- 0:20Speaker 1: with us today. You guys know her as an author,
- 0:22Speaker 1: a songwriter, a speaker, and media personality. We're going to
- 0:25Speaker 1: be talking about all of that today. She has a
- 0:27Speaker 1: very busy rest of this year coming up. She has
- 0:30Speaker 1: an anthology that she's putting together. She has some new
- 0:33Speaker 1: resources she's going to be putting out for people who
- 0:35Speaker 1: are looking to be able to create their own music.
- 0:38Speaker 1: But also she's going to be helping you all to
- 0:40Speaker 1: understand how she's using her platform, both with the Kate
- 0:42Speaker 1: Thurman Show and Graceful Gatherings with.
- 0:44Speaker 2: The Thurmans with her husband, Chris. to be able to.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Amplify the voices of others. If you're not staying connected
- 0:50Speaker 1: with Kate, we'll let you all know how to be
- 0:51Speaker 1: able to do that.
- 0:52Speaker 2: But, Kate, welcome back to the broadcast.
- 0:54Speaker 3: Thank you for having me, Cyrus. You know, it's always
- 0:57Speaker 3: a pleasure.
- 0:57Speaker 4: I'm super excited to be here with you.
- 1:00Speaker 1: Oh, look, the pleasure is definitely all mine, Kate. Always
- 1:02Speaker 1: great to be able to have you on as well. So, Kate,
- 1:04Speaker 1: as I mentioned, a lot is happening.
- 1:06Speaker 2: In your neck of the woods right now, ma'am.
- 1:08Speaker 1: As I mentioned, you have the show, you have the
- 1:11Speaker 1: Kate Thurman Show, which we also air on Conversations Radio Network.
- 1:15Speaker 1: You have Graceful Gatherings with the Thurmans that.
- 1:17Speaker 2: You co-host with your husband, Chris. You also, of course,
- 1:20Speaker 2: have the.
- 1:20Speaker 1: Book, Be Beyond the Tears, and an anthology that you're
- 1:23Speaker 1: working on as well. And then, of course, as I mentioned,
- 1:25Speaker 1: helping other people when it comes to songwriting and producing music.
- 1:29Speaker 1: What has that been like for you, Kate, to be
- 1:31Speaker 1: able to have all these different things that you love
- 1:33Speaker 1: doing and to be able to share them with all
- 1:35Speaker 1: of us?
- 1:36Speaker 5: It's been good.
- 1:39Speaker 4: First of all, realizing that I was as gifted as
- 1:42Speaker 4: I was and not taking it for granted. I knew
- 1:45Speaker 4: those things that I could do, but realizing that I
- 1:48Speaker 4: could use those things to help people, which is one
- 1:51Speaker 4: of the main things I really love to do is
- 1:52Speaker 4: help people. And, you know, that brings me joy. So
- 1:57Speaker 4: to answer your question, it brings me a lot of
- 2:00Speaker 4: joy to see the things that God has blessed me
- 2:03Speaker 4: with and to be able to help others with that.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 2:07Speaker 1: So let's talk about that, Kate, because I think for
- 2:10Speaker 1: a lot of people, and I have to be honest
- 2:13Speaker 1: and say for myself, I was included in that number
- 2:15Speaker 1: at one time. A lot of times we know we
- 2:17Speaker 1: want to do something, but it's the idea, okay, can
- 2:21Speaker 1: I do it? And what will people think? How did
- 2:24Speaker 1: you get to a place where you realized God had
- 2:27Speaker 1: given you these gifts and it was really up to
- 2:28Speaker 1: you to be able to use them?
- 2:31Speaker 4: You know, I used to be one of those, you know,
- 2:35Speaker 4: you know, my story about being bullied and feeling like
- 2:38Speaker 4: no one wanted.
- 2:38Speaker 3: To hear what I had to say.
- 2:39Speaker 4: I had to get to a place mentally because at
- 2:43Speaker 4: first I was I always wondered and thought about what
- 2:47Speaker 4: other people would think of me. I always felt like
- 2:50Speaker 4: I'm being judged if I do this, if I don't
- 2:52Speaker 4: say something right or if I don't do something right
- 2:54Speaker 4: that I'm going to be torn down. Now I had
- 2:58Speaker 4: to realize.
