- 0:03Speaker 1: This is a podcast called twenty five whistle Stocking Football
- 0:08Speaker 1: and they all were the whist So yes, but what
- 0:12Speaker 1: did you expect? It's a podcast called twenty five Whistles
- 0:20Speaker 1: Big one Today, Michael Rapporter be on and we'll talk
- 0:22Speaker 1: college football since this is game time now with Brandon
- 0:26Speaker 1: Marcello from to four seven Sports, which I was calling seven,
- 0:29Speaker 1: which I thought that's the natural thing, and I hear
- 0:31Speaker 1: people call it two four seven w seven right, So
- 0:33Speaker 1: I'm wanna say I'm both in case somebody bust my balls.
- 0:36Speaker 1: Go to Instagram follow us. What's the whistles? Because who
- 0:40Speaker 1: also take that name? It's a dumbest name everything, right,
- 0:42Speaker 1: because we're doing twenty five shows and then we quit
- 0:43Speaker 1: this thing. Uh so welcome. This has brought to us
- 0:47Speaker 1: by Draft Kings Sports Book, an official sports betting partner
- 0:49Speaker 1: of the NFL. Download the Draft Kings app and use
- 0:52Speaker 1: the code Bobby sports to get it on the action.
- 0:54Speaker 1: Always a lot of cool promos with Draft Kings. We
- 0:56Speaker 1: appreciate them so much. Let's warm up with the warm up.
- 1:00Speaker 1: You get ready to warm up with the warm up? Alright?
- 1:02Speaker 1: Warm up? Question number one if you can snap your
- 1:06Speaker 1: fingers and one team goes win less in college football
- 1:08Speaker 1: this year? Who is the team that goes winless? I'll
- 1:11Speaker 1: take your shoe size and who goes winless? First? Let's
- 1:17Speaker 1: go to kick off. Kevin shoe size is twelve. Winless
- 1:20Speaker 1: would be USC. I don't know. Growing up in southern California,
- 1:25Speaker 1: I can't stay in their fans and probably some of
- 1:27Speaker 1: them are listening to this. I'm sorry, but I'm not
- 1:29Speaker 1: and I just think that they're arrogant. They haven't been
- 1:31Speaker 1: relevant how many years, and they still think that they're
- 1:33Speaker 1: going to be in the championship every year. Again this
- 1:35Speaker 1: year it's like all of a suddenly. I mean, they're
- 1:39Speaker 1: probably gonna win the Pack twelve, but competing with teams
- 1:41Speaker 1: outside the Pack twelve, I just don't see it happening.
- 1:44Speaker 1: All it takes is getting there, been shut out for
- 1:48Speaker 1: a while. Out of that they could actually make it
- 1:50Speaker 1: this year. I still think you will win the Pack twelve,
- 1:53Speaker 1: all right, Eddie, Oh, I think that them. Let's go
- 1:56Speaker 1: Alabama if I can snap up, didn't you bet on Alabama?
- 1:59Speaker 1: I did? If I can my finger and be like,
- 2:02Speaker 1: you know, let's give every college football fan a chance here.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Let's get Alabama out of this and go winless, winless,
- 2:08Speaker 1: Crimson tie and my shoe sizes. I'd go eleven, okay,
- 2:12Speaker 1: because that's like when Eddie goes, let's go with six
- 2:16Speaker 1: ft tall, Like, okay, thank you, Eddie. Eleven is more comfortable,
- 2:21Speaker 1: ten and a half fourteen. It's a little wiggly, though, Mike.
- 2:27Speaker 1: I'm going with Tennessee because I'm a Texas fan and
- 2:31Speaker 1: every time somebody says U T I get him confused, funny.
- 2:33Speaker 1: So I'll go with them and zero and then I'm
- 2:35Speaker 1: inside of eleven adam so soon a half, I'm gonna
- 2:40Speaker 1: go Auburn. I don't really know why. Um just not
- 2:43Speaker 1: a big fan of their fans. Sometimes I think they
- 2:45Speaker 1: tend to think they're better than they are, that you
- 2:47Speaker 1: have Alabama inferiority complex and and they're the luckiest. They're
- 2:50Speaker 1: the luckiest team on the planet. We all know that
- 2:53Speaker 1: I'm gonna go. It was either going to be Texas
- 2:57Speaker 1: or Tennessee, same as Mike's both. You tease, but no,
- 3:00Speaker 1: that's not why I think. Because we're not playing Texas
- 3:03Speaker 1: and I kind of don't care. I'm gonna go with
- 3:05Speaker 1: Tennessee as well. Because we talked to Paul five bam
- 3:08Speaker 1: last week, and they just I don't know why they
- 3:11Speaker 1: think they're still relevant. I mean understand why they think
- 3:13Speaker 1: they're building back toward it now because they have a
- 3:15Speaker 1: good coach and pretty good quarterback and we'll see how
- 3:17Speaker 1: good he is. When have they been in a national
- 3:21Speaker 1: championship game since? Again, T Martin, right, I mean, that's forever.
- 3:26Speaker 1: They and I live here and have a lot of
- 3:28Speaker 1: friends are Tennessee fans. But I can't take it. If
- 3:30Speaker 1: they're this hard to stomach when they're winning eight games,
- 3:35Speaker 1: what are they gonna be like? And I live here?
- 3:37Speaker 1: Maybe that's also why ird final question in the tittle
- 3:41Speaker 1: or in the warm up, Eddie, it's about the poster
- 3:43Speaker 1: or the one you wanted to ask. Go ahead, all right?
- 3:46Speaker 1: So Len Dawson died, you know a couple of weeks ago.
- 3:48Speaker 1: So Lyn Dawson, the old old school quarterback, was smoking
- 3:50Speaker 1: the cigarette the Kan City Chiefs. There's that picture. He's smoking,
- 3:53Speaker 1: or rather smoking, he's smoking and Kevin to the drinking thing,
- 3:58Speaker 1: and I was like, I guess I get confused. They're
- 3:59Speaker 1: both pretty amazing. And if I remember correctly, it was
- 4:02Speaker 1: during halftime, like so he was gonna go out and
- 4:04Speaker 1: play another half hat of that. Amazing. So that's a
- 4:08Speaker 1: picture I remember, and I thinking, like, you know, we
- 4:10Speaker 1: all had sports posters in our room. What was your
- 4:13Speaker 1: favorite sports poster in our room growing up? Okay, Kevin
- 4:17Speaker 1: and in your room you had to have it, Um,
- 4:19Speaker 1: I had to have it growing up, probably during the nineties.
- 4:24Speaker 1: I'd say Jordan's for sure, Jordan dunk in the basketball
- 4:28Speaker 1: during Dunk Contest where he was or just a random
- 4:31Speaker 1: Now I think it's just a Nike Jordan's Jordan poster.
- 4:34Speaker 1: I had a had a Barry Bonds poster, which is
- 4:37Speaker 1: like super random. Um, but I love a RBA Baseball
- 4:39Speaker 1: three for the regular Nintendo and the Pirates were my
- 4:43Speaker 1: jam because I love just knocking dangers with Barry Bonds,
- 4:47Speaker 1: and like I bought the poster and a small but
- 4:48Speaker 1: like three years later, it's going off the whole ball.
- 4:50Speaker 1: I don't even know what happened. I just kept growing
- 4:51Speaker 1: and then uh yeah, Bonds with the Pirates was cool
- 4:55Speaker 1: because Andy van Slie, Barry Bonds, Bobby Banilla played in
- 4:58Speaker 1: that same team. That's a good that's a good mix
- 5:00Speaker 1: of Squire's players. Do you Bo Jackson? I had this. Uh.
- 5:05Speaker 1: I don't remember if it was black and white or color.
- 5:07Speaker 1: I feel like it was black and white. But he
- 5:09Speaker 1: had shoulder pads on and he had the baseball bat
- 5:11Speaker 1: over his shoulders, and that picture was cool because of
- 5:14Speaker 1: course he's ripped. And man, I remember being like bo
- 5:16Speaker 1: Jackson is amazing. Do you want to answer mind for me?
- 5:22Speaker 1: In my room as a kid? Oh gosh, I know this.
- 5:25Speaker 1: He didn't have a room. Guy, never had a bedroom
- 5:27Speaker 1: till I was. For a minute there, I'm thinking like, okay,
- 5:32Speaker 1: well he was Mark Grace. Yeah, I've never had a
- 5:39Speaker 1: bedroom until I got older in college actually, and then
- 5:42Speaker 1: that was just posted for myself every night. I was like,
- 5:44Speaker 1: I want to be that guy like McConaughey. Alright, time
- 5:47Speaker 1: for the tittle tattle. Let's go over to kick off Kevin. Kevin,
- 5:50Speaker 1: all right, who do you trust more to have a
- 5:52Speaker 1: better bounce back season? Christian McCaffrey or sae Quon Barkley.
- 5:55Speaker 1: Oh my god's good. It's a good question. You bet
- 5:58Speaker 1: on both, so like break up, body part to be injured?
- 6:03Speaker 1: Oh boy, ada'm I'll go to you on this show first.
- 6:06Speaker 1: Oh I thought you answered that. We do, But I
- 6:07Speaker 1: feel like you need to go. Oh, I don't like
- 6:10Speaker 1: the Giants offensive line. That's been such a weakness for
- 6:12Speaker 1: so long. Man, it's just gonna be really hard to
- 6:14Speaker 1: run behind that massive, tangled nonsense. So you're going to
- 6:18Speaker 1: say I'm going Chris, I'm going Christian McCaffrey's I'm gonna
- 6:21Speaker 1: go with McCaffrey to have a better year this year,
- 6:25Speaker 1: and they're both gonna miss a couple of games with
- 6:27Speaker 1: something though, right Like if you draw, I just think
- 6:30Speaker 1: all fantasy here because I'm not a fan of either
- 6:31Speaker 1: one of those teams, although I'm a Panthers fan this
- 6:34Speaker 1: season because of Baker. I like Baker Mayfield. Obviously he
- 6:38Speaker 1: was gonna be the Starter's gonna be the starter that
- 6:39Speaker 1: they've announced that. Now, I'm gonna go with McCaffrey because
- 6:43Speaker 1: I'm gonna be a Panthers fan this year, and I
- 6:46Speaker 1: think he's got a better shot because of what he
- 6:49Speaker 1: has around him to not be used every freaking play.
- 6:52Speaker 1: I think Daniel Jones, what's you know? What can he do?
- 6:57Speaker 1: You know? Not much? So I'm gonna go with If
- 7:00Speaker 1: I'm drafting one of those players, which I don't have
- 7:02Speaker 1: that spot in any draft, I'm probably gonna go McCaffrey
- 7:05Speaker 1: over stake Kwon Barkley. All right. Next one, Madden twenty
- 7:08Speaker 1: three is getting a lot of bad reviews from players
- 7:11Speaker 1: people around the world, So it's kind of a two
- 7:13Speaker 1: part of here, what's your favorite Madden of all time?
- 7:15Speaker 1: And is Madden really that bad? Not because you guys play.
- 7:17Speaker 1: My favorite Man of all time is whatever comes out
- 7:19Speaker 1: the latest version of it, the other newest one. Yeah.
- 7:21Speaker 1: People are always people up at everything. I know. Yeah,
- 7:23Speaker 1: I like, hey, guy gave a charity. Oh he didn't
- 7:26Speaker 1: give enough. Yeah, exactly, It's fine you like it. Madden
- 7:34Speaker 1: doesn't year the year make any humongous changes. That's always
- 7:38Speaker 1: the issue people have with It's like, oh man, there's
- 7:41Speaker 1: no big change. I can tell you one big change
- 7:43Speaker 1: this year. Now you can push triangle and people will
- 7:45Speaker 1: try to trade with you instead of you going to
- 7:47Speaker 1: trade with them, which is pretty cool because you're like,
- 7:49Speaker 1: let me see my options are for these players that
- 7:52Speaker 1: never happened. It's awesome. The game's awesome. What sucks sometimes
- 7:55Speaker 1: is he A servers. But that's also on basketball server
- 7:58Speaker 1: video game servers. The e A servers though, because they're
- 8:01Speaker 1: so popular at times go down a bit more, what
- 8:04Speaker 1: seemingly to me than any other game. Do they disconnect
- 8:08Speaker 1: you like during the game, it'll just be down. It'll
- 8:12Speaker 1: be like, oh, we're doing mate, we're doing routine maintenance.
