- 0:57Speaker 2: like the touch like light up bar at the top. Yeah,
- 1:00Speaker 2: and it's like a seven eight year old computer now,
- 1:04Speaker 2: not a flex and so sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

- 1:10Speaker 5: You can do that.
- 1:11Speaker 2: After the show, Flame, Well it was making noise. You're
- 1:13Speaker 2: complaining about it.

- 1:17Speaker 6: Hey, but you're doing great though. You're really like settling
- 1:21Speaker 6: into your role the life.
- 1:24Speaker 5: You're doing great.
- 1:25Speaker 2: You're doing so good. Words affirmation improved so much. Oh

- 1:43Speaker 6: Probably archives somewhere.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Yeah, it might be better than anything we do now.
- 1:47Speaker 5: Well I say it all the time, but like, oh,
- 1:50Speaker 5: this is radio.
- 1:52Speaker 2: We got away with so much.
- 1:53Speaker 7: Like we did a full show on meth gators, We
- 1:56Speaker 7: did a full show on Chuck Norris jokes.
- 1:58Speaker 2: I mean we could get away with that now.
- 2:00Speaker 5: Now you could. But like we pushed the limits.
- 2:03Speaker 7: Sure, probably back down a little bit more because there's
- 2:05Speaker 7: different rules at night. Yeah, nighttime radio.
- 2:07Speaker 2: And wait, less people listening.
- 2:10Speaker 5: That's fair too, Wait lets people who care, that's fair.
- 2:13Speaker 5: It was us, uh, the landra we had.
- 2:17Speaker 7: We had our loyal listeners though, and they're sure they
- 2:20Speaker 7: are still here. Shout out to Craig and Nook.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Well a lot of Craig used to do a lot
- 2:24Speaker 2: of like good little animations.
- 2:25Speaker 5: Yeah, you're grabbing the.
- 2:27Speaker 6: Prop dusters Sports a screenshot that you could buy your
- 2:33Speaker 6: Sports Illustrated cover for twelve dollars twelve.
- 2:38Speaker 7: Yeah, actually, I'm pretty it's pretty excited about that. Twelve
- 2:43Speaker 7: bucks man A lot better than some of the cards
- 2:46Speaker 7: I got out there.
- 2:47Speaker 5: It was like a dollar ninety nine.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Speaking up, we got two nice cards here today. All right,
- 2:53Speaker 2: before we get into training camp. Talk what do we
- 2:54Speaker 2: have for trading camp? You're right, more like trading cards. Uh,
- 3:00Speaker 2: this is this is Jacob Hester's right here. Check this out.
- 3:02Speaker 2: This is a Joe Montaigne. That's right. Never heard of
- 3:05Speaker 2: this rookie card.
- 3:06Speaker 5: Nineteen eighty one tops rookie autograph.
- 3:09Speaker 2: Autograph Joe, never heard of him. Now we're going to
- 3:14Speaker 2: go from one quarterback to another.
- 3:16Speaker 5: Yeah, you're just gonna probably hit a little bit harder here.
- 3:19Speaker 2: Jade and Daniels Lshoe fans should be familiar with him. Yeah,
- 3:23Speaker 2: quarterback in the NFL, Jaydon Daniels kaboom boom grated. That's
- 3:31Speaker 2: called a ten grade at a ten, that is a
- 3:32Speaker 2: that's a billy bob ten. That's a that's a big boy.
- 3:35Speaker 2: It's a big one that that Lynn has in his hand.
- 3:37Speaker 5: That's a used car.
- 3:38Speaker 2: There was a good one. Yeah, we got lucky on
- 3:42Speaker 2: that one. Won that in a uh.
- 3:44Speaker 5: In a break yep, won that. I think it was
- 3:47Speaker 5: random drawing.
- 3:48Speaker 7: I was I g as you you paid for a
- 3:51Speaker 7: raffle ticket though, paid for a raffle ticket paid for
- 3:53Speaker 7: a raff Remember you can always follow along our journey
- 3:56Speaker 7: at Off the Break LA on Instagram and.
- 3:59Speaker 2: On Twitter, and we do it kind of like we
- 4:01Speaker 2: do this show. We're just we're just some smart idiots.
- 4:06Speaker 6: The beautiful video I made for y'all never went up.
- 4:10Speaker 2: We got Tom.
- 4:11Speaker 7: You did a great job too, guys. We didn't give
- 4:13Speaker 7: it a whole lot well to work with, so we
- 4:16Speaker 7: took a video.
- 4:17Speaker 2: We're gonna, We're gonna, We're gonna, so we're gonna take
- 4:19Speaker 2: you along our journey through through Off the Break we
- 4:23Speaker 2: have we got our best cards that were raw cards, ungraded,
- 4:27Speaker 2: So we took our best ones and we packaged them
- 4:29Speaker 2: up the other day and we sent them off to
- 4:32Speaker 2: p s A to get graded. So we're gonna take
- 4:34Speaker 2: you along the journey of what those cards get graded.
- 4:38Speaker 2: We expedited the grading so it didn't take like four months.
- 4:41Speaker 2: So it's just had some heavy hitters, and we got
- 4:43Speaker 2: some heavy hitters, so we put it in there. So
- 4:46Speaker 2: we are hoping and praying for tens. We're gonna see,
- 4:50Speaker 2: We're gonna see what happens. We'll keep you updated maybe
- 4:53Speaker 2: so We're not gonna look at it when they get
- 4:55Speaker 2: graded and sentos. I'm not gonna look at the our mind.
- 4:57Speaker 2: We're gonna open it on air. Okay, I like it.
- 5:01Speaker 5: I who have the dump button ready to go?
- 5:02Speaker 7: If that bruck Bowers gets a nine, just tell it
- 5:05Speaker 7: the dumb button, have it ready to go? All right,
- 5:09Speaker 7: So we'll talk training camp here, and we'll get into
- 5:11Speaker 7: storylines and all of that, and we can go Saints
- 5:13Speaker 7: and then Tigers can go Tigers and Saints.
- 5:15Speaker 5: It doesn't really matter. But you know, because obviously it's
- 5:17Speaker 5: that time of year.
- 5:18Speaker 7: But you know, training camp, I just tell you personally,
- 5:21Speaker 7: for me, it was such a mental thing more than
- 5:24Speaker 7: it was physical. The physical part of training camp is
- 5:28Speaker 7: is actually kind of once you get into it.
- 5:30Speaker 5: At least for me, it was fun.
- 5:31Speaker 7: Like I actually kind of liked the physical part of
- 5:33Speaker 7: training camp and competing against you know, your brethren there
- 5:37Speaker 7: and it would really intentify everything. And I used to
- 5:41Speaker 7: love like a little goal line. It's like, you know,
- 5:44Speaker 7: your boy who's playing linebacker. Y'all talk trash in the
- 5:47Speaker 7: weight room all summer long. Who was stronger? Well, we're
- 5:49Speaker 7: about to find out. And I loved practicing against other teams,
- 5:53Speaker 7: Like we did that every year when I was in
- 5:54Speaker 7: San Diego, and I loved it because it's like I'm
- 5:58Speaker 7: getting game reps all day, every day for what three days.
- 6:01Speaker 7: Usually it's like what you know, you got two really
- 6:04Speaker 7: hard days and then you got ones kind of like
- 6:05Speaker 7: in shoulder pads or really sometimes not even in pads,
- 6:08Speaker 7: and sometimes guys like Sean Lee only know one speed
- 6:11Speaker 7: and like pads or no pads, it doesn't really matter.
- 6:13Speaker 5: But that was fun. I enjoyed that part of it.
