- 0:08[SPEAKER_00]: Remember, Broncos Country is not a geographical location.
- 0:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's a state of being.
- 0:21[SPEAKER_03]: Welcome in everybody to the Mile High Hotel podcast.
- 0:23[SPEAKER_03]: I'm your host Chad Jensen with me.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_03]: My fellow football priest.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_03]: You know him.
- 0:27[SPEAKER_03]: You love him.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_03]: He is that kelberman in Zack tonight here in just a few minutes.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to be welcoming on one of the great super chat super stars and good pros just dear friend of the community Nigel top dude.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_03]: It's been a while, but we're about to hear from Nigel.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I know is I haven't seen noz or are spoken with noz unfortunately since I saw him in person at the after the meet and greet chat where we recorded the live live the gut reaction podcast live and to say noz was a little turned up would be the understatement of the century, but it's so good to have money again, he's a pinnacle member and I always love talking with them.
- 1:03[SPEAKER_03]: What an epic game that was I think we all were right like.
- 1:06[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I didn't order heck, third quarter was like Broncos Giants was like, this thing's done so, man.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_03]: What a bummer.
- 1:15[SPEAKER_03]: You know, we were trying to get back on the horse because MHH meet and greet had been undefeated until the year prior, who'd we lose to?
- 1:22[SPEAKER_03]: I can't remember, but we lost.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_03]: and uh... so who was it pitch bird that's right and so we're trying to get back on the horse and it's not looking good bokeh do anything right the offense can't do squat and then all of a sudden the fourth quarter hits dude and it was like what is happening right now
- 1:39[SPEAKER_03]: But guys, we're going to get into it.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_03]: Sam Bam, we'll get to your super.
- 1:43[SPEAKER_03]: Let's let's bring on our dear buddy, the man, the myth, the legend.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_03]: We're doing these superstar segments, and of course, as soon as we start getting into them.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_03]: One of the first names that comes to mind, and I'm sure that you all want to hear from, is this man right here, Nigel Toff?
- 1:58[SPEAKER_03]: What's up, dude?
- 1:59[SPEAKER_03]: What's up, brothers?
- 2:00[SPEAKER_03]: What's up, everybody?
- 2:01[SPEAKER_03]: Great to see you guys.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_03]: did.
- 2:03[SPEAKER_03]: We've been looking forward to this.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_03]: It's really good to see you big dog.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_03]: So Scott, we're the three of us were chit chat and before we went live and we were talking about just like the the Buffalo game, the divisional round and all that and kind of ramifications and Scott jumps in and goes, guys, save it for the show.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_03]: So Nage, we cut you off, but let's just rewind it for a second.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_03]: The Broncos get the number one seed, we get the buy, right?
- 2:27[SPEAKER_03]: And then who do we draw none other than Josh Allen?
- 2:29[SPEAKER_03]: The last great as far as the NFL media was concerned.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_03]: The great AFC quarterback in this gauntlet and the Broncos drum.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_03]: It's a rematch game from the wildcard the year prior.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_03]: Broncos went 33-10.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_03]: What was your gut reaction, brother?
- 2:45[SPEAKER_02]: Brother, I mean, it was, I hadn't felt that you guys know, we've been on these pods for a while and I've been following you guys for a while.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_02]: You've been bringing such great attention to the Broncos and kind of some of the misgivings we've run into over the last several years.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_02]: It's been tough for Broncos fans.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_02]: And then we get to this position where in a matter of a couple of years, Peyton and Peyton turn this thing around and we've got this roster and now built up and it's like,
- 3:11[SPEAKER_02]: leading the league in sacks right and almost at the at the at the precipice of taking down the bears record right off by think force for sacks we five sacks to break it, but we were right there and then you you draw Josh Allen, which I think, you know, Josh Allen probably came into this thinking, okay,
- 3:33[SPEAKER_02]: And low and behold, so my road to the Super Bowl goes through it's either nicks or I've got you know, okay, I can I can I deal with them can I deal with the Patriots and and and we draw these guys and I think
- 3:47[SPEAKER_02]: if if I'm like any I got to believe everyone was nervous right like that's the one team I was hoping we wouldn't have to play but then I was also like band what an opportunity to kind of avenge last year's disaster when we went out to Buffalo and what a win it would be for this franchise and I really actually was looking at that game the whole way guys as this is the
- 4:12[SPEAKER_02]: the Patriots and I'm going to throw the seahawks in there.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_02]: No disrespect.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_02]: I felt like they were inferior teams.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_02]: And I just felt like if we get the opportunity with Donald with that past rush that we're going to create turnovers.
- 4:25[SPEAKER_02]: But man, right after the game and I was at a buddy's birthday party and everyone was going crazy.
- 4:32[SPEAKER_02]: And I was the only Bill or the only Broncos fans there.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_02]: But everyone was kind of into the game because everyone was going crazy and not what 20 minutes
- 4:41[SPEAKER_02]: one of my boys comes up to me with a text like alert and I felt alert that that bonix is out and it just the the air out of the party just it just deflated right and and I know you guys were on it I think you had your pot on at that moment and then we're like oh well I mean this is why we've got a great backup right so let's see what happens and it just wasn't meant to be so yeah we tried to put lipstick on that pig's act
- 5:11[SPEAKER_01]: It would definitely wasn't easy.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_01]: I'll never forget having to break that news live on the podcast and then getting off immediately and just sitting with myself in silence for a half hour just Mfing and cursing everywhere, but now as let's turn the page a little bit to something happier.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_01]: I know you well enough to know that I just got a why'd you up a little bit and watch you go two words Jalen water go
- 5:32[SPEAKER_02]: Brother, I think it's, you know, I've been watching and learning from really what Peyton and Peyton have been doing.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_02]: I think George Peyton's got a really great understanding of what Sean Peyton wants.
- 5:43[SPEAKER_02]: And I think we all saw
- 5:45[SPEAKER_02]: as much, look, two seasons in a row now with Cortland, back to back thousand yard seasons.
- 5:51[SPEAKER_02]: It doesn't get better, not in there.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_02]: There's always question marks about, is he a top tier receiver, but he just produces, and that's when some drops here and there that Cort has had.
- 6:01[SPEAKER_02]: But if you look at him, he's not the ideal match for what Nick's is looking for.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_02]: And I would argue probably back when we had like a guy like KJ Hamler or Judy,
- 6:14[SPEAKER_02]: You know, in three to eight yard route running receiver with precise routes is ideal for nicks and we go out and get one of the best in the NFL in that space in water.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_02]: So I think it just goes to show how confident we are.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_02]: This is just going to take me to the fact that there was a lot of to do about our offseason and not going after price free agents.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_02]: And I watch, they were able to catch a few of your podcasts on that.
- 6:44[SPEAKER_02]: But if you look at what this team did, they focused on the folks internally that they know some some people, I know there were some question marks with trout men and a few of the other guys.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_02]: But ultimately what you have is a team of guys that are really built.
- 6:59[SPEAKER_02]: and believe in the system that this culture that Sean Peyton has created.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_02]: And the thing that was missing all those years we had these losing seasons was the culture, right?
- 7:09[SPEAKER_02]: And we finally got that culture turned around and we want to keep those players in.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_02]: And I think it speaks volumes to the quality of person.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_02]: Waddle is that Peyton and Peyton wanted to bring him into that.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_02]: And he's like one of the really one of the few people from the outside.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_02]: that the team brought in and the fact that PS2 knows him.
- 7:30[SPEAKER_02]: I think went a long way as well, but I think you're going to see.
- 7:34[SPEAKER_02]: I think for anyone who's worried about a little bit of a drop-off on the defensive side, because I think it's going to be hard to duplicate 68 sacks.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_02]: I think our offense is going to be much better.
- 7:45[SPEAKER_02]: I think not just from it and look, guys, we do need Nick's healthy.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, he's got to be able to move and run.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_02]: We can't have him limited in any way, but I think water is going to create some immediate separation, which is going to create more opportunities for
- 8:03[SPEAKER_02]: I think you're going to be able to sprinkle in memes for these like dagger deep concepts, a couple of them in a game where he can just take the top off and you know Nick's can connect with him on those.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_02]: So I think it's a phenomenal pick up at, frankly, if everyone on this pod and every Broncos fan, if you're thinking anything less than a Super Bowl championship, I think you don't know this team.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_03]: I love it dude you're getting everybody hyped and that's uh... as we talk about on this podcast nudge the shot a life that you need when you're at your lowest moment or you if you're not at a low moment you just need a little more pep to your step you could just call nudge and you know maybe you need to nine hundred number brother give everybody that extra boost that they need but we got sandbam checking in with the generous super say an evening guys welcome nudge my haul go broncos do it same
- 8:51[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you for the super chat and email me if you want to come on and do a superstar segment this this offseason brother you know the drill it's very nice to have you all right now just let's let's also talk about the draft and I just did the math today for an article
- 9:06[SPEAKER_03]: The Broncos, since the roster building portion of the offseason began, right?
