- 0:02Tad Eggleston: Good morning, everybody. Welcome back to 22 Panels.
- 0:06Tad Eggleston: And I'm just… I'm sad. I,
- 0:09Tad Eggleston: I was talking to my friend Dennis this week, and I mentioned that I'd scheduled, I think, 11 recordings, and
- 0:15Tad Eggleston: And, the 7-day period. He told me I should fire my scheduler.
- 0:23Tad Eggleston: And I told him that I was the scheduler.
- 0:27Tad Eggleston: And he said, doesn't matter, heads must roll. So,
- 0:33Tad Eggleston: Phil, I know it's weird that,
- 0:36Tad Eggleston: that, to lose us both in one week, with… with Tyler stepping away yesterday, but I… I…
- 0:46Tad Eggleston: I just… I can't do it anymore. It's… it's 22 panels, no more. I… I'm keeping copyright on 22 panels, by the way. You're gonna have to rename the podcast. 22 Panels is no more,
- 0:57Tad Eggleston: But, I mean, do your thing, I'll keep recording for today.
- 1:01Phil: Because for today, we are playing Die. Hello, I am Phil, I am the Game Master of this session. Tad, we are… I…
- 1:10Phil: I was… I was expecting… I was expecting a… more of a Tyler tribute than a Dennis Kitchen friendship moment, but, you know, we're… we're.
- 1:20Tad Eggleston: Oh, oh, was it, was it…
- 1:22Tad Eggleston: Yeah, I mean, it is that dentist, but that's why I know that, like, if he tells me I need to fire my scheduler, he's probably right. He's very experienced at this sort of thing.
- 1:30Phil: He's only run, you know, successful underground publishing for how long?
- 1:35Tad Eggleston: But, I mean, it is also true that, like, Phil, I like you, but going on without Tyler is just…
- 1:42Tad Eggleston: I understand I can do it.
- 1:44Phil: I understand, you know, it's… he's… Tyler's one in a million. He really is. For all the Tylers in comics, there'll only be one Johnson.
- 1:52Tad Eggleston: I mean, John's is a pretty, pretty common last name, so I don't know if I wanna… I don't wanna necessarily…
- 1:59Tad Eggleston: guarantee that there will only be one Tyler Johnson.
- 2:04Phil: Only one at a time, at least. Anyway… I mean…
- 2:06Tad Eggleston: I mean, I know somebody whose last name is Johnson, whose first name is much less common, and she still shares it with a celebrity.
- 2:17Phil: Interesting. Interesting.
- 2:19Tad Eggleston: And one that's, like, close enough to her age that it's not, like, her parents named her after…
- 2:27Phil: That's a… that's a good one.
- 2:29Tad Eggleston: So, I'm just sayin'.
- 2:32Phil: Just saying. Well, since we are rebuilding everything from the ground up, I think we should start today's session with a little bit of persona generation, because we are joined by a new member of the crew today. We are welcoming in… would you like to introduce yourself?
- 2:50Larry Woods: Sure, my name is Lee Woods, and for those of you that have been listening to 22 panels, you know me from psychocomicology, so I'm a mental health clinician that looks at all things pop culture through a psychological lens, but this time, I go through the imagination sphere, and I'm playing pretend.
- 3:07Phil: There we go. So…
- 3:09Tad Eggleston: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 3:11Tad Eggleston: This is pretend.
- 3:15Larry Woods: True.
- 3:16Tad Eggleston: I have to completely… I have to completely re… Reorient myself now.
- 3:21Peter Eggleston Connor: Yeah, this is pretend.
- 3:23Phil: So it's, it's, it's pretend for everyone except for Tad, and me, you know, occasionally.
- 3:29Peter Eggleston Connor: that anymore. He lost that.
- 3:31Phil: We did, we did. He doesn't respond to Tad anymore. But, so we're gonna… this is the first time we are… we've been planning this since the beginning, that this, game
- 3:42Phil: would be able to accommodate, people joining in midpoint, and, running with it. So, the way we're gonna do that is figuring out, who Lee's persona is, and how that persona is attached to
- 3:58Phil: ours. And so, how do we know? How do we know? So, first of all, do you have a name for your persona?
- 4:04Larry Woods: I do.
- 4:06Larry Woods: Okay. This is the character I'm gonna be playing in-game, or is this still, like, the real-life character?
- 4:11Phil: So, quick clarification, your… the real-life character IS the character you play in-game, so the… the thing about Die is that you… you are a person from the real world who then gets this magical item that gives you the power
- 4:29Phil: You know, so the simple way of putting it is that you're already… you're already playing a character, let's just use one name instead of two.
- 4:37Larry Woods: Okay. So the name of that…
- 4:40Tad Eggleston: two names just because I'm difficult.
- 4:43Phil: He earned it.
- 4:44Larry Woods: No idea. The name that I have… Wilhelm DeFoa.
- 4:50Phil: Okay.
- 4:52Phil: Wilhelm Defoa?
- 4:54Larry Woods: Before, yeah?
- 4:55Phil: Okay. Is, is, no relation to, to the esteemed actor?
- 5:00Tad Eggleston: No, that's… that's Defoe.
- 5:03Phil: Oh, default.
- 5:04Tad Eggleston: How are we spelling the FOA?
- 5:06Phil: I just put an accent on the E.
- 5:08Larry Woods: I got DE, lowercase, cap, uppercase F, O, A.
- 5:13Phil: Oh, A, gotcha, my mistake.
- 5:15Tad Eggleston: Yeah, see? There we go. There we go. And is it Willem or Wilhelm?
- 5:21Phil: Wilhelm.
- 5:21Larry Woods: Oh.
- 5:21Peter Eggleston Connor: Well, hell.
- 5:22Tad Eggleston: somehow.
- 5:23Peter Eggleston Connor: Yeah, so Wilhelm, sounds like you're a villain in some.
- 5:28Phil: Kaiser?
- 5:29Peter Eggleston Connor: Some crazy.
- 5:32Phil: He's no Vlad, okay?
- 5:35Peter Eggleston Connor: What are you talking about, Vlad? I was talking about, borderlands 2.
- 5:41Phil: Oh, see, I don't border… I haven't borderlanded, but that's just me. So, okay, so…
- 5:48Peter Eggleston Connor: You're missing out. That's what I gotta say about that.
- 5:52Phil: Supposedly.
- 5:54Peter Eggleston Connor: Borderlands 2.
- 5:56Phil: I prefer swords over guns. Anyway.
- 5:58Peter Eggleston Connor: Hey, man.
- 6:01Phil: What's that?
- 6:02Peter Eggleston Connor: Fair enough. I was gonna say, you could play Tai and Chino's Wonderland.
- 6:06Phil: Oh, okay.
- 6:06Peter Eggleston Connor: like, Thor.
- 6:07Tad Eggleston: I need to play more of that.
- 6:10Peter Eggleston Connor: Oh yeah, I need a…
- 6:11Tad Eggleston: Thank you for buying it for me, but I haven't played it enough yet.
- 6:14Peter Eggleston Connor: Yeah, okay, well, let me know if you want a partner playing at some point.
- 6:18Tad Eggleston: Well, we should do that, yeah.
- 6:20Phil: Someone's excited.
- 6:21Peter Eggleston Connor: Maybe we should get Adam involved, too. Sorry, random things.
- 6:24Phil: It's all good.
- 6:25Peter Eggleston Connor: I'm sure he just heard that, too. I mean, we'll hear that once the…
- 6:29Phil: Yeah, oh yeah. Time gets away from us, and we are also very much a game-first, you know, so we get table talk. So, Wilhelm, before, recording, we gave Lee a rundown of each of our characters,
- 6:46Phil: Which one do you think you would have known? It could have even been a little bit, but, you know, who do you think you had a connection to?
- 6:56Peter Eggleston Connor: Wait, wait, wait, did you ever describe Welen to him? You did, right?
- 6:59Phil: Who?
- 7:00Peter Eggleston Connor: Waylon.
- 7:01Phil: Waylon?
- 7:02Peter Eggleston Connor: Who's the way?
- 7:02Tad Eggleston: Oh, no.
- 7:03Phil: No, no, no.
- 7:04Phil: Waylon… Waylon was the name of the sea god, because it was a giant taffy whale.
- 7:09Peter Eggleston Connor: That's right.
- 7:09Phil: And I just named him Waylon, because…
- 7:11Phil: It had the name whale in it, so…
- 7:14Peter Eggleston Connor: I was.
- 7:15Tad Eggleston: Also because he was a country and western singer.
- 7:18Phil: Okay, Country Western Singing, Taffy Whale. Okay. Alright.
- 7:24Phil: Working that one in.
- 7:30Tad Eggleston: We have live ammo here.
- 7:32Phil: Yeah, we are. Or I guess we're wondering if we're… because we're thinking about…
- 7:37Phil: how Wilhelm Defoa… what kind of person were you in high school?
- 7:41Phil: Like, if you had to have a, you know, like a category to attach him to, was he a nerd? Was he a jock? Was he, you know, more of a skater punk? Was he a band kid? You know, these sorts of things.
- 7:57Larry Woods: The… the word that comes up for me is loaner.
- 8:02Phil: Loner, okay. That works. We are… we are a pack of lone wolves.
- 8:08Tad Eggleston: I was about to say, shocking, shocking that this group of gamers is filled with loners.
- 8:14Phil: Gamers?
- 8:15Peter Eggleston Connor: I didn't know my character was a loner, but anyhow…
- 8:18Tad Eggleston: I didn't say that yours was, but I was, Chu was…
- 8:23Peter Eggleston Connor: Was he really a loner, or was he a wallflower?
- 8:26Phil: There we go.
- 8:27Peter Eggleston Connor: Same thing.
- 8:28Phil: We… we are fleshing out the loaner high schooler subclass to include a bunch of specializations here,
- 8:35Tad Eggleston: That is, that is true.
- 8:36Phil: the goal. Alright, so what kind of loaner were you?
- 8:41Phil: Like, what was it that… was it, like, social anxiety that kept you from other.
- 8:45Tad Eggleston: John Bender, or.
- 8:48Phil: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Was it… that's… because that's the thing, is that… is that Lex was the, sort of…
- 8:54Phil: she was… she was less of a loner, more of an outcast, and she was the head of the outcast group, at her, high school. So she had all the cool… the cool burnout friends. And that was what distinguished her from, the
- 9:11Phil: what's it? Alan's, lonerness, aloofness more than lonerness. He was…
- 9:19Tad Eggleston: I don't know if I was aloof as much as…
- 9:22Peter Eggleston Connor: I don't know, I'm pretty sure…
- 9:24Tad Eggleston: Oblivious.
- 9:26Peter Eggleston Connor: Sounds a.
- 9:26Phil: bear.
- 9:26Peter Eggleston Connor: Me.
- 9:28Phil: Unintentional aloofness.
- 9:31Phil: So, yeah. But yeah.
- 9:33Tad Eggleston: The psychiatrist in the room is going, potato, potato.
- 9:38Phil: There we go.
- 9:40Larry Woods: I always say what stands out to me is…
- 9:44Larry Woods: It was a loaner just due to relocation.
- 9:47Phil: Whoa!
- 9:48Larry Woods: He… it is a he. He came…
- 9:52Larry Woods: To a different school, and just could not fit in.
- 9:56Larry Woods: I think it maybe had to do with a little bit of a regional or a dialect in terms of language, but…
- 10:03Larry Woods: Yeah, he just couldn't fit in, because no matter how much he tried, he sounded different.
- 10:09Peter Eggleston Connor: Jeff, where'd you come from before?
- 10:15Larry Woods: DVD. No, I would say that he,
- 10:20Larry Woods: Definitely much more… if I think of it in terms of, like, U.S. lingo, I would say more of, like, a rural sort of background, so, like, he definitely has, like, a sort of a draw.
- 10:31Peter Eggleston Connor: Okay.
- 10:31Tad Eggleston: I totally forget, we're kind of Midwestern suburban, aren't we?
- 10:35Phil: I think so.
- 10:35Tad Eggleston: Or was that just my assumption, because I am Midwestern? I think it's a…
- 10:40Phil: Fair assumption, since We…
- 10:43Phil: we had… so I… it was a soft establishment. We, we, we figured out that,
- 10:51Phil: I lived around Chicagoland before moving down to Nashville, and so there were a couple areas where I was like, hey, you know that store? My dad worked at that store. Hey, you know this store? I worked at that store. Sort of thing. So I think… I think Midwestern suburban, like, Chicagoland,
- 11:05Phil: So then, if you move from… from there to Chicagoland, yeah, there's definitely not a lot of drawl in, up north. And I know that, that's where Chu is, and Peter has been there, but is not there currently, so it was, you know…
- 11:17Phil: And Peter also grew up there.
- 11:20Peter Eggleston Connor: Yeah, I was gonna say, I also…
- 11:21Tad Eggleston: I mean, Peter is my brother. Has been there…
- 11:26Phil: Certainly, Barry.
- 11:27Peter Eggleston Connor: What?
- 11:31Peter Eggleston Connor: Crazy!
- 11:32Tad Eggleston: We did spend many of our years of our life living in the same house.
- 11:37Phil: Now that is shocking.
- 11:39Phil: Kidding, kidding. Okay, so rural, too, now suburban. Believe it or not,
- 11:46Phil: that… I went through a lot of that. I moved, as a kid. We moved, like, 7 times in 7 years before landing in Chicago, so, yeah, heart, heart goes out to old Wilhelm there. Okay, so couldn't fit in, we're all… so what was…
- 12:02Phil: What was he interested in? You know, what were his hobbies? What, you know, what shows did he like? What music did he like? Games of some sort was playing?
- 12:13Larry Woods: I think his music… Musical taste of choice was a little bit more like the blues.
- 12:19Phil: Okay.
- 12:20Larry Woods: Definitely like more of the blues in that way.
- 12:22Larry Woods: In terms of hobbies,
- 12:28Larry Woods: I know he likes sort of fidgeting with ice. Like…
- 12:31Larry Woods: He had his old paradise, that…
- 12:35Larry Woods: It was kind of gifted to him from, like, his grandfather, and, but…
- 12:41Larry Woods: He had passed, so, like, he learned these, got these dice, but never really knew what to do with them, so he would always sort of fidget with them.
- 12:48Larry Woods: So, I think with that.
- 12:52Larry Woods: That's probably also one of the things that made him sort of weird at the school, is that he would have these pair of dice, he would fidget with them in school, but…
- 13:00Larry Woods: It's like, why are you playing with dice? I think that could be another thing for him.
- 13:06Phil: Were they D6? What kind of dice were these?
- 13:09Larry Woods: They were D6, yeah.
- 13:10Phil: Okay, okay.
- 13:11Larry Woods: Get me fixed.
- 13:12Phil: Gotcha. So he… he was at least fidgeting with… with dice.
- 13:16Phil: So he was, you know… I'm just getting… I'm just clarifying here that… so anyone who observed him could have assumed, okay, that's like a Monopoly thing, as opposed to seeing the… the weird…
- 13:27Phil: tetrahedrons that, that, that, that we use, that we use today. So, okay, that's a good one. So he was into that. Did he… let me… let me dig up something in… from the book really quick. I had…
- 13:45Phil: There was… did he… What… I guess, so…
- 13:50Phil: he enjoyed fidgeting with dice. Did he have anything like a safe place, or a, like, sort of hideout? These are a little bit overdramatic, but, like.
- 14:03Phil: Where did, where did he hang out?
- 14:06Larry Woods: Okay, so there was actually this, ridge line, and it's old place or new place?
- 14:13Phil: Both. Either one, whichever you got.
- 14:16Larry Woods: The old place, he had a sort of a ridgeline, like, trees around his area, and he has sort of thrown up what was a sort of tarp-ish area, to where, like, he could just go and sit
- 14:30Larry Woods: honor, like… Not too far, it was maybe 10, 20 feet into it, so he could still see…
- 14:36Larry Woods: out into the sort of open area, but he would sit there, and as it rained, or as it, cloudy, whatever the case, he would kind of sit there and sort of contemplate. So even in his sort of safe space, he was still alone in that way.
- 14:50Phil: Okay.
- 14:51Larry Woods: And his new place, I think he's still struggling to find that. I mean…
- 14:55Phil: Mmm.
- 14:57Phil: It's good.
- 14:59Phil: This is… this is… I…
- 15:01Phil: I say that that's good, and that immediately gives me thoughts of, Coralax and things that he's missing. So he's lost his Fortress of Solitude.
- 15:13Phil: In that, I also just love imagining, like, a kid anywhere from, like, 10 to 15 meditating alone in the forest. Like, that's very interesting to me.
- 15:28Phil: So, okay, so… Real quick.
- 15:33Phil: Do you… so now as an adult, because… so we set this, to where we were in high school in the mid-90s-ish? Or did we say early 2000?
- 15:47Phil: Somewhere around there, somewhere from the.
- 15:49Peter Eggleston Connor: I'm pretty sure we said mid-90s.
- 15:51Phil: Midnight.
- 15:52Peter Eggleston Connor: about our, like, I think it's set in this timeline, and we're in our Third… 40s.
- 15:59Tad Eggleston: Yeah, I thought we'd decided on…
- 16:01Phil: Early 40s, yeah.
- 16:02Tad Eggleston: Late 90s or early 2000s.
- 16:05Phil: Yeah. So, I think our characters are in their, like, early 40s, except for Chu, who established that he's 28, so he was younger than us, and that was another reason why he watched the game and didn't play.
- 16:14Tad Eggleston: Well, then we gotta be… if he's 28, we should be mid-30s. He shouldn't be that much younger than us.
- 16:23Phil: Okay.
- 16:23Peter Eggleston Connor: I mean… .
- 16:25Phil: He could've… he could have been the… the child of the store owner at the time.
- 16:29Tad Eggleston: Yeah, but what I'm saying is, if we're in our 40s, that means he's an infant while we're 12.
- 16:37Phil: Okay, good point, good point, good point. I'm picking up what you're putting down. Okay, so yeah, so we're in our mid-30s, and.
- 16:43Peter Eggleston Connor: He's 28, okay. Well, we played this game in high school, so we wouldn't have been 12, we would have been, like…
- 16:49Tad Eggleston: Okay, so he's a toddler while we're playing.
- 16:52Phil: Yeah, that's what we're… that's what we're kind of like.
- 16:54Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): And do you start going to the comic book shop by yourself?
- 16:57Phil: Right.
- 16:57Tad Eggleston: I think we… yeah, I think we want him to at least be, like…
- 17:03Tad Eggleston: I was thinking, like, the range for him being younger than us is, like.
