- 1:06SPEAKER_04: I'm so excited that Eugen Magazine is out, volume one.
- 1:10SPEAKER_04: Vanessa Merix is on the cover.
- 1:12SPEAKER_04: She looks phenomenal, and I'm so excited to see it on Apple Books worldwide.

- 1:20SPEAKER_04: I really urge you guys it's a free download.
- 1:22SPEAKER_04: We made the first volume absolutely free for everyone to go get their hands on.
- 1:28SPEAKER_04: It is like the most beautiful publication.
- 1:31SPEAKER_04: Like, you know, um, if you look at coffee table books and how beautiful the imagery is, and you know, you can flip through it.
- 1:38SPEAKER_04: It's like that for like, you know, a digital version.
- 1:40SPEAKER_04: So for your iPad or for your um, you know, your phone or anywhere that you um look at your content when it comes to um, you know, Apple and whatnot.
- 1:49SPEAKER_04: So, anyways, it's beautiful, but but at the same time, it's so cool because we have all of our editorial in there, we've got all of our research papers in there, we've got all of the um, you know, the information about the brands that we s that we have featured in there.
- 2:03SPEAKER_04: So you can shop the brand, you can listen to the episode of the founder at the same time as you're reading Eugen.
- 2:11SPEAKER_04: So that's the really cool feature, and it's completely away from social media, away from hustle and bustle.
- 2:18SPEAKER_04: It is such a unique publication um in that regard.
- 2:22SPEAKER_04: So I really, really would love to see you guys all get your hands on it.
- 2:26SPEAKER_04: Like I said, free download a couple books.
- 2:28SPEAKER_04: Just um all you gotta do is go there, search Eugen magazine, both words, um, and it'll pop right up.
- 2:36SPEAKER_04: And it's such a obvious, you know, like it'll be right there in your face.
- 2:40SPEAKER_04: You'll see the lesson right on the cover, and you know, I I know you guys are gonna love it.
- 2:45SPEAKER_04: Just go check it out and let us know what you think.
- 2:47SPEAKER_04: Leave us a review.
- 2:48SPEAKER_04: You can review it and rate it on Apple Books itself, which is a huge plus for us, and we would love to hear what you think and what your experience was with the first volume.
- 2:57SPEAKER_04: But I'm very excited because we finally got this off the girl and this has been in the making for such a long time, and there will be a separate episode coming up where we're gonna flip the table on me, and um someone's gonna be interviewing me about Eugene, but it's gonna be here on some creative energy, so stay tuned for that.
- 3:13SPEAKER_04: But I'm just so excited to hear you guys' feedback, and you know, I'm gonna stop ranting.
- 3:18SPEAKER_04: I want you guys to get this episode.
- 3:20SPEAKER_04: I just wanted to come in and chat a little bit with you.
- 3:22SPEAKER_04: I hope you've been wonderful.
- 3:24SPEAKER_04: I hope your New Year's is off to a beautiful start.
- 3:27SPEAKER_04: And yeah, thank you guys so much for all of your support, all of your encouragement, all of your amazing comments, the downloads.
- 3:35SPEAKER_04: Oh my gosh, I I don't even know how to like, you know, um express how long this list is.
- 3:41SPEAKER_04: So um I'm gonna let it go here, but um, thank you again, and stay tuned because volume two is gonna be out sooner than you think.
- 3:48SPEAKER_04: And that's all I'm gonna tell you.
- 3:50SPEAKER_04: All right, guys, talk to you soon.
- 4:04SPEAKER_04: Hi guys, welcome back to Speaker Anarchy.
- 4:07SPEAKER_04: This is your host, Ecta.
- 4:08SPEAKER_04: I'm very excited today because I am hosting a wonderful brand that was in our topics, and I'm just I'm just a huge fan through and through.
- 4:17SPEAKER_04: So, um, without further ado, I want to introduce you guys to the founder of Immunicology, which is a wonderful new brand that I've discovered.
- 4:26SPEAKER_04: Like I said, um, Karen Ballow.
- 4:29SPEAKER_04: Welcome to the show, Karen.
- 4:30SPEAKER_02: Well, thank you for having me.
- 4:32SPEAKER_02: And it's just such a delight to be here with you today and and uh have an opportunity to share with you and with your audience about immunocology, skincare, and all the great attributes and the way it's so effective for the skin.
- 4:46SPEAKER_04: Absolutely.
- 4:47SPEAKER_04: I can't wait to learn all about it.
- 4:48SPEAKER_04: And I'm a huge fan, like I said, I've for everyone listening.
- 4:52SPEAKER_04: I've tried pretty much every product by the line, and it is just every product is great, like genuinely.
- 4:57SPEAKER_04: Like I don't say that a lot about most brands, and I I've tried every product, and every single one is just very nice.
- 5:05SPEAKER_04: It's it's and you know, we're all about science here, and that's what really, really um blows my mind, Karen, about your brand is that you know, the science is solid, you know, it's there, it's really, really working.
- 5:17SPEAKER_04: And at the same time, um, and we'll dive into this later, but it's very good for people who have maybe more sensitive skin, or if you're going through something like, for example, I have Hashimoto's, and I know women are more prone to autoimmune diseases.
- 5:31SPEAKER_04: You know what I mean?
- 5:32SPEAKER_04: So, like it's a great option for people.
- 5:35SPEAKER_04: Like, I really love that.
- 5:36SPEAKER_04: But I want to learn about you, Karen.
- 5:38SPEAKER_04: I want you to start us off by walking us down memory lane, telling us about yourself, telling us about the journey that led to the creation of the brand.
- 5:46SPEAKER_04: Um, if you could.
- 5:47SPEAKER_02: Oh, thank you so much.
- 5:48SPEAKER_02: I well, you know, it's so interesting because when people hear the name immunicology, the first thing I think you go, how do you say it?
- 5:55SPEAKER_02: And I always say, I always put it, I always put it like, let's do a little singing here.
- 5:59SPEAKER_02: Immuneocology.
- 6:02SPEAKER_02: So, so so we have a little fun with it.
- 6:04SPEAKER_02: But, you know, I started it because, you know, as a skincare, um, I want to say uh I've been in the industry for so many years.
- 6:12SPEAKER_02: So I always say, as um an industry insider, been working with brands from the first brand I worked with was Elizabeth Arden.
- 6:22SPEAKER_02: I went over to Redkin after that.
- 6:23SPEAKER_02: So I was with the big brands and you know, being part of that, I also went and got my aesthetic license.
- 6:29SPEAKER_02: And then I decided to go even further, get my teacher's license.
- 6:32SPEAKER_02: So I went further and I got my school.
- 6:34SPEAKER_02: So I had a skincare school, and I went further and had a I had a clinic, a skincare clinic.
- 6:40SPEAKER_02: So I really delved into skin because I felt as though that we here in America, when I started my career career many years ago, that we were very simple in a, you know, um very, I want to say just oily skin, dry skin, combination skin.
- 6:57SPEAKER_02: And yet here we had all this European, you know, information out there that women were using different types of products.
- 7:03SPEAKER_02: And I learned so much of the industry, right?
- 7:07SPEAKER_02: And uh what was happening out there in my early days.
- 7:10SPEAKER_02: And and so becoming a leader in the industry was was one that I really felt was important to um my being because I felt as though that I had this sort of inside gut feeling of I just understood the skin.
- 7:24SPEAKER_02: I understood I really should have been a dermatologist, but I decided to go over to the aesthetic world.
- 7:32SPEAKER_02: And so so what happened is that you know, as I was working on brands and building brands and helping with formulations, and I call it, I took um from seed, I always say seed to molecule and then molecule to market.
- 7:47SPEAKER_02: So before immunecology ever was born, I had been working on new technologies and watching when glycolic came back to market with the doctors who invented that and bioresearch and and even with salicylic acid.
- 8:01SPEAKER_02: And um, there was a formula that I did many years ago that was the first, first brand that ever had, I was the first one to bring salicylic into the cosmetic world, not the medical world, but the cosmetic world.
- 8:12SPEAKER_02: So that was a game stopper, right?
- 8:15SPEAKER_02: So so sort of fast-forwarding from all that, I actually created immunology.
- 8:21SPEAKER_02: I want to say not because I couldn't find another skincare brand, but it was because I had been diagnosed with cancer 15 years ago.
- 8:30SPEAKER_02: I I I know you know that.
- 8:32SPEAKER_02: And a lot of people, you know, didn't know that when I came out with the brand because I was so shy to talk about or I wasn't comfortable talking about the fact that I was a cancer survivor.
- 8:42SPEAKER_02: So, but 15 years ago, um, when I was diagnosed, I had been working two years prior on a um technology and a science that was with Green Clay Science from France.
- 8:56SPEAKER_02: And I was working with an ethnobotanist, amazing, right?
- 9:00SPEAKER_02: I mean, who thinks of green clay and you know, you kind of think of it as oh, it's mud and it's a mask.
- 9:05SPEAKER_02: That's all you think about it, right?
