- 0:01[SPEAKER_01]: What is happening everybody and welcome to the sports card CEO and guess what we have all three of the boys in the house Gary's in the closet And current is in the bathroom currently on the can, but we do have all three to see My name is Bob Yeah, who that yeah, I'm broken into two of your syllables here
- 0:33[SPEAKER_02]: He did it, a 47 season and a season of life in the other and naturely baseball history from one of the co-nature.
- 0:47[SPEAKER_02]: There's a drive right on the battlefield.
- 0:50[SPEAKER_02]: But amazing.
- 0:52[SPEAKER_02]: He is happy.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_02]: Hey, it's this round hard.
- 0:55[SPEAKER_02]: He's so high in the left.
- 0:58[SPEAKER_02]: My truck has ripped them all around.
- 1:00[SPEAKER_00]: What's up, guys?
- 1:00[SPEAKER_00]: This is Mike Traut.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to listen to the sports car CEO of Kirk, Buffland Hand.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_01]: Well boys this has been a minute since we've had everybody on and we just wanted to kind of come together the three of us and really just take a moment man and just speak directly to our listeners.
- 1:14[SPEAKER_01]: Thank everybody and talk a little bit about where we all are.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, just kind of reminisce a little bit on this wild journey that we've been on for the SportsCard CEO the past.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_01]: What was this like 20 months or something like that?
- 1:26[SPEAKER_01]: We've pushed in 20 months here boys.
- 1:28[SPEAKER_04]: Thanks so.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, just about 20 months of Wednesdays, there you have it Wednesdays, yeah, there you have it.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_01]: So what's going on boys, let's kind of like just kick it off your current, you kind of lead us off and then Bubba follow up and I'll close up and then we'll kind of chat for a moment and let it by know what's going on where we're going from here.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, um, it's late year on Sunday night just so all of you guys know and um that's been sitting on waiting for Bubba and I but really waiting for me to put the kids to bed these kids are not cooperating so I apologize for leaving you on here for about 30 45 minutes.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_01]: So it's it's it's all good man.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_01]: I'm just to find a time where the three of us can get together man has been a challenge.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's kind of part of what we want to tell everybody.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_01]: He's just like
- 2:14[SPEAKER_01]: There's been a lot of personal things, schedule things, or whatever, and it's like, you know, we committed to doing this every week, and it's an undertaking, you know, the mean, and I think we all have loved it and want to continue to do it, but it's just it's getting more difficult with the season of life around.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, it is.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, like, look, on my side for me, I was in the hands of the summer as you all know and back in the city, back in the grind and like, business is like crazy than ever, which in a good way.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_03]: But I just, I like, I don't have a minute, you know?
- 2:43[SPEAKER_03]: It feels like a three kids business and then I'm working on something else that y'all will find out about two weeks.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_03]: I know you guys are aware, but we'll both at looks confused.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_03]: But Matt is aware, but in two weeks, everybody will know what I've been up to.
- 2:59[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm excited to share that news, but other than that, like, I've been laying low in a card front, you know, I've been selling, I've been selling some stuff as it makes sense.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_03]: I sold the, uh, the Lombard Super, Gary and I sold it to Paula Super, nice sale.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_03]: What's going on with you guys?
- 3:16[SPEAKER_03]: Bubba!
- 3:17[SPEAKER_04]: Well, man, so four kids here, as you'll know, I'm three have been in sports and even my wife's got our daughter who's in kindergarten here doing twirl and cheerleading and everything else.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_04]: So we have been on the grind, our self, been coaching football, which I love.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_04]: Honestly, if I, I think I said 20 something years ago in my wife that if I could of chose that career path,
- 3:43[SPEAKER_04]: I would have chosen to be a football coach because I absolutely love it, so that's been fun, but it's a lot of time to big commitment.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_04]: It's every single afternoon at three o'clock.
- 3:53[SPEAKER_04]: So you try to figure out, you get your kids out the door, get them to school it around eight.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_04]: The time three o'clock rolls around, it's hard to get much done throughout days.
- 4:02[SPEAKER_04]: But when we got a couple weeks left with that, been doing that quite a bit.
- 4:06[SPEAKER_04]: We're about to build a new house here in Georgia.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_04]: which is a huge undertaking when you're going to build a home, finally finished up the kind of the farm project I've been working on.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_03]: So, but so you're moving out of this place or are you building a new home elsewhere, like somewhere else in Georgia?
