- 0:00Sean McAllister: This is Vegas Revealed episode 59, The Golden Knights back on the ice with fans in the stands.
- 0:08Sean McAllister: My firsthand experience inside T-Mobile Arena in a year, Dana.
- 0:13Dayna Roselli: And a Miami official is telling people to come to Las Vegas for spring break.
- 0:19Dayna Roselli: We'll explain what this is all about.
- 0:21Sean McAllister: And smoking or no smoking, that is the big debate.
- 0:24Sean McAllister: In our exclusive Vegas Revealed poll this week, your results are coming up.
- 0:30Dayna Roselli: Plus, the Venetian and Palazzo are sold in a multi-billion dollar deal.
- 0:36Sean McAllister: And the new Virgin Hotel is set to open with no resort fees.
- 0:41Sean McAllister: There's a lot of reaction on that.
- 0:43Sean McAllister: It's all coming up right now on Vegas Revealed.
- 0:58Dayna Roselli: Welcome to Vegas Revealed, episode 59.
- 1:02Sean McAllister: Along with Sean McAllister.
- 1:04Sean McAllister: And you know, Dana, we are uh I mean, we're in March, and this is when we start seeing that flood of uh visitor traffic to Las Vegas for NASCAR, for the NCAA basketball tournament, and for spring break.
- 1:20Dayna Roselli: Right, and pool season, you know, is officially here, so everyone's ready to spring break in Vegas, right?
- 1:25Dayna Roselli: Well, this city official in Florida, believe it or not, is saying, hey everyone, skip Florida, go to Vegas instead.
- 1:32Dayna Roselli: It's like, what?
- 1:33Sean McAllister: Which is crazy town because like my South Florida, Miami Beach, Fort Lauderdale, like those are usually spring break hot spots.
- 1:42Sean McAllister: They're usually packed, those beaches with uh college kids who are just looking to get crazy, get plastered.
- 1:51Sean McAllister: That's like where girls gone wild back in the 90s.
- 1:54Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh, remember that?
- 1:55Sean McAllister: Got its start.
- 1:56Sean McAllister: Oh my god.
- 1:57Dayna Roselli: Yeah, well, we're all like, you know, hey, normally we'd be like, yeah, great, skip Florida, come to Vegas, you know.
- 2:01Dayna Roselli: But the way that this city manager said it was that he wanted people to come here because he didn't want people to gather and party and, you know, spread COVID.
- 2:12Dayna Roselli: They should come to Vegas because our restrictions are looser.
- 2:15Dayna Roselli: But I'm like, wait a minute, hasn't Florida like been demassed and open forever now?
- 2:20Sean McAllister: Yeah, I mean I don't get it.
- 2:22Sean McAllister: Florida has been one of the states with the most lenient restrictions all through this pandemic.
- 2:30Sean McAllister: Um, but Raul Aguila, he's the city manager down in Miami Beach, he's saying if you're coming here, there's not gonna be an anything goes kind of party attitude.
- 2:41Sean McAllister: Change your reservation and go to Vegas if that's what you want.
- 2:44Sean McAllister: But listen, Raul, we've got news for you.
- 2:47Sean McAllister: Despite the reputation, Las Vegas is not the anything goes atmosphere right now.
- 2:54Sean McAllister: I mean, this is probably one of the places where you're going to have the most amount of staff reminding you to keep your mask on and follow the rules.
- 3:03Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's very true.
- 3:04Dayna Roselli: I mean, listen, we want people to come here and, you know, enjoy spring break and do all the things that you want to do, but within our rules that we have in place, and I have a feeling we'll be on high alert to make sure that all that goes down properly.
- 3:18Dayna Roselli: March 15th, we are up to 50% capacity allowed, so it'll be a big change for the city.
- 3:23Dayna Roselli: It's been a while.
- 3:24Sean McAllister: It has, and even though people can go to the pool, they can go to uh nightclub venues, but the pools and nightclub venues aren't operating like day club and nightclubs right now.
- 3:39Sean McAllister: The pool, you can go and there might be music, but you have to be socially distanced.
- 3:43Sean McAllister: You have to wear your mask when you're laying out.
- 3:45Sean McAllister: You c it's not like a big party, and the same thing for the nightclubs.
- 3:51Sean McAllister: They're operating as lounges right now, which is like sit in your little space, get some cocktails, and keep to yourself.
- 4:00Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 4:01Dayna Roselli: And listen, you know, there are things that you know, when you're by the pool, as long as you've got a drink, you can have your math.
- 4:07Dayna Roselli: I mean, people, you know, but they're they they do do great separation there.
- 4:11Dayna Roselli: A lot of times they have the just the chairs bolt in twos and they're separated.
- 4:15Dayna Roselli: So um they're already all set up like that.
- 4:17Dayna Roselli: Uh so we just we we have great things in place.
- 4:20Dayna Roselli: And listen, if you want to come to Vegas, we're not saying don't.
- 4:23Dayna Roselli: We're just saying with that quote that we're like all loosey-goosey, and and you know, they're not gonna tolerate any crazy, what do you call anarchy?
- 4:31Dayna Roselli: They're in Florida and Miami Beach.
