- 0:01Chapter 54 From the book of Isaiah Let's first pray.
- 0:05Dear God, please be with us and give us wisdom and insight as we
- 0:09read through your word in Jesus name, Amen.
- 0:13Chapter 54 Sing Barren woman who never bore a child, burst into
- 0:19song. Shout for joy.
- 0:21You were never in labor, because more are the children of the
- 0:24desolate woman than of her who has a husband, Says the Lord.
- 0:29Enlarge the place of your tent. Stretch your tent curtains wide.
- 0:34Do not hold back. Lengthen your cords, strengthen
- 0:37your stakes, for you will spread out to the right and to the
- 0:41left. Your descendants will
- 0:42dispossessed nations and settle in their desolate cities.
- 0:47So the question and answer from the study Bible says how would
- 0:51this tent be enlarged since people lived in in houses during
- 0:57Isaiah's day? This image from Nomadic Life
- 1:01suggests that the promises to Abraham and his family found in
- 1:05Genesis chapter 12 and chapter 28 are in view.
- 1:10Some think this refers to enlarging the family tent by
- 1:15adding skins or stretching the present fabric and lengthening
- 1:19the cords. Others think this refers to
- 1:22setting up a new, bigger tent. Either way, God was promising to
- 1:27enlarge the nation as the Exiles return.
- 1:32Now the Study Bible talks about this in the past tense, but I
- 1:39see this as a future, especially today in 2025.
- 1:44Israel does not have all the land that God promised back in
- 1:49Genesis. So I think this is a forthcoming
- 1:54event that we will see in the future that Israel will their
- 1:59boundaries will be expanded and they are in a temporary place.
- 2:04That makes me think about the last chapter.
- 2:06I think it was that we read where it was talking about your
- 2:09tents in Jerusalem but your dwelling in Zion.
- 2:13It seems like two different things to me, like a tent is
- 2:15something temporary, but a dwelling place is something
- 2:19permanent. And the Zion is kind of like the
- 2:22heavenly realm. It's Jerusalem, but the heavenly
- 2:25Jerusalem. And we will probably read, we
- 2:29will read a little bit more about the new Jerusalem that God
- 2:33has prophesied. So I think at the time, the
- 2:36people that saw this probably or that heard this from Isaiah
- 2:40could relate to it at their time.
- 2:42But I think it's relatable to us at our time too and maybe future
- 2:48generations, I don't know. But it certainly seems like it's
- 2:51applicable to us in the future right now with the year being
- 2:562025. So let's continue on says do not
- 3:02be afraid. You will not be put to shame.
- 3:05Do not fear disgrace. You will not be humiliated.
- 3:09You will forget the shame of your youth and remember no more
- 3:14the reproach of your widowhood. So the study Bible says.
- 3:19What was the shame of youth and reproach of widowhood?
- 3:25The shame of their youth probably refers to Israel's
- 3:28bondage in Egypt that was talked about in Jeremiah chapter 31 In
- 3:34Hosea Chapter 11. The reproach of their widowhood
- 3:39probably refers to the exile when Israel was alone, like a
- 3:44widow in Isaiah 54 verses 6 through 7.
- 3:49Yet God promised to reverse his people's humiliation.
- 3:55Then Isaiah continues, For your maker is your husband.
- 4:00The Lord Almighty is his name. The Holy One of Israel is your
- 4:05Redeemer. He is called the God of all the
- 4:10earth. That's interesting that he is
- 4:13called the God of all the earth and that's referring to Jesus
- 4:17again, 700 BC and Jesus has talked about.
- 4:22So again, I had, I had seen a heard a rabbi talking about the
- 4:28Messiah that is to come and how he, you know, he's obviously
- 4:33Jewish and and so he was saying that this Messiah, it means
- 4:38anointed one. It has nothing to do with
- 4:39salvation and he's not God. And when I heard that, I
- 4:44thought, Oh my gosh, just look at Isaiah and it contradicts all
- 4:48of that. Now, right now, it's not saying
- 4:52the Messiah, but ultimately Israel, the city of Jerusalem is
- 4:59going to have a king. Everybody agrees and, and I
- 5:02think the Jewish people and the Christians agree that this king
- 5:06is going to be the Messiah, the future Messiah, that everybody's
- 5:10looking towards his coming. But the, the big surprise is
- 5:15going to be that it's going to be Jesus.
- 5:17And it was talked about in Isaiah.
- 5:19So if you can read through Isaiah or go through the
- 5:22chapters of Isaiah, you will find out the surprise that it is
- 5:28Jesus. Because all of these different
- 5:30scriptures that I've read are the different chapters that I've
- 5:33read. I've related them to the New
- 5:36Testament. And the, the thing that's at the
- 5:38detriment of the Jewish people is that they that the ones who
- 5:44are, are Jewish of faith and are not Messianic Jews is that they
- 5:48haven't read the New Testament. Now the New Testament was
- 5:52written written around 90 AD was the last book, the Book of
- 5:57Revelation, written by John, who was one of the original
- 6:00disciples or followers of Jesus. And so when I, I think, you
- 6:06know, both Christians and Jewish people can benefit so much from
- 6:12reading both parts of the Bible, referring to the Old Testament
- 6:17and the New Testament, because when we read it in total, we
- 6:21better understand. If I just read as a Christian,
- 6:25just read the New Testament and never read the Old Testament, I
- 6:29would be clueless about so much that's in the New Testament.
- 6:33And the same for the Jewish people.
- 6:35If the Jewish people just, you know, they basically have the
- 6:38first what, 5 books of the Bible and in their Torah.
- 6:44And, but they're missing out on all of this other information
- 6:49that's here that was documented. And so it answers a lot of
- 6:53questions and clears up confusion.