- 17:08Tad Eggleston: 5 to 7 years younger than us. So if he's 28, we should tap out.
- 17:13Peter Eggleston Connor: Totally, like, 35.
- 17:14Phil: Perfect, I'm 35 right now, so let's roll with it. Right.
- 17:18Phil: I'm perfectly in character for this, let's do it. Alright, awesome. So… let me see… so what I'm looking for… there's a series of questions…
- 17:30Peter Eggleston Connor: I just want to play 10 years younger?
- 17:33Tad Eggleston: No, no.
- 17:33Phil: 10 years ago.
- 17:34Tad Eggleston: I…
- 17:34Peter Eggleston Connor: It was a joke!
- 17:37Tad Eggleston: Just… just doing the math, man!
- 17:40Phil: No, no, no, I… I want the match.
- 17:42Peter Eggleston Connor: Dope.
- 17:43Phil: I want the math to hold strong.
- 17:45Phil: It's… it's one of those things, so I, I, I am a, big on iceberg theory, and part of that is making sure that the math checks out, even if the audience never sees it.
- 17:56Phil: So yes, that's… I like it. Okay, here we go. So, we had… Let's see here…
- 18:07Phil: Okay. Let's see…
- 18:16Phil: Alright, yeah, I'm gonna go with this. So, in high school, you had an all-consuming interest, your absolute obsession. What was it?
- 18:30Larry Woods: I think it was just a historical… firearms.
- 18:36Phil: Fun.
- 18:37Larry Woods: Yeah, just like… Whether it be…
- 18:42Larry Woods: Like, revolvers, whether that be, like,
- 18:46Larry Woods: like, Vietnam… no, no, was it Korean? I'm forgetting the name of it right now, but the rifle.
- 18:52Phil: Okay.
- 18:54Tad Eggleston: the… I think Vietnam was the M…
- 18:57Larry Woods: M1 Garand. Thank you.
- 18:59Tad Eggleston: Right.
- 18:59Phil: That was NAMM. That was NAM. What was Korea then?
- 19:03Larry Woods: That was one I was thinking about.
- 19:05Phil: Okay.
- 19:06Tad Eggleston: Yeah, no, no, it was… M1 is Korea, because the Vietnam was… I just know that there's a Punisher storyline where when they introduced, like, the M3 or whatever, and they forced them to switch out, even though…
- 19:24Phil: They're not perfected, so they're, like, jamming, and they're, you know, and the…
- 19:29Tad Eggleston: The platoons that are doing the best are the ones that accidentally didn't send their old guns back.
- 19:35Phil: Wow, awesome. That, that sounds like it'd be a Garth Ennis, puncture story.
- 19:40Tad Eggleston: It was.
- 19:41Phil: Yeah, I had a… yeah, I had a feeling. Okay, awesome. That's… that is very cool. Okay, so now,
- 19:49Phil: What are you… I feel like that's… that's at least a foundation. Was there anything else, like, a big, big thing from your, from your teenage years that you wanted to add here? Anything I haven't asked that you'd like to join?
- 20:05Larry Woods: Not as of right now. If anything comes up, like I was saying off-air, I'm a big improv guy, and I'm a big fan of Yes And, so if we think of something, we can take it and roll with it.
- 20:17Phil: Absolutely. One of the catchphrases for playing Die is persona generation never ends. Basically the idea that
- 20:25Phil: we're gonna… we're gonna keep learning about these people as we play, and that is part of the heart of the game. So now, you know, so that would be a good 20 years later, as an adult, what is Wilhelm doing? What is his profession?
- 20:40Larry Woods: I'd say he's a little bit more of a security guard.
- 20:44Phil: Okay.
- 20:46Larry Woods: One of those that, like, one of the sort of guard trucks, so, like, he goes and sort of collects money, he keeps…
- 20:54Tad Eggleston: So, so he's, he works at a, with, armored car company.
- 21:00Larry Woods: Yes.
- 21:02Tad Eggleston: I was about to ask what kind of security guard, because, like, you could be personal security, you could be, like, store security, warehouse security…
- 21:10Tad Eggleston: I like that. Armored truck… armored car truck.
- 21:13Phil: Yeah, I've dealt with those people, they're very serious. They don't fuck around.
- 21:18Tad Eggleston: That's… I mean, they don't fuck around, but I've known some that…
- 21:22Tad Eggleston: We're still able to not be serious.
- 21:26Tad Eggleston: Except when it came to… Like, you don't joke with them about the money.
- 21:32Phil: Yeah, absolutely.
- 21:33Tad Eggleston: You don't say.
- 21:35Phil: Hey, you want one of these for your back pocket? Absolutely not. Right, right.
- 21:39Phil: Okay, very interesting there. Is he in a relationship, married, single?
- 21:48Phil: No relationship? Okay. So he has maintained loader status well into… Into adulthood.
- 21:59Phil: Okay, I am now… have you seen, Season 1 of True Detective?
- 22:05Larry Woods: I have not.
- 22:06Phil: You have not. Dang it. I'm wondering if, That's just…
- 22:12Phil: One of the cops that Matthew McConaughey plays is,
- 22:17Phil: Just a touch esoteric, he's a… he's a very interesting loner.
- 22:20Larry Woods: So I was wondering, if you'd seen that, I would have said, alright, on that scale, how close is it? But you're fine, it's okay. So, actually, funny enough, I had to throw this out now, because in my head, I had a blend between…
- 22:32Larry Woods: Matthew McConaughey.
- 22:34Larry Woods: the Dark Tower, and, the Ghoul, and Fallout.
- 22:39Phil: Some Walton Goggins in there!
- 22:42Larry Woods: Yes, sir.
- 22:43Phil: That is awesome!
- 22:44Larry Woods: That's what I had in mind.
- 22:47Phil: Alright, I can see the silly side coming out, because I'm… I can't imagine Walton Goggins without thinking of baby Billy Freeman. Now, yeah, that's… that's… that's stuck in there. Okay, so let's see this follow-up one. So now,
- 23:04Phil: Oh, okay, this… okay, interesting. Oh, maybe. So, it says your all-consuming interest, it's no longer in your life. Why? So those historical firearms, why would that have…
- 23:18Phil: lapsed.
- 23:20Phil: If that's not interesting, I can pick a different
- 23:24Phil: like, paired question there, because I really liked the historical firearms, and I had a feeling that if you did pick the gun upgrade, it would be a historical firearm that shoots
- 23:33Phil: Better ammunition accurately.
- 23:35Tad Eggleston: No, but even if it's lapsed, he could still…
- 23:38Tad Eggleston: Wind up deciding that he needed to.
- 23:40Phil: Yeah, so if it… I guess…
- 23:42Tad Eggleston: Yeah, so yeah, there's lots of story opportunities there.
- 23:46Phil: Is that interesting to you, a lapse in the love of historical firearms that then comes back in this fantasy world? Does that make sense for him?
- 23:55Larry Woods: Yeah, absolutely.
- 23:56Phil: Okay. So how did he drift away from the hobby, or was… was there any… was it, like,
- 24:02Phil: Just lost time, got caught up in the…
- 24:08Phil: Caught up in the, you know, run of daily life, or is it that…
- 24:12Phil: He's forced to use modern firearms, but…
- 24:19Phil: I don't know. I don't know.
- 24:21Larry Woods: Where's your.
- 24:21Phil: bingo.
- 24:23Larry Woods: part of me wants to say the time aspect, like, he doesn't have time for it, but I do like the… the idea…
- 24:31Larry Woods: is that… I just keep getting this nagging, sort of, influence of, like, his deceased grandfather.
- 24:39Phil: Oh, okay.
- 24:40Larry Woods: That was, like, a big thing for him, why he was so interested in these, old artifacts. But with the DeSoto development and, like, firearm technology, again, from his knowledge and seeing where things go is, it became much more modern, semi-automatic. So yeah, I think that could play a role in terms of.
- 24:58Phil: Okay.
- 24:59Larry Woods: Well, it doesn't matter, because I have to carry a modern gadget.
- 25:04Phil: Right.
- 25:05Phil: Let's see here, so…
- 25:09Phil: So, well, real quick, I was gonna say, in the game, I mean, it can literally be whatever aesthetics we want with modern performance, or even, you know, if it was, like.
- 25:18Phil: hey, you know, if it really was the M1 Grand was his obsession, then it's like, this is the… the perfect, the Plutonian ideal of an M1 Grand. You know, it never jams, it is… it is the ultimate one. The deceased grandfather, when did he pass?
- 25:34Phil: In, Wilhelm's life.
- 25:38Larry Woods: I would say that he passed when he was relatively young. I want to say around, like, 5 years old.
- 25:43Phil: Okay.
- 25:45Larry Woods: Gotcha. So…
- 25:47Phil: So he might have, like.
- 25:48Phil: inherited a collection or, like, had some kind of establishment with the grandfather, and so it might be something that, as a kid growing up, it was his obsession, but he had to put it down, you know, put the toys away for adulthood.
- 26:03Phil: And so it's, you know, I… again, tying this to my own… my own relation is, like, you know, I collected coins as a kid, not so much anymore.
- 26:12Phil: Okay.
- 26:12Larry Woods: I'm also thinking, too, is that as… not to put too much of a psychology spin on it, but grandfather died when he was young. It was a big influence on his life, and now he's…
- 26:24Larry Woods: I put 36, because that's how old I am. There we go. 30 years later, has he moved on? Is that what happened?
- 26:32Phil: So that's where, like, HESI sort of lost that interest.
- 26:36Phil: Hmm, sounds good, sounds good, I like that. So,
- 26:40Phil: How would you have known? I mean, I guess… I guess?
- 26:47Phil: So…
- 26:51Phil: I guess the obvious move that I'm reluctant for is to say that, oh, you were always there, and now you've suddenly, you know, but it's… it feels a little… I don't know about that. So is there one of our characters that you were maybe connected to, or even if you were connected to both Alan and Lex, like, if you went to their high school?
- 27:10Phil: And so, maybe never got to our game store, or if you did, never joined us in that same way that Eamon didn't,
- 27:19Phil: But, do you have any thoughts there? What's feeling right to you?
- 27:24Peter Eggleston Connor: I mean, I can toss out a possibility.
- 27:27Tad Eggleston: for…
- 27:27Peter Eggleston Connor: also had an idea. Yeah.
- 27:29Tad Eggleston: Yeah, we should both toss them out. Like, current time period, if he is an armored truck guard, and I'm a trillionaire whose wife handles the money.
- 27:42Tad Eggleston: He might actually have had interactions with Rose and noticed she was gone.
- 27:48Phil: Mmm.
- 27:50Phil: Okay.
- 27:52Peter Eggleston Connor: I was gonna throw out there, if, if, just by a sorta… Where was I going? Sorry.
- 28:02Peter Eggleston Connor: I was thinking it'd be interesting if he was a friend of Garyen's.
- 28:05Phil: Mmm!
- 28:06Tad Eggleston: Yeah, I got too.
- 28:07Phil: Okay.
- 28:08Peter Eggleston Connor: Where was I? I had some line of thought, and my head just, like, scattered this morning, but,
- 28:16Peter Eggleston Connor: Yeah, and we're like, oh, that was it. And he was… he came and tried it, like, once.
- 28:22Phil: Hmm.
- 28:23Peter Eggleston Connor: And then was like, this isn't for me, and stepped away.
- 28:27Phil: Okay.
- 28:28Phil: Does that… does that sound like a good thing to you? Because one of the other questions that I… I just came up with was, now in your… in your,
- 28:37Phil: as an adult, are games a part of your life at all? And also, do you still have a connection to dice?
- 28:45Larry Woods: Oh, oh, yeah. I think, less so with fidgeting, I think it's, became sort of a…
- 28:53Larry Woods: a totem. Like, he sort of, like, you… phone, wallet, keys, dice. Like, you always have them on him, on his curse, and even though he may not fidget with it as much.
- 29:03Larry Woods: What is…
- 29:05Phil: I'm a dice goblin as you grew up?
- 29:07Larry Woods: Right.
- 29:08Larry Woods: Just those two. Yeah, that'd be fun.
- 29:12Larry Woods: What about… what is or who is Garian?
- 29:15Phil: Oh, so Garian was the, that was the first character I played before I… I concealed the mask. So, yeah, so it was one of those, since we started out this game with only, 4 players, you know, basically there were 2 extra dice, and I wanted to find a way to include all of them. So I was like, oh.
- 29:35Phil: I'll play characters that are… that use the D12 and the D4, and then I realized that
- 29:40Phil: I didn't have the bandwidth to be a GM and play 3 Personas at once, so I kind of condensed those down just a wee bit. And so that's how we ended up, Garian… Garian… so, but Garian's the one who pulled everyone into the game, but now he's… he's dead and absent.
- 29:59Phil: So he's… he's not around, and as I've… I've teased the master's identity, we will… I mean, if I… I don't know about at any point, but, you know, it's one of those, if… if someone says, I'd like to solve the puzzle,
- 30:17Phil: But one of the big clues is that, so the master is masked, so nobody knows who they are, but,
- 30:24Phil: It's… they are someone who…
- 30:29Phil: Us playing this game would recognize, but the personas would not.
- 30:33Larry Woods: Okay.
- 30:34Phil: Yeah, so it's…
- 30:35Larry Woods: Interesting.
- 30:35Phil: Yeah, it's a little bit of a meta twist at this point.
- 30:38Larry Woods: Yeah.
- 30:39Peter Eggleston Connor: Oh, it's Phil.
- 30:41Peter Eggleston Connor: Just kidding.
- 30:42Larry Woods: Boom, bum, boom, right?
- 30:44Phil: You got me.
- 30:46Phil: So… so yeah, so that is kind of the state of play. So, couple of things I was thinking. What is the…
- 30:58Phil: Okay, so, if you did know Garian, and… oh, okay, armored car driver, you might have interacted with, crossed paths with…
- 31:09Tad Eggleston: Rose, or… Yeah, more likely Rose than me, but not.
- 31:13Phil: Right.
- 31:14Tad Eggleston: impossible.
- 31:16Phil: Yeah.
- 31:17Tad Eggleston: Ida.
- 31:18Phil: you would… he would potentially know of Alan without having met him.
- 31:24Phil: Okay.
- 31:25Tad Eggleston: Yeah.
- 31:25Phil: So there we go, and unfortunately, that… no cash at the library, so that doesn't really… well, there is cash at the library, but it's, like, 10 bucks at a time.
- 31:35Larry Woods: What else also can be…
- 31:36Tad Eggleston: I mean, he didn't… he didn't say which library he works at.
- 31:39Phil: No, I mean, from having worked at a library, yes, they do have cash on hand, but it's literally, like.
- 31:44Phil: $25 in the register.
- 31:46Tad Eggleston: I imagine if it was the main bank of…
- 31:50Tad Eggleston: branch of the New York Public Library, it'd be a little bit…
- 31:55Peter Eggleston Connor: Very possible.
- 31:56Tad Eggleston: I said it was a universal.
- 31:58Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): I said it was a university library, so…
- 32:00Peter Eggleston Connor: Yeah, so that also carved…
- 32:03Phil: Yeah.
- 32:03Tad Eggleston: Well, but armored cars don't only carry cash, so he could interact by, you know, if there's, like, a truly valuable book or manuscript or whatnot that gets moved between libraries, they're not just putting it in a car.
- 32:19Phil: That's interesting.
- 32:20Larry Woods: I was thinking.
- 32:20Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): That, or just… Occasionally goes and…
- 32:25Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): looks for if there's any kind of specific niche about, well, you know, with weaponry, University Library is a good place for information.
- 32:35Peter Eggleston Connor: The question is, what does Lee want to, accept for his character? Yes. Not really, like, we can come up with 9 million scenarios of anything, but, we don't need to.
- 32:47Phil: This is a great point. This is a great point. So yeah, so what, what are you, what are you feeling? Pick a favorite!
- 32:52Larry Woods: Yeah, I love the armored car, like, kind of meeting,
- 32:56Larry Woods: I forget who's where, so, Rose is, Tad's potential… Relations, let's just say relationship.
- 33:02Phil: This is love interest, yeah.
- 33:04Larry Woods: And then, there's the, library… who's in… who's with the library?
- 33:08Phil: That is Chu. Eamon is, working at the University Library.
- 33:14Larry Woods: Okay.
- 33:16Larry Woods: Yeah, I like the idea of the, rose.
- 33:22Phil: Okay.
- 33:23Larry Woods: And, I would say, too, like, even if they did meet, Wilhelm, or, I should say Willie, if… to his friends.
- 33:30Phil: really… there we go.
- 33:32Larry Woods: Is, very quiet, so if anything, he might have just kind of given you a nod, and just…
- 33:37Larry Woods: Went out the door, so he's not…
- 33:40Phil: Boom.
- 33:40Larry Woods: Meh.
- 33:41Phil: Okay.
- 33:42Phil: Very interesting. Very, very interesting.
- 33:45Phil: So… I think… I think we're ready for the ritual of going in to die.
- 33:55Phil: Real quick, I was gonna let you know, Tad, this is… this might be a little… a little more info than we need at the moment, but the way I'm thinking of handling rows is that… so, in Die.
- 34:10Phil: there are… I would say, I would describe…
- 34:14Tad Eggleston: Lee, I know I pitched it to him. Do you know if Edgar's willing to come play, Rose?
- 34:20Tad Eggleston: Or does he want his own character?
- 34:23Larry Woods: I don't know, I can ask him, though.
- 34:26Phil: we can keep… we can keep that as a possibility. Yes, because that was… that was my thought, is once there is someone to play Rose, they can then take the reins, but in the meantime… so, what I was gonna say is that, Die… I would say that it mostly has mechanics.
- 34:42Phil: And then the actual rules, there's really only 6 principles or guiding rules, you know? One of those is that the idea that,
- 34:50Phil: Players have final say on their personas. So, who you are, your background, your connections to the real world.
- 34:59Phil: you get… you get to decide that. You know, that's… that's something that we can all suggest, and I can, you know, offer to modify throughout suggestions, but you ultimately get to pick… pick those things. And then I am in control of the world of DAI. So, in that similar way, you know, you could even, in the world.
- 35:17Phil: throw to me suggestions of, like, oh, hey, this, you know, this sounds interesting, and I might take it and say, okay, now it's a zombie, or something like that. But, that's one of the principles. So the way I'm handling Rose, she is part of Alan's backstory, but now also in the world, die.
- 35:35Phil: is that it's… it's a little bit of a reversal, in that I'll, you know.