- 4:22[SPEAKER_03]: Like you.
- 4:22[SPEAKER_04]: So yeah, in Georgia, brought across the from my property other than that right now, I actually bought on the other side of the river about 70 acres.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_04]: So it's literally, if I could make a bridge, I could I could cross to where my new property is.
- 4:38[SPEAKER_04]: It's the lazy river, the lazy river of Appalachy.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_03]: So congratulations on that to Paul's sale.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_03]: You were able to buy 70 acres.
- 4:46[SPEAKER_03]: Congratulations.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, thank you so much.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, Georgia here, land is about $100 an acre.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_04]: So I'm million acres with that.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, you're excited.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_04]: Very excited with that sale.
- 5:00[SPEAKER_04]: But now I mean, for the most part, in my life, has just really been, you know,
- 5:08[SPEAKER_04]: It has been really just kind of figuring out the next step for me, you know, like what do I want to do?
- 5:13[SPEAKER_04]: What I want in my life and I think for the first time in a long time the right word is just being content.
- 5:19[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not searching for anything else, I'm not searching for anything more.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_04]: I'm just trying to really take this season in my oldest son just turned 13.
- 5:30[SPEAKER_04]: So we've got a teenager in our house and that's a real eye opener when that happens.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_04]: because it's like the first time that we actually, I feel like he's not a kid anymore.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_04]: So that's a, that's a real eye opener.
- 5:40[SPEAKER_04]: And so just trying to take this time of my kids as much as I can and really work on me, man.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_04]: And then doing that.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_04]: So I'm still, uh, I'm still the same old Bowman farm.
- 5:49[SPEAKER_04]: I can get a little crazy, but uh, I don't know if I'm the headbutt the screen tonight.
- 5:53[SPEAKER_04]: And my, uh, might be just a, a tick down in my, uh, in my energy.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you know what, guys, for me, you know, there's no secret here.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, it's been a super busy season, right?
- 6:05[SPEAKER_01]: And one of the things that we've committed to the three of us is trying to continue to put content out there.
- 6:10[SPEAKER_01]: And again, that's been something that I've kind of spearheaded here in Y'all's absence.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_01]: And we get listeners that kind of throw some comments here there.
- 6:18[SPEAKER_01]: They're asking about you guys or whatever.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_01]: And like, I'm the guy going like, man, they're both good.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_01]: They're just busy.
- 6:23[SPEAKER_01]: And like, I just wanted to kind of get the three of us on
- 6:27[SPEAKER_01]: You know, a little mat and I've been doing episodes and we've been doing some stuff here and there and it's like, you know, I missed the days when the three of us like there was a pure aspect of this podcast where it was just three dudes, you know, three dads, three CEOs, three card, you know, fellas jumping on and you know, you always want to insulate and keep everything in this little bubble like the way it was, but that's really not the season that we're in right now.
- 6:51[SPEAKER_01]: And so we've been trying to kind of like piece it together and do some different stuff and keep some good content out there and again I just want our listeners to know you know kind of hear it from your mouths of like hey Here's what's going on with these guys.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_01]: You know I'm saying it's not that we don't appreciate it One of the things I would say is that I'm so deeply appreciative and again It's not like things are ending.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's not like things are over like no
- 7:12[SPEAKER_01]: our listeners to be clear, like that's not what's going on here.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_01]: But again, the likelihood of the three of us being on each week as we move forward is probably going to be, you know, unlikely for a moment, and things may transition.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_01]: But I just wanted to speak to that for our listeners and just come from the place of like sincere gratitude for our listener base.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_01]: Because I mean, we have personal conversations for our listeners.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I got guys stopping me at the Charlotte card show dude, like hey guys, I listen to your podcast every week I appreciate the hell out of it.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_01]: I love you guys.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_01]: I love what you guys do and I wish all three of us could quit everything That's we're doing and just do this pod full-time and have a media brand and go to games and hang with athletes or whatever But like that's not the reality either So like we're trying to kind of like do all of these different things and you know, I mean I just want to make sure people understand how thankful we are
- 8:01[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, for sure.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_03]: This is it's first off.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you to you and little Matt for like peak it picking up the pieces of the puzzle here because like Bubba and I aren't able to jump on it for a week and you know, you've you've made it a big sacrifice and you're busy life to make it, you know, you're you're baby to kind of make sure that
- 8:22[SPEAKER_03]: We put out an episode every Wednesday.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_03]: So this is by no means the end of sports car CEO This is not what this episode is about this episode is about just getting on all together Leaning why we all three haven't been on at the same time and also as Matt will explain it a little bit kind of How we're gonna be looking moving forward.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_03]: That's all
- 8:42[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but if this is not the end, I will still be on here.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_03]: Bubbles still be on here, the likelihood of all three of us being on your week, unlikely.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_03]: And so yeah, we owe it to you guys to give you that explanation at least.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_03]: But look, I wish I could be on here every single day, get the answer with you.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_03]: But like, it's not, we did this because we enjoyed it, right?