- 2:58Speaker 3: That getting to this place where I am now.
- 3:01Speaker 4: I'm just doing it because God gave it to me,
- 3:03Speaker 4: and I'm not supposed to hold on to what he
- 3:05Speaker 4: gave me. I'm supposed to help others with this. I
- 3:09Speaker 4: can't be selfish because now I realize if I'm just
- 3:12Speaker 4: holding on to this, I'm just being selfish.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Yeah, right. And you have so many different gifts, and honestly, Kate,
- 3:19Speaker 1: gifts I didn't even know about when I first met you, right?
- 3:22Speaker 1: Because when you and I initially connected, if you remember,
- 3:24Speaker 1: it was because you were part of an anthology and
- 3:27Speaker 1: i'm bringing that up because now here you are in
- 3:30Speaker 1: 2026 spearheading your own anthology what has that experience been
- 3:34Speaker 1: like for you to share a bit of your own
- 3:37Speaker 1: story in an anthology in the beginning and now to
- 3:40Speaker 1: not only have your book out beauty beyond the tears
- 3:42Speaker 1: but also helping other people to share their stories through
- 3:45Speaker 1: your own anthology oh.
- 3:47Speaker 4: My that is that is um i think that's the
- 3:50Speaker 4: most exciting part well it's one of the most exciting.
- 3:53Speaker 3: Parts of this year um.
- 3:56Speaker 4: Releasing Beauty Beyond the Tears, Find the Strength After Loss
- 3:58Speaker 4: in 2025, that was a very trying time for me,
- 4:04Speaker 4: but it was something that I had to do.
- 4:07Speaker 5: It was, I had to release that book and write
- 4:10Speaker 5: that book in the.
- 4:11Speaker 4: Midst of my storm, after the miscarriages and after so
- 4:15Speaker 4: many losses. So also in that, when God gave me
- 4:18Speaker 4: the vision, I knew it wasn't time.
- 4:20Speaker 3: To do that anthology then, but I knew that.
- 4:23Speaker 5: It was coming.
- 4:25Speaker 4: And doing Beauty Beyond the Tears, now is time. Because
- 4:29Speaker 4: Beauty Beyond the Tears, from Tears to Triumph, the Women
- 4:32Speaker 4: Healing Anthology, this is to continue to help people, to
- 4:36Speaker 4: continue on the mission, to continue on the journey of
- 4:39Speaker 4: helping others. And it's so many different beautiful women that
- 4:43Speaker 4: have different stories that they are going to put in
- 4:46Speaker 4: the anthology to help women. You know, everything, again, it
- 4:49Speaker 4: goes back to everything, doing everything to help others, to
- 4:52Speaker 4: help people, you know, get past the pain and the
- 4:55Speaker 4: hurt or whatever adversities in life that you may have.
- 5:00Speaker 4: And I'm just excited to be able to go from
- 5:03Speaker 4: the first anthology. I was in someone else's anthology to
- 5:05Speaker 4: spearhead my own anthology to, to help people heal and
- 5:10Speaker 4: walk in what God called them to do.
- 5:12Speaker 5: It's just, it's amazing.
- 5:14Speaker 1: And it's been great to be able to watch. And
- 5:16Speaker 1: that's why I really look at it. Kate is a
- 5:18Speaker 1: full circle moment because again, that's how you and I
- 5:20Speaker 1: initially met each other was because of that anthology.
- 5:23Speaker 3: Right.
- 5:23Speaker 1: And then, I mean, and then, of course, I was
- 5:25Speaker 1: able to find out about Graceful Gatherings with Mr. Thurman,
- 5:28Speaker 1: the show that you have with your husband, Chris Thurman,
- 5:30Speaker 1: who also became an author this year. And then, of course,
- 5:34Speaker 1: you have your own solo show, The Kate Thurman Show.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Talk to us about that experience because, I mean, it's
- 5:39Speaker 1: one thing for you to be able to have your husband,
- 5:42Speaker 1: your significant other there with you co-hosting a show. What
- 5:45Speaker 1: has it been like for you now to be solo
- 5:47Speaker 1: hosting your own program?