- 4:33Dayna Roselli: I mean, you know, don't position us like we're the loose state of the country because we aren't.
- 4:39Dayna Roselli: Texas is before us, and so is Florida.
- 4:41Sean McAllister: And Miami, they don't want to be known as a super spreader city.
- 4:46Sean McAllister: And guess what?
- 4:46Sean McAllister: Las Vegas doesn't want to be known as that either, because we want to welcome people back here in a safe way, and that's what the city has done over the past several months since casinos have been back open.
- 4:58Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 4:59Dayna Roselli: And along those lines, I wanted to do a quick mention of this, Sean, and we don't have to go on and on forever.
- 5:04Dayna Roselli: Um, but you and I were vaccinated this week.
- 5:07Dayna Roselli: We got an appointment last minute.
- 5:09Dayna Roselli: You called and said, Hey, I see some openings at the convention center.
- 5:12Dayna Roselli: Do you want to go?
- 5:12Dayna Roselli: And I live near there, so we're like, Yeah, park here, we'll walk.
- 5:15Dayna Roselli: We did it and we got through.
- 5:16Dayna Roselli: So we have our first dose of the Pfizer vaccine.
- 5:19Sean McAllister: And it's because uh there was a new batch of uh people who were allowed to uh get vaccines, and media is uh involved in that group of communications professionals.
- 5:34Sean McAllister: So once we were allowed, we went and signed up, got the vaccine, and there were I I mean I'd say thousands of people over at the convention center lined up to to get the vaccine.
- 5:45Sean McAllister: So it's a a good a good sign that people are are wanting to get vaccinated.
- 5:51Sean McAllister: Unfortunately, here in especially in Las Vegas, things it sounds like are moving faster than other parts of the country.
- 5:58Dayna Roselli: For sure.
- 5:59Dayna Roselli: Because once I told a couple people that I know I got vaccinated, the response was, Well, we've been trying to get one in California and we can't even get close.
- 6:07Dayna Roselli: Or and you were saying, you know, someone in Iowa.
- 6:09Dayna Roselli: Iowa?
- 6:10Sean McAllister: Iowa, yeah.
- 6:10Dayna Roselli: Yeah, was saying, you know, we're so behind and and there's no way.
- 6:13Dayna Roselli: I can't believe media are getting it already.
- 6:15Dayna Roselli: But and you know, Sean and I do a lot of projects out in the community.
- 6:17Dayna Roselli: Nonprofits hire us, uh, new businesses that are opening hire us to tell their story.
- 6:23Dayna Roselli: We're trying our best to help promote the city and do our job, but I must say, you and I have been wanting to get vaccinated because we know we'll feel more comfortable and it will make the customer who hires us more comfortable.
- 6:35Sean McAllister: Right.
- 6:36Sean McAllister: And especially now that events and shows are starting to happen again here in Las Vegas, it's great peace of mind to have uh the vaccine.
- 6:46Sean McAllister: There's still another another round of shots to go, but you know, first dose down.
- 6:51Sean McAllister: And speaking of events, Dana, uh coming up in just a couple minutes here on Vegas Revealed, I'm gonna have my my firsthand experience getting back inside T-Mobile Arena for the first time in a year to see the Golden Knights play hockey.
- 7:08Sean McAllister: We have a limited amount of fans allowed back inside, and that experience is gonna be coming up.
- 7:13Dayna Roselli: We look forward to hearing that.
- 7:14Dayna Roselli: First, we want to talk about two things that are causing quite a conversation in the social media world, and one of them is Resorts World that's gonna open this summer.
- 7:24Sean McAllister: Yeah, a huge resort uh right across the street from Wynn Las Vegas.
- 7:29Sean McAllister: I mean, it it's massive and it looks absolutely beautiful, but it's not uh the aesthetics that have people buzzing.
- 7:36Dayna Roselli: No, so we did an exclusive Vegas revealed Twitter poll.
- 7:39Sean McAllister: This is two weeks in a row.
- 7:41Sean McAllister: We've had exclusive polls, Dana.
- 7:43Dayna Roselli: No, I think we'd just keep it up.
- 7:44Dayna Roselli: Just keep it up.
- 7:45Dayna Roselli: Anyway, uh here's the deal.
- 7:47Dayna Roselli: Somebody had mentioned on Twitter, I don't actually know where it all started, about them hearing some buzz that Resorts World might be a non-smoking resort casino.
- 7:56Dayna Roselli: And then people chimed in saying, yeah, do it.
- 7:58Dayna Roselli: Others were saying no.
- 7:59Dayna Roselli: So we did a poll.
- 8:01Dayna Roselli: Now we're also hearing some follow-up uh from some of the bloggers out there.
- 8:05Dayna Roselli: They're saying that smoking will be allowed in the casino, but not allowed in other parts of the resort.
- 8:12Dayna Roselli: So we aren't sure.
- 8:13Dayna Roselli: Nobody's confirmed that in the world of resorts world.
- 8:16Dayna Roselli: So anyway, we did a poll and we asked, you know, what do you think?
- 8:19Dayna Roselli: Are you getting you behind this?
