- 0:00Speaker 1: You'll see.
- 0:00Speaker 2: I have a lot of like, oh, she's doing ranch things,
- 0:03Speaker 2: because I don't know what they're doing. I live in
- 0:06Speaker 2: the suburbs of Orange County.

- 0:59Speaker 2: of people host King of Hallmark bracket, So come jump
- 1:03Speaker 2: in and we're talking movies, we're talking shows. We're talking
- 1:07Speaker 2: a lot of Tyler Hines lately, a.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Lot of Tyler Hines thirsttrap photos being quested in the group.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Let me ask you a question, please, how hard was
- 1:18Speaker 2: it to get into this first episode of a brand
- 1:22Speaker 2: new series after just finishing the finale of the other
- 1:26Speaker 2: series we were totally invested in. That's a good question,
- 1:30Speaker 2: and I have two different answers. Okay, As a viewer.
- 1:35Speaker 1: I didn't find it hard to get into. I did
- 1:37Speaker 1: wait a full two days between watching The Way Home
- 1:41Speaker 1: and Ride because The Way Home really stuck with me.
- 1:43Speaker 1: I had a lot of thoughts. I was very invested
- 1:46Speaker 1: in that show. But as a viewer, I found this
- 1:48Speaker 1: easy to watch and get into. As a recapper, however,
- 1:52Speaker 1: I owe you an apology me yes, because when we
- 1:56Speaker 1: were discussing whether or not we should recap this series,
- 2:00Speaker 1: I was like, ugh, recapping's easy. But I was at
- 2:04Speaker 1: that point, eight episodes deep into a series where it
- 2:07Speaker 1: had become very easy to talk about these people because
- 2:10Speaker 1: I felt like I knew them right. And what I
- 2:14Speaker 1: wasn't considering was the learning curve of a new series,
- 2:18Speaker 1: a series that is based on a world I know
- 2:21Speaker 1: absolutely nothing about. Oh you mean you knew? You knew
- 2:24Speaker 1: that time travel though, but at least time travels made up. Yeah,
- 2:31Speaker 1: there are people who are bull riding.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Yeah, this rodeo world exists, and I would like to
- 2:37Speaker 2: just preface before we even get into it, like, I
- 2:40Speaker 2: know nothing nothing about bull riding rodeos, ranches, so you'll
- 2:47Speaker 2: see I have a lot of like, oh, she's doing
- 2:49Speaker 2: ranch things because I don't know what they're doing. I
- 2:52Speaker 2: live in these suburbs of Orange County, like I have
- 2:55Speaker 2: no freaking idea.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Kind of like Dell doing farm stuff.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Yes, it's not as disrespect, it's truly because I don't know.
- 3:03Speaker 1: I agree. And the final thing I think that was
- 3:06Speaker 1: different about this is the it's a deep cast, so
- 3:10Speaker 1: we were really dealing with the way home, like three main characters,
- 3:14Speaker 1: and we're dealing with a lot of people in this
- 3:17Speaker 1: guest and learning their names, and there would be scenes
- 3:21Speaker 1: and I didn't realize that's who that was like until
- 3:23Speaker 1: someone would call them by their name. Like there some
- 3:28Speaker 1: reason I have face blindness when it comes to tough.
- 3:30Speaker 1: I'm going to tell you that right now. Oh interested
- 3:32Speaker 1: the scene until someone calls him tough, unless he's actively
- 3:35Speaker 1: having a conversation with his mom or missy, like who's
- 3:38Speaker 1: that guy singing on stage? So it will come. But
- 3:43Speaker 1: it was a bit of a learning curve. It took
- 3:45Speaker 1: me two hours to get my notes together for this.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Me too, and I will tell you like in the
- 3:50Speaker 2: opening scene, it took me so long and I had
- 3:54Speaker 2: to look.
- 3:54Speaker 1: I even write a note I go, there is so
- 3:56Speaker 1: much dialogue in.
- 3:57Speaker 2: The first forty seconds of the scene setting up who
- 4:00Speaker 2: these people are and what they do, Like, it was
- 4:03Speaker 2: very difficult, very difficult, I agree.
- 4:07Speaker 1: With you, And I almost feel like I watched that
- 4:10Speaker 1: scene five or six times. Yeah, me, and I kept pausing,
- 4:14Speaker 1: and I kind of paired my notes down because I think,
- 4:17Speaker 1: like there's so much scenes setting there, but it's hard
- 4:20Speaker 1: to tell how much of the details are important.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Right, So I will tell you that my notes as well,
- 4:27Speaker 2: are kind of like heavily detailed at first, and then
- 4:29Speaker 2: by the end of the episode it really pairs down.
- 4:32Speaker 2: So I think going forward, hopefully it's like a more
- 4:36Speaker 2: pared down version, closer to what we were.
- 4:38Speaker 1: Doing on the way home.
- 4:40Speaker 2: H especially after a pilot episode. Pilot episodes are so
- 4:43Speaker 2: full with so much detail trying to get a better
- 4:47Speaker 2: understanding of like what is to come, who these people are,
- 4:51Speaker 2: And I personally hate pilot episodes, so.
- 4:55Speaker 1: There's so much set up in so many characters, and
- 4:57Speaker 1: so much we need to know going yeah, exactly, Well,
- 5:01Speaker 1: are you ready to get into it? I am.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Let me start with a episode synopsis, thank you, following
- 5:09Speaker 2: a tragic event, a renowned Colorado ranching family must pick
- 5:13Speaker 2: up the pieces to save their ranch. Let's talk about
- 5:17Speaker 2: the cast for a minute. Okay, of course we have
- 5:20Speaker 2: Nancy Travis. She plays Isabelle. She is the mom. Missy
- 5:25Speaker 2: is played by.
- 5:28Speaker 1: I'm gonna say her name is Tierras. Okay, we're gonna
- 5:31Speaker 1: work on that. Pronuncia will work on that.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Marcus Rossner plays Austin bo Mierkoff plays Cash. Jake Foy
- 5:41Speaker 2: plays tough Sarah Garcia is Valeria, which is a name
- 5:45Speaker 2: I'm gonna screw up all the time as well. Oh no,
- 5:48Speaker 2: and then the only other person that I have listed
- 5:50Speaker 2: right now. His name is Greg Lawson and he plays Hank,
- 5:54Speaker 2: the rodeo announcer slash mayor.
- 5:58Speaker 1: And I have some thoughts on the cast that gets
- 6:03Speaker 1: named on IMDb as well as in the show. Mmm, okay,
- 6:08Speaker 1: all right.
