- 2:22ahead and kick tonight's show off.
- 2:24All right.
- 2:25Again, a welcome to everyone.
- 2:27I really appreciate that.
- 2:28This is Inspirations for Your Life.
- 2:30This is Series 5, Show 10, Episode 7.
- 2:33We're talking all about momentum, action, and living
- 2:36deliberately this week.
- 2:37That's what it's all about.
- 2:38Who am I?
- 2:39Well, I'm John C.
- 2:40Morley, serial entrepreneur.
- 2:41And welcome to Inspirations for Your Life.
- 2:44I'm also an engineer, marketing specialist, video producer,
- 2:47podcast host, coach, keynote speaker, graduate student, and
- 2:50a passionate lifelong learner.
- 2:51And it is my privilege and pleasure to
- 2:53be here with you this evening.
- 2:54And pretty soon, I will be a published
- 2:55author.
- 2:56Really excited for that.
- 2:57So tonight, I'm diving into how consistent action,
- 3:02deliberate choices, and focused momentum create unstoppable success.
- 3:07Each thing that I'm sharing with you tonight
- 3:09is designed to help you take control of
- 3:10your time, your energy, and, of course, your
- 3:13outcomes.
- 3:14Now, transforming small actions into major achievements might
- 3:17not seem easy.
- 3:18But with consistency, it can be a lot
- 3:20easier than you thought.
- 3:23Momentum comes from consistent action.
- 3:25Number one, success isn't a burst.
- 3:28It's built one step at a time.
- 3:31Show up every day, no excuses.
- 3:32You know, it's not about showing up once,
- 3:34guys.
- 3:35It's about doing it every single day and
- 3:38doing it consistently.
- 3:40And so when we think about consistency and
- 3:42we think about showing up, there's a lot
- 3:45that's going on in our life if we
- 3:47can just understand, like, you know, what that
- 3:49is.
- 3:50And showing up is probably the hardest part
- 3:53for a lot of people.
- 3:54How do you show up?
- 3:58You know, what do you do?
- 4:00Especially when things are maybe not going the
- 4:01way that you expected them to go.
- 4:04I want to let you know that there
- 4:05are definitely some big benefits when you show
- 4:09up every single day in your life.
- 4:12So that's an important thing to understand.
- 4:16I think the more we understand that, the
- 4:17more that we can, well, be better for
- 4:20ourself and we can be better for others,
- 4:22right?
- 4:23I think that's a very important thing that
- 4:27a lot of people, again, don't realize.
- 4:29But it's something that you have the power
- 4:32to actually control.
- 4:39So that's interesting, guys.
- 4:41A very interesting thing.
- 4:43And I want to tell you that maybe
- 4:47you're saying to me, John, you know, this
- 4:49doesn't make sense.
- 4:51Maybe you don't know how to show up
- 4:52or why you should show up.
- 4:54I'm here to tell you, you definitely want
- 4:55to show up and you want to do
- 4:56it consistently every single day.
- 4:58Because if you don't do it consistently, you
- 5:02will find out that you're going to get
- 5:05depressed.
- 5:06You're going to find out that not only
- 5:07you're not going forward, but you're actually rocking
- 5:10backwards.
- 5:12Yeah.
- 5:13This happens because we haven't grown.
- 5:17And when we push ourselves just a little
- 5:19bit, not a lot, just a little bit
- 5:20past that envelope, then we can make some
- 5:23major, major differences.
- 5:25But it takes us to understand some stuff.
- 5:30And so showing up, again, is not the
- 5:35easiest thing for us to really understand.
- 5:40But we all have the power to show
- 5:42up in our lives.
- 5:44And so showing up is part of life.
- 5:50It's a big part of success.
- 5:51And if we don't understand that piece, then
- 5:54how can we ever go anywhere?
- 5:56How can we ever do anything?
- 5:58And I think that's a huge piece for
- 6:00a lot of people to understand.
- 6:03How do I become that new piece, that
- 6:06new thing?
- 6:07How do I do it?
- 6:08I think it all comes down to the
- 6:09fact that it comes down to our attitude.
- 6:11Yeah.
- 6:12It comes down to our attitude.
