- 0:05Speaker 1: Hi, everybody.
- 0:05Speaker 2: You're very welcome into the Irish Theaters podcast presented by
- 0:08Speaker 2: Erlingcaus as we rock up for week eleven. I'm recording
- 0:10Speaker 2: this podcast from a hotel room in Madrid. It seems
- 0:13Speaker 2: like only yesterday the Steelers came to Dublin and now
- 0:17Speaker 2: we've got through every international game for the last one.
- 0:19Speaker 2: I know the Steelers aren't playing, but I do want
- 0:21Speaker 2: to give a quick shout out to former Steeler Making Fitzpatrick,
- 0:25Speaker 2: who sends his regards to all Staeters fans in Ireland.
- 0:27Speaker 2: And even though he's not with the Dolphins, had a
- 0:29Speaker 2: chance to chat to him earlier on and I've got
- 0:30Speaker 2: to leave a bigger guests than that on this week's podcast.
- 0:33Speaker 2: You know him from seeing him all over the internet
- 0:35Speaker 2: doing podcasts. He's still involved coaching college football, but we've
- 0:39Speaker 2: seen him on our screens, hear him in our ears
- 0:43Speaker 2: when it comes to Sky Sports NFL. Jeff Ryan Wold,
- 0:46Speaker 2: very very good to have the honor.
- 0:47Speaker 3: Jet.
- 0:47Speaker 2: I believe you're the first person internationally to come on
- 0:51Speaker 2: here twice this season. You're big time now man, how
- 0:54Speaker 2: are you doing well?
- 0:55Speaker 4: I think it's a big honor. I mean when anytime
- 0:58Speaker 4: you're talking about in organization.
- 1:00Speaker 3: As iconic as the Pittsburgh Steelers. It's a It's an honor.
- 1:05Speaker 4: It really is an honor, Mike, because again, as you know,
- 1:08Speaker 4: I'm in that generation of fans that because I'm a
- 1:11Speaker 4: football fan first that you know, grew up with the
- 1:15Speaker 4: Steel Curtain and Joe Green and Jack Ham and Jack
- 1:18Speaker 4: Lambert and you know, Mel Blunt and all those tremendous,
- 1:22Speaker 4: tremendous Steelers. Terry Bradshaw. You know, I coached at Louisiana
- 1:26Speaker 4: Tech and had an opportunity to meet Terry a couple
- 1:29Speaker 4: of times, and you know, obviously he is a Steeler forever.
- 1:33Speaker 3: I mean, he is black and Gold forever.
- 1:36Speaker 4: And you know it was really I was, you know
- 1:39Speaker 4: what shocked me about Terry when I met him, how
- 1:41Speaker 4: big he is. I mean, he is a big man.
- 1:44Speaker 4: I mean, so there's no question he could throw that.
- 1:47Speaker 4: He could throw that pill a long way. And when
- 1:49Speaker 4: Lyn Swan was out there and John Stalwarts was out
- 1:51Speaker 4: there running for it, you know, that was some fun
- 1:54Speaker 4: football to watch.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Sounds agast Man's got a soft spot for this.
- 1:57Speaker 4: The theaters.
- 1:58Speaker 2: I tell you, I seen I seen Terry Brodt shot
- 2:00Speaker 2: at the media there for the Super Bowl last year,
- 2:03Speaker 2: and even at his age, and I couldn't get over
- 2:05Speaker 2: how tall he was. You just could imagine go back
- 2:07Speaker 2: into this, as you said, slinging that ball, Jeff, We're
- 2:11Speaker 2: gonna talk about the struggles last week in the second
- 2:13Speaker 2: and we're gonna look ahead of this week eleven game
- 2:15Speaker 2: very shortly as well. But this is the first time
- 2:17Speaker 2: you've been you've been on the podcast since the game
- 2:19Speaker 2: in Dublin. I know you were not in Dublin, but
- 2:21Speaker 2: you guys, I believe played so Jeff Folks coaches for
- 2:25Speaker 2: Hawaii and you guys played the Saturday. I think you
- 2:27Speaker 2: had a bye week, so you were traveling home and
- 2:29Speaker 2: I think he had a chance to watch the game
- 2:32Speaker 2: from Afar. What did you think of it? Because I like,
- 2:36Speaker 2: for me, like obviously on a personal level, it was
- 2:38Speaker 2: a triumph. And when you see it's funny today because
- 2:44Speaker 2: I was in the burn about today and I've seen
- 2:45Speaker 2: just how happy a lot of the Spanish journalists were.
