- 1:11Well, now it's time for today's episode of Yours Truly Johnny Dollar The Indestructible
- 1:17Mic Matter, Parts one and two from Hollywood. It's time now for Johnny
- 1:26Dollar, Pat mccrack and Johnny Universal Adjustment Bureau. Oh no, how are
- 1:30you boy? Terrible? Goodbye, Johnny? What's the matter? Well,
- 1:34the last one you had to me was that funny Spiritualist case, and it's
- 1:37still haunting me. Before that it was Larry Douglas. Douglas of Headscope.
- 1:41Oh you made money on him, didn't you. Yeah, I nearly lodged
- 1:44my mind. All right, I've got one for you now that'll surely make
- 1:47you lose your mind. Johnny, come on over, Okay, goodnight,
- 1:57and every weekday Night Bailey. In the transcribed Adventures of the Man with the
- 2:01Action Packed Expense Account, America's fabulous freelance insurance investigator, Yours truly, Shohnny
- 2:07Dollar expense accounts submitted by Special Investigator Johnny Dollar to the Lakeside Life and Casualty
- 2:27Insurance Company following his accounting of expenditures during my investigation of the indestructible mic Matter
- 2:37expense account out of one eighty cents cab fare from my apartment of the Officer
- 2:40Pat McCracken at Universal Adjustment Bureau. Every one of the cases Patt had handed
- 2:45me Laby had been rough, and if it weren't for the loot involved,
- 2:47which is to say, Pat never really cracked down on my expense accounts.
- 2:52Well, after all, I didn't have any of the cases pending. So
- 2:58Hi, Johnny, Hey, you're looking great. Sit down cigarette, would
- 3:04you like to drink? Well, how are you boy? Okay, Pat,
- 3:07let's have it. This one must really be bad, like, Johnny,
- 3:10what makes you say a thing like that? You sure you wouldn't like
- 3:14just one little no, no, no, no, no, no thanks.
- 3:15Now come on, let's get to the point. What are you trying
- 3:17to get out of paying off on the start? You want the truth,
- 3:20Johnny? Nothing, nothing at all, Just a favor for a friend of
- 3:23mine down in New York. Yeah, I want you to go down and
- 3:24see Peter Branson. Branson any relation to that worry ward Harry Branson a filly
- 3:30mutual well brother, whoops, hit yourself? Another boy band, Johnny,
- 3:34Johnny, he's as different from Harry as day is from night. Well,
- 3:37he better be that literal minded sticking them out of Harry and there he drove
- 3:39me crazy on those two cases I handled for He is different as day is
- 3:44from night. Honest, now when you see him, Expenser con Item two
- 3:49twenty one, even train fair and all the incidentals I could think of hard
- 3:52for to New York Item three fifty five cents taxi from Grand Central the Peter
- 3:57Branson's Lakeside Life and Casualty Offices at five hundred and fifth Avenue, or where
- 4:00my worst fears were justified. That is correct, mister dollar, I am
- 4:06not only Harry's brother. Don't tell me here is twin? Why? Yes?
- 4:10How could you have guessed it? Oh? But now, wait a
- 4:12minute. Did you say you took a taxi for the three blocks over from
- 4:15the station. Yeah, at least that's what goes on the expense account.
- 4:17Oh dear, my brother was right. You are expensive, and yet he
- 4:20seems to have the utmost confidence in your ability. Yeah, but now an
- 4:24amazing way in which you settled that. Uh pete, Yes, what's the
- 4:28case that's bothering you? Isn't that interesting? I don't know yet, Tell
- 4:32me about it. I mean you're starting to call me Harry because of my
- 4:34twin. Oh yeah, better tell me about the case. You know a
- 4:38great many of our mutual friends. What oh? Oh, yes, of
- 4:42course, Michael Jeremiah Flynn a terribly serious matter. If this sort of thing
- 4:45ever gets out of Flynn John he is a bummer, a regular typical movie
- 4:49type version of a Bowery bump, And unfortunately he holds a fifty thousand dollars
- 4:53policy. Well, he must have seen better days to carry that much insurance
- 4:57ever never, I'm sure of it. No human being could degenerate to such
- 5:00a state in a mere forty seven years. And he looks and sounds like
- 5:02sixty seven. Also, by the way, his policy is only two months
- 5:05old. Well, what's happened? Somebody knocked him off? No, but
- 5:08I am sure somebody is going to Well then, why did you ensure him?