- 6:16Speaker 7: I don't know why I always allowed myself mentally to
- 6:19Speaker 7: just overthink training camp though, And I don't know if
- 6:22Speaker 7: you were like this too, Matt, But I don't know
- 6:25Speaker 7: if it was being away from my family. I don't
- 6:27Speaker 7: know if it was like staying in a hotel or
- 6:29Speaker 7: a dorm room for thirty days. Like I don't know
- 6:31Speaker 7: what portion of it, but I used to like freak
- 6:33Speaker 7: myself out about training camp. And I've told this story
- 6:36Speaker 7: on air, but like even so, like going into year
- 6:38Speaker 7: number five for me, like I was like, I think
- 6:41Speaker 7: I think I'm done, I think I'm vested. I played
- 6:47Speaker 7: well last year, but I don't think I want to
- 6:49Speaker 7: go to training camp. I like that those are the
- 6:51Speaker 7: kind of conversations you have and then you get there
- 6:54Speaker 7: and you're like, oh, these my boys, like we're good,
- 6:55Speaker 7: let's ride, let's roll whatever, and then you're six.
- 6:59Speaker 5: I don't know if I want to go training camp.
- 7:00Speaker 5: I think I might want to tell like I say,
- 7:02Speaker 5: I got.
- 7:02Speaker 2: The same point. It's the same mental conversation, and I don't.
- 7:05Speaker 7: Like And I don't know why, because like once I
- 7:07Speaker 7: always got there, it's like, Okay, it is what it is,
- 7:09Speaker 7: just thirty days. But there is a mental aspect of
- 7:13Speaker 7: training camp that players go through every year. And training
- 7:18Speaker 7: camp is the most important time of the year to
- 7:20Speaker 7: me at least, And you could say it's spring and
- 7:22Speaker 7: fourth quarter programs and off season workouts, all of that
- 7:25Speaker 7: is important, but your bond, your chemistry, everything that you
- 7:30Speaker 7: do moving forward into the fall. I feel like either
- 7:34Speaker 7: get sharpened or dulled during training camp. And I've had
- 7:38Speaker 7: coaches that have been able to handle it really well
- 7:41Speaker 7: and some that did too much, some that didn't do enough.
- 7:43Speaker 5: Like there is a sweet science, in my opinion, to how.
- 7:47Speaker 7: You get your team ready in camp, and that's one
- 7:48Speaker 7: of the best, like team building and just relation, like
- 7:51Speaker 7: in life, right, The best relationships you have are with
- 7:55Speaker 7: the people you go through difficult things with and or
- 8:00Speaker 7: emotional things with.
- 8:02Speaker 2: And that's true with everything. And that's kind of the
- 8:06Speaker 2: point of training camp. The point of it is to
- 8:08Speaker 2: be hard, like early on, and you should be hard, yeah,
- 8:10Speaker 2: in your football career, like when you're in high school
- 8:12Speaker 2: and college. The goal of off season and training camp
- 8:15Speaker 2: is to make people mentally tougher, like you're just trying
- 8:17Speaker 2: to tell like we're gonna weed out the week like
- 8:21Speaker 2: in the NFL. It's not that because nobody's weak at
- 8:23Speaker 2: that point, but you have to put your you have
- 8:26Speaker 2: to put your team through fires so they do like
- 8:29Speaker 2: build like build chemistry.
- 8:31Speaker 7: You guys, see how far can I push these young
- 8:33Speaker 7: men are grown men, if you're in the NFL, how
- 8:36Speaker 7: much can I push them to where they're about to break?
- 8:38Speaker 2: But they don't break it? And certainly it's a lot
- 8:40Speaker 2: different these days. Training camp used to be a lot harder.
- 8:44Speaker 2: And this isn't like a back in my day.
- 8:46Speaker 5: Take this is because you can go farther, you know,
- 8:49Speaker 5: from us, like it was harder for them.
- 8:50Speaker 2: What they did was how it used to be was
- 8:52Speaker 2: just like scientifically unhealthy, not good for the human.
- 8:57Speaker 7: Every strength coach, our head coach that we talk with,
- 9:00Speaker 7: they're like, yeah, we don't have to be real big
- 9:02Speaker 7: dummies like we used to be. Like, we got GPS
- 9:04Speaker 7: and we can kind of track if a guy is slacking,
- 9:05Speaker 7: we know about his numbers. Even I was talking with
- 9:09Speaker 7: Kirby a couple of weeks ago and he's like, has
- 9:11Speaker 7: we don't do one tens anymore?
- 9:14Speaker 5: Your big dummy? Why would we do this?
- 9:15Speaker 7: He's like, we got GPS on these guys and we
- 9:18Speaker 7: got to get to a certain number. And when they
- 9:20Speaker 7: get to that number, I know they're working their ass off.
- 9:22Speaker 7: If they don't, then we make them work harder and
- 9:23Speaker 7: they get to that number.
- 9:24Speaker 2: It's like, oh yeah, you just still run. I do too.
- 9:29Speaker 2: I mean, it's the point of pride.
- 9:32Speaker 5: Is high school footall team still runs absolutely.
- 9:34Speaker 2: If if I was a coach of a team, they
- 9:36Speaker 2: would run one tens.
- 9:38Speaker 5: Well, when you're working out quarterbacks, make them run one tens.
- 9:42Speaker 2: But you're right though, the mental what the pressure, the
- 9:49Speaker 2: anxiety that you get like leading every year? Me too.
- 9:55Speaker 2: In my history of playing football, I never went in
- 10:00Speaker 2: to a training camp with any comfortability of my job,
- 10:04Speaker 2: my spot. If I was going to be the first string,
- 10:06Speaker 2: second string, if I was going to have a job.
- 10:09Speaker 2: I never even in high school, maybe my senior year
- 10:11Speaker 2: of high school, any year in college, any year in
- 10:16Speaker 2: the NFL. So you know, I was a I was
- 10:18Speaker 2: my first year in the NFL. I was a seventh
- 10:21Speaker 2: rounder and there was a second round in front of
- 10:23Speaker 2: me from the dimension. Not to mention, Aaron Rodgers had
- 10:26Speaker 2: never started before. He was going to his first year.
- 10:28Speaker 2: And Brett Farve almost came back, if he would have
- 10:30Speaker 2: come back, because he almost came back, and we were
- 10:32Speaker 2: at the rookie symposium.
- 10:34Speaker 7: Yeah, I remember sitting there together. We're in the same
- 10:37Speaker 7: breakout room, I think, yeah.
- 10:38Speaker 2: And he was like, because he was in Green Bay,
- 10:40Speaker 2: like if he decides to sign back, or if the
- 10:42Speaker 2: Packers decided to sign him back, which they told him, no,
- 10:47Speaker 2: I'm out because I never got a chance.
- 10:50Speaker 7: Even though you beat Brian Brown out really fascinating camp,
- 10:53Speaker 7: I had probably gotten that chance.
- 10:54Speaker 2: I wouldn't have had the chance absolutely, so like then
- 10:57Speaker 2: the next year and then the next year, and then
- 10:59Speaker 2: of course, you know, I was just always fighting for
- 11:01Speaker 2: a job, no matter what it was, and so I
- 11:03Speaker 2: never had like the mental I was never able to
- 11:06Speaker 2: be like Okay, I can go and training camp and
- 11:08Speaker 2: just not relax or coast by me, but like be
- 11:11Speaker 2: comfortable in my spot. It was a lot of it.
- 11:16Speaker 7: Yeah, like that because I I you know, I actually
- 11:21Speaker 7: felt more comfortable in the NFL then because like a
- 11:24Speaker 7: l she was like they were all a five star guy,
- 11:26Speaker 7: five star got always coming in.
- 11:27Speaker 5: It's like I knew it's gonna have to fight.
- 11:29Speaker 7: But to your point, like you had a completely different way,
- 11:32Speaker 7: right even going back to high school, because it's like.
- 11:34Speaker 5: You weren't guaranteed anything, yep.
- 11:37Speaker 2: And and of course that being a quarterback, you're not
- 11:39Speaker 2: like it's not the physical component of hitting banging heads
- 11:45Speaker 2: and getting like sore.