- 9:11[SPEAKER_03]: So we're talking free agency and the draft.
- 9:14[SPEAKER_03]: The Broncos had brought in, well, let's see, 14 college free agents, right?
- 9:19[SPEAKER_03]: And hasn't been confirmed by the team yet.
- 9:22[SPEAKER_03]: It'll happen soon, but 14 guys, plus seven draft picks, plus Jalen Waddle and Tyson Anderson, for a grand total of 23 new guys coming in to Broncos HQ.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_03]: what was your gut reaction to the to the draft and what was your favorite pick.
- 9:41[SPEAKER_02]: Brother well my gut reaction was I think that we've learned from patent that they're going to focus on who who's the best player on their board regardless of of of maybe team need and I think that's although I do think they they went hard at trying to fill the tight end void.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know if there's a lot of urgency on look I I think Evan and Graham coming back a year later
- 10:06[SPEAKER_02]: hopefully can can now with we're going to have more mismatches.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, another year for MIMS, that whole team as a whole, I think is going to have more opportunities, Franklin coming back and with Cortland on the outside and with Waddle.
- 10:20[SPEAKER_02]: But I think that number one we had to to try to repair the loss of JFM.
- 10:26[SPEAKER_02]: I think that is a big loss, pressure-wise what he did and couldn't appreciate anymore.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_02]: And he was well rewarded, right?
- 10:33[SPEAKER_02]: We were not going to be able to match that.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_02]: match that contract that Tennessee gave him.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_02]: But I think that getting on you them, I think, you know, he's a start against the run.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_02]: Frankly, I would urge anyone who hasn't watched the pod where we're, where, uh, trickle with the guys did that really nice breakdown of the, uh, of the roster.
- 10:54[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's really a great watch.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_02]: But the, um,
- 10:58[SPEAKER_02]: I think that the one I'm excited about not out of excited.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_02]: It's not the right word, but I don't know if you guys, you know, the linebacker we got mystery irrelevant read Murdoch.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_02]: So I know it's really hard, you know, the mystery irrelevant, making it or doing, making any kind of splash, but you, you know, for long time, Broncos fans, you know, we have a history of turning undrafted free agents and to really.
- 11:20[SPEAKER_02]: something special, Philip Lindsey, obviously Rod Smith.
- 11:25[SPEAKER_02]: We've had a ton of them over our history.
- 11:27[SPEAKER_02]: But he was drafted, you know, as Mr. irrelevant, and it reminds me a little bit, if you guys followed, if you guys remember, when we drafted John Mobiley and Mobiley,
- 11:37[SPEAKER_02]: was obviously a top draft pick, but he came from a small school, cut-stown state, and he just lit it up and made one of the, in my early Broncos life, one of the greatest plays in our history in the Super Bowl right against Brett Farve and I think down that pass at the end.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_02]: But similar builds and what Red does really well is gets to the ball and gets there with violence.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_02]: They said that a lot about Drey Greenlaw and Drey really just didn't quite figure out VJ's defense and struggled with it.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_02]: But I think this young man will start off on special teams, but he's got a nose for getting to the football and he creates turnovers, which I think is
- 12:22[SPEAKER_02]: We want to continue to build on right as Broncos fans, that was the one thing that caused some heartburn for us last year was that we dominated, I mean, just dominated teams when it came to putting them behind the sticks and getting off the field on third down, but we just couldn't get enough turnovers.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_02]: So maybe, maybe, you know, maybe that's a kid that can come in and
- 12:46[SPEAKER_02]: do something interesting for a late-round draft pick.
- 12:49[SPEAKER_02]: As far as the other guys, I think all of them fit a role, fit a need.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_02]: And I think if we hit on even one of those tight ends, I know Lance was really big on Jolie, John Justin, I think that
- 13:03[SPEAKER_02]: That would be, you know, be great.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_02]: Look, I think all of us in Shannon, we haven't, or, you know, or in Julius was the one that really gave us, I think, you know, the argument is Peyton was the one who really turned him into something special.
- 13:16[SPEAKER_02]: But I would love to see that position give us any modicum of help in the middle of the field.
- 13:24[SPEAKER_02]: And I think, I think we have a chance on offense, especially,
- 13:29[SPEAKER_02]: Look, if JK can stay healthy, I think we're going to be very, I think we have a top five offense.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just going to say that with Nick's and a healthy dobbins, I think Peyton's going to be really smart with dobbins.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_02]: 10 to 11 carries, maybe a game, and mixing in the young guy coming off the bench.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_02]: But I think if we can stay healthy, knock on wood, I think that we're going to have a top tier offense to go along with that super recoverable caliber defense.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_03]: I love it, Zach, what do you got for our boy?
- 13:58[SPEAKER_01]: Man, if you're not fired up watching NOS right now, I would venture to guess that you don't have a pulse.
- 14:04[SPEAKER_01]: I just want to know NOS really quickly how you feel about the over under being said at nine and a half of the broccos.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_01]: Give me your thoughts on that.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_01]: Um, well, I would say this.
- 14:13[SPEAKER_02]: I'm a superstitious guy.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_02]: I like trying to wear the same shirts when I, although, you know, we had 10 losing seasons would be with all my superstitions.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_02]: So clearly they don't work.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_02]: All right, guys.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to tell you that.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_02]: No superstition works.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_02]: But what I would say to you guys is that I think that this Broncos team,
- 14:31[SPEAKER_02]: I don't worry about the, about the schedule or who we're playing.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_02]: I think that we are better than the team last year.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_02]: So our team last year went 14 and 3.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 14:42[SPEAKER_02]: I know there's a lot of knock on, okay, well, can we win the close games again?
- 14:47[SPEAKER_02]: We, you know, we got by the commanders, we got by came back versus the giants.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_02]: But if anything, I think this team is, is the same team in a lot of ways.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_02]: They're battle hardened.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_02]: And I think we're going to, I think we're going to be in that same,
- 15:00[SPEAKER_02]: that that same space of of 13 to 15 wins.
- 15:04[SPEAKER_02]: I think we're going to dominate the chiefs.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_02]: I really do.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_02]: I think that the rest of the only team that, you know, and it's just, I don't know what it is about, Peyton versus Horrible.
- 15:16[SPEAKER_02]: There's something there about Horrible always seems to get the best of Peyton coaching, but I'm excited about this with the young guy calling plays this year.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_02]: think we're going to be more balanced.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_02]: I think we're going to run the ball more.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_02]: I think Nick's is going to have a huge, I just think it's going to be the new way of calling plays in the NFL is coming to Denver.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_02]: Nothing gets champagne.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_02]: I think he's incredible, you know, historically a legend at play calling, but you know, anytime you get a fresh set of eyes in there with a different view, I mean, look, I was asking my son the other day, just going to be five slang words.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_02]: that kids are using right now and I hadn't heard of single one of them and he would ask me, you know, what does this mean?
- 16:01[SPEAKER_02]: What has glazed me and not the only thing I could think of was donuts and he was like, no, bro, you know, really don't know.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_02]: So I think that, you know, having someone with a fresh perspective coming in that speaks the lingo can relate to these guys, not saying Sean Peyton didn't, but I think that we're going to have a stronger better team.
- 16:18[SPEAKER_02]: I think we're going to dominate the West.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_02]: And I think that, you know, to me, the team that is going to come down to again, I think it's going to be the bills again.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_02]: I think the bills are going to come back for all the, you know, the Bengals defense is still suspect after what they've done.
- 16:35[SPEAKER_02]: The Ravens are trying, but you know, Lamor has a tough time in the playoffs.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_02]: And I think the chiefs.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_02]: You guys know, I mean, just look at how long it took for Javante to come back.
- 16:46[SPEAKER_02]: I know Tom Brady came off the ACL, but I think Pat is going to take time for the homes to get his feet under him.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_02]: Kelsey is frankly, gosh, he's, he's in a great spot.