- 2:48Speaker 2: They were so like excited. I know that was me
- 2:50Speaker 2: like a few weeks ago, like like like a little
- 2:52Speaker 2: child of Christmas. But it was, it was, it was great,
- 2:55Speaker 2: It was it was good.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Crack.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Just how how good do you think that was for
- 3:00Speaker 2: the Steeler chef and that like that, I think of
- 3:02Speaker 2: the iconic moment where you had tomlan Rogers and Tom
- 3:07Speaker 2: Heyward walking out of the stadium. I mean, who could
- 3:09Speaker 2: It was like a perfect fairytale one. What was it
- 3:11Speaker 2: like watching from Afardo? Because I know you wanted to
- 3:13Speaker 2: be there.
- 3:14Speaker 3: You know for me. You know again when when you
- 3:16Speaker 3: when you recognize you.
- 3:19Speaker 4: Know the combination of the Steelers in Ireland and how
- 3:24Speaker 4: entwined the organization and the Rooney family is with you know,
- 3:30Speaker 4: their you know, historic roots in Ireland, you know that
- 3:34Speaker 4: that's such a great success story and to take their
- 3:39Speaker 4: team back to their roots and take their team back
- 3:42Speaker 4: to you know, where their heritage comes from. And the fans,
- 3:48Speaker 4: the way the fans in Ireland embraced the Steelers and
- 3:52Speaker 4: the way that the Steeler fans travel. Because Mike when
- 3:57Speaker 4: out of the tunnel and this was the moment that
- 4:00Speaker 4: that got.
- 4:00Speaker 3: Me out of the tunnel.
- 4:02Speaker 4: You saw those iconic uniforms, a uniform that has really
- 4:08Speaker 4: not changed in fifty years, right, And I think there
- 4:13Speaker 4: is something to be said for history and tradition and
- 4:18Speaker 4: you know that they're the only team in the league
- 4:24Speaker 4: with their decal only on one side of their helmet, right,
- 4:29Speaker 4: Their uniforms have been you know, when they come on
- 4:35Speaker 4: the field, it's like the New York Yankees in baseball
- 4:38Speaker 4: with their pinstripes.
- 4:40Speaker 3: I mean, it's just it's just who they are.
- 4:43Speaker 4: And it's got to be an incredibly thrilling experience to
- 4:48Speaker 4: put that jersey on, right, and put that helmet on
- 4:53Speaker 4: and know that you're representing something and playing for something
- 4:57Speaker 4: that is way.
- 4:59Speaker 3: Bigger than you are. And that seems so cliche.
- 5:01Speaker 4: And maybe you know that, well, this is pro football.
- 5:05Speaker 3: It's a business.
- 5:06Speaker 4: Yeah, it is a business, but you know, you still
- 5:10Speaker 4: stand for something, and you know, I think that's that's
- 5:14Speaker 4: what one of the reasons why the Steelers.
- 5:17Speaker 3: Have become what they are. They do business different, right.
- 5:22Speaker 4: They don't fire coaches willy nilly, they don't move general
- 5:26Speaker 4: managers every two years. Mike Tomlin has been there nineteen
- 5:30Speaker 4: seasons and that's five more. You know, then then you
- 5:36Speaker 4: know some of the longest tenures in history. I mean
- 5:41Speaker 4: you think about you know that that how that nineteen
- 5:46Speaker 4: years at the same place, nineteen years.
- 5:50Speaker 3: The message has been the same.
