- 0:00Speaker 1: Saturday nights, America was reminded once more political violence still
- 0:04Speaker 1: walks among us. It's clear the man intended to kill,
- 0:08Speaker 1: Whether broken in mind or rotten in soul, he came
- 0:11Speaker 1: with purpose. Now questions swirl. Was security sufficient? Why, according
- 0:16Speaker 1: to reporting, was a full National Security Special Event designation?
- 0:21Speaker 1: Perhaps not in place. Did Congress's chronic games with funding
- 0:26Speaker 1: the Department of Homeland Security, home of the US Secret
- 0:29Speaker 1: Service play any role? Those answers must come quickly and
- 0:33Speaker 1: thanks b No one was hurt. The President and others
- 0:37Speaker 1: nearby remained safe. But there was another attack that night,
- 0:42Speaker 1: not with bullets, with lies. Before facts could draw a breath,
- 0:46Speaker 1: the Internet had already decided the entire event was staged. Staged.
- 0:51Speaker 1: Some claimed it was theater, some said it was a distraction.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Others dragged foreign nations into fantasies building on nothing at all.
- 1:00Speaker 1: And as truth was still tying its shoes, falsehood had
- 1:03Speaker 1: lapped the field entirely. Artificial intelligence images manufactured proof, influencers
- 1:09Speaker 1: pedaling nonsense by the truckload. Why because outrage pays, clicks pay,
- 1:15Speaker 1: attention pays, And somewhere along the way, too many Americans
- 1:19Speaker 1: decided followers are the same thing as facts. Social media
- 1:24Speaker 1: is only a tool. A hammer can build a house
- 1:27Speaker 1: or break a window. The blame belongs not with the tool,
- 1:30Speaker 1: but the hands that swing it. So today, perform a
- 1:33Speaker 1: little housekeeping. Look at who you follow. If they trade
- 1:36Speaker 1: and poison, unfollow, If they profit from panic, unfollow, If
- 1:40Speaker 1: they sell fantasy dressed as fact, unfollow and replace them
- 1:45Speaker 1: with people who do the hard work of truth. Reporters
- 1:48Speaker 1: who verify, journalists who wait for evidence, voices that inform
- 1:52Speaker 1: rather than inflame. Because in moments of national crises, a
- 1:56Speaker 1: country needs calm minds, not con men.