- 8:20Dayna Roselli: Maybe, you know, resorts world being smoke-free.
- 8:23Sean McAllister: The results were were pretty astounding.
- 8:26Sean McAllister: 82% of respondents, Dana, more than that, said yes, they would support Resorts World opening up as a smoke-free property.
- 8:37Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and then 17.5% said no.
- 8:40Dayna Roselli: And this is out of about 500 votes that we got in.
- 8:42Dayna Roselli: So, you know, interesting amount, but a lot of people saying yes.
- 8:46Dayna Roselli: And we did also get some responses.
- 8:48Dayna Roselli: Some we can't read because they're a little vulgar, but because we're a clean show, we try to be anyway.
- 8:54Dayna Roselli: Uh, but no, somebody we had uh Sparky Lisa saying all day long I support it.
- 8:59Dayna Roselli: Secondhand smoke is worse than smoking, and the air freshener used to try and cover it up is poison.
- 9:06Dayna Roselli: Interesting.
- 9:07Dayna Roselli: So that's from Sparky.
- 9:08Sean McAllister: Eric says 100% yes, he supports this no smoking.
- 9:14Sean McAllister: Uh Joe says smoke is the main reason I stay away from the casino because really I've experienced this in the in the last week or so.
- 9:23Sean McAllister: Was out in a casino and came home and took a whiff of my clothes and it just smelled like an ashtray.
- 9:29Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 9:29Dayna Roselli: I mean, I'll uh I must say, like a lot of my closet, if I put something back in there, you know, you can smell in the closet.
- 9:34Dayna Roselli: You don't even realize because it's just Vegas, but um okay, one person said having two separate designated areas would be nice, you know, if they must.
- 9:44Dayna Roselli: They welcome all customers, don't turn away business.
- 9:47Dayna Roselli: So, and then somebody responded, Mora responded, and saying a lot of casinos actually already have that, and you end up smelling like an ashtray still because you have to walk through the smoking area to get to the non-smoking area, and it defeats the purpose.
- 10:01Sean McAllister: True.
- 10:02Sean McAllister: But Dr.
- 10:02Sean McAllister: Trevor says, you know what?
- 10:04Sean McAllister: I I don't even smoke, but don't alienate a good portion of your clientele, which is, you know, the main reason why casinos haven't largely gone smoke-free.
- 10:16Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 10:17Dayna Roselli: And then lastly, Ryan Daly says, I still want to be able to smoke a stogie at the blackjack table, though.
- 10:23Sean McAllister: All right.
- 10:24Sean McAllister: Ryan and his stogies.
- 10:26Dayna Roselli: So for Ryan, the smoking allowed in the casino and not the rest of the property would be ideal.
- 10:31Sean McAllister: That would work out well.
- 10:32Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 10:32Sean McAllister: Yeah, but uh one resort on the strip has already gone smoke-free, and that is uh Park MGM.
- 10:39Dayna Roselli: And I think I remember you saying you've been in there.
- 10:41Dayna Roselli: I haven't visited Park MGM since it's gone non-smoking, but you said some people were still smoking here and there because they didn't even realize, and there were announcements, right?
- 10:49Sean McAllister: Yeah, there were announcements overhead that kindly reminded people to wear the masks, to do the social distancing, and also uh a gentle reminder that uh smoking is not uh permitted in the casino area now.
- 11:03Sean McAllister: But uh there are other casinos opening up across the country in the post-COVID world uh with no smoking.
- 11:10Sean McAllister: I think in New Jersey and some other states, Indiana, they're opening up with uh no smoking.
- 11:15Sean McAllister: But right now it's uh just Park MGM, and we'll see where Resorts World lands on that when the resort opens up this summer.
- 11:24Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 11:24Dayna Roselli: And speaking of opening, Virgin Hotel's getting ready to open on March 25th, and that is over where the old Hard Rock Hotel Casino was.
- 11:33Sean McAllister: Yeah, they've essentially gutted the place and given it a an incredible, beautiful facelift.
- 11:39Sean McAllister: It looks gorgeous over there, and uh virgin hotel is set to open in just a couple weeks at the end of March.
- 11:46Dayna Roselli: Right, and they put out this press release that us, the press, uh, got, and the headline was this Virgin Hotels Las Vegas to open with no resort fees, complimentary self-parking, what what?
- 11:58Dayna Roselli: And Wi-Fi.
- 12:00Sean McAllister: Holy crap.
- 12:02Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so I mean, I'm it is, it's the full rundown.
- 12:07Dayna Roselli: And listen, isn't this how it's supposed to be and what Vegas always was?
- 12:11Dayna Roselli: So the response is overwhelming.
- 12:13Dayna Roselli: We actually tweeted a screenshot of that and said, you know, we really like this headline because you know, as locals, we always feel that we should all get all that stuff.
- 12:21Dayna Roselli: But we want people from out of town to be able to avoid that too.
- 12:25Dayna Roselli: And I think I saw an article on LinkedIn where it was the president or CEO saying, uh, you know what, we want to do this and we want everyone to follow suit.
- 12:33Dayna Roselli: There's no reason to have these hidden fees.
