- 1:52Speaker 3: kind of like back in a little bit of a routine,
- 1:54Speaker 3: which I actually kind of like. I'm not like a
- 1:58Speaker 3: huge structure guy, but I like a little bit of
- 2:00Speaker 3: folding around.
- 2:01Speaker 2: My life absolutely, So that's nice.
- 2:05Speaker 3: Yeah, holidays were great. I don't know, life's good man.

- 3:21Speaker 3: and one of those is we do a little a
- 3:23Speaker 3: little add on list at the end of the podcast
- 3:26Speaker 3: to rank something and for this we're gonna do. This
- 3:30Speaker 3: is our best of twenty twenty four edition. Here a
- 3:33Speaker 3: recap of the last year, and we're doing movies in
- 3:36Speaker 3: the first part. We're gonna do TV shows in the
- 3:38Speaker 3: second part.
- 3:39Speaker 2: So which is pretty exciting.
- 3:40Speaker 3: If that's your jam in the new year, come on
- 3:42Speaker 3: over Patreon dot com slash the Oven endorsement.
- 3:45Speaker 2: Boom love it well, dude, why don't we why don't
- 3:50Speaker 2: we get started and start talking about doing.
- 3:53Speaker 3: A good job. Was I doing a good job? For
- 3:55Speaker 3: a sight? I thought you were really clause.
- 3:57Speaker 2: Yeah, did a great job.
- 4:01Speaker 3: I stopped like kind of as a joke, and I
- 4:03Speaker 3: was like, I'm doing good. I'm gonna hold it.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Let's go back. Here we go, let's do this, Let's
- 4:08Speaker 2: do our movies. Do you want to go first? What
- 4:12Speaker 2: was your number one movie of twenty twenty four?
- 4:14Speaker 3: I would love to go first. Roup. This was a
- 4:16Speaker 3: movie I saw, I think thrice in the theater. I
- 4:20Speaker 3: loved this film. Thrice a really fun time. Maybe it's
- 4:25Speaker 3: only two in one, it doesn't matter. I saw a
- 4:26Speaker 3: couple times in the theater for sure, Deadpool and Wolverine.
- 4:30Speaker 3: My friend, I you saw thrice straight, you know, like
- 4:35Speaker 3: it's right in the MCU. It's some nerd stuff, you know.
- 4:37Speaker 3: I like this stuff. Anyway. I thought this movie was
- 4:40Speaker 3: a fun like a mix of serious and also like
- 4:44Speaker 3: not taking itself too serious. It really towed the line
- 4:47Speaker 3: really well for me, and I had a great time.
- 4:51Speaker 3: Hugh Jackman as Wolverine is just great, you know. Obviously
- 4:55Speaker 3: Ryan Reynolds as wonderful as Deadpool. And we got to
- 4:58Speaker 3: see like a thousand other characters in this movie, uh dude,
- 5:04Speaker 3: you know, and like cameos, and then it ended with
- 5:07Speaker 3: this like could have been like jokey, you know, like
- 5:12Speaker 3: montage of all the old Fox films, right, but was
- 5:17Speaker 3: actually beautiful and I loved it. So I just had
- 5:19Speaker 3: a great time watching this movie. It's not like perfect
- 5:22Speaker 3: by any means, but it felt like it was just
- 5:25Speaker 3: fun and I had a good time with it.
- 5:28Speaker 2: Dude, I am right there with you. I thought it
- 5:30Speaker 2: was so much fun, from the opening credits that were
- 5:33Speaker 2: hilarious to all those incredible cameos. Who was one after
- 5:37Speaker 2: the other. I felt like I missed a bunch of
- 5:41Speaker 2: the jokes because it was so fast, like everything was
- 5:44Speaker 2: happening so fast. I only saw it the one time,
- 5:49Speaker 2: but it was one of my favorite theater experiences of
- 5:52Speaker 2: the year. And yeah, it's not my number one, but
- 5:55Speaker 2: it's it's very close.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Oh it's up there. Oh I love it. Okay, it's
- 5:58Speaker 3: way up there. Yeah. So I just I loved it.
- 6:01Speaker 3: But I can't. I cannot wait any longer to hear
- 6:03Speaker 3: your number one, please.
- 6:05Speaker 2: My number one. It was pretty early in the year.
- 6:10Speaker 2: I went with another huge blockbuster movie. I went with Dune,
- 6:14Speaker 2: Part two. Love It, Love It blew my mind. Of course,
- 6:21Speaker 2: this was the Denny Villeneuve film Who We Love and
- 6:27Speaker 2: just how he shoots a film. There were so many
- 6:30Speaker 2: incredible scenes in this movie. Timothy Shallams and Day, Rebecca Ferguson,
- 6:37Speaker 2: Javier Barden, Josh Broland, Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Dave Bautista,
- 6:42Speaker 2: Christopher walking LEAs say do stealin Scarsguard. It's insane. It's
- 6:47Speaker 2: like it's like an Avengers movie.
- 6:50Speaker 3: Stars Guard is that far down the list, Like, what
- 6:52Speaker 3: are we even doing? Dude? It's nutty.
- 6:55Speaker 2: I'm with you, and there's still there's still people in it.
- 6:57Speaker 2: So incredible cast, some of the coolest moments in theater history.
- 7:06Speaker 2: I just I loved it the first film, you know,
- 7:11Speaker 2: I was kind of bummed out because I didn't know
- 7:12Speaker 2: it was a part one, yes yep, and so going
- 7:17Speaker 2: in knowing it's a part two, feeling more prepared, I
- 7:22Speaker 2: loved it so.
- 7:23Speaker 3: Much, so so good, really great. Yeah, I'm with you.
- 7:25Speaker 3: This movie is high up on my list. It is
- 7:28Speaker 3: not number one. I know what your number one was,
- 7:31Speaker 3: so but we might talk about it again. But man,
- 7:35Speaker 3: so so good and so wonderful. Do you want to
- 7:38Speaker 3: do this snaketough? Do you want to give two?
- 7:39Speaker 2: Now? Sure it works out well because my number two
- 7:43Speaker 2: is Deadpool and Wolverine.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Oh my god, I'd look at you.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Yes, and I was. I was debating it one because
- 7:51Speaker 2: it was so much fun. I only saw it the
- 7:55Speaker 2: one time in the theater. I do wish I would
- 7:56Speaker 2: have gone back because I even had to do a
- 7:59Speaker 2: little potty break, so there's even a little bit that
- 8:03Speaker 2: I missed.
- 8:04Speaker 3: Longsh for sure. It was long ish the movie too,
- 8:07Speaker 3: So you know, we got that goal for us, which
- 8:09Speaker 3: is nice.
- 8:11Speaker 2: It's just nice. It was right at the part where well,
- 8:16Speaker 2: you know what. I don't want to for anybody who
- 8:18Speaker 2: hasn't seen it, but yeah, but it was, you know,
- 8:24Speaker 2: like we said, so I feel like we didn't talk
- 8:26Speaker 2: about Emma Coryn, who was such a great villain.
- 8:30Speaker 3: Liked her a lot in there. She was great finger
- 8:35Speaker 3: in the head headstuff, really cool when she was going
- 8:39Speaker 3: through Matthew mcfaden's head. He was also awesome in this movie,
- 8:46Speaker 3: which is so fun because I, you know, I pretty
- 8:49Speaker 3: much know him from Succession.
- 8:50Speaker 2: He's been in a lot of movies, but seeing him
- 8:55Speaker 2: get to like do his regular British accent. Really was fun.
- 9:00Speaker 2: And yeah, I mean we already kind of talked about it,
- 9:03Speaker 2: but that was a super fun movie.
- 9:05Speaker 3: Love that, Love That nice my number two, not Dune
- 9:10Speaker 3: Part two, although it was sang it very close. But
- 9:15Speaker 3: I went for the movie that kind of took the
- 9:18Speaker 3: place by storm. In November, I went Wicked here, Wicked,
- 9:22Speaker 3: Wicked Smart. This movie's amazing. I know we both loved it,
- 9:30Speaker 3: but yeah, Wicked, just amazing. Cynthia Rivo is great. Ariana
- 9:34Speaker 3: ground Days really great. I wasn't sure how she would be.
- 9:39Speaker 3: I know she can sing her tail off, obviously, but
- 9:41Speaker 3: she was wonderful in this movie. Yeah, she caught me
- 9:45Speaker 3: by surprise. Jeff Goldbloom, Michelle Yo, I mean like that
- 9:49Speaker 3: Jonathan Bailey guy, I thought was really fun. I didn't
- 9:52Speaker 3: really I think so. Yeah. Yeah, the Fierrero dude, I
- 9:57Speaker 3: thought he did a great job. Peter dan Klage was in.
- 10:00Speaker 3: I mean, this is just Bo and Yang, who I
- 10:03Speaker 3: think we've talked about every time we brought it up,
- 10:05Speaker 3: was so fun in this just thought it was like
- 10:08Speaker 3: a real love letter to musicals. I thought it adapted
- 10:13Speaker 3: to the screen super super well, maybe partly because I
- 10:16Speaker 3: never saw the show, so I don't have anything to
- 10:19Speaker 3: compare it to, but I think it would have just
- 10:21Speaker 3: been great either way on its own.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Yeah, it's incredible.
- 10:24Speaker 3: They had wonderful spins on, you know, like their own
- 10:28Speaker 3: takes on the songs while still making them what they
- 10:31Speaker 3: were and what made I don't I just loved it.
- 10:33Speaker 3: I thought it was great. I was crying the whole time.
- 10:35Speaker 3: I was jazzed up. And you know, if people are
- 10:38Speaker 3: having like singalongs and stuff, like people are having fun
- 10:41Speaker 3: with this movie, I think that's cool. I like it
- 10:44Speaker 3: for sure. Yeah, so yeah, I picked Wicked number.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Two, Wicked, Wicked, what was your number three?
- 10:50Speaker 3: Then? My number three was Dune Part two? So okay,
- 10:53Speaker 3: yeah there it was up there for sure, and probably
- 10:56Speaker 3: honestly part of it is it was it feels like
- 10:58Speaker 3: so long ago when we did watch that. You know,
- 11:01Speaker 3: at this point, I loved these books, thought they were
- 11:05Speaker 3: really interesting. I think June Part two is really fun.
- 11:10Speaker 3: I think it'd be fun to watch both of them
- 11:12Speaker 3: in close proximity, because they really are one story.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Obviously did you not watch did you not rewatch the
- 11:18Speaker 2: first one?
