- 0:19Speaker 2: Harrison comes out and it's zero degrees without a shirt.
- 0:21Speaker 2: I'm scared. When Brendan Schooler comes out and it's forty
- 0:24Speaker 2: two degrees, I'm like, you're an idiot.
- 0:27Speaker 3: Yeah, this morning was it was like in the twenties.
- 0:29Speaker 4: I like, oh God, air men doing like construction right now,
- 0:32Speaker 4: all day in this weather and it's like fifteen minutes.
- 0:35Speaker 5: You're out there of him, right.
- 0:36Speaker 2: I love Alex questioning his manhood. I have a theory
- 0:39Speaker 2: the reason why they don't do it from this show
- 0:41Speaker 2: is because they don't. They secretly don't want to say that.
- 0:43Speaker 2: They attend because everybody listens, but they don't want to
- 0:47Speaker 2: admit it.
- 0:47Speaker 6: They're not p you proud.
- 0:48Speaker 2: I'm not. I don't listen to that. That's a team thing.
- 0:50Speaker 5: We're kind of like port I'm going.
- 0:52Speaker 2: To fork this game. I'm going to have the Lions
- 0:54Speaker 2: winning but not covering for Cohop.
- 0:56Speaker 5: Oh.
- 0:57Speaker 2: It's like you in a road and you come to
- 0:58Speaker 2: a fork in the road. I say, okay, I'm gonna
- 1:01Speaker 2: go with the.
- 1:01Speaker 6: Win fork it.
- 1:02Speaker 5: I'll sue you for everybody three games on Saturday.
- 1:05Speaker 2: Fort which is crazy because I have things to do
- 1:08Speaker 2: on Saturday.
- 1:08Speaker 5: I can't be watching you watch the games in general
- 1:11Speaker 5: when you can't.
- 1:12Speaker 2: Of course I do.
- 1:13Speaker 6: I think he gets this feel for the leak.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Nine. I got some good news but her anyway, oh yeah, anyway,
- 1:23Speaker 2: Oh my god.
- 1:24Speaker 5: I took a shot. It's Christmas.
- 1:26Speaker 1: This is Patriot's Unfiltered.
- 1:28Speaker 7: Presented by Toyota's official website. For deals, buy a Toyota
- 1:32Speaker 7: dot com.
- 1:35Speaker 2: All right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It is Tuesday here
- 1:39Speaker 2: at the l S Stadium, and uh, getting ready for Christmas,
- 1:44Speaker 2: getting ready for oh my god, birthday.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Her birthday week was like the baby Jesus born on
- 1:52Speaker 3: Christmas Day and swaddling clothes. That's what her mother says.
- 1:57Speaker 4: Miss tell the story. She's like, I was out shopping
- 2:02Speaker 4: and my water brook on the subway.
- 2:04Speaker 8: Thanks to you.
- 2:04Speaker 2: I thought she was going to say. We were looking
- 2:06Speaker 2: for a place to stay and no one would. We
- 2:09Speaker 2: finally found a barn.
- 2:12Speaker 5: You don't have to stay in the barn.
- 2:17Speaker 2: We're also getting ready for the Denver Broncos.
- 2:19Speaker 6: Where's the game that it's it's expect it to be horse.
- 2:25Speaker 6: It's in Denver.
- 2:26Speaker 2: Denver's like to the league. You want us to play,
- 2:28Speaker 2: we have to play at home. Yeah, Christmas Christmas, so
- 2:32Speaker 2: we'll be heading to Denver on Saturday to get ready
- 2:35Speaker 2: for the Sunday game. Night game. It's gonna be tough,
- 2:39Speaker 2: gonna be tough. So that's that. I want to shout
- 2:44Speaker 2: out to Larry. I think his sintella. Larry and his
- 2:48Speaker 2: wife Zora make what we call Christmas crack. And they
- 2:52Speaker 2: sent us a card and it says, know your reindeer farts,
- 2:57Speaker 2: and it's got the pictures of all the reindeers and
- 3:00Speaker 2: uh Stinker. Instead of the regular reindeer names, they each
- 3:03Speaker 2: have fart names. And so Stinker is Fred Honker is,
- 3:07Speaker 2: Paul Lingerer is Mike Squeaker is Tamara Ripper, and Comet
- 3:15Speaker 2: is Alex. Yeah, thank you Larry for the beau you
- 3:22Speaker 2: just let it rip. Thank you Larry for the Christmas crack.
- 3:24Speaker 5: Can you feel bad about the next day?
- 3:26Speaker 2: Appreciate it normally?
- 3:27Speaker 6: Do well, let's get into it.
- 3:31Speaker 5: Yeah, so, of course the big news of the day is, yeah,
- 3:34Speaker 5: we could be looking for a pregame host again.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Yeah, so I thought you were going to say no,
- 3:38Speaker 2: you know what I know, But no, that really is
- 3:41Speaker 2: that's big, big news. I mean, We're Boston is considered,
- 3:45Speaker 2: you know, a top fifteen at least market maybe top ten,
- 3:48Speaker 2: I don't know. And the morning show and of on
- 3:52Speaker 2: radio drive time is a big deal. And Hardy is
- 3:55Speaker 2: now the co host as of January fourth. Yep, He's
- 4:00Speaker 2: going to be the co host for ninety eight point
- 4:01Speaker 2: five the morning Show with Fred Toucher. And that's huge.
- 4:05Speaker 2: That's a big, big deal And I'd like to take
- 4:08Speaker 2: all the credit for that.
- 4:11Speaker 3: Finally made it another King made for well.
- 4:14Speaker 2: But it's great. It's good for him. He's gonna have
- 4:16Speaker 2: to be getting up early.
- 4:19Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 4:19Speaker 2: Yeah, us, Yeah, it stinks for just one hurts yeah.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Last night and he was upset about it.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Yeah, because he gets along well with us, he does.
- 4:28Speaker 9: I think he's just a great I mean, plays very talented.
- 4:31Speaker 9: I mean, I think that's the biggest thing about Hardy
- 4:33Speaker 9: is he.
- 4:33Speaker 5: Just got to maybe got to make a run. Dude,
- 4:35Speaker 5: make a run.
- 4:36Speaker 6: You got to find somebody.
- 4:36Speaker 5: So sleeps overrated. No, it's a Hardy.
- 4:39Speaker 6: You got to make a run to.
- 4:42Speaker 8: Misarguing with him the most.
- 4:44Speaker 2: I'll be sending him a list of suggestions for the
- 4:47Speaker 2: morning show.
- 4:47Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, it should.
- 4:50Speaker 5: They talk in between when they talk about the music.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Well, he's gonna have to mention us a lot, don't
- 4:56Speaker 2: you think he does?
- 4:57Speaker 5: He does.
- 4:58Speaker 6: I heard him talking about talking about you on the
- 5:00Speaker 6: mid Day.
- 5:01Speaker 9: I heard him not directly, talking about our little weight
- 5:03Speaker 9: by the elevator before the game this weekend.
- 5:06Speaker 6: So I'm talking about that. I missed that didn't mention.
- 5:08Speaker 2: Us, But yeah, probably be. They be there for Live,
- 5:13Speaker 2: not butchered at all. So congratulations to Hardy.
- 5:19Speaker 9: Yeah, he's gonna have to bang out these last three
- 5:21Speaker 9: with us, so we'll enjoy every minute of it.
- 5:23Speaker 6: And uh yeah, we'll see.
- 5:25Speaker 3: I wonder these two are in a depression of I
- 5:27Speaker 3: think this will help us.
- 5:28Speaker 5: I really really like her. I liked all of our
- 5:31Speaker 5: pregame shows hostly he.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Gave you clubs.
- 5:34Speaker 5: But I really really like Hardy, and we did Mike
- 5:37Speaker 5: and I. It was you know, and then it was
- 5:42Speaker 5: just like it was different. It was very comfortable. So
- 5:45Speaker 5: we have to miss them.
- 5:46Speaker 2: We have to start thinking about next year and who
- 5:48Speaker 2: should replace him.
- 5:49Speaker 9: Yeah, send your applications into Paul and better jobs that
- 5:52Speaker 9: there's gonna be some Jaws trivia will.
- 5:54Speaker 6: Be part of the interview.
- 5:55Speaker 8: I'm assume, right, what are we going to do without
- 5:58Speaker 8: his key to the game.
- 6:00Speaker 6: I know he brought. He brought so much. It's well,
- 6:02Speaker 6: you know, we'll have three shows.
- 6:03Speaker 9: Done kind of, I guess six shows technically, the pre
- 6:06Speaker 9: and the post, so we can you know, we can
- 6:07Speaker 9: draw artist sadness, but maybe we should plan something there
- 6:10Speaker 9: for the the last Jets game.
- 6:12Speaker 6: Send him off, send them off?
- 6:13Speaker 5: Right?
- 6:14Speaker 2: Yeah? All right, So that's that. Getting back to the
- 6:17Speaker 2: Patriots in football.
- 6:19Speaker 5: Some quarterback news, Freddy.
- 6:20Speaker 2: Yeah, so lol, Greer gone lost.
- 6:25Speaker 5: I lost two quarterbacks. You spent the entire year on
- 6:27Speaker 5: the roster, yeah, yeah, or in the program.
- 6:31Speaker 2: So Nathan Rourke and I forget that he was still
- 6:33Speaker 2: on the practice squad.
- 6:34Speaker 5: But he was actually on the active roster for a
- 6:37Speaker 5: long time.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Yeah, rock and strange to Cold, strange.
- 6:42Speaker 6: To I r not Ye, not surprising, I think when
- 6:45Speaker 6: he got pulled off. I mean, I'm kind of a
- 6:48Speaker 6: little bit surprised.
- 6:48Speaker 9: We haven't heard anything else on any of those other injuries,
- 6:50Speaker 9: so maybe that's a good time.
- 6:51Speaker 2: But we got a little bit of a report. You know,
- 6:54Speaker 2: I'm not sure if it's how accurate it is about
- 6:58Speaker 2: J C. Jackson. That might be something to do with
- 7:01Speaker 2: some mental issues or you know, but I don't who
- 7:05Speaker 2: reported that.
- 7:05Speaker 3: A couple of people did. His agent was calling around
- 7:09Speaker 3: on Sunday night and mental health episode of some sort.
- 7:15Speaker 2: You know, people have anxiety attacks, you know, and that
- 7:19Speaker 2: could have happened just before the game, and that's why
- 7:22Speaker 2: he was a late scratch. And you know, uh who
- 7:25Speaker 2: came in Alex Austin.
- 7:29Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, I think a lot of people we
- 7:32Speaker 3: name names. Some people thought that it was a sign
- 7:34Speaker 3: of the dysfunction with the Patriots that J C. Jackson
- 7:38Speaker 3: was not was m i A and then Alex Austin
- 7:41Speaker 3: was thrown into the fire. And I think based off
- 7:43Speaker 3: of the series of events, you know, Sean Way would
- 7:45Speaker 3: have been active for the game and J C. Jackson
- 7:47Speaker 3: would have been inactive if they had known the night
- 7:50Speaker 3: before or something like that that J C. Jackson wasn't
- 7:53Speaker 3: going to be a So this was a true surprise.
- 7:57Speaker 5: You go to all the practices so you're a little
- 7:58Speaker 5: bit more up to date on all of the injury.
- 8:01Speaker 5: It was Sean Wade a healthy scratch. Yes, he was
- 8:04Speaker 5: not on the injury port. Yeah that I would agree
- 8:06Speaker 5: with that.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Yeah, So that's that's some news. Any other personnel news.
- 8:12Speaker 6: Or they signed a couple of guys.
- 8:14Speaker 9: They brought back cornerback William Hooper and they also signed
- 8:17Speaker 9: running back Keishawn Vaughn walking into Yeah, so they had
- 8:21Speaker 9: a few spots open based on you know, everything that happened.
- 8:23Speaker 6: So we'll see.
- 8:25Speaker 9: I mean, I think I don't know if did any
- 8:26Speaker 9: of those guys go to the roster with with strange going.
- 8:28Speaker 9: I r it was it wasn't really clarified and took
- 8:34Speaker 9: his spot then, so then they should still have a
- 8:36Speaker 9: couple of spots.
- 8:37Speaker 5: So the rest of the season they have to have
- 8:38Speaker 5: him on the was it a three year deal? Three games?
- 8:44Speaker 5: I remember him from that crazy play that he made
- 8:48Speaker 5: with Jacksonville.
- 8:48Speaker 6: It's making the rounds.
- 8:49Speaker 9: Right in the preseason one called Eli Manning and like
- 8:52Speaker 9: shook off like twelve tacklers and watched it.
- 8:55Speaker 3: He's got a big arm, big big kid, big arm.
- 8:57Speaker 3: You know, not not gonna say anything more glowingly than.
- 9:02Speaker 9: Is it going to start now? I like, you know,
- 9:04Speaker 9: have you thought about putting borkin? Why didn't we put
- 9:06Speaker 9: Rourke in? Do we have any packages for Rourke?
- 9:09Speaker 5: Mister welcome?
- 9:13Speaker 2: Yeah, But I mean we truly are playing out the string.
- 9:17Speaker 2: I mean that's exactly. I mean. Even when you listen
- 9:19Speaker 2: to UH head coach Bill Belichick on formal, you know,
- 9:25Speaker 2: when he was talking on Monday morning, you know, just
- 9:28Speaker 2: you know, rattling off, you know, McDermott was out and
- 9:32Speaker 2: called strange is gone, and you know Henry, and it
- 9:36Speaker 2: was just there was a certain amount of resignation in
- 9:40Speaker 2: his voice.
- 9:40Speaker 9: I thought it felt different to me this week. And
- 9:42Speaker 9: maybe I'm just stupid, but I don't know. I just
- 9:45Speaker 9: even for me coming out of the game, it just
- 9:47Speaker 9: kind of felt like it is what it is, Like,
- 9:49Speaker 9: let's just continue. It's hard to expect something different to happen.
- 9:53Speaker 9: The only thing I'm really looking for now is for
- 9:54Speaker 9: for young guys to get a chance. So Alex Austin
- 9:56Speaker 9: is still a rookie, you don't give him a chance,
- 9:58Speaker 9: you know, and all those guys, but you know, to
- 10:01Speaker 9: expect all of a sudden for them to turn a
- 10:02Speaker 9: corner or to change the narrative. It's it's kind of
- 10:05Speaker 9: think asking a lot at this point.
- 10:06Speaker 2: Yeah, so what are we looking for in these last
- 10:09Speaker 2: three games? You know what, give us something, Give us something,
- 10:13Speaker 2: because one of the things I want to do is
- 10:14Speaker 2: I want to veer off the Patriots a little bit
- 10:16Speaker 2: later in the show and maybe maybe do a consensus
- 10:20Speaker 2: power ranking in the NFL. I was thinking of doing that.
- 10:23Speaker 5: Don't be afraid to have us be prepared any but.
- 10:26Speaker 2: That's that's it's better to be sponts you know, spontaneous.
- 10:29Speaker 2: But you know what, what should we be looking for
- 10:33Speaker 2: as Patriots fans for these last three games? Give it?
- 10:36Speaker 2: Give us something, Give me something.
- 10:37Speaker 9: I think, yes, Mike, I said Mapu. I mean, just
- 10:39Speaker 9: any anybody who's a first or second year player. I
- 10:41Speaker 9: mean it's you know, as much as it's disappointing that
- 10:43Speaker 9: Strange went out when he was, you know, starting to
- 10:45Speaker 9: string some games together, you're gonna get a look at
- 10:47Speaker 9: Mafi now, and he's going to get some more experience
- 10:49Speaker 9: over the last few games. So anybody who can play
- 10:52Speaker 9: and get in there and that you haven't seen much of,
- 10:54Speaker 9: then I'm all for it. Give give Kevin Harris another chance.
- 10:56Speaker 9: You know, I mean you showed, I mean, he ran hard.
- 10:58Speaker 9: He looked like a guy who's been like chomping at
- 11:00Speaker 9: the bit to get out there. So that that to
- 11:03Speaker 9: me is is everything just especially in you know, some
- 11:06Speaker 9: interesting environments. See how you know, how do they deal
- 11:08Speaker 9: in Denver? It's a tough place to play. Buffalo is
- 11:09Speaker 9: a tough place to play. And I think then we're
- 11:12Speaker 9: going to turn the page to that last Jets game
- 11:14Speaker 9: where I feel like, all of a sudden it's going
- 11:15Speaker 9: to feel like a must win because things just suddenly
- 11:18Speaker 9: get really serious around here whenever they're playing the Jets.
- 11:21Speaker 9: So I'm very curious what the what the tone is
- 11:23Speaker 9: like going into that game, because it's I feel like
- 11:25Speaker 9: it will shift a little bit.
- 11:26Speaker 2: Should we be keeping our eye on postgame interactions with
- 11:29Speaker 2: Bill Belichick with like Broncos coaches, like any of the
- 11:34Speaker 2: players or coaches from other teams in these last three games,
- 11:37Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 11:37Speaker 9: I mean he was given to Travis Kelcey was getting
- 11:39Speaker 9: some love and Mahomes was getting some love from him.
- 11:42Speaker 3: And he has a relationship with Sean Payton as well,
- 11:45Speaker 3: So I would I wouldn't be surprised if if they
- 11:48Speaker 3: have some some pleasantries.
- 11:50Speaker 2: They both come from the Bill Parcells tree.
- 11:52Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, but I think you know, in this game
- 11:55Speaker 3: too against the Chiefs, just watching it back, like do
- 11:58Speaker 3: they still have any sort of coaching chops, Like, you know,
- 12:01Speaker 3: you go up against a guy like Mahomes, Like, what
- 12:03Speaker 3: is he? What's he got? What's he got for Mahomes? Like,
- 12:05Speaker 3: regardless of if the eleven guys can go out there
- 12:08Speaker 3: and actually execute it, like, that's not his necessarily what
- 12:11Speaker 3: I'm looking at just more you know, schematically, X's knows
- 12:15Speaker 3: why is like is there a system still in place
- 12:18Speaker 3: that makes you feel like you can make a case
- 12:20Speaker 3: for hanging on to this regime and this coaching staff.
- 12:23Speaker 3: And I thought in the game against Kansas City there
- 12:26Speaker 3: there was some instances where where Reid clearly had an
- 12:30Speaker 3: upper hand over the Patriots and just some third downs,
- 12:34Speaker 3: red zone like that sort of stuff, and they they
- 12:37Speaker 3: were they were out coached in a lot of ways.
- 12:39Speaker 2: That one play that everyone's talking about where you know,
- 12:43Speaker 2: the Homes got into a three points a single wing,
- 12:46Speaker 2: It took me three times to figure out how the
- 12:48Speaker 2: ball got into the hands of the person who scored
- 12:50Speaker 2: the touchdown. It really, I mean it was so well
- 12:53Speaker 2: executed and you know, uh, you know, but they practiced
- 12:59Speaker 2: that they have guys who can execute it and they're
- 13:02Speaker 2: willing to do stuff like that. You know.
- 13:04Speaker 6: The big screen pass too, I think was another one.
- 13:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 13:07Speaker 5: Those are the kinds of things screw up, wasn't it. No,
- 13:10Speaker 5: I yeah, I mean I think obviously, but it's something
- 13:12Speaker 5: that you catch them in. Like when the Patriots do
- 13:14Speaker 5: that to other teams, we don't say the other team
- 13:16Speaker 5: screwed up, like we say the Federal Brown touchdown. Like,
- 13:19Speaker 5: great job by Billy.
- 13:20Speaker 10: Oh.
- 13:21Speaker 5: I mean, it's kind of sad that we have to
- 13:22Speaker 5: go back twelve weeks to find one. But yeah, you
- 13:26Speaker 5: know what I mean, like that was that was good
- 13:27Speaker 5: play design?
- 13:28Speaker 9: Yeah, Doug, I mean duggar bit on the end around
- 13:30Speaker 9: and was just I mean going right for it. I mean,
- 13:32Speaker 9: I don't know what the responsibilities were, but I mean they.
- 13:34Speaker 6: Just that's what they do.
- 13:35Speaker 3: It was on he told me after the game.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, that was on me.
- 13:38Speaker 5: I think I think I'm sorry to just have he was.
- 13:43Speaker 5: He struggled Sunday.
- 13:44Speaker 3: One of his I think that that was the worst
- 13:46Speaker 3: game he's ever played as a Patriot in my in
- 13:48Speaker 3: my eyes, there was.
- 13:49Speaker 2: A report that came out after the game. I think
- 13:52Speaker 2: it was Greg Badard that said that they had approached
- 13:55Speaker 2: dugger early about a contract extension and it was so
- 13:59Speaker 2: fun apart that they just haven't gone on typical.
- 14:03Speaker 6: Yeah, throw it out there.
- 14:04Speaker 5: It was actually Mike Reese, and that's my point. Mike
- 14:10Speaker 5: Reese in his Sunday Notes had one of his items
- 14:13Speaker 5: was that they had gone to Douggart. Now, maybe Badard
- 14:17Speaker 5: didn't say this, and maybe this is a fretism or
- 14:20Speaker 5: but if you heard Bard say this after the fact,
- 14:22Speaker 5: that's clearly it was. Mike Reese wrote it before the
- 14:24Speaker 5: game in his Sunday Notes that he wasn't they were
- 14:28Speaker 5: far apart, and Mike assumed that he will be getting
- 14:32Speaker 5: to free agency, which you know is not huge deal
- 14:35Speaker 5: with three weeks left in the season. He's not signing now.
- 14:38Speaker 3: I would just I think, just to Greg's credit, Greg
- 14:42Speaker 3: has called Kyle Duggar the Jamie Collins of safeties in
- 14:45Speaker 3: the past, and I think that that's such an accurate
- 14:48Speaker 3: way to putting it. Where he has he'll be back
- 14:51Speaker 3: three times, right, Maybe he has these handfuls of splash
- 14:55Speaker 3: plays a season a game that you can say, wow,
- 14:58Speaker 3: like look at this athleticism, look at this range, you know, physicality,
- 15:02Speaker 3: But when it comes to it, like down to down consistency.
- 15:06Speaker 3: He's an undisciplined player. Yeah, great in coverage, he's just
- 15:09Speaker 3: a very undisciplined.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Could he also be Patrick Chung where he's being used
- 15:13Speaker 2: wrong and then if he comes back they figure out
- 15:15Speaker 2: how to really use him.
- 15:18Speaker 3: I mean maybe in some points of the season when
- 15:20Speaker 3: he's been playing deep, it's not the role for him.