- 6:55So I just hope that more and more people start looking at the
- 6:59whole book and really understand and become enlightened by it
- 7:06when they see these things. So again, I will, I will, you
- 7:12know, read this sentence verse 5 again.
- 7:15For your maker is your husband, the Lord Almighty is his name.
- 7:20The Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer.
- 7:23So that has to do with salvation.
- 7:25He is called the God of all the earth.
- 7:30That's really important. So the study Bible says who
- 7:34called Israel's God the God of all the earth?
- 7:38Only the people of God who had heard the message of his
- 7:41prophets would know that the Lord was truly the God of all
- 7:47the earth. Most other people did not have
- 7:50much respect for the God of Israel because he could not be
- 7:53seen while their own idols were visible.
- 7:56Those who acknowledged Israel's God became a part of God's
- 8:00people. Well, my study Bible doesn't
- 8:03even say this about being Jesus, but Jesus redeemed the all of
- 8:11you know all people by what he did on the cross.
- 8:15So Jesus is the Redeemer. He is called the God of all the
- 8:21earth. All authority has been given to
- 8:24Jesus. So that's also in the Bible.
- 8:29So this is, you know, the Son of God is going to be called God of
- 8:35all the earth. He'll have all the authority of
- 8:37the earth. He does right now actually.
- 8:39But there's a time frame where God's enemy still has some
- 8:45access to the earth, but that's not going to be forever.
- 8:49OK, so let's go to verse 6. The Lord will call you back as
- 8:53if you were a wife deserted and distressed in spirit, a wife who
- 8:58married young only to be rejected, says your God.
- 9:03For a brief moment I abandoned you, but with deep compassion I
- 9:08will bring you back. In a surge of anger.
- 9:10I hid my face from you for a moment, but with everlasting
- 9:15kindness I will have compassion on you, says the Lord, your
- 9:20Redeemer. So that's coming from Jesus.
- 9:24And then the study Bible says, what are the limits of God's
- 9:27patience? His patience is limitless.
- 9:31God commanded the Israelites to be holy and He gave them the law
- 9:36and the prophets to help them. But when they persisted in their
- 9:40sins, He punished them because He is holy.
- 9:45Still, He did not leave it at that.
- 9:48He forgave them and received them back with great compassion.
- 9:54I think this happens like at the end of the this age through or
- 10:00the yeah, through Christ. Forgiveness is still available
- 10:05today to anyone who believes in him.
- 10:10Then Isaiah continues to say verse 9.
- 10:13To me, this is like the days of Noah, which I think is really
- 10:18interesting, when I swore that the waters of Noah would never
- 10:23again cover the earth. So now I have sworn not to be
- 10:28angry with you, never to rebuke you again.
- 10:33So let's see. So the comparison like the days
- 10:38of Noah is also often talked about in the end of the age that
- 10:43Jesus talks about, it will be like the age like the days of
- 10:47Noah that people will be marrying and eating and drinking
- 10:50and then along. They were not expecting the
- 10:53flood to happen, but then it happened.
- 10:56Now this verse here is not really talking about that
- 10:59surprise element like Jesus talked about in Matthew 24, but
- 11:05this one is talking about the promise he made to Israel that
- 11:09he would never flood the entire earth again.
- 11:12We're certainly seeing a lot of flooding.
- 11:14And that makes me think, are these warnings from God, like
- 11:20he's never going to flood the whole earth, but there are
- 11:22significant floods happening all over into various places around
- 11:27the earth. And is this God saying wake up,
- 11:30people wake up? I, I really certainly feel like
- 11:34that. But we won't know for sure, like
- 11:38wake up because Jesus is returning soon.
- 11:42And it just really seems like that to me.
- 11:46OK, so then it says Isaiah says in verse 10, though the
- 11:51mountains be shaken and the hills removed, yet my unfailing
- 11:58love for you will not be shaken, nor my covenant of peace be
- 12:02removed, says the Lord, who has compassion on you.
- 12:06When I read that though the mountains be shaken and the
- 12:09hills be removed, it made me think of additional scripture
- 12:15found in the well many places, but in the Book of Revelation
- 12:20specifically because Revelation chapter 6 verse 14 says the
- 12:27heavens receded like a scroll being rolled up and every
- 12:31mountain and island was removed from its place.
- 12:36Now this is talking about when I believe when Jesus returns.
- 12:41I'm going to read this in context so you get the whole
- 12:44part of it. So this is during the 6th seal
- 12:48that's in Revelation chapter 6 and it's verse 12 that I'm
- 12:51starting with and I'll read to verse 17.
- 12:54I watch this is John talking as he, which is the he is Jesus
- 13:00opened the 6th seal. There was a great earthquake.
- 13:05The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair.
- 13:10The whole moon turned blood red and the stars in the sky fell to
- 13:16earth. The stars in Revelation are
- 13:19symbolic of angels and these are believed to be the why they call
- 13:23them the fallen angels, the ones who rebuild against God.
- 13:29And the stars in the sky fell to the earth, as figs drop from a
- 13:34fig tree when shaken by a strong wind.
- 13:40The heavens receded like a scroll being rolled up, and
- 13:43every mountain and island was removed from its place.
- 13:47Then the kings of the earth, the Princess, the generals, the
- 13:52rich, the mighty, and everyone else, both slave and free, hid
- 13:59in caves and among the rocks of the mountains.
- 14:05They called to the mountains, and the rocks fall on us and
- 14:10hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne, and from the
- 14:17wrath of the Lamb. The one who sits on the throne
- 14:21is God the Father, and the wrath of the Lamb is Jesus.
- 14:26And it says For the great day of their wrath has come and who can
- 14:32withstand it. So this is really interesting to
- 14:36me because just that they called to the mountains and rocks fall
- 14:40on us and hide us. It's and they know what's
- 14:44happening. That's what really surprises me
- 14:48that it's not like they're saying what is going on here?