- 11:20Speaker 3: But like it'd be fun to watch them like two
- 11:23Speaker 3: days in a row or somethingthing. Mine were like a
- 11:25Speaker 3: week apart, but just to kind of see what was
- 11:27Speaker 3: going on, you know. Yeah, but yeah, I just love
- 11:30Speaker 3: what they I mean, the scale of that movie, I
- 11:34Speaker 3: think is the craziest part to me, just like they
- 11:37Speaker 3: made both the like one on one shots really intimate
- 11:40Speaker 3: and interesting and also like it felt like a planet
- 11:43Speaker 3: was being invaded, you know what I mean, Like it's
- 11:45Speaker 3: just it's nuts. What what they accomplished with that film
- 11:49Speaker 3: is absolutely insane to me. And the music and the
- 11:54Speaker 3: costumes and just to me, that epic storytelling film. There's
- 12:01Speaker 3: not a lot of like better examples. There's other great ones,
- 12:04Speaker 3: but I mean that's got to be up there for
- 12:07Speaker 3: almost as good as we can do, right as far
- 12:09Speaker 3: as overall experience, is absolutely fantastic. So yeah, yeah, so
- 12:13Speaker 3: I picked that for three. So we're onto your third, right,
- 12:16Speaker 3: my third.
- 12:17Speaker 2: It's hilarious because our top three are the same movies,
- 12:21Speaker 2: just different orders.
- 12:22Speaker 3: Cute, and I was having a real hard time deciding
- 12:25Speaker 3: on the order. I finally was just like, ah, we're
- 12:27Speaker 3: gonna go with you know, like that's really funny. Nice.
- 12:30Speaker 2: So yeah, my number three is wicked. So for all
- 12:33Speaker 2: the things you said, John Chu directed it, and thought
- 12:38Speaker 2: he did so many cool things, the set design, the costumes.
- 12:43Speaker 2: It's this beautiful world they created.
- 12:46Speaker 3: Yeah, really cool.
- 12:47Speaker 2: You mentioned all the performances that were incredible. I particularly
- 12:50Speaker 2: loved Cynthia Rivo's how she sang each song, yeah, and
- 12:57Speaker 2: how she was, you know, kind of timid in the beginning,
- 13:00Speaker 2: and then by you know, defying gravity. She's like riffing
- 13:05Speaker 2: and just she's just has one of the most powerful
- 13:10Speaker 2: instruments out there.
- 13:11Speaker 3: She's incredible. And also have you seen the like behind
- 13:14Speaker 3: the scenes of her like whipping around on that broom
- 13:17Speaker 3: and everything, like, yeah.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Sing through that and.
- 13:22Speaker 3: They did all the music the right way, like they
- 13:24Speaker 3: actually sang it, and it's yeah, sorry, please go on.
- 13:28Speaker 2: It's just it's been so fun to see everybody just
- 13:32Speaker 2: kind of fall in love with Cynthia.
- 13:35Speaker 3: Yes, I still remember you were like, oh my god.
- 13:40Speaker 2: I couldn't believe it. I was just like, who is
- 13:43Speaker 2: this person? And I've just been a massive fan ever since.
- 13:46Speaker 2: And now I feel like everybody's caught up and I'm
- 13:48Speaker 2: not in on it anymore. But she's she's just so
- 13:55Speaker 2: so talented and like you said, are you on a
- 13:57Speaker 2: ground age? She just killed it, and she's just been
- 14:02Speaker 2: everywhere and she's so funny and yeah, so Wicked.
- 14:05Speaker 3: Wicked was incredible, amazing.
- 14:08Speaker 2: Let's see if we differ here at number four. I
- 14:14Speaker 2: will just preface saying I feel like I feel like
- 14:17Speaker 2: I'm usually kind of like the Oscar guy, like I'm
- 14:21Speaker 2: going to be doing the movies that are this is
- 14:24Speaker 2: how I feel.
- 14:25Speaker 3: This is so funny.
- 14:26Speaker 2: Yeah, so this year I'm really more just kind of
- 14:30Speaker 2: like the blockbuster popcorn, you know, theater movie list. I
- 14:37Speaker 2: just have not seen many of the probably award type
- 14:42Speaker 2: movies that are going to be coming out. So with
- 14:46Speaker 2: that said, my number four movie is The Fall Guy
- 14:50Speaker 2: because we match up for the first time. I love it.
- 14:54Speaker 2: Boom Boom town The Fall Guy. It was directed by
- 14:58Speaker 2: David Leitch. It had as Emily Blunt and Ryan Gosling,
- 15:03Speaker 2: Aaron Taylor Johnson, Hannah Wattingham, who we loved from Ted
- 15:07Speaker 2: Lasso things, but this was so much fun. Apparently it
- 15:11Speaker 2: was like a I think it was a TV show
- 15:13Speaker 2: back in the day, which I was not aware of
- 15:17Speaker 2: until we did an episode on it. Didn't we Yes, Yes,
- 15:22Speaker 2: I think so, I think we did, or we were
- 15:24Speaker 2: going to.
- 15:24Speaker 3: I don't know, I think we did.
- 15:26Speaker 2: But I thought this movie was so fun and the
- 15:30Speaker 2: chemistry between Emily Blunt and Ryan Gosling is just it's
- 15:34Speaker 2: so much fun.
- 15:35Speaker 3: Palpable. I love it.
- 15:36Speaker 2: It's palpable. Kelsey and I went and saw it when
- 15:40Speaker 2: we were down in Florida and it was kind of
- 15:43Speaker 2: a rainy morning. We were like, why don't we go
- 15:45Speaker 2: and check out this movie. Loved it so much, made
- 15:48Speaker 2: the day so much better. Yeah, just great, A great
- 15:52Speaker 2: theater experience, a really fun movie. It's streaming now. It's
- 15:55Speaker 2: been out for a while.
- 15:56Speaker 3: I've been thinking rewatch. Actually maybe that is for sure
- 15:59Speaker 3: one rewatch. Yeah, yeah, I agreed.
- 16:02Speaker 2: So those are my thoughts. What did you think?
- 16:04Speaker 3: A lot of the same stuff. I just thought, like,
- 16:05Speaker 3: the chemistry was great. I love all these actors. They're
- 16:08Speaker 3: so fun. This was just like a fun story that
- 16:12Speaker 3: was intriguing but also like I don't want to say
- 16:16Speaker 3: it was like surface Levelly or you know, in a
- 16:18Speaker 3: bad way. But it was just a fun movie that
- 16:21Speaker 3: was interesting, lots of cool stunts in it. I always
- 16:25Speaker 3: love a movie that like you can tell us a
- 16:28Speaker 3: love letter to certain things, and like, obviously this is
- 16:31Speaker 3: a bit of a love letter to stunt people in general. Absolutely,
- 16:35Speaker 3: and just like kind of getting to see is weird
- 16:38Speaker 3: because it's in the movie, but also behind the scenes
- 16:40Speaker 3: of you know, of like how they do these stunts
- 16:44Speaker 3: and how this all works and stuff like that is
- 16:46Speaker 3: just interesting. I like that and seeing it through that
- 16:49Speaker 3: different prism is really fun. And I just think I've
- 16:52Speaker 3: just had a blast. I thought it was super funny,
- 16:54Speaker 3: Like Gosling is just he's just so funny, great and
- 16:58Speaker 3: she's so funny too. They're both great, but like they're
- 17:01Speaker 3: just wonderful. And yeah, I just I had a great
- 17:05Speaker 3: time with all of it. I just loved it to pieces.
- 17:07Speaker 3: So I'm I'm super excited to watch it again. Now
- 17:10Speaker 3: that we're talking about the same I was like to say,
- 17:13Speaker 3: I did love that movie. It's funny, how ranking I'm
- 17:16Speaker 3: sometimes it's like, oh no, I guess I loved that, Like,
- 17:20Speaker 3: you know, this was high on my list, so totally, yeah.
- 17:23Speaker 3: I don't I don't know that I have anything else
- 17:25Speaker 3: like special to say about it. I just thought was
- 17:27Speaker 3: a great time. And I don't know how it is
- 17:30Speaker 3: for like language and stuff, But if you like a
- 17:34Speaker 3: date night movie where you just want to watch something
- 17:36Speaker 3: like funny and and cute and have a good time
- 17:39Speaker 3: with some action in there. I think it's great for that.
- 17:41Speaker 3: It's like perfect.
- 17:42Speaker 2: Agreed, Yeah, I love it. Why don't you hit us
- 17:45Speaker 2: up with your number five? Then number five was.
- 17:48Speaker 3: A sequel film, which is interesting. It must not be yours?
- 17:54Speaker 3: I went, I went animated, here, I went inside.
- 17:57Speaker 2: Oh here, of course, of course, you know what did
- 18:02Speaker 2: you forget about that make my top ten?
- 18:04Speaker 1: Oh?
- 18:04Speaker 2: Okay, it wasn't even so much, said I forgot. I
- 18:06Speaker 2: thought it was incredible, But I thought there were a
- 18:07Speaker 2: lot of fun movies.
- 18:08Speaker 3: I get it. I feel like I will also have
- 18:11Speaker 3: some of those where I'm like, I liked that, but
- 18:13Speaker 3: just didn't this one. I don't know. Inside out, I
- 18:16Speaker 3: really like it. I think it's I think maybe because
- 18:19Speaker 3: like it is both really fun and silly and a
- 18:23Speaker 3: good time and also great for kids to see that
- 18:26Speaker 3: everyone else feels that way, you know, like and yes,
- 18:29Speaker 3: I just think it's a really interesting plot for a
- 18:32Speaker 3: movie for folks that don't know. There's like these these people,
- 18:36Speaker 3: these little mini cartoon characters inside of this young girl's head,
- 18:40Speaker 3: and they are her specific emotions and they talk about
- 18:43Speaker 3: like who gets to drive today, you know, and all
- 18:46Speaker 3: these things, right, and the first one is a masterpiece.
- 18:49Speaker 3: I don't know that this one was quite as good,
- 18:51Speaker 3: but it was super interesting. It's still great and really
- 18:54Speaker 3: fun to see as she gets older, things get more
- 18:57Speaker 3: complex and like different things come around, and just great
- 19:01Speaker 3: voice acting and stuff like that. And you know, I'm
- 19:04Speaker 3: a sucker for coming of age films anyway, And yep,
- 19:07Speaker 3: their Pixar they're sappy, so like I'm right at home
- 19:10Speaker 3: with that. But and the little gal is from Minnesota
- 19:14Speaker 3: in the story, so we love her. But yeah, I
- 19:18Speaker 3: really really liked this movie a ton. I thought it
- 19:20Speaker 3: was really great and it was that's why it's at
- 19:23Speaker 3: where it's at.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Maybe, Yeah, that could have definitely been in my top
- 19:26Speaker 2: ten for sure. It was. I went and brought the
- 19:29Speaker 2: kids to that, and they got a little freaked out.
