overboard with like the handshake line and like,
- 5:27Speaker 2: don't make it about you. But he's always understanding and
- 5:31Speaker 2: I think he always at the end of the day
- 5:32Speaker 2: has the players his best interest at heart. And you know,
- 5:37Speaker 2: you could see him supporting Thomas Noschik there because you know,
- 5:42Speaker 2: that's that's an unfortunate play. It happens careless, you can
- 5:45Speaker 2: call it. But in the heat of it and the overtime,
- 5:47Speaker 2: the ice is snowy, what he didn't look great the ice,
- 5:51Speaker 2: you know, and this goes over and you know you're
- 5:53Speaker 2: giving the best power play and arguably the league and
- 5:57Speaker 2: opportunity and overtime when everyboy's a little fatigue. So knew
- 5:59Speaker 2: what was gonna happen. But yeah, like I thought Edmonton
- 6:02Speaker 2: could have enit. It a lot of times before that,
- 6:04Speaker 2: I thought they were the better team, you know, for
- 6:06Speaker 2: other than the second period, for you know, every other
- 6:10Speaker 2: period they were the better team, and I thought they
- 6:12Speaker 2: were really pushing. So I don't I don't chalk it
- 6:15Speaker 2: down to that flip. I think that was just a
- 6:18Speaker 2: a you know what do you want to call that?
- 6:19Speaker 2: Just a kind of confidence of events and this is
- 6:22Speaker 2: what happens. So but yeah, it's uh, it was a
- 6:25Speaker 2: great It was a great atmosphere, a great game too. Honestly,
- 6:28Speaker 2: I think that was a great you know, somebody looked
- 6:30Speaker 2: over at me, like in the second third period, and
- 6:34Speaker 2: I don't know if it was Mike Johnson or because
- 6:37Speaker 2: we all were watching it together.
- 6:39Speaker 3: Or Johnny Rupper and Boyle together.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, or it was one of our producers and
- 6:44Speaker 2: he just said he was like, you know what, the
- 6:46Speaker 2: best part about this? He goes, the two best teams
- 6:49Speaker 2: are here and he goes, it's actually like that, that's
- 6:51Speaker 2: that's a good part. So at least the fans are treated.
- 6:53Speaker 2: But Edmonton Oiler's baby yeah in six swinn.
- 6:59Speaker 3: Okay, well, Erry Carrier on the Oilers try sell fire.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Yeah yeah. The moon.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Sam Bennett, by the way, leads all players. There were
- 7:12Speaker 1: twelve playoff goals. I know E've been impressed up great
- 7:15Speaker 1: has been from Florida and and just Acond. We've set
- 7:18Speaker 1: this over and over and we'll keep saying at the
- 7:19Speaker 1: depth of the Oiler scoring, this was not a game
- 7:21Speaker 1: where a pair of bases carried the day. They're now
- 7:23Speaker 1: twenty different unique goal scorers. That's like on the all
- 7:26Speaker 1: time list in terms of different players contributing for this
- 7:29Speaker 1: Oilers team.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Well, well, you know, touch on Sam Bennett first. You
- 7:33Speaker 2: know ties Mark Stiffey for the all time road goals
- 7:37Speaker 2: lead in the NHL playoffs. So you know, no one
- 7:40Speaker 2: else in NHL history has more road goals than Sam
- 7:44Speaker 2: Bennett in a playoff you know, playoff series round, you know,
- 7:48Speaker 2: over over the course of the playoffs. Uh, he's unbelievable,
- 7:52Speaker 2: Like this guy. Every time his he's just you can
- 7:55Speaker 2: just see every goalie scorers is like one million more,
- 7:58Speaker 2: five hundred thousand more, every hit two fifty more a year. Yeah,
- 8:03Speaker 2: he's just right, DG. You can see his agent they're like, oh, oh,
- 8:07Speaker 2: more more and then you know he's just you can't
- 8:15Speaker 2: find a player in the playoffs that plays like you know,
- 8:17Speaker 2: that's that. He's so good. I'm such a fan of his.
- 8:20Speaker 2: He's always impactful in playoffs. He's just he he demands
- 8:25Speaker 2: so much respect and fear and he just is able
- 8:28Speaker 2: to also be so skilled and you know, great, I
- 8:31Speaker 2: mean what a goalie scorer to that goal dragon his
- 8:33Speaker 2: leg just enough and then goes blocker side. Amazing finish.
- 8:37Speaker 2: And and to your point, the depth of Edmonton Evander Kaine.
- 8:41Speaker 2: You know, you look at the two guys that were
- 8:43Speaker 2: probably most impactful for me in those games, with Sam
- 8:45Speaker 2: Bennett kind of a gritty, hard nosed guy that can
- 8:48Speaker 2: score Vander Kaine all those goals. The Ech home goal
- 8:51Speaker 2: is Vander Kain driving to the net and taking out
- 8:54Speaker 2: three people. The Leon Dry side of goal at the
- 8:56Speaker 2: start of the game is Evander Kaine driving through to
- 8:59Speaker 2: the net, taking out Gustav Forsling and just you know,
- 9:03Speaker 2: doing what Florida does to them. And that was the
- 9:06Speaker 2: thing that was missing from Edmonton last playoffs against Florida
- 9:09Speaker 2: was an Evander Kaine that's healthy and you could see it.
- 9:13Speaker 2: He is killing guys, he's playing dirty, he's getting to
- 9:16Speaker 2: the Naties, getting tourr entents and it's just opening up
- 9:18Speaker 2: the ice for everybody else. That's like the intangible thing
- 9:22Speaker 2: that an Evander Caine or Sam Bennett does. They just
- 9:25Speaker 2: open it up for the other guys to to kind
- 9:27Speaker 2: of play because everybody's worried about Evander Kaine. You know,
- 9:29Speaker 2: they're all chasing him, they're all trying to slash them,
- 9:31Speaker 2: and this is just what he does. So yeah, depth
- 9:35Speaker 2: pieces for Edmonton again. You know, you can, you can
- 9:38Speaker 2: go down the list of guys, but you know, Vander
- 9:40Speaker 2: Kain for me was great. Caspiy kappenan great game. On
- 9:43Speaker 2: the D side, John Klingberg and Jake Wllman were fantastic. Again.
- 9:48Speaker 2: I thought they're very very good, very solid, And I
- 9:50Speaker 2: mean this is a team that's ready. We've been saying
- 9:53Speaker 2: at the last couple episodes. This team looks ready.
- 10:01Speaker 3: If only a Phil Pritcher doing a Harry Cary impression.
- 10:03Speaker 2: That's right.
- 10:03Speaker 1: The keep of the cop is to join us coming
- 10:05Speaker 1: up later here on NHL unscripted. He's great in terms
- 10:08Speaker 1: of challenges. We saw how that King's Oilers series changed, right,
- 10:11Speaker 1: Jim Hiller made that just a disastrous decision, Jim Hiller,
- 10:16Speaker 1: and he's still getting.
- 10:17Speaker 2: Crushed for it this time.
- 10:18Speaker 1: Bennett ties again, maybe through the prairie bumps in his
- 10:21Speaker 1: two skinner on the play a fit Oilers coaches asked
- 10:23Speaker 1: for a review.
- 10:24Speaker 3: The call stands, Vonton takes a penalty.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Brad Marshank gives Flord of the lead on the power
- 10:28Speaker 1: play a buck forty one later.
- 10:29Speaker 3: Now, Chris Dopplin said, all challenge any day of the week.
- 10:31Speaker 2: He had no.
- 10:32Speaker 1: Regrets about it. But what do you think about his
- 10:34Speaker 1: decision and the call from the officials.