- 5:12It was Martha who was really responsible. Martha Ingersol, the girl I
- 5:15had working for me here in the office at the time he applied for the
- 5:17policy. I was out sick for a couple of weeks, and I'm afraid
- 5:19that when I came back I did not pay sufficient attention to the application she'd
- 5:24accepted, at least so far as Flynn's policy is concerned. You'd better tell
- 5:27me about him. Oh, of course, he passed his medical all right,
- 5:30though heaven knows how, and his cash payment of the premium was all
- 5:32right, yes, yes, cash. But I still should have investigated myself
- 5:35before allowing the policy to be issued. Look, you still haven't told me
- 5:39what's wrong now? Of course it's too late, Pete. Oh, oh,
- 5:43of course. Well it's simply this. The home address that we have
- 5:46for him has turned out to be the glad Hand Rescue Mission just off Fulton
- 5:49Street near the Fulton Market. Yeah. Biggest fish market in the world,
- 5:53isn't it. Well, yes, yes, a fascinating place. Chip sloaded
- 5:58with fish from all the Seven Seas characters speaking a dozen different tons. Yeah,
- 6:01well, I'm sorry I interrupted what you were saying. Oh, that's
- 6:04all right, that's all right. I'm quite a connoisseur of seafood, you
- 6:08know, real epicure if I do say so. Have you ever tasted Boston
- 6:13Squad? Yeah? Sure. Uh now, let's get back to the case.
- 6:17Oh oh yes, Michael Flint, Michael Flynt. That's right. Well,
- 6:21mister dalla John, it's simply because of what's happened before that I'm so
- 6:27worried about this one. After all, fifty thousand is a sizable part of
- 6:30what has happened before the same thing. So you can see Harry, uh,
- 6:34Pete, I can't see a thing, John. It's like the Angus
- 6:38Cormac matter back in forty seven, like the old Woman Berry affair. That
- 6:45trying to tie Peter Branson down to the facts of the case was exactly like
- 6:48trying to tie his brother Harry down, only more so I had to keep
- 6:53reminding myself that all of Harry's assignments had paid off handsomely for me, and
- 6:56keep hoping the same would be true of his brother. For times in the
- 7:00next fifteen minutes, Pete launched forth on the epicurean delights of seafood, and
- 7:04three times I vainly tried to steer him back to ports. Finally I threatened
- 7:09to walk out on him unless he got down to business. All right,
- 7:12all right, John, I'll give it to you in black and white.
- 7:14Oh not literally, of course, I mean I'll tell you from the beginning
- 7:16at a boy. Now. Four times within the past few years, this
- 7:19very same sort of policy has been issued to some pennelss worthless bomb. Yes,
- 7:24and everything is indicated fraud. What do you mean in only one case
- 7:28where the police able to prove anything, the case of Maggie Dolly Varden Smith.
- 7:30Oh yeah, seems to me. I remember that's some racket teer x
- 7:33bootlegger direct candy kid show. He ensured the old derelict for twenty thirty thousand
- 7:39dollars, had himself named beneficiary, and it is correct, and then he
- 7:41had old Maggie murdered of course you remain and you think you've got the same
- 7:45sort of a situation here. Yes, John, I'm afraid so. And
- 7:47you can't cancel the policy unless this proof of an attempt at fraud correct.
