- Lynn: Hello and welcome to tonight's episode of the Occultinarium. We are the voices of the Occultinarium and tonight's wonderful hosts are Luigi: Luigi Amelie: Amelie Lynn: And Lynn. we'll bring you another tarot episode tonight. we are recording on the twenty-second of August twenty twenty six. and the decon we shall jump into is the first decon of Virgo, which is beginning tomorrow, the twenty third of August, and will last until the first of September. So now we're now in Virgo season. You guys have any Virgos close Luigi: Yeah. Lynn: at hand? Whoa. Luigi: My my partner is a Virgo rising and I think my I think it's my vertex. My vertex is in Virgo as well. Lynn: You have a Virgo rising right here as well. and my mom is a Virgo sun Luigi: Ooh. Amelie: I haven't had very good experience with Virgos in the Sun sign. It's Lynn: Ha ha ha ha ha. Amelie: been... So my dad, used to be a Virgo because he's not long alive, but yeah, he was difficult to deal with. Yeah, some other people that I've known in my past. it's very... Yeah, I don't want to say psychotic, it's Lynn: I mean I understand. Amelie: not because it's not because of what Virgos probably but that there's this, this tendency with Virgos of being like, what's his name Bateman in the Patrick Bateman. Yes, Lynn: Mm. Patrick Bateman? Yeah. American Psycho? Yeah. Amelie: there's kind of clean, perfect, you know, Lynn: Luigi's almost crying. Just like Shit talking, your partner no. Amelie: I mean, I find it interesting. I do I do find it interesting. He's Luigi: I'm sorry. No, but it's No no no no no. It's because Amelia I'm really sorry. No no no no it's his rising. Amelie: not a sunshine is he? There we go. Luigi: But it's it's only because I obviously I'm very sorry for the passing of your father, but because of how slow my brain is, when you said he used to be a Virgo, I was like, Lynn: Mm-hmm. Luigi: wow, is there a membership now that you can change your star sign if you don't like it? That's when I went like I'm so sorry. Lynn: Yeah, I mean yeah. I mean yeah, you could just put like click the button of subscribe to Sadereal version instead and then maybe you're s different or you going into the Vedic tr other Vedic traditions. Or you know, there's ways Amelie: There's ways. Luigi: Just change the time of your birth. Amelie: There's always a way. Lynn: well this starts great. loving it. So Luigi: But I I completely understand where Amelie is coming from 'cause I've also had a couple of Lynn: Yeah, I mean I do too. Yeah. Luigi: yeah, like love and abundance to all signs in their beauty, but I did have also my first share of clashes with a Virgo at least that I can think of. Lynn: I don't I I I mean I I tend to get along well with Virgos, I think. But Luigi: Mm. Lynn: also then there's this thing with my that my mom is a Virgo, so I I I grew up with it and of course there's clashes. yeah. Luigi: Hmm. I think you and I are supposed to, 'cause we're both earth signs, so we're all supposed to get along. Like we have the same principles. Lynn: Yeah. Yeah, kind of. Or at least we understand each other, even though we don't Luigi: Yeah, yeah, like Lynn: necessarily but we have there's this understanding of like, yeah. Luigi: Yeah. There is like a mutual comprehension of the long language and whatnot. Lynn: Mhm. Mm, yeah, I supp yeah, something. Something. Luigi: To some extent, to some extent. Lynn: Yeah. Amelie: I just find it very much when, because they're just so very specific and they like to do things their way and they're just very meticulous about it, as soon as you break that, this is when they Lynn: Mm. Mm. Amelie: go, it's not necessarily that they are crazy people, not, Lynn: if so then they're quietly 'cause they put a lot they like intro the you know, they pull it inside. And then Amelie: They are, what do they call it? They're functioning Lynn: It can be. But yeah. I feel like Dexter, like that all I mean, I don't know what the hell Dexter kind of sign is supposed to be and I'm actually not watching it actively, but just also because you have the psycho killer who's very, very clean. that just screams Virgo san to me. But with some Scorpio Amelie: Yes, that's very true. Lynn: something. But I don't know. We're just shit talking right now. It's okay. Amelie: That's very true. I do find, see, do find that personality, that personality Lynn: I can I can talk with Virgo rising. Luigi: New layers of interpretation for the eight of disks. Amelie: I find interesting. Like Dexter, Lynn: Yeah, yeah. Amelie: it's just very interesting personality in general. We're already off topic. yeah, okay. Lynn: Mmm. Mmm. Mmm. Mmm. No, we're on topic because we're talking about Virgo, we're super on topic, but yes, we can jump into the into the deck and and into the the tarot cards that are based off of it. I mean what can we say? I mean Yes, is a Virgo working? Amelie: This is a Virgo working, putting everything in order. There we go. That's it. We can finish now. Lynn: Yes. Yeah. I mean, we're coming from