- 14:52Let's let's just hide and get away from this.
- 14:55But they are actually wanting to be hidden from God.
- 15:00So to me, this shows that, you know, the people who are
- 15:03rebelling against God, they deliberately know that they're
- 15:08doing that and they're guilty, and they know they're guilty.
- 15:13And they don't think that Jesus is going to return.
- 15:17They don't think that there's going to be the wrath of God
- 15:20that will come. And they just keep on doing what
- 15:23they're doing. But then all of a sudden here he
- 15:26is and it's happening and the like I said, these people are
- 15:32not saying what is going on in this world.
- 15:34There's like earthquakes and everything shaken.
- 15:37No, they are saying we know what's going on and I want to be
- 15:42hidden from him. And it's it's not going to
- 15:46happen. Nobody escapes it.
- 15:48So this is going to be, yeah, this is going.
- 15:52I mean, it's been foretold. So this was foretold in 90 AD by
- 15:56John when he was on the island of Patmos.
- 15:59And it says that whoever reads the Book of Revelation will be
- 16:03blessed. So it's worth reading and it's
- 16:06worth understanding as much as we can.
- 16:08There are different interpretations of various parts
- 16:13in Scripture, but when Scripture interprets Scripture, you get a
- 16:17better understanding for it. So I've done some prior podcast
- 16:21on the Book of Revelation of everything that I had heard and
- 16:23know from it up to this point. And there's we're none of us are
- 16:29going to get it 100% right because because of the way it's
- 16:33written, it's open to interpretation, but it certainly
- 16:36talks about some, some good things and some bad things.
- 16:40And we're going to talk a little bit more about the Book of
- 16:42Revelation because of what Isaiah says.
- 16:45But I hope that you see that this is clearly verse 10, though
- 16:50the mountains may be shaken and the hills removed.
- 16:54And that's exactly what it says here, that the heavens receded
- 17:00like a scroll being rolled up and every mountain and island
- 17:03was removed from its place. So it matches up with Revelation
- 17:08chapter 6 verse 14 in also there is several times where things
- 17:16are talked about being shaken. So in Matthew 24 verse 29, Jesus
- 17:23talks about it. He says immediately after the
- 17:27distress of those days, the sun will be darkened and the moon
- 17:32will not give its light, The stars will fall from the sky and
- 17:38the heavenly bodies will be shaken.
- 17:42And so this is like the distress of the those days is referring
- 17:47to the great tribulation. So Jesus said that when that
- 17:51great tribulation happens, it's going to be a time that we have
- 17:56never experienced on this on the face of the earth and nor will
- 18:01we ever experience it again. It's going to be a once in an
- 18:04only time event. And and then it says if those
- 18:09days had not been cut short, no one would survive.
- 18:13I believe that is why Jesus returns at that point to, you
- 18:20know, right after the 6th seal opens, because if he didn't, no
- 18:25one would be around because this just stress, whatever that is,
- 18:30that great tribulation of those days is going to be worse than
- 18:35anything. All the world wars that we've
- 18:37had, it's going to be worse than that.
- 18:40So, and this and this is told to us that it happens after this
- 18:46person that Daniel refers to as the Lawless 1 is on the holy
- 18:52ground and he, he or people put up some sort of image and the
- 19:00image is made to talk or something.
- 19:04That's what the the Bible gives us as a clue.
- 19:06So what people generally say is that this is like the
- 19:11Antichrist, the, the last Antichrist.
- 19:14There's been many Antichrist throughout time, but this is
- 19:17like the last and final one. And he will be on the holy place
- 19:23standing somewhere. And people are believing that
- 19:26this is probably the Temple Mount.
- 19:29So somebody on the Temple Mount and puts up this image and the
- 19:34images made to talk. So think about our technology
- 19:38that we have today that that could be very possible.
- 19:41But so this is what is told that's going to happen.
- 19:46And when we see that anybody who's in Jerusalem should flee
- 19:50and don't go back to their place because that's when the greatest
- 19:53distress that has ever happened on the earth is going to occur.
- 19:57But sometime after that is when Jesus returns on the clouds.
- 20:02So there is going to be that awareness of what's happening.
- 20:06That's probably why the people say, because actually that's
- 20:11probably God's like final attempt to get people saved.
- 20:17Is when everybody sees and knows this is the Antichrist that
- 20:22people have been talking about for years and years, thousands
- 20:26of years probably. And because when he is on that
- 20:30temple or that image is set up and it begins to speak on the
- 20:35probably the Temple Mount, when that happens, then people, all
- 20:39the people who study Scripture will be warning everybody else
- 20:43like this is what's in the Bible.
- 20:44This is what's in the book of Daniel.
- 20:46And, you know, flee, flee. I mean, this is going to be the
- 20:50greatest distress that ever happened on the earth.
- 20:53And then we're going to like experience that.
- 20:55Now how long we will experience that I don't know, but it says
- 20:59that he, that's when they will see.
- 21:03It says like immediately after the distress of those days.
- 21:07So it sounds days sounds plural. The sun will be darkened, the
- 21:12moon will not give its light, the stars will fall from the
- 21:15sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.
- 21:18I will continue to read from there because that the order of
- 21:21this is really important. It says, then the next verse
- 21:25says, then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven, and
- 21:32then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see
- 21:37the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and
- 21:42great glory. The next verse says, and he will
- 21:46send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will
- 21:52gather his elect from the four winds from one end of the
- 21:58heavens to the other. So this is that's in in Matthew.
- 22:03He said that I want to read mark what he says in chapter 13.
- 22:09But in those days following that distress, the sun will be
- 22:12darkened, the moon will not give its light, the stars will fall
- 22:16from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.