- 12:36Sean McAllister: Well, and I know Dana, you were uh talking with your mom about this too, and she was saying just if you're gonna do resort fees, just roll it into the price of the hotel room and don't tack it on when you go and check in and you're you know, uh sometimes the the price of your stay almost doubles.
- 12:56Dayna Roselli: It's true.
- 12:56Dayna Roselli: I mean, listen, if it's if it's 150 and you've gotta make it 200, but it includes free parking, free Wi-Fi, use of the gym, you know, all that stuff, then you feel like, okay, I'm gonna pay 200 instead of 150, and it's gonna be worth it.
- 13:13Dayna Roselli: But you don't have to try and figure it out.
- 13:14Dayna Roselli: Trying to figure it out is a waste of our trip planning.
- 13:17Sean McAllister: It is.
- 13:18Sean McAllister: And you need to budget for your incredible meals and for your shopping and for your spa visit and alcohol.
- 13:26Dayna Roselli: And then all that stuff.
- 13:28Dayna Roselli: Yeah, a lot of people are excited about that.
- 13:30Dayna Roselli: So we look for they have great new restaurants opening, all sorts of different kinds of venues and pool areas.
- 13:37Dayna Roselli: So we'll talk more about that when it officially does open.
- 13:39Dayna Roselli: I'm sure we'll get over there, do a little self-tour and see what's going on.
- 13:43Sean McAllister: And again, that's uh March 25th that Virgin Hotels opens uh at the site of the former Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
- 13:52Sean McAllister: But there is other casino news, and uh the Venetian and Palazzo Dana are are two of the luxury resorts on the Las Vegas Strip uh that have become extremely popular, and they've just been sold.
- 14:06Sean McAllister: This was kind of surprising news.
- 14:08Dayna Roselli: Yeah, they sold for Sands Corporation, sold it for six point two five billion.
- 14:14Dayna Roselli: Wow.
- 14:15Dayna Roselli: Sorry, I was like, you know, it's even hard to read that.
- 14:17Dayna Roselli: That's a big number.
- 14:19Dayna Roselli: Uh so huge.
- 14:20Dayna Roselli: And I I guess there's the Sands is Sands is gonna shift its focus to Macau and Singapore.
- 14:26Dayna Roselli: So it leaves Las Vegas in the dust, and we have the Venetian and Palazzo up for sale.
- 14:32Sean McAllister: Yeah, and this comes after uh it was just last month, I believe, that the Sands Corporation uh founder, CEO, Sheldon Adelson passed away, and he was a big supporter of Las Vegas.
- 14:47Sean McAllister: He was uh largely credited with bringing convention business to Las Vegas and turning Las Vegas into a a big convention mecca.
- 14:59Sean McAllister: Um but it was after his passing that the Sands Corporation decided they were going to pull out of Las Vegas and focus on their properties in Asia.
- 15:09Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and I'm seeing, you know, in this article by CNBC, was it I don't know if I'm saying it right, Vicky or VC Properties said apparently they'll pay four billion for the real estate, the Venetian, the Palazzo, and the SANS Expo Convention Center.
- 15:22Dayna Roselli: Then Apollo Global Management said they'll buy operations for$2.25 billion, roughly half financed by the SANS.
- 15:30Dayna Roselli: So there's all these deals coming in.
- 15:32Sean McAllister: Yeah, so uh the big news though is that uh Venetian Palazzo, they they have been sold, SANS Corporation pulling out of Las Vegas.
- 15:42Sean McAllister: Um, but that shouldn't, I I don't think, uh interrupt the operations over at the Venetian and Palazzo and the level of uh hospitality that you would expect over at those properties should stay high level.
- 15:56Sean McAllister: So no worries there.
- 15:57Dayna Roselli: No, and you and I have spent a lot of time over there during these this last year.
- 16:00Dayna Roselli: We had we've had a lot of things over there that and we always love how easy it is to get in and out and just uh great property over there.
- 16:06Dayna Roselli: So hopefully not much will change, and if the changes do occur, hopefully they'll be for the better.
- 16:10Sean McAllister: Yeah, absolutely.
- 16:12Dayna Roselli: Okay, so you went to the Golden Knights game, the first Golden Knights game that allowed fans.
- 16:16Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 16:17Dayna Roselli: I have to say the first because I've seen other people go since, but you were at the first game back.
- 16:22Dayna Roselli: You decided to splurge, get some tickets, and I know you arrived a little early.
- 16:27Dayna Roselli: First of all, talk to us a little bit, Sean, about this experience because I think it's interesting for people who uh live here in Las Vegas to know, and also people that live in other cities that decide they want to go to a professional sports, you know, game or maybe when concerts open back up of the process you had to go through.
- 16:44Sean McAllister: So it was sprung on us pretty quickly within a week of announcing that 2,500 fans would be allowed inside T-Mobile Arena for the Golden Knights games.
- 16:51Sean McAllister: Tickets went on sale, which you know had people scrambling to try and get their hands on them.
- 16:57Sean McAllister: Uh they're not cheap, but you know, figured, hey, you know what?
- 17:01Sean McAllister: We haven't spent anything on entertainment for the past year, so let's splurge a little bit.