- 6:09Speaker 2: The show opens with aerial views of McMurray ranch, and
- 6:13Speaker 2: like I said, there's a ton of dialogue in this
- 6:16Speaker 2: first whole scene, so buckle up, folks. It's a busy
- 6:20Speaker 2: morning in the family kitchen and Missy's cookie breakfast, Isabelle's
- 6:24Speaker 2: grabbing stuff from the refrigerator, and it walks Austin and
- 6:27Speaker 2: he's talking about how he loves the smell of bacon
- 6:29Speaker 2: in the morning, and I was like, kind of laughed
- 6:32Speaker 2: because I was like, who doesn't, And I was like, oh,
- 6:33Speaker 2: vegans probably don't, but okay, anyway, brother tough response by
- 6:39Speaker 2: saying you never have a bacon on a ride day,
- 6:41Speaker 2: and Isabelle greets Austin with this like big hug and
- 6:45Speaker 2: says it's it's breakfast for my rodeo champion. Missy follows
- 6:50Speaker 2: up with a rodeo pun about the food, and I
- 6:53Speaker 2: was like, okay, we get it. They're they're rodeo people.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Kind of the oh I liked the show. I'm not
- 7:02Speaker 2: saying I didn't dislike this show, but I was like, okay, enough,
- 7:05Speaker 2: like right, okay, But then it still goes on Valeria
- 7:11Speaker 2: like stumbles out and she comes into the kitchen and
- 7:14Speaker 2: comments about Austin and his game day process and Tough
- 7:18Speaker 2: hands Austin a coffee where he refers to himself as
- 7:21Speaker 2: his bull fighting little brother. So again, yes, we know
- 7:24Speaker 2: you guys do this for a living. Isabelle then asks
- 7:28Speaker 2: Missy about our suicide drag, which I.
- 7:30Speaker 1: Had to google I did.
- 7:32Speaker 2: I let's see no one's stunt in trick riding. So
- 7:37Speaker 2: these are things that do not know, like does she
- 7:40Speaker 2: just do tricks on horses or what's the story?
- 7:43Speaker 1: Well, as a trick rider, yes she does tricks on horses.
- 7:47Speaker 1: I haven't aside here. Okay, I used to go to
- 7:49Speaker 1: horseback riding camp called raw Hide Ranch in soccer. Why
- 7:57Speaker 1: does that seem like something I would do? Because it
- 8:00Speaker 1: wasn't fancy modeling school too, so it wasn't fancy. Okay,
- 8:05Speaker 1: it was in bondsall California. It still exists and I
- 8:08Speaker 1: actually have been curious to look it up see what
- 8:10Speaker 1: it costs now. But we while we were there, had
- 8:14Speaker 1: to do a number of things, and by the way,
- 8:17Speaker 1: every single person had a job. And my first year
- 8:19Speaker 1: there at my job was scooping horse poop. Okay, there
- 8:21Speaker 1: were a better job than that was mine. So every
- 8:24Speaker 1: day twice a day anyway, One of the things we
- 8:27Speaker 1: did was vaulting, which is gymnastics on a moving horse,
- 8:30Speaker 1: and I thought, oho, is that what she's doing. But
- 8:33Speaker 1: by the way I looked it up and trick riding
- 8:36Speaker 1: and vaulting are two different things, which news to me.
- 8:40Speaker 1: Vaulting is more gymnastics like dance and trick riding is
- 8:44Speaker 1: done at a faster pace and includes more dynamic moves
- 8:48Speaker 1: like hangs and falls, so she's really getting in there,
- 8:50Speaker 1: which we'll see later in this episode.
- 8:52Speaker 2: Who the hell comes up with this idea of like
- 8:55Speaker 2: doing gymnastics on a huge moving animal.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Here's my guest, Like, we got to have something for
- 9:01Speaker 1: the ladies to do to a us, and that's what
- 9:04Speaker 1: they came up with. How can they dance on a horse?
- 9:06Speaker 1: You're probably they're right about that. That's funny, although does
- 9:12Speaker 1: take quite a bit of athleticism to do these things
- 9:14Speaker 1: on a horse that is actively moving. I've never even
- 9:18Speaker 1: ridden the horse. No, never riding horses. Shockers, I had one. Okay, okay, yeah.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Isabel tells everyone they're gonna do amazing today and Austin
- 9:31Speaker 2: makes a snide comment about his absent brother Cash, and
- 9:35Speaker 2: Isabel warns everyone not to pick on Cash when he's
- 9:38Speaker 2: not there to defend himself. Next, we have Missy. She
- 9:42Speaker 2: checks in on Austin to make sure he's doing okay
- 9:44Speaker 2: before his big ride, and he practically dismisses her and
- 9:50Speaker 2: then says to the family, who's ready to win the rodeo?
- 9:53Speaker 1: And everybody hoots and hollers. Yeah. The most important thing
- 9:56Speaker 1: in that opening scene to me is Jake being not
- 9:59Speaker 1: Jake Austin being cagey and he gets a message. He's like, oh,
- 10:03Speaker 1: it's fine, something's up, dismisses her. Something's going on. That's
- 10:08Speaker 1: what they're establishing in addition to their family roles. We
- 10:11Speaker 1: cut to the rodeo in Boulder, Colorado, and we hear
- 10:14Speaker 1: Missy being introduced as former miss Rodeo Rocky Mountain, and
- 10:17Speaker 1: we see what I have to assume as a stunt writer,
- 10:20Speaker 1: but perhaps she is a trick writer herself. Hanging off
- 10:23Speaker 1: the side of a horse to the song by Shania
- 10:26Speaker 1: Twain giddy Up, which is a bop. I gotta say
- 10:30Speaker 1: I really enjoyed that song and great music throughout the episode.
- 10:33Speaker 1: I agree. Yes, big smiles, big cheers, everyone's having a
- 10:37Speaker 1: good time.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Can I point out here and this is not a digit,
- 10:42Speaker 2: see that, but it is a digit? See that half
- 10:44Speaker 2: of the arena where they were doing this was empty.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Oh no, there was just people like on the one side.
- 10:50Speaker 2: And watching the rest of the episode, I felt like
- 10:53Speaker 2: this was might have been like a pickup scene that
- 10:55Speaker 2: they went back and did because visually looked totally different
- 10:59Speaker 2: than any thing else in the rest of the episode
- 11:01Speaker 2: to me, Oh, interesting, but that's I have I know nothing,
- 11:05Speaker 2: I know no details. I'm just telling you what I observed.
- 11:08Speaker 1: I hear you. We cut to Missy riding her horse
- 11:11Speaker 1: back into the holding stables behind the arena. Did you
- 11:15Speaker 1: have to google that too? No?
- 11:17Speaker 2: Oh, I just wrote stable because I didn't know it
- 11:19Speaker 2: was like a holding stable. But that makes sense that
- 11:21Speaker 2: it's a holding stable behind me.
- 11:23Speaker 1: Well, like those horses don't live there. Yeah, no, no,
- 11:25Speaker 1: of course, and someone waves at her and we see
- 11:27Speaker 1: her looking shocked. She dismounts her horse, runs over and
- 11:30Speaker 1: gives Cash a big hug, says how great it is
- 11:32Speaker 1: to see him, and he asks how everything is, and
- 11:35Speaker 1: Missy hesitates before saying it's fine. He apologizes for leaving,
- 11:40Speaker 1: and when we find out why he was gone in
- 11:42Speaker 1: a minute, I think it's odd that he apologizes. I
- 11:45Speaker 1: think he apologies for leaving the way that he did.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Macy says she can't do this right now, and then
- 11:50Speaker 1: Cash says something up with Austin, and she hesitates and
- 11:53Speaker 1: in comes Austin, accusing Cash of trash talking him to
- 11:56Speaker 1: his wife. So there is no love lost between these
- 11:58Speaker 1: two brothers in this moment.