- 6:13And our attitude allows us to become a
- 6:17better version of ourselves.
- 6:18You've probably heard before the attitude of gratitude.
- 6:22So our attitude actually determines our altitude.
- 6:26Yes, that's key.
- 6:28Number two, guys, action converts ideas into results.
- 6:35Thoughts alone, they're not enough.
- 6:37Execution turns potential into measurable impact.
- 6:42Living deliberately multiplies effort.
- 6:45Conscious choices amplify the value of every minute
- 6:48you invest.
- 6:49Every minute, everything in life is consistent.
- 6:52Remember that, guys.
- 6:54Number four, avoid forbidden shortcuts.
- 6:58Instant gratification steals long-term gains.
- 7:01True success is earned steadily.
- 7:04Number five, momentum grows with focus.
- 7:07Energy scattered is energy wasted.
- 7:10Align actions to your priorities.
- 7:13Number six, action creates clarity.
- 7:16Movement breaks mental fog.
- 7:17Decisions become obvious when you act consistently.
- 7:23Number seven, guys, deliberate choices prevent reactive mistakes.
- 7:28Pause before responding and make choices that serve
- 7:31your goals.
- 7:33A lot of people make choices because of
- 7:35a potential windfall of money they think they're
- 7:40going to see.
- 7:41But really, they're acting out of non-integrity.
- 7:44And I think that's a serious, serious, serious
- 7:48problem.
- 7:49Number eight, guys, small actions compound daily steps.
- 8:00Accumulate into the results you'd never achieve in
- 8:04one giant leap.
- 8:06Number nine, avoid distractions that break momentum.
- 8:10Social media, emails, and unplanned tasks can derail
- 8:15consistent progress in your life.
- 8:17So it's important, guys, that you learn right
- 8:20now how to guard your time.
- 8:23I'm saying this because time has a way
- 8:26of just eroding.
- 8:29And that's something that a lot of people
- 8:31don't really understand.
- 8:34Your time is precious, guys.
- 8:37Treasure it.
- 8:38Number 10, routines accelerate forward motion.
- 8:43Habits are the engine of momentum.
- 8:47Create routines that automate success in your life.
- 8:52And that's important.
- 8:55Using systems, creating routines, we can become better
- 8:59versions of ourself.
- 9:01But the choice is not a one-time
- 9:05choice.
- 9:06It's something we have to keep adapting to
- 9:07in life.
- 9:08And the more we adapt to it, the
- 9:10more that we can say, wait a minute.
- 9:12You know what?
- 9:12I think I understand this now.
- 9:15I think I know why something is going
- 9:17a different way.
- 9:18And it's because of an action or one
- 9:22that we didn't take, OK?
- 9:27That's an interesting caveat, an action that we
- 9:31take or an action that we don't take.
- 9:36Number 11, action reinforces confidence.
- 9:41Every completed step builds belief in your ability
- 9:45to execute on bigger goals.
- 9:49But it all starts with a belief, guys.
- 9:51That's where it starts.
- 9:52It starts with one belief.
- 9:54And that belief has the ability to domino
- 9:57down and help us into other areas of
- 9:59our life.
- 9:59So that's a really important thing to understand.
- 10:03And it's key in every area of our
- 10:04life.
- 10:09I think a lot of people do things
- 10:12not because they should, only because they can.
- 10:21I think a lot of people today, for
- 10:24whatever reason, they get confused because of the
- 10:28moment that they are in.
- 10:30The moment that they're in creates this, I'll
- 10:34call it an illusion.
- 10:35Probably the best way to say it, it's
- 10:37an illusion.
- 10:38And this illusion gives us misinformation, information that
- 10:43probably is being, in all honesty, it's being
- 10:47distorted.
- 10:50It's being distorted because somebody wants to make
- 10:53a fast buck, et cetera.
- 10:56Number 12, guys, deliberate living reduces stress.
- 11:01When your choices are intentional, uncertainty and overwhelm
- 11:06decreases.
- 11:09Now, that might not seem like it happens
- 11:11overnight, but it does happen.
- 11:13And it can definitely work.
- 11:15But it's about consistency.
- 11:18It's about integrity.
