- 0:06Speaker 1: I was just thinking to myself, Governor Abbot right in Texas, right,
- 0:11Speaker 1: I saw you and a bunch of men, which thank
- 0:13Speaker 1: you so much, who all posted this thing that said, um,
- 0:18Speaker 1: men should not be controlling women's bodies. And I think
- 0:21Speaker 1: that is just so so so powerful that men are
- 0:25Speaker 1: making that statement. But Governor Abbott is either either he
- 0:29Speaker 1: hates women or he's just dumb. It's one of two things.
- 0:35Speaker 1: It could be both, but you know, no, he's either
- 0:39Speaker 1: either he hates women or he's just dumb. And the
- 0:43Speaker 1: reason why I say that it is because this statement
- 0:46Speaker 1: that he made where he says, I know what we're
- 0:49Speaker 1: gonna do about the rapist. So this is after in
- 0:52Speaker 1: Texas they put all of these provisions around women being
- 0:56Speaker 1: able to get abortions, and in fact, um, I guess
- 1:00Speaker 1: the six weeks. You can't get an abortion after six weeks.
- 1:03Speaker 1: But then I saw that the regulations, the people who
- 1:05Speaker 1: actually regulated and reported are the citizens. So it's it's
- 1:09Speaker 1: pitting you and me against one another that if you
- 1:12Speaker 1: believe I shouldn't get an abortion, or if you know
- 1:15Speaker 1: you heard me say that, I'm nine weeks and I'm
- 1:17Speaker 1: going somewhere to get an abortion, or you learn about
- 1:20Speaker 1: somebody who might be helping folks to go get you know,
- 1:23Speaker 1: the proper care that you can report me and then
- 1:26Speaker 1: I can be fine ten thousand dollars and get in
- 1:29Speaker 1: trouble like whold the hell what are y'all talking about?
- 1:32Speaker 1: It's so it's dangerous, it's ignorant, and it's and it's
- 1:38Speaker 1: white because you need to get hit in your mouth
- 1:42Speaker 1: right talking people business, but anyway, and so it is
- 1:46Speaker 1: it's very dangerous in what they're doing, isn't it isn't
- 1:49Speaker 1: a It is a deliberate attempt to roll back Rovie
- 1:53Speaker 1: Wade and take away women's rights to have abortions. And
- 1:56Speaker 1: this has been something that we knew that Republican specific
- 2:00Speaker 1: quickly we're going to be working on. And that's why
- 2:02Speaker 1: they wanted Kavanaugh to get his seat on the Supreme Court. Um.
- 2:06Speaker 1: And that's what they're doing. Right. The Supreme Court is
- 2:08Speaker 1: already agreeing, unfortunately, with this decision in Texas. So when
- 2:12Speaker 1: the reporters asked Governor Abbott, he's dumb or he's crazy
- 2:20Speaker 1: or something. When they asked this man, what are you
- 2:23Speaker 1: gonna do about rapists, he responded, We're gonna arrest the
- 2:28Speaker 1: rapists basically gonna put a bounty on the rapist's head.
- 2:31Speaker 1: So you're saying that after they rape, you'll arrest him.
- 2:36Speaker 1: So forget about the fact, Like at that point that
- 2:39Speaker 1: I've been raped, I got a baby in my stomach
- 2:42Speaker 1: that I don't want, don't need, too young, whatever, all
- 2:46Speaker 1: the circumstances. That's just attest to the trauma that I'm
- 2:49Speaker 1: not even able to deal with. And so then I'm
- 2:51Speaker 1: just supposed to get to have this baby while you
- 2:56Speaker 1: arrest this rapist possibly. And then by the way, the
- 2:59Speaker 1: laws just so you know, in a lot of ways
- 3:02Speaker 1: do not really protect women the way that they should
- 3:04Speaker 1: or protect, as you said, people who have been raped
- 3:08Speaker 1: in general. So I'm trying to understand that he hate
- 3:11Speaker 1: women or is he stupid? You think he's a little
- 3:16Speaker 1: bit of both, a little bit of both. I just
- 3:17Speaker 1: think to force someone to have a baby, you know,
- 3:22Speaker 1: based on circumstances that are less than fortunate, that are illegal,
- 3:26Speaker 1: that that are traumatizing, you just can't do it. Just
- 3:29Speaker 1: can't all of those things. I mean. But when we talked,
- 3:31Speaker 1: when you said the rape thing, that's just to me,
- 3:33Speaker 1: it's just like stupid, bro, Like, come on, it's not
- 3:38Speaker 1: even funny. It's really just sad because the mind state. Listen,
- 3:42Speaker 1: I'm trying to tell you, the mind state of a
- 3:44Speaker 1: white supremacist is dangerous. You know what I'm saying, Like
- 3:48Speaker 1: something I forgot. I think it was de l Hugely
- 3:50Speaker 1: who said the worst place for a black person to
- 3:53Speaker 1: live is in the mind of a white supremacis you
- 3:57Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. And when you start really looking
- 4:00Speaker 1: at these situations like it's so many, it's so deep.