- 35:40Phil: say things… oh, oh, the way I was gonna put it is that, so last episode, she was possessed by the God of Light, briefly?
- 35:48Phil: So now, she has… she's… she's aware of the world.
- 35:52Phil: She understands it because, you know, having her consciousness sharing space with a deity is enough to, like, leave behind trace understandings of the world. She's not questioning it, she, you know, basically, you don't need to explain anything to her, she just had a god in her head.
- 36:08Phil: It's hard to get more real than that. But… so I'll give her, like, possible world suggestions, and I'll play her, but I'll still defer to you for how you think she would act.
- 36:22Phil: in certain situations, like, it's basically one of those where, like, hey, if I… I don't want to take her in too unexpected of a territory, you know.
- 36:31Phil: One of those sorts of things. Might be a little much, but anyway. So now…
- 36:35Tad Eggleston: Sounds like a plan.
- 36:36Phil: Indeed, we are going to pass out the dice.
- 36:41Phil: I will actually start with the D4 this time. This belonged to Strife, who was Garian's half-sister and the lead singer of a heavy metal band, who,
- 36:55Phil: was part of the first game of Die that Garian played before starting this game with, we also found out that this group of friends was his, his… his test group.
- 37:09Phil: So he was running the game for his sister and her friends, trying to be cool, and this group was, like, a weird hodgepodge that he would throw out crazy ideas and stuff stuff together. But yeah, but she doesn't have… she's… she died at the end of last episode, so the T4…
- 37:25Phil: I gotta figure out what to do with the D4 in this intro, but that's that.
- 37:28Phil: Next, we have D8, and that is wielded by…
- 37:36Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): Oh, that's me. You went in reverse order.
- 37:41Phil: I did, I'm sorry.
- 37:43Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): Eamon Hartwell, Librarian, and he has no idea what's literally going on right now.
- 37:52Phil: Right, he wasn't here last time, and the only thing he said is, hey, I eat that weird piece of black licorice off the ground that came off of the, black licorice giant squid monster that was the Eldritch god, and ate it, and was possessed.
- 38:10Phil: Because why not? So he wasn't there, so I, I, I possessed him by the Eldritch God. In any case, that's Aemon. Next we have… the…
- 38:22Phil: one of our D10s, which the, the, the first one, the ones that is wielded by…
- 38:29Peter Eggleston Connor: Is that gonna be me?
- 38:31Phil: you, yes.
- 38:32Phil: Yeah, you're…
- 38:33Peter Eggleston Connor: You were… you know, it's, it's, you know…
- 38:36Phil: Yeah, it's gonna be tricky.
- 38:38Peter Eggleston Connor: That's wheeled by Lex, or Alex Romanansky. She is…
- 38:43Peter Eggleston Connor: the first Neo of the party,
- 38:48Peter Eggleston Connor: Yeah, and I'm pretty sure she thinks all the gods are douches. Anyhow…
- 38:55Phil: - .
- 38:58Peter Eggleston Connor: And, you know, I know…
- 39:03Peter Eggleston Connor: Anyhow, we'll see how that plays out.
- 39:06Phil: We will indeed. Which brings us to our second D10, the… the tens digit. That one is going to be wielded by…
- 39:15Larry Woods: Lee.
- 39:17Phil: You just introduced yourself. We just… we just got time getting to know ya. Who are you?
- 39:21Larry Woods: Yep.
- 39:22Larry Woods: Just this guy.
- 39:24Phil: Alright, so that is Wilhelm DeFoa. Just a reminder, we're getting those. Willie, Willie to his friends. Awesome. Next up,
- 39:34Phil: we have the D6, which is… oh, I keep… I forgot to say… I've been saying wielded by it. The typical one is to say there is only one, it is special, and it is yours. So, this D10.
- 39:46Phil: Of the 10's place. It is special, there is only one, and it is yours. That's how we have two D10s that are slightly differently. Same set.
- 39:55Phil: And now we have the perfectly average, everyday, normal D6, which is the only weapon Tad can be trusted with, and he plays…
- 40:05Tad Eggleston: I play guitar and drums.
- 40:14Tad Eggleston: I didn't know about the drums, this is new.
- 40:17Tad Eggleston: Well, I do it on the guitar.
- 40:19Phil: Oh, okay.
- 40:19Tad Eggleston: separate set.
- 40:21Phil: You drum on the strings, if you will.
- 40:23Tad Eggleston: Well, no, I draw them on, like, the wood part.
- 40:28Phil: The body? Probably not.
- 40:29Tad Eggleston: Right, right, right, right, right,
- 40:33Tad Eggleston: I may have… I may have altered my guitar to get better sounds at different parts on the body, I…
- 40:39Phil: Interesting. Or at least I told somebody to. Sure.
- 40:42Tad Eggleston: Or because we're in this magical world, it just happens because I think it… I don't actually know, but I get the sounds that I want, so I don't think too hard about it. Oh, oh, you meant my name.
- 40:58Tad Eggleston: and Spectrum.
- 41:02Phil: Spectrum.
- 41:03Tad Eggleston: spectrum.
- 41:05Tad Eggleston: Ellen Spectrum.
- 41:07Tad Eggleston: No, no, we're just gonna go with Ellen Spectra.
- 41:09Phil: Excellent, excellent.
- 41:12Tad Eggleston: But you can call me Al.
- 41:14Tad Eggleston: No, no, I don't like that. No, no, we're gonna stick with Alan.
- 41:17Phil: Do not call him Al.
- 41:19Tad Eggleston: Don't call me Al. No, I don't like that. I tried it out! Doesn't work.
- 41:23Phil: Well, at least you tried. And finally, we have the D12, the Die of the Gods, that was stolen by the Master.
- 41:33Phil: who wields DD20, which is also mine. And now, if you'll each take your special die.
- 41:42Phil: Lift it into the air, close your eyes.
- 41:46Phil: And then slowly lower it to the table.
- 41:50Phil: And hold onto it, and let go in 3… 2.
- 41:55Phil: One… Open your eyes, and you are in the world of dye.
- 42:01Phil: For the first time, Wilhelm DeFoa,
- 42:07Phil: What is the last thing you remember of the real world?
- 42:13Phil: Were you driving alone? Were you sitting alone? Were you… and you're one of your few times, interacting with people, not being alone?
- 42:22Larry Woods: I think one of the first things… something so mundane, is just… Exiting the security guard truck.
- 42:33Larry Woods: on his own, Turn off the truck.
- 42:37Larry Woods: taking a deep breath, about to go into his just regular old apartment. He gets out, and then as he goes and slams the door.
- 42:48Phil: So you slam the car door, and then you turn around, and you're in this other world. So, where you are is a…
- 42:57Phil: 20 foot by 20 foot cube.
- 43:01Phil: Full of chrome.
- 43:03Phil: And in front of you, there is a table.
- 43:06Phil: And your die is floating above it.
- 43:10Phil: Spinning, slightly, rotating on its own.
- 43:13Phil: pulsing with strange, otherworldly energies. You can see the ghosts of 6 other dice floating around
- 43:23Phil: this table, those objects are not there. They're, like, grayed out, you know, unselectable. But you, you see this, this one that is, is pulsing there, and you feel drawn to it ever so slightly.
- 43:36Phil: This is… this is to, to let you know.
- 43:41Phil: Typically, we would all be together when this was happening. And one by one, we would each take our die and have our magical girl transformation sequences as you… you…
- 43:51Phil: get surged with power and become the version of yourself that… that is in this world, and you get to describe, like, what you look like. We can… we actually briefly… I forgot completely to go over which, gift you pick and where you put your stat points, but we should definitely do that. We should do that very, very quickly.
- 44:09Peter Eggleston Connor: We should do that. Also, how's he getting this? Sorry, I was…
- 44:15Peter Eggleston Connor: Where is this dice coming from for him?
- 44:18Phil: So, he is,
- 44:22Phil: he was in the real world, he was, you know, getting off from work, he just got out of his car, and when he shut, like, the door behind him, he is now in… he's in a box. He is in a chrome box, and there's just this one die, and the ghosts of the six other dice around him.
- 44:40Peter Eggleston Connor: You don't want to, like, make him, like, you know, I mean, like, if he's a dice junkie, he could go to, like, buy dice, and there could be a mysterious dice salesman.
- 44:52Phil: There could have been. That… that would have been a really great idea if… if, you know, if, if I had… if… yeah, dang.
- 45:00Peter Eggleston Connor: I mean, you can make decisions on the spot!
- 45:02Phil: Well, this is… this is setting him up just to… I mean, he's… the point is, you're in the world now.
- 45:11Phil: We're… real quick, you grab your die, you get everyone… so here's the thing, you start out…
- 45:16Peter Eggleston Connor: Sorry, I distracted you from stats and things.
- 45:19Phil: Okay, that's okay, it's alright. I welcome distraction. So all the stats start out as 2. That's average, that's your average, everyday normal stat. You know, if you have a 3, that means you are as good
- 45:34Phil: As the best person in that, like, the best human possibly, like, you know, you can do gymnastics without training, and then a 4 is superhuman.
- 45:47Phil: But you get two stat points to put into, you know, they're the typical role-playing stats of Constitution, which is health.
- 45:55Phil: Strength, physical attacks, dexterity.
- 45:58Phil: guard and, ranged attacks. The ones that are good for you are going to be guard and… or not guard, but, dexterity and intelligence, and then Wisdom is for religious matters, and Charisma, you know, interpersonal stuff. But you get two stat points to put where you want, and you get to select what your gift
- 46:16Phil: of the Neo is, if you had taken a look at those. I have a feeling it should be the gun for your first one.
- 46:25Larry Woods: Yeah. Yeah. I would agree.
- 46:27Phil: Yeah. So… Do you know…
- 46:32Peter Eggleston Connor: Starting it, out of curiosity.
- 46:34Phil: What's that? Oh, the starting gift.
- 46:36Peter Eggleston Connor: starting at…
- 46:36Phil: He is starting at level 1. Oh, okay. Yeah, so…
- 46:40Phil: he is… so that's the thing is, yeah, he's getting dropped in, and that's how… that's what we're gonna do that going forward, is basically he's gonna be at level 1, he's gonna, gain some levels as he gets more comfortable, and acclimates to the world just a little bit more, and basically leave, you know, with your own comfort as you get… you know, it's basically one of those where I'm like.
- 46:59Phil: you know, you start out picking one thing. I don't want to be like, alright, let's come in, pick six things, now we're in combat, decide which of those 6 things you want to use. No, no, no, you got your gun.
- 47:08Phil: Okay.
- 47:10Phil: Awesome. And then, so the upgrade on that, which of those…
- 47:17Phil: If I'm looking at the pages here, there is explosive, homing, AI-assisted targeting, phaser-to-stun, trick shooting, tracking. I didn't know if you'd had time to look at those yet.
- 47:30Larry Woods: Yes, I'm just having trouble with the PDF.
- 47:32Phil: Oh, okay.
- 47:33Larry Woods: Definitely look at that right now.
- 47:35Phil: Gotcha.
- 47:36Phil: tempted to hold… holding the page to the screen, unless that's mirrored. Is that mirrored? That's not helpful.
- 47:45Peter Eggleston Connor: Oh, put it back on.
- 47:47Phil: Well, yeah, okay, alright.
- 47:49Tad Eggleston: I think it was.
- 47:50Peter Eggleston Connor: It's not mirrored, it's only mirrored to you.
- 47:52Phil: It's only merely.
- 47:53Peter Eggleston Connor: Yeah, for you, because…
- 47:54Phil: Interesting.
- 47:55Peter Eggleston Connor: Trying to help you identify, like, where things are.
- 47:59Phil: Okay.
- 48:00Peter Eggleston Connor: Okay. But for the rest of us, it looks fine.
- 48:03Tad Eggleston: Zoom does stuff to make it so that, yeah.
- 48:06Peter Eggleston Connor: feel more comfortable.
- 48:07Phil: That is pretty dang cool.
- 48:09Peter Eggleston Connor: Yeah.
- 48:10Peter Eggleston Connor: So that when you tilt your head to the left, your head tilts to the left.
- 48:14Larry Woods: Yeah.
- 48:15Phil: Mmm!
- 48:16Larry Woods: Okay, I would say, wow, I really like at least 3 of these.
- 48:23Phil: You'll be able to get more as we go along, for sure. And between sessions, if you want to try out different abilities, we can do that too. You know, as you're getting familiar with it.
- 48:34Phil: I'm pretty… pretty open on respecking. If it gets… if I… if I'm concerned you're doing so for tactical advantages, I might… I might put a quest to it, but that's about it.
- 48:44Larry Woods: Okay. I'll stick with, right now, the AI-assisted targeting.
- 48:48Phil: Awesome! Alright, so that means you never have any environmental disadvantages on your attack roll. That is… that's good to go. And then, I know when…
- 48:59Phil: Peter was starting out, he put a point into dexterity and into intelligence.
- 49:05Phil: Did you want… did you want to favor one of those over the other?
- 49:09Larry Woods: I definitely would go Dexterity.
- 49:11Phil: Okay, so would you… do you want to put both there?
- 49:15Larry Woods: Dexterity and intelligence?
- 49:17Phil: Oh, no, no, no, so you get 2 points. So, so, and to real quick, the way that the points work is that… so, when it says it's a 2, that's the number of D6s you can roll for… for tasks relating to that, you know? So if you want to punch somebody in the face, that's strength, you'd roll two D6.
- 49:35Phil: 4 or greater is a success, so that roughs out to 75% chance of success for rolling 2.
- 49:41Phil: And then…
- 49:44Peter Eggleston Connor: Ron is your health.
- 49:45Phil: Yes, yes, so if you… if you put a point into that, then you get an extra… an extra health point. Also, putting a point into dexterity increases your guard, which is depleted before health, and is, refreshed between combats. So it's like a little shield. So if you put 2 points into dexterity, it would take 4 hits.
- 50:03Phil: Before you could even get wounded.
- 50:06Larry Woods: Oh, I see, so you don't split, it's like, you get the plus 2 to 1 scope.
- 50:10Phil: Well, no, no, no, you can… you can put one into each if you want. I just didn't know if… you said you were favoring dexterity, so it's like, okay, your options are either 2 into a single stat, or 1 into 2 different stats.
- 50:20Larry Woods: Oh, okay, I see.
- 50:21Phil: Yeah. Yeah.
- 50:22Larry Woods: Mom.
- 50:23Larry Woods: Yeah, I would do one… I come from the world of Pathfinder, so I'm like, let's kind of get both going. Okay. I would do one to Dexterity and one to Constitution.
- 50:32Phil: Oh, okay, okay.
- 50:34Phil: There we go…
- 50:36Larry Woods: He's a… he's a tough old thing.
- 50:37Phil: There we go, we wrote that down, that's great. And just so you know, when you hit levels 3, 6, 9, and 12, you get one more stat point to put wherever you want. So, yeah, so the other members of the party are gonna be a little bit stronger than you for now, but you will catch up.
- 50:54Phil: What do you look like? So, I'm assuming now that, you know, we've established you're gonna get a gun, you're.
- 51:01Peter Eggleston Connor: I'm the equipment page.
- 51:04Phil: the equipment page. Yeah, okay, yeah, so we could, we could.
- 51:07Peter Eggleston Connor: You don't have to use any of the equipment, they have something else in there, but…
- 51:11Phil: They do, yeah, but if, if.
- 51:14Peter Eggleston Connor: If it inspired. If you wanted to.
- 51:15Phil: Yeah, anything there? I'm trying to hold that up to the screen, but, you know, it's the… the die is pulsing slightly, it's… it's calling out to you as you move.
- 51:24Peter Eggleston Connor: Hmm.
- 51:25Peter Eggleston Connor: Tad, can I share my screen?
- 51:28Tad Eggleston: Yeah, I can make it so you can share your screen. Unacceptable. I think I… I think I also.
- 51:34Peter Eggleston Connor: D gave you a link to the full…
- 51:38Tad Eggleston: the full book, too, so if they give you page numbers, you can pull it up in your PDF.
- 51:42Phil: Oh yeah, page number… it's 70 in the book, so it's probably, like, 73 or 74 for the buffer pages, something like that, or the cover, you know.
- 51:53Phil: But yeah, so feel free to, you know, as, as, you know.
- 51:57Tad Eggleston: I'm sharing now.
- 51:58Phil: Peter.
- 51:59Phil: Whenever you feel comfortable enough to.
- 52:00Peter Eggleston Connor: Or remember how to share.
- 52:02Phil: Grab your die.
- 52:04Tad Eggleston: Down at the bottom, there's a green arrow that says share.
- 52:08Peter Eggleston Connor: Oh, okay, here we go.
- 52:09Larry Woods: So then, I think I might have misread this. Do I get a dagger, another dagger, and then a weapon? Or is it one?
- 52:15Phil: Let me see… I know you absolutely have daggers on you.
- 52:21Phil: So you have… so let me re-read that very quickly. So, equipment, you start with all of the following. A dagger, or any pointy thing which stabs. Another close weapon, short sword, second dagger, or something else. And a ranged weapon, pistol, rifle, or something else.
- 52:37Peter Eggleston Connor: Yeah, that's not including your… your, special gun.
- 52:43Phil: Well, no, that would be the special gun.
- 52:45Peter Eggleston Connor: The range weapon would be the special gun?
- 52:48Peter Eggleston Connor: Yeah. I thought they were separate.
- 52:50Phil: No, so… so it's basically… so, like, even your… your character, you have, like, a ranged weapon of some kind. Yeah, so you, you, I think, because I think you have…
- 52:58Phil: Was it… no, no, no, because you have a cane.
- 53:00Peter Eggleston Connor: No, no, I know I have a… I have a pistol.
- 53:04Phil: Yeah.
- 53:05Peter Eggleston Connor: But I was just saying, like…
- 53:08Phil: what I was trying to say was, he has the Neo-gift of God. Yes. I think that's separate.
- 53:14Phil: Right, so, so the way that works…
- 53:16Peter Eggleston Connor: With that, like, you could have, say, a pistol, and then you could have your,
- 53:21Peter Eggleston Connor: your Neo Gift Gundby, your Guran. Like, Garin.
- 53:26Phil: Right. So, the way… the way I would say that works is that, he… he… like, if the Garand is… is what he has.
- 53:33Phil: that's what he's got. It's a regular Garand until he gets a fair gold, and then it gets the AI enhancement, it gets the… it gets upgraded there. So that's… so the idea… the thing about the Neo, it's a little bit different from every other class in that you… when you grab your die, you transform
- 53:50Phil: But you are not filled with power, because you have yet to acquire a piece of fair gold to power up your equipment, so you're still mostly a regular person. You know, you'll have your…
- 54:00Peter Eggleston Connor: Until you become a druggie.