- 7:51So you can see why I'm so deeply concerned over this. If only I
- 7:56hadn't left Martha Ingersol in charge while I was sick. Who's named is beneficiary
- 8:00in the post? She did sell some good policies beneficiary. Oh yes,
- 8:03here here it is John Wesley Cosgrave, six to one East forty ninth Street
- 8:09here in Manhattan. What do you know about him? Nothing? Really,
- 8:13And frankly I'm afraid to find out, John, Yeah, yeah, I'll
- 8:16look into it. And what's the address of this rescue mission where all Michael
- 8:20hangs out. It's down near the big Fulton fish Market. Let me see
- 8:24here. Why don't you give me that whole folder so I can get what
- 8:26I want from it? Of course, John, But I am sorely afraid
- 8:31there isn't much to get. I'm sorely afraid. Peter was right. When
- 8:35I had to start somewhere. I had them four two eighty taxi back to
- 8:39Grand Central to pick up the bags i'd parked there in the same taxi to
- 8:43a slightly dingy little hotel a couple of blocks off Chambers Street on the Lower
- 8:46east Side. I had them five nine dollars eighty three cents to a second
- 8:50hand clothing store, where I outfitted myself in hat, coat, pants,
- 8:54shirt, shoes and socks that I hope would make me eligible for a spot
- 8:58on a bench at the glad Hand Rescue Mission. When I finally shuffle into
- 9:01the place, which looked more like a cheap flophouse than a mission, I
- 9:05felt somewhat like a kid playing tramp at Halloween. Welcome, brother, Welcome
- 9:11to the mission. I'm daddy Bill. Hi. The entrance to the soup
- 9:15kitchen is over at the side, you know. Yeah, Well, I
- 9:18just want to sit down for a spell, rest my feet, and have
- 9:20you a bed for the night? Brother? Oh? Who nos? I
- 9:24my god, there's always room for one more, you know. Will you
- 9:26be here for our meeting tonight? Well? I don't have an excellent singing
- 9:31voice, I can tell. Are you sure you don't want something to eat?
- 9:33My boy? Nah? No, I'm all right. Well then just
- 9:37itn't be comfortable and we can talk. Uh. I kind of hope maybe
- 9:41I might run into Mike Mike Flynn. Oh, yes, of course Michael
- 9:46lives here, spends most of his evenings with us, poor fellow, although
- 9:50I really shouldn't say that, huh, say one, poor fellow. After
- 9:54all, he's also one of our biggest contributors to when he's sober. Although
- 9:58where his money comes from I'll never know. Yeah, well, although I'm
- 10:01sure it's money honestly gained. Michael's very religious, He's taken the pledge many
- 10:07times many has a lot of money now. And yes, he seemed to
- 10:09think he might have a contribution for us when he comes back tonight. But
- 10:13you don't know where he gets. My boy, I never ask these personal
- 10:16things of the brothers. Now, tell me all about you. You're from
- 10:22out of town, aren't you. I can tell this was something I hadn't
- 10:26anticipated, and I had to rack my brain to come up with a story
- 10:30that would convince Daddy Bill. I was a bum when I could get a
- 10:33word in edgewise, there is and a kindly gabby old biddy proceeded to tell
- 10:37me, in my nute detail, the life history of all of the habituats
- 10:39of his mission, all that is, except the one I was interested in
- 10:43Mike Flynn. Maybe he was suspicious of me, afraid I might be trying
- 10:46to get my hands on some of the money. Or Mike frequently showed up
- 10:50with you interest in the extreme, John, That's why I feel I must
- 10:52protect him from some of the people who come in here and might try to
- 10:56take advantage of him. Sure, Daddy, responsibility for the care and welfare
- 11:00of the brothers weighs heavily upon me sometimes, but it's a burden I'm glad
- 11:05to bear. Yeah, feed their stomachs and feed their souls. That is
- 11:09my task. You say, your thing, and as I say, it's
- 11:11a task I'm privileged to assume. After all, who else have they to
- 11:15lean on. You think Mike will be back here? And I, yes,
- 11:18John, I'm sure he will. But listen the quartete in the well
- 11:24we call it in the music room. Can you hear them? Oh?
- 11:28Yeah, they're getting ready for the meeting tonight, aren't they? Wonderful?
- 11:31Beautiful voices? You're sure you won't join them? Oh? No, some
- 11:39of the time, now, whever you say. But if you're going to
- 11:43stay here long, my boy, with that wonderful voice of yours, I
- 11:46can tell I will insist that you join one of our singings. Yeah,
- 11:50but Mike again, Oh did you hear that someone hit a solid note?
- 11:56Oh? Boys, they just can't get along without my help. You'll just
- 11:58have to excuse use me, John, while I go back there and lead
- 12:01for him. I'll come back later. We will call. I don't know
- 12:11whether it was the overuse of steam heat in the battered old assembly hall on
- 12:13the mission, or having listened to two sound hours of Daddy Bill's talk about
- 12:18his boys. Whatever it was, I retired, and since I had nothing
- 12:26better to do than wait for Mike Flinn to show up, I stretched out
- 12:30on one of the hard benches and closed my eyes. Hm hmm, how
- 12:35long I slept? I haven't the least idea I'd managed to conjure up on
- 12:41Whney Sweet Dream too. What? Oh there, Hold, you had a
- 12:52couple of different He's out back working with a quartet. Now, come on
- 12:58over here, and I guess Michael Michael Jeremiah Flynn's there. I guess,
- 13:03I guess. I guess I have had a couple of a couple too many?