- 9:01[SPEAKER_03]: Life happens, things change in our lives, um, the last transpire.
- 9:06[SPEAKER_03]: And it's just, look, it's not like we're getting paid to do this, you know?
- 9:10[SPEAKER_03]: We're getting paid, honestly, it'd be difficult because we have so much other stuff going on, but it'd be a lot different, but at that way, it's hard to find the time to come on your consistently every single week, you know?
- 9:22[SPEAKER_03]: Maybe there'll be another point in times, you know, in the near future where I'm able to do that, but right now, for me, that's not the time.
- 9:29[SPEAKER_03]: This is not the time, but so, but thank you for everybody for listening.
- 9:33[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, it is, yes, continue to listen, please, when I go on anywhere, but,
- 9:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, for sure.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_01]: Like I said, it was just it was a good moment in time for us to kind of say, and you know, we've been carrying on the season two for like a while now and kind of the talk has been like, hey, maybe it's a good time to kind of transition into season three and you know season one was heavy on
- 9:51[SPEAKER_01]: learning ourselves, learning the navigating the card market, heavy, heavy card conversations, a lot of athlete interviews, things of that nature.
- 10:00[SPEAKER_01]: Season 2 was kind of a little bit more of a dive into some personal stuff, the diversification of our guests, talking a little bit more about life and stuff like that.
- 10:09[SPEAKER_01]: Season 3 is going to be kind of a smattering of all the different things, having the opportunity.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_01]: you know, to be able to share like the ups, the downs, the ends, the outs with life cards, whatever, you know, bring a little mat and act to the table about our experiences with the cards, his knowledge of the market, have some guest stuff, Kern, going to be able to talk about some of your endeavors, Bubba, some of your passions and things.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_01]: So anyway, Bubba, you have any thoughts, maybe you want to share just as, as we kind of like, you know, target this whole looking back on the show.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_04]: I do, I just want to say thanks to Kern and you specifically, I mean it's, man, I mean whenever you start something, it doesn't matter if it's a business, if it's anything that you love to do, this was a passion project and man, I mean the way that it started was a conversation in a friendship, honestly that, you know, Kern and I had built and then Ham, you and I had built, kind of separately and then we all came together to kind
- 11:09[SPEAKER_04]: It's been so much fun.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I have enjoyed every second of it, honestly.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, some of you go back, I wish we had some bloopers to get a chair of kind of the green room before these things get started and kind of after.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_04]: But it's managed just, it's crazy how much life can change in 20 months.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, how much since when we started this thing, and this is just the truth.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_04]: There's no holding back here from this front,
- 11:36[SPEAKER_04]: You know, who I was encouraged 20 months ago to who I am and course a day is a totally different thing.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_04]: The amount of time I was spending in it, you know, that's the biggest thing right there.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_03]: That's, yeah, go ahead.
- 11:48[SPEAKER_03]: I'm sorry to interrupt you.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_04]: I was just saying, I think that you can resonate the same thing.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, you and I, I mean, we hit that off that way, right?
- 11:55[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, we were living in this.
- 11:56[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, I, when I say I lived in it, I mean, I lived,
- 12:00[SPEAKER_04]: in the Bowman world.
- 12:02[SPEAKER_04]: I lived in card ladder.
- 12:03[SPEAKER_04]: I lived on eBay.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_04]: I lived on Instagram.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_04]: And as many of y'all know, I think it's been what maybe almost six months now.
- 12:11[SPEAKER_04]: I haven't been on Instagram.
- 12:12[SPEAKER_04]: And honestly, that has been a blessing.
- 12:15[SPEAKER_04]: They kind of take that noise out of my life.
- 12:17[SPEAKER_04]: I do miss talk into some of the folks that are on there because there's some great people on there.