- 54:02Phil: Yes, until you find the… that… that sweet, sweet fair gold, which I've already decided, so just whatever fallen we encounter,
- 54:13Phil: I'll… I'll be signaling to… to you two. So, Peter's, Fergal turn into coins.
- 54:22Phil: that he then puts into a slot behind his ear and, fall into the game of Plinko in his soul, where he gets the power. So yours, I was thinking that it would either… they would either turn into bullets.
- 54:37Phil: or dice. I have a feeling that…
- 54:40Phil: turning them into little D6. You can't use them as D6, but, like, you would collect them in some way, and then you would figure out, you know, do you want to eat them? Do you want to, like.
- 54:49Peter Eggleston Connor: No, no, they're just dice, and then he puts those dice in his gun, and cheats the gun.
- 54:54Phil: I like that. Or, or, you know, you could… whatever you want, whatever you feel like, you could get as, as strange as you want. If you wanna, if you wanna shoot, shoot dice, you know, rip and roll, roll and rip? I don't know. But yeah, and then, of course, what, what are you wearing, you know?
- 55:12Phil: Feel, feel free to, you know.
- 55:15Phil: Empower, empower yourself however, however you want to look.
- 55:19Larry Woods: Yeah, I'm gonna go with, definitely the billowing black cloak and Santa's scarlet eyes. I think that'll look real good while shooting a firearm. I'll say that he has a sort of…
- 55:33Larry Woods: almost like a Western feel to him, so he has, like, this sort of vest,
- 55:40Larry Woods: for some reason, I'm remembering, oh my goodness, the Clint Eastwood movie, The Unforgiven, Gene Hackett
- 55:46Larry Woods: So, like, he's kind of dressed up fairly nicely with the… little…
- 55:52Larry Woods: cowboy hat, and I got the vest on. I definitely got the boots, not with the clangers, though, just regular boots, and…
- 56:00Phil: Okay.
- 56:00Larry Woods: I have a feeling he has, like, a pouch. I'm wondering if, like, the dice, he just kind of puts them into a pouch to sort of… Okay. I wonder.
- 56:07Phil: Interesting, yeah. That's a good idea as well. Yeah, well, that's where you could keep them.
- 56:12Phil: Because you, you will have to use them to… to power yourself, so we'll, we'll, that, that'll… definitely a little dice box on your belt. Awesome. So as… as you grab the dice… oh, and of course, your gun. What, what kind of gun is it? Is it the… is it the M1? Is it, is it the, the…
- 56:29Phil: The perfect, like, it, you know, go nuts.
- 56:33Larry Woods: Yeah, so the… in my mind, and this is… you tell me how far I can go with it, but I imagine, especially from the security guard job, he has this sort of modern firearm.
- 56:44Larry Woods: that when he transforms, when he checks his sort of side, he actually realizes he has a, Colt 45 revolver.
- 56:53Larry Woods: Instead of the traditional, like, Glock or Smith & Wesson.
- 56:58Larry Woods: So, I would say that it probably starts out with the… the Colt 45, but…
- 57:03Larry Woods: I imagine somewhere along the way, he would want a grand.
- 57:06Phil: Okay, yeah, we can… we can figure out how that happens, like, it could… it could start out a Colt 45, and then as you get more upgrades, it could slowly turn into a Grand. It's at this point that, one of… one of my favorite songs when I was a kid, was Ka…
- 57:23Phil: California Kit by the beet farmers, and one of the lines is, I got my Colt 45 right by my side. So, heck yeah, we're running with it. So, you do that, you feel that surge of power, come into you.
- 57:38Phil: And then… something awful.
- 57:41Phil: crawls from the ground, and one of the fallen. These are, like.
- 57:49Phil: Orcs, in that they are awful, they're evil, you can kill them.
- 57:54Phil: But they have a dark secret to them, and they're also, monstrous and twisted with…
- 58:02Phil: machinery. So they're… they're a little bit cyborg, their… their blood is oil, they might have various enhancements. They're… they look human, but…
- 58:15Phil: with monstrous attachments, claws, fangs, you know, some might have wings eventually, but we haven't seen any like that yet. And it is crawling out of the ground.
- 58:28Phil: And we are actually going to cut from… from you, from Lee, for a second, and we are going to go to the party, who…
- 58:38Phil: Recently…
- 58:40Phil: So the events of last episode, they were in a building of the Parthenon that was gathering… holding a gathering of the pantheon of gods who…
- 58:50Phil: right before this floating building crashed into, a new planet of Dai, all of the gods were turned into giant monsters. Not quite kaiju, definitely more monster hunter-sized, and…
- 59:09Phil: They are, out there in the world somewhere, and so in the wreckage of… the…
- 59:17Phil: the building that crash-landed, we are actually starting with Amon.
- 59:24Phil: Who, last episode.
- 59:27Phil: ate a piece of black licorice to be possessed by the eldritch god, and as he chewed on it, rather than breaking apart and getting smaller in his mouth, it grew and expanded and consumed him from the inside. And now that it has separated itself, he is…
- 59:46Phil: Vomiting out whole strings of licorice.
- 59:50Phil: Pulling them out of your mouth, much like Superman in the latest Superman movie, if you saw that scene. And…
- 59:59Phil: You… so you are… you are purging, from this possession, and as you look up, you see, the…
- 1:00:09Phil: his weapon, his repair of trust and acceptance. It has presented itself to him as an adorable little dog that sort of guides him towards what he should trust and accept.
- 1:00:21Phil: This dog now, it has tentacles coming out of his back, and it has shifted from being of a light blue nature to a deep purple, and it looks at you deep in your eyes, and it says.
- 1:00:38Phil: You killed her because you wanted to.
- 1:00:40Phil: this was your true form. So last episode, while possessed by the Eldritch God, you are the one who killed Strife. She used the voice to try to get people to attack and kill Lex, but the Eldritch god was powerful enough to, exploit the ambiguity of kill her.
- 1:00:57Phil: And killed Strife instead. And so you plunged your whole arm.
- 1:01:02Phil: Through her torso, so your right arm is covered in gore and viscera. You are coughing up those pieces of black licorice, which you tell me whether they still taste good or not. And,
- 1:01:16Phil: And you are being confronted with these memories of…
- 1:01:23Phil: being possessed by this unknowable evil, which I now say that, you now get an advantage on anything evil that you might do. If there's something cruel, unusual, going completely against your nature up until this point, you get an advantage doing that. So, have fun.
- 1:01:42Phil: How do you feel?
- 1:01:46Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): I think it was some of that, like, Danish licorice, that really salty stuff.
- 1:01:52Phil: Fantastic.
- 1:01:55Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): Also, why does my… why does the dog look like a splacer Beast, and… oh, boy.
- 1:01:59Phil: Yep. It's… it is, not a hellhound, but an eldritch hound.
- 1:02:04Phil: And of course, before it only barked at him, but now it talks.
- 1:02:10Phil: So it has also gained a voice.
- 1:02:12Phil: And with that, I would also say, so… You're… you get a brief…
- 1:02:21Phil: Flashback, of that moment… that moment back in,
- 1:02:29Phil: Sorry, that was odd. You had the moment back in the library when you confronted a naked Garian. You remember that he was asking you to hand over
- 1:02:43Phil: the game of die. He was asking you to give it back to him. And we ended that scene not knowing how the game came back into Garian's possession. And you just remembered that, you gave it to him because he used the voice on you.
- 1:02:58Phil: He was possessed by Strife, and somehow was able to use the voice after the game.
- 1:03:05Phil: And with that, we now pan to Lex, who, at the… the dissolving corpse of, because that's the thing, is after Strife was killed.
- 1:03:16Phil: same after Garian was killed, she began dissolving into, like, little tiny squares of data, you know, looking like a little packet, sort of unfiltering. Tenny is now spinning up and saying, if you want to make an intelligence roll with your D10 and collect these little bits, these packets of personal information, you can save a copy of her consciousness into your mental database.
- 1:03:41Phil: Sure, why not? Yeah.
- 1:03:44Peter Eggleston Connor: No way in hell this could go wrong, right?
- 1:03:47Phil: Oh, this is, you know…
- 1:03:49Phil: pretty low.
- 1:03:50Peter Eggleston Connor: So, we have two 5s, a 4, and an 8, and a 2.
- 1:03:54Phil: Great success.
- 1:03:54Peter Eggleston Connor: successes.
- 1:03:55Phil: Of course, yeah, yeah, yeah. So, so you are, you are…
- 1:03:58Phil: it's wonderful, it's marvelous. You're able to save a copy in your head. So, to be 100% clear,
- 1:04:07Phil: Yeah, she… she does not have, like… so she's… she's… so there's a, an upgrade where your AI assistant takes on the personality of a real person. This is not that upgrade. She is not… she does not have access to Tenny's databases, she does not know everything about the world of DAI, she only knows what she knows.
- 1:04:26Phil: Gotcha. So yeah, I'm sure we'll find moments to interrogate her in a bit, but with that, we now pan to Alan and Rose.
- 1:04:38Phil: Who… Rose is also, recovering from having been possessed a little bit more gently by the god of light, who's… so each of our gods have, a… a, a sort of monster, or…
- 1:04:55Phil: classical mythical creature attached to them. The God of Fire is a, toasted marshmallow phoenix.
- 1:05:01Tad Eggleston: he tastes good.
- 1:05:03Phil: He does. Alan's had a few bites,
- 1:05:06Phil: The god of the seas is a giant flying whale that is made of taffy, various flavors of taffy, all different kinds. The god of war, who was possessing strife when she was killed.
- 1:05:22Phil: was, Red Hots, so, because they… their essence was expanded, it's… it's not quite as strong as pepper spray, but there's just, like, a slight tingling air of, like, cinnamon that is just… just, like, a 1 out of 10 stinging your eyes just a little bit.
- 1:05:41Tad Eggleston: Yuck. I don't… I don't like red hots.
- 1:05:44Phil: No, neither do I. You know, but… and so the, the, the god of light, their, their, attribute is, ice or snow.
- 1:05:57Phil: Because light passes through it, and I just thought it was really cool. And then, of course,
- 1:06:03Phil: The… it's… it's creature… it is a biblically accurate snow angel.
- 1:06:08Phil: So that was a fun detail. But now Rose, looks at you, Alan, and she says.
- 1:06:16Phil: You don't have to explain anything. I just had a God in my head. I know where we are.
- 1:06:21Phil: I don't know how to feel about it. How… how have… How have you been?
- 1:06:25Tad Eggleston: My wild Irish roam.
- 1:06:31Tad Eggleston: Wherever she goes, I'm making this up as I go.
- 1:06:37Tad Eggleston: Hi!
- 1:06:39Tad Eggleston: How's it going?
- 1:06:40Phil: She just comes in for a hug.
- 1:06:43Phil: And…
- 1:06:44Tad Eggleston: Look back and smile.
- 1:06:46Phil: Yeah, it's one of those things where… So, also last.
- 1:06:50Tad Eggleston: And then I say, where were you?
- 1:06:52Phil: Where were you?
- 1:06:53Tad Eggleston: I haven't seen you in a while.
- 1:06:54Phil: She said, I was by the pool when I saw you in the water reaching out to me.
- 1:07:02Phil: And that's… that's where she was when…
- 1:07:04Tad Eggleston: And you dove in, just for me?
- 1:07:07Tad Eggleston: Cool.
- 1:07:08Phil: I don't know whether I dove or was pulled, but yeah, here I am! Go figure, right?
- 1:07:13Tad Eggleston: Did I pull you? I didn't mean to pull you.
- 1:07:17Tad Eggleston: I know better.
- 1:07:18Phil: Wow, and this is where, unfortunately, he used the fool's ability, if all else fails, to ensure she was safe.
- 1:07:26Phil: And, well… Safe, I guess, is relative.
- 1:07:32Phil: But, she is here, she is…
- 1:07:37Phil: You know, she's concerned about you. Also with the group are a pair of, raucous lizardmen, Smink and Droke.
- 1:07:46Phil: Smink is a blue-tailed skink man who, you know, has a pair of daggers. Droke is a Silent Bob type who is, like, a giant, I think I said Frilled Lizard, yeah, who has, like, a… he can… he has, like, one of those,
- 1:08:04Phil: I don't know what they're called, but it's, like, where the throat swells up and he can spit things out. He does magic, he does party magic. He, you know, instead of throwing balls of water, people throws balls of wine, you know, as a good, fun time. But they're here, they are picking themselves up after having been possessed by gods of, the forest and the storm.
- 1:08:26Phil: And… yeah, and there's just the rubble of… this world, I guess…
- 1:08:36Phil: Since… since everyone here is together, as you're looking around at each other, what…
- 1:08:42Phil: What do you say? Who reaches out to whom?
- 1:08:47Peter Eggleston Connor: Quick question for our master.
- 1:08:52Phil: Yes.
- 1:08:52Peter Eggleston Connor: for Phil.
- 1:08:56Peter Eggleston Connor: I'm trying to remember, were we ever told how to leave the world to die? I feel like we might have been, but…
- 1:09:02Phil: I think there were instructions right when you arrive, so the way you leave is that everyone gathers together in a circle, holds hands, and says, the game is over.
- 1:09:12Phil: Or if they don't say the game is over, then the game continues. But yes, you had that information, you haven't made an attempt yet.
- 1:09:21Peter Eggleston Connor: So, if that's what you're considering, if you wanna, you know, I just was…
- 1:09:29Peter Eggleston Connor: I'm sure, like, I don't remember even that from the beginning, I mean, maybe… That's fair. That's exactly what happened, but…
- 1:09:39Peter Eggleston Connor: Oh, yeah.
- 1:09:40Phil: If… I was gonna say, if Lex is concerned about leaving and getting out of here, then, you know… oh, oh, and then the other thing you were told is that if you're dead, you don't get a vote.
- 1:09:52Phil: So, now that Garrion and Strife are dead, but the Master exists, I mean, you could…
- 1:09:57Phil: if you're thinking you could try to leave without the master, if you think that they're some sort of entity from the world itself, not necessarily one of you, I mean, if, you know, if you want to attempt a ritual, you never know what'll happen.
- 1:10:11Peter Eggleston Connor: Err?
- 1:10:13Peter Eggleston Connor: I mean, I guess I look at the other players, and right now, willem… Wilhelm is,
- 1:10:23Phil: Well, he's not there yet. He's not there yet. No, but he's still… no. You don't. This is… this is a weird… a weird meta bit of telling you all that, I mean, unless… unless you want this to be our last session,
- 1:10:35Phil: You're not going home.
- 1:10:37Peter Eggleston Connor: I didn't think we were going home, I just…
- 1:10:41Phil: As far as… as far as if your character knows how to get home or not?
- 1:10:45Peter Eggleston Connor: Yeah.
- 1:10:46Phil: Yeah, I mean, if you.
- 1:10:47Peter Eggleston Connor: I mean, like, I suspect that even with the five of us, we wouldn't be necessarily going home, but…
- 1:10:56Peter Eggleston Connor: Anyhow.
- 1:10:57Phil: Yeah.
- 1:10:58Peter Eggleston Connor: I'm just trying to make… remember where we all are at. I'm not sure if I've asked that question before. Right!
- 1:11:04Phil: I think it would be a fair thing that if.
- 1:11:05Peter Eggleston Connor: I do check.
- 1:11:06Peter Eggleston Connor: I do go off and check that, that… Last time, some… some, achievement popped up.
- 1:11:18Phil: Yes.
- 1:11:19Peter Eggleston Connor: Is there a place where I can check that without, you know… I mean, like, obviously that was an achievement, so it's like…
- 1:11:25Phil: it's in your heads-up display only, so that is where he unlocked an achievement that,
- 1:11:32Phil: y'all have been playing the game for, 4,248 hours or something like that. It was some… basically, the amount of hours for…
- 1:11:42Phil: the amount of time that we have been playing this game since January, in real life, is saying that, okay, the gang, despite for them, it only feels like it's been… I think, like, 2 days. We've only done, like, 2 days. You now have a notification saying that, hey, you've been playing for 6 months.
- 1:12:04Peter Eggleston Connor: Yeah. I, I start to dawn on that, and it probably has just ticked up a lot more, hasn't it?
- 1:12:13Phil: Yeah, it's probably ticked up by another month's worth. I mean, maybe not. We'll address that a little later on more, but yeah, but if you'd like to freak out about that, or interrogate Tenny, or,
- 1:12:27Phil: Or even…
- 1:12:28Peter Eggleston Connor: Sure. Yeah, pulling up… I'm gonna ask Tenny how it seems like it's only been 2 days in-game, and yet they're mentioning…
- 1:12:37Peter Eggleston Connor: Thousands of hours.
- 1:12:40Phil: Yeah, you left the… so this is actually really funny, because I think this idea came to me from playing a Digimon game, where my monsters gain experience.
- 1:12:50Phil: in a farm, but since the Switch doesn't technically turn off, the program's still running, so, like, I quickly hit a thousand hours of playtime, even though I clearly didn't play the game for a thousand hours, it's just because it was constantly running, getting experience for my guys, so it's a little bit… it's a little bit like that. And you ask, honey, this will be a good instance to do…
- 1:13:09Phil: an intelligence role to see…
- 1:13:14Phil: To see how, you know… because this, this is information, about how the world of Die works, so how… how is your playtime into thousands of hours after only 2 days?
- 1:13:28Peter Eggleston Connor: I have 3 successes. 1, 6, a 4, and 5.
- 1:13:32Phil: Sweet. So… this is where Kenny is playing back…
- 1:13:39Phil: So before they fought Strife, when Garian was dying, but not quite dead,
- 1:13:50Phil: when they first met her, Strife used her voice
- 1:13:53Phil: to, compel the group to become cannibals, to eat his flesh. And they did. And thankfully, the master then used a cheat token to rewind time
- 1:14:06Phil: So that they… they didn't do that, and they had a chance to actually fight her. However…
- 1:14:10Phil: the existence of that created a nexus of parallel realities where they became cannibals, because if you think about it, like, if every simple decision could
- 1:14:22Phil: you know, with consequence, like the idea that, oh, if I wore a green shirt or a purple shirt today, those might be different universes. It's like that, only…
- 1:14:30Phil: which cut did you go through… go to first? Did you want calf, or shoulder, or thigh? Those sorts of decisions. Who bit into what first? So…
- 1:14:43Phil: there are parallel realities of the game of die that you were not aware of, that you… you now are. That's basically it. So you've… you've… you've been living in a loop.