- 19:33Speaker 2: Charlie especially got a little freaks out. Yeah, there's one
- 19:37Speaker 2: from the trailers, you know that anxiety becomes one of
- 19:40Speaker 2: the emotions that this little girl starts feeling, and that's
- 19:44Speaker 2: voiced by Maya Hawk, who did a great job. But like,
- 19:49Speaker 2: there's some scenes that got pretty intense, and I thought
- 19:53Speaker 2: it was kind of brilliant how they played.
- 19:55Speaker 3: That out yeah and loved it.
- 19:58Speaker 2: Yeah, so I totally get it.
- 19:59Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, And I will say like the and this
- 20:02Speaker 3: isn't because they're like great. But I felt really strongly
- 20:05Speaker 3: about my top four and then I was kind of like, man,
- 20:07Speaker 3: these can really be mixed around more after that.
- 20:10Speaker 2: So totally yep. For sure, yep, but yeah, I'm intriguing.
- 20:14Speaker 3: You didn't even have it in your top ten, so.
- 20:16Speaker 2: I didn't have it in my top ten.
- 20:17Speaker 3: But I mean it's definitely my honorable mention.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Uh. My number five was a movie that I kind
- 20:23Speaker 2: of just like on a whim, decided to go to
- 20:26Speaker 2: the theater. Had seen a couple of things where I
- 20:29Speaker 2: was like, I'll try it, and I loved it. It
- 20:33Speaker 2: was the Guy Ritchie film The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare.
- 20:37Speaker 3: See and this that's funny because this this one didn't
- 20:40Speaker 3: make it made my honorable mentions as well. But I
- 20:42Speaker 3: really liked this movie. I thought long and hard about
- 20:45Speaker 3: putting it in there. For sure.
- 20:47Speaker 2: Yeah, it just kind of it was under the radar
- 20:49Speaker 2: for me, and so many of the times when I
- 20:51Speaker 2: don't really have any expectations. If it's good, it's gonna
- 20:55Speaker 2: I'm going to really enjoy it, agreed, And so yeah,
- 20:58Speaker 2: this was guy Richie. It starred Henry Cavell Alan Richson,
- 21:03Speaker 2: who we loved from the Reacher series. And I actually
- 21:06Speaker 2: just saw today that there was a trailer for the
- 21:10Speaker 2: third season of that, which I'm excited.
- 21:14Speaker 3: If there's an even bigger son.
- 21:15Speaker 2: Of a bitch there, Yeah, which is crazy. He's so big.
- 21:22Speaker 2: And then there was iz A Gonzalez, who was pretty
- 21:27Speaker 2: wonderful in that movie. Agreed, But this was like a
- 21:31Speaker 2: real thing that happened in history. I thought this was
- 21:37Speaker 2: just kind of a fun like maybe like historical fiction,
- 21:40Speaker 2: but this was really a mission that happened during World
- 21:44Speaker 2: War Two and like will or something.
- 21:47Speaker 3: Where it's like right took liberties apparently.
- 21:49Speaker 2: Not well, but it wasn't completely made and it was
- 21:58Speaker 2: wonderful and it was it was funny, and there was
- 22:01Speaker 2: a lot of action, and there was suspense and it
- 22:04Speaker 2: had kind of had all the things. Yeah, I was
- 22:08Speaker 2: really surprised by it, and I loved it. I'm like
- 22:11Speaker 2: a big guy Ritchie fan. He's wonderful and he's been
- 22:14Speaker 2: doing so many different things, like yeah, you know, all
- 22:18Speaker 2: over the place.
- 22:18Speaker 3: That's really fun because it gets kind of like heisty
- 22:20Speaker 3: too in moments. Absolutely, yeah, yeah, I will say I
- 22:26Speaker 3: almost put it in my top ten for I was like,
- 22:29Speaker 3: which of these movies would I want to see again?
- 22:32Speaker 3: And if that's what it was, this definitely would have
- 22:34Speaker 3: been in there, right, Like, yeah, yeah, yeah, I love
- 22:38Speaker 3: that pic. I'm glad you got to bring that up.
- 22:40Speaker 3: That's fun.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Yeah, that's fun. My number six. I'm not sure if
- 22:45Speaker 2: you've seen this. Oh we're still snaking.
- 22:48Speaker 3: Right, yeah, yeah, I just I got lost.
- 22:52Speaker 2: I'm not sure if you've seen this movie. I think
- 22:54Speaker 2: I brought it up, but it's called Thelma. Have you
- 22:58Speaker 2: seen Thelma?
- 22:58Speaker 3: I haven't. I still to watch that. Okay, you do need.
- 23:02Speaker 2: To watch it. You're gonna love it. So Thelma. It
- 23:06Speaker 2: was written and directed by a person named Josh Margolan
- 23:10Speaker 2: and it starred June Squibb, who is Thelma. She is
- 23:14Speaker 2: definitely the main character. It had Fred Heckinger, who I
- 23:19Speaker 2: was not familiar with but had just seen him in
- 23:21Speaker 2: Gladiator two as one of the emperors.
- 23:24Speaker 3: That's right, yeah, okay, And it was the weirdest.
- 23:27Speaker 2: It was like, I think I saw those movies very
- 23:29Speaker 2: close to each other, so seeing him as this like
- 23:32Speaker 2: very different Barley, I would guess very different. He's like
- 23:36Speaker 2: this sweet, you know grandson in this movie.
- 23:40Speaker 3: While he's like this syphilitic psycho exactly.
- 23:45Speaker 2: Yes, so he had some serious range in twenty twenty four,
- 23:51Speaker 2: but it was so much fun. Then you get to
- 23:52Speaker 2: see Richard Rowntree, who if people don't know that name,
- 23:55Speaker 2: he was Shaft, but he is much older now. Parker
- 24:01Speaker 2: Posey's in it. It's it's a really wonderful movie. And
- 24:06Speaker 2: the main thing is that it's this older female, Thelma.
- 24:12Speaker 2: She's ninety three years old. She gets scammed by somebody
- 24:18Speaker 2: on the phone. Oh sure, and she wants to get
- 24:22Speaker 2: her money back. That is what it is, like a story,
- 24:28Speaker 2: it's kind of yeah. So I don't want to give
- 24:31Speaker 2: too much of away because it was wonderful. It really
- 24:33Speaker 2: was wonderful. It's you leave feeling. Yeah, it's it's a
- 24:39Speaker 2: really fun movie. I don't want to give anything away.
- 24:42Speaker 2: But look it up. It's Thelma. I'm not sure if
- 24:43Speaker 2: it's streaming yet. I saw it on a plane.
- 24:46Speaker 3: I think it is, but I don't know where.
- 24:49Speaker 2: I'll look it up while you while you look up yours. Yeah, yeah,
- 24:53Speaker 2: what was your number six film?
- 24:55Speaker 3: My number six was also. I mean, honestly, it's kind
- 24:59Speaker 3: of funny. This is also one that kind of flew
- 25:01Speaker 3: under the radar for me, and I just watched it
- 25:05Speaker 3: by chance, I think, on Amazon Prime. But don't hold
- 25:09Speaker 3: me to that. But okay, I watched the movie called
- 25:12Speaker 3: fly Me to the Moon rub which I think you've seen. No,
- 25:16Speaker 3: I think that's an Apple movie. Apple, That's what it was. Sorry, Yes,
- 25:19Speaker 3: that's an Apple movie. Yes.
- 25:21Speaker 2: And while we're talking about streaming, it does look like
- 25:24Speaker 2: Thelma is on Hulu Hulu.
- 25:25Speaker 3: Okay, great, yeah, wonderful, But yeah, fly Me to the
- 25:29Speaker 3: Moon a really interesting movie. It is I still don't
- 25:35Speaker 3: really know like what we're taking or whatever, but it's
- 25:40Speaker 3: it's at least based around the actual time when we
- 25:43Speaker 3: were launching the Space Shuttle to the Moon, and it's
- 25:46Speaker 3: all about a NASA person who's trying to help make
- 25:50Speaker 3: this happen. And then that's Channing Tatum, and then Scarlett
- 25:55Speaker 3: Johansson gets brought in as sort of a pr person
- 25:58Speaker 3: to try and get people excited about this. And then
- 26:01Speaker 3: also this other plot thing comes out where they're trying
- 26:05Speaker 3: to in case this doesn't work, we need to show
- 26:08Speaker 3: that it did work, and film something similar to it.
- 26:11Speaker 3: So it's it's a really fun juxtaposition of both like
- 26:15Speaker 3: this real thing that happened and then you know, or
- 26:18Speaker 3: in my opinion, I don't know what we do. Who
- 26:20Speaker 3: knows what's true anymore, but and then also this other
- 26:25Speaker 3: thing that was happening at the same time. Woody Harrelson's
- 26:27Speaker 3: in it, and he's wonderful in this, and it's just
- 26:31Speaker 3: it's a really fun juxtavision of like NASA hard science people,
- 26:35Speaker 3: like nerdy engineers, and then like showbiz people come in
- 26:39Speaker 3: and you know, things like that. I loved this movie
- 26:42Speaker 3: a ton. I thought it had a lot of like
- 26:44Speaker 3: heart to it. The chemistry between those two was really fun.
- 26:47Speaker 3: I thought, yeah it was. And they're both just so
- 26:50Speaker 3: lovable anyway, like Channing Tatum's great, Carlo Johansson's wonderful, you know.
- 26:55Speaker 3: So I had a great time in that movie that
- 26:58Speaker 3: Jim rash was so fat, so so so good good call,
- 27:02Speaker 3: good call, Yeah, because he's so great, and like Ray
- 27:05Speaker 3: Ramono's in it and he's being super like curmudgeonly and fun.
- 27:10Speaker 3: Anna Garcia, who I'd never seen before, is in it,
- 27:13Speaker 3: and she's really great as like Scarlett's best friend kind
- 27:16Speaker 3: of assistant person or whatever.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Sure.
- 27:19Speaker 3: I just thought she was really funny and they had
- 27:21Speaker 3: lots of great jokes. So it's a you know, it's
- 27:23Speaker 3: a period piece, you know, back in the in the
- 27:26Speaker 3: sixties and all that stuff. It's really fun. I liked
- 27:28Speaker 3: it a lot. I think it's worth checking out. And yeah,
- 27:32Speaker 3: so made number six on my list. Nice, Yeah that
- 27:35Speaker 3: was fun, did you It's not on your list, it's
- 27:38Speaker 3: not on my top ten. It's definitely honorable mention, though.
- 27:41Speaker 2: I I did enjoy allow movie, right, yeah, yeah, which is.
- 27:44Speaker 3: Interesting because both of our six then were movies each
- 27:49Speaker 3: of us saw and then told the other about. So
- 27:51Speaker 3: maybe the expectation is what kept it from like popping
- 27:54Speaker 3: up there or something. But yeah, sure, really fun movies.
