- 0:33Speaker 1: characterize Miss Maxwell's relationship with Chelsea Clinton? Answer friendly question?

- 1:00Speaker 1: question did she also receive an invitation to the wedding
- 1:03Speaker 1: or was she your plus one? Answer? I don't recall
- 1:06Speaker 1: how the invitation was addressed? Question what wedding events did
- 1:09Speaker 1: you attend on the day of Chelsea Clinton's wedding. Answer,
- 1:13Speaker 1: I don't remember. Question I can give you some examples,
- 1:17Speaker 1: for example, ceremony, reception, any other events including cocktail hour, rehearsal, dinner.
- 1:22Speaker 1: What wedding events did you attend with Miss Maxwell on
- 1:25Speaker 1: the day of Chelsea Clinton's wedding. Answer? I recall attending
- 1:29Speaker 1: the ceremony in the events afterward. I don't recall attending
- 1:33Speaker 1: something the night before. Question And was Miss Maxwell with
- 1:37Speaker 1: you throughout both these events? Answer? Not continuously, but I
- 1:40Speaker 1: believe so. Question did Miss Maxwell or you interact with
- 1:44Speaker 1: President Clinton at any of those wedding events? Answer? I
- 1:48Speaker 1: don't recall any specific interactions. I would assume so. But
- 1:52Speaker 1: question did you and miss Maxwell interact with Chelsea Clinton
- 1:55Speaker 1: on that wedding day? Answer? I would assume so. It
- 1:58Speaker 1: was a big, big wedding, So I don't real for sure.
- 2:01Speaker 1: I think you would know better than me how many
- 2:04Speaker 1: people were there, But it was a large wedding, and
- 2:06Speaker 1: as you know at weddings, the bride is usually quite busy.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Question how did other people attending the wedding event react
- 2:14Speaker 1: to you bringing Miss Maxwell to the wedding? Answer? She
- 2:17Speaker 1: knew people there. Answered did anyone seem surprised or question
- 2:20Speaker 1: did anyone seem surprised? Answer? No, question did you need
- 2:24Speaker 1: to go through any Secret Service protocols or procedures to
- 2:26Speaker 1: go to Chelsea Clinton's wedding since her father was President Clinton?
- 2:30Speaker 1: Answer not that I know of. Question did Miss Maxwell
- 2:33Speaker 1: go through any? Answer? Not that I know of. Question.
- 2:36Speaker 1: In two thousand and nine, the year before Chelsea Clinton's wedding,
- 2:39Speaker 1: Miss Maxwell had been subpoenaed to testify in a civil
- 2:42Speaker 1: case against Jeffrey Epstein, which was brought by one of
- 2:45Speaker 1: his accusers, And then months before Chelsea's wedding, Miss Maxwell
- 2:49Speaker 1: claimed she could not appear for her deposition because she
- 2:52Speaker 1: claimed she was out of the country for family reasons.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Were you aware that Miss Maxwell was actively avoiding her
- 2:58Speaker 1: appearance at a deposition at the time she attended Chelsea
- 3:01Speaker 1: Clinton's wedding with you? Answer no, not that I recall.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Question did you ever discuss the deposition with Miss Maxwell? Answer?
- 3:10Speaker 1: I remember it being an issue, but I don't remember
- 3:12Speaker 1: it being an issue at that time. I think it
- 3:14Speaker 1: was later question can you elaborate a little bit on
- 3:17Speaker 1: what you mean by an issue? Answer? Later in our relationship,
- 3:21Speaker 1: she was quite stressed about a deposition, subpoena whatever. I'm
- 3:25Speaker 1: not exactly sure what it was. There were some legal
- 3:27Speaker 1: matters going on pertaining to mister Epstein that she was
- 3:30Speaker 1: upset about mister Spector later in your relationship, So when
- 3:34Speaker 1: are you talking about, mister Waite. It would have been
- 3:38Speaker 1: I guess it would have been that time in twenty ten,
- 3:41Speaker 1: mister Spector, so right around the time of the wedding.
