- 1:14Speaker 1: Million dollar baby.
- 1:14Speaker 2: Yeah, that's what's up. That's cool.
- 1:17Speaker 1: I thought you just felt very swell. And then I
- 1:19Speaker 1: realized it's just your eyes.

- 1:47Speaker 1: I might activate people. So hopefully you were listening yesterday.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Between now and seven o'clock, that sound could play literally
- 1:55Speaker 1: anywhere in the show. And then you could be a

- 2:56Speaker 1: smiling at me?
- 2:57Speaker 2: Because I have a THTH in my name.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Yes, you do.
- 3:00Speaker 2: C-A-T-H-T-H-I-D-Y.
- 3:02Speaker 1: That's correct. Don't say it out loud. That's rude. Don't.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Don't do it. I just heard you. Stop it. Welcome. Today,
- 3:10Speaker 1: I've got a couple of stories that I worked around
- 3:13Speaker 1: for you.
- 3:14Speaker 2: Okay.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Are you going to share them? I will give you
- 3:16Speaker 1: a little update. So around 20 to 4. Okay, cool.
- 3:18Speaker 1: But it turns out that we have set a new
- 3:21Speaker 1: world record as South Africa for something.
- 3:23Speaker 2: We stay winning.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Yes, we do.
- 3:25Speaker 2: We really do.
- 3:26Speaker 1: We do. And then I have another little thing is
- 3:31Speaker 1: that there are certain Things that people are bringing to
- 3:35Speaker 1: job interviews that have caused a bit of a stir online.
- 3:38Speaker 1: And what else do I have for you? I think
- 3:40Speaker 1: I might have a nice little list for you of
- 3:43Speaker 1: certain things.
- 3:44Speaker 2: We do like a list. Is it going to rage
- 3:46Speaker 2: bait me? No.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Be honest. Well, what we've gathered is a couple of
- 3:52Speaker 1: unbelievable lawsuits that actually did happen. Okay, that's fine. That's
- 3:56Speaker 1: not a rage bait. No, it's not at all. So
- 3:59Speaker 1: you want to hear those. Not now. 30 minutes. That's all.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Give me 30.
- 4:04Speaker 2: You know that you could just tell me in 30 minutes.
- 4:06Speaker 1: I could. I could. I could tell you what songs
- 4:09Speaker 1: are playing. But the thing is, I don't want to
- 4:10Speaker 1: leave you out of our conversation with Cassidy. No ways.
- 4:13Speaker 1: I would like to include you. I do want to
- 4:16Speaker 1: just go into some of the things that people are
- 4:19Speaker 1: doing to make sure that the end of your burnout.
- 4:22Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Because some people are, I can tell people are feeling it.
- 4:24Speaker 1: Have you noticed how people are very irritable? Like their
- 4:28Speaker 1: fuses are very short. Yeah. And that's because burnout is
- 4:32Speaker 1: creeping in. You know, that's that temper change is actually
- 4:36Speaker 1: a sign that your body is getting close to burnout.
- 4:40Speaker 1: So things that don't irritate you normally are now becoming
- 4:43Speaker 1: irritations and triggers. That is a sign of burnout, Cassidy.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Why are you saying my name so loud?
- 4:49Speaker 1: You understand? It just happened. You know what? No, no, no.
- 4:55Speaker 1: Take a break. Take a break.
- 4:57Speaker 2: He just turned my mic off.
- 4:59Speaker 1: Take a break.
- 5:00Speaker 2: You would also get irritated.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Let me put this music on for you.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Be honest. You'd get irritated if someone just turned your
- 5:06Speaker 2: mic off.
- 5:07Speaker 1: I told you something. All right, we're going to do
- 5:09Speaker 1: a nice relaxing. Tell you what, stress relief. I've got
- 5:12Speaker 1: this on Spotify.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh. Now he's going to play de-stress music.
- 5:16Speaker 2: That's not what I need. Okay.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Cassidy. Carl. You're getting irritable.
- 5:23Speaker 2: Because you turned my mic off.
- 5:25Speaker 1: I only did that post. I saw that there was
- 5:29Speaker 1: a trigger. Now, I want you to focus on my
- 5:31Speaker 1: voice very quickly. And I want you to know that.
- 5:33Speaker 2: It's the fact that you're playing it through your phone.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Burnout. I don't see how this is any different to
- 5:39Speaker 1: any standard Metrorail train. Or MyCity or Golden Arrow bus.
- 5:45Speaker 2: I'm locked in. I'm locked in. Okay, talk.
- 5:47Speaker 1: So, you may be approaching burnout. And I understand. You've
- 5:53Speaker 1: been very busy this year. You've had a couple of milestones.
- 5:57Speaker 2: That's true.
- 5:58Speaker 1: But I want you to know that it's going to
- 5:59Speaker 1: be okay. Alright?
- 6:02Speaker 2: Promise.
- 6:03Speaker 1: I promise it's going to be fine.
- 6:04Speaker 4: Perfect.
- 6:06Speaker 1: There are things that people have done to avoid a burnout.
- 6:10Speaker 1: One of them is taking a break and listening to
- 6:12Speaker 1: this music.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Okay, but just don't turn that mic off.
- 6:15Speaker 1: I would never unless I needed to. That was one
- 6:19Speaker 1: of those moments when, you know when you have to
- 6:21Speaker 1: break the glass to get to the fire alarm button?
- 6:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:25Speaker 1: I broke the glass. That's crazy. Are you feeling extinguished?
- 6:29Speaker 1: Are you feeling okay?
- 6:33Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess.
- 6:33Speaker 1: That's good to hear. Look at how your voice changed.
- 6:36Speaker 1: You're welcome. I'm really good at this.
- 6:39Speaker 4: No.
- 6:40Speaker 2: What? Don't you welcome me. I did that on my own.
- 6:44Speaker 2: I got you. I drove this ship.
- 6:48Speaker 1: So now you know what people are doing.
- 6:51Speaker 4: All right.
- 6:52Speaker 1: You know, there are a couple of other things that
- 6:53Speaker 1: people are doing to avoid burnout. And I wanted to
- 6:56Speaker 1: share them. So obviously I told you about that thing.
- 6:59Speaker 1: Take a moment, put on some music, take a breather.
- 7:01Speaker 2: Okay.
- 7:02Speaker 1: So there's something called a bio break where you can
- 7:04Speaker 1: completely unplug and take yourself off all electronic sources, including phone, TV, everything,
- 7:12Speaker 1: and try and be in nature. Listen to the wind
- 7:15Speaker 1: flowing through leaves. Listen to the natural sounds. That's very important.
- 7:20Speaker 1: That's a bio break is important. People have been opting
- 7:23Speaker 1: out of festive pressure. Saying no to 80% of social
- 7:27Speaker 1: gatherings to retain their energy is something that people are
- 7:31Speaker 1: doing at this time because there are a lot of
- 7:32Speaker 1: invites going around to everywhere. All right. And then this
- 7:38Speaker 1: is probably the coolest one. Exploit the resources available to you.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Do you know that on your emails and even on
- 7:47Speaker 1: your WhatsApp, you can trigger instant replies?
- 7:50Speaker 5: Yes.
- 7:51Speaker 1: And automated replies. People are using that more often so
- 7:54Speaker 1: they don't have to field all the incoming. That's already
- 7:59Speaker 1: been taken care of. Thanks for your email. Cassidy, we'll
- 8:02Speaker 1: get back to you shortly. Thanks for your WhatsApp. I
- 8:04Speaker 1: will get back to you as soon as possible. So
- 8:06Speaker 1: that when you are ready, and there's no urgency when
- 8:09Speaker 1: you hear a notification. So when you are ready, you
- 8:11Speaker 1: can attend to that. That's an idea. Okay.
- 8:15Speaker 2: I mean, I don't necessarily agree with the last one,
- 8:17Speaker 2: but I do like that that's an option.
- 8:19Speaker 1: The auto replies?
- 8:20Speaker 4: Yeah, because why do you feel like someone has to
- 8:23Speaker 4: respond to you?
- 8:24Speaker 2: They don't.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Okay.
- 8:27Speaker 2: That's me taking a moment. Do you know what I mean?
- 8:29Speaker 4: I don't have to respond just because you've sent me
- 8:31Speaker 4: a message now.
- 8:32Speaker 2: But I'm saying I understand that there are.
- 8:33Speaker 4: Other people that believe that it's really important to just
- 8:37Speaker 4: acknowledge the message and then say, hey, I'll respond when
- 8:39Speaker 4: I have the capacity.
- 8:41Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 8:41Speaker 2: Me, I'll just respond when I have the capacity.
- 8:44Speaker 1: Done.
- 8:44Speaker 4: Done.
- 8:45Speaker 1: So blue tick and respond.
- 8:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:47Speaker 1: Yes.
- 8:48Speaker 2: I turned my red receipts off. So gray tick and respond. Yes.
- 8:53Speaker 1: People like that. You don't. I'm very honest and authentic.
- 8:56Speaker 1: I'll blue tick you and own it. Okay.
- 8:59Speaker 4: Yeah. But now you don't have to have that pressure.
- 9:01Speaker 4: I also didn't want, I didn't want the pressure. I
- 9:03Speaker 4: took it off of myself.
- 9:04Speaker 2: I didn't want to have to see who was blue
- 9:06Speaker 2: ticking me.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Okay.
- 9:07Speaker 4: So now I just, you know, when I want to
- 9:09Speaker 4: respond to you, I respond.
- 9:10Speaker 1: I'm so worried about me turning that off because then
- 9:13Speaker 1: Beatrice will really think that something's going on.
- 9:15Speaker 2: Oh, he gets upset with me all the time.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Yeah. He's just like, I'm going to keep my blue
- 9:20Speaker 1: ticks on. It's fine. I'm going to keep mine off Beatrice.