- 22:20At that time, people will see the Son of Man coming in the
- 22:24clouds with great power and glory, and He will send His
- 22:28angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the ends of
- 22:34earth to the ends of heaven. So this is that great gathering
- 22:39of people. And that's exactly what it says
- 22:42about the rapture. What people call the rapture is
- 22:46Jesus has seen on the clouds. His angels go out and gather
- 22:49people and draw them to him while he's in the clouds.
- 22:54And that's what it's it's talking about.
- 22:57And then in Luke, here's what Luke says.
- 23:01There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars so that matches
- 23:06up on the earth. Nations will be in anguish and
- 23:10perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea.
- 23:14People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming
- 23:19on the world. That sounds pretty significant
- 23:22for the heavenly bodies will be shaken at that time.
- 23:27They will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and
- 23:31great glory. When these things begin to take
- 23:34place, stand up and lift up your heads because your redemption is
- 23:40drawing near. So a lot of people when they say
- 23:43that the pre Trib, I mean this, this very specifically shows us
- 23:49it is not pre Trib. If you read carefully, don't
- 23:52listen to what all these teachers say that don't aren't
- 23:57take it. They're taking the Bible out of
- 24:00sequence and they're not reading the full paragraph or they're
- 24:04not reading it in context because it very, very clearly
- 24:09says that we are. Whoever's alive at that time is
- 24:12going to see this. They're going to see this
- 24:15lawless one that Daniel describes, and they are going to
- 24:19see this great tribulation start.
- 24:23But it says that right at that point, that is, and they're
- 24:27going to see Jesus coming on the cloud, but that's when he
- 24:30gathers his elect. Those are the people who have
- 24:33prepared themselves, the ones who are made themselves ready
- 24:38for the Lord. The rest are going to experience
- 24:42wrath because as soon as Jesus returns, that's when the wrath
- 24:46starts. But the people, it says that if
- 24:49you are, you know, basically if you're born again, you are not
- 24:52subject to God's wrath. So that that moment is very
- 24:57critical and that sequence of events is very critical.
- 25:01And people should really read Scripture and not be, oh gosh,
- 25:09not be blindsided by what people teach and just listen to
- 25:14whatever their pastor says or whatever their theology person
- 25:17says. But read Scripture, see what it
- 25:20says, see what Jesus says. And anyway, it's very important
- 25:28because it affects, it'll affect all people.
- 25:31So then again, going back to the we talked about Mark and Luke
- 25:36about, you know, everything that's shaken.
- 25:41And then let's see, in Hebrews chapter 12, the words once more
- 25:50indicate the removing of what can be shaken, that is, created
- 25:55things so that what cannot be shaken may remain.
- 26:02Therefore, and. And it says, therefore, since we
- 26:05are receiving a Kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be
- 26:09thankful and so worship God acceptably with reverence and
- 26:12awe. And then it also refers to
- 26:15Revelation chapter 6, which we read just before this.
- 26:18And the stars in the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig
- 26:23tree when shaken by a strong wind.
- 26:25I want to read Hebrews chapter 12 though, because it is it's
- 26:32it's also very important. So let's see where should we say
- 26:37like, I guess we'll start with God disciplining his children.
- 26:42And Hebrews chapter 12, verse 4, it says in your struggle against
- 26:49sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your
- 26:54blood. And have you completely
- 26:58forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you
- 27:01as a father addresses his son. It says, My son, do not make
- 27:06light of the Lord's discipline and do not lose heart when he
- 27:12rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines the one He loves and
- 27:17He chastens everyone He accepts as his son.
- 27:22Endure hardship as discipline. God is treating you as His
- 27:27children, for what? Children are not disciplined by
- 27:31their father. If you are not disciplined and
- 27:34everyone undergoes discipline, then you are not legitimate, not
- 27:38true sons and daughters at all. Moreover, we have had human
- 27:44fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it.
- 27:48How much more should we respect? Should we submit to the Father
- 27:55of spirits and live they referring to our natural, you
- 28:01know, our earthly parents. They disciplined us for a little
- 28:06while as they thought best. But God disciplines us for our
- 28:14good, for our good, not to punish us, but for our good, in
- 28:20order that we may share in His Holiness.
- 28:25No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful later on.
- 28:31However, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for
- 28:37those who have been trained by it.
- 28:40So if we get trained by the discipline that we receive, we
- 28:44will become more righteous and we will have peace.
- 28:48Nobody likes it. I can relate to that and I've
- 28:52been through discipline and but I can say that my life is
- 28:56changing and I do have peace. So you can see that the
- 29:00discipline was effective. I don't want any more
- 29:03discipline. I've had enough.
- 29:05But who knows what God has in store?
- 29:09Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees.
- 29:13Make level paths for your feet so that the lame may not be
- 29:17disabled, but rather healed. Now here's a warning and an
- 29:22encouragement. Make every effort to live in
- 29:25peace with everyone and to be holy.
- 29:29Without holiness, no one will see the Lord.
- 29:33How many times does that get preached in church today?
- 29:36Without holiness, no one will see the Lord.
- 29:41That's a good that's pretty powerful there.
- 29:44See to it that no one falls short of the grace of God, and
- 29:49that no bitter root grows up to cause trouble and defile many.
- 29:56See that no one is sexually immoral or godless like Esau,
- 30:02who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as the oldest
- 30:08son. You know, this whole sexual
- 30:10immoral thing, it's just like a huge thing today because it's so
- 30:16easy to experience sexual immorality just by, you know,
- 30:23being online, the Internet, there's there's access to so
- 30:27much stuff that it becomes like people can do that in secret and
- 30:32nobody would even know about it. It's, you know, apparent that
- 30:37it's happening in churches. It's happening everywhere.
- 30:39It's not that just some do this. I mean, it is all over the
- 30:43place. And if by reading the Old
- 30:47Testament we would remember the story of Balaam and Balak and
- 30:54now I'm forgetting which one was which one of them was a prophet
- 30:58and a prophet though our communicator with darkness
- 31:01essentially, yet God overruled who he was communicating with.