Leo season, right? And Leo is very much like extrovert, young energy, fire, presenting himself, being, on stage very open. And with Virgo, you're kind of more internalizing things. you have this energy of looking more at yourself and not being so much out in the limelight and with the the first stack here in a Virgo with the age of or the eight of disks. we can look at the decamic rulership because our one of the decanic rulers is the Sun and the the other one from the duplicity order is Mercury. Mercury being the ruler of Virgo. so we're having a yeah it it's a it's an interesting combination relationship there I feel Yeah, I mean with the eight, or with the first second, right, it's kind of internalizing processes and you going into that thing, the nitpicky thing that workers often get criticized for, but just being very able to focus on one thing or or or what they're doing and being really, really, well, meticulous and careful about it. Or careful is the right word, but being very meticulous and putting a lot of effort into making things perfect. if you're looking at the at the the Smith deck and the the Thoth deck, slightly different same the energy but slightly different in the way that they're being portrayed I'd say we're having this being very focused on your work. So we're having a worker here. in what we assume is their profession and he's complete she's he's away from the city, you know, he has his own little workshop and he's already crafted seven of these disks and now he's on the eighth one. completely what do you say? Sucked up into his work. Yeah. He's in the zone, that's right. And this ability to Amelie: He's in the zone. Lynn: be in the zone and really focus on a task and focus on something, with a lot of patience, that is I would say things, that is like the energy of that, or Decan or big big part of it. like you this working on something, working on something for a long time and then The thing that you're producing with it, right? The if you're looking at this one, we're having a tree. So basically the fruit that the tree produces or the fruit of your labor. And that takes time. It takes time, it takes effort, and you cannot rush it. To make something good and perfect, it needs time. So you have this idea of patience and waiting. Especially if you look at nature. You cannot ask a tree to grow faster, right? You cannot go out there and tell like an apple tree, I need the apples now. Come on. Right. It's not working. You just have to wait. Luigi: Yeah. Amelie: think we spoke about this before as well, this whole thing of being in the zone and when you kind of get sucked up into the work, you almost forget Lynn: Mm. Mm. Amelie: everything else, you're just in that moment. Lynn: Mm, mm. Luigi: Think it's since we were talking a little bit about Virgo and we can come back to it and expand when needed, but if we look at the energy shift, like I feel like Leo being a very celebratory energy, now the transition is to not necessarily stop the celebration, but now there is more what's the word that I'm looking for? There is an an invitation, I suppose, like I like to say a lot of times, to pick up where you left off if you left anything off previously. Like even if you look at the energy of the houses and I know that in astrology, like between the traditional methods and the modern methods, there is a lot of debate. But if we entertain the energy of the signs within the houses, 'cause some traditions do not do that, but let's entertain it for the sake of entertainment. Lynn: Mm-hmm. Luigi: if the fifth house was about pleasure, the sixth house would be more about service. So you had the opportunity to enjoy and rejoy of the pleasure within the season of Leo. And now like I said, I wouldn't say the party is over, I wouldn't say that that it's all downhill from here, but I would say now it's an opportunity for the individual to Lynn: Yeah. Luigi: re recenter themselves, to pick up on tasks or goals or learning, you know. I I see the the shift between pleasure Lynn: It's like the Saturday after the Friday, you know, Friday you go out and party and then on Saturday with Saturn ruling you kind of either picking up the work of stuff that you've left off during the week or or you know. Mm, yeah. Luigi: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I I think I think the I yeah, Amelie: I'll clean up after the party. Luigi: I I think I see it as well as you had the opportunity for pleasure. Now how are you how are you going to choose to be of service? that's one of the ways Lynn: Hm. It's Luigi: that I make sense of it. Lynn: Yeah. I mean when you look at the the zodiacle orders, then the s the signs following each other usually are of are very different from each other, often like the complete opposite or in a way opposing each other with certain traits and where the Leo is very outgoing and very more self about the self, an expression of the self, Virgo is much more humble and is not so concerned about the self so much. I the the Virgo is