- 3:44Speaker 1: Mister wait, yeah, I don't know if it was before
- 3:46Speaker 1: or after. Ms Cathay. Did you ever try to assist
- 3:50Speaker 1: Miss Maxwell with the deposition or anything related to her
- 3:53Speaker 1: being brought to court? Answer no question. You didn't pay
- 3:56Speaker 1: for attorneys anywhere. Were you aware that Miss Maxwell was
- 3:59Speaker 1: avoiding the position by saying she was out of town
- 4:02Speaker 1: for an extended period of time? Answer no question. Do
- 4:06Speaker 1: you know if she ever actually left the country in
- 4:07Speaker 1: twenty ten? Answer I don't know. Question. She also claimed
- 4:11Speaker 1: that her mother was sick. Were you aware of her
- 4:13Speaker 1: mother being sick at any point in those two years?
- 4:16Speaker 1: Answer at some point, I remember her mother, but I
- 4:19Speaker 1: don't know if I don't know if it was that time.
- 4:22Speaker 1: Answer I don't recall. Question. Did she often visit her
- 4:26Speaker 1: family back in England. Answer yes. Question about how often?
- 4:29Speaker 1: Answer once or twice a year or maybe? Question did
- 4:32Speaker 1: you ever go with her? Answer yes? Question can you
- 4:35Speaker 1: recount those times? Answer? I don't know exactly what the
- 4:38Speaker 1: dates were. Question can you describe a little bit more
- 4:41Speaker 1: about the trips that you took with her to see
- 4:44Speaker 1: your family there? Answer? I just remember going once to
- 4:47Speaker 1: meet her mother. Question did you ever discourage her from
- 4:50Speaker 1: avoiding the deposition or did you ever encourage her to
- 4:53Speaker 1: go to the deposition? Answer? I don't recall that level
- 4:57Speaker 1: that detail of conversation around that topic. Question. Glenn Maxwell
- 5:01Speaker 1: was arrested on July second, twenty twenty, and charged with,
- 5:05Speaker 1: among other things, the recruitment, the grooming, and the abuse
- 5:08Speaker 1: of underage girls and other women in the nineties and
- 5:12Speaker 1: early two thousands. So when did you first learn that
- 5:15Speaker 1: miss Maxwell had been arrested? Answer the same time as
- 5:19Speaker 1: everybody else on television. Question were you surprised when you
- 5:22Speaker 1: learned that she'd been arrested? Answer there had been a
- 5:25Speaker 1: lot of press leading up to that, so I don't
- 5:27Speaker 1: think at that point I was surprised. Question what was
- 5:30Speaker 1: your initial reaction when you first heard about the rumor
- 5:33Speaker 1: that she had been or had been arrested. Answer, it
- 5:36Speaker 1: was quite surreal, mister spector. Question approximately when do you
- 5:41Speaker 1: think that you were aware that she was a person
- 5:43Speaker 1: of interest of some kind by a law enforcement I
- 5:47Speaker 1: assume prior to July second, twenty twenty, based on your testimony. Answer.
- 5:51Speaker 1: I believe that as the press escalated. I didn't read
- 5:54Speaker 1: a lot of it, but it was kind of unavoidable,
- 5:57Speaker 1: so it would have been after the Miami Herald article.
- 5:59Speaker 1: I think there was a great article that exposed all
- 6:02Speaker 1: of it. So I think that was in twenty eighteen
- 6:04Speaker 1: or twenty nineteen, and then things escalated after that. Questions, So,
- 6:09Speaker 1: just to be clear, during knowledge of the crime she
- 6:11Speaker 1: was at the time alleged to have committed came from
- 6:14Speaker 1: the media reports and not from any firsthand knowledge. Answer
- 6:17Speaker 1: that's correct. Question, it came from media reports. Answer from
- 6:20Speaker 1: the media. Question by miss Cathay. Did you discuss the
- 6:24Speaker 1: allegations with Miss Maxwell at any point? Answer no question.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Did you have any contact with Miss Maxwell in the
- 6:31Speaker 1: years the investigation was ongoing, Answer no question. Did you
- 6:35Speaker 1: have any contact with her after she was arrested? Answer
- 6:38Speaker 1: no question. Did you assist her in any way in
- 6:41Speaker 1: the criminal investigation against her. Answer not that I know of.
