- 0:00Unilever cut order handling from 20 minutes to 90 seconds for retailers. This is MAG 7 Daily, episode
- 0:0534. After that, an NVIDIA cage for enterprise agents, Gemini in Amazda, and a court order
- 0:12on meta. Then the counterpoint, the thread, and the calendar. Unilever has put five Microsoft
- 0:18agents built on Foundry onto the orders that still show up as email, a PDF, a spreadsheet,
- 0:24or a photo. Microsoft's own write-up says the company serves about 300,000 direct
- 0:30customers, and that 3.7 billion people use a unilever product every day. Four of the
- 0:36agents read the message and pull the order out. A fifth checks their work. Francis Castro,
- 0:41who runs technology for customer operations, says those pilot orders are eight times faster
- 0:47than before. Refund claims move twice as fast. New customer onboarding is down 90%. Microsoft
- 0:54Airsoft engineers sat with Unilever and built the claims check in under eight weeks.
- 0:58Thousands of orders have already gone through in production.
- 1:02In video today published the Open Shell reference architecture, a full stack for building
- 1:07and fencing enterprise agents on top of the secure runtime it had already outlined.
- 1:12Engineering.com carries the claims.
- 1:15Vera Rubin NVL72 is said to deliver 30 times the throughput per megawatt on agent work.
- 1:21Various CPUs are said to run at twice an X86 chip, and they host the OpenShell boundary.
- 1:27Bluefield 4 runs Sentry.
- 1:29If an agent steps outside its software fence, Sentry quarantines it in milliseconds.
- 1:35The same software is said to lift agent capacity by as much as 20%.
- 1:40ServiceNow says ARC, a personal agent that keeps running, is generally available.
- 1:44Policies travel to OpenShell in Sentry, and access can be pulled across software and hardware
- 1:49within seconds. Nvidia says the stack can sit on Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, and Microsoft
- 1:56Azure, including Windows through Microsoft Execution Containers, and can host agents from Google,
- 2:02Meta, and OpenAI. Mazda Canada on October 26 turned Google Gemini on for eligible owners of the
- 2:10new CX-5 with Google built-in. A driver can talk in ordinary language, then follow up for navigation,
- 2:16location, maps traffic, Spotify, YouTube music, a hands-free message, or a supported control
- 2:22such as climate.
- 2:23A task started on the phone can continue in the car through compatible Google services.
- 2:28Amy Fleming, Mazda Canada's president and chief executive, said the point is technology
- 2:33that stays in the background so the driver stays on the road.
- 2:37The Canadian Retail Network behind that car is 163 stores.
- 2:41Apple has been blocking eMudra's compromised TLS since October 19th, in Safari, Mail,
- 2:49and Apps that use Apple's own networking frameworks.
- 2:52Mac rumors is drawing that from Apple's support note.
- 2:55A researcher found weak private keys on eight of the Indian firms Intermediate Certificate
- 3:00Authority certificates.
- 3:01Those keys could have let someone impersonate a real site.
- 3:05Apple says there is no evidence yet that anyone used them that way.
- 3:08day. Most devices get the block with no software update. Command line tools on Mac OS can
- 3:14still accept the certificates until an update rewrites the default cert file. Until then,
- 3:19an administrator can pull the root certificates out of that file by hand. A New Mexico judge
- 3:24on Wednesday ordered Meta to pay $25 billion over how it handled Facebook user data. Business
- 3:31Matters reports that Meta plans to appeal. Apart from that order, the board plans to give
- 3:36Mark Zuckerberg, who is 42, class C shares with no vote, so he could sell them against
- 3:41a possible California billionaire tax and keep control.
- 3:45He owns about 13% of meta and controls about 61% of the votes.
- 3:50He told the board that selling the shares he already holds to pay that tax would drop
- 3:54his voting power to 53%.
- 3:57He has pledged to keep living in California for the next 8 years.
- 4:01The tax on the ballot is a one-off 5% charge on the assets of any billionaire who lives in
- 4:06the state on January 1st, 2026. A special committee called the talks with him
- 4:10protracted and, at several points, contentious, and said his presence at the
- 4:15Menlo Park headquarters was critical. Springer Nature and Google Deep Mind have
- 4:20started a research partnership on an assistant that helps a reviewer move
- 4:24through a manuscript, its charts and its figures, without taking the judgment away
- 4:28from the person. Research information says a prototype is already in test. It uses
- 4:33Google's open-source agent development kit, and it runs inside Springer Nature's private
- 4:38Gemini Enterprise environment.
- 4:40So the manuscripts used to build it stay on Springer Nature's own infrastructure.
- 4:45The work sits on Google tools already in the world, scholar peer and deep review, and
- 4:50on Springer Nature's publishing platform Snap.
- 4:53Saskia Steinacker, Springer Nature's chief product officer, said reviewer expertise is
- 4:58still fundamental, and that innovation and trust have to move together.
- 5:02Seshu Ajarapu, senior director of Applied AI at Google DeepMind, said the aim is a review
- 5:08pace that can match the volume of submissions without dropping journal standards.
- 5:13Victor Yin now runs much of Apple's display work, after years underway Chen and John
- 5:18Zhang.
- 5:19Mac rumors has that from Mark Gurman.
- 5:22Chen and Zhang have each spent about 30 years at Apple.
- 5:25They are shifting to narrower jobs as advisors.
- 5:28In a hand-off, Gurman says has been underway for several years.
