- 6:01Dan Schulz: Here's Lincoln Spencer from Simply Leak Detection.
- 6:05Lincoln Spencer: You know, I mean, it just depends on where you wanna spend your time.
- 6:08Lincoln Spencer: Some people have more time than money, and they're happy to dig up their yard.
- 6:12Lincoln Spencer: But I would say for most people, it's well worth the money to pay us to know exactly where to dig, saving a lot of time in digging and repair effort, but also just saving their landscape so they don't
- 6:25Lincoln Spencer: have to put everything back together again.
- 6:27Jennifer Davis: They mark the spot so you dig once instead of five times.

- 6:40Dan Schulz: It's Time for the Redmond History Minute where we share a piece of history, a tidbit, or some trivia about life in and around Redmond.
- 6:51Dan Schulz: Today's trivia question is: the building that became the Redmond Golf Links clubhouse in 1932 was originally what?
- 7:01Dan Schulz: And your choices are: A, a barn; B, the home of a Washington Supreme Court justice; C, a railroad depot; D, a one-room schoolhouse.
- 7:16Dan Schulz: And your timer starts now
- 7:19Jennifer Davis: Oh, man.
- 7:20Jennifer Davis: If it's that long ago, and it's a, it's a building that's still standing, I know it's a well-built building then.
- 7:27Jennifer Davis: And, uh, I'm gonna go ahead and guess...
- 7:31Jennifer Davis: I was gonna say schoolhouse, a one-room schoolhouse, but that seems a little small for a, a golf clubhouse.
- 7:37Jennifer Davis: So I'm gonna go ahead and choose C, a railroad depot.
- 7:43Jennifer Davis: Final
- 7:43Dan Schulz: you almost can't go wrong with either a barn or a railroad depot with trivia questions in this town.
- 7:50Dan Schulz: Unfortunately, you did in fact go wrong with that answer.
- 7:54Dan Schulz: The answer is B, the home of a Washington Supreme Court justice.
- 7:59Dan Schulz: The three-story house went up in 1889 for Justice William White and his wife Emma McRedmond White, the daughter of Luke McRedmond, the man Redmond is named after.
- 8:10Dan Schulz: And don't worry, we're not gonna let you forget it, but even more than that, the ghost of Luke McRedmond isn't gonna let you forget it.
- 8:17Dan Schulz: His spirit works his way into practically every story we do here it sat near the railroad depot and also served as the Hotel Redmond.
- 8:25Dan Schulz: Justice White died in 1914, and Emma ran it on her own until she lost it to foreclosure in 1932 during the Depression.
- 8:34Dan Schulz: That same year, it became the clubhouse for the Redmond Golf Links, the 18-hole golf course that eventually became the Redmond Town Center
- 8:50Jennifer Davis: Word is a custom sneaker boutique is eyeing a space near Redmond Town Center.
- 8:55Jennifer Davis: Think sneaker restoration, custom paint jobs, and heat press graphics, plus a wall of handpicked resale pairs.
- 9:03Jennifer Davis: The owner has apparently been running it out of a garage in Kirkland for two years, and the wait list finally got long enough to justify a real storefront.
- 9:12Jennifer Davis: None of this is confirmed.
- 9:13Jennifer Davis: We don't have a name, an address, or an opening date.
- 9:16Jennifer Davis: So what's the first pair you'd bring in?
- 9:18Jennifer Davis: If you've got a guess or have heard something, head on over to our Facebook page at facebook.com/bestofredmond and drop it in the Redmond Rumor Mill Guesses post.
- 9:29Dan Schulz: And while you're at our Facebook page, find the Your Picks post and answer this question.