- 10:37Speaker 2: It's tough. I think I think they're banking on the
- 10:39Speaker 2: history of Sam Bennett coming into effect, and you know,
- 10:43Speaker 2: Brett Koolak gets escaped behind so and it kind of
- 10:46Speaker 2: trips him. But then you know Sam Bennett casually falls
- 10:50Speaker 2: back and he's not gonna hold himself up, so he
- 10:53Speaker 2: falls in. You know, it was more of the turnover
- 10:55Speaker 2: and shot. It's a tough one. I just don't know
- 10:58Speaker 2: that early in the series if you're calling it. But
- 11:00Speaker 2: at least you know Chris non Block was ready and
- 11:05Speaker 2: to do it. And also, you know, the video coaches
- 11:07Speaker 2: in Edmonton probably were pretty adamant about it, because a
- 11:10Speaker 2: lot of the time they leave that up to them,
- 11:12Speaker 2: so they were probably adamant that this was the call
- 11:15Speaker 2: to make. You know, the ensuing power play where they
- 11:17Speaker 2: give one up is not great. But this team, man,
- 11:20Speaker 2: they early in the series, they're not scared. That could
- 11:24Speaker 2: have went the wrong way fast, and you know, the
- 11:27Speaker 2: good thing is is up until that point and then
- 11:30Speaker 2: you go through the second period like Stuart Skinner kept
- 11:33Speaker 2: him in that game after because that game could have
- 11:35Speaker 2: been over, that could have ran away with it and
- 11:38Speaker 2: all off another coaching calls, so port Jim Hiller. If
- 11:41Speaker 2: only Quentin Byfield that chipped it out, you know, we
- 11:44Speaker 2: would be in LA right now instead of Edmonton at
- 11:48Speaker 2: the VARs Gona end. But shit happens. And you know,
- 11:54Speaker 2: as long as naw Block owned it and didn't bear anybody,
- 11:57Speaker 2: he owned it, did it. Boys got it back for him.
- 12:00Speaker 2: This fucking team, man, fucking team.
- 12:03Speaker 3: They're feeling pretty good right now.
- 12:04Speaker 2: There's no doubt about it.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Now. Again, I mentioned off the top, Jady is there.
- 12:07Speaker 1: It seemed like a file for us. And also you
- 12:09Speaker 1: were there at media day, so we want to take
- 12:10Speaker 1: full advantage of you being there. It's a really unique
- 12:12Speaker 1: experience for anybody who hasn't covered it. You're there talking
- 12:15Speaker 1: to different players throughout the day and kind of getting a story.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Great storytelling more than anything. First, tell us about John Klingberg.
- 12:20Speaker 1: You mentioned the factor impressed by his play with Walman
- 12:23Speaker 1: in game one. How about Klingberg's NHL journey. People remember
- 12:25Speaker 1: him with the stars and how he's coming to this
- 12:27Speaker 1: moment now in his career.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Well, when I played with him in Dallas in twenty
- 12:32Speaker 2: fourteen fifteen, his hip, his hips were bothering him then
- 12:37Speaker 2: like he was in pain. Then ended up playing another
- 12:39Speaker 2: six years with it. Great defenseman was in that hip
- 12:44Speaker 2: resurfacing surgery is so difficult to do and come back from.
- 12:48Speaker 2: So we were able to talk to him and it
- 12:50Speaker 2: was good to see him. Mysel's wife yesterday and Choose
- 12:53Speaker 2: talking about how much he loves it here in Edmonton
- 12:55Speaker 2: and loves the team and the wives, and which is great.
- 12:58Speaker 2: He's found a home. But his last two years he
- 13:00Speaker 2: didn't play much hockey. When you think about it, He's
- 13:02Speaker 2: played like thirty games in the life last like two years.
- 13:05Speaker 2: So we did. I kind of resonate with that, just
- 13:07Speaker 2: because you know what I went through with my back
- 13:09Speaker 2: surgery trying to get my seven hundred game and and
- 13:11Speaker 2: he comes back and you know, they give him a
- 13:14Speaker 2: shot at seven hundred and fifty grand Everybody's like, what
- 13:16Speaker 2: the hell's going on? And I, you know, I was
- 13:17Speaker 2: on a oiler's podcast and I was like, if this works,
- 13:21Speaker 2: this is like a win win, like get Klingberg in
- 13:23Speaker 2: the league if this, if it works, you know, they
- 13:26Speaker 2: look like the smartest team alive. And if it doesn't,
- 13:28Speaker 2: it only cost them seven hundred and fifty grands. So
- 13:31Speaker 2: so it's it's it's great, and it's an amazing story.
- 13:35Speaker 2: And and he was very kind of vulnerable with his
- 13:38Speaker 2: story of like coming back and not knowing if he
- 13:42Speaker 2: would and talking to He talked to Patrick Kane as
- 13:45Speaker 2: well as the other guy that got the hip surf
- 13:48Speaker 2: resurfacing surgery. I can't remember who it is in the moment,
- 13:51Speaker 2: but you'll hear it in the audio clip.
- 13:56Speaker 4: Just reach out a the process and all that.
- 14:07Speaker 5: It's a little bit different obviously for starting six middle
- 14:09Speaker 5: and in the hips now, so also get used to
- 14:12Speaker 5: and I, I mean, I knew it was gonna be
- 14:14Speaker 5: a process when I signed him coming back as well.
- 14:16Speaker 5: But I think over the course of this playoffs, who
- 14:20Speaker 5: coming in I feel like over over a week.
- 14:22Speaker 4: Spas is getting better and better by every.
- 14:24Speaker 5: Week too, So I'm very excited where it is at.
- 14:27Speaker 4: I feel like he's just gonna continue to get better
- 14:29Speaker 4: and better, which is exciting. I mean, it's like as
- 14:32Speaker 4: he you played it, you're so proud to kind of
- 14:34Speaker 4: see where you're at. But like just talk mentally. But
- 14:36Speaker 4: I went through a ton of surgeries when I was playing,
- 14:39Speaker 4: and it is hard to stay kind of even keel
- 14:42Speaker 4: and leading on families so important. Yeah, how much did
- 14:45Speaker 4: you learn about yourself just keep you back from that injury?
- 14:48Speaker 5: I mean a lot, And I think obviously coming up
- 14:50Speaker 5: in the league, the timing of it and.
- 14:53Speaker 4: Dallas was perfect. I got a gold right away, and
- 14:56Speaker 4: obviously at that time I thought I was gonna be
- 14:58Speaker 4: a Dallas Stars for life.
- 14:59Speaker 5: But well, yeah, well the things happen, and I mean,
- 15:04Speaker 5: it was.
- 15:15Speaker 4: Just getting more supports. There's just.
- 15:45Speaker 2: It was just an amazing moment and and vulnerability, and
- 15:49Speaker 2: it's always nice to hear guys talk about like they
- 15:51Speaker 2: think faire out and then how they had to battle
- 15:53Speaker 2: back and and and really be mentally strong and lean
- 15:57Speaker 2: on their support system. So it was it was a
- 15:59Speaker 2: cool interview. That's definitely very cool.
- 16:00Speaker 3: You able to talk to me again.
- 16:01Speaker 1: You had that personal relationship with the him with his
- 16:03Speaker 1: wife as well being able to see that the maturation
- 16:05Speaker 1: of his career. Every time you see Paul Coffee, like, man,
- 16:07Speaker 1: that's so cool just to seeing Paul Coffee is there
- 16:09Speaker 1: as a coach right now the Oilers team and specifically
- 16:12Speaker 1: you can imagine the players just loving getting the advice
- 16:14Speaker 1: from an all time great.
- 16:15Speaker 3: What did Brett Kol actually about Cough telling him to
- 16:17Speaker 3: cut his stick?
- 16:18Speaker 2: Yeah, there's there's a lot of coaches that played that
- 16:22Speaker 2: you know, really like to influence them on the and
- 16:26Speaker 2: insert themselves on the on the stick length and stick curve.
- 16:30Speaker 2: And you know, Rick Tockett when I played, was trying
- 16:32Speaker 2: to get me to change my curve and I ended
- 16:34Speaker 2: up doing and I ended up doing it and and
- 16:37Speaker 2: didn't score for the next two years. So you know,
- 16:40Speaker 2: sometimes it works, sometimes it does it so, uh yeah,
- 16:44Speaker 2: but he was talking about, you know, because I kept trying.
- 16:46Speaker 2: I know Cough a little bit just from being around
- 16:49Speaker 2: the team for training camp and and also, uh you
- 16:53Speaker 2: know seeing him around last year and he's very like
- 16:56Speaker 2: blunt with what he says, and he's a walking quote
- 16:59Speaker 2: and he says so many good funny things. And I
- 17:01Speaker 2: was trying to get the guys that gave me one,
- 17:03Speaker 2: like because we interviewed a lot of a d man
- 17:05Speaker 2: and they're all like every single guy was like nothing
- 17:07Speaker 2: would be good for TV or media. Like I can't
- 17:09Speaker 2: tell you what he says because it's it's very blunting
- 17:12Speaker 2: to the point, but cool act started talking. He's like
- 17:14Speaker 2: he was chasing me around, trying to get me to
- 17:17Speaker 2: put the length of my stick down, and he's like caught.