- 11:20Anything that you push forward without a good
- 11:23foundation, guess what's going to happen?
- 11:24It's going to fall apart.
- 11:29It's going to fall apart.
- 11:31And that's something I think a lot of
- 11:33people just don't seem to get.
- 11:37Yeah, we start out with good stuff, good
- 11:39ingredients.
- 11:40We have a great thing in our life,
- 11:45right?
- 11:45We have a very great thing.
- 11:48And that great thing is something a lot
- 11:53of people, they just don't understand.
- 11:57They understand the world.
- 11:59They don't understand a lot of things.
- 12:03And that's an important piece.
- 12:06And that piece is the fact that a
- 12:08lot of people get stuck because of what
- 12:14society tells them.
- 12:16Now, what society tells them could be right,
- 12:19could be wrong.
- 12:20Half the times, guys, I got to be
- 12:21honest with you, it's usually wrong.
- 12:24Yeah.
- 12:25And it's wrong because of a purposeful intention
- 12:30to mislead you.
- 12:32All right?
- 12:33That's pretty bad when that happens.
- 12:36But it does happen.
- 12:38And I think a lot of people try
- 12:40to just, they try to move forward with
- 12:43it.
- 12:43But it's not always the best thing for
- 12:46everyone involved, right?
- 12:48I always said you have to do something
- 12:50for the greater good of all parties involved.
- 12:52If you don't do something like that, then
- 12:55it becomes a mess, guys.
- 12:58It becomes basically a, let's say, a trial
- 13:05for power.
- 13:09A trial for power.
- 13:11And that trial for power is not something
- 13:14that a lot of people really understand.
- 13:18All they know, guys, is that it's happening.
- 13:21And the fact that it's happening now is
- 13:24something, again, that a lot of people, they
- 13:26just don't get it, okay?
- 13:31And by getting it, I mean, they just
- 13:34don't understand.
- 13:37And so if we knew what that was,
- 13:41right?
- 13:42Or we knew why somebody was doing something,
- 13:45maybe that would change something for us, like
- 13:47maybe.
- 13:48But a lot of times, we're going by
- 13:51peer pressure.
- 13:52We're going by the crowd.
- 13:53And that crowd, guys, is after one thing.
- 13:57You know what that is?
- 13:58It's after money.
- 13:59They don't care who they lie to, who
- 14:03they mislead.
- 14:05Because with them, it's all about the bottom
- 14:08line.
- 14:08It's about the dollar, okay?
- 14:11It's about the dollar.
- 14:13And it being, let's say, not a legion
- 14:17to you or being disrespectful to you, it's
- 14:20going to get them to yield more money.
- 14:21Guess what they're going to do?
- 14:22They're going to be disrespectful to you.
- 14:25I mean, that's how it works.
- 14:27I mean, that's the truth, guys.
- 14:30Number 13, avoid forbidden paths.
- 14:33Don't chase shortcuts that compromise your integrity, your
- 14:35health, or your long-term outcomes.
- 14:37Even though I hear people saying, oh, it'd
- 14:40be a lot easier to do that.
- 14:41No, it's going to cost you more in
- 14:43the long run.
- 14:44Number 14, momentum requires resilience.
- 14:47Challenges will arise.
- 14:48Persistence keeps you moving when others just stop
- 14:51cold.
- 14:53Number 15, guys, actions strengthen discipline.
- 14:58Every decision to act reinforces your capacity to
- 15:01stay on track.
- 15:03Number 16, deliberate living clarifies priorities.
- 15:08Conscious alignment shows what truly deserves your energy.
- 15:13Yeah.
- 15:15Number 17, guys, avoid shortcuts, undermining goals.
- 15:21Quick fixes may seem tempting.
- 15:23But in the long run, they often slow
- 15:25the long-term progress.
- 15:27And they also may derail you.
- 15:29It could cause you to go backwards.
- 15:31And that's not something that's pretty to talk
- 15:34about.
- 15:37But these things are happening.
- 15:40Number 18, guys, number 18, momentum builds belief
- 15:43and vision.
- 15:44Each forward step proves to yourself your vision
- 15:48is achievable.