- 15:22Speaker 3: But in this game that was. It was not because
- 15:24Speaker 3: he was playing deep and hey, you know he's in
- 15:27Speaker 3: his own coverage and Mahomes looks him off and he's
- 15:30Speaker 3: he's ten yards at you know, out of the passing
- 15:33Speaker 3: window because Mahomes just looks left and then comes back right.
- 15:36Speaker 2: And I just remember a few months ago, Duggar was
- 15:39Speaker 2: why aren't they resigning him?
- 15:40Speaker 10: Oh?
- 15:41Speaker 2: I were kicking him out the door.
- 15:42Speaker 5: I'm gonna I'll put my chips on the table. I
- 15:45Speaker 5: want them to resign dugger And I recognize the flaws
- 15:48Speaker 5: and the players. He's not a perfect player, Evan. I
- 15:51Speaker 5: would agree everything what he just said. I don't think
- 15:53Speaker 5: he's a great player in space and coverage, but I
- 15:57Speaker 5: think there's some value and I do think there's even
- 15:59Speaker 5: more value. And at some point you have to draft
- 16:02Speaker 5: a guy, develop him and give him a second contract.
- 16:04Speaker 5: They have been very reluctant to do that for a
- 16:06Speaker 5: while now, and I think that makes it hard.
- 16:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I would definitely still entertain resigning him. I just
- 16:13Speaker 3: think that, based off that report from Mike, if their
- 16:16Speaker 3: world's apart, I'm not. I'm not bridging the gap with
- 16:19Speaker 3: him like he's He's a player to me that needs
- 16:21Speaker 3: to be on a on a on a fairly reasonable contract,
- 16:25Speaker 3: Like he's not somebody I'm paying like Derwin James money too,
- 16:29Speaker 3: who also has had it up and dish.
- 16:30Speaker 5: So you know, I wouldn't give Derwin James chance money.
- 16:33Speaker 5: But what would you what would you give? You know,
- 16:36Speaker 5: what would you think?
- 16:37Speaker 3: I think what the Browns just gave Grant Delpit is
- 16:39Speaker 3: a good starting point. Three years, thirty six million.
- 16:42Speaker 5: Yeah, and I think you could. My guess is then
- 16:44Speaker 5: nowhere near that. That's my guess. I don't know the numbers.
- 16:47Speaker 5: Mike didn't have any numbers in his.
- 16:49Speaker 3: I guess is that Dugger is nowhere near that. I'm
- 16:51Speaker 3: not sure about them.
- 16:52Speaker 5: My guess is they wouldn't offer him anywhere near that amount.
- 16:55Speaker 3: Probably not, But I think that Dugger would also put
- 16:58Speaker 3: his nose up to that amount because.
- 17:00Speaker 5: He might be looking more. Jesse bates that I think he.
- 17:02Speaker 3: Thinks he's a better player than Grant Delpit, which he
- 17:04Speaker 3: might be, But I I just at the end of
- 17:07Speaker 3: the day, I feel like with him that you just
- 17:09Speaker 3: wish that some of these things, with his abilities and coverage,
- 17:13Speaker 3: we were improving or were being coached out of him,
- 17:18Speaker 3: and I just feel like he's the same player that
- 17:20Speaker 3: he was the last two or three years.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Speaking of coaching, speaking of a couple of things that
- 17:26Speaker 2: I was thinking about, do we know where Adrian Clem is?
- 17:30Speaker 2: What's going on with him?
- 17:31Speaker 3: Still not here?
- 17:32Speaker 2: He's not here?
- 17:33Speaker 5: So I did hear something?
- 17:36Speaker 2: What do you get there? Oh uh, it's a QR.
- 17:40Speaker 5: That's very that's very hyeah, it's very unfortunate what happened.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Yeah, forever, So that makes sense.
- 17:52Speaker 8: There's a power out. Gym is also Jim is also.
- 17:55Speaker 6: In the same This is a big moment right here.
- 17:59Speaker 5: I I'm more likely going to pass, but I will
- 18:02Speaker 5: check first.
- 18:03Speaker 6: If I can't have pieces of time, I'm just not
- 18:04Speaker 6: going to eat.
- 18:05Speaker 4: So in that shopping center, my gym is in that
- 18:07Speaker 4: shopping center, and I couldn't work out today because in the.
- 18:09Speaker 3: Piece of yep, my gym had the powers off. That's
- 18:12Speaker 3: why I didn't work.
- 18:13Speaker 2: Out for those of those For those people who are
- 18:16Speaker 2: from this area or East coast, we had a you know,
- 18:19Speaker 2: not a hurricane yesterday, but a nor'easter that brought in,
- 18:23Speaker 2: you know, sixty seventy mile an hour winds, heavy rain,
- 18:26Speaker 2: and a lot of people lost power yesterday and a
- 18:29Speaker 2: lot of people haven't got it back yet.
- 18:31Speaker 3: A lot of people in the building as well, a
- 18:34Speaker 3: lot of coaches. We just spoke to a couple of
- 18:36Speaker 3: coaches and some of them are without power.
- 18:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I got lucky.
- 18:39Speaker 6: School was canceled in my town because they still.
- 18:41Speaker 2: Got nowadays, you know, it gets over you know, have
- 18:45Speaker 2: any degrees.
- 18:45Speaker 9: Well there's yeah, there's people in the town who haven't
- 18:47Speaker 9: had power. But yesterday when I was driving home, I
- 18:49Speaker 9: telling the guys, I saw it like a down power
- 18:51Speaker 9: wire with like spitting sparks and fire just sitting there.
- 18:53Speaker 9: It was like, oh my gosh, So yeah, I don't know,
- 18:56Speaker 9: we'll see hopefully everybody's all right, gets their power back. Wow,
- 18:59Speaker 9: it's a little cold out there.
- 19:00Speaker 2: So no, we don't know where Adrian klem Is we
- 19:03Speaker 2: don't know what's going on.
- 19:04Speaker 3: He has health not this week was last week.
- 19:07Speaker 2: What he said, like, is it serious? Is like, what's that?
- 19:14Speaker 5: I think it's more significant than people originally thought. Okay,
- 19:19Speaker 5: it's not COVID No, I mean.
- 19:22Speaker 4: At this point to be back if it was, I mean,
- 19:25Speaker 4: is it I wonder if it's like you know a
- 19:27Speaker 4: lot of people have problems that arise like after COVID.
- 19:31Speaker 8: I wonder if it has something to.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Do with complications, Yeah, long COVID.
- 19:35Speaker 8: It could be like people do get long term complications
- 19:38Speaker 8: from that.
- 19:38Speaker 5: It's not COVID No.
- 19:41Speaker 2: But she was saying complicated. It could be kind it's not.
- 19:44Speaker 2: It's not complications from COVID No. Okay, so you know
- 19:47Speaker 2: what it is.
- 19:49Speaker 5: No, but I know it's not. I know what it's not.
- 19:51Speaker 2: Okay, all right, all right. So that's that.
- 19:54Speaker 5: And you know, it makes me, according to what I
- 19:56Speaker 5: was told you, it just makes me wonder, like I
- 19:58Speaker 5: didn't examine them. You know, one told me what.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Kind of coaching is the offensive line getting?
- 20:04Speaker 9: Well, now they got two rookies, probably they're going to
- 20:06Speaker 9: be playing the guard spots. I mean, I don't know
- 20:07Speaker 9: what's going to happen at left tackle. Hopefully Trent Brown
- 20:09Speaker 9: can come back, but.
- 20:10Speaker 2: So I worry about that, And that leads into my
- 20:12Speaker 2: next question about coaching is I let's assume that the
- 20:17Speaker 2: players are going to the players that are out there
- 20:19Speaker 2: are going to be playing hard. You know, like every
- 20:21Speaker 2: game is an audition, everything's on tape. You know, you're
- 20:24Speaker 2: playing for your career. So I assume that anyone that's
- 20:28Speaker 2: out there is going to be playing hard. But what's
- 20:30Speaker 2: the approach of the coaching for these last three games?
- 20:33Speaker 9: You know, is it like you just focus on I
- 20:35Speaker 9: forget what the phrase was I heard them say, but
- 20:38Speaker 9: just just focus on this game, you know, don't get
- 20:40Speaker 9: too carried away and what it's all.
- 20:41Speaker 2: Going to be. But even then, you know, a lot
- 20:44Speaker 2: of the people that watched this last game, and I
- 20:47Speaker 2: kind of agree with him saying that the coaches, in
- 20:50Speaker 2: particular Bill kind of gave up a little bit at
- 20:53Speaker 2: the end of that game, you know, And we talked
- 20:56Speaker 2: about it while Bill was doing his press conference that
- 20:59Speaker 2: you know, with fourteen and change, you're punting at four
- 21:02Speaker 2: and three on your own forty two or something like that,
- 21:05Speaker 2: that's kind of a white flag a little bit.
- 21:07Speaker 9: I think it's a far cry from what you're used to,
- 21:10Speaker 9: you know, just with the old Patriots and Chief's rivalry,
- 21:12Speaker 9: and you know, just the end of the game was
- 21:15Speaker 9: just so weird. I mean, they just they just take
- 21:17Speaker 9: an knee inside the twenty. I mean, you know, I
- 21:19Speaker 9: mean we're spoiled. We remember the days when if there
- 21:21Speaker 9: were ten seconds left on the clock and you had
- 21:22Speaker 9: Tom Brady, you were like, well, we better make sure
- 21:24Speaker 9: we get every point we can. But you know, it
- 21:27Speaker 9: was it was just kind of jarring both teams the
- 21:29Speaker 9: way they can, you know, and.
- 21:30Speaker 2: Like we criticize Bill for that, but at the end
- 21:34Speaker 2: of the day, you know, you got Vederian Lowe, who
- 21:36Speaker 2: comes in, who's your third string left tackle? And you
- 21:40Speaker 2: know Strange is already out, Hunter Henry's out. At that point,
- 21:44Speaker 2: it's like, why, you know, why throw these guys into
- 21:48Speaker 2: the fire like that.
- 21:49Speaker 5: Let's just well, I mean he always said, I mean
- 21:52Speaker 5: there's a couple of different things at work, and I
- 21:56Speaker 5: feel like, if you have guys on your roster, he
- 21:58Speaker 5: says all the time, we would they wouldn't be on
- 22:00Speaker 5: our roster if we didn't have confidence in them. Then
- 22:01Speaker 5: all of a sudden, it's fourth and three from the
- 22:03Speaker 5: forty two, and everybody just blindly accepts he never said this,
- 22:07Speaker 5: but everybody just blindly accepts that, Well, they didn't go
- 22:09Speaker 5: for it because they you know, they had all those
- 22:11Speaker 5: subs in there. Well, why didn't they call timeout in
- 22:13Speaker 5: the second quarter when before anybody had gotten hurt? You know,
- 22:16Speaker 5: when the other team's got the ball at the two
- 22:18Speaker 5: minute warning at the twenty one yard line, so time's
- 22:20Speaker 5: not a factor. Kansas City's got the ball to twenty
- 22:23Speaker 5: one with all three timeouts, they're going to either score
- 22:27Speaker 5: a touchdown, a field goal, or somehow get nothing, but
- 22:31Speaker 5: they're not going to run out of time because time's
- 22:33Speaker 5: not an issue. So in my view, when you run
- 22:36Speaker 5: the ball on first down in that situation, if you're
- 22:38Speaker 5: Andy Reid, the Patriot should have immediately called the timeout.
- 22:42Speaker 5: So now it's second and eight from the nineteen and
- 22:45Speaker 5: you have a timeout and it's like a minute fifty
- 22:47Speaker 5: five left. Yes, So instead they didn't snap the ball
- 22:50Speaker 5: again until thirty eight seconds went off the play clock.
- 22:53Speaker 2: So again, don't look at what they say, look at
- 22:56Speaker 2: what they do. And what they're doing is showing us
- 23:00Speaker 2: that he has very very little confidence in his offense
- 23:03Speaker 2: or he's tanking.
- 23:04Speaker 5: Well, I'm not even going so far as to say tanking,
- 23:07Speaker 5: because I don't think they tanked last year, and he
- 23:09Speaker 5: did the same stuff against Buffalo that Thursday night came.
- 23:11Speaker 2: So but I think, you know, with that little confidence
- 23:14Speaker 2: in your offense, what are they going to do for
- 23:17Speaker 2: these last three games?
- 23:18Speaker 5: You know, Like, I don't even know if it has
- 23:20Speaker 5: as much to do with offenses it does he does.
- 23:23Speaker 5: I think he's playing a lot of these games against
- 23:25Speaker 5: teams that he knows are better to keep it as
- 23:29Speaker 5: close as possible. Managing defeat, Managing defeat, great phrase coin,
- 23:34Speaker 5: managing defeat. You know, I gave Buddy Dan Shaughnessy credit.
- 23:38Speaker 5: Like he likes to pope fun at the Red Sox.
- 23:41Speaker 5: He says all the time, the illusion of contention with
- 23:44Speaker 5: the Red Sox, the hind Bloom Red Sox. Now we
- 23:46Speaker 5: have him Breslo evidently running the show. So it's the
- 23:52Speaker 5: illusion of contention for them. This is the illusion of
- 23:55Speaker 5: competitive to me, because the game really in the second
- 23:59Speaker 5: half wasn't really competitive, and he told you that he
- 24:03Speaker 5: didn't feel that way by his actions.
- 24:06Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah, that's setting up for what I know would
- 24:08Speaker 9: make Paul scream from the tilltops is well, seven one
- 24:12Speaker 9: score losses and he's.
- 24:13Speaker 6: No, you got a quarterback. Maybe those go the other way.
- 24:16Speaker 5: I did a little research share later.
- 24:18Speaker 2: And I was thinking of going back and looking at
- 24:21Speaker 2: Bill's postgame press conferences this year and how many times,
- 24:26Speaker 2: you know, toward the beginning of each press conference, you know,
- 24:28Speaker 2: when he does his little monologue where he said, you know,
- 24:32Speaker 2: game was competitive, how many times he said that this year?
- 24:35Speaker 2: He said it a lot. Yeah, and it tells you
- 24:37Speaker 2: that it's on his mind.
- 24:38Speaker 5: Yeah, And I'll say another one. And Mike alluded to
- 24:41Speaker 5: it about ten minutes ago when we were talking about
- 24:43Speaker 5: like the resignation in his voice, and you know, he's
- 24:45Speaker 5: rattling off all the names, you know this. Yeah. Right.
- 24:48Speaker 5: So there was one of the questions on Monday. I
- 24:50Speaker 5: don't know if you guys caught the press conference, but
- 24:53Speaker 5: early on someone asked him about the amount of guys
- 24:56Speaker 5: that have been thrust into bigger roles. You know, there's
- 24:59Speaker 5: been some guys that are you know, how how have
- 25:01Speaker 5: some of those guys handled the bigger roles? Well, there
- 25:05Speaker 5: certainly have been a lot of those, was how he
- 25:08Speaker 5: started the answer. I'm like, okay, So now if you're
- 25:12Speaker 5: paying attention out there, we can't protect.
- 25:15Speaker 3: The football, can't protect the quarter right.
- 25:17Speaker 5: We can't protect the quarterback. We can't protect the ball,
- 25:21Speaker 5: and we're just would beat to what would beat to
- 25:23Speaker 5: hell with injuries and we're still losing a lot of
- 25:27Speaker 5: close games. That's his mess, that's what he's trying to convince.
- 25:32Speaker 5: And now I don't know if he if it's like
- 25:33Speaker 5: an effort with if that's a message to Robert Kraft,
- 25:37Speaker 5: like trying to rally and keep his job, if he
- 25:41Speaker 5: in fact wants to be back, I think like I
- 25:45Speaker 5: don't think. Listen, every team in the league, especially this year,
- 25:49Speaker 5: has lost important players to injury. I don't think injuries
- 25:52Speaker 5: have had a big part of what the Patriots record is.
- 25:55Speaker 5: They lost Christian Gonzalez and Matthew Judon. Those are two
- 25:57Speaker 5: really big pieces to lose. I'm not finishing that. Most
- 26:01Speaker 5: of the rest have been on the margins Juju Smith
- 26:05Speaker 5: Schuster not playing Sunday did that's not you're three and
- 26:08Speaker 5: eleven with them or without them. Let's call it what
- 26:10Speaker 5: it is.
- 26:11Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, but when you when you lose anyone
- 26:13Speaker 2: who is a starter or a next in game.
- 26:17Speaker 5: Like every other team. Well, but it's when it's when
- 26:20Speaker 5: you lose Joe Burrow that you separate.
- 26:21Speaker 2: But can you can you let me finish? When when
- 26:24Speaker 2: you're when you're starting, guys aren't that good, and then
- 26:27Speaker 2: you lose them, your next guy up is even worse.
- 26:31Speaker 2: But whereas in other teams maybe their hierarchy, their level
- 26:36Speaker 2: of next guy up is high.
- 26:38Speaker 5: I'm giving them even more credit than that because I
- 26:40Speaker 5: do think Matthew Judah and Christian Gonzale is a good
- 26:43Speaker 5: solid starter. Oh yeah, like I but I don't think
- 26:46Speaker 5: that the Patriots have had more losses to injury than
- 26:49Speaker 5: any other team.
- 26:51Speaker 9: And I'd say to the issues that they've had, go
- 26:53Speaker 9: back and listen to Patriots Unfiltered in April and May
- 26:56Speaker 9: of last year, and they're all issues that we talked about.
- 26:58Speaker 9: I mean, I know I talked about the lack of password.
- 27:00Speaker 9: I mean, you probably go find the show what happens
- 27:02Speaker 9: if Matthew Judung goes down your pass?
- 27:04Speaker 6: Ud is gonna take? It was a very thin rock
- 27:07Speaker 6: the tackle position.
- 27:08Speaker 3: But you remember, I don't give them like the out,
- 27:11Speaker 3: like the exactly these injuries excuses and stuff like that.
- 27:14Speaker 3: It's like the line, whether it's been Trent Brown at
- 27:17Speaker 3: left tackle, Cole Strange at left guard, or Antonio Maffi
- 27:20Speaker 3: and Connor McDermott or Vederian Lowe. It's been trash all
- 27:23Speaker 3: season long. They have one of the worst offensive lines
- 27:25Speaker 3: in the entire league. They are dead last and pretty
- 27:29Speaker 3: much every single pass blocking metric in the league like regardless.
- 27:33Speaker 2: And that gets me. That gets me back to the coaching, like,
- 27:36Speaker 2: are these guys getting good coaching?
- 27:39Speaker 9: You know, you know, to just I don't know if
- 27:41Speaker 9: you know if you felt this way, Evan, but I was,
- 27:42Speaker 9: you know, watching the film back, but just seeing the contrast.
- 27:45Speaker 3: I love when he says that between.
- 27:47Speaker 9: Joe Toney and Cole Strange and and I don't you know,
- 27:49Speaker 9: I don't mean to disrespect cold Strange. I know he's been,
- 27:51Speaker 9: you know, better, but you look at Joe Toney and
- 27:54Speaker 9: it's it's just hard. And I know that they they
- 27:57Speaker 9: messed that whole thing up. But at the end of
- 27:58Speaker 9: the day, it was like, why couldn't you just kept
- 28:01Speaker 9: Joe Toney. I mean, it's probably your best draft pick
- 28:03Speaker 9: of the last ten years.
- 28:05Speaker 5: Maybe it's part of my point. You have to draft
- 28:09Speaker 5: these guys, develop them and give.
- 28:10Speaker 9: And You're looking at him and you're like, we didn't
- 28:11Speaker 9: need him, and we went to the first round to
- 28:13Speaker 9: take close strange and you know again, and this is
- 28:15Speaker 9: saying it is cool, change played, okay, but Joe Toney
- 28:17Speaker 9: just you see how calm he is, how smart he is,
- 28:19Speaker 9: how strong he is.
- 28:20Speaker 5: You know, he was at center on that play that Fritz.
- 28:23Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean he bought three different guys on one
- 28:24Speaker 9: play I was watching, and you know, it's just that's
- 28:27Speaker 9: the difference.
- 28:27Speaker 6: You see what a true looks like, and.
- 28:31Speaker 9: You know, and all the franchise tags and everything you
- 28:35Speaker 9: did with him, and you know, it's.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Just I've said it before. The problems with the offensive
- 28:40Speaker 2: line started with.
- 28:41Speaker 4: That, and it's like, you know, not just not to
- 28:44Speaker 4: compare Mike on one of Joe Toney or anything, but
- 28:46Speaker 4: it's like it makes you wonder, like how are they
- 28:48Speaker 4: going to handle that situation? Like are you going to
- 28:50Speaker 4: bring him back or are you going to be like, oh,
- 28:51Speaker 4: we can go find another one.
- 28:52Speaker 9: Yeah, it's I mean, it's you know, and I'm sure,
- 28:55Speaker 9: like you know, at the time, they could have given
- 28:57Speaker 9: him a contract, but by this point, if you would
- 28:59Speaker 9: give him a three for your deal and he's still here.
- 29:01Speaker 6: You would be a deal, right.
- 29:03Speaker 3: He would be events They created a mess for themselves.
- 29:07Speaker 3: It started with Joe Toney. Then in the same offseason
- 29:10Speaker 3: they trade Shack Mason, they low ball Ted Carris. They
- 29:13Speaker 3: lose three really solid players on the interior, and they've
- 29:16Speaker 3: been chasing their tail ever since. And they've had to
- 29:19Speaker 3: ignore issues at tackle because they've had to chase their
- 29:21Speaker 3: tail at guard.
- 29:22Speaker 5: It's the combin nation I agree with like I'm not necessary.
- 29:26Speaker 5: I didn't agree with franchising Toney because I think it's
- 29:28Speaker 5: too much money for for you know, I would have
- 29:31Speaker 5: it's based.
- 29:32Speaker 2: On Tackley or you have to franchise.
- 29:34Speaker 5: For what money. I don't want him to be one
- 29:36Speaker 5: of the highest paid guard I don't think that's good
- 29:38Speaker 5: money spent. And I think but Eavans right, when you
- 29:40Speaker 5: plugged in Ted Carris, it was fine. Then you let Ted.
- 29:44Speaker 5: It's when you let the Ted Carrises go over a
- 29:45Speaker 5: million dollars and killed.
- 29:47Speaker 2: I know, but think about that, that's a killer. Let's
- 29:49Speaker 2: just say. Let's just say, for argument's sake, at that
- 29:51Speaker 2: time they reach an agreement before they had to franchise
- 29:54Speaker 2: him that and he becomes the highest paid guard in
- 29:57Speaker 2: the NFL. It's only going to be for a little while, right,
- 30:00Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 30:00Speaker 5: And then you, I mean, I get that he's a
- 30:03Speaker 5: good player. I just don't value the positions.