- 11:59Speaker 2: There's some real big dick energy in the scene, right.
- 12:04Speaker 1: You know. Cash says it's not like that, and off
- 12:08Speaker 1: goes Austin and Missy hesitates before chasing after him.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Next thing, we have Isabel and val Laria in the
- 12:15Speaker 2: stands and Isabel points out a dude named JB. We'll
- 12:18Speaker 2: know more about him later. He is someone who is
- 12:21Speaker 2: currently sponsoring Austin as a writer. I'm guessing he's like
- 12:25Speaker 2: an investor.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Right, well, I think he's like the Jean's brand guy. No,
- 12:30Speaker 1: he is the jeans brand guy.
- 12:32Speaker 2: But I think he has invested in like Austin as
- 12:38Speaker 2: a writer or sponsoring him or whatever. He gets paid.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Austin gets paid by this guy. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, okay.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Missy joins Isabel and Valeria in the stands and justin
- 12:49Speaker 2: Valeria gets a.
- 12:50Speaker 1: Text and she bounces.
- 12:52Speaker 2: Cash taps Isabel on the shoulder from behind, and he
- 12:55Speaker 2: surprises his mom that he's back.
- 12:57Speaker 1: More big hugs. We see Valaria and Austin talking and
- 13:01Speaker 1: Austin says, you can't tell anyone about this, and then
- 13:04Speaker 1: we cut away. Presumably he tells her something and inside
- 13:07Speaker 1: the stadium they're announcing Austin's ride. Outside, we see Austin
- 13:11Speaker 1: once again asking for help, saying I know your secret
- 13:14Speaker 1: to Valeria, but we don't know what he needs help
- 13:17Speaker 1: with or Valeria's secret at this moment, and there's kind
- 13:20Speaker 1: of like a cagey looking dude off in the distance
- 13:22Speaker 1: looking on. We see Austin arrive in the rodeo ring
- 13:26Speaker 1: all BD once again, and Varia drives off with a
- 13:30Speaker 1: truck and a trailer, and we learn in this moment
- 13:33Speaker 1: that Cash has been overseas, he's back from a deployment.
- 13:35Speaker 1: And Austin shouts out his family, his mom, his wife,
- 13:39Speaker 1: and his little brother Tuss. And we learn also in
- 13:42Speaker 1: this moment that Austin's dad has passed and he himself
- 13:45Speaker 1: was also a great bull rider. And is now the
- 13:48Speaker 1: time where I tell you how deeply uncomfortable but writing
- 13:53Speaker 1: makes me me too. I'm glad you said something. What
- 13:57Speaker 1: makes you? What makes it uncomfortable for you? I don't
- 14:00Speaker 1: like animals being put in a position where they're working
- 14:04Speaker 1: for entertainment. Yeah, I mean neither. That makes me uncomfortable.
- 14:08Speaker 2: I am going to agree with you. And this is
- 14:12Speaker 2: where I also have to say, like, I know nothing
- 14:14Speaker 2: about nothing, and I know this is a lifestyle for people,
- 14:18Speaker 2: so I can respect that. However, it makes me uncomfortable
- 14:23Speaker 2: as well.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Yes, you don't know what you don't know, but that's
- 14:27Speaker 1: where I am.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Can I also point out I was a little bit
- 14:31Speaker 2: surprised about all the protective equipment bull riders wear these days.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Yeah, when I saw the helmet, I was shocked.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Yeah, because the only like rodeo type movie, it's called
- 14:44Speaker 2: eight seconds. I wasn't gonna carry in it.
- 14:48Speaker 1: He's not wearing a helmet.
- 14:49Speaker 2: I don't think I've ever actually seen it. I don't
- 14:53Speaker 2: think I've seen it, but he doesn't wear a helmet
- 14:55Speaker 2: in it, like I wonder when that was introduced. And
- 14:58Speaker 2: I'm guessing this because of concussion and whatever.
- 15:00Speaker 1: You know, so sure interesting bucked off the bowl land
- 15:03Speaker 1: on your head. Yeah, Austin is being prepped for his ride.
- 15:07Speaker 1: Obviously there's a lot going on that I could not
- 15:09Speaker 1: begin to describe. But there's, you know, the wrapping of
- 15:12Speaker 1: the ropes and all of this, and he says, let's go, boys,
- 15:14Speaker 1: and off goes the bull and we see shots of
- 15:17Speaker 1: what looks like a rough ride. Although I imagine every
- 15:19Speaker 1: bull ride is a rough ride. We see Isabelle and
- 15:22Speaker 1: Cash looking nervous, We see shots of the seconds ticking
- 15:26Speaker 1: down on the clock, and then a horrifying fall, shocked
- 15:30Speaker 1: and horrified looks all around, and the opening title ride roll. Okay, listen.
- 15:36Speaker 2: I've watched this scene over and over again and there
- 15:40Speaker 2: was far too many squishing noises that I heard and
- 15:44Speaker 2: like coupled with everybody's reaction and like a man yelling
- 15:47Speaker 2: good amount of there. And I was like, but I
- 15:51Speaker 2: have a question for you.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Mm hmm. I had saw spoiler before watching this. M
- 15:58Speaker 1: mind you.
- 15:58Speaker 2: I had no idea who any but he was when
- 16:00Speaker 2: I saw the spoiler, and they were like, they killed
- 16:04Speaker 2: off Marcus Rossner, Like, apparently he's like a big deal.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Yeah, I have some additional information about that. Help me.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Marcus Rossner posted either a video or an Instagram story
- 16:15Speaker 1: after the premiere of this episode, saying how surprised he
- 16:18Speaker 1: was by the Hallmark fan support and how disappointed everyone was.
- 16:22Speaker 1: I mean, he's a Hallmark actor. He's what he said
- 16:25Speaker 1: was obviously Austin dies with some secrets and so while
- 16:32Speaker 1: you won't be seeing me in the way you might
- 16:35Speaker 1: have wanted, you might be seeing me in some ways
- 16:38Speaker 1: you haven't expected, like flashbacks what Folly said, I have
- 16:41Speaker 1: to assume it's flashbacks. So okay, I don't think we've
- 16:44Speaker 1: seen the last of Marcus Rossner, but I will say
- 16:47Speaker 1: it is clear he is not the leading man of
- 16:51Speaker 1: this show.
- 16:52Speaker 2: Well, I think Bo Murkoff is.
- 16:55Speaker 1: No.
- 16:56Speaker 2: I think so too, And I'm gonna say brava to
- 16:59Speaker 2: the casting because these three dudes definitely look like brothers.
- 17:03Speaker 2: I think Bo Mierkoff is a real wowie's auie.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Oh me too. I think he's super cute.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Like you said, we have the opening title, and then
- 17:14Speaker 2: it is one year later in time and we have
- 17:18Speaker 2: views of the McMurray ranch again, and my husband was watching.
