- 0:00Speaker 1: And the Kraken a power playload.
- 0:02Speaker 2: This is the kra Postgame Show, brought to you by
- 0:06Speaker 2: Toyota of Olympia. Now for an in depth look at
- 0:09Speaker 2: your Kraken hockey. It's the post game on the Global
- 0:13Speaker 2: Credit Union Kraken Audio Network.
- 0:16Speaker 1: For the final.
- 0:17Speaker 3: Times and I welcome back inside of Climate Pledge Arena
- 0:20Speaker 3: alongside al Kiniski evert fits you back with you Crack
- 0:24Speaker 3: and fall seven to four to the Ottawa Senators now
- 0:26Speaker 3: two and two on this six game homestand and partner,
- 0:30Speaker 3: I mean a couple of goals in that second perier
- 0:32Speaker 3: or that third period rather some window dressing on this
- 0:35Speaker 3: game to make it seven to four, but overall not
- 0:38Speaker 3: the best of nights for Seattle. I think the areas
- 0:42Speaker 3: of positive for the Kraken probably few and far between,
- 0:45Speaker 3: but an opportunity now for the Kraken to put.
- 0:48Speaker 4: This one behind them.
- 0:49Speaker 3: Full off day tomorrow, back at practice on Monday. Sounds
- 0:52Speaker 3: like hopefully that Bobby McMahon his immigration will be figured out,
- 0:57Speaker 3: can practice with the team and then play on Tuesday
- 0:59Speaker 3: against but ultimately won the Crack and will just love
- 1:02Speaker 3: to flush and forget and move.
- 1:04Speaker 1: On to Tuesday night against Nashville. Yeah.
- 1:06Speaker 5: I mean, when you're going into a third period down
- 1:07Speaker 5: four to two, you've got to lock things up in
- 1:10Speaker 5: your own end, and that starts with your goaltender, but
- 1:13Speaker 5: it's also your D zone structure. And Seattle wasn't able
- 1:15Speaker 5: to do that in the third period, giving up three
- 1:18Speaker 5: additional goals to Ottawa, and then they mounted a bit
- 1:21Speaker 5: of a comeback which put them back to four. So
- 1:23Speaker 5: you go back and look, and yes, it's easy to
- 1:25Speaker 5: go what if. But had they locked things up, they'd
- 1:27Speaker 5: been playing overtime right now.
- 1:29Speaker 3: I was gonna ask you, when you go back to
- 1:30Speaker 3: that first period, krack and have a one nothing lead.
- 1:33Speaker 3: They scored eight to forty five in Malonson gets his
- 1:36Speaker 3: second of the game. The fourth line was buzzing, as
- 1:38Speaker 3: they have been for the last two three months of
- 1:42Speaker 3: this season.
- 1:43Speaker 1: But from there it was all Ottawa.
- 1:45Speaker 3: They scored four in a row, crack and get on
- 1:47Speaker 3: the board five left in the second period, and we
- 1:50Speaker 3: heard Ryan Winterton say that they played better at the
- 1:53Speaker 3: end of the second. They wanted to carry that momentum
- 1:56Speaker 3: into the third, but Ottawa comes out bam bam bam row.
- 2:00Speaker 3: In the first seven twenty four of that third period.
- 2:04Speaker 3: Where did you see the disconnect for Seattle. Maybe between
- 2:08Speaker 3: that first goal and the first and then the next
- 2:12Speaker 3: four for Ottawa and then that second goal for the
- 2:15Speaker 3: Crack and going into.
- 2:16Speaker 4: The third period.
- 2:17Speaker 5: Yeah, I thought it was their D zone, one hundred
- 2:19Speaker 5: percent their D zone, And you know there might have
- 2:21Speaker 5: been one or two in there that Joey Decord would
- 2:23Speaker 5: like to have back. But I thought there were too
- 2:25Speaker 5: many D zone breakdowns. We talked about this coming into
- 2:28Speaker 5: the game. Ottawa number one league for getting pucks to
- 2:31Speaker 5: the slot area. I think it was too easy too
- 2:33Speaker 5: many times today for them getting the pucks there.
- 2:35Speaker 3: Crack and fall seven to four to the Ottawa Senators
- 2:38Speaker 3: and an opportunity not a flush it and get to
- 2:40Speaker 3: Nashville coming up on Tuesday night. But first out over
- 2:44Speaker 3: to you for Mam McKay's key takeaways and your three stars.
- 2:47Speaker 5: Yeah, first of all, physicality, I thought that was a
- 2:50Speaker 5: big bright area for Seattle to night. It seemed like
- 2:52Speaker 5: when they started to have some success at the offensive
- 2:55Speaker 5: been to the ice, it often started with physicality. I
- 2:57Speaker 5: think in the end the Ottawas were able to equalize
- 3:01Speaker 5: some of that. Seattle still finishing with a couple extra hits,
- 3:04Speaker 5: but it was an important part to the game tonight,
- 3:06Speaker 5: speed not enough of it, certainly through the neutral zone.
- 3:09Speaker 5: I thought they had a difficult time getting rush chances
- 3:12Speaker 5: on these Autawa Center senators doing a good job clogging
- 3:15Speaker 5: up the middle of the ice. And then, as I
- 3:17Speaker 5: just mentioned, the zone breakdowns, just too many of them
- 3:20Speaker 5: tonight that Seattle was hurt on when they did breakdown
- 3:23Speaker 5: too many giveaways below their own blue line. Three Stars
- 3:27Speaker 5: of the night brought to you by Triple A of Washington.
- 3:29Speaker 5: Third Star goes to Ottawa's Thomas Schabbat He had two
- 3:33Speaker 5: assists tonight. Second Star to Ottawa's Michael Amadio. He had
- 3:36Speaker 5: a goal and assist in the First star to Ottawa's
- 3:39Speaker 5: Shane Pinto, he had a goal and two assists. Speaking
- 3:44Speaker 5: of stars, a Triple A of Washington card is the
- 3:46Speaker 5: star of any wallett you get roadside rescues, all sorts
- 3:49Speaker 5: of local discounts, and so much more.
- 3:51Speaker 6: Join at Triple Awa dot com.
- 3:54Speaker 1: That'll do it for us.
- 3:55Speaker 3: From Seattle cracking with a four seven to four loss
- 4:00Speaker 3: at home to Ottawa.
- 4:01Speaker 1: They take both games. Do the sins of this season series?
- 4:05Speaker 3: Cracking now one five and one their last seven games
- 4:08Speaker 3: against Ottawa. Two more chances at the sense coming up
- 4:11Speaker 3: next season to right that ship. But for now, across
- 4:15Speaker 3: the street we go Tom's watchbar, Mike Benton standing by
- 4:19Speaker 3: to take you the rest of the way.