- 5:49Speaker 3: I'm excited about that.
- 5:51Speaker 5: You know.
- 5:52Speaker 4: When Chris and I started with Grace for Gathering, you know,
- 5:54Speaker 4: you know the story. I think we told you the
- 5:56Speaker 4: story a couple of times how I told him, you know, hey,
- 5:58Speaker 4: I was going to do another show. And I said, well, hey,
- 6:03Speaker 4: you know, they said that we can do a show, too,
- 6:05Speaker 4: to have as many shows.
- 6:07Speaker 3: And he's like, oh, OK.
- 6:09Speaker 4: So I was like, yeah, you know, we're going to
- 6:10Speaker 4: do Grace for Gathering with the Thurmans, you and I.
- 6:12Speaker 3: He said, wait, huh?
- 6:14Speaker 4: And so it was kind of like it was he said, wait, wait,
- 6:18Speaker 4: we didn't.
- 6:18Speaker 5: Talk about that.
- 6:19Speaker 3: So I believe that's what the Lord want us to do.
- 6:21Speaker 5: Go play about it.
- 6:22Speaker 4: And so, but then, you know, when we came up
- 6:28Speaker 4: with my amazing publicist, you know, said, Kate, you're an
- 6:33Speaker 4: amazing person. You should think about, you.
- 6:35Speaker 5: Know, doing your own show.
- 6:36Speaker 3: And Chris wasn't going to let me drag him into that.
- 6:39Speaker 5: He said, uh-uh, he said, you.
- 6:41Speaker 6: Right, right, right.
- 6:44Speaker 4: So when you, when the idea of the Kate Thurman
- 6:47Speaker 4: show came about at first, I was like, can I
- 6:49Speaker 4: do this on my own? Cause you know, it was
- 6:50Speaker 4: two shows, the Graceful Gathers and the other show that
- 6:54Speaker 4: I was a co-host with someone. This is the first
- 6:57Speaker 4: time I'm doing one by myself. I'm like, I don't
- 7:00Speaker 4: have anyone to, you know, fall back on if I
- 7:02Speaker 4: stumble or something.
- 7:03Speaker 3: But it worked out great. I love it.
- 7:06Speaker 5: I love doing it.
- 7:07Speaker 4: Um, because it's your show and you just, it's just
- 7:10Speaker 4: a relaxing conversation that we have on a Kate Thurman show.
- 7:14Speaker 4: And that's how we do it on the Kate Thurman
- 7:16Speaker 4: Show because I want to be comfortable just like I
- 7:18Speaker 4: want the guests to be comfortable.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Right, right.
- 7:22Speaker 2: And, Kate, let me say this about you.
- 7:25Speaker 1: And for people who know you, I think they would
- 7:27Speaker 1: agree with me, and people who are on the radio
- 7:28Speaker 1: side know that I don't just say things no matter
- 7:31Speaker 1: who it is.
- 7:32Speaker 2: I have such respect for you.
- 7:35Speaker 1: I have, you know, really when I look at you
- 7:39Speaker 1: and think of all that you're able to do, I
- 7:41Speaker 1: mean– I had no doubt that you could do it.
- 7:45Speaker 1: But again, like you said, it's really about us believing
- 7:47Speaker 1: in ourselves and realizing. And then, too, thinking about you've
- 7:51Speaker 1: interviewed MC Light. You've interviewed Melba Moore. You know, this
- 7:54Speaker 1: is not like you were new to this by the
- 7:58Speaker 1: time you got to the Kate Thurman show.
- 8:00Speaker 6: So, I mean, so I knew you could do it.
- 8:02Speaker 1: It's just about you believing in yourself. I want to
- 8:04Speaker 1: talk about the other side of that, Kate, because you
- 8:06Speaker 1: also are showing others. What can happen when they believe
- 8:10Speaker 1: in themselves and bet on themselves? How does that feel
- 8:13Speaker 1: to know that by your example, you're being able to
- 8:17Speaker 1: inspire other people?