- 30:05Speaker 2: But now you'd be like, I'm so glad I did that.
- 30:07Speaker 9: But I compare that the capital that you not only
- 30:09Speaker 9: paid him on the franchise tab, but the first round
- 30:10Speaker 9: pick you had to spend on Cole Strange to fill.
- 30:12Speaker 6: I mean, there's a lot of things.
- 30:14Speaker 5: I'd rather have the highest paid corner, or the highest
- 30:16Speaker 5: paid edge rusher, or the highest paid wide receiver, because
- 30:19Speaker 5: I'm pretty sure those guys are impacting you. Wins and
- 30:21Speaker 5: losses that I don't think guards are.
- 30:23Speaker 3: The dominant effect of Joe Toney, Shack Mason, and Ted
- 30:27Speaker 3: Carris and the decisions that they had to then make
- 30:30Speaker 3: after the fact to catch up on that. That's what's
- 30:32Speaker 3: the killer, because now you're using a first round pick
- 30:34Speaker 3: on Cole Strange instead of using a first round pick
- 30:36Speaker 3: out a different position or you could help your team more.
- 30:39Speaker 3: And they just had this whole that whole thing just
- 30:42Speaker 3: has never settled down since the moment that they did
- 30:44Speaker 3: all that, And.
- 30:45Speaker 5: You could have you could have given it to Tony
- 30:47Speaker 5: and maked him the highest guy like Fred, you know,
- 30:50Speaker 5: and then you let Mason and Carris go. Okay, but
- 30:54Speaker 5: it's like, I'm not going to give it to Tony. I
- 30:56Speaker 5: had already red I had already redid shack Mason, and
- 31:00Speaker 5: I let him go. I trade him for nothing, and
- 31:02Speaker 5: then let I let Caris go over peanuts, right.
- 31:05Speaker 3: I mean, in twenty one, their their line was really good,
- 31:08Speaker 3: and they they had better coaching. You know, car Busella
- 31:11Speaker 3: is a better coach than what they have right now.
- 31:13Speaker 3: But they had Kris Andrews and in Shaq Mason on
- 31:17Speaker 3: the interior, and it made sense that they wanted a
- 31:20Speaker 3: spot for mike on Winu. So you get rid of
- 31:23Speaker 3: one of those guys, but they got rid of both
- 31:25Speaker 3: of them.
- 31:25Speaker 5: I didn't understand trading Shaq Mason.
- 31:28Speaker 3: Yeah, I think because they thought that mike on Wanhu
- 31:30Speaker 3: was specifically a right side of the line player, and
- 31:34Speaker 3: so with Shaq.
- 31:35Speaker 2: But like think about Tony's he can play all three
- 31:37Speaker 2: left side positions. In a pinch, he can play tackle.
- 31:41Speaker 2: That was the beauty of having Joe Toney.
- 31:43Speaker 9: I mean, am I wrong to say he's their best
- 31:44Speaker 9: draft pick in the last ten years. I mean I
- 31:46Speaker 9: just kind of threw that out there, but like I
- 31:47Speaker 9: mean overall in.
- 31:48Speaker 3: Terms of probably, I mean it's not a high bar,
- 31:50Speaker 3: but probably either.
- 31:51Speaker 2: I mean last ten years.
- 31:53Speaker 5: Yeah, why don't you go, look, that's why we're here. Yeah,
- 31:57Speaker 5: maybe if you want to say barb war, but I
- 32:00Speaker 5: think a better playing I mean I would way more consistent.
- 32:03Speaker 5: I would probably. It was just I could probably give
- 32:05Speaker 5: it to too.
- 32:05Speaker 9: It was just striking to just see because you know,
- 32:08Speaker 9: you can put it right next to each other and
- 32:09Speaker 9: you're watching there's Joe Tooney, there's Cole Stranger seeing exactly,
- 32:13Speaker 9: you know, just how stout Toney is, and then you
- 32:16Speaker 9: see Cole, who you know, mitally has been, you know,
- 32:18Speaker 9: playing better. I think everybody knows that. I mean Bill
- 32:20Speaker 9: highlighted it too. But it's still it's it's hard. It's
- 32:23Speaker 9: hard for him.
- 32:23Speaker 5: He just doesn't have the answer to that question that
- 32:27Speaker 5: I talked about. Bugged me the way that certainly has
- 32:31Speaker 5: been a lot of them. I don't know, if you've
- 32:32Speaker 5: paid attention, you know we were down, you know, we
- 32:36Speaker 5: would down Connor McDermott in this game, right Like, I
- 32:38Speaker 5: don't know if you realize how much of that and
- 32:40Speaker 5: that's not a disrespectful shot at Connor McDermott. But he's
- 32:43Speaker 5: a he's a journeyman sort of jag who has given
- 32:46Speaker 5: you everything he has. I thought last year he was
- 32:49Speaker 5: played hurt, you know, the whole end of the year
- 32:51Speaker 5: last year when they were fighting to try to get
- 32:54Speaker 5: That's not a disrespectful he's just he is what he is.
- 32:56Speaker 5: He's a backup lineman, and now when he gets hurt
- 33:00Speaker 5: in the middle of a game, it's suddenly the difference
- 33:02Speaker 5: between competing and taking a knee down seventeen.
- 33:06Speaker 3: They also, I don't know if you knowice the other
- 33:09Speaker 3: guys in their line, but there their center, Creed pretty
- 33:11Speaker 3: pretty darn good, made one of the best centers in
- 33:13Speaker 3: the league. And then Jowan Taylor, their right tackle, is
- 33:16Speaker 3: a free agent this past offseason who they paid, and
- 33:18Speaker 3: he's having a pretty solid year too. You know, Sands
- 33:21Speaker 3: the whole.
- 33:21Speaker 5: Fil missing their left but well they were missing their
- 33:23Speaker 5: left tackle.
- 33:24Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, he didn't play, but you know Wanya Morris,
- 33:27Speaker 3: who's played at left tackle for them, had an up
- 33:30Speaker 3: and down game for sure, But he's a draft pick
- 33:32Speaker 3: that you know, you could have taken in the fourth
- 33:35Speaker 3: round instead of let's say, you know, City So or
- 33:37Speaker 3: Jake Andrews or somebody like that who actually plays tackle,
- 33:41Speaker 3: and they didn't. So you know, it's just this offensive
- 33:45Speaker 3: line that was by far their biggest issue in this game.
- 33:48Speaker 3: On Sunday, the second half, their pressure rate was like
- 33:51Speaker 3: sixty percent that they were getting through on blitzes constantly.
- 33:54Speaker 3: They couldn't you can't execute a drop back passing game
- 33:57Speaker 3: like that, Like you can't push the ball down the field,
- 33:59Speaker 3: even if they are opportunities to do so, when you
- 34:01Speaker 3: can't block anybody up front. And I thought that his
- 34:04Speaker 3: immediate answer to the question Bill's on the fourth down
- 34:07Speaker 3: was that we can't block anybody. Yeah, And that's that's
- 34:10Speaker 3: exactly how it played out. They were literally unable to
- 34:14Speaker 3: execute anything other than like quick game and but like
- 34:17Speaker 3: my donkey dunks and we don't.
- 34:19Speaker 5: Have to be labor the whole their approach point. But
- 34:23Speaker 5: that was part of what bothered me, is like they
- 34:25Speaker 5: didn't block anybody on the touchdown that they went for
- 34:27Speaker 5: in fourth and two either, you got immediate pressure on that.
- 34:30Speaker 5: He bought just enough time and he made a pass
- 34:33Speaker 5: like that can happen, like you're down seventeen in the
- 34:36Speaker 5: fourth quarter. So isn't the risk of maybe I can
- 34:40Speaker 5: get a little lucky here better than I'm just gonna
- 34:43Speaker 5: punt it to him and hope that they throw an
- 34:44Speaker 5: interception in two possessions.
- 34:46Speaker 3: Their line play is brutal. It is absolutely horrible to watch.
- 34:50Speaker 2: And then you know, so you know to stay on
- 34:51Speaker 2: the offense. You look at the body language of Bill
- 34:54Speaker 2: O'Brien on the sideline and it's a lot of just
- 34:57Speaker 2: shaking his head.
- 34:58Speaker 5: I saw I saw a clip yesterday after the first
- 35:00Speaker 5: series of the game where he looked like you just
- 35:02Speaker 5: wanted to fight somebody. Yeah, he didn't yell at anybody,
- 35:04Speaker 5: but the look on his face he just came walking,
- 35:07Speaker 5: was like, that's the first possession of the game. That's
- 35:10Speaker 5: how we're going three and out to start this game?
- 35:12Speaker 5: Like did not did anybody listen at all? Like I was,
- 35:14Speaker 5: I had all this in my mind, like because third
- 35:16Speaker 5: look on his face.
- 35:17Speaker 3: First down, first down, they send a run blitz backside,
- 35:21Speaker 3: safety blitzes off the off the line of scrimmage, nobody
- 35:24Speaker 3: blocks him, blown up in the backfield. Second down pressure, nothing,
- 35:28Speaker 3: Third down, Bailey Zappi throws a freaking dirt ball to
- 35:32Speaker 3: Pop Douglas who was open for the first down punt,
- 35:34Speaker 3: Like that's that's that offense right out of the gate.
- 35:38Speaker 3: And it's so much of it starts up front and
- 35:40Speaker 3: these teams are just they're just coming downhill at the
- 35:42Speaker 3: line of scrimmage again.
- 35:43Speaker 2: Nothing to worry about. No, you know, you give up
- 35:46Speaker 2: one play, that's fine, it doesn't matter. So I just
- 35:50Speaker 2: see in I sense this resignation on some of the coaches,
- 35:55Speaker 2: including the head Well.
- 35:56Speaker 3: Like everybody wants Bill O'Brien to and I'm not trying
- 35:58Speaker 3: to excuse him or resolve him of everything, but everybody
- 36:01Speaker 3: wants Bill O'Brien to, like dress it up better and
- 36:03Speaker 3: cook it up better. And it's like if you when
- 36:06Speaker 3: you drop back the pass and a quarterback hits the
- 36:08Speaker 3: top of the drop and he's got two guys in
- 36:10Speaker 3: his face immediately, like what do you want Bill O'Brien
- 36:12Speaker 3: to scheme up? Like what do you what do you
- 36:14Speaker 3: expect him to be in the lab doing at that
- 36:17Speaker 3: point in time when you know they they play action
- 36:20Speaker 3: and Bailey Zappi is the most blitzed quarterback in the
- 36:22Speaker 3: league on play action sixty percent of the time when
- 36:24Speaker 3: they run play action he's getting blitzed because teams are
- 36:27Speaker 3: run blitzing and they're just attacking the line of scrimmage.
- 36:30Speaker 3: Whether it's a run or it's a play action, either way,
- 36:32Speaker 3: they're going to be in the backfield and there's just
- 36:34Speaker 3: nobody blocking it. Like what do you want them to do? Honestly?
- 36:37Speaker 10: Like it.
- 36:40Speaker 5: You know, at least when they had Stevenson, I thought
- 36:42Speaker 5: there was at least some signs that it was getting
- 36:44Speaker 5: a little better running the ball. Since he went out,
- 36:46Speaker 5: it's back to like, you know, under two under three
- 36:49Speaker 5: yards of carry. This week they squeaked over three yards
- 36:52Speaker 5: of carry for Ezekiel Elliott in the Pittsburgh game. On
- 36:55Speaker 5: the last play of the game. He had a twelve
- 36:57Speaker 5: yard run on his last run of the game short
- 37:00Speaker 5: of the first down right here, right, No, but like
- 37:02Speaker 5: it was because they had gotten a penalty and it
- 37:05Speaker 5: was like second and fifty or third and fifteen or
- 37:07Speaker 5: whatever it was, and he got twelve yards to average
- 37:10Speaker 5: three point one. Like they can't run the ball at all. Yeah,
- 37:14Speaker 5: that's why getting play action blitzes.
- 37:16Speaker 3: Yeah. I was watching the Broncos against the Lions yet
- 37:20Speaker 3: last night, and the Lions line is just incredible. I
- 37:23Speaker 3: mean just it's it's beautiful to watch, Like the unison
- 37:27Speaker 3: that they block with, it's it's just fantastic. And you
- 37:31Speaker 3: just look at Jared Goff just standing there with all
- 37:34Speaker 3: the time in the world, no clean pocket, and it
- 37:37Speaker 3: just yeah, and just throwing the ball Like I did
- 37:41Speaker 3: not know. I said this to you off air, Like
- 37:43Speaker 3: I not know that Jared Goff had that kind of
- 37:46Speaker 3: arm streng but because he's able to just step into
- 37:48Speaker 3: every single throw and sling it. I mean, it's just
- 37:51Speaker 3: like they can do whatever they want because their line
- 37:53Speaker 3: is going to block it, whether it's in the run game,
- 37:55Speaker 3: the pass game, whatever. And then you watch the Patriots
- 37:58Speaker 3: film and it's just like an absolute.
- 38:00Speaker 5: Sin KOs or anything.
- 38:02Speaker 6: Chr right.
- 38:03Speaker 2: And even like you know last night the Eagles, I
- 38:05Speaker 2: know they lost, but like their interior, I mean they.
- 38:08Speaker 6: Just move people, you know, big dudes.
- 38:11Speaker 5: Seems like the Eagles again a little payback from those
- 38:13Speaker 5: games that they had. Oh it was kind of sketchy.
- 38:16Speaker 5: Referees come back at them the other way, like Dallas Kelsey.
- 38:20Speaker 5: Oh god, there was some bad calls in that game
- 38:22Speaker 5: last night against them.
- 38:23Speaker 2: All Right, foods here, Paul's hungry.
- 38:26Speaker 5: I can't make fun of Fred because evidently he doesn't
- 38:28Speaker 5: need any more.
- 38:28Speaker 6: I got food too.
- 38:29Speaker 2: We'll be back. We'll get to your calls and emails
- 38:31Speaker 2: after this.

- 39:20Speaker 13: And we were back after a little hiatus. Been a
- 39:23Speaker 13: couple of weeks of fields like Happy, a couple of shows.
- 39:26Speaker 13: Faith is back, PU halftime show start with some trivia
- 39:30Speaker 13: as usual, and this is this is this is random.
- 39:32Speaker 13: I larterly just whipped this together.
- 39:34Speaker 12: So all right.
- 39:35Speaker 13: Question one, and you know you're gonna get a T shirt,
- 39:38Speaker 13: I think a poster. You're you're getting something. You're you're
- 39:41Speaker 13: getting something, all right. Question one? What year did the
- 39:45Speaker 13: NFL switch from Rebook to Nike as their jersey supplier?
- 39:50Speaker 12: Know that one, okay? Question two?
- 39:53Speaker 13: How many career sacks did Teddy Bruski have? And question three,
- 39:59Speaker 13: when was the last time that the Patriots had a
- 40:01Speaker 13: top ten draft pick?
- 40:03Speaker 12: Okay? Because it looks like that's where we're read. We
- 40:07Speaker 12: might be top five.
- 40:09Speaker 2: All right.
- 40:09Speaker 13: So we've been doing Thursday night previews, but the games
- 40:13Speaker 13: are dying down and so as I was walking down
- 40:15Speaker 13: the studio of Faith, I was like, let's switch it
- 40:17Speaker 13: up a little, and I think we're going to talk
- 40:20Speaker 13: about a big issue in the league, which is the
- 40:22Speaker 13: quarterback play and injuries.
- 40:24Speaker 12: And everything.
- 40:25Speaker 13: I mean, Saturday, we had Ian Browning versus Nick Mullins.
- 40:30Speaker 10: Yeah, a lot of nobody's are getting their chance to
- 40:32Speaker 10: try to make.
- 40:34Speaker 13: And it's just crazy because there's a lot of quarterbacks
- 40:36Speaker 13: like still on the street, Like like I mean Cam,
- 40:39Speaker 13: you know, his last year here was okay, but.
- 40:40Speaker 12: Hey, we had a better record with him than we
- 40:41Speaker 12: do now.
- 40:42Speaker 10: I mean, league is just sad.
- 40:45Speaker 12: There you go.
- 40:46Speaker 13: There's that, which is a whole other issue. Let's just
- 40:48Speaker 13: run through some of the issues around the leagues. We've
- 40:50Speaker 13: got the Giants with Tommy DeVito, Tommy Cutlets, which it's
- 40:54Speaker 13: been a good story, but let's be real, that's gonna
- 40:56Speaker 13: that's probably gonna end eventually.
- 40:58Speaker 10: This season has been defined by good stories and then
- 41:01Speaker 10: like bad results.
- 41:02Speaker 12: Exact, or you get story and then.
- 41:05Speaker 13: It just kind of or you get a little insanity
- 41:07Speaker 13: run Like Dobbs, who went from the Pastronaut to the
- 41:10Speaker 13: Astronauts say, I don't know, Matt, you can cut that
- 41:13Speaker 13: out if you want. We had the Bears, they had
- 41:15Speaker 13: Tyler Bagent, Bigent Bagent. Yeah, he's gone, the Vikings, Josh Dobbs,
- 41:23Speaker 13: Nick Mullens, Jaron Hall and like, you know, these injuries
- 41:26Speaker 13: are unfortunate because you know Kirk Cousins, like contract year
- 41:30Speaker 13: older guy Aaron Rodgers four plays in, you know, see
- 41:33Speaker 13: what happens, like there's only so much you do about
- 41:35Speaker 13: these non contact injuries, but also.
- 41:37Speaker 10: Rush to get healthy obviously hoping to be in the playoffs.
- 41:40Speaker 13: And now and now you saw he wants to play
- 41:43Speaker 13: why but like now there's literally no reason to play
- 41:46Speaker 13: because like they're out. They got eliminated for good. So
- 41:48Speaker 13: now it's just like rest up the Texans. We had
- 41:52Speaker 13: we had case Keenum sighting this past weekend, which they won,
- 41:55Speaker 13: which also I think that means they should get the
- 41:57Speaker 13: Oilers jerseys back, but.
- 41:59Speaker 10: That might be a separatep for that's a whole nother
- 42:01Speaker 10: halftime show. But yeah, so you got some case Keo
- 42:04Speaker 10: because CJ. Stroud has been down now and I also
- 42:06Speaker 10: think I think at this point in the season, nobody's
- 42:09Speaker 10: fully healthy, but especially when your quarterback is not fully healthy,
- 42:12Speaker 10: like in Jacksonville with Trevor Lawrence, I feel like we
- 42:15Speaker 10: saw him just struggling through pains.
- 42:17Speaker 13: All this last and it's it's annoying because like you know,
- 42:20Speaker 13: we see these like really iffy roughing the passer calls,
- 42:23Speaker 13: which I'm kind of of the mindset of, like you
- 42:26Speaker 13: throw the flag, the guy already got hit, Like you
- 42:28Speaker 13: already got hit.
- 42:29Speaker 12: So what are we doing? Like they're gonna get hits
- 42:31Speaker 12: the contact sport.
- 42:32Speaker 13: But it's just it's just bad, and I don't know
- 42:35Speaker 13: how to fix it, and I don't know how you
- 42:36Speaker 13: can fix it because there's no like developmental league, which
- 42:39Speaker 13: is that's a whole other subject too. But then you know,
- 42:42Speaker 13: you got the whole NFC South, which is like their
- 42:44Speaker 13: starters are just gross as like the Falcons, Desmond Ridder Heineke,
- 42:49Speaker 13: who I like Heineke, Yeah, Derek Carr, who's like a
- 42:53Speaker 13: blow average starter, and you got Baker Mayfield who's turning
- 42:56Speaker 13: into it, oh.
- 42:57Speaker 10: God, a perfect pass.
- 43:00Speaker 12: And that's the thing. And that's the thing.
- 43:01Speaker 13: He's setting the bar right now. So I don't know
- 43:04Speaker 13: what to do. How we do The NFL's got an
- 43:06Speaker 13: issue because you know, they flexed up because also we
- 43:08Speaker 13: left out us. We had the Patriots.
- 43:10Speaker 12: We have an issue too. Yeah, we have an issue too.
- 43:13Speaker 12: And you know they.
- 43:14Speaker 13: Flexed us out of Monday night, which that was fun
- 43:17Speaker 13: for us because we had a normal Sunday. But they
- 43:19Speaker 13: were very close to having Monday Night, which ended up
- 43:21Speaker 13: being a good game. It was close to being Drew
- 43:23Speaker 13: Locke versus Marcus Mariota.
- 43:24Speaker 12: It was very close.
- 43:25Speaker 10: But then you have people like Joe Flacco who's doing
- 43:29Speaker 10: well after like what how many years is he not
- 43:31Speaker 10: really been playing?
- 43:32Speaker 12: It's interesting.
- 43:34Speaker 13: So then it's it's I mean, you hear this a bunch,
- 43:36Speaker 13: but like the backup quarterback position is going to turn
- 43:39Speaker 13: into the most valuable position because like these guys can't
- 43:41Speaker 13: especially with the extra game, they're probably going to add
- 43:44Speaker 13: another game.
- 43:45Speaker 10: So just when you look at how fast injuries can
- 43:47Speaker 10: happen and how you have to be able to adjust
- 43:49Speaker 10: on the fly, you look at the Jets, you look
- 43:50Speaker 10: at the Bikings, you look at the Jaguars, the Bengals
- 43:53Speaker 10: and the Chargers, like they didn't really.
- 43:56Speaker 13: People forget the gold said Anthony Richard said he was
- 43:59Speaker 13: looking good and now they got Minchew Mania's back.
- 44:01Speaker 10: Yeah, And so like I feel like this season specifically,
- 44:04Speaker 10: like we just have weeks on weeks where it's just
- 44:07Speaker 10: second string, third string quarterbacks are playing. So it's definitely
- 44:11Speaker 10: a valued position.
- 44:11Speaker 13: It's it's it's it's frustrating because sometimes you see these
- 44:15Speaker 13: games like that that Saturday game Vikings Bengals that you
- 44:19Speaker 13: could say that's a preseason matchup.
- 44:21Speaker 5: Oh, like.
- 44:23Speaker 10: The scoring is like off the charts. You either got
- 44:25Speaker 10: seventy point games or it's like nine.
- 44:27Speaker 13: To Well the Thursday night game also the third we
- 44:30Speaker 13: left that out. It was Easton Stick versus Aidan O'Connell,
- 44:33Speaker 13: who looks like the guy from Super Troopers.