- 15:51Number 19, action ensures accountability.
- 15:54Results come from measurable effort, not intention alone.
- 15:58So intention and core values are important.
- 16:02But they're not everything.
- 16:04We have to realize that it's kind of
- 16:09a puzzle to getting this to work.
- 16:11You can't just have one piece.
- 16:13You need the entire ensemble.
- 16:16Or you can't discover what the picture is
- 16:18in the puzzle.
- 16:20Number 20, guys, living deliberately creates authority.
- 16:24When you consistently execute, others naturally trust your
- 16:27expertise.
- 16:28But this does not happen on day one.
- 16:34A lot of people are hemming and hawing.
- 16:37I've said to you this before.
- 16:38No one wants to join when the train
- 16:44is safely in the station or when the
- 16:46airplane is safely in the hangar or on
- 16:48the runway.
- 16:49They risk their lives to be part of
- 16:52something when it's moving at light speed.
- 16:55That just tells me people don't want to
- 16:57be part of development.
- 16:59They want to just show up.
- 17:03That's a little selfish, if you ask me.
- 17:06It's a little selfish.
- 17:07Number 21, avoid energy-draining behaviors.
- 17:14Protect focus by cutting the activities and the
- 17:19people that deplete rather than build you.
- 17:23You get people like this every day.
- 17:25It could be your neighbors.
- 17:26It could be even some friends.
- 17:28When they deplete you and your energy goes
- 17:31to zero, you're useless.
- 17:35There's not too much you can do.
- 17:39So be mindful of the fuel you have
- 17:43and monitor it.
- 17:45Because if something gets out of whack, that
- 17:47means you need to change something, okay?
- 17:51Like change the people you hang around with.
- 17:54Number 22, guys, momentum compounds through wins.
- 18:00Celebrate those small victories.
- 18:02They create the snowball effect toward major success.
- 18:07They don't happen overnight, but they build over
- 18:11time, just like a very tiny little snowball.
- 18:14Slowly gets bigger, bigger, bigger, bigger, bigger, bigger,
- 18:17bigger.
- 18:17And before you know it, you have this
- 18:18huge boulder of a snowball that evolves over
- 18:23time.
- 18:27Number 23, guys, action aligns energy with values.
- 18:31When your work reflects your principles, momentum flows
- 18:35effortlessly.
- 18:41Principles aren't aligned with what you're doing.
- 18:48That's when the magic happens, guys.
- 18:50You have to be in alignment.
- 18:55Number 24, guys, deliberate choices strengthen identity.
- 19:00Every decision reinforces who you are and what
- 19:04you stand for.
- 19:05And I said before, it doesn't matter so
- 19:07much what you're doing.
- 19:10A lot of times in public, it sometimes
- 19:12matters what you're doing in private, right?
- 19:24That's a key, guys.
- 19:32And if you know this one thing about
- 19:42being intentional, about alignment, about knowing your decisions,
- 19:46about reinforcing who you are and knowing how
- 19:49you show up, only then, guys, can you
- 19:55start making change.
- 19:56You don't make change overnight.
- 19:59You make change over consistent evolvement, steady evolvement.
- 20:09And when something's steady, you keep moving forward
- 20:14every single day.
- 20:20But lots of people out there make the
- 20:23decision they think other people want them to
- 20:26take.
- 20:27It's not the one in line with their
- 20:29best interest or even the other person's best
- 20:31interest.
- 20:32It's the one that appears to be fake.
- 20:34It's the one that's after, that's right, the
- 20:38other person's possessions.
- 20:40Number 25, guys, avoid distractions eroding progress.
- 20:45Maintain a laser zone around high-impact tasks.
- 20:49And decisions, don't just fire off an answer
- 20:52because you think you got to make a
- 20:53decision.
- 20:54If you make the wrong decision, that can
- 21:00be very costly, extremely costly.
- 21:02So be careful when you're making certain decisions.
- 21:06Number 26, guys, momentum transforms effort into confidence.
- 21:10Each step forward reinforces your belief in your
- 21:14ability to achieve.
- 21:16So our achievement comes from a mindset.
- 21:19The mindset allows us to propel forward with
- 21:23discipline and endurance.