- 11:46Speaker 7: So what was like, what was the most important thing
- 11:47Speaker 7: for you? Because for me, that was going to be
- 11:49Speaker 7: the most important thing, right it was it was going
- 11:51Speaker 7: to be being a mead heead being physical every single day.
- 11:56Speaker 7: I tried to put okay, every single day, put a
- 11:59Speaker 7: play on tape at pull back that when you block somebody,
- 12:03Speaker 7: the coaches rewind it and say ooh.
- 12:06Speaker 5: Or like collision like that.
- 12:09Speaker 7: That was it, Like I had to have I wanted
- 12:11Speaker 7: one of those a day where the coaches stopped it,
- 12:13Speaker 7: rewound it and like, hey, you want.
- 12:15Speaker 2: To see what physicality is watch his big meathead over.
- 12:17Speaker 5: You know, right, that was it for me.
- 12:19Speaker 2: I think a quarterback, it's eliminate stupid plays. Eliminating because
- 12:23Speaker 2: especially the higher at the level you get, like when
- 12:25Speaker 2: you're in the NFL, like there's no like everybody makes
- 12:29Speaker 2: good throws. Everybody can throw deep outs and deep balls
- 12:32Speaker 2: and make NFL throw whatever people like to say, like
- 12:36Speaker 2: everybody can do that. Yeah, routes on air. There shouldn't
- 12:40Speaker 2: be incomplete passes in the NFL. Everyone's a pro. But
- 12:45Speaker 2: what sticks out, So like the good throws don't really
- 12:47Speaker 2: stick out. Great throws, of course they do, yeah, but
- 12:51Speaker 2: like the good throws, it's just like, yeah, all right,
- 12:53Speaker 2: nice play, good read whatever, never say anything about the throw.
- 12:56Speaker 2: But it was a stupid place. That was always like
- 12:58Speaker 2: to be like, eliminate dumb plays, eliminate turnovers, and eliminate
- 13:03Speaker 2: dumb mistakes and never make your coach tell you the
- 13:06Speaker 2: same thing twice. Yeah, that was a big thing. So
- 13:08Speaker 2: if like I got a coach at pointer got yelled out,
- 13:10Speaker 2: I was like, okay, write that down, don't do that again,
- 13:13Speaker 2: because if they have to tell you something twice. That
- 13:15Speaker 2: means they're spending too much time on a second or
- 13:18Speaker 2: third string guy, and you don't want that, right, So, like,
- 13:22Speaker 2: that's what I tell young players all the time. Hey,
- 13:24Speaker 2: give me some advice going into anything they did, whether
- 13:27Speaker 2: it's baseball, football, bass, whatever it is. Don't let your
- 13:31Speaker 2: boss or your coach tell you the same thing multiple times.
- 13:35Speaker 7: That's a great point because when you would see it
- 13:39Speaker 7: happen and be like, well, he's not gonna be here tomorrow.
- 13:42Speaker 5: I mean it was that crazy.
- 13:44Speaker 2: You would see Yeah, you would see like uh, sixth
- 13:48Speaker 2: seventh round or astake, Yeah, we all saw it. That
- 13:54Speaker 2: offensive lineman that was a you know, did some did
- 13:57Speaker 2: some good things, did some nice things, but he was
- 13:58Speaker 2: an undrafted free agent or and you're a guy and
- 14:03Speaker 2: one too many false starts and.
- 14:05Speaker 7: On hardcare getting beat inside twice in a row just happened.
- 14:11Speaker 7: And then also like the same thing, you start telling
- 14:14Speaker 7: people like Okay, well you know what I need to
- 14:17Speaker 7: do to make sure they know I'm you know, I'm
- 14:18Speaker 7: ready to go in any situation like never say no,
- 14:21Speaker 7: Can you hold it?
- 14:22Speaker 5: Yep? Have you done it for nope? Can you deepsnap yep?
- 14:27Speaker 2: Nope.
- 14:27Speaker 7: I mean you get to a point in your career.
- 14:30Speaker 7: And I always say this about every team in the NFL,
- 14:33Speaker 7: there's like five guys that are safe, truly safe. Doesn't
- 14:36Speaker 7: matter what they did in cam doesn't matter what they're safe.
- 14:39Speaker 7: They're safe for that entire year. Outside of court quarterbacks
- 14:41Speaker 7: a little different, there's five guys like everybody else in
- 14:44Speaker 7: this thing.
- 14:45Speaker 2: There'll be shocked. There's a few more this day and
- 14:48Speaker 2: age with contracts over there. I like to guarantee. That's
- 14:50Speaker 2: the only time I felt real confident was when I
- 14:55Speaker 2: had my second contract, Like, no matter what happened, I
- 14:59Speaker 2: was gonna be there for in some form or fashion, right,
- 15:03Speaker 2: just from like a dollars and cents. Yeah, So I
- 15:06Speaker 2: think more that you're seeing more guaranteed contracts, right, Oh.
- 15:09Speaker 5: Yeah, for sure. So there was none.
- 15:11Speaker 2: There was not no one when you were playing, and
- 15:13Speaker 2: the first one was four years ago.
- 15:16Speaker 7: Kirk Cousins, Right, yeah, do everything and anything you can do.
- 15:23Speaker 2: And that's how like.
- 15:26Speaker 7: Me and Weddell became holders in San Diego. It's like we, hey,
- 15:30Speaker 7: we need to might hold because it was funny. None
- 15:33Speaker 7: of our quarterbacks could do it.
- 15:35Speaker 2: They just weren't.
- 15:36Speaker 7: But they didn't ask Philip to do it, but like
- 15:37Speaker 7: Billy couldn't do it, Billy Valdic, Charlie couldn't do it.
- 15:40Speaker 7: They just weren't good at it. They're like, hey, we
- 15:42Speaker 7: open competition.
- 15:43Speaker 2: So you're saying it's not easy and it's a it
- 15:45Speaker 2: takes a pretty big skill set.
- 15:46Speaker 5: Oh it's not easy. Yeah, I'll get I'll give you
- 15:48Speaker 5: your flowers.
- 15:49Speaker 7: There there's my affirmation of the day.
- 15:52Speaker 2: They asked, who wants to hold me and me because
- 15:54Speaker 2: I want player performance, chick.
- 15:55Speaker 5: See, I wasn't thinking that way.
- 15:57Speaker 7: I was just thinking, like, they want to add to
- 15:59Speaker 7: my tally of things this guy can do for.
- 16:01Speaker 2: The backup seventh rounder rookie minimum. I was like, I'll
- 16:05Speaker 2: take any playf What.
- 16:07Speaker 5: Did you get your player performance your rookie year? I
- 16:09Speaker 5: mean I could look it up.
- 16:10Speaker 2: I mean nothing. I mean I came in a little bit.
- 16:13Speaker 7: I thought, no, I thought, but the wholder counted. I
- 16:15Speaker 7: thought I didn't hold my rookie year. But I came in.
- 16:19Speaker 7: Okay the year you held, Like, that's a play Yeah
- 16:23Speaker 7: I had good offenses. Yeah, so that's extra points and
- 16:26Speaker 7: field goals. Yeah it was a decent amount. Yeah, yeah
- 16:28Speaker 7: it was awesome. I don't remember what it was.
- 16:31Speaker 2: To look it up. You can look it up. There's
- 16:34Speaker 2: always a way.
- 16:36Speaker 5: Chat gp T all right when we come back. You
- 16:39Speaker 5: love chating, you and Peter Burns.
- 16:41Speaker 2: Somebody said in the chat yesterday, Matt's just ninety percent
- 16:43Speaker 2: chat GPT at this point.
- 16:47Speaker 5: Ninety might be low balling.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Then I didn't use it once. I didn't even pull
- 16:51Speaker 2: it up today. Did we?