- 27:57Speaker 3: So that's cool. What was your number seven? Then number seven?
- 28:00Speaker 3: And you'll have to tell me if this counts or not,
- 28:03Speaker 3: because it's a Netflix I would I think it's a film,
- 28:07Speaker 3: so I think it would count. This is one you
- 28:08Speaker 3: told me to see. Actually, Will and Harper number seven,
- 28:13Speaker 3: so you did it too. Great. Okay, this movie you've
- 28:17Speaker 3: you've probably heard us talk about. If you've heard us,
- 28:20Speaker 3: if you listen to any of the past episodes or anything.
- 28:22Speaker 3: But this is a story of Harper Steele and Will Ferrell.
- 28:27Speaker 3: Harper has transitioned into a woman, and they used to
- 28:31Speaker 3: work together on SNL. Harper was a writer. I think,
- 28:34Speaker 3: I think maybe I was going to say writer, but
- 28:38Speaker 3: I wasn't sure. And obviously Will was heavily featured on SNL.
- 28:43Speaker 3: And it's just a story of them kind of going
- 28:46Speaker 3: cross country and navigating their friendship through this, you know,
- 28:49Speaker 3: through this transition in both their lives as they're getting older,
- 28:53Speaker 3: as well as finding, you know, new identities and or
- 28:56Speaker 3: revealing old identities that have been there for a long time,
- 28:59Speaker 3: just man vested in a different way. And I like
- 29:02Speaker 3: this movie was beautiful. It was really raw. It was lovely,
- 29:06Speaker 3: super funny and silly at points and also just like
- 29:09Speaker 3: gorgeous and felt really I don't know, just true, not
- 29:13Speaker 3: like put on, you know, and really thoughtful. So I
- 29:17Speaker 3: loved it. I thought it was wonderful.
- 29:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I had all those those same feelings as it's
- 29:23Speaker 2: my number seven as well. I love it. Yeah, And
- 29:27Speaker 2: I already went in knowing that I love Will Ferrell,
- 29:31Speaker 2: but now I love him even more. Agree he was yeah,
- 29:38Speaker 2: pretty vulnerable, vulnerable in some spots and just really trying
- 29:43Speaker 2: to help out his friend and and just trying to
- 29:48Speaker 2: understand his friend going through this big change. So I
- 29:54Speaker 2: thought it was really really well done. It looks like
- 29:57Speaker 2: it was directed by Josh Greenbaum, and thought he did
- 30:01Speaker 2: really a great job. And yeah, it hit me even harder.
- 30:07Speaker 2: I was very sick when I watched it. I forgot
- 30:09Speaker 2: it was a little emotional. Yeah, it was the first
- 30:12Speaker 2: thing I watched during my little COVID strip throat time,
- 30:17Speaker 2: and I was sobbing in a few spots. But yeah, no,
- 30:28Speaker 2: I highly recommend, And yeah, that was a straight to
- 30:31Speaker 2: Netflix and go check it out.
- 30:33Speaker 3: And I feel like it's gonna be great for people
- 30:35Speaker 3: that have friends going through similar transitions, because like it's
- 30:39Speaker 3: they talk about a lot of stuff like I don't,
- 30:42Speaker 3: and a lot of it is just like just talk
- 30:43Speaker 3: about it. It's fine, we'll figure it out, you know,
- 30:46Speaker 3: like whatever. Yeah, I thought it was awesome.
- 30:49Speaker 2: I love that, agreed. I went to another straight to
- 30:54Speaker 2: streaming movie for my number eight, a film called hit Man.
- 31:01Speaker 3: Oh yeah, I like this movie. This was on my
- 31:03Speaker 3: honorable mention.
- 31:04Speaker 2: Nice hit Man written and directed by Richard link Later,
- 31:09Speaker 2: which I didn't know at the time either. Glenn Powell
- 31:14Speaker 2: also helped write it. It sounds like, uh, the lovely
- 31:18Speaker 2: Adria Rhona is in it, and she was wonderful in this.
- 31:25Speaker 2: Glenn Powell gets to just really show off in this movie.
- 31:30Speaker 2: You could tell he was a writer of it. Be like, what,
- 31:33Speaker 2: I'm gonna make myself look.
- 31:35Speaker 3: Awesome in this movie?
- 31:36Speaker 2: All the great things he gets to be, all these
- 31:40Speaker 2: different characters. The thing is, he's a he's a hit man,
- 31:45Speaker 2: and he gets to play all these different.
- 31:49Speaker 3: Roles as being a hit man.
- 31:53Speaker 2: And he was so good. I knew I liked him
- 31:58Speaker 2: as the kind of like, you know, cocky.
- 32:02Speaker 3: Brash, like exactly like I knew he.
- 32:05Speaker 2: Had that down from like Maverick and everything else I've
- 32:10Speaker 2: seen him in really, but he got to really show
- 32:13Speaker 2: off some range in this and it was It was fun.
- 32:16Speaker 2: It had some kind of twists and turns throughout this movie. Yeah,
- 32:22Speaker 2: it kind of. This was another one that caught me
- 32:25Speaker 2: by surprise and I really enjoyed it.
- 32:27Speaker 3: Love that nice, very cool.
- 32:32Speaker 2: What was your number eight?
- 32:33Speaker 3: Number eight? That's right, that's where we're at. I went
- 32:37Speaker 3: with one. Now, this is sort of an oscary type movie,
- 32:41Speaker 3: Okay that I enjoyed. It's not like my favorite movie
- 32:44Speaker 3: of all time by any means, but I really liked it.
- 32:47Speaker 3: And this is a movie called Anora. Yes, really funny,
- 32:53Speaker 3: really funny movie, which is interesting to think about because
- 32:56Speaker 3: it's not like a super funny premise. But so basically
- 33:01Speaker 3: it's a story of Onora, who is a young escort
- 33:04Speaker 3: from Brooklyn and she meets and then marries a son
- 33:07Speaker 3: of a Russian oligarch and chaos ensues from there. So
- 33:12Speaker 3: like there's some some serious stuff going on. Uh. The
- 33:16Speaker 3: lead actress Mikey Mikey mad amazing. She's really really good
- 33:23Speaker 3: in this, agreed, and she gets to do a bunch
- 33:26Speaker 3: a bunch of stuff in it. Like, she's really funny
- 33:28Speaker 3: at arts, although mostly as like the straight person I
- 33:33Speaker 3: guess or something. But it's realized my hand had been raised.
- 33:37Speaker 3: I didn't mean to raise it up. I'm sorry. But
- 33:41Speaker 3: and then she's you know, dealing with some real things
- 33:44Speaker 3: about you know, sort of being in that sex worker
- 33:47Speaker 3: slash sex worker Jason Field and dealing with just things
- 33:51Speaker 3: that are happening. I really like this movie. It was
- 33:54Speaker 3: it was a touch maybe too long for me, but
- 33:56Speaker 3: it was really well done and it's getting a lot
- 33:59Speaker 3: of buzz oscar wise, for sure. Yeah, it's really great.
- 34:03Speaker 3: I encourage people to see it if you are squeamish
- 34:06Speaker 3: about like violence and stuff, though this might not be
- 34:10Speaker 3: for you, or sex stuff or sex stuff, for sure,
- 34:12Speaker 3: you're right, maybe more importantly sex stuff like this probably
- 34:16Speaker 3: isn't it for you, But if you're intrigued, it was
- 34:19Speaker 3: a good time and I laughed. It's one of the
- 34:22Speaker 3: harder times. I laughed in the theater various points of
- 34:25Speaker 3: this movie, which is weird. But man, we're I don't
- 34:28Speaker 3: know if it was just the perfect night or what
- 34:30Speaker 3: was happening, but we're in a grand old time and
- 34:33Speaker 3: we had a really fun theater experience, so it sticks
- 34:36Speaker 3: with nice.
- 34:36Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, mine was not. I I went kind of
- 34:40Speaker 2: in the middle of the day and it was just
- 34:41Speaker 2: like some old people around me.
- 34:44Speaker 3: Weird.
- 34:45Speaker 2: It was more uncomfortable than anything. But I agreed that
- 34:50Speaker 2: that movie was really well done. I think we're going
- 34:54Speaker 2: to see maybe that director up for sure. For I
- 34:59Speaker 2: would think play. Yeah, really some amazing stuff. And Mikey Madison,
- 35:05Speaker 2: I mean, I would be shocked if she isn't nominated
- 35:08Speaker 2: for an award.
- 35:08Speaker 3: She was in credible. Absolutely agree with all that. I mean, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 35:13Speaker 3: I'm with you so nice. So is it to you
- 35:16Speaker 3: for your ninth.
- 35:17Speaker 2: Then no, I think it's your night my ninth got
- 35:20Speaker 2: I'm good at this.
- 35:21Speaker 3: I went. This is a straight to streaming movie. As
- 35:24Speaker 3: far as I know, this one was on Prime Video
- 35:28Speaker 3: and I don't think it's on anyone's list because I
- 35:31Speaker 3: don't know if anyone else watched it. Maybe you did, Okay,
- 35:34Speaker 3: I watched the movie Snackshack. Did you ever see Snackshack?
- 35:38Speaker 2: I haven't, but honestly, I have seen it on people's
- 35:41Speaker 2: lists as one of the funniest movies of the Year's.
- 35:44Speaker 3: Really really a great time this is. It's a period
- 35:47Speaker 3: piece of They're in Nebraska City in nineteen ninety one.
- 35:52Speaker 3: These two best friends who are like at the end
- 35:55Speaker 3: of high school or just out of high school ish,
- 35:57Speaker 3: I think they're still in high school. But they get
- 36:00Speaker 3: a chance to run the swimming pool snackshack that's in
- 36:03Speaker 3: their town. And it's these two brash young kids that
- 36:06Speaker 3: are best friends, wheeling and dealing. They start making some money.
- 36:10Speaker 3: It's it's really fun. It's super funny. It gets into
- 36:13Speaker 3: like some relationships stuff. Then and drama with that. And
- 36:17Speaker 3: I had a great time with this movie. I really
- 36:19Speaker 3: really liked it a lot.
- 36:20Speaker 2: Is there anybody in it that you recognized?
- 36:22Speaker 1: You know?
- 36:22Speaker 3: The one kid I found out later I had seen
- 36:26Speaker 3: him before, Gabriel LaBelle. Mmm, I'm pulling him up quick,
- 36:31Speaker 3: because there was oh he was Sammy in the Fableman's
- 36:33Speaker 3: So he was the teenage in the Fablemans. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 36:38Speaker 3: But honestly, was like the only one I had really
- 36:41Speaker 3: seen in anything other than Jilly. Gillian Vigman is in it,
- 36:47Speaker 3: who you'd recognize if you saw a picture of her.