- 21:27That's how that works.
- 21:28Number 27, guys, action maintains movement through challenges.
- 21:37Right?
- 21:38You keep moving, you get out of the
- 21:40challenge.
- 21:41You stop, then the challenge is still around
- 21:45you.
- 21:47Consistent motion keeps you ahead, even when obstacles
- 21:51disappear right before your very eyes.
- 21:56Keep moving, you keep progressing, you're closer to
- 22:01success.
- 22:04Number 28, guys, deliberate living ensures impact.
- 22:10Thoughtful action creates outcomes that matter, not just
- 22:13the activity.
- 22:14Again, I know a lot of people that
- 22:15do activities and like, oh, I'm successful, not
- 22:19just because you did an activity.
- 22:20I said before on another episode, just because
- 22:23you're busy doesn't mean you're going to be
- 22:25successful.
- 22:27That's an illusion that a lot of people
- 22:29have got the notion of that's true.
- 22:33It's not true.
- 22:35Nope, not true.
- 22:40Number 29, guys, avoid shortcuts that compromise integrity.
- 22:48True success never comes at the cost of
- 22:51your values.
- 22:53If it does, it's time to reevaluate your
- 22:57decisions and what success is meaning for you.
- 23:00Because you're walking into a trap.
- 23:07Maybe one you won't see today or tomorrow
- 23:10or next month, this quarter, even this year,
- 23:14but you're walking into a trap.
- 23:17And by the time you figure it out,
- 23:18it'll be too late, it'll be too costly.
- 23:23Number 30, guys, momentum plus action plus deliberate
- 23:27living equals unstoppable success.
- 23:30Let me say that a couple of times
- 23:32again.
- 23:32Momentum plus action plus deliberate living equals unstoppable
- 23:38success.
- 23:39Momentum plus action plus deliberate living equals unstoppable
- 23:45success.
- 23:47Remember, guys, success minus combining these three principles.
- 23:55And well, nothing can stop you.
- 24:03Success is not an illusion.
- 24:08Success is not something you do because you
- 24:11want to impress somebody.
- 24:14Success is something you do so you can
- 24:15have a better life.
- 24:20I said it before, you can either survive,
- 24:23which a lot of you are doing in
- 24:24life, or you can thrive.
- 24:26When you thrive, you obviously survive.
- 24:28And life is a lot easier for you
- 24:30when you learn how to thrive.
- 24:40Surviving, just breathing, just going through the motions,
- 24:44but not really enjoying life, no.
- 24:50You're like on a merry-go-round.
- 24:53You're spinning, right?
- 24:55You know you're spinning, but you're not really
- 24:57enjoying the ride.
- 24:58You're not taking in maybe the scenery you're
- 25:00seeing.
- 25:01This is not a roller coaster.
- 25:02You're not taking in that scenery.
- 25:07I know a lot of people go through
- 25:08life every day.
- 25:09They go through the motions.
- 25:11And then they're unhappy because they're not where
- 25:14they want to be just because they're going
- 25:18through the motions.
- 25:19They haven't really done anything of value, but
- 25:22they're going through the motions.
- 25:24The motions are basically half-baked for them.
- 25:28That's very important, guys.
- 25:30Some people do things consistently, but they don't
- 25:33do them with their full heart in place.
- 25:40Heart adds character.
- 25:43Character develops, you ready, ladies and gentlemen, your
- 25:47integrity.
- 25:51So ladies and gentlemen, if you want to

- 26:30I've said this many times before.
- 26:33We have to practice becoming grateful because when
- 26:36we do, more things in our life will
- 26:38show up that we can become grateful for.
- 26:43More things will show up in our life
- 26:44that we can become grateful for.
- 26:50If we think about momentum, and we think
- 26:57about the fact that momentum is needed to
- 27:01keep something in motion.
- 27:03We've learned this from Einstein.
- 27:06If we keep something in motion, it stays
- 27:10in motion until either A, it runs out
- 27:13of fuel or gas, supply source, or we
- 27:20learn that it runs out of energy, or
- 27:25maybe something hits it.
- 27:28And that caused it to stop.
- 27:30So those are important things, guys.
