Transcript
- 0:00You guys are ready. Go for it.
- 0:01>> Byron, uh, talk about your decision to
- 0:03come to Auburn.
- 0:04>> Um, a decision. Um, you know, Coach
- 0:05Golish has uh showed me his plan from
- 0:08from day one when he got there, got to
- 0:10USF, and now he came here and wanted
- 0:13wanted to build something again. And,
- 0:15you know, I I trust in that man fully.
- 0:17So, I can't wait to, you know, bring
- 0:19this place back to where it should be.
- 0:21You've
- 0:21>> been in offense in the system a few
- 0:23years now. What's something that, you
- 0:24know, maybe people don't know that they
- 0:25should know about this offense?
- 0:27>> We're going to score a lot of points.
- 0:29What is it about your fit in this
- 0:31offense that you've enjoyed with with
- 0:33coach Golish? I mean, I think now this
- 0:34is going to be what year four of you
- 0:35being his starting quarterback. What do
- 0:37you enjoy about that relationship and
- 0:39how that works?
- 0:40>> I enjoyed, you know, just being able to
- 0:42facilitate the ball, give give the ball
- 0:44to the playmakers, let them make plays
- 0:45and then, uh, given the opportunity,
- 0:47I'll I'll make plays, but I'm I'm a
- 0:49quarterback that's going to do whatever
- 0:50it takes to win, whether I got to run,
- 0:51whether I got to throw, um, whatever it
- 0:53takes to win. An
- 0:54>> opportunity to come play in the SEC. How
- 0:57excited are you for that?
- 0:59>> Stoked. I mean, uh, you know, you get
- 1:02the, uh, it was just the American or
- 1:05whatever conference. So, get being able
- 1:06to come into this conference and, uh,
- 1:09showcase the same skill, set, and
- 1:10ability and win. That's that's what I'm
- 1:13looking forward to.
- 1:14>> You as a quarterback, and, you know, I'm
- 1:15sure a lot of people have seen the
- 1:16highlights, but just how do you describe
- 1:18your your play and and your abilities?
- 1:20>> Uh, I describe it as, you know, just
- 1:23strictly a quarterback that's going to
- 1:24do whatever it takes to win. uh throw
- 1:26the ball 50 times a game, run the ball
- 1:2950 times a game, whatever, whatever it
- 1:30takes to win. That's my that's my
- 1:31mentality.
- 1:33>> You mentioned, you know, playmakers
- 1:34getting the ball to. A lot of the guys
- 1:36have already come from USF to to Auburn.
- 1:39How excited are you to be in an offense
- 1:40where it's going to be a lot of familiar
- 1:42faces, not only on the coaching staff,
- 1:43but guys you'll be throwing the ball to
- 1:44as well.
- 1:45>> I'm very excited, but I'm also very
- 1:46excited to, you know, uh get other get
- 1:48other pieces here. Um and then build
- 1:51build with the team that's already here,
- 1:52you know, uh looking forward to meeting
- 1:54those guys. uh and you know just just um
- 1:58hopefully being being accepted fairly
- 2:00quickly.
- 2:01>> You're familiar with the staff already
- 2:03obviously, but what stood out to you
- 2:04about their vision since they've taken
- 2:06over at Auburn? [snorts]
- 2:07>> Their vision uh
- 2:08>> about the program
- 2:09>> they they want to win and um I believe
- 2:13that they're going to do exactly what
- 2:14they uh said to me when they first got
- 2:17there and at US7 and now here. So I'm
- 2:20looking forward to it. for you when you
- 2:22went in the portal? Was there ever
- 2:23really a thought of going anywhere else
- 2:25other than following coach Galish to
- 2:26Auburn?
- 2:27>> Uh it was truly a decision between
- 2:30staying and coming here. Um you know,
- 2:32it's been home for past four years, but
- 2:34sometimes best thing is to move on and
- 2:37uh felt like that was the my best
- 2:38opportunity which is to move on. Byron,
- 2:41>> what would be your message to the Albert
- 2:42fans? What would you want to tell them?
- 2:44>> Man, pack out Jordan Hair Stadium and uh
- 2:47let's do it. We're Eagle.