- 1:14:55Phil: That you are unaware of, the entirety.
- 1:14:58Peter Eggleston Connor: Oh, it's not even that I've been living in a loop, it's that literally there are… we are going through…
- 1:15:06Peter Eggleston Connor: X.
- 1:15:07Peter Eggleston Connor: Dimensions of dial at the same time.
- 1:15:11Phil: Kind of?
- 1:15:13Phil: It'll… it'll get cleared up In a bit…
- 1:15:19Peter Eggleston Connor: But…
- 1:15:21Phil: Or it won't. Or it'll get complicated. It'll get… it'll be addressed later on,
- 1:15:27Phil: In… in a very interesting way, I hope. But this… this might be…
- 1:15:33Phil: a time. So, so this is interesting.
- 1:15:37Phil: what just came to me is that Strife, the copy of her, you know, so if you're in, like, a room in your mind where Tenny is showing you a little clip show of, hey, you remember that time… that time y'all… y'all had human wings?
- 1:15:53Phil: Then, you know.
- 1:15:55Peter Eggleston Connor: I don't want to remember that time anyways.
- 1:15:57Phil: Exactly, so Strife is still muzzled, but laughing.
- 1:16:03Peter Eggleston Connor: Oh.
- 1:16:03Phil: Yeah, so she's, she's amused.
- 1:16:05Peter Eggleston Connor: Stripe is muzzled, but, it's good that she's muzzled.
- 1:16:08Phil: Right, right. Well, and thankfully, again, Is this…
- 1:16:12Phil: Since she is a data copy, she will not have the voice, and she will not take control of you unless, for some reason, you can't make it on that day, but even then, probably wouldn't.
- 1:16:23Peter Eggleston Connor: Unless somehow she also gets, you know, access to the D10 and starts hacking things.
- 1:16:28Phil: No, I think, I think that'll be… yeah. I mean, again, this isn't literally her, this is a copy of her. I mean, this is kind of an existential question. programming joke. Souls, much like strings, are immutable.
- 1:16:44Phil: Yeah, so… Yeah.
- 1:16:47Phil: You did it. You did plus equals.
- 1:16:49Peter Eggleston Connor: Yeah, I'll, I'll turn to my party and say, I… think we should consider going back Oh.
- 1:17:04Phil: What do you say, gang?
- 1:17:07Phil: Oh, well, well, Swing chimes in, and he's like, yeah, we haven't been back to the pad in a while. Home sounds good to me right now.
- 1:17:15Tad Eggleston: I, I have a quick…
- 1:17:18Tad Eggleston: question, just because I was looking at my character sheet, and I have… I put a cube in the middle of…
- 1:17:24Phil: Yeah. The 6, can you remind me what that is? Right, so that was for, on level 6. So here's another fun thing, is that once you hit the level of your special dice, like, for…
- 1:17:35Phil: Tad, it's the D6. For the Neos, it'll be… it'll be level 10. For, Chu, it'll be level 8. There is, like, a special class advancement. For the Fool, it's called the Lucky Break.
- 1:17:46Phil: Where he gets something… he gets something that he really wants. But he kind of does that every session anyway, because he's got the Fool's Prep, where he can just pull an item out of thin air. So instead, I gave him a special sigil. So now your 6 on the D6 is permanently…
- 1:18:01Phil: When you roll a 6 with your D6, you can either activate your… your… any special for your pool, or you can get a hint
- 1:18:09Phil: Or a clue as to where a magical item in the world is that you saw, while tripping balls from having licked a psychedelic toad.
- 1:18:19Tad Eggleston: Okay, so it's either… it's my choice of a plus or a hint.
- 1:18:27Tad Eggleston: Is that right?
- 1:18:28Phil: Yes, yes, so if… if you… so if… and it's, again, it's… so it's a little weird, it's only for your fool die. If your fool die rolls a 6, you can either do.
- 1:18:35Tad Eggleston: Right, right, right, right.
- 1:18:36Phil: Yeah, yeah, you can get that in.
- 1:18:37Phil: But yeah.
- 1:18:39Phil: And that symbol is a little cube.
- 1:18:41Tad Eggleston: Yeah, yeah. I just wanted to make certain I…
- 1:18:45Tad Eggleston: I understood, because I'm going to write a note to myself, rather than just having the cube.
- 1:18:49Phil: Sweet. I… I… I'd be happy to… to run that down, because that's actually… that's a,
- 1:18:55Phil: a little quirk I got from Gillen himself, he said that, yeah, he likes to give the fools special symbols to draw on the dice, instead of just circles and crosses.
- 1:19:05Phil: But yeah, so you and Rose, she says, yeah, if we could get back home, that would be great. Do y'all want to try the ritual? So she knows about it, she knows what it is.
- 1:19:15Tad Eggleston: So, what, what I… what I do…
- 1:19:20Tad Eggleston: is, I'm gonna add a cross to my die, on… the 5…
- 1:19:28Phil: Hmm.
- 1:19:29Tad Eggleston: To… to materialize a… A…
- 1:19:39Tad Eggleston: Intricately made of leather, but somehow smelling like an actual rose, but… but…
- 1:19:47Tad Eggleston: You know, not one that would ever…
- 1:19:52Tad Eggleston: wilt or anything. Rose. And I hand it to Rose, and I say.
- 1:19:58Tad Eggleston: But this place is so interesting. There's so much to learn here. I haven't had this much fun in forever. Come with me!
- 1:20:10Phil: Awesome. I like that. I also love the leather rose for rows, as… as… okay, so that's one. You don't… you don't want to go. Eamon, how do you feel?
- 1:20:26Tad Eggleston: Though I should.
- 1:20:27Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): This entire…
- 1:20:28Tad Eggleston: now.
- 1:20:29Tad Eggleston: really quickly, and this is, like, not stated yet, this is more for the… if I don't change Rose's mind, I'm siding with Rose.
- 1:20:38Phil: Mmm.
- 1:20:40Phil: Okay.
- 1:20:41Phil: Interesting, interesting. let's still… let's see, let's see what Eamon says real quick, before Rose goes in.
- 1:20:49Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): Well, during all of this, You know, while people are talking, he's some kind of…
- 1:20:54Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): Looking at his hand, that apparently has… stuff, aren't like.
- 1:20:59Phil: Gore and viscera?
- 1:21:01Phil: And it's, it's so spicy. It's like, it's like… it's like a concentration of red hot and… and blood.
- 1:21:07Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): Now, does it have the consistency of blood, or does it have the consistency of, like.
- 1:21:13Phil: Oh, it's sticky. It's very… it's the stickiest substance. It's actually, as sticky as… blood is very sticky.
- 1:21:19Phil: Oh, yeah.
- 1:21:20Phil: Yeah, I didn't think that, because… but then there was one kid that I worked with who cut himself, and a huge, like, glop fell on the floor, weirdly, and it stayed there for, like, weeks. It was so weird. Yeah.
- 1:21:35Phil: Just to vocalize my experience with other people's blood on air real quick, you know?
- 1:21:40Peter Eggleston Connor: Yeah.
- 1:21:43Phil: Clarify that.
- 1:21:43Peter Eggleston Connor: Thanks for that.
- 1:21:44Phil: You're welcome.
- 1:21:48Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): At this point, After constantly, like, oh, jeez, I am.
- 1:21:57Phil: Shu is literally wiping his arm on his pants, which is great.
- 1:22:03Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): He's got, like, he would honestly not be really paying attention, because right now it's, like.
- 1:22:10Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): At this point, he'd probably… he just mumbles out.
- 1:22:15Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): Okay… I don't think it's actually drugs.
- 1:22:19Phil: So, so real quick here, choose, or not choose, not yours, Eamon's, substance use history. Does he drink, casual drink, anything like that? Is he a teetotaler? What's going on?
- 1:22:33Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): I'll just model it after myself, like, I was the person who they could… who, in college, you would call at 2 in the morning, because they'd be people… because people would be like, who is awake and sober?
- 1:22:43Phil: Hmm.
- 1:22:45Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): and… I always answered, because I got 3 Hardee's out of it.
- 1:22:49Phil: Okay.
- 1:22:50Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): Oh, okay.
- 1:22:52Phil: So he's not…
- 1:22:54Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): And as far as, like, not a teetotaler, because it's more just because, and I'll just base it off of this.
- 1:22:59Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): Has the Asian liver.
- 1:23:03Phil: Okay. Asian Flush Syndrome.
- 1:23:05Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): That does.
- 1:23:06Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): Because I hadn't developed the patch for it yet.
- 1:23:09Phil: Okay.
- 1:23:10Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): At this point in time.
- 1:23:11Phil: What is the patch?
- 1:23:12Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): Oh, it's supposed to… Counteract the allergic reaction to alcohol.
- 1:23:17Phil: Oh! I, I thought, I thought it… you…
- 1:23:19Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): something else, I didn't realize it was a literal patch, but thank you. Yeah, there's a… they make a literal patch now, which my friends…
- 1:23:25Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): One of my friends… bought me so we could try a bottle of wine sometime, because… So…
- 1:23:33Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): Literally, that's the only reason for… really not drinking.
- 1:23:38Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): And then I'll just… I'll also throw this one out there, just because I think it's funny. He's allergic to weed as well.
- 1:23:44Phil: Good to know. So that's where I would say… that is definitely funny.
- 1:23:48Phil: I would say that, I don't know if he's ever been hungover before, but he most certainly is now.
- 1:23:54Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): Yeah, I'm just like… At this point, he'd probably just go with…
- 1:24:01Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): He's only half paying attention. He's probably just gonna follow wherever, kind of revert back to just kind of…
- 1:24:08Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): Following wherever the group goes, and every once in a while, I was…
- 1:24:11Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): If they see, like, a surface, just kind of, like, rubbing their arm, like, This stuff is just…
- 1:24:17Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): Unless, unless I see a… if I see… happen to see, like, there's some, like, water or something, I'll be like, oh my goodness.
- 1:24:23Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): Yeah. Jeez.
- 1:24:25Phil: unfortunately, nothing around right now, but for next session, I will… I will, I will find a place for you to clean.
- 1:24:33Phil: so… oh gosh, so that's now back to me, where you're, like, just kind of going with the group, and Lex says, okay, let's,
- 1:24:45Phil: You know, okay, let's go home.
- 1:24:47Phil: Alan says, hey, stay with this, with this leather rose. Let's cut back to Lee in the room. The fallen has arisen. It's time to fight.
- 1:24:56Phil: Or, you know, what do you do? Because you have 3 dexterity and it only has 2, so you can act first. It is… this is… this is clearly a feral monster. This is the kind of thing that… that I would imagine someone with firearms experience would just know to shoot at instinctively.
- 1:25:12Larry Woods: Yeah, he definitely thinks that this ain't right. We need to… we need to put this dog away.
- 1:25:21Phil: Alright, so what you're gonna do is you… your Cool 45 is a normal Colt 45 at this point. It, so you're just going to roll, 3D6, for your 3 points in dexterity, no D10. So that's the thing, is once you activate it with some, I was gonna say Fool's Gold, but fairs… fair gold.
- 1:25:40Phil: Then you get your D10 added to the dice pool.
- 1:25:42Phil: So go ahead and give me a roll of 3D6?
- 1:25:49Larry Woods: I rolled a 2, a 3, and a 6.
- 1:25:52Phil: Awesome! So, that is a bullet, sinks cleanly into the, the fallen's shoulder. It is wounded, but it is not down.
- 1:26:07Phil: And it is now going to, come at you a little bit, and charge, and fairly,
- 1:26:16Phil: Barely go for you.
- 1:26:19Phil: And it rolls a 3, a 3, and a 5, so it deals 1 hit to your guard, and is now, like, is moved up to you. It is, like.
- 1:26:30Phil: attempting to kind of, like, claw and bite at you, but you're able to… to kind of fend it off, with… with your close range. And, so yeah, so if you wanted to try to, hit it with, the butt, or… or… it's basically, it's… well.
- 1:26:48Phil: I would say that you can shoot your gun, but you're at a slight disadvantage since you're wrestling with it, so it'd be… it'd be two dice.
- 1:26:56Phil: If you want to try and get, like, a close-range headshot.
- 1:26:58Larry Woods: We're now in Melee, right?
- 1:27:00Phil: Yeah, it's pretty manly. There's not too much of a distinction, so I was… I was basically just saying, I mean, if… however you want… I don't know if you want to try to do a maneuver of some sort, with, you know, I mean, you're… you're kind of backed up against the table a little bit as it's pressing towards you,
- 1:27:16Larry Woods: Huh.
- 1:27:17Phil: Yeah.
- 1:27:20Phil: Quick question, do I have my daggers on me yet? Yes, yes, of course. You have all your equipment, so you have daggers if you wanna… I guess, yeah, a dagger, you would use dexterity for close combat, so yeah, so you could still roll 3 with that.
- 1:27:31Larry Woods: Absolutely, I would like to sort of either stab it in where I think this sort of brain area is, or somewhat try to decapitate it.
- 1:27:39Phil: There we go.
- 1:27:43Larry Woods: Okay.
- 1:27:45Larry Woods: That's a 3, a 6, and a 6.
- 1:27:48Phil: There you go, boom! So, you shove that dagger clean up into, you know, the bottom of its jaw, you know, what little light there was goes out in its eyes, and it coughs up
- 1:28:02Phil: A tiny golden cube as it slumps down and dies, and you have…
- 1:28:09Phil: instinctually, just… it is like… it is the harshest, fiendiest craving for this little dice. Whatever fidgety compulsion you have is on overdrive for playing with this thing.
- 1:28:25Phil: And this is the… this is a piece of fair gold, so this would activate your, your… you have, you know, a base AI companion, your heads-up display, your… your gun gift. So how… how would you consume it?
- 1:28:38Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): Because you're probably going to want to, because a few more fallen are starting to emerge from the ground around you as well.
- 1:28:44Larry Woods: Yeah, I think that sort of,
- 1:28:48Larry Woods: I gotta imagine, this idea of…
- 1:28:52Larry Woods: he sees it, like, and obviously, like, he goes and grabs it, like, never felt this feeling before, ever. And he has that weird sort of compulsion, I don't know about y'all, but when I was growing up, I would, like, put coins in my mouth, just, like.
- 1:29:05Phil: That's true.
- 1:29:06Larry Woods: certain things.
- 1:29:06Phil: Yeah.
- 1:29:07Larry Woods: So I think he feels the need to sort of put that in his mouth.
- 1:29:12Phil: Does he tuck it in his lip?
- 1:29:15Larry Woods: Yeah, almost like a…
- 1:29:16Phil: Wow.
- 1:29:16Larry Woods: Kind of tucks it into his, like, cheek, almost like a dip, I guess?
- 1:29:21Phil: to gum it a little bit. Interesting, interesting. So you, you're now, you're now, sucking on that dye, and its juices are flowing into you, and your systems are coming online, they're powering up. You have a, a sort of base AI interface.
- 1:29:37Phil: For, Peter, it's like a heads-up display. It's gonna be sort of, like, just alert notifications, unless you pick the AI companion, and then you'll probably have, like.
- 1:29:46Phil: a Western… a little assistant, little spur, something like that.
- 1:29:54Peter Eggleston Connor: nerve.
- 1:29:55Phil: What's that?
- 1:29:56Peter Eggleston Connor: Tenor!
- 1:29:57Phil: Kenner! Ho-ho!
- 1:29:59Phil: Oh, there we go!
- 1:30:01Phil: Tenor and 10E? This is perfect. This is…
- 1:30:03Larry Woods: Pretty great.
- 1:30:04Phil: Oh, perfect, okay. But with the more fallen around you starting to emerge from the ground, we are now going to cut back to the group really quick. As before, Rose can give an answer, I don't remember how Lex got out of the Forge God.
- 1:30:23Phil: last episode. But,
- 1:30:27Phil: the… apparently, the husk of it, is… was amidst the rubble. While all the other god monsters had run off, it remained. And so, this… this beast lurches up from under the rubble and goes… and, it… it squills out,
- 1:30:47Phil: some manner of, you cannot stifle me. I…
- 1:30:53Phil: this, you know, reclaiming its godhood, reclaiming its mantle. We are… we are doing an immediate retcon. I said that Peter could,
- 1:31:05Phil: was… was a possible seedling of… of a god, but I worried that I offended the forged God, because after our session, driving that evening, I got a flat tire, and
- 1:31:17Phil: induced an aggressive slew of bugs at my day job, so I took that as, oh, my apologies, Monsieur God of the Forge, let's adjust this a little bit. And so now you're gonna fight it.
- 1:31:31Phil: This is a hulking automaton, a creature of years, and it is towering a good 10… yeah, it's giant. It is… it is truly a colossus.
- 1:31:47Phil: That is, is…
- 1:31:49Phil: charging up around all of you. It doesn't… it's not very fast, so if you wanted to attempt to attack it first, who… who is feeling? I think it would be either Lex or Eamon.
- 1:32:03Phil: Because I think they both have 4 dexterity, so which of them would want to add first at this…
- 1:32:08Phil: At this colossal beast.
- 1:32:17Peter Eggleston Connor: Is anything else, like, rising around it, or is it just it?
- 1:32:20Phil: It's just it. There's… there's rubble all around it, so, you know, there's kind of like your… your typical… it's like a… it's like a little bit uneasy terrain, because of all the different rocks, so it might be a little challenging to… to do something. We'll figure that out. But no, it's… it's alone, it's a… it's a giant, it's worrying, it's… it's…
- 1:32:41Phil: Gearing… okay, so here's the thing.
- 1:32:43Phil: So, initially I'd said that the God of the Forge was a variety of,
- 1:32:50Phil: molecular gastronomy, but once
- 1:32:54Phil: Tad pointed out, I hadn't designated a god of chocolate yet. I decided, actually, yes, the forge god is the god of chocolate, because chocolate is so versatile, it can be forged into a bunch of different flavors, different techniques, so the chocolatier, the chocolatier god.
- 1:33:13Phil: Right here. It's… so it's, it's, like, clearly a damaged, giant automaton that is, instead of, you know.
- 1:33:21Phil: bits of oil coming off, there's… there's chocolate running through the gears that, you know, like a… there's, like, kind of an open chocolate fountain at its ribcage that's kind of spurtering and sputtering, everything around, but it is the only, the only…
- 1:33:36Phil: Enemy to fight.
- 1:33:37Peter Eggleston Connor: I… call… I mean, if… if I can go first, I call up Tenny and say…
- 1:33:45Peter Eggleston Connor: I… need a fair gold.