- 17:07Sean McAllister: It's a historic time to get back inside to see the Golden Knights play for the first time in a year.
- 17:14Sean McAllister: And so we did it.
- 17:15Sean McAllister: My husband and I got tickets, we went to the game, and uh there are precautions though that are being put in place for anybody who does go to the game.
- 17:26Dayna Roselli: And Sean, I love this.
- 17:28Dayna Roselli: While you were there, you did this step-by-step recording of what the experience was like.
- 17:34Dayna Roselli: So let's listen in.
- 17:36Sean McAllister: There is energy, there is excitement.
- 17:39Sean McAllister: Vegas fans are ready for hockey once again.
- 17:43Sean McAllister: Only 2,500 people will be allowed inside.
- 17:46Sean McAllister: But the scene here, let me describe it for you.
- 17:49Sean McAllister: Just coming up to T-Mobile Arena, we are arriving as the Ushers were arriving, and they were in a line outside T-Mobile Arena, and you can see there were fist bumps going on.
- 18:01Sean McAllister: These are people who haven't seen each other for a year, returning to work, returning to their jobs inside T-Mobile Arena.
- 18:08Sean McAllister: As for the precautions that have been put in place for fans who are arriving for the game on uh this Monday night, the first Monday night of hockey.
- 18:16Sean McAllister: It's so crazy to say that.
- 18:18Sean McAllister: Uh every fan has had to undergo a COVID-free screening.
- 18:23Sean McAllister: This is on uh the clear app.
- 18:26Sean McAllister: Uh you have to log on, uh, do a health screening, and uh once you pass the health screening, then you get uh essentially like one of those QR codes that is going to be scanned as you enter the arena, and that will let the arena staff know that you've been checked out, that you've answered the questions in a satisfactory way to allow you to get into the arena.
- 18:49Sean McAllister: And the tickets they're all uh ticket left.
- 18:53Sean McAllister: That's another little scanner code that you have uh to get inside for the game tonight.
- 18:58Sean McAllister: And each of the doors to get into T-Mobile Arena, they have been divided into sections.
- 19:04Sean McAllister: So you're only allowed to go into the door that your tickets correspond to.
- 19:10Sean McAllister: So they've also uh staggered the entry time for fans as they arrive tonight so that everybody isn't arriving and trying to get into those doors all at the same time.
- 19:20Sean McAllister: So some really good precautions, some really good organization ahead of the Golden Knights game tonight.
- 19:26SPEAKER_00: And once you get inside T-Mobile Arena, it's pretty orderly.
- 19:30SPEAKER_00: They have lanes kind of divided out that guide you directly to your section.
- 19:36SPEAKER_00: So, whatever door you come in that corresponds to the section on your ticket, you stay in that lane to go up an escalator, maybe you take a turn, whatever.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: But you stay in that lane the entire time until you get to your section.
- 19:53SPEAKER_00: And then each section has its own bathrooms and concession stands, too.
- 19:58Dayna Roselli: Well, it sounds like it was really organized and the experience was still enjoyable, right, Sean?
- 20:03Sean McAllister: Well, there were still you still had people around.
- 20:06Sean McAllister: You didn't feel like you were watching the game alone.
- 20:09Sean McAllister: So our two seats were in the middle of the row in our section.
- 20:14Sean McAllister: There was nobody else seated in our row.
- 20:17Dayna Roselli: Wow, that's like VIP.
- 20:19Sean McAllister: I mean, it was really nice.
- 20:20Sean McAllister: There was tons of elbow room.
- 20:21Sean McAllister: You could actually like set down your box of popcorn, set down your your beer, and didn't have to worry about anyone kicking it over.
- 20:28Sean McAllister: But the seats that weren't being used were kind of wrapped with uh these vinyl bands that made it so you couldn't even open the seats.
- 20:36Sean McAllister: So your only option was to sit in the seats that were assigned to you.
- 20:40Sean McAllister: And then the row in front of us had people on either aisle, and we didn't have anybody directly in front of us for another four rows, so they did a really good job of staggering people throughout the arena.
- 20:53Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's really great the way they had it.
- 20:55Dayna Roselli: And you posted a video on your Twitter.
- 20:57Dayna Roselli: We have that retweeted on our Vegas Revealed Twitter as well.
- 21:00Dayna Roselli: If you want to go visually look at what Sean's talking about.
- 21:03Dayna Roselli: And how was the vibe?
- 21:04Dayna Roselli: Did you feel like you were watching a game with other people, or was it because it was so spread out that it it felt a little lonely?
- 21:10Sean McAllister: No, it didn't feel lonely at all.
- 21:12Sean McAllister: Like people would turn around and you couldn't like physically high-five them, but people were given like air high-fives and groups of people that were seated together.
- 21:22Sean McAllister: You could only be seated in groups of four or less.
- 21:26Sean McAllister: Um you know, people were celebrating.
- 21:28Sean McAllister: You you you were I mean, people were pointing at each other.
- 21:31Sean McAllister: People were there's one guy that was complaining about the the Golden Knights, you know, R2 D2 C3PO helmets that they're like really shiny gold and saying that they're a curse, and you know, other fans were yelling back at him, saying, No, it's not a curse.