- 9:23Speaker 1: It's nothing personal. So now we're giving you some ideas
- 9:26Speaker 1: to how we are managing the end of your burnout.
- 9:28Speaker 1: And now it's your turn. So please go for it.
- 9:30Speaker 1: Give us a good idea. And remember, today I'm looking
- 9:32Speaker 1: for unique ideas. Bless you for saying I do a
- 9:36Speaker 1: face mask every Sunday. I get you. I know you're
- 9:39Speaker 1: trying to connect to the clicks. And also, I'll be
- 9:42Speaker 1: honest with you, and I know this sounds like a
- 9:44Speaker 1: massive call out, but I can tell when you use
- 9:45Speaker 1: AI to enter competitions on KF94. 5. So the thing is,
- 9:49Speaker 1: I just want to hear your story. I want to
- 9:50Speaker 1: hear how you do it. If it's something unique and great,
- 9:52Speaker 1: I want to give you a two and a half
- 9:53Speaker 1: thousand rand. ClicksClub got cash back because I care about you,
- 9:56Speaker 1: the human being connecting with me. So 082-945-0940. Clicks is
- 10:02Speaker 1: the keyword and I want your name and your ID
- 10:04Speaker 1: number and you could be a winner.
- 10:05Speaker 2: You know what that was?
- 10:06Speaker 1: What's that?
- 10:08Speaker 4: That was the blue tick of AI commentary. He was
- 10:11Speaker 4: just like, I acknowledge this, but we're going to move on.
- 10:13Speaker 1: That's right.
- 10:14Speaker 2: That's exactly what that was.
- 10:16Speaker 1: Because I can smell it from a mile away. Like
- 10:18Speaker 1: Cassidy can smell an incident on the roads, and then
- 10:21Speaker 1: she will just report it to you now.
- 10:23Speaker 2: It's all about that winning feeling.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Because you could be winning 2,500 grand. 2,500 grand.
- 10:31Speaker 2: In Klik's Club Card Cash Bag. So you can feel good.
- 10:35Speaker 6: And pay less.
- 10:36Speaker 2: On KFM 94.5.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Hello, Chelsea.
- 10:41Speaker 6: Hi, Carl. Hi, Cassidy.
- 10:42Speaker 2: Hello, hello.
- 10:43Speaker 1: So Cassidy and I had a lovely conversation about how
- 10:45Speaker 1: we're avoiding burnout. We had a couple of ideas over there.
- 10:48Speaker 1: I know we've shared a bunch of them, but how
- 10:51Speaker 1: are you going to avoid it this time of the year?
- 10:52Speaker 1: It's the 20th of October. What is the secret?
- 10:56Speaker 6: So my secret is I've recently discovered diamond painting. So
- 11:00Speaker 6: basically similar to the whole paint by numbers thing where
- 11:03Speaker 6: you sort of Match a diamond or like bedazzled color
- 11:06Speaker 6: to a coated canvas.
- 11:08Speaker 1: <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> <HAL> Wait, what?
- 11:14Speaker 1: What's a diamond?
- 11:15Speaker 6: Diamond painting.
- 11:18Speaker 1: Amen. Stop it. You have... Stop it.
- 11:22Speaker 6: How pretty.
- 11:25Speaker 4: Stop.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Why would you do.
- 11:28Speaker 2: This to me?
- 11:29Speaker 6: It's like coloring in, but for adults.
- 11:33Speaker 1: Supposed to oh my word this is so cool and
- 11:39Speaker 1: who introduced this to you this is so cool.
- 11:43Speaker 6: Um so me and my boyfriend were actually shopping in
- 11:45Speaker 6: chinatown one day yeah and we sort of just found
- 11:48Speaker 6: this thing to like do as a couple um and
- 11:52Speaker 6: then i ended up buying another one to do on
- 11:54Speaker 6: my own and now my mom does it He does it,
- 11:57Speaker 6: my auntie does it, my granny does it, everyone I
- 12:00Speaker 6: know does it.
- 12:00Speaker 1: So tell me about the, do you use actual paint?
- 12:03Speaker 1: Do you use like some of the, are there different applications,
- 12:06Speaker 1: like things you can use to do this, to fit
- 12:08Speaker 1: it in?
- 12:11Speaker 6: So you get like different tools for this, but most
- 12:14Speaker 6: of it is just you like pick up a single
- 12:16Speaker 6: little like bedazzle and then you like match it to
- 12:19Speaker 6: the color on the square. So there'll be like a
- 12:22Speaker 6: square that's called A17 and then you know like what
- 12:26Speaker 6: color I have goosebumps.
- 12:28Speaker 1: I have goosebumps. Yes, please. Do you know what? It's weird.
- 12:31Speaker 1: I feel calmer already and I'm going to find this.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Like I'm going to, I'm going to grab it. I'm
- 12:35Speaker 1: finding it. I'll let you know how it goes. You
- 12:37Speaker 1: know what? Just for your troubles, a two and a
- 12:38Speaker 1: half thousand cashback. You deserve it. It's all yours. Take it.
- 12:42Speaker 1: Take it. Take the money. I'm so happy that you've
- 12:47Speaker 1: just ignited this in the mind. Because the thing is,
- 12:50Speaker 1: I love a crossword. Like, that's my jam. I love
- 12:53Speaker 1: a Sudoku. I love that too. But if I can
- 12:56Speaker 1: pick up something creative like this as well, I am in.
- 12:59Speaker 1: All the way in. Thank you.
- 13:01Speaker 6: And of course, you can hang it up at the end.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Yeah, of course. You can do that. Or you can
- 13:06Speaker 1: just leave it in the garage with the other stuff
- 13:08Speaker 1: that you've picked up recently. Thank you. There's a good
- 13:10Speaker 1: idea as well. Thanks so much for sharing. I appreciate you, Chelsea.
- 13:13Speaker 1: Enjoy your two and a half thousand rand Clix Club
- 13:15Speaker 1: card cashback. There's a way to just calm your farm

- 14:02Speaker 1: I was telling you about, Cassidy? What were those updates?
- 14:05Speaker 1: What was the world record that we broke? That's why
- 14:08Speaker 1: I've been working so hard while you were working today.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Welcome to The Flash Drive. I'm Carl Wastey. This is
- 14:12Speaker 1: Cassidy Jade Nicholson. Let's have a quick chat on a
- 14:15Speaker 1: couple of things. South Africa has reportedly set a new
- 14:18Speaker 1: world record with Transnet's freight rail successfully operating A 7.6
- 14:26Speaker 1: kilometer long train made up of 696 wagons. I know
- 14:33Speaker 1: what you're thinking. Was it on time? Stop focusing on
- 14:36Speaker 1: the negatives. Focus on the positives.
- 14:41Speaker 2: You know what? I wasn't thinking that, but I am now.
- 14:45Speaker 2: I am now.
- 14:46Speaker 1: Sorry, man. The train traveled 861 kilometers from Saldana, just
- 14:50Speaker 1: north of Cape Town, to the Isaiasian iron ore mining area.
- 14:54Speaker 1: in Northern Cape during a test run on 17 and
- 14:58Speaker 1: 18 October. So well done. We have the longest operating
- 15:02Speaker 1: train as a record. Australia came close with 682 wagons.
- 15:06Speaker 1: We had 696 wagons. So well done. Look at us.
- 15:10Speaker 1: Even when it comes to train, we are the booker
- 15:13Speaker 1: of trains. That's it. There we go. Well done to us.
- 15:20Speaker 1: What else do I have for you? Well, an online
- 15:23Speaker 1: debate has erupted, and you and I can debate this
- 15:26Speaker 1: as well, over whether bringing an iced coffee to a
- 15:30Speaker 1: job interview makes you look unprofessional. A recruiter with 16
- 15:36Speaker 1: years of experience argues that arriving with a drink can
- 15:39Speaker 1: make the interview seem like just another casual stop in
- 15:41Speaker 1: your day rather than an important professional meeting. Gen Z
- 15:45Speaker 1: isn't convinced. Some argue that employers should be more concerned
- 15:48Speaker 1: about your skills and personality than what you're drinking that day.
- 15:50Speaker 1: And remember, we told you about a few things that
- 15:54Speaker 1: we've noticed Gen Z are bringing their parents to job
- 15:56Speaker 1: interviews now.
- 15:56Speaker 4: Yeah, so of course they wouldn't think anything of bringing
- 15:59Speaker 4: an iced drink.
- 16:01Speaker 2: I'd say don't bring anything in. Also, if you're chewing gum,
- 16:04Speaker 2: spit it out.
- 16:05Speaker 1: I think that some of those traditional values just means
- 16:08Speaker 1: that you've updated on a few things. Like, for instance,
- 16:11Speaker 1: when you're in an interview... I think it's important to
- 16:15Speaker 1: make sure that the interviewer offers you a seat first.
- 16:19Speaker 1: Because I know a lot of people just walk in
- 16:20Speaker 1: there and it's like, long time. Okay, cool. What's up? Yeah,
- 16:24Speaker 1: the job. I don't have experience, but I need the money.
- 16:27Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 16:28Speaker 1: That's kind of like what's happening these days. I mean,
- 16:30Speaker 1: there are little nuances that show that you've prepared for
- 16:36Speaker 1: the interview that the interviewer can see. And maybe that's
- 16:39Speaker 1: not how Gen Z or anybody operates traditionally and in
- 16:42Speaker 1: a social circumstance, in a more casual environment when you've
- 16:45Speaker 1: landed the job. But I think coming to an interview
- 16:47Speaker 1: where you've done some research on some of the traditional
- 16:51Speaker 1: skill sets that really are good with an interviewer, I
- 16:54Speaker 1: think that's quite important. And one of them may be, yes,
- 16:57Speaker 1: not bringing in something to eat or to drink. Just
- 17:00Speaker 1: get ready.