- 16:57[SPEAKER_02]: He should just, you know, be a backup dancer with his, with his soon to be wife and call it a day.
- 17:03[SPEAKER_02]: And I think, man, I think we're going to be, yeah, I think I would say 15 and two is my final prediction for the season.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_03]: Love it, dude.
- 17:11[SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
- 17:12[SPEAKER_03]: Last question, brother, and then we'll cut you loose.
- 17:14[SPEAKER_03]: Everyone's having a great time here in from Nage.
- 17:16[SPEAKER_03]: Everyone's like, well, let's go Nage, the the chat is loving it and wrong my man Nage.
- 17:22[SPEAKER_03]: Everyone's loving it.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_03]: In case you missed it while you were talking, you had Phil checking in from Facebook too, saying the man, the myth, the legend Nage, but last thing, we just kind of went through your last remarks and Zach's question kind of a good forecast for 20, 26 team wise and whatnot.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_03]: But with the news that broke last week, Bonesix undergoes a cleanup procedure.
- 17:47[SPEAKER_03]: It appears that instead of returning day one OTAs, which is today, they've reported today, that as far as him being on the field and stuff, guys, let's go ahead and circle training camp instead of OTAs.
- 18:00[SPEAKER_03]: What's your, how are you feeling about it?
- 18:02[SPEAKER_03]: He also real quick posted a video over the weekend, so Friday,
- 18:06[SPEAKER_03]: on Instagram.
- 18:07[SPEAKER_03]: I think he kind of realized that the news that broke kind of affected Broncos country's mood a little bit.
- 18:12[SPEAKER_03]: And so to maybe reassure everybody, he posted on Instagram a picture of him sprint or a video of him sprinting, which was encouraging no doubt about it, but all that be in the case.
- 18:23[SPEAKER_03]: How are you feeling about bone next?
- 18:24[SPEAKER_03]: Are you worried about his injury?
- 18:26[SPEAKER_03]: Obviously, already mentioned Nigel, pivotal.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_03]: He's going to be to the team's ultimate outlook and destiny in
- 18:35[SPEAKER_02]: Brothers, I think, look, we don't know why things happen, but they happen for a reason, and he happened to get injured, it happened.
- 18:42[SPEAKER_02]: And I think he's rallying back, and he's doing everything that he can.
- 18:45[SPEAKER_02]: I'm optimistic.
- 18:46[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, look, any injury you can't tell how it's gonna turn out till you're on the field.
- 18:50[SPEAKER_02]: I think if there's one thing that I feel for Beau, that's on the negative, is just having that extra time to build some chemistry with Wawl, you know, like he's like these guys like doing these off-season,
- 19:05[SPEAKER_02]: for three, four days, go toss the ball, build some chemistry, and there's a lot to be set about that.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_02]: And I think so on one front, that's tough, that that'll be missed this season.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_02]: But on the flip side, I mean, the rest of the team is pretty much the same.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_02]: So Bo knows
- 19:24[SPEAKER_02]: these guys inside and out and they should all be improved.
- 19:27[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_02]: So I think it's just going to come down to.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_02]: We don't want to risk the Broncos bringing him back, which I know they won't.
- 19:35[SPEAKER_02]: I know how seriously Sean Payton takes this in the medical team in Denver.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_02]: They're going to bring him back when he's ready.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_02]: And, and that's what we need because we don't want a situation where we go into the regular season with any concerns.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_02]: And you guys know we've got what four months right now before any meaningful football happens plenty of time for him to recover.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_02]: But I think even if he's back for training, look, he's going to be a year sharper in this offense.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_02]: He's going to know and and.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_02]: Again, I feel bad saying this because I don't want to take anything away from Sean Payton.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_02]: But I think in the last, you know, even going back to Russ' last season, you know, there were times where we would not just us, you know, on the pod, but we would kind of get second guess, like, what kind of game plan was that or, you know, where was the running attack or what, what, what, what, what was the eight screens in a row for negative yards?
- 20:25[SPEAKER_02]: Like, I would, I could still picture Zach saying that, right?
- 20:28[SPEAKER_02]: There was a game where we literally threw like five screens for negative yardage.
- 20:32[SPEAKER_02]: And so I don't think we're going to have that anymore.
- 20:35[SPEAKER_02]: I think we're going to have a look.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_02]: I may be I'm overly optimistic, but there's a reason why.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_02]: There were multiple teams trying to go after our coaching staff, right?
- 20:47[SPEAKER_02]: And I mean, and ultimately, we'd lost guys.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_02]: We really did, but the core nucleus of our coaching staff is still there.
- 20:54[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm excited.
- 20:55[SPEAKER_02]: I think Bow is going to bounce back really strong.
- 20:57[SPEAKER_02]: I love the fact that he put that video out there because it can create a lot of anxiety, not knowing what's going on in a second procedure, but I think he'll be ready.
- 21:08[SPEAKER_03]: All right, guys, you're here in it from Nigel Top, a legendary Mount Rushmore Superstar and a dear friend of ours, brother.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you so much for making time for us tonight.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_03]: All your support and friendship over the years, Big Dog, and give our best to the family.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_03]: You're still not on X, right?
- 21:23[SPEAKER_03]: You're not on Twitter.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_03]: Brother, no, I'm not.
- 21:26[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm glad that I'm glad that you guys still are on YouTube and Facebook things that, uh,
- 21:31[SPEAKER_02]: Things the old tech folks like me are really comfortable with but one day I'm sure I'll have to get on Twitter at some point, but for now Yeah, I like staying on the YouTube and and your other your other channels that you come on Good brother.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_03]: We'll look forward to talking to you soon and again brother.
- 21:48[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you for Making time and dropping knowledge tonight big dog Appreciate you guys take care everybody.
- 21:53[SPEAKER_03]: Let's have a great season talk soon.
- 21:55[SPEAKER_02]: All right.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, let me just talk Legend I mean look
- 22:02[SPEAKER_03]: It's our job to be host guys and to be interesting and to move the conversation forwards.
- 22:07[SPEAKER_03]: And to all these things that is incumbent upon anyone with a microphone and a camera in their face broadcasting.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_03]: But when Nage gets talking, Zach, I'm not really thinking about that stuff.
- 22:17[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just listening to what he has to say and I'm getting excited and I'm getting kind of pumped and maybe thinking over different angles that he brings up that I hadn't really thought too much about and as always, man, it's always a blast having, having Nage on the show and just catching up with him for a few minutes before we go live.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, because he's the interview.
- 22:35[SPEAKER_01]: He's the interviewer.
- 22:37[SPEAKER_01]: He's the camera.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_01]: He's the microphone.
- 22:38[SPEAKER_01]: He's the questions.
- 22:39[SPEAKER_01]: He's everything.
- 22:40[SPEAKER_01]: He's a one man band.
- 22:41[SPEAKER_01]: There's few people that I've met on this planet.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_01]: Truly Brock was fan or not that are like no, I have a lot of respect for him.
- 22:47[SPEAKER_01]: A lot of love for him and gracious that he bless us with his presence on the show tonight.
- 22:52[SPEAKER_01]: I genuinely agree.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_03]: You know, I met a lot of people on my
- 22:57[SPEAKER_03]: 46 years walking this planet.
- 22:59[SPEAKER_03]: And a lot of great folks that we've met Zach over the years doing this podcast in the months and the friendships and connections and bonds we've made and nauseous up there at the top and just, you know, I look forward when we talk about the meet and greet, which, you know, we'll be getting to that and scheduling it and announcing it here pretty soon.
- 23:18[SPEAKER_03]: The NFL is going to drop the schedule and about another 10 days, give or take.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_03]: And we will be maybe two weeks, but we will be getting straight to announce in the meet and Greek date then and we my whole point of that is that looking forward to hanging out with Nage usually brings a crew with him.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_03]: His buddy Porter, who's a friend of ours too.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_03]: So Nage, I forgot to mention a while you were on, but you hear this, get Porter our best dude.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_01]: Nage rolls about like five or 60 with a posse chat.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_01]: He sees like superstar MVP,
- 23:50[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, if you're trying to get at Nosh, not so easy, you know, not so easy.
- 23:54[SPEAKER_03]: He's he's always protected and insulated man.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_03]: He's so fun.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_03]: I know your main.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_03]: Hey, man.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_03]: We're working on things.