- 44:36Speaker 10: Yes, but I mean then he puts up like sixty
- 44:38Speaker 10: sixty three plays sixty.
- 44:39Speaker 13: Three points and you know what that and that's the thing.
- 44:43Speaker 13: If that's the score we're getting, I don't care. Oh,
- 44:46Speaker 13: I don't care.
- 44:46Speaker 10: I'd rather nobody come in here and score sixty three.
- 44:48Speaker 10: Then we have the Carolina Falcons, you know, Carolina versus
- 44:51Speaker 10: Falcons game where it's like seven to nine.
- 44:53Speaker 12: Yeah, which is which is crazy? And did you see
- 44:55Speaker 12: that those stands? Oh?
- 44:56Speaker 13: Those and that I mean, you know everybody takes the
- 44:58Speaker 13: halftime pictures. You don't, no, But I feel for their.
- 45:02Speaker 10: Content team for sure, having to try to produce stuff,
- 45:04Speaker 10: especially fans are boycotting your.
- 45:06Speaker 13: Own team, Like tickets are going for forty five cents,
- 45:08Speaker 13: which I'm gonna do a little tangent here. As as
- 45:11Speaker 13: an NFL fan, and like if like now, I work
- 45:14Speaker 13: with the team, but if I see tickets for forty
- 45:17Speaker 13: five cents, I'm.
- 45:17Speaker 10: Going, oh, I mean like shine, Like why not?
- 45:20Speaker 13: I'm going like rain? Maybe because you know, Chargers game
- 45:23Speaker 13: now is miserable, but forty five cents that there you go.
- 45:27Speaker 12: You can spend. You can go off that your whole
- 45:29Speaker 12: budget for the ticket goes to hot dogs.
- 45:31Speaker 10: I mean, you're probably gonna pay five dollars in fees.
- 45:33Speaker 12: But that's fine. That's fine, better than the Taylor Swift fees,
- 45:36Speaker 12: you know.
- 45:37Speaker 10: Yeah, speaking of Taylor Swift, we had her in the building.
- 45:40Speaker 13: She was here, the queen, as they might say, Oh,
- 45:43Speaker 13: as I say, the queen was in the building.
- 45:46Speaker 12: I will say.
- 45:46Speaker 13: We posted the picture of her smiling for the camera,
- 45:49Speaker 13: but they didn't leave out the part where she did
- 45:50Speaker 13: not look happy on the show.
- 45:51Speaker 10: Yeah, they definitely left the video in it a little
- 45:53Speaker 10: bit too long. But apparently she was fine with being
- 45:55Speaker 10: put on the screen. I guess she just didn't want
- 45:57Speaker 10: to be on the screen that long.
- 45:58Speaker 12: There you go. Hey, you know, she means a lot
- 46:00Speaker 12: to this venue, and I'm sure she'll I'm sure she'll
- 46:02Speaker 12: be back. She'll be back.
- 46:04Speaker 13: Maybe not as a Chiefs fan, but you know, for
- 46:05Speaker 13: her tour whatever that is. Again, I don't know if
- 46:07Speaker 13: she doing back.
- 46:08Speaker 12: Yeah, I think she is gonna run.
- 46:10Speaker 10: She has another US leg, but I don't think Jillette
- 46:12Speaker 10: Stadium has been included.
- 46:13Speaker 13: Yeah, I'm sure we'll get that eventually. But Faith, I
- 46:17Speaker 13: think you know we switched up the topic. I'm glad
- 46:19Speaker 13: we did that because but I will say, talk about
- 46:21Speaker 13: Thursday night football. I think we have one or two
- 46:23Speaker 13: games left. And I tell all my friends when they're like,
- 46:25Speaker 13: I don't want to watch this trash, I'm like, you're
- 46:27Speaker 13: gonna be asking.
- 46:27Speaker 12: For it when it's March.
- 46:29Speaker 13: Yes, and the only thing on is like Reds Talks

- 47:42Speaker 5: Whatever you're doing, you do that.
- 47:43Speaker 2: We have eight it's fuel.
- 47:46Speaker 5: How about eleven minutes? Does that is that? Egregious?
- 47:49Speaker 15: Is eleven minutes in the whole day. See, here's the thing.
- 47:52Speaker 15: His work day is four hours. Our work day is
- 47:55Speaker 15: ten hours. Yeah, yeah, that's what he doesn't understand. Yeah,
- 47:59Speaker 15: that's what he does understand more.
- 48:01Speaker 5: Than does that.
- 48:02Speaker 14: Does that include when I'm here doing the ReBs or
- 48:04Speaker 14: I'm doing my satellite a single day on a single.
- 48:07Speaker 2: Day and a single We're not here to do the
- 48:09Speaker 2: podcast slash radio show. We're here to do other things.
- 48:12Speaker 2: We throw that in for our fans. Let's carry let
- 48:15Speaker 2: our fans understand that we need to eat.
- 48:17Speaker 5: Let's you and I both carry a little personal work.
- 48:20Speaker 2: Mater believe in UFOs. Hardy and you're just stupid. Let's
- 48:23Speaker 2: talk about UFOs.
- 48:25Speaker 5: You know what I'm going there.
- 48:26Speaker 12: And that's another great moment from.
- 48:33Speaker 2: Boy.
- 48:33Speaker 6: Was that an andy he he heats that's me. Oh man,
- 48:37Speaker 6: you guys got into it. That was when Hardy decided.
- 48:38Speaker 12: I'm out of here.
- 48:39Speaker 6: I'm leaving this show.
- 48:40Speaker 5: Now, that's the thing we we kid Mike and I
- 48:43Speaker 5: had to coax them back.
- 48:44Speaker 2: That's a long time thing. With so long your music.
- 48:48Speaker 6: Shows, he respects them.
- 48:50Speaker 3: He also told me that that he's worried about you
- 48:53Speaker 3: being mad at him about fly fishing. His takes on
- 48:55Speaker 3: fly fishing.
- 48:56Speaker 2: Why would he do that?
- 48:57Speaker 3: He said, Uh, Fred is ready to fire me anyway.
- 49:01Speaker 3: He didn't like what I said about fly fishing on
- 49:04Speaker 3: my music show.
- 49:06Speaker 2: That's perfect. He has a sense of humor, unlike a
- 49:10Speaker 2: lot of other people in the radio biz.
- 49:13Speaker 6: That's why he's so hard in the radio.
- 49:16Speaker 2: Have some fun.
- 49:17Speaker 5: That's my biggest not dead guys, who does I know?
- 49:20Speaker 9: But we're just like, you know, we get some stiff
- 49:22Speaker 9: in here who can't talk jaws and have some silliness,
- 49:24Speaker 9: and then it's gonna get stale.
- 49:25Speaker 2: Yeah, so we have to think. We have to, you know,
- 49:28Speaker 2: think about this and you.
- 49:30Speaker 6: Know, against send your resume is Paul Perillo care of.
- 49:33Speaker 2: But but much like the Patriots coaching staff, we've had
- 49:37Speaker 2: a brain drain when it comes to postgame hosts.
- 49:40Speaker 9: Like we're you know, well you've had stability for a
- 49:44Speaker 9: long time, and now it's going a job for myself though,
- 49:48Speaker 9: we're gonna franchise you.
- 49:49Speaker 6: You can't go anywhere.
- 49:51Speaker 5: I just hit you with the tag. I just create
- 49:53Speaker 5: better opportunities for others, just not myself.
- 49:55Speaker 2: Maybe we should bring in the bath tender.
- 49:59Speaker 3: Hey, oh pie, hatch out. We could do We could do.
- 50:05Speaker 2: Worst he could do that is the host or a guest.
- 50:09Speaker 5: He'd be the host host, I know.
- 50:11Speaker 2: But like I'm talking about, like who is Alex Isn't
- 50:14Speaker 2: he Isn't he a better guest?
- 50:16Speaker 16: Now?
- 50:16Speaker 3: Actually I think I think he's a better host really
- 50:19Speaker 3: in my time working with him, which is you know,
- 50:21Speaker 3: quite a bit.
- 50:22Speaker 6: Now.
- 50:22Speaker 3: I always love when he hosts because he just sets
- 50:25Speaker 3: the table and then I all I have to do
- 50:26Speaker 3: is think about about my take.
- 50:27Speaker 5: So he's better for you. That's much easier. That's why
- 50:30Speaker 5: we want that that seat to be right.
- 50:32Speaker 2: But you know, you need that host that can hit
- 50:34Speaker 2: the posts.
- 50:35Speaker 8: But I feel like Alex is I feel like Alex
- 50:37Speaker 8: is also good.
- 50:38Speaker 10: Yeah, it's also very funny.
- 50:41Speaker 3: And Alex at his core was at his core and
- 50:46Speaker 3: I hope he doesn't take offense to this. At his core,
- 50:48Speaker 3: I would say that like hosting is like that's his
- 50:51Speaker 3: being like a radio host, a Felger or somebody like
- 50:54Speaker 3: that is like his dream job. So I would say
- 50:56Speaker 3: that that's like at his at his roots.
- 50:58Speaker 2: I mean, if you're in radio, right, yeah, that's you
- 51:01Speaker 2: want to be the guy and they want to be
- 51:02Speaker 2: the guy.
- 51:03Speaker 9: Yeah right, it thinks it's so much easier for us
- 51:06Speaker 9: though that like you know, we come like we're stuck
- 51:08Speaker 9: waiting for Taylor Swift to get down the elevator.
- 51:10Speaker 6: And like, you know, Harty's got it. The show is started.
- 51:13Speaker 6: He's got plenty to say, you know, it's it's all
- 51:15Speaker 6: taken care of. We just got to sit here and
- 51:16Speaker 6: answer questions.
- 51:17Speaker 2: Yeah, but you know you have to read the reads
- 51:19Speaker 2: and you have to get to the break.
- 51:23Speaker 3: Today.
- 51:24Speaker 2: I know I don't have any in front of him.
- 51:25Speaker 5: Is that done?
- 51:28Speaker 9: You have to, you know, keep the flow of the
- 51:31Speaker 9: show going. Hard job so much like the days when
- 51:33Speaker 9: you're out and I'm like, I got a host. It's
- 51:35Speaker 9: like a whole different thing than just sitting here responding
- 51:37Speaker 9: to you as like you said at the table. It's
- 51:39Speaker 9: it's so much easier sitting in this seat than that.
- 51:42Speaker 11: I was.
- 51:42Speaker 2: I was going to tease him on the last show.
- 51:44Speaker 2: I might do it because we got an email about
- 51:47Speaker 2: how you know, Hardy tries to make the emails like theater.
- 51:50Speaker 6: Yea, yeah, we told them, We told them.
- 51:52Speaker 2: And I was going to say, you know, Hardy, I
- 51:54Speaker 2: I really need to apologize to you and to be
- 51:57Speaker 2: like you know what, because you know, I encourage you
- 52:00Speaker 2: to put a little bit more feeling into the emails.
- 52:03Speaker 2: But apparently our listeners really don't like it. They don't
- 52:06Speaker 2: they don't think you do a good job. You get
- 52:10Speaker 2: a good one.
- 52:11Speaker 9: Like we told him about that on the show this week,
- 52:12Speaker 9: and we're like, you know, they were, they're busting chops
- 52:14Speaker 9: about that. And then he went into a whole you know,
- 52:16Speaker 9: email reading that was very dramatic, but that he's it's funny.
- 52:20Speaker 2: Oh, it's good, miss you, Bob. Jeez my god, it's
- 52:25Speaker 2: out for the guy, all right, speaking to someone who
- 52:29Speaker 2: would probably want to be the host of the pre
- 52:31Speaker 2: postgame show, Patty, and he's taken outline. What's up, Patty?
- 52:37Speaker 17: If I could get drunks Freddy?
- 52:39Speaker 5: Oh well, and you're out callers need not a class.
- 52:45Speaker 17: So you were you were talking about like fellow check
- 52:49Speaker 17: and and how talent was and then guys start dropping
- 52:55Speaker 17: and I just wanted to make a point about him
- 52:57Speaker 17: and and kind of end it with a question. We
- 53:00Speaker 17: saw in Dynasties Part one and two, how I mean,
- 53:04Speaker 17: the offensive line wasn't great, but it was at least good,
- 53:07Speaker 17: and it seemed like they had decent depths too. And
- 53:11Speaker 17: over the last few years of relying on guys like
- 53:15Speaker 17: tren Brown, who's unreliable. We create holes at guard, you know,
- 53:21Speaker 17: and the guys that we get for depth pieces, they're
- 53:24Speaker 17: just they're terrible, you know, not to say that, like,
- 53:28Speaker 17: you know, second third string around the NFL. Guys that
- 53:30Speaker 17: are sitting on the bench aren't aren't really all that great.
- 53:33Speaker 17: That's why they're on the bench.
- 53:35Speaker 16: But what do you think that is?
- 53:37Speaker 18: What?
- 53:38Speaker 13: What?
- 53:38Speaker 17: What do you think he's missed because he has been
- 53:40Speaker 17: able to identify talent on both both ends of the
- 53:43Speaker 17: line on offensive defense.
- 53:45Speaker 16: And do you think if.
- 53:49Speaker 17: If they don't get rid of them, let's say that,
- 53:51Speaker 17: like he agrees to come back and just only become
- 53:54Speaker 17: a coach, do you think that crap loses a little
- 53:57Speaker 17: credibility with the fans? And that's all I got something.
- 54:00Speaker 9: If he comes back, there's going to be a definite
- 54:02Speaker 9: significant portion of the fan base that's pissed about it.
- 54:05Speaker 2: Sure.
- 54:05Speaker 3: Yeah. Two things. One, their offensive lines during the dynasty
- 54:09Speaker 3: were fantastic. I don't know what he's talking about that
- 54:11Speaker 3: they weren't good, doubt. I mean, Dante Scarnekia like probably
- 54:16Speaker 3: should be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Like
- 54:17Speaker 3: their line play for years was incredibly good. But I
- 54:23Speaker 3: think that, yes, there's a talent issue across the NFL
- 54:28Speaker 3: with offensive line play that probably relates to the lack
- 54:31Speaker 3: of padded practices and real time to drill technique and
- 54:34Speaker 3: things like that. That makes a second string guard in
- 54:38Speaker 3: today's day and age probably a little bit worse than
- 54:41Speaker 3: a second string guard ten, fifteen, twenty years ago. And
- 54:44Speaker 3: that's what makes it so much more important to invest
- 54:47Speaker 3: in the guys at the top, you know, the premium players,
- 54:51Speaker 3: because there isn't a lot of depth around the league
- 54:54Speaker 3: in offensive line, and so that makes a big difference
- 54:57Speaker 3: between Juwan Taylor and you know, Calvin Anderson, Like there's
- 55:01Speaker 3: a big, big drop off between those two players.
- 55:04Speaker 5: So let me ask you this as a guy who
- 55:06Speaker 5: watches a lot of the line play, and admittedly I don't,
- 55:09Speaker 5: so do you think that like a Joe and Drewsey
- 55:13Speaker 5: and like a Dan Conley Russ Hochstein, do you think
- 55:17Speaker 5: they're much more talented than Cole Strange.
- 55:21Speaker 3: I wouldn't say more talented. I think those guys all
- 55:24Speaker 3: we were tougher and stronger players on the interior, which
- 55:28Speaker 3: I think has been Cole's I'm a tough question, like
- 55:31Speaker 3: his toughness.
- 55:32Speaker 5: I just mean like he you know, his ability to
- 55:34Speaker 5: move PFI and things like city so you know those
- 55:37Speaker 5: kinds of guys. Yeah, yeah, Like because my feeling is
- 55:40Speaker 5: that I think that Brady doesn't get nearly enough credit
- 55:43Speaker 5: for how well the offensive line played, because I think
- 55:46Speaker 5: that Patty and I agree with Evan. They had one year,
- 55:49Speaker 5: like I think it was seven, they had four Pro
- 55:50Speaker 5: Bowlers out of the five offensive lineman, five layers of protection.
- 55:53Speaker 5: But but I think that what really stood out to
- 55:56Speaker 5: me was when like the year that was it, Dan
- 56:01Speaker 5: Copen was the center that got hurt, and then they
- 56:04Speaker 5: went through like four centers. Yeah, like Nick McDonald remember
- 56:07Speaker 5: some like you didn't notice, You didn't notice at all,
- 56:12Speaker 5: Brady noticed, you know, Brandon Goren playing you know, tackle
- 56:16Speaker 5: out of nowhere, Tom Ashworth, you know, a convert Like
- 56:20Speaker 5: these guys were like undrafted converted tight ends and they
- 56:24Speaker 5: were no different than like Nate Solder.
- 56:26Speaker 2: I also think that the game is changing a little bit,
- 56:29Speaker 2: even since.
- 56:30Speaker 5: You know Evan's point about the practices exactly well.
- 56:33Speaker 2: That plus the game itself, you know, from the early
- 56:36Speaker 2: two thousand, I think what's being asked of offensive linemen
- 56:39Speaker 2: these days is a little bit different than you know
- 56:42Speaker 2: in the past, you know, like and I think one
- 56:44Speaker 2: of the problems the Patriots of having, and again it
- 56:46Speaker 2: goes back to coaching, is communication. Yeah, that's my point
- 56:50Speaker 2: about getting sophisticated. It's not just I'm just beating you
- 56:54Speaker 2: one on one all the time, but it's communicating with Brady.
- 56:58Speaker 5: Any credit for that communication, Yeah, I do.
- 57:00Speaker 10: I do.
- 57:01Speaker 9: I go to what Cope and Dan Copen said, because
- 57:02Speaker 9: I think he was asked when he went to Denver
- 57:04Speaker 9: what was the difference, and he was like, Brady did everything.
- 57:06Speaker 9: So I mean, how much you know the quarterback when
- 57:07Speaker 9: we saw it last week with ZAPPI, you know, misidentifying
- 57:10Speaker 9: the mic, not setting the right protection. I mean, all
- 57:12Speaker 9: these things are things that Brady would always know where
- 57:15Speaker 9: the pressure is gonna be. He'll call the right mic,
- 57:17Speaker 9: he knows where he's gonna be hot.
- 57:18Speaker 2: So part of part of its physical ability, you know,
- 57:21Speaker 2: but a lot of it also is just communication and
- 57:24Speaker 2: you know, the cohesion and just being smart offensive lineman.
- 57:28Speaker 3: Yeah. I think that was my point. More to Patty's
- 57:30Speaker 3: point about their lines not necessarily being you know, up
- 57:33Speaker 3: and down or whatever. He said during the dynasty, is
- 57:35Speaker 3: that you know they were so buttoned up as a
- 57:37Speaker 3: group that the Tom Ashwurst and the Joe and Drewsy's
- 57:41Speaker 3: and the Dan Connelly's, like they could survive with players
- 57:44Speaker 3: like that because probably because of Brady a lot of it,
- 57:47Speaker 3: and because of Dante, like that was a lot of
- 57:49Speaker 3: it too. And you know, both those guys come back
- 57:52Speaker 3: because one's going into the Patriots Hall of Fame, the
- 57:54Speaker 3: others are ringing the bell in week one and they're
- 57:57Speaker 3: neither one of them are walking through the door.
- 58:00Speaker 9: And I always like during those dynasty, like I always
- 58:02Speaker 9: felt like there were games in September where they would
- 58:05Speaker 9: be like they're off. I remember, I think, what did
- 58:07Speaker 9: they lose to the Jags here maybe one year.
- 58:09Speaker 5: The game in Kansas City when the dynasty ended, and
- 58:14Speaker 5: was like.
- 58:17Speaker 3: De yeah, in the Miami game that you're right, week one, Miami,
- 58:22Speaker 3: that's revis this year, right, yeah? And they lost and
- 58:25Speaker 3: Jordan dev was like a really surprised starter. Like no
- 58:29Speaker 3: one that was covering the team at that time, if
- 58:30Speaker 3: I remember correctly thought that that Debbie was gonna gonna
- 58:34Speaker 3: be starting. But I've thought it way too much about
- 58:37Speaker 3: the whole alert system with the quarterback and how much
- 58:41Speaker 3: that is really is there anybody else on planet Earth
- 58:45Speaker 3: besides Tom Brady that can do it at a high level.
- 58:48Speaker 3: And when you start to think about, all right, if
- 58:50Speaker 3: you're gonna draft Drake May, if you're gonna draft George
- 58:53Speaker 3: Jayden Daniels, like you really think that one of those
- 58:55Speaker 3: quarterbacks is gonna come in here and be a field
- 58:57Speaker 3: general and start directing mike points and slide protections.
- 59:02Speaker 5: According to the Twitter machine.
- 59:05Speaker 3: Uh, you know that that's a real concern to me
- 59:08Speaker 3: because you start to talk about like bogging guys down
- 59:10Speaker 3: mentally and affecting them where now all of a sudden,
- 59:13Speaker 3: they're thinking so much because.
- 59:15Speaker 2: They all in the snap comes with half a second left.
- 59:17Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, And I I just I don't know, you know,
- 59:20Speaker 3: Zappi in this game, when you see guys running through
- 59:23Speaker 3: unblocked and things like that and their eyes, that's the quarterback.
- 59:27Speaker 3: The quarterback didn't set the protection properly. And I just
- 59:30Speaker 3: wonder true too with with this group like you have
- 59:33Speaker 3: David Andrews, he's a captain in the veteran center that's
- 59:36Speaker 3: been doing it for a decade, Like why is why
- 59:39Speaker 3: is the second year quarterback calling the mic points instead
- 59:43Speaker 3: of the center that's probably your most experienced player in
- 59:46Speaker 3: the building. It just I just feel like none of
- 59:49Speaker 3: that makes any sense. And uh, they're they're one of
- 59:51Speaker 3: a few teams that put this much on the quarterback.
- 59:53Speaker 2: I just think identifying the mic is overrated. Don't you
- 59:56Speaker 2: think it's like, you know, is it a kind of
- 59:58Speaker 2: a guess?
- 1:00:00Speaker 5: No, I don't know. I don't think it's over right, Like, okay,
- 1:00:04Speaker 5: so that's protection.
- 1:00:05Speaker 2: Great, here's your middle linebacker.
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: Okay, No, it's not the middle linebacker. It's the midpoint
- 1:00:10Speaker 3: of the protection. Okay, so what Okay? So, like when
- 1:00:13Speaker 3: Zappi got sacked by the corner blitz in the game
- 1:00:15Speaker 3: on Sunday, he set the mic point incorrectly. He set
- 1:00:20Speaker 3: the mic point strong side when he should have sent
- 1:00:21Speaker 3: it backside. And because he sent it strong side and
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: said the backside, nobody was there to pay.