- 17:01Speaker 2: Can I also just say, in the world of.
- 17:04Speaker 4: Like, inconveniences and iced coffee of all drinks like the
- 17:10Speaker 4: drink is gonna get wet it's gonna leave a like
- 17:13Speaker 4: stain on that person's day how embarrassing for your soul
- 17:17Speaker 4: yeah now you must sit here and you must be
- 17:19Speaker 4: concerned that it doesn't drip onto any important documents on
- 17:22Speaker 4: it like you know if you are going to be
- 17:24Speaker 4: a little bit unprofessional at least bring a bring a
- 17:26Speaker 4: better drink.
- 17:28Speaker 1: Yeah instead of ice latte.
- 17:30Speaker 2: All the drinks you want to be unprofessional with, you
- 17:32Speaker 2: want to bring an iced latte.
- 17:33Speaker 1: Yeah, I feel like if you bring in a double espresso.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Bring in an energy. An energy? What do you mean?
- 17:40Speaker 2: I just came from the gym. I'm here. I'm here
- 17:42Speaker 2: to talk.
- 17:42Speaker 1: You know what?
- 17:43Speaker 2: I got the energy.
- 17:44Speaker 1: What's that in your hand, Carl? It's my bashoos. I'm
- 17:47Speaker 1: just having a little bit of a sip. Hold on. Anyway,
- 17:50Speaker 1: you were saying about my weaknesses? Nothing. Oh, my gosh. Anyway,
- 17:55Speaker 1: why are you asking about my weaknesses? I mean, why
- 17:56Speaker 1: are you focusing on my flaws? That's not cool.
- 17:58Speaker 2: Focus on my strengths.
- 17:59Speaker 1: Yeah. I have so many of those. Like, I came
- 18:02Speaker 1: here today. Hello.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Right?
- 18:05Speaker 1: I could have stayed home, but I'm at the interview. So, like,
- 18:08Speaker 1: clearly I'm a hard worker, right? Yeah, exactly. So, hi, Amy.
- 18:12Speaker 2: And I took an Uber.
- 18:14Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 18:15Speaker 2: So, I paid to be here.
- 18:16Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 18:17Speaker 2: Shows how much I care, right? You know what I mean?
- 18:20Speaker 1: Come on now. I could have been gaming so hard
- 18:22Speaker 1: right now.
- 18:23Speaker 2: I could have been earning money.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:25Speaker 2: But instead, I'm here for you. I'm showing you how
- 18:27Speaker 2: much I'm willing to sacrifice for this job.
- 18:29Speaker 1: And Chiki, how many followers do you have? Sorry?
- 18:31Speaker 4: Oh, really?
- 18:32Speaker 1: I have tripled the amount. So that got us there
- 18:35Speaker 1: for something, right? Sorry, man. We went overboard there with
- 18:41Speaker 1: the iced coffee debate. But traditionally, I don't think you
- 18:44Speaker 1: should be walking in with anything, man.
- 18:46Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 18:46Speaker 4: I think just, I mean, if you have like a
- 18:48Speaker 4: little bag or whatever and it's got your CV in
- 18:50Speaker 4: it or it's got extra documents, that's fine.
- 18:53Speaker 2: But don't bring extra things.
- 18:55Speaker 1: Don't pull out like half a Gatsby at your interview. Okay,
- 18:57Speaker 1: maybe bring out half a Gatsby. Do you want a sticky? See,
- 19:03Speaker 1: I share. It's a skill.
- 19:06Speaker 2: Imagine.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Imagine. Oh, dear.
- 19:08Speaker 4: Yeah, just have it be you and whatever documents or
- 19:11Speaker 4: whatever information you need.
- 19:13Speaker 1: Talking about iced coffee, I got those lawsuits. That sound
- 19:16Speaker 1: made up or that true?
- 19:17Speaker 2: Okay.
- 19:18Speaker 1: There was a lawsuit that happened. Starbucks ice. A woman
- 19:22Speaker 1: sued Starbucks for $ 5 million claiming her iced drinks contained
- 19:26Speaker 1: too much ice.
- 19:27Speaker 2: And too little drink.
- 19:28Speaker 1: And not enough liquid in it. Exactly. And that's a
- 19:30Speaker 1: real case that actually went to court, by the way.
- 19:33Speaker 1: I agree with her. There is the Burger King Whopper story.
- 19:36Speaker 1: 19 people sued Burger King claiming Whoppers looked 35% bigger
- 19:40Speaker 1: in advertisements than in real life. The case was dismissed
- 19:43Speaker 1: this year in January. So it's a real case. There
- 19:47Speaker 1: was a couple of others. The Subway, you know that brand? Yeah.
- 19:50Speaker 1: The footlong, customer sued Subway because some footlong sandwiches measured
- 19:54Speaker 1: only 11 inches.
- 19:55Speaker 2: You know what?
- 19:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:58Speaker 2: Okay, I agree with you.
- 19:59Speaker 1: I'll sue also. The judge's missing trousers. A judge sued
- 20:03Speaker 1: his dry cleaner for $ 54 million over a lost pair
- 20:06Speaker 1: of trousers. He lost the case and was ordered to
- 20:08Speaker 1: pay court costs. Red Bull and the missing wings. Red
- 20:11Speaker 1: Bull paid $ 13 million to settle a class action case
- 20:15Speaker 1: in 2014 over advertising claims. Customers could claim $ 10 in
- 20:19Speaker 1: cash or $ 15 in Red Bull products. The company denied wrongdoing.
- 20:24Speaker 2: I do remember this case.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Someone did send it to me.
- 20:27Speaker 4: They sued Red Bull because it did not give them
- 20:29Speaker 4: wings and they said it was a false claim.
- 20:31Speaker 1: That's it.
- 20:31Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 20:31Speaker 1: Because when they say Red Bull gives you wings. Yeah.
- 20:34Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 20:34Speaker 1: But there are actually T's and C's if you look
- 20:37Speaker 1: at the bottom of the ads now.
- 20:38Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 20:38Speaker 1: There's a little asterisk there. Yeah. And then the last
- 20:41Speaker 1: one is a prisoner named Robert Lee Brock sued himself
- 20:45Speaker 1: for $ 5 million arguing that he had violated his own
- 20:48Speaker 1: religious beliefs and civil rights. A judge called the case
- 20:52Speaker 1: completely ludicrous. What would you sue yourself for?
- 20:58Speaker 2: This is like asking me what my strengths and weaknesses are.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Come on. Take your iced coffee and tell me what
- 21:03Speaker 1: you'd sue yourself for.
- 21:05Speaker 2: I left the gym last night in my pajamas.
- 21:07Speaker 1: There she is. There she is. The same woman who
- 21:10Speaker 1: doesn't like people having no shoes on at a petrol station.
- 21:14Speaker 1: The same woman.
- 21:16Speaker 2: I will still sue you.
- 21:16Speaker 1: All this hypocrisy soaks me and it feels like the
- 21:20Speaker 1: media immediately.
- 21:21Speaker 4: I left the gym at 9.30 p.m. It takes me
- 21:25Speaker 4: half an hour to drive home. I wanted to roll
- 21:28Speaker 4: out of the car into bed and fall asleep.
- 21:31Speaker 2: So is it so bad?
- 21:32Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 21:33Speaker 2: Nobody saw me.
- 21:34Speaker 1: It doesn't matter.
- 21:35Speaker 2: The gym was closing. That's why I left.
- 21:38Speaker 4: If I see your toes at a petrol station, I
- 21:40Speaker 4: am just concerned for you and your health.
- 21:44Speaker 1: So you'd sue yourself for the pajama thing. That's very good.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Sue myself for the pajama thing and sue you for
- 21:49Speaker 2: being barefoot.
- 21:51Speaker 1: What?
- 21:52Speaker 4: It's just in like a public place, really?
- 21:55Speaker 1: Put that away. Okay, but I'm glad you mentioned that.
- 21:57Speaker 1: I'm glad that came out of our off-air conversations and
- 21:59Speaker 1: finally landed its way onto the show. It's great. We
- 22:02Speaker 1: share everything with you. Thank you so much for being
- 22:05Speaker 1: a part of the mix.
- 22:05Speaker 2: Anything for you? Yeah.
- 22:08Speaker 1: Anything.
- 22:08Speaker 2: No, I mean.
- 22:13Speaker 2: I was asking what you'd sue yourself for.
- 22:16Speaker 1: And you're like, yeah, anything.
- 22:20Speaker 2: This guy.
- 22:20Speaker 1: I'd sue myself for collecting self-help books. That's true. And
- 22:24Speaker 1: reading like 5% of them. Like, I think that's my issue.
- 22:30Speaker 2: All book, no read.
- 22:31Speaker 1: Like, I got a lot of books, self-help books, like
- 22:33Speaker 1: really cool ones. Mo Gordat's book, Unstressable is the recent
- 22:38Speaker 1: purchase that I made. I haven't read a single page yet.
- 22:41Speaker 2: You need a self-help book, how to get through those
- 22:43Speaker 2: self-help books.
- 22:43Speaker 1: Exactly. That's what I need. So I think I'd sue
- 22:46Speaker 1: myself for that. Ridiculous. Why? You owe yourself the money back. Carl,
- 22:50Speaker 1: what the hell is wrong with you? Damages, that's what
- 22:53Speaker 1: they are. But I blame crosswords because sometimes a crossword
- 22:56Speaker 1: takes my reading time. That's what I'd sue myself for.
- 22:59Speaker 1: Straight up. Also, I've got a really nice book. Sorry, man.
- 23:02Speaker 1: This is very exciting. I can't wait to get into it.
- 23:04Speaker 1: It's called Happy Money.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Happy Money. Please. In this economy.
- 23:09Speaker 1: Yeah. We need that book. We do.