- 17:19Speaker 2: He's like Paul, Like, he's like, I can't play with
- 17:22Speaker 2: like a mini hockey stick like you did. Like he's like,
- 17:24Speaker 2: I need to have it a little bit longer. So
- 17:26Speaker 2: he finally like kept he kept bugging and bugging him,
- 17:28Speaker 2: and he changed and he said this year he played
- 17:30Speaker 2: with it the whole season with a shorter stick in
- 17:33Speaker 2: a and a and a better curve, and I mean,
- 17:35Speaker 2: he's played great.
- 17:39Speaker 4: Last year.
- 18:11Speaker 2: It's funny how you could play your whole career with
- 18:13Speaker 2: a certain curve and stick and then on the fly
- 18:16Speaker 2: some Hall of Famer shit talks to you and you
- 18:18Speaker 2: end up changing and it works. So you know the
- 18:22Speaker 2: lore of Paul Coffee, Yeah, for sure.
- 18:24Speaker 1: As you say that like athletes can be superstitious. One
- 18:26Speaker 1: thing is working, I want to change it. Whit you know,
- 18:28Speaker 1: if it ain't broke, don't fix it. But then if
- 18:29Speaker 1: you are struggling, I'll take what everydvice you can't find.
- 18:32Speaker 2: Great.
- 18:32Speaker 3: Once you figure it out, you can do it.
- 18:33Speaker 1: Ag Agreer was not in the line for the Florida
- 18:35Speaker 1: Panthers for Game one, but you got some thoughts on
- 18:37Speaker 1: him and Dairy Queen if I'm not mistaken.
- 18:40Speaker 2: Yeah, well, everybody knows the Dairy Queen story, the Dairy
- 18:43Speaker 2: Queen Club with Marsha. So we go and we're asking.
- 18:46Speaker 2: I just asked him. I was like, hey, what's the
- 18:49Speaker 2: what's the Dairy Queen story? And he had an amazing
- 18:55Speaker 2: scoop for us and even said at the end of
- 18:56Speaker 2: He's like, this is a scoop about Brad. Marsha's pretty
- 19:03Speaker 2: She's a huge friend.
- 19:04Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:06Speaker 5: The biggest fact Blizzards. He loves that.
- 19:30Speaker 3: That's pretty stunning listening to that clip through.
- 19:32Speaker 1: Well, he I've never heard of anyone now that I
- 19:35Speaker 1: think about it, and I've been to Dairy Queen many
- 19:36Speaker 1: of the time.
- 19:36Speaker 3: It is it is solely a place that went for
- 19:38Speaker 3: ice cream cakes.
- 19:39Speaker 2: I just went and they have burgers and hot dogs.
- 19:42Speaker 3: And I know that guy was even aware of that.
- 19:44Speaker 1: If you said to me, if you had dry Queen
- 19:45Speaker 1: hot dog, but I didn't know that.
- 19:47Speaker 2: I know goes there for that.
- 19:49Speaker 3: That is that that's that's poor for him.
- 19:52Speaker 1: By Brad, I don't mean to you know, maybe it's
- 19:54Speaker 1: a don't knock it till he tried it.
- 19:55Speaker 3: But I can't see the angel and.
- 19:57Speaker 2: I might go try the burger. No, there's no way,
- 20:00Speaker 2: just to do it, just to do it once. Just
- 20:02Speaker 2: take a bite. I mean, you're gonna grow, You're gonna
- 20:05Speaker 2: grow a nose like his.
- 20:07Speaker 3: Still to come here.
- 20:08Speaker 1: In hl and scripted, everyone always needs to find every
- 20:10Speaker 1: artist he has to find their new muse. Maybe the
- 20:12Speaker 1: Penguins have found it in the person of Dan muse
- 20:15Speaker 1: for Sidney Cross. We will talk about that move. Plus
- 20:17Speaker 1: you smell the Brock is cooking. Brock Nelson re upping
- 20:20Speaker 1: with the colorda Avlane. Coming up next it is Phil Pritcher,
- 20:23Speaker 1: the Keeper of the Cup, with great stories and all
- 20:25Speaker 1: the discussing things guys have done with the Stanley Cup,
- 20:27Speaker 1: some of the inspiring things they've done with the cup.
- 20:29Speaker 3: How we got the job plus the.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Phil Pritchard Lookalike contest all that were coming up after
- 20:33Speaker 1: this a NHL in scripted.
- 20:48Speaker 2: Our next guest is the curator of the Hockey Hall
- 20:50Speaker 2: of Fame, where he has worked since nineteen eighty eight.
- 20:52Speaker 1: Is known around the world as the Keeper of the Cup,
- 20:55Speaker 1: a duty he has performed since nineteen ninety four. He
- 20:57Speaker 1: is the personal bodyguard for the most incredible trophy in
- 21:00Speaker 1: all the sports.
- 21:00Speaker 2: Ladies and gentlemen, Phil Pritchard.
- 21:02Speaker 1: Phil, it is great to see you as the Stanley
- 21:04Speaker 1: Cup Final is going to be really the focus of
- 21:06Speaker 1: the hockey world right now and you will be in
- 21:08Speaker 1: the focus as well.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Great to see how you been.
- 21:10Speaker 6: Thanks for having us on.
- 21:11Speaker 7: You know what, it's always an exciting time of year
- 21:13Speaker 7: in June when the Stanley Cup Final is on and
- 21:16Speaker 7: who would have.
- 21:17Speaker 6: Fought at the beginning of the year.
- 21:18Speaker 7: We'd have a repeats of both teams and then so
- 21:21Speaker 7: it's fun for Canada, it's fun for the US, it's
- 21:25Speaker 7: fun for the North and South, and it's got everything
- 21:28Speaker 7: going so.
- 21:29Speaker 2: Exactly thirty two years Canada's drout.
- 21:31Speaker 1: We're hoping it is at least here as Canadians, where
- 21:33Speaker 1: is Lord Stanley, right now Phil.
- 21:35Speaker 7: It's getting ready to go actually to the Edmonton right
- 21:39Speaker 7: now for the final media days later on today and
- 21:43Speaker 7: then Game one, Game two, then back to Florida, and
- 21:48Speaker 7: you know the drill.
- 21:51Speaker 2: I'm gonna be there media day, so I'm gonna get
- 21:53Speaker 2: a hopefully get a piece and see it and see
- 21:55Speaker 2: you as well. But I want to ask little you
- 21:57Speaker 2: started in ninety four, and you know ninety four is
- 21:59Speaker 2: where Glenn Heally, Nicky Kyprio's famously they lost the cup,
- 22:03Speaker 2: And what do you remember that story? And like how,
- 22:05Speaker 2: you know, how did your kind of gig come to be?
- 22:09Speaker 6: Well, you know what I mean.
- 22:10Speaker 7: I know Glenn and Nick pretty well now and have
- 22:13Speaker 7: heard all the stories of Glenn taking it to pickering
- 22:18Speaker 7: outside of Toronto and Nick traveling around in New York
- 22:22Speaker 7: with in Uh with Mark Messi and that. But it's
- 22:25Speaker 7: funny the I started at the Hockey Hall of Fame
- 22:28Speaker 7: in nineteen eighty eight and my first week on the job,
- 22:31Speaker 7: we had to do a minor hockey banquet in Newmarket,
- 22:35Speaker 7: Ontario for those listeners that don't know where, that is
- 22:37Speaker 7: about an hour north of Toronto.
- 22:40Speaker 6: And it was a Friday night.
- 22:41Speaker 7: I started on the Monday, and we had to take
- 22:43Speaker 7: the Cup up north, and nobody wanted to do it.
- 22:46Speaker 7: So I sheepishly put up my hand and said, mister Morrison,
- 22:50Speaker 7: I'll go. And I was the new kid on the
- 22:53Speaker 7: block and okay, kind of card he got, you got
- 22:56Speaker 7: to put it in your car. And so I went
- 22:58Speaker 7: up there, and I mean it was it was great.
- 23:00Speaker 7: It was a great event, very low key and everything.
- 23:03Speaker 7: And then on Monday morning when I came in, he said,
- 23:06Speaker 7: I heard everything went well, and he said, yeah, it
- 23:09Speaker 7: was good. I want to go to Dallas this weekend.
- 23:12Speaker 7: And it was something I didn't I didn't apply for
- 23:17Speaker 7: to say. I mean, I was working there in public
- 23:20Speaker 7: relations and kind of the historic side at the Hockey
- 23:23Speaker 7: Hall of Fame, and next thing, I'm hanging out with
- 23:26Speaker 7: the world's greatest trophy going this is this is all right.
- 23:30Speaker 7: This wasn't on the job job qualification process when I started.
