- 0:03Speaker 1: All right, we've got some visuals for you on the
- 0:05Speaker 1: YouTube today. So for geek News. First of all, we're
- 0:08Speaker 1: going to start with from time to time, going back
- 0:12Speaker 1: as far as nineteen seventy six, okay, with the arrival
- 0:16Speaker 1: of Superman versus the Amazing Spider Man. The big two
- 0:20Speaker 1: comic brands DC and Marvel have been known to occasionally
- 0:24Speaker 1: get together do a little team up. They did in
- 0:29Speaker 1: two thousand and three, the Justice League of America and
- 0:32Speaker 1: the Avengers did a comic book arc. You know, there's
- 0:34Speaker 1: been a couple of them. Well, they just announced one
- 0:37Speaker 1: that is coming in September. We have the cover, one
- 0:40Speaker 1: of the covers right here. Actually it is Batman and Deadpool.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Oh okay, those are two very deeply disturbed superheroes. Yeah,
- 0:52Speaker 1: for each for their own different reasons. It's the Batman
- 0:56Speaker 1: Deadpool team up. And here's the thing is they usually
- 1:00Speaker 1: there's just one issue put out and it's written by
- 1:03Speaker 1: you know, one person and inked by one person. You know. Okay, Well,
- 1:07Speaker 1: Marvel has decided to do their own and DC is
- 1:10Speaker 1: going to do their own.
- 1:12Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:12Speaker 1: It helps the sales, you know, but will they be
- 1:15Speaker 1: the same story they I don't know. If they will be,
- 1:18Speaker 1: because on the Marvel side you got zeb well zeb
- 1:21Speaker 1: Wells who's been working on Spider Man recently, and he
- 1:24Speaker 1: also helped with the Deadpool and Wolverine script. He pens.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Now there's this called Deadpool Batman, and they got to
- 1:35Speaker 1: Greg Capulo doing the art for that. D C, however,
- 1:38Speaker 1: has brought in Grant Morrison, who whose comics including All
- 1:43Speaker 1: Star Superman and Batman and Son now serve as inspiration
- 1:46Speaker 1: for the James Gunn movies. Okay, they bring in artist
- 1:50Speaker 1: Dan Mora, and there's this Batman Deadpool. Now. The story
- 1:54Speaker 1: will kick off September seventeenth. That tells how Wade Wilson
- 1:57Speaker 1: is hired for a job in Gotham City that puts
- 1:59Speaker 1: him in the crosshairs of the world's greatest detective.
- 2:02Speaker 2: I was gonna say, this looks like they're fighting each other,
- 2:05Speaker 2: not fighting.
- 2:06Speaker 1: When superheroes meet. What's the rule when superheroes meet for
- 2:12Speaker 1: the first time, they have to fight and then and
- 2:15Speaker 1: then they team. Don't be surprised if the Joker shows up.
- 2:19Speaker 1: I'm just saying, I just you know, I got nothing
- 2:21Speaker 1: to go on but my gut.
- 2:22Speaker 2: But I wouldn't. So they're smart at what they do
- 2:25Speaker 2: show up.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Speaking of Deadpool, Ryan Reynolds, who's had tremendous success with
- 2:31Speaker 1: the Deadpool movies, is urging Disney to do an R
- 2:37Speaker 1: rated Star Wars. He says, I pitched this to Disney.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Why not do an R rated Star Wars property. It
- 2:44Speaker 1: doesn't have to be overt A plus characters. There's a
- 2:46Speaker 1: wide range of characters you could use. And I don't
- 2:48Speaker 1: mean R rated to be vulgar. Are rated as a
- 2:51Speaker 1: trojan horse for emotion. I always wondered why studios don't
- 2:55Speaker 1: just want to gamble on something like that. I'm not
- 2:57Speaker 1: saying I want to be in it. I'd want to
- 2:59Speaker 1: produce or right or be a part of behind the scenes,
- 3:02Speaker 1: but I mean after and or believe, isn't and or adult?
- 3:07Speaker 1: You could say it's PG thirteen, Okay, absolutely, leaning leaning are.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Well's back up to the Batman Deadpool comic book. Yes,
- 3:19Speaker 2: movie will happen like that sounds like a pile of money.
- 3:22Speaker 2: You don't think they'd make a movie.
- 3:23Speaker 1: No, it would make a pile of money. It wasn't
- 3:25Speaker 1: too difficult for those two studios. It's getting these it's
- 3:28Speaker 1: getting Warner Brothers and Disney's to sit in a room
- 3:30Speaker 1: together longer than ten minutes without stomping out. That's see,
- 3:33Speaker 1: that's they're just where they'd be. Uh. Speaking of Disney
- 3:37Speaker 1: and their character The Vision. You remember Vision, don't you?