- 8:14Speaker 1: It's two pm on a Thursday. You don't do routine
- 8:16Speaker 1: mainte that's a two pm on a Thursday. I think
- 8:19Speaker 1: the game is great, Yeah, I think it's great. And
- 8:21Speaker 1: now you can move, you can move your team, you
- 8:24Speaker 1: can relocate. I took Cowboys, told you last week moving
- 8:27Speaker 1: out to Dallas. There Now they'll call m City Bison
- 8:30Speaker 1: to piss off everybody in my league. What's up? That's
- 8:32Speaker 1: actually the thing I thought. I was you just trying
- 8:34Speaker 1: to get ot of Dallas. No, that's a thing. Yeah,
- 8:37Speaker 1: that's the thing. All right. What else? If you had
- 8:39Speaker 1: to choose a non quarterback to win the Heisman this year,
- 8:41Speaker 1: who would it be? Well? To be fair, Brandon Marcello
- 8:45Speaker 1: and I talked about this coming up in the interview,
- 8:48Speaker 1: and let's just say he's an edge player at the
- 8:50Speaker 1: University of Alabama who's freaking awesome. And I'll let him
- 8:53Speaker 1: talk about that. But if I didn't already think that
- 8:57Speaker 1: for sure, think that now. Believe that Brandon talks about
- 8:59Speaker 1: it coming out just a little bit. What else outside
- 9:01Speaker 1: of your Razorbacks, Which big Week one matchup are you
- 9:03Speaker 1: most excited for this weekend? Notre Dame in o'house state
- 9:06Speaker 1: Oregon at Georgia or Utah at Florida. The Notre Dame
- 9:09Speaker 1: o House states interesting because both those schools have really
- 9:11Speaker 1: low numbers next to their name, right to top five
- 9:13Speaker 1: schools basically, so you look and you go, well, uh,
- 9:16Speaker 1: the Georgia game. They both are good top twenty five teams.
- 9:21Speaker 1: But the one that interests me the most is the
- 9:23Speaker 1: Florida Utah game because Florida is a traditionally really good
- 9:26Speaker 1: school from the sec. Utah not a traditionally powerful school
- 9:29Speaker 1: from the pack twelve rolls are reversed, and nobody's picking
- 9:33Speaker 1: Florida to win, although let me look at the line.
- 9:37Speaker 1: That game interests me the most because let's see what
- 9:40Speaker 1: Utah does. And also let's see if Florida weekend is
- 9:45Speaker 1: still better than a really good because I think Utah
- 9:47Speaker 1: is the number seven if I'm just going from memory
- 9:49Speaker 1: right now. But that game, let's see the line on
- 9:53Speaker 1: that game. By the way, Draft Kings sports book promo
- 9:57Speaker 1: code Bobby sports, Uh the game right now, it's only
- 10:01Speaker 1: it's Florida plus two, like they're giving Florida a lot
- 10:05Speaker 1: of respect. Utah's only two point. Yeah at two point
- 10:09Speaker 1: favorite it is in the swamp too. I'm still getta
- 10:13Speaker 1: bet on Flooria. But that's a five point game then,
- 10:15Speaker 1: because they know they get three points to the Swamps. Also,
- 10:18Speaker 1: I'm still getta bet on Flora just because I am
- 10:20Speaker 1: absolutely biased with the SEC for no other reason. So
- 10:24Speaker 1: that game interests me the most. All right, what else? Okay,
- 10:26Speaker 1: Well that kind of answers the next question. Maybe then
- 10:28Speaker 1: which underdog do you think has the best chance this weekend? Florida,
- 10:31Speaker 1: Utah since in Arkansas or Notre Dame overall House State
- 10:36Speaker 1: Man Cincinnati's got a really get shot against Arkansas because
- 10:39Speaker 1: they could be really good. I think the ceiling and
- 10:43Speaker 1: the floor are the widest in that Arkansas game. Who
- 10:47Speaker 1: knows Arkansas could go and wipe the floor. Really, we
- 10:49Speaker 1: got a great quarterback. We I think we're gonna have
- 10:52Speaker 1: a really solid receiving corps, which we had one really
- 10:56Speaker 1: good receiver last year. I think we're gonna a few.
- 10:57Speaker 1: I think it's gonna be Kansas City Chief fish. We
- 11:00Speaker 1: got a few guys that are going to get the
- 11:01Speaker 1: ball now, more more so than just one. Um. I
- 11:04Speaker 1: think that game though, because the spread is minus six
- 11:08Speaker 1: now used to be mine, used to be uh. I
- 11:11Speaker 1: was eight point favorite, Now there's six point favorite. I
- 11:14Speaker 1: think Cincinnati's got a real chance to be good and
- 11:18Speaker 1: to win that game. I think Cincinnati ends up getting
- 11:21Speaker 1: really good this season. But I think Cincinnati, probably this
- 11:25Speaker 1: Florida really have a chance to beat Utah. I think
- 11:27Speaker 1: they're getting too much respect betting because Utah is really good.
- 11:31Speaker 1: I would just I'd love to see Florida win, but
- 11:33Speaker 1: I'm gonna go cincinnatting that question. Go ahead, that's all right,
- 11:36Speaker 1: there you go. That's tittle tattle. Thank you. We are
- 11:39Speaker 1: now going to go to our interview with Michael Rappaport.
- 11:42Speaker 1: Michael Rapport comedian, actor, tons of movies, friends, Phoebe's boyfriend,
- 11:48Speaker 1: that was the cop. Now he's in only Murders in
- 11:50Speaker 1: the Building. Just finish. That's awesome. He's written a book
- 11:55Speaker 1: called This Book Has Balls Sports rants from the m
- 11:59Speaker 1: v P of Talking Rash. It's in hardcover and audio book,
- 12:02Speaker 1: and the I Am Rappaport Stereo podcast is now on
- 12:05Speaker 1: I Heart Radio. The guy is so funny. I actually
- 12:07Speaker 1: never emailed him back, and it's been like four weeks.
- 12:10Speaker 1: I thought he was kidding that. I just never trust
- 12:13Speaker 1: anybody when they're like, I want to hang out with
- 12:14Speaker 1: you and talk with you. I always think that's for
- 12:16Speaker 1: like microphone only. Oh man, they really mean it's like
- 12:19Speaker 1: what I how I talk to you guys like microphone?
- 12:23Speaker 1: But he reached out and I was like, I don't
- 12:24Speaker 1: think he really wants to be my friends. I never responded.
- 12:26Speaker 1: I think he's awesome though. It's the thing, he's awesome.
- 12:29Speaker 1: All right, here we go. This is Michael Rappaport. How
- 12:32Speaker 1: you doing, buddy. I'm doing. I'm doing pretty good. A
- 12:35Speaker 1: couple of things before we get into you know, the
- 12:38Speaker 1: podcast specifically, like awesome on Only Murders this season? Like
- 12:43Speaker 1: did not? Did? I mean? Did? I guess I didn't
- 12:46Speaker 1: know you were gonna be in the season. I'm big
- 12:47Speaker 1: fan of yours, uh professionally, and you're killing it as
- 12:51Speaker 1: the detective, So I mean that had to be a
- 12:53Speaker 1: pretty cool gig to get right, pretty exciting. Absolutely, absolutely
- 12:56Speaker 1: we could talk about that. We can talk about whatever
- 12:58Speaker 1: you want. Man, Well, then let's start. Why don't we
- 13:00Speaker 1: start with the podcast because I you know, that's what's
- 13:03Speaker 1: happening right now. It's called I Am Rapping for So
- 13:06Speaker 1: talk about that for a second, as in, like, if
- 13:09Speaker 1: I'm gonna listen to this because there are a ten
- 13:10Speaker 1: million podcasts, like what am I going to get on?
- 13:12Speaker 1: I'm wrapping for the I Am Wrappaport Stereo podcast. You
- 13:16Speaker 1: get my full disruptive takes on every single thing going
- 13:22Speaker 1: on in my life, everything going on in the world, sports, movies, politics,
- 13:27Speaker 1: what what? What sort of whatever sort of going on?
- 13:30Speaker 1: You're right podcast? So like butt holes, everybody's got one.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Um so you know, you you you you have to
- 13:38Speaker 1: uh you know, sort of separate yourself from the pack.
- 13:40Speaker 1: We've been doing it for a while now. Excited to
- 13:43Speaker 1: be on. I heart and h you know, I love
- 13:45Speaker 1: doing the Iron Rapports Stereo podcast. It's it's uncensored and
- 13:49Speaker 1: uh you know, I it's just a you know, a
- 13:52Speaker 1: free for all of whatever sort of you know pops
- 13:54Speaker 1: into my head, whatever is going on. Sometimes we have guests,
- 13:56Speaker 1: sometimes we don't, and uh, you know, I'll love doing it.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Did they move all nearly thousand episodes over? Yeah, they're
- 14:04Speaker 1: all there, They're all there. So because I watch you
- 14:06Speaker 1: on TikTok too, and again, I love it when you're
- 14:09Speaker 1: just unhinged or or normal, depending how you define you.
- 14:13Speaker 1: I think I think my my my normal is is unhinged.
- 14:17Speaker 1: Come to terms with that. Do people expect you to
- 14:19Speaker 1: be like that all the time. Let's say you're just
- 14:21Speaker 1: going to get a coffee somewhere and they're like, yo, dude,
- 14:23Speaker 1: do that thing you do where you yell and say
- 14:24Speaker 1: the F word? You know, I think some people do.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Some people do uh expect me on you know, full
- 14:30Speaker 1: tilt all the time. But you know, I look at
- 14:33Speaker 1: social media sort of performance art. It is it is.
- 14:36Speaker 1: It's not you know who I am all the time.
- 14:38Speaker 1: It's sort of a heightened sort of a heightened variation
- 14:42Speaker 1: of of of my personality and uh, you know, but yeah,
- 14:46Speaker 1: you know, people, people you know, sometimes expect me to
- 14:49Speaker 1: be you know, on full blasts all the time. But
- 14:51Speaker 1: that's fine. I have no it's you know, I have
- 14:54Speaker 1: no problem with that. Are you a big I know
- 14:56Speaker 1: you're a Knicks fan. I mean I've seen you talk
- 14:58Speaker 1: about the Necks a lot. Are you a big New
- 15:00Speaker 1: York football fan as well? Yes, I'm a big football fan.
- 15:02Speaker 1: I'm a big New York football fan. I'm a big
- 15:04Speaker 1: fantasy football player. I'm a champion, Bobby, a fantasy football
- 15:08Speaker 1: champion and a senior fantasy football analyst. I take my
- 15:11Speaker 1: fantasy football very very seriously. And you know, it's a
- 15:16Speaker 1: We're coming up on you know, draft day, and then
- 15:18Speaker 1: we you know, we roll into winning time the entire season.
- 15:21Speaker 1: I consider winning time for myself. Well, okay, so yeah,
- 15:25Speaker 1: all the drafts are coming up. Do you already have
- 15:26Speaker 1: your Let's talk about whatever league you feel like it's
- 15:29Speaker 1: the most important. So let's focus on that one for
- 15:31Speaker 1: a second. Whichever one it is. Which group of friends
- 15:34Speaker 1: is that league to you? Well, there's two leagues. There's
- 15:37Speaker 1: the the Stern Show Fantasy Football League, which I have
- 15:39Speaker 1: not one uh yet, and then there's my Money league.
- 15:43Speaker 1: They're both, um, they both mean a lot to me
- 15:46Speaker 1: for different reasons. The Stern Show League is more of
- 15:49Speaker 1: an emotional uh championship, and the Money League you know
- 15:55Speaker 1: there there is real money involved. Both are excite me
- 15:59Speaker 1: and I take very very seriously. And you know, and
- 16:02Speaker 1: I love I love fantasy football. Unfortunately, I feel like
- 16:05Speaker 1: I love fantasy football more than real football. But like
- 16:08Speaker 1: I said, you are talking to a senior fantasy football analyst. Um,
- 16:12Speaker 1: and uh, Like I said, I come to win and
- 16:15Speaker 1: and my team is the iconic Rapp Reports Delight. That's
- 16:19Speaker 1: the name MIGHT have and it's a patent. So when
- 16:21Speaker 1: you leave these messages and the stern guys play them back,
- 16:24Speaker 1: which I heard, which I hear them, and they are
- 16:26Speaker 1: they're very emotional. It's it's you're so angry, and it's
- 16:29Speaker 1: it feels like just from listening to that saga over
- 16:32Speaker 1: a couple of years that you rarely finished. I mean,
- 16:35Speaker 1: the performance hasn't been great in that league. And I
- 16:37Speaker 1: am I accurate, and I I have to correct you there, Bobby,
- 16:41Speaker 1: and and and and I have to correct you. I.
- 16:43Speaker 1: I have been to the championship. I have come in
- 16:46Speaker 1: second place. I have come in third. Listen, nobody cares
- 16:49Speaker 1: about second place. Nobody cares about third place. I have
- 16:53Speaker 1: beaten all them. I just not have won the chip.
- 16:55Speaker 1: So UM, I don't know, maybe we're looking at maybe
- 16:58Speaker 1: firing a producer who gave you that mission. I have
- 17:01Speaker 1: been hold on what it is is because your your
- 17:05Speaker 1: message is so upset all the time. I just feel
- 17:07Speaker 1: like that's somebody that finishes last. I guess that's all
- 17:09Speaker 1: I remember, as you being upset on the voice that
- 17:12Speaker 1: is that is just not accurate. That is just not accurate.
- 17:15Speaker 1: And like I said, if I were you, somebody's giving
- 17:18Speaker 1: you misinformation, I look at getting some putting somebody on
- 17:21Speaker 1: unemployment today that that's just how I would be running
- 17:24Speaker 1: the operation. I find was you over there, I have
- 17:26Speaker 1: been great. I just not had one the chip. I
- 17:29Speaker 1: have not gone over the hill. I've gotten to the
- 17:31Speaker 1: top of the hill. And then what happens is I'll
- 17:34Speaker 1: roll back down, you know, stumbling, stammering, and sometimes bruised,
- 17:39Speaker 1: beaten and tattered. But I still come back for more.