- 16:54Speaker 5: Did we tell that story on air about New Heizel
- 16:56Speaker 5: getting mad.
- 16:58Speaker 2: Peter Burns?
- 17:00Speaker 7: I thought we did? Oh no, if I did? Sorry,
- 17:03Speaker 7: mad Well? How peer Birds was using chat GBT at dinner? Yes,
- 17:08Speaker 7: it was like, I don't know.
- 17:10Speaker 2: It's like that.
- 17:10Speaker 5: That was his conversation.
- 17:12Speaker 2: I think they did it a fight tournament too, didn't they?
- 17:15Speaker 2: Who the next day?
- 17:16Speaker 7: The next the next day at the ESPN dinner they
- 17:19Speaker 7: did seeah, we're sitting there is me Flynn during Dusty
- 17:24Speaker 7: de Vorceek, I mean other people on some of players.
- 17:27Speaker 7: And so Peter Burns is like in chat GBT, he's
- 17:30Speaker 7: trying to explain to new like New Heiseel how it
- 17:32Speaker 7: works and coaches old school like he's like, what you
- 17:34Speaker 7: can do that you can ask you a question? And
- 17:36Speaker 7: so he asked it like, who was the best football
- 17:38Speaker 7: player sitting at the table. So he puts all four
- 17:40Speaker 7: of our names, and who was the most impactful impactful
- 17:44Speaker 7: player for their respective college?
- 17:46Speaker 5: Yes at the time or something.
- 17:48Speaker 7: Yeah, so it went me during Flynn Dusty and then
- 17:52Speaker 7: so like Dusty was like, you know, kind of wait,
- 17:54Speaker 7: wait a minute.
- 17:56Speaker 5: And then new Heizel realizes, like what is happening?
- 17:59Speaker 7: And he got so mad that Peter Burns just didn't
- 18:03Speaker 7: include him as a former player. He goes, I guess
- 18:06Speaker 7: I didn't win a bleeping Rose Bowl.
- 18:11Speaker 2: He's like, I don't get it.
- 18:12Speaker 7: I don't get into the conversation a starting quarterback for
- 18:16Speaker 7: U C l A.
- 18:18Speaker 5: That hurt.
- 18:18Speaker 2: That hurt coach.
- 18:20Speaker 7: But he's got to understand one PB only knows sec.
- 18:25Speaker 7: He doesn't allow his mind to think anything else. And
- 18:30Speaker 7: sometimes when you have success, like coach, did you think
- 18:33Speaker 7: of him as coach? New heigs, I still doe con coach,
- 18:36Speaker 7: and so like sometimes you just remind me now that
- 18:39Speaker 7: he played, Hey, UCLA won a Rose Bowl, Like, he
- 18:41Speaker 7: played a year for the Chargers, he played in the USFL.
- 18:44Speaker 7: Like but again, like Kirby Smart was like all SEC,
- 18:49Speaker 7: I don't think Kirby Smart, Georgia dB.
- 18:52Speaker 2: I think Kirby Smart, Dennis Allen head Hunter.
- 18:55Speaker 5: Yeah, who would have thought absolutely, Like I don't even think.
- 18:58Speaker 7: Dan Campbell, like I think coach Dan Campbell. Now, so Rick,
- 19:02Speaker 7: we know you want a Rose Bowl. We love you.
- 19:04Speaker 7: We had to put you in the conversation and you
- 19:06Speaker 7: probably would have finished somewhere in the middle, not the
- 19:11Speaker 7: most impactful last Yeah. Still, you know the top spot
- 19:15Speaker 7: was reserved, so.
- 19:19Speaker 2: I don't know about doing it too.
- 19:23Speaker 7: He he actually did his the end of his career.
- 19:26Speaker 7: He was the all time leading touchdown I think, yeah,
- 19:32Speaker 7: receptions because he didn't have obviously rushing totals.
- 19:34Speaker 2: But I don't believe you.
- 19:35Speaker 5: Jim, I think, but who broke it? Oh?
- 19:37Speaker 7: Uh, DeVante Smith? He had the record ntild Davante Smith
- 19:40Speaker 7: broke it.
- 19:41Speaker 2: I heard of him.
- 19:42Speaker 7: Yep, Doran's pretty good. But he was wearing number twenty
- 19:45Speaker 7: eight a receiver that's questionable.
- 19:47Speaker 2: Are you serious? Twenty eight? That's disgusting. Yeah, that is
- 19:51Speaker 2: absolutely hideous.
- 19:53Speaker 7: All right, when we come back, let's get into some
- 19:55Speaker 7: storylines there for LSU's training camp again.
- 19:59Speaker 5: We'll get to the Saints as well, and we'll do
- 20:00Speaker 5: it right here.

- 20:33Speaker 7: just make three vehicles available. They make everything available. So
- 20:37Speaker 7: if you've got next week, last week, you can do it.

- 21:40Speaker 2: I mean, how can you listen to this and not
- 21:42Speaker 2: just like move your body a little bit, very easy the.
- 21:46Speaker 7: Way I'm doing it right now, Right now, I'm watching you.
- 21:49Speaker 6: No, I'm doing a little head bob.
- 21:51Speaker 3: You guys are I'm doing a little head bob.
- 21:53Speaker 7: We talk about it some time. Give me the song
- 21:55Speaker 7: and get you on the dance floor. No matter how
- 21:56Speaker 7: many deleted we don't know yours.
- 22:00Speaker 5: It doesn't matter.
- 22:01Speaker 6: It doesn't matter how many beers.
- 22:02Speaker 2: Deep you are.
- 22:02Speaker 5: You had a wedding, This song comes home?
- 22:04Speaker 2: Are we already talking? Shout that?
- 22:07Speaker 6: Yeah? He said shout And I think is just one answer.
- 22:10Speaker 7: No, no, hold on, that's I think. I think they
- 22:13Speaker 7: have a beer's deep song.
- 22:14Speaker 2: And I think, like you are misremembering because you poo
- 22:18Speaker 2: pooed on me and I said it. Then after the
- 22:20Speaker 2: show you're like, yeah, you're right.
- 22:22Speaker 6: I don't think I say that. I think Taylor was
- 22:25Speaker 6: agreeing with you.
- 22:26Speaker 5: But I don't think.
- 22:26Speaker 2: I'm not saying it's the best song. I'm saying at
- 22:28Speaker 2: a wedding, it gets played at everyone, It gets the wedding.
- 22:34Speaker 2: You just changed the rules to it. Anytime you said, Adam,
- 22:36Speaker 2: what when we talked about him.
- 22:37Speaker 7: I said, I said no, I said, but it doesn't matter,
- 22:40Speaker 7: like you could just get there and you're like old
- 22:42Speaker 7: had a beer yet I gotta get out there, shouts
- 22:45Speaker 7: not it.
- 22:45Speaker 6: That's the only song that's going to get you out
- 22:47Speaker 6: on the dance woe.
- 22:48Speaker 2: We said the number one was number one? He just
- 22:50Speaker 2: said number one.
- 22:51Speaker 6: That's the show.
- 22:52Speaker 2: It was yours.
- 22:53Speaker 6: I don't even remember, but it was a.
- 22:54Speaker 5: Shout, Cassie, you're a dancer. What's the song for you?
- 22:58Speaker 5: I mean any line dance songs?
- 23:00Speaker 6: Yes, Bro, don't play copper Head Road around me?
- 23:03Speaker 2: Get what give me?
- 23:04Speaker 5: Like a good copper Head Road is.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Getting out there? Which one?
- 23:10Speaker 6: Okay, I don't know what that is. I don't know
- 23:13Speaker 6: that like how I goes, but copper Head Road is
- 23:16Speaker 6: my number one favorite. That or Footloose.
- 23:19Speaker 2: I wish I could do footloose, Justine.