- 13:09Was right, but none of what I'd thought. His tattered code opened
- 13:15as he fell and they are just below the heart too. Dark red splotches
- 13:18slowly widened on his ragged shirt, and it looked like Peter Branson was right.
- 13:22The beneficiary of Michael Jeremiah Flynn's life insurance policy was anxious to collect Johnny
- 13:45dollar. John This message I found when I came here. Yeah, Pete,
- 13:46somebody took a couple of shots at your fifty thousand dollars client, Mike
- 13:50Flynn. Will he die? From the looks of things last night. He
- 13:54may pull through in spite of the two slugs in him, I hope.
- 13:56So. Do you know who did it? No idea, but I'm going
- 13:58to try to talk to him. Have you talked to the beneficiary? Not
- 14:01yet. First I want whatever information I can get from Mike if he's still
- 14:05alive. Expense account submitted by Special investigator Johnny Dolly, Location, New York,
- 14:16New York, Attention Peter Branson, Lakeside Life and Casually Insurance Company.
- 14:20Following is the counting of expendit yours during my investigation of the indestructible mic matter
- 14:31expense account Item six fifty five cents taxi to the neighborhood of the glad Hand
- 14:35Rescue Mission where Daddy Bill, a general fact Totem had promised to take the
- 14:39best of care of Michael Jeremiah Flynn. He'd given Mike a run to himself
- 14:43on the second floor, and what a roam. What wallpaper was left hung
- 14:46in shreds from the cracked plaster. The shades on the dirty windows were tatted
- 14:50and torn. A single bare fly speck light bulb hung on a cord from
- 14:54the ceiling. The floor was bare, and the only furniture was a battered
- 14:58chest at drawers, an ancient washtand with a crack pitcher and ball, and
- 15:01a sagging iron bed on which old Mike Flynn lay. Come in, Hi,
- 15:09you must be the man that helped me into the mission last night.
- 15:13Yeah. Yeah, my name's Johnny Dollar. Come up to see how you're
- 15:16making out where. I much oblige you, Johnny, I'm real obliged to
- 15:20you. Wow, how are you feeling this morning? You all? I'm
- 15:22fine, I'm fine. It never felt better. Well, what did the
- 15:28doctor that Daddy Bill got for? You have to see the doctor for me
- 15:31own, Johnny. You must be joking, joking after you had a couple
- 15:35of slugs tear through you. Here, let me help you. Oh you
- 15:37want to see him, ses, I just look for yourself here. Ah,
- 15:41you see see they just went through my side here in the front and
- 15:46out the back. Aren't they heating up nicely? That one couldn't have missed
- 15:50your heart by more than three inches. It did not nearly the closest this
- 15:56scar though. I want to see this guy look at it. That here?
- 16:00Was that a bullet wound too? No, no, no, Johnny,
- 16:03that was just an little ice pick or something somebody in the crowd during
- 16:06that fire down the battery, lad. Oh wasn't that a beautiful fire?
- 16:11Johnny? You see that? But what did these slugs do to you inside?
- 16:15You must be to me, Oh, not a thing. I'm so
- 16:18durable. We don't wait a minute. Did you say there was another attempt
- 16:21on your life last week? Oh? No, no, no, course,
- 16:22not just an accident like those shots last night. You think that was
- 16:26an accident. Why don't you do you know who fire them? Oh?
- 16:30Johnny, I haven't the least ideas Where did it happen? I was right
- 16:33here in the mission and I didn't hear any shots. Oh dear, no,
- 16:37I was down near my private place. Where's that? Where's that?
- 16:41Mike, Well, I'll tell you, darny, it's this way. Daddy
- 16:48Bill and the others here at the mission are real nice. Oh they're real
- 16:52nice. You can see by this lovely private room they fixed up on me.
- 16:56Yeah, and they'd like for me to stay here all the time.
- 17:00I guess Daddy Bill thinks if I'm here most of the time, I might
- 17:03not drink so much and keep getting into those kinds of skull. See.
- 17:06Do you ever enjoy a little drink, Johnny? Well, on occasion,
- 17:10but you were gonna talk. Oh. Here, I've got a little bottle
- 17:14tucked under the mattress, one under the sun. Is that that? That
- 17:19that color? That pink? Yes, that's my favorite. That paint a
- 17:23straight whiskey. It costs so much, even when I have the money.