- 21:48Sean McAllister: We just won the game.
- 21:49Sean McAllister: So there was still that fan interaction happening.
- 21:53Dayna Roselli: Well, and then they won an O T and the video that you posted it's got like close to seven thousand views on Twitter if You haven't seen it.
- 22:01Dayna Roselli: It is the vibe and the people, even though they're spread out, it still looks super fun.
- 22:06Dayna Roselli: It is interesting though because you and I went to a game at T-Mobile, which was pretty much the It was the last game.
- 22:12Dayna Roselli: Was it the last game?
- 22:13Sean McAllister: Yeah, it was the last game that was played there before the shutdown.
- 22:16Dayna Roselli: I didn't even realize that.
- 22:17Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 22:17Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we're there.
- 22:19Dayna Roselli: And then I'm looking at your video now on Twitter, and you're massive.
- 22:22Dayna Roselli: And the one that I posted back then was you screaming and probably spitting all over.
- 22:29Dayna Roselli: I mean, not intentionally, but you know, what we're not supposed to do right now.
- 22:33Sean McAllister: I was aerosoling.
- 22:34Dayna Roselli: We're aerosoling.
- 22:35Dayna Roselli: Uh in the vibe.
- 22:37Dayna Roselli: We were, you know, in the box with with a lot of a bunch of people eating, drinking, and like the whole mine, and we're in the sand.
- 22:43Dayna Roselli: So it's so funny to see the difference before and after.
- 22:45Sean McAllister: It is.
- 22:46Sean McAllister: And I I'll I will tell you, I know we lost our voices.
- 22:50Sean McAllister: Shane and I lost our voices from cheering so loud and yelling because we thought, well, we have to make up for the noise.
- 22:59Sean McAllister: I mean, usually there's 17,000, 18,000 people in the arena when there's only 2,500.
- 23:04Sean McAllister: You have to make up for the noise that's not being made by the 14, 15,000 people that are absent.
- 23:10Sean McAllister: Um, but they were piping in some fan noise through the speakers throughout the game.
- 23:17Sean McAllister: So they would increase the volume when they wanted you to get louder, but it just added to the ambiance.
- 23:22Dayna Roselli: Oh, what a game.
- 23:23Dayna Roselli: I'm so glad that you splurged on the tickets and they won an OT.
- 23:27Dayna Roselli: That just made the whole exchange.
- 23:28Sean McAllister: It's an exciting game.
- 23:29Sean McAllister: And and the players, they as soon as they won, they skated around the ice with their sticks in the air, giving a nod to the fans.
- 23:36Sean McAllister: I saw that made an effort to come out and support the team.
- 23:39Sean McAllister: So I think that the the vibe of the fortress is what we call T-Mobile Arena when the Golden Knights are playing.
- 23:48Sean McAllister: That that vibe is back, and the players really, really feed off of that.
- 23:52Dayna Roselli: Oh, I love it.
- 23:53Dayna Roselli: Yeah, what a great experience.
- 23:54Dayna Roselli: I'm glad you got to do that.
- 23:56Dayna Roselli: And if you come out to Las Vegas, keep that in mind.
- 23:58Dayna Roselli: If you want to go to a professional sports game, if you want to go see the Golden Knights, tickets are available for a limited number of people right now.
- 24:04Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 24:05Dayna Roselli: Well, we have gotten a lot.
- 24:06Dayna Roselli: I think we could talk about a million other things, but we'll we'll save some of them till next week and our social.
- 24:11Dayna Roselli: But we do want to give some tips out, and so we're gonna take a quick break and we'll be back with some tips that include wine time.
- 24:21Dayna Roselli: It always involves alcohol.
- 24:22Dayna Roselli: That's okay.

- 25:08Dayna Roselli: So thanks again for listening, everyone.
- 25:13Sean McAllister: It is time for Dana and Sean's tips of the week.
- 25:16Sean McAllister: And this one actually comes courtesy of Kathy McGowan.
- 25:19Sean McAllister: She's one of our followers on Instagram, and she sent us this little tidbit.
- 25:23Sean McAllister: She said, Hey, do you guys know that there is a winery in Las Vegas?
- 25:29Sean McAllister: And we said, Why no, Kathy?
- 25:31Sean McAllister: We did not know that.
- 25:32Sean McAllister: Thank you for bringing it to our attention.
- 25:34Dayna Roselli: Yeah, she was saying it's a great local winery, and Patty's an old friend of mine, and her wine is yummy.
- 25:39Dayna Roselli: So I was like, okay, what's this?
- 25:41Dayna Roselli: I feel really guilty because Sean, you and I've lived here 15 plus years.
- 25:44Dayna Roselli: How do we not know about this?
- 25:46Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 25:46Sean McAllister: And this is like close to where I live.
- 25:49Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 25:49Dayna Roselli: What?
- 25:50Dayna Roselli: I mean, we knew there were some breweries over there.
- 25:53Sean McAllister: And some was it breweries and breweries, distilleries, breweries, yeah, but I think it's a good thing.