- 3:41Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 3:41Speaker 1: Paul Bettany, Paul Betany. He's getting his own TV series,
- 3:44Speaker 1: the Vision called Vision Quest and they have cast a character.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Bring up that picture of Jocasta.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Uh.
- 3:52Speaker 1: This is a This is a character from No that's
- 3:55Speaker 1: that's green Lantern. We're gonna get to him. Joe Costa
- 3:59Speaker 1: is a robot that Ultron built to be his bride, Yeah,
- 4:07Speaker 1: who eventually sides with the Avengers. And so they have
- 4:11Speaker 1: cast t neam Miller from the Fall of the House
- 4:14Speaker 1: of Usher in the Vision series to play this character,
- 4:18Speaker 1: Joe Costa, who is a robot robot lady. So maybe
- 4:23Speaker 1: Vision will find love I mean Wanda. He had Wanda,
- 4:27Speaker 1: but she's dead, right? But is anyone really dead? All right? Okay, Uh,
- 4:32Speaker 1: let's get to the Alex Ross picture. There we go.
- 4:36Speaker 1: This is a This is an artist, comic book artist
- 4:40Speaker 1: Alex Ross, who's very well known, renown and the reason
- 4:44Speaker 1: that he is special and different is that he draws
- 4:47Speaker 1: the comic book characters to look like real people. Uh,
- 4:51Speaker 1: you know, so you can see wrinkles in Spider Man's suit,
- 4:54Speaker 1: you know, things like that. That's how he draws them,
- 4:57Speaker 1: is to look like real people. He's got an art piece,
- 5:01Speaker 1: an art exhibit coming up June twenty eighth. Oh no wait,
- 5:05Speaker 1: it's June twenty ninth through February sixteenth. If you happen
- 5:08Speaker 1: to be in Illinois, someone might just google a Night
- 5:12Speaker 1: with Alex Ross and it will. It's the dun Museum
- 5:16Speaker 1: and you can go and take a look at all
- 5:18Speaker 1: of his work. Let's bring up the Guy Gardner picture. Now.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Appearing as a guest on a podcast, Nathan Fillion revealed
- 5:27Speaker 1: his portrayal of Guy Gardner. That's not Nathan Fillion, it's
- 5:31Speaker 1: Nathan Fillion. Now. Guy Gardner is one of the green
- 5:35Speaker 1: lantern cores. Todd. There are many green lanterns, and the
- 5:39Speaker 1: thing about Guy Gardner is he's a jerk and you
- 5:43Speaker 1: can always spot him because of his bad haircut. I
- 5:45Speaker 1: was gonna say, Todd, you'll appreciate this. He's got that
- 5:47Speaker 1: Al Davis haircut. Yeah. And so they asked him. He says,
- 5:52Speaker 1: where did you draw upon your characterization of Guy Gardner
- 5:56Speaker 1: and he says, well, of course the comic books. But
- 5:57Speaker 1: I took most of my inspiration from the oldest cast
- 6:01Speaker 1: member of the Golden Girls, imblance stell Getty. Sophia Petrillo
- 6:07Speaker 1: just said whatever she wanted to say. There was no filter,
- 6:10Speaker 1: just whatever it is, there it is, She's gonna say it.
- 6:13Speaker 1: So that's what you can expect of Nathan Fillian as
- 6:15Speaker 1: being a good looking person.
- 6:16Speaker 2: And that's.
- 6:20Speaker 1: And finally this he's been re kein rated and Kudi
- 6:24Speaker 1: Goatwa who is the current Doctor Who. Okay, he's going
- 6:28Speaker 1: to be a Barbie, but this is not his first
- 6:31Speaker 1: time he's been bar was he in the Barbie He
- 6:33Speaker 1: was in the Barbie movie. He's a kid, all right,
- 6:35Speaker 1: So there you go. You saw my joke at coming.
- 6:38Speaker 1: But he's he and his companion are going to be
- 6:41Speaker 1: Barbie's and there's a picture of him right there. Ruby
- 6:44Speaker 1: Sunday is his companion. She's the first Doctor Who companion
- 6:47Speaker 1: who will be a Barbie. There have been other Barbies
- 6:49Speaker 1: that have been Doctor Who Barbie's, but they'll be They're
- 6:52Speaker 1: available now through Mattel Creations. So there you go a
- 6:55Speaker 1: little bit of geek news. I didn't have much, so
- 7:00Speaker 1: I thought the pictures might help