- 9:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and and so one of the things that um the ethnobotanist did, he had been using this green clay, and he took it and he put it with water, and he has a patent technology that the water and clay came together, so it looks like water, feels like water.
- 9:23SPEAKER_02: It was amazing.
- 9:25SPEAKER_02: And so we found out that it was amazing for the skin because they were using it in potato farming, and that was interesting because they found that the potatoes are richer in minerals from the clay water.
- 9:38SPEAKER_02: So that's a kind of a light bulb moment, right?
- 9:40SPEAKER_02: Because we just never think about this.
- 9:42SPEAKER_02: This is like the little widget you don't think about.
- 9:45SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, right?
- 9:47SPEAKER_04: That's very interesting.
- 9:49SPEAKER_04: That, you know, and that clearly means there are so many nutrients in there.
- 9:52SPEAKER_04: That's that's really interesting.
- 9:54SPEAKER_02: Yes, and you know, some people say, you know, eat dirt because dirt is healthy, you know.
- 9:59SPEAKER_02: And so part of this was, you know, I want to say dirty wellness is like a it's been for this past year.
- 10:05SPEAKER_02: I don't know if you saw that with uh global wellness, but um, their top trend was you know dirty wellness, and it really means about the microbiome and what we're doing for our gut health, our skin health, and all of this.
- 10:17SPEAKER_02: So, you know, taking that top level.
- 10:19SPEAKER_02: Um, so when I was doing this 15, 16 years ago and studying this, I was not thinking about putting a brand together.
- 10:26SPEAKER_02: I was just on the research part of this, and so it was during um having chemo radiation that I started to use the clay water and use it on my skin and use it also um the clay mask itself.
- 10:39SPEAKER_02: And my skin didn't turn yellow when many times, you know, when you're going through chemo, there's because your your liver is being compromised, a lot of things happen, you know, through that.
- 10:50SPEAKER_02: So I was really able to keep my skin healthy using this French green clay from France, and it was fascinating because I I didn't never thought I would ever be doing this because I've been working with so many products, but I really didn't know what to use on my skin.
- 11:06SPEAKER_02: So I turned to what was most natural, most beneficial for my skin.
- 11:10SPEAKER_02: And I did that.
- 11:12SPEAKER_02: Well, I wasn't ready.
- 11:14SPEAKER_02: Okay, I was just not ready for like I wasn't thinking about a skincare brand.
- 11:17SPEAKER_02: I was just thinking, get healthy.
- 11:18SPEAKER_02: I have four children, I wanted to be in a place that was healthy for them and in living, right?
- 11:25SPEAKER_02: And there's that feeling like you just want to you want to be able to survive this.
- 11:30SPEAKER_02: And so my vision was surviving.
- 11:32SPEAKER_02: And so eight years ago, when I was told I was in remission, that's when the light bulb went off.
- 11:37SPEAKER_02: And I went to the ethnobotanist and said, I need to bring this brand, this pure, these pure ingredients to the world.
- 11:46SPEAKER_02: And, you know, I feel as though as a industry insider working on formulations, I felt it was almost like my duty to to do something that was really important to uh, you know, to bring to the consumer something that I knew that I personally had a journey with and that I could personally talk about.
- 12:06SPEAKER_02: And being part of formulations and a lot of formulations in the industry, uh I knew this was going to make a difference in so many people's lives as it did with mine.
- 12:18SPEAKER_02: And uh so so that's when the star was born.
- 12:20SPEAKER_02: I say, you know, I have four children.
- 12:22SPEAKER_02: Now I have, you know, uh I have 14 SKU, so I add those to my children.
- 12:28SPEAKER_04: They're all my babies.
- 12:30SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 12:30SPEAKER_04: No, I mean, that's so interesting to me what you said.
- 12:33SPEAKER_04: I um, by the way, you know, I'm just just in awe, you know, that you've survived something so so difficult, you know, something that most people will not experience in their lifetime.
- 12:45SPEAKER_04: And that's, you know, truly just remarkable to me.
- 12:48SPEAKER_04: And, you know, the fact that you took that and you used it for something positive is something, you know, I can't, I don't have words to describe how, you know, astonishing that is.
- 12:58SPEAKER_04: So really hats off to you for that, um, first and foremost.
- 13:02SPEAKER_04: But I also wanted to say that, you know, that is a really great point what you brought up about the liver, you know, um, when whenever we're any obviously with chemo, but also with so many different um diseases now that are emerging, you know, we're noticing that the liver is getting very much impacted, obviously, right?
- 13:21SPEAKER_04: I mean, it's like the it's like the center of detoxifying our body, you know.
- 13:25SPEAKER_04: So it's like it gets impacted very easily.
- 13:28SPEAKER_04: And so when you have things like yellowing of the skin, or that's a response, like you said, from your liver telling you, hey, I'm overburdened, you know, I need help.
- 13:39SPEAKER_04: So it's it's very interesting to me how you know that really kind of played into your your kind of thought process, you know, when you decided, okay, I'm going to I need to bring this technology forward, you know, because it's working for me.
- 13:52SPEAKER_04: So um, yeah, I want to and you know, one thing I want to ask, and if you're not comfortable sharing, that's okay, but I want to ask, like, what are some of the symptoms that you experienced even after the chemo, you know, as you were in remission and you were still obviously, you know, the skin takes time to come back to normal, right?
- 14:09SPEAKER_04: And it's like yes, yeah.
- 14:10SPEAKER_04: So I would love for you to share that if you could.
- 14:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you know, it it it is a it is a memory right now, but at the time, and and I say to anyone who listen who's listening to your show and in, you know, today and in the future, one thing that that is so difficult is you know, going through any of these types of um serious illnesses, your it takes a toll on your body.
- 14:35SPEAKER_02: And it's how you actually work towards I call it the journey to wellness.
- 14:42SPEAKER_02: And so I I will tell you the top line of it is that my bones hurt so badly that I I had a really hard time getting the my bones to feel like they weren't hurting.
- 14:54SPEAKER_02: And I had my tumors were on my neck and on my and I had um a collapsed lung.
- 14:59SPEAKER_02: So you can only imagine.
- 15:01SPEAKER_02: I mean, not to go too dreary into this, but the thing here is that you know, I was having a hard time breathing, and I kept trying to figure out how do I get this my breathing back, right?
- 15:11SPEAKER_02: It wasn't about asthma, it was about my my collapsed lung.
- 15:14SPEAKER_02: So I would go in for tests, but the point is that the the the thing is I I had that oxygen issue because of the collapse.
- 15:23SPEAKER_02: But as the chemo started to take, which I, you know, I I so much didn't want to do, being that I was I'm in this, I'm in this mindset of what can we do naturally to be well.
- 15:34SPEAKER_02: But I knew that if I I knew the statistics were really high that I would survive it.
- 15:39SPEAKER_02: So I I went for what I knew.
- 15:42SPEAKER_02: But but it but in the end, you know, that was the part that you know my bones hurt so badly and I I had a hard time breathing.
- 15:48SPEAKER_02: So you know what I did?
- 15:50SPEAKER_02: This is what I I I went to a naturopathic doctor while I was going through chemo just to see what I could do instead of taking more drugs, right?
- 15:59SPEAKER_02: Maybe there's some more plant-based things I could do.
- 16:02SPEAKER_02: So I did that.
- 16:04SPEAKER_02: And when I had pain, I said, what can I do for pain?
- 16:07SPEAKER_02: And pain is inflammation.
- 16:09SPEAKER_02: So we did that.
- 16:10SPEAKER_02: And so those things helped me.
- 16:11SPEAKER_02: And I I did acupuncture as well, and did a little bit of Chinese medicine in there too.
- 16:17SPEAKER_02: But I didn't want to disrupt my my chemo, so I was very cautious of that because you don't want to do things that are going to, you know, contradict what you're doing because those aren't in studies and they don't know if those things will interfere.
- 16:28SPEAKER_02: So I was very cautious of that.
- 16:30SPEAKER_02: But the one thing I want to tell you that I realized after I stopped chemo and radiation, and I was starting to work towards trying to get better was I went out and I started exercising.
- 16:42SPEAKER_02: I I started to walk the track, I started to run the track.
- 16:46SPEAKER_02: Not everybody wants to go run, by the way.
- 16:49SPEAKER_02: My but my bones hurt, but I thought I had to crush myself.
- 16:52SPEAKER_02: It's a my a mind over matter.
- 16:54SPEAKER_02: And so I did that, and then from there started working out, of course, cautious of my diet.
- 17:00SPEAKER_02: Um, and through those things, started to feel better.
- 17:03SPEAKER_02: But it really took me four to five years to get to that place where I could say, I feel good again.
- 17:10SPEAKER_02: And so it was that little lull in time that I wasn't quite sure was it going to come full force back into the beauty industry?
- 17:17SPEAKER_02: You know, was I going to retire from the beauty industry?
- 17:21SPEAKER_02: So it takes so much to to to you know be out there with people and share with people and promote with people and you know, so forth.
- 17:30SPEAKER_02: And I thought with my immune system being at that point so low, what was it that I was going to do?
- 17:36SPEAKER_02: But you know what?