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: But if if I'm opposing defense, as soon as I
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: hear the quarterback identify me as the midpoint, we know
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: what to do. We're gonna screw that up.
- 1:00:35Speaker 3: I don't think it's that simple. No, No, because then
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: you're like making split second changes like with like no,
- 1:00:41Speaker 3: as the balls being snapped.
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: I don't know. I don't know. If it's a split second,
- 1:00:45Speaker 2: it's you practice, It's like, if he calls this, we
- 1:00:48Speaker 2: do that. If he calls that, we do this.
- 1:00:49Speaker 5: And I've heard now listen, I don't I never played
- 1:00:52Speaker 5: at that level, so I don't know how prick it is.
- 1:00:54Speaker 5: But I've heard many times. You know, just sows the mic,
- 1:00:57Speaker 5: just sw's the mic and then they do switch no, no,
- 1:01:00Speaker 5: the mic. You hear it all the time, right as
- 1:01:02Speaker 5: they change like that, they reset the protection. But you know,
- 1:01:05Speaker 5: you look at different so if you're wrong, you're going
- 1:01:07Speaker 5: to be in trouble. Right, So I don't think it's overrated.
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: Well, you just look at different systems, like you know,
- 1:01:13Speaker 3: the Shanahan Tree for example, like the forty nine Ers.
- 1:01:17Speaker 3: The quarterback doesn't call anything, okay, so so if if
- 1:01:21Speaker 3: if there's a blitz, well, I mean he is the
- 1:01:24Speaker 3: best offensive mine in the game.
- 1:01:26Speaker 2: Sorry I was sorry, Oh sorry, okay, he doesn't anything, so.
- 1:01:34Speaker 3: He doesn't call anything, right, and so if the defense
- 1:01:37Speaker 3: sends the blitz off the edge like the Chiefs were doing,
- 1:01:40Speaker 3: a bunch on Sunday party has a programmed answer into
- 1:01:44Speaker 3: the original play call of how we're going to beat
- 1:01:47Speaker 3: this blitz right, so that that's different, whereas here they
- 1:01:52Speaker 3: ask it Bailey's appy to identify pre snap that this
- 1:01:56Speaker 3: corner is gonna blitz where they're or to me that
- 1:01:59Speaker 3: like it's a guess.
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: It's it's an educated guess, okay. And and and I
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: think it makes it even harder if you're asking the
- 1:02:07Speaker 2: sena to do it. Who's like in the trench and
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: to look up and oh.
- 1:02:11Speaker 3: That's that's probably why they at the quarterback do it.
- 1:02:14Speaker 3: But there's so many offenses now that are going away
- 1:02:17Speaker 3: from that. And I I also go back to like
- 1:02:19Speaker 3: Cam who said after they cut him that he had
- 1:02:22Speaker 3: never identified a mic point in his life until he
- 1:02:25Speaker 3: came to New England.
- 1:02:26Speaker 2: I don't think he knows much about fall. But anyway,
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: go ahead, right.
- 1:02:30Speaker 5: You're all out of your mind. I really do think
- 1:02:33Speaker 5: you're out of your mind. He knew how to he
- 1:02:35Speaker 5: knew how to play right. The guy, the guy that's
- 1:02:37Speaker 5: the MVP of the league, doesn't know anything.
- 1:02:38Speaker 2: About reading because because he was the best athlete on
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: the field, that's.
- 1:02:42Speaker 5: Why he was that good. But you think he didn't
- 1:02:44Speaker 5: know how to read a defense?
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: I don't. Okay, no, not at an NFL.
- 1:02:49Speaker 3: I'm not sure if I go there. But that's besides
- 1:02:51Speaker 3: the point. His center would call the protections for him
- 1:02:54Speaker 3: in Carolina and all that made let him do he
- 1:02:59Speaker 3: just be superman and just go out there and don't
- 1:03:02Speaker 3: read a defense. I'm not going that far, but like
- 1:03:05Speaker 3: it just allowed him to just worry about being Cam
- 1:03:09Speaker 3: Newton and he won MVP.
- 1:03:11Speaker 5: Of the way. We were all wrong. I thought he
- 1:03:12Speaker 5: was going to be better than he was two. We
- 1:03:14Speaker 5: don't have to we don't have to hold it against him.
- 1:03:16Speaker 2: For the rest, I think I think he got by
- 1:03:18Speaker 2: on his athletic ability.
- 1:03:19Speaker 5: I think that he was His strength was his ability,
- 1:03:21Speaker 5: no question about it. But don't tell me he couldn't
- 1:03:24Speaker 5: identify a MIC.
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: He couldn't do here.
- 1:03:27Speaker 5: Yeah, because that was the problem. They had nothing to
- 1:03:29Speaker 5: do with the fact.
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: They changed all the terms he was after two weeks.
- 1:03:32Speaker 5: To be fair, the problem in twenty twenty was that
- 1:03:35Speaker 5: he never knew what he was supposed to do, not
- 1:03:36Speaker 5: that he couldn't do it. It was that he didn't
- 1:03:38Speaker 5: know what he was supposed to be part of it.
- 1:03:42Speaker 5: That's the defense.
- 1:03:43Speaker 3: That's what he said when he did that big thing
- 1:03:44Speaker 3: with his father after he was cut by the page all.
- 1:03:46Speaker 5: About the whole that they changed the offense. When I
- 1:03:49Speaker 5: was he did say that that's right about that, not.
- 1:03:51Speaker 3: Not that part I'm talking.
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:03:53Speaker 5: He said that this playbook was as sophisticated as anything
- 1:04:00Speaker 5: anybody for him, anybody beside him, to give you a
- 1:04:03Speaker 5: launchry Tory Holt said the same thing.
- 1:04:07Speaker 2: And I've also heard other people say, it's.
- 1:04:08Speaker 5: Not that Reggie, Reggie Wayne people they didn't even want
- 1:04:12Speaker 5: to do it because it was so hard.
- 1:04:13Speaker 3: The only piece said that they can develop at the
- 1:04:15Speaker 3: receiver position is guys that used to play quarterback, because
- 1:04:18Speaker 3: it's the only people that can understand what they're doing.
- 1:04:21Speaker 5: Like it just every fair Myers, like every.
- 1:04:25Speaker 3: Single young player that comes into this system is confused.
- 1:04:30Speaker 3: They're like, what the heck am I doing? Pop Douglas,
- 1:04:33Speaker 3: Taekwon Thornton, like, none of them know how to run
- 1:04:36Speaker 3: routes in this offense. None of them understand it. So
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: at what point do does calculus? How much is that
- 1:04:42Speaker 3: holding them back?
- 1:04:43Speaker 12: Like that?
- 1:04:43Speaker 3: That's what they have to ask themselves more than anything.
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: It's a random Kim Newton. I love Kim Newton, but
- 1:04:52Speaker 2: I don't think he was.
- 1:04:53Speaker 5: I don't think that was his strength was like, you know,
- 1:04:55Speaker 5: being a film junkie and breaking it all down. But
- 1:04:58Speaker 5: just suggest that he didn't know how to.
- 1:04:59Speaker 12: Rea defense, not to.
- 1:05:02Speaker 2: The level that's required here.
- 1:05:04Speaker 5: Well, I don't think anybody has had that level since radio.
- 1:05:08Speaker 5: I don't think anybody mister my superpowers, my brain doesn't
- 1:05:11Speaker 5: have that ability.
- 1:05:12Speaker 2: We got Mac Jones. We got spoiled, and I think
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: the coaching staff got spoiled by having Tom Brady.
- 1:05:17Speaker 5: But do you think that Mac Jones has never read
- 1:05:19Speaker 5: a defense before? He can't do it at this level?
- 1:05:23Speaker 2: I don't, you know. I think he got spoiled by
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: being at Alabama. You know this is easy? Oh no,
- 1:05:29Speaker 2: it isn't.
- 1:05:30Speaker 6: I mean I would look to Bill O'Brien, is he
- 1:05:31Speaker 6: going to stick around? Are they going to you know, continue?
- 1:05:33Speaker 6: And I mean I also just brought up the point
- 1:05:34Speaker 6: of like, well, what did Bill O'Brien run in Texas?
- 1:05:37Speaker 5: In Houston?
- 1:05:38Speaker 4: No?
- 1:05:39Speaker 6: Well, you know what did he run in Houston?
- 1:05:40Speaker 9: Was this the same with these complication problems in Houston
- 1:05:43Speaker 9: with you know Watson and and you know Nuke and
- 1:05:45Speaker 9: all those guys down there.
- 1:05:47Speaker 3: The Houston system was interesting because like it was a
- 1:05:49Speaker 3: modified version because it featured Watson's mobility so much more
- 1:05:53Speaker 3: than what they were doing here. But he ran a
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: lot of empty in Houston, which he does. You know,
- 1:05:58Speaker 3: Bill Brian's empty packages is a big deal. But he
- 1:06:02Speaker 3: he ran a lot of empty in Houston, where like
- 1:06:04Speaker 3: Deshaun Watson, if like there was a protection issue, he
- 1:06:07Speaker 3: just ran out of it, you know what I mean.
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: And that's what he said, he said, you know, Deshaun
- 1:06:12Speaker 3: was so good at being an empty because he's his
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: own pass protection. So like, if there's an issue with
- 1:06:18Speaker 3: the mic point, he's not a sitting duck in the pocket.
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: He can just run around and make something happen from there.
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: And they don't have anybody like that right now.
- 1:06:25Speaker 9: I wonder what it was like when Bob came back
- 1:06:27Speaker 9: and like what was the repatriots ification of the offense,
- 1:06:31Speaker 9: Like was this he sits down with Bill, all right,
- 1:06:32Speaker 9: this is what you would run in Alabama.
- 1:06:34Speaker 6: This is what you were doing Houston. But we're gonna
- 1:06:35Speaker 6: get back to like these things. And again I just
- 1:06:38Speaker 6: I do. I can't get out of the back of
- 1:06:39Speaker 6: my mind.
- 1:06:39Speaker 9: Last offseason when they said we're gonna simplify the offense.
- 1:06:42Speaker 9: They seem so gung home want simplifying the offense last offseason?
- 1:06:45Speaker 6: Did that go by the wayside?
- 1:06:46Speaker 9: Were the things that they implemented excuse me that they
- 1:06:48Speaker 9: couldn't keep you know, I just they said those things
- 1:06:51Speaker 9: last year.
- 1:06:51Speaker 2: And it's I'm all for simplifying it as long as
- 1:06:54Speaker 2: you have good players, because the more simple you get,
- 1:06:57Speaker 2: the more you just have to beat the other guy
- 1:06:59Speaker 2: across from you.
- 1:07:00Speaker 9: That's a that's a fair point. We've got to stay
- 1:07:02Speaker 9: complicated because we don't have the horses to do it.
- 1:07:04Speaker 9: So we've got there has to be some element of yes, yeah,
- 1:07:08Speaker 9: it's so it's.
- 1:07:09Speaker 2: I don't know, it's it's very frustrating, you know.
- 1:07:12Speaker 5: Yeah, they all a lot of work to do. They
- 1:07:14Speaker 5: got they got to rebuild from the studs.
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: Let's go to Kevin in South Carolina. I hate Kevin.
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: Kevin big gang.
- 1:07:22Speaker 19: How's everybody all right?
- 1:07:23Speaker 6: Kevin?
- 1:07:24Speaker 5: Why intrigued?
- 1:07:27Speaker 19: I got a James Harrison story, Okay, I got James
- 1:07:33Speaker 19: Harrison is good at football, y'all, y'all allude to him
- 1:07:35Speaker 19: to the top. He says, James Harrison's out sugar intimated.
- 1:07:38Speaker 19: I agree, Okay, here in South Carolina, food and beverage.
- 1:07:44Speaker 19: That's the industry, ain't shoes or things that existed in
- 1:07:47Speaker 19: you know, Massachusetts. Jamie Harrison came into a.
- 1:07:53Speaker 16: What we call a.
- 1:07:55Speaker 19: Hostralian tourism we call it a hotel, and there were
- 1:08:00Speaker 19: wickers on the bar and he asked for some snickers.
- 1:08:03Speaker 19: I know the girl who offered those snickers to him
- 1:08:05Speaker 19: that day, Fellers. Yeah, she gave him every bag in
- 1:08:09Speaker 19: the house.
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: Okay, yes he is. And by the way, we call
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: them hotels up here too.
- 1:08:17Speaker 17: I grew up up there.
- 1:08:18Speaker 19: I remember that part.
- 1:08:19Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, So so is that it?
- 1:08:24Speaker 19: Thanks for Paula.
- 1:08:26Speaker 2: I just blew up the wrong person. Okay, he had
- 1:08:29Speaker 2: a comfort. Whoever was on the other line called back.
- 1:08:33Speaker 2: I don't know what that story was about.
- 1:08:35Speaker 5: I don't understand.
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: He wasn't He's an intimidating guy. Yes, so she gave
- 1:08:40Speaker 2: him every snicker in the house. Okay.
- 1:08:45Speaker 5: Next, so the whole you know, we're talking about Bill
- 1:08:49Speaker 5: and we were wondering, you know some of the resignation
- 1:08:51Speaker 5: in the voice. Is there, like some excuse making starting
- 1:08:55Speaker 5: and like the competitive the competitive competitive Okay, So the
- 1:08:58Speaker 5: Patriots do have the most score losses seven, and I
- 1:09:02Speaker 5: only looked at bad teams, you know, the teams that
- 1:09:04Speaker 5: they're fighting with for draft positions. So Arizona has four,
- 1:09:08Speaker 5: Carolina has five, Tennessee has six. You know, so like
- 1:09:13Speaker 5: these are the bad teams. Chicago has five, the Chargers
- 1:09:17Speaker 5: have five. Like, if you're a bad team, chances are
- 1:09:21Speaker 5: you've lost a lot of close games because that's the
- 1:09:24Speaker 5: way the league is.
- 1:09:25Speaker 2: But how many teams have been blown out thirty four
- 1:09:27Speaker 2: or nothing?
- 1:09:27Speaker 5: And oh all right, I just prepare that.
- 1:09:31Speaker 2: But mixed in with these close games are some utter blowouts.
- 1:09:34Speaker 5: Right, And my guess is that the bad teams, Like,
- 1:09:37Speaker 5: you know, one of the teams that didn't have a
- 1:09:39Speaker 5: lot of close losses, I think the Giants only had
- 1:09:42Speaker 5: three because they have had you know, like they lost
- 1:09:45Speaker 5: twenty four to six the other day. Yeah, you know,
- 1:09:48Speaker 5: Washington even has five one score losses out of their games,
- 1:09:52Speaker 5: and they haven't really been competitive really since they beat
- 1:09:55Speaker 5: the Patriots.
- 1:09:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:09:56Speaker 3: I feel like this is like a bigger picture thing,
- 1:09:58Speaker 3: is that we're getting in the power rank eventually.
- 1:10:01Speaker 5: Well that was that was part of why I brought
- 1:10:02Speaker 5: it up too, the whole power ranking.
- 1:10:04Speaker 3: I feel like this is what the league like thinks
- 1:10:07Speaker 3: that this is parody, Like they this is like kind
- 1:10:09Speaker 3: of what they wanted was it to be, you know,
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: less super team oriented and more parody. It's kind of
- 1:10:15Speaker 3: just made it worse.
- 1:10:16Speaker 5: Yeah, and you know the one score thing too, Like
- 1:10:19Speaker 5: there's you know, Bill jokes about it all the time,
- 1:10:20Speaker 5: there's no homecoming games. You know, we're not you know,
- 1:10:23Speaker 5: every the worst. I mean, Carolina is the worst team
- 1:10:26Speaker 5: in the league, right, I mean I think everybody would
- 1:10:28Speaker 5: sort of agree that they're thirty two. Don't know, not
- 1:10:31Speaker 5: only they have the worst record in the league, but
- 1:10:33Speaker 5: they stripped a lot of talent away and what little
- 1:10:36Speaker 5: they didn't they then sold off at the at the deadline.
- 1:10:39Speaker 5: Like so they don't have a lot of talent left.
- 1:10:42Speaker 5: And there's still like five one score losses out of
- 1:10:45Speaker 5: their twelve losses. You know, that just speaks like you
- 1:10:49Speaker 5: don't play Tennessee Chattanooga on Saturday and wins seventy eight
- 1:10:53Speaker 5: to nothing.
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: Right, let's go to John of South Beach, who I
- 1:10:57Speaker 2: blew up. Sorry about that, John, thanks for calling it.
- 1:10:59Speaker 5: That's Johnny south each By, that's his name.
- 1:11:01Speaker 2: What's up, John?
- 1:11:03Speaker 20: Howdy? And I just want to point out that Johnny
- 1:11:05Speaker 20: South Speach's nickname given to me.
- 1:11:06Speaker 5: I didn't play it, Yeah no, but but it's it's sticking.
- 1:11:09Speaker 5: It's sticking. They don't call you that, but they should.
- 1:11:11Speaker 5: As Randy Scott says on ESPN.
- 1:11:15Speaker 20: I'm graciously accepting it. So I'm calling in today with
- 1:11:18Speaker 20: a with a take that I had in my own
- 1:11:20Speaker 20: mind that I was wrong about.
- 1:11:23Speaker 6: Okay, takes a big man to him when he's wrong.
- 1:11:26Speaker 18: Absolutely, So I saw Jilanie Tobia getting a bunch of
- 1:11:32Speaker 18: snaps a lot earlier this year, and I was kind
- 1:11:34Speaker 18: of like, oh man, it's just kind of, you know,
- 1:11:36Speaker 18: another middling player who's playing in front of younger guys
- 1:11:39Speaker 18: that I'm gonna get a little frustrated watching.
- 1:11:42Speaker 20: And I'm and I'm not saying he's like, you know,
- 1:11:43Speaker 20: the next coming of Fred Warner or whatever, but I
- 1:11:45Speaker 20: think he's kind of, you know, outperformed my expectations personally.
- 1:11:51Speaker 20: And then I was kind of really sold on him
- 1:11:53Speaker 20: when he called in after the Pittsburgh victory and I
- 1:11:55Speaker 20: was like, oh, so he's also just appears to be.
- 1:11:58Speaker 5: A really great guy too, So I'd strongly agree with
- 1:12:01Speaker 5: the second part. Yeah, yeah, I wouldn't beat yourself up
- 1:12:04Speaker 5: too much on the first part. He's a good, solid player.
- 1:12:06Speaker 2: I don't.
- 1:12:07Speaker 5: I don't think he was blocking anybody young really though,
- 1:12:10Speaker 5: unless you want to say, you know, we need to
- 1:12:12Speaker 5: see Mabu. Yeah right, and you know you can make
- 1:12:15Speaker 5: an argument for that. But I think Tavai is so
- 1:12:20Speaker 5: he's not old. He's sort of one of the younger players,
- 1:12:23Speaker 5: and I think he's been fine.
- 1:12:25Speaker 3: Yeah, he's really I think one of the if you
- 1:12:27Speaker 3: want to, like there's one thing that Bill can still
- 1:12:30Speaker 3: do is like identify a player like Tavai who's not
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: a perfect player by any means, and say, like, these
- 1:12:37Speaker 3: are the three things that you're really good at, and
- 1:12:39Speaker 3: we're only going to ask him to do these three
- 1:12:40Speaker 3: things all the time. And it's he's still.
- 1:12:44Speaker 2: Able to do that.
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: On defense of like kind of putting guys into positions
- 1:12:48Speaker 3: to succeed, I suppose the way to say it, and Tavai,
- 1:12:50Speaker 3: I think is a perfect example of that. Like they
- 1:12:53Speaker 3: don't ask him to drop off the line twenty yards
- 1:12:56Speaker 3: into coverage too often, they don't ask him to do
- 1:12:58Speaker 3: things that are really outside of his purview. They really
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: understand the player and put him into play a good
- 1:13:03Speaker 3: spot That's why.
- 1:13:04Speaker 9: I just wonder with this defense in general, you know,
- 1:13:06Speaker 9: if things were to change, and I think about it
- 1:13:08Speaker 9: with a guy like Dugger, because you know, it's hard
- 1:13:10Speaker 9: to project Dugger being more productive in another defense when
- 1:13:13Speaker 9: he's here, He's plays the position.
- 1:13:15Speaker 12: They love.
- 1:13:16Speaker 9: This is like kind of how they've built their defense
- 1:13:18Speaker 9: around this guy. It's hard to like look at another
- 1:13:20Speaker 9: defense and see, like, you know, if somewhere else to
- 1:13:22Speaker 9: come in and change the scheme. How does Tavii fit
- 1:13:24Speaker 9: into like a base kind of scene. How does you
- 1:13:26Speaker 9: know Dugger is just a pure strong safety?
- 1:13:28Speaker 6: Would that be better for him?
- 1:13:29Speaker 12: Maybe?
- 1:13:30Speaker 5: I don't know.
- 1:13:30Speaker 6: It's just it's hard to kind of parse out.
- 1:13:32Speaker 3: Thanks John, and a lot of teams like nowadays don't
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: even play free and strong safety. They just play left
- 1:13:37Speaker 3: and right, and so in that system, like he's going
- 1:13:40Speaker 3: to have to play a lot more deep, yeah, because
- 1:13:42Speaker 3: like you're just rotating and you're and you're kind of
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: just staying a little bit.
- 1:13:45Speaker 6: I mean, he might be a lot more linebacker than
- 1:13:47Speaker 6: you know what I mean, samal Adams.
- 1:13:49Speaker 2: Yeah, let's see Matt Framiham simple question of all the
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: bad low moments of the season, in your opinion, what
- 1:13:57Speaker 2: was the moment that it registered that this season going
- 1:14:00Speaker 2: down the drain?
- 1:14:02Speaker 6: But when did you know that shut up by the
- 1:14:03Speaker 6: Saints at home?
- 1:14:04Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean, I look, I didn't have any grand expectations,
- 1:14:08Speaker 9: but I think when I got shut up by the
- 1:14:09Speaker 9: Saints at home, I thought this is gonna be worse
- 1:14:11Speaker 9: than we thought.
- 1:14:11Speaker 2: It probably could have been that for me.
- 1:14:14Speaker 5: I would agree with Mike that that was the end.
- 1:14:16Speaker 5: End the performance in Dallas.
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I told me that I was gonna say Dallas too.
- 1:14:21Speaker 5: That any any hope was gone for me that day.