- 17:21Speaker 2: He goes, wow, this is a real knockoff of Yellowstone.
- 17:24Speaker 2: He's like, it looks the same way.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Every article is like Hallmarks. I'm a Shallowstone. I'm Baan
- 17:30Speaker 1: murdis Yellowstone. Yeahugh.
- 17:32Speaker 2: Missy wakes up. She's in bed alone and looks over
- 17:35Speaker 2: to a photo of her and Austin and there's a
- 17:37Speaker 2: ring band hanging from like a necklace.
- 17:39Speaker 1: Over their photo together.
- 17:41Speaker 2: Isabelle is downstairs looking through the mail and she gives
- 17:44Speaker 2: this huge sigh. Tough comes in for coffee into the
- 17:48Speaker 2: kitchen and he picks up the letter that Isabelle was
- 17:51Speaker 2: looking at and we see it's a notice of foreclosure.
- 17:55Speaker 1: And more great music plays in this scene. It is
- 17:57Speaker 1: You're Not Alone by Alison Russell and Brandy, which made
- 18:00Speaker 1: me want to open a Brandy Carlisle playlist. I gotta
- 18:03Speaker 1: tell you. We cut to Cash doing something angrily with
- 18:06Speaker 1: the rope and asks a ranch hand how Cash is doing,
- 18:12Speaker 1: and it would appear that Cash is not talking a
- 18:14Speaker 1: lot this ranch hand. I have a question for you. Okay,
- 18:18Speaker 1: did you ever hear him named? Never? He is not
- 18:22Speaker 1: listed in IMDb. Noticed he's in a number of scenes.
- 18:27Speaker 1: He has lines. There's a scene at the end of
- 18:29Speaker 1: the episode where he and all the lead young folk
- 18:32Speaker 1: are walking together. They never give him a name throughout
- 18:37Speaker 1: this episode that I can find, and I've got to say,
- 18:40Speaker 1: it's rubbed me the wrong way.
- 18:42Speaker 2: It's because he's a person of color. It's real glaring
- 18:45Speaker 2: because it's a person of color.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Now, Tough later in this episode will say ranch hands
- 18:49Speaker 1: come and go. That wasn't about this particular man. But
- 18:55Speaker 1: this guy's clearly part of the family, and so he's
- 18:59Speaker 1: a key part of Cash's riding team. I just give
- 19:02Speaker 1: him a game, please. I was all you had to
- 19:05Speaker 1: do was say, like, how's he doing, George? Yeah, totally, totally.
- 19:09Speaker 1: I agree. It bothered me too. Yep, you're not alone.
- 19:13Speaker 1: Missy approaches Cash and they have a bit of a
- 19:15Speaker 1: stilted conversation about the upcoming ride, and she says, no
- 19:17Speaker 1: one will blame you if he's not ready, and he disagrees.
- 19:21Speaker 1: She says, to do it for you, not for them,
- 19:23Speaker 1: and he says, around here, there's no difference. He's really
- 19:26Speaker 1: taken on the weight of keeping the ranch alive through
- 19:31Speaker 1: his writing. He asks if she wants to watch him ride.
- 19:35Speaker 1: It seems like a bit of a concession to her,
- 19:38Speaker 1: a little softening, and she hesitates but agrees and tosses
- 19:42Speaker 1: him his helmet and says, it's all mental now. And
- 19:45Speaker 1: I wonder if you had watched your husband die as
- 19:49Speaker 1: the result of a bull ride, would you ever want
- 19:52Speaker 1: to watch it again or is it just something you've
- 19:54Speaker 1: accepted as this is an incredibly dangerous job, and I
- 19:58Speaker 1: am aware that that was one of the risks.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Well, that's a good question, because at the end we
- 20:03Speaker 2: also learn that their dad died the same way, So
- 20:07Speaker 2: the mom is watching her sons do the same thing
- 20:10Speaker 2: her husband did and died that way.
- 20:12Speaker 1: So and the mom is much more hesitant than Missy is.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Oh sure, Tough sends in the ranch, had to help
- 20:20Speaker 1: Cash Cat gets on the ball and Missy joins Tough
- 20:22Speaker 1: at the gate to watch, and he asks if she's
- 20:24Speaker 1: giving him writing pointers, and she just says she needs
- 20:27Speaker 1: to feel like everyone is okay before she goes, and
- 20:30Speaker 1: Tough seems surprised that she's planning to leave, and she says,
- 20:33Speaker 1: you know, I've been restless, and I don't envy her
- 20:35Speaker 1: position as the daughter in law whose husband is no
- 20:38Speaker 1: longer alive and maybe feeling like you have a responsibility
- 20:43Speaker 1: to the family, but also like this isn't your home,
- 20:45Speaker 1: and m she's restless and her next big thing is
- 20:48Speaker 1: going to be a Jean's brand ambassadorship. She's Wow, the
- 20:51Speaker 1: next rodeo. I didn't see that coming. She says she
- 20:57Speaker 1: has to move on, and Tough insists that she's family,
- 21:01Speaker 1: and off goes Cash and doesn't make it the full
- 21:04Speaker 1: eight seconds, but everyone seems pleased with this ride. Closing
- 21:07Speaker 1: out the scene, Missy and Tough see isabel working the
- 21:09Speaker 1: ranch and they kind of comment about how she's going
- 21:14Speaker 1: to work herself into the ground, and Tough hand to
- 21:16Speaker 1: Missy the foreclosure notice, lets her know what's happening, and
- 21:19Speaker 1: then we cut to commercial That's right.
- 21:21Speaker 2: And then when I returned, Isabelle is getting out of
- 21:23Speaker 2: the tractor and Tough confronts her about working and then
- 21:26Speaker 2: about the foreclosure letter, and she tells him that she's
- 21:29Speaker 2: going to handle it like she always says, and they
- 21:31Speaker 2: have a nice moment here talking about how life is
- 21:33Speaker 2: supposed to work out, and we transition to the next
- 21:36Speaker 2: scene where Missy then confronts Isabelle Isabelle about the ranch
- 21:40Speaker 2: being in trouble, and Isabelle blows off Missy bit. Missy
- 21:43Speaker 2: asks if if she remembers how much they used to
- 21:45Speaker 2: talk after Austin's death, and Isabelle shares here that she's
- 21:50Speaker 2: been grieving and there are so many daily reminders about Austin,
- 21:56Speaker 2: and Missy wants to know if if she herself remains
- 22:00Speaker 2: to be like a daily reminder that Austin has gone,
- 22:03Speaker 2: and Isabelle assures her that they don't expect Missy to
- 22:07Speaker 2: give up her life for their family.
- 22:09Speaker 1: So this seems to be the only one who feels
- 22:10Speaker 1: that way quick frankly.
- 22:12Speaker 2: Right, but it's a real like one eighty at the
- 22:14Speaker 2: end here.