- 1:33:48Phil: Oh, do you need a fair gold. Oh, right, because you, you have, the… the… the one, one free per day, that was your, your one. I don't know what we decided on, but,
- 1:34:01Peter Eggleston Connor: Well, I have the free per day, and I also… Tenny is my, dealer.
- 1:34:07Phil: Right, for the… well, the… for the memory… so, again, the memory merchant, you…
- 1:34:12Peter Eggleston Connor: Good for the memory merchant.
- 1:34:14Phil: Yes, you could power up, but you couldn't overcharge. You were at full charge, I believe, so your one free per day would get you one for an overcharge.
- 1:34:23Peter Eggleston Connor: Yeah, I wanna… I could power up, but I can't overcharge with that.
- 1:34:28Phil: the memory stuff, for now. Well, we'll probably… we'll find a way to overcharge. We'll find a way to overcharge.
- 1:34:33Peter Eggleston Connor: What I wanted to do was gain access to…
- 1:34:37Peter Eggleston Connor: and I think it probably means, you know, figure out what you want. I think it's gonna…
- 1:34:47Peter Eggleston Connor: I… I want to get access to,
- 1:34:52Peter Eggleston Connor: Shoot, I just had it in front of me. One second.
- 1:34:56Peter Eggleston Connor: hacking protocol interface. If you manage the interface with a system, you're immune to any feedback on a failure. Oh.
- 1:35:06Phil: Perfect.
- 1:35:06Peter Eggleston Connor: Mostly, I just want to hack into this thing and see if I can, you know… I mean…
- 1:35:13Phil: If you want to… if you want to use your free for the day to get an overcharge on that roll, if you want to turn it into an overcharge situation, you can do that. If you want to do a regular hack, we can do that too.
- 1:35:25Phil: Both, both will be good.
- 1:35:27Peter Eggleston Connor: Let's overcharge it.
- 1:35:28Phil: overcharge it, so okay. So, let's see here the overcharge. To overcharge a gift, describe your desired effect, you're… Yeah, you're probably… you're gonna do… you're gonna go harder with this roll, and no negative feedback.
- 1:35:43Phil: So, the cost, yep, your one fair gold, that seems pretty fair. Then, for the overcharge, roll just your D10. If the result is odd, it works perfectly. If it's even, it mostly works, but something goes amiss.
- 1:35:55Peter Eggleston Connor: Let's find out.
- 1:35:58Peter Eggleston Connor: It is even.
- 1:36:00Phil: Okay, so something's gonna go amiss. That's fine.
- 1:36:03Phil: That is okay, but go ahead and do a full roll, so your 4 plus your D10, to see where I can…
- 1:36:10Phil: Steer that.
- 1:36:15Peter Eggleston Connor: So we got a natural 10 on the D10, and then a 6 on one of the D6s, and everything else is below 4, so…
- 1:36:23Phil: Shit. Okay, so… Let's see here, something's gonna go amiss. So, like… You… Okay, so…
- 1:36:37Phil: Non-physical feedback, okay. So yeah, so you're…
- 1:36:41Peter Eggleston Connor: So, it's a lot of… I mean, like, something you could do, and this is just throwing something out there, is, you know, I'm hacking it, but, and I successfully hack it, but before I'm able to hack it, I sort of…
- 1:36:55Peter Eggleston Connor: Accidentally stumble across a,
- 1:36:59Peter Eggleston Connor: what you might call, like, a tripwire or alarm, and in doing so, it, like… I mean, something happened, like, maybe it…
- 1:37:08Peter Eggleston Connor: Creates a whole bunch of minions, or…
- 1:37:11Phil: Mmm.
- 1:37:12Peter Eggleston Connor: Something else that might be… Intensifies the situation.
- 1:37:19Phil: Okay, alright, I do like that. so, with that, we are…
- 1:37:29Phil: Oh… why… okay. I don't know why this is always my move, but I'm gonna do it this time, too. I always… I always get compelled to tip my hand early, so with the hacking protocol, you, the, you've tripped something to where it's,
- 1:37:47Phil: Its chest cavity is turning translucent, and so the room that, Willie found himself in is inside the automaton.
- 1:37:59Phil: This isn't really a disadvantage, this is kind of an advantage.
- 1:38:02Phil: But, he, he's, he's inside it, so you can see another figure, fighting at several fallen who have emerged inside there, so…
- 1:38:11Phil: Lee, if you would like to… you are now powered up, your, Colt 45 is buzzin', would you like to unleash a dexterity roll with your D10 to see how powerful of a shot you can do against these… these enemies that are…
- 1:38:29Larry Woods: Oh, absolutely. A question never to ask.
- 1:38:33Larry Woods: So, what I'm gonna do is,
- 1:38:36Larry Woods: Obviously, I'll leave it to you as the master, is, I…
- 1:38:39Larry Woods: have my D10 in my other bag, or my percentile die in another bag, so I can either roll a digital D10, or you can roll it for me, however you prefer.
- 1:38:49Phil: Oh, if… I can… I can go ahead and roll your dice for you, or you can roll it digitally, either way. Oh, you said you have a D10 in the back? Okay, so I'll… I'll roll your D10, but you've got your D6s?
- 1:38:59Larry Woods: I do.
- 1:39:00Phil: Okay, cool, so you roll your 3 there, I'll roll this here.
- 1:39:04Phil: That was a 3, unfortunately.
- 1:39:07Larry Woods: Okay. I rolled a 2, a 5, and a 5.
- 1:39:10Phil: Okay, so that's two fives. So… you blow one completely away. there's… there is a comically sized hole through the middle of it, and it collapses in on itself. And there… with that, another piece of fair gold, falls down for you,
- 1:39:28Phil: And… I mean, you'll have to grab it on your next turn there, but… .
- 1:39:33Larry Woods: So, can I ask you then, when I see this Fair Gold, sort of.
- 1:39:37Larry Woods: come up, is the compulsion so real, it's like, I have to have that first before the threat of danger, or…
- 1:39:44Phil: Right. Well, you don't have to. You'll feel it strong. It's the kind of thing where basically, like, you won't be able to ignore it once the fight's over. If you want to go for it, like, do a dive and then overcharge, you'll probably need to make a dexterity roll, see if you get it.
- 1:39:57Phil: Okay. Those sorts of things. We are… okay, so I've also now decided that the… the feedback is that,
- 1:40:07Phil: the…
- 1:40:08Phil: So the automaton was sort of paralyzed, but now it is spewing up more chocolate than ever, so there's kind of, like, a hazardous area around it that's gonna, you know, there's now a bunch of slippery chocolate on the rocks, around.
- 1:40:23Peter Eggleston Connor: Beaming hot, slippery chocolate.
- 1:40:25Phil: Yes!
- 1:40:26Phil: What is that a reference to?
- 1:40:28Peter Eggleston Connor: I don't know. I was just saying, like, it could be, like, kinda like, if it's steaming hot, then it's, you know…
- 1:40:34Phil: Oh, yeah.
- 1:40:34Peter Eggleston Connor: potentially harmful and more just than just slipping you.
- 1:40:39Phil: It's… there's… there's a heat component to the environmental hazards going on.
- 1:40:45Phil: Next up, I believe Eamon is still faster than… yeah, it's def… he's definitely faster than the automaton, and as far as I remember, he's faster than Alan, so… what do you feel like doing?
- 1:40:58Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): Saw a ton, a ton. He said there's gears.
- 1:41:04Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): Does there seem to be any kind of main gear on it?
- 1:41:07Phil: There's kind of… there's one protruding from the sternum that you could tell is kind of the main one. It's currently, like, kind of locked up and spasming and spewing chocolate due to, the hacking of, of Lex.
- 1:41:22Phil: But this, this is the same entity that, two sessions ago, you were able to throw your peer and, pierce it in the eye.
- 1:41:29Phil: to stop it from… from creating more minions.
- 1:41:33Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): Well, it worked one time.
- 1:41:36Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): Alright.
- 1:41:40Phil: That's 4 plus your 8, I believe?
- 1:41:48Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): Okay, that's… Two sixes, a 4, and a 3.
- 1:41:53Phil: Okay, so… so that's 3 hits, that's 1 defense, so it takes 2… damage.
- 1:42:01Phil: And you've thrown…
- 1:42:03Phil: it's, it's, it is, since this is a feeling like a comical episode, it is comical how it goes right back in the same place in its eye, and it goes, oh, not again, dammit! And, and, and sort of screams out, Tad Rose is, startled but safe.
- 1:42:20Phil: Do you feel like joining in this melee? Or.
- 1:42:25Tad Eggleston: Okay, describe the autonoponton again.
- 1:42:28Phil: So the automaton is, like, a giant, like, a good 15 feet tall. It is a, like, clockwork creature that has chocolate blood that is kind of spewing out all around it. It's currently paralyzed, stabbed in the eye.
- 1:42:44Phil: It was hacked by Lex, so it is stuck in place and spewing out chocolate all around it, so it'd be a bit difficult to approach.
- 1:42:53Phil: This is where I remind you, you do have your Thunderbolt Guitar Blast.
- 1:42:57Phil: from a range, that would be a safe way to, to get a good hit on it.
- 1:43:04Phil: And then, I don't remember if Lee was standing up in a way, but we revealed that…
- 1:43:08Tad Eggleston: Does it have arms and legs?
- 1:43:11Phil: Yes, so it's humanoid-shaped. It's humanoid-shap.
- 1:43:13Tad Eggleston: It's humanoid-shaped, long arm, short, short arms.
- 1:43:17Phil: They're… they're not too long. They're… they're pretty proportional, I'd say.
- 1:43:23Tad Eggleston: Are your legs straight right now, or is there any sort of bent knee?
- 1:43:27Phil: No, they're kind of… they're kind of bent and paralyzed, you know, kind of like having a standing, mechanical seizure of some sort. Yeah.
- 1:43:36Tad Eggleston: Okay. And you said it's bleeding, how is the… the… the chocolate pooled?
- 1:43:42Phil: It is kind of splashing and coating the rocks around it now, and is staying hot and molten, and slippery. So it's… it's standing amongst rubble, and then that rubble is covering in hot, slippery chocolate, as… as Peter so thankfully defined.
- 1:44:00Phil: So… so that's kind of what's going on with right now.
- 1:44:04Tad Eggleston: So, are we gonna decide that it mostly looks like this?
- 1:44:09Tad Eggleston: Since P…
- 1:44:09Phil: Oh, I'm not… let me see here, let me… let me look at…
- 1:44:14Peter Eggleston Connor: I don't know, I just threw that up.
- 1:44:18Phil: I do like that!
- 1:44:19Peter Eggleston Connor: Actually, I think I found, like…
- 1:44:23Phil: That's perfect because it has, like, a perfectly square box for a chest, and… and Lee is inside its chest in a room fighting the fallen.
- 1:44:32Phil: That you… is now visible.
- 1:44:33Tad Eggleston: And do I… do I know he's inside the… the… the room? Yes.
- 1:44:38Phil: Turned, it turned.
- 1:44:39Peter Eggleston Connor: as an alternative. Apparently, somebody.
- 1:44:41Tad Eggleston: I got that Wisp robot real sexy like you asked, boss.
- 1:44:47Tad Eggleston: If it was decapitated, would that open up an entrance to the room?
- 1:44:53Phil: That'd be a simple way to do it, yeah. Okay.
- 1:44:56Tad Eggleston: So…
- 1:44:57Phil: I think there'll probably be a door on there or some way.
- 1:44:59Tad Eggleston: I am going to run around the edge of the pooled molten chocolate and parkour over rocks, and
- 1:45:09Tad Eggleston: and, like, using the bent knee, or the arms, or whatnot to try to get to a position where I can fly through the air and use the Carlyle sword to… to decapitate the robot so that we can… we can help Wilhelm.
- 1:45:27Phil: So, you…
- 1:45:29Phil: will have… so you got your… your 3 dexterity, and then your full die, but I think there would be a disadvantage for parkouring over chocolate.
- 1:45:41Tad Eggleston: Okay.
- 1:45:42Phil: So…
- 1:45:44Phil: So there we go. Unless there was something from… an instance from your past in which you… you succeeded or trained for slippery parkour.
- 1:45:53Tad Eggleston: I mean, once again, I'm a trillionaire, and I get bored easily.
- 1:45:59Tad Eggleston: I mean, I have a parkour room. I just feel like anytime you do this, he's gonna… No, no, no, I'm saying that I have a parkour room. I don't know that I've ever thought to make it slippery.
- 1:46:11Phil: And that's the key, that's the key. This is what enables the parkour, but still doesn't overcome the disadvantage, because you did not think of chocolate parkour.
- 1:46:20Tad Eggleston: Right, however…
- 1:46:24Peter Eggleston Connor: Nobody parked cars in the RAND.
- 1:46:26Tad Eggleston: I, I, I do, I do have a, a, a 6-6,
- 1:46:34Tad Eggleston: but then a 1 on the full die. The 1 on the fool die, I need to point out, also has a cross on it.
- 1:46:46Tad Eggleston: on.
- 1:46:46Phil: Perfect.
- 1:46:47Tad Eggleston: So, so, .
- 1:46:51Phil: You know what's gonna happen there? That is enough for me to say that…
- 1:46:55Phil: While parkouring, you slipped, went into an aggressive corkscrew with the sword, and so… you crashed directly into this creature's chest.
- 1:47:08Phil: So you are now Winnie the Pooh stuck out of his chest, your back legs dangling, your front half has burst through, so Lee, you see.
- 1:47:18Tad Eggleston: Do I still have the sword, though?
- 1:47:20Phil: You saw the sword. The sword is fine. The sword's good. You see this sword-wielding, I believe we said you had, like, black leather, there's a guitar on your back.
- 1:47:30Tad Eggleston: Yeah, I was about to say, which… which side, or is it split between, is… is the guitar?
- 1:47:38Phil: I'm gonna say you're, you're just, like, Your guitar is intact somehow.
- 1:47:43Phil: some true…
- 1:47:45Tad Eggleston: But… but is the guitar intact and usable to me? Is the guitar intact?
- 1:47:51Phil: So it's still, it's still strapped completely on the outside, or… It's strapped to your back.
- 1:47:55Tad Eggleston: It's strapped to my back in half and half.
- 1:47:58Phil: yeah, you can't wedge it out. You are… you are a torso poking through the room, you've got your sword, so… so you can slash at anything you can reach, but I don't think you could get your guitar out.
- 1:48:08Tad Eggleston: I would have to do something to be able to get the guitar out. Gotcha.
- 1:48:11Phil: weird, yeah, something would have to happen. I think if you wanted to, like, use it for your electric blast, you, you'd probably get hurt with some feedback, potentially. But yeah, you, you are, you are fully poo-bared into this chocolatier robot, and
- 1:48:27Phil: Banffed in… half-banfed into the room. So yeah, so that's happening.
- 1:48:35Phil: Smink and Droke here are… gosh, so what's… this automaton, okay, so it's double-locked.
- 1:48:41Tad Eggleston: Oh, I have… I now have a quick question.
- 1:48:44Phil: Of course.
- 1:48:44Tad Eggleston: since when I erase all… crosses…
- 1:48:58Tad Eggleston: Oh, I just erase all crosses, so it doesn't really matter. What I was trying to figure out is…
- 1:49:04Phil: Whether you get another circle?
- 1:49:06Tad Eggleston: This… no, well, no, this will be the circle question. When I… when I… When you roll a circle.
- 1:49:13Tad Eggleston: You erase all but one circle and add a cross to a different face. Now, since I have the cube in 6, when I erase all but one circle, is that the one that counts as a circle, or will I have a circle plus that cube?
- 1:49:30Phil: Circle Plus Cube.
- 1:49:32Tad Eggleston: Okay.
- 1:49:33Phil: So that, so that 6 is permanently…
- 1:49:36Phil: That good ol' cube there for you.
- 1:49:40Tad Eggleston: Well, okay. So…
- 1:49:42Tad Eggleston: So, I am now down to a circle on 4, my cube on 6, and no crosses. Sweet!
- 1:49:51Tad Eggleston: And I am Winnie the Poohed into… which side of the.
- 1:49:55Phil: So you were going head first, your head is pointing towards Lee, you are pointing into the room.
- 1:49:59Tad Eggleston: No, no, no, I meant I… am… am I… am I on the…
- 1:50:04Phil: You're directly in the face of its square chest, so it could look down and see…
- 1:50:08Tad Eggleston: Okay.
- 1:50:09Phil: jangling there.
- 1:50:10Tad Eggleston: Okay, so I'm on the front of the chest.
- 1:50:15Tad Eggleston: going in.
- 1:50:16Tad Eggleston: Gotcha.
- 1:50:17Tad Eggleston: Alright.
- 1:50:18Phil: And so the… the automaton… the automaton is now struggling to talk. It is… it has been pretty thoroughly assaulted,
- 1:50:27Phil: I mean, it's… no, it's still kicking, it's got a couple hits left, but it finds itself unable to do anything. Let's… let's pan to Lee here. So now that,
- 1:50:38Phil: you've had this… this stranger bust in on your party, and you just… you just blasted somebody. The fallen… the two fallen left are going to…
- 1:50:48Phil: split. Basically, one's gonna go… for Alan, I'm gonna do that role now.
- 1:50:54Phil: And… Unfortunately, it is,
- 1:50:58Phil: You know what? I'm gonna be mean. I'm gonna give it an advantage, because you're immobile. No more hits. Okay, so you take two hits, Alan, to your guard, as this thing, you are, you know, now having to deflect claws, and it has whittled that away a little bit, because it rolled, two fours and a 6.
- 1:51:17Phil: So that's 2 hits on you. And now the other one is going to jump at lead.
- 1:51:25Phil: And that is also rolled very well. That is going to be, 3 hits, so I'm… because I think you took 1 before, so I think that's probably fully depleted your guard?
- 1:51:35Larry Woods: Yep.
- 1:51:35Phil: Yeah, so it, it is, it is, you know…
- 1:51:38Phil: clawing at you, you are now covering in minor nicks, scrapes. It, it is, it is, you know, you're gonna, you're gonna have to blow it away in this, in this shot, to not take… take some damage.
- 1:51:53Larry Woods: Mago? Okay.
- 1:51:54Phil: Yeah, yeah, so you're… so you're up now, you're good to… we'll do the same thing before, the two-sided…
- 1:52:00Phil: I'll roll the D10 for you, unless you grabbed it. Okay.
- 1:52:04Larry Woods: And as he goes to shoot, I will say, like, he looks over at the hole in the wall with this guy being Winnie the food, and is like, well, who the fuck are you?
- 1:52:16Larry Woods: That is not good. Two twos and a one.