- 1:14:23Speaker 5: But it ended. I agree with Mike, especially that one tier.
- 1:14:27Speaker 5: You can't respond from that performance against.
- 1:14:30Speaker 9: This team at home those two weeks right when you're
- 1:14:32Speaker 9: supposed to be kind of hitting on your stride maybe,
- 1:14:35Speaker 9: but you're starting to figure out who you are a
- 1:14:36Speaker 9: little bit.
- 1:14:37Speaker 6: And that was.
- 1:14:38Speaker 3: Yeah, the Dallas game just does does injuries, you know,
- 1:14:41Speaker 3: losing Judon and Gonzalez in the same game.
- 1:14:43Speaker 5: I was like, well, I don't know, I didn't even
- 1:14:45Speaker 5: think of that.
- 1:14:46Speaker 3: Like even besides the fact the scoreboard was a blowout,
- 1:14:49Speaker 3: Like I don't even get out of it.
- 1:14:50Speaker 5: It was like the way they played, like they just played,
- 1:14:54Speaker 5: they got they just got Dom that was like one
- 1:14:57Speaker 5: of the teams that you thought was one of the
- 1:14:58Speaker 5: better teams, and you saw the difference. That's why I
- 1:15:01Speaker 5: said to myself, WHOA, yeah, this is gonna.
- 1:15:03Speaker 2: Be Travis and West Virginia. Do any of you have
- 1:15:06Speaker 2: a hard time quantifying which failures are truly Bill Belichick's
- 1:15:10Speaker 2: fault in which are not. I have a hard time
- 1:15:13Speaker 2: with this because I don't think it's black and white.
- 1:15:15Speaker 2: I understand the blame falls and the guy at the top,
- 1:15:18Speaker 2: but sometimes the players do the opposite of what they're taught.
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: As a point of reference, if you go to McDonald's
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: and your fries are cold, who do you blame? Ray
- 1:15:26Speaker 2: Kroc regional manager, Cheff supervisor or dumb fry boy who
- 1:15:30Speaker 2: didn't follow proper protocol?
- 1:15:34Speaker 5: Close to this, not even close.
- 1:15:35Speaker 4: And I think for this one identifying what's Bill's fault,
- 1:15:39Speaker 4: definitely Mac Jones. Like that's one person that you can
- 1:15:41Speaker 4: say is his fault. Like, of course, like in that
- 1:15:43Speaker 4: McDonald's reference, the chef put the fries into the thing
- 1:15:48Speaker 4: and cooked them. But like like Mac is doing his
- 1:15:51Speaker 4: hard work, so he's putting the fries in the thing,
- 1:15:54Speaker 4: but he's also not executing correctly. So it's like in
- 1:15:56Speaker 4: that same breath, it's like you need to make fresh
- 1:15:58Speaker 4: fries because those fries have been sitting there all morning.
- 1:16:01Speaker 3: If we're going to use this analogy, like to me,
- 1:16:04Speaker 3: it's actually it's actually the opposite, right, is that if
- 1:16:08Speaker 3: you're blaming the fry cook, you're blaming the wrong person.
- 1:16:11Speaker 3: Like with the Patriots, it feels like the reason why
- 1:16:15Speaker 3: the fry cook is failing is because his equipment stinks, right,
- 1:16:18Speaker 3: and the owner of the McDonald's is cheaping out on
- 1:16:20Speaker 3: the on the air fryer, and so like the equipment staks.
- 1:16:23Speaker 6: He doesn't even know how to cook fries. He was
- 1:16:25Speaker 6: on shakes, he does shakes. You can't put a shake.
- 1:16:27Speaker 12: Guy on fries.
- 1:16:32Speaker 5: It's always like this, it's the front.
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: If it's always like that, I blame the reason supervised.
- 1:16:37Speaker 2: But if it's if it's just that day, I blame
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: the shift supervised.
- 1:16:40Speaker 12: Right.
- 1:16:40Speaker 3: But it's always like that one.
- 1:16:42Speaker 4: But I think also with that analogy, like if you
- 1:16:44Speaker 4: get a complaint of like cold fries once, it's like
- 1:16:47Speaker 4: you wouldn't let the fries be cold for the whole.
- 1:16:49Speaker 5: Month, right, that's another good point.
- 1:16:52Speaker 6: I mean, this is a complicated question.
- 1:16:54Speaker 5: And you know, and I love this analogy though, Yeah,
- 1:16:57Speaker 5: I like that. The premise of the question, I think
- 1:16:59Speaker 5: is you and I want to stand that.
- 1:17:01Speaker 6: But I just you know, there's certain specifics that I
- 1:17:04Speaker 6: would love to know.
- 1:17:05Speaker 9: And I say this as look, he's the guy, he's
- 1:17:06Speaker 9: making the decisions, but you know, i'd really love to
- 1:17:08Speaker 9: know the draft process of who, you know, how this
- 1:17:10Speaker 9: whole dynamic has worked over the last few years, you know,
- 1:17:13Speaker 9: who was kind of setting the table with some of
- 1:17:15Speaker 9: the guys that they've selected. I mean, it's just as
- 1:17:18Speaker 9: much as I blame the drafts on Bill, I also
- 1:17:20Speaker 9: am just like, did Bill really want Taekwon Thornton? Because
- 1:17:22Speaker 9: he doesn't seem like a Bill guy in any sense
- 1:17:24Speaker 9: of the word to me, you know, and the cold,
- 1:17:26Speaker 9: strange like and maybe he was the guy saying we
- 1:17:28Speaker 9: need a guard.
- 1:17:28Speaker 6: We're taking a guard. I don't care what you say.
- 1:17:31Speaker 6: But but the thing that I can't get away from
- 1:17:33Speaker 6: him is just the.
- 1:17:34Speaker 9: Coach, the stupid bad coach football that has been played
- 1:17:37Speaker 9: that that's the biggest departure for me, which it comes
- 1:17:40Speaker 9: right down to what's on the field and what's been
- 1:17:42Speaker 9: said as his strength it's a team that has done
- 1:17:44Speaker 9: stupid things for too long and shot themselves in the foot,
- 1:17:47Speaker 9: and that's a bad coach team, and that I think
- 1:17:48Speaker 9: is the biggest indictment of everything.
- 1:17:50Speaker 3: Well, Mike, if you want fast guys, you got a
- 1:17:52Speaker 3: draft fast guy.
- 1:17:54Speaker 5: Maybe it was him, give you one of those off air.
- 1:17:56Speaker 3: I just feel like with the with the drafting, I
- 1:18:00Speaker 3: truly believe that Bill comes in and says like, this
- 1:18:04Speaker 3: is what I need, what I feel like I need
- 1:18:07Speaker 3: for this football team to succeed. I need a guard,
- 1:18:10Speaker 3: I need an next receiver. I need this. And I
- 1:18:12Speaker 3: think that Macro does have some leeway. Then stack the board.
- 1:18:16Speaker 3: Now who Bill then takes off of his top five?
- 1:18:19Speaker 3: I think is still more of a billy.
- 1:18:21Speaker 5: I think whole strange reeks of a Bill pick ye
- 1:18:23Speaker 5: to me, Yeah, I kind of agree with you. I
- 1:18:26Speaker 5: agree with you.
- 1:18:27Speaker 8: Go back to the Rams laughing like how high he
- 1:18:31Speaker 8: was picked.
- 1:18:31Speaker 4: I still stand by they were laughing at how high
- 1:18:33Speaker 4: he was picked, and not just laughing at something else.
- 1:18:37Speaker 5: Oh yeah, I think it was a combination. But I
- 1:18:39Speaker 5: think they were making fun of themselves too, because I
- 1:18:41Speaker 5: think they liked that player and were planning on taking
- 1:18:44Speaker 5: him in like in the fourth round. That makes sense,
- 1:18:46Speaker 5: And I think they were kind of laughing at themselves
- 1:18:48Speaker 5: for a second. We're scouting this game, we thought we
- 1:18:51Speaker 5: were going to get a guy in the fourth round
- 1:18:52Speaker 5: that just went in the first round. I agree with you, Now,
- 1:18:55Speaker 5: I do think this part of that was as a
- 1:18:58Speaker 5: first round. They were also both of them were also
- 1:19:01Speaker 5: drunk at the time.
- 1:19:02Speaker 3: Oh and then they and then they The best part
- 1:19:04Speaker 3: was is that they actually tried to walk it back
- 1:19:06Speaker 3: and they were like, but when you turn on the film,
- 1:19:07Speaker 3: he looks like a first round.
- 1:19:09Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:19:09Speaker 3: Sure, sure.
- 1:19:11Speaker 5: The other part that I would like to know, and
- 1:19:13Speaker 5: you know, to the guy's question, like how much of
- 1:19:15Speaker 5: this is on Bill, is I'd like to know the
- 1:19:17Speaker 5: origin of the destruction of the relationship between Mac and Bill,
- 1:19:22Speaker 5: because there's no question that when he was in the
- 1:19:26Speaker 5: off season heading into year two, Bill was saying some
- 1:19:30Speaker 5: nice things about Mac, and quickly by the time we
- 1:19:33Speaker 5: got to training camp and into the season, that was gone.
- 1:19:37Speaker 5: So was that because Mac was petulant about Matt Patricia
- 1:19:42Speaker 5: and Bill got defensive of his boys, or was that
- 1:19:45Speaker 5: because Bill stopped believing in Mac, didn't like what he
- 1:19:51Speaker 5: saw and lost faith in Matt like, I'd like to
- 1:19:53Speaker 5: know what the origin of that deterioration.
- 1:19:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I think the origin is McDaniels leaving in Max
- 1:19:59Speaker 2: starting to question everything.
- 1:20:01Speaker 5: Yeah, but is it was it Max's fault or was
- 1:20:03Speaker 5: it Bill's fault? Oh?
- 1:20:04Speaker 2: I don't know, probably, but I just don't think Bill's
- 1:20:07Speaker 2: It doesn't matter. It's not for you to question your
- 1:20:10Speaker 2: second year player. Just do what you're being told, right.
- 1:20:12Speaker 5: But I'm just wondering whose fault it was that that
- 1:20:14Speaker 5: relationship to Terryory. I also just like, like, was it
- 1:20:17Speaker 5: because Bill put Patricia in?
- 1:20:19Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:20:20Speaker 2: Well I think that's part of it. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:20:22Speaker 3: And I just think that I think I can't do
- 1:20:24Speaker 3: it that way. What's that Today's athlete for better or worse?
- 1:20:28Speaker 5: You can't.
- 1:20:28Speaker 3: You can't do it that way where you say, like
- 1:20:31Speaker 3: you just do what you what you're told, because to them,
- 1:20:34Speaker 3: it's like, this is my career, right, Like I'm just
- 1:20:37Speaker 3: explaining their side of it, like, this is my career.
- 1:20:40Speaker 3: You're like, now, Max Jones was on the track of
- 1:20:42Speaker 3: being like a ten year starting quarterback in the NFL
- 1:20:45Speaker 3: coming out of the draft to now maybe catching on
- 1:20:48Speaker 3: as a backup someplace else next year or something like that.
- 1:20:51Speaker 3: So not only does he mess with like his you
- 1:20:53Speaker 3: know better for lack of a better word, legacy in
- 1:20:56Speaker 3: his career, he's also messing with his money because you know,
- 1:20:59Speaker 3: now he's not going to get paid like a starting
- 1:21:00Speaker 3: quarterback either. And I think a lot of these guys,
- 1:21:03Speaker 3: whether it's Caleb Williams, like, if they draft Caleb Williams
- 1:21:07Speaker 3: and they try to saddle him with a defensive coordinator
- 1:21:09Speaker 3: as his offensive course, it's going to be it's gonna
- 1:21:12Speaker 3: be the same exact thing.
- 1:21:13Speaker 9: It's It's just hard for me though, because it's it's
- 1:21:15Speaker 9: if he really didn't like Mac that much, why didn't
- 1:21:17Speaker 9: he get another option? And you know they obviously weren't
- 1:21:20Speaker 9: that high on Zappy, And you know, it's just it
- 1:21:23Speaker 9: seems like he had his reservations about Mac, but he
- 1:21:26Speaker 9: still was trying to push the buttons.
- 1:21:28Speaker 5: I'm leaving the door open for the possibility that not
- 1:21:32Speaker 5: all of this was Bill's fault, and that I.
- 1:21:35Speaker 6: Mean part about the stuff like going outside to consult
- 1:21:37Speaker 6: with that part of it.
- 1:21:38Speaker 4: I don't think it's Bill's fault, but I think if
- 1:21:42Speaker 4: I had my reservations about Mac, I would get him
- 1:21:45Speaker 4: things to help him like if I if I think,
- 1:21:47Speaker 4: if I thought mac Jones wasn't that good, I would
- 1:21:49Speaker 4: have gotten him some help versus gotting.
- 1:21:52Speaker 2: Well, I'm sure, I'm sure mac Jones wasn't the first
- 1:21:55Speaker 2: quarter young quarterback to question things. It's up to Bill
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: to get him back, to get salvage that, to get
- 1:22:01Speaker 2: him right, you know, to you know, that's part of
- 1:22:04Speaker 2: the job of a head coach.
- 1:22:05Speaker 3: I think the other thing too, And with this team,
- 1:22:09Speaker 3: you never actually know what where the spending like thing
- 1:22:14Speaker 3: is coming from. Like you know, is that ownership or
- 1:22:17Speaker 3: is that is that Bill wanted to run the team
- 1:22:19Speaker 3: this way I think of it. And if you look
- 1:22:22Speaker 3: at it, you know you can't be a team that
- 1:22:26Speaker 3: drafts poorly and doesn't aggressively spend. You got to do
- 1:22:30Speaker 3: one of the two, because if you do neither, then
- 1:22:34Speaker 3: you stay here.
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: We are right.
- 1:22:35Speaker 5: This is what happens.
- 1:22:37Speaker 2: You're looking at a draft pick. Let's go to Eldred
- 1:22:40Speaker 2: in North Carolina. What's up, Eldred?
- 1:22:44Speaker 5: Maybe?
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: Aldred?
- 1:22:45Speaker 10: Hey, all right, hello, I.
- 1:22:50Speaker 16: Disagree. Heard you earlier a couple years ago. I did
- 1:22:55Speaker 16: the same thing. Trade Cooney and Mason. There was your
- 1:23:01Speaker 16: core right there on your line. I don't think you
- 1:23:03Speaker 16: had to work, worry about why the wide receiver and
- 1:23:06Speaker 16: get another quarterback. But once you got rid of those guys,
- 1:23:09Speaker 16: you know, Lionepel make Jones looking like a sar.
- 1:23:13Speaker 5: So which part do you disagree with?
- 1:23:16Speaker 2: I hated.
- 1:23:17Speaker 5: I hated the decision to trade Shack Mason for nothing.
- 1:23:20Speaker 5: I would have kept Shack Mason.
- 1:23:22Speaker 16: But see they kept him, they paid him, but then
- 1:23:24Speaker 16: they they traded him. Proved me off. No, I agree,
- 1:23:27Speaker 16: and that didn't make no sense at all.
- 1:23:29Speaker 5: You gotta decide you got to keep some of them.
- 1:23:31Speaker 5: They let all three of them go. I don't agree
- 1:23:34Speaker 5: with that at all. Character Yeah, yeah, I would have
- 1:23:36Speaker 5: kept two of those three, and you're all right, then
- 1:23:39Speaker 5: you don't have to take cold strange Toavn's point, and
- 1:23:41Speaker 5: you can fill another need in the first round.
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: That that was the first round.
- 1:23:46Speaker 16: Get a tackle, but one or two, but uh, get
- 1:23:49Speaker 16: a tackle. But I wouldn't get in the first round though,
- 1:23:51Speaker 16: I still would have guy od L So he was
- 1:23:53Speaker 16: sitting there.
- 1:23:54Speaker 6: He was not sitting Lloyd is he playing well, I've
- 1:23:58Speaker 6: lost track of him at this point.
- 1:24:00Speaker 5: It's on Jacksonville, definitely, it's on jackson.
- 1:24:01Speaker 6: He was he was seven a lot of tackles, but
- 1:24:03Speaker 6: he's not sure that.
- 1:24:04Speaker 3: Well, Chris Alvey went like ten picks before the Patriots
- 1:24:07Speaker 3: original pick.
- 1:24:08Speaker 2: But that's that's he did.
- 1:24:09Speaker 5: He did, he did, He didn't whoa, whoa, he only
- 1:24:14Speaker 5: Chris Olive. Chris, go look it up, buddy, look it up.
- 1:24:20Speaker 5: The Saints traded up in the draft to draft him, Eldred,
- 1:24:23Speaker 5: They traded up to like twelve or something like that
- 1:24:26Speaker 5: to draft Chris Olave.
- 1:24:28Speaker 3: I I'm just.
- 1:24:30Speaker 5: Telling you he went. He went eleventh. Yeah, yeah, Chris
- 1:24:34Speaker 5: olave went eleventh in the twenty twenty two draft.
- 1:24:37Speaker 3: Yeah. The Patriots original pick I think was twenty three
- 1:24:40Speaker 3: is a Trent McDuffie pick.
- 1:24:41Speaker 5: Ironically, like three now that one Trent McDuffie was on
- 1:24:46Speaker 5: the board.
- 1:24:46Speaker 3: Now now Christian Watson is a fair one. I think
- 1:24:49Speaker 3: we're finding out why nobody wanted George Pickens. Like George
- 1:24:52Speaker 3: George Pickens, Oh, I would really talented player, but my goodness,
- 1:24:57Speaker 3: George Pickens come.
- 1:24:57Speaker 5: Back to us, Like I don't blame him at all.
- 1:25:01Speaker 3: His effort like not that this is you know, Steelers unfiltered,
- 1:25:07Speaker 3: but like George Pickens's effort is is terrible, like horrible.
- 1:25:10Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't blame him fight someone much like if
- 1:25:14Speaker 5: I was, I would have been fighting people on the side.
- 1:25:16Speaker 3: But you blame Trent Brown like it's the same thing,
- 1:25:18Speaker 3: Like their effort is terrible, Like no matter what you
- 1:25:20Speaker 3: say that, Like George Pickens, I.
- 1:25:22Speaker 5: Don't think Trent Brown's very good, but he's a run.
- 1:25:25Speaker 5: He has no effort and ability. Whereas George Pickens, I
- 1:25:29Speaker 5: think can shows you that if he was engaged, he'd
- 1:25:31Speaker 5: be fine.
- 1:25:32Speaker 2: No, I think I think it's the opposite. If Trent
- 1:25:34Speaker 2: Brown was engaged, he'd be great.
- 1:25:36Speaker 5: Yeah, except for six other teams would disagree with you because.
- 1:25:40Speaker 2: He just wouldn't engage. It's not ability for him. Uh,
- 1:25:44Speaker 2: Kareem's in Boston. What's up? Kareem?
- 1:25:48Speaker 21: Hey, guys, how's it going today?
- 1:25:50Speaker 2: All right, couple a couple.
- 1:25:54Speaker 21: I'm thinking this team needs some blue chip players. But
- 1:25:57Speaker 21: I don't like to call him blue chip. I call
- 1:25:59Speaker 21: him red chips. So if you guys could just let
- 1:26:02Speaker 21: me know a couple of red ship players you guys
- 1:26:04Speaker 21: have identified early, and should we build through the line
- 1:26:08Speaker 21: like we didn't do mac Jones or should we kind
- 1:26:10Speaker 21: of get some wessies.
- 1:26:13Speaker 2: Can I ask you why you call them red ships
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: out set of blue chips.
- 1:26:17Speaker 21: Hey, I don't want to get political.
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: That why okay, all right, So all right, are the
- 1:26:24Speaker 2: blue chip players that we identified probably.
- 1:26:27Speaker 3: Just blue chip players and red ship players are two
- 1:26:30Speaker 3: different things. So you're you're you can't just name it
- 1:26:33Speaker 3: a red ship player. It doesn't work like that.
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:26:35Speaker 3: Blue Chip players are like elite elite guys. Red chip
- 1:26:38Speaker 3: players are like above average starters. Okay, yeah, so that
- 1:26:41Speaker 3: there's a hierarchy.
- 1:26:43Speaker 5: I have to be honest, I never heard the term
- 1:26:45Speaker 5: red chip player.
- 1:26:46Speaker 3: Yeah, there's a higher I mean, like every every team,
- 1:26:49Speaker 3: I'm sure uses different terminology. The Patriots, US Colors, they do.
- 1:26:53Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:26:53Speaker 3: Bill tried to explain it one time. It's it's a
- 1:26:55Speaker 3: whole time.
- 1:26:56Speaker 2: Okay, So what's he really asking?
- 1:27:00Speaker 3: What he's blue chip players are least I know.
- 1:27:03Speaker 2: But he's asking this I called blue chip red ships.
- 1:27:06Speaker 2: So is he asking for our for blue chack?
- 1:27:08Speaker 6: He's asking for Marvin ha Caleb Williams in the usual
- 1:27:12Speaker 6: top five?
- 1:27:13Speaker 2: Who are some blue chip players we identified that turned
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: out to be blue chip players? Is that what he's asking?
- 1:27:18Speaker 6: Oh, he's asking in the past.
- 1:27:19Speaker 3: No, I think he's asking for like this dress off season.
- 1:27:22Speaker 2: Well, I haven't really got into it that much. Now
- 1:27:25Speaker 2: how much time I'm just talking about twenty twenty three.
- 1:27:29Speaker 5: Yeah, he was from Boston and he's he's a red
- 1:27:32Speaker 5: steak guy. Huh, dude, they'll kick you off.
- 1:27:36Speaker 6: He's a freedom fri.
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: Let's see John in South Carolina. So the top ten
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: ball catchers in Brady's time are by receptions.
- 1:27:45Speaker 3: Ball catchers by receptions.
- 1:27:47Speaker 2: Are Welker, Edelman, Brown, Gronk, Fock, White, Branch, Moss, and
- 1:27:51Speaker 2: Mondola and Watson. Branch could be misleading. Not sure how
- 1:27:55Speaker 2: much was before Brady. Do you guys think none of
- 1:27:59Speaker 2: that was before breaking? Do you guys think they are
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: all super smart players or was there always a super
- 1:28:04Speaker 2: smart player along with some good talent like having a
- 1:28:07Speaker 2: Welcer with a Gronk or a Branch with a Watson.
- 1:28:09Speaker 2: Could it not work without both types?
- 1:28:12Speaker 5: A lot of those guys were super smart.