- 17:27Now, And you know something, I like a little bit more kick in
- 17:30mine. I guess it's kind of a hangover from the prohibition days, so
- 17:34I mix a little kick into it. Here, Johnny, I want you
- 17:37to try this. Oh you like this? Oh? What a wallet?
- 17:48What? Yes? What that stern? That's what I add to it,
- 17:52Just a little bit of stern. Oh, I've been drinking that for years.
- 17:57Look at me. The picture of health. Just take a little I'm
- 18:00going to get to a doctor. Oh no, you're not. I won't
- 18:03stand for it. But you've been shot. Oh just gave me a little
- 18:07twinge or two last night, But now I feel fine. Well, you
- 18:11fell flat on your face when you came in here. Now listen, Johnny,
- 18:15don't you tell daddy Bill. But I'm afraid it wasn't the bullets last
- 18:19night. It was over indo, brother, I gave up. No,
- 18:26no, don't say that. Oh all right, then how did that happen?
- 18:29Well? I was on my way back here when the car drove by.
- 18:33That sounded to me like a couple of backfires or two. But then
- 18:37I felt this little sting on my side and that's it. And you call
- 18:42that an accident, Well, of course the man in the car will probably
- 18:45just have a little friendly How many men, Well, I'm not sure.
- 18:48I think there were only two of them. I waved at it. What
- 18:51kind of a car? Black? Well? What make? Could you tell?
- 18:53Well? It was shiny, it was new. See I wish I
- 18:56had a car, Johnny. Look, Mike, I'm on a level with
- 18:59you. I'm an insurance investigator. Insuresy. Well, let's say you that's
- 19:06interesting, Johnny. Say let's have a little drink on that while you tell
- 19:10me no, no, And there isn't much to tell except that I'm here
- 19:14to try to save your life, among other things. Well, no,
- 19:15I don't understand that. I'm getting along all right. I've been living it
- 19:19up here in the Bowery for years. Maybe you were getting along okay until
- 19:22you took out that big insurance policy. Yeah. Oh, say, wasn't
- 19:26that nice? And mister Cosgrave, Now, all my life I wanted to
- 19:29have some life insurance. You know, it gives you a kind of feeling
- 19:32of importance and security. So when he came down here one night and I
- 19:36told him that, I say, his eyes just lit up, and he
- 19:40said he was going to make me a person of some insurance. Oh is
- 19:41this Cosgrave? How much you know about it? Oh? Always wealthy,
- 19:45I know that much about He has a beautiful car, and the shoulders they
- 19:48come down here often. Now I'm in just now, I'm why Now,
- 19:52I've often wondered about that, Johnny. So one time I asked Daddy Bill
- 19:56and he said that years ago, when mister Cosgrave, he was young,
- 20:00he came to the Mission for help and Daddy Bill gave it to him.
- 20:03Oh what does he do when he's here? Oh he brings some food for
- 20:07the brothers and the brothers, that's what Daddy Bill calls us, and some
- 20:11money. And he always gives jobs to a couple of men who've drifted in
- 20:15the aim. What kind of jobs, Mike? You know that's something I
- 20:18don't know. You see they never come back here again. Maybe it's because
- 20:22they can't. What's that? What do you say, Jenny, Mike,
- 20:25I'm going to give it to you straight to me. The whole thing smells
- 20:29to high heaven. I mean, this Cosgrave sounds like a racketeer or may
- 20:30be wrong. I'll know better when I meet him, and I intend to
- 20:33do that as soon as possible. But right this minute, I bet that
- 20:37he comes down here for only one purpose, to recruit help for some sort
- 20:40of illegal job. Oh that's terrible thought. When he heard you say you'd
- 20:42like insurance, he jumped at the chance. And why not let you name
- 20:47him as beneficiary? And then have you knocked off? Oh a nice picking
- 20:49your side was no accident, Mike, No more than the shots at your
- 20:52last night. He's been so nugh sure, of course, he has he
- 20:55can afford to. After all, your body's worth fifty thousand dollars to him.