- 17:36SPEAKER_02: I couldn't give up.
- 17:38SPEAKER_02: And as I got feeling better, I felt better that I could actually go out there and share my my story.
- 17:46SPEAKER_02: Um, it took me, like I said, a couple of years to actually say that I developed this off of based off of my cancer.
- 17:52SPEAKER_02: I don't know why, but sometimes we just hate sharing that.
- 17:55SPEAKER_04: I don't know if it's because we think it's a personal, it's a personal journey.
- 18:00SPEAKER_04: And you know what?
- 18:01SPEAKER_04: And there's nothing wrong with with that because honestly, it's a lot, you know, from what I've seen, just you know, as as somebody who's observed people who are going through um cancer treatment, you know, it's it's a very, very personal thing.
- 18:15SPEAKER_04: And you don't want to make anyone feel like they're being overly exposed and more vulnerable than they already are, you know.
- 18:23SPEAKER_04: So I totally get it.
- 18:25SPEAKER_04: I get it.
- 18:26SPEAKER_04: I mean, you know, so but that's really great though, that you kind of took your wellness into your own hands at one point and said, I'm gonna do this, you know, I'm gonna find ways to fix this.
- 18:35SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that's amazing.
- 18:37SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and that's you know, I think and and knowing that this was very much an important um part of this, I think um I think the key for this is, you know, I always try to empower women to say, you know, that sometimes there's that saying of, you know, uh pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and just go for it, right?
- 18:58SPEAKER_02: And this is a time when I said, this is what I have to do.
- 19:01SPEAKER_02: And my kids were very supportive to it.
- 19:04SPEAKER_02: Um, along the way, I in that too.
- 19:06SPEAKER_02: I I started an equity fund to help other brands, other um, I don't know if you knew this or not, but to help other uh, you know, uh brands, indie brands, um get into the marketplace.
- 19:20SPEAKER_02: So my partner and I started LB Equity, um, which many people don't know that part of my story, that you know, because I had helped people find money for their brands before indie brands were indie brands as they are today, these small little, you know, cottage brands.
- 19:35SPEAKER_02: Um, we were there to help support, you know, several, several uh brands.
- 19:40SPEAKER_02: And we have uh 15 brands in our portfolio, which I mean ecology is one of them now.
- 19:45SPEAKER_02: Isn't that amazing?
- 19:45SPEAKER_02: I don't know if you knew that.
- 19:46SPEAKER_04: That is crazy cool.
- 19:48SPEAKER_04: Yes, that's amazing.
- 19:49SPEAKER_04: What do you mean?
- 19:51SPEAKER_04: That is amazing, yes.
- 19:53SPEAKER_04: I mean, not only did she fight cancer, you guys, but she also created something to help everybody else.
- 19:58SPEAKER_04: I mean, that's freaking phenomenal.
- 20:00SPEAKER_04: I love, I love that, you know.
- 20:02SPEAKER_04: I think that I really, really, you know, and this is a little spiritual, I guess, for everyone listening.
- 20:08SPEAKER_04: You know, you might not jive with it, but I really believe that there are people um, you know, here with us that we go through certain things so that other greatness can come from it, you know.
- 20:19SPEAKER_04: And I really, I'm not saying that anyone deserves to go through anything like cancer.
- 20:25SPEAKER_04: Don't get me wrong.
- 20:26SPEAKER_04: That's yeah, I know I would never want anyone to go through that, but for you to take that and then turn it into something so positive, so impactful, and then on top of it, something that helps more people.
- 20:38SPEAKER_04: That's I mean, that's really a once-in-a-lifetime story.
- 20:41SPEAKER_04: You don't hear that very often.
- 20:43SPEAKER_04: So wow, you know, I'm in awe and I and I'm I'm very uh I feel very privileged to be speaking to you.
- 20:48SPEAKER_04: That's wonderful.
- 20:49SPEAKER_02: Well, I am so privileged to be here with you as well.
- 20:52SPEAKER_02: And I and to be able to share with others, you know, the importance for this is and and I say to my team and I say to those that I meet, you know, I want to tell you about the brand because the importance of this is the science behind it.
- 21:05SPEAKER_02: That we think, you know, sometimes science comes in chemical form, but science is all around us based on how, you know, the earth, the water, the sun, right, the trees and the forest, right?
- 21:19SPEAKER_02: We have all of this science around us that's called natural nature.
- 21:23SPEAKER_02: And we sometimes get lost in the things that have now been synthetically tampered with, and we want to get back to it.
- 21:30SPEAKER_02: And I think this is where I realize that, you know, I had uh this was part of my journey and sharing it with others.
- 21:39SPEAKER_02: And so, you know, there's always that side of it, a little inside part of it.
- 21:43SPEAKER_02: It's like, you know, everybody says, oh, you know, oh, they're just trying to sell me when we go to, you know, Macy's beauty counter.
- 21:49SPEAKER_02: And and that's not that's not wrong that we women feel that way.
- 21:53SPEAKER_02: Um, but it's it's part of the you know, letting people know your brand is here, right?
- 21:58SPEAKER_02: My feeling is that.
- 22:00SPEAKER_02: I know that's the tradition.
- 22:02SPEAKER_02: My way is to be able to share with people this is the brand.
- 22:06SPEAKER_02: And I know I did it to help every individual.
- 22:09SPEAKER_02: And it's that one-on-one, it's having an opportunity to talk with you about it and to share with you the science of what I've done with my ethnobotanists and what I haven't created, but what Earth has created for us that our body needs.
- 22:25SPEAKER_02: And I just I had this ability to bring this together and create something that we're all looking for that natural product, right?
- 22:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah and healthy product.
- 22:37SPEAKER_02: And I all of a sudden I stumbled upon it within our industry and realized this is a game changer for every person in the world.
- 22:47SPEAKER_02: And you know, as my ethnobotanist is net right now, he had he went to the Amazon, he sent me pictures.
- 22:53SPEAKER_02: He's out there looking for no new indigenous plants that we're not using in the health and wellness of our journey to being well.
- 23:01SPEAKER_02: And he comes back and gets to share that.
- 23:03SPEAKER_02: And so that's where when the clay was done, and I saw the benefits of that and the clay water, which is in every single one of my products, but people don't know that.
- 23:13SPEAKER_02: And so what I did is on my product, it says vital oligos science, which means the science of the minerals that are vital to our body.
- 23:23SPEAKER_02: Without those 12 minerals in our body, our body is depleted.
- 23:27SPEAKER_02: It either is dehydrated or it lacks those vitamins.
- 23:30SPEAKER_02: That's why vitamin B is important, vitamin A is important, vitamin C is important.
- 23:34SPEAKER_02: We need the vitamins and the minerals for our body to function properly, right?
- 23:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 23:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 23:41SPEAKER_02: And when absolutely when it's depleted, there's a lack of, and that's where sick gut comes in, you know, sick, you know, um, skin microbiome comes in, you know, and and we don't see it as that.
- 23:53SPEAKER_02: We sort of see it very superficial, like, oh, I have a breakout.
- 23:57SPEAKER_02: Well, we don't think about the root cause of that breakout, we just go, oh, we have a breakout.
- 24:01SPEAKER_02: So what I've tried to do with this is that I've tried to keep the brand very simple, but it is for all skin types because the science is this it's an ionic exchange.
- 24:13SPEAKER_02: It's like walking into the ocean.
- 24:15SPEAKER_02: You know that energy you get when you walk into the ocean, yeah, the healing.
- 24:19SPEAKER_02: You go to the ocean because you go, Oh, I can't wait to get to the beach.
- 24:23SPEAKER_02: I'm going to, you know, Costa Rica and I'm gonna sit by the beach, right?
- 24:27SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna go surfing.
- 24:29SPEAKER_02: Um, but the reason you do it is because you're going there to regenerate yourselves, your mind, your body.
- 24:36SPEAKER_02: You don't know how it happens, but it happens because of an ionic exchange.
- 24:41SPEAKER_02: Isn't that weird?
- 24:42SPEAKER_02: We don't really think about that.
- 24:43SPEAKER_02: We just do it.
- 24:44SPEAKER_02: It's our widget.
- 24:45SPEAKER_02: We go do it, and it this is what happens to our body.
- 24:48SPEAKER_02: And it's that ionic exchange that we create for our products.
- 24:52SPEAKER_02: So we take the clay water and we take clay and water, just sort of picture this.
- 24:59SPEAKER_02: Think of a lightning storm, and you know that nice fresh smell after a lightning storm.
- 25:04SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that's an ionic exchange.
- 25:07SPEAKER_02: The ocean is an ionic exchange.
- 25:09SPEAKER_02: These are all ways of purification, right?
- 25:11SPEAKER_02: These are these are nature bringing purification to the world, to the and it brings it to our body.
- 25:18SPEAKER_02: And so we take the clay and they take the water, we create this ionic exchange.
- 25:22SPEAKER_02: This ionic exchange then is clay water that now is an alkaline state.
- 25:28SPEAKER_02: So when we bring it into our products, we create this balance in our products.