also is about the perfection of well, is about the perfection of self and also of the the perfection of others. Maybe the thing also with ver the Virgo love language being like I love you so I will make you better and some people don't like that because I'm I'm already good the way I am or or or whatever. I don't know. Yeah, I guess that's what Leo would say. Stop mingling. Amelie: That's what Leo would say. Lynn: Ha ha ha ha. Luigi: It's also like we're coming we're still in harvest season, but it's coming up it's gonna come Lynn: Yes. Luigi: up to the second harvest. So I think b whether it's direct or indirect, especially in the tough card, I think that growing tree is a sh a shadow. When I mean shadow I simply mean you know, a reflection of the harvest to come. Lynn: Mm. Mm. Yeah, I think like the in the Thoth as well you have that idea of meant like mentioned before, that things that grow take time to grow and you cannot rush the tree to grow. But it also has this idea of how if you just let nature do its thing, that it will be i it it creates these perfectly beautiful things. completely without our influence. So that energy is a bit more in the in the thoth. Well in the in the Smith it's like you're doing something, you're getting like in the work and you're being very meticulous. And a lot of Smith de Smith base decks they have that images of like people who are very infused or or in their work and yeah this being sucked up in the process and being very good at what they're doing while the thoth imagery is more about this letting letting earth do its thing, letting the the element just do what it does best without interfering so much. Luigi: Yeah, there is more of a natural focus or filter for the tough deck v versus Lynn: Mm. Luigi: the societal reflection or filter with the Smith deck. Lynn: Mm. Mm. What about the Luigi: What about Lynn: yeah, exactly. What about the other decks? The Hermetic if you have them, the Hermetic and the Golden Dawn. Amelie: So we got the hermetic here. They're quite similar to the Thoth deck. Lynn: Yeah. Amelie: And then the golden dawn is here. I Lynn: Hmm. Amelie: like the fact that you have the roses there at the bottom, but there's no roses here because obviously it's in the making. Lynn: Mm. You see it also on the hermetic that there's flowers on the bottom. Amelie: Mm-hmm. Lynn: Yeah. Luigi: I guess because when you think about the car cabalistically, the blossom would be towards the bottom of the tree versus the top of the tree. Lynn: Mm. Because it's inversed. Amelie: Yeah, that too. Luigi: Yeah. And Lynn: Yeah. Luigi: and I personally I do like the earthy colours of the Golden Dawn deck that you have there, Amelie. Amelie: It's the brown is supposed to be the mixture of the three... the three main colors like yellow, red and green? Is it blue or green? Blue. Yeah, of course, green is a mix of... of course. Welcome brain, please join me. Join in! Lynn: Blue. Blue it's gonna be. Blue, blue. Green is a mix of of yellow and yeah. Yellow and blue. Yeah. Mm yeah. Mm. Welcome. Joined Yeah. I it's to Luigi: Mm. Lynn: me it's interesting that it's so dark. 'cause i I just from the the thought deck, I f was it the the darkest one is the seven of is it the seven of disks, I think. Yeah. Luigi: Discs. Mm. Lynn: It's like the darkest or the the cup as it doesn't this one of the cups. But I think the seven of this is really, really dark. And and the eighth in it's being more positive quote unquote. being very bright, you know, solar infused colours, while in the Golden Dawn you're very earth based centered. It's dark, it's black. It's like fertile like the fertile earth. I mean the darker the Luigi: Mm-hmm. Lynn: soil, the more of fertility Amelie: Yeah, it's the womb. Lynn: you you feel, like. So the the the blackness makes sense, but I find it's interesting. It's it's very it's very contrasting in colours, Luigi: Yeah. Lynn: schemes here. Luigi: One fact about the title prudence, because you know, like if you Lynn: Mm-hmm. Luigi: reflect, not that I'm completely fond of the four virtues, not that I'm not fond, but they they do fall into more Christian mysticism that it's not Lynn: Hmm. Luigi: necessarily my ideal cup of tea. But obviously we know that in the sequence of the majors we have three of the four mentioned virtues, that being temperance, judgment, and fortitude in the form of strength, but the fourth virtue missing would be prudence. And it's funny that he appears as the title of this minor Arcana and this decan Because in fact I think if you if we read or if if we refer back to the Pictorial Key to the tarot, Waite himself he refers to the hermit as the possible Arcana that could embody or represent the virtue Prudence and this being the first deacon of Virgo, aka the hermit. So yeah, I j I'm not necessarily getting into into anything here, but it's just a point of reflection, like an interesting point of observation like the title of the decan reflecting the missing virtue that Wade explains is possibly embodied