- 4:20Speaker 7: Mike, you Bee, Everett, thank you very much here in
- 4:22Speaker 7: Otawa's certainly showing that they mean business here for a
- 4:25Speaker 7: game like tonight and for the Kraken. Not exactly how
- 4:28Speaker 7: matters were drawn up, but they get some help in
- 4:31Speaker 7: the standings and now left to reassess the seating because
- 4:35Speaker 7: they have a big one, and I mean a big
- 4:37Speaker 7: one coming up next Tuesday when Nashville rolls into town
- 4:41Speaker 7: and they are very much in the thick of this
- 4:44Speaker 7: playoff mix as well. Crack and fall seven to four

- 8:06Speaker 7: the Crack and losing Jayden Schwartz by the end of
- 8:09Speaker 7: the first period in this game, getting out the tracks
- 8:11Speaker 7: not too long after that, and the Kraken looking to
- 8:14Speaker 7: settle matters here as far as what happened for their
- 8:17Speaker 7: game defensively in a seven to four loss here to
- 8:20Speaker 7: Ottawa as the Senators take both games in this head
- 8:23Speaker 7: to head series, and the Crack and falling to two
- 8:26Speaker 7: and two now in this homestand and looking to write
- 8:29Speaker 7: the ship in a big one coming up next when
- 8:32Speaker 7: they host Nashville. Very much in the thick of this
- 8:34Speaker 7: playoff race as we mentioned, and the Crack and looking
- 8:37Speaker 7: to in the meantime get some help here in the standings.
- 8:41Speaker 1: We'll talk more about that later on here.
- 8:42Speaker 7: The cracking record though falling to twenty nine, twenty four
- 8:46Speaker 7: and nine point total ADS sixty seven here in this
- 8:48Speaker 7: fourth game of a six game homestand Ottawa improving to
- 8:53Speaker 7: thirty one, twenty two and nine point total AD seventy four.
- 8:57Speaker 7: They have just one loss in regulation in the last
- 9:01Speaker 7: eleven games eight one and two in nashtretch and time

- 9:26Speaker 7: here we go from Tom's watch bar, Mike betting again
- 9:28Speaker 7: with you for the Crack and looking to get off
- 9:31Speaker 7: and rolling here with a guy who has been helping
- 9:33Speaker 7: them recently to get going, rolling with energy.
- 9:37Speaker 3: Three on two through center for Seattle, Ben Myers left side,
- 9:40Speaker 3: Winchard TIMPs.
- 9:41Speaker 13: In front Tipton golf.
- 9:50Speaker 3: The third vine, crashing the goal for Seattle.
- 9:55Speaker 14: Jacob Malonson finds the back of the net a second
- 10:00Speaker 14: time this season.
- 10:01Speaker 1: Enough racking draw first won.
- 10:04Speaker 14: Nothing eleven fourteen to play in the.
- 10:06Speaker 5: Opening twenty on free on two rush that Ben Meyers
- 10:09Speaker 5: starts right at the offensive blue line, he dishes it
- 10:11Speaker 5: over to Winterton. Winterton gets a float over gris shot
- 10:15Speaker 5: on debt that Myers deflex that leaves a big, juicy
- 10:19Speaker 5: rebound for Malons and he steps around all Mark puts
- 10:22Speaker 5: it in the back one nothing cracking.
- 10:24Speaker 7: Ever since he had arrived earlier this season. Jacob Allonson,
- 10:28Speaker 7: it seems like any given night, providing either energy and
- 10:31Speaker 7: or physicality and or scoring touch.
- 10:34Speaker 1: He takes care of the job on the ladder.
- 10:36Speaker 7: Right here for his second goal of the season with
- 10:38Speaker 7: hard work at the front of the net, coming at
- 10:40Speaker 7: a forty five from Ben Myers and Ryan Winterton. All
- 10:44Speaker 7: because of a cracking lineup shuffle here due to illness,
- 10:47Speaker 7: Winterton inserted and immediately that move paying off to help
- 10:51Speaker 7: make it one nothing, kracking at a forty five ap
- 10:54Speaker 7: peering in one, but Ottawa had an answered. Just thirty
- 10:57Speaker 7: four seconds later, Tyler Clevin tied the game mop a
- 11:00Speaker 7: breakdown at the left circle. His second goal of the
- 11:03Speaker 7: year coming in nine to nineteen from Shane Pinto and
- 11:06Speaker 7: Michael Lamadio made it all square at one. After that,
- 11:11Speaker 7: what does Ottawa had to offer? When Dylan Cousins finds
- 11:14Speaker 7: timeon's face, Cousins right.
- 11:16Speaker 13: Wing around McCant shoots scores.
- 11:22Speaker 3: Dylan Cousins, using Jared McCann as a screen, was able
- 11:27Speaker 3: to get to core, leading ever so slightly since go
- 11:31Speaker 3: back to back.
- 11:32Speaker 7: They take a two oneth lead and unfortunately for the
- 11:35Speaker 7: crack and you can begin to really feel the game turn.
- 11:38Speaker 7: At that point, the Kraken had energy, they had volume
- 11:41Speaker 7: cranked up inside climbing pledge arena. But then the tie,
- 11:45Speaker 7: the tone, the complexion of it all changing. On Dylan
- 11:47Speaker 7: Cousins's twenty third goal of the season, coming a thirteen
- 11:50Speaker 7: thirty five beating Joey to Cord short side, right past
- 11:54Speaker 7: his glove.
- 11:55Speaker 1: Thomas Shabbat.
- 11:56Speaker 7: Nick Jensen had the assist on the play in Ottawa
- 11:58Speaker 7: carrying a two to one lean into the dressing room.
- 12:00Speaker 7: Also after a freakish and scary situation Jayden Schwartz nearby
- 12:05Speaker 7: and Ellie Tolvenin head took an aaron skate right toward
- 12:09Speaker 7: the face. He would get up on his own power
- 12:11Speaker 7: after being down for about a minute or two, but
- 12:14Speaker 7: then off to the tunnel.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Would not return here for this game the crack and.
- 12:19Speaker 7: Playing shorthanded without one of their leaders and trying to
- 12:22Speaker 7: find any kind of response. But Ottawa then began to
- 12:25Speaker 7: pull away, Shane Pinto scoring at one thirty four a
- 12:29Speaker 7: period two seventeen goal of the year from Artem Zubin.
- 12:32Speaker 7: Nick Cousins made it three to one, and then Michael Amadio,
- 12:35Speaker 7: off a breakdown right between the circles, got his tenth
- 12:38Speaker 7: to make it for one at ten to oh nine
- 12:41Speaker 7: period two. Shane Pinto and Cousins had the help her
- 12:45Speaker 7: on that play the crack and then looking for any
- 12:47Speaker 7: kind of answer to get this game in a U
- 12:50Speaker 7: turn direction.
- 12:51Speaker 1: And here's Ellie Tolvenan yo flurry takes out Nick Cousins.
- 12:55Speaker 1: Now a big blass tune sor Ellie tolven it steps
- 13:05Speaker 1: indul off.
- 13:06Speaker 14: Bob from the right side in by.
- 13:09Speaker 3: Olmark Kracket back to within a pair five to go.
- 13:13Speaker 3: On the second it's a four too.
- 13:15Speaker 1: Out of the lead.
- 13:15Speaker 5: Well, this is where physicality plays pays off partner. It
- 13:18Speaker 5: starts to obviously down at the other end of the
- 13:20Speaker 5: ice with random.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Montour throwing a big hit on Santason.