- 5:51Speaker 2: It's incredible, but it is and people will look back
- 5:54Speaker 2: in that for years to come and think because there's
- 5:58Speaker 2: not a lot of we're talking abou Dublin there, but
- 6:02Speaker 2: just just I like the way you've got I like
- 6:04Speaker 2: the way you come into this. You're almost proude in
- 6:07Speaker 2: the sense of because you know, in life and also
- 6:09Speaker 2: in sports now, it's rare to see that kind of loyalty,
- 6:13Speaker 2: but that kind of progression and that kind of and consistency,
- 6:18Speaker 2: which is very.
- 6:19Speaker 4: Important, Michael, that's that should be the blueprint if you
- 6:23Speaker 4: you know, you look at organizations that every three years
- 6:27Speaker 4: are firing coaches, every four years of firing gms, every you.
- 6:31Speaker 3: Know, changing court.
- 6:32Speaker 4: I mean, it's like, don't you guys pay attention. Look
- 6:38Speaker 4: at look at the Steelers. Look to the Steelers. You
- 6:41Speaker 4: know Bill Coward was there and he was the one
- 6:44Speaker 4: I was talking about. You know, he was there for
- 6:48Speaker 4: I think fourteen or fifteen. How many coaches have they
- 6:51Speaker 4: had in the last forty years, right, I mean, it's unbelievable.
- 6:58Speaker 4: They are a model of insistency and they do business
- 7:02Speaker 4: their way, and they don't script, they don't you know,
- 7:05Speaker 4: that's not like you know that, but they do things
- 7:09Speaker 4: the Steeler way. And I've talked to guys who have
- 7:13Speaker 4: played there and coached there and they say they all
- 7:17Speaker 4: say the same thing, that there is a certain way
- 7:21Speaker 4: that things are done with the Pittsburgh Steelers, and you
- 7:26Speaker 4: better put your agenda aside when you wear that black helmet.
- 7:32Speaker 4: And you know they've had they've had guys that couldn't
- 7:36Speaker 4: put their agenda aside long enough and where did they
- 7:40Speaker 4: end up?
- 7:40Speaker 3: Somewhere else?
- 7:42Speaker 4: Right, But the Steelers kept winning because there's something to
- 7:47Speaker 4: be said for, you know, having a culture.
- 7:51Speaker 3: That transcends per you know, individuals.
- 7:55Speaker 2: There have been love. That's a phenomenal answer. Thank you
- 7:59Speaker 2: very very much, chef. We're gonna talk with this game
- 8:01Speaker 2: this weekend in the second, but just before that there
- 8:03Speaker 2: have been up week elevenue of the season, Steelers had
- 8:07Speaker 2: an early buye week out of Dublin, and you think
- 8:10Speaker 2: of that high in Dublin, the way that like it
- 8:13Speaker 2: all worked out for the Steers or really family, they
- 8:16Speaker 2: get the buye a week. There's been ups and downs.
- 8:20Speaker 2: I think of that game against the Colts where they
- 8:22Speaker 2: win it, especially the Colts coming in like they and
- 8:25Speaker 2: they still are obviously very very well thoughtowed, but to
- 8:28Speaker 2: win that game at home is a big thing. But
- 8:30Speaker 2: yet when you look at and there's no point in
- 8:33Speaker 2: ignoring us, and you hear Aaron Rodgers, we're gonna hear
- 8:37Speaker 2: from We're gonna hear from him in the second Those
- 8:40Speaker 2: guys struggled last week against the Chargers to the point where,
- 8:44Speaker 2: you know, they never looked like they were probably that competitive,
- 8:48Speaker 2: especially in the second half at certain points, especially when
- 8:51Speaker 2: they're giving up points twenty five to ten loss against
- 8:54Speaker 2: the Chargers. How do you how do you sum up
- 8:59Speaker 2: the first ten weeks of this season, the first nine
- 9:02Speaker 2: games for the Steers team who are five and four,
- 9:05Speaker 2: they see the VENs coming back in for Stears fans listening,
- 9:08Speaker 2: how do you suone up on what do you think
- 9:10Speaker 2: needs to improve generally?