by the hermit that we're exploring right now. Lynn: That yeah, yeah, that's fascinating. I didn't I didn't know this. Also I'm so sure I'm not a virtuous person, is that what we're saying? You're not We're not saying that. But yeah, I I agree. your point of view. Amelie: I was looking at the circles here and I was like, why is there an English flag in the middle of them? But it's the Maltese Cross, Luigi: Yeah. Amelie: One can dream, right? Lynn: Can you any of you say anything more about the Maltese cross or the the meaning? Amelie: I find it strange Lynn: Sempre. Amelie: that it was there, but it's probably not. Luigi: well I guess in terms of the color scheme, we we have the pattern of white and red, which are chemically is very significant because red represents life and white represents death in alchemy. as well as s in in their own to their own accord, colors related to spirit, like white being the purity of spirit and red being the fiery aspect of spirit. and I think we came across this principle when we explore previous decons, possibly. We maybe we just mentioned it, but earth being a what's the word that I look for? Earth in a way it's the stage where all other elements act upon, including the quintessence element, the element of spirit. Lynn: Yeah, right. Luigi: so obviously there's probably more as to why we have the Multiscross in in the eight of disks in particular. It's possibly probably present in other in other disks card as well in that deck. Amelie: It should be present in the ace, I think. So I'll go there and have a look if it says anything about you. Lynn: We keep so Luigi: Ha ha. Lynn: Distractions Mm. Amelie: I honestly think that Lynn is right. do have some kind of what are they called some kind of mental illness because I can't do one thing at a time. have to do like many things at a time is annoying. Neurodivergence is that what they call it? Lynn: It's not an illness. Yes, it's a diver it's Luigi: It's a virtue in itself. Lynn: a virtue, it's not an illness. But yeah. But we are all mentally ill and unstable, so that's all right. Luigi: And that's why we need spirit support. But I think also, again, like I said, I I don't have that deck, but I will be willing to bet that the multis cross is previous if it's present in the eight of disks, it's probably present in other in other the minors. but having it since we're discussing the eight of disks, the other thing that comes to mind is the multi-cross present within the emperor from the Thoth deck. And I think I'm I mentioned that because of the solar influence of the decan of the Eight of Disks and the Sun obviously being exalted in the Emperor. And I suppose as well, Go for it! Lynn: Found the so no, I just I found the ace of pentacles. So if then that's the one in in the middle there's a cross. But if whether it's the Maltese Luigi: Mm. Well the cross Lynn: or not Luigi: w whether whether it's the multi-isola different cross, the cross in itself, it's both a solar and an earth earthly symbol, you know, especially not the Christian cross that has the elevated horizontal line, but the equal the equal cross that shows the equality and the balance and the harmony of the elements. Lynn: So the nine of ten do not have the cross and they have this design. So there's a different design of disks in these. Luigi: That's from the hermetic, isn't it? Lynn: yeah, I'm looking at the aromatic. We're looking at the d the the golden dawn. Our brains are not currently functioning today. That's at least for Amelie and me. So apologies. Amelie: The next card that we do have is the, they look the same, these pentacles, so they also Lynn: Yeah. Yeah. Luigi: Yeah, yeah. Amelie: have the cross there. Luigi: I think like there's probably more reason and meanings behind that particular present, but for the benefit of the people listening, I will focus on personally, I will focus on the mysticism behind the element of earth as the most distant element from spirit and yet the stage where spirit can actually act upon. Lynn: Yeah. Luigi: I hear a crying patient Lynn: Mm. I hope he gets edited out in the in the recording. Like yes not keep being picked up. I have a guest, a guest dog with me and he's of the impatient kind, and the whiny nature, so I can tend to have like a background concert here every now and then. Unfortunately. So Luigi: Bless. Lynn: but yeah, yeah, yeah. Amelie: You better have a whiny dog than a whiny human though. Lynn: Yeah, yeah, I suppose. Luigi: I'm gonna try and look for the color scale a little bit. let's see, let's see, let's see. So we should have some russet possibly or some orange or some violet, which is in the in the Thoth the violet of the flowers. Lynn: The Thoth we do. Yes, we do. And the thought. Luigi: and then let's see. Some maybe greenish grey, some plum. Plum and violet to me look exactly the same, Lynn: yeah, sorry. Luigi: honestly. Lynn: That's for the we know why it looks the same to you. but here we have the the the Amelie: We know why. Lynn: greyish green I