- 22:15Speaker 1: But yeah, on the way to the rodeo, Missy spots
- 22:19Speaker 1: something off to the side of the road and pulls
- 22:20Speaker 1: off at the Canyon Grocery because she recognizes the truck
- 22:23Speaker 1: and trailer. Out of the grocery store comes Valeria, and
- 22:26Speaker 1: Missy is shocked to see her. And by the way,
- 22:28Speaker 1: she looks great in this rodeo queen outfit, that's what
- 22:31Speaker 1: I'm calling it approaches. Valaria says, what are you doing here?
- 22:34Speaker 1: And we learn in this moment that Valeria and Missy
- 22:37Speaker 1: were best friends and Valeria has not been in touch
- 22:40Speaker 1: since she rode off into the dust at Austin's request.
- 22:46Speaker 1: Vlaria says she has her reasons and says, tell Isabelle,
- 22:50Speaker 1: I miss her, and Missy says, if that were true,
- 22:52Speaker 1: you'd tell her yourself. And I just wonder, why is it,
- 22:55Speaker 1: Missy saying what were your reasons? What could have been
- 22:58Speaker 1: so important? Where were you going? I just don't know
- 23:01Speaker 1: why you don't push this further, Yeah, because I think
- 23:04Speaker 1: in real life people would follow up with questions like
- 23:07Speaker 1: what the hell are you talking about? Where have you been?
- 23:09Speaker 1: And why are you back?
- 23:10Speaker 2: Yeah, well she's back because she's riding again.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Or what does she do? She does something with barrels. Yes,
- 23:18Speaker 1: I don't. You're a writer. I don't know what that means,
- 23:20Speaker 1: do you. It's kind of like an obstacle course situation. Okay,
- 23:25Speaker 1: all right, so now you're apologizing. I'm not trying to
- 23:27Speaker 1: diminish this mean either I can describe it. Okay. Next
- 23:33Speaker 1: we show or that.
- 23:34Speaker 2: It says that they're at the Boulder Rocky Mountain Rodeo
- 23:38Speaker 2: and Missy approaches a man named mister Wooten.
- 23:41Speaker 1: It's JB.
- 23:42Speaker 2: Wooten, we saw him earlier. She pitches him on being
- 23:45Speaker 2: the new brand ambassador for his Gaen company, and he
- 23:47Speaker 2: tells her that the job's at Houston, but she's all in.
- 23:50Speaker 2: And I'd like to tell you that to be a
- 23:52Speaker 2: brand ambassador, you do not let need to live in
- 23:54Speaker 2: the city.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Seriously, it's all on the internet and nobody's actually taking
- 23:59Speaker 1: the stage. Photos we will see later, but yes, exactly,
- 24:03Speaker 1: photographers and every city man. Next we are.
- 24:06Speaker 2: Introduced to Janine and her dad Hank. They're hanging out
- 24:11Speaker 2: and Cash and isabel joins them, and Hank tells isabel
- 24:15Speaker 2: he's concerned about how she's doing. He goes on to
- 24:17Speaker 2: say that the McMurray ranch and bull riding are the
- 24:20Speaker 2: hallmark of their community and really wants to see Cash
- 24:23Speaker 2: out there writing, and he tells.
- 24:25Speaker 1: Them that JB.
- 24:26Speaker 2: Wooten is really interested in meeting Cash and maybe sponsoring him,
- 24:31Speaker 2: and Isabelle is fully annoyed at this conversation. She says
- 24:35Speaker 2: her son is not for sale, but Cash sitting there
- 24:37Speaker 2: is like, well, the money will help the ranch out,
- 24:41Speaker 2: so he's into it.
- 24:43Speaker 1: Yeah. I have to say that I was a little
- 24:45Speaker 1: slow on the uptake and didn't understand until later in
- 24:48Speaker 1: the episode Isabelle's reluctance to get a sponsor for Cash.
- 24:52Speaker 1: I understand it now, but I was like, what's her problem? Like,
- 24:57Speaker 1: if he's writing, why not get him sponsored? I get
- 24:59Speaker 1: it right, But we cut to Missy taking photos with
- 25:02Speaker 1: a young cowgirl whose uncle hits on her and the
- 25:06Speaker 1: uncle is very cute. Missy get it, and we learned
- 25:10Speaker 1: that Janine is a mean girl and she's talking to
- 25:13Speaker 1: some other girls saying, look at the grieving widow flirting
- 25:15Speaker 1: at the same rodeo or husband died at and In
- 25:18Speaker 1: calls Tough to call her on it. We learn that
- 25:21Speaker 1: some sour grapes here. Tough says her dad's been pushing
- 25:24Speaker 1: her to marry a mc murray. He wants a part
- 25:26Speaker 1: of that McMurray legacy. And Missy took Janine's place, and
- 25:31Speaker 1: apparently she's got her eyes on Cash now that Austin's gone,
- 25:34Speaker 1: and Janine shoots a low blow it Tough when she says, well,
- 25:37Speaker 1: Cash is the only one left because you're off chasing cowboys,
- 25:39Speaker 1: and she doesn't say it in a nice way, and
- 25:42Speaker 1: he says, oh, they chase me, darling, which is more
- 25:44Speaker 1: than I could save for you. And incomes Tough as
- 25:48Speaker 1: my number one, you know, me of the week the week, Yes,
- 25:53Speaker 1: with a burn. I loved it. I love it.
- 25:56Speaker 2: Next we have Hank and Jab and they're trying to
- 25:59Speaker 2: wheel and deal with, you know, sponsoring Cash, and Cash says, hey,
- 26:04Speaker 2: I'll prove myself I'm a worthy rider. And but Jamie's
- 26:07Speaker 2: a little bit anxious to you know, he he wants
- 26:11Speaker 2: to see him ride before he decides to sponsor him.
- 26:14Speaker 2: Mm hmm, I mean anybody would.
- 26:17Speaker 1: No, Yeah, I think that's reasonable. Yeah. Isabelle's putting the
- 26:21Speaker 1: brakes on all of this though, and we in the
- 26:23Speaker 1: next scene, it seems that we're back at the ranch.
- 26:26Speaker 1: Mm hmmm, we see she does. Yeah, it's kind of
- 26:30Speaker 1: where they drive in and out to Boulder every day
- 26:32Speaker 1: of the rodeo. I you know, so it seems that way.
- 26:36Speaker 1: We see shots of Austin's writing memorabilia and Isabelle's having
- 26:39Speaker 1: a moment and she sweeps a pile of buckles to
- 26:41Speaker 1: the floor, and we see Valeria in the room behind her.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Both women look a little shocked, and we cut to commercial.
- 26:50Speaker 2: When we come back, Isabelle and Valeria talking and Missying
- 26:54Speaker 2: Tough walk in. Surprised to see Valeria there. Tough asks
- 26:59Speaker 2: why she left, and Valaria says she can't talk about it.
- 27:02Speaker 2: It's plain and simple. I can't talk about it. Isabel's
- 27:05Speaker 2: cold to Valeria's offer to help, but then she welcomes
- 27:08Speaker 2: her to stay in her old room if she wants to.
- 27:11Speaker 2: So it was interesting to me here that Isabelle is.
- 27:16Speaker 1: Not happy with Valeria. Mm hmm. And I was like,
- 27:20Speaker 1: how does Valeria's roll like?