- 9:12Speaker 4: Well, I would never you know, I would never pretend
- 9:16Speaker 4: to know what Mike Tomlin says to his football team,
- 9:18Speaker 4: because Mike Tomlins one of the great coaches in the
- 9:21Speaker 4: history of the NFL in terms of how he manages
- 9:25Speaker 4: his football team and his messaging to his football team
- 9:28Speaker 4: is always I think, amongst the best in the league.
- 9:31Speaker 4: But certainly if you look at the Steelers, and this
- 9:33Speaker 4: is the thing that the fans sometimes lose sight of
- 9:37Speaker 4: If you look at the Steelers, they are five and
- 9:39Speaker 4: four right now. You want to get to Thanksgiving at
- 9:43Speaker 4: least five hundred, right, So they're in that, they're in
- 9:47Speaker 4: that ballpark. The good thing is they're playing in the
- 9:50Speaker 4: division that has been weakened by injury in Baltimore and Cincinnati.
- 9:54Speaker 4: Cleveland's out of it.
- 9:56Speaker 3: Now.
- 9:56Speaker 4: What's important to the Steelers in my opinion, and I'm
- 10:00Speaker 4: sure that Mike's talking to his team this way. We
- 10:03Speaker 4: have got to trend now in a positive direction. Here
- 10:07Speaker 4: are the things that I see about the Steelers. There
- 10:11Speaker 4: was a time when Terrell Austin and the defense really struggled.
- 10:16Speaker 4: The last time they played Cincinnati, they got exposed in
- 10:19Speaker 4: man coverage. But I've watched and this is what great
- 10:23Speaker 4: football teams and great coaches do. I've watched them start
- 10:26Speaker 4: to adjust what they want to do schematically to fit
- 10:31Speaker 4: the guys that they have. Right So that I think
- 10:35Speaker 4: is a real positive. And you've seen the defense in
- 10:37Speaker 4: the last two weeks really start to come back. The
- 10:40Speaker 4: pass rush has started to come back again. They're playing
- 10:43Speaker 4: more zone in the back end, and I think that
- 10:46Speaker 4: those are all good things.
- 10:49Speaker 3: You know, for Steeler Nation. If you're looking for positives,
- 10:51Speaker 3: that's a positive.
- 10:53Speaker 4: I think the challenge for the offense now is who
- 10:58Speaker 4: is going to emerge as the second and third receivers
- 11:02Speaker 4: in that in that offense because DK obviously you see
- 11:07Speaker 4: him and you recognize what a talent he is, and
- 11:10Speaker 4: Rogers can certainly still get him the ball. Washington is
- 11:14Speaker 4: developing as a receiver at at tight end. Friarmouth is
- 11:18Speaker 4: a consistent tight end, but it's you know, Roman Wilson
- 11:22Speaker 4: and that that bunch in the receiver room that I
- 11:25Speaker 4: think need to step their game up and you know,
- 11:29Speaker 4: develop a more I don't know, if Aaron has a
- 11:32Speaker 4: lot of confidence in his second and thirds and you've
- 11:35Speaker 4: got to have that.
- 11:36Speaker 2: Do you think that just is going to take more
- 11:38Speaker 2: time to develop?
- 11:39Speaker 4: Yeah, because again people, we're in this instant gratification world
- 11:44Speaker 4: right now, right but you've got to understand it takes time.
- 11:50Speaker 4: Everybody runs a route a different way. Every quarterback has
- 11:55Speaker 4: a different way he wants to throw, you know again,
- 11:59Speaker 4: and that is developed that can only be developed through repetition,
- 12:03Speaker 4: through time, and through consistent messaging from the head coach
- 12:09Speaker 4: all the way through the organization. And that has always
- 12:12Speaker 4: been what has been Mike Thomlins's greatest strength. And so
- 12:16Speaker 4: now you say again, because as fans we look at
- 12:22Speaker 4: we always see the negative, right and we don't Well,
- 12:26Speaker 4: you say, well, we didn't, you know, we we didn't
- 12:28Speaker 4: produce enough offensively, And and Aaron was bluntly honest, and
- 12:33Speaker 4: I credit him for that, right he was, he was,
- 12:36Speaker 4: you know, they do. They got to better, get better
- 12:38Speaker 4: on offense, but they got to get better in every phase.