- 23:11Speaker 4: Okay.
- 23:12Speaker 1: Yes. I mean, I'd recommend that one. So, Unstressable and
- 23:16Speaker 1: Happy Money. You're welcome for the recommendations. That's fine. That's
- 23:19Speaker 1: for free. this one's called fighter it's the flash drive
- 23:33Speaker 1: kfm 94.5 thank you so much for being here my
- 23:35Speaker 1: name is carl wastey this is cassidy jade nicholson in
- 23:38Speaker 1: the next few moments we want to guess your age.
- 23:42Speaker 2: But for now, we're not going to guess anything.
- 23:44Speaker 4: Just going to tell you that on the N2 inbound
- 23:46Speaker 4: on Solari's Pass before the lookout point, a truck broke
- 23:49Speaker 4: down in the left lane. Traffic lights faulty in Kales
- 23:51Speaker 4: River at Neuensfontein Road and Selenbosch Arterial, as well as
- 23:55Speaker 4: in lands down at Lawson Road and Jansmuts. Nalsa Mandela
- 23:58Speaker 4: Boulevard outbound, usual peak traffic from Rudderbloom Road. The N1
- 24:02Speaker 4: outbound traffic slow moves between the foreshore and Belleville. And
- 24:05Speaker 4: the N2 outbound is congested between Mowbray Main and Bunga Avenue.
- 24:10Speaker 2: My name is Cassidy Nicholson.
- 24:11Speaker 4: If I've missed something or you have heard something, seen something,
- 24:15Speaker 4: let me know on the WhatsApp line. That's 082-945-0940. Here
- 24:20Speaker 4: we go.
- 24:21Speaker 1: Let's guess somebody's age. Hello, Tamron.
- 24:24Speaker 3: Hello, how are you?
- 24:25Speaker 1: Fantastic. Right, Tamron, we need to guess... Your age. Dun, dun, dun.
- 24:31Speaker 1: So let's hope we get a, I mean, we've been
- 24:33Speaker 1: getting close-ish, right? We didn't do too badly.
- 24:36Speaker 2: I've been getting close-ish. You got it on the mark.
- 24:39Speaker 1: Only once. Only once. Okay. But you're only as good
- 24:42Speaker 1: as your last guess. Oh, that is true. And that
- 24:43Speaker 1: wasn't good. So I'm going to make it, it's going
- 24:46Speaker 1: to have to be good. We have some questions. Answer
- 24:49Speaker 1: as honestly as you can. We're going to try and
- 24:51Speaker 1: sort of zone in. That's all. Okay. So can I
- 24:55Speaker 1: start with the first question? Can I? Okay. Great stuff.
- 25:01Speaker 1: Who sings this song? Do you know who sings it?
- 25:09Speaker 3: I don't know the band's name.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Okay. No, no, no, no, no, no. That's fine. But
- 25:19Speaker 1: you know, at least you know the song, right? You know,
- 25:21Speaker 1: that's fine. I think that's good enough that you know
- 25:24Speaker 1: that song, which is a good sign. Moving on to
- 25:26Speaker 1: your question, Cassidy.
- 25:27Speaker 2: Finish the phrase. Delulu is?
- 25:34Speaker 3: Delunio?
- 25:36Speaker 2: Did you say Delulu is Delunio?
- 25:39Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:40Speaker 1: Okay. Okay, that's fine. No, no, no. We can lock
- 25:42Speaker 1: it in. Lock it in. Can we lock it in?
- 25:44Speaker 1: It's good.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Lock it in. Yeah, locked in.
- 25:45Speaker 1: All right. Can I ask you this? Have you ever
- 25:49Speaker 1: played with a goon? A what? A goon. A goon. Goon.
- 25:56Speaker 2: No.
- 25:57Speaker 1: Never? Cool. Thanks.
- 25:58Speaker 2: No, never.
- 25:59Speaker 1: Appreciate it. Thank you. Yeah?
- 26:04Speaker 2: What does Scott Scott mean to you?
- 26:08Speaker 3: Scott Scott. Yeah. Is it someone's name?
- 26:15Speaker 1: What is it? Does it mean anything to you, Scott Scott? Okay, cool. No.
- 26:18Speaker 1: All right. No, no, no, no. Don't worry. Can you
- 26:20Speaker 1: complete the phrase for me, please? All right. Okay, so essentially...
- 26:26Speaker 1: This is what happened within the advertisement. It's, uh, don't
- 26:30Speaker 1: push me. Push A.
- 26:35Speaker 3: Don't push me. Push A. Uh, Charlie.
- 26:42Speaker 1: Okay, cool. Thank you. No, no, no, no, no, no.
- 26:44Speaker 1: Thank you. This is why, okay, by the way, there
- 26:47Speaker 1: are no wrong or right answers. I just want to
- 26:48Speaker 1: make sure you know that. So don't worry. If you
- 26:50Speaker 1: don't know, it means you give us a better way
- 26:52Speaker 1: of finding out how old you are. So this is
- 26:55Speaker 1: very good.
- 26:56Speaker 2: Yeah. What is limewire?
- 27:02Speaker 3: Limewire?
- 27:03Speaker 2: Yes.
- 27:08Speaker 3: A type of fencing?
- 27:10Speaker 2: A type of fencing. Okay.
- 27:12Speaker 1: Great stuff. All right.
- 27:13Speaker 3: Like chicken wire.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Yeah. Definitely. Definitely. This is, this is, this is good.
- 27:19Speaker 1: It's good. All right. Okay. So this is, I mean, let's,
- 27:23Speaker 1: I think this is, I'm going to ask it anyway,
- 27:28Speaker 1: but do you know what the, what the motto is
- 27:32Speaker 1: according to Drake?
- 27:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 27:37Speaker 1: No, you don't know the motto. Okay. All right. That's it.
- 27:41Speaker 1: I feel like, uh, I feel like we're zoning in
- 27:45Speaker 1: very quickly here. We are.
- 27:48Speaker 6: Yes?
- 27:48Speaker 2: Okay.
- 27:49Speaker 1: Cassidy?
- 27:50Speaker 2: Growing up, who was your celebrity crush?
- 27:57Speaker 1: Hmm.
- 27:58Speaker 3: This might just give it away.
- 28:00Speaker 1: Oh, here we go. You got this, Cassidy. You got it.
- 28:04Speaker 1: It was?
- 28:05Speaker 6: Justin Bieber.
- 28:08Speaker 1: Okay. Just for most, I'm going to ask you a question. No, no, no.
- 28:12Speaker 1: It's all good. I would like to know, you know,
- 28:15Speaker 1: growing up, what type of car did your parent's parents drive?
- 28:22Speaker 3: My parents' parents?
- 28:24Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, no, your, as in like, I
- 28:26Speaker 1: wasn't sure if they were, so that's why I said,
- 28:28Speaker 1: I kind of left it open for if you grew
- 28:31Speaker 1: up with one parent or both parents, but just their car.
- 28:35Speaker 3: They drove an old Volkswagen Jetta.
- 28:41Speaker 6: Like the boxy.
- 28:42Speaker 1: The box jitter?
- 28:44Speaker 3: Jitter.
- 28:45Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I remember that jitter. I remember that. Yeah.
- 28:50Speaker 1: Almost looked like a fox. Which is another one. Okay, cool.
- 28:53Speaker 3: It's very boxy.
- 28:54Speaker 1: Yes, yes. Very boxy.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Yeah. Is there room for me to ask one more?
- 29:01Speaker 1: What?
- 29:02Speaker 2: Is there room for me to ask one more?
- 29:03Speaker 1: Room. Okay, go. Go for one more.
- 29:07Speaker 4: How did you get around... If you weren't driving? And
- 29:14Speaker 4: the answer is not your parents. Like, what do you
- 29:16Speaker 4: do to get around if you're not driving?
- 29:18Speaker 3: Like when I was in school? Yes. Walk.
- 29:23Speaker 1: Walk. Okay, yeah, yeah. Walk. I mean, that makes sense.
- 29:27Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 29:27Speaker 6: Walk or bicycle.
- 29:29Speaker 3: Or skateboard.
- 29:30Speaker 1: Tell you what, one more last thing. What is your
- 29:32Speaker 1: favorite old school song?
- 29:36Speaker 3: It's Queen. Anything Queen or ever.
- 29:42Speaker 1: Sure okay like just when i think i'm getting close
- 29:45Speaker 1: to it then you drop the queen in there oh
- 29:48Speaker 1: all right we've we've asked enough questions thank you so
- 29:50Speaker 1: much We appreciate your time here today. I tell you what,
- 29:54Speaker 1: just because I prepared this, I just wanted to just
- 29:57Speaker 1: ask you one thing. Do you know where this scene
- 30:00Speaker 1: is from? I kind of think that you may not,
- 30:03Speaker 1: but if you do, I'd be very impressed. Listen carefully.
- 30:06Speaker 2: Wax on, right hand.
- 30:09Speaker 6: Wax off, left hand.
- 30:12Speaker 1: Wax on, wax off. Any idea where that scene is from?
- 30:18Speaker 3: It's fighting movies either. My brain immediately went Fight Club, but.
- 30:24Speaker 6: I don't think it's Fight Club.
- 30:27Speaker 1: Okay, no, no, it's cool. Don't worry about it. Thank
- 30:29Speaker 1: you so much. This has been a joy. I'm going
- 30:31Speaker 1: to get a couple of guesses on the WhatsApp line.
- 30:33Speaker 1: We're going to have our own little guess together. We're
- 30:35Speaker 1: going to write it down on a piece of paper
- 30:36Speaker 1: and we're going to figure out how old you are. Tamron,
- 30:38Speaker 1: thank you very much for being a great sport. We'll
- 30:40Speaker 1: give you a call back in the next couple of minutes.