- 27:22Speaker 2: She was Missy's best friend, but she lived there at
- 27:25Speaker 2: the ranch with them, like she had a friendship with Isabelle, Like, well.
- 27:30Speaker 1: She was a ranch hand too, she worked at the
- 27:32Speaker 1: ranch as well.
- 27:34Speaker 2: Oh, I didn't realize she was like an actual official
- 27:38Speaker 2: ranch hand.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Because later in the episode, Tough is talking to Valeria
- 27:43Speaker 1: and he's like, ranch hands come and go, but you
- 27:45Speaker 1: were never just that's to us. So I'm not sure
- 27:49Speaker 1: that every ranchand lives in the house, but I think
- 27:50Speaker 1: a ranch hand who was also the best friend of
- 27:52Speaker 1: your son's wife maybe gets a space in the house. Yeah,
- 27:56Speaker 1: but I don't think we fully know what she was
- 27:58Speaker 1: to them.
- 27:59Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm not really sure, you know, I gotta tell you.
- 28:01Speaker 2: Like when the episode first started, I thought she was
- 28:03Speaker 2: somebody's girlfriend, yeah, or almost even like a little sister.
- 28:07Speaker 2: It was kind of unclear to me her place until
- 28:10Speaker 2: she and Missy have that interaction outside the market.
- 28:13Speaker 1: I didn't realize she was Missy's best friend, right we
- 28:16Speaker 1: cut to an outside scene. I just have to say
- 28:18Speaker 1: I am exhausted by their schedule events the Thornio weekends.
- 28:21Speaker 1: They're so busy. I'm like a long day and night.
- 28:24Speaker 1: I know.
- 28:25Speaker 2: I was like, do they ever just like kick back
- 28:26Speaker 2: and watch TV? Now they're having enough fire outside like.
- 28:29Speaker 1: Jeez tough to playing guitar, and he says he's not
- 28:34Speaker 1: asking Valaria more about where she's been because it's not
- 28:36Speaker 1: his business. And I beg to differ, but all right,
- 28:39Speaker 1: I'm nosy. I gotta know. Missy tell's tough about the
- 28:41Speaker 1: test shoot she has coming up and about her plans
- 28:44Speaker 1: to move to Houston, and he does not want her
- 28:47Speaker 1: to tell Cash because he thinks it's gonna mess with
- 28:49Speaker 1: him mentally. He says he's writing so well because Missy's there,
- 28:53Speaker 1: and she says, I can't stick around just for cash.
- 28:57Speaker 2: Hank and Isabel are talking in the stable about their
- 29:01Speaker 2: talk with JB, and Isabel tells Hank he needs to
- 29:06Speaker 2: back off, but he's worried about her losing the ranch
- 29:09Speaker 2: and how the whole town depends on their family, and
- 29:12Speaker 2: she says, adamantly, this company has owned us for too
- 29:16Speaker 2: long and I'm not giving them another son. So Hank
- 29:21Speaker 2: then proposes another option to help them out of debt,
- 29:25Speaker 2: but she warns, I'm sorry. He warns Isabelle that she
- 29:28Speaker 2: won't like it.
- 29:29Speaker 1: We cut back to Cash drinking around the fire. Missy
- 29:31Speaker 1: approaches him and they talk about him having trouble Sleeping.
- 29:34Speaker 1: I have it in my notes that when you Need
- 29:36Speaker 1: It by Tanil Towns is playing in the background. Cash
- 29:39Speaker 1: tells her he's going to be a great writer because
- 29:41Speaker 1: writer is the only time his brain is quiet and
- 29:44Speaker 1: he feels like he has nothing to lose. It's fully
- 29:46Speaker 1: focused when he's writing. Missy reminds him there's a ranch
- 29:49Speaker 1: toost people who love him. And they're really sharing a moment.
- 29:53Speaker 1: She says, a happy bull writer is a safe bull writer.
- 29:56Speaker 1: They both agree that they're happy. Now they share another look.
- 29:59Speaker 1: They almost kiss. It was real disappointed that they didn't,
- 30:02Speaker 1: because at that moment was nice. And then Missy says
- 30:06Speaker 1: we should go big day and off she goes. It
- 30:08Speaker 1: breaks you a commercial.
- 30:09Speaker 2: But Missy comes back and she's modeling at her test
- 30:12Speaker 2: shoot in Houston.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Wait is she in Houston? I don't think the test
- 30:17Speaker 1: shoot was in Houston because I don't think she could
- 30:19Speaker 1: have gotten back. I wondered the same thing, but I
- 30:21Speaker 1: think the test shoot was local.
- 30:23Speaker 2: So she's, you know, modeling the jeans and uh, I
- 30:28Speaker 2: don't know who an assistant or photographer or whatever. It's like, hey,
- 30:31Speaker 2: do you want to see this mock up? The campaign
- 30:33Speaker 2: and it features Austin Legends Never Die, and then there's
- 30:37Speaker 2: like a little picture of Missy and her jeans, and
- 30:40Speaker 2: you could see Missy's disappointed.
- 30:43Speaker 1: I hate this so much. I didn't have to tell you.
- 30:45Speaker 1: Tell me why this giant photo of Boston and the
- 30:49Speaker 1: tiny picture of her, like I would feel so diminished
- 30:54Speaker 1: in this moment. Who's selling the jeans here my dead husband,
- 30:58Speaker 1: which is kind of a gross thing. I don't know
- 31:00Speaker 1: Legends Never Die. I would need to ask permission to
- 31:04Speaker 1: use that. But maybe this goes back to Isabelle's thoughts
- 31:07Speaker 1: about them owning her family. Anyway, I just didn't like it.
- 31:10Speaker 1: I thought it really diminished Missy in this moment. I agree.
- 31:13Speaker 1: Back at the ranch, they're hurting cattle into a pen
- 31:17Speaker 1: and Valeria rides up to Tough and this is when
- 31:20Speaker 1: he kind of gives her a hard time. He says,
- 31:22Speaker 1: ranch hands come and go, but you were always more
- 31:24Speaker 1: than that. And in spite of what he said in
- 31:27Speaker 1: the last scene, he's now trying to get information from her,
- 31:30Speaker 1: but she says she's protecting him, and then she asked
- 31:33Speaker 1: why he's not bullfighting anymore, and he blames himself for
- 31:35Speaker 1: Austin's death and do do Google alert? Are you ready? Yes?
- 31:40Speaker 1: I did not know what bullfighting was. I pictured like
- 31:44Speaker 1: a Spaniard with a little red flag like toro toro, right,
- 31:50Speaker 1: that is a bullfighter, but a bullfighter also in bull riding.
- 31:57Speaker 1: Excuse me. According to Wikipedia, the primary job of the
- 32:01Speaker 1: rodeo bullfighter is to protect a fallen rider from the
- 32:04Speaker 1: bull by distracting it and providing an alternative target for
- 32:08Speaker 1: the bull to attack, whether the rider has been bucked
- 32:11Speaker 1: off or jumped off.
- 32:13Speaker 2: Yeah, Like, haven't you seen like where they kind of
- 32:15Speaker 2: look like a clown or whatever and they, yeah, come out.