- 12:41Speaker 3: But they're still first in the division and as far
- 12:45Speaker 3: as I as far as.
- 12:46Speaker 4: I know, nobody's won the division and nobody's out of
- 12:49Speaker 4: the playoffs yet. So you just focus on the process
- 12:52Speaker 4: and don't listen to all the noise that's out there,
- 12:56Speaker 4: because the process is ongoing. Right, They've still got to
- 13:00Speaker 4: They've still got room to improve in all three phases.
- 13:03Speaker 4: And when you look at why Mike Tomlin has survived
- 13:07Speaker 4: in a business that is, what have you done for
- 13:12Speaker 4: me this week? For nineteen years in the same place,
- 13:16Speaker 4: it's because the messaging has been consistent. They don't panic,
- 13:20Speaker 4: they don't look you know that, they don't grasp at straws.
- 13:24Speaker 4: They go back to what they know is the recipe
- 13:27Speaker 4: and The recipe in Pittsburgh has always been the same thing.
- 13:31Speaker 4: Don't turn it over, play great defense, get after the
- 13:34Speaker 4: other team's quarterback right, and you're gonna and you're gonna
- 13:39Speaker 4: be in the play like they have been. You're gonna
- 13:41Speaker 4: be in the playoffs every year.
- 13:44Speaker 2: Just on that. We're we're gonna get our CAZy the
- 13:45Speaker 2: game in a second for this Bangles Staters game. Before
- 13:49Speaker 2: we do that, we're gonna hear from a guy who
- 13:50Speaker 2: just talked about that now, coach Tuman was talking to
- 13:52Speaker 2: the media this week. We're also gonna hear from arm
- 13:54Speaker 2: Rodgers out to not disappointing defeat to the Aded Chargers
- 13:56Speaker 2: and looking ahead to this week on the Irish Theaters
- 13:58Speaker 2: podcast presented by Eric Lingis.
- 14:01Speaker 1: You know, from a planning perspective and a playing perspective,
- 14:03Speaker 1: all of us involved, coaches and players, we didn't do
- 14:06Speaker 1: a good enough job positioning the others to be impactful
- 14:09Speaker 1: and the others didn't make enough plays. And that's just
- 14:12Speaker 1: the reality of it. So with that understanding, man, we
- 14:15Speaker 1: go back to work. I think on the other side,
- 14:19Speaker 1: you know, I'm feeling some stability there that we've gotten
- 14:22Speaker 1: really solid with Jalen Ramsey and Kyle Duggart at safety.
- 14:27Speaker 1: I think there's been a reduction in some of the
- 14:28Speaker 1: big plays. I think we're making people earn it more
- 14:31Speaker 1: Big time AFC North Ball. I'd be remiss if I
- 14:34Speaker 1: didn't talk about the special team's component. Darren has been
- 14:37Speaker 1: there coordinator for a long time. Charlie Charlie Jones ran
- 14:41Speaker 1: to kick back the other week. I think he's got
- 14:43Speaker 1: three returns for touchdowns in his in his three year career,
- 14:48Speaker 1: one one punt return and two kickoff. And so the
- 14:51Speaker 1: field position component of this game is and always will
- 14:54Speaker 1: be significant. Uh. Darren and Danny Smith mean going at
- 14:58Speaker 1: it a long time man. Those two Grizzly Terans will
- 15:00Speaker 1: be another chapter in their story this weekend. All of
- 15:03Speaker 1: the above will be reasons why to tune in and
- 15:07Speaker 1: be big factors for for why this game is a
- 15:09Speaker 1: big one for us. I'm excited about the prep process.
- 15:12Speaker 1: They show your excitement for a game like this through
- 15:15Speaker 1: the prep process and so been a good couple of
- 15:17Speaker 1: days from a staff perspective, formulating strategy, divide and the
- 15:21Speaker 1: work up, et cetera. Can't wait to get on the
- 15:23Speaker 1: field with the team tomorrow and continue.