- 23:21Speaker 6: You can't do footloose.
- 23:22Speaker 5: I mean I can't, but it's not good. Yeah, you
- 23:24Speaker 5: know what I mean. I feel like it's disrespectful. Do
- 23:27Speaker 5: you what to do out there?
- 23:28Speaker 2: Jake, you are the guy that probably starts the Cupid shuffle.
- 23:31Speaker 5: No, I'll get in there. I'll get in there, but
- 23:34Speaker 5: I'm not starting it.
- 23:36Speaker 6: I like the wobble.
- 23:39Speaker 2: But I don't think I've been in a while.
- 23:41Speaker 7: You do.
- 23:44Speaker 6: I've been to a wedding.
- 23:47Speaker 5: Out and Tyler, Oh okay, yeah, y'all are one to talk.
- 23:50Speaker 2: No, I love it.
- 23:52Speaker 5: I just got excited that you did.
- 23:53Speaker 2: Don't get sensitive, you all use gas.
- 23:55Speaker 5: I got excited that you went redneck.
- 23:57Speaker 2: What do people say besides y'all?
- 23:59Speaker 6: I think people say, you guys, you guys.
- 24:01Speaker 5: You got in California?
- 24:03Speaker 2: You guys? Is it you guys? I know it's like
- 24:05Speaker 2: North It's like you guys.
- 24:06Speaker 6: Yeah, No, I say y'all. I feel weird if I
- 24:10Speaker 6: say anything.
- 24:11Speaker 8: No.
- 24:11Speaker 2: I know that I know we all say y'all, but
- 24:12Speaker 2: like outside of it, I think they say geographical terrory. Guys.
- 24:17Speaker 2: Is it you guys? Everybody?
- 24:18Speaker 3: You are you all?
- 24:19Speaker 6: Because isn't y'all?
- 24:20Speaker 3: You all?
- 24:22Speaker 5: I don't know. I don't want to live in a
- 24:23Speaker 5: place I don't really want.
- 24:24Speaker 2: I think it's stupid. If you don't say it, you're dumb.
- 24:28Speaker 2: I agree. So what's your song? Uh? Yeah, I don't understand.
- 24:35Speaker 7: Like ste carry Out by Justin Timberlakembland.
- 24:38Speaker 6: Mine was yeah, but it was. Yeah, it was because
- 24:42Speaker 6: that one that won't give me out real quick.
- 24:46Speaker 2: I just don't get it. I don't get y'all.
- 24:47Speaker 5: We didn't hate it's a certain point in the wedding song.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Okay, so all these.
- 24:54Speaker 6: Songs, but it's also just that's not the first thing
- 24:57Speaker 6: that would have popped into my mind when you big
- 25:00Speaker 6: of weddings, right.
- 25:01Speaker 2: And I can I can I say this.
- 25:03Speaker 6: This is my hot take for the day.
- 25:06Speaker 2: All the songs y'all listed are not getting played at
- 25:09Speaker 2: one hundred percent of wedding orcepthing is getting played at
- 25:13Speaker 2: every single wedding.
- 25:15Speaker 6: Yeah, it's getting played at every single wedding by usher.
- 25:18Speaker 2: Yet play it for me. I don't even know. Yes
- 25:20Speaker 2: you do, I probably know it. Just that that are
- 25:24Speaker 2: you talking about?
- 25:28Speaker 5: Get out of here.
- 25:29Speaker 2: That's not playing. That's not getting played every single Nope,
- 25:33Speaker 2: it's not.
- 25:33Speaker 6: I've never been to a wedding that didn't play this
- 25:35Speaker 6: song with you.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Okay, I'm just saying everyone, wait here, we go, I
- 25:42Speaker 2: stand by my take.
- 25:43Speaker 6: You know this song.
- 25:44Speaker 2: Of course I know the song like you didn't. I
- 25:47Speaker 2: just want I just like the name of the song.
- 25:49Speaker 2: You're just saying, yeah, get it, I got it.
- 25:54Speaker 7: Did you write shout or something that we don't know about.
- 25:57Speaker 2: I wish, I wish because it's amazing. All right, try
- 26:02Speaker 2: to get a softer.
- 26:04Speaker 5: Now and not get down there squirrels snap boom, here
- 26:08Speaker 5: we go. Sports sports, sports sports.
- 26:12Speaker 7: I will say this when we're talking LSU storylines as
- 26:15Speaker 7: far as training camp, this is the first time in
- 26:19Speaker 7: a long time, maybe ever, that if you were like, hey,
- 26:22Speaker 7: predict the offensive line left to right, starting at left tackle,
- 26:25Speaker 7: I'd be like, we say, I got to check in
- 26:29Speaker 7: the savings, and I just wouldn't how to explain it
- 26:34Speaker 7: because I think there's multiple people that could play in
- 26:36Speaker 7: multiple spots. And you've got some transfers that have come
- 26:41Speaker 7: in from Virginia Tech, from Northwestern other places that you
- 26:44Speaker 7: assume are going to have starting spots, but we don't know,
- 26:48Speaker 7: like that's not been announced. So there's some intrigued, there's
- 26:51Speaker 7: some excitement, there's some worry. Right, you can't have sunshine
- 26:56Speaker 7: pumping when it comes to not knowing who left or
- 26:58Speaker 7: right is going to be right now? And Tyree Adams
- 27:01Speaker 7: is somebody I'm excited to see. Is dj Chester going
- 27:03Speaker 7: to stay at Center's he gonna move to guard? Brayln
- 27:05Speaker 7: Moore gonna take over at center? Is he going to
- 27:07Speaker 7: move to guard? Is Wes and Davis going to be
- 27:10Speaker 7: your right tackle? Or is it going to be Josh
- 27:12Speaker 7: Thompson coming over as a transfer from Northwestern. I'll throw
- 27:17Speaker 7: it to you as a quarterback question if you're Garrett
- 27:19Speaker 7: nuss Meyer, right, and maybe you don't have the five
- 27:22Speaker 7: in front of you solidified right now, because it's going
- 27:25Speaker 7: to be a competition. There's going to be battles in
- 27:28Speaker 7: training camp to see who wins out.
- 27:30Speaker 5: Is it going to be the people that have been here?
- 27:31Speaker 7: Is it going to be the people that you brought in,
- 27:34Speaker 7: you know for that purpose, because like these are two
- 27:38Speaker 7: very highly touted guys, very wanted guys in the transfer
- 27:41Speaker 7: portal that you brought in, like as a quarterback, and
- 27:45Speaker 7: maybe you don't know who your five is going to be?
- 27:48Speaker 7: Would you worry about that? Would you be excited for
- 27:50Speaker 7: the competition? But say, like center, you got like I
- 27:53Speaker 7: feel like you got to know you want to know
- 27:55Speaker 7: at least day one a training camp, like.
- 27:58Speaker 2: Probably the quarterbacks like state standpoint going into practice, like
- 28:03Speaker 2: you want to have a solidified center just from the
- 28:07Speaker 2: continuity of taking a snap, snap count, recognition, and the communication.
- 28:11Speaker 2: Like most of the communication that happens from a protection
- 28:14Speaker 2: or like a mic adjustment standpoint, it is between the
- 28:16Speaker 2: quarterback and the center. So that is one of the
- 28:20Speaker 2: ultimate from a quarterback's peace of mind standpoint going into practice,
- 28:24Speaker 2: that's the best. There's nothing worse for a quarterback at
- 28:27Speaker 2: whatever age. I remember being the seventh grade and fearing
- 28:32Speaker 2: taking the snap because like, nothing pisses a coach off
- 28:34Speaker 2: more than fumbled snaps. They pause practice, they delay everything.
- 28:37Speaker 2: It looks sloppy, the team looks terrible. And when you
- 28:41Speaker 2: have a center QB exchanged, that is like you have
- 28:45Speaker 2: to think about it's awful. Yeah. I used to have
- 28:47Speaker 2: centers that some of them were just terrible at snapping.