- 36:50Speaker 3: But yeah, otherwise, it's a lot of like high school
- 36:52Speaker 3: kids and stuff. So and I think it was kind
- 36:55Speaker 3: of uh maybe not like, you know, like a low
- 37:00Speaker 3: budget film, but close, you know what I mean, like
- 37:02Speaker 3: someone's pet project kind of deal. But it's hysterical. It's
- 37:05Speaker 3: really really funny, and there's if you like a coming
- 37:08Speaker 3: of age like teen comedy sort of thing that has
- 37:12Speaker 3: some heart to it. I think you'll really enjoy it.
- 37:14Speaker 3: I liked it a lot, had a good time. Cool. Yeah,
- 37:16Speaker 3: nice caught me by surprise. So now we're to your
- 37:19Speaker 3: number nine.
- 37:20Speaker 2: Mine number nine. Mine was also straight to Prime. Oh
- 37:25Speaker 2: and this was a movie called My Old Ass.
- 37:29Speaker 3: Oh yeah, this made my honorable mention. I liked this
- 37:31Speaker 3: movie too. I'm with you.
- 37:33Speaker 2: I Kelsey and I watched this and for whatever reason,
- 37:36Speaker 2: you know, we had just put on Prime and it
- 37:39Speaker 2: was like the day that it came out. And I
- 37:44Speaker 2: love Aubrey Plaza so much. And I don't know if
- 37:47Speaker 2: you've heard, but.
- 37:48Speaker 3: She's going through some stuff right now, yucky.
- 37:50Speaker 2: Her husband is no longer with us yep. And so yeah,
- 37:57Speaker 2: that's a big bummer. But this movie was pretty great.
- 38:01Speaker 2: I was kind of expecting to have she was going
- 38:04Speaker 2: to have like a bigger role in this movie. I
- 38:07Speaker 2: thought she would be the lead, and she definitely is not.
- 38:10Speaker 2: It is this younger actress named Mazie Stella is the lead,
- 38:15Speaker 2: and she was wonderful.
- 38:17Speaker 3: Loved her yep.
- 38:19Speaker 2: But again, kind of a coming of age story, but
- 38:24Speaker 2: they added a little bit of like supernatural being able
- 38:28Speaker 2: to talk to her future self, which I thought was
- 38:32Speaker 2: really entertaining. I thought it was really well done. Yes,
- 38:38Speaker 2: and yeah, I just it made me feel a lot
- 38:43Speaker 2: of feelings. Again, was not expecting anything from this movie
- 38:49Speaker 2: and then loved it. You know, really beautiful scenery, it
- 38:53Speaker 2: was shot like an hour outside of Toronto, but like
- 38:57Speaker 2: on this beautiful lake that made me want to go there,
- 39:02Speaker 2: go to there, And yeah, I really really loved that movie.
- 39:06Speaker 3: Yeah, nice, I liked it a lot too. That's cool.
- 39:08Speaker 3: I'm glad it's on your list. That's great.
- 39:11Speaker 2: And then my number ten, I probably could have. I
- 39:15Speaker 2: could have had either a Nora here, but I decided
- 39:20Speaker 2: to go with A Complete Unknown. Fun Okay, it's one
- 39:26Speaker 2: of the new oscary movies that I have actually seen.
- 39:32Speaker 2: Shall So Shallow May my number one and my number ten?
- 39:36Speaker 2: What a lovely book. That was kind of why I
- 39:39Speaker 2: did it. But great year for Shallow May. That dude
- 39:43Speaker 2: is so incredibly talented. This was another. So Complete Unknown
- 39:51Speaker 2: is the biopick of Bob Dylan's we didn't say that, Ye,
- 39:54Speaker 2: we didn't say that. It was written and directed by
- 39:57Speaker 2: James Mangold, who can do a biopick Walk the Line.
- 40:01Speaker 2: One of the better ones out there. What I loved
- 40:05Speaker 2: about A Complete Unknown, aside from the performances that were
- 40:10Speaker 2: absolutely incredible, Timothy Shallomy, Edward Norton, l Fanning, Monica Barbero
- 40:16Speaker 2: plays Joan Bias. They the thing that I loved that
- 40:22Speaker 2: James Mangold did was that it didn't like try and
- 40:25Speaker 2: get all of Bob Dylan's life in this movie. He
- 40:29Speaker 2: pretty much was during like a two year period, and
- 40:34Speaker 2: so it didn't feel like it was five hours long.
- 40:38Speaker 2: Another thing that I loved that they did was a
- 40:43Speaker 2: lot like Wicked. They performed the whole thing, so everybody
- 40:46Speaker 2: is singing these things.
- 40:47Speaker 3: That just makes such of their live take. I don't
- 40:49Speaker 3: know if it makes a difference for other people, but
- 40:51Speaker 3: for like you and me, it really seems an other
- 40:55Speaker 3: musician people that I know, I feel like, yeah, it
- 40:58Speaker 3: makes a huge difference to us.
- 41:00Speaker 2: Nothing else, it for sure does. And what he was
- 41:03Speaker 2: able to do, like Bob Dylan is kind of a
- 41:06Speaker 2: cartoony kind of voice, and how he was able to
- 41:10Speaker 2: do it and not go over the top with it.
- 41:15Speaker 2: I'm just so incredibly impressed with how Timothy shell May
- 41:20Speaker 2: did that role.
- 41:21Speaker 3: That's cool. Yeah, I love it.
- 41:23Speaker 2: It's it's definitely worth checking out, for sure.
- 41:25Speaker 3: Love it nice.
- 41:28Speaker 2: My Last One.
- 41:29Speaker 3: My Last One is also a movie. I guess my
- 41:32Speaker 3: book end is It's a movie that is both like
- 41:36Speaker 3: doesn't take itself too seriously and does although it's more
- 41:39Speaker 3: on the serious side I went with the horror film
- 41:42Speaker 3: The Substance. Oh you did, I did see.
- 41:46Speaker 2: I didn't know if you liked this movie or not
- 41:48Speaker 2: when you told me, I really the third act loses me.
- 41:52Speaker 3: I'm gonna be honest. Yeah, but the first like two
- 41:56Speaker 3: thirds of this movie are wonderful and to me, More
- 42:00Speaker 3: is fantastic in it. Margaret Qualley is great in it
- 42:03Speaker 3: as well. Sort of the the like tagline for it
- 42:08Speaker 3: is Demi Moore is a fading like she's just getting
- 42:11Speaker 3: older as a celebrity and as we know, like the
- 42:14Speaker 3: way we treat women, you know, as the age is
- 42:17Speaker 3: not always great, especially in like you know, show business
- 42:20Speaker 3: and stuff. So she's like kind of losing her identity
- 42:25Speaker 3: in a way. She gets this weird it's such a
- 42:27Speaker 3: cool premise. She gets this weird offer to take this
- 42:32Speaker 3: thing that is the Substance, And what it does is
- 42:35Speaker 3: it allows a younger version of herself to exist, that
- 42:39Speaker 3: she is still the driver of the younger version of herself.
- 42:42Speaker 3: But they can only it's like every other week they
- 42:45Speaker 3: have to they one has to be driving every other
- 42:48Speaker 3: week kind of deal.
- 42:50Speaker 2: I did not know that's what it was.
- 42:51Speaker 3: That's really cool, and you learned that super early on,
- 42:54Speaker 3: but it goes crazy from there. This is super gory,
- 42:58Speaker 3: it's it's yucky, So if you don't like that, stay away.
- 43:03Speaker 3: I had a great time. Like I said, I thought
- 43:06Speaker 3: the first part was so well acted and had so
- 43:08Speaker 3: much to say. They did kind of lose me at
- 43:10Speaker 3: the end, but it still had its you know, it's
- 43:12Speaker 3: I get what they were going for and it had
- 43:14Speaker 3: its moments. But I think it's absolutely worth seeing, especially
- 43:18Speaker 3: if you're okay with like body horrory kind of things,
- 43:22Speaker 3: and it's really funny in points like that, very dark humor.
- 43:26Speaker 3: But I thought it was really impressively done. It's not
- 43:30Speaker 3: a movie I probably will watch again, but but I
- 43:34Speaker 3: I think the performances were so good, like how can
- 43:37Speaker 3: you not really you know?
- 43:38Speaker 2: So yeah, I saw Demi Moore just one, yeah, supporting actress.
- 43:43Speaker 3: I'm sure she'll get nominated for an Oscar too, for
- 43:45Speaker 3: a Golden Globe.
- 43:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:45Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know when of the Oscar noms must
- 43:48Speaker 3: come out soon ish, right, I.
- 43:51Speaker 2: Think so, you know, it's usually a March thing when
- 43:54Speaker 2: it actually happens, but yeah, I would think I would
- 43:57Speaker 2: think probably by the end of this month.
- 43:58Speaker 1: Time.
- 44:00Speaker 3: Yeah cool, So yeah, that's why I picked for my
- 44:02Speaker 3: number ten.
- 44:04Speaker 2: Very nice you want to do so, I'm excited to
- 44:06Speaker 2: see that. I would love to. Yeah, and Noor definitely
- 44:10Speaker 2: topped my honorable mentions for all you said. Fly Me
- 44:14Speaker 2: to the Moon. I also had that up there. Another
- 44:17Speaker 2: one that I really loved, although it's kind of a
- 44:21Speaker 2: slow burn if people aren't into that, I get it.
- 44:25Speaker 2: But I loved the movie Knox Goes Away.
- 44:28Speaker 3: Did you end up seeing that this was the Keaton one?
- 44:31Speaker 2: Yeah, Michael, No.
- 44:33Speaker 3: I haven't seen that yet. It's been on the list.
- 44:35Speaker 2: Yeah, it is really well done. He actually directed it,
- 44:39Speaker 2: so I had heard him on a podcast talking about
- 44:42Speaker 2: it and I was intrigued by it. And it's really
- 44:48Speaker 2: really good, nice and it was straight to max, I think,
- 44:52Speaker 2: so that is definitely worth checking out. Another one that
- 44:56Speaker 2: you had recommended that I ended up seeing a plane
- 45:00Speaker 2: and I loved it was Wicked Little Letters.
- 45:03Speaker 3: Oh yes, I love that movie, so fun, so good.
- 45:07Speaker 2: Loivia Coleman. Other folks that I'm blanking on right now,
- 45:14Speaker 2: that wonderful woman from Oh Gosh, why am I totally
- 45:18Speaker 2: blanking on her? Buckley Jesse Buckley, Jesse Buckley, Jesse Buckley.
- 45:27Speaker 2: She was in Fargo.
- 45:28Speaker 3: She's been in I mean Fargo, is what I was
- 45:30Speaker 3: going to say. Yeah, yeah, she was kind of like
- 45:31Speaker 3: nurse nurse Ratchet or whatever sort of ink like, she
- 45:36Speaker 3: was that kind of character anyway.