- 23:35Speaker 7: But that's so long ago now, so he jump up
- 23:38Speaker 7: six years to ninety four. We had taken it to
- 23:42Speaker 7: the Cup final obviously the previous years, but it was
- 23:45Speaker 7: a it was a different format at the time. When
- 23:47Speaker 7: Commissioner Batman started, he got into the red carpet type
- 23:52Speaker 7: of thing, and we we had calls how to make it.
- 23:55Speaker 7: Specially wanted to make it. He wanted to make it
- 23:58Speaker 7: like it should be exactly what it is now, like
- 24:00Speaker 7: it was. It's the prominent trophy of hockey. Let's make
- 24:05Speaker 7: it that way. So by nineteen ninety four, the Rangers
- 24:08Speaker 7: in Vancouver are in the Stanley Cup Final and here
- 24:12Speaker 7: we go again, Canada versus US, you know, East versus West.
- 24:17Speaker 7: It goes seven games and everything, and you look back
- 24:20Speaker 7: at it now and you thought, think, wow, if that
- 24:23Speaker 7: series could have gone nine games, it would have gotten
- 24:25Speaker 7: nine games, like if they were.
- 24:26Speaker 6: So close it.
- 24:28Speaker 7: But to have the Rangers win it on Broadway and
- 24:33Speaker 7: everything like that, it was pretty spectacular. But they the
- 24:37Speaker 7: stories from all the guys and all that. So the
- 24:40Speaker 7: evolution of the day with the Cup kind of started dead.
- 24:43Speaker 7: It obviously had its roots before that and everything, but
- 24:47Speaker 7: it wasn't until nineteen ninety five that actually each person
- 24:51Speaker 7: on the team, each player on the team got a
- 24:53Speaker 7: chance to keep the cup for a day, and that
- 24:55Speaker 7: was the new Jersey Devil. So it I'd love to
- 24:59Speaker 7: say I can tell you it started on this moment
- 25:01Speaker 7: and this time, but it kind of evolved over time.
- 25:04Speaker 2: That was the straw that broke the camel's back.
- 25:07Speaker 6: Do you want to say that?
- 25:08Speaker 1: Yeah, Well, it's amazing because you always hear these stories
- 25:11Speaker 1: about players, as you said, taking it back to their
- 25:13Speaker 1: hometown in different locales, and sometimes it can be a
- 25:16Speaker 1: little silly and certainly parties and stories like that.
- 25:18Speaker 2: But I thought of a moment which.
- 25:19Speaker 1: Really filled me with pride and joy as a fellow Muslim,
- 25:22Speaker 1: and Nawson Condrey took the cup back to his mosque
- 25:24Speaker 1: in London.
- 25:25Speaker 3: That was a real touchdown, wonderful moment, wasn't it.
- 25:27Speaker 6: It was?
- 25:27Speaker 7: It was pretty incredible. I remember in uh when we
- 25:31Speaker 7: were in Colorado and we went over to his house
- 25:35Speaker 7: a day or two after they had won in that
- 25:37Speaker 7: and he was saying what his plans were in that.
- 25:40Speaker 6: And he's totally different off the ice than he is
- 25:44Speaker 6: on the ice.
- 25:45Speaker 7: He's very quiet, very laid back, great guy, great family.
- 25:50Speaker 7: But I think more than anything to do, it really
- 25:53Speaker 7: shows how this game is growing worldwide. It's no longer
- 25:58Speaker 7: just a northern city game longer, or just the outdoor
- 26:05Speaker 7: ice rink. I mean, the game has evolved. It's playing
- 26:07Speaker 7: in ninety six countries around the world now. Everybody couldn't
- 26:12Speaker 7: put on a pair of skates and pick up a stick,
- 26:14Speaker 7: so not and paid paved the way in that way.
- 26:18Speaker 6: But and there's going to be a whole bunch more.
- 26:20Speaker 7: Nathan Walker from Australia is playing on the Blues, was
- 26:24Speaker 7: with a Cup team with the Capital a few years ago,
- 26:27Speaker 7: so it's it's really growing. And hey, if you're playing
- 26:31Speaker 7: hockey as a kid and you want to play and
- 26:33Speaker 7: arguably the best league in the world, the National Hockey League,
- 26:36Speaker 7: and win that chance to bring the Cup home, I
- 26:39Speaker 7: mean I think everyone would be putting their hands up
- 26:41Speaker 7: to do that.
- 26:42Speaker 2: Oh one hundred percent.
- 26:44Speaker 4: Uh.
- 26:45Speaker 2: I wanted to ask you, like, you know the Nas
- 26:47Speaker 2: and Kadri one that's so unique. Is there any other
- 26:49Speaker 2: stories it's kind of your favorite to tell about a
- 26:51Speaker 2: player hosting the culture in the summer, You.
- 26:54Speaker 6: Know what Jay it was.
- 26:57Speaker 7: I think every time we go to a new city
- 27:00Speaker 7: or a new country, it's pretty spectacular on Coppatar when
- 27:05Speaker 7: he took it back to Slovenia for the first time,
- 27:08Speaker 7: being the only Slovenian in the league, and then when
- 27:10Speaker 7: it twice in three years to bring it back there
- 27:15Speaker 7: to fly in a Jubilllana and go from there.
- 27:18Speaker 6: It's it's pretty amazing.
- 27:20Speaker 7: But he was so honored obviously to win the Stanley
- 27:24Speaker 7: Cup and bring it home, but to be a Slovenian
- 27:27Speaker 7: and be honored by everybody.
- 27:29Speaker 6: I mean, as we.
- 27:30Speaker 7: Know, anyone, anytime anyone gets to wear their national flag
- 27:33Speaker 7: on their heartage special, and Tron's it was special. The
- 27:38Speaker 7: first time we went to Russia in nineteen ninety seven
- 27:40Speaker 7: with the Red wings, it was unique. I mean, all
- 27:42Speaker 7: of those are so special. But we can break it
- 27:45Speaker 7: down further and go down to states or provinces, to
- 27:48Speaker 7: little towns in that when it's the first time it's there,
- 27:52Speaker 7: the adults are so excited, their kids are.
- 27:54Speaker 6: I mean it it really brings this town to life,
- 27:58Speaker 6: or the village or whatever.
- 27:59Speaker 7: Might be, and everyone gathers around and it shows I
- 28:04Speaker 7: think and Tay you probably know this as good as anyone.
- 28:07Speaker 7: You can't get there by yourself. Someone had to help
- 28:11Speaker 7: you put on skates when you were a kid, someone
- 28:13Speaker 7: had to tie them, They had to drive you to
- 28:14Speaker 7: their work.
- 28:15Speaker 6: All of these people are.
- 28:16Speaker 7: All part of it, and they all they all celebrate
- 28:20Speaker 7: in that Stanley Cup moment, So it's pretty special. Wherever
- 28:23Speaker 7: it is, the Cope Tar one special, obviously the Russian
- 28:27Speaker 7: one going to Finland. We were up in northern Finland
- 28:30Speaker 7: last year for one of the first times. We've been
- 28:32Speaker 7: in the South a lot, but we don't get to
- 28:35Speaker 7: all parts of Yeah, exactly, Yeah, it was exactly.
- 28:40Speaker 6: Sandy didn't show up. I was waiting for him. There's
- 28:43Speaker 6: a couple of guys with beers, but they weren't sad.
- 28:45Speaker 1: Yeah, Bill, I want to ask you if the winning
- 28:48Speaker 1: the Cup in twenty twenty one, the lightning dented the
- 28:50Speaker 1: trophy during the Cup presentation, what went through your mind
- 28:53Speaker 1: when you saw that?
- 28:54Speaker 6: So?
- 28:55Speaker 7: Actually so the lightning they they dented it after their parade,
- 29:00Speaker 7: that avalanche dented.
- 29:01Speaker 6: It during the Stanley Cup presentation. You got your dents
- 29:04Speaker 6: mixed stup.
- 29:04Speaker 2: There not the only one that happens.
- 29:07Speaker 7: Yeah, you know what it's I guess if the Stanley
- 29:11Speaker 7: Cup could talk guys, it would be a best seller
- 29:14Speaker 7: because the dings and dents it has.
- 29:18Speaker 6: Uh, how do we when you and.
- 29:20Speaker 7: I are one hundred and thirty two, one hundred and
- 29:22Speaker 7: thirty two years old, we're going to have dings and
- 29:24Speaker 7: dents on us? If we could tell each story it'd
- 29:27Speaker 7: be amazing. The Stanley Cup story much more better than
- 29:31Speaker 7: that that that one that happened in Tampa, h southern Florida.