- 13:23Speaker 5: It continues down the Ottawa's end with a couple more
- 13:27Speaker 5: big hits and ultimately that puck gets back to the
- 13:30Speaker 5: point coming out of the corner to Toilvenen who steps
- 13:32Speaker 5: into a bullet from the top of the circles for
- 13:35Speaker 5: two sins.
- 13:36Speaker 7: Now, well, that was a big goal to get the
- 13:39Speaker 7: cracking back going in the right direction, but it wasn't
- 13:41Speaker 7: just about the end result.
- 13:42Speaker 1: It was also about how the play began.
- 13:44Speaker 7: Random Montor laid a big hit end of the ice
- 13:47Speaker 7: two hundred feet nearly down the other way, and that
- 13:49Speaker 7: got things going in the crack in favor, where Tolbnen
- 13:51Speaker 7: came through with his twelfth goal of the season five
- 13:54Speaker 7: minutes left in period two, putting a little bit of
- 13:57Speaker 7: extra ump into that shot from straight away twelve of
- 14:01Speaker 7: the year. That goal unassisted to make it a four
- 14:04Speaker 7: to two game and the crack and still had twenty
- 14:07Speaker 7: minutes here to manage to at least find two more,
- 14:11Speaker 7: but then defensive breakdowns would prove costly. Warren Fogel in
- 14:15Speaker 7: his Ottawa debut, picked up one day before the trade
- 14:18Speaker 7: deadline scoring in his Ottawa debut here had two forty
- 14:22Speaker 7: two a period three eighth goal of the year. Lars
- 14:24Speaker 7: Eller had the helper and that made it a five
- 14:27Speaker 7: to two Ottawa lead, and Tim Stutz left for the
- 14:30Speaker 7: left circle off Another breakdown reached the thirty goal plateau
- 14:34Speaker 7: at three fifty eights from Drake Bathurson six to Ottawa,
- 14:38Speaker 7: and then Brady could Schuck made it seven to two
- 14:40Speaker 7: at seven twenty four his sixteen goal of the year
- 14:43Speaker 7: from Thomas Shabbat the Krack and those still had more
- 14:46Speaker 7: offense in them and eveniers deflection front of the net
- 14:49Speaker 7: ten to sixteen of the third period from Calee Flurry
- 14:51Speaker 7: and Jordan Everley made it a seven to three game,
- 14:53Speaker 7: and then Ottawa got into a bit of a sticky situation,
- 14:58Speaker 7: eventually falling to a five three disadvantage. First off, it
- 15:02Speaker 7: was Tyler Clevin in the box of sixteen thirty five
- 15:05Speaker 7: two for slashing five for cross checking in a game
- 15:08Speaker 7: misconduct as well. Jereed McCann and also offer roughing. But
- 15:12Speaker 7: then matters compounded with lar Zeller in the box for
- 15:14Speaker 7: hooking at sixteen to fifty eight and.
- 15:16Speaker 1: The Kraken with one more goal in.
- 15:18Speaker 7: Then Brandon Montor, on a five on three situation seventeen
- 15:22Speaker 7: forty five, got his eighth goal from Vince Dunn and
- 15:25Speaker 7: Jordan Eberley to make his seven to four. The Cracking
- 15:28Speaker 7: still on a major power play bup, unable to cash
- 15:30Speaker 7: in any further seven to four, Ottawa over the Kraken.
- 15:34Speaker 7: There's your final score this evening here from Climb and
- 15:37Speaker 7: Pledge Arena. Final shots on net thirty six to twenty
- 15:40Speaker 7: one in favor of Ottawa. Powerplays wise Ottawa going zer
- 15:44Speaker 7: for two, the Kracking going one for five in the game,
- 15:47Speaker 7: and the win in net to Linas Olmark seventeen saves
- 15:52Speaker 7: on twenty one shots on net, the loss in net
- 15:55Speaker 7: to Joey Decord. This evening's seven goals allowed on thirty
- 15:59Speaker 7: six shots. Olmark's record now eighteen are bigger part in
- 16:03Speaker 7: nineteen eight and seven and a Cord falling to eighteen
- 16:07Speaker 7: fourteen and five time now for the corse light chillless
- 16:10Speaker 7: moments of the game and again, cracking fans, you can
- 16:12Speaker 7: win your chance to sit in the corse light silver seats.
- 16:16Speaker 7: Go to courselight dot com forward slash Seattlecraken to enter.
- 16:20Speaker 7: Must be twenty one years of age. No purchase necessary,
- 16:23Speaker 7: course light, juice, chill, celebrate responsibly well. Joey the court
- 16:28Speaker 7: facing battles all night long here, but proving earlier early
- 16:32Speaker 7: in the game he had one big battle in him
- 16:35Speaker 7: to prove a statement on the far.
- 16:37Speaker 13: Side bath or sit now Shabbat left circle, put some
- 16:40Speaker 13: move on macad and Joey the cordal comes out, makes
- 16:44Speaker 13: the saving holds on. Oh my goodness, what a move
- 16:51Speaker 13: coming down the near side for Shabbat, and then Joey
- 16:57Speaker 13: the cord able to close the wicked and keep that
- 17:01Speaker 13: fuck out.
- 17:02Speaker 7: Too bad here because the krack and we're managing issues
- 17:05Speaker 7: and virtually every area of the ice here for this evening.
- 17:07Speaker 7: But Joey to court early on, showing that despite what
- 17:10Speaker 7: Ottawa is offering, battling enough to make a very impressive
- 17:14Speaker 7: closing the past type of toast Savy made against the
- 17:17Speaker 7: posts as well. One of the more adventurous saves that
- 17:21Speaker 7: he had here in this game, and that matters with
- 17:23Speaker 7: a nothing nothing tie. He flashed forward toward the very
- 17:27Speaker 7: end of this one where the kracking getting a five
- 17:29Speaker 7: on three situation, and who do they look toward to

- 35:51Speaker 7: but the energy at Tom's Washbar is electric too. Steps
- 35:55Speaker 7: from Climate Pledge Arena, Tom's Washbar, all the sports, all
- 35:59Speaker 7: the time. Andrews will bring you here into the conversation
- 36:03Speaker 7: with just a few thoughts. I had here from tonight
- 36:07Speaker 7: since the Olympic break four wins in six losses, and
- 36:11Speaker 7: for a game like.
- 36:12Speaker 1: This after you acquire a piece that supposed to help you.
- 36:16Speaker 7: He is not here yet in Bobby McMahon, but then
- 36:19Speaker 7: Jordan Everley is extended for two more seasons. Did anybody
- 36:24Speaker 7: have seven goals allowed on the board? You'll lose seven
- 36:27Speaker 7: to four on your Bengo card. I definitely, definitely, definitely
- 36:31Speaker 7: think not, and I think for anybody as well, And
- 36:34Speaker 7: I'll lead you into this one right here.
- 36:37Speaker 1: When you are in the stretch.
- 36:38Speaker 7: Drive, intensity matters, detail matters, and certainly defense matters as well.