- 25:33SPEAKER_02: So skin is mostly acidic, and we want to bring that pH up to that 4.5 to 5.5, and maybe in that six-point range.
- 25:42SPEAKER_02: And so we're able to do that and balance the skin through the use of these products that are that are fun, feel good on the skin, make the skin glow.
- 25:52SPEAKER_02: But what's really behind the scene is like the ocean, healing your body.
- 25:56SPEAKER_02: This is healing, this is this is nurturing, this is creating a beautiful glow, but it's giving the skin strength and giving the cells a renewed cell.
- 26:06SPEAKER_02: So we're we're it's I always say it's like polishing the skin, you know, we're getting that glow.
- 26:11SPEAKER_02: And and yet we still see it as it's a bottle of skincare.
- 26:15SPEAKER_02: But what's in what but what's in that bottle is transformative.
- 26:19SPEAKER_02: Whether you're going through things like cancer or lupus or you're having, you know, you know, you have so many hormonal disruptors out there with these different chemicals, this helps to balance that.
- 26:30SPEAKER_02: You don't have that issue anymore.
- 26:32SPEAKER_02: So it's for everyone to be able to have something that is going to balance their skin's microbiome, which if someone doesn't know what that means, just a simple part of that is that all sick um, excuse me, all skin can get sick.
- 26:47SPEAKER_02: And even if you have, let's just say, stressed skin, blemishes, rosacea, um, uh dull sluggish skin, you know, that's the same thing as saying that you're tired or your immune system is down, your skin gets set, right?
- 27:04SPEAKER_02: It has it's sick in different ways.
- 27:07SPEAKER_02: And we're we're there to bring these vitamins and then the minerals that the the vitamins and the minerals, minerals is one part, but what we do with the vitamin part, you will love this part.
- 27:19SPEAKER_02: I haven't even talked about that part.
- 27:22SPEAKER_02: But but the vitamin part is where we actually get our ingredients from France, most Africa, Bikino Faso is one of our big areas where we actually have women that actually work with us, get the collect the nuts from the uh desert date tree.
- 27:40SPEAKER_02: They cut them open and you know, um actually slam them open, and they take the seeds and we cold press them right there in Bikino Faso and send that oil over to our facility in France.
- 27:52SPEAKER_02: Isn't that cool?
- 27:54SPEAKER_02: Wow, I love that.
- 27:56SPEAKER_02: And it's a it's a cold pressed oil, right?
- 27:58SPEAKER_02: Like, yeah, cold pressed.
- 28:01SPEAKER_02: And so we use this with the when we do put clay water into it, you know, our our ionic exchange.
- 28:07SPEAKER_02: So we have a dry, it creates a dry oil.
- 28:09SPEAKER_02: So you don't have this heavy, thick, but you get the benefit of the 12 essential minerals.
- 28:14SPEAKER_02: At the same time, you get all those fatty acids from the omega vitamins three, the six, the nine, which is so phenomenal for the skin and the benefit of the skin, and for those antioxidants that we're trying to actually help strengthen the skin and get the skin healthy.
- 28:31SPEAKER_02: So isn't that amazing?
- 28:32SPEAKER_04: That is amazing.
- 28:33SPEAKER_04: And you know, Karen, I wanted to mention something.
- 28:36SPEAKER_04: Um, while I was I was listening to you explain everything, I one thing really popped out, and that is this idea of, you know, when you mentioned ionic exchange, I'm thinking the whole time I'm thinking about really um antioxidant effects and like you know, things like that.
- 28:52SPEAKER_04: You know, I'm thinking about things that are like we talk about, for example, um, you you made a great analogy with the ocean because you know, most of us can really say that we felt that.
- 29:04SPEAKER_04: You know, you go near the ocean, and I'm I'm a huge person that is like that, by the way.
- 29:09SPEAKER_04: I always have to be near the ocean in some way, shape, or form.
- 29:13SPEAKER_04: And you do feel that um, you know, shift in energy.
- 29:17SPEAKER_04: And I think what that is is like a literal like release, like it's like a renewing, you know?
- 29:23SPEAKER_04: Yes, and yes, and that's what I think our skin it needs to go through every day with the products we use on it, is that is this renewing process.
- 29:33SPEAKER_04: And so when I look at skincare and I look at all the brands out there, one of the things that really irks me, I'm not gonna lie, is we're focusing on the wrong things, some of us.
- 29:43SPEAKER_04: You know what I mean?
- 29:44SPEAKER_04: It's like it's really comes down to what you said, which is if you want to keep it healthy, you've got to, I mean, you know, talking about ionic exchange, you've got to let all the bad ions that are sitting on top of your skin, like for example, reactive oxygen species and you know, all of these things, you gotta get them out of there, you know, get them off your skin so they're not damaging your skin barrier, they're not damaging what's already, you know, intact.
- 30:12SPEAKER_04: And that's the biggest problem.
- 30:14SPEAKER_04: But for some reason, as an industry, we keep thinking we need to go all the way down to the dermis to fix anything.
- 30:23SPEAKER_04: You don't, you don't do that.
- 30:25SPEAKER_04: You just need to make sure that your the top layer of your skin is not riddled in all of these bad species of oxygen or or different ions that are interacting with different lipids and you know, all that stuff.
- 30:38SPEAKER_04: So I think that your approach is actually very, you know, for lack of lack of a better term, it's very novel in that way because not enough brands are focusing on that where we should be.
- 30:49SPEAKER_04: You know, that's really that's the essence of skin health, is how it looks on the surface.
- 30:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 30:54SPEAKER_02: Yes, yes.
- 30:55SPEAKER_02: And and you know, the thing is, is that and not damaging what's going on underneath.
- 30:59SPEAKER_02: And so it's like a glycolic.
- 31:01SPEAKER_02: When you use glycolic alone, that can over time dry the skin.
- 31:05SPEAKER_02: That's a known fact, right?
- 31:06SPEAKER_02: I'm not telling anything out of school, but we, you know, know that in the industry, but the consumer doesn't know that.
- 31:12SPEAKER_02: So you're you're really breaking down those cellular walls in a way that, as you notice, someone who overuses um glycolic could be very thinning to the skin.
- 31:22SPEAKER_02: But, you know, that's not to disclaim it.
- 31:26SPEAKER_02: It's just the point is that, you know, harming the skin is not what we're looking to do with our products or or a science, right?
- 31:33SPEAKER_02: We're trying to nurture it, we're trying to bring back the life of our skin.
- 31:38SPEAKER_02: And even though the epidermis has its, you know, it's shutting off dead skin cells, we still have the ability to keep that skin moist and healthy.
- 31:47SPEAKER_02: And and you said something that I wanted to mention to you and to the audience is that skin has a memory.
- 31:55SPEAKER_02: People don't think about that, but skin has a memory.
- 31:59SPEAKER_02: And what that really, really means to us is that that memory is that think about when a baby gets a cut, gets a cut and it heals, and you know, like, oh wow, that that that went away.
- 32:10SPEAKER_02: It didn't scar because it didn't go too deep, right?
- 32:13SPEAKER_02: But if we get a cut today and it's just surface, it'll scar and it, you know, it will scar us.
- 32:19SPEAKER_02: So because the skin has ability to actually go in and repair itself, it knows how to do that, but when it goes too deep, it's very difficult because of the way that the skin heals itself, but it has still has that memory to heal itself.
- 32:35SPEAKER_02: That's why you get a cut, you heal it, it heals, and you go on with your day because it has the ability and memory.
- 32:42SPEAKER_02: People don't think about that.
- 32:43SPEAKER_02: So that's why when using things that are safe for the skin that are not going to for for you know, the words like antioxidants or or free radicals, these are things that people they know it, they see it, they hear the word, but they don't see how that's playing in their day-to-day stressors for their skin, right?
- 33:02SPEAKER_02: And and they're not replacing it with anything to get the skin to stay healthy and to be hydrated, and also then to be only hydrate, not only hydrated, but lubricated, because that's what that's what the skin is saying.
- 33:16SPEAKER_02: All I want to do is I want to stay hydrated and lubricated, because that's what I know best.
- 33:21SPEAKER_02: I need some water and I need some oil.
- 33:24SPEAKER_02: We have to lock the water in, we put the oil on, right?
- 33:27SPEAKER_02: So that's a simple sign of you know making making it work.
- 33:31SPEAKER_02: But you know, it's what the what's in those ingredients that can be disruptors on top of it, if you're using products that have a lot of chemicals and are known to have a lot of chemicals that are disruptors to the hormone system, to the endocrine system in that sense of hormones, um, and also to other factors of being absorbed into the body because the skin is the largest organ.
- 33:54SPEAKER_02: So, you know, I'm as I use the Bellinite oil from the desert day tree.
- 33:59SPEAKER_02: Um, I also use things like uh sunflower, right?
- 34:04SPEAKER_02: I use um moringo butter, um, I also use burgundy grapeseed, white grapeseed.
- 34:10SPEAKER_02: These are really delicious, really delicious ingredients for the skin and for the nature of the skin, of what it will do for the skin, create a little activity or give it that anti-inflammatory aspect.