- 15:25Speaker 5: Knew the third down wasn't very good. Uh, you know,
- 15:28Speaker 5: we're all for our first I don't know eight or
- 15:30Speaker 5: nine a team like so that that put us in
- 15:33Speaker 5: uh you know my neighbor. Obviously field vision didn't help.
- 15:38Speaker 5: But when you're backed up, you got to get a
- 15:39Speaker 5: first down and a couple of first downs start to
- 15:41Speaker 5: shift that we didn't do that turn the ball over
- 15:43Speaker 5: too many times. You look at the third down struggles.
- 15:46Speaker 3: Is there a common thread or something.
- 15:47Speaker 2: You guys have during the.
- 15:52Speaker 5: Yeah, there's some things we can work on, for sure.
- 15:55Speaker 2: I canna tell.
- 15:55Speaker 4: You you guys, we like to.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Keep this team to counter the different things that teams
- 16:02Speaker 2: thrown you guys.
- 16:04Speaker 5: I have a lot of confidence in our ability to
- 16:06Speaker 5: counter whatever anybody throws our way.
- 16:11Speaker 3: I feel like.
- 16:14Speaker 5: Getting I'd love to see Jalen on the first, second,
- 16:18Speaker 5: or third down, but I love seeing Kenny on first, second,
- 16:21Speaker 5: third down too, So you got a luxury of those
- 16:24Speaker 5: two guys. I think we need to keep getting Jalen
- 16:27Speaker 5: more more runs on first, second down and mix them
- 16:30Speaker 5: in on third down. But Kenny's in a great job
- 16:32Speaker 5: on third down for us. Aaron, you've had a rough games,
- 16:36Speaker 5: have learned over the last twenty years in terms of
- 16:39Speaker 5: making sure one doesn't believe. It's just consistency, if the
- 16:45Speaker 5: if the process is right, you know, you don't have
- 16:48Speaker 5: to make any major changes and freak out. It's you know,
- 16:51Speaker 5: it's the nature of the league. There's gonna be a
- 16:54Speaker 5: you know, a stinker every now and then. You just
- 16:56Speaker 5: gotta know, bounce back, get back to the things you
- 16:58Speaker 5: do and get back in your routine and trying to
- 17:00Speaker 5: be better the next week.
- 17:02Speaker 3: What do you think it was? What are you talking
- 17:04Speaker 3: up to?
- 17:06Speaker 5: Well, they've got a good defense, you know, they clamped
- 17:09Speaker 5: us down, and a couple of throws I usually hit,
- 17:11Speaker 5: I missed the main reasons.
- 17:15Speaker 2: Good to hear from the guys. It's always good to
- 17:18Speaker 2: hear from this guy. Jeff Ryanbold, Jeff, you've said a
- 17:21Speaker 2: few things are already. This Bengals. You know, this Bengals
- 17:25Speaker 2: team is three and six. They're looking to having Joe
- 17:27Speaker 2: Burrow back. After Thanksgiving. They put up thirty one points
- 17:31Speaker 2: on the Steelers weeks ago. They can still put up points.
- 17:34Speaker 2: They expect, they expect Joe Burrow back, and frankly, you know,
- 17:38Speaker 2: this is the point of the season. Sir Alex Ferguson
- 17:40Speaker 2: Soccer used to call it squeaky bum time. It is
- 17:43Speaker 2: the Ravens are clawing, crawling back, and this lead in
- 17:47Speaker 2: the North now is very much something to look at,
- 17:50Speaker 2: and it's imperative for the Steelers team to go wide
- 17:52Speaker 2: at home this weekend and and win this game. For me,
- 17:55Speaker 2: For me, Jeff, I want to see them run the
- 17:57Speaker 2: ball more, but I want to see more consistent, more
- 18:00Speaker 2: confident plant with Martin Rodgers, especially off of that game,
- 18:02Speaker 2: I can see how that charges. That's binds block. Let's
- 18:05Speaker 2: got a couple of such times on the border earning
- 18:06Speaker 2: and make this a win for the Steelers. Any keys
- 18:10Speaker 2: to the game that you feel you have, especially if
- 18:12Speaker 2: we look back at how they performed in La, it's
- 18:15Speaker 2: it's going to be very very important for quick binds
- 18:17Speaker 2: block here, isn't it.