- 30:42Speaker 3: 0829450940.
- 30:42Speaker 1: Have a guess. Let's see if we get close today.
- 30:51Speaker 1: The Jacksons, can you feel it? It's time to guess
- 30:54Speaker 1: somebody's age. Tamron returns to the flash drive. Thank you
- 30:58Speaker 1: for answering those questions. I know that they were weird sometimes.
- 31:02Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 31:03Speaker 2: They were weird the whole time.
- 31:04Speaker 1: They were weird. From the get-go. What's a good? What's
- 31:11Speaker 1: a good? What's a good? What's the motto anyway? According
- 31:15Speaker 1: to Drake. What do you mean? And then like, don't
- 31:19Speaker 1: push me. Push a what?
- 31:20Speaker 2: Push a what?
- 31:21Speaker 1: What would you push?
- 31:22Speaker 2: Why would you want to push it anyway?
- 31:23Speaker 1: It's Bentley McCarthy. What are we talking about here? You
- 31:25Speaker 1: know what I'm saying? And then. And then who said
- 31:30Speaker 1: that clip?
- 31:31Speaker 4: What?
- 31:31Speaker 1: It's waxing? Is that a beautician? Like, what is it?
- 31:34Speaker 1: You understand? I get it.
- 31:35Speaker 2: I get it.
- 31:35Speaker 1: Yep. So, Tamron, don't worry about it. Thank you very
- 31:38Speaker 1: much for answering so beautifully. Some people have guessed your
- 31:41Speaker 1: age based on your answers. May I play that for you?
- 31:46Speaker 3: Yes, no problem.
- 31:47Speaker 1: But there's no offense or anything, right? This is just
- 31:49Speaker 1: what the flash drive family says.
- 31:51Speaker 3: All for fun.
- 31:52Speaker 1: Okay, good. Carl, I think Tamron is 26, 28.
- 31:56Speaker 2: Hi, Carl.
- 31:57Speaker 1: She's definitely like 24, maybe 26. Hi, Carl.
- 32:04Speaker 2: I'm thinking she's in her 20s.
- 32:06Speaker 1: My mom's thinking she's in her teenage years, like the 18s.
- 32:10Speaker 2: Hey, Carl. It's Tantania. I'm guessing that she's about 30.
- 32:15Speaker 4: I think she is between 25 and 30 years old.
- 32:22Speaker 6: I think 25.
- 32:23Speaker 1: All right, good stuff. We've got a couple of guesses
- 32:25Speaker 1: in there, Tamron. We'll reveal shortly. We didn't write anything down.
- 32:30Speaker 1: Did you write it down? Yeah. Do you have a pen? Yeah.
- 32:34Speaker 1: There we go. Thank you. You're welcome. Good throw.
- 32:36Speaker 2: Good catch.
- 32:37Speaker 1: Thank you. Okay. I hope you can see this.
- 32:42Speaker 2: Me too.
- 32:44Speaker 1: All right, here we go. So we have guessed. I'm
- 32:47Speaker 1: going to hold it up to Cassidy. She's going to
- 32:49Speaker 1: read mine. I'm going to read hers.
- 32:50Speaker 3: You ready?
- 32:50Speaker 1: Yeah. Let's go. And three, two, one. All right. Cassidy
- 32:56Speaker 1: said 26.
- 32:57Speaker 2: Carl said 21.
- 32:58Speaker 1: How old are you, Tamron? There are a.
- 33:02Speaker 3: Couple of good guesses, but none of them are on
- 33:05Speaker 3: the dot.
- 33:06Speaker 1: How old are you?
- 33:08Speaker 4: I am 23.
- 33:08Speaker 3: Okay.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Come on! I was so close to 21. But I'm
- 33:14Speaker 1: sure there was someone that said 24. Someone said 24.
- 33:18Speaker 6: Come on!
- 33:19Speaker 3: Very close.
- 33:20Speaker 1: And what are you up to with your life, Tamron?
- 33:23Speaker 3: I am a mother of a very cute boy.
- 33:29Speaker 1: Hello. What's your boy's name?
- 33:32Speaker 3: His name is Lucas and he's six months old.
- 33:34Speaker 1: Congratulations, mom. And how is mom life? How's it been
- 33:38Speaker 1: treating you? How are you feeling? Are you staying... confident
- 33:41Speaker 1: trusting yourself at every turn no matter what happens.
- 33:45Speaker 3: Me trusting myself not so much but my partner has
- 33:48Speaker 3: been supportive and trusting the whole way through.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Well that's beautiful and it's great to have a great
- 33:53Speaker 1: partner it really.
- 33:54Speaker 3: Is keeping my head above water.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Definitely I can only imagine but I would always encourage
- 33:59Speaker 1: you as a new friend I would say just continue
- 34:02Speaker 1: trusting yourself because anything you do with love as your
- 34:06Speaker 1: intent can never be the wrong thing so just make
- 34:08Speaker 1: sure that you know that at every turn you're doing
- 34:10Speaker 1: the best that you can. There's no handbook. There's no pamphlet.
- 34:14Speaker 1: There's no AI hack. It's just you and instinct and
- 34:19Speaker 1: knowing that you love this child so much. That's all
- 34:21Speaker 1: you got, and that's everything you'll ever need.
- 34:23Speaker 3: Yes, thank you so much.
- 34:26Speaker 1: But thanks a lot for playing our game. This is
- 34:27Speaker 1: very cool. Are you interested to know where these things
- 34:30Speaker 1: come from? Just so that you know in the future.
- 34:32Speaker 1: So I played you that clip. Remember, the clip was this.
- 34:35Speaker 4: Waxed on.
- 34:37Speaker 1: Wax off. Karate Kid. There's an old school movie. They
- 34:42Speaker 1: redid it with Jaden, but this is the one, the
- 34:45Speaker 1: original one as well. The Drake's motto, right? The Drake's
- 34:50Speaker 1: motto is YOLO. It's from a song that came out. Yeah.
- 34:55Speaker 1: Which is You Only Live Once, of course. A goon
- 34:57Speaker 1: is a marble, a big marble.
- 34:58Speaker 3: Oh, my goodness.
- 35:01Speaker 1: The ad is from the 90s. Don't push me, push
- 35:05Speaker 1: a push pop is where So if you were born
- 35:08Speaker 1: around that time, you would know. But of course, that
- 35:12Speaker 1: was before your time. And then for you, Cassidy, you said.
- 35:17Speaker 4: So LimeWire is how we got our parents' computers infected
- 35:20Speaker 4: with viruses.
- 35:21Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 35:22Speaker 4: It was a place where we would go and download music.
- 35:26Speaker 2: How did you get.
- 35:27Speaker 4: Around before your own car? Well, I used to use
- 35:32Speaker 4: a Ricky's. Or I would have to ask parents to
- 35:36Speaker 4: come and fetch us. Carl would also.
- 35:38Speaker 1: I did what you did. I walked to a train station.
- 35:42Speaker 1: Then I got onto it. If I wanted to go
- 35:43Speaker 1: to Clifton, Cameron, I would have to walk from my
- 35:46Speaker 1: house in Thornton to my friend's house in Pinelands. Then
- 35:49Speaker 1: go from his house to the Pinelands train station. Then
- 35:52Speaker 1: get on that train and then get off at Salt
- 35:54Speaker 1: River to go to town. And then get off the
- 35:56Speaker 1: town train to the taxi rank to go to the
- 35:59Speaker 1: Camps Bay taxi and get dropped off at Clifton.
- 36:02Speaker 2: Just a lot of trust. Just a lot of trust.
- 36:07Speaker 1: Yes, go for it.
- 36:08Speaker 3: I grew up in Stray Spire, so there's nothing.
- 36:12Speaker 4: You walk.
- 36:13Speaker 2: Okay, that makes sense.
- 36:15Speaker 1: That makes sense. You see, now that you said that,
- 36:18Speaker 1: I get you. There we go.
- 36:19Speaker 2: We also had DeLulu is a Salulu.
- 36:22Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a newer one.
- 36:23Speaker 2: That is a newer one. And who sings this song?
- 36:27Speaker 2: It is Steve Lacey, Bad Habits.
- 36:33Speaker 1: Steve Lacey, also on the soundtrack of Spider-Man Brand New
- 36:36Speaker 1: Day as well with the track called Oh Yeah. There
- 36:39Speaker 1: we go. Thanks a lot, Tamron, and all the best.
- 36:42Speaker 1: It's great meeting you, you 23-year-old.
- 36:44Speaker 3: Lovely meeting you guys as well.
- 36:45Speaker 1: Pleasure, pleasure, pleasure, pleasure. Thank you. All right, so we've
- 36:49Speaker 1: had a full spectrum. We've had 23, we've had 34,
- 36:51Speaker 1: we've had 43. Sure, we've had 45. There's been a lot.
- 36:54Speaker 1: We've had a couple so far.
- 36:58Speaker 2: Next one is 78.
- 37:00Speaker 1: Why not? I don't know.
- 37:02Speaker 2: 78.
- 37:02Speaker 1: Surprise us next time.
- 37:04Speaker 2: I want to learn something.
- 37:05Speaker 1: I want to chat to a four-year-old. Like, let's do it.
- 37:08Speaker 1: I mean, let's see what happens, right? Yeah. Then we
- 37:12Speaker 1: play Baby Shark or something and see where they fit
- 37:14Speaker 1: in there.
- 37:14Speaker 2: And then they don't want to stop talking to you.
- 37:16Speaker 2: You must just play the song again.
- 37:17Speaker 1: Exactly. Again.
- 37:18Speaker 2: No, I was just going to ask you.
- 37:20Speaker 4: No, no, no.
- 37:26Speaker 1: Do you know what a ticky box is? I will
- 37:36Speaker 1: do that in a second. Just give me a moment.