- 21:00And that's what you're gonna be, Mike, just a body unless I
- 21:02can do something about it. Such a nice man. How has he been
- 21:04getting this money to you? In an envelope? Usually it's just left hit
- 21:08the mission. Well, nobody ever seems to know. It's just a plain
- 21:12envelopes dropped in the maildress. No, no, no, no, but
- 21:15I'm sure it comes mister Cosgray. So there was one dude yesterday every Monday,
- 21:22you know, but Daddy Bill said it didn't arive. Well maybe it'll
- 21:26be here today. And you know something, I'd like to see it deliver.
- 21:29No you and you can't kid me, Johnny, you'd like to see
- 21:32who delivers it. Why don't we get downstairs and wait and see? Easy
- 21:37there, Mike, you're a sick man. Stop talking that way. Sick
- 21:41up. We go right, let me give you No no, no,
- 21:45no, no, no, I'm all right. I'm oh see look at
- 21:48that. Look at that. Daddy Bill left my shoes here by the bed
- 21:52of party. Brother. Now I've seen it an addressed. I don't know
- 22:00how you're doing money, shall we get downstairs. Sure, pave the way.
- 22:07The envelope should be there, because it always comes in the morning when
- 22:11there's nobody here, you know, and Daddy Bill's out shopping, and just
- 22:17the door to the assembly room is open for any poor lost soul who wants
- 22:21to come in. Wait for the child line to open. Well, we'll
- 22:25see, we'll see, and then we'll go to my private place. You
- 22:30see, there are two things I like, Johnny, solitude and crowds of
- 22:37people. Look at that, Johnny. There there's mail there by the door.
- 22:44You see. Ah, here's my envelope and my name's on it too.
- 22:48Wait, Okay, it's all right, it's all right, it's right.
- 22:52Ah. You see that, Judny, a twenty dollar bill. We
- 22:57I me have that envelope if possible. Oh yes, yes, hey,
- 23:00Johnny. Now we can go out to you a night. We can have
- 23:03a real will now, Johnny, look at that A package for me?
- 23:07Too easy, Mike, let me have that. No, no, no,
- 23:10I know what you're thinking, an infernal machine or something. That's exactly
- 23:12what I'm thinking. But you didn't hear it. Gurgle. We'll look at
- 23:18it, Johnny, will joyous be one for you and one for me,
- 23:22easy, Mike, I want to carry this one in the rapid oh finger
- 23:26prince hat. That's right, Mike. I'm going to take you back upstairs
- 23:30and lock you in your room. You had to stay there, let nobody
- 23:33in, not even Daddy Bill until I get back. Jet, I say,
- 23:36and just remember that I'm trying to save your life. Item seven two
- 23:45seventy Kevfair uptown to the eighteenth Precinct station. The Lamb Boys took over three
- 23:49hours while Randy Singer and I talked about cases that we'd handled together in the
- 23:53past. I asked him to dig up whatever he could for me on John
- 23:56Wesley Cosgrave, the man named his beneficiary of insurance policy. This he promised
- 24:00to do one. Finally, a slim, intellision looking lieutenant walked in and
- 24:04handed Randy and neatly typed reported the lab's findings in connection with the liquor bottle
- 24:08and envelope. I've given them, m oh, Randy much. I'm afraid
- 24:15Johnny currently the only Prince with those made by the old man, and you
- 24:18proof that somebody has been pretty darned careful not to be identified. Yeah that's
- 24:22what Hey, wait a minute, sealing the bottle had been tampered with,
- 24:26so the lab boys opened it. The bottle contained enough wood alcohol to kill
- 24:30an army. I thought, old boy, drinks the way you would,
- 24:33Randy, see you later. I'd have made ten bucks even taxi fair and
- 24:37tip back to the Gland hand Rescue mission. I don't know how the driver
- 24:41did it, but he skinned through practically every red light on the route,
- 24:44and I soldly cursed myself for having left Mike with the other bottle. The
- 24:48place was apparently still empty when I pounded up the stairs to the second floor,
- 24:51and MIC's around. At least he kept his room locked and ordered Mike,
- 24:56Mike, Mike, are you all right? Mike? He was stretched
- 25:06out on the old iron bed, his face drawn even whiter than the pillow
- 25:08on which his head rested. The half empty bottle lay where he dropped it
- 25:11on the floor beside him. I get a sob for the stupid, careless,
- 25:15unthinking way in which I Mike, Johnny, what a hangover this is
- 25:22going to be. Now here's our star to tell you about tomorrow's intrigging episode