- 18:18Speaker 3: I think? Yeah? I do.
- 18:19Speaker 4: I really think that the key for the Steelers is
- 18:22Speaker 4: to play great, complimentary football. They didn't do that last
- 18:26Speaker 4: time they played Cincinnati, right, there was kind of a
- 18:29Speaker 4: I don't know, you know again because I wasn't on
- 18:31Speaker 4: the sideline, I wasn't on the phones. But when you
- 18:35Speaker 4: watch them not be able to adjust on defense and
- 18:39Speaker 4: Jamar Chase goes off like he goes off. I don't
- 18:42Speaker 4: know how many he cut twelve or thirteen balls that night.
- 18:46Speaker 4: Obviously they'll have a they'll have a plan for that,
- 18:49Speaker 4: right Joe Flacco when he's hot, and you make it
- 18:53Speaker 4: you know, you make it easy for him because you
- 18:55Speaker 4: got you're locked up in Manda Man all over the field.
- 18:58Speaker 4: He can get the ball out of his hands quick.
- 19:00Speaker 4: He knows where to go to, you know, with the ball.
- 19:03Speaker 4: They've got to play I think sounder defense. And again
- 19:08Speaker 4: the pass rushers have got to do their job against
- 19:10Speaker 4: Blacke because remember Flacco is a forty seven year old
- 19:13Speaker 4: quarterback that struggles when he gets you know, pressure and
- 19:17Speaker 4: out of the pocket. Danny Smith and his special teams
- 19:22Speaker 4: have got to create field position because if the Steelers
- 19:26Speaker 4: win the field position battle, they have a great chance
- 19:29Speaker 4: of winning the football game because it can be balanced
- 19:31Speaker 4: or be more balanced when they're getting the ball at
- 19:35Speaker 4: center field or on the other side of the fifty
- 19:39Speaker 4: yard line because of a special team's player or a
- 19:41Speaker 4: special teams plays. And then I think offensively, like I said,
- 19:46Speaker 4: I think I agree with you, Mike. You talk about balance,
- 19:49Speaker 4: there's two ways to look at balance. Balance is either
- 19:52Speaker 4: throw the ball or get the ball in everybody's.
- 19:55Speaker 3: Hands, or it's run pass balance.
- 19:58Speaker 4: I think they need to be a to run the
- 20:00Speaker 4: ball enough that you know, rogers end the receivers. And
- 20:05Speaker 4: it's not just Rogers, it's the receivers. Like we talked about,
- 20:08Speaker 4: the twos and threes have gotta have got to step up.
- 20:11Speaker 4: I think through I think Friar Moove needs to have
- 20:13Speaker 4: a good game too, right, and and because he you know,
- 20:18Speaker 4: if if they double DK and they take DK away
- 20:21Speaker 4: in my estimation, well I think I think it's more
- 20:26Speaker 4: on pack right, And like I said, Washington has started
- 20:29Speaker 4: to develop as a pass receiver. He came into the league.
- 20:31Speaker 4: I think he caught six balls his senior year at
- 20:34Speaker 4: Y're at Georgia. Right, he came into the league as
- 20:36Speaker 4: a blocking tight end. But he is a unique athlete
- 20:41Speaker 4: and they've worked and developed him into now a viable
- 20:45Speaker 4: pass catching tight end. And two guys like that is
- 20:49Speaker 4: huge because it puts pressure on the defense. It limits
- 20:52Speaker 4: the amount of dbs that you can play, and that again,
- 20:55Speaker 4: those are all critical factors in this game. So I
- 20:59Speaker 4: think the Steelers playing great complimentary football, not taking penalties,
- 21:04Speaker 4: win the field, pat, We'll win the field ball position
- 21:07Speaker 4: battle and come out of this thing with a W
- 21:10Speaker 4: and keep the pressure on the Ravens and keep the
- 21:14Speaker 4: pressure on Cincinnati.
- 21:17Speaker 2: Big games coming up in this AFC Nor. If this
- 21:20Speaker 2: is gonna go all the way down to the last