- 17:42Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I come back for more. And what I'm
- 17:45Speaker 1: planning on doing this year is finally winning, taking that
- 17:48Speaker 1: eight Bob Bob Bowie down um, plucking all of his
- 17:53Speaker 1: gorilla hair off and then pulling every single one of
- 17:57Speaker 1: his teeth out and wearing it around my neck like
- 18:00Speaker 1: Pirates necklace, like Johnny Depp would do in in In
- 18:03Speaker 1: like the Pirates of Caribbean. But it's not gonna be
- 18:05Speaker 1: Shark's teething. It's gonna be guerrilla teeth around my neck.
- 18:08Speaker 1: And when I do that, Bobby Bones, I will be
- 18:10Speaker 1: coming back to your show victorious. Thank you sir. Yes,
- 18:13Speaker 1: Now back to your point, I don't have any information
- 18:16Speaker 1: about that. I just listened to Stern and my point again,
- 18:20Speaker 1: I'll say it and we can move you. The cry,
- 18:23Speaker 1: the crying on the voicemail makes me feel like you
- 18:26Speaker 1: always finish in a sad state. Maybe that's what I
- 18:29Speaker 1: should have said. I understand that. But but also let
- 18:32Speaker 1: me tell you something. Anybody could call somebody up and
- 18:35Speaker 1: talk trash when they're winning. A true champion of trash talk,
- 18:40Speaker 1: a true champion of life is who can fight and
- 18:44Speaker 1: talk trash to a gorilla or human when they've lost.
- 18:50Speaker 1: Like I've said, I've won a few, I've lost a few,
- 18:53Speaker 1: but I keep coming back. The team's name is a
- 18:57Speaker 1: Rappaports Delight. The podcast is and Reports Stereo podcast and
- 19:02Speaker 1: and and like I said, uh, this year, I plan
- 19:04Speaker 1: on winning my money league, which is not that interesting
- 19:07Speaker 1: to the fans, And I plan on also winning the
- 19:11Speaker 1: Stern Show Fantasy Football League and plucking every single one
- 19:14Speaker 1: of those guerrilla teeth out of Boofy's mouth. Thank you.
- 19:17Speaker 1: That week, we do have that one that down for sure.
- 19:20Speaker 1: So are you a Giants fan or a Jets fan.
- 19:26Speaker 1: I'm a Giant fan. Daniel Jones thumbs up, thoms down, thumb,
- 19:32Speaker 1: I have a broken thumb. The thumb he doesn't deserve
- 19:35Speaker 1: a thumb at this point. I he could prove me wrong.
- 19:39Speaker 1: This is not a super Bowl caliber quarterback. This is
- 19:42Speaker 1: not a Champion Chip quarterback. So I am not expecting much.
- 19:49Speaker 1: I would love him to improve. I just don't feel
- 19:52Speaker 1: that good about my Giants, uh this season. I am
- 19:55Speaker 1: concerned about s Kwon Barkley and and and then just
- 19:59Speaker 1: running him into the G round. He's already had some
- 20:01Speaker 1: some injuries. Uh, And I'm I'm concerned about the Giants
- 20:04Speaker 1: across the board. The Jets to me, are gonna be
- 20:06Speaker 1: a little bit more of an exciting team, and they
- 20:09Speaker 1: have some fantasy football guys who I'm sniffing around. That's
- 20:13Speaker 1: the sound of me sniffing, uh, sniffing around and possibly
- 20:16Speaker 1: get it. Would you take say Kwan in the late
- 20:19Speaker 1: first or even the second round with all of his
- 20:21Speaker 1: injury history, even though people are really high on in
- 20:23Speaker 1: the season. I take him in the league second round,
- 20:26Speaker 1: not before that. And you wouldn't even give him a
- 20:28Speaker 1: couple of bonus spots because he's the guy on your
- 20:30Speaker 1: team and your problems more time watching your team, so
- 20:33Speaker 1: why not get him a couple of extra There are
- 20:36Speaker 1: no feelings in fantasy football, Sir, I don't care. If
- 20:39Speaker 1: my mother is available first round first pick and I
- 20:43Speaker 1: have the first round first pick, she she ain't getting picked.
- 20:46Speaker 1: She she she might, she might go on waivers. Mom, wife, children. Uh,
- 20:54Speaker 1: there ain't no feelings in fantasy football. None, zero point zero.
- 20:58Speaker 1: So if let's say the Alliance, let's say they're playing
- 21:02Speaker 1: the Cowboys, and you have the Cowboys defense, and so
- 21:06Speaker 1: you need the Cowboys to stop the Giants for your
- 21:08Speaker 1: fantasy football victory, or if the Giants pull it out
- 21:12Speaker 1: they stay in the mix to go to the playoffs,
- 21:14Speaker 1: where's your heart? The Dallas Cowboy defense. And I'm gonna
- 21:18Speaker 1: tell you something, Bobby, I think if you use this,
- 21:21Speaker 1: I'm gonna say that it's voice modulating. I'm just doing
- 21:24Speaker 1: this because because because I'm a fan and I like
- 21:27Speaker 1: talking to you. But the Dallas Cowboy defense and and
- 21:30Speaker 1: the Giants are gonna have to figure it out the
- 21:32Speaker 1: next season because I come to win. No feelings in
- 21:35Speaker 1: fantasy football sometimes you gotta make decisions and you just
- 21:39Speaker 1: gotta shut you just gotta shut yourself off to to
- 21:42Speaker 1: to all that noise, all that inner turmoil, or all
- 21:46Speaker 1: that that that that you know, that that loyalty uh
- 21:50Speaker 1: that New York this that New York that that Eli
- 21:53Speaker 1: uh Manning stuff. You know, that's all that that Lawrence
- 21:56Speaker 1: Taylor stuff. It's all got to go out the door.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Michael Apports on with us. The I Am Rappaport Stereo
- 22:02Speaker 1: podcast is now in I R Radio. It's a thousand episodes. Basically,
- 22:05Speaker 1: it's a really funny podcast, especially if you level Michael
- 22:08Speaker 1: Rapport does and I do. I think you're awesome on TikTok.
- 22:11Speaker 1: I was mentioning before we started recording that only murders
- 22:13Speaker 1: in the building, you're great. This is season two and
- 22:15Speaker 1: you come and you're a detective on the show. I
- 22:17Speaker 1: don't want to spoil anything, um, but it's a really
- 22:21Speaker 1: central character to the season. When you go on and
- 22:25Speaker 1: you're working with Steve Martin and Martin short and listen,
- 22:27Speaker 1: you've done a lot of massive projects, You've had a
- 22:29Speaker 1: lot of massive roles. Is it different when you get
- 22:31Speaker 1: to work with two guys like that or is it
- 22:33Speaker 1: just another day with some really great talent? To people,
- 22:35Speaker 1: it's it's never another day, you know, Uh, working with
- 22:39Speaker 1: people like that. I was so impressed with working with
- 22:43Speaker 1: them the first day and so sort of taken aback
- 22:45Speaker 1: by how prepared and how enthusiastic they were. Um on
- 22:51Speaker 1: the set, and you know, Steve Martin is seventy six,
- 22:54Speaker 1: Martin short is seventy two, and they come to work, work, work, work, work.
- 22:57Speaker 1: To quote the great Rihanna, Uh, uh my, my my crush.
- 23:01Speaker 1: And I know she she just had a baby. Um,
- 23:04Speaker 1: but you know, yeah, I mean I'm such a fan,
- 23:07Speaker 1: you know, and I was a fan before I started acting,
- 23:09Speaker 1: And I never let myself not have that sort of
- 23:14Speaker 1: appreciation for who I'm working with, uh, and when I'm
- 23:17Speaker 1: working with them. Um, So it was, it was. It
- 23:20Speaker 1: was cool working with them, And you know, it's cool
- 23:22Speaker 1: working with all the other people that I grew up
- 23:25Speaker 1: admiring and idolizing, you know. To be honest throughout the
- 23:29Speaker 1: years and to be able to be across from them,
- 23:31Speaker 1: I never let myself, I never take those moments were granted.
- 23:34Speaker 1: And you know, Steve Martin, you know, when you see him,
- 23:37Speaker 1: it's like, yo, it's Steve Martin. He's got the glasses,
- 23:39Speaker 1: he's got the hair, and you know, it's Steve Martin.
- 23:42Speaker 1: And you know, I've been such a fan of his
- 23:43Speaker 1: since I was a kid, and I didn't even know
- 23:45Speaker 1: what was going on on Saturday Night Live when I
- 23:48Speaker 1: was watching with the wild and Crazy guy and I
- 23:50Speaker 1: didn't even understand, you know, his sort of humor um
- 23:53Speaker 1: and to be in front of him, I never take
- 23:55Speaker 1: that for granted. A couple of things from your career
- 23:57Speaker 1: that I like to talk about if if we got
- 23:59Speaker 1: a few minutes, like a specific things, because again I've
- 24:01Speaker 1: been following, Well, are you sure you don't want to
- 24:03Speaker 1: talk about losses again? Because I feel like you said
- 24:05Speaker 1: a couple more things and then maybe you want to
- 24:06Speaker 1: talk about because I'll get back to that. It's just
- 24:10Speaker 1: your wine. It's just it's winy, and I was I always.
- 24:12Speaker 1: I feel like I associated the crying with like finishing
- 24:16Speaker 1: last every time, and like you said that a couple
- 24:19Speaker 1: of times for Anybobby, and I think everybody is clear
- 24:22Speaker 1: that that that that's that's what you said. And I
- 24:24Speaker 1: just want to say, when you said you talk about
- 24:26Speaker 1: my career, uh, you know what's funny about go ahead.
- 24:32Speaker 1: There's gonna be some fans of yours. There be like
- 24:35Speaker 1: they're gonna think that I was giving you a hard time.
- 24:38Speaker 1: They're gonna think that they're not gonna get the high
- 24:40Speaker 1: level banther that we're doing here. And and that's gonna
- 24:42Speaker 1: be sad because they're gonna be bubby, why did you
- 24:44Speaker 1: have that that a hole on your show? You see it.
- 24:47Speaker 1: I'm not cursing because I'm a trained professional. Why why
- 24:49Speaker 1: did you do that? And all the time, there's gonna
- 24:51Speaker 1: be a few people that are not really appreciate appreciating
- 24:54Speaker 1: the sort of the the sparring. This is like a
- 24:56Speaker 1: great sparring session. This is like you know, when I'll
- 24:59Speaker 1: leave would spar uh, you know, like like Larry Holmes
- 25:03Speaker 1: when Larry Holmes was coming up and Ali was sort
- 25:05Speaker 1: of you know, older, this is this this. I really
- 25:08Speaker 1: enjoyed talking to you, Bobby. But anyway, go ahead. Asked
- 25:10Speaker 1: me about some of my other fantastic achievements in my career,
- 25:13Speaker 1: as long as it doesn't have to do with losing
- 25:14Speaker 1: to gorillas. Go ahead, shoot, I'm shooting. I'm shooting. Uh.
- 25:18Speaker 1: My name is Earl that my name is Earl in
- 25:21Speaker 1: the Office. I watched it together back to back. Yeah,
- 25:24Speaker 1: do people recognize you from that show still? Because that
- 25:27Speaker 1: show is one of my favorite shows, really good show.
- 25:29Speaker 1: My name is Earl. It's a shame that it didn't.
- 25:32Speaker 1: It didn't, you know, go on. It deserved to go on.
- 25:35Speaker 1: It could have sort of, in my opinion, been one
- 25:38Speaker 1: of these syndicated shows like The Office if it had
- 25:41Speaker 1: you know, had its legs. Because The Office, you know,
- 25:43Speaker 1: when it first started, it didn't you know, it wasn't
- 25:46Speaker 1: what it is today in terms of everybody knowing and
- 25:48Speaker 1: everybody quoting it. But yeah, people recognize me from that,
- 25:51Speaker 1: and and you know, bring that up and and uh,
- 25:54Speaker 1: you know, I had a great time doing it, and
- 25:56Speaker 1: the creator of the show as a friend of mine,
- 25:58Speaker 1: and you know, it's a fun show, fun part fund show.
- 26:01Speaker 1: What about Friends? Peopuld recognize you from that most of
- 26:04Speaker 1: the time, not not mostly, but but you know, Friends
- 26:08Speaker 1: is on television, it's on planes, it's on in bars.