- 6:45Speaker 1: Question by mister spector, did you have any conversation with
- 6:49Speaker 1: President Clinton about the crimes about the fact that miss
- 6:52Speaker 1: Maxwell was under suspicion of these crimes? Answer not that
- 6:56Speaker 1: I know of. I don't recall any specific discussion with
- 6:58Speaker 1: them about that. Question. Do any conversations in general jump
- 7:02Speaker 1: out to you that you had with other people that
- 7:04Speaker 1: knew Miss Maxwell at the time? Answer? Could you be
- 7:06Speaker 1: more clear? Question? Yeah, President Clinton is a notable figure
- 7:10Speaker 1: than new Glenn Maxwell. Were there any other notable individuals
- 7:14Speaker 1: that knew Miss Maxwell that you knew that you reached
- 7:17Speaker 1: out to or talk with about the fact that Miss
- 7:20Speaker 1: Maxwell was under suspicion of these crimes? Answer? I don't
- 7:24Speaker 1: recall anybody specifically, like a notable person talking to them,
- 7:28Speaker 1: mister spector. Okay, Miss Cathay. Question I'm asking specifically in
- 7:33Speaker 1: this question about the time frame after you broke up
- 7:36Speaker 1: and then leading up to her arrest. Did you have
- 7:38Speaker 1: any suspicions about her involvement in any kind of criminal activity? Answer? No.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Question do you have any suspicions based on your time
- 7:46Speaker 1: dating her that would have led you to believe the
- 7:49Speaker 1: investigation was warranted and answer nothing that I can really recall.
- 7:54Speaker 1: There were things around mister Epstein, and she always denied
- 7:57Speaker 1: any direct involvement in any of those issues. So yeah,
- 8:00Speaker 1: you know there was this two thousand and eight conviction
- 8:03Speaker 1: which we discussed and she denied having any involvement with that.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Question how many times did you talk about that with her?
- 8:10Speaker 1: Let me rephrase, did you have multiple discussions with miss
- 8:13Speaker 1: Maxwell where she over and over denied that she was involved? Answer?
- 8:17Speaker 1: I don't recall having multiple discussions questions, So you believed
- 8:21Speaker 1: her when she said she wasn't involved. Answer I had
- 8:23Speaker 1: no reason not to. Ms Cathay. I think that's a
- 8:26Speaker 1: good stopping point. We'll go off the record for this
- 8:29Speaker 1: first hour. Thank you. So they go to recess. Now
- 8:32Speaker 1: they're back questioning by redacted questions, so we can go
- 8:36Speaker 1: back on the record. Good morning, mister Waite, my name
- 8:38Speaker 1: is redacted. I'll be doing the majority of questioning for
- 8:42Speaker 1: the minority today. We appreciate you coming in, We appreciate
- 8:46Speaker 1: your time. As you know, today's conversation we'll focus on
- 8:49Speaker 1: your relationship with primarily Glenn Maxwell, as well as some
- 8:53Speaker 1: questions about Jeffrey Epstein. Some of the questions we ask
- 8:57Speaker 1: might be a little repetitive, but I'm going to do
- 8:59Speaker 1: my best to keep that to a bare minimum, So
- 9:01Speaker 1: that's what I'll strive for. Just had two quick follow
- 9:04Speaker 1: up questions on content in previous round. One with respect
- 9:08Speaker 1: to the dinner in Hong Kong where you first met
- 9:10Speaker 1: Miss Maxwell. Just for a clarification, you were not on
- 9:13Speaker 1: that trip that President Clinton was on. Is that right? Answer? No,
- 9:17Speaker 1: I was not on that trip. Question Were you already
- 9:20Speaker 1: in Hong Kong? Answer yes, question business or something like that. Answer,
- 9:24Speaker 1: I was there on business. I saw the newspaper that
- 9:27Speaker 1: President Clinton was in town. Question I understand, as you know,
- 9:31Speaker 1: when you arrived at the dinner, as far as you
- 9:33Speaker 1: can remember, did you have any knowledge of who mister
- 9:36Speaker 1: Epstein or Miss Maxwell were? Answer no. Question One other
- 9:40Speaker 1: question with respect to the meeting you described kind of
- 9:44Speaker 1: one more substantive meeting with mister Epstein. That was a
- 9:46Speaker 1: little odd. I just might not have heard it. But
- 9:50Speaker 1: was there an approximate date for that meeting? Answer early
- 9:53Speaker 1: two thousand and four? Question? And that meeting that Miss
- 9:56Speaker 1: Maxwell's New York home. Answer yep Question were the three
- 10:00Speaker 1: of you the only people present at the meeting. Answer
- 10:03Speaker 1: she was not present at the meeting. Answer, oh, just
- 10:05Speaker 1: the two of you? Answer just the two of us?