- 1:28:14Speaker 3: Like Gronk was just Gronk. Yeah, and he admits it,
- 1:28:17Speaker 3: like he was like I never watched film. Brady just
- 1:28:18Speaker 3: told me where to go and I did it. And
- 1:28:20Speaker 3: Randy Moss is considered one of the smartest football guys
- 1:28:23Speaker 3: that high football really underrated guy in that respect.
- 1:28:29Speaker 2: How was Matt Castle successful? He never seemed like he
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: was overly pright.
- 1:28:33Speaker 3: To me, Well, he was in the greatest offense in
- 1:28:35Speaker 3: the history of the NFL.
- 1:28:37Speaker 5: Right and was kind of marginally successful. I mean, let's
- 1:28:40Speaker 5: call it what it was. He did a good job
- 1:28:42Speaker 5: filling in, all right.
- 1:28:43Speaker 2: So I want to get into this power ranking because
- 1:28:47Speaker 2: I want to hear what people think in terms of,
- 1:28:50Speaker 2: you know, who are the best teams right at this
- 1:28:52Speaker 2: moment now, in the true spirit of power ranking, in
- 1:28:56Speaker 2: my definition of it, it's who's playing the best right now?
- 1:29:00Speaker 2: Who's the best team?
- 1:29:01Speaker 16: Right?
- 1:29:01Speaker 3: San Francisco, Well, you didn't even let them tee it up?
- 1:29:04Speaker 6: Come on, is anybody going to.
- 1:29:06Speaker 5: So you're just going off of who's playing the best right?
- 1:29:09Speaker 2: This is the best right now?
- 1:29:12Speaker 5: No, I think we'll all agree with one. Does anybody
- 1:29:15Speaker 5: have any disagree with San Francisco?
- 1:29:17Speaker 2: I think, if not one, a close two with the Ravens.
- 1:29:20Speaker 5: Yep, I agree that. I wouldn't have anybody anywhere near
- 1:29:22Speaker 5: the way San Francisco, I say Ravens or second though.
- 1:29:24Speaker 3: If we're going off of how they're playing right now,
- 1:29:27Speaker 3: right and now, like what we think will happen in
- 1:29:30Speaker 3: the playoffs or whatever. I'd say San Francisco.
- 1:29:32Speaker 5: Yeah, I would say San Francisco. But if it's just
- 1:29:34Speaker 5: like a snapshot of today, now I have I have
- 1:29:37Speaker 5: all kinds of options for two.
- 1:29:39Speaker 3: Well, I'm you know how I feel about the quarterback
- 1:29:41Speaker 3: in San Francisco. So my whole thing is is that
- 1:29:43Speaker 3: when he gets into a game against an MVP caliber quarterback,
- 1:29:47Speaker 3: not a fake MVP caliber, it's going to.
- 1:29:49Speaker 2: Be your epitheph. You know, you know you're going to
- 1:29:51Speaker 2: go down swinging with it.
- 1:29:52Speaker 5: But I really really a good quarterback. But I like
- 1:29:56Speaker 5: strength of conviction.
- 1:29:57Speaker 16: I do.
- 1:29:58Speaker 5: I it's not I make fun of Jim Murray all
- 1:30:00Speaker 5: the time when I go on my shows and I
- 1:30:03Speaker 5: go with Jim, like Jim Murray is hilarious. Like Jake
- 1:30:06Speaker 5: Browning right now, I'm sure he wants to build a
- 1:30:07Speaker 5: statue of because he's he's won a couple of games somehow,
- 1:30:11Speaker 5: by the way, he's played four games, and everybody says
- 1:30:14Speaker 5: he's three and oh was a starter. They ignore the
- 1:30:16Speaker 5: game he lost somehow. I don't know. But he's a
- 1:30:20Speaker 5: flavor of the month guy, Jim, and he wears it
- 1:30:22Speaker 5: as a badge. Money laughs at himself. He makes Evans
- 1:30:25Speaker 5: the opposite, Like I could see brock Purdy winning like
- 1:30:29Speaker 5: back to back m vps and I'm still saying.
- 1:30:32Speaker 2: See it. But see, you don't like rock Purty because
- 1:30:35Speaker 2: he he hurts the whole idea of scouting because no
- 1:30:39Speaker 2: one had him as a no, no no.
- 1:30:43Speaker 3: It just to let you know, like the forty nine
- 1:30:46Speaker 3: ers also picked him in the seventh round, so if
- 1:30:49Speaker 3: they if their scouting department was so, they were wrong too.
- 1:30:52Speaker 8: But the biggest thing that know, he literally has everything
- 1:30:57Speaker 8: you could want.
- 1:30:58Speaker 2: They'll have to play well for everything.
- 1:31:00Speaker 3: Don't even try.
- 1:31:01Speaker 5: Nick Mullins had everything you wanted to that's terrible.
- 1:31:04Speaker 3: Brock Party is a better quarter but that's not the argument,
- 1:31:07Speaker 3: and you know it. Like in Brock Party, my concern
- 1:31:10Speaker 3: with the forty nine ers is that if they get
- 1:31:12Speaker 3: into a game with an elite quarterback on the other side,
- 1:31:15Speaker 3: is he going to be able to go toe to
- 1:31:17Speaker 3: toe Because they were in that game in the Super
- 1:31:19Speaker 3: Bowl with Jimmy g and he couldn't make the throws
- 1:31:22Speaker 3: in the end of the game to win the game. Right,
- 1:31:23Speaker 3: So if brock Perty is truly what you think he
- 1:31:25Speaker 3: is and he's different than those types of guys, then
- 1:31:28Speaker 3: they'll win the Super Bowl.
- 1:31:29Speaker 4: If he's experience, I think he has more experienced now.
- 1:31:32Speaker 4: I think it'd be a difference.
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: Under pressure is what you're saying, just of the moment,
- 1:31:37Speaker 2: when you know.
- 1:31:38Speaker 3: I thought Devin mccordy had a great tweet last night
- 1:31:41Speaker 3: about that game last night with the Eagles and the Seahawks,
- 1:31:44Speaker 3: and he said, in the two minute when the game
- 1:31:46Speaker 3: is on the line, at the end of the day,
- 1:31:47Speaker 3: it becomes our eleven against your eleven. It's man on man,
- 1:31:51Speaker 3: like your guys versus our guys, and you can talk
- 1:31:53Speaker 3: about all the scheme stuff and all the things that
- 1:31:55Speaker 3: you want. When there's two minutes to go in a
- 1:31:57Speaker 3: playoff game and it's Brock Party, he needs a touchdown
- 1:32:00Speaker 3: to win the game? Is he going to make the
- 1:32:02Speaker 3: drive happen?
- 1:32:03Speaker 2: Okay?
- 1:32:03Speaker 5: And I still have doubts about that, Okay, okay, but
- 1:32:06Speaker 5: we all agree that we really have today today. San
- 1:32:09Speaker 5: Francisco is number one.
- 1:32:10Speaker 4: Yeah, I agree, But also it's not just on Rock
- 1:32:13Speaker 4: Party like he has Deebo, Samuel and just a really
- 1:32:15Speaker 4: great guys around him.
- 1:32:16Speaker 8: So I think ultimately they could get it done.
- 1:32:19Speaker 4: I think they's more experience now than he did obviously
- 1:32:21Speaker 4: when he's thrust out.
- 1:32:22Speaker 3: I mean this year they're they're in a good spot
- 1:32:25Speaker 3: because he got hurt.
- 1:32:26Speaker 5: Last year it failed.
- 1:32:28Speaker 3: No, I'm just saying they're in a good spot because
- 1:32:30Speaker 3: I don't some of the elite quarterbacks are either, you know,
- 1:32:33Speaker 3: Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs are not what they have
- 1:32:36Speaker 3: been in the last couple of years. Joe burrow Is
- 1:32:38Speaker 3: is not going to be in the playoffs, like, I
- 1:32:39Speaker 3: don't know if he's good.
- 1:32:40Speaker 5: You know, he'll get tested though, they'll they'll your scenario,
- 1:32:45Speaker 5: will I hope?
- 1:32:45Speaker 4: So?
- 1:32:47Speaker 5: I think could no somebody like no one ever just
- 1:32:50Speaker 5: blows doors and you know, all the way to the
- 1:32:52Speaker 5: playoffs and never gets tested. They'll they'll get a test,
- 1:32:55Speaker 5: and all.
- 1:32:56Speaker 2: Right, forty nine is one. I say Ravens too, who
- 1:32:58Speaker 2: who disagrees agree with you?
- 1:33:00Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm going on the season and I'm going to
- 1:33:02Speaker 5: say Ravens too. But if he's saying right now today,
- 1:33:05Speaker 5: I'd say Buffalo, but I'll go I'll go Ravens too.
- 1:33:08Speaker 2: Okay, Now you can make the case for Buffalo absolutely
- 1:33:12Speaker 2: because of the way they played.
- 1:33:13Speaker 5: That I think you've got to do it more than
- 1:33:15Speaker 5: a couple of weeks.
- 1:33:16Speaker 8: Yeah, I feel like Buffalo is like recency bias. I
- 1:33:18Speaker 8: feel like they're just.
- 1:33:19Speaker 2: Well, that's what you're going to get. But that's kind
- 1:33:21Speaker 2: of my point with Powering. A lot of it is
- 1:33:23Speaker 2: recency bias.
- 1:33:24Speaker 5: Yeah, you know, but I still have to go off
- 1:33:26Speaker 5: the season like I can't put Carolina like no, I know,
- 1:33:30Speaker 5: you know fifteen because they won Sunday.
- 1:33:32Speaker 3: But Buffalo is one of those teams that we talked
- 1:33:34Speaker 3: about it in the pick show on Thursday that if
- 1:33:37Speaker 3: they get hot and they're playing like they're capable of playing,
- 1:33:39Speaker 3: they're going to blow a team out like they did against.
- 1:33:41Speaker 9: I mean, that's the best remaining duo in AFC. I mean,
- 1:33:44Speaker 9: you don't have you know, Lamar doesn't have Mark Andrews brow.
- 1:33:47Speaker 5: Put in Buffalo three.
- 1:33:48Speaker 2: I am.
- 1:33:49Speaker 3: I am not putting.
- 1:33:50Speaker 6: I'm not quite still, but I love, I love, I
- 1:33:53Speaker 6: love this whole take by you.
- 1:33:54Speaker 5: I think it's a go I still need to see more,
- 1:33:56Speaker 5: but I just look at it as like, you know,
- 1:33:58Speaker 5: they got the Chargers, they got the Patriots, and then
- 1:34:02Speaker 5: you know, I think at the same time, Miami has
- 1:34:04Speaker 5: Dallas in Baltimore, so all Miami would have to do
- 1:34:08Speaker 5: is lose one of those two and it sets up
- 1:34:10Speaker 5: a winner take all for the division. I think they'd
- 1:34:12Speaker 5: both be in the playoffs. But a winner take all
- 1:34:16Speaker 5: for the division in that last game in Miami, that'd
- 1:34:18Speaker 5: be great. That's going to be your Sunday night.
- 1:34:19Speaker 2: So who's three?
- 1:34:21Speaker 6: I mean, this is where it gets interesting.
- 1:34:22Speaker 9: I think, like this is every team after this I
- 1:34:24Speaker 9: feel like has some kind of flaw or some kind
- 1:34:26Speaker 9: of reason why you would say.
- 1:34:27Speaker 8: I don't think you could probably put what Cowboys Eagles.
- 1:34:31Speaker 3: I would put Dallas.
- 1:34:32Speaker 5: I would put Dallas three. That's this is my you.
- 1:34:35Speaker 2: You put Dallas three.
- 1:34:36Speaker 3: I put Dallas three as well.
- 1:34:37Speaker 2: But I think, to Dallas, what do you say?
- 1:34:41Speaker 10: Dallas?
- 1:34:41Speaker 8: I mean, it's it's kind of like a three way tie.
- 1:34:44Speaker 2: I say, Buffalo, what do you say?
- 1:34:45Speaker 6: I'm gonna say Dallas.
- 1:34:46Speaker 2: Okay, So the Cowboys are three.
- 1:34:48Speaker 3: I think you look at them in Miami as two
- 1:34:51Speaker 3: teams that play different at home. If Dallas probably not
- 1:34:56Speaker 3: going to be the number one seed now, so they'll
- 1:34:58Speaker 3: probably have to at least play the Champion Chip game
- 1:35:00Speaker 3: on the road if they make.
- 1:35:01Speaker 5: It that far. And that lost, that lost for the
- 1:35:05Speaker 5: Eagles last night gives them a chance for the division
- 1:35:07Speaker 5: though that they kind of didn't have.
- 1:35:09Speaker 2: So Dallas is three, Who's four?
- 1:35:12Speaker 5: I would say Kansas City.
- 1:35:15Speaker 6: I'd probably I'd go Buffalo here, no to Buffalo, mm hmmm.
- 1:35:22Speaker 3: I think that because of all their injuries, the Dolphins
- 1:35:25Speaker 3: probably can't be in this conversation anymore. But I probably
- 1:35:28Speaker 3: would have a healthy Dolphins.
- 1:35:30Speaker 10: We did.
- 1:35:31Speaker 5: We did that on Sunday for the pregame show. They
- 1:35:34Speaker 5: were inactives, came out.
- 1:35:35Speaker 2: Yeah there is no.
- 1:35:38Speaker 3: And then they blue doors. Right anyways, Uh, I would
- 1:35:42Speaker 3: I would probably put Miami at four. I just think
- 1:35:45Speaker 3: that they're they're a really good team.
- 1:35:47Speaker 6: Okay, chance to prove it too. They can get home field.
- 1:35:50Speaker 5: So my top six were San Francisco, Baltimore, Dallas, Kansas City, Miami, Buffalo.
- 1:35:55Speaker 5: You guys have them in different orders. I don't know, Like,
- 1:35:58Speaker 5: I can't really do you a thing. I can't just
- 1:36:00Speaker 5: do today because Carolina is going to be like nine
- 1:36:03Speaker 5: if I just do today.
- 1:36:04Speaker 2: So two Miami's two, Buffalo's one. Kansas City. Okay, we
- 1:36:08Speaker 2: can only vote on my Miami and Buffalo right now.
- 1:36:11Speaker 2: Of those two bad.
- 1:36:13Speaker 6: I'd go Buffalo right now. But it's I mean, if
- 1:36:15Speaker 6: depending on where the game is.
- 1:36:16Speaker 2: Buffalo can win on the road.
- 1:36:18Speaker 6: They can, they just haven't.
- 1:36:19Speaker 3: I would say, okay, and four they did beat Miami
- 1:36:23Speaker 3: in Buffalo, right, I would say Buffalo for now because
- 1:36:27Speaker 3: I don't Miami didn't beat them last year, Buffalo, remember correctly.
- 1:36:30Speaker 5: I'm not right down. I'm right in mine going Miami
- 1:36:36Speaker 5: a little pole, Yeah, get back up on your San Francisco, Baltimore,
- 1:36:40Speaker 5: Dallas was the top three. Yeah. And then you guys
- 1:36:43Speaker 5: have Buffalo four. Yeah, just just win a game.
- 1:36:46Speaker 3: Then I don't have Buffalo for you. And then Kansas City,
- 1:36:51Speaker 3: Kansas City, I think.
- 1:36:52Speaker 5: Okay, Kansas City or Miami.
- 1:36:53Speaker 3: No Eagles, Kansas City.
- 1:36:55Speaker 5: I don't have the Eagles anywhere near this. Okay, you've
- 1:36:57Speaker 5: watched them lightly all year. Is it Miami or Kansas City? Five?
- 1:37:03Speaker 5: Kansas City or Miami Kansas City, Kansas City, Kansas City
- 1:37:07Speaker 5: over Miami. So now six you have Miami, Detroit, Philadelphia.
- 1:37:12Speaker 3: I'm gonna go Philly here. I still think that they
- 1:37:15Speaker 3: respect the talent some metal.
- 1:37:17Speaker 2: I'm going to Detroit. Whoa, yea, i'd go.
- 1:37:21Speaker 6: I'm with that an go Philly.
- 1:37:22Speaker 3: Detroit defense is kind of stinky Philly.
- 1:37:25Speaker 5: Philly Philly is is six. Yeah, I would Philly would
- 1:37:30Speaker 5: be struggling to get in my top ten. Again he
- 1:37:33Speaker 5: had He's the one who set the parameters. It's today today.
- 1:37:37Speaker 5: They lost three in the Rocks. Like, if we're going
- 1:37:40Speaker 5: on the season, if they go on the season, Philadelphia
- 1:37:43Speaker 5: is absolutely in this mix. But Fritz said, we're not
- 1:37:46Speaker 5: going on the season.
- 1:37:47Speaker 2: But they're teetering a little bit.
- 1:37:48Speaker 5: We're going on.
- 1:37:49Speaker 3: Today's teetering. I mean, you like they didn't actually fired decide,
- 1:37:52Speaker 3: they just like moved him.
- 1:37:54Speaker 5: Like that's weird.
- 1:37:56Speaker 3: Calling the defense. They're panicking.
- 1:38:00Speaker 2: So where are we? Paul seven seven?
- 1:38:04Speaker 5: I still have no Miami.
- 1:38:05Speaker 6: I'm in Miami.
- 1:38:06Speaker 5: No Detroit.
- 1:38:07Speaker 6: Okay, Miami here Tyreek gets healthy.
- 1:38:08Speaker 2: I put Detroit ahead of Miami.
- 1:38:10Speaker 3: But Tamara shocked by that.
- 1:38:13Speaker 6: I have to admit, I really like Detroit's offense.
- 1:38:18Speaker 8: Until two days ago, years ago, two weeks ago.
- 1:38:21Speaker 3: I'm worried about Detroit's defense, and I just I can't
- 1:38:24Speaker 3: trust Jared Goff, Like I just can't do.
- 1:38:26Speaker 9: That's the piece though, I mean, and it's not that different.
- 1:38:28Speaker 9: I feel like from San Francisco, where they you know,
- 1:38:30Speaker 9: they've been stacking draft picks. They've been putting pieces into place,
- 1:38:34Speaker 9: and now you know, if golf doesn't work out, that's going.
- 1:38:36Speaker 6: To be a desirable location for any quarterback to.
- 1:38:38Speaker 3: Go to their defense.
- 1:38:39Speaker 2: Is still okay? So you put Miami there.
- 1:38:41Speaker 5: I put Miami seven Detroit eight because you were the
- 1:38:43Speaker 5: only one that said.
- 1:38:46Speaker 2: Okay, So now now who do we have?
- 1:38:48Speaker 5: We got?
- 1:38:49Speaker 2: We got the Vikings at seven and seven. We've got
- 1:38:54Speaker 2: the Buccaneers at seven and seven. Give me, We've got
- 1:38:56Speaker 2: the Rams at seven and seven.
- 1:39:00Speaker 6: One right there, right there to me are.
- 1:39:02Speaker 3: The only teams that have a chance.
- 1:39:04Speaker 5: Everybody else is just yeah. I would probably argue that
- 1:39:07Speaker 5: you could chop off two of them, but I agree
- 1:39:08Speaker 5: with them, like I don't think it. Maybe maybe the
- 1:39:11Speaker 5: Rams as like one last run with I will say
- 1:39:14Speaker 5: that if like San franc and I saw someone on
- 1:39:17Speaker 5: Twitter said this today, I agreed with it. San Francisco,
- 1:39:21Speaker 5: out of all of these teams, probably doesn't want to
- 1:39:22Speaker 5: see the Rams. San Francisco is way better than the Rams,
- 1:39:25Speaker 5: way better, and they usually own them in the regular season,
- 1:39:29Speaker 5: but they lost to them in the NFC championship games
- 1:39:32Speaker 5: and when they thought they probably had a better team.
- 1:39:34Speaker 5: And I do think the Rams were very competitive. The
- 1:39:38Speaker 5: first time they played San Francisco put it away late, yes,
- 1:39:42Speaker 5: like I remember, and I wouldn't. I wouldn't want to
- 1:39:47Speaker 5: play the Rams if they.
- 1:39:49Speaker 3: You never want to play a divisional opponent.
- 1:39:51Speaker 5: Plus, I think that they're you know, there's a you know,
- 1:39:53Speaker 5: Cooper cup with with Stafford. I think they get in
- 1:39:56Speaker 5: a little bit of a push from from TV guy
- 1:40:00Speaker 5: Karen Williams. I think they're they're coming on a little bit.
- 1:40:05Speaker 5: And it's funny what happens when you're starting quarterback doesn't
- 1:40:08Speaker 5: get hurt and evidently you really weren't in cap jail.
- 1:40:11Speaker 5: It was all because you're starting quarterback got hurt that
- 1:40:14Speaker 5: you went five and twelve.
- 1:40:15Speaker 3: They couldn't possibly spend another dollars.
- 1:40:17Speaker 5: How that was. I could make an argument for the
- 1:40:20Speaker 5: Rams at nine if anybody that's fine.
- 1:40:22Speaker 6: I wouldn't really, I wouldn't put Cleveland in there.
- 1:40:24Speaker 9: But I just I've been impressed with Cleveland's down this year,
- 1:40:27Speaker 9: their quarterback, the way those guys are playing for him.
- 1:40:30Speaker 6: It just it seems like they're a team that is
- 1:40:32Speaker 6: headed in the right direct.
- 1:40:33Speaker 5: Four different quarterbacks of one game, crazy, four different starting quarter.
- 1:40:37Speaker 6: And they got a good vibe of the bottom in
- 1:40:39Speaker 6: other than they're not.
- 1:40:40Speaker 5: In they you talk about injuries, like the whole offensive line,
- 1:40:47Speaker 5: the running back, the quarterback.
- 1:40:49Speaker 6: They still still figuring out.
- 1:40:53Speaker 5: Miles Garrett's playing articulous in.
- 1:40:55Speaker 2: The NFL that have only lost one game on the road,
- 1:41:00Speaker 2: one of them is the Ravens. Do you know who
- 1:41:02Speaker 2: the other team is? No, the Jaguars. Yeah.
- 1:41:07Speaker 3: I was just gonna say the Jaguars are creeping up
- 1:41:10Speaker 3: now around like nine or ten.
- 1:41:11Speaker 5: Ten.
- 1:41:12Speaker 3: I think you still have Trevor Lawrence. You still have
- 1:41:15Speaker 3: a coach that's done it before Jackson, if you.
- 1:41:18Speaker 10: Can stay healthy.
- 1:41:19Speaker 8: I don't, yeah, because now he's in concussion protocol.
- 1:41:21Speaker 6: Yeah, right, that's that's the issue.