- 26:14Speaker 1: It's almost like our Brady Bunch. But because now it's
- 26:19Speaker 1: syndicated television and Netflix, you know, different demographics of people
- 26:24Speaker 1: will watch the show, like kids, you know, twelve thirteen
- 26:27Speaker 1: year old kids and and and know me just from that,
- 26:31Speaker 1: you know, Um, they'll be educated in the greatness of
- 26:34Speaker 1: everything else I've done. And I tell them that to
- 26:36Speaker 1: their face. I said, listen, I don't care that you're
- 26:39Speaker 1: only a sixth grader and you only know me from friends. Kids. Uh,
- 26:42Speaker 1: you need to go and learn yourself. You're a little punk,
- 26:45Speaker 1: you no, but you know, friends was awesome to be
- 26:48Speaker 1: a part of. And uh, I'm you know, listen, I've
- 26:52Speaker 1: been doing this for so long. You know, a lot
- 26:54Speaker 1: of people get frustrated being recognized and and and and
- 26:58Speaker 1: people coming up to them when they're doing this. On
- 27:00Speaker 1: the third, I'm appreciative of anybody that knows me from anything,
- 27:04Speaker 1: because I do feel blessed and so fortunate to have
- 27:07Speaker 1: such a career for such a long time. What advice
- 27:10Speaker 1: would you give the following athletes? Tom Brady? What advice
- 27:14Speaker 1: could I give Tom? I don't think he needs any
- 27:16Speaker 1: of my advice. Don't eat what I eat. Continue eating
- 27:19Speaker 1: avocados and avocado ice cream. Is going he's this year,
- 27:23Speaker 1: He's sixty three, right, Um, I expect them to win
- 27:27Speaker 1: the Super Bowl. Hey, Tom Brady is probably one of
- 27:30Speaker 1: the only people who I do not think can use
- 27:33Speaker 1: any of my advice. I'm sure some of the other
- 27:35Speaker 1: people you'll bring up a certainly need my advice. Dak Prescott,
- 27:40Speaker 1: Dak Prescott, Man, you should, you should. Whoever negotiated that
- 27:46Speaker 1: contract man, I think it was him or I mean he,
- 27:51Speaker 1: This is a guy who's getting paid up the wazoo,
- 27:54Speaker 1: and and and and and Dak Prescott, just keep keep
- 27:58Speaker 1: stay healthy and keep smiling all the way to the bank.
- 28:00Speaker 1: Because you ain't winning the Super Bowl that scot. You
- 28:03Speaker 1: are not that guy. Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Rodgers, cut the hair.
- 28:07Speaker 1: You look ridiculous. Um listen, you know, unlike to Tom Brady,
- 28:13Speaker 1: I'd say continue doing whatever you're doing. I mean you,
- 28:16Speaker 1: this guy ain't eating avocado light scream. He's eating mushrooms.
- 28:19Speaker 1: And you know, I don't know what what kind of wacky,
- 28:22Speaker 1: wonderful stuff he's eating, but he's he's another guy that's
- 28:26Speaker 1: superseded all of expectations and continues to kick ass at
- 28:31Speaker 1: a high level. And he's on that wacky Tobacci And
- 28:34Speaker 1: he came out and said it he I mean, whacky
- 28:37Speaker 1: Tobacci to him, just straight up weed. Marijuana's like nothing.
- 28:40Speaker 1: Darren Rodgers he's on that that Natural Born Killers. He's
- 28:44Speaker 1: on that that Real Kookie, and he was m v
- 28:48Speaker 1: P season on that. So he's fantastic. He's good. I've
- 28:51Speaker 1: had great championship games with him and my fantasy football team.
- 28:56Speaker 1: And and you know, whether you love Aaron Rodgers, whether
- 28:59Speaker 1: you eight Tom Brady, what do you know? Vice versa?
- 29:03Speaker 1: You know, I, via fantasy football have been able to
- 29:06Speaker 1: appreciate them a lot more and and and you know,
- 29:09Speaker 1: I try to appreciate them more now because they at
- 29:12Speaker 1: some point they're gonna stop playing only two more. Joe Burrow,
- 29:15Speaker 1: Joey Burrow, you ain't getting back to the super Bowl
- 29:18Speaker 1: anytime soon, Joey b I don't think Joey b is
- 29:21Speaker 1: is that dude. I think he's great. I think he's great.
- 29:24Speaker 1: But I think last year that was a very very
- 29:28Speaker 1: good year for Joe Burrow, all right, last one. Jared Goff, Damn,
- 29:32Speaker 1: poor Jared Goff. They got him on HBO Hard Knocks, man,
- 29:37Speaker 1: that's man. They got a tough, tough run. What did
- 29:41Speaker 1: they win one game last year? Was it one game? Three?
- 29:47Speaker 1: You know it's funny about HBO Hard Knocks is you
- 29:50Speaker 1: could watch the Detroit the Detroit Lions coming out of
- 29:53Speaker 1: a three win season, and it's so compelling. The music
- 29:56Speaker 1: is so compelling, the editing is so compelling. Their coach
- 29:59Speaker 1: is so compe hell. Liom Shriver's voiceover so cool. You
- 30:02Speaker 1: could actually walk away watching an episode of the Detroit
- 30:05Speaker 1: Lions on Hard Knocks and go I'm gonna win the
- 30:09Speaker 1: super Bowl. He's like, the show is so good for
- 30:12Speaker 1: so long, and and and like it tricks you into
- 30:15Speaker 1: thinking you're watching a good team. Like I watched the
- 30:18Speaker 1: first episode last week and I was like, fuck, yeah, man,
- 30:20Speaker 1: the Detroit priscons are gonna the Detroit Lions are gonna
- 30:23Speaker 1: win the super Bowl. Then I'm like, this is just
- 30:25Speaker 1: all editing the Liom Shriver's voiceover. Great show. I love
- 30:29Speaker 1: that show, and it's been so good for so long,
- 30:32Speaker 1: But it tricks you into thinking that this team has
- 30:34Speaker 1: a shot in hell of doing anything. All Right, Michael
- 30:36Speaker 1: is taking a drink of water. He has parched Michael
- 30:39Speaker 1: Rapp for the Iron Rapp for Stereo podcast. We will
- 30:42Speaker 1: end on this you guys. By the way, it's over
- 30:44Speaker 1: at iHeart now, so check it out. There's so many episodes.
- 30:46Speaker 1: If you think he's funny, You're gonna love all the
- 30:48Speaker 1: episodes follow him too on social That's where I get
- 30:51Speaker 1: my fixed for the most part. Uh. Well in with
- 30:53Speaker 1: this when it comes to hip hop, who is the
- 30:55Speaker 1: best rapper alive? Right now? Damn, that's a good question.
- 30:58Speaker 1: I have to say the best rap for alive is
- 31:00Speaker 1: jay Z. He's the greatest to ever do it. The
- 31:03Speaker 1: body of work, the styles, the longevity. Um, you know,
- 31:08Speaker 1: he's a battle rapper. He's a songmaker, he's a hit maker.
- 31:12Speaker 1: He's super safe. He's superseded all expectations that I'm sure
- 31:16Speaker 1: even he had for himself. And jay Z is is
- 31:18Speaker 1: it true? Epitome of one of the greatest rappers great
- 31:22Speaker 1: lines ever to do it? Uh? You never thought that
- 31:24Speaker 1: hip hop would take it this far. I mean, jay
- 31:27Speaker 1: z is he's a brandon to himself. Uh so I
- 31:30Speaker 1: have to say he if I have to pick one, Uh,
- 31:33Speaker 1: jay Z is the greatest rapper alive all right. Christian
- 31:35Speaker 1: McCaffrey top five pick? Are you too worried about and
- 31:37Speaker 1: getting hurt again? Man, that's a that's soft right Today,
- 31:41Speaker 1: I have Christian McCaffrey, I have the second pick in
- 31:44Speaker 1: my draft, and I'm picking the good Christian who always
- 31:47Speaker 1: shows up on Sundays. He is a man that loves Sundays.
- 31:52Speaker 1: I love him and and I'm as of today, I'm
- 31:55Speaker 1: picking him number two in my money league draft. And
- 31:59Speaker 1: and the good Christian, like I said, he performs on
- 32:01Speaker 1: Sundays unless he's hurt, which is most Sunday's uh not.
- 32:06Speaker 1: That's a hater. That's a hater attitude, Bobbies, that's a
- 32:08Speaker 1: that's a did you did Christian do something to you
- 32:10Speaker 1: in fantasy? Like? What? What is that? A Texas thing? Like?
- 32:13Speaker 1: What what's happening? Well, that's you can you can't win
- 32:17Speaker 1: a season in the first round. You can definitely lose it.
- 32:19Speaker 1: And if you drafted McCaffrey last year, you probably lost it.
- 32:23Speaker 1: I didn't. But but I'm feeling like maybe maybe you
- 32:28Speaker 1: reach out to are you anna? How many lead do you?
- 32:30Speaker 1: And Bobby two? Okay? Because I'm feeling like, maybe you know,
- 32:36Speaker 1: we keep in touch during the fantasy football maybe we
- 32:39Speaker 1: go head up, you know, like you know, just you know,
- 32:41Speaker 1: five bucks, ten bucks, you know, like just like a
- 32:44Speaker 1: head to head something. But we could pick we pick
- 32:47Speaker 1: each week like our own what do we do draft
- 32:49Speaker 1: to day? We'll do like you know, like a head up,
- 32:52Speaker 1: like a you know, like a week. You know, we'll
- 32:55Speaker 1: pick a week, five week, five week, two week, one
- 32:57Speaker 1: whatever week because you see real com and in cocky.
- 33:00Speaker 1: I like your tone. The glasses give you an edge
- 33:03Speaker 1: that maybe or maybe maybe you're smart maybe or not.
- 33:06Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know if those are real or
- 33:08Speaker 1: that's just an effect. But I'm saying, like, if you
- 33:11Speaker 1: want smoke, you think about it. I don't want to
- 33:13Speaker 1: pressure you on air if you weren't smoke with me.
- 33:15Speaker 1: Head up. And I'm not talking about steaks. I'm not
- 33:18Speaker 1: talking about big money. I'm talking about it could be
- 33:21Speaker 1: it could just be for for for trash talking right there,
- 33:23Speaker 1: I'll come on your show and and and and and
- 33:26Speaker 1: and walk you through and walk your fans through the
- 33:29Speaker 1: beating that I'll give you anytime again. Don't make a
- 33:32Speaker 1: decision now. I don't want any harsh decisions through you here.
- 33:34Speaker 1: It's just a it's a no win because if and
- 33:36Speaker 1: when I win, I will have to have twenty voicemails
- 33:41Speaker 1: on my phone if you're crying that you're losing, and
- 33:43Speaker 1: if I lose, I will have to hear your twenty
- 33:45Speaker 1: voicemails crying that you're winning. It's the same so boom.
- 33:50Speaker 1: But but but if you want smoke, if you want that,
- 33:53Speaker 1: if you want that bump, alright, alright, let me know,
- 33:56Speaker 1: because you sound like you're into it, like I'm into it. Listen,
- 33:59Speaker 1: I'm rabbit for our stereo podcast now on I Heart Radio,

- 34:25Speaker 1: weekly Whistles parlay. We don't have a name for you.
- 34:28Speaker 1: You're thinking, I'm like, I'm not working it out. Whistling, whistling,
- 34:33Speaker 1: dick whistling. Alright, so we're doing the Whistles. Episode twenty
- 34:42Speaker 1: four will have us all nailed down. You know that's
- 34:43Speaker 1: what's gonna happen. So let's go with the parlay of
- 34:47Speaker 1: the week and I pulled it up here, and as
- 34:51Speaker 1: I look at these games, I wanna read you some
- 34:53Speaker 1: interesting lines. Alabama is a thirty point five favorite over
- 34:56Speaker 1: Utah State. I like that game, especially early. I'm going
- 35:00Speaker 1: with Alabama giving up thirty eight point five points. That's right,
- 35:05Speaker 1: consider me clicked. All right, there's one. Let's see the
- 35:09Speaker 1: next parlay. That is a lot of points. I start
- 35:13Speaker 1: to regret it right in the middle of the bed.
- 35:15Speaker 1: I think you're good. The next one is going to
- 35:18Speaker 1: be I'm gonna go. I'm taking a favorite, Georgia giving
- 35:23Speaker 1: up seventeen points to Oregon. And again, both teams should
- 35:27Speaker 1: be pretty good this season. But I'm taking Georgia and
- 35:31Speaker 1: I'm giving up the points, and then I'm gonna go Arkansas.
- 35:36Speaker 1: Money line. Oh that was actually less RISKI than But
- 35:42Speaker 1: I appreciate that. I like that. I like the fact
- 35:45Speaker 1: you've fired up for me. What's that? What's that? Line? Six?
- 35:50Speaker 1: So if I bet fifty bucks on those three games,
- 35:54Speaker 1: I will make two forty seven dollars according to the spreads.
- 35:57Speaker 1: As we recorded this podcast, I mean, boom, there it is.
- 36:00Speaker 1: You guys wanna make money, We'll get a job. If
- 36:03Speaker 1: you want to beg and pray like I do. Here
- 36:07Speaker 1: are your bets? All right? Let make sure I got it.
- 36:10Speaker 1: Here my bets three picked parlay Alabama giving up thirte
- 36:14Speaker 1: and a half, Georgia giving up seventeen in the Arkansas
- 36:17Speaker 1: money line. There you go, count your count your money. Uh.

- 37:12Speaker 1: Stats theme song, Adam, Adam half all your steps for
- 37:17Speaker 1: you Adams. All right, what do you got, Buffalo Bills fans.
- 37:22Speaker 1: That's gonna bump you out a little bit. We have.