- 8:19Speaker 4: That was, for me, I teach myself. I think I
- 8:25Speaker 4: tell you this all the time when we talk, just
- 8:28Speaker 4: knowing that I'm someone. Because you think about, you go
- 8:31Speaker 4: from feeling like nobody wants to hear what you have
- 8:34Speaker 4: to say and, you know, now you're the person. So
- 8:38Speaker 4: I would go to these conferences or go places and shrink.
- 8:44Speaker 4: And now when I'm the one either on the panel
- 8:48Speaker 4: or I'm spearheading the conference and helping people along the way,
- 8:55Speaker 4: it makes me feel good because I feel like I
- 8:58Speaker 4: am truly, truly walking in my purpose. There is nothing,
- 9:01Speaker 4: if someone came up to me tomorrow and said, or
- 9:04Speaker 4: today and said, Well.
- 9:05Speaker 5: You're not doing nothing.
- 9:06Speaker 3: I'm going to tell you a lie.
- 9:07Speaker 5: I know I'm doing a lot.
- 9:11Speaker 4: Well, and Kate, five years ago, if you said that,
- 9:14Speaker 4: I would have shrank again.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:16Speaker 5: Yes, I'm not doing that anymore.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:19Speaker 5: No.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Yeah, as you shouldn't, because you are doing a whole lot,
- 9:23Speaker 1: and you're doing more than two or three people sometimes
- 9:26Speaker 1: combined together.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Which is another story.
- 9:29Speaker 1: We won't get into that today. But I do want
- 9:33Speaker 1: to say, Kate, the other thing, though, that you did
- 9:36Speaker 1: that was so surprising, and in fact, depending on when
- 9:39Speaker 1: our audience is listening to this conversation, they're hearing one
- 9:42Speaker 1: of those songs right now on social media, you've been
- 9:45Speaker 1: able to introduce Kate Thurman, the songwriter. Now, again, this
- 9:48Speaker 1: was brand new to me, but you kind of find
- 9:52Speaker 1: out in talking with you, music has always been a
- 9:55Speaker 1: part of your life.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Talk to us about.
- 9:56Speaker 1: That experience of introducing yourself as Kay Thurman, the songwriter.
- 10:01Speaker 3: You know, it goes back to that same story.
- 10:05Speaker 4: Shrunk myself. I was a little girl and all the
- 10:08Speaker 4: Whitney Houston songs, I was singing them. And then I
- 10:11Speaker 4: was singing in a choir.
- 10:12Speaker 3: I had such.
- 10:13Speaker 4: Confidence until, you know, kids my age who.
- 10:16Speaker 3: Couldn't do what I could do.
- 10:18Speaker 4: Talked about me and picked at me and made me shrink.
- 10:21Speaker 4: So I hear my voice and I'm going to tell
- 10:23Speaker 4: you this for the first time. I don't know if
- 10:24Speaker 4: I told you on it before, but I think I
- 10:27Speaker 4: lost my voice at a long time ago, meaning singing wise.
- 10:32Speaker 4: At one point I felt like I even said, I
- 10:34Speaker 4: thank God took my voice away from me and he
- 10:38Speaker 4: did it right. It was me. I, You know what
- 10:43Speaker 4: they say, if you don't use it, you'll lose it?
- 10:45Speaker 2: Right, right.
- 10:46Speaker 4: Because I stopped singing for a long time.
- 10:51Speaker 3: I stopped.
- 10:51Speaker 4: This is the very first time I'm saying this publicly.
- 10:54Speaker 4: I stopped singing because I felt like, again, no one
- 11:00Speaker 4: wanted to hear me. No one cared about what I
- 11:04Speaker 4: had to say via.
- 11:05Speaker 5: Song, books, whatever. So when I started.
- 11:08Speaker 4: Doing everything else that I'm doing, the book and telling
- 11:11Speaker 4: my story, this is a part of me. This is
- 11:13Speaker 4: a part of my journey. Writing the songs and having
- 11:16Speaker 4: something to say lyrically is a part of me. So
- 11:19Speaker 4: I wanted to make sure that I shared that because
- 11:23Speaker 4: someone told me when I wrote a book, The Beauty
- 11:26Speaker 4: Beyond the Tears.