- 36:45Speaker 7: And I don't think if you're anybody who played in
- 36:48Speaker 7: this game wearing a Navy blue jersey, you walk away
- 36:53Speaker 7: with any kind of silver lining out of this one.
- 36:56Speaker 7: It officially is crunch time. Games like these happen period
- 37:01Speaker 7: from here on out.
- 37:02Speaker 24: Yeah, and especially coming out of the deadline. That is
- 37:05Speaker 24: not the way you want to kind of respond after
- 37:09Speaker 24: not trading away any of your pending UFAs and uh
- 37:13Speaker 24: getting a decent piece in Bobby McMahon to come and
- 37:16Speaker 24: help this team that's gonna step in right and be
- 37:18Speaker 24: a contributor. There was a lot of talk, a lot
- 37:21Speaker 24: of conversations surrounding the deadline and what this crack and
- 37:25Speaker 24: roster needed to do or not do to kind of
- 37:29Speaker 24: make themselves jump into that contender category.
- 37:32Speaker 1: I was one of those people.
- 37:34Speaker 24: No matter what you could have done the trade deadline,
- 37:37Speaker 24: if you play like you did tonight, you could have
- 37:40Speaker 24: Team Canada or Team USA's roster. They if they defend
- 37:43Speaker 24: like they did tonight, you're gonna lose almost every game
- 37:46Speaker 24: that you play. So this has nothing to do, in
- 37:49Speaker 24: my opinion, with what happened with the trading deadline. It's
- 37:52Speaker 24: more about what's going on inside of that locker room.
- 37:55Speaker 24: Because I just don't know how you can have the
- 37:58Speaker 24: game you had on Monday night against Carolina, then the
- 38:02Speaker 24: game you had on Wednesday night against Saint Louis, and
- 38:06Speaker 24: then this one tonight. It just I don't know how
- 38:10Speaker 24: you can go from that performance against one of the
- 38:13Speaker 24: best teams in the league to what you've done the
- 38:16Speaker 24: last two games against Saint Louis and Ottawa.
- 38:19Speaker 7: Because also, I mean, after you beat Carolina and Granty
- 38:21Speaker 7: your face can team that's gonna get off the bus
- 38:23Speaker 7: and just basically shoot pucks here for the next sixty
- 38:25Speaker 7: minutes at your goaltender. But yet you did a good
- 38:27Speaker 7: job to keep matters away from the inside of the ice.
- 38:31Speaker 7: You walk away disappointed from the Saint Louis game, and
- 38:34Speaker 7: I sense a lot of disappointment here from this game.
- 38:38Speaker 7: The alarming part was not just the seven goals that
- 38:41Speaker 7: were scored, but also how they were scored as well. Yeah,
- 38:45Speaker 7: defensive breakdown after defensive breakdown after defensive breakdown as well.
- 38:52Speaker 7: Lane Lambers's postgame press conference is going to be extremely
- 38:56Speaker 7: intriguing after this one. And it's unfortunate because you have
- 39:00Speaker 7: Jacob Alanson, who scores off a gritty, greasy, hard work
- 39:04Speaker 7: type of goal at the front of the net, and
- 39:06Speaker 7: then you give a right back up ban thirty four
- 39:08Speaker 7: seconds later. Ottawa then takes a lead on a goal
- 39:10Speaker 7: that if you enjoy the courd you want to have
- 39:12Speaker 7: back obviously here, but you really sends a tide begin
- 39:15Speaker 7: to turn, and a reset after period one just didn't
- 39:18Speaker 7: work ause Ottawa kept going further and further after that.
- 39:21Speaker 24: Look at these guys are professional athletes, and I realize
- 39:25Speaker 24: that the expectation is that you have the highest level
- 39:30Speaker 24: of mental toughness and you come out to play every
- 39:32Speaker 24: single night. The reality is, in an eighty two game
- 39:35Speaker 24: schedule in the NHL, not even the best teams in
- 39:39Speaker 24: the league are gonna have the the one hundred percent
- 39:43Speaker 24: capacity to be ready to play at the start of
- 39:46Speaker 24: every whistle. The best teams, the Colorados the Carolinas of
- 39:49Speaker 24: the world are gonna come out flat. Sometimes it's just
- 39:51Speaker 24: the reality of it. But when you're built the way
- 39:55Speaker 24: the Kraken are, they have to have to have to
- 39:58Speaker 24: be at that one hundred percent capacity level for them
- 40:02Speaker 24: to win hockey games. And expecting your team to do
- 40:06Speaker 24: that night in and night out, yes you can. You
- 40:08Speaker 24: can coach them up to that point. From Lane Lambert. Yes,
- 40:11Speaker 24: you can hope that your leadership within the locker room
- 40:15Speaker 24: is enough to kind of get players ready to go
- 40:18Speaker 24: kind of. They've embraced the mentality of hard to play against,
- 40:21Speaker 24: low scoring games two to one, three two games. But
- 40:25Speaker 24: when you're built this way, you're gonna have games like this.
- 40:28Speaker 24: And unfortunately, it's just the margins are too slim right
- 40:32Speaker 24: now when you're in this thick of a playoff hunt.
- 40:35Speaker 24: Thank god San Jose lost tonight. Yeah, because it could
- 40:38Speaker 24: have been ugly going in to the next couple of
- 40:41Speaker 24: days if they start to slip away from that playoff spot.
- 40:44Speaker 24: So I just think their margin is too thin for
- 40:48Speaker 24: them to perform like this in a semi inconsistent basis.
- 40:53Speaker 1: What's your reaction, folks again?
- 40:54Speaker 7: Four nine, four to five one on the Tacoma Dodge
- 40:56Speaker 7: text line again four nine four or five one? What
- 40:58Speaker 7: is shoes do you want to see corrected? By the
- 41:01Speaker 7: time the Kraken faced Nashville coming up on Tuesday, Oh boy,
- 41:04Speaker 7: that's gonna be a big game. And they had the
- 41:06Speaker 7: Predators twice also coming up here in the next nine
- 41:09Speaker 7: days four nine, four or five to one, crack and
- 41:11Speaker 7: fall seven to four will get more reaction from Brandon
- 41:13Speaker 7: Montour and head coach Lane Lambert shortly as the Crack
- 41:16Speaker 7: can get their goals scoring from Jacob Alanson, Elie Tolbin,
- 41:20Speaker 7: then Matty Beneers and Brandon Montur. And for Ottawa they
- 41:24Speaker 7: had a littered score sheet for tonight, Shane Pinto three
- 41:28Speaker 7: point game, Nick Cousins two point game, Michael Lomadio two
- 41:32Speaker 7: point game, Thomas Shabbat as well with a two point game.