- 31:07And when the king who was I think he was Balak.
- 31:12I might have the names by mixed up because they I'm not really
- 31:16good with names, but the king wanted the prophet to curse the
- 31:22people of Israel and so he was. He told the king he could only
- 31:27do whatever God would tell him to do and every time he tried to
- 31:30curse, and I think it happened like 7 times, he ended up
- 31:33blessing Israel. And so the king was not really
- 31:36happy about that and neither was the prophet because he wanted
- 31:42the reward that the king was going to give him for putting a
- 31:44curse on Israel and it didn't happen.
- 31:47So then later the prophet gets really creative and he goes and
- 31:54tells the king, OK, I couldn't curse them for you, but here's
- 32:00what you can do is get them to be sexually immoral and that
- 32:07will be their fall. And so that's what happens
- 32:10because that other king in there in his belief they had these
- 32:15temple prostitutes and they had all this sexual immorality.
- 32:19And so that is like God's enemies way to really hook
- 32:27people. Like you could be so righteous
- 32:30in every other aspect, but fall short with that and not address
- 32:36that. And I see so many people saying
- 32:39that, oh, but grace covers me. But then, you know, Hebrews
- 32:42says, see to it that no one falls short of the grace of God.
- 32:48So what does that mean? Like the grace?
- 32:51I mean, if we repeatedly, you know, it says don't keep on
- 32:55sinning because if you keep on sinning, the only thing that's
- 32:58going to be left for you is judgment.
- 33:02We need to be in the word of God because the churches are not
- 33:05being bold and telling people and nobody likes to talk about
- 33:10this. Nobody wants to hear this
- 33:12because most of the people in the world are probably sexually
- 33:16immoral. And so it's not singling out any
- 33:19one person. It's talking about just about
- 33:22everybody. Now, there may be a few
- 33:24exceptions to the rules, so I'm not talking about every single
- 33:27person, but I'm saying the majority.
- 33:30And so if nobody wakes up and nobody changes this and nobody
- 33:35asks God for the Holy Spirit to help with this issue, that means
- 33:39a whole bunch of people are going to be eternally separated
- 33:42from God. Jesus died on the cross.
- 33:46For those who are repentant, those who, who, you know, maybe
- 33:50it's not within their, I mean, if, if we say it's not within
- 33:54their power, then we're saying that God doesn't have the power
- 33:58because God gives us the Holy Spirit to give us the power
- 34:02because he says that when he, when it comes to temptation, he
- 34:06gives us a way out. So it's not that we are not
- 34:10powerless against it, it's that we choose not to be because we
- 34:14like it. So this is like a, this is a big
- 34:19wake up call for all people because if the coming of Jesus
- 34:23is really soon, this is probably something that people need to
- 34:27personally address and go to God directly with it and ask God for
- 34:32the Holy Spirit to help you. And it says that God always
- 34:35provides a way out. So you can, you can find a way
- 34:38out. And every time you're about to
- 34:40go into that temptation, say Jesus, help me.
- 34:45I mean, that's the quickest, you know, simplest prayer to say.
- 34:50And he will do it. He will do it.
- 34:52Now we still have to make the decision because we have free
- 34:57will. God gave us that.
- 34:59So it's not like all of a sudden it's not going to be a
- 35:01temptation. It's a, you know, it's just like
- 35:03what Jesus says, like unless you take up your cross, you're not
- 35:07worthy to follow him. So it's not the saying this is
- 35:10going to be super easy. It's just saying that it is
- 35:13possible and you can do it with the power of God.
- 35:16For in his strength, I mean, in our weakness, we have his
- 35:22strength. So if we deny the strength,
- 35:26we're denying the power of God. So we have no excuses
- 35:30essentially is what I'm saying. And it's it is a warning to
- 35:33everybody because Scripture is very clear on this.
- 35:37I didn't like reading it the first time I read that, but it
- 35:40became, you know, digging deep and see if you can disprove it
- 35:44because you can't when you get into all of Scripture.
- 35:49So here's what it says right after that it says, see that no
- 35:52one is sexually immoral or godless.
- 35:54Like Esau, who for a single meal sold his inheritance rights as
- 35:58the oldest son. So Esau was supposed to have the
- 36:01inheritance from his father and instead Jacob gets it because
- 36:08Esau traded. Jacob made a deal with Esau,
- 36:13Israel made a deal with Esau. And Esau, you know, didn't think
- 36:16it was that important. He wanted the soup.
- 36:18He wanted what he wanted right now.
- 36:20He was hungry. He wanted that.
- 36:22Just like people with sexual immorality.
- 36:24That's what it's talking about here.
- 36:26People want it right now and they're like, well, I want it
- 36:29right now. And then, you know, are you
- 36:32thinking about like eternity? I mean, that makes a huge
- 36:35difference. Do you want to sell your rights
- 36:39to the inheritance that God has given us?
- 36:43You got to ask that question, is it worth it?
- 36:46Is it worth it to be separated from God for eternity so that
- 36:49you can have that one sexual immoral, immoral time?
- 36:53I mean, if you're, if you have, never mind, I'm not going to say
- 36:57anymore. So the next verse says
- 37:00afterward, as you know, when he wanted to inherit the blessing,
- 37:04he was rejected. So Esau wanted to get his
- 37:08inheritance back after he realized what he lost, he was
- 37:11rejected. So is this like when Jesus
- 37:16closes the door and he says depart from me, you evil doers?
- 37:21Is that going to happen to some people?
- 37:23We know it is. I mean, it talks about like
- 37:25Jesus gave the parable of the 10 virgins.
- 37:27They all thought they were prepared, but only five of them
- 37:31had oil in the lamps. They were anointed.