- 37:25Speaker 1: There's only been six teams ever who have been odds
- 37:27Speaker 1: on preseason favorites to go on to win the Super Bowl.
- 37:31Speaker 1: Happen two thousand eighteen, New England, two thousand sixteen New England.
- 37:35Speaker 1: Before that, it was all the way back in oh six,
- 37:37Speaker 1: and then before that was so long ago. It doesn't
- 37:39Speaker 1: even matters. Rocks, rocks and sticks. So good luck to you,
- 37:47Speaker 1: Buffalo Bills. Um, it's gonna be a Steve Hill decline.
- 37:49Speaker 1: I would always I think it's great. You build your
- 37:53Speaker 1: team so that people give you uncomfortable expectations. I love it.
- 37:57Speaker 1: I'm expected to win when I do radio. I'm expect
- 38:00Speaker 1: to to sell tickets when I do a live show.
- 38:02Speaker 1: I'm expected to when I do a TV show, to
- 38:04Speaker 1: get ratings you know why, because the things that I
- 38:05Speaker 1: have done have led to the point where people go,
- 38:08Speaker 1: we have to put the sex utation on you because
- 38:10Speaker 1: you've proved you can do it. And I think with Buffalo,
- 38:12Speaker 1: sure interesting stat most teams don't. But honestly, you're gonna
- 38:17Speaker 1: win to born Good anyway. But every time, if you're
- 38:19Speaker 1: gonna tell me I'm the favorite to win, I must
- 38:21Speaker 1: say great. That means I must have something going on
- 38:23Speaker 1: that makes me, at least preseason look better than everybody else.
- 38:28Speaker 1: So if I'm a Buffalo fan, I'm gonna jump through
- 38:30Speaker 1: like tin tables this year. I'm yeah, put them? How
- 38:33Speaker 1: many go through? I'm hell in the cell coming off
- 38:36Speaker 1: the top of that thing. You just smack in the tables?
- 38:39Speaker 1: Which one's Buffalo fans are arresting them? Yeah, they're I
- 38:43Speaker 1: like one that lights table on fire, then jump into
- 38:45Speaker 1: it and then they jump up on fire. Confused how
- 38:49Speaker 1: this happened because you jumped into the fiery table. Uh.
- 38:53Speaker 1: That is your atom stats, And let's play the atom
- 38:55Speaker 1: stats outside as at he's got those. Let's go over
- 39:06Speaker 1: and go to an interview with Brandon Marcelo. This guy's awesome.
- 39:09Speaker 1: He is a national college football reporter at seven Sports. Listen,
- 39:13Speaker 1: he's been named like Journalist of the Year for all
- 39:16Speaker 1: the country whatever the king, dingling or writing is the
- 39:20Speaker 1: award I gave him. Yeah. Before joining seven Sports, he
- 39:24Speaker 1: was an sec country the Alabama Media Group. You can
- 39:26Speaker 1: follow him be Marcello on Twitter. To check out his work,
- 39:29Speaker 1: go to seven sports dot com. All right, here it
- 39:32Speaker 1: is with Brandon Marcello. Hey, Brandon, how are you, buddy?
- 39:35Speaker 1: Doing good? How are you hey? Real good? So I
- 39:37Speaker 1: wanted to run through some games here because you're the guy, which,
- 39:39Speaker 1: by the way, let me real accolade here that if
- 39:42Speaker 1: people didn't respect you already when I read this one
- 39:43Speaker 1: single accolade, they're gonna be like, all right, I should
- 39:45Speaker 1: listen up and listen closely. Brandon was named National Beat
- 39:48Speaker 1: Writer of the Year by the Associated Press in eighteen.
- 39:51Speaker 1: What's that trophy? Look like? It's a plaque? It's I'm
- 39:54Speaker 1: looking at now across the room and that it's just
- 39:56Speaker 1: a small little plaque that just his first place on it. Yeah,
- 40:01Speaker 1: it would be like a chain, like, what's the guy
- 40:02Speaker 1: with the clock? What's his name? Flavor Flavor? Yeah, man,
- 40:06Speaker 1: I would be flavor Flavor with that thing. Everywhere I went,
- 40:08Speaker 1: it would say number one writer in all of sports.
- 40:12Speaker 1: I just chug a little bit too. I I put
- 40:14Speaker 1: at the top of my resume so that maybe one
- 40:16Speaker 1: day I get a race for it. Guys, Uh, listen,
- 40:18Speaker 1: I'm super pumped your on. I think you're awesome, especially
- 40:21Speaker 1: when you go on this podcast I listened to. So
- 40:22Speaker 1: thank you for the time today. Absolutely by the way,
- 40:27Speaker 1: So let's do it. Thank you. So I want to
- 40:29Speaker 1: go through the Big five games this week. We had
- 40:30Speaker 1: a few games last week, but this is like week one.
- 40:33Speaker 1: That's week zero or whatever that means, but this is
- 40:35Speaker 1: week one in college football. So I just want to
- 40:37Speaker 1: walk through the big five games and hear what you
- 40:40Speaker 1: have to say about the teams and who you think
- 40:41Speaker 1: is gonna win the game. And I'll start with the
- 40:44Speaker 1: big one, which is Notre Dame at Ohio State, both
- 40:47Speaker 1: our top five teams. How do you see this game
- 40:49Speaker 1: shaking out? Well? I think Ohio State is probably the
- 40:52Speaker 1: most loaded team offensively in the country, at least early
- 40:56Speaker 1: on this season. They got the best receiver corps, they've
- 40:58Speaker 1: got the best quarterback and see j Stroud, I believe,
- 41:01Speaker 1: but Notre Dame is not going to be a slouch
- 41:04Speaker 1: this season. I know a lot of people kind of
- 41:06Speaker 1: writing off Notre Dame to a certain extent of thinking
- 41:08Speaker 1: maybe they're not even a top ten program, even though
- 41:11Speaker 1: they look at on paper this season with new coach
- 41:14Speaker 1: Marcus Freeman. To me, this spread, I look at it's
- 41:17Speaker 1: just crazy. I think Ohio State's gonna win it, But
- 41:20Speaker 1: it's insane to me that Notre Dame is considered to
- 41:24Speaker 1: be a heavy underdog by fifteen or more points. It's
- 41:28Speaker 1: kind of nuts. So I like Ohio State wins it,
- 41:31Speaker 1: but I think it's going to be closer and potentially
- 41:33Speaker 1: maybe even single digits, just because I've got a lot
- 41:36Speaker 1: more confidence in Notre Dame's defense and maybe some other
- 41:39Speaker 1: people do. And we're recording this a few days out
- 41:41Speaker 1: from right before the game and right now though, and
- 41:44Speaker 1: it will probably shift. It's at Ohio State a fifteen
- 41:47Speaker 1: and a half point favorite. I'm with you, if they're
- 41:49Speaker 1: a top five team, how are they that much of
- 41:52Speaker 1: an underdog? Are they not a top five team? Or
- 41:54Speaker 1: as Ohio State just that good? I think they're we
- 41:58Speaker 1: were tending here in the preseason we're putting a Ohio
- 42:00Speaker 1: State in that Alabama bubble where even Alabama when they
- 42:03Speaker 1: face the top five team, we're favoring them by double
- 42:05Speaker 1: digits in some games. I think there's a lot of
- 42:08Speaker 1: of that type of aura around Ohio State this season.
- 42:12Speaker 1: A lot of people think they're gonna be beating a
- 42:14Speaker 1: lot of teams by double digits this year. I don't
- 42:17Speaker 1: think this is going to be one of those, because again,
- 42:20Speaker 1: I think Notre Dame's defense is much better than people
- 42:23Speaker 1: are giving it credit for Ohio State to win Notre
- 42:26Speaker 1: Dame to cover. All right, let's go to Arkansas and Cincinnati,
- 42:30Speaker 1: which they're only I think three games were both teams
- 42:34Speaker 1: in the top twenty five. This one is a personal
- 42:35Speaker 1: went to me and heck to you as well. Uh.
- 42:37Speaker 1: Cincinnati comes in, you know, being really good the last
- 42:42Speaker 1: couple of years, especially last year, but they've lost a lot.
- 42:45Speaker 1: They're still ranked the top twenty five. Talk about this game.
- 42:48Speaker 1: You know, it's crazy to me. Cincinnati's a program going
- 42:51Speaker 1: to this year. They returned like actually a lot of starters,
- 42:53Speaker 1: but they lose a lot of their production at the
- 42:56Speaker 1: key spots. Obviously Desmond Ritter is gone at quarterback. They
- 42:59Speaker 1: lose a lot of pieces on defense, so they go
- 43:03Speaker 1: into this game not wanting to announce really who their
- 43:06Speaker 1: starting quarterback is going to be. They're still trying to
- 43:08Speaker 1: figure out and plug some things up. Arkansas returns a
- 43:12Speaker 1: lot of pieces, but you actually look at it on paper,
- 43:16Speaker 1: I think they were in turned between ten to twelve starters,
- 43:18Speaker 1: which isn't actually all that much compared to their SEC brethren,
- 43:22Speaker 1: but they returned some really big production pieces, including kJ
- 43:25Speaker 1: Jefferson a quarterback. I think Arkansas ends up winning this.
- 43:29Speaker 1: This is the type of game that if it was
- 43:30Speaker 1: on a neutral field, the Razorbacks would probably be favored
- 43:33Speaker 1: by like three points, maybe maybe even less. And this
- 43:37Speaker 1: is a game I think that a lot of people thought, uh,
- 43:40Speaker 1: maybe even when it opened up, that Cincinnati be a
- 43:42Speaker 1: little bit closer. But because it's that Arkansas is gonna
- 43:45Speaker 1: be a huge crowd's gonna be nuts there. It's early
- 43:47Speaker 1: in the season, Cincinnati still trying to figure out his
- 43:49Speaker 1: quarterback spot. I think that's why the line is what
- 43:53Speaker 1: it is right now. It's about seven about touchdown favorite
- 43:56Speaker 1: for for Arkansas. Having said that, Sincinnati still has a
- 44:00Speaker 1: lot of experience, even if it's not necessarily that star
- 44:03Speaker 1: power that we're talking about. So I think this one's
- 44:07Speaker 1: gonna be close. I think Arkansas still has to figure
- 44:10Speaker 1: out get some like, uh some energy going with the
- 44:14Speaker 1: receivers with trailing Burke's now gone. But I think the
- 44:18Speaker 1: Razorbacks win this game, and what was should be a
- 44:21Speaker 1: really fun kind of back and forth affair that I
- 44:24Speaker 1: think the Razorbacks would win even if it's on a
- 44:26Speaker 1: neutral site. But again, I don't know if it's a
- 44:29Speaker 1: game that the Razorbacks win by seven or more, I
- 44:32Speaker 1: think this might end up being game that's decided by
- 44:35Speaker 1: the last couple of possessions in the fourth quarter. Hey
- 44:37Speaker 1: here that I'll be honestly, Hey, I wanted to be
- 44:39Speaker 1: like it to be a thirty five point blowout. And
- 44:42Speaker 1: I know you gotta be, you know, impartial. You're from Arkansas,
- 44:45Speaker 1: you went to University of Arkansas, and you know you've
- 44:48Speaker 1: written for all these organizations you moved around. But still,
- 44:51Speaker 1: I know you have to not be so pro Arkansas.
- 44:54Speaker 1: But I was ready for like a seventeen point like Arkansas.
- 44:57Speaker 1: But if they don't have a quarterback, let me ask
- 44:58Speaker 1: you this. I'm being a home a little bit. But
- 45:00Speaker 1: Cincinnati doesn't have a quarterback that they've named as a starter.
- 45:02Speaker 1: Doesn't that mean that they don't have a quarterback that
- 45:04Speaker 1: they look at as their head and shoulders starter, like
- 45:07Speaker 1: for the whole season. Based off what I'm hearing, they
- 45:09Speaker 1: k know who their quarterback is. They but they're keeping
- 45:12Speaker 1: a lid on it. So they have confidence in their guy.
- 45:15Speaker 1: It's just that they're they're keeping a lid on it. Well,
- 45:18Speaker 1: we'll see. I think again, if if the Razorbacks had
- 45:23Speaker 1: a primary weapon at receiver that they had some experience with,
- 45:27Speaker 1: I think the Hogs end up winning this game by
- 45:29Speaker 1: seven or more. But that's kind of holding me back again.
- 45:33Speaker 1: The Razorbacks, I'm with you. Sam Pittman's the man. He's
- 45:36Speaker 1: got maybe one of the best assistant assistant coaching staffs
- 45:39Speaker 1: in the country, especially at O C and d C.
- 45:42Speaker 1: That can't be underrated at all. And uh, but early
- 45:45Speaker 1: season gonna be some struggles on both sides, and Cincinnati
- 45:50Speaker 1: returns actually a lot of pieces even if they don't
- 45:52Speaker 1: have that star power. Do you think Cincinnati when they
- 45:56Speaker 1: start playing because they're gonna switch conferences obviously, do think
- 46:00Speaker 1: that they have got to upgrade their talent or do
- 46:01Speaker 1: you think they're already kind of set to make a
- 46:04Speaker 1: splash at a Power five conference. You know, they need
- 46:07Speaker 1: to upgrade it in the trenches. Look at Alabama what
- 46:10Speaker 1: they did to Cincinnati last season in the playoff. Alabama
- 46:13Speaker 1: just said we're going to try and run the ball
- 46:15Speaker 1: and then just demolish you in the trenches. And Cincinnati
- 46:17Speaker 1: actually did a pretty good job trying to keep that
- 46:19Speaker 1: at bay at times, but it was it wasn't enough.