- 12:21[SPEAKER_04]: But it became a distraction for me.
- 12:23[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_04]: honestly, and I didn't want to look back on my life and go, man, I missed this moment of time with my kids or, you know, this thing I could have been doing here because of a piece of cardboard.
- 12:35[SPEAKER_04]: And honestly, that's the truth.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_04]: But I mean, I don't regret.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_04]: anything that we've done with the show.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_04]: It's been nothing but fun.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_04]: I just think that the dynamic of where we're heading with this is probably going to be and this is just where my feeling has been.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_04]: It's harder for me to come on the show and be the Bowman farmer and talk intelligently like I used to about every single Bowman card and prospect when I don't live it the way I used to.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_04]: Doesn't mean I'm not going to be able to bring perspective about the card industry or business or life or anything else.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_04]: I'm just, I don't feel like I'm the same source of knowledge that I want to was because I don't live it the same way.
- 13:17[SPEAKER_04]: And that's just the truth.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_01]: You know, guys, it's funny.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_01]: I think you hit the nail in the head there, but with the idea of like, we're not the same people we were 20 months ago, right?
- 13:26[SPEAKER_01]: And quite frankly, anybody listening to this show shouldn't be the same person either.
- 13:30[SPEAKER_01]: Because, you know, nature gives us this beautiful picture if you're not growing your Diane and people grow and things grow.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_01]: Season's change or whatever.
- 13:38[SPEAKER_01]: And what's funny is I have been someone who has been a student of
- 13:43[SPEAKER_01]: just reading and studying and, man, I was a sponge, you know, back in, gosh, my late teens, early 20s and stuff, just consuming every piece of like inspirational content and then it was like really heavy into studying the Bible and like religions and understanding that and doing all those different types of things.
- 14:00[SPEAKER_01]: But I kind of put that away and it's funny, after I wrote my book, I felt the pressure to try to build a brand to sell more copies of my book.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_01]: and I got so fed up with a social media world, I had a podcast myself that I did a radio show.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_01]: That was my background.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_01]: And I hung all that stuff up.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_01]: I gave up on all those dreams and fast forward after saying yes to kind of what I felt like was a Lord's voice in my life to get back into cards with my son.
- 14:27[SPEAKER_01]: now we have this podcast and it's everything that I would have ever wanted back in the day, you know, to have kind of a voice and to be able to be somebody that could help influence and encourage people and to have a microphone and a platform and to have a business as I said, in a way like this gave me everything I was looking for like in my 30s, but it came in an entirely different perspective, but the interesting piece is here recently.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_01]: I got back into a buddy of mine and told me about a book.
- 14:54[SPEAKER_01]: He said, hey, I've loved this thing.
- 14:55[SPEAKER_01]: You should check it out.
- 14:56[SPEAKER_01]: God's name's Jim Murphy.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_01]: And the book is called The Greatest Life Possible or something like that.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_01]: He was actually a baseball player.
- 15:03[SPEAKER_01]: And never lived out his dream of becoming a major league or really cool story.
- 15:07[SPEAKER_01]: But I'll cut to the chase.
- 15:09[SPEAKER_01]: In the book, he talks about the word passion.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_01]: Having the root of being willing to suffer.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_01]: If you have passion, that means you're willing to suffer for something.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 15:22[SPEAKER_01]: And he said, that's why athletes are great is because they're willing to suffer the pain of practice and the discipline and all this kind of stuff for something that they love.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_01]: And what's beautiful about this for us is like, you know, there was a time where the passion was there for the cards themselves or what up and that's kind of waned in a different seasons.
- 15:40[SPEAKER_01]: And so ultimately you're willing to suffer for the things that you love.
- 15:43[SPEAKER_01]: And that always evolves and that always moves and that always changes.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_01]: And this weekend's last thing I'll share.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_01]: And it's like the most fun thing that we use to do together is like go to car shows and he comes up with me The show is like bro, what's up with you?
- 15:58[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like what do you mean he's like you're just kind of and I was like yeah, man I am and it's like I love you dude, and I love nothing more than doing car shows with you But like I would just rather be home right now on a walk with my wife than sitting here at this table You know the mean you say my wife for your mom
- 16:20[SPEAKER_01]: But my point was it's like, and it was hard for him to kind of hear that, I think, and it was hard for him to kind of like receive that or whatever, but it's just a reality of like the moment that I'm in right now, you know what I mean?