- 28:49Speaker 2: They were snapping inconsistently or there they had like you know,
- 28:54Speaker 2: sweaty booties. Yeah, and it was uncomfortable.
- 28:57Speaker 5: Body type too.
- 29:00Speaker 2: You didn't want the you didn't.
- 29:01Speaker 7: Like because okay, I'll give you example our centers while
- 29:05Speaker 7: you know that when we were in school.
- 29:07Speaker 2: Yeah, Brett Helms who was.
- 29:10Speaker 5: It's basically my size, but just way to eighty.
- 29:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 29:13Speaker 7: And then you had Ryan Miller who was Paul Bunyan. Yeah,
- 29:15Speaker 7: and Ryan was like the number one, That's what I'm saying.
- 29:18Speaker 7: He was tall for a center. A lot of times
- 29:20Speaker 7: you don't want that height, are you?
- 29:21Speaker 2: Like? The height is okay, it's the body composition, right.
- 29:27Speaker 5: He didn't have a lot of fat, Just say.
- 29:29Speaker 2: Fat asses were not the best. Like the wider it was,
- 29:32Speaker 2: the bigger, it was, the harder it was to find
- 29:34Speaker 2: the center. I was gonna ask you. It was harder
- 29:37Speaker 2: to find the center, and it's harder for them to
- 29:40Speaker 2: find the center and their snap and it is.
- 29:41Speaker 5: So he being a little underweight was a good thing.
- 29:43Speaker 2: Yeah, and so the height didn't matter. Miller was great.
- 29:47Speaker 2: They were.
- 29:48Speaker 7: They were both very You don't see tall centers, not
- 29:52Speaker 7: only like the only one I can think of, really, Max.
- 29:55Speaker 2: Hunger was tall center, but you don't see it outside of.
- 29:59Speaker 5: The I play with Nick Hardwick and Dan Copen were
- 30:02Speaker 5: like six to one.
- 30:03Speaker 2: Yeah, there's some centers that get really low too. It
- 30:06Speaker 2: was really like you see some quarterbacks every now and then.
- 30:08Speaker 2: It has a like squat way way down That stinks too.
- 30:11Speaker 2: But anyway, just from like a kind of like there's
- 30:12Speaker 2: nothing worse when you have to go to line of
- 30:14Speaker 2: scrimmage and you're saying a snapcout, you're like Green eighteen,
- 30:16Speaker 2: and you're not thinking about the defense is doing. You're
- 30:18Speaker 2: thinking about get the snap, get the snap, don't fumble,
- 30:21Speaker 2: don't fumble, don't fumble.
- 30:22Speaker 7: That's a feel a little bit different now in college
- 30:24Speaker 7: football because everything's out of gun.
- 30:28Speaker 5: But actually I say it's different. I get that is
- 30:30Speaker 5: a difference.
- 30:31Speaker 7: You love the clap, but I guess the nerves don't
- 30:35Speaker 7: go away because he could throw a knuckleball back there
- 30:37Speaker 7: on the ground.
- 30:39Speaker 5: Yeah he could, but just a different set of message.
- 30:40Speaker 7: Right are you say, like I've got time to fix
- 30:43Speaker 7: his mess up back there if he.
- 30:46Speaker 2: Could like it.
- 30:46Speaker 7: It doesn't have to be perfect. We're under center. If
- 30:49Speaker 7: it's not perfect, then the ball's on the ground.
- 30:52Speaker 2: And yeah, then I guess, like from a pressure standpoint,
- 30:54Speaker 2: it's like, I mean, if it is this a little
- 30:57Speaker 2: selfish way to think of it. If it is about snap,
- 30:59Speaker 2: it's pretty obviously not my fault.
- 31:02Speaker 7: It's so you so you no, you're not which I
- 31:07Speaker 7: appreciate that about.
- 31:08Speaker 2: You, but it does happen. But under the under center
- 31:11Speaker 2: thing was awful, awful because then the center starts thinking
- 31:14Speaker 2: about it, yeah, and he's like he like snaps it
- 31:19Speaker 2: and like make sure that makes sure like you're getting it,
- 31:22Speaker 2: and then everybody else is moving except for you and him,
- 31:24Speaker 2: and then you're late. Now you get stepped on, like
- 31:27Speaker 2: justin fields yesterday. Yep, that's located, Joe, Yep.
- 31:31Speaker 7: I hate when y'all used to get your footsteps one
- 31:33Speaker 7: by the center. You're trying to hand me the ball
- 31:34Speaker 7: and instead of just eating it, you're like still extending it.
- 31:37Speaker 5: And so I'm like, do I go up there and
- 31:38Speaker 5: take it?
- 31:39Speaker 2: Then?
- 31:39Speaker 7: Because it's never the quarterback's fault, then it's my fault
- 31:41Speaker 7: because I didn't go as he was tripping to the
- 31:43Speaker 7: ground and grab the ball.
- 31:45Speaker 2: It was always fun. But ye know, answer your question.
- 31:50Speaker 2: If I'm Garret, I'm not really thinking about the tackle
- 31:54Speaker 2: guard competition. You think, like you said, the center is
- 31:56Speaker 2: like the biggest point. If I can get solidify that,
- 31:58Speaker 2: my job's easy.
- 31:59Speaker 5: It's gonna be a part of it.
- 32:01Speaker 7: Like right now, So if Tyree Adams is your left
- 32:03Speaker 7: tackle is going to be Paul Mubinga at left guard.
- 32:06Speaker 2: I was going to be DJ Chester.
- 32:09Speaker 7: If Paul Mbinga is your left guard, is Brayler mooregan
- 32:12Speaker 7: to take over at center and maybe movinga moves to
- 32:16Speaker 7: right guard?
- 32:17Speaker 5: You know what happens with Weson Davis at right tackle?
- 32:19Speaker 7: Is it him as a former five star red shirt
- 32:22Speaker 7: freshman or is it Josh Thompson as a senior transfer.
- 32:27Speaker 2: If you want the job, if you want to be
- 32:29Speaker 2: on the start in five they have to go in
- 32:32Speaker 2: the mindset what you and I just talked about. Don't
- 32:34Speaker 2: let your coach tell you the same thing twice because
- 32:36Speaker 2: they're offensive lineman. It's a thankless job and you only
- 32:40Speaker 2: get noticed when you screw up. Yeah, you give up
- 32:43Speaker 2: a sack, you fall, start, you hold.
- 32:46Speaker 7: Never talked about it last year, so don't get noticed
- 32:48Speaker 7: in training camp.
- 32:49Speaker 2: You're doing pretty good.
- 32:50Speaker 7: Yeah, name me another job in sports, all sports. Think
- 32:54Speaker 7: of any sport you can think of where if I
- 32:58Speaker 7: have forty reps at something, forty pass attempts and we
- 33:01Speaker 7: see that in cost football, we got forty of them
- 33:04Speaker 7: on thirty eight of those reps, I beat you thirty
- 33:08Speaker 7: eight of them.
- 33:09Speaker 5: You beat me on two of them.
- 33:11Speaker 7: So I'm thirty eight to forty, you're two for forty,
- 33:14Speaker 7: You're SEC Player of the week, and I'm getting replaced,
- 33:18Speaker 7: no doubt. Name another position in sports that you have
- 33:22Speaker 7: to be that good.
- 33:24Speaker 5: It's the one goalie.
- 33:27Speaker 7: I mean, if they shoot, if they kick, if they
- 33:29Speaker 7: shoot it forty times and they only score twice, we're
- 33:31Speaker 7: talking about you, like we talked about Tim Howard against Belgium.
- 33:36Speaker 5: It's the only one in sports.