- 37:34They were, they were truly prepared.
- 37:37The other ones still needed to do something.
- 37:40They still needed to take care of something.
- 37:43So are you going to be, which five are you going to be with?
- 37:46Are you going to be the one that's prepared?
- 37:48Are you going to be the one that was like, oh dude, I should have
- 37:50done that When God comes and then be turned away where he
- 37:54says depart from me, you evildoer, you worker of
- 37:56iniquity. I think it's something we
- 38:00seriously have to talk. And it says even though he
- 38:03sought the blessing with tears, he could not change what he had
- 38:08done. It was his decision.
- 38:11You know, he regretted his decision, but that was his
- 38:15decision. He gave it up.
- 38:17So are you going to give up eternity because of some sin
- 38:22that you want to hang on to and not let go of?
- 38:26OK, then in verse 18 it's OK. Actually the next section of
- 38:30this is talking about the mountain of fear and the
- 38:33mountain of joy. So there are going to be two
- 38:35different reactions when Jesus returns.
- 38:38One reaction of the people who knew they should have done
- 38:42something and they didn't. And the other reaction of the
- 38:45people who, you know, went through some pain and suffering
- 38:49of giving up stuff they didn't want to give up, but they're
- 38:53prepared. And when Jesus comes, they're
- 38:55joyful because they know they they've already taken care of
- 38:59the mess that they had from the past.
- 39:02So here's what it says. You have not come to a mountain
- 39:06that can be touched and that is burning with fire, to darkness,
- 39:10gloom, and storm, to a trumpet blast, or to such a voice
- 39:15speaking words that those who heard it begged that no further
- 39:19word be spoken to them, because they could not bear what was
- 39:23commanded. If even an animal touches the
- 39:26mountain, it must be stoned to death.
- 39:29The sight was so terrifying that Moses said, I am trembling with
- 39:34fear. This is, you know, coming into
- 39:36the presence of God and realizing the power and the
- 39:40might of Him. But you have come to Mount Zion,
- 39:45to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem.
- 39:50You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful
- 39:55assembly to the Church of the first born whose names are
- 40:01written in heaven. You have come to God, the Judge
- 40:06of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect.
- 40:12To Jesus, the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled
- 40:16blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel, see to
- 40:22it that you do not refuse him who speaks.
- 40:27If they did not escape when they refused Him who warned them on
- 40:31earth, how much less will we if we turn away from Him who warns
- 40:38us from heaven? So God is warning.
- 40:43At that time His voice shook the earth, but now He has promised
- 40:49once more. I will shake not only the earth,
- 40:54but also the heavens. So when, when Moses received the
- 40:5910 commandments, there was the voice of God and the thundering
- 41:04and the fear that came upon everybody.
- 41:06That was the first covenant. When the second covenant comes
- 41:09to be in effect, I guess, or I guess it's already in effect,
- 41:14but when it comes to fruition, when Jesus returns, this is
- 41:18going to be the second time that things are shaken up.
- 41:21The words once more indicate the removing of what can be shaken,
- 41:27that is, created things, so that what cannot be shaken may
- 41:31remain. Therefore, since we are
- 41:35receiving a Kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful
- 41:40and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our
- 41:45God is a consuming fire. A lot of pretty sobering things
- 41:53being discussed there, so let's see what else it says about like
- 41:59the days of Noah. The study Bible says.
- 42:00Why then, did God allow the Holocaust?
- 42:04There are historical reasons why the Holocaust happened, but
- 42:08there is no biblical or doctrinal rationale to explain
- 42:12it. In this text.
- 42:14God made a promise to the Exiles who would be returning from
- 42:18captivity in Babylon to their homeland.
- 42:20God promised that he would no longer be angry with them and
- 42:24that they would have relative peace.
- 42:27It was not necessarily a guarantee of permanent peace.
- 42:31OK. I disagree with the study Bible
- 42:33because I think the study Bible is being narrow minded with this
- 42:38because this is clearly about the end days and sometimes it
- 42:43can be a foreshadowing. So it's like partially right,
- 42:46but they're not looking at it as the future because God is
- 42:51promising everlasting peace, but it's when Jesus returns and not
- 42:56until then. Because Jesus even said in
- 42:59Matthew 24 that war will continue until the end.
- 43:02Wars and rumors of wars will continue to the end.
- 43:06So we're never going to have complete peace.
- 43:09But then when it describes the millennial reign, the thousand
- 43:12year reign of Christ on Earth, it talks about peace that we
- 43:15have never experienced before. Like it even sounds like animals
- 43:20will no longer be meat eaters, that they're going to lie down
- 43:24at peace with one another. Like it.
- 43:26It talks about a lot of and little kids can play with snakes
- 43:29and not be bitten. I mean, there's a lot of things
- 43:33that don't happen today that will be experienced once God
- 43:37starts to restore the things when Jesus reigns on earth for
- 43:411000 years. So that's going to be a really
- 43:43cool time to be on the earth during that time.
- 43:48And OK, so let's go back to what Isaiah said in verse 11.
- 43:51Afflicted city, lashed by storms and not comforted.
- 43:55I will rebuild you with stones of turquoise, your foundations
- 44:01with lapis lazuli. I will make your battlements of
- 44:05rubies, your gates of sparkling jewels, and all your walls of
- 44:11precious stones. All your children will be taught
- 44:15by the Lord, and great will be their peace.
- 44:19So this is really interesting too is that again it talks about
- 44:25in multiple places. I always wondered what's the
- 44:28purpose of the Millennium and the Millennium people will be
- 44:32taught by the Lord Himself. So He's going to be present and
- 44:37He will be taught and great will be their peace.