- 16:30[SPEAKER_01]: And it goes back to that thing of passion.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_01]: And so I think the beauty of this show is we've always been honest with our listeners.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_01]: And I think our listeners get that.
- 16:38[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's why they continue to listen.
- 16:40[SPEAKER_01]: And so again, just this is an opportunity for us just to kind of be honest with that.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_01]: And at the same time, go,
- 16:46[SPEAKER_01]: but we're not leaving.
- 16:47[SPEAKER_01]: You know, not going anywhere.
- 16:48[SPEAKER_01]: The wisdom hasn't changed.
- 16:50[SPEAKER_01]: The passions may have shifted a little bit, but we're going to move and adapt and evolve with that as you should in life and business and continue to grow.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 16:58[SPEAKER_01]: Well said.
- 17:00[SPEAKER_01]: So, James.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_01]: James.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_01]: So, all of that said, boys, you know, here are my thoughts.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_01]: And I want to hear your thoughts, and you know, we've talked about this briefly, but, you know, the commitment to a weekly podcast is a big thing.
- 17:13[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know, we were at the national, and I talked to other podcasters, and they have production teams, and they've got scheduled plans of what they're talking about, and, you know, sheets, and all those different type of stuff.
- 17:25[SPEAKER_01]: the beauty of us is we've just turned on the microphones and we've been real and we've just chatted about it, you know, and so there hasn't been a lot of pressure.
- 17:31[SPEAKER_01]: This podcast, what a sucked if we did that.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I know.
- 17:36[SPEAKER_01]: And so the point being is that the authenticity is what makes it great.
- 17:40[SPEAKER_01]: And if the authenticity is what makes it great, then we have to be real with the changing authenticity, right?
- 17:46[SPEAKER_01]: So if the season of life is adapting, we have to adapt with it, and that's
- 17:51[SPEAKER_01]: people who listen, know who we are, they know our stories or whatever.
- 17:54[SPEAKER_01]: So that said, maybe one week little Matt and our jump on and we'll talk about what's real in the card market.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_01]: You know, maybe current you want to join us for that.
- 18:01[SPEAKER_01]: You know, current talks about some of your endeavors, which we can share more coming up.
- 18:05[SPEAKER_01]: You know, Bubba talking more about business and life and fatherhood and things like that.
- 18:09[SPEAKER_01]: And then
- 18:10[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe squaring all three of us up for a conversation about, you know, whatever's new in the market, but not having to have this kind of like ticking time bomb every week of the pressure of having to get the three of us on to have to have an episode out to have to keep up the content.
- 18:25[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's kind of where, you know, we want to see it move.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, look, I think the dynamic between three of us is not that life is evolved.
- 18:32[SPEAKER_03]: It's just different, you know, like we could get on here, talk for hours.
- 18:34[SPEAKER_03]: Don't get me wrong, right?
- 18:36[SPEAKER_03]: But like every week, it's not possible.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_03]: So like, I would love to be able to want to mount at least, right?
- 18:40[SPEAKER_03]: And so like, let's just say you and Matthew and have to put them out.
- 18:43[SPEAKER_03]: I come on, talk about the market because I still take pride in that.
- 18:47[SPEAKER_03]: And drill in that, it's still follow very closely.
- 18:49[SPEAKER_03]: I think I have to sow bubble comes on during the month and talks in, you know, he talks life and business and everything going on in there.
- 18:56[SPEAKER_03]: And then we set up an interview.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_03]: It'd be something they'll probably along those lines, I would say.
- 19:01[SPEAKER_03]: But like, for me personally, I'd like to be on one at least once in a month.
- 19:04[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_01]: Can we quickly talk about the Kevin McGonagal rookie the year?
- 19:11[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, can we go back and just tell everybody that we didn't we say this voice?
- 19:15[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I mean, there's a little bit of credibility.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, yeah.
- 19:18[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, it looked, it wasn't exactly a long, like a long shot or anything.
- 19:22[SPEAKER_03]: You know, it was kind of a shooting.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_03]: But can we talk about how Carson Ben should wouldn't look at the year in the NL?
- 19:27[SPEAKER_03]: I mean, he come on.
- 19:28[SPEAKER_03]: He's legit, too.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_01]: man.
- 19:31[SPEAKER_01]: It's funny when you go back though and you look at the things that we shared and kind of things we said.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like pretty respectful of our takes.