- 34:22SPEAKER_02: Because the clay water, although it is what we call the ionic exchange, as you know, you know this very well, I know, that skin is ages one because chronologically chronologically, but also due to the inflammation in the body that causes illnesses, right?
- 34:41SPEAKER_02: Exactly, exactly, yeah.
- 34:43SPEAKER_02: So the skin, the same thing.
- 34:45SPEAKER_02: We have so much inflammation in our skin because it rises to the top when it's in our body.
- 34:51SPEAKER_02: And if we could do this topically, whether it be through my body serum that we're using after a shower, after bath, after after being in the sun, we're nurturing that skin and we're putting the skin back intact, right?
- 35:04SPEAKER_02: Because of the nature of the oil, the nature of the clay water in there.
- 35:08SPEAKER_02: Um, and then the same thing with the with the other, like we have Baobob.
- 35:12SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh, there's such a great ingredient to help with our vitamin C.
- 35:17SPEAKER_02: We get that also from Africa.
- 35:20SPEAKER_02: And you know, we work with the uh rainforest and a lot of ingredients from there as well in India.
- 35:25SPEAKER_02: So, so so a lot of people say, Oh, we're Aervetic.
- 35:28SPEAKER_02: Well, we are Aervetic, right?
- 35:30SPEAKER_02: We also are um a lot of people will say probiotic or prebiotic.
- 35:35SPEAKER_02: We're that too because we we have fermented ingredients in there.
- 35:38SPEAKER_02: When when we do our hyaluronic, we have fermented beets in that.
- 35:42SPEAKER_02: When we do our um, we have an exfoliating motion, which is glycolic and lactic, and that is with fermented beets.
- 35:50SPEAKER_02: That's what we use for our glycolic, fermented beets.
- 35:53SPEAKER_02: Isn't that fascinating?
- 35:54SPEAKER_02: I love that.
- 35:55SPEAKER_04: And you know what?
- 35:56SPEAKER_04: Here's the thing: like, I'm gonna, I really want for my audience, I want to I want to break something down for everybody that's listening, is this idea of what is it that your skin really needs?
- 36:06SPEAKER_04: We know that there's a lot of things about skin health that we don't know right now in terms of research.
- 36:12SPEAKER_04: We already know that.
- 36:13SPEAKER_04: Everybody knows that consumers, scientists, doctors, we all understand that, but there's a lot of things we do know, okay?
- 36:19SPEAKER_04: And and and one of the things that really fascinates me, and it really kind of um, I think is very applicable here, especially with your brand, Karen, is that we have this innate system in our body that allows for the excretion of waste products naturally.
- 36:36SPEAKER_04: And that happens through sweat, that happens through our urine, that happens through, you know, just normal getting rid of waste in any shape, any way we can.
- 36:47SPEAKER_04: Every organ is participating in this phenomena, by the way.
- 36:51SPEAKER_04: Every organ is going through it on its own.
- 36:53SPEAKER_04: That's why I don't believe in like actual topical detox products, because the body's already doing a detox.
- 37:00SPEAKER_04: That's what it does every day, you know.
- 37:02SPEAKER_04: So um, one what we really don't seem to be focused on is that okay, now that the body has gone through its normal mechanism of excreting waste, where do we, what do we need to do to help facilitate getting that waste off of us?
- 37:18SPEAKER_04: You know what I mean?
- 37:19SPEAKER_04: And getting it away.
- 37:21SPEAKER_04: And you know, and so when we when we think of it like that, it skincare becomes very easy because skin, then you start to understand what do you really need for good, proper skin health?
- 37:33SPEAKER_04: And what that is, is things that are going to again work on the surface of your skin.
- 37:38SPEAKER_04: Now, I know that a lot of people, you know, they really, really like the idea of, well, I want to keep my dermis healthy, I want to make sure there's enough, you know, um, illostin fibers, collagen fibers, all that good stuff.
- 37:49SPEAKER_04: I understand that, but your body, like, you know, it's a lot more sophisticated than we give it credit.
- 37:55SPEAKER_04: You know, when you're when you start lacking in anything, whether that's hyaluronic or collagen or anything that's crucial to the structure and the morphology of any organ, your body is gonna kick in and try to make more of it.
- 38:09SPEAKER_04: That's what it's made to do.
- 38:11SPEAKER_04: So we don't need to do too much to be doing that.
- 38:14SPEAKER_04: We need to be focusing on what we can do to aid the body.
- 38:18SPEAKER_04: And that I really believe, Karen.
- 38:20SPEAKER_04: No joke, at the end of the day, after all my years of studying science, I genuinely believe for every organ system, if we could just figure out how to aid our body rather than fix it, we will be advancing medical science by leaps and bounds every day.
- 38:36SPEAKER_04: I really believe that.
- 38:37SPEAKER_04: You know what I mean?
- 38:38SPEAKER_02: I'm I'm right with you on that.
- 38:40SPEAKER_02: And that's and that is why with immunicology I did it, is because I don't have to have 60 products to do what you just said.
- 38:48SPEAKER_02: I have 14.
- 38:50SPEAKER_02: And and to your point, the body knows how to excrete, right?
- 38:54SPEAKER_02: It's that's the why we have pores, that's why we have fingernails, that's why we have hair, that's why we, you know, all the other things that we go through to excrete from our body to get these toxins out.
- 39:06SPEAKER_02: And you know, the the one thing about um the green clay is you know, what sits in the epidermis in that sense, the green clay helps to pull that to out to the surface, anything that might be lodged in there, right?
- 39:18SPEAKER_02: So that's where that detox comes in with the green clay, which you know, the green clay is the strongest of all of the earth clays.
- 39:27SPEAKER_02: I don't know if you knew that or not.
- 39:28SPEAKER_02: Maybe you you did, but it is the strongest of all.
- 39:30SPEAKER_02: I mean, there are red clays or a black clay, but green clay has a combination of lava, bentonite, and kaolin, those three things that are in there that make up green clay in the earth.
- 39:43SPEAKER_02: And it's those things that help to draw that and take it to the like the home run, right?
- 39:47SPEAKER_02: So if it's sitting and lodged in, like you said, the body is secreting it.
- 39:52SPEAKER_02: But if it does, if this dead skin cells are sitting on the surface of your skin, you want that skin to breathe.
- 39:59SPEAKER_02: You want those dead skin cells off, which is what I'm trying to do through, you know, let's just say with my exfoliating lotion, because it has a little bit of glycolic and it has lactic acid in to get rid of those dead skin cells so the skin can breathe healthy.
- 40:13SPEAKER_02: You don't want to suffocate your skin, and that's what we need to do.
- 40:16SPEAKER_02: We don't have to do it through using lots of chemicals to do it.
- 40:19SPEAKER_02: We can do it through natural means, to your point.
- 40:23SPEAKER_04: Absolutely.
- 40:24SPEAKER_04: No, I 100% agree.
- 40:26SPEAKER_04: And you know, one of my favorite products, well, two of my favorite products, one of them is the Ionic Mist.
- 40:31SPEAKER_04: I love that product.
- 40:32SPEAKER_04: Yes, thank you.
- 40:34SPEAKER_04: It really works.
- 40:35SPEAKER_04: It's like one of the few mists I've used that's like a daily mist that actually does something.
- 40:40SPEAKER_04: Like I wanted to tell you that.
- 40:43SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's like I literally when I use it, you can see it on your skin.
- 40:47SPEAKER_04: Your skin just looks just like you just had a fresh uh wash.
- 40:51SPEAKER_04: You know what I mean?
- 40:52SPEAKER_04: Like you just cleansed it.
- 40:54SPEAKER_04: That's how it makes your skin look.
- 40:55SPEAKER_04: And then you follow up with like uh, you know, one of the beautiful serums or the moisturizer.
- 40:59SPEAKER_04: But I I also love, you know, before anything, um, and I wanted to actually mention this specifically for um, you know, immunology is this is the only mask, and you everybody knows I'm a huge addict when it comes to masks.
- 41:15SPEAKER_04: I love masks, but your mask is the only mask I'm I can honestly say that I can use it in replacement of a morning cleanse because now that we're now that we're coming to the winter time, our skin is more dry, right?
- 41:29SPEAKER_04: Yeah, well, for me, a little hack that I have is that instead of doing like a morning cleanse sometimes, I'll do a face mask.
- 41:37SPEAKER_04: And it's a clay mask, and the only one I use is yours, Karen, because it's it's beautiful, it's a beautiful clay mask, and so it pulls all those impurities out and it cleanses my skin, but it doesn't strip it and it doesn't leave it dry and flaky and just gross, you know.
- 41:54SPEAKER_04: You know how it is with cleansers in the morning.
- 41:57SPEAKER_04: So I do that a lot, and I and I find it that I find my skin happier, you know, when I do that.
- 42:03SPEAKER_04: That's a great way to say that.
- 42:05SPEAKER_02: Happier, yeah.
- 42:06SPEAKER_02: It's hydrated.
- 42:07SPEAKER_02: I love that because that, and that's you know, when we did our consumer study on this, we had uh I think 75 women in the study, maybe 50 to 75 um in the study, and and that's what they noticed from this.