- 25:57Sean McAllister: Over in this section of town.
- 25:59Dayna Roselli: I didn't know about the winery.
- 26:00Sean McAllister: But the Vegas Valley Winery, it's open seven days a week for tastings.
- 26:04Sean McAllister: Uh, they also have options where you can like get a group of people together and do wine making.
- 26:12Sean McAllister: You can batch your own wine into barrels.
- 26:14Sean McAllister: They let it sit there.
- 26:16Sean McAllister: You go through the whole process of uh barreling your wine and then uh getting up to 240 bottles of wine out of the barrel that you and your friends or you and your co-workers end up creating, which is such a cool thing.
- 26:32Dayna Roselli: It is, yeah.
- 26:32Dayna Roselli: And they say you can do wine by the glass, also reservations recommended though for tastings that they have there.
- 26:40Sean McAllister: I love that.
- 26:40Sean McAllister: So they do uh winemaking meetups, you can just stop in for a glass of wine, do the tasting.
- 26:47Sean McAllister: Really cool.
- 26:48Sean McAllister: Love that uh love that we have the Vegas Valley winery here right on our uh back doorstep.
- 26:54Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 26:55Dayna Roselli: I think we're gonna have to go over there.
- 26:57Dayna Roselli: Especially because you live so close.
- 26:58Sean McAllister: And it looks like they're doing events for the Golden Knights hockey games, too.
- 27:02Dayna Roselli: Great.
- 27:03Dayna Roselli: Yeah, because I always know there's the wineries in Perom, but I had never heard of one so close to home here in Henderson.
- 27:10Dayna Roselli: So um it's a new discovery, and you know, we love that.
- 27:13Sean McAllister: Love that.
- 27:14Sean McAllister: Thanks for bringing that to our attention, Kathy.
- 27:16Sean McAllister: And any of you out there, if you have tips that you would like to have featured here on Vegas Revealed, hit us up.
- 27:21Sean McAllister: That one, like I said, Kathy shot us a little DM on Instagram, but hit us up on on Twitter, email, Facebook, Instagram, however you want to do it.
- 27:30Dayna Roselli: And speaking of Instagram, um Original Chaos is what uh they're what they're called.
- 27:35Dayna Roselli: We're talking about a band that always hits us up on Instagram.
- 27:38Dayna Roselli: They're always tagging us and and you know, letting us know when they have events and when they're performing.
- 27:42Dayna Roselli: And so I wanted to give a little shout out to Original Chaos.
- 27:45Dayna Roselli: This is actually a group made up of a bunch of different members of things that I knew them in previously, if that makes any sense.
- 27:54Sean McAllister: Um so members of different bands that have come together for a new band.
- 27:57Dayna Roselli: Or shows because Colin Scott Cahill, he was in Atomic Saloon at the Palazzo, which was a hilarious show, and he's in this band, and so is Die Richards from Tenors of Rock.
- 28:10Dayna Roselli: And I know there's a lot of other members in the band too.
- 28:12Dayna Roselli: Anyway, they have a bunch of things going on.
- 28:14Dayna Roselli: First of all, they're doing a live stream and a performance on March 20th.
- 28:19Dayna Roselli: So you can get in-person tickets, but limited, obviously, because of spacing.
- 28:22Dayna Roselli: It's at the space here in Las Vegas.
- 28:25Dayna Roselli: The live stream is 10 bucks.
- 28:26Dayna Roselli: They're gonna be doing uh the album from Guns N' Roses in full order, just like the vinyl, front to back.
- 28:33SPEAKER_00: That's pretty cool.
- 28:34Dayna Roselli: I know, right?
- 28:35Dayna Roselli: But they also perform at the Carnival Court over at Hara's many days from 2 p.m.
- 28:41Dayna Roselli: to 7 p.m.
- 28:42Dayna Roselli: So if you want to go see live music, they do it there and they've been doing this, and then they announce all their days on their Instagram.
- 28:51Dayna Roselli: It's at original chaos LV.
- 28:54Sean McAllister: And let me tell you, that Carnival Court over there at Harrah's, that is good people watching.
- 28:58Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's hopping, right?
- 29:00Dayna Roselli: And good viewing.
- 29:01Dayna Roselli: You're right, you're right.
- 29:02Dayna Roselli: Yeah, they they've been able to have live music there for quite a while.
- 29:06Dayna Roselli: I know Vin A from the Bronx Wanderers does some performances over there too.
- 29:11Dayna Roselli: So, you know, 2 to 7 p.m., just sit, have a beer, have a snack, listen to some music.
- 29:16Sean McAllister: Because that is an open-air venue, so it does allow for people to uh, you know, socially distance, but you have the the air blowing through there too, so it's not like a theater.
- 29:26Sean McAllister: So yeah, Carnival Court over at Harris, original chaos.
- 29:29Sean McAllister: Go check them out.
- 29:31Dayna Roselli: All right, and another thing we've been tossing around, and maybe we need some feedback from some of our listeners.
- 29:36Dayna Roselli: Should we start a segment called Rumors Revealed?
- 29:42Dayna Roselli: We get a lot of rumors.