- 41:36Speaker 7: And you'll see here on the Kraken score sheet that
- 41:39Speaker 7: Jordan Eberly had to assist in this game. Matty Benier's
- 41:43Speaker 7: had a goal. But you go down the plus minus
- 41:46Speaker 7: side of things, Adam Larson minus three, Jordan Eberley minus two,
- 41:50Speaker 7: Matty Beaniers minus two, Jared McCann minus three, Vin's Done
- 41:54Speaker 7: minus three. A lot of minuses here really on this
- 41:57Speaker 7: side of things. And then the question bears how much
- 42:01Speaker 7: more do you have to give? How much more are
- 42:03Speaker 7: you going to be asking to have your first line
- 42:05Speaker 7: jump in and provide offense, because it has been really
- 42:08Speaker 7: inconsistent here for the last roughly week.
- 42:10Speaker 1: And a half.
- 42:10Speaker 24: Andrews Well, I'd argue you don't really have a first
- 42:12Speaker 24: line right now, Like we've heard it so many times
- 42:16Speaker 24: when and they talked about it today in the post game,
- 42:18Speaker 24: and you'll hear it. When you are rolling all four lines,
- 42:21Speaker 24: that's when this team is at its best right, And
- 42:24Speaker 24: that is both a positive and a negative thing. It's
- 42:27Speaker 24: a positive thing because you can rely on any one
- 42:29Speaker 24: of your four lines to come out and score and
- 42:32Speaker 24: provide and get a spark for you.
- 42:35Speaker 1: The negative thing is, and I have a thought on that,
- 42:37Speaker 1: but go ahead, yeah.
- 42:38Speaker 24: And the negative thing is you don't really have like
- 42:42Speaker 24: that crutch right the Nathan McKinnon line for Colorado, Like
- 42:46Speaker 24: if you need a goal, you know where they're going
- 42:49Speaker 24: to and you can rely on that. When your team
- 42:52Speaker 24: isn't playing well, you can have a guy, not just
- 42:55Speaker 24: a guy, but a line that's that you know, dynamite
- 42:59Speaker 24: come out and save you. Sometimes when you're not playing
- 43:01Speaker 24: your best hockey games, krack and don't have that. So
- 43:04Speaker 24: they have to get taught up from up and down
- 43:08Speaker 24: the lineup. They have to be getting a A plus
- 43:11Speaker 24: performances in order to win hockey games. And it's just
- 43:13Speaker 24: sometimes it's too much to ask.
- 43:15Speaker 7: Before we get to Brandon montor again four nine four
- 43:17Speaker 7: or five one Texas right now, My thought on the
- 43:19Speaker 7: fourth line is this. You had Ben Myers go a
- 43:22Speaker 7: five to nine face saft circle. You know what you're
- 43:24Speaker 7: gonna get As far as energy. Jacob Alanson Tonight got
- 43:29Speaker 7: the game opening goal also tonight, what do you know,
- 43:32Speaker 7: four hits he brought energy. Ryan Winterton slotted back in
- 43:36Speaker 7: because Freddie Gudreau was sick. Tonight had two shots on net.
- 43:41Speaker 7: Also you could sense that he was very active energy
- 43:43Speaker 7: and also one takeaway, but also had a couple of
- 43:45Speaker 7: given ways. But my point is this here, if you
- 43:48Speaker 7: are consistently relying on that line to be your driver, yeah,
- 43:53Speaker 7: what else are you doing? You need to have other
- 43:56Speaker 7: lines also step in and do likewise.
- 43:57Speaker 24: Yeah, absolutely, because they're not gonna play the twenty and
- 44:00Speaker 24: it's a night, right, It's just not who they are yet.
- 44:02Speaker 24: Maybe they eventually get to that point. But I'm interested
- 44:06Speaker 24: to see what Lane Lambert says, because you the numbers
- 44:10Speaker 24: you put out there that the top guys weren't playing
- 44:13Speaker 24: well tonight, and you're gonna need them to be. You're
- 44:15Speaker 24: gonna need the Vince Dunns, the Maddy Benier's, the Jordan Neberley's,
- 44:18Speaker 24: the the Jared McCanns to be dynamite for you down
- 44:22Speaker 24: the stretch. If you're gonna become a playoff team like
- 44:24Speaker 24: they want to be so, well, hopefully they can figure
- 44:26Speaker 24: it out soon.
- 44:26Speaker 7: Cracking are now two and two on the six game
- 44:29Speaker 7: homes Dan Ottawa beats the crack of the night seven
- 44:32Speaker 7: to four. Back to the room we go right now
- 44:34Speaker 7: for reaction from Cracking defenseman Brandon Montour.
- 44:39Speaker 25: Yeah, right, I think right from the start again on
- 44:41Speaker 25: the energy level, the awareness of just how close everything is.
- 44:45Speaker 25: A team that's on the other side that we don't
- 44:46Speaker 25: see much, but in the same boat, a battling for
- 44:50Speaker 25: a playoff spot. Obviously, you know if we want it
- 44:52Speaker 25: just as bad, but we're not showing it. There he
- 44:55Speaker 25: they is they wanted the more.
- 44:57Speaker 26: Tonight you're getting some metage from the fourth line guys.
- 45:02Speaker 26: But yeah, across the board, h night, What once you
- 45:06Speaker 26: guys get their first goal?
- 45:07Speaker 4: What what sort of stop you from chiefing their cod Yeah,
- 45:11Speaker 4: it's just the life. The bench is quiet. The fourth
- 45:16Speaker 4: lines would have been, in.
- 45:18Speaker 25: My opinion, our best line for the for the most part,
- 45:20Speaker 25: you know, not necessarily have to score goals every night,
- 45:24Speaker 25: but there's creating energy.
- 45:25Speaker 4: Mel has been a big boost, been really impressed with
- 45:28Speaker 4: his game.
- 45:28Speaker 25: Obviously Misy coming up to it could interchange with obviously WinCE,
- 45:33Speaker 25: who else you have been there, Freddy, you know, but
- 45:37Speaker 25: they're creating a lot, and again, we're not a team
- 45:40Speaker 25: that's gonna be running on trading chances with a team
- 45:42Speaker 25: like that, that's you know, as seven up on us.
- 45:44Speaker 4: We got to keep it, keep it low, scoring, get hard.
- 45:48Speaker 11: You know.
- 45:48Speaker 25: Obviously Mel was a part of both goals mis he
- 45:51Speaker 25: was let's playoff hockey, you know, getting guys to the naming,
- 45:55Speaker 25: difficult for the goalie, crashing it, driving the net, and
- 45:59Speaker 25: that's a that's a group there that create things for
- 46:02Speaker 25: us every time, no.
- 46:03Speaker 4: Matter if they play five or ten minutes. And I
- 46:06Speaker 4: think we just got to follow suit.
- 46:08Speaker 22: You know.
- 46:08Speaker 4: It's have a couple of nice shifts, just four a
- 46:11Speaker 4: goal and you know they come back right at us
- 46:13Speaker 4: and it's gonna be tough.
- 46:14Speaker 25: It's it's not easy. Again, Like I said, that's a
- 46:17Speaker 25: team over there that wants it, and they just wanted
- 46:19Speaker 25: to more.
- 46:19Speaker 6: Tonite right then. It felt like they have a lot
- 46:21Speaker 6: of space in their dezel and it's hard.
- 46:23Speaker 4: Yeah, Like were down a lot of I mean.