- 32:18Speaker 1: I just didn't realize that was called a bullfighter, and
- 32:20Speaker 1: I also didn't realize that was his role. Yeah, so
- 32:23Speaker 1: they were like, let's give him all the information anyway.
- 32:26Speaker 1: That's why he's not doing it anymore because he feels responsible,
- 32:29Speaker 1: got it, got it?
- 32:30Speaker 2: Yes, he does feel responsible for Austin's death because I
- 32:34Speaker 2: guess he didn't jump in there quick enough to distract
- 32:38Speaker 2: from how.
- 32:38Speaker 1: Much there's a bull weigh two thousand pounds. I know
- 32:41Speaker 1: it's not a perfect system exactly.
- 32:44Speaker 2: The next thing, we're at the ropin room, and I
- 32:46Speaker 2: think it's called the rope and room because the outside
- 32:49Speaker 2: exterior said the rope and Room. And then when they
- 32:52Speaker 2: we go inside, Tough is on stage playing in his band,
- 32:56Speaker 2: but the sign behind them says something about the rodeo.
- 32:59Speaker 2: So I think it's called the ropin room. This bar
- 33:02Speaker 2: that they're at, Okay, probably doesn't matter. I don't think
- 33:04Speaker 2: it's gonna be like the point, you know, to going
- 33:08Speaker 2: home or whatever. People are dancing, Toughs bands playing. Missy
- 33:11Speaker 2: walks in and Valeria pops out and says like, thanks
- 33:14Speaker 2: for helping with Isabelle and Missy and Valeria kind of
- 33:18Speaker 2: like rekindled our friendship here very quickly, or a shot
- 33:21Speaker 2: of bourbon.
- 33:23Speaker 1: Valeria then pulls Cash onto.
- 33:24Speaker 2: The dance floor, and mean girl Janine comes up to
- 33:28Speaker 2: Missy and she starts talking about Cash dancing with Valeria,
- 33:32Speaker 2: and then cute guy Gus swoops in to save Missy
- 33:35Speaker 2: from this conversation and they start to dance. Valeria and Cash.
- 33:39Speaker 2: We get a scene between them and they're talking about
- 33:41Speaker 2: Missy and Valaria says to him like, basically, you better
- 33:46Speaker 2: make your move on Missy before it's too late. And
- 33:50Speaker 2: right after this, some dude hits on Tough, you know,
- 33:53Speaker 2: like some fan from the stage mentions, you know, hey
- 33:56Speaker 2: used to be like in the rodeo or whatever. We
- 33:59Speaker 2: need more guys like you. This is about representation here
- 34:04Speaker 2: in this scene.
- 34:06Speaker 1: Yeah, but they flashed on that guy a couple of
- 34:08Speaker 1: times in the audience. Oh yeah, prior to him approaching.
- 34:13Speaker 1: They flashed on him clearly a couple of times. And
- 34:18Speaker 1: there is an actor named Vasilios Philipacchus who plays a
- 34:22Speaker 1: character named Julian Carros, who I think this might My
- 34:26Speaker 1: guess is this is not the last we're going to
- 34:27Speaker 1: see of this guy, Okay, is what I'm saying.
- 34:32Speaker 2: We see Janine. She asks Cash to dance and he
- 34:35Speaker 2: declines so polite.
- 34:37Speaker 1: Politely I thought, but it pisses her off.
- 34:40Speaker 2: And then she tells him a secret she had heard
- 34:42Speaker 2: from JB. And it's pretty obvious that she's referencing Missy
- 34:47Speaker 2: and the whole test shoot thing for the genes and
- 34:50Speaker 2: all of that.
- 34:51Speaker 1: Yeah. Cash then approaches Missy and I gotta say, these
- 34:55Speaker 1: two have a ton of chemistry, fall into this like
- 35:00Speaker 1: slow dancing position that feels so natural, and I just look,
- 35:04Speaker 1: I'm into it. I gotta say. I mean it's complicated,
- 35:07Speaker 1: but I'm not not into it. He seems not okay,
- 35:10Speaker 1: Missy can tell, and he starts saying, I never liked
- 35:12Speaker 1: writing as a child. I only did it because Austin
- 35:15Speaker 1: did it. But he says he rides like he's got
- 35:17Speaker 1: nothing to lose, and now it's really true because she's
- 35:21Speaker 1: leaving apparently, and he burns. She says it's too hard
- 35:24Speaker 1: to be here, and he talks into her hair. She
- 35:27Speaker 1: gets really close and it's really intimate. I don't know
- 35:30Speaker 1: if you noticed. I did not, and he says, you're
- 35:33Speaker 1: just scared and scene I'll go back and watch it.
- 35:36Speaker 1: Like they fit together really nicely. I'm fit together really nicely.
- 35:41Speaker 1: Like the level at which he's able to talk. At
- 35:43Speaker 1: the hair moment, I just bo okay, I'm riding for
- 35:49Speaker 1: Bow at this point, Oh, you're riding for I like it.
- 35:53Speaker 1: I like it. I think that should be already this week. Yes,
- 35:58Speaker 1: I love it.
- 36:00Speaker 2: And next thing we see Isabel. She's on the phone
- 36:02Speaker 2: talking about selling the ranch. So this must be the
- 36:05Speaker 2: idea that Hank was going to give her. Valaria hmmm, no,
- 36:11Speaker 2: just putting those together. Yeah. Valeria over here and confronts
- 36:17Speaker 2: Isabel and she says, I I have other ideas, other
- 36:21Speaker 2: than selling the ranch that can help save it, and
- 36:24Speaker 2: she talks about like farming ideas, but I mean that's
- 36:28Speaker 2: as far as it goes, and then Isabelle agrees, just okay.
- 36:33Speaker 1: Yeah, Missy and Valaria pull up to the rodeo. This
- 36:37Speaker 1: is like the longest rodeo ever and even though I
- 36:40Speaker 1: know it's just a weekend, and Missy tells Valaria she's
- 36:43Speaker 1: leaving for Houston and she's ready to go. But right
- 36:46Speaker 1: in this moment, Tough runs up and he's like Cash nos,
- 36:48Speaker 1: And so they run over and Cash is clearly in
- 36:51Speaker 1: a state. No one wants him to ride like this
- 36:53Speaker 1: when he's not focused. Earlier, Tough had said he knew
- 36:57Speaker 1: something wasn't right with Austin when he rode his final ride,
- 37:00Speaker 1: and nobody wants Cash to go in and write a
- 37:03Speaker 1: ball when his head is not fully in the game.
- 37:06Speaker 1: They say he's got something to prove. He says he
- 37:08Speaker 1: has something to prove. He says it should have been him,
- 37:11Speaker 1: and Isabelle gets really in his face. She says she
- 37:14Speaker 1: won't watch him do this, and Tough wants him to
- 37:19Speaker 1: give up too, but since he knows he won't, Tough
- 37:21Speaker 1: comes back on as his Bullfighter.