- 44:40Now this other part in verse 11 and 12, it talks about these
- 44:44semi precious stones. So again, if you only read the
- 44:48Old Testament and you didn't read the New Testament, then you
- 44:51would not know this. But I will read a short excerpt
- 44:58of the New Jerusalem, the bride of the Lamb.
- 45:03It says that one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls
- 45:09full of the seven last plagues, came to me and and said to me,
- 45:17Come, I will show you the bride, the wife of the Lamb.
- 45:22And he carried me away in the Spirit to a mountain great and
- 45:27high, and showed me the holy city Jerusalem coming down out
- 45:34of heaven from God. So remember it says in I will
- 45:41rebuild. This is Isaiah, what he said I
- 45:43will rebuild you with stones of and it goes on to describe more
- 45:48that he is going to do it. Now here it says the holy city,
- 45:52Jerusalem coming down out of heaven from God.
- 45:57It's shown with the glory of God and its brilliance was like that
- 46:01of a very precious jewel, like a Jasper, clear as crystal.
- 46:07It had a great high wall with 12 gates and with 12 angels at the
- 46:14gates. On the gates were written the
- 46:17names of the 12 tribes of Israel.
- 46:22There were three gates on the E, 3 on the N, 3 on the South, and
- 46:26three on the West. The wall of the city had 12
- 46:29foundations, and on them were the names of the 12 apostles of
- 46:35the Lamb. So the Lamb is Jesus, the 12
- 46:38disciples of Jesus, The original.
- 46:40Well, not. Maybe it's not the original.
- 46:42Maybe Mattheus is in there. I'm not sure if Judah, Judas.
- 46:46I think Judas is probably not, but who knows?
- 46:50Because Mattheus Matthias, I don't know how you say his name,
- 46:54but he was added later, so there are 12.
- 46:58Anyway, Sidetrack, the Angel who talked with me had a measuring
- 47:02rod of gold to measure the city, its gates and its walls.
- 47:07The city was laid out like a square, so that's not the way
- 47:12Jerusalem is right now. Jerusalem is a strip.
- 47:15I mean, it's not even a strip. I'm talking of.
- 47:16Israel is a strip. Jerusalem is, you know, a city.
- 47:21But wait till you hear the size of the city.
- 47:24The city was laid out like a square, as long as it was wide.
- 47:30He measured the city with the rod and found it to be 12,000
- 47:34stadia in length and as wide as and high as it is long.
- 47:42So we have like a kind of like a perfect cube.
- 47:45The width, the depth and the height are all the same.
- 47:49Now this 12,000 stadia, what does that mean for us?
- 47:52Like how do we understand what that stadia means?
- 47:55That is about 1400 miles or about 2200 kilometers.
- 48:02So for us in the US, that's about half the size of the
- 48:06United States from left to right, from east to West.
- 48:09If you split it right in the middle, that's about 1400 miles.
- 48:13So that gives you some idea. The city, the holy city of
- 48:16Jerusalem is going to be like as big as half of the size of the
- 48:22United States. Now the whole country of Israel
- 48:28fits in like 1 of the small states that says it's been
- 48:31compared to the size of New Jersey in the United States.
- 48:35So that's what Israel is currently.
- 48:38The whole country is sized, and we're talking about a city
- 48:42that's going to be as big as half of the United States.
- 48:47The Angel measured the wall using human measurement, and it
- 48:52was 144 cubits thick. So what does that mean to us?
- 48:57That's about 200 feet or 65 meters deep, 200 feet deep.
- 49:05Think about that 65 meters. There's this wall that's
- 49:09separating God's children, God's chosen, those prepared from
- 49:15everything else. The wall was made.
- 49:19Now here's where it gets to all of the beautiful pieces of it.
- 49:22The wall was made of Jasper and the city of pure gold, as pure
- 49:26as glass. The foundations of the city were
- 49:29decorated with every kind of precious stone.
- 49:32That's exactly what Isaiah heard from the Lord too, that there
- 49:36would be all these different stones and sparkling jewels and
- 49:40all the walls of precious stones in verse 12.
- 49:44That's what Isaiah heard from the Lord, and John's hearing the
- 49:47same thing. The foundations of this, but
- 49:50more detail, the foundations of the city walls were decorated
- 49:53with every kind of precious stone.
- 49:54The first was Jasper, the second sapphire, the third a gate, the
- 49:594th emerald, the 5th Onyx, the 6th Ruby, the 7th crystallite,
- 50:04the 8th barrel, the 9th Topaz, the 10th turquoise, and the 11th
- 50:09jacinct and the 12th amethyst. The 12 gates were 12 pearls,
- 50:15each gate made of a single Pearl.
- 50:19The Great St. of the city was of gold, as pure as transparent
- 50:24glass. I did not see a temple in the
- 50:28city because the Lord Almighty and the Lamb are its temple.
- 50:35The Father and Son are going to be present in this city with
- 50:40those who have prepared. We will be living with God.
- 50:44The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for
- 50:50the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp.
- 50:55The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the
- 50:58earth will bring their splendor into it.
- 51:02On no day will its gates ever be shut, for there will be no night
- 51:07there. I think something also says
- 51:09there's no darkness there, so the glory and honor of the
- 51:14nations will be brought into it. Nothing impure will ever enter
- 51:20it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful,
- 51:26but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of
- 51:31life. So it's important for us, like
- 51:35God says, be holy because I am holy.
- 51:38If we want to be in God's Kingdom, if we want to live in
- 51:40this holy city of Jerusalem, we have to come into agreement with
- 51:46God because we can't live under a king that we don't agree with.
- 51:51So we need to really look at our lives and see like, are we in
- 51:56agreement with God? Are we showing God?
- 51:58Are we showing God it? You know, we don't get into
- 52:02God's Kingdom by what we do. It was only made possible by
- 52:08Jesus death on the cross because he was the atoning sacrifice for
- 52:12our sins. We, there's nothing we could do
- 52:15to make because we're imperfect, we are broken, we are sinful
- 52:19beings and we are not holy. So we can't get our way.