suppose and the Luigi: Mm. Lynn: the stem of the tree and then actually more leafy greens here around there. And what I find Luigi: Mm. Lynn: interesting just to point out in the thoth deck, because it it seems that the tree is standing on a hill. It could be a hill, right? But it might make sense that it's a hill, both because earth, but also because of we know that the who else lives on a hill or a mountain. It's the hermit, right? The Virgo, Luigi: The Hermit. Lynn: the Virgo, represented the Virgo card. although he also goes down I mean, in a south he's more like a yeah, we c I mean we have to talk about it when you talk about it, I suppose, but in the thoth deck he's more like an underground hermit who's going down. while in the Smith we're having this Hermit pre position on top of the a mountain. So it's Luigi: Mm-hmm. Lynn: kind of polar opposites and how they depict it. which is very interesting. But yeah, you're very, very earthy and As expected. Luigi: Yeah. I have to emphasize. there are fascinating elements in every single card. But because we're talking about the eight of disks or pentacles in the specific, what fascinates me about this particular decan and minor and and or card, it's the it's gonna be hard to explain it properly, but basically the Kabbalistic wisdom of it. Because when we reflect on it's a number eight, and as we pointed out, eight is a number of Hod and it's a number of mercury, and Mercury not only rules Virgo, the hermit, but is also exalted in Virgo. So I think it's a very powerful card numerologically already. And then you have the application of the sun ruling the decan and obviously we know that the hermit within the tree of life travels towards or Depending what if you're climbing the tree, if you're descending the tree, but it is travelling to and or from Tiphareth fr to the realm of the sun. yes, exactly. Lynn: Hmm. Hmm. Yes. So Tiphareth There. And then you have Luigi: Yeah. Lynn: the Luigi: And and to travel to the number eight, it's exactly Lynn: The hermit is here. Luigi: horizontally down, like if you fall down on a on a Lynn: Yeah. Luigi: horizontal well no not horizontal, sorry, oblique line. Yeah yeah. Like yeah. Lynn: Diogenal? Yeah. Diogenal basically. You would go to the eighth. Luigi: You will go to the eight and you will cross the pan or otherwise known as the devil. So it really feels like in the eight of disks there is like this secret map or wisdom of nurturing self. getting to confront and not confront in a in a anger based manner but confront in a spiritual manner the dweller on the threshold which is one of the qualities of the pan card, you know, the the shadow and bring the shadow to the light or harmonize the light with the shadow and so forth. And that being a beautiful representation also, like always, of life and death and possibly being another metaphor. or symbol of the growing tree from the trop from the tough deck, which s Pixie Pamela channels more into the image of somebody hard at work on their purpose, on their passion through dedication. Lynn: Speaking of colours, you Luigi you picked a shirt the colour about the same colour as Hod today. So you're matching with our sephiroth It looks Luigi: I mean this is more red. Is that is that 'cause that Lynn: on screen it looks very similar, but you know. Luigi: yeah. This is more red, unless I washed it off on the washing machine a bit. But yeah, it was not intentional. It's laundry day. Lynn: Same. Yeah, either Geburah or your Hod it's fine. It's matching. We're saying it's matching. Yeah. Yeah. Amelie: always in Binah Luigi: Thank you. Yeah, I think that's where I am in my heart all the time. Yeah, that's a that's an interesting aspect of the card that I don't think gets enough exposure sometimes. And I think as well, like the the period that we're gonna explore together, like the eight, the nine, the ten of disks, I think it's a very intriguing one because Basically what I'm getting at and I don't know again how to ex explore it or detail it eloquently enough, but I'll try. Virgo every single season is special, every single season has its own gift. but now that we are in Virgo, there is a X factor component about it because one, this is the sixth sign of the zodiac and we know the number six is quite important not. more important than others but s there is there is the solar reference that solar influence and despite being the sixth sign it is also the sign that welcomes the equinox so the descent this the descent to into the underworld and I think the reason why I point that out is because possibly tarot, alchemy, magic, even astrology maybe myths everything that we do in a way can be summarized in the illusions mysteries the the one of the the meter the one that nobody knows about but possibly taro is an initi initiatory key to the the illusion mysteries which basically focus on the principle of life, death and rebirth. and Lynn: Mm. Luigi: now we are slowly approaching the death component of the formula. of the of the Lynn: Yeah, yeah. Luigi: journey of yeah of the whole of the whole story and I think it makes this particular season, if not this particular d decan, a very exciting one indeed to entertain. Lynn: Yeah, I'm looking forward to when you're going to actually do the Equinox deck in in the the ten of disks gonna be very well juicy. but yeah there's there's there's always something a bit different I guess about the the mutable signs leading into the the axes of the the equinoxes and the the solstices. and then the cardinal signs leading out of that energy. And with the the earth being the mutable earth this time around, the the dying earth in a way, or the the changing one or I mean so much about the it's just earth in itself, right? It's the thing that takes the dead bodies and makes you know, integrates it in itself and makes it into fertilizer for the next generations of life. And that is now with the the the death season approaching, as scary as it sounds, right? But as the death season approaching, like having that reflected or mirrored in the well, seasonal zodiac I guess is yeah, it's interesting. You can already see it, depending on where you live, I suppose, but some of the trees out there it's August, right? But some of the trees have already started to get a little bit more autumn-y. Most of them are still like, ooh, it's summer, you know, and they're like, ooh, green. But I've seen a few that are like, mm, I can feel it. It's autumn. Luigi: Yeah, here unfortunately with the heat wave our trees have been suffering. Like i th they've Lynn: Yeah. Luigi: been looking like autumn trees in the whole of the summer. Bless them. Lynn: Yeah, bless. Luigi: I wanted to rectify a pronunciation. I meant the Eleusinian I think it's for n I don't know how to pronounce it to be honest. But Eleusinian's mysteries, that's what I was aiming at with with the Virgo season and the hermit, just for FYI. Lynn: Thanks for that. Mm, mm, mm. Amelie: Why do they make all these words so difficult to pronounce? Luigi: I'm sure they're not they're not difficult to pronounce if you were Greek. like not no if you were d Greek, but you know. but yeah, it's just a difficulty for me I have a difficulty pronouncing many a words, even in Italian sometimes. it's just Lynn: Yeah. Luigi: it might be my tiny mouth shape or whatnot. but it was just in case people were getting confused, like Lynn: Where where's your Mercury in your chart, Luigi? Luigi: Aquarius. Amelie: Here she goes. Lynn: No no no. Well, unconventional ways of communicating, right? And speaking, so I don't Luigi: Yeah, yeah. Lynn: know. Amelie: I feel like I need to print out my birth chart and put it on the wall so I Lynn: Mm-hmm. Amelie: know the answer straight away. Yes. Maybe I'll learn a Lynn: If I ever ask you. It's like well, Amelie. Amelie: thing or two. I just can't remember things. Lynn: Yeah, right. You remember the things that are important to you, right? So it's like if I were to just Luigi: Well I've more three right now. Lynn: say a lot of the things about your chart or anybody w you know, and then it's like, I'm not gonna remember it. Like me the first time somebody looked at my chart, I didn't I just remembered his reaction to it. I don't remember anything of what he said because it was just very spontaneous. But now if I would be like, Okay, what does that and that mean? Or I was like, Why is it difficult for me to do this and this? What can I do? How is it reflected in the chart? Then I would listen probably and then I would probably remember. But if it's an overload of information. Mm. Amelie: Maybe it's also a little bit of denial because if you know why things are the way they are, then you also Lynn: Mm. Amelie: know that, well, now you know how they are. So now you need the solution. You can actually figure it out. But sometimes you're just Lynn: Mm. Hmm. Amelie: too lazy to do it or sometimes too scared to do it. It's a little bit of that, I think. I don't know. Lynn: Yeah, it might be. Now we got sidetracked. Now we got sidetracked. Luigi: huh. Amelie: I was literally, this is why I got quiet. I was like, my God, I'm sidetracking people again. We already established Lynn: Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's that's all right. That's all right. It's it's the day. Amelie: that I'm mentally ill, so it's okay. Lynn: Yes. Well Luigi: Virtuous virtuously ill. Lynn: That too. We're just we're just all kinds of jumble there. Okay, well what else what else should we should we tackle? We've talked about all of the cards a little bit, all of the four versions. the three well the thoth and the hermetic and the golden dawn are very similar. And we're having all the thoth people here, so we're having Seventy percent South, I think, thirty percent Smithonians. if there's anything more to add to to the Smith Luigi: Just an interesting detail. Lynn: Mm-hmm. Luigi: I think the theoretically the individual in the card it would Lynn: Hmm. Luigi: be a maze he, she, they they will be a mason and they're wearing the