- 37:25Speaker 2: So I gotta say I thought Nancy Travis was great
- 37:28Speaker 2: in this scene when she grabs him by the shirt, like,
- 37:31Speaker 2: I thought that was quite moving. Agree, I thought that
- 37:36Speaker 2: was good. And then actually in that moment I was like,
- 37:41Speaker 2: I was like, I really like that. Homework now has
- 37:44Speaker 2: two series with like this lead metriarch right, who are
- 37:50Speaker 2: like bad bitches.
- 37:52Speaker 1: Mm hmmm, I kind of enjoying it.
- 37:55Speaker 2: Yeah, Anyway, the announcer comes out, I guess that's Hank
- 38:00Speaker 2: right is hand announcing Cash too. Cash is prepping to ride,
- 38:03Speaker 2: but he's got a lot of anxiety, a lot of anger.
- 38:07Speaker 2: You can tell he's like not his head's not in it.
- 38:11Speaker 2: Missy jumps in and she gives him this pep talk
- 38:13Speaker 2: and Cash mentions here that it would be fitting to
- 38:17Speaker 2: die the same way that Austin and his dad had died.
- 38:20Speaker 2: I said it earlier, like this is the first time
- 38:22Speaker 2: that we hear that his dad died this way.
- 38:26Speaker 1: Missy.
- 38:26Speaker 2: He does a good job at hyping him up. He rides,
- 38:29Speaker 2: he makes it to eight seconds and then he gets
- 38:31Speaker 2: thrown off and everyone's excited.
- 38:33Speaker 1: He gives Missy a huge hug.
- 38:36Speaker 2: They come out of the arena and GBI's there to like,
- 38:39Speaker 2: I'm interested in you, now let me sponsor you. And
- 38:43Speaker 2: then Tough and Isabel are happy and they everybody's happy.
- 38:47Speaker 2: That cash did the job well.
- 38:49Speaker 1: But JB says, if you do that again in Cheyenne
- 38:52Speaker 1: in five months, then we can talk. Oh I miss
- 38:56Speaker 1: that part, but he's not quite ready. He's like, in
- 38:58Speaker 1: half a year, if you can replicate this experience, they
- 39:02Speaker 1: have some of my money, my bad.
- 39:04Speaker 2: And now Cheyenne like they.
- 39:08Speaker 1: Brooks Sauce, uh huh beaches of cause doesn't. Isn't that
- 39:13Speaker 1: song about a bull rider who does not come home? Yes?
- 39:18Speaker 1: It is. Yeah. The key here to me, Yes, that's
- 39:21Speaker 1: a great reference is that maybe they've bought some time
- 39:25Speaker 1: before needing to rely on JB's money. So they've got
- 39:28Speaker 1: this like countdown is on make money their own way.
- 39:32Speaker 1: I see, Oh, I see hmm. But also I was
- 39:35Speaker 1: like five months it's a long time for this failing farm.
- 39:37Speaker 1: They need his money sooner than that. Well, you know,
- 39:39Speaker 1: it's so funny.
- 39:40Speaker 2: I'm like, could it go the way of Ozarks where
- 39:42Speaker 2: they're planting poppy seeds and then selling heroin.
- 39:45Speaker 1: I doubt that's what's gonna happen. On this show.
- 39:48Speaker 2: You know, it's all these other shows are emerging together
- 39:51Speaker 2: now to this Sark show.
- 39:53Speaker 1: So outside, we see a shot of Missy, Tough, Cash, Valeria,
- 39:58Speaker 1: and the unnamed ranch hand and walking together, and in
- 40:01Speaker 1: the background we see the bearded dude from earlier in
- 40:03Speaker 1: this episode looking on. Valeria is clearly nervous by him.
- 40:08Speaker 1: He's got something to do with our secrets, but we
- 40:10Speaker 1: don't know what. Mm hmm. Eric Church is hard on
- 40:12Speaker 1: fireplays in the background, and that scene cuts.
- 40:15Speaker 2: Out, and then our final scene of the episode. Isabelle,
- 40:19Speaker 2: Valeria and Missy are riding horses through the ranch and
- 40:23Speaker 2: they're talking and she tells them she wants to fight
- 40:27Speaker 2: for the ranch, but she can't do it alone. And
- 40:30Speaker 2: here she lays the guilt on real thick to Missy
- 40:32Speaker 2: about staying on as Cassh's coach, and I'm going to
- 40:37Speaker 2: tell you that being a brand ambassador and being a
- 40:40Speaker 2: coach you can do both. Dumb anyway, It was a
- 40:45Speaker 2: real change of tone, I thought from isabel here, because
- 40:50Speaker 2: earlier in the episode she's like, you don't have to
- 40:52Speaker 2: stay here. But then she sees how well Cash reacts
- 40:55Speaker 2: to Missy's pep talk and then she's like, you need
- 40:57Speaker 2: to stay on as his coach. Well, we're never going
- 40:59Speaker 2: to get this messy, you know what I mean? Yes,
- 41:03Speaker 2: And then she tells the two of them that she
- 41:05Speaker 2: needs them and basically like asks them to do this
- 41:08Speaker 2: life together as a family.
- 41:10Speaker 1: Also, I want to say, from the brand Ambasater's standpoint,
- 41:12Speaker 1: if you are a denim brand that is in the
- 41:17Speaker 1: rodeo scene, wouldn't be best to sell your jeans while
- 41:20Speaker 1: someone is actively working in the rodeo, Like, look at
- 41:23Speaker 1: what she's wearing while she's coaching this prize winning bull
- 41:25Speaker 1: rider one hundred percent not standing in a studio.
- 41:30Speaker 2: Let me ask you, what do you think the whole
- 41:33Speaker 2: mystery is with Valaria?
- 41:34Speaker 1: Do you have any idea? None. I'm not good at
- 41:37Speaker 1: guessing that sort of thing. Me neither.
- 41:39Speaker 2: And at first I was like, Oh, she's pregnant. She's
- 41:43Speaker 2: pregnant with Austin's baby, and that's why she was gone
- 41:45Speaker 2: for a year to have this baby. But I don't
- 41:47Speaker 2: think that's the case now because she moved back. I
- 41:49Speaker 2: doubt that's the kid.
- 41:50Speaker 1: But I wonder what her secret is, what's Austin's secret.
- 41:54Speaker 1: I know we've got another show. Look I don't want
- 41:56Speaker 1: to spend all season comparing these two shows. But we've
- 41:59Speaker 1: got kind of three women at the core of this show. Again,
- 42:03Speaker 1: we've got some secrets. Yeah, I have to say overall,
- 42:07Speaker 1: pilots are rough. I enjoyed this one and it left
- 42:10Speaker 1: me looking forward to more.
- 42:12Speaker 2: I will say that I, well, I have to watch
- 42:17Speaker 2: it for this, but I don't know.
- 42:20Speaker 1: If you don't know, if you keep going, I don't know. Okay,
- 42:25Speaker 1: it's got some work to do.
- 42:27Speaker 2: Yeah, all right, it's not like The Way Home. I
- 42:29Speaker 2: love the Way Home after the first episode. Same And
- 42:32Speaker 2: I know, like you said, we don't want to compare
- 42:35Speaker 2: the two, but yes.