- 29:38Speaker 7: You know, in the summer the weather changes so fast.
- 29:41Speaker 7: The parade went great. It was on the it was
- 29:43Speaker 7: on the bay in Tampa. It was fine, Sonny, and
- 29:46Speaker 7: all of a sudden a storm came and started pouring
- 29:49Speaker 7: down and the ground was slippery in that. And I
- 29:53Speaker 7: remember Pat Roon there was he was watching this little family.
- 29:58Speaker 7: They were trying to get up to the cup, a
- 29:59Speaker 7: little girl, and he went over and he did the
- 30:02Speaker 7: right thing. He said, do you want a photo with it,
- 30:04Speaker 7: I'll bring it down to So he stood down and
- 30:07Speaker 7: bent down. But as he did, he slipped. And it's
- 30:11Speaker 7: one of those, you know stories that will live forever.
- 30:15Speaker 7: And there's Pat room names three times on it. Everyone
- 30:19Speaker 7: knows him as a Stanley Cup champion three times, but
- 30:22Speaker 7: they also know him as the guy.
- 30:24Speaker 6: To put the dent in which.
- 30:27Speaker 2: Phil I want to ask you. We talked to you
- 30:30Speaker 2: last year on Stanley Cup Live, and I've seen like
- 30:33Speaker 2: a video about it. But I love when you talk
- 30:34Speaker 2: about you know, how you've kept all your white gloves
- 30:37Speaker 2: and from your time with the cup, and is there
- 30:40Speaker 2: is there a pair that you know is the most
- 30:44Speaker 2: sentimental to you or the one that kind of sticks
- 30:47Speaker 2: with you. I know, there's just it's endless.
- 30:49Speaker 6: Yeah, you know what. It's funny because my wife was
- 30:53Speaker 6: here right now.
- 30:54Speaker 7: I'd put her on and she'd tell you every pair
- 30:56Speaker 7: should go in the garbage, get rid of them.
- 30:57Speaker 6: They have here at home.
- 31:02Speaker 7: But it's funny because we the white gloves in museums
- 31:07Speaker 7: date back a long time. We've been wearing them well
- 31:10Speaker 7: before we walked out in the ice with them, and
- 31:14Speaker 7: every curator at every museum in the world, whether it's
- 31:16Speaker 7: an art gallery, hockey Hall of Fame, whatever it is,
- 31:18Speaker 7: they wear white gloves and basically our fingerprints have oils
- 31:22Speaker 7: in them. So we kind of brought them from behind
- 31:25Speaker 7: the scenes to in the forefront. Tried to pay the
- 31:30Speaker 7: respect that the cup we think deserves and should demand
- 31:34Speaker 7: type of thing by carrying it with white gloves. So
- 31:37Speaker 7: my first pair I ever wore with the Stanley Cup
- 31:40Speaker 7: I've kept. That's probably the.
- 31:42Speaker 6: One that means the most because way back then.
- 31:47Speaker 7: I kept that pair, and then I kept the next pair,
- 31:49Speaker 7: and I thought, well, okay, I keep the next pair
- 31:51Speaker 7: and I keep.
- 31:53Speaker 6: What I mean, I'm up to like four hundred and
- 31:55Speaker 6: fifty two pairs. It's ridiculous, but I've got them all,
- 32:00Speaker 6: and all the final ones I have tagged in the
- 32:03Speaker 6: bags of what what it was? The final? The rest
- 32:07Speaker 6: are per season type of thing.
- 32:09Speaker 7: Ah, so I guess as a whole day they're They're
- 32:14Speaker 7: all pretty special.
- 32:15Speaker 6: But the first pair were pretty unique.
- 32:18Speaker 7: And who knew that all these years later, I'd still
- 32:21Speaker 7: be hanging on to them.
- 32:24Speaker 3: Never forget your first time?
- 32:25Speaker 6: Well well said, Well said, you know, six.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Weeks ago in Toronto, you appeared a Phil Pritchard lookalike
- 32:32Speaker 1: contest at Keep Her Con. How surreal was that it was?
- 32:37Speaker 7: I remember when the league brought up the idea and
- 32:41Speaker 7: I kind of laughed and no one else laughed.
- 32:43Speaker 6: And I'm thinking, okay, what kind of joke is this?
- 32:46Speaker 7: And they said it'd be pretty cool like people, I mean,
- 32:50Speaker 7: this is a fun thing to do. And it became
- 32:54Speaker 7: a fun thing to do and people showed up with
- 32:57Speaker 7: bad haircuts like mine, and.
- 32:59Speaker 8: You know it was it was good and I think
- 33:02Speaker 8: more than anything tall it it showed that hockey is
- 33:09Speaker 8: is fun as well, and people had a good time
- 33:12Speaker 8: with it.
- 33:12Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 33:13Speaker 6: I brought my daughter out to it.
- 33:15Speaker 9: And she knew more people than I did there and
- 33:18Speaker 9: I don't know how, and that my daughter is mid twenties,
- 33:21Speaker 9: so it really shows the age, the broad range of
- 33:24Speaker 9: age that people were.
- 33:26Speaker 6: Attracted to it by it.
- 33:28Speaker 7: It was fun and I hope we do it again
- 33:30Speaker 7: next year and maybe more people will come out and
- 33:32Speaker 7: we can go from there.
- 33:35Speaker 2: Have you did you see anybody there that was like
- 33:38Speaker 2: a little creeper? And I was wondering, like, do you
- 33:40Speaker 2: ever do you have like has there ever been any
- 33:43Speaker 2: like stalker incidences or anything like that of people like
- 33:46Speaker 2: trying to track your movements or you know, I don't
- 33:49Speaker 2: feel like there'd be a couple of fanatics around, you
- 33:52Speaker 2: know what.
- 33:52Speaker 7: I uh, it scared me when I you know, I
- 33:56Speaker 7: came outside and the event was outside.
- 33:58Speaker 6: It was a beautiful afternoon, and there's all these people
- 34:00Speaker 6: dressed like me. I'm thinking all the smokes am. I
- 34:02Speaker 6: look in the mirror a whole bunch of times here,
- 34:04Speaker 6: like what's happening?
- 34:07Speaker 7: I think that the stalker things probably a bit watch
- 34:11Speaker 7: Hockey fans, as you know, are so passionate and so honorable,
- 34:16Speaker 7: and they see us pushing the case and they got
- 34:20Speaker 7: a ton of questions and then they start sharing memories
- 34:22Speaker 7: with you, and then you we kind of come out
- 34:25Speaker 7: and ask them, Hey, do you want to see it
- 34:27Speaker 7: in that? And they're they're just so thrilled, And I
- 34:31Speaker 7: think it really brings out the humanity side of people.
- 34:34Speaker 7: And as we know, hockey fans are around the world
- 34:38Speaker 7: are so passionate not only about the players, but the
- 34:40Speaker 7: teams and the history and the evolution of it and everything.
- 34:44Speaker 6: So to be a little part of the history of
- 34:47Speaker 6: the game, it's it's a lot.
- 34:48Speaker 1: Of fun People often joke pil what they would do
- 34:52Speaker 1: if they had a chance to win the Stanley Cup.
- 34:53Speaker 1: You know what they would put in the cup? You've
- 34:55Speaker 1: seen it firsthand? What's the most unique?
- 34:58Speaker 2: Should I put it?
- 34:59Speaker 3: Food or drink that you've seen consumed out of the cup?
- 35:03Speaker 2: Still go unique?
- 35:04Speaker 7: Me disgusting, Stay away from unique.
- 35:07Speaker 6: You know what.
- 35:08Speaker 7: It's funny because a lot of the a lot of
- 35:12Speaker 7: the players and the staff and that have different things
- 35:14Speaker 7: out of it. And you ask them why do they
- 35:17Speaker 7: want to do that, and then they explained the history
- 35:20Speaker 7: behind it, and then it makes a lot of sense.
- 35:24Speaker 7: I remember years ago Thomas Kopecky won the Cup of
- 35:27Speaker 7: the Blackhawks, and he's from the middle of Slovakia and
- 35:32Speaker 7: his mom is makes this traditional Slovakian soup and he
- 35:37Speaker 7: wanted to put it in and he wanted to serve
- 35:40Speaker 7: it to all his family. The soup that mum made
- 35:43Speaker 7: and translated to English, it's the inside of the stomach
- 35:47Speaker 7: of a cow soup.
- 35:48Speaker 6: Wow. I don't know how to pronounce it in Slovakia,
- 35:52Speaker 6: but it was.