- 11:27Speaker 3: They said, I don't really like to read that much.
- 11:28Speaker 4: We were just having a casual conversation. And what I
- 11:32Speaker 4: heard in there, she was like, but do you have
- 11:34Speaker 4: your book on Audible? And I was like, well, no,
- 11:36Speaker 4: we'll probably put it on there. And she was like, well,
- 11:40Speaker 4: you know, sometimes someone else.
- 11:42Speaker 3: Said the same thing. I like to listen to music.
- 11:44Speaker 5: And I'm like, you can tell stories in a song.
- 11:48Speaker 3: And so, you know, that's what happened.
- 11:50Speaker 4: I called my publicist and talked to my husband.
- 11:53Speaker 3: I was like, hey, I want to do this. Even
- 11:55Speaker 3: though you guys were like, there's something else you want
- 11:57Speaker 3: to do, Kay. Yeah.
- 12:01Speaker 5: But I love it. I love writing.
- 12:04Speaker 4: Music and helping people tell their story through songs.
- 12:08Speaker 2: Right.
- 12:09Speaker 1: And you've been able to do that, Kate, and starting off,
- 12:12Speaker 1: of course, with your own.
- 12:13Speaker 2: Now, you know, here's the thing.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Now, that's not my gift. You know, I tell people,
- 12:17Speaker 1: you know, I'm one of these people who I say
- 12:21Speaker 1: to people the things I know, I know the things
- 12:23Speaker 1: I don't, I don't, and I stay in the lanes
- 12:26Speaker 1: that God has given me. In other lanes, I gracefully
- 12:30Speaker 1: leave for people. That's their thing. Singing has never been
- 12:33Speaker 1: my gift.
- 12:34Speaker 2: Dancing has never been my gift.
- 12:36Speaker 1: Songwriting, even though I write poetry, has never been something
- 12:39Speaker 1: I think about. But what has that been like for
- 12:41Speaker 1: you to have come up with the words, being able
- 12:44Speaker 1: to come up with these songs, and then to be
- 12:45Speaker 1: able to hear them, not only just on social media
- 12:48Speaker 1: where people can use them like I did today, Kate,
- 12:51Speaker 1: use them in a reel, but also purchase them on
- 12:54Speaker 1: sites like Amazon Music?
- 12:56Speaker 4: Oh, that, that, that feels good. I'm like, oh man,
- 13:00Speaker 4: you know, and, and the being able to do it
- 13:02Speaker 4: via AI is such, it's so much easier versus you
- 13:07Speaker 4: having to go in the studio and record. So that's amazing.
- 13:10Speaker 4: Being able to know that people can buy my music.
- 13:13Speaker 4: I can sit here and it takes me about a
- 13:14Speaker 4: good week or so to put everything together after, after
- 13:18Speaker 4: the song is done. And, you know, of course you
- 13:20Speaker 4: got to do everything on the back end, but to
- 13:21Speaker 4: know that the song is on Amazon is on all
- 13:24Speaker 4: platforms and, and, And a couple of weeks after you
- 13:27Speaker 4: upload it, it's just amazing that, you know, and the
- 13:30Speaker 4: song is being used to help people. It's happening all
- 13:34Speaker 4: over the world.
- 13:34Speaker 5: I love it.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Yeah, we don't care about no other platforms.
- 13:38Speaker 6: But, yeah, you're right.
- 13:43Speaker 3: That's right, Amazon.
- 13:44Speaker 6: I'm messing with you. I want to say for those
- 13:47Speaker 6: who are just tuning in, welcome. You're listening to Conversations Live.
- 13:50Speaker 6: And I pick with Kate about this all the time,
- 13:52Speaker 6: so don't y'all be writing me. telling me I was
- 13:55Speaker 6: messing with my guest. But Kate Thurman is with us today.