- 19:38[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 19:39[SPEAKER_01]: I think like I think there's some legit knowledge and wisdom that's been dropped up in here.
- 19:43[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm proud of that.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I can look back on that and go, you know what man?
- 19:47[SPEAKER_01]: I'm really proud of that.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_01]: Not just on the sports card front, but on the life front as well.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 19:52[SPEAKER_01]: And but but one of the things that's like so funny to me just with
- 19:59[SPEAKER_01]: you know what I mean as people and the friendship side of things and I'm sure you're seeing the same in me like that to me is what this is all about and like the relationship matters so much more than the ability to have you know a content stream right and so that is just something that I'm deeply grateful for both of you guys is just being able to have the friendship and the memories and just always to that part to continue and be you know the
- 20:28[SPEAKER_04]: Well, guys, I mean, the amount of time, and I mean, over the last three years, with both of you, the conversations, the text, the episodes.
- 20:37[SPEAKER_04]: We spent a lot of time together, guys.
- 20:39[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, maybe got him.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_04]: And in person, how much time will we spend together, like physically and presence together?
- 20:46[SPEAKER_04]: very little, you know, like in that, because we always have been, you know, current in North Korea and New York, Matt in North Carolina, me and Georgia.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_04]: And it is, our lives always have been that way, but we've always made that time.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_04]: And what's gets difficult is, as this phase of life has gone, you know, we don't all talk the same that we did, you know, I mean, life has been busy, man.
- 21:10[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, that's just
- 21:12[SPEAKER_04]: You know, I mean, we just don't.
- 21:14[SPEAKER_04]: And, you know, we're all so baseball fans.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_04]: I know that.
- 21:18[SPEAKER_04]: We mean, deep rooted all of us has started with an interest in, like, baseball.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_04]: We love baseball.
- 21:23[SPEAKER_04]: I still watch baseball.
- 21:24[SPEAKER_04]: You know, they've been all of y'all know what's going on in baseball.
- 21:28[SPEAKER_04]: We will all be involved with the playoffs and watching that.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_04]: I think we all still love sports cars.
- 21:33[SPEAKER_04]: Nothing is changed there.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_04]: It's just, it truly is a little different season.
- 21:37[SPEAKER_04]: And so I think us coming on, maybe being what we were.
- 21:41[SPEAKER_04]: It would just be a different flair, but I tell you it's an interesting dynamic of folks because we came up with the name CEOs because we were all CEOs in a business, right?
- 21:55[SPEAKER_04]: And that's still the case.
- 21:56[SPEAKER_04]: And what Kurn goes through in New York is completely different than what I go through in
- 22:03[SPEAKER_04]: but we're all raising families, we're all trying to run businesses, we're all trying to keep this balance in our life and we all love sports and baseball.
- 22:13[SPEAKER_04]: And I think that is the, that is still the scope of what this show was built upon.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_04]: It was at 1.100% all the time, Bowman Heavy.
- 22:23[SPEAKER_04]: I just think it's going to become a little less Bowman all the time than maybe what it was.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_04]: And
- 22:33[SPEAKER_04]: And a lot of our segments, you know, this started, I don't even remember when this started was this episode one guys that we started with how our week was or was that yeah, that was from the very beginning, that's always been the like yeah, I mean that that was what 20, that was a third of every episode, right, was kind of just catching up what's being gone in your world so that a third of who we are.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_04]: is not going to go away.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_04]: You're going to get filled in on what's going in our life.
- 23:02[SPEAKER_04]: What's important?
- 23:03[SPEAKER_04]: What, how's that impacting it?
- 23:05[SPEAKER_04]: I still envision there's going to be a lot of baseball conversation, like Kermsets, special guests.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_04]: And so I think there's still going to be that blend.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_04]: I think the other blend of
- 23:15[SPEAKER_04]: You know, and that that's the part I don't think we have always had the answer for is, you know, is is there gonna be maybe more of a boom and flare than I'm, that I'm anticipating that maybe there is?
- 23:25[SPEAKER_04]: I don't, but I think we go into season three going, hey, what we know we want to do is bring real content to you guys.
- 23:33[SPEAKER_04]: And that was always kind of like the rule from to get go with the three of us, if you all recall, like, I know I've said it a million times,
- 23:43[SPEAKER_04]: We don't need to do this show.