- 24:02[SPEAKER_03]: Let not your heartbeat.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_03]: You says, Nosh needs to join the show permanently.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, you know, hey, he's a busy man.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_03]: He's got a life to lead.
- 24:09[SPEAKER_03]: He's got a young family and stuff going on, but who knows what the future might hold.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_03]: I'm not sure.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_03]: All right, guys, we get back to the conversation at hand.
- 24:21[SPEAKER_03]: Again, phenomenal chat with our dear buddy Nigel Toff who jumps in did off the top row after carrying the show only for 20 minutes.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you, dropping extremely generous super chat brother.
- 24:37[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you so much.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_03]: I hope you know how much you mean to us brother and thank you.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_03]: Zach, take it from here for one second.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_01]: I just, one more could be said, everything that we said about NOS like literally two minutes ago was just validated and it's not because there's a specific number attached to this comment far from it.
- 24:55[SPEAKER_01]: Just your interactions with us in person, NOS, interactions with us on the podcast, podcasts, unbelievable, but this is just beyond the pale and thank you so much.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_01]: Nothing more that could be said.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you so much for your generosity.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_03]: You're the man, dude.
- 25:09[SPEAKER_03]: Looking forward to hanging with you in the fall at the meet and greet, and you and I will be catching up more here very, very soon.
- 25:16[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm just, without saying too much, I'm just glad everything's going the way it's going for you right now, big dog.
- 25:21[SPEAKER_03]: So, once again, thank you so much for making time for us, bro.
- 25:25[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_01]: So, that's enough, thank you.
- 25:28[SPEAKER_03]: All right, Nigel Toff legend.
- 25:31[SPEAKER_03]: Let's see what else some of the folks in the chat have to say here.
- 25:33[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to dial it up to the top here.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_03]: Shoutouts to folks like the pop of bear.
- 25:39[SPEAKER_03]: Good to see you, brother Todd Austin Dorf, a deer member.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_03]: Shout out not everybody.
- 25:43[SPEAKER_03]: We got Pearl Roy Osborn a deer member.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_03]: He says, yeah, that wasn't an awesome game to be at in person.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_03]: I think he's talking about how we open the show or the conversations act with Nigel talking about the Buffalo game.
- 25:57[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, dude, it's awesome.
- 25:58[SPEAKER_03]: We got David Bianco who says, I say three of the four.
- 26:00[SPEAKER_03]: So let's let's talk about this.
- 26:02[SPEAKER_03]: In fact, I got so carried away listening to nudge some of his answers.
- 26:05[SPEAKER_03]: There's that I forgot to ask him one of the questions, which is the topic of our show tonight.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_03]: Anyway, the Broncos veterans who may be on notice after a free agency in the draft or in the books.
- 26:16[SPEAKER_03]: I have an article I wrote it up today, Zach, and the four guys that jump to mine for me out of the gates are Evan Ingraham, Obvious Implication of the Broncos, Zach, not only is he entering a contract year, but they drafted two tight ends.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_03]: So we'll put a pin in that for a second, Evan Ingraham, Ben Powers, Zach left guard who's also in a contract year, and they drafted Cage Casey as a pretty evident
- 26:45[SPEAKER_03]: I got Troy Franklin and then I got Marvin Mims for a couple of different reasons, not quite so obvious, but am I missing anybody and then we'll grab David here?
- 26:54[SPEAKER_01]: I think you have a pretty well-in-cumpest, what jumps off to me about Ben Power specifically Chad is I think he was on the chopping block before the Casey pick, everyone was expecting him to be either pay-cutted or released outright and the Brock was denied or I think they're giving him one more chance with a full season or most of it to see if you can prove his worth,
- 27:16[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_03]: And so David says, I see three of the four might be on the chopping block, but from MIMS, he's one of the best special teams, returners, and with the addition of water, MIMS might be more special teams.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_03]: So by the way, when I say, guys are on notice, the implications can be
- 27:33[SPEAKER_03]: A little bit complicated, like it doesn't necessarily mean they're about to get fired or cut or released, but it could mean that there's a preparation plan and play Zack to replace them, whether it's right away, or in the future.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_03]: And I think in most cases, like at least Zack in Ingram and Powers case,
- 27:52[SPEAKER_03]: The being on notice thing is more about like, hey, we're already prepared for life without you in 2027.
- 27:58[SPEAKER_03]: That doesn't mean that they can't play well enough to garner an extension.
- 28:02[SPEAKER_03]: George Peyton does now have a pretty extensive histories act doing in season extension.
- 28:07[SPEAKER_03]: So, doesn't eliminate that as a possibility.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_03]: But the Broncos being pragmatic, they go, we got these two key guys, expiring contracts.
- 28:14[SPEAKER_03]: We got to act accordingly.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_03]: So, that's one thing.
- 28:16[SPEAKER_03]: Now, in the case of Franklin and MIMS, look, the jail and water
- 28:21[SPEAKER_03]: immediately, bumped everybody on the depth chart, not named Corland Sutton, down one spot.
- 28:28[SPEAKER_03]: But there was reasons act that people were speculating whether Troy Franklin could be traded, could be moved during the draft and, of course, nothing materialized.
- 28:37[SPEAKER_03]: That also doesn't mean Zach something couldn't happen between now and in the ultimate trade deadline in November at some point and then mames last thing and I'm serving it back to you Marvin mames he himself in March publicly doing a Denver nuggets broadcast at during a break question what his role might be now that water is in town.
- 28:57[SPEAKER_03]: because they are very similar type players, but you're 100% right David, the one thing that saves men's in terms of preserving his spot on the team.
- 29:06[SPEAKER_03]: You don't got to worry about him getting cut, is that all pro-special team's value he brings.
- 29:11[SPEAKER_01]: I can throw a new name out there just for the sake of conversation.
- 29:15[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe Riley Moss, even though he's in a contract to your chat, I think there's other cornerbacks, namely Jadae Baron and Chris Abrams drain that have been waiting in the wing is ready to take over at permanent outside cornerback opposite PS2.
- 29:28[SPEAKER_01]: So that's a guy who is not only fighting for a new contract to be with the Broncos or another team, but he's fighting to keep his spot as the number two corner in Denver.
- 29:37[SPEAKER_01]: Just for again, a conversation, say.
- 29:42[SPEAKER_03]: Absolutely.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_03]: Good stuff, David.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you for checking in.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, sorry.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_03]: Scott, hit that again.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_03]: I was just there.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_03]: We go.
- 29:47[SPEAKER_03]: Come bread them us in the house.
- 29:49[SPEAKER_03]: Nice to have you big dog.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_03]: Two nights in a row.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_03]: Awesome to see.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_03]: He says should the Broncos go Zack after Tanner McKee.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_03]: What are your thoughts?
- 29:59[SPEAKER_01]: The quarterback.
- 30:01[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, the quarterback.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_03]: So, uh, Tanner McKee, uh,
- 30:08[SPEAKER_03]: 2023 Zach Philadelphia Eagles six round pick.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_03]: He is was he released recently like what is I'm not sure why he's asking that
- 30:21[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I don't know as as much as I know about Tan and Ricky is that he's a quarterback.
- 30:24[SPEAKER_01]: I haven't followed his NFL journey or lack there of so far.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, it seems kind of random, but the Broncos chat are looking supposedly to bring in a camp arm for the offseason program with bonus resting the ankle.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe it'll be Tan and Ricky.
- 30:38[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 30:40[SPEAKER_03]: It is interesting, I don't know, dude, I don't, I'll be honest with you, cornbreademists, my answer is no, I don't have a strong feeling one way or another, I guess, about Tanner McKee, like I had to think about it for a second, then I realized, okay, he was that late-round pick, what year was it, Philly?
- 30:54[SPEAKER_03]: And then, of course, as you see in live, had to Google if there's a reason you're even asking us this, like relevant to, was he in the news recently or something?
- 31:01[SPEAKER_03]: But the, the interesting thing here, cornbreademists
- 31:08[SPEAKER_03]: they don't have a camp arms for even rookie mini camp like who's going to be out there throwing to the four college free agent wide receivers they sign I got to check the rules on that it might be zack that Sam Ellinger might have some eligibility left to qualify him for that I'm not 100% sure without doing a little mini research on it but it is interesting especially relative to the bonyx new timeline
- 31:33[SPEAKER_03]: They haven't brought in another quarterback, just on a short term basis, not to replace anybody, not to, you know, all we got to have someone better than Bonix, no, just someone to kind of get by through the summer.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_01]: I wonder what Ben Gucci denucci's up to nowadays.