- 45:38Speaker 2: Right, So those are a few of mine. I still
- 45:41Speaker 2: have more, but what what we're kind of your top
- 45:43Speaker 2: honorable man.
- 45:44Speaker 3: A great movie featuring ssh Ronan The Outrun. Really deeply
- 45:51Speaker 3: loved that movie. That was just one I randomly streamed
- 45:55Speaker 3: and really liked it. So check that out. It's about
- 45:58Speaker 3: kind of like substance, abucy stuff and coming of age.
- 46:01Speaker 3: I really like a coming of age movie.
- 46:03Speaker 2: I'm finding a bous Oh I've definitely knew that about you.
- 46:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I love it. And then a coming of age
- 46:09Speaker 3: film about a dad reconnecting with his daughter axel f
- 46:13Speaker 3: great film. Really loved it.
- 46:16Speaker 2: We definitely did a podcast on this episode.
- 46:19Speaker 3: I understood it shouldn't be in my top ten, but
- 46:22Speaker 3: I did really have a nice time with that film.
- 46:24Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I liked it, dude. And I heard that
- 46:28Speaker 2: the one guy, not Judge Reinhold, but the other guy
- 46:32Speaker 2: passed away this year.
- 46:33Speaker 3: Really wow, they got that in under the Wire.
- 46:35Speaker 2: Then, well, I know I couldn't believe it.
- 46:37Speaker 3: It's good. I guess that they got it in.
- 46:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 46:39Speaker 3: Man, I mean he must have been pretty old, right,
- 46:42Speaker 3: I think we even talked about that in the episode.
- 46:45Speaker 3: But yeah, I just liked I liked that movie. I
- 46:47Speaker 3: thought was fun. I had all the ones that you said,
- 46:51Speaker 3: but another one I want to say is, uh wait,
- 46:54Speaker 3: not not Jack Johnson. That's the singer Jake Johnson. Jake
- 46:58Speaker 3: Johnson is the actor, right, Yeah. Yeah, his movie Self
- 47:01Speaker 3: Reliance that came out last year. I liked that movie.
- 47:05Speaker 3: It was early, it was early in the year.
- 47:08Speaker 2: I did watch that as well.
- 47:10Speaker 3: Fun. It was weird and premise like he got to
- 47:13Speaker 3: win a bunch of money if he could survive a
- 47:17Speaker 3: year or something like that or some period of always
- 47:20Speaker 3: looking over his shoulder, and so he like found out
- 47:24Speaker 3: that these people won't kill him if he's not alone.
- 47:27Speaker 3: So it's like a lot of weird stuff with that.
- 47:29Speaker 3: And it's him and Anna Kendrick and then a bunch
- 47:32Speaker 3: of other people. It's a fun movie. I liked it.
- 47:34Speaker 3: That was a yeah, very original, really weird, fun original
- 47:38Speaker 3: vibe like but but a good time. I really enjoyed it.
- 47:41Speaker 3: So I thought that might have been last year. I
- 47:43Speaker 3: did I forgot I looked it up anyway. Oh, I'm
- 47:48Speaker 3: pretty sure this year because I was surprised to him
- 47:50Speaker 3: with you. I was like, oh wow, okay, and then
- 47:54Speaker 3: another one and the last one I'll say for right now.
- 47:57Speaker 3: The Mean Girl's Musical also came out this last year,
- 48:00Speaker 3: and I liked that. Okay, I thought it was fun.
- 48:02Speaker 2: I still haven't seen that.
- 48:03Speaker 3: I got to see that, yeah, but yeah, it was
- 48:06Speaker 3: just fun. But it came out in like February or something,
- 48:09Speaker 3: so it feels like a long time ago.
- 48:12Speaker 2: Yeah. A couple other ones. Did you see Saturday Night
- 48:18Speaker 2: the SNL movie that No? I want to That one's
- 48:21Speaker 2: really well done. It could have made my top ten.
- 48:25Speaker 2: It was a little It's super fast paced and like
- 48:28Speaker 2: kind of it's like before the show. Yes, it's not
- 48:33Speaker 2: uncut Gem's anxiety, but like more on that.
- 48:37Speaker 3: Like nervous, like is this gonna Yeah? I can see that.
- 48:41Speaker 2: Yeah, So that one kind of stressed me out a
- 48:43Speaker 2: little bit.
- 48:44Speaker 3: It's really well done.
- 48:45Speaker 2: Though I had mentioned Monkey Man to you as well.
- 48:49Speaker 2: That one is really impressive.
- 48:52Speaker 3: Sorry, I was thinking about the other one that's coming out,
- 48:54Speaker 3: the like Robbie Williams one where like AIM think.
- 49:00Speaker 2: It's called a Better Better Man that one. Yeah, yeah, sorry,
- 49:04Speaker 2: this was the dev ptel one that he really want
- 49:07Speaker 2: to see. He did everything. It's it's really intense. You're
- 49:12Speaker 2: gonna like it, for sure. It's just it's it's very violent.
- 49:15Speaker 2: If you don't like, stay away, stay away from that.
- 49:19Speaker 2: And I was surprised by Trap the Night.
- 49:23Speaker 3: I still haven't that one either. I would like to.
- 49:25Speaker 2: That one was worth checking out. And we had such
- 49:29Speaker 2: a good fun theater experience going to Twisters, just have fun.
- 49:33Speaker 3: I wanted to action. I'm glad you said that because
- 49:35Speaker 3: I was going to put it on my honorable mentions
- 49:36Speaker 3: for sure, like just a good time, great, great, Yeah,
- 49:40Speaker 3: I got a great magnet out of it.
- 49:43Speaker 2: Yeah. I will say one that I was extremely excited
- 49:47Speaker 2: for and then was just kind of like, I was, okay,
- 49:51Speaker 2: it wasn't like super Bad or anything, but the Alex
- 49:54Speaker 2: Garland film Civil War. I had really high expectation going
- 50:00Speaker 2: into it, and it was still good, but it just
- 50:05Speaker 2: didn't hit that.
- 50:06Speaker 3: Yeah, those lofty like that movie they were going to
- 50:10Speaker 3: go a different way and what they did too and
- 50:12Speaker 3: interesting it was, but I really was like I kind
- 50:14Speaker 3: of wanted to see that, you know, that.
- 50:16Speaker 2: It took me out of it a little bit too.
- 50:19Speaker 3: Yeah, just going back quick, was it Twisters with the
- 50:22Speaker 3: poster where I.
- 50:25Speaker 2: Wasn't a poster, It was a magnet, a big mag
- 50:29Speaker 2: Is that what I slipped on?
- 50:30Speaker 3: Was the magnet? Yeah?
- 50:31Speaker 2: The magnet? Because I have it on my my friends,
- 50:35Speaker 2: my freezer for sure. Yeah that poor guy. Yeah, just
- 50:40Speaker 2: kick the dude in front of him so hard. Yeah
- 50:43Speaker 2: that was really funny.
- 50:45Speaker 3: But yeah, nice. Well should we move forward and talk.
- 50:49Speaker 3: Let's do get to mean? Was mean the next thing?
- 50:52Speaker 2: Let's get mean. We're going to be mean.
- 50:54Speaker 3: Our least favorite movie of twenty twenty four? Would you
- 50:59Speaker 3: like to go first? Or would you like me to
- 51:00Speaker 3: go first? On this one?
- 51:02Speaker 2: I can go first. I have a definite least favorite film.
- 51:07Speaker 2: Another one where I listened to a podcast and I
- 51:10Speaker 2: heard a lot about this film and I thought it
- 51:13Speaker 2: sounded very interesting. It was the Jerry Seinfeld film Unfrosted.
- 51:20Speaker 3: Yeah, I haven't seen it because you were like, what
- 51:23Speaker 3: just happened? Dude?
- 51:25Speaker 2: So he was on SmartLess and he's talking about it,
- 51:29Speaker 2: and he was like, yeah, you know, the pop tart
- 51:31Speaker 2: was Actually it was pretty interesting how it was invented
- 51:35Speaker 2: and you know it was a war between Kellogg's and
- 51:38Speaker 2: General Mills and all this stuff, and I was like,
- 51:40Speaker 2: this sounds like it could be kind of great, and
- 51:45Speaker 2: it is not. It So many cameos, so many amazing
- 51:51Speaker 2: people are in this film, but they just the tone
- 51:56Speaker 2: is all over the place. It's like maybe they were
- 52:00Speaker 2: thinking about doing something real and then was like, you know,
- 52:02Speaker 2: it would be funny. Let's let's make a mutant pop
- 52:07Speaker 2: tart that is CGI and starts jumping. Let's have all
- 52:14Speaker 2: of the Cereal mascots revolt and have like a big
- 52:20Speaker 2: strike and they almost like do like a January sixth
- 52:24Speaker 2: kind of thing. Like it is so all over the place.
- 52:31Speaker 2: Not good. It's just not good. It was a bummer.
- 52:35Speaker 3: I'm glad you were the canary in the mine on
- 52:36Speaker 3: that one because I probably would have watched it.
- 52:39Speaker 2: Well again, maybe maybe you would like it. It was
- 52:42Speaker 2: another one where I put kind of high expectations on
- 52:44Speaker 2: it and then it.
- 52:45Speaker 3: Went maybe maybe so for sure. Oh that's funny. Yeah
- 52:49Speaker 3: that's funny.
- 52:50Speaker 2: But if you think that's something you would like, it
- 52:52Speaker 2: is on Netflix. That was another straight to check it out,
- 52:55Speaker 2: check it out.
- 52:55Speaker 3: Yeah. I had a hard time with this, but I
- 52:59Speaker 3: did make a decision. This is what I saw in
- 53:01Speaker 3: the theater, very high expectations because it was a film
- 53:05Speaker 3: by Francis Ford Coppola. It was a movie that was
- 53:09Speaker 3: supposed to be like his magnum opus, and it just sucks,
- 53:13Speaker 3: Like I don't his magnum right, his magnum poopis. But yeah,
- 53:21Speaker 3: it's a movie called Megalopolis, Megaplopolis. Okay for Floppolis that
- 53:28Speaker 3: probably would have been better.
- 53:29Speaker 2: Flop flop would have been better. We got it all, dude,
- 53:31Speaker 2: You know that that was someone did that right, Like,
- 53:34Speaker 2: somebody did that for sure.
- 53:36Speaker 3: Uh. It is written as an epic.
- 53:38Speaker 2: Uh, it is long.