apron, which is one of the tools if you wanna call them that. Otherwise you can also call them the magical weapons of Hod the number eight. So it's nice how Lynn: Mm. Luigi: C included that in the images. but also I know, right? Lynn: So many Easter eggs. Hmm. Luigi: but also it's also interesting the choice of six perfectly aligned disks or pentacles rather. again six being the harmony and the balance of Tiphareth yeah. Lynn: Mm, mm. Thiphareth mm. Luigi: And s in separation you can count them as one and one or obviously map maps wise there's two separated, almost cabalistically indicating that the individual is at work to mature and temper and develop the wisdom, one could say. and another component and element of the card that I think emphasizes its power is again that relationship between eight, so Mercurial and the Sun. And whenever those two are together, again you can find power and strength and wisdom and beauty in every single combination of it. Like I'm Lynn: Mm-hmm. Luigi: not trying to isolate the 8 to disks. I'm just trying to focus on the image that is in front of me right now. But when it comes to the relationship between Mercury and the Sun, again it really matters because Mercury is the expression of the Sun or if you view the Sun as the center of the universe, as the source of life, Mercury is the ability to express, communicate, Give motion even if you want, if you will, to that source, to that light, to that first emanation. Yeah, yeah. Lynn: And Mercury is never far away from the sun. It's always like sh yeah, yeah, yeah. It's closest. also we're looking at the colours of what the the person is wearing. We're having reddish, maybe the s the colour of Hod as it's depicted in My Tree of Life in a word. Could be the colour of Hod the red leggings. And then this light blue shirt, my Malkuth and also the universe, the path of the the universe or the world are light blue. So the Malkuth being like the the very the earthy manifested sephiroth It could be that. It might not be. Luigi: Yeah, I'm not sure I'm not I'm trying to find yeah, I'm trying to find where this light blue color comes from from the colour Lynn: Hmm. Luigi: scale. at the moment I can't see it. But the red it's easily you know, it's a solar color to an extent 'cause Lynn: Hm. Luigi: it's the color of fire, but also the colour of Geburah which stands or sits or exists just above hold. Lynn: Hm. Just above it, yeah. I mean for me it would it may maybe that's completely not the case but th why that why he's blue, but it would make sense with both like the world being Luigi: I mean Lynn: the the earth and and Malkuth and all that. Although maybe it might not be it might not be true. Luigi: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Blue blue can also be relevant, although there is a specific shade of blue, I suppose, for hazard, but we know that Lynn: Mm. Luigi: in a tradition of the tree hold borrows energy from Chesed the the way that the spheres borrow energy from from one another, it's multi-layered and one layer of it, it's not just the energy bottle from above but also the energy bottle from the side and the energy bottle that's zigzag. So yeah, exactly. If you hold it up like Binah offers her water to Chesed and Chesed offers their water to Hod And the blue can be Lynn: Mm. Mm. Yeah. Yeah, because I shall she has it. Hmm. Mm, mm. Luigi: a possible reference to the donation. Donation Lynn: Hm. Luigi: is the right word to choose the emanation. Amelie: you Lynn: Donating donating energy to the Sephirot. Amelie: But also... red and blue is many times used as the opposites. If you're looking at politics, for example, you've got the red Lynn: Mm. Amelie: party and the blue party. And... Luigi: Thank you for Amelie: Yeah, exactly. Lynn: Mm-hmm. Amelie: And then he's wearing both of them, so Lynn: Yeah. Amelie: he's using both of the different sides. Lynn: Mm. Amelie: into what he's making. I guess this is why he has to work so slowly and meticulously because it's almost a little bit of the temperance in there. He's like taking Lynn: Yeah, I was just thinking. Amelie: a little bit of both and making it into a thing. Which you have to have that temperance. Lynn: Also find another factor that could be brought a bit more into light I think was touched upon a little bit, but the fact that in this depiction he is sitting in his workshop quite on the outside, I would think, on the outside of the city. And that is reflection of both of the well, Virgo in a way can be a little bit pushed to the outside as well, or having like either seeking exile or being exiled and we're having the same with the hermit, right? Who's also on the outskirts or in exile or chosen exile to do his what he's doing, his working. And the idea that I'm just running my head on thoughts, right? But the idea that in order to be able to focus on something the way that this person is doing it w it wouldn't serve to do it in the bustling of a city, in the middle of a marketplace, where things like going f front