- 13:58Speaker 6: She's an author, media.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Personality, speaker, songwriter, and we're talking with her about a
- 14:02Speaker 1: very busy season she's in right now. But, Kate, the
- 14:04Speaker 1: other thing that you mentioned, again, this goes to people
- 14:07Speaker 1: knowing their lane, knowing what they do know, what they
- 14:10Speaker 1: don't know. The other thing that you came up with
- 14:13Speaker 1: that I was so excited about is you being able
- 14:17Speaker 1: to help to educate others who want.
- 14:19Speaker 2: To do what you do. Talk to us about that part, what.
- 14:22Speaker 1: That's been like for you to share your knowledge with
- 14:25Speaker 1: others and now to be able to get ready to
- 14:27Speaker 1: release that in a book.
- 14:28Speaker 4: Yeah, that part of it, the educational part of it
- 14:33Speaker 4: is the one that touches me the most because so many.
- 14:37Speaker 5: People go and they may get A.I.
- 14:41Speaker 3: Or even if they're going to studio, it doesn't matter.
- 14:43Speaker 4: But when they go and do the music, they think, oh,
- 14:45Speaker 4: I've got to do this song. put this in here,
- 14:47Speaker 4: write the song or however they do it and release it.
- 14:51Speaker 4: And just because you put it on a distribution place
- 14:55Speaker 4: and you think that that's all you have to do.
- 14:57Speaker 2: No.
- 14:58Speaker 5: What about protecting your music?
- 14:59Speaker 4: What about, you know, the music union that you need?
- 15:03Speaker 4: So being able to educate people and let them know
- 15:05Speaker 4: what they need to know to protect themselves and to
- 15:09Speaker 4: collect royalties from now and beyond, you know, and set
- 15:14Speaker 4: up for your family and just make sure that everybody's
- 15:17Speaker 4: taken care of, and you're protected. Don't write some and
- 15:20Speaker 4: just put it out there. That part is the most
- 15:22Speaker 4: touching part for me because people need to know that
- 15:25Speaker 4: they need to protect themselves.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Right.
- 15:28Speaker 2: I love that.
- 15:29Speaker 1: And I love the fact that you're making that available.
- 15:31Speaker 1: You know, it's one thing to know it yourself. Some
- 15:33Speaker 1: people do gatekeep that information, but for you to be
- 15:35Speaker 1: able to provide it, and you're also, from what I understand,
- 15:39Speaker 1: you're stepping into another territory, Kate, of even being able
- 15:43Speaker 1: to teach classes about this.
- 15:44Speaker 2: Is that right?
- 15:45Speaker 4: Yes, I am going to offer a class where, you know,
- 15:48Speaker 4: I help people, not only the ones who want to
- 15:51Speaker 4: just some people just want to do a song and
- 15:54Speaker 4: upload it, but you still have to do the just
- 15:56Speaker 4: the bare minimum to help people teach them how to
- 15:59Speaker 4: set up their accounts, whereas if it's ASCAP or BMI
- 16:03Speaker 4: or whatever platform you use to protect your music.
- 16:05Speaker 3: So I'm going to.
- 16:07Speaker 4: Not only is it going to be in the book
- 16:09Speaker 4: more than more than music, but it's also going to
- 16:12Speaker 4: be me teaching students. A couple of live classes to
- 16:15Speaker 4: help people set up their accounts and understand the next step,
- 16:20Speaker 4: understand what it means to protect yourself in music.
- 16:25Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:26Speaker 1: And I think that's the other thing. One of the
- 16:28Speaker 1: things that I'm very big on is being able to
- 16:31Speaker 1: package your knowledge and helping people to do that. And
- 16:34Speaker 1: that's exactly what I love to hear you doing, Kate,
- 16:37Speaker 1: packaging that knowledge and making it available for other people
- 16:40Speaker 1: to because it does have value, which means it is
- 16:44Speaker 1: worthy of people to be able to purchase. And for
- 16:49Speaker 1: you to be able to make that available, I think,
- 16:50Speaker 1: is a real thing. But I think it all goes
- 16:51Speaker 1: back to you making the decision, though, Kate, and this
- 16:54Speaker 1: goes for our audience, to actually do it. There's so
- 16:57Speaker 1: many people out there. It gets irritating to me at times,
- 17:00Speaker 1: I think, because I'm getting older, Kate. that people just
- 17:03Speaker 1: talk about what they're going to do. Oh, I've always
- 17:05Speaker 1: wanted to do it, and I just want to.