- 46:22Speaker 1: They weren't able to do it long enough. And I
- 46:24Speaker 1: think a lot of these teams are switching over you cf. Cincinnati, Houston.
- 46:28Speaker 1: They've got to upgrade their their rosters in the trenches.
- 46:31Speaker 1: And for that matter, I know a team we're gonna
- 46:33Speaker 1: be talking about here later, Oh you owe you in Texas.
- 46:36Speaker 1: They're already starting to try and do that as they
- 46:38Speaker 1: get ready to go to the SEC Utah and Florida,
- 46:40Speaker 1: which is an interesting game to me because again, if
- 46:43Speaker 1: you were just to see these two schools and just
- 46:46Speaker 1: go all right, toss him up there, you would expect
- 46:48Speaker 1: the big SEC school to be the favorite. In Utah
- 46:50Speaker 1: has kind of only you know, been relevant the last
- 46:53Speaker 1: few years that they've been really relevant. I mean, they
- 46:54Speaker 1: played really well in the Rose Bowl. Uh, at least
- 46:57Speaker 1: for me to watch them and go, dang, those guys
- 46:59Speaker 1: like they had some grid about them and they're in
- 47:00Speaker 1: the top ten when the season starts this year. So
- 47:02Speaker 1: is Utah for real or are they for real for
- 47:05Speaker 1: the conference they're in? And how's Florida gonna gonna fare
- 47:08Speaker 1: this season? And then they're gonna match up Week one.
- 47:11Speaker 1: I think to me, Utah is for real and Utah
- 47:14Speaker 1: is a legitimate playoff contender. I think that they will
- 47:17Speaker 1: break the Pac twelves like five six year drought here
- 47:20Speaker 1: and reached the College Football Playoff this season. What I
- 47:24Speaker 1: saw late last season from Utah was a team that
- 47:27Speaker 1: is built in the trenches, which is not what a
- 47:29Speaker 1: lot of teams in the Pac twelve tend to build around.
- 47:32Speaker 1: And they pushed people around. I mean, they blew out
- 47:34Speaker 1: Oregon twice last season, including in the Pac twelve Championship,
- 47:37Speaker 1: because they were so dominant in the trenches. So they
- 47:41Speaker 1: go to Florida, They're gonna match up very well with
- 47:43Speaker 1: Florida in the trenches. In fact that we will have
- 47:45Speaker 1: the advantage there. The difference here for Utah. It's a huge,
- 47:50Speaker 1: huge road game. It's gonna be difficult, but Utah much
- 47:53Speaker 1: more physical, as I said, and I think right now
- 47:57Speaker 1: obviously have the more experienced quarterback and cameras, but also
- 48:00Speaker 1: one that they'll be able to get them out of trouble.
- 48:02Speaker 1: I think Utah not only wins this game, but actually
- 48:05Speaker 1: covers the two and a half point spread as we
- 48:07Speaker 1: speak here today. I think Florida they do have some
- 48:11Speaker 1: talent Anthony Richardson the quarterback there. A lot of people
- 48:15Speaker 1: are talking about him maybe emerging as a dark horse
- 48:18Speaker 1: Heisman guy, but the problem is we haven't seen him
- 48:21Speaker 1: play more than a half of football in his career
- 48:23Speaker 1: so far. How does he fit into Billy Napier's offensive
- 48:26Speaker 1: system there in his first season as head coach. And
- 48:29Speaker 1: then also Florida is very thin at a lot of
- 48:32Speaker 1: spots and they've got to thick figure that out in recruiting.
- 48:36Speaker 1: So they're about two years away from us talking about
- 48:38Speaker 1: Florida maybe being a top two team in the SEC East,
- 48:41Speaker 1: And for right now, that's not gonna be enough. Even
- 48:43Speaker 1: in the swamp where you I think you give team,
- 48:46Speaker 1: you get Florida about eight point cushion, not just a
- 48:49Speaker 1: three point cushier, but like an a point cushion in
- 48:51Speaker 1: the swamp and to me, Utah when you go on
- 48:55Speaker 1: a neutral field is probably about double digit favorite against
- 48:58Speaker 1: the Gators. But on the road, O, this one could
- 49:01Speaker 1: be tight. But I think Utak covers the two and
- 49:03Speaker 1: a half maybe three points spread and wins. Of course,
- 49:06Speaker 1: my dumb money will be on Florida money line and
- 49:08Speaker 1: I will lose that money. I just can't. I can't.
- 49:10Speaker 1: I can't when I see those two teams. I go
- 49:13Speaker 1: to like college football two thousand nine on PlayStation, and
- 49:17Speaker 1: I got about Florida. But you're I'm sure you're right
- 49:20Speaker 1: next up the big one, I think, even bigger than
- 49:23Speaker 1: Notre Dame in Ohio state. But again, it's a crazy spread.
- 49:26Speaker 1: It's the Oregon Georgia game where you got two teams Georgia,
- 49:30Speaker 1: Oregon's coming to eleven, George's at number three, two teams
- 49:33Speaker 1: that should match up pretty well, but it's it's a
- 49:35Speaker 1: seventeen and a half point spread. As we're talking today,
- 49:37Speaker 1: that that is a bit bit insane to me. I
- 49:40Speaker 1: saw that and I was like, whoa are are we sure?
- 49:42Speaker 1: And I was double and triple checking, and the spread
- 49:44Speaker 1: seems to actually be growing. And this game has so
- 49:47Speaker 1: much intrigue because Dan Landing now the head coach at
- 49:50Speaker 1: Oregon was the defensive coordinator Georgia last season and getting
- 49:53Speaker 1: into a college football playoff national championship, a generational defense
- 49:57Speaker 1: at Georgia, so he knows the ins and ounce, he
- 50:00Speaker 1: knows where the skeletons are buried there at Georgia. But
- 50:03Speaker 1: Georgia so much more talented, so much deeper. Oregon lost
- 50:07Speaker 1: some great pieces from last season, especially on defense. They're
- 50:12Speaker 1: replacing potentially their quarterback with bow Knicks, who a lot
- 50:16Speaker 1: of the folks might remember was the Auburn starting quarterback
- 50:19Speaker 1: who was good at times, but it's pretty average most
- 50:23Speaker 1: of the time. Georgia just so much deeper across the board,
- 50:27Speaker 1: but a lot better than the trenches. Again, you know,
- 50:31Speaker 1: I was talking about Oregon Utah last season. Utah pushed
- 50:34Speaker 1: Oregon around. Georgia is going to do the absolute same
- 50:39Speaker 1: to Oregon, if not worse to them. And here's the
- 50:41Speaker 1: other thing. Neutral sight game. But it's in Atlanta, Georgia
- 50:46Speaker 1: fans are gonna are gonna storm that place. I think
- 50:50Speaker 1: Georgia wins, but Oregon covers that massive seventeen a half
- 50:55Speaker 1: point uh spread, But still I think Georgia wins. Going
- 50:58Speaker 1: away probably by two touchdowns. I like Nick's at Oregon,
- 51:02Speaker 1: I think for his style of ball, in the style
- 51:04Speaker 1: of ball they play. And you mentioned Nicks at Auburn,
- 51:06Speaker 1: you know, average occasionally they flash. That's Auburn as a team, right,
- 51:09Speaker 1: I mean, Auburn pretty average, but occasionally they'd flash and
- 51:12Speaker 1: you'd be like, dang, like it is Auburn and Harson
- 51:15Speaker 1: they canna do something here, and they never really did.
- 51:18Speaker 1: But I think I like Nick's at Oregon because of
- 51:21Speaker 1: what they do and what he does. How do you
- 51:23Speaker 1: feel about that situation there? If but listen, I covered
- 51:27Speaker 1: Auburn for a couple of years in Nick's first season,
- 51:29Speaker 1: and he hasn't quite gotten over the ability to truckt
- 51:33Speaker 1: not be able to trust his offensive line, and that
- 51:36Speaker 1: was pretty much because Auburn's offensive line wasn't very good.
- 51:40Speaker 1: So it got him into this headspace where he was
- 51:42Speaker 1: escaping pressure that wasn't there. He would take off running
- 51:45Speaker 1: or roll out when he didn't need to, and he
- 51:48Speaker 1: was still doing that up until this past season at Auburn,
- 51:51Speaker 1: and I got him into some trouble. I mean, if
- 51:53Speaker 1: you can remember, there was that highlight against l s
- 51:55Speaker 1: U he where He's scrambling for like twelve seconds before
- 51:58Speaker 1: he throws a pass down the field. There, I was like, Wow,
- 52:00Speaker 1: the magic of bow Knicks. And it's like, did he
- 52:03Speaker 1: have to escape the pocket as quickly as he did?
- 52:05Speaker 1: Was that really needed? Um, we'll see if he trusts
- 52:08Speaker 1: his offensive line at Oregon. And here's the other thing,
- 52:12Speaker 1: bow Knicks. His numbers against Georgia in the past terrible.
- 52:17Speaker 1: I think they're in his head as well. But you know,
- 52:19Speaker 1: we'll see. I I you know, I think Nicks will
- 52:22Speaker 1: end up being the guy there. But I'm actually hire
- 52:25Speaker 1: for the future at quarterback at Oregon with with Anthony
- 52:27Speaker 1: Brown who they brought in, and Mario crystal Ball when
- 52:30Speaker 1: he recruited him, said he might have been the best
- 52:32Speaker 1: quarterback in the country in the recruiting class a couple
- 52:34Speaker 1: of years ago. So it's interesting to me that they
- 52:37Speaker 1: went after bo Nix and the transfer portal. You know,
- 52:39Speaker 1: I do that. I'm mad and where I just running
- 52:40Speaker 1: and scramble for no reason, just like snap the ball,
- 52:42Speaker 1: and I'm like, I might always start running to the
- 52:44Speaker 1: side because I don't know what I'm doing here. I
- 52:46Speaker 1: miss the old techmo Bold days where you just do
- 52:48Speaker 1: like a fifty step drop, just step drop and then
- 52:51Speaker 1: just throw it down the field and someone would catch it.
- 52:53Speaker 1: And on defense all was called the other person's play
- 52:55Speaker 1: and they swarmed him and there was no chance unless
- 52:56Speaker 1: a Christian Aquoia, which kids now, they don't even respect
- 52:58Speaker 1: Christian Aquoia anymore. Now I'm Alrea. I'm fighting the Clouds
- 53:03Speaker 1: final game. And it's not because I think it's gonna
- 53:05Speaker 1: be a good game. And as of right now, again
- 53:07Speaker 1: we're recording this a few days before, there is no spread.
- 53:09Speaker 1: But I want to talk about Clemson at Georgia Tech
- 53:12Speaker 1: just because I want to talk about Clemson for a second.
- 53:14Speaker 1: I think there is a bit of a false narrative
- 53:16Speaker 1: of Clemson that they sucked last year. They just sucked
- 53:18Speaker 1: early and they kind of caught themselves and then they
- 53:21Speaker 1: were pretty good. A disappointing season if you're a Clemson
- 53:25Speaker 1: fan and what we expect from Clemson and what Dabo
- 53:27Speaker 1: Sweeney does there, But Clemson didn't suck last year. How
- 53:30Speaker 1: do you feel Clemson's number four going into the season,
- 53:32Speaker 1: how do you feel about Clemson as a team, and
- 53:34Speaker 1: then just talk about this game for a second. Yeah,
- 53:37Speaker 1: it's insane to me. Like Clemson won ten games still
- 53:39Speaker 1: last year. Um, you know, if they didn't lose that
- 53:42Speaker 1: one game against n C stay in overtime on the road.
- 53:45Speaker 1: I think we're actually talking a little bit differently about
- 53:48Speaker 1: Clemson because early in the year it just kind of
- 53:51Speaker 1: washed everybody away and we started just putting them in
- 53:55Speaker 1: the back seat. You know. D j u ee Angelo
- 53:57Speaker 1: lay the quarterback there. His is you is is that
- 54:00Speaker 1: he seems to like throw a knuckleball for every pass
- 54:04Speaker 1: he misses when they go downfield quite a bit. And
- 54:07Speaker 1: we're just not a custom seeing that from Clemson quarterback
- 54:09Speaker 1: after all these years. He's got to fix that. He
- 54:13Speaker 1: lost twenty five pounds in the off season, and I
- 54:15Speaker 1: saw him a few weeks ago at a CC media
- 54:18Speaker 1: days and he is noticeably slimmer and noticeably much lighter
- 54:23Speaker 1: on his fees court his teammates when I've talked to them.