- 31:46[SPEAKER_01]: I thought he was like semi retired or whatever, but someone like that very low level, just he knows the offense.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_01]: He's not going to cause waves and he can literally just hold the reins for the offseason program while the other quarterbacks, I guess, take it easy.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 32:00[SPEAKER_03]: So now, Cornbreadham is God forbid that we try and turn this episode that was so blessed by Nage dropping knowledge into a Tanner McKee episode.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_03]: But why are you asking us about Tanner McKee of all the people walking the planet who happened to be collecting paychecks in the national football league?
- 32:21[SPEAKER_03]: You have to let us know in the chat, Big Dog.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_03]: Michaela, the Duchess, jumping in on the top rope.
- 32:28[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_03]: Second to none, the MHH family man.
- 32:33[SPEAKER_03]: Michaela, we love you.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_03]: We appreciate you so much.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_03]: We're looking forward to having you on here.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_03]: Very, very soon.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_03]: And after we had to kind of like reverse one, I have, so Deanna next Monday, Michaela, the 18th, it's gonna be awesome.
- 32:47[SPEAKER_03]: I'm looking forward to that.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_03]: She says, I see Evan Ingraham as a serious cut candidate.
- 32:52[SPEAKER_03]: Riley Moss and Troy Franklin as trade candidates would not break my heart.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_03]: Question, would you trade Jarrett Stitham's act straight up for Zach Wilson?
- 33:06[SPEAKER_01]: probably not, just because I don't know, I think a lot of people are still putting access guilt on Jared Stitham and Jared Stitham alone for the AFC title loss, and we can go through that again if you want, but Zach Wilson to me is more of a wild cannon, more of a reckless quarterback than we saw Stitham be in that playoff loss.
- 33:28[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know that I would do that.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_01]: I don't like Stitham as the long-term number two, but I wouldn't trade him straight up.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_01]: I also Michaela, and thank you so much for your generosity as always for blessing us like you want to do.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_01]: I don't see anger, though, as a cut candidate, because if you move on from him, who is your starter?
- 33:45[SPEAKER_01]: Adam Troutman, no, he's not a tight-end one.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_01]: You're not going to rely on Justin Joe, lead to be the starter chat, because that's one position that takes maybe a few years to transition to the NFL.
- 33:55[SPEAKER_01]: You can't expect too much of him right away.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_01]: So if only by default, I see in-groom still on the roster, they're time to move on from him with a couple months ago,
- 34:03[SPEAKER_03]: Now, here's the thing.
- 34:05[SPEAKER_03]: You're right, a lot of times tight ends take time to ripen on the vine.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_03]: Ebony and Grimm granted.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, Justin Jolie, a fifth round pick, Zach, in Grimm in 2017 was a late first round pick, but he impacted out of the gates.
- 34:19[SPEAKER_03]: Was he a complete product?
- 34:21[SPEAKER_03]: No, he still took some time to grow and I'll use the phrase again, ripen on the vine.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_03]: But my point here is, if they had to make a move,
- 34:30[SPEAKER_03]: because I just did some research while you were talking there.
- 34:33[SPEAKER_03]: I'm like, because I wrote about him today.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_03]: And all I did was look up his salary.
- 34:38[SPEAKER_03]: All right, I didn't look up like...
- 34:40[SPEAKER_03]: cut ramifications, pre June 1st, post June 1st.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_03]: But I did just now Zach while you were talking.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_03]: And it turns out that if the Broncos were to cut him right now, without designated him post June 1st, they would incur $10 million, $10.3 million dead this year on the cap and then $2.6 million dead next year because it's a void year, but you know, signing bonus and all that.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_03]: Now,
- 35:11[SPEAKER_03]: uh... cut they would have is basically fifty fifty seven point six million dead but they would save six point four million so that's just enough dead money
- 35:23[SPEAKER_03]: that he would have to either two things that he'd either have to really be making himself a problem, cancerous, something going on in the locker room that's making him problematic, or a guy behind him, jolly, just like making himself completely undeniable, got to see the field.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_03]: And I just don't think there's enough
- 35:45[SPEAKER_03]: Sample size row to hope between now and then for Jolie to be like that up in Ingram's grill.
- 35:51[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, rookie season, assimilating, learning everything, getting his bearings, all that stuff dude.
- 35:57[SPEAKER_03]: He's going to be swimming for a minute.
- 35:59[SPEAKER_03]: So I wouldn't be completely stunned, Michaela, because it is the NFL.
- 36:04[SPEAKER_03]: But a cut candidate, man, they would they would have to eat almost 8 million bucks this year.
- 36:12[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, listen, I think in full disclosure, anger is closer to being a lemon than he is being a long-term or even mid-term tight-end one for the Broncos, but I just see him in this bucket with a few other players that they're going to try to maximize their value, their contractual value in or their draft investment in for one more season and then decide to move on probably players like Ben Powers, maybe Mike McClunchy, Rally Moss, who I mentioned in the contract here, Brandon Jones in the contract
- 36:40[SPEAKER_01]: These are veterans that the Broncos are just like last chance, last opportunity, and if it doesn't work out, hopefully in twenty twenty seven, Joe Lee is ready to go as tight in one.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but in the last thing you already talked on is that, and then we'll we'll move on in the chat, but Michaela, we always want to get to every single point for you.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_03]: Of course.
- 37:00[SPEAKER_03]: I agree that I would not go straight up, stood him for Zach Wilson just because the Broncos made their decision.
- 37:07[SPEAKER_03]: They had the opportunity to choose between the two and they did.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_03]: And they chose to hold on to stood him.
- 37:12[SPEAKER_03]: And there's a reason for that.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_03]: And guys, Zach Wilson, whatever, potential, whatever opportunity existed for him to be a thing in the NFL.
- 37:23[SPEAKER_03]: Like, it's gone.
- 37:25[SPEAKER_03]: You know, as of what was he Zach's second or third overall pick
- 37:31[SPEAKER_03]: That that the Sam Donalds that bust as a top five pick land multiple places and then many years down the road all the sudden become super bowl studs you know like the odds of that are so astronomical it's it doesn't happen for a reason and that is because usually when a prospect especially a highly touted highly drafted quarterback doesn't cash in on that potential
- 37:58[SPEAKER_03]: bad situation, sure, jets, no one ever succeeds.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_03]: I get all that, but he's ruined.
- 38:03[SPEAKER_03]: Are you I&T like, so as a backup guy to come in and be my, you know, a break glass in case of emergency, the Broncos said the floor is quite a bit higher with Jared Stitham, and he's just a better fit.
- 38:17[SPEAKER_03]: And I think part of that too had to do Zach last thing with he and the next, the Stitham family and the next family are very close.
- 38:26[SPEAKER_01]: I think you hit the nail and the teams and fans and everyone are seeing Sam Darnold and his turnaround winning a Super Bowl after being a bust.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_01]: Teams and the likewise people chat, they saw Daniel Jones's resurgence and indie before that fell off a cliff and they were thinking that every like the same point you just made, every bus quarterback and turned it around like them.
- 38:45[SPEAKER_01]: But for every Sam Darnold, there are a hundred busts that never end up doing anything else in the NFL and we've seen the best of them.
- 38:54[SPEAKER_01]: I would venture to guess considering where Wilson is now, and I'm not too sure that we've seen the best of Zach Wilson in the NFL.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_03]: Great topics though, Michaela.
- 39:03[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, thank you so much for the for the for the super chat.
- 39:07[SPEAKER_03]: Uh, sort of cornbreademists, jumping back, any say, and several teams are after McKee.
- 39:11[SPEAKER_03]: But the price is high.
- 39:12[SPEAKER_03]: So I'm doing a little research while we're talking here.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_03]: And this is according to ESPN's Tim McManus, uh, the interest in McKee exists has not disappeared post draft.
- 39:27[SPEAKER_03]: It's out there, I was not aware of it, but then again, especially this time of year, I'm so locked into what's going on with the Broncos and writing articles and editing.
- 39:40[SPEAKER_03]: I don't always catch everything.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_03]: You're far better, Zac, for example.
- 39:43[SPEAKER_03]: I catch all the little things that are going on around the NFL than I am.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, there's some interest in him.
- 39:49[SPEAKER_03]: pricey though, right?
- 39:50[SPEAKER_03]: The price is high.