- 37:37Speaker 1: I just wanted to ask you more questions. I want
- 37:39Speaker 1: to find out how old you are. So that's going
- 37:43Speaker 1: to be next time. In our next edition, traffic is.
- 37:50Speaker 2: I'm sorry. How do you do that before I'm supposed
- 37:54Speaker 2: to do traffic?
- 37:54Speaker 1: I apologize. I'm doing what I can.
- 37:57Speaker 2: Oh, my word.
- 38:01Speaker 1: The pure beauty of Lee Cole. This one's called Fool
- 38:04Speaker 1: on the flash drive. And the next couple, can I
- 38:06Speaker 1: call you? I know you've messaged in for some other
- 38:08Speaker 1: thing on the WhatsApp line, but I'd love to call
- 38:10Speaker 1: you because I need a decision maker. Which track plays
- 38:13Speaker 1: after five o'clock for a session of The Call? We
- 38:16Speaker 1: pick tracks, Beatrice, Cassidy, and I. We just pick some
- 38:19Speaker 1: songs that we think will be very cool for the playlist.
- 38:22Speaker 1: You just have to decide which one we actually play,
- 38:24Speaker 1: which determines the winner of that game. 0829450940, that's the
- 38:29Speaker 1: number that you message anyway, but we pick randomly. So
- 38:32Speaker 1: if you messaged yesterday for something or maybe the day
- 38:35Speaker 1: before yesterday, Your fair game for us to call you
- 38:38Speaker 1: to make a decision. That's up very soon. Plus, listen
- 38:41Speaker 1: out for the Prime Media Plus sound anywhere between now
- 38:44Speaker 1: and 7 o'clock for your chance to win a 5,000-round
- 38:47Speaker 1: prize as Prime Media Plus heads to your smart TV.
- 38:50Speaker 1: No matter where you're heading, you need to know what's
- 38:53Speaker 1: ahead of you, and that's why Cassidy's got your back.
- 38:55Speaker 1: Eyewitness News traffic is without insurance. SMS out to 30605 now,
- 39:00Speaker 1: and you can save on your car insurance. If you don't,
- 39:02Speaker 1: ask them for 500 rands. Hotter Golds, Shawn Mendes on
- 39:10Speaker 1: KFM 94.5, your flash drive. Let's make a quick call
- 39:13Speaker 1: to somebody who can be my judge, my jury, my executioner,
- 39:16Speaker 1: and anybody's number is fair game on here. Let's hope
- 39:20Speaker 1: this person answers. Beatrice is here. Cassidy is here. Hello. Hello. Hi.
- 39:28Speaker 1: I'm sorry to bother you. My name is Carl Wastey
- 39:29Speaker 1: from KF94. 5. How are you doing?
- 39:32Speaker 4: I'm fine, thanks.
- 39:33Speaker 5: Hi, Carl.
- 39:33Speaker 1: How are you? Fantastic. Is this Helena? Yes. Okay, great.
- 39:38Speaker 5: Close enough.
- 39:39Speaker 1: Is it Helene? Helena. Helena. Okay, cool. Helena, it's one
- 39:44Speaker 1: of my... One of my favorite My Chemical Romance songs. Anyway, cool. Helena,
- 39:48Speaker 1: here's the vibe. We have three tracks. One of them
- 39:52Speaker 1: has to play off the news, and we are going
- 39:53Speaker 1: to give you the opportunity to pick the best one.
- 39:57Speaker 1: That's how it works. So we're going to each sell
- 39:59Speaker 1: our songs to you, Helena, and then we're going to
- 40:01Speaker 1: go from there. Pietras, sell it.
- 40:04Speaker 5: So earlier on the show, you played Neon Dreams and Bushleji, Wonder.
- 40:09Speaker 1: Yes, I did.
- 40:09Speaker 5: And what you failed to mention was that the artist
- 40:12Speaker 5: in the song that I chose, Burn... is also featured
- 40:16Speaker 5: on that track.
- 40:16Speaker 1: On Wonder. On Wonder.
- 40:18Speaker 5: So I chose Burn, Man on the Moon.
- 40:21Speaker 1: I'd like to just vet that and say that's music
- 40:24Speaker 1: managers not labelling songs properly. I can say that because
- 40:38Speaker 1: he's on leave. Probably listening. He's actually labelled on there.
- 40:43Speaker 1: But given our... I was faced to see. Yeah, the screen.
- 40:46Speaker 1: The screen. We're still on the 13-inch. Shame, poor Bern
- 40:49Speaker 1: has always been missed. We're on the 13-inch screen. I'm sorry, Bern.
- 40:51Speaker 1: You've always been dropped out of the back and answered
- 40:53Speaker 1: that song. I apologize. Okay, so that's cool. Man of
- 40:56Speaker 1: the Moon is number one. My track is a local
- 40:59Speaker 1: liquor song, Zulani Mahola. The talent that she is, the
- 41:03Speaker 1: gift to South Africa she is, has teamed up with
- 41:06Speaker 1: Zegs Bantuini for a track called Where You Are. So
- 41:20Speaker 1: lecker and so local. And over to Cassidy who won
- 41:24Speaker 1: for the fifth time straight yesterday. Will she do it
- 41:26Speaker 1: again today?
- 41:28Speaker 4: So last night I was at gym and then this
- 41:30Speaker 4: song plays on my playlist and I'm like, yo, it's
- 41:33Speaker 4: got me clapping along.
- 41:34Speaker 2: It's got me singing along.
- 41:35Speaker 4: And I know that that's what people want to do
- 41:37Speaker 4: when they're in traffic, right? They want to forget about
- 41:38Speaker 4: it and they want to enjoy something. So I decided
- 41:41Speaker 4: to use this song, the Forget Me Nots by Patrice Ruchin.
- 41:45Speaker 2: Love the land.
- 41:53Speaker 1: It's the MIB. It's the MIB. Sorry. I know another
- 41:59Speaker 1: version of that. Anyway, right. We've got, Helena, you've got
- 42:03Speaker 1: options here. Very unique songs, I must say. Zulani Mohola,
- 42:06Speaker 1: Zex Mantwini, Bern, Patrice Ruchin. But we love unique. We're
- 42:09Speaker 1: not going to play the songs that we play all
- 42:10Speaker 1: the time on KF94. 5. They have to be unique. So,
- 42:14Speaker 1: what is your choice?
- 42:16Speaker 3: Well, sorry, guys, but I'm going to stick with Cassidy.
- 42:20Speaker 1: Woohoo! Cass, that's six days in a row. Patrice Ruchin,
- 42:24Speaker 1: Forget Me Nots.
- 42:25Speaker 2: Get into it.
- 42:25Speaker 1: We'll play after news. Thank you so much, Helena. Have
- 42:28Speaker 1: a wonderful day.
- 42:29Speaker 3: Okay, you're welcome.
- 42:30Speaker 1: And enjoy.
- 42:30Speaker 6: Thanks, and you guys too.
- 42:31Speaker 3: Thanks a lot.
- 42:32Speaker 1: Anytime. Helena has picked Forget Me Nots by Patrice Ruchin.
- 42:36Speaker 1: That is coming your way. I know what you're thinking.
- 42:38Speaker 1: Cassidy's playlist. How is it so cultured and so driven
- 42:43Speaker 1: in the past hits and bangers? That's yet to be seen.
- 42:47Speaker 1: Why it's like that. Ooh, I just stumbled across this.
- 42:51Speaker 4: My parents have given me a great knowledge of fun
- 42:54Speaker 4: music from all around the world all the years. Just
- 42:58Speaker 4: because I'm 30 doesn't mean every song that I know
- 43:00Speaker 4: is going.
- 43:01Speaker 2: To be 30.
- 43:02Speaker 1: I noticed so. I did. I'm glad.
- 43:04Speaker 2: I'm glad you know how cultured my music taste is.
- 43:06Speaker 1: Exactly. And that song, Forget Me Not, as you know,
- 43:09Speaker 1: was fumbled by Will Smith for Men in Black back
- 43:13Speaker 1: in the day as well.
- 43:15Speaker 2: That was the remix you were singing.
- 43:16Speaker 1: That's it. It's just in my head now. Okay, let's
- 43:21Speaker 1: get onto those roads. Find my way. Tim O.D.V., if
- 43:29Speaker 1: you are finding your way on the roads, don't worry,
- 43:31Speaker 1: the flash drive is with you. I'm Carl, this is Cassidy,
- 43:33Speaker 1: and Eyewitness News Traffic is brought to you by Outsurance.
- 43:36Speaker 1: SMS out to 30605 now, and you could save on
- 43:40Speaker 1: your car insurance. If you don't, ask them for 500 rand.
- 43:43Speaker 5: Five questions, 30 seconds, one word.
- 43:48Speaker 1: Think fast, wordsmith. It's the flash word delivered by Mr.
- 43:52Speaker 1: D on KFM 94.5.
- 43:53Speaker 2: D is for done.
- 43:59Speaker 1: Let's bring up our competitors for the day. Chandra, our
- 44:03Speaker 1: winner just yesterday. How's that? Hi.
- 44:07Speaker 6: How are you?
- 44:07Speaker 1: Fantastic. I'm ready to get this thing done. We're going
- 44:11Speaker 1: to do this together. Welcome back. Remember, you are here
- 44:14Speaker 1: to claim another win and add to that $ 1, 000 Mr.
- 44:17Speaker 1: D voucher. It could be a $ 14, 000 Mr. D voucher
- 44:20Speaker 1: week for you, Chandra, but someone is in your way. Hello, Megan.
- 44:25Speaker 5: Hey, Carl.
- 44:26Speaker 3: Hey, Cassidy. Hey, Chandra.
- 44:28Speaker 2: Hi. Hi.