- 42:21SPEAKER_02: And and when I got that news, it's just like you telling me and sharing this with me in the audience.
- 42:26SPEAKER_02: It's this it's it's so different.
- 42:29SPEAKER_02: And and you don't realize it because we all have gotten so conditioned to think, oh, a mask is a mask or clay is clay.
- 42:37SPEAKER_02: And um, I'm so glad we're talking about that because that's what got me through, by the way.
- 42:42SPEAKER_02: That that this mask is what got me through.
- 42:44SPEAKER_02: That's why I I've made it like like important to talk about it.
- 42:48SPEAKER_02: So I'm so happy you're talking about it too.
- 42:51SPEAKER_04: No, I love it.
- 42:52SPEAKER_04: It's it's it's really one of the most extraordinary um masks that I've ever used because you know, like I I love maths because I I really believe in the philosophy that we've been discussing here, which is yes, you know, the real work is on the surface.
- 43:05SPEAKER_04: And I think maths are a really great approach.
- 43:07SPEAKER_04: And it's like you know, you have to, you have to.
- 43:10SPEAKER_04: And it's like it at the end of the day, you really need to start.
- 43:14SPEAKER_04: Like, you know, my my goal is for everyone listening, anyone that we can reach, you know, through our conversations, please figure out what your skin needs.
- 43:23SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 43:24SPEAKER_04: Don't just go with the hype, don't go with people saying you need this, you don't need this.
- 43:28SPEAKER_04: No, figure out what's wrong with my skin and how can I fix it, you know?
- 43:33SPEAKER_04: And and that is where you have to start looking at brands like immunology because you have to start looking at the the philosophy of what's going on here and the real science.
- 43:45SPEAKER_04: You know, science can be cool, but if you don't know how to apply that science, it's pretty much a moo point.
- 43:50SPEAKER_04: You know what I mean?
- 43:51SPEAKER_04: So it's like there's a lot of brands out there in the space that are saying, I'm very science heavy, we're very science oriented, great, wonderful.
- 44:00SPEAKER_04: I can't wait to see your trials.
- 44:01SPEAKER_04: But here's my thing when it comes to everyday application, what are what is your product really doing for me?
- 44:07SPEAKER_04: I mean, a lot of times, I hate to say it, but a lot of those brands they fall short because it's a lot of theory and it's not a lot of application.
- 44:16SPEAKER_04: So that's where I think that you know immunology for me, you know, as a consumer stands out because you immediately notice that this is a this is something that's really working for me.
- 44:26SPEAKER_04: It's a great maintenance brand.
- 44:28SPEAKER_04: That's another thing I wanted to mention to you is that you know, we don't focus enough on maintenance, skin maintenance.
- 44:34SPEAKER_02: And that is so true.
- 44:35SPEAKER_04: Yeah, like it's it's like we need more of that.
- 44:38SPEAKER_04: I don't know why people are not you know focused on that.
- 44:41SPEAKER_04: Like your skin isn't just gonna be okay if you exfoliate it once a week.
- 44:45SPEAKER_03: Yes, exactly.
- 44:46SPEAKER_02: You need to maintain it.
- 44:48SPEAKER_02: And and and and I also say, you know, women out there or men who are having Botox, what are you doing seven days a week, you know, morning and night for your skin?
- 44:58SPEAKER_02: If you're spending money doing that, you need to be on a good skincare program that's really going to be healthy for you because you're doing other things that may not not be the best, or I mean, whatever it is that you're doing.
- 45:11SPEAKER_02: So think about what you're doing on a day-to-day basis, morning and night for the skin, and keeping your skin healthy and keeping being the largest organ of the body, what's going on your skin in your body, make sure those are healthy things that are going in, right?
- 45:27SPEAKER_04: Absolutely, absolutely.
- 45:28SPEAKER_04: And I, you know, I'm I'm really a firm believer in the idea of like not less is more, really, because everyone's saying that right now, and I don't really believe less is more.
- 45:38SPEAKER_04: I believe that if you can make a product that's packed with everything you need, not yeah, extra, then that's perfect.
- 45:46SPEAKER_02: That's perfect, you know?
- 45:48SPEAKER_02: Well, like, yeah, yeah.
- 45:50SPEAKER_02: And that's what I tried to do with immunology.
- 45:52SPEAKER_02: I didn't want to make it overly complicated.
- 45:55SPEAKER_02: So, and because I made it simple, sometimes it seems like, well, shouldn't I do be doing more?
- 46:00SPEAKER_02: No, I kept it simple.
- 46:01SPEAKER_02: It's a minimalist brand with with high integrity, right, and effectiveness.
- 46:06SPEAKER_02: And you know, part of that is the energy that these products bring to the skin.
- 46:10SPEAKER_02: But I want to mention something as you were talking with in the clay.
- 46:14SPEAKER_02: Sometimes people don't realize this, and it's been so much fun sharing it.
- 46:18SPEAKER_02: You know, it's that do-it-yourself kind of thing where you can turn the clay mask if you don't have time to do the mask and let it dry.
- 46:26SPEAKER_02: Then take a little bit of water in your fingers and make it into a scrub.
- 46:29SPEAKER_02: And it has a nice way of polishing the skin, cleansing the skin, and then also detoxing the surface layer of the skin.
- 46:37SPEAKER_02: So you can use it as a scrub.
- 46:39SPEAKER_02: I bet you you didn't know that one.
- 46:41SPEAKER_02: I didn't know that.
- 46:42SPEAKER_02: You just taught me a trick.
- 46:46SPEAKER_02: It's so fabulous.
- 46:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 46:47SPEAKER_02: And if anyone, if anyone has my cleansing lotion, they can mix it a little bit in with the clay mask when they're going to do that and make a creamy clay cleanser.
- 46:57SPEAKER_02: If you have a little more oily skin and you want to, you know, but it's a little maybe a little more dry, you could do that too.
- 47:03SPEAKER_02: So we can customize it.
- 47:04SPEAKER_02: So it's a DIY, right?
- 47:06SPEAKER_02: Do it yourself.
- 47:07SPEAKER_02: You can create your own little cleanser and this it will top it off.
- 47:10SPEAKER_02: You will love this part.
- 47:11SPEAKER_02: So with my exfoliating, exfoliating lotion, which is actually with the fermented beets, it's glycolic and lactic to help remove those surface dead skin cells, which we were just talking about.
- 47:23SPEAKER_02: You can take a little of that and give your cleanser a little more like energy, a little more push, right?
- 47:29SPEAKER_02: Because then you're creating a creamy exfoliating cleanser, or you'll love this one.
- 47:36SPEAKER_02: Take that exfoliating lotion and put it in with your cleansing mask and just power that up a little bit with your exfoliating lotion by giving that, excuse me, giving the mask a little more power with that glycolic and lactic.
- 47:49SPEAKER_02: So it's really gonna have a beautiful polishing effect of getting rid of those dead the dead skin cells so that you can when you're when you put those serums on your skin, they'll be that much more effective for you.
- 48:01SPEAKER_04: I love that.
- 48:02SPEAKER_04: Oh my god, I'm gonna try all of this, by the way.
- 48:04SPEAKER_04: Like as soon as we get off the phone, I'm gonna be like playing around with all of my products.
- 48:10SPEAKER_04: I that's so cool though.
- 48:11SPEAKER_04: I mean, you've that's see, that is like I really believe that that is good formulation.
- 48:17SPEAKER_04: If you can mix and match and you can create something that's perfect for you using the products you already have, that's where you know that a brand has done due diligence to their consumers because you, you know, you know the whole idea of like pilling and all of that, right, Karen?
- 48:34SPEAKER_04: Like there's so many problems with that.
- 48:36SPEAKER_04: You know, yes, but you know, that's because that's a but bad formulation, or someone's telling you to just pile on too much stuff, you know, and that's that's really something that I try to stay away from.
- 48:47SPEAKER_04: But to be able to combine things like the way you explain, that's amazing.
- 48:51SPEAKER_04: I I think people need to do that more.
- 48:54SPEAKER_04: You know, that's that's really, really important.
- 48:56SPEAKER_04: And also, you know, more one thing that I've really noticed about the brand, I wanted to mention, um, you had brought up the the cleansing, the lotion, right?
- 49:03SPEAKER_04: And I find that to be the most gentle yet effective cleanser I've ever used.
- 49:09SPEAKER_04: Kid you not, I've used it like when I'm not at home and not even near like a huge thing of water where I can actually like, you know, and I've just wiped it off with like a wet uh washcloth.
- 49:19SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's amazing.
- 49:21SPEAKER_04: It's amazing.
- 49:22SPEAKER_04: It's so good.
- 49:23SPEAKER_04: Like, and you know what I love about the products, and this is across the brand.
- 49:28SPEAKER_04: Every product will leave your skin feeling nourished.
- 49:32SPEAKER_04: End of story.
- 49:33SPEAKER_04: Yeah, that is how it is with every single product at the line.