- 33:38Speaker 2: Announcers have to go out of their way to talk
- 33:42Speaker 2: good about offensive line. Yeah, because like you know, they
- 33:45Speaker 2: have to teach the audience that this guy's playing really
- 33:48Speaker 2: good or this was a good blot. The only time
- 33:49Speaker 2: it ever gets noticed, like just casually, is like on
- 33:51Speaker 2: a screen when offensive lineman's like run as fast as
- 33:53Speaker 2: you can down the field. They don't even have to
- 33:55Speaker 2: make a blot there. It's okay, look how fast he is.
- 33:57Speaker 2: Good for him? So well this job.
- 34:01Speaker 7: Certainly next week whenever LSU does start training camp, I
- 34:04Speaker 7: believe Wednesday is going to be the first day. It's
- 34:06Speaker 7: going to be the first thing that I hustle. Who
- 34:08Speaker 7: is the first five out there? Is DJ Chester at
- 34:11Speaker 7: center because he was surrounded by four guys that got drafted.
- 34:17Speaker 2: But there was.
- 34:18Speaker 7: Times there was a lot of pre snap penalties. There
- 34:21Speaker 7: was some Aaron snaps.
- 34:22Speaker 2: It's not the first five that's going to intrigue me,
- 34:25Speaker 2: because this is, you know, the paths are just coming on.
- 34:27Speaker 2: I know we had spring, but like we'll really just going.
- 34:29Speaker 5: Off a reporder of it to see what where at
- 34:31Speaker 5: their initial minds.
- 34:32Speaker 2: Let me tell you, though, if you want to make
- 34:34Speaker 2: a run and do the things you want to do,
- 34:38Speaker 2: you better have at least eight yea better at least,
- 34:41Speaker 2: I agree.
- 34:41Speaker 7: But the first five I say that just because I
- 34:43Speaker 7: want to see where their mindset is, because I get
- 34:45Speaker 7: it and we could talk about it. You can't half
- 34:47Speaker 7: step into this front seven against Clemson.
- 34:49Speaker 5: So all right, we'll take a break. More OTB when we.
- 34:51Speaker 2: Come back.
- 34:53Speaker 3: Off the bench.
- 34:54Speaker 5: All right, go to go Tommy's dot com.

- 35:18Speaker 7: it for you.
- 35:19Speaker 5: Like I had a unique situation in my home.
- 35:21Speaker 7: It's like, hey, Tommy and the team come out, come
- 35:23Speaker 7: check it out.
- 35:24Speaker 5: They see that, They're like, yeah, we can do a
- 35:25Speaker 5: B and C. And it was a custom job. It's
- 35:28Speaker 5: something that they knew they could do.
- 35:30Speaker 7: But I didn't know because like, Okay, well maybe they
- 35:33Speaker 7: only do templates. That is not who Tommy and the

- 35:58Speaker 1: Say locked in on l s U Football twenty four
- 36:03Speaker 1: to seven.
- 36:04Speaker 3: You're listening to Off the Bench, Okay, I.
- 36:37Speaker 2: Was like, is there a drop coming here?
- 36:39Speaker 6: Pre So you are lying there's definitely saxophone in this.
- 36:42Speaker 2: Oh yeah, yeah, there is.
- 36:45Speaker 6: I would like to clarify that I don't know this
- 36:47Speaker 6: song and Flynn requested.
- 36:49Speaker 5: It, and this is why a laundre is in charge.
- 36:52Speaker 6: He's loving this song.
- 36:54Speaker 5: This is why a laundreamn right here.
- 36:56Speaker 2: That's a good song. Hey, one person in the their
- 37:00Speaker 2: car right now listening to this, not bobbing their head
- 37:03Speaker 2: little bit tapping their toes. No toe taps, studio.
- 37:09Speaker 5: I'm looking.
- 37:11Speaker 4: Just you, okay, go off, Sure you love it.
- 37:17Speaker 5: I love it.
- 37:19Speaker 7: The Saints got a big free agent visiting right now
- 37:23Speaker 7: during training camps. It is not a safety tight end,
- 37:29Speaker 7: no offense.
- 37:31Speaker 6: I'm excited about that.
- 37:32Speaker 7: It was a part of the Russell Wilson trade from
- 37:36Speaker 7: Denver to see come.
- 37:37Speaker 5: On, man, it's nofan you know who that is.
- 37:45Speaker 7: So he got released by Seattle a couple of days
- 37:47Speaker 7: ago and he has been all over the place. A
- 37:50Speaker 7: lot of teams interested in his services. I had five
- 37:53Speaker 7: hundred yards receiving just last year. Really good player in college.
- 37:58Speaker 7: Has certainly had some great moments in the NFL. The
- 38:03Speaker 7: Saints right now tight end room is deep, but it's injured.
- 38:10Speaker 7: A Taysom Hill, Foster Morow both in the pup list,
- 38:13Speaker 7: So no offense. Somebody that certainly could help the Saints
- 38:17Speaker 7: early in the season, and he signed Jwan Johnson to
- 38:21Speaker 7: a big deal in the off season, certainly more than
- 38:24Speaker 7: we thought he was going to get.
- 38:25Speaker 5: So I understand this one.
- 38:26Speaker 7: Even though you are again you have a deep tight
- 38:29Speaker 7: end room right now, you've got a lot of injuries
- 38:31Speaker 7: there and so you can't really count right now on
- 38:33Speaker 7: what that's going to look like. So you bring in
- 38:36Speaker 7: a guy like Noah Fan He's been to Cincinnati some
- 38:39Speaker 7: other places, but he is somebody that is only twenty
- 38:43Speaker 7: seven years old, so still young player. Last year he
- 38:47Speaker 7: had five hundred yards ten point four yards per catch,
- 38:50Speaker 7: only had one score, which is a little concerning considering
- 38:52Speaker 7: his body type and playing the tight end position. But
- 38:57Speaker 7: every year in his career has had at least over
- 38:58Speaker 7: four hundred yards receiving, and he is somebody that I
- 39:03Speaker 7: think right now could solidify your tied end room while
- 39:06Speaker 7: you're waiting on some guys to get healthy. Like I
- 39:08Speaker 7: don't taste some Hill had an a cl like, I
- 39:09Speaker 7: don't know what that looks like. Foster's on the pup
- 39:12Speaker 7: list as well as.
- 39:12Speaker 2: We mentioned, so I don't know.
- 39:14Speaker 7: No offense of the Saints don't know if it be
- 39:16Speaker 7: the totality of the season, but it feels like if
- 39:18Speaker 7: you can get him on.
- 39:19Speaker 2: A Saints or at a point right now, like if
- 39:22Speaker 2: you can get a productive veteran at any position, you
- 39:25Speaker 2: bring him in right when you're thirty two.
- 39:27Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, Freemen even doesn't matter, no offense, not gonna
- 39:31Speaker 6: hurt or.
- 39:32Speaker 2: Like my initial reaction to this was just kind of jokingly,
- 39:34Speaker 2: like why we got Foster, Like, just let him play,
- 39:36Speaker 2: just let him cook all season. But no is a
- 39:39Speaker 2: productive player and has been in the NFL, and you know,
- 39:44Speaker 2: he's one of these guys that could potentially, you know,
- 39:46Speaker 2: take a next step in production if put into.
- 39:48Speaker 7: The situation like he's had in his career five sixty two,
- 39:53Speaker 7: six seventy three, six seventy for eighty six four to fourteen,
- 39:56Speaker 7: five hundred.
- 39:57Speaker 5: So he's been productive, right, I.
- 39:59Speaker 7: Mean, ye, Kellen Moore played nineties, played ninety two games
- 40:03Speaker 7: and started eighty two games.
- 40:04Speaker 2: Right, Yeah. Look at Kellen Moore's kind of history and background.