- 4:04Speaker 1: This situation is just so deep, it goes beyond that.
- 4:07Speaker 1: It's a whole another show we can have. But just
- 4:09Speaker 1: just the dynamics of him just saying we're just gonna
- 4:11Speaker 1: arrest him and just not looking at what the question
- 4:14Speaker 1: actually was saying. And the question was like, what do
- 4:16Speaker 1: you want to do about the people raip these women?
- 4:18Speaker 1: We still got bro, he's talking about something that's not connected.
- 4:24Speaker 1: It's not just arrest rapist, but we're saying that the
- 4:27Speaker 1: woman who now has the baby in her stomach, who
- 4:32Speaker 1: or the or the fetus, the embryo, the embryo, the embryo,
- 4:38Speaker 1: the embryo, right or the feat is you're now carrying
- 4:42Speaker 1: this thing. This life is life, and you are saying
- 4:47Speaker 1: I cannot. I think it's because it's potential. Like, well,
- 4:51Speaker 1: the point is that up until six weeks, what they're
- 4:54Speaker 1: saying is that it's not a life up until six weeks.
- 4:57Speaker 1: Then they're saying after six weeks it becomes life. What
- 5:00Speaker 1: I'm saying is I it's not in the earth in
- 5:04Speaker 1: the world yet, and I can't so and then and then,
- 5:15Speaker 1: you know, I mean, I think about my own abortion story,
- 5:18Speaker 1: and it's like, and there's so many women who are
- 5:20Speaker 1: telling their stories. If I had a baby at the
- 5:23Speaker 1: time that I was pregnant, and by the way, I
- 5:27Speaker 1: was more than six weeks pregnant, and I had to
- 5:29Speaker 1: have a two day procedure where the first day they
- 5:33Speaker 1: go in and they do something that basically makes you
- 5:36Speaker 1: start contracting, and then the next day they go in
- 5:39Speaker 1: and take the baby. I had to go through that
- 5:42Speaker 1: because I was too young to have a baby. First
- 5:46Speaker 1: of all, I didn't even know I was pregnant, because
- 5:47Speaker 1: I don't even know my body. For too long, I
- 5:50Speaker 1: didn't know. I didn't know anything about being pregnant. Then
- 5:52Speaker 1: when I figured out that I was pregnant, I was
- 5:54Speaker 1: too scared to tell someone that I was that I
- 5:57Speaker 1: was pregnant. I don't tell my mother that. So all
- 6:00Speaker 1: of the decision making, trying to get my friends to
- 6:03Speaker 1: help me find a place to go, and everything that
- 6:05Speaker 1: I went through, it took me some time. And then
- 6:07Speaker 1: by the way, I wasn't putting that on my parents
- 6:09Speaker 1: insurance policy because I didn't want them to know. I
- 6:12Speaker 1: didn't know that at that time that they wouldn't know,
- 6:14Speaker 1: but I thought they might have sided to get the
- 6:16Speaker 1: money together to go have an abortion. It was a
- 6:19Speaker 1: lot of stuff that had to happen I had. I
- 6:21Speaker 1: needed time to get it together. And so you know,
- 6:23Speaker 1: there are people with stories, similar stories, and I just
- 6:27Speaker 1: I don't And even if we do decide as women
- 6:29Speaker 1: that we shouldn't be having abortions at a certain time,
- 6:31Speaker 1: it should be our decision to make, and we should
- 6:34Speaker 1: be having those conversations in conjunction with other women leaders
- 6:38Speaker 1: and then deciding what is the best, what's the best
- 6:41Speaker 1: for us for our bodies, and of course keeping in
- 6:44Speaker 1: mind that there is a father, there is a man
- 6:47Speaker 1: who's involved that should be able to have some say so.
- 6:50Speaker 1: But nonetheless, I, as a woman, have to be the
- 6:52Speaker 1: one to bring life. And I just I'm just the
- 6:56Speaker 1: thing that scares me is that then the idiot And
- 6:59Speaker 1: excuse me, I don't know if I'm supposed to call
- 7:01Speaker 1: people idiots, but I said it. But the other one
- 7:03Speaker 1: that either hates women or is dumb and hates black
- 7:05Speaker 1: people and hates poor people and hates everybody is governor
- 7:09Speaker 1: the Santis in Florida. Now he's talking about, Oh yeah,
- 7:13Speaker 1: we're gonna look at the same type of thing here,
- 7:14Speaker 1: and it's going to be everywhere. It's gonna be an Alabama,
- 7:17Speaker 1: It's gonna be everywhere if we don't stop it. So
- 7:20Speaker 1: it's a very very very serious and concerning thing. Um
- 7:24Speaker 1: and and and and and it's scary as hell. And
- 7:29Speaker 1: what's more scary is what women will do as an alternative,
- 7:32Speaker 1: because they ain't gonna have no baby. If they can't
- 7:34Speaker 1: have a baby, that's a fact. We know that because
- 7:38Speaker 1: we remember, yeah, and go watch the movie what is It? Precious?
- 7:43Speaker 1: It's in there.