- 23:44[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, for sure.
- 23:45[SPEAKER_04]: And to me, I still feel that way.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I think that's one of the things that's really separated us, and that our listeners really attach to.
- 23:52[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 23:52[SPEAKER_01]: Like, again, you know, we have all developed very personal relationships with our listeners.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_01]: And, you know what I mean?
- 23:59[SPEAKER_01]: There's a real feeling there.
- 24:00[SPEAKER_01]: And again, we're not like, you know, stand-offish.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_01]: We're very approachable.
- 24:05[SPEAKER_01]: We answer people.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_01]: We talked about, you know what I'm saying?
- 24:07[SPEAKER_01]: Like, I've had phone calls with people.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 24:09[SPEAKER_01]: Personal calls, you know, all this kind of stuff.
- 24:11[SPEAKER_01]: And so, it's really interesting though, when you set out to do something, you know, to mean, to get lost in it.
- 24:16[SPEAKER_01]: And I think one of the things that's really, really interesting is there's a lot of people who get lost in call it celebrity call it success call it the flashing lights of you know the main kind of like the card industry where things are going you know the main and like I think one of the things for us is is if we ever did get lost in that we would be we'd have the balls enough to say it.
- 24:39[SPEAKER_01]: and i don't think any of us have i think we've just been really transparent about everything about this show and who we are in the midst of it i think it's been real and i think that's what's relatable so that part's not going away yeah i mean you know what right now we own one boom and card
- 24:55[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe a couple with Bubba with our business, but that's it.
- 24:59[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 25:00[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm not really looking at Bubba right now.
- 25:02[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 25:02[SPEAKER_01]: Does that mean that I don't like prospecting or baseball or Bubba?
- 25:06[SPEAKER_01]: No, it doesn't, but it's like I've done that.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know Matt this other day.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you all feel this way.
- 25:11[SPEAKER_01]: I think one of my greatest gifts and my greatest setbacks as as someone in some business or an entrepreneur would ever call it is I love new challenges.
- 25:22[SPEAKER_01]: But once I've done something, I do not want to do it again.
- 25:26[SPEAKER_01]: And I struggle to kind of keep things fresh and keep that passion fresh to kind of do the same thing over and over again.
- 25:32[SPEAKER_01]: I'll always need like a new endeavor, like a new challenge, like a new thing.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what makes me great.
- 25:37[SPEAKER_01]: I think in the ability to do a lot of different stuff, but it also is tough because there can be some, be diluted or some, do you ever struggle with that?
- 25:46[SPEAKER_01]: Of just like the consistency thing and always needing like a new challenge?
- 25:51[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, hundred percent.
- 25:53[SPEAKER_04]: I think that's what I'm saying like this phase of my life being content.
- 25:56[SPEAKER_04]: Honestly, I think current, you know, it is kind of a union episode.
- 26:01[SPEAKER_04]: I think if we were to write a book together, the name of the book would have been called the chase.
- 26:06[SPEAKER_04]: Honestly, because that's what it felt like.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_04]: Right.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_04]: And and we've talked about this.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_04]: Like it.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_04]: It's pretty cool whenever you do something in your life.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_04]: It doesn't matter if it's business or anything, but when you get to the top of a mountain, and we got to the top of a mountain when it came to Bowman.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_04]: And I think once we got to the top of a mountain, it was finally like, man, maybe we've left some other stuff.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_04]: You know, and that's how I felt.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_04]: And I think, you know, you know, you don't know if you felt the same way, but like, I finally got it got there and I was like,
- 26:41[SPEAKER_04]: Man, this was cool, but...
- 26:46[SPEAKER_04]: I'm spending incredibly too much time on this.
- 26:49[SPEAKER_04]: And I mean, like in, and, you know, in my wife, honestly, a saint that she is never said anything to me about it.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_04]: I mean, you know, my kids, I was still active.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_04]: I was coaching my kids, doing all of it.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_04]: But I think I just, it's allowed me to be able to become a different version of myself, not kind of having that time back.
- 27:09[SPEAKER_04]: And so maybe again, maybe that's part of what season three is.
- 27:15[SPEAKER_04]: we have seen what that's like.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_04]: And we've seen the good, the bad of this industry.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_04]: And there's a lot, we still have a lot to probably be able to unpack there on that journey because there's a lot of folks that get into this industry and it can be addictive.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_04]: It can be extremely addictive getting into cars.