- 1:41:23Speaker 2: Yeah, quarterbacks are in concussion protocol. Lasts a little.
- 1:41:27Speaker 6: They just put throw a shield on the watch.
- 1:41:31Speaker 5: Actually, PPJ. Stroud just sat out of the game, and
- 1:41:33Speaker 5: it looks like you might have to set out another
- 1:41:35Speaker 5: Did you see the thing.
- 1:41:35Speaker 9: From the locker room that Pop Douglas said that they
- 1:41:38Speaker 9: asked him if you want to shut it down, and
- 1:41:39Speaker 9: he said, no, we want to come back.
- 1:41:40Speaker 5: Yeah. You know, to your point, I would take it
- 1:41:42Speaker 5: out of your The decision shouldn't be in the players.
- 1:41:45Speaker 2: Hands to Paul's point about you know what if you've
- 1:41:47Speaker 2: done lately and take the whole season. What about the Broncos.
- 1:41:51Speaker 2: Do they get any love for turning the season around
- 1:41:53Speaker 2: like they did? And are they don't know a team
- 1:41:56Speaker 2: to worry about.
- 1:41:58Speaker 9: I just feel like when you got Russell Wilson, it's
- 1:42:00Speaker 9: not in the position you need to be turning the
- 1:42:01Speaker 9: season around.
- 1:42:01Speaker 5: You need to be like we're going, We're going today again?
- 1:42:04Speaker 5: Like how about the Bengals? Yeah, right, Jake Crowning, Yeah,
- 1:42:08Speaker 5: they Well, the Bengals I think are a good example
- 1:42:11Speaker 5: of like when you have a super Bowl caliber roster,
- 1:42:15Speaker 5: as long as the quarterback doesn't lose you.
- 1:42:17Speaker 3: The game, which he certainly tried to less, Yeah, then
- 1:42:20Speaker 3: you're you still are going to be competitive because they're
- 1:42:22Speaker 3: stacked everywhere else.
- 1:42:24Speaker 4: I think that's gonna be interesting to see what happens
- 1:42:26Speaker 4: with him without Jamar Chase, because he's gonna miss a
- 1:42:29Speaker 4: little bit of time, so that's.
- 1:42:30Speaker 3: Gonna be a problem.
- 1:42:31Speaker 5: He was fine without them on Saturday in the fourth
- 1:42:33Speaker 5: quarter when they got twenty one points, but I just
- 1:42:35Speaker 5: think he's throwing punts all over the field and t
- 1:42:37Speaker 5: Higgins's could you see that?
- 1:42:39Speaker 12: I did I did.
- 1:42:40Speaker 5: That was like, that was?
- 1:42:41Speaker 10: That was?
- 1:42:41Speaker 5: And I went right to a viking.
- 1:42:43Speaker 9: I've been a little like skeptical of T Higgins overall,
- 1:42:46Speaker 9: just you know, kind of pushing back on people.
- 1:42:47Speaker 6: But that was a phenomenal play.
- 1:42:49Speaker 3: And then too many contested catches not for me, my boy,
- 1:42:52Speaker 3: Nick Muwens, Yeah what what two horrific quarterback sneaks and
- 1:42:56Speaker 3: overtime in a row?
- 1:42:57Speaker 6: Oh my god, Nick, that's why it didn't look.
- 1:43:00Speaker 5: So I would say, like the eight and six teams
- 1:43:02Speaker 5: in the a f C, I think are all like
- 1:43:05Speaker 5: worthy of discussion. Yeah, I think, And we have and
- 1:43:09Speaker 5: we have a nine and five Browns team too that
- 1:43:12Speaker 5: we haven't.
- 1:43:12Speaker 6: Put on this who's going to be their Browns quarterback?
- 1:43:18Speaker 14: Way?
- 1:43:18Speaker 5: Unless he gets hurt, it's gone. They'll have to go
- 1:43:22Speaker 5: back to D t R.
- 1:43:23Speaker 2: What does this say about the Bengals that they're three
- 1:43:25Speaker 2: and six in the a f C and five and
- 1:43:27Speaker 2: oh in the against NFC opponents catch it by surprise.
- 1:43:32Speaker 5: But is the a f C a better conference right
- 1:43:35Speaker 5: now than the I personally think it's not close.
- 1:43:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:43:38Speaker 3: I think.
- 1:43:39Speaker 5: Now that said, I think San Francisco is the cream.
- 1:43:42Speaker 2: Of the crowd. I don't really only one of them.
- 1:43:44Speaker 5: I really don't think there's anybody close to them.
- 1:43:45Speaker 3: And in terms of talent, yeah, I think we've proved
- 1:43:48Speaker 3: that again with Buffalo blowing doors on Dallas. Like that's
- 1:43:52Speaker 3: supposed to be their second best team in the conference
- 1:43:54Speaker 3: and they can't even hang.
- 1:43:55Speaker 5: So second best team against the eleventh seed in the
- 1:43:58Speaker 5: a f C.
- 1:43:59Speaker 3: Yeah, Yeah, the AFC is a blove by with Russell Wilson.
- 1:44:02Speaker 3: Know I I came away from like watching that offense,
- 1:44:06Speaker 3: like watch them the last couple of weeks, and I
- 1:44:08Speaker 3: kind of think he's not the problem, Like like if
- 1:44:10Speaker 3: there is a problem with that offense, like he's still
- 1:44:13Speaker 3: got some of that Russ Houdini stuff going on, Like
- 1:44:16Speaker 3: he's still getting out of them. He still gets Like
- 1:44:20Speaker 3: Sean Payton's offense is just kind of vanilla, like they
- 1:44:23Speaker 3: don't really do much there.
- 1:44:24Speaker 2: Getting back to this, do you realize that there's only
- 1:44:26Speaker 2: one a f C team that has a losing record
- 1:44:30Speaker 2: against the NFC against five No other team A lot
- 1:44:37Speaker 2: of teams are five hundred, but no other team has
- 1:44:40Speaker 2: a losing record against the n f C in the
- 1:44:43Speaker 2: a f C.
- 1:44:43Speaker 6: Who owns the Patriots?
- 1:44:45Speaker 3: Everybody but Mike's right still make fun of thet is
- 1:44:57Speaker 3: feeling so much that he is.
- 1:44:58Speaker 2: You know what when I their team, one other team
- 1:45:02Speaker 2: has a losing record against the NFC. You know who
- 1:45:05Speaker 2: that is?
- 1:45:06Speaker 5: Jets, No, the Chiefs two and three out. How do
- 1:45:12Speaker 5: you feel?
- 1:45:12Speaker 3: How do you guys feel about the Chiefs? I heard team.
- 1:45:16Speaker 2: I think they're beatable.
- 1:45:18Speaker 5: They're as vulnerable as they've been. I didn't think they
- 1:45:21Speaker 5: were as good last year as they had been, and
- 1:45:24Speaker 5: certainly they have more flaws this year than they did last.
- 1:45:27Speaker 3: I just wonder if this is it's like some of
- 1:45:30Speaker 3: those Patriots teams.
- 1:45:31Speaker 2: Oh, I really screwed up. The Raiders are two and
- 1:45:34Speaker 2: three and the Charges are two and three, so.
- 1:45:38Speaker 8: But still they didn't But at least they have wins against.
- 1:45:42Speaker 5: Yeah, the Chiefs, though, I would say the thing that
- 1:45:46Speaker 5: I would really worry about is I do think their
- 1:45:48Speaker 5: defense is pretty legit and the chances of them falling
- 1:45:53Speaker 5: way behind are small because of that. And if you
- 1:45:57Speaker 5: give him, give him a chance, there's always that you
- 1:46:01Speaker 5: know that one time that Darius Tony actually catches the
- 1:46:04Speaker 5: perfect pass.
- 1:46:05Speaker 3: Or you know, she Rice is starting to come on
- 1:46:07Speaker 3: a little bit and be at least reliable. I just
- 1:46:10Speaker 3: think with their defense though I actually thought that there
- 1:46:13Speaker 3: was I didn't think they covered very well against especially early.
- 1:46:17Speaker 5: In the game. They said they had to switch off
- 1:46:19Speaker 5: because they were getting.
- 1:46:20Speaker 3: Yeah, so I wonder, like how much of their defense
- 1:46:23Speaker 3: is like you know, if that pass rush is not
- 1:46:25Speaker 3: heating up the quarterback constantly like it was doing on Sunday,
- 1:46:28Speaker 3: I think a good quarterback can have that secondary.
- 1:46:31Speaker 5: Most of the great defenses, I think.
- 1:46:33Speaker 2: I think after eleven, the power rankings get very modeled.
- 1:46:36Speaker 2: Who's the worst team in the NFL right now? Really?
- 1:46:41Speaker 5: You don't think by a significant margin that's an awful team.
- 1:46:45Speaker 2: You think they're worse than the Patriots.
- 1:46:47Speaker 9: Oh yeah, well like within this moment or like are
- 1:46:50Speaker 9: they in the worst position of like future promise because
- 1:46:53Speaker 9: they are a team sitting on the first overall draft
- 1:46:55Speaker 9: from last year. I know bray Young hasn't been good,
- 1:46:56Speaker 9: but I mean, I mean it's a different it's.
- 1:46:58Speaker 3: Dark, it was a different be I'd still rather be
- 1:47:02Speaker 3: the Patriots. They don't even have a first round pick.
- 1:47:05Speaker 5: Another thing that I saw, And you guys can correct
- 1:47:07Speaker 5: me if I'm wrong. If I didn't get all this,
- 1:47:09Speaker 5: I'm sure you guys saw a lot like it made
- 1:47:11Speaker 5: the rounds on Twitter on Sunday, how few people were
- 1:47:14Speaker 5: actually in the stands at the Carolina game, like people
- 1:47:18Speaker 5: evidently the weather that we got yesterday was what they
- 1:47:22Speaker 5: that was the weather. No one said that on Twitter.
- 1:47:25Speaker 5: I didn't know that. I didn't know there was like
- 1:47:27Speaker 5: brutally but that the game was nine to seven, like
- 1:47:29Speaker 5: there was no offense in the game. It was a monsoon.
- 1:47:32Speaker 5: I didn't know that. That doesn't that add a little
- 1:47:34Speaker 5: context to it does.
- 1:47:36Speaker 4: And it makes sense to know people are posting the
- 1:47:38Speaker 4: screenshots saying, oh, tickets are forty seven cents or forty
- 1:47:41Speaker 4: five cents, whatever it was. It's like, yeah, because they
- 1:47:43Speaker 4: had a whole month soon happening el.
- 1:47:45Speaker 5: And like yeah, I mean that's a different than just
- 1:47:48Speaker 5: saying because someone but someone had said like there was
- 1:47:51Speaker 5: like five thousand people there. Yeah, literally yea, And I
- 1:47:54Speaker 5: was like, oh my god, I don't think I've ever
- 1:47:55Speaker 5: seen that in an NFL game. But I didn't realize
- 1:47:58Speaker 5: that weather at least played a fact. I mean, it's
- 1:48:01Speaker 5: because it's like if they were eleven and one instead
- 1:48:02Speaker 5: of one and eleven, I'm sure there would have been
- 1:48:04Speaker 5: more people.
- 1:48:06Speaker 9: People aren't coming up. We get it, Like, it's just
- 1:48:07Speaker 9: there's this constant need to like, oh my gosh, they're terrible.
- 1:48:09Speaker 9: Look how bad it is.
- 1:48:10Speaker 8: Could you imagine if we yesterday like we were supposed.
- 1:48:13Speaker 5: To Yeah, yeah, but by the time the game came
- 1:48:18Speaker 5: about last night, him, it.
- 1:48:25Speaker 8: Would have been Buffalo with one past the game.
- 1:48:29Speaker 3: I just thought of all the jabs that they were
- 1:48:30Speaker 3: taking on the Monday night football broadcast last night. Oh,
- 1:48:33Speaker 3: we weren't even supposed to be here. We got flexed
- 1:48:36Speaker 3: like five times.
- 1:48:38Speaker 5: But but I do like the notion that, like, as
- 1:48:40Speaker 5: the week went on last week, and you remember this, Mike,
- 1:48:42Speaker 5: because you know the weather CT Wednesday, Thursday Friday, Like,
- 1:48:48Speaker 5: did the ESPN make it just a day? Like, yeah,
- 1:48:51Speaker 5: they're really ruined the day they took the three and
- 1:48:54Speaker 5: ten Patriots out of prime time and then of course
- 1:48:57Speaker 5: you get a blowout in the Patriots game, and you know,
- 1:49:00Speaker 5: maybe not the greatest game ever last night, but a
- 1:49:02Speaker 5: close game. You know, I'm sure they were really upset
- 1:49:06Speaker 5: that they made that choice.
- 1:49:07Speaker 2: Dan's in New Jersey. What's up?
- 1:49:09Speaker 10: Dan?
- 1:49:11Speaker 4: You just.
- 1:49:13Speaker 22: The Browns and the Lions in your top ten?
- 1:49:16Speaker 2: Both right now?
- 1:49:18Speaker 5: The Lions are at eight, and I would say Cleveland's
- 1:49:20Speaker 5: at twelve.
- 1:49:22Speaker 22: Yeah, but I guess I was just going to point out,
- 1:49:24Speaker 22: you know, it was about fourteen months ago. Then we
- 1:49:27Speaker 22: handledly beat both those teams, and I think it was
- 1:49:29Speaker 22: back to back.
- 1:49:30Speaker 5: Yeah, and with much different teams. You know, it's just
- 1:49:34Speaker 5: ironic things changed much, much different teams.
- 1:49:37Speaker 22: But yeah, I mean, you know, there's I guess there's
- 1:49:41Speaker 22: always a chance we could be top ten the next year.
- 1:49:45Speaker 22: But anyway, Okay, that's not why I called in. I
- 1:49:48Speaker 22: just wanted to digress and not to not talk about
- 1:49:52Speaker 22: the game so much. But I was up the gilad
- 1:49:55Speaker 22: on Sunday, first time ever. You know, I never made it.
- 1:49:59Speaker 22: I was a from seventy four, but I never made
- 1:50:02Speaker 22: it to Gillette. I went to the old stadium a
- 1:50:05Speaker 22: couple of times and it was great. I mean, my
- 1:50:08Speaker 22: wife and I went to the Hall of Fame and
- 1:50:11Speaker 22: the Lighthouse. We had the dinner at Patriots Place and
- 1:50:17Speaker 22: so anyway, the whole experience was great. There was really
- 1:50:20Speaker 22: nothing to remind me of the old stadium except you know,
- 1:50:24Speaker 22: on game day, you know, going there trying to find parking,
- 1:50:29Speaker 22: and that's when the pass sort of catches up to me.
- 1:50:32Speaker 22: You know, I don't mind parking my car in a
- 1:50:33Speaker 22: dirt field, or mingling with the Hoi koloi, or waiting
- 1:50:38Speaker 22: for the stadius you know, to wave us pass through
- 1:50:41Speaker 22: on one or whatever. And I really don't even mind,
- 1:50:44Speaker 22: you know, waiting an hour and a half to get
- 1:50:46Speaker 22: out of the parking lot. But what I can't abide
- 1:50:50Speaker 22: after a loss. I need my party and you know,
- 1:50:53Speaker 22: I need Paul, I need I need Mike. But oh
- 1:50:56Speaker 22: my god, there's no signal on that side one. Oh
- 1:51:01Speaker 22: I can't get the post show.
- 1:51:02Speaker 2: Oh that's say, who's your carrier?
- 1:51:06Speaker 22: Parking situation at better?
- 1:51:08Speaker 2: Who's your carrier?
- 1:51:11Speaker 22: Uh? What's our carrier? Right?
- 1:51:15Speaker 2: That's that's weird because Verizon literally put in five G
- 1:51:18Speaker 2: in the parking sign right there. Yeah, so that's that's
- 1:51:22Speaker 2: that's not good. All right, thanks Dan, I appreciate the call.
- 1:51:25Speaker 2: I'm glad that you had a good experience. Yeah. No,
- 1:51:30Speaker 2: it's nothing to do with Chris Andrew and La says
- 1:51:34Speaker 2: love you mean it, Paul, but please look at the roster.
- 1:51:36Speaker 2: In twenty twenty for the forty nine ers, Samuel played
- 1:51:39Speaker 2: in seven games, Kittle played in eight games. Best receiver
- 1:51:42Speaker 2: was a rookie you could put Matt Jones on that
- 1:51:45Speaker 2: roster today and then have basically the same record. See
- 1:51:48Speaker 2: him ce or Lamar for MVP.
- 1:51:51Speaker 5: Yeah, how are you? How are you disagreeing with me
- 1:51:54Speaker 5: because you like Rock Party? Yeah you think No, I'll
- 1:51:58Speaker 5: just to state my point on I just think that
- 1:52:01Speaker 5: I've seen enough off platform plays from him that I
- 1:52:04Speaker 5: don't think Garoppolo would have made. That's all I'm saying.
- 1:52:07Speaker 5: I think they had a really good team in twenty twenty.
- 1:52:11Speaker 5: I did I say that they stunk now when.
- 1:52:13Speaker 3: Garoppolod and I don't think Brock Purty stinks. He's just
- 1:52:15Speaker 3: not my MVP.
- 1:52:16Speaker 5: Yeah. Oh and by the way, and by the way,
- 1:52:20Speaker 5: he's not top ten m VP on that team. Yeah,
- 1:52:23Speaker 5: that's why I would not even think about calling him
- 1:52:26Speaker 5: the m v P of the league. He's I just
- 1:52:28Speaker 5: think he's better. I just think he's better than you do.
- 1:52:32Speaker 3: He's gonna win MVP of the league.
- 1:52:34Speaker 2: Well, to me, it's it's Lamar, he should be the MVP.
- 1:52:39Speaker 5: It's just funny how you can have totally different things,
- 1:52:41Speaker 5: like to me, it's Tyreek Hill and it's not even close.
- 1:52:44Speaker 5: And I would have your boy McCaffrey too, if I
- 1:52:48Speaker 5: if I was really gun to my head, I think it.
- 1:52:50Speaker 3: Does feel like a year that if there's ever going
- 1:52:52Speaker 3: to be quarterback, it's not a quarterback.
- 1:52:54Speaker 2: This is probably But don't you think, like again, we're
- 1:52:57Speaker 2: gonna get into this, it's we're gonna get this big
- 1:53:00Speaker 2: argument about what an MVP should be. But I mean,
- 1:53:04Speaker 2: Patrick Mahomes should be in the conversation, don't you think No,
- 1:53:06Speaker 2: I mean without.
- 1:53:08Speaker 6: Him, I mean, I get what you're saying.
- 1:53:11Speaker 9: I mean, I don't think it's been good enough, right,
- 1:53:14Speaker 9: It's like you're right, that's I mean, that's my MVP, bro,
- 1:53:16Speaker 9: It's the guy.
- 1:53:17Speaker 6: If you took them out of this team, it would
- 1:53:19Speaker 6: fall apart.
- 1:53:19Speaker 9: And I think that's I And I mean, I guess
- 1:53:21Speaker 9: Miami's winless weekend was kind of proof against what you know,
- 1:53:24Speaker 9: Paul and I believe a Tyreek kill.
- 1:53:26Speaker 6: But I still think that's the model for me. Is
- 1:53:28Speaker 6: the guy who just means the most to his team.
- 1:53:31Speaker 3: Yeah, Patrick mahone is the best player in the league.
- 1:53:33Speaker 3: Whether or not he's had the best season to be
- 1:53:35Speaker 3: the MVP, I don't know, but he's the best player
- 1:53:37Speaker 3: in the league. And nothing that he did on Sunday
- 1:53:40Speaker 3: no and.
- 1:53:40Speaker 5: I know a lot of people will because I hate
- 1:53:43Speaker 5: doing the whole well when that guy played, like suddenly,
- 1:53:46Speaker 5: like Joe Burrow is a game manager because Jake Browning
- 1:53:49Speaker 5: went three and one as a starter, like no, like
- 1:53:51Speaker 5: there's a big difference in the offense. But like Tyreek
- 1:53:54Speaker 5: Hill didn't play on Sunday and offered me the difference.
- 1:53:57Speaker 2: No, you didn't.
- 1:53:58Speaker 5: Actually they won thirty.
- 1:53:59Speaker 2: To oh okay, So then he's the blue Doorish.
- 1:54:02Speaker 5: I don't. I don't think that's how you do it.
- 1:54:05Speaker 5: Like I think you watch and you see just how
- 1:54:07Speaker 5: important this guy is to the team. And I think
- 1:54:11Speaker 5: if you played the whole year without him, you'd see
- 1:54:13Speaker 5: a huge difference.
- 1:54:14Speaker 3: Absolutely.
- 1:54:15Speaker 2: I mean, but that's why I think Jackson should be
- 1:54:17Speaker 2: m v P, because if he took him out, what
- 1:54:19Speaker 2: would they do?
- 1:54:20Speaker 3: No defense?
- 1:54:22Speaker 6: But yeah, especially without andrews Now.
- 1:54:24Speaker 12: I mean that.
- 1:54:26Speaker 5: I love Lamar and Fred knows that, but I just
- 1:54:29Speaker 5: don't think they've been all that impressive offensively.
- 1:54:31Speaker 3: Yeah, he doesn't really have the stats of an m
- 1:54:34Speaker 3: v P.
- 1:54:34Speaker 2: He doesn't, he doesn't, but he you know, the possession,
- 1:54:37Speaker 2: the time of possession, he controls the ball. He makes
- 1:54:40Speaker 2: it so hard for a defense.
- 1:54:43Speaker 3: Yeah, he's going to finish. I think top three or five.
- 1:54:46Speaker 3: I just I think party is going to win because
- 1:54:49Speaker 3: way I think.
- 1:54:50Speaker 2: I don't think it's going to be Coach of the Year.
- 1:54:51Speaker 5: By the way, I would go with Stefan.
- 1:54:54Speaker 3: I think he's a good, good candidate for it. Yeah,
- 1:54:56Speaker 3: what's his name in Indy? Also coached?
- 1:54:59Speaker 5: Well take it?
- 1:55:01Speaker 2: What about Damiko Ryans?
- 1:55:02Speaker 3: He should get he'll win it consideration. I mean, but
- 1:55:05Speaker 3: he's fallen. They've fallen off a little bit, but they
- 1:55:08Speaker 3: have but a.
- 1:55:09Speaker 5: Big win with a backup quarterback the other day.
- 1:55:12Speaker 2: Patriots wouldn't have three wins without Bill Belichick.
- 1:55:15Speaker 10: Honey, all right, Jets.