- 17:07Speaker 2: Say, well, why haven't you done it?
- 17:09Speaker 5: Right, right, just do it.
- 17:10Speaker 2: Yeah, so what has.
- 17:12Speaker 1: That been like for you to show people the importance
- 17:14Speaker 1: of not just talking about what you want to do,
- 17:16Speaker 1: but actually doing the work and getting it done?
- 17:20Speaker 4: For me, it means a lot because I know that
- 17:23Speaker 4: I've left– for me, it's like leaving.
- 17:25Speaker 3: History, right?
- 17:27Speaker 4: I want someone to say, well, you know, Kate Thurman
- 17:30Speaker 4: taught this class and Kate Thurman helped me. If it
- 17:32Speaker 4: wasn't for Kate Thurman, I wouldn't have known that I
- 17:35Speaker 4: need to do this and do that when it comes
- 17:37Speaker 4: to this. Or even with the anthology, interviewing some of
- 17:41Speaker 4: the women that's coming in and just having a conversation
- 17:46Speaker 4: and them telling me their stories.
- 17:47Speaker 3: I'm like, oh, well, your story can help this person.
- 17:49Speaker 5: Boom, boom, boom. And just knowing.
- 17:51Speaker 3: That I'm able to just do it.
- 17:53Speaker 5: Those things, I didn't even know I.
- 17:55Speaker 3: could just do it just like that.
- 17:58Speaker 4: And at the end of the conversations, if I'm teaching
- 18:00Speaker 4: a class or having a consultation, I hear, oh, wow,
- 18:04Speaker 4: you just.
- 18:04Speaker 5: Can do this. You are, some people, you're my mentor.
- 18:07Speaker 5: And I'm like, I never thought of myself.
- 18:08Speaker 3: As a mentor.
- 18:09Speaker 4: But just being able to do it, you won't know
- 18:12Speaker 4: those things that people think of you if you don't
- 18:14Speaker 4: do it.
- 18:14Speaker 3: You just have to do it.
- 18:16Speaker 5: Use what God gave you.
- 18:17Speaker 4: Being able to hear those things from people, it brings
- 18:21Speaker 4: me nothing but sheer joy because I never thought of
- 18:24Speaker 4: myself as a person that was a mentor or a
- 18:27Speaker 4: person that can help this person get from this to that.
- 18:30Speaker 4: But it goes back to what you said, just standing
- 18:33Speaker 4: in your wheelhouse and.
- 18:34Speaker 3: Knowing, like, I know my strengths. You know what my
- 18:36Speaker 3: weaknesses are.
- 18:37Speaker 4: I told you, like, yeah, I want somebody else to
- 18:40Speaker 4: do that because I can't do that. But I could
- 18:42Speaker 4: do this because this is what God gave me.
- 18:45Speaker 2: Right.
- 18:45Speaker 1: And I think that's it, being able to recognize that.
- 18:48Speaker 1: So let's recap here, Kate. As we mentioned, of course,
- 18:50Speaker 1: Kate continues to be able to share the message from
- 18:52Speaker 1: her own book, Beauty Beyond the Tears.
- 18:54Speaker 2: But she also, of.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Course, is in a new season of the Kate Thurman Show.
- 18:58Speaker 1: She has a show, as we mentioned earlier, with her husband,
- 19:00Speaker 1: Graceful Gatherings with the Thurmans. And outside of that, she's
- 19:03Speaker 1: been real involved in writing songs, not only for herself
- 19:08Speaker 1: but also for others. She has work coming out to
- 19:10Speaker 1: be able to talk about that too, which is so big.
- 19:13Speaker 1: And then she has the anthology that we mentioned earlier
- 19:17Speaker 1: that's going to be coming out too. So a lot
- 19:19Speaker 1: of great things for people to be able to stay
- 19:21Speaker 1: connected with Kate Kate, I want to say congratulations to you.