- 44:29Speaker 1: Megan, welcome to the party. Remember, this is not only
- 44:31Speaker 1: a normal party. This is a competitive party where you
- 44:34Speaker 1: have to beat Chandra to get a 1,000-ran Mr. D voucher. Megan,
- 44:37Speaker 1: what is your strategy for today?
- 44:38Speaker 3: Just win.
- 44:42Speaker 1: Thank you. Done. Thank you. That's all you need. Done.
- 44:45Speaker 4: Done. Done.
- 44:46Speaker 2: I know.
- 44:47Speaker 1: It gets to you. Hey, the Mr. D thing. The done, done, done, done.
- 44:50Speaker 1: I realize that you can create any song with the
- 44:52Speaker 1: word done. You can do that. Any song. Challenge me,
- 44:59Speaker 1: I will do it. Megan, let's hear from our champion.
- 45:02Speaker 1: First or second today? You choose. Second. All right. Megan,
- 45:07Speaker 1: five questions coming your way and 30 seconds to answer them.
- 45:10Speaker 1: And today is a lovely challenge because today, your flash
- 45:14Speaker 1: word is the word Mr. All right?
- 45:21Speaker 3: Okay.
- 45:21Speaker 1: So remember... All of your answers will be Mr. Something
- 45:27Speaker 1: or Mr. In something. That is entirely up to you
- 45:31Speaker 1: and your lateral thinking. Are you up for the challenge? Yes.
- 45:36Speaker 1: I hope you are. Let's have some fun with this one.
- 45:38Speaker 1: Good luck to you. Your time begins in three, two, one. Mr.
- 45:44Speaker 1: is your flash word. Let's go. A retail store brand. Mr.
- 45:49Speaker 3: Price.
- 45:50Speaker 1: A song by the Killers.
- 45:55Speaker 3: Let me skip that.
- 45:56Speaker 1: The most followed YouTuber on the planet. Mr.
- 46:00Speaker 4: Beast.
- 46:01Speaker 1: The owner of SpongeBob's Krusty Krab.
- 46:04Speaker 3: Mr.
- 46:05Speaker 5: Krab.
- 46:06Speaker 1: The character from Toy Story. A character.
- 46:11Speaker 4: Mr.
- 46:11Speaker 3: Potato Head.
- 46:13Speaker 1: Song by Killers. Time. I'm so impressed. This is a
- 46:20Speaker 1: challenging one. And you clapped four out of five. Oh,
- 46:24Speaker 1: I've got the song. Okay. No, no, no, it's fine.
- 46:28Speaker 1: I want to give you your time because obviously I'm
- 46:30Speaker 1: not going to give you the answers. You can jump
- 46:33Speaker 1: in here. Do you have any idea what that song
- 46:35Speaker 1: was that I was looking for?
- 46:37Speaker 3: Yes, it was Mr. Brightside.
- 46:44Speaker 1: Well done. I'm proud of you. So, I mean, technically
- 46:46Speaker 1: you got five, but four officially. Let's do Chandra. Are
- 46:51Speaker 1: you ready?
- 46:52Speaker 3: I'm ready.
- 46:53Speaker 1: Mr. Your time begins in three, two, one. Let's go.
- 46:59Speaker 1: A Rowan Atkinson character. I'm skipped. A furniture polish brand.
- 47:06Speaker 3: Mr.
- 47:06Speaker 1: Min. A Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie movie.
- 47:10Speaker 6: Mr.
- 47:10Speaker 2: And Mrs.
- 47:10Speaker 3: Smith.
- 47:11Speaker 1: A Leon Schuster character. Mr. Bones. A character from the A-team.
- 47:21Speaker 3: Oh, my word.

- 49:27Speaker 1: birthday by adding some references to this traffic report. I
- 49:30Speaker 1: want you to listen to every word because that word
- 49:33Speaker 1: could be a movie title, a song title, a little
- 49:36Speaker 1: reference point of that person's life that we are celebrating today.
- 49:40Speaker 1: Have a guess on 082-945-0940. Who is being celebrated in
- 49:46Speaker 1: this traffic report? Brought to you by Toyota. Whether you
- 49:49Speaker 1: call your car Stoffel, sweetie, or just Hilux, Toyota Genuine
- 49:53Speaker 1: is here for your journey. Toyota Genuine, here for life.
- 49:59Speaker 4: So it's that time of day where you're probably on
- 50:00Speaker 4: your way home to pour yourself an ice cold gin
- 50:03Speaker 4: and juice and chill after a long day. So best
- 50:05Speaker 4: I get you home quickly and safely.
- 50:07Speaker 2: Message in. Hey, Cassidy, Ancelari's passed before the lookout points.
- 50:11Speaker 4: There's a truck that's broken down in the left lane,
- 50:13Speaker 4: which is causing heavy delays, and it's so annoying.
- 50:15Speaker 2: And still, Dre, you decided to pop me an update.
- 50:18Speaker 2: That's so beautiful. Thank you.
- 50:20Speaker 4: In Easter River, at Forest and Beverley, there's been an accident.
- 50:23Speaker 4: Another message in. Hey, guys, some congestion on Broadersway Boulevard
- 50:26Speaker 4: toward Main Road.
- 50:27Speaker 2: Thank you for that.
- 50:29Speaker 4: A vehicle broke down on the M5 southbound after Berkeley.
- 50:32Speaker 4: Some faulty traffic lights around Cape Town, but don't let
- 50:36Speaker 4: that make you sweat.
- 50:37Speaker 2: You know what?
- 50:37Speaker 1: Actually.
- 50:38Speaker 4: I'm not going to tell you not to lose it
- 50:39Speaker 4: or drop it like it's hot because who am I?
- 50:41Speaker 2: I'd probably be just as annoyed. Anyway, what I can
- 50:43Speaker 2: give you is a solution.
- 50:45Speaker 4: Apply the four-way stop rule and you'll get through and
- 50:48Speaker 4: you'll be young, wild and free. My name is Cassidy Nicholson.
- 50:51Speaker 4: And please, I know it's a doggy dog world, but
- 50:53Speaker 4: your updates really do help. So keep sending those in.
- 50:56Speaker 4: My number is 082-945-0940. We're here for Tessie.
- 51:01Speaker 1: And Tato Malato, Eyewitness News Sport. Thanks, Tato. Over to you, Danielle. Hello.
- 51:06Speaker 4: Hello.
- 51:07Speaker 1: Danielle, you heard Cassidy's Traffic. Whose birthday is it today?
- 51:10Speaker 6: That'll be Snoop Dogg.
- 51:13Speaker 2: Snoop.
- 51:18Speaker 1: Yes, it is.
- 51:18Speaker 2: Yes, it is.
- 51:19Speaker 1: Calvin Broadus Jr. 's birthday today. Look at that, eh?
- 51:23Speaker 1: And what gave it away for you? Which one of
- 51:25Speaker 1: those tracks did you hear in Cassidy's Traffic? Jen and
- 51:28Speaker 1: Juice of Straight Away. Straight Away, because you were on
- 51:31Speaker 1: your way anyway to do the same thing. Jen and Juice. Oh,
- 51:36Speaker 1: there we go, Danielle. Thank you very much. It is.
- 51:38Speaker 1: When's your birthday?
- 51:40Speaker 3: My birthday is in January.
- 51:42Speaker 1: In Jan. Nice. When people have no money. So they
- 51:45Speaker 1: just give you their company.
- 51:46Speaker 6: No, it's the 28th of January.
- 51:49Speaker 1: Oh, never mind. Yeah, no, no. Then you must, eh?
- 51:52Speaker 1: Because then before they pay off their debt, they must
- 51:54Speaker 1: just get you a gift. That's important for January babies.
- 51:57Speaker 1: I know. There we go. Danielle, enjoy. Are you on
- 51:59Speaker 1: your way home?
- 52:00Speaker 2: Yes.
- 52:01Speaker 1: Okay, be safe. Are you almost there? Yes, almost. Okay,
- 52:04Speaker 1: lovely stuff. Thanks a lot for choosing us. We appreciate you.
- 52:07Speaker 1: And remember, this goes for you as well, Danielle, is
- 52:10Speaker 1: that coming up, it is your chance to win 5,000
- 52:12Speaker 1: Rand cash. Thanks to our good friends at Crocs. All
- 52:17Speaker 1: we want is for you to bring back something from
- 52:19Speaker 1: the 2000s. What are we bringing back, Cassidy, from the 2000s? Yesterday,
- 52:24Speaker 1: we said BBM. We said Mixit yesterday. Is there anything
- 52:27Speaker 1: else you want to bring back from 2000s? Oh, of course.
- 52:29Speaker 2: Bring back Healy's.
- 52:31Speaker 1: Heelys?
- 52:31Speaker 2: Bring back Heelys.
- 52:32Speaker 1: Oh my word.
- 52:33Speaker 2: Bring back Heelys. If I'm going downhill, I want to roll.
- 52:36Speaker 4: Heelys.
- 52:36Speaker 2: I want to roll downhill.
- 52:39Speaker 1: Heelys, that's a good shout.
- 52:41Speaker 2: You know what? Heelys, you would have mad aura. Mad aura.
- 52:45Speaker 2: What do you mean? Those are new shoes and now
- 52:47Speaker 2: you're rolling in them?
- 52:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 52:48Speaker 2: My guy.
- 52:49Speaker 1: Heelys were very good. It's a good shout. It really is.
- 52:53Speaker 1: Because I love how people were so smooth with it.
- 52:55Speaker 2: That's what I'm saying.
- 52:56Speaker 1: They'd be walking next to you and then suddenly you're like, whoa,
- 52:58Speaker 1: what just happened here? Why are you... Smoothly walking. What
- 53:01Speaker 1: happened to you? That's what I'm saying. But I love
- 53:04Speaker 1: the fact that, you know, obviously growing up in a
- 53:06Speaker 1: certain way, there'd be a lot of generics. And I
- 53:09Speaker 1: was fortunate to have a generic. Yeah.