- 27:35[SPEAKER_04]: And unfortunately, there is another side of this industry where people lose a lot of money.
- 27:40[SPEAKER_04]: It isn't always the good stories about, hey, I mean, I could tell you some stories right now about a, just by about 600 cards over here, I still need to get rid of that I'm going to lose my tea total ass on that I bought a long time ago, you know, and so it's just,
- 27:56[SPEAKER_04]: there is another story to this industry and there's there's always someone on the other end of a transaction when a card finally does start going down somebody did buy that card at a higher price you know that that all cards go to the moon when they do start to fall somebody paid that price and so I do think that is you know that's that's again being real I mean current like I say man I
- 28:21[SPEAKER_04]: what we did together i'll never forget i mean it was it was an amazing journey i mean because it was just like two driven people that just wanted uh... we wanted to win man yeah which is not a win on a screen it was yeah well win but i started collecting or i started collecting
- 28:40[SPEAKER_03]: I didn't sit there saying, like, I want to have the best Bowman collection ever, right?
- 28:46[SPEAKER_03]: Or like get every single best card.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_03]: But as we start to get going, my personality is just like win, win, win, win, win.
- 28:52[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm going to get every card that I want, you know what I mean?
- 28:56[SPEAKER_03]: And I'm going to win on that card.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_03]: And we went on this, no, like no joke.
- 29:00[SPEAKER_03]: Like there were nights where I didn't freak and sleep, you know?
- 29:02[SPEAKER_03]: Like I would be up to 3am watching Braves.
- 29:05[SPEAKER_03]: If somebody hits something, I was on it, you know?
- 29:08[SPEAKER_03]: I call public that I go we got it like this is that you know like it's when Connor hit you know It's what when I am there's some crazy like it was just the deal was done that night like just I was a top of it We were on top of it dude, you know and like I don't have the I don't have it in me anymore for that Yeah, yeah if I miss something I miss it, you know
- 29:26[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but this is taking me to do want to do different things other than just spend time on in breaks or on my phone and social and like this hobby is allowed me to move to other aspects of the hobby that I don't want to be that I want to be involved with now as opposed to the everyday searching.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_01]: Well, you know, guys, and I've got to run unfortunately on a time thing, but we could talk all night.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_01]: I love you guys sincerely.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_01]: I love you guys.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_01]: And I appreciate the heck out of the opportunity to do this podcast to our listeners.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_01]: I love you guys for those who take the time out of your weeks to listen.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_01]: All I ever hope to be is encouragement.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_01]: Hopefully bring some wisdom and some entertainment to our lives and some community because we all need it.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_01]: You know, I'll continue to do everything in my power to keep the show.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_01]: you know, moving in a good direction, keep your boys informed, continue to put content out there.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_01]: Like we said, it might look a bit different, but the hearts the same.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_01]: And I just wanted all of our listeners to hear that from the mouths of the three guys who stood, toe to toe with each other every week, kind of talking about the things that mattered to them.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_01]: And just want to say thank you guys to our listeners.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_01]: And thank you guys to you too.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_01]: I appreciate you guys both.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_03]: I appreciate you, but you guys too, when we're not going anywhere, but if it's a Wednesday here and there, we're not on, there's no, we're preparing for season 3 and things to change out a bit, but we're not going anywhere.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_03]: But I appreciate the hell out of you guys too.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_01]: Absolutely, Bubba.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_01]: Final thoughts.
- 30:51[SPEAKER_04]: Yeah man, like I say, it's been one hell of a journey and I've loved every second of it.
- 30:55[SPEAKER_04]: I really have.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_04]: And I'm looking forward to seeing what that next journey is.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_04]: Because it's not over.
- 31:02[SPEAKER_04]: It's just going to be a different journey.
- 31:05[SPEAKER_04]: And I'm excited to see what that holds.
- 31:06[SPEAKER_03]: I just want to say one last thing.
- 31:08[SPEAKER_03]: Thought it's got 300 acres of land that he owns and he's stuffed in a closet watching it doing his podcast.
- 31:16[SPEAKER_03]: I love a closet with a yeah, yeah, it doesn't that closet that is a nice that is a nice closet Yeah, it's a very nice Roomie it's a bubble closet.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_04]: It's a bubble closet.
- 31:27[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, well listen to our listeners appreciate you guys You boys be well and we'll talk soon.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_01]: Be sure