- 39:51[SPEAKER_03]: Why would you give it up?
- 39:52[SPEAKER_03]: The only reason you'd make any kind of move beyond a very low cost short-term QB additions act is if Bonyx something was permanent permanent in the sense of like threatening 2026 availability and
- 40:07[SPEAKER_03]: we have no reason to believe that.
- 40:09[SPEAKER_03]: So, very interesting.
- 40:11[SPEAKER_03]: I'm glad now that you've bring it.
- 40:12[SPEAKER_03]: We got some context on it.
- 40:13[SPEAKER_03]: I get the question, but you're thoughts that.
- 40:17[SPEAKER_01]: Well, yeah, I pride myself on keeping my ear to the ground, but I can't say I'm smashing the refresh button for Tanner McKinney.
- 40:24[SPEAKER_01]: He's, I didn't know too much about him.
- 40:26[SPEAKER_01]: I knew he was a backup, and he was kind of bouncing around, I guess.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_01]: But if the price is high, then let him go elsewhere.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_01]: They just need a camp arm.
- 40:33[SPEAKER_01]: They don't even need a quarterback three.
- 40:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's a camp arm that they're going to cut com probably June, July, August, latest.
- 40:39[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, another team can have him cornbread in this, but thank you for the super.
- 40:43[SPEAKER_03]: I think it all stems real quick, the interest in Mickey.
- 40:46[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, again, guys, former six-round pick is entering year four.
- 40:52[SPEAKER_03]: So, expiring contract makes him like attractive as an option for the Eagles to maybe try and get some value from him.
- 40:59[SPEAKER_03]: But Zach, in 2024,
- 41:02[SPEAKER_03]: He started a game, a regular season game.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_03]: And in that game, he threw for 323 yards and four touchdowns with zero interceptions.
- 41:11[SPEAKER_03]: So it's kind of like the, what was that quarterback that went to Seattle from Green Bay Matt, Matt Flane, yeah.
- 41:16[SPEAKER_03]: It's almost like that Matt Flynn effect where people start logging that in their brain and they go, okay, it might be something there.
- 41:23[SPEAKER_03]: So I think that's what's kind of feeding some of the value perception on McKee, but, you know, he's a backup.
- 41:33[SPEAKER_01]: He's not even if he's a backup to the backup to the backup.
- 41:36[SPEAKER_01]: Again, he's a camp arm and the Broncos, he like it or not, they're happy and content with Stitham and Eleanor behind Bonix on the dub chart.
- 41:45[SPEAKER_03]: George Fox, great pod guys hit the thumbs up.
- 41:48[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you for that message.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_03]: Big dog.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_03]: It always means the world to hear from you and yes, guys, we need those thumbs up.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_03]: We need it.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_03]: We need it.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_03]: Every like helps us out in the algorithm.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_03]: It's a great way to support what we're doing here.
- 42:00[SPEAKER_03]: Um, all right, let's see here, uh, they're talking about Dobbins, Zach, the chat.
- 42:06[SPEAKER_03]: Todd Austin Dorf says, after this year, if Dobbins is sideline with another season engine, season ending injury, sure they might move on from him so long as Coleman is productive.
- 42:15[SPEAKER_03]: So, I think this kind of has to do with, well, who are maybe some other guys, I'll notice as a result of this draft.
- 42:21[SPEAKER_03]: And I think it was a subtle message that was sent to JK Dobbins, the drafting of Coleman
- 42:29[SPEAKER_03]: a starting running back in the Senate fell or in this league's act and it's hard to find guys like that in the fourth round running backs guys right now it's not not right now but after this podcast you got to go read Lance Anderson's film breakdown on Jonah Coleman the published like maybe an hour ago absolutely phenomenal you thought you were excited about Jonah Coleman now wait till you read and check out this film breakdown you'll be going man
- 42:55[SPEAKER_03]: You'll be going Dobbins, let's get Coleman, not really, but like you'll be hyped.
- 42:59[SPEAKER_03]: So look, Dobbins Zach, what we know for sure is he's going to get 2026.
- 43:05[SPEAKER_03]: two years, 16 million dollar deal, eight million guaranteed, which is basically just splitting the deal and the first year's guaranteed, and we'll take a look see after the 2026 season.
- 43:14[SPEAKER_03]: So really, all he's got to do to hold onto that money and his job is not miss significant time because when he's healthy, he's on the field.
- 43:25[SPEAKER_03]: And when he's on the field, he produces
- 43:27[SPEAKER_03]: like very few running backs that have been in the league since him since he arrived in 2020.
- 43:31[SPEAKER_03]: When he's available in on the field, he is one of the most efficient prolific and productive running backs.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_03]: It's just that those moments are to kind of few and far between.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, just a small little problem of the fact that he's rarely ever on the field and Todd, you're not wrong for sure, but I got to be honest, I feel like if Dobbins has another season ending injury, they're going to move on from him, even if Coleman is not productive, I feel like so long as Sean Payton's the head coach, they're going to continue drafting running backs.
- 44:03[SPEAKER_01]: Fairly high with the idea they could be the next Alvin Camara the next marking room the next Chris Ivory the next whatever They tried it with our RJ Harvey who's more like Darren Sprouls.
- 44:14[SPEAKER_01]: They're trying it now with Jonah Coleman if that doesn't launch They're gonna keep trying but if Dobbins gets hurt again, that's it on this experiment.
- 44:22[SPEAKER_01]: It has to be
- 44:24[SPEAKER_03]: Especially when you have two young champion at the bit options on that roster ready for more bites at the apples so excellent excellent points being made here shout out to bigger it's nice to see you my brother hope you're doing well Broncos country only we're right there with you
- 44:41[SPEAKER_03]: Although occasionally we like to talk about, you know, guys like Tanner McKee, you know, just for crafting digs, we like to keep you on your toes.
- 44:50[SPEAKER_03]: Chase what's up, dude, he says Desmond Ritter was cut today.
- 44:53[SPEAKER_03]: So that would be an interesting addition for a camp arm.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_03]: What do you say, Zach?
- 44:57[SPEAKER_01]: I just, and again, Taylor Chase, I'm not trying to like crap on your comment.
- 45:03[SPEAKER_01]: I just don't see like interesting and camp armed to me are redundant.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_01]: It's an oxymoron.
- 45:09[SPEAKER_01]: It's a camp arm.
- 45:10[SPEAKER_01]: You're not going to keep him.
- 45:11[SPEAKER_01]: Desmond Ritter is a bust.
- 45:13[SPEAKER_01]: I don't care if he wasn't.
- 45:14[SPEAKER_01]: I believe he was a second round pick, so I third round pick, thank you Scott.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_01]: He was a door dash sponsor or driver.
- 45:20[SPEAKER_01]: Wasn't he too?
- 45:20[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, the guy is just, she should be out of the NFL by now, so I wouldn't call him interesting.
- 45:27[SPEAKER_01]: give me again, Ben Denucci, Gucci Denucci over the door dash sponsor.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_03]: Well said, Chase, good to see you.
- 45:35[SPEAKER_03]: Good to see you tonight, Big Dog.
- 45:37[SPEAKER_03]: Glenn.
- 45:38[SPEAKER_03]: I'm going to read your comment off screen.
- 45:40[SPEAKER_03]: He says, uh, we need Riley Moss.
- 45:43[SPEAKER_03]: He's crucial to the way our secondary plays.
- 45:46[SPEAKER_03]: I hope we can resign him.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_03]: I agree on moving on for me and groom.
- 45:49[SPEAKER_03]: He doesn't fit the way we play.
- 45:51[SPEAKER_03]: No block, no rock.
- 45:52[SPEAKER_03]: and the drops are horrific.
- 45:54[SPEAKER_03]: I would cut him and sign David and Joku as he adds versatility and it would be a leader for Bentley and Jolie.
- 46:01[SPEAKER_03]: I may change for life state of being super bowl loading.
- 46:04[SPEAKER_03]: I love that dude.
- 46:05[SPEAKER_03]: So here's the thing guys, they're knocking the sign David and Joku.
- 46:08[SPEAKER_03]: They've had, I mean again, I hate to be the, oh never thing never.
- 46:13[SPEAKER_03]: But they've had two months basically, exactly.
- 46:17[SPEAKER_03]: to decide whether or not to go after David and Joku, they've sat on the sidelines, unsigned.