and right and back and centre in order to really focus on something meticulously, you should seek away from humanity, seek away from where the the centre is and and go a little bit into exile to Get your shit done. it's it's Luigi: Yeah. Lynn: it's practical, right? I mean we also know this. I mean if you really want to read a book, if you really want to study something, you usually like to seclude yourself or seclude yourself for example in libraries where everybody is just like kind of focused on something. So you can get into the focus zone, right? I used to do that a lot when I was studying. Luigi: think it could also count as a quest for purpose if you if you Lynn: Mm. Luigi: will. Like again, I know that I'm very mindful that there's a lot of people out there that might not resonate with this because people can tend, especially in astrology, to separate the houses from the sign and whatnot. But again to be a service, which is a big word and it can have different meanings to different people. But the idea of the first step I suppose to your point Lynn the first step to be of service is to understand how will I be of service, what is my purpose. and purpose does and service can be obviously separated from career and they should be separated from career. but maybe like an invitation to solitude and solitude obviously is a different energy than loneliness to to further return to yourself to further dig deeper within the self or connect to the higher self because the sun influencing the deacon is also a reflection of the higher self or an influence of the higher self. and I think as well, maybe it's we're giving so much credit to the eight of disks, it's scary not scary, but it's surprising. But it's Lynn: It's a full episode, you know, it's just an episode on the eight of this so it's you can get it out. Luigi: I know, I know. But I was thinking if you play around a little bit with the maps of the spheres, if you if we include this four, six, eight, that being the track that the Hermit travels on to reach the Lynn: Mm. Luigi: sun, influencing the f influencing his first deacon and to reach Hod that rules the numerologically the deacon itself. If you play around with the maps of it, you get six plus four plus eight, which gives gives you the number eighteen, which he is the geometria of the word life as well. So there can be a whole like it's not just purely the 8 of disks to to just simply go hard at work, wrap your sleeves up and whatnot, but truly like a almost like an an essay journey on on yourself, your purpose your ethics of living and maybe even your dreams and just how you're gonna how you're gonna deliver that to the world at large. Lynn: that's that's a beautiful statement that I feel like we could end the episode on that. Luigi: Ha ha Amelie: Yeah, I was I was about to say, because we were talking a lot about work. And I think a lot of people see work as something quite negative, because you're thinking about working, just working. But this dude, he's kind of enjoying himself, though. Like he likes doing this. Lynn: He's doing what he's supposed to do or what he wants to do. The way we all should be working, right? Doing the thing that we actually like and that Luigi: Yeah. Lynn: we're good at. Mm hmm. Amelie: Exactly. Luigi: And that's why like I mean I I don't live in and I haven't been in a long time in any Scandinavian country, but I believe and maybe Lynn, you may be able to speak about this more, but they have started to introduce certain topics in school about exploring what one, emotion and emotional regulation, I suppose. That's what I read online. I could be completely wrong and off topic. But two there were from what I read, there were some lessons introduced in school to better understand a sense of yes career, but I wanna separate it slightly and extend it to purpose so that your career becomes your purpose or vice versa, your purpose is then filtered into your career. I don't know if that's completely made up. Lynn: might be. I it might be. I don't I don't know. I'm so separated from things that are happening. It's been a long time I've been yeah. Hm. Luigi: But if that was the case, I I wish I wish for that to be the case globally I suppose 'cause that would that would help the that Lynn: Mm. Mm. Definitely bam. Luigi: will help the manifesto of the Eight of Pentacles. Lynn: Mm mm. Absolutely. And any any last words to 8 of disks Luigi: Mm, I'll save it 'cause we we still have the nine and ten to go through. There is one last, but I think I will save it as a nugget for the next time. Lynn: Alright, I'm looking forward to that. Well, thanks for cliffhanger. Thanks for joining us tonight Amelie: cliffhanger. Lynn: folks. comment, like, subscribe if you like what we're doing or just how weird we are in our mental illnesses as Amelie points out. You can buy us a coffee. Rabbit holes. Anyway, well Amelie: And how off topic we get sometimes. Lynn: thank you guys and see you in the next episode. Good night. Amelie: Bye. Luigi: Bye.