- 53:41Speaker 3: They got that going for him. This is just a
- 53:44Speaker 3: movie that I didn't get. It didn't make like. There
- 53:47Speaker 3: was some fun parts in it. Aubrey Plaza is actually
- 53:49Speaker 3: really funny in it and really great, but like, plot wise,
- 53:54Speaker 3: it doesn't make sense. There's a lot of incongruency with
- 53:58Speaker 3: what's happening, kind of like what you said, just like
- 54:00Speaker 3: I wasn't. I didn't get what they were going for.
- 54:03Speaker 3: The tone was weird. It felt like they were kind
- 54:05Speaker 3: of trying to do like a Neuveaux Roman thing with
- 54:08Speaker 3: like people gorging themselves and then vomiting it out so
- 54:11Speaker 3: they could eat more and stuff like that and excess.
- 54:14Speaker 3: But I don't know, it was just dumb.
- 54:16Speaker 2: I didn't like it.
- 54:17Speaker 3: It was a bummer. But so many good people in it,
- 54:21Speaker 3: Adam Drivers in it, I mean, so many crazy good people.
- 54:25Speaker 3: But man, that movie sucked and such. I'm not alone
- 54:28Speaker 3: in thinking next, I don't think it did very well. Yeah,
- 54:31Speaker 3: I don't think it did either. Yeah, so that's my
- 54:33Speaker 3: least favorite honorable mention from me to Madam.
- 54:36Speaker 2: Webb, which was which I didn't even seem terrible.
- 54:41Speaker 3: I mean just didn't make any sense.
- 54:43Speaker 2: Again, I mean the actors were in it. Yeah, felt
- 54:46Speaker 2: that way.
- 54:47Speaker 3: Yeah, everyone was, like I thought, I signed up for
- 54:48Speaker 3: a Marvel movie. This sucks. Yeah. So, yeah, did you
- 54:54Speaker 3: have honorable mentions or should we go ahead.
- 54:56Speaker 2: To I didn't really there was another movie, so yeah,
- 55:00Speaker 2: I guess I had one that I did not like,
- 55:02Speaker 2: but I saw that a lot of people did like.
- 55:04Speaker 2: It was an a twenty four film. Again, this was
- 55:07Speaker 2: during my little COVID fever dream watching stuff. But a
- 55:12Speaker 2: movie called I Saw the TV Glow.
- 55:15Speaker 3: It did nothing for me talking about that.
- 55:17Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, it just yeah, it was over my head.
- 55:22Speaker 2: It made me feel weird. I did not like it,
- 55:24Speaker 2: but a lot of people critically really did love it.
- 55:28Speaker 3: Those A twenty fours are like if if they're not
- 55:31Speaker 3: for they're not for you, which is great in a
- 55:33Speaker 3: way because I want them to make these weird movies.
- 55:35Speaker 3: But sometimes I'm like, oh, I missed on this one. Yeah, yeah, for.
- 55:40Speaker 2: Sure, I wasn't into it, but I get to unfrosted definitely.
- 55:44Speaker 3: Nice for sure. Nice. Yeah. Well let's go back into
- 55:47Speaker 3: good is it best acting performance?
- 55:50Speaker 2: Acting performance? What was your favorite acting performance?
- 55:53Speaker 3: This was hard, rob, but I kept coming back to this.
- 55:58Speaker 3: I think it's just Cynthia Revo and and I don't
- 56:01Speaker 3: like I kind of just kept being like, why am
- 56:03Speaker 3: I trying to talk myself out of that? Because she's
- 56:06Speaker 3: wonderful for all the reasons you said, Like, she plays
- 56:10Speaker 3: such a wide range of a character that is both
- 56:13Speaker 3: exceedingly strong and also very vulnerable at various points. She
- 56:17Speaker 3: obviously sings her ass off. I mean we all know that,
- 56:20Speaker 3: but yeah, I just think she's so great and the
- 56:23Speaker 3: choices she made seems so wonderful. And you know this,
- 56:27Speaker 3: this plot point of her having like green skin could
- 56:30Speaker 3: so like it so easily could go into like a
- 56:34Speaker 3: like race, and it obviously is about that, but it's
- 56:37Speaker 3: not about you know, I don't know, like she tows
- 56:39Speaker 3: the line so wonderfully about you know, not placing extra
- 56:44Speaker 3: things on top of this, but just letting this character
- 56:47Speaker 3: live and breathe. And I just think that's so great.
- 56:50Speaker 3: I just loved it. Yeah, I thought she was wonderful.
- 56:53Speaker 2: She was who'd you have? She's She's definitely up there
- 56:56Speaker 2: for me. I decided to put Shallome up there for
- 57:01Speaker 2: a complete unknown nice with Cynthia Reva right below it.
- 57:05Speaker 2: But yeah, for all the things I said, just he
- 57:09Speaker 2: totally encapsulated Bob Dylan and how he was able to
- 57:12Speaker 2: sing that way and yeah, just led that movie and
- 57:16Speaker 2: he's just he is everywhere and everything that he's doing
- 57:20Speaker 2: is so it just.
- 57:21Speaker 3: Seems like such a nice dude, like very cool, pretty chill. Yeah,
- 57:26Speaker 3: I love that. This was quite the year of ladies
- 57:28Speaker 3: for me because my runners up or scho Sharonan in
- 57:32Speaker 3: the Outrun because she was amazing in it. Yeah, the
- 57:36Speaker 3: substance to me more Mikey Madison I thought.
- 57:40Speaker 2: Was fretty Madison for me.
- 57:41Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely, And Jody Comer in a movie that we
- 57:44Speaker 3: didn't say yet, but The Bike Riders, which was a
- 57:47Speaker 3: pretty good movie. I liked it.
- 57:49Speaker 2: I didn't do anything for me, but she was great
- 57:51Speaker 2: in it. I thought she was great. That Chicago actually
- 57:54Speaker 2: was the best crazy of that movie for sure, agreed,
- 57:57Speaker 2: And I mean, everybody was good in it. It was
- 57:59Speaker 2: just another kind of it's like a biopic, and I
- 58:03Speaker 2: was kind of bored.
- 58:04Speaker 3: I get that it just didn't like, you know, enough
- 58:07Speaker 3: places or something.
- 58:08Speaker 2: But yeah, but all you know, Austin Butler, Tom Hardy, Herb,
- 58:13Speaker 2: they all were great.
- 58:16Speaker 3: Nice. What's next? We got?
- 58:20Speaker 2: Best movie not released in twenty twenty four that you saw?
- 58:25Speaker 2: I put down a few, the one that just kind
- 58:30Speaker 2: of blew me away, because at the beginning of the
- 58:33Speaker 2: year I was going through all the A twenty four
- 58:34Speaker 2: films and then I kind of settled down on that.
- 58:37Speaker 2: But one of the best ones that I saw was
- 58:41Speaker 2: a movie called Remember that came out in twenty fifteen,
- 58:47Speaker 2: and this was the Christopher Plumber film where he is
- 58:51Speaker 2: an Auschwitz survivor and he is going through dementia and
- 58:59Speaker 2: he like teams up with another elderly Auschwitz survivor played
- 59:03Speaker 2: by played by Martin Landau. And they like write this
- 59:08Speaker 2: letter that he's always looking at and he's gonna go
- 59:12Speaker 2: out and face the person that was responsible for the
- 59:16Speaker 2: death of his family at the camp, the internment camp. Wow,
- 59:24Speaker 2: so so intense, dude, this movie was so intense.
- 59:28Speaker 3: Yeah, it sounds like it.
- 59:30Speaker 2: But incredible, Like Christopher Plumber was so nuts. I just
- 59:35Speaker 2: can't believe I never heard of this movie.
- 59:37Speaker 3: Yeah, I haven't the name of it against.
- 59:39Speaker 2: It remember, remember, Yeah, I haven't heard of that. And
- 59:42Speaker 2: a pretty in the A twenty four film. That's why
- 59:45Speaker 2: we didn't hear about it. Wow, that was the coolest one.
- 59:49Speaker 2: And I had some honorable mentions, but you what was
- 59:52Speaker 2: your number one?
- 59:53Speaker 3: Well, now I'm concerned because this movie already came up
- 59:56Speaker 3: once and I couldn't remember. I'm now concerned that you
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: had it on your honorable mentions. But I just looked
- 1:00:03Speaker 3: it up and it does say twenty twenty three Wicked
- 1:00:06Speaker 3: Little Letters. Did you say that for an honorable mention
- 1:00:08Speaker 3: or did it just come up?
- 1:00:10Speaker 2: Oh no, it came out said it for an honorable mention?
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: No?
- 1:00:14Speaker 2: I did say it for an honorable mention when was Wicked?
- 1:00:19Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't know. This is twenty twenty three, but
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: I also thought it was twenty twenty four for some reason.
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: So so it says twenty twenty three on IMDb. But
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: the reins that was like the UK deal. The release
- 1:00:32Speaker 2: date was March twenty ninth, twenty twenty four.
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: Tricky. Okay, well I should have caught that when you
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: said it. So that movie was fun. Just everybody be cool.
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: I'm going to talk about now. Well, then, what was
- 1:00:44Speaker 3: it I had to pick for my honorable mentions?
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: Here?
- 1:00:46Speaker 3: Give me one sec. You know this movie caught me
- 1:00:52Speaker 3: by surprise. Let me pull it up from twenty sixteen.
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: I had to look up the date. This was another
- 1:01:02Speaker 3: Richard Linklater movie, and it was I think I watched
- 1:01:05Speaker 3: it on Prime. It was Everybody Wants Some And I
- 1:01:08Speaker 3: don't know if you ever saw that or not. I
- 1:01:10Speaker 3: can't remember I did.
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: Yeah, we talked about it. I remember you talking about
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: it before an episode.
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: Another Glenn Powell movie, It's All About These It's an
- 1:01:18Speaker 3: an eighties movie about a college baseball team and sort
- 1:01:22Speaker 3: of like the sort of like team house slash frat
- 1:01:26Speaker 3: and all that entails within college and a freshman moving
- 1:01:29Speaker 3: in and stuff. And it was a really fun movie.
- 1:01:32Speaker 3: I thought it was really great. He held onto that.
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: You know that like Buddy, you know, like comedy, you know,
- 1:01:39Speaker 3: Shenanigan's kind of vibe. And I really liked it. And
- 1:01:42Speaker 3: I had never even heard of it before I pressed play.
- 1:01:45Speaker 3: I feel like so I was like, all right, I'm
- 1:01:48Speaker 3: in let's do it, and I thought it was really fun.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: It was.
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: I liked it, it definitely was. My runner ups were
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: that rom com that I loved that came out last
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: year called.
- 1:02:00Speaker 3: Yeah that was good. I loved.
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: I like that movie too, and then kind of a
- 1:02:06Speaker 2: classic movie that I had never seen but finally got
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: around to seeing was Glen Glengary Glenn Rosse that came
- 1:02:15Speaker 2: out way back in ninety two and had all those
- 1:02:17Speaker 2: amazing actors in it.