- 46:24[SPEAKER_03]: And then meanwhile, they went out and made two draft additions.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_03]: So I think if the shock thing comes and they go, you know what, we're liking what we're seeing from Jolie.
- 46:32[SPEAKER_03]: We're liking what we're seeing from Bentley this summer.
- 46:34[SPEAKER_03]: And oh, and by the way, Caleb Loner has shown us something.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_03]: Let's go ahead and cut Evan Ingraham, post June 1st designation and just rip the band eight off.
- 46:44[SPEAKER_03]: If they do that, I think they roll with the guys they have.
- 46:46[SPEAKER_03]: They don't go out and try and find a joke who only because they've had the opportunity to bring him in and done nothing.
- 46:55[SPEAKER_01]: The bigger question to me, and I don't know why more people aren't looking into this.
- 46:58[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if they are, but why is Dave in the joke we still available on May 4th?
- 47:02[SPEAKER_01]: I thought he would be like among the first signed when for agency began.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know what's going on there.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, Jermaine, I verified that he did do like an ad or sponsorship of Dordast, Desmond Ritter.
- 47:12[SPEAKER_01]: But Scott brings up a really good point on how to highlight really quickly.
- 47:16[SPEAKER_01]: If you guys remember a couple of years ago, might have been last year of the season before.
- 47:19[SPEAKER_01]: Desmond Ritter bailed on a try out with the Broncos.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_01]: He was invited.
- 47:23[SPEAKER_01]: He accepted.
- 47:24[SPEAKER_01]: They had it scheduled and then it was canceled due to a, I think it was a schedule and conflict.
- 47:27[SPEAKER_01]: They said it was Chad.
- 47:28[SPEAKER_01]: So I don't want that type of player in the building, even if he is a campar.
- 47:35[SPEAKER_03]: Pardon me, fair enough.
- 47:36[SPEAKER_03]: Turning to different combos slightly.
- 47:39[SPEAKER_03]: Jordan Lewis, a deer member, good to see a pal.
- 47:41[SPEAKER_03]: He says, his opinion, bo will be just fine.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_03]: The schedule is tougher this year, but I'm optimistic.
- 47:47[SPEAKER_03]: I just did a breakdown on it in the Zach in the article listing the new the 2026 over under at nine and a half.
- 47:57[SPEAKER_03]: And the strength of schedule is obviously a little bit stiffer this season, but it wasn't as, it wasn't as high as I wasn't stronger as strong as I thought it was the difference being, geez, I'm kind of getting tongue tied there, but I'm trying to see if I can find the, okay, so last year to quote myself Denver strength of schedules that was point four to two.
- 48:22[SPEAKER_03]: This time around as the reigning AFC West champs, the Broncos strength of schedule is 0.514, giving them the 15th toughest slate of opponents in 2026.
- 48:33[SPEAKER_03]: We just don't know the order yet, is that?
- 48:36[SPEAKER_01]: I just don't know how you could say the NFL is the ultimate game of parody which it is and it's the ultimate meritocracy which it is like Tony Romo famously said, Chad, and then you rely on strength of schedule.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_01]: The NFL changes weekly.
- 48:51[SPEAKER_01]: what teams are going to look like in September, just like you can't project in September, what teams are going to look like in December or January, I'm not putting too much into that chat because most teams and most opposing fan bases had the Broncos chalked up as a win on their schedule when it came out.
- 49:06[SPEAKER_01]: And what happened?
- 49:07[SPEAKER_01]: The Broncos won 14 and took the NFL by surprise.
- 49:11[SPEAKER_01]: I guess it's notable, but to me it's not the end all be all when analyzing the season.
- 49:16[SPEAKER_03]: By the way, I haven't shouted them out yet.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_03]: Emblex, what's up, dude?
- 49:19[SPEAKER_03]: Good to see you.
- 49:20[SPEAKER_03]: We're excited to have Emblex on the show in June.
- 49:24[SPEAKER_03]: We've been able to kick it.
- 49:26[SPEAKER_03]: We met Emblex in person at the meet and greet.
- 49:28[SPEAKER_03]: He's a rad dude and a friend.
- 49:32[SPEAKER_03]: And he's going to be on the show, though, as a superstar segment.
- 49:34[SPEAKER_03]: June 1st, looking forward to that.
- 49:35[SPEAKER_03]: But Roy brings up Zack, that the video we were talking about Bonix shared on Friday on his Instagram.
- 49:42[SPEAKER_03]: He says it's old.
- 49:43[SPEAKER_03]: Don't buy into it.
- 49:46[SPEAKER_03]: I don't know where you're getting that from.
- 49:48[SPEAKER_03]: I'm just curious, Roy, like, where is that from?
- 49:52[SPEAKER_03]: Not to be one of those guys that goes, oh, Roy said it without evidence.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_03]: But like, where are you getting it from?
- 49:58[SPEAKER_03]: Is all I'm saying, like, do you have any evidence to support that it's old or just like you think it might be because I have not seen that anywhere, exactly.
- 50:09[SPEAKER_01]: Well, the slew's and the Twitter detectives were out.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_01]: They were analyzing the foliage and stuff in the background of the picture chat and what bone nicks his legs and ankles look like and this and that.
- 50:18[SPEAKER_01]: But Roy, let's think a little deeper now.
- 50:21[SPEAKER_01]: It's not about the video itself of him running, no matter when it was,
- 50:26[SPEAKER_01]: Let's think, it was about the message it was sent in releasing that video and along with the caption, good times flying by whatever Bownik said on Instagram along with a picture of him throwing and generally enjoying his life.
- 50:40[SPEAKER_01]: The video no matter when it was taken, that doesn't matter.
- 50:43[SPEAKER_01]: It was a message that Bownik sent to the masses and the public saying, listen, relax.
- 50:49[SPEAKER_01]: I'm okay.
- 50:50[SPEAKER_01]: You guys are freaking out for nothing.
- 50:51[SPEAKER_01]: That's the read I have into it.
- 50:53[SPEAKER_03]: Okay, so he says it's coming from the 104-3-the-Fan.
- 50:58[SPEAKER_03]: I just did a very quick search.
- 51:04[SPEAKER_03]: I'm looking here at an article.
- 51:05[SPEAKER_03]: So this is from Andrew Mason of the fan, Denver Sports.
- 51:12[SPEAKER_03]: And he writes, quote, the video, which is true, is undated.
- 51:17[SPEAKER_03]: Although, this was to your point about the foliage,
- 51:22[SPEAKER_03]: based on the lack of leaf coverage on the decadestries in the background, it would appear as if the video was shot before last week when he underwent his follow-up examination and a cleanup procedure.
- 51:37[SPEAKER_03]: Man, you really know Fetch to Andrew Mason, who's phenomenally great.
- 51:41[SPEAKER_03]: And he knows Denver, right?
- 51:44[SPEAKER_03]: He knows what he's talking about, but you're really having to stretch.
- 51:50[SPEAKER_03]: If you're trying to base was this yesterday to this happen post Tuesday last week when the news broke of his cleanup procedure on what the foliage looks like relative to like weeks and degrees of the spring that's pretty tough dude.
- 52:06[SPEAKER_03]: That's pretty you're not going to swing a jury is my point yours.
- 52:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's May 4th for you, though, Chad.
- 52:13[SPEAKER_01]: That's there's nothing else going on right now.
- 52:15[SPEAKER_01]: And listen, and this is my opinion, you guys don't have to agree.
- 52:18[SPEAKER_01]: I don't care if that video was shot last October.
- 52:21[SPEAKER_01]: The message is still the message in that he's saying and posturing to the public, he's going to be fine.
- 52:28[SPEAKER_01]: He's okay.
- 52:28[SPEAKER_01]: He's not bogging down in the same headspace that his detractors want him to be and where, oh, he's in a missed the season and he's irreparably injured.
- 52:37[SPEAKER_01]: No, he's not thinking like that.
- 52:41[SPEAKER_03]: But Roy, thank you for bringing it to our attention.
- 52:43[SPEAKER_03]: And as always, buddy, we love having you in the community.
- 52:46[SPEAKER_03]: And thank you for being a member.
- 52:48[SPEAKER_03]: Doc James, speaking of members jumping in on Super Chat.
- 52:52[SPEAKER_03]: Brother, thank you and guys we're about out of time here.
- 52:54[SPEAKER_03]: But Doc says that Bo is solid.
- 52:57[SPEAKER_03]: Can't wait to see him silence haters again.