- 1:52:19Phil: Thankfully, you rolled a 10 on your D6.
- 1:52:23Peter Eggleston Connor: Be generous, I'm gonna…
- 1:52:25Phil: Yeah, you rolled a 10 on the D6 somehow, that's some…
- 1:52:28Larry Woods: It's a magical world.
- 1:52:29Phil: Yeah.
- 1:52:30Phil: You know, but yeah, so I'm just gonna say that's… that's big enough to where, you get a lucky shot, a lucky headshot, and, that fallen, collapses as well, so now there's just a one left.
- 1:52:43Phil: let's go back to the top of the order and say, hey, Lex, what do you… what are you thinking of? What do you feel like? Where do we go from here?
- 1:52:54Peter Eggleston Connor: My main thing is trying to calm this thing down, like…
- 1:52:57Phil: Hmm.
- 1:52:57Peter Eggleston Connor: Out of attack mode.
- 1:53:00Phil: Okay.
- 1:53:00Peter Eggleston Connor: With the hacking that I've started, so I won't imagine it's intelligence anymore, but, I would imagine charisma, and maybe I still get the G10, that's up to you.
- 1:53:12Phil: Yeah, I'm gonna say… I'm gonna say if you want to do Charisma with the D10, that actually does sound kind of fair, because now you're getting Tenny to… to interface with it, and… and say, hey, what's going on? Could we… could we not right now?
- 1:53:30Peter Eggleston Connor: I re-roll.com.
- 1:53:32Phil: Okay.
- 1:53:34Phil: It fell on the floor. Yeah, that taints.
- 1:53:37Peter Eggleston Connor: I got two 2's and a 5.
- 1:53:38Phil: Two twos and a 5, okay, so that's at least a success, and you're saying…
- 1:53:44Phil: something like, hey, hey, you know, Daddy Chill, you know, we're… we're, you know, what would you try to say to it? How would you try to calm down a raging, chocolate-spewing, stabbed-in-the-eyed god of technology?
- 1:54:00Peter Eggleston Connor: I don't know, I feel like…
- 1:54:06Peter Eggleston Connor: I want to treat it like a cat, but it's a robot, so I want to be like.
- 1:54:13Peter Eggleston Connor: calm down, and like, kind of, like, give it this feeling that I'm petting it, even though I'm not, and be like.
- 1:54:19Peter Eggleston Connor: It's alright, it's alright.
- 1:54:21Peter Eggleston Connor: We're not… we're not gonna…
- 1:54:25Peter Eggleston Connor: shit, I wanna say we're not gonna hurt you, but I just saw what Alan did, and it's like, we're… we… we can… we can settle down and, you know, stop fighting.
- 1:54:35Phil: We can control ZVIS.
- 1:54:37Larry Woods: The sun's getting real low.
- 1:54:39Phil: Yep, that's for sure. Okay, I will take that into consideration. Eamon, you, you have thrown, you have thrown your sword, so you are now, also a regular guy. Is there anything else you'd like to do, or should we… should we then cut to, Tad's, counter… counter-sword attack against…
- 1:54:58Phil: Against the, against the fallen that's pinning him.
- 1:55:09Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): I think I'm just gonna, kinda strafe around…
- 1:55:12Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): Just so I'm in a more strategic position. Okay. Since…
- 1:55:17Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): Lex seems to be trying to calm it down, and basically, if I need to, in a pinch, run up, basically so I have a…
- 1:55:26Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): Easier way to run up towards my sword.
- 1:55:28Phil: Gotcha, okay. Okay, so you're in position to… okay, so you're… you're kind of…
- 1:55:33Phil: staying out of the chocolate, but close enough to where you could jump onto it to get your sword if things get violent again. Okay, sounds good to me.
- 1:55:43Phil: Alan Tatt, would you like… I presume you would like to try to, swing your sword at this fallen, that is coming at you? I'm gonna say it's gonna be the same…
- 1:55:53Tad Eggleston: I mean, that… that does seem like a.
- 1:55:57Phil: Well, it's a reasonable thing to do, which is why you might not do it.
- 1:56:00Tad Eggleston: reasonable idea.
- 1:56:02Tad Eggleston: However… Now, does it actually have hands on me?
- 1:56:12Phil: Or is it just…
- 1:56:13Tad Eggleston: coming at me.
- 1:56:15Phil: It's not grappling you. It made a few swipes with its claws that you were able to deflect with your sword, but you know that you can't keep it up much longer, so you need to make an attempt at an attack, which, again, would be dexterity.
- 1:56:29Tad Eggleston: It would just be… So, my question is, I, I…
- 1:56:35Tad Eggleston: I am also a martial artist, and I have my concealed one-shot pistol.
- 1:56:41Phil: Oh, I forgot about your pistol!
- 1:56:44Phil: It sounds like an opportune time to pistol it.
- 1:56:47Tad Eggleston: Can't… you said that I can't quite get to the guitar, but it's chocolate. It's… it's a chocolate…
- 1:56:55Phil: Yes.
- 1:56:56Tad Eggleston: that I'm stuck in, right? Well, it's not made of chocolate, so you… you… well… It's not made of chocolate?
- 1:57:01Phil: Well, I guess it maybe… it probably is, it's probably all… yeah, that's how they are, so yeah, okay, so it's…
- 1:57:06Tad Eggleston: It's so…
- 1:57:07Phil: Well, so here's the thing. So if you do try to dislodge the guitar, you might, unstuck yourself and fall out the front.
- 1:57:17Phil: So you would fall backwards out of the room and wouldn't be able to help. That's the problem with grabbing the guitar.
- 1:57:25Tad Eggleston: Well, you haven't heard my plan yet.
- 1:57:28Phil: That is fair.
- 1:57:32Tad Eggleston: So… My plan is… Is that… I… I hold… the wall.
- 1:57:45Tad Eggleston: In front of me.
- 1:57:49Tad Eggleston: While swinging my feet.
- 1:57:53Tad Eggleston: To kick the chocolate above me.
- 1:57:59Tad Eggleston: So that I can tumble into the room.
- 1:58:05Tad Eggleston: Swing my guitar down.
- 1:58:08Tad Eggleston: And fire chain lightning.
- 1:58:12Phil: So… okay, so we're definitely gonna need…
- 1:58:16Phil: a dexterity roll, so similar situation. Three dice, one of which is your fool die, so 2 regulars plus the Fool for a disadvantaged, to see if you can pull off that maneuver, or if anything might go awry there.
- 1:58:33Tad Eggleston: 3 and 2, and a 3 on the full-time.
- 1:58:37Phil: 3 on the fold-out, but there wasn't a circle there. So, unfortunately, you did not succeed at this.
- 1:58:43Phil: So… you…
- 1:58:47Phil: I'm actually gonna say that you remain stuck, so you could still make an attack with a sword if you want, you just don't go anywhere.
- 1:58:55Tad Eggleston: It remains stuck, not even loosened or anything like that?
- 1:58:58Phil: I mean, maybe next turn it'll be a little easier, if we don't resolve.
- 1:59:01Tad Eggleston: Listen.
- 1:59:01Phil: but…
- 1:59:02Tad Eggleston: So, my biggest question, we didn't completely answer, the concealed one-shot, is it concealed in a place that I can get it?
- 1:59:10Phil: Yes, that's, like, up your sleeves.
- 1:59:12Tad Eggleston: So I sigh like Indiana Jones.
- 1:59:17Tad Eggleston: And pull out the pistol, and shoot the thing in front of me.
- 1:59:21Phil: Awesome, so…
- 1:59:22Tad Eggleston: Or it's a one-shot OP.
- 1:59:24Phil: Yes, so no disadvantages here, so roll your regular dexterity pool plus your Fool Die.
- 1:59:30Tad Eggleston: My dexterity pool is the 3 dice.
- 1:59:38Tad Eggleston: So, 6, 3, 3, and 1.
- 1:59:43Tad Eggleston: But I forgot to add… I needed to add a… I wouldn't have added on one. I needed to add a plus because of the last roll, every time.
- 1:59:52Tad Eggleston: Or I needed to add a circle, rather.
- 1:59:54Phil: So I did.
- 1:59:55Tad Eggleston: So, so I'll be adding two services.
- 1:59:57Phil: You cut out right as you were… gotcha. Right as you were reading, you cut out. So what was the… what was the result again?
- 2:00:03Tad Eggleston: Oh, it was… it was a 3-3-1 and a 3- er, it was a…
- 2:00:09Tad Eggleston: You know what? I forgot, and it moved.
- 2:00:12Phil: So, let's actually…
- 2:00:14Tad Eggleston: scrap it entirely, so that I can add the circle that I was supposed to have added.
- 2:00:19Phil: Fair? Fair, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 2:00:20Tad Eggleston: Would have added on 3.
- 2:00:22Phil: Right, and I, I…
- 2:00:24Tad Eggleston: So I have circles on 3 and 4, and my cube on 6. I have no crosses. I am officially rolling the dice.
- 2:00:32Phil: Yes. Yes.
- 2:00:34Phil: If I don't hear it, it doesn't roll.
- 2:00:36Tad Eggleston: And I have 544 with a 1 on the fool die.
- 2:00:41Phil: Perfect. So, this fallen is hit with a… somehow a slug from a pistol, and it flies across the room, and
- 2:00:51Phil: dissolves, drops some, some fair gold.
- 2:00:55Tad Eggleston: I mean, I like to think that my pistol doesn't actually fire slugs as much as massive,
- 2:01:04Tad Eggleston: orange energy… Bolts that also somehow sound like whatever to each individual is their least favorite sound.
- 2:01:18Phil: I like that. I like that. So it's like… I'm a.
- 2:01:23Tad Eggleston: So as it shoots towards them, they will be covering their ears in horror
- 2:01:28Tad Eggleston: And then it will hit them, and they will just disintegrate.
- 2:01:32Phil: And it's like, boink, or, you know… Right.
- 2:01:35Peter Eggleston Connor: Not everybody else here.
- 2:01:37Phil: everybody, anybody, myself included. So what is…
- 2:01:41Tad Eggleston: Actually, what are you both sounding like?
- 2:01:44Tad Eggleston: I just heard… A train screeching to a halt.
- 2:01:51Phil: Interesting, okay.
- 2:01:53Phil: Lee, how would that bullet sound to, to Willie?
- 2:01:58Larry Woods: Oh my goodness, I just heard, the absolute highest pitch of a blood-curdling… curdling scream.
- 2:02:09Tad Eggleston: Perhaps a Wilhelm screen?
- 2:02:13Larry Woods: Yup, just like that. That's hilarious.
- 2:02:17Phil: I will… I will spare anyone from me doing the, most annoying sound in the world from Dumb and Dumber. Yeah, that Jim Carrey does. I will not inflict that on anyone, but that's what I would hear it as.
- 2:02:30Phil: Awesome. Okay, so the fallen have been dispatched. The…
- 2:02:35Phil: chocolatering god. He's kind of… he's kind of breaking down a little bit,
- 2:02:42Phil: Pun not intended, but welcomed. He's like, I just… I, you know,
- 2:02:50Phil: Oh, something about this. So… so yes, alright, so this is… this is now the end of the episode. This is gonna kind of break it down.
- 2:02:58Phil: I'm not sure… so this is where we can actually start to forge a relationship, again, pun welcomed, with the Forge God. My original intent here was that.
- 2:03:08Tad Eggleston: So did I fall out when I shot the guy, or am I still stuck in the middle?
- 2:03:12Phil: That's a good point. Yes, you did fall out the front because of the force of the shot.
- 2:03:16Tad Eggleston: Okay.
- 2:03:17Phil: And you loosen yourself. So, boom! So you popped out, there's a hole in the front of it, the leak.
- 2:03:20Tad Eggleston: As I look up at him, and he seems to, like, have calmed and want to talk to us now.
- 2:03:28Phil: The Chocolatier God, it's kind of collapsing down into just a box with a head on top, so that, Willie could step out of the front there and meet the group if he wanted to.
- 2:03:39Tad Eggleston: Does it… but does it look at all friendly?
- 2:03:41Phil: It's… it's looking pacified and irritated and tired.
- 2:03:46Tad Eggleston: Okay, I would interpret it. I would totally interpret that as friendly. I go, hey, dude, you're the chocolate god, I know the marshmallow god, is there a graham cracker god? Because that would be awesome.
- 2:04:00Phil: Oh, not yet.
- 2:04:05Phil: Probably not. Probably no Graham Cracker god. I don't think I decided on everything.
- 2:04:10Tad Eggleston: That… that's what the chocolate god says to me?
- 2:04:12Phil: I'm talking…
- 2:04:13Tad Eggleston: to the chocolate God. He is allowed to roll his eyes and not respond.
- 2:04:17Tad Eggleston: What?
- 2:04:19Tad Eggleston: But I am talking to the chocolate God, not to the grand mask.
- 2:04:23Phil: Right, right. Oh, that's a great point, it's a great point. I, I think instead,
- 2:04:31Phil: he would say something like, the only, the only graham crackers I know are… are comics, not… not edible.
- 2:04:40Phil: And that's, that's literally a reference to Graham Cracker Comics, retail chain, comic book stores in the Chicagoland area that, that, that I frequented when I lived there. Huzzah. Pretty good.
- 2:04:51Larry Woods: Pretty good.
- 2:04:51Phil: But yeah, that's… it…
- 2:04:56Phil: I'm so torn, because I can't quite bring myself to say that the gods don't know about s'mores, but I… I have yet to… you know what, that's… there we go, there we go.
- 2:05:06Phil: What he actually says to you is…
- 2:05:10Phil: Trickster, you're the god of graham crackers.
- 2:05:13Phil: Because remember, the trickster god had attached itself to Tad. It did not leave
- 2:05:21Phil: er, Alan, did not leave his body.
- 2:05:24Phil: And was rather mysterious, and didn't say anything. So.
- 2:05:29Tad Eggleston: Okay, so now I am…
- 2:05:31Tad Eggleston: I'm snapping my fingers and trying to figure out… I'm looking around to see if the graham crackers will appear in the air, and that's probably what I'll do for the rest of the episode while you guys are doing whatever your thing is.
- 2:05:45Phil: There we go. And Rose, Rose just walked Cause she's…
- 2:05:47Tad Eggleston: Unless Phil tells me that a graham cracker does appear, at which point…
- 2:05:52Phil: I mean, go ahead and roll your D6.
- 2:05:55Phil: You're fooled, I…
- 2:06:05Tad Eggleston: 2.
- 2:06:07Phil: Now, well, you snap your fingers and you think you feel like some crumbs, but those might have been there before.
- 2:06:15Tad Eggleston: 10.
- 2:06:16Peter Eggleston Connor: They might…
- 2:06:17Tad Eggleston: By the way, after the last 4, I added a 0 to the 5 die, or a…
- 2:06:25Phil: I think… I think you're… I think… I think that… that was… that was clever enough to where I'd reward that with a… with another… with another circle as well, so…
- 2:06:33Tad Eggleston: Okay, so now there's a circle on the 2 die, because I keep rolling twos, even though I don't have circles there.
- 2:06:40Phil: There we go. And that's where Rose walks up to you, and she's like, honey, honey, it doesn't… it's not that… it doesn't work like that.
- 2:06:48Phil: I'm not sure… But I keep trying. But I keep trying. You do, you do.
- 2:06:52Tad Eggleston: I keep trying.
- 2:06:55Phil: I had plans to kill either Swink or Droke, but I couldn't work it in, so they have continued.
- 2:07:00Tad Eggleston: That's good, because I like them.
- 2:07:02Phil: There we go.
- 2:07:03Tad Eggleston: I haven't managed to tell them that I like them yet, but I like them. They seem cool. I want them to be my grid.
- 2:07:08Peter Eggleston Connor: Yeah, but…
- 2:07:09Tad Eggleston: Tom.
- 2:07:10Peter Eggleston Connor: But it could be the dwarves.
- 2:07:12Peter Eggleston Connor: Think about it.
- 2:07:13Phil: kind of, yeah, yeah, they're a little bit like those guys. But yeah, so, so they, they both continue to live, they, they continue to hang out with you, they're like.
- 2:07:22Phil: hey, we'll, you know, we'll try to fan or pay it again. I guess, I guess they're probably also a little concerned because, they are, you know, they're…
- 2:07:35Phil: You know, they don't realize that they're on a different die yet.
- 2:07:39Phil: Because again, we… I don't remember if this is clear in the book or not, but the world is…
- 2:07:43Tad Eggleston: A different die, or a different side of the die?
- 2:07:46Phil: No, a different die. Because we jettisoned off of the old one and then crashed into a new one.
- 2:07:52Tad Eggleston: That's right.
- 2:07:52Phil: I should probably figure out which side y'all are on.
- 2:07:56Phil: Well, that's interesting.
- 2:07:58Phil: So, with that, with the pacification of the chocolatier god,
- 2:08:04Phil: Willie, would you like to introduce yourself to the group as you step out of the… the chocolate chamber and, you know.
- 2:08:13Phil: are a, hard Sling… Gunslinging Cowboy… Loner.
- 2:08:19Larry Woods: Yeah, absolutely. So, I have to say this, after which, I'm sure after the building collapses and reaches sort of ground level, as it were, Willie, will have gone and picked up those two Fair Gold, and put them into his, like, sort of
- 2:08:38Larry Woods: Pouch area.
- 2:08:40Larry Woods: Unless he needs to consume them right away, but I think I can store them, right?
- 2:08:43Phil: They last 24 hours, or… or until… until the next morning. So… so from here, we're… we're saying, okay, it's been, you know.
- 2:08:51Phil: Whoa, oh.
- 2:08:52Phil: Days are hard between months. Yeah.
- 2:08:55Phil: Gotcha. But we'll get there.
- 2:08:56Larry Woods: All good. So, as he sort of put that in pouch, and he's walking out, and you hear sort of boot steps, and he's reloading his gun, because a rollover only has 6 shots, so he's expending the 3 cartridges, and is…
- 2:09:10Larry Woods: And he's going… I asked you once.
- 2:09:15Larry Woods: Who the fuck are you?
- 2:09:19Larry Woods: And it's like…
- 2:09:20Peter Eggleston Connor: Rose steps in, because Rose recognizes you.
- 2:09:25Phil: Willie? Is that you? How'd you get here?
- 2:09:29Larry Woods: Miss Rhodes!
- 2:09:31Larry Woods: I… I'll be quite honest, I don't know how I got… what are you doing here?
- 2:09:36Phil: That is… a long story that we're still figuring out, to be honest.
- 2:09:43Phil: But we will certainly need protection.