- 53:13Speaker 2: Right?
- 53:14Speaker 1: Here's the issue with the generic. Is that the engineering
- 53:18Speaker 1: of Heelys was such that if you lift your heel,
- 53:21Speaker 1: immediately you'd be on the roller and you'd go, right?
- 53:24Speaker 1: So on my one... You had to like push a button.
- 53:28Speaker 1: The sole of the shoe was still too... It's still
- 53:30Speaker 1: too big. So even if you tilted your foot, it
- 53:33Speaker 1: wouldn't have only heel. You'd have a bit of sole.
- 53:37Speaker 1: So you'd never have a smooth. So you'd have like
- 53:41Speaker 1: all the way down.
- 53:42Speaker 2: Why do bad things happen to good people?
- 53:43Speaker 1: I have no idea. Remember, I didn't even get Doc Martens.
- 53:46Speaker 1: I got Mark Dartons. That's how I grew up. All right.
- 53:50Speaker 1: Remember Von Dutch? Have you ever worn Vin Dutch?
- 53:52Speaker 3: Eh?
- 53:53Speaker 2: It's that Vin Diesel's merch.
- 53:55Speaker 1: Diesel is the other one. Yes, we had Diesel too. Habibas. Habibas.
- 54:00Speaker 2: Abibas Ray Bun.
- 54:02Speaker 1: Yeah I'm not saying Bring back those Fakes from 2000
- 54:07Speaker 1: No no no But I mean That's what happened Yeah
- 54:10Speaker 1: My pops would go to Dubai Because he had He
- 54:12Speaker 1: worked in Dubai At the time And he'd bring back All.
- 54:15Speaker 2: Of this And you were so excited At first And
- 54:18Speaker 2: then you realized.
- 54:19Speaker 1: Oh look at this t-shirt Is that Andy Yes It's
- 54:23Speaker 1: Abibas I'm not lying I'm not lying He brought me Abibas.
- 54:28Speaker 2: Once You look like the type of guy that didn't
- 54:31Speaker 2: have a real carry more.
- 54:33Speaker 4: No.
- 54:34Speaker 1: No, I had a hand-me-down. My brother did. My older
- 54:36Speaker 1: brother had. Yes.
- 54:37Speaker 2: Okay. He had bragging rights to the carry more.
- 54:40Speaker 1: But there's nothing wrong. Can I tell you the problem
- 54:42Speaker 1: with his carry more is that he had ordered his
- 54:44Speaker 1: friend's name.
- 54:45Speaker 2: But that's what I'm saying. Everyone else had already marked
- 54:47Speaker 2: the bag.
- 54:47Speaker 1: I'm like, I don't even know who Lawrence is. Why
- 54:50Speaker 1: is he on my bag? Also on the strap to
- 54:52Speaker 1: the front. And also, why is his name so big,
- 54:55Speaker 1: older brother? What happened between you two? Yeah. Yeah, the
- 55:01Speaker 1: good old days, eh? Sure. Tippex on a carrymore. I
- 55:05Speaker 1: don't see that anymore. I feel like that was 2000s.
- 55:07Speaker 2: There we go. Bring that back. Bring Tippex back on
- 55:09Speaker 2: a carrymore.
- 55:10Speaker 1: In fact, hold on.
- 55:11Speaker 2: Tippex. Yeah, look at this. This is my Tippex. You
- 55:17Speaker 2: shouldn't be able to do this to a Tippex.
- 55:19Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true. But is that actually a Tippex?
- 55:23Speaker 2: Yes, I have to push it down and then the
- 55:24Speaker 2: tape comes out.
- 55:25Speaker 1: Oh, you have that one.
- 55:26Speaker 2: I got the bougie one.
- 55:28Speaker 1: Oh. I use that to cover some of the scuffed
- 55:30Speaker 1: white furniture in my home.
- 55:32Speaker 2: That's not what this is for, Wasty.
- 55:34Speaker 1: I forgot. It just looked like the same thing. I
- 55:35Speaker 1: know they have that thing on some of the websites.
- 55:37Speaker 2: This is the generic Healy for your white couch.
- 55:40Speaker 1: That's correct. That's what I've had. Let's bring it back,
- 55:43Speaker 1: shall we? I know you've got some good ideas. Give
- 55:45Speaker 1: us a bit of nostalgia, and I'll give you something
- 55:48Speaker 1: special from Crocs. 5,000 Rand. So please, take that message,
- 55:53Speaker 1: hold it up, and drop it like it's hot. Happy birthday,
- 55:59Speaker 1: Calvin Broadus Jr.
- 56:00Speaker 3: a.k.a.
- 56:00Speaker 1: Snoop Dogg. Drop it like it's hot. What's hot right
- 56:03Speaker 1: now is Crocs. It's Croctober, in case you don't know,
- 56:06Speaker 1: and it's your chance to win. One, two, three, go.
- 56:09Speaker 1: The 2000s called, and they want to hear what you
- 56:12Speaker 1: miss for your chance to win big, thanks to Crocs
- 56:15Speaker 1: on KFM 94.5.
- 56:16Speaker 2: Here we go.
- 56:16Speaker 1: Hello, Faith. Hello. Hello.
- 56:20Speaker 2: Faith, it's Carl.
- 56:23Speaker 1: Hello. Flash drive.
- 56:26Speaker 3: Hi, Carl.
- 56:27Speaker 1: Faith, I want to throw it all the way back.
- 56:29Speaker 2: 2000s.
- 56:29Speaker 1: What do you want to bring back, Faith? I would
- 56:33Speaker 1: bring back Mr. Video on a Friday night.
- 56:37Speaker 2: I'm going to rent a movie.
- 56:40Speaker 4: Oh!
- 56:41Speaker 1: Yo, can I tell you? Your face, you're taking me
- 56:45Speaker 1: back to where it all started for me. I worked
- 56:48Speaker 1: in a video shop. Okay. And that was one of
- 56:52Speaker 1: my best thoughts. If you want to ask me what
- 56:54Speaker 1: really built character and allowed me more confidence with people,
- 56:58Speaker 1: it had to be that video shop. I got to
- 57:01Speaker 1: interact with every sort of person. You got to do
- 57:04Speaker 1: your customer service thing, but also people would come to
- 57:07Speaker 1: you saying, I got a rough day call. Please recommend
- 57:10Speaker 1: a movie. And I remember there were families that would
- 57:13Speaker 1: walk in and they'd be like the one of the
- 57:15Speaker 1: daughters saying, we should watch A Walk to Remember. And
- 57:18Speaker 1: the other one saying like, no, let's watch Saving Private Ryan.
- 57:20Speaker 1: And oh, it was just, it was lovely just being
- 57:23Speaker 1: part of that whole conversation. Do you remember on Fridays,
- 57:28Speaker 1: like what movie takes you back to the video shop
- 57:32Speaker 1: for you, Faith?
- 57:34Speaker 3: Oh, you're building a curve on me now.
- 57:37Speaker 6: I can't think now.
- 57:38Speaker 2: But there's some very nice movies.
- 57:41Speaker 1: In the 2000s, there were some good movies. There was
- 57:45Speaker 1: an entire list. And I remember there was even that,
- 57:47Speaker 1: there was an ad. Hold on, Jodie West just dropped
- 57:50Speaker 1: this here. There was an ad on TV for Mr.
- 57:52Speaker 1: Video as well.
- 58:08Speaker 3: Mr.
- 58:08Speaker 4: Video.
- 58:09Speaker 1: Top entertainment right next door. Yo, the 2000s, eh? My word.
- 58:15Speaker 1: So do you know that we had a movie in
- 58:17Speaker 1: our video shop face? It was... Are you still there?
- 58:21Speaker 1: You are.
- 58:22Speaker 3: I'm still here. I'm still here.
- 58:23Speaker 6: I'm listening.
- 58:24Speaker 1: Yeah, there was City of God. I remember that came
- 58:27Speaker 1: in and nobody, like no one betted on the movie
- 58:30Speaker 1: when it came into our video shop and I was like,
- 58:31Speaker 1: this is a good movie, man. I just had a
- 58:34Speaker 1: feeling about it. Watched it. Absolutely incredible movie. It was
- 58:38Speaker 1: just like, oh. And I remember Gladiator came out in
- 58:42Speaker 1: the 2000s as well. In fact, the year 2000, Gladiator.
- 58:46Speaker 1: Christopher Nolan's probably first movie that put him on the
- 58:49Speaker 1: map was Memento, also 2000. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless
- 58:53Speaker 1: Mind came out in 2004. One of my best animes
- 58:56Speaker 1: of all time, Spirited Away, was out in 2001. And
- 58:59Speaker 1: we got that video in. I sold that to everybody.
- 59:03Speaker 1: But this is such a lovely memory, man. Thank you
- 59:06Speaker 1: for this. I'm taking all the way back. I really,
- 59:09Speaker 1: I'm taking all the way back. It's so good. And
- 59:12Speaker 1: just for you engaging a core memory from my side,
- 59:15Speaker 1: I'd like to offer you something, which is a 5,000
- 59:18Speaker 1: Rand prize. Congratulations. All yours.
- 59:22Speaker 2: Thank you so much.
- 59:24Speaker 1: Thank you, Faith. And please send love to everybody in Bardaarstorp.
- 59:27Speaker 1: I know that you're in from that area, right?
- 59:29Speaker 3: Yes, I am.
- 59:30Speaker 1: Get everybody to wear their Crocs at the same time
- 59:33Speaker 1: in the street. Do it, Faith. Thank you so much.
- 59:36Speaker 4: 23 October.
- 59:38Speaker 1: Is officially Crocs Day, but why celebrate for just one