- 35:52Speaker 7: It was really good soup, Like there was dumplings and
- 35:55Speaker 7: all sorts of that in there.
- 35:57Speaker 6: I didn't eat it out of the cup.
- 35:58Speaker 2: I mean, they gave him more than that.
- 36:01Speaker 7: But at first, you I tell someone that's the inside
- 36:05Speaker 7: of the stomach of a cow soup, and they.
- 36:07Speaker 6: Think why why would he do that?
- 36:09Speaker 7: But then he explains what what his mom meant to
- 36:12Speaker 7: him and they would play hockey and they'd come in
- 36:15Speaker 7: and get warm, and his mom would have the soup
- 36:17Speaker 7: and it means a whole bunch. And that's I think
- 36:20Speaker 7: that's pretty cool because the guys all of these moments
- 36:24Speaker 7: throughout their life, they're important to them.
- 36:28Speaker 1: Yeah, there's no question about it. H talgo ahead, you
- 36:31Speaker 1: got a couple fours, so close it up.
- 36:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I just uh had a couple of quick ones.
- 36:36Speaker 10: I've I've been fortunate enough to actually be at certain
- 36:39Speaker 10: players or executives' days with the cup after they've.
- 36:42Speaker 2: Won it, and the most nab.
- 36:45Speaker 6: Yeah. Yeah.
- 36:46Speaker 10: Working working for NHL dot Com, I was with Jonathan
- 36:49Speaker 10: Tays in Winnipeg one day, and I was with Dean
- 36:52Speaker 10: Lombardi of the former GM of the Kings when he
- 36:55Speaker 10: took it to his small hometown in Massachusetts, and he
- 36:58Speaker 10: took it to his youth hockey coach's house, and it
- 37:02Speaker 10: was incredible, like the whole youth hockey team was there
- 37:04Speaker 10: with the cup at this you know, eighty something year
- 37:06Speaker 10: old men's house in smalltown Massachusetts. I'm just curious if
- 37:09Speaker 10: there's a moment where someone shared the cup with a
- 37:12Speaker 10: family member or a friend or whatever it may be
- 37:15Speaker 10: where you, even with all the experience you've had, Phil,
- 37:18Speaker 10: you were there and you were getting goosebumps.
- 37:20Speaker 2: Thinking, Wow, this is a special moment right here.
- 37:22Speaker 7: I like you gave Dean's an example that youth hockey
- 37:27Speaker 7: coach meant so much to Dean and other people in
- 37:30Speaker 7: that town that that's an important part of his growing
- 37:34Speaker 7: up and turning into a GM. To me, the most
- 37:37Speaker 7: passionate ones are when they take it to cemeteries for
- 37:40Speaker 7: past ones and they sit in quietness and just reminisce
- 37:46Speaker 7: over everything.
- 37:48Speaker 6: That is so powerful to me.
- 37:50Speaker 7: Yeah, they all have parties at night in that and
- 37:52Speaker 7: they're great, But it's the moments like that that you said,
- 37:56Speaker 7: hell and the cemetery visits and the eating soup out
- 38:01Speaker 7: of it with your family, those are the ones that
- 38:03Speaker 7: are really really important. And I go back to the
- 38:06Speaker 7: beginning when I said if the cup could talk, those
- 38:09Speaker 7: stories are the ones that need to be shared more. Yeah,
- 38:12Speaker 7: there's great parties in that and everyone can have a party,
- 38:15Speaker 7: but it's those moments that the guys think about, and
- 38:18Speaker 7: I'm sure they think about it a lot.
- 38:21Speaker 6: If I get that chance to bring it home, what
- 38:23Speaker 6: am I going to do? And that makes it so unique.
- 38:27Speaker 10: And last one for me, Phil, I just was curious.
- 38:30Speaker 10: You know, we talked about Glen Helly and Nick Kippios
- 38:32Speaker 10: losing the cup. What moments do you recall were for
- 38:35Speaker 10: even a moment you looked around and thought, where's the cup?
- 38:38Speaker 2: Where is it?
- 38:40Speaker 7: You know what a Timo Solani's kind of city hall
- 38:44Speaker 7: party party in Helsinki, Finland. I think like ten thousand
- 38:48Speaker 7: people showed up and Timo, you know, an ugly guy.
- 38:52Speaker 6: Nobody likes.
- 38:55Speaker 2: What a bad guy.
- 38:57Speaker 6: Everybody hates it. He's not nice or anything. He's tied
- 39:01Speaker 6: up with everybody.
- 39:03Speaker 7: And we had the cup up on this stage and
- 39:05Speaker 7: all you could see was people everywhere and it was
- 39:07Speaker 7: like there's team of where's the cup at? And it's
- 39:13Speaker 7: really cool in filing because like Canada, that's the national sport,
- 39:17Speaker 7: I mean, and they love it. And to for have
- 39:20Speaker 7: everyone there saluting and cheering team that I In some
- 39:25Speaker 7: aspects I wish I could speak more languages because I'm
- 39:27Speaker 7: sure the stories that are told all then I could
- 39:29Speaker 7: share all of.
- 39:30Speaker 6: Them as well.
- 39:32Speaker 1: Bill Pritcher, the keeper of the Cup, this was awesome
- 39:34Speaker 1: and you've got stories for days. We can't think enough.
- 39:36Speaker 1: Have a wonderful Stanley Cup final. Phil, We watch and
- 39:39Speaker 1: thank you so much.
- 39:40Speaker 6: All right, guys, thanks a lot. We'll pat with you soon.
- 39:50Speaker 1: JD was convinced that brock Delves was going to return
- 39:52Speaker 1: to his hosted in Minnesota and side with the Wild
- 39:54Speaker 1: as a free agent.
- 39:55Speaker 3: Never made it to the market, though the.
- 39:56Speaker 1: Avalanche pooning up three years twenty two point five million dollars. Reportedly,
- 40:01Speaker 1: they acquired Nelson the Islanders to trade deadline to make
- 40:04Speaker 1: it run it back this year.
- 40:05Speaker 3: As a number two center behind Nathan McKinnon.
- 40:07Speaker 1: Your thoughts on Nelson getting over seven million dollars a year.
- 40:10Speaker 2: Well, Billy Garon and the Minnesota Wild, what a fucking
- 40:14Speaker 2: miss this was? Uh, this is what happens. Uh. We
- 40:20Speaker 2: had Alex Kolgowski on the show, and I don't know
- 40:22Speaker 2: if he said it on the show, but he said,
- 40:25Speaker 2: he's he you know, we've we've kind of talked, and
- 40:28Speaker 2: it's just one of those things like if the guy's
- 40:30Speaker 2: available at the deadline and you want him and you think,
- 40:34Speaker 2: don't wait to free agency to sign him, you're giving
- 40:37Speaker 2: a team the opportunity to woo him for six months
- 40:41Speaker 2: and woo him. They did, because Brock Nelson ends up signing,
- 40:45Speaker 2: stays in Colorado, you know, and now you look at
- 40:49Speaker 2: the Minnesota Wild, I'm more, I'm more look at the
- 40:51Speaker 2: Minnesota while they need a centerment because Carol caprice Off
- 40:56Speaker 2: is not going to stay if they don't get him
- 40:58Speaker 2: a centerment. He ain't staying. He's going somewhere else. Uh,
- 41:02Speaker 2: He's gonna take the show. The Caprice off show in
- 41:04Speaker 2: the road, and I think they missed very, very you
- 41:08Speaker 2: know it was it was a huge miss by Minnesota
- 41:11Speaker 2: because they didn't do anything at the deadline, and I
- 41:13Speaker 2: thought they should have chased at least a big name
- 41:16Speaker 2: because you were getting all that dead cap money coming off,
- 41:19Speaker 2: as well as career was getting healthy. You saw what
- 41:22Speaker 2: they did with the limited team in Round one. They
- 41:25Speaker 2: had a chance to beat Vegas. They would have added
- 41:27Speaker 2: at Powerhouse, they could have won a nice run with
- 41:30Speaker 2: this great team that they have. So I just think
- 41:32Speaker 2: this is what happens when you stand pat and you
- 41:36Speaker 2: risk the you risk not getting the guy you want ultimately,
- 41:40Speaker 2: and that's the guy they wanted was Brock Nelson. I
- 41:41Speaker 2: think Bill Geron was pretty convinced he was coming. But again,
- 41:45Speaker 2: you give six months to a team to you know,
- 41:49Speaker 2: tickle the taint, so to speak, and this is what happens.
- 41:52Speaker 2: The taint was tickled, and the money was spent and
- 41:56Speaker 2: the contract was signed, and uh yeah, everybody came.