- 46:28Speaker 25: When I was out there, at least, it felt like
- 46:29Speaker 25: there's a lot of odd man rushes. You know that
- 46:33Speaker 25: either we had one guy back, two guys back. I
- 46:36Speaker 25: don't know if that's just gonna be oppressive for offense.
- 46:38Speaker 4: I have to look back. But yeah, it's just a team.
- 46:42Speaker 25: That wanted to more tonight. And unfortunately, obviously you know,
- 46:45Speaker 25: you can't dwell on it now. You can't change anything
- 46:47Speaker 25: you got. We got twenty left to to figure it out,
- 46:50Speaker 25: so we're on to the next one.
- 46:51Speaker 6: You anu the energy a couple of times.
- 46:53Speaker 4: I know there's guys that are sick in the room.
- 46:55Speaker 4: I mean, is that playing into it or I mean,
- 46:56Speaker 4: why do you think it's shouldn't I mean, yeah, it's tough.
- 47:00Speaker 25: So obviously we lost some pieces guys under the weather,
- 47:03Speaker 25: Jaden going down, you know that doesn't help.
- 47:06Speaker 4: But like, no matter what sick or not, this is
- 47:11Speaker 4: the best time of the year to play hockey. This
- 47:13Speaker 4: is why you play.
- 47:15Speaker 25: I think obviously us in here need to learn that
- 47:17Speaker 25: pretty fast that we deserve to be in this position we're.
- 47:21Speaker 4: In, and uh, we got to show that.
- 47:23Speaker 7: Thanks Brandon montur with some accountability, sharing his thoughts with
- 47:27Speaker 7: the media downstairs again four nine four five one, Texas
- 47:29Speaker 7: right now on the Tacoma Dodge text line and once
- 47:33Speaker 7: again Tacoma Dodge Chrysler ge Bramber the corner of thirty
- 47:35Speaker 7: eighth and sound Tacoma Away, the intersection of savings. Let's
- 47:40Speaker 7: go there right now. Two six is saying, very disappointed.
- 47:43Speaker 7: It's a clunker for tonight. Four losses, last six games,
- 47:47Speaker 7: rarely out shot again, just looking like an average team
- 47:50Speaker 7: here from tonight again that from the two oh six
- 47:53Speaker 7: two five three saying lack of effort, consistency is frustrating
- 47:56Speaker 7: here game after game, uh, questions about this being a
- 47:59Speaker 7: playoff team. That from the two five to three, and
- 48:02Speaker 7: I go back to brandon montor my two reactions andress
- 48:05Speaker 7: out of this. Number one saying the bench is quiet,
- 48:09Speaker 7: it's a bit alarming, and you expect change very swiftly
- 48:13Speaker 7: with that kind of I think attitude, if you want
- 48:16Speaker 7: to call it a motion, lack of it, whatever, we're
- 48:19Speaker 7: looking at this like right now, it's playoff hockey. It's intense.
- 48:22Speaker 7: The urgency has got to rise. And then that's at
- 48:25Speaker 7: least what I took away from what he was trying
- 48:27Speaker 7: to communicate and then you were on the counter here
- 48:30Speaker 7: for this not one, but two, but three times.
- 48:33Speaker 24: He said they wanted it more than us, and that's
- 48:37Speaker 24: something that just can't happen. I'm sorry, and I'm glad
- 48:39Speaker 24: that Brandon Montor is aware of that. You could tell
- 48:42Speaker 24: he tried to make that kind of an emphasis, like, hey,
- 48:45Speaker 24: they wanted it more than us. That's not okay, that's
- 48:48Speaker 24: not okay. We can't allow that to happen. It's just
- 48:50Speaker 24: an effort thing. It's not a skill thing. It's not
- 48:53Speaker 24: a preparation thing, it's not a coaching thing. It's an
- 48:55Speaker 24: effort thing, and that should be a given every single night.
- 48:59Speaker 24: But I don't know, man, when when one of your
- 49:03Speaker 24: leaders is saying that, you know, three times within a
- 49:06Speaker 24: two and a half minute interview, I think he can
- 49:09Speaker 24: tell that there's there's something that needs to change, and.
- 49:11Speaker 7: There's also a sense of accountability that thing and what
- 49:14Speaker 7: he said to because he even called himself out saying
- 49:17Speaker 7: I was on the ice odd man rushes. He's looking
- 49:19Speaker 7: at himself with the mirror right now, and he's looking
- 49:21Speaker 7: at himself saying, look, people have got to change.
- 49:23Speaker 1: I also have to change as well too. That that
- 49:26Speaker 1: is his firm, grounded.
- 49:27Speaker 7: Leadership and the big reason why you could really get
- 49:29Speaker 7: his sense that he was a big piece of winning
- 49:31Speaker 7: a Stanley Cup back and forth.
- 49:32Speaker 24: Yeah, you could tell like this is a guy that's
- 49:34Speaker 24: been there and done that.
- 49:36Speaker 4: Right.
- 49:36Speaker 24: There are some guys that who are also in that
- 49:40Speaker 24: position that they have won a Stanley Cup before, but
- 49:43Speaker 24: he's one of them that's done it most recently. He
- 49:45Speaker 24: did it two years ago with Florida. So it's he
- 49:49Speaker 24: knows what it takes to get to the highest level
- 49:51Speaker 24: and win at the highest level. And you could tell
- 49:54Speaker 24: he's trying to get this team to that point. He
- 49:56Speaker 24: said that we deserve to be where we're at. I
- 49:58Speaker 24: think they've they've done excellent to get to this point.
- 50:02Speaker 24: I just wonder how long they can keep it and
- 50:06Speaker 24: push it over the line if they continue to kind
- 50:08Speaker 24: of play this inconsistent hawk.
- 50:09Speaker 7: And and also here's a big part of this too,
- 50:11Speaker 7: because they have been so good at home. We were
- 50:14Speaker 7: saying earlier that for the six game homes, and you
- 50:16Speaker 7: hope for at least eight points, if not more.
- 50:20Speaker 1: Now you need two wins, two games.
- 50:23Speaker 7: Against Nashville and then Colorado just to meet that eight
- 50:27Speaker 7: point bar.
- 50:28Speaker 24: Yeah, and don't sleep on Nashville either. I know they're
- 50:30Speaker 24: behind you in the standings, but they've been hot lately.
- 50:33Speaker 24: They didn't end up trading as bunch of people at
- 50:35Speaker 24: the deadline like a lot of people expected to, and
- 50:37Speaker 24: they've been kind of coming back and they have a
- 50:39Speaker 24: lot of firepower. That's a team that you know, maybe
- 50:42Speaker 24: hasn't figured it all out with their you know, a
- 50:46Speaker 24: bunch of their lines Steven Stamkos, Ryan O'Reilly, Jonathan Marcizeau,
- 50:50Speaker 24: Roman Yosi. They have the firepower to kind of go
- 50:52Speaker 24: in a run here. I would not be surprised if
- 50:55Speaker 24: they feel like the crack and are right for the picking.