- 54:26Speaker 1: But does that help his arm accuracy? That was the
- 54:29Speaker 1: issue to me for him last season. He says he's
- 54:31Speaker 1: more confident, But Clemson, I think no matter what Dabo
- 54:35Speaker 1: Sweeney says, and that hey, he has all the confidence
- 54:37Speaker 1: in d j u y Angola. He knows what type
- 54:39Speaker 1: of player he is He's not gonna listen anybody on
- 54:41Speaker 1: message boards, as he says, he's this guy. But if
- 54:44Speaker 1: he struggles the first few weeks of the season, I
- 54:46Speaker 1: think they will turn to their freshman quarterback Kay club Nick,
- 54:49Speaker 1: who was a five star guy and is obviously the
- 54:52Speaker 1: future there, whether it's this year or here in two
- 54:54Speaker 1: or three years. Outside of that, you know, this is
- 54:57Speaker 1: a game that they should win doing away against Georgia Tech.
- 55:00Speaker 1: But does that offense, especially in the passing game, look
- 55:03Speaker 1: any better now. I had some insiders there at Clemson
- 55:06Speaker 1: tell me that because the way DJ performed early in
- 55:09Speaker 1: the season, which I don't think was very fair to
- 55:12Speaker 1: judge him by. Because they faced Georgia again, a generational defense,
- 55:16Speaker 1: and that game was tight all the way un till
- 55:18Speaker 1: the end. Neither team did anything really offensively worth a darn.
- 55:22Speaker 1: It was just a rock fight. I was there watching that,
- 55:25Speaker 1: and I was just like man at the time, I
- 55:26Speaker 1: was thinking, Wow, these are two the best defenses I've
- 55:29Speaker 1: ever seen. But it turns out that there were some
- 55:31Speaker 1: other issues as well, especially with Clemson's offensive line. Having
- 55:35Speaker 1: said that, DJ, I think it is a good quarterback.
- 55:39Speaker 1: I don't think he's a great quarterback. So Clemson might
- 55:44Speaker 1: face a quarterback question there after a few weeks. But
- 55:47Speaker 1: this will not start off a season like it did
- 55:50Speaker 1: last year, where it was an immediate loss and everybody's
- 55:53Speaker 1: just freaking out and riding off Clemson. Clemson should win
- 55:56Speaker 1: the a c C once again this year and get
- 55:59Speaker 1: back there. It's just that I'm not so certain that
- 56:02Speaker 1: it's gonna be d j uy Angelo Lay at quarterback
- 56:05Speaker 1: by the end of the year. Yeah, my dumb money
- 56:06Speaker 1: was up a little bit on him to in the Heisman.
- 56:08Speaker 1: I talk, I'm talking to Brandon. I'm like, I'm an
- 56:10Speaker 1: idiot again, just because his odds were terrible and I thought,
- 56:13Speaker 1: you know, I think he could surprise some folks because
- 56:16Speaker 1: his odds are so bad that if I want to
- 56:18Speaker 1: put twenty bucks on it and make four hundred, like,
- 56:20Speaker 1: that's where I'm sitting in it. You know. He was
- 56:22Speaker 1: my preseason pick. He was the guy I was putting
- 56:25Speaker 1: money on, so to speak, even though I don't bet.
- 56:27Speaker 1: Let me just say that ethically, it's a journalist. I
- 56:29Speaker 1: do not bet. But he says it again, ethically, he
- 56:31Speaker 1: does not bet. That's right, yes, yes, ahead, But but
- 56:35Speaker 1: he was my guy. I really liked him or liked
- 56:37Speaker 1: what everybody's telling me about him. And then the other
- 56:39Speaker 1: thing I wanted to mention this Tony Elliott, who was
- 56:41Speaker 1: the o C there now is the head coach of Virginia.
- 56:43Speaker 1: I was told that they weren't quite running exactly what
- 56:46Speaker 1: they were wanting to run last season, and I think
- 56:48Speaker 1: Tony Elliott kind of pulled the reins back a little
- 56:51Speaker 1: bit quicker than he maybe should have, and uh, Dabbo
- 56:54Speaker 1: Sweeney kind of I wanna say, he seems upset about that,
- 56:56Speaker 1: but he's mentioned several times this offseason they weren't running
- 57:00Speaker 1: the type of tempo that he wants and what they're
- 57:02Speaker 1: accustomed to. So I think that changes this year. At
- 57:05Speaker 1: the UOC, I just doubled up my bet this year.
- 57:07Speaker 1: He's just talking back into it. Let's talk about the
- 57:09Speaker 1: Heisman for a second. Since I mentioned that, give me
- 57:12Speaker 1: your top five started number one. We're right now, You're like,
- 57:14Speaker 1: this is the favorite, and let's walk down. C. J. Stroud,
- 57:17Speaker 1: quarterback at Ohio State. He's gonna put up monster numbers
- 57:20Speaker 1: this year. He's got the best receiver corps in the
- 57:22Speaker 1: country right now on paper, um, and that schedule sets
- 57:25Speaker 1: up so well for him to be able to put
- 57:27Speaker 1: up any type of you know, video game number he wants. Um,
- 57:32Speaker 1: do you think I mean to interrupt you there? Because
- 57:34Speaker 1: you know Bryce Young wins at last year. Do you
- 57:36Speaker 1: think the fact that they have so many great players
- 57:39Speaker 1: that could win at Alama does that take Bryce out
- 57:41Speaker 1: of the number one spot? Yeah? I think so. And
- 57:43Speaker 1: also because I hate to say this, but recentcy bias is, uh,
- 57:47Speaker 1: he just wanted, so we're not gonna give it to
- 57:49Speaker 1: him again. Um unless he just absolutely puts up like
- 57:53Speaker 1: breaking Joe Burrow type numbers. Why he didn't win National
- 57:57Speaker 1: beat right over the year because they already knew you
- 57:58Speaker 1: wanted and they were like, we can't give it and
- 58:00Speaker 1: it again even though he's the best. That's what I
- 58:01Speaker 1: think would happened. That's exactly and I've written so many,
- 58:06Speaker 1: uh petitions against it. Here here's the thing. Yeah, I've
- 58:11Speaker 1: got Bryce Young at two. I've actually got three Alabama
- 58:14Speaker 1: players in my top five. All right, three, they're loaded.
- 58:18Speaker 1: Jamar Gibbs running back, transferred from Georgia Tech. Georgia Tech
- 58:22Speaker 1: very upset that he left and went to Alabama, and
- 58:25Speaker 1: that's because they knew what they had in him. And
- 58:27Speaker 1: they know what he could be at Alabama behind that
- 58:29Speaker 1: offensive line. I think Alabama's gonna run the ball a
- 58:32Speaker 1: little bit more, especially between the tackles, because Jamar Gibbs
- 58:35Speaker 1: gives them that. I think he's gonna put up some
- 58:37Speaker 1: really big numbers in some big games this season. And
- 58:40Speaker 1: I think I wrestled with the idea of putting Gibbs
- 58:44Speaker 1: ahead of Bryce Young on this list. So if that's
- 58:47Speaker 1: two Bama players, well, I would imagine Will Anderson has
- 58:50Speaker 1: gotta be in there too. Yeah. And the thing is,
- 58:53Speaker 1: Will Anderson is the best player on that team, and
- 58:56Speaker 1: I think the best player in the country regardless of position.
- 59:00Speaker 1: But it's the Heisman. We do not vote for defensive
- 59:03Speaker 1: players for whatever reason, I don't have a vote, Otherwise
- 59:06Speaker 1: he would have been on my ballot last year. Will
- 59:08Speaker 1: Anderson is the best player in college football going into
- 59:11Speaker 1: this season. He's gonna put up great numbers, and even
- 59:13Speaker 1: he doesn't put up astronomical numbers to be in that
- 59:17Speaker 1: Heisman conversation. If you watch him on every play, he's
- 59:20Speaker 1: going to change practically every snap. Teams are going to
- 59:23Speaker 1: scheme around him, they're gonna run away from him, they're
- 59:26Speaker 1: gonna throw away from him. Will Anderson is the best
- 59:29Speaker 1: player in college football and Dallas Turner, the emergence of
- 59:32Speaker 1: him at outside linebacker late last season is really what
- 59:37Speaker 1: helped will Anderson because teams were no longer having to
- 59:40Speaker 1: just focus on one guy. They had two. That is
- 59:43Speaker 1: going to be a dynamic pass rush defense for Alabama
- 59:46Speaker 1: and dare I say it's going to be the best
- 59:48Speaker 1: in the country. And I think one of the best
- 59:49Speaker 1: defenses as far as pass rushing that Nick Saban has
- 59:53Speaker 1: ever had, which is saying something. All right, finally, who's
- 59:56Speaker 1: the five K J. Jefferson? Why not? Because I think
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: he's in a perfect opportunity here because the crazy amazing
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: schedule number one in the country, the type of games
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: he gets at home, the type of games that will
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: be showcase, and the weapons he has around him, that
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: he has the moment and the stage to emerge as
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: a Heisman candidate and potentially as the winner. I compared
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: a lot to I mean, we obviously know Arkansas history
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: with Darren McFadden's emergence back in the mid two thousand's
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: with some big games including that game at number two Auburn,
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: and then Johnny Manziel who is just otherworldly. But he
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: had to do it against a really good schedule. But
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: when the big stage happened, he didn't shy from it,
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: and that's actually when he put up his best numbers.
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: K J. Jefferens got Jefferson has got to do that.
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: And what makes kJ Jefferson different from all these other
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: quarterbacks and we were mentioning and the ones you will
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: see play in the next couple of weeks, is that
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: Jefferson legitimately puts the team on his back and we'll
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: do anything he has to to win games, not just
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: throwing the ball but running it. Look no further than
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: the Alabama game last season on the road, and the
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: one that I really sticks out to me is the
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: Old Miss game. I know that was a loss, but
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: that game might not even really be all that close
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: of k J. Jefferson's not in that quarterback because of
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: what he was doing running the ball. If he is
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: able to mix things up with this schedule where he's
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: putting up big numbers through the year in the Kindle
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: Briwles office, which you'll be able to do, but also
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: gets him get himself several, maybe even half a dozen
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: one yard type games where he just looks absolutely dominant.
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: He's getting those highlight real players where he's knocking linebackers
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: on their asses. I really like kJ Jefferson to be
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: that guy that maybe emerges in Bay late in the
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: season we're talking about. But he's got to do it
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: in the big game. So Week one, Cincinnati do it.
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: But obviously the big game, everybody's got schedules Alabama in Fayetteville.
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: That's his Heisman moment. He's got to be consistent and
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: great up until then. If he can beat Alabama, and
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: even if he doesn't beat albaa but put up amazing
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: numbers and keep Arkansas in that game even if they
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: don't win it, just based off his own play, he
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: may very well be and I think could be in
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: New York City for the Heisman Trophy ceremony. Is it
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: weird that I'm turned on right now? Right? I mean,
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: if we're talking ABOU mean I don't. I guess it's
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: weird that I'm a final thing. You've got whole hog,
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: I mean not, yes, I've I live hole I'll I
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: wake up hole hog and then I stay a hole hog.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: So two teams don't ask about and we'll let you
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: go and I appreciate the time. But Oklahoma, my wife
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: is a massive O You fan. I begrudgingly have a
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: relationship with the athletic director there and the head softwak
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: coach who was family and I've now become part of that,
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: and I just I root for him. But if they
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: don't win, I'm okay with that too. It's a weird
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: relationship I have with that. So tell me about the
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: OU football team with the animals coming in. Well, it
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: sounds like how you're reacting how politicians should react. We
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: listen to each other, we enjoy each other, but we
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: don't have to agree. We don't have to attack each other. Um.
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: I don't like their defensive roster. They lost a lot
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: of guys off defense, something like half a dozen to
- 1:02:58Speaker 1: the draft this past year. I thought their defense actually
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: didn't play quite up to what they were capable of
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: last season, but they was good enough and should have
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: been great. Um. But yet brand finnables to come in.
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: And he's just a magician. I mean, he had top
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: five defenses practically every year at Clempson over these last
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: six seven eight years. I don't think he could do
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: that Ou right away, especially in the trenches. They've got
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: to recruit up in the trenches. Defensively, they're not very big,
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: but that doesn't matter all that much the Big twelve
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: that can use some speed offensively. I like Dylan Gabriel
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: coming in at quarterback UH from UCF, but I'm not
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: so sure about the weapons around him, and I think
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: there will be some struggles. I think the Big twelve
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: is down this year. We were doing some power rankings
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: seven Sports recently and we had the A C C
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: behind the Big Twelve as far as conferences, and I
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: completely disagreed with that. And now let I'll let them know.
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: I said Big twelve is not going to be very
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: good this year, but oh, you still has enough talent
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: to win the conference, and there's schedule is extremely favorable
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: for them. Of course, they've got to be Texas and
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: the Cotton Bowl. Um. That game is going to be
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: very intriguing this year as far as the trajectory of
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: both programs as they get prepared to go to the SEC.
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: But I don't I don't know about OU this year.