- 5:31teachers. October promotions made Rajesh Ambadi, Louis Sanguinedi, and Derek Schaefer
- 5:37Vice Presidents over connectivity hardware and software. Those moves followed Johnny
- 5:42Srujee's expanded job as Chief Hardware Officer, with hardware engineering and hardware technologies
- 5:48both under him.
- 5:50German also says some hardware program managers were laid off in recent weeks, as Srujee and
- 5:55Chief Executive John Ternis take out layers of management. Elsewhere, publishers have asked
- 6:01regulators in the European Union and the United Kingdom to block Meta's AI terms.
- 6:06Google named Dr. Anne Claire Grammer, a licensed clinical psychologist and an adjunct clinical
- 6:12assistant professor at Stanford, as senior clinical specialist for mental health to tighten
- 6:17how Gemini answers those questions.
- 6:19She wrote that more than a billion people use the Gemini app every month.
- 6:24Amazon Web Services launched Lambda Web Functions for HTTP apps.
- 6:28File AI signed a Strategic Collaboration Agreement with Amazon Web Services to speed outcome-driven
- 6:34AI agents for leaders in banking, financial services, and insurance.
- 6:39Amazon has settled a kick-back lawsuit with former AWS managers.
- 6:44The next web says, citing GeekWire.
- 6:47Tesla has asked a judge to void an Arkansas commission's demand for documents on its North
- 6:51Little Rock site.
- 6:53Apple has started handing store staff a scanner that checks a sealed iPhone and runs
- 6:57diagnostics, so a returned box can go back on the shelf.
- 7:02German says the rollout began earlier this month on the same hardware stores already
- 7:06used to update a phone in the box and to put a greeting on iPhone Duo.
- 7:11Accenture Federal Services and Google Public Sector launched Gemini Launch Pads for Federal
- 7:16Missions.
- 7:17The 92nd figure cuts against itself once you leave the pilot.
- 7:21Castro's timing covers 11 markets, about 2 million orders a year still arrive in messy
- 7:26formats out of about 20 million, and those are the orders Nova is meant to catch.
- 7:31Unilever wants the system in more than 50 markets.
- 7:35Inside the pilots, 95% of orders are touchless, and a person still takes the exceptions.
- 7:41Deepalock Roy Choudry said people were apprehensive when it started.
- 7:45The rate that matters is the touchless share after those 50 markets are live, not the share
- 7:50inside the 11.
- 7:51Amazon and Alphabet already share one Korean banking group.
- 7:55More than 2,000 servers and more than 100 services for KB Financial already sit on Amazon
- 8:01Web Services.
- 8:02In 2020, KB became the first South Korean financial group to sign a corporate contract
- 8:07for AWS Financial Cloud, Seoul Economic Daily Reports.
- 8:12AWS has invited the group's AI executives and staff from KB Cookeman Bank to its Executive
- 8:18Briefing Center.
- 8:19Alphabet is not waiting outside. In July, KB and Google Cloud built KB Davis, a Gemini
- 8:26tool for data analysis, and KB star Bioli, a Gemini tool for customer conversations.
- 8:33The bank is now trying to join AWS, Google Cloud, and its own AI system so the data can
- 8:38move among them. The 2020 deal was a second cloud, not a replacement. KB added AWS to its
- 8:45platform Cleon, so one provider would not be a single point of failure, and so new AWS
- 8:50technology could reach financial services faster.
- 8:54The newer pieces models, Amazon Bedrock lets an affiliate call an outside model, including
- 8:59Anthropics Clawed, Inside AWS Security Controls, without training that model itself.
- 9:06Three affiliate jobs are named, an investment product information service at KBASET Management,
- 9:11An employee development platform at KB Securities, a real estate information service at KB Cuchman
- 9:18Bank.
- 9:19In July this year, the bank opened the KBAI Dev Center.
- 9:23A developer describes a function in ordinary language, and AI helps with design, coding,
- 9:29and testing.
- 9:30AWS supplied the technical support for that environment and for monitoring it.
- 9:34So Amazon is in the software factory, and Alphabet already has two named Gemini tools in the
- 9:40same group.
- 9:40A deeper AWS briefing, which the paper says AWS asked for after looking at how KB built
- 9:47its AI framework, is a fight for the next workload between two suppliers KB already uses.
- 9:53For Amazon, a 2020 infrastructure account is moving into agent-style development on an
- 9:58invitation AWS extended.
- 10:01For Alphabet, those two Gemini tools mean any new AWS scope is one against an incumbent.
- 10:06For KB, more of the design-to-test loop sits on a vendor runtime, and the data path between
- 10:12the two clouds limits how far either assistant can go.
- 10:16A KB official said an invitation to talk with senior AWS people is itself meaningful,
- 10:21and that the group will look at more technical support and at how overseas financial firms
- 10:26use AI.
- 10:27Do Hey-Won wrote the piece for Soul Economic Daily.
- 10:30It was translated from Korean by machine, and the paper warns that quotes may not match
- 10:35the original wording. On the calendar, Apple's pro-and-tell event is Wednesday, October 28th,
- 10:41at 10 in the morning Pacific, in Los Angeles. Mark Gurman expects 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook
- 10:47Pros with touch-enabled OLED screens to be unveiled there. California's vote on November
- 10:533rd on the one-off billionaire wealth tax that Metta's Class C Award is built to let Zuckerberg pay
- 10:58without selling voting shares. Before we go, the date still open on that Korean briefing is later
- 11:04this month when KB's AI executives are due at Amazon's Executive Briefing Center.