- 52:24We can't work our way into the Kingdom of God.
- 52:26And that's another deceptive thing that the enemy uses like
- 52:30just do all these good things and then you'll be in the
- 52:32Kingdom of God. No, that's not what it says.
- 52:34You have to put your faith and trust in Jesus and what he did.
- 52:38But when we do that, the good things that we do and the
- 52:42righteous things that we decide to do, we are showing God that
- 52:46we love him by that those actions, those are evidence that
- 52:51we have been saved, that our names are written in the book of
- 52:54the life. If we are not showing the
- 52:56evidence, our names may not be written in the book of life.
- 53:01So think about that. You want to make sure your name
- 53:04is written in the book of life, that you're not turned away.
- 53:06Then you know when Jesus returns that he doesn't say depart from
- 53:10me. You evil doers, you workers of
- 53:13iniquity, you workers of sin, you workers, you know, people
- 53:16who keep sinning, you know, go away.
- 53:20We don't want anybody to hear that.
- 53:22And churches are not doing a good job of telling people the
- 53:26truth. That's in Scripture.
- 53:28And so that's why I'm so passionate about this, because
- 53:31I'm so disappointed in the churches today that they don't
- 53:35won't talk about it. So many of them won't talk about
- 53:38it. They'll just talk about the
- 53:39blessings, but they don't talk about the preparation.
- 53:42And by doing so, they are not helping people.
- 53:46All they're doing is making money for themselves because
- 53:48they're doing what it says that in the last days, people will
- 53:52have itching ears to hear these good things.
- 53:55They don't. Nobody wants to hear this stuff.
- 53:57Nobody wants to hear. Well, I have to, you know, I
- 54:00have to accept God and I have to become holy because God is holy.
- 54:07I mean, nobody really likes to when you're in a sinful state,
- 54:11that doesn't sound appealing. And so I think churches just do
- 54:15that for their own benefit. And it it seems like that from
- 54:20the outsiders, there could be other reasons for it.
- 54:22But to never talk about sin, to never talk about being prepared
- 54:26for the return of Jesus, I think is very concerning to me because
- 54:32I'm so fearful that so many Christians who are going to
- 54:36church every Sunday are not prepared and the churches are
- 54:42doing a disservice all the time. These people are investing and
- 54:45going to that church and they're not getting the information they
- 54:50need from the Bible, and they're looking to a leader who
- 54:53supposedly is telling them is helping them prepare for God's
- 54:58Kingdom. How often do you go to church
- 55:01and hear about God's future Kingdom?
- 55:03I mean, it's just, you'll notice this after you read the Bible,
- 55:07after you get into it, you'll see that there are so few places
- 55:11that are preparing their people and God's going to take notice.
- 55:14God's paying attention to what these quote, shepherds of the
- 55:18sheep are doing. So because the shepherds are not
- 55:21doing their job. I think there's a lot of other
- 55:23people who are now taking up that responsibility to say, hey,
- 55:29wake up everybody. You know, like the churches
- 55:31aren't telling you, but you've got to get yourself prepared.
- 55:35So that's exactly how I feel right now.
- 55:40Anyway. Let's see in verse 14 going back
- 55:45to Isaiah in righteousness you will be established.
- 55:50Tyranny will be far from you. You will have nothing to fear.
- 55:54Terror will be far removed. It will not come near you.
- 55:58If anyone does attack, does attack you, it will not be my
- 56:02doing. Whoever attacks you will
- 56:04surrender to you. So the study Bible says, does
- 56:10God allow things to happen that he doesn't like?
- 56:14Yes, he does. God is all powerful and can
- 56:18control everything that happens in this world.
- 56:22In his world, however, he gives humans freedom to decide things
- 56:27for themselves. When we sin, for example, we
- 56:31have only ourselves to blame for the consequences, though God has
- 56:36the ability to prevent evil, including the enemy attacks
- 56:41mentioned here. Having having given humankind
- 56:45certain authority, God often allows circumstances to play
- 56:50out. So going back to what Isaiah
- 56:54says verse 16, see it is I who created the blacksmith who fans
- 57:00the coals into flame and forges a weapon fit for its work.
- 57:07And listen to this. God's admitting this.
- 57:10And it is I who have created the destroyer to wreak havoc.
- 57:19God knows it's gonna he, he basically he gives everything.
- 57:22This is the way I understand it. He's is, he gives every being
- 57:29the free will, a free choice. He doesn't force anybody to do
- 57:34anything. He gives them a choice and and
- 57:38there's going to be an eventual separation, a permanent
- 57:42separation where you can't cross over from one side to the other.
- 57:46But he's going to separate those who choose to rebel and those
- 57:50who choose to submit to him. The ones who choose to submit to
- 57:54Him will be in His Kingdom, and the ones who want to continue in
- 57:57sin will be separated from Him for all eternity.
- 58:02Now then, as soon as you know, God says it is I who have
- 58:06created the destroyer to wreak havoc.
- 58:09Listen to what it says though. No weapon forged against you
- 58:13will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses
- 58:19you. This is the heritage of the
- 58:22servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from Me,
- 58:27declares the Lord. So if you are a servant from the
- 58:30Lord, then you can repeat this verse.
- 58:35No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will
- 58:39refute every tongue that accuses you.
- 58:42This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this
- 58:46is their vindication from me, declares the Lord.
- 58:51So God keeps his promises. So remember that verse and, and,
- 58:58and use it. Remind God of it when you see
- 59:01disaster coming towards you. So anyway, I hope this helps
- 59:07prepare and please keep coming back to stay in the word because
- 59:13it helps us deal with everyday things when we know what's in
- 59:18the word of God. So come back.