- 10:08Speaker 1: Question got it? Okay? I think you had said but
- 10:11Speaker 1: is that the only time that you ever had a
- 10:13Speaker 1: one on one with just the two of you? Answer? Yes.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Question you touched on in the previous round. Could you
- 10:21Speaker 1: try from thirty thousand feet to just describe the general
- 10:24Speaker 1: arc of your relationship with miss Maxwell? I know when
- 10:27Speaker 1: it started, I know when it ended. Did it sort
- 10:29Speaker 1: of get gradually more serious before it tapered off? How
- 10:32Speaker 1: do you view in summary the relationship? Answer? I mean,
- 10:36Speaker 1: in summary, it was, like I said, started in two
- 10:38Speaker 1: thousand and four, ended in twenty ten. I'm trying to
- 10:41Speaker 1: figure out exactly what you're looking for. Answer. Well, you
- 10:43Speaker 1: know you talked about at a point of the separation
- 10:46Speaker 1: not having perceived a realistic probability of marriage. Answer yeah.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Question was that always your perception or was there a
- 10:54Speaker 1: point halfway through when you thought maybe this is heading
- 10:57Speaker 1: for marriage? How did that unfold? Answer? Yeah? Again, And
- 11:00Speaker 1: from the beginning of the relationship, I was very clear
- 11:03Speaker 1: that I was not going to marry her. I was
- 11:05Speaker 1: going through a divorce. I wasn't looking to get married
- 11:08Speaker 1: at any time soon. I had four children. That was
- 11:10Speaker 1: my big priority. I would say that the relationship was
- 11:13Speaker 1: kind of I don't want to call it on and
- 11:15Speaker 1: off again because I was with my kids a lot
- 11:18Speaker 1: of the time, so every other week I had them
- 11:20Speaker 1: full custody, and then she would be off doing her thing.
- 11:24Speaker 1: Question and when you first met, when you first started
- 11:27Speaker 1: dating miss Maxwell, Let's say your understanding of her relationship
- 11:30Speaker 1: with mister Epstein certainly is that they were no longer
- 11:33Speaker 1: romantically connected? Is that correct? Answer? Yes, question, and you
- 11:37Speaker 1: understood she worked for mister Epstein. Answer yes, question, and
- 11:41Speaker 1: that was your understanding. I think you touched on it.
- 11:44Speaker 1: But your understanding of exactly what she did for mister
- 11:47Speaker 1: Epstein when you first started dating her. Answer something and
- 11:50Speaker 1: a state or a property manager type question is various
- 11:53Speaker 1: physical properties? Answer yes. All right, folks, we're gonna wrap
- 11:57Speaker 1: up right here, and in the next episode dealing with
- 11:59Speaker 1: the topic, we're gonna pick up where we left off.
- 12:01Speaker 1: All the information that goes with this episode can be
- 12:04Speaker 1: found in the description box.