- 53:00[SPEAKER_03]: Love you, priest, and deacon.
- 53:01[SPEAKER_03]: Let's chill, Axe.
- 53:04[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I mean, I think for the most part, I hope Felisex since last Tuesday, the tone that you are perceiving from MHH is not panic tone, but it's our job to talk about these things, so like even if I share an article on the subject, exactly, on Facebook, for example, like today, I posted a simple meme,
- 53:26[SPEAKER_03]: that said, you know, something like encouraging video in the caption and the meme picture was Bonax.
- 53:31[SPEAKER_03]: And in the text of the caption of the post, I wrote how after the cleanup procedure last week that was reported, Bonax posted this video, blah, blah, blah.
- 53:42[SPEAKER_03]: By even posting that, I would say a quarter of the comments are all, you're blowing this out of proportion.
- 53:48[SPEAKER_03]: He's gonna be fine.
- 53:49[SPEAKER_03]: It's like just because we're talking about it, doesn't mean,
- 53:53[SPEAKER_03]: We're agonizing, doesn't mean we're panicking, doesn't mean we're blowing anything out of proportion.
- 53:58[SPEAKER_03]: This is literally our jobs to analyze and understand and bring to your attention everything that happens surrounding your Denver Broncos, especially Zack, the franchise players.
- 54:10[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and I think the antipysis of your point is also true, Chad, just because we're not that concerned.
- 54:15[SPEAKER_01]: And I've been very lazy, fair about the recovery process.
- 54:19[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not sweating, bonics is timeline in this and that it doesn't mean it's not a small, it's not ideal.
- 54:25[SPEAKER_01]: put it that way, having your franchise quarterback coming off of us to via ankle fracture and having to go through a second surgery, it's all SOP, it's all part of the process, but it's not ideal.
- 54:37[SPEAKER_01]: You want him to be perfectly healthy this time of year.
- 54:39[SPEAKER_01]: So we can't avoid that fact either chat.
- 54:41[SPEAKER_01]: We don't have to be rooting for the sky to follow either in clutching our pearls.
- 54:45[SPEAKER_01]: We're never going to do that around here.
- 54:47[SPEAKER_03]: William, and again, thank you, Doc.
- 54:48[SPEAKER_03]: Very nice to see you, buddy.
- 54:50[SPEAKER_03]: He says, Beau should post another video, William says, of himself running, but before it, show his phone's date LOL.
- 54:58[SPEAKER_03]: This is beyond getting annoying now.
- 54:59[SPEAKER_03]: I know.
- 55:02[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, and Roy, I'll agree with you here, buddy.
- 55:05[SPEAKER_03]: To me, there is no concern unless he starts missing training camp.
- 55:08[SPEAKER_03]: And really, the only reason fans got that pit, a little bit of that pit, and they're stomach when the news broke.
- 55:15[SPEAKER_03]: was that we had been told emphatically from about what was exact a week one was the bonus.
- 55:25[SPEAKER_03]: It was the following week.
- 55:27[SPEAKER_03]: No, it was after the AFC championship game, right?
- 55:29[SPEAKER_03]: So yeah, so it was not the week.
- 55:32[SPEAKER_03]: So if you broke his ankle Saturday night, which it was against the bills, it wasn't that next middle of the week, but the week following after the AFC title game, Sean Peyton had done his end of season press conference, talked about Bose injury, bow, then the next day calls his, or was it the same day?
- 55:49[SPEAKER_03]: Either way, calls his press conference to kind of correct the record on some of the stuff.
- 55:53[SPEAKER_03]: But from that point, even before that point forward, is that all we were hearing from the team was,
- 55:59[SPEAKER_03]: He'll be good by OTAs.
- 56:00[SPEAKER_03]: He'll be good by OTAs.
- 56:02[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, and by the way, along the way, we're just going to continue to say he's ahead of schedule.
- 56:06[SPEAKER_03]: But if you were with us last night, I read that excerpt from Parker Gabriel of the Denver Post who does great work.
- 56:13[SPEAKER_03]: And he cited sources, Zack that said that when they realized that he was going to need a cleanup procedure, they could awaited to do it till after the season.
- 56:21[SPEAKER_03]: But they chose to do it now to just get it out of the way because they felt like they still had plenty of a big enough of a window.
- 56:28[SPEAKER_03]: To get it done and then kill that from being like anything in his psyche is something he has to look forward to in the future like nothing's kind of weigh in on him relative to the injury.
- 56:37[SPEAKER_03]: It's like all in the rear view.
- 56:39[SPEAKER_03]: So that's why they decided to do it.
- 56:40[SPEAKER_03]: And so I agree, Zach, as long as he's there in, you know, we don't yet know when they're kicking off training camp, but it's going to be the last week of July.
- 56:48[SPEAKER_03]: As long as he's there for that.
- 56:51[SPEAKER_03]: Nothing to see here.
- 56:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, maybe I'm being too lazy fair, but I agree with Doc says, I'm okay if you miss his camp to the last preseason game as long as he is a hundred percent by opening day.
- 57:03[SPEAKER_01]: I got to be honest, Doc, I'm kind of gravitating toward that camp as well, and now just right, we talked about that on the podcast as well last night chat that you want boat to have the chemistry down with Jalen Waterland, Jolie and
- 57:14[SPEAKER_01]: Coleman, all the new players, but I'm not worried about that process taking hold.
- 57:19[SPEAKER_01]: I think once he gets back on the field, it won't be long before they're all connecting.
- 57:23[SPEAKER_01]: And if you ever counted bonus out, he'll make you pay.
- 57:25[SPEAKER_01]: Put it that way.
- 57:28[SPEAKER_03]: count on M Blacks to always get your scratch in your head.
- 57:31[SPEAKER_03]: What if, Zach, we didn't get an updated timeline on Nick's from the Broncos, because Peyton didn't want to upset Nick's again.
- 57:41[SPEAKER_03]: It's a fair question, actually.
- 57:43[SPEAKER_03]: Like they might have just been like, you know what, we're just not going to say another word on this because we don't need any blowback whatsoever.
- 57:49[SPEAKER_03]: It might not be motivated by that person per se, but it is interesting.
- 57:54[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I know a test is saying it kind of facetiously here and it's funny, but it doesn't explain how Sean Peyton handled Ray Greenlaw and that injury.
- 58:02[SPEAKER_01]: And it was the same kind of thing.
- 58:03[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, he's a head of schedule.
- 58:04[SPEAKER_01]: You're going to see him soon, see him soon.
- 58:06[SPEAKER_01]: And it took a week's chat before we finally saw him.
- 58:09[SPEAKER_01]: That's, I think it's just Sean Peyton's ammo.
- 58:11[SPEAKER_01]: He likes trolling and messing around with the media.
- 58:13[SPEAKER_03]: Two more quickies here, guys.
- 58:15[SPEAKER_03]: And then we got some messages for you.
- 58:17[SPEAKER_03]: The Mile High Dutch, he Albert Nopper says, Beau will be at the training facility and give 110% on the things he can do.
- 58:23[SPEAKER_03]: Oh yeah, like he reported he'll be there for everything guys.
- 58:27[SPEAKER_03]: It's just like I am still as I said last night won't be completely shocked if when they get out on the field for OTAs in June that he's at least not out there.
- 58:36[SPEAKER_03]: Like even he'll be there watching on the sideline at the very least.
- 58:40[SPEAKER_03]: We know that, but
- 58:41[SPEAKER_03]: I wouldn't be surprised guys if he's out there doing a little drop backs and some of the individual stuff, the main intense activities not going to come till training camp.
- 58:50[SPEAKER_03]: So, but either way, as long as he's there for training camp, that's what matters.
- 58:53[SPEAKER_03]: And then Chase brings up the fact that look, guys, he had the surgery in January.
- 58:58[SPEAKER_03]: So, the fact that he's running at all in the offseason is encouraging, which I think two Zack is a fair point now.
- 59:04[SPEAKER_03]: Guys, we got a couple messages for you.
- 59:06[SPEAKER_03]: Don't go any works.
- 59:07[SPEAKER_03]: We're going to look one more time at the chat.
- 59:09[SPEAKER_03]: Hang tight.
- 59:10[SPEAKER_01]: In the fact that it's May and the season starts in September, so he has five more months.
- 59:14[SPEAKER_01]: I think Bonyx and the Broncos are going to be okay, but that was another tremendous installment.