- 29:44Dayna Roselli: There's a lot of rumors, we hear a lot of rumors, we know a lot of things, but you know, we're journalists by heart, so we always feel like everything needs to be fact-based.
- 29:52Dayna Roselli: But sometimes we hear things that are just a little juicy that, you know, if we say that it's not 100%, but we're just hearing, would it be interesting listenership conversation?
- 30:06Sean McAllister: Would you be interested in rumors revealed right here on Vegas Reveal?
- 30:12Dayna Roselli: I mean, Sean was like, we could disguise voices and have people call in.
- 30:15Dayna Roselli: We had all sorts of ideas.
- 30:16Dayna Roselli: So we're still thinking about it because uh some of it is interesting Vegas stuff.
- 30:21Sean McAllister: It is.
- 30:22Sean McAllister: It's it's it's good fodder.
- 30:24Dayna Roselli: It is good fodder.
- 30:25Sean McAllister: And you know what?
- 30:25Sean McAllister: A lot of the rumors that we hear and and some of the uh below the surface rumblings end up coming true.
- 30:33Sean McAllister: True.
- 30:35Dayna Roselli: Very true.
- 30:36Dayna Roselli: But anyway, some things are interesting, and I don't even know if I want to exactly call them a rumor, but something we heard that we even sometimes we already know is gonna happen, but if we call it a rumor, then we we don't have to admit we already know the end result.
- 30:48Sean McAllister: Our our uh good friend and you know former entertainment colleague, uh Robin Leach, rest his soul, he would always call them racy rumors and wild whispers.
- 31:00Dayna Roselli: There you go.
- 31:00Dayna Roselli: Wild whispers.
- 31:01Dayna Roselli: I like that.
- 31:02Dayna Roselli: Oh my goodness.
- 31:03Dayna Roselli: Hey, uh, in a in another little shout out, uh, a bunch of people from a station here in Las Vegas at the NBC affiliate were laid off.
- 31:10Dayna Roselli: A lot of them have worked there for a long time.
- 31:11Dayna Roselli: And Sean and I being in broadcasting many, you know, many, many years in our career, we feel their pain.
- 31:18Dayna Roselli: They're all excellent, and we just want to say we hate for anyone to lose their job, and we wish them the very best.
- 31:24Dayna Roselli: And a bunch of people from your old station at Fox Five lost their jobs because of COVID.
- 31:28Sean McAllister: Yeah, and it's been a tough time for the the broadcasting industry, and uh we definitely uh feel for our colleagues who have been let go and wish them absolutely nothing but the best moving forward because they're extremely talented and uh assets to, you know, wherever they go in their next venture.
- 31:48Dayna Roselli: But we were thinking too, like, should we all come together and do like an online newscast, maybe like once a week or every day at 5 p.m.
- 31:56Dayna Roselli: or something?
- 31:57Dayna Roselli: You know, we've got Sean McAllister, Dana Roselli, Rachel Smith, Christine Medella, Heather Mills, Gerard Romalo.
- 32:05Dayna Roselli: And there are plenty of others who are not unemployed but might volunteer a few hours per week to be part of it, you know, Nina Raditic, Beth Fisher.
- 32:14Dayna Roselli: I mean, we could go on and on.
- 32:15Dayna Roselli: All of these people have lost their jobs or left TV for reasons, usually personal life, career-wise, whatever, but have stayed in Las Vegas and are contributing to the community still.
- 32:29Dayna Roselli: And we thought, you know, what if we all came together and did our own thing?
- 32:32Dayna Roselli: So, food for thought.
- 32:33Dayna Roselli: If anyone has any great ideas of how we could fund this, we'd love to hear it.
- 32:36Sean McAllister: Yeah, angel, angel investors wanted.
- 32:39Dayna Roselli: Angel investors wanted, I know.
- 32:41Dayna Roselli: And listen, uh, coming up soon, we did do an interview this week that we we had to get under our belt, but it's gonna run a little bit closer to and around April 1st because we interviewed one of the contestants on the new Top Chef.
- 32:54Dayna Roselli: And what we will say is she's a female chef.
- 32:56Sean McAllister: Yeah, and she's fantastic.
- 32:58Sean McAllister: The new season of Top Chef premieres on the Bravo Network, April 1st.
- 33:02Sean McAllister: So uh you'll be hearing that conversation.
- 33:04Sean McAllister: It's a tasty conversation, too.
- 33:06Sean McAllister: And sassy.
- 33:07Dayna Roselli: It sure is sassy.
- 33:08Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's fun.
- 33:09Dayna Roselli: Listen, thanks for joining us.
- 33:10Dayna Roselli: We could go on and on.
- 33:11Dayna Roselli: Make sure you're always on top of our socials.
- 33:13Dayna Roselli: We're on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook, and we have our YouTube channel as well.
- 33:19Sean McAllister: We'll see you back here next week for episode 60 of Vegas Revealed.
- 33:26SPEAKER_00: Let's go back, let's go.
- 33:28SPEAKER_00: Let's go back, let's go, let's go back.
- 33:32SPEAKER_00: Let's go.
- 33:34unknown: Let's go.