- 1:02:20Speaker 3: Finally, other runner up was Awakenings because you had said
- 1:02:24Speaker 3: like that movie so much, so I finally watched that.
- 1:02:26Speaker 3: That was really good. But yeah, nice, that was movie,
- 1:02:30Speaker 3: not twenty farr.
- 1:02:36Speaker 2: Well, do you want to play a game. Let's do it.
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: Let's let's do a last man Stanton. I had put
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: out on the social media. Yeah job, we'll see if
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: anybody replied. We got a few replies, right, let's check
- 1:02:56Speaker 2: it out. Didn't get a Ton from ours. I'm glad
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: I posted it. We got Johnny Depp.
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: We never done Johnny Depp. Wow, weird.
- 1:03:08Speaker 2: I don't know if we've done Johnny Depp. And then
- 1:03:12Speaker 2: Sigourney Weaver was on that one. Okay, then I have uh,
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: Clenn Eastwood, Nicholas Cage, Matthew McConaughey, Samuel L. Jackson, Christian Bale,
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: who I think we've done, uh, and Denzel, which I
- 1:03:35Speaker 2: know we've done recently.
- 1:03:37Speaker 3: I think we did Samuel L. Too.
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:03:40Speaker 3: I think.
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: I don't know if we've done McConaughey, but I wouldn't
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: be surprised if we don't.
- 1:03:46Speaker 3: Feel like I don't know that we ever did Johnny.
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: Eastwood, Nicholas Cage, Johnny Depp could be interesting.
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: You mants just go for that. I don't know how
- 1:03:55Speaker 3: many I'll have, but that seems like it could.
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: Yeah, it could be. Let's do Johnny Depp. Let's So
- 1:04:04Speaker 2: this is where we're just going to keep on saying
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: as many Johnny Depp movies as we can, and whoever
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: can't do it lose us.
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: I'll go first. You go, frankco Strong Strong I would
- 1:04:22Speaker 3: have maybe held on it. That's all right, we all
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: know who's winning. Anyway. If I let's do my only one, that's.
- 1:04:30Speaker 2: My only one. I'll do a Sweeney Todd the Demon Barbara.
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: I will do Alice in Wonderland.
- 1:04:40Speaker 2: Okay, I'll do Alice through the Looking Glass.
- 1:04:44Speaker 3: Queen, Queen of Hearts. Yeah, you're right. Interesting, Okay, I'll
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: do parts of the Caribbean.
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: Oh all the call is I think the is the
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: first one. But there's four, right, so we can just
- 1:05:03Speaker 2: say there's so many. I don't know you can have
- 1:05:07Speaker 2: all because I don't know.
- 1:05:09Speaker 3: I'm gonna keep saying that this will be a good
- 1:05:11Speaker 3: will be a good evening out, actually probably for us.
- 1:05:15Speaker 3: I'll do Edward Scissorhands. Okay. Then I will do Pirates
- 1:05:22Speaker 3: of the Caribbean, the Curse of the Black Pearl.
- 1:05:25Speaker 2: Okay, nice. I will do Charlie in the Chocolate Factory.
- 1:05:32Speaker 3: Pirates of the Caribbean, dead Man's Chest. I think, Okay,
- 1:05:41Speaker 3: let's do this is what we should always do.
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: I don't like that you're still gonna be I'm gonna
- 1:05:49Speaker 2: do the what's it called. I'm gonna do Black Masks.
- 1:05:55Speaker 3: Oh that's a good one. Nice, good call. Yeah. Uh
- 1:06:00Speaker 3: to the Caribbean. At World's End. I think I think
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: that's something like that's pretty close. Yeah, and I'll stop
- 1:06:11Speaker 3: because I think that's all.
- 1:06:12Speaker 2: Now I'm gonna go with Finding Neverland.
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: Good one. That crying scene, my god. Yeah, well there's
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: probably a lot, but uh, fantastic beasts and where to
- 1:06:29Speaker 3: find them? Right?
- 1:06:33Speaker 2: Sure? Yeah, and then I'll do, uh, Crimes of Grindlewald?
- 1:06:37Speaker 3: But was he in that one? Because remember they switch.
- 1:06:40Speaker 2: Isn't he Grindlewald?
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: Though?
- 1:06:42Speaker 2: Yeah, but isn't he?
- 1:06:43Speaker 3: But they switched it. That's why I don't remember if
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: they switched actors for the second one. Let's give it
- 1:06:48Speaker 3: to you. That's that's great. Well, let's look at Crimes
- 1:06:50Speaker 3: of grindle Okay, I think they might have had his
- 1:06:54Speaker 3: face still and then we're like a and he switched. Uh,
- 1:06:59Speaker 3: I'll say blow blow a good one.
- 1:07:05Speaker 2: That movie? Did not know?
- 1:07:06Speaker 3: That movie was pretty great. Actually, I should watch it again.
- 1:07:09Speaker 3: It was pretty great. Hmmm.
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: I have a couple of deep cuts that I wanted
- 1:07:18Speaker 2: to hold on to, but I think I might have
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: to start going into those.
- 1:07:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't have a lot left. I'm gonna be
- 1:07:23Speaker 3: honest with you.
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: He did the other Hunters top someone. I think it's
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: called the rum Diary.
- 1:07:30Speaker 3: Or the Rum Diaries. I don't remember if it's plural
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: or one. I think it's I think it's just one. Yeah, okay,
- 1:07:37Speaker 3: that's a good one. What's eaton? Gilbert Grape? Good? Call
- 1:07:45Speaker 3: that movie? I did not think of that, you know,
- 1:07:48Speaker 3: I never saw that all the way. Oh really, I
- 1:07:51Speaker 3: really liked that movie.
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: Yeah, it was a long time ago. One that I
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: was holding onto. Uh was called Nick of Time? Oh wow?
- 1:08:02Speaker 2: Which was one that we had. I think we might
- 1:08:05Speaker 2: have had it on VHS.
- 1:08:06Speaker 3: Yeah, sure, Yeah, we liked that one a lot. My
- 1:08:10Speaker 3: family did. What's the Why can't I think of the
- 1:08:13Speaker 3: beginning of it? The Wonder Emporium one? He was in
- 1:08:17Speaker 3: something he's not in that?
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: I thought he was no done that before. Yeah, you
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: missed those. You mix those ones out of time and
- 1:08:28Speaker 2: I think he might have been in that.
- 1:08:29Speaker 3: One's whichever one is the one that Heath Ledger was
- 1:08:32Speaker 3: gonna be in?
- 1:08:32Speaker 2: And then the Doctor Parnassas one, the Heath Ledger on Well,
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: and it's like a long title. Yeah, okay, so it's
- 1:08:41Speaker 2: mister mcgream's Wonder Imporium. That's not the one. It's like
- 1:08:44Speaker 2: the Imaginarium of doctor Parnassis or something.
- 1:08:48Speaker 3: Do I get that? Probably? Not sure? Okay, you're gonna win.
- 1:08:53Speaker 2: I'm gonna do that cry Baby movie, which was so weird,
- 1:08:57Speaker 2: and I.
- 1:08:58Speaker 3: Don't think I remember that.
- 1:08:59Speaker 2: It's the director with like the little mustache.
- 1:09:03Speaker 3: What is it?
- 1:09:04Speaker 2: It's a very like he has a very uh style.
- 1:09:10Speaker 3: Okay, I can't think of what his name is.
- 1:09:13Speaker 2: Very specific style.
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: It's like a Wes Anderson kind of thing or something
- 1:09:16Speaker 3: like that.
- 1:09:17Speaker 2: Yes, but but it's really weak.
- 1:09:19Speaker 3: Yeah. I do believe he was in Nightmare Before Christmas.
- 1:09:25Speaker 3: He's the voice of that Jack Scully. I think he is.
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: I know that Danny. I don't think isn't that Danny Elfman?
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: Or is he just the singing voice?
- 1:09:39Speaker 3: Oh boy? He might be right.
- 1:09:41Speaker 2: Uh, I don't think he's in that dude, well poop.
- 1:09:48Speaker 3: Yeah, I think you're right. Why do I think he
- 1:09:51Speaker 3: was in that? He's in all those? Okay, well not
- 1:09:55Speaker 3: that one? Then uh I might be out then rob.
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:10:08Speaker 3: Was he in like Donny Braska or something. I feel
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: like he was in it, I said, don I said
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: that one. Okay, That's why I was like, I feel
- 1:10:14Speaker 3: like he was in a buddy cop movie.
- 1:10:16Speaker 2: Oh no, I might have just said, did you say it?
- 1:10:19Speaker 2: I don't know if I actually said Donnie Brasco because
- 1:10:21Speaker 2: I had put it on there and then I went
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: with Black Mass.
- 1:10:24Speaker 3: I don't know if I said, and I think I mean,
- 1:10:27Speaker 3: I only know that because you bring it up. So yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: I'm gonna say that. I've never actually seen it, but
- 1:10:33Speaker 3: I thought he was in it.
- 1:10:38Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a great movie that I feel like people
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: don't know.
- 1:10:40Speaker 3: I need to see that.
- 1:10:41Speaker 2: Think about that hole. It's him and al Pacino. Yeah,
- 1:10:47Speaker 2: the Secret or I think it's just called Secret Window
- 1:10:50Speaker 2: and that was a Stephen King novel. It is him
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: and Jountity.
- 1:10:54Speaker 3: He was in Chacko La. I believe it was. Oh,
- 1:10:59Speaker 3: and that makes me think of don Juan DeMarco. Oh yeah,
- 1:11:02Speaker 3: good call.
- 1:11:02Speaker 2: Yeah crap that came out around the same time.
- 1:11:07Speaker 3: And you said Edwards is her hands already? Right? I
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: did say that, gotcha? Then I think I might be
- 1:11:14Speaker 3: out he was like a mob bosson one? Did we
- 1:11:20Speaker 3: already say that one?
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: I've been trying to think of that. Well, that might
- 1:11:23Speaker 2: be Black Mass, but I'm thinking of a different one
- 1:11:28Speaker 2: where I thought he was a mob guy.
- 1:11:30Speaker 3: But I don't think it's bio mass that I'm thinking of,
- 1:11:32Speaker 3: but I also don't.
- 1:11:33Speaker 2: Know, well because he's Whitey Bulger in that. Oh yeah,
- 1:11:36Speaker 2: so maybe that is what I'm.
- 1:11:39Speaker 3: But I'm picturing one from further.
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: I don't know what.
- 1:11:43Speaker 3: I don't know what it is. I think i'm out.
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: The other ones I had was the Tourist. It was
- 1:11:50Speaker 2: him and Angelina Joe Lee, and I'm pretty sure he
- 1:11:56Speaker 2: was wasn't his first thing Nightmare on Elm Street?