- 42:02Speaker 3: Good alliteration there, especially at the ending.
- 42:04Speaker 1: Nelson, by the way, fifty six points, twenty six goals,
- 42:07Speaker 1: thirty six eighty regular season games, thirteen points in nineteen
- 42:10Speaker 1: games with the Avalanche after he was acquired in that
- 42:12Speaker 1: trade could have been a UFA had four assists and
- 42:14Speaker 1: seven Stelely Cup playoff games.
- 42:16Speaker 3: So you're right, you got a.
- 42:16Speaker 1: Little taste of Colorado. Loves thee loves being there like
- 42:19Speaker 1: the right rock.
- 42:20Speaker 2: Yeah, they get their center depth, right, So it's like,
- 42:22Speaker 2: now they got three centers. You know, do I think
- 42:26Speaker 2: signing Charlie Coyle and Brock Nelson to twelve and a
- 42:29Speaker 2: half million when you could have just had Miko rant
- 42:31Speaker 2: In for that money. Yeah, you two players for the
- 42:34Speaker 2: price of one. But Mico Ranton's pretty pretty good. Yeah,
- 42:38Speaker 2: So I kind of like we just did a whole
- 42:40Speaker 2: roundabout circle. But you know, they got their center depth.
- 42:43Speaker 2: Now they're just gonna have to build that out. But
- 42:45Speaker 2: it was a lot to give up Callum Ritchie first
- 42:47Speaker 2: round pick, second round pick, and now he spent seven
- 42:50Speaker 2: and a half sch million dollars.
- 42:54Speaker 1: Meantime, the Pittsburgh Penguan was finally replacement for Mike Sullivan.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Sullivan's travels, he moves on to New York Damn Hues
- 43:00Speaker 1: with a team's new head coach, Salvan. The Penns part
- 43:03Speaker 1: ways April twenty eth ten, seasons and two Stanley Cups.
- 43:06Speaker 2: He's the Rangers coach. Muse by the way, forty two years.
- 43:08Speaker 1: Of age, young man, assistant coach of the past few
- 43:10Speaker 1: seasons with Peter Laviolette and the Rangers. Was also an
- 43:14Speaker 1: assistant under lavvy for three seasons in Nashville.
- 43:17Speaker 2: Off the board, pick Jad.
- 43:18Speaker 1: He did not hear many people talking about Dan Mues
- 43:20Speaker 1: being a head coach in Pittsburgh.
- 43:22Speaker 2: Yeah, muse boosh, yes, uh yeah. Not much on him,
- 43:28Speaker 2: not much scouting report on him. You know, I think
- 43:31Speaker 2: he was. He's been part of the US development program,
- 43:33Speaker 2: so he knows a lot. He deals with young kids,
- 43:36Speaker 2: whatever that means to you young hockey players. I think
- 43:40Speaker 2: this is more of a pick like Bill Armstrong did
- 43:45Speaker 2: in Utah with Andre TURINGI nothing against either one of
- 43:48Speaker 2: these coaches, but I think it's a coach that is
- 43:52Speaker 2: super excited to get the job is going to make
- 43:54Speaker 2: a little bit less and Kyle Dubis can kind of
- 43:58Speaker 2: pull the strings a little bit and he'll understand, and
- 44:02Speaker 2: Dan Muse will understand, and they will kind of be
- 44:04Speaker 2: like one brain and he will play the team as
- 44:08Speaker 2: Kyle dubases fit like moneyball, where it's like you can't
- 44:11Speaker 2: put Carlos payn on first because they traded Carlos Paana.
- 44:15Speaker 2: Nice there you go. Hold so so yeah, so I
- 44:18Speaker 2: think it's uh, it's one of those hopefully, you know.
- 44:22Speaker 2: I'm just it's an interesting one because you look at
- 44:27Speaker 2: you know, Kyle dubis is really putting his mark on
- 44:29Speaker 2: this team, and you wonder what's next for the older
- 44:31Speaker 2: guys there, the Crosby's, the Malkins, the Latang's, and you know,
- 44:36Speaker 2: I could see a world in which Latang and Malkin
- 44:38Speaker 2: are not there come Game one of the season.
- 44:42Speaker 1: And I mean just the amount of parel they have
- 44:44Speaker 1: that you spoke about Minnesota having dead money coming out
- 44:47Speaker 1: the cap. With Pittsburgh, it's like they've got so much
- 44:48Speaker 1: money right now locked up in those major players. Obviously
- 44:51Speaker 1: sinking it whatever he wants. But you're right when it
- 44:53Speaker 1: comes to Latang, malcol and others, it's it's gonna take
- 44:55Speaker 1: a little bit of creativity.
- 44:56Speaker 2: There from Kyle dupis.
- 44:57Speaker 1: A couple more thoughts here, Nikita kuchro Off, your boy
- 45:00Speaker 1: wins The Ted Lindsay wore most of the standing players
- 45:02Speaker 1: voted by members at the NHLPA t end of the
- 45:04Speaker 1: last eleven Lindsay Award winners have gone to win the
- 45:06Speaker 1: Heart Trophy as League MVP, including Kutrop who won it
- 45:10Speaker 1: back in twenty nineteen. I think Hellibuck's still the favorite
- 45:13Speaker 1: to win. He's a finalist alongside Leon drys Little. But
- 45:16Speaker 1: are you convinced now, Jad the Kutrov will win the Heart.
- 45:19Speaker 2: No, he's gonna get robbed again. They're gonna rob him again.
- 45:23Speaker 2: This poor guy should have won the Heart last fucking
- 45:26Speaker 2: three years and he's just gonna get robbed just because
- 45:28Speaker 2: he didn't want to try at the All Star Game.
- 45:30Speaker 2: So that's on him. This is the consequences of those actions.
- 45:35Speaker 2: But yeah, I think. I mean it was funny sing
- 45:37Speaker 2: him with no beard. He looked like looked like a
- 45:41Speaker 2: used car salesman there. I was like sending Kat to Koutrov.
- 45:44Speaker 2: I just like a little scruff. He had nothing. He
- 45:46Speaker 2: was down to the wood. I didn't love it. He
- 45:47Speaker 2: looked like he you know, he's shaved down like you.
- 45:50Speaker 2: And I was like it was weird, weird.
- 45:52Speaker 1: It's true, certain guys just look better with facial hair,
- 45:54Speaker 1: Like I just take it, like I think Tali the
- 45:57Speaker 1: mustache should be awful.
- 45:58Speaker 2: Oh my god, he'd be chinless. He's got an some mustache.
- 46:05Speaker 6: Though.
- 46:05Speaker 2: I can't go down to the wood. I can't go
- 46:07Speaker 2: down of the wood either. If I go down to
- 46:08Speaker 2: the wood, I look like I'm one years old, and
- 46:11Speaker 2: I got like my neck gets like bread. It's oh,
- 46:14Speaker 2: it's awful. Oh oh yeah, babyface. But yeah, he should
- 46:21Speaker 2: win it. He's gonna get robbed. It'll be Connor hellibuck.
- 46:24Speaker 2: You heard it here first fans.
- 46:26Speaker 1: And last night before we get to centophon sixty. You know,
- 46:28Speaker 1: both teams looking for any sort of home ice advantage.
- 46:30Speaker 1: What about the Oilers though, ice from the hometown rinks
- 46:33Speaker 1: of six Oilers players Connor mc David, Ryan, hug and
- 46:36Speaker 1: Hopkins ever edricated among them and they shipped the water
- 46:39Speaker 1: to Edmonton as it was added to the ice surface
- 46:42Speaker 1: at Rogers's Place for the series. Makes me think about
- 46:43Speaker 1: the Olympics, Memember Gretzky playing with the magic Looney there
- 46:46Speaker 1: in that game at Salt Lake against America. You think
- 46:48Speaker 1: of teams doing things like this, but rather unique tactic.
- 46:51Speaker 1: I've never heard of this one.
- 46:51Speaker 2: JD. This is so stupid. There's something that they were
- 46:56Speaker 2: so dominant, There's something in the world they were so
- 47:00Speaker 2: dominant at home. Why are you bringing ice? Why are
- 47:02Speaker 2: you changing the ice surface? And I didn't think the
- 47:04Speaker 2: ice was great history and nothing. You know, they do
- 47:06Speaker 2: magic over these ice crews, but I just did feel
- 47:10Speaker 2: like it's doing a lot. But listen, we're all pulling
- 47:13Speaker 2: for we need Canada win one. And I think it's
- 47:15Speaker 2: fucking anything. You know, it's anything. We'll do anything, We
- 47:20Speaker 2: will do anything to get that. Gosh, darn Stanley Cup
- 47:24Speaker 2: on this side of the border. But yeah, I was
- 47:27Speaker 2: kind of like, what was like Calvin Pickard's hometown, Darnell Nurse.