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: I would not be surprised if they lost three or
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: four games this year, but I think if they still
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: win ten games, they'll win the Big twelve because just
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: because I think the Big twelve is gonna be down
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: this season, I'd also like to say we're gonna have
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: Vnables on this show. And if he hears this, hey
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: big fan. Not really, but I'm big fan, like I'm,
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: you know, just in general, like I'm I'm rooting for him. Finally,
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: Texas A and M. They have a salary cap onlike
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: any other team in college football? How good are they
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: going to be? There? Ranked really high? They it's a
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: lot of young guys though, so do you think they
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: can actually make the playoff? You know how we always
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: people always talk about, oh, Notre Dame is always overrated. Well,
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: Notre Dame is not really overrated anymore these days. It's
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: actually Texas A. M. I think they've taken that spot
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: from Notre Dame. I think they are a bit of
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: over rated. But you almost have to put him in
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: the top five by default because of the talent they
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: have on the roster. The problem is is, as we
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: speak here today, they haven't named a starting quarterback. They
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: don't even quite know who that guy is going to be. Also,
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: they're very young, as you just said, they got five
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: or four five star defensive lineman signed, but they're all freshman.
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: I think there's still a year or two away from
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: being in the playoff discussion. But they got the talent
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: this year to win ten games in the SEC, certainly.
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: But here's the other thing though, with Jimbo Fisher, great coach,
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: amazing recruiter. My issue with him is his offense just
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: never takes enough chances downfield. He doesn't like to stretch
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: of field, he doesn't like to push the tempo. He
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: likes to slow things down. And until he starts doing that,
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: I don't think he will be able to consistently win
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: the big games to beat an L s U and
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: in Alabama in the same season to get to Atlanta
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: for the SEC championship game. I keep hearing down there
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: in College Station that that they're changing things up a
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: little it they're going to be more aggressive offensively this season.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: But I've got my doubts because jim both Fisher is
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: still calling those plays. And secondly, here we are seasons
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: almost here and they're still yet to announce who their
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: starting quarterback is. Maybe a ten win season is possible
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: this year, but I think somewhere between eight to ten
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: wins is kind of what they're gonna be this this season,
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: but in twenty three and twenty four that's their window
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: to contend and be in the college football Playoff. There
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: is Brandon Marcello. He's the best seven sports following on Instagram,
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: Brandon Marcelo on Twitter be Marcello, and that's where we
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: can talk about to him on Twitter. It's easiest he
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: sees it. It's in the replies Instagram times you don't
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: look at the comments, but Twitter you always got to
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: see it. So, uh, great job. I appreciate you coming on.
- 1:06:40Speaker 1: Hopefully later in the season we can do this again.
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: And I encourage everybody to check out Brandon's writing. He is.
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: He's really great at what he does. Otherwise we wouldn't
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: have him here. And they're right, guys, that's correct. All right,
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: there's nobody in the room. I just make makes a
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: play of sound effect of people yelling. Yet it's just
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: as a sound effect. I'm playing that too. Yeah, Brandon,
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: thank you, buddy, talking to you soon hopefully, all right,
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: Thank you so much. Appreciate it, seybody, thanks to Brandon.

- 1:08:40Speaker 1: big Draft Kings guy. Let's go around and finish it here.
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: Let's do butt up up up your big opinion. I'm
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: gonna go first. Yes, yo, you want to go? No,
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: I want to hear you first. You're lining it up.
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: You jumped up like it's gonna be awesome. Let's go
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: over is pretty I'm ready when God speaks to you,
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: going God got a sign from God. The other day,
- 1:09:07Speaker 1: and this is a couple of weeks ago, I'm walking
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: my kids in my neighborhood and I hear a big
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: roar over my head. We look up and there's a
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: huge plane with no labels on it except on the
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: tail there's a big bird. Guys, it was the Arizona
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: Cardinals team plane flying over our heads. And we're like, Wow,
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: that's amazing. I've never seen a football team fly on
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: one airplane. Pretty amazing. So to me, well, what do
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: you mean, You've just never seen the team charter, But
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: you're like, I've never seen the football team on a
- 1:09:39Speaker 1: single airplane. I looked up. I'm like, I told my kids,
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: there's Kyler Murray's up there. You got DeAndre Hopkins up there.
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: J J. Wat's up there, They're all Kingsberry's up there.
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: And that's pretty cool. And to me, that's a sign
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: from God telling me that the Arizona Cardinals use draft kings.
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: The Arizona Cardinals may win the division this year just
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: because I saw that plane. I've never seen a team
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: plane in the sky, and the odds are look it up, bones,
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: let's let's bet it. What do you mean let's because favorite, right,
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: and then the Niners. You got the Niners in there
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: and the Seahawks. O, no, no, no, let's go to NFL.
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: I want to go over to team futures. Do you
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: think like the guys roster like eight through nine, five
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: are on that charter as well? Vision what do you
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: think they fight? Guys? It was a huge plane. They're
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: in a car chasing. They get there an hour before
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: the game. Okay, division winner they are. I mean, here's
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: the interesting thing about the NFC West. Those three teams,
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: the Rams, the Niners, and even the Cardinals, they're all
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: pretty close. The Seahawks don't have a quarterback. I mean
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: they do. They have to, so you have none. Yeah,
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: that would have thought it was the Rams, the Niners,
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: then the Cardinal It absolutely okay, But I guess what
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: I'm saying is the Rams plus one thirty, the Niners
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: plus one fifty. It's pretty similar. No, the Cardinals are
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: plus four d and you go, well, I love but
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: the Seahawks plus two thousand, and I'm gonna put a
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: little bit on that. Cardinals. Let's go, baby, No not,
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: let's not. Let's hear let us. You put your money
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: down and I'm with you on the back. You know what,
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: I'll go fifty on the Cardinals in the division. Dude,
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: he's to fifty at Draft Kings. Here's the thing. Draft
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: Kings should give me some money for your bet too,
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: because I have to spend all my money. That's a
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: good point, Mike. Do they have to do like vouchers
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: like gift cardon trying to allowance? My wife would appreciate.
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: That would be awesome. Okay, Eddie, thank you. Kick off, Kevin. Um,
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: I'm gonna go to Minnesota for this one. And they
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: have a new head coach who was named Kevin O'Connell.
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: Of course it comes from the Ram last name is O'Connell.
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: Why are you looking at me like Kevin? Yeah, I
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: didn't know your last name was O'Connell. Are you irish?
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: You're Irish just a little bit? Yes, yes, kiss the
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: Blarney stone and give me effect uh do a little
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: twenty three of me over here. So I'm going with
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: Justin Jefferson is going to get the triple Crown of
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: receiving this year. He will lead the league in receiving
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: your receiving touchdown and catches. Kevin O'Connell comes from the
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: Rams were exactly. Cooper Cup just had a crazy year
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: last year, and he's already said he's gonna use Justin
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: just like he used Cooper Cup, and Justin might be
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: even better than Cooper. So I just think Justin is
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: gonna go off this year. And I'm not in any
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: fantasy leagues with you guys, so we're good to go. Yeah,
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: I'm gonna say two words, and I think this offense
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: is amazing for Justin Jefferson. Oh, I just hate to
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: say it around you guys. Two words, what suck it? No,
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: I don't want to. Oh yeah, I wouldn't say that.
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: I thought you're gonna say Kirk Cousins. I think Cousins
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: actually gonna be pretty good, more than serviceable. I think
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: it'll be pretty good. I think it will be his
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: best year in Minnesota. But I think I think Adam
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: clin is going to have I think he's gonna have
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: a great year. I do. That's all I'm saying. You
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: don't know I think. I yeah, I think he'll be good.
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: I mean he's a stud too, and he's also more
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: of that slot across the middle, and I know Jefferson's
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: the guy, but how many people thought Cooper Cup was
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: that guy at the Rams until he was a guy.
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: So it'll be interesting to see. Maybe they split it,
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: but I don't think. I think it's gonna be really
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: good too. But who knows. Who knew Kevin O'Connell was
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: your freaking last name? Yeah, did you know that? That's
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: I didn't know that was his last name. Yes, Oh
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: he does look like O'Connell and he has it looks
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: like a Kevin Johnson. Interesting, Yeah, like your generic white
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: guy name like Johnson, like like you're just a dude
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: and putting him with nobody's ass. Yeah, you got tattoos.
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: It's like you got a beard, O'Connell, not strong. O'Connell's
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: like Conan O'Brien like, but all his tattoos are Boston.
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: They're all Boston related, so he's a Boston guy. He's Irish.
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: Time looking at his you've never stared at his arms,
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: but Irish to me is like they're like red hair
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: and pale skin. Physically sure, but the Irish are like, ah,
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: you're thinking of like the leper con Lucky Charms is
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: the only one, Adam, Yeah, man, I think that, uh,
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: I think that all this Madden stuff we were talking about, Um,
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: how about Madden not being as good as it used
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: to be or whatever. I think it's nonsense. Um. I
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: think video games peaked with techno super Bowl. That's my
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: hot take of the day. Bo Jackson was killing it.
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: Um Bo Jackson was a cheat code. Christian Quay and
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: then and then everybody else catching up. I had more
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: fun playing that game than I've ever had playing any
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: of the video game period, point blank, hot take. Or
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: it's like if somebody says that the shows they're old,
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: it's like an old clock ringing, like a yeah being
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: what they call the old clock, grandfather grandfather clock. That's
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: my grandfather clock. That's his grandfather clock taking the day.
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: All do that crap? Boy? Just go old school. Yeah,
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: you're like the best thing ever was when I was
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: a kid. Hey, Adam, you need to play a retro Bowl.
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: That's on your phone downloaded and it's just like tech
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: Mobil and it takes you back. It's take Mobile was legit,
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: though it was legit. But I remember Madden came out
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: the first year and they have numbers in New Jersey.
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: It was like two white slashes and it was a
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: little better than tech Mobile and John Madden wasn't super
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: famous then boom and you were like it was and
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: they bring the ambulance out when somebody got hurting. Was
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: the cover was generic, like no one was on the
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: cover was mad. I think you have a point that
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: a tech Mobile being awesome at the time because it
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: was unlike anything that ever happened. And I think it's
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: hot garbage now, but the fact that it was so
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: cool then because there was nothing like it. But even
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: now in the PlayStation world or or any of the systems,
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: there's nothing like Madden really either. They try every once
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: in a while to do another football game. But okay,
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: I'll accept your take, but it's it's the Grandfather clock
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: take of the day. That's what it is. One of
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: those every game the Grandfather And then well, next episode,
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: I have a freaking Grandfather clock noise and we'll play
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: it if somebody Grandfather's love it. Um, and I'll go last,
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: and I have a couple. I'll do a quick one. First.
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: I told you guys, the Lift Tour was awesome. I
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: told you, And the Lived Tour sucks and I hate it,
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: but it was awesome for the p G A absolutely
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: they're playing Monday Night golf. Now it's gonna be on television.
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: They're doing three verses three. The pj's had elevate because
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: it had they sat stagnant, we'd have been watching the
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: same crap, but we're known as crap. Would have been like,
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: all right, well, let's watch a random tournament occasionally, and
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: they catch them Major a day and a half of
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: the Major. But because of what the Lift War is doing,
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: pj's got, oh crap, we need we need get in shape.
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: We just got dumped, so we gotta get in shape
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: for our next person we date. And so that's what
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: they're doing right now. And so a little controversy. I
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: want to said the Lift or Rock, but I didn't
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: mean I'm saying what it was gonna do to PGA
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: was gonna be great. My second one is as far
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: as we're talking about NFL players who were gonna be
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: a lot better this year. I've said it before, I'll
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: say it again. You guys laughed at Trevor Lawrence last year. Yeah, exactly.
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: Now Trevor Lawrence is gonna have a good season this year.
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: They have stability. What the heck, I'm just moving my
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: microphone and while I was laughing at Trevor Lawrence's laughing
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: so hard at the microphone and finally have some stability
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: wide receiver. But also they have stability and coach and
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: Doug Peterson And so that's all a really great player
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: needs is consistency. That's it. Because he's gonna be great.
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: He runs to when we talk about these quarterbacks, were
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: like Jalen Hurts, he's all Trey Lance Lamar, don't Trevor
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: Lawrence runs the ball too. And I think he's gonna
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: have a pretty good season. I don't know that i'd
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: grab him in fantasy, but I'm talking just NFL terms.
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: I think he's gonna be pretty good this year, and
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: I think he's going to in the next few years
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: end up being a really really good quarterback. People don't
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: think he's really great for no reason. He has the
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: skill set to do it. He just was on a
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: terrible team with a terrible coach last year. And the
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: Worst Human I just just made a list of worst
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: remember that TV see Oh yeah, yeah, I was thinking
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: of the Worst Humans. Hitler. He's going to be a
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: commentator now. Yeah he's back with Oh boy, Worst Humans though,
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: I mean, you put him on the Hitler I mean
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: it's it's like the number one. He's on the same
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: list as Hitler. Well, it takes a while to get
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: to him, but as far as in the football spectrum,
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: he shows up there, it's funny. Karruth, Bobby Petrino Kruth. Okay,
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: nobody remembers, yeah, you killed people. M M. I know,
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: I don't know him. Hey, a topic for a different day.
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: Worst football player in Humans? Oh man, I saw o
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: j on TikTok being like I am blessed, and he
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: was like on the golf course, like you just stop talking,
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: just stop talking. I watched and I forgave him. You
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: fell for him. Okay, that's it. Thank you guys, appreciate