- 49:37SPEAKER_04: Like, it's not like you're not gonna ever use a product in the immunology line and feel like, oh my god, my skin is stripped.
- 49:43SPEAKER_04: Oh my gosh, now I have to add on a moisturizer on top.
- 49:47SPEAKER_04: I have to do this.
- 49:48SPEAKER_04: No, it never makes you feel like that.
- 49:50SPEAKER_04: So it's a great brand for people who are like on the go a lot.
- 49:54SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you know what I mean?
- 49:55SPEAKER_02: Yeah, simple, yeah, because it's simple.
- 49:57SPEAKER_02: And if you're traveling, take that mist with you.
- 49:59SPEAKER_02: I know you probably have done that many times, but taking that mist with you on the plane is 3.4 ounces.
- 50:04SPEAKER_02: You can put in your bag, spritz before you take off, spritz while you're flying, spritz when you're done.
- 50:10SPEAKER_02: Your skin will it will shake.
- 50:15SPEAKER_02: There's no fragrance, there's no like rose in it.
- 50:18SPEAKER_02: It's just clay water.
- 50:20SPEAKER_02: Really important.
- 50:22SPEAKER_02: And and um, it has just a touch of salicylic.
- 50:24SPEAKER_02: And the only reason is that helps with the inflammation, but that's the only reason we put that in there, just a little touch of it.
- 50:31SPEAKER_02: And you know, it's so amazing because I I fly a lot.
- 50:34SPEAKER_02: So with that, I always have it with me.
- 50:36SPEAKER_02: And of course, people look at like, what is that?
- 50:39SPEAKER_02: So I get to share with them.
- 50:41SPEAKER_04: You're like you're like me.
- 50:43SPEAKER_04: It's like we we take out the skincare bag once we're settled into the yeah, and you know, what one thing I always share with you in the audience is that you know, I have that lava mask.
- 50:53SPEAKER_02: I don't know if you've had a chance to try that yet.
- 50:55SPEAKER_04: Oh my gosh, yes, talk about the lava mask.
- 50:58SPEAKER_02: I love it.
- 50:59SPEAKER_02: Everyone, you have to try the lava mask.
- 51:01SPEAKER_02: So you put a little bit of water into the pouch and it heats up and it gets nice and warm.
- 51:06SPEAKER_02: Put it on the face, you can put serum on, but you could even do that while you're traveling, you know, bring it with you.
- 51:12SPEAKER_02: You want to do, you know, in the hotel room or you know, you whatever, whatever.
- 51:14SPEAKER_02: You just want to have a little self-care moment.
- 51:17SPEAKER_02: Um, it is so beautiful for that.
- 51:19SPEAKER_02: But also on the plane, you could do it there.
- 51:22SPEAKER_02: But you know, just using it at home on, you know, I call it um Sunday fun day, right?
- 51:27SPEAKER_02: And when you're you take a little self-care day.
- 51:30SPEAKER_02: And the reason I did this, you know how all of the um sheet masks are very um clammy and cold when you put them on.
- 51:38SPEAKER_02: Yes, I don't want to see.
- 51:41SPEAKER_04: Oh my god, my fiance is gonna like be he's exactly like Karen.
- 51:45SPEAKER_04: What you just said are exact words coming out of his mouth.
- 51:48SPEAKER_04: He's like, I like skincare, I just don't like the coldness of it.
- 51:52SPEAKER_04: And I'm like, Well, this is where I and I introduced him to the lava mask.
- 51:56SPEAKER_04: I was like, this is the mask that you need because you don't like cold things on your face.
- 52:01SPEAKER_04: So this is the perfect sheet mask for you.
- 52:03SPEAKER_04: Yes, yeah, exactly.
- 52:05SPEAKER_02: And so it has marine algae, which helps with collagen, and it also has hibiscus in it, and then it has the lava in it, and the lava with all the minerals.
- 52:13SPEAKER_02: So you just sort of moisten it, you know, just sort of massage it on the skin while you're laying down.
- 52:18SPEAKER_02: Everyone, you can hear the little crackling of the lava, which yeah, I know you heard that, and so soothing.
- 52:23SPEAKER_02: It's like you're bringing the spa home.
- 52:25SPEAKER_02: And then from that, but what from that is that you can put this is another do-it-yourself, you could put the clay mask underneath it if you want, just to get a little extra kind of you know, pore fighting, detoxing that surface layer of your skin, or you could put one of your serums on underneath it too, and help that to absorb into the skin because at that point the heat actually helps, you know, the pores to expand because pores don't really open and close.
- 52:51SPEAKER_02: But so this they they they contract, right?
- 52:54SPEAKER_02: In in in that sense.
- 52:55SPEAKER_02: So putting a serum on is great because it helps with the cellular walls as well.
- 53:00SPEAKER_02: So that heat is so beautiful on the skin and how it's so motivating for the skin, and the skin just glows afterwards.
- 53:09SPEAKER_02: And you've done something really good, and it's so so healthy and so pure for the skin.
- 53:15SPEAKER_02: So fun.
- 53:16SPEAKER_02: I love it.
- 53:16SPEAKER_04: No, I love it.
- 53:17SPEAKER_04: And and it's you know what?
- 53:19SPEAKER_04: That's what skinny heart is supposed to be, it's fun.
- 53:21SPEAKER_04: It really is.
- 53:22SPEAKER_04: It's supposed to be fun, it's and you know, and it's supposed to feel like a little chemistry lab.
- 53:26SPEAKER_04: That's how I think of it.
- 53:27SPEAKER_04: Like, you know, yes, you play around, you do what's best for you, you find the perfect combination, and then you you stick with it for at least a month, okay?
- 53:35SPEAKER_04: Exactly.
- 53:36SPEAKER_04: At least at least a month, yeah.
- 53:38SPEAKER_04: You know, and yeah, and then you'll see.
- 53:41SPEAKER_04: That's exactly, and that's the problem people have is that they're like, oh, I'm gonna use it once, and then if I don't see an immediate change, I'm gonna just quit.
- 53:48SPEAKER_04: Well, no, that makes absolutely no sense.
- 53:51SPEAKER_04: That's like saying I want I have a bacterial infection, and I go to my doctor and they give me an antibiotic regimen, and I only take one pill and I'm expecting it to go away.
- 54:00SPEAKER_04: That's the same thing, you know what I mean?
- 54:02SPEAKER_04: Yeah, you can't do that.
- 54:04SPEAKER_04: You have to you have to stick to things.
- 54:06SPEAKER_04: So I I I mean, I'm I'm just I'm just a huge fan of the line.
- 54:11SPEAKER_04: I I think that you know, the approach you've taken, Karen, it's just so it's really, I mean, for lack of a better way to explain it, it's a really simple approach in the sense of like the products are there, they work, they do what they're saying they're gonna do, but it's still very complicated at the end of the day because obviously, you know what I mean, the science is you know really playing in.
- 54:33SPEAKER_04: However, it's it's something that I think more than anything, it's a nourishing treatment for your skin, every product.
- 54:40SPEAKER_04: And that's where I love it.
- 54:42SPEAKER_04: It stands out to me because of that, you know.
- 54:45SPEAKER_02: And and and what you know, I so appreciate that because you know, that's why I did the super seven.
- 54:50SPEAKER_02: You know, a lot of people have vitamin C's and they have retinol products, and I thought, I don't want another Me Too product that people like, oh, your retinol is better than mine, or you know, you I wanted one that was going to actually meet the needs of all the things that we need, which a vitamin A will do and also vitamin C will do, and also what Botox does, right?
- 55:10SPEAKER_02: Because Botox is supposed to firm, tighten up that skin, right?
- 55:13SPEAKER_02: The five lines, plump them out.
- 55:17SPEAKER_02: And super seven is all about the seven signs of aging.
- 55:20SPEAKER_02: And so that has snail serum in it, which is actually that goop from the snails.
- 55:26SPEAKER_02: But the thing about that is that's been an ancient, ancient way of treating the skin and the Asian culture, and so it's a well-known ingredient.
- 55:36SPEAKER_02: And I decided to use this, and so if someone's vegan, they may not want to use it, but um, but I I did it because I know how effective it is for helping the skin regenerate its cells and renew the renewal side of this, and so it has um snail um serum actually has its own peptides ability to get rid of the cells and renew the cells and its own hyaluronic, which helps you know, adds to the hydration.
- 56:05SPEAKER_02: So, along with that, bringing in our burgundy grapeseed, our belly needs oil from the desert date tree from Africa, you know, this the white grapeseed, the sunflower, this gives the nature of the skin that hydration we were talking about and healthiness, but turning over the cells and helping with those seven signs of aging, such as the crow's feet or the outlines around our eyes or our upper lips or around our neck, right?
- 56:32SPEAKER_02: Or, you know, or sometimes around our mouth, or you know, where we have the lines from the nose down like the labrial, uh, the labrial um fold.
- 56:40SPEAKER_02: So, so this is there to give the skin that that you know and that beauty and that that sense of change without being chemically driven.
- 56:52SPEAKER_02: And yeah, every person, every person who ever uses it will come back and say, you know, I don't know why, but I've never had anyone tell me that my skin's looking great until I started using uncology.