- 2:09:47Phil: going forward, Rose… Rose is suddenly… she's kind of getting ideas, she's… she's getting realizations, she's getting a flash of a conversation between the… the Lord of Light and…
- 2:10:01Phil: the, god of fate that is, is the god that the, the master, well, the not-god, not master, made a pact with.
- 2:10:11Phil: To where they're, they're discussing what to do about the trickster god.
- 2:10:18Phil: And they say, we can't remove him completely, but we can condense him down to this.
- 2:10:25Phil: And so, Rose knows there's some object that is related to the trickster god, in that realm.
- 2:10:35Phil: And that's about a good time for the end of the episode.
- 2:10:39Phil: I was hoping at some point that someone would have looked around.
- 2:10:44Phil: I didn't really describe the environment beyond the rubble, but…
- 2:10:48Phil: Just at the edge of your vision, you're now realizing there was a wall. A giant time bubble is coming down from overhead and is falling down, so that now you can tell that, okay, you still are on die.
- 2:11:05Phil: Early on, I established that die is a little bit weird, it feels different than our reality, because there are 3 cardinal directions instead of 4, because standing on the die, you can only go based off of the sides to one of three different sides.
- 2:11:19Phil: And so you can now see, like, that edge of a horizon that, okay, no, you're still here, this is still die, there are places to go. And as that time bubble
- 2:11:30Phil: falls down, peter…
- 2:11:33Phil: Lex sees in her heads-up display, a rapid firing of ding, ding, ding, as you get more notifications, and you see that, let's see here…
- 2:11:53Phil: 24 times, 7 times 16 times, let's see here, it's…
- 2:12:09Phil: Your… your playtime has gone from 4 digits to about 12?
- 2:12:15Phil: Between where you were on the previous world and now, about a thousand years have passed.
- 2:12:24Peter Eggleston Connor: Great.
- 2:12:25Phil: So…
- 2:12:25Peter Eggleston Connor: Yeah, that… that needs to be an eye…
- 2:12:32Peter Eggleston Connor: Not this session, but I'm starting to make a list of things where it's like, these are my now objectives.
- 2:12:40Peter Eggleston Connor: And one of those is now to go figure out what the time is…
- 2:12:45Phil: The time dilation?
- 2:12:46Peter Eggleston Connor: Yeah, what the time is back home.
- 2:12:48Phil: Right? And this is also where, so this is a little, a little meta note to close on. I had originally said that, that you were the seedling of a god that could turn into the god of the forage. That proved out to be false.
- 2:13:06Phil: The God of the forge is the god of chocolate, the chocolatier, that's fine.
- 2:13:10Phil: What you could turn into.
- 2:13:13Phil: Is one of the fair.
- 2:13:14Phil: And now that there are two of you, you know that one of you will become the fair, and one of you will not.
- 2:13:20Phil: And that's the end of this episode.
- 2:13:24Phil: But yeah, and from there, we move on to stars and wishes, the things that we enjoyed, that we might want to see more of. I want to say stars all around. I think y'all did a great job. I had a lot of fun this episode. This was a good old time for me, from Persona Generation to now. Yeah.
- 2:13:46Tad Eggleston: Had a good time this episode, too.
- 2:13:48Tad Eggleston: Lee, it's great to have you.
- 2:13:50Peter Eggleston Connor: Yeah. Do you need a description of stars and wishes? I mean, I think Phil went over it pretty well. Stars are just, like, you know, things that you liked and wishes are things that
- 2:14:00Peter Eggleston Connor: You wish were different.
- 2:14:03Phil: Damn.
- 2:14:04Phil: Or, like, if…
- 2:14:04Peter Eggleston Connor: Kind of give the basic of it.
- 2:14:06Phil: On that note, Tad has also, expanded it to, like, like, he said he'd hoped that we would visit the world of Lazarus as one of the sides of Dai, and I told him, okay,
- 2:14:20Phil: we can do that, but to unlock it, you need the King for a Day ability. So, so the other little things, if you're like, hey, you know, I think he also mentioned wanting to visit the world of criminal, Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips Criminal.
- 2:14:31Tad Eggleston: No, that was… you saw that there was a…
- 2:14:34Phil: Well, this was… you mentioned that months and months ago.
- 2:14:36Peter Eggleston Connor: Yeah.
- 2:14:37Phil: I'm saying…
- 2:14:38Phil: Yeah, yeah, but if Kieran Gillen writes a criminal RPG for the Criminals Christmas special coming out this year, I feel like we kind of have to at least play one quick.
- 2:14:48Peter Eggleston Connor: Yeah, I mean, like, I feel like Wishes… Wishes very much is, like, exactly in line with that. Like, it's… it's anything… it could be anything from, oh, I…
- 2:14:59Peter Eggleston Connor: really, like, it can be hopes, and it, like, hopes and wish is pretty similar, but it can be like, oh yeah, I really wish to see, like, you know, Forbidden Jungle, the board game in this world and die. Sorry, I was.
- 2:15:15Phil: Legends of the Hidden Temple.
- 2:15:17Peter Eggleston Connor: Legends of the Hidden Temple.
- 2:15:19Phil: Yeah.
- 2:15:20Peter Eggleston Connor: I really want to see Hollow Knight become a thing. I want a solid die world where, like, we go underneath, like, the world and have to deal with bug people.
- 2:15:30Phil: So…
- 2:15:32Peter Eggleston Connor: Oh, okay, well, if you want… .
- 2:15:34Phil: I, I…
- 2:15:35Peter Eggleston Connor: That's the wishes part. The likes part is, like, you take some… like, it's always good to try and reflect on, like, things that, like, happened during the session, and sort of, like, one, it helps retain memory,
- 2:15:48Peter Eggleston Connor: I liked that, you know, I could, after hacking the creature, sort of, like, try to charm it into, you know, sorry, hacking the, Forge God, calling it a creature is…
- 2:16:02Peter Eggleston Connor: Little…
- 2:16:03Phil: statement.
- 2:16:03Peter Eggleston Connor: Little bit of an understatement. Forgecop, please, don't, don't.
- 2:16:09Phil: Influence.
- 2:16:09Peter Eggleston Connor: hinder bill.
- 2:16:10Phil: And Mysterious Actually, yeah, yeah. I mean, it's… at this point, yeah.
- 2:16:15Peter Eggleston Connor: I'm most worried about myself, I mean…
- 2:16:18Peter Eggleston Connor: I think we're on a good level, other than the fact that I just called it a creature, but, you know…
- 2:16:26Peter Eggleston Connor: Yeah, so, like, you know, I thought that was a very entertaining thing, and, you know, I did also, like, kind of, just rehashing
- 2:16:37Peter Eggleston Connor: actually rehashing a lot of stuff, especially when… with, like, bringing you on, Lee, and then rehashing, sorta, hey, do we know how to escape die? And it's like, okay, so the rules for escaping Dai are actually told to us, and so was that told to Lee, too? Like…
- 2:16:52Phil: That's a good point. Not yet, but I'm sure it'll come up. Basically, just, you know.
- 2:16:59Peter Eggleston Connor: Well, I mean, it's gonna probably come up naturally, since that conversation seemed to have, been interrupted, but…
- 2:17:06Phil: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:17:07Phil: it was one of those where if y'all had gotten to that point of attempting the ritual, that's what would have woken up the Forge God of Chocolate, instead of what actually did.
- 2:17:18Peter Eggleston Connor: What day to wake it up again? I don't remember.
- 2:17:20Phil: Oh, oh, oh, oh, putting… putting the decision of whether to do it or not on Rose was like, well, I don't want to decide, so I'll just… yeah.
- 2:17:30Phil: I'll just jump to it. That's… I've done that… I've done that with several, several moments where I'm like, okay, I've got this prep, and then I've got this, like, kind of blank area, and then I'll get to this next element.
- 2:17:40Peter Eggleston Connor: Yeah, I'll be like, it's fine, it's a way, it's a strategy.
- 2:17:43Phil: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:17:47Peter Eggleston Connor: It's one of those things where if it was probably me, I probably would have rolled a die.
- 2:17:50Peter Eggleston Connor: But that's not necessarily, like, you know, you don't have to do that.
- 2:17:55Phil: That is, you know…
- 2:17:56Phil: That's a pretty… it's a… when all else fails, roll a die. That's one of the other rules, is that if you roll a die, something happens.
- 2:18:03Peter Eggleston Connor: Right. Is that random? No, I'm kidding.
- 2:18:06Phil: You could try, you could see what hap- you know?
- 2:18:09Peter Eggleston Connor: I just rolled a 6. What were you doing? Nothing.
- 2:18:12Phil: What's status?
- 2:18:14Peter Eggleston Connor: It's the most magnificent nothing that you have ever done.
- 2:18:18Phil: You actually… you're able to forget about the existence of, like, a comedian that annoys you, or something like that.
- 2:18:25Peter Eggleston Connor: I guess my only real wish is, like, as I've been thinking about it, like.
- 2:18:29Peter Eggleston Connor: make, like… I don't think it's gonna be an issue. It sounds like they're different enough characters, but making sure that, like, you know, there's… there's enough difference between our Neos that, you know…
- 2:18:41Phil: Yes, I actually have thought about that already. I'm open to suggestions. I mean, I'm really glad that immediately Lee picked the gun, and you have the sword.
- 2:18:52Phil: So, it's a little tricky, because there are only 9 gifts, but, I mean, whenever possible, I feel like, you know, it's one of those.
- 2:19:01Peter Eggleston Connor: I mean, I'm getting to the point where, like, the things that, like, mostly interest me at the moment seem to be the AI and the… I feel like the light field projector is gonna come into play. I'm not sure that I'm… I might end up getting wet works, we'll see. I don't know.
- 2:19:16Phil: And that's the thing, is that…
- 2:19:18Phil: Again, you're going with more of the…
- 2:19:21Phil: the cyber part of the NEO, whereas, you know.
- 2:19:28Peter Eggleston Connor: Yeah, I feel like that's a pretty distinct thing, it's just, you know…
- 2:19:32Phil: Yeah.
- 2:19:32Peter Eggleston Connor: I think that was my concern early, like, in this session, I was like…
- 2:19:36Peter Eggleston Connor: a little… I was like, oh, there's gonna be a second NEO.
- 2:19:39Phil: And like I said, we're gonna make sure that you both have enough gold, it's not, you know, I don't want the… don't want…
- 2:19:45Peter Eggleston Connor: I'm not worried super about that part. That can be actually kind of interesting, but, you know…
- 2:19:51Phil: Well, it's… I come from, you know, when I was a kid playing dungeon crawlers, you know, I had a friend that his top priority was grabbing all the loot before killing anything.
- 2:20:03Phil: Yeah. Yeah.
- 2:20:04Peter Eggleston Connor: Oh,
- 2:20:07Peter Eggleston Connor: Let me… let me rephrase that. There definitely needs to make sure that there's balance, and, like, you know, we're figuring out how to properly, you know, sort of not just, like, be like, oh, there's Fair Gold, oh, I'm gonna grab it, I now have all the stocks of Fair Gold, and of course, there is, like, that whole…
- 2:20:28Peter Eggleston Connor: Addiction sort of thing, so…
- 2:20:31Peter Eggleston Connor: that might still happen, but it, like, it could be more of a role-play sort of… I mean, like, hopefully whenever it happens, it's something where we're sort of talking about it and figuring out how to, like, make this interesting and fun, right?
- 2:20:46Phil: Right, and also, like, for the way that,
- 2:20:51Phil: for the way how each of your pieces are immediately a little bit… a little bit different, I'm already thinking that if, like, you're low on gold, and you're like, Willie, give me a piece, and Willie's like, here you go, and he flicks a die to you, how would that feel? Like, it wouldn't turn into a coin.
- 2:21:07Phil: you would now… the die… the die would, like, pop into your slot. So it's the kind of thing of, like, there's gonna be different.
- 2:21:13Peter Eggleston Connor: jamming in that slot.
- 2:21:14Phil: Yeah, yeah, yeah, right, right. It's, it's gonna, it's gonna get through there somehow.
- 2:21:19Phil: three-dimensional Plinko, I don't know. But, but yeah, yeah.
- 2:21:25Peter Eggleston Connor: That's exciting. Good talk about it.
- 2:21:27Phil: Chu, I hope, I hope you're okay with your character becoming a murderer, last episode, and, I hope you're also okay with the, temptations to evil. I know that, that Aemon is very pure of heart, so that's why I thought it would be interesting to,
- 2:21:46Phil: have him attached to such a dark entity. Which, I would also say that the eldritch entity is absolutely the god of libraries, because it is the god of knowledge, terrible, and unknown.
- 2:21:57Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): Have some ideas.
- 2:21:59Phil: Okay.
- 2:22:00Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): It'll make… It'll make Chad look at me in a completely different new light.
- 2:22:05Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): As I've been told when I was playing
- 2:22:09Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): one game, they said, okay, you guys are gonna be doing crime, submit me a list, and we'll go week… it was a week-to-week thing.
- 2:22:18Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): And he got my list, and he just goes.
- 2:22:21Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): I just got the text back.
- 2:22:23Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): what in the actual fuck is wrong with you? I'm like, you said two crimes! He goes.
- 2:22:28Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): I said do crimes, but this is actually a well-thought-out plan, and…
- 2:22:34Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): It… do you do crimes? Like…
- 2:22:38Tad Eggleston: No, that sounds about right for you.
- 2:22:43Phil: Are… are you saying that, that you, you, established a, like, a bag of potato chips with, like, a tiny TV in it to, to allow you to murder people from a distance? Is that… is that the kind.
- 2:22:53Tad Eggleston: I mean, if I was gonna… if I was gonna rob a bank, Chu would be one of the guys I'd call.
- 2:22:59Phil: Nice.
- 2:23:01Peter Eggleston Connor: There you go.
- 2:23:03Phil: There we go.
- 2:23:05Phil: And.
- 2:23:05Tad Eggleston: I'm not gonna rob a bank, since we're still…
- 2:23:09Peter Eggleston Connor: God'll hear.
- 2:23:10Phil: Good to establish. I mean, you know…
- 2:23:11Tad Eggleston: not a… not a plan of mine right now, and… and… and, you know, for the FBI or whatever, I would totally not call Chu. He wouldn't be on board whatsoever.
- 2:23:23Tad Eggleston: Definitely, he would have no interest in robbing a bank for me by… by poisoning cookies that we'd hand out to, like, the… the cashiers or anything like that.
- 2:23:35Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): No, you don't poison them, you just… what you do is you… Not like…
- 2:23:39Tad Eggleston: Killer poison, just the thing that'll…
- 2:23:41Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): No, what you do is you make it so it's food poisoning.
- 2:23:44Tad Eggleston: Oh, yeah, they all have to go to the bathroom at once, and then you just close the door.
- 2:23:49Chang Po (Brae Bluewalker of the Veilthat Clan): Well, no, because it also has a 20… 12 to 72 hour incubation time.
- 2:23:54Tad Eggleston: Okay, okay. But we're not talking about this, this is… No.
- 2:23:59Tad Eggleston: This is…
- 2:24:00Phil: This is… these are.
- 2:24:01Peter Eggleston Connor: Future session plans? I mean, definitely not talking about this on air.
- 2:24:04Phil: No, because with that, I mean, you know, Tad, we, you know.
- 2:24:10Peter Eggleston Connor: Well, I was gonna… before you, hand things back, I was gonna make sure… see, did you have anything that you… any thoughts about this session at all?
- 2:24:19Phil: Oh, yeah.
- 2:24:19Peter Eggleston Connor: And…
- 2:24:20Larry Woods: Just to make sure that, like, you know, because you are the new player, it's always good to… Yeah!
- 2:24:25Peter Eggleston Connor: Thank you.
- 2:24:27Larry Woods: the star, I think the shining thing that… shining star, no pun intended, is that, just the sort of help and the feedback, that I got from today's session in building this sort of character and bringing, Willie to life, I think was really cool, so…
- 2:24:42Larry Woods: I think the only thing I would change, again, if it's… if we need to retcon something, I did sort of think about it, Peter taking your, line here, is that rather than getting home.
- 2:24:53Larry Woods: I would say that, and closing the door, and that's when he got transported, is that he was making a run to the comic shop, and he saw one of the little die, and just got immediately pulled onto that as he's making it drop off, and he goes into.
- 2:25:09Phil: Interesting.
- 2:25:10Larry Woods: I agree.
- 2:25:11Larry Woods: The reason?
- 2:25:12Phil: the other world. I like that too.
- 2:25:14Phil: I like that too. There was a cash drop.
- 2:25:16Phil: Around the time, and it just… it was delayed. But yeah.
- 2:25:19Phil: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:25:20Larry Woods: wishes. I don't know if I have any quite yet. I'm thinking right now I'm going to learn a little bit more, go over some of the rules and skill sets for the NEO again, and yeah, I definitely think… of course, I'm more than happy to talk and collaborate with you, Peter, as the other NEO, but I think we can make it.
- 2:25:37Peter Eggleston Connor: Oh yeah, sure.
- 2:25:38Larry Woods: For both.
- 2:25:39Peter Eggleston Connor: Yeah, we'll figure it out. I'm not, you know, obviously, mostly, I just, like, you know, I was thinking about it earlier, and then, like, we got as far as, like, oh, I should probably voice this just to, like, it's out there, not… Yeah.
- 2:25:50Phil: No, no, no.
- 2:25:51Peter Eggleston Connor: Because I think it's actually going to be an issue, just because…
- 2:25:53Phil: pick all of the same abilities, you have to be a copy of the same character. No, that's, that's ridiculous.
- 2:25:59Peter Eggleston Connor: I mean, that would be a whole different RP, anyhow.
- 2:26:02Phil: Absolutely, yeah, no, no, no. I, I, I think, I think we're, we're already moving in strong directions. And, and with that, I, I say, but…
- 2:26:11Phil: But Chad, we… we can't… we can't stop 22 panels yet. Like you said, you've got, like, 11 episodes this week, you know, you can't just abandon those fine… fine comic book folks, you know? We've gotta… we gotta get the word out, you know?
- 2:26:24Tad Eggleston: I wasn't abandoning them, I was sticking it on you.
- 2:26:27Phil: Oh, I can't do this without you! Are you kidding me?
- 2:26:33Tad Eggleston: I would fall off the.
- 2:26:34Phil: face of the earth alone!
- 2:26:37Tad Eggleston: A.
- 2:26:38Tad Eggleston: Okay, okay, okay.
- 2:26:42Tad Eggleston: For 22 panels, this has been the Die RPG.
- 2:26:46Tad Eggleston: We will see you after the next page.