- 47:31Speaker 2: I just kind of like, gee, Judas Priest, Yeah.
- 47:33Speaker 1: A little yeah, all right, last that I want to
- 47:36Speaker 1: tell the way and I'm friendship Paul Rudsny movie. But
- 47:39Speaker 1: a quick cent of file in sixty Matt doc Russian
- 47:41Speaker 1: was here. We were talking about Gene Hackman. He was
- 47:43Speaker 1: telling me how Ben Manko WIT's my buddy from TCM
- 47:45Speaker 1: on and talk about Hackman's career, and he said he
- 47:46Speaker 1: mentioned a couple of movies most people don't know. One
- 47:48Speaker 1: of them is called Night Moves, which I did end
- 47:50Speaker 1: up watching. It's available Criterion, excellent Gene Hackman movie. It's
- 47:54Speaker 1: funny because that era.
- 47:55Speaker 3: You know, he won the Oscar for French Connection. He's
- 47:56Speaker 3: great in The Scarecrow.
- 47:58Speaker 1: The Conversation is a great Copla movie from nineteen seventy four,
- 48:00Speaker 1: but seventy five was Night Moves.
- 48:02Speaker 2: It's a really good thriller.
- 48:03Speaker 1: You know, he's he's she's gene hack, but he's brash,
- 48:05Speaker 1: he's tough, he's not gonna take any shit. You know,
- 48:07Speaker 1: he's gonna face like a beer mug. What's also notable
- 48:10Speaker 1: about it is Melanie Griffith plays this runaway teenage girl
- 48:12Speaker 1: in the movie. And I'm watching you know when you
- 48:14Speaker 1: watch me go she looks a little young for this
- 48:16Speaker 1: start and then go, yeah, he's the mid seventies. Wait
- 48:18Speaker 1: is that her ass? I hope it's a body double.
- 48:19Speaker 1: Wait that's a little side tits. Wow, it's a lot.
- 48:21Speaker 1: I look up Baffords to Go Home. Was Mellie Griffith born.
- 48:23Speaker 1: I'm like, okay, the math on this. The movie came
- 48:26Speaker 1: out in seventy five. That means she would have been eighteen.
- 48:29Speaker 1: The movie, of course, was not shot in seventy five,
- 48:31Speaker 1: so I'm like, that means that's seventeen.
- 48:32Speaker 2: I really hope it was.
- 48:33Speaker 3: A Body Double. I know it was the seventies, A
- 48:34Speaker 3: lot of different shit went on.
- 48:35Speaker 1: Julia phllips Is, you remember her memoir, But Melie Griffith
- 48:39Speaker 1: showed a lot and really getting it done.
- 48:41Speaker 2: Night moves. Yeah, Well have you ever seen I feel
- 48:43Speaker 2: like there's no all that young kids shit was going on.
- 48:46Speaker 2: You've ever seen the video of like uh with Demi Moore,
- 48:49Speaker 2: like kissing with the like twelve year old boy they're
- 48:51Speaker 2: playing like piano like it's uh litt Like Hollywood's fucked
- 48:55Speaker 2: greasy man, especially people with especially in the seventies.
- 49:00Speaker 3: Yes, anything goes, but it's a really good movie.
- 49:02Speaker 2: I enjoyed it.
- 49:02Speaker 1: So thanks to Matt dog Russa for commending Piece of
- 49:05Speaker 1: Ben make Witz Criterion.
- 49:07Speaker 2: The best take he's ever made.
- 49:08Speaker 1: Absolutely in a good movie recommendation for me and Tal
- 49:11Speaker 1: just saw Friendship.
- 49:12Speaker 2: We love Paul Rudd. He's a huge can say rule.
- 49:14Speaker 1: Yes, he was at the Royals game last year You're
- 49:16Speaker 1: doppel Ganger. He ran, by the way in the hot
- 49:18Speaker 1: dog race.
- 49:18Speaker 2: Rudd won.
- 49:19Speaker 3: I think he was ketchup. I'm not sure which one
- 49:20Speaker 3: he was, but he won.
- 49:21Speaker 2: He was great.
- 49:22Speaker 3: And Tal just saw his new movie Go ahead, Tell.
- 49:24Speaker 10: Yeah, Friendship with with Paul Rudd kind of playing his
- 49:28Speaker 10: character from Anchorman Brian Fantana a little bit. He's even
- 49:32Speaker 10: got the the moustache to go with it and the
- 49:35Speaker 10: hair do and it's you know, you're a yeah, oh
- 49:42Speaker 10: yeah sex Panther. Was that the name of his fragrance anyways? Yeah,
- 49:48Speaker 10: so very you know it's it's it's Paul Rudd and
- 49:51Speaker 10: and Tim Robinson. Snl'm Tim Robinson. If a lot of
- 49:55Speaker 10: people know him from his I Think Hilarious show on
- 49:58Speaker 10: Netflix I Think Leave So good and also on Netflix
- 50:03Speaker 10: if you haven't seen it, count rec enough Detroiters with
- 50:05Speaker 10: Tim Robinson and his buddy Sam Richardson, who are both
- 50:08Speaker 10: huge Detroit sports fans, and it's this. This is basically friendship.
- 50:14Speaker 10: It's basically a ninety minute sketch from I Think You
- 50:17Speaker 10: Should Leave, which, if you love the show, is a
- 50:19Speaker 10: great thing. Tim Robinson kind of plays this buffoonish, clueless
- 50:24Speaker 10: guy in a dead end job where no one takes
- 50:26Speaker 10: him seriously. His wife, who's played by Kate Mara, who's
- 50:30Speaker 10: excellent actually in the film, is kind of a woman
- 50:33Speaker 10: who's starting to tire of her buffoonish husband, and he
- 50:37Speaker 10: meets his new neighbor played by Paul Rudd, and the
- 50:41Speaker 10: craziness just kind of escalates from there. Dark but hilarious
- 50:47Speaker 10: at the same time. An interesting combination, and it really
- 50:52Speaker 10: plays into like all these unique concepts of what quantifies
- 50:57Speaker 10: or qualifies like male friendship, you know, balancing like vulnerability
- 51:02Speaker 10: with the toxic masculinity.
- 51:04Speaker 2: It's it's really interesting.
- 51:06Speaker 10: It's it's written and directed by this guy, Andrew DeYoung,
- 51:10Speaker 10: who has directed a lot of hilarious TV shows like
- 51:13Speaker 10: Our Flag Means Death and UH and Penn fifteen and Shrill,
- 51:18Speaker 10: And you know, if you're a Tim Robinson fan, you
- 51:20Speaker 10: gotta see it. I'd say, if you're a Paul Rudd fan,
- 51:22Speaker 10: it's worth checking out. If you're not a fan of
- 51:26Speaker 10: kind of dark, bizarre comedy, it might not be your thing.
- 51:30Speaker 10: But I loved it because that's my jam.
- 51:33Speaker 2: So I can't wait. I can't I can't wait to
- 51:36Speaker 2: watch it. In a very a very astute review, tell
- 51:40Speaker 2: like those up pins and needles that whole time, we
- 51:42Speaker 2: can tell that you're Trent Yanni right now and you
- 51:46Speaker 2: got through that him gotta get him a cafe ola.
- 51:50Speaker 2: I mean, I think his sketch show, Tim Robinson is
- 51:54Speaker 2: so funny. It's it's so good of like, there's so
- 51:58Speaker 2: many it's so stupid, but gosh, there's just some good ones.
- 52:01Speaker 2: But the ones that can you even fucking drive? He's like, no,
- 52:04Speaker 2: I don't know how to I don't know how He's like, what,
- 52:07Speaker 2: I don't know how to drive? And I'm really scared
- 52:10Speaker 2: right now. This sketch where he's on like a folks
- 52:13Speaker 2: I could be a comedian.
- 52:15Speaker 10: He's a like a Bachelorette style show and all he
- 52:18Speaker 10: wants to do is a zip line into the pool,
- 52:21Speaker 10: and the bachelorette just so is she just during elimination
- 52:26Speaker 10: just says I think you're just here for the zip
- 52:28Speaker 10: line and it's just I could watch that over and
- 52:30Speaker 10: over again.
- 52:31Speaker 2: Amazing. Yeah.