- 57:05SPEAKER_02: And in and so the Super Seven has become our like big, big seller.
- 57:09SPEAKER_02: I mean, along with our clay and our water.
- 57:11SPEAKER_02: But um, you know, it's become a big seller because you know, women are looking to do something that's nurturing and gives the skin a glow.
- 57:20SPEAKER_02: But in the same time, it's sort of like that little secret.
- 57:22SPEAKER_02: Like, they like how did that happen to you, right?
- 57:25SPEAKER_02: But it's right, it's through the the cellular renewal that this product does underneath your moisturizer, and after you clean your skin, and it it's just so beautiful.
- 57:36SPEAKER_02: And I don't know if you've had a chance to try that one yet, but if you haven't, you have to try that one.
- 57:41SPEAKER_04: Yeah, no, I'm going to definitely uh check it out because I, you know, it I I know I've tried the um the hyaluronic serum and I really really like that one because it's it's a different hyaluronic in a way.
- 57:52SPEAKER_04: Like I it feels different, you know what I mean?
- 57:54SPEAKER_04: Like it it it makes your skin not sticky at all.
- 57:58SPEAKER_02: Yes, you don't get sticky, yes, yes, that's you know, which is huge, huge and it's perfect for under makeup.
- 58:06SPEAKER_04: I wanted to say that.
- 58:06SPEAKER_04: Like it's really, really good for like because I don't wear a lot of makeup anyways, but like when I do, a lot of times it's like either mineral makeup or it's some sort of makeup where if you screw up your skincare, you're gonna screw up this makeup.
- 58:19SPEAKER_04: You know what I mean?
- 58:19SPEAKER_04: So it's like you want to use products that are not gonna be like super, super sticky stuff that you you would usually use at night.
- 58:26SPEAKER_04: And this hyaluronic serum, um, by the brand, it's just it's beautiful.
- 58:31SPEAKER_04: It's like, you know, the most it's an elegant formula, like it goes on, thank you, soaks right in.
- 58:37SPEAKER_04: It's nice and like, you know, it's it's velvety when you put it on and it like feels wonderful, but like it's not gonna interrupt anything, is my point, you know, that you put on top.
- 58:47SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, because it's dull weighted.
- 58:49SPEAKER_02: People don't know what that really means, but just give a short explanation of that is just means it brings water into the skin and up to the skin because it's dull weighted, it has the ability to absorb into the skin.
- 59:00SPEAKER_02: Where when you have the heavy, sticky hyaluronics, it's just sitting on as a layer on the top surface of the skin.
- 59:07SPEAKER_02: This is true, this is a true hyaluronic.
- 59:09SPEAKER_02: And it's it's it's been it's based off of also working with fermented beets.
- 59:14SPEAKER_02: So we're taking this in and taking the molecules.
- 59:17SPEAKER_02: Think about the moisture that's in the ear, right?
- 59:20SPEAKER_02: We take those molecules and we it brings those molecules, attracts it attracts those moist molecules from the outside to the topic of our the topical of our skin.
- 59:31SPEAKER_02: And then because of the weight of it, it uh as it goes in and brings water up to the skin and it attracts there too.
- 59:37SPEAKER_02: It's really phenomenal.
- 59:38SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's you know, the way the science of this product is, but it feels so like velvety, like you said, just it's very nice.
- 59:45SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's very guys love it, and guys love it because it they can use this as a their moisturizer opposed to sometimes they don't like goopy things.
- 59:53SPEAKER_02: So this acts like a very good moisturizer for guys.
- 59:56SPEAKER_04: I love that.
- 59:58SPEAKER_04: See, that's really that's really, really important.
- 1:00:00SPEAKER_04: And also, this is a great, um, also another great uh product for flight, by the way.
- 1:00:05SPEAKER_04: Yes, yes, for when listening.
- 1:00:07SPEAKER_04: This is really great.
- 1:00:08SPEAKER_04: If you put this on and then you just spritz on your like you do the ionic mist on top, you're gonna be good.
- 1:00:14SPEAKER_04: Like you're not gonna get that dryness at all after the flight.
- 1:00:17SPEAKER_04: Like it's gonna be, you know, your skin's gonna be great.
- 1:00:19SPEAKER_04: So, and it's only one fluid ounce.
- 1:00:21SPEAKER_04: Like you can take this with you.
- 1:00:23SPEAKER_04: It's got a beautiful, like, you know, packaging.
- 1:00:25SPEAKER_04: It's really easy to like, you know, carry around.
- 1:00:28SPEAKER_04: That's another thing, is like you've made everything so easy to like just take from one place to another because I know a lot of us have this like big, you know, treasure trove of our skincare.
- 1:00:38SPEAKER_04: Yeah, exactly.
- 1:00:39SPEAKER_04: I do at least, I'm not gonna lie.
- 1:00:42SPEAKER_04: You know, it's it's very it gets very daunting sometimes to figure out, you know, what can I take with me and and travel and stuff.
- 1:00:48SPEAKER_04: So for everyone, um, you know, if you're looking for a really great hologramic that you can take with you and it's actually going to be really helpful during a flight, you know, with all that dehydration that occurs, this is it.
- 1:00:59SPEAKER_04: You know, it's a great one.
- 1:01:00SPEAKER_04: So check it out.
- 1:01:02SPEAKER_04: But no, Karen, this has been so great.
- 1:01:04SPEAKER_04: You're you're really, you know, I I love the line.
- 1:01:07SPEAKER_04: I really do.
- 1:01:08SPEAKER_04: I think it's a very very needed line.
- 1:01:12SPEAKER_04: I think that it actually, honest to God, it falls in its own niche, in my opinion, because yeah, there's nothing else like it out there on the market right now.
- 1:01:22SPEAKER_04: I mean, it's it's gentle yet effective.
- 1:01:24SPEAKER_04: It's backed by science and you know, naturopathic remedies.
- 1:01:29SPEAKER_04: It's backed by everything that you would want to think about when you're thinking about what can I, what can I really utilize, you know, to better my skin overall.
- 1:01:36SPEAKER_04: So I'm a huge fan.
- 1:01:38SPEAKER_04: I love it.
- 1:01:38SPEAKER_04: I use it a lot.
- 1:01:40SPEAKER_04: So um, everyone listening, I want you to check out the whole line.
- 1:01:44SPEAKER_04: But if there's any products that you want to start with, I I'm telling you, start with the the serum.
- 1:01:50SPEAKER_04: Um, it's called seven, seven?
- 1:01:52SPEAKER_02: Yes, super seven.
- 1:01:53SPEAKER_02: Super seven.
- 1:01:55SPEAKER_04: Okay, so start there.
- 1:01:57SPEAKER_04: I mean, because I always try to give tips, right?
- 1:01:59SPEAKER_04: Where like more people can do their skincare routines.
- 1:02:01SPEAKER_04: So I'm like thinking if you want a cleanser, a serum, and then a moisturizer, a great place to start is to get the clay mask, get the clay mask, and then get the um the cleansing lotion, and then also the the super serum, the you know, super seven serum, and then just start there and see how it goes and get open.
- 1:02:20SPEAKER_04: Yeah, keep it simple and get the ionic mist, you know, to just kind of freshen up during the day and you're good.
- 1:02:27SPEAKER_04: You'll be good.
- 1:02:28SPEAKER_04: Like after you use that for 30 days, you guys, you're gonna start noticing your skin is different.
- 1:02:33SPEAKER_04: You're gonna notice, you're gonna even before that, you're gonna notice why?
- 1:02:37SPEAKER_04: Because it's a it's a regimen you can actually stick to, you know, it's not 18 steps, it's not, you know, crazy like exfoliation, crazy all this active stuff.
- 1:02:48SPEAKER_04: No, it's just it's natural, it looks, it works the way it's supposed to work, is my point, you know, and and that's what we want.
- 1:02:55SPEAKER_02: So that's it's so beautiful, thank you.
- 1:02:57SPEAKER_02: So well said, and and and I will say the energy that it presents to everyone that uses immunecology, that positive energy that you feel from it as well, and just just talking about it.
- 1:03:08SPEAKER_02: Don't don't you feel this the positivity of the energy of those ionic exchange in there?
- 1:03:13SPEAKER_04: Absolutely, yeah.
- 1:03:15SPEAKER_04: I really, really, really love it.
- 1:03:16SPEAKER_04: Like I think the whole line is just it's geared towards positivity, you know, because it was created from a place of, you know, whenever you have something that's created from a place of like you really need a solution, I feel like there's so much positivity that comes from that.
- 1:03:32SPEAKER_04: And I, you know, I can't, you know, just I I can't rave enough about like what you've been through and and what you've created out of that.
- 1:03:41SPEAKER_04: That's remarkable, you know.
- 1:03:43SPEAKER_04: And and so I I I'm a huge believer in that, you know, if you put good energy out there, it's going to reflect in everything you do.
- 1:03:49SPEAKER_04: And you've definitely done that, Karen.
- 1:03:51SPEAKER_04: So, you know, really, yeah.