- 50:57Speaker 7: Right now again four nine, what's your instant reaction here
- 51:01Speaker 7: to this evening's game. We'll get to more of it
- 51:03Speaker 7: in just a bit, but again four nine, four or
- 51:05Speaker 7: five to one textas right now on the Tacoma Dodge
- 51:09Speaker 7: text line reaction from head coach Lane Lambert right around
- 51:13Speaker 7: the corner here we are live at Tom's watchbar. Mike
- 51:15Speaker 7: Benton Andrew Service with you back in a moment on
- 51:19Speaker 7: Talking Kracking on ninety three to three KJRFM.
- 51:23Speaker 2: If you've got to come in about tonight's Cracking game,
- 51:26Speaker 2: make sure we hear about it. Just text us at
- 51:28Speaker 2: four nine four five one. Now back to Tucking Kraken
- 51:32Speaker 2: with Mike Benton on Sports Radio ninety three point three
- 51:36Speaker 2: KJR FM four nine four.
- 51:38Speaker 1: Or five one.
- 51:39Speaker 7: Text us right now your instant reaction to this evenings
- 51:42Speaker 7: game on the Tacoma Dodge text line. Crackingfall seven to
- 51:45Speaker 7: four to Theyatawa Senators now two and two on the
- 51:47Speaker 7: homestand they will still be in wild card spot number
- 51:51Speaker 7: two by the end of this evening. But plenty of
- 51:55Speaker 7: issues that Kracking certainly talking about already that they want
- 51:58Speaker 7: to get turned around and in a hur before Nashville
- 52:01Speaker 7: comes into town for a big one coming up this
- 52:04Speaker 7: next Tuesday four two five, saying depth pick up, But
- 52:08Speaker 7: Bobby McMahon could pay off right away looking forward here
- 52:10Speaker 7: to his speed four TOWO five with that reaction here
- 52:14Speaker 7: Bobby McMahon again for those again still learning about all
- 52:16Speaker 7: of this, the crack and getting him at the trade deadline,
- 52:19Speaker 7: he was ineligible to play here this evening.
- 52:21Speaker 1: He is still on route to Seattle.
- 52:23Speaker 7: He needs immigration clearance as well, so that could be
- 52:26Speaker 7: a wildcard if that is all cleared up by Tuesday.
- 52:28Speaker 1: Who knows.
- 52:29Speaker 7: That's kind of the goal, the hope and the dream
- 52:31Speaker 7: here when Nashville comes in.
- 52:33Speaker 1: What you get is speed.
- 52:35Speaker 7: We've heard from across the league he's a difference maker
- 52:37Speaker 7: as far as the top six guy. The speed element
- 52:41Speaker 7: and also the ability and willingness to shoot the puck
- 52:44Speaker 7: over and over and over. Two big trades, the crack
- 52:48Speaker 7: and plug in. As of right now, he is a
- 52:49Speaker 7: second leading goal scorer on this team, And I think
- 52:53Speaker 7: maybe right now you're looking at perhaps a situation where
- 52:55Speaker 7: I think it's a bit easier depending upon how long
- 52:57Speaker 7: Jayden Schwartz could be out the hopes that he's accurate
- 53:00Speaker 7: for Tuesday, but in case he's not, that's an automatic
- 53:03Speaker 7: slot right into line two with Chandler Stevenson.
- 53:05Speaker 24: Yeah. I think sometimes these things work out like that.
- 53:09Speaker 24: Right You're kind of worried about, oh, who we're gonna
- 53:11Speaker 24: drop to fit him into the lineup when you trade
- 53:14Speaker 24: for him, because you're not getting rid of anyone else
- 53:17Speaker 24: in terms of the trade, I mean to get Bobby McMahon.
- 53:20Speaker 24: So you're like, okay, we have to kind of figure
- 53:21Speaker 24: out a scratch situation that maybe you don't want to scratch.
- 53:25Speaker 24: Then Jane Schwartz gets injured tonight, so it's kind of
- 53:27Speaker 24: good timing in terms of fitting him right into the lineup.
- 53:30Speaker 24: I'm excited to see what he brings. I know he's
- 53:32Speaker 24: a goal scorer, it's just I want to see someone
- 53:37Speaker 24: that kind of brings that extra element of physicality. Yeah,
- 53:40Speaker 24: Lane Lambert did coach him last year in Toronto as well.
- 53:44Speaker 24: That tells me that Lane Lambert signed off on this
- 53:47Speaker 24: and was like, I want to bring that guy here.
- 53:50Speaker 24: I think he can be a difference maker. So I'm
- 53:52Speaker 24: very intrigued by this. I don't think this, you know,
- 53:55Speaker 24: changes your ceiling, so to speak. He's not that superstar
- 53:58Speaker 24: that we've been asking for that one whales going to
- 54:00Speaker 24: change everything exactly exactly. But in terms of your kind
- 54:05Speaker 24: of path towards the playoffs this year in twenty twenty six,
- 54:09Speaker 24: he definitely makes you a better hockey team.
- 54:11Speaker 1: So I'm excited to see what he can do.
- 54:12Speaker 7: Without further ado reaction from head coach Lane Lambert, let's
- 54:16Speaker 7: go downstairs right now again the crack and Fall seven
- 54:18Speaker 7: and fourd to Ottawa and here's Lane Lambert and his
- 54:21Speaker 7: reaction meet with the media.
- 54:23Speaker 27: Coach what aspects of your team's game tonight. Were you
- 54:26Speaker 27: disappointed in.
- 54:30Speaker 6: I just we didn't play very well.
- 54:32Speaker 28: There wasn't really you know, if I could try and
- 54:35Speaker 28: pinpoint something, we did really well and it would be
- 54:37Speaker 28: very very difficult to.
- 54:39Speaker 2: Do so, So.
- 54:42Speaker 28: I think as a group, you know, coaching staff right
- 54:45Speaker 28: on down, you know, we got to be better. Starts
- 54:49Speaker 28: with me, moves right on down the line. So there
- 54:53Speaker 28: wasn't there wasn't any positivesting.
- 54:57Speaker 27: What did you think of the energy that you saw
- 54:59Speaker 27: from the group, how that trickled into the play, the effort,
- 55:02Speaker 27: the execution.
- 55:04Speaker 28: Well, I you know, I think we had energy in
- 55:10Speaker 28: the second period when we started to get a little
- 55:11Speaker 28: bit physical.
- 55:13Speaker 6: That was really the the moment.
- 55:17Speaker 28: I guess there was a little pocket in there where
- 55:19Speaker 28: we had what I consider to be energy that's necessary
- 55:22Speaker 28: and required. And you know, other than that, you know,
- 55:30Speaker 28: there wasn't a whole lot of There wasn't a whole
- 55:33Speaker 28: lot of energy. Certainly, you know, when you're making mistakes
- 55:37Speaker 28: like we made a lot of them are uncharacteristic mistakes,
- 55:41Speaker 28: to be honest, but.
- 55:43Speaker 6: You know we can't do that, and so it just
- 55:46Speaker 6: SAPs the energy idea.
- 55:48Speaker 27: Do you have an update on Jaden Schwartz at all.
- 55:51Speaker 6: He is being evaluated right now.
- 55:53Speaker 27: When you lose a player like that in that way,
- 55:56Speaker 27: in that moment, how did you see that kind of
- 55:58Speaker 27: impact the team maybe in tone, energy, just like on
- 56:02Speaker 27: the bench in that moment.
- 56:03Speaker 28: Yeah, I think the guys are worried about their teammate,
- 56:06Speaker 28: you know, their brother.
- 56:07Speaker 6: So it was pretty you know, it was pretty pretty close.
- 56:13Speaker 28: That one, and you know, could have been worse, I guess,
- 56:17Speaker 28: but you know, he's he's not you know, he's again,
- 56:21Speaker 28: like I say, he's getting evaluated. It kind of SAPs
- 56:24Speaker 28: I think it sapped the energy out of the building
- 56:25Speaker 28: a little bit, got pretty quiet.
- 56:27Speaker 26: I mean, Monty called out the fourth line and the
- 56:31Speaker 26: good work they did tonight and said everybody needs to
- 56:34Speaker 26: play like that group.
- 56:35Speaker 19: What what's your thoughts on their comment?
- 56:38Speaker 28: Well, uh, yeah, no, I mean he's not wrong in
- 56:43Speaker 28: the sense that our fourth line has been good for us.
- 56:44Speaker 28: They you know, they come, they compete, they bring energy. Uh,
- 56:48Speaker 28: you know, since the break, we need more from our
- 56:50Speaker 28: top guys.
- 56:52Speaker 25: Coach, what did you make of Joey's night tonight and
- 56:55Speaker 25: at any point you consider taking them out of there
- 56:57Speaker 25: just to protect his confidence?
- 56:58Speaker 28: That's a good question. I didn't, you know, I think
- 57:01Speaker 28: there's some some that he would want back. Certainly, we
- 57:05Speaker 28: left him hanging out to dry on a number of occasions,
- 57:07Speaker 28: so you know, there was there was mistakes and breakdowns
- 57:13Speaker 28: and stuff that we really haven't seen for a while,
- 57:18Speaker 28: you know, And so you know, and in terms of
- 57:23Speaker 28: taking him out, I really thought after we went in
- 57:25Speaker 28: after the second period, I.
- 57:26Speaker 6: Wanted to give us a good chance to win the
- 57:28Speaker 6: hockey game.
- 57:30Speaker 28: I felt like, you know, some of the some of
- 57:33Speaker 28: the saves that he was making, even though we maybe
- 57:36Speaker 28: questioned a couple of goals, I thought he made some
- 57:38Speaker 28: good saves to keep it at four.
- 57:41Speaker 6: So you know, there was no thought for me of
- 57:44Speaker 6: taking him out.
- 57:44Speaker 28: And then you know, after it got too late, it's
- 57:46Speaker 28: not fair to Krubaber to put him in there, and
- 57:48Speaker 28: certainly we don't want to risk injury to him bringing
- 57:50Speaker 28: him off the bench when he's been sitting there.
- 57:52Speaker 6: So just one of those things, one of those nights.
- 57:55Speaker 3: Lane.
- 57:56Speaker 29: Just for clarification on Jaden, is he getting evaluated because
- 57:59Speaker 29: of the impact to his phase because he got a cut.
- 58:03Speaker 29: I mean, we saw some blood, but we couldn't tell
- 58:05Speaker 29: if he actually had gotten cut or not.
- 58:07Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't know. I just know that he's being evaluated.
- 58:09Speaker 7: Yeah, that reaction from head coach Lane Lambert covering it
- 58:15Speaker 7: all with the media here First off, Jayden Schwartz again,
- 58:17Speaker 7: he is still under evaluation. Timeline is to be determined
- 58:21Speaker 7: in a very very tough and scary thing. That could
- 58:23Speaker 7: have been a lot worse. Yeah for that Aaron skate
- 58:25Speaker 7: and the face that he took back Layton period one.
- 58:29Speaker 7: But let's get here to the meat of all of this,
- 58:30Speaker 7: and let's just say the reaction basically came as advertised.
- 58:35Speaker 7: I think accountability is his thing Anders, but this was
- 58:38Speaker 7: a message he sent Everyone has to be better, everyone
- 58:44Speaker 7: has to be better. He threw himself in there. He
- 58:47Speaker 7: puts spotlight on his leadership. The spotlight basically went on
- 58:51Speaker 7: the phrase the U word urgency. Yeah, it's go time.
- 58:56Speaker 7: Quiet is not his brand. Intensity is his brand. Playoff hockey,
- 59:01Speaker 7: the stretch drive requires intensity.
- 59:03Speaker 24: Yeah, I got the Uh it starts with me. I
- 59:06Speaker 24: mean it's it's a classic leadership tactic. When you're trying
- 59:10Speaker 24: to get more out of everyone around you, you have
- 59:12Speaker 24: you have to get credibility first by saying that that
- 59:15Speaker 24: includes yourself, right, And I think he's good at that.
- 59:18Speaker 24: He knows that you know what he's doing. He's this
- 59:20Speaker 24: person who starts all of this, so it's good for
- 59:22Speaker 24: him to kind of take accountability himself and he expects
- 59:26Speaker 24: everyone else to be in that same category. You heard
- 59:28Speaker 24: that from Brandon Montour as well, taking accountability, right, So
- 59:31Speaker 24: hopefully that's gonna be a theme kind of up and
- 59:33Speaker 24: down the line here and the roster. The big thing
- 59:36Speaker 24: that stood out to me and we talked about this,
- 59:38Speaker 24: we need more from our top guys. And like you
- 59:42Speaker 24: read that, you read the plus minuses tonight, I know
- 59:44Speaker 24: Matti Vaniers gets a goal. He hasn't really been playing
- 59:48Speaker 24: great as of late, was already out of risk. Well
- 59:50Speaker 24: that and not even just tonight, just in the last
- 59:52Speaker 24: couple of weeks. It seems like he's been kind of
- 59:54Speaker 24: invisible a little bit.
- 59:55Speaker 20: Uh.
- 59:56Speaker 1: Vince Dunn been playing well as of late. Tonight was
- 59:59Speaker 1: not very good.
- 1:00:01Speaker 24: I don't know. Man like him saying we need more
- 1:00:04Speaker 24: from our top guys. Yes, it was comparing it to
- 1:00:06Speaker 24: the fourth line has been awesome, but that's why you
- 1:00:09Speaker 24: have a top line. You need to rely on that
- 1:00:11Speaker 24: moving forward. So hopefully that kind of message gets sent
- 1:00:14Speaker 24: and received well from those guys.
- 1:00:16Speaker 7: Looking forward here to the reaction coming up here on
- 1:00:18Speaker 7: Tuesday when the Krake and take on the Nashville Predators again,
- 1:00:21Speaker 7: two days off. As far as game action in between,
- 1:00:25Speaker 7: it's gonna be a big one. It's gonna be a
- 1:00:27Speaker 7: fun one. We'll look forward to it and certainly hope
- 1:00:29Speaker 7: that you can join us right back here once again.