- 40:09Speaker 2: I know he was with Mike McCarthy for a time
- 40:12Speaker 2: in Dallas, and Mike McCarthy utilizes a tight end a lot,
- 40:16Speaker 2: so you have to believe that Kellen Moore. Goal is
- 40:19Speaker 2: to utilize some tight ends and get them to be
- 40:22Speaker 2: a big piece of the puzzle when it comes to
- 40:24Speaker 2: what they want to do offensively from an ex as
- 40:26Speaker 2: a nose standpoint, So bring in a guy like this,
- 40:29Speaker 2: I mean it makes all the sense in the world.
- 40:30Speaker 2: Sign him, like, sign every free agent you can at
- 40:34Speaker 2: every that has proven to be productive. And like you said,
- 40:36Speaker 2: he's what twenty eight, twenty eight years old, twenty seven
- 40:39Speaker 2: twenty seven years old? Absolutely, so he's played seven years old. Yeah,
- 40:43Speaker 2: Like there's no not one Saints fan sitting out here
- 40:45Speaker 2: that's going to be like going to be judging a
- 40:47Speaker 2: free agent signing right now, and any physician.
- 40:49Speaker 5: And if my memory serves me right.
- 40:51Speaker 7: The NFC South the rosters were ranked Tampa Bay at twelve,
- 40:54Speaker 7: at Lanta at twenty six, Carolina at thirty, and Saints
- 40:57Speaker 7: at thirty two. So if you can add a player
- 41:01Speaker 7: in this division, yeah, kid, you got the thirty second
- 41:05Speaker 7: ranked roster.
- 41:06Speaker 2: I agree with you.
- 41:06Speaker 5: I think you go ahead and do it.
- 41:07Speaker 2: But I'm looking at his salary, like what the salary
- 41:11Speaker 2: could be, and I'm with Seattle. He earned a two year,
- 41:16Speaker 2: twenty one million dollar extension in twenty twenty four with
- 41:18Speaker 2: salaries averaging around ten and a half per season, eleven
- 41:22Speaker 2: and a half guaranteed at signing. So he got that
- 41:25Speaker 2: eleven and a half in Seattle. But now you got
- 41:29Speaker 2: to think after being released, like his market's got to be,
- 41:33Speaker 2: it's gonna have animum, it's a veteran minimum. Maybe maybe
- 41:37Speaker 2: incentivize him up to you know, get him playtime or
- 41:42Speaker 2: incentives up to you know, one and a half two
- 41:44Speaker 2: million dollars, whatever it ends up being. But yeah, you
- 41:47Speaker 2: can get him good price, good player. I'm trying to
- 41:51Speaker 2: look right, just if you wanted to sign to show
- 41:54Speaker 2: him that that new uniform drop.
- 41:58Speaker 6: My take on no offense and just signing people in
- 42:02Speaker 6: general is the same as a draft. Like literally anything
- 42:05Speaker 6: you can get is gonna help. I didn't care if
- 42:07Speaker 6: it was a quarterback. I didn't care if it was
- 42:09Speaker 6: Kelvin Banks junior, like all the Saints need everything.
- 42:13Speaker 2: Yeah, so yeah, as long as like you like structure
- 42:15Speaker 2: the financials corre like yes on anybody, Yeah, all right,
- 42:19Speaker 2: let's let's get up to thirty one.
- 42:21Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean all jokes side like us at thirty one.
- 42:26Speaker 7: I mean I'm looking at the dev chart, right, now
- 42:28Speaker 7: and you have Juwan Johnson again, but Foster where he's at, Taysom,
- 42:31Speaker 7: where he's at your draft a tight end out of UCLA.
- 42:33Speaker 2: In the seventh round.
- 42:35Speaker 7: You can't go into the season with two healthy tight
- 42:39Speaker 7: ends and one being a seventh round pick.
- 42:41Speaker 5: Just can't do it.
- 42:42Speaker 7: Not in a Kellen often like Kellen wants to play
- 42:44Speaker 7: twelve personnel, Like that's what I want.
- 42:47Speaker 5: To do when to come back, I'm gonna go back.
- 42:48Speaker 7: I want to see the percentage of twelve personnel he's played,
- 42:51Speaker 7: certainly last year in Philly, because that's a big and
- 42:54Speaker 7: Lantro will tell you what twelve personel is when we
- 42:56Speaker 7: come back here on O TV.
- 42:58Speaker 5: Off the bench, Orry go to a Pelican roof dot com.
- 43:01Speaker 7: Repelicanroof dot com is the website Repelican Roofing in Lafayette
- 43:04Speaker 7: en Baton Rouge. They are boots on the ground in
- 43:06Speaker 7: both they're not driving back and forth on the basin.

- 43:18Speaker 7: you know, whatever youth sports teams like whatever, it is

- 44:07Speaker 1: Locked in on LSU Football twenty four to seven. You're
- 44:10Speaker 1: listening to off the Bench.
- 44:13Speaker 5: I turn it man there.
- 44:15Speaker 2: Technical may man, you look you hot?
- 44:18Speaker 8: I have you open all that like at I take
- 44:21Speaker 8: your home, baby, Let you keep me company. You give
- 44:23Speaker 8: me some of you, I give you some of me.
- 44:25Speaker 8: You let your baby must taste Appa meet. I'm pretty
- 44:28Speaker 8: sure that you got your own resumee. So figuring up,
- 44:31Speaker 8: figuring up? Yeah, like you, I just can't get enough.
- 44:34Speaker 8: I gotta drive cause it's.
- 44:36Speaker 5: Me you, you, me, me, you all night.
- 44:41Speaker 2: You wait before, like before I fed your appetite.
- 44:45Speaker 7: Let me give my ticket, baby, i' o GV one
- 44:48Speaker 7: of four five ESPN Ben rouge, let me alandra.
- 44:52Speaker 5: Twelve personnel.
- 44:53Speaker 6: Let us hear one running back, two tight ends, two receivers.
- 44:57Speaker 2: Let's go.
- 45:00Speaker 7: Callen loves a good twelve personnel. You know it's hard
- 45:03Speaker 7: to do in twelve is to do it without tight ends.
- 45:07Speaker 6: Yeah, I do need two of them.
- 45:09Speaker 5: You gotta have two dogs. You have to have two dogs.
- 45:13Speaker 7: So that's why it makes a lot of sense to
- 45:15Speaker 7: me for them to sign no offense right now, you.
- 45:21Speaker 5: Know, And I'm looking at it. He actually, like on
- 45:24Speaker 5: Pro Football Focus like.
- 45:25Speaker 7: He great a little bit early early in the season,
- 45:30Speaker 7: the grades weren't great, but as the season went along,
- 45:35Speaker 7: he had his best three games the last three games
- 45:37Speaker 7: of the season.
- 45:38Speaker 5: I like that.
- 45:40Speaker 2: Mm hm, he's peaking, peaking at the right time, then
- 45:43Speaker 2: he got cut.
- 45:47Speaker 5: I don't really know what the plan is there in
- 45:49Speaker 5: Seattle either though.
- 45:50Speaker 2: Yeah I love my guy John Snyder too.
- 45:53Speaker 7: Yeah I love I mean, man, I only met him
- 45:56Speaker 7: because of you, like when I went on the free
- 45:57Speaker 7: agent visit. But every time I seem like you remember
- 46:00Speaker 7: is that? Yeah, we talk about it. He's a good
- 46:02Speaker 7: dude and.
- 46:03Speaker 2: He he made a lot of really good moves in Seattle.
- 46:07Speaker 2: So I gotta feel like there's a plan there, but
- 46:11Speaker 2: I don't know what it is.
- 46:12Speaker 7: So no offense visiting the Saints here during training camp. Again,
- 46:16Speaker 7: the Saints two of their top three tight ends are
- 46:19Speaker 7: on the shelf right now, on the pup list. And
- 46:21Speaker 7: so you've got a player, a veteran player that's you know,
- 46:24Speaker 7: started eighty something games in the NFL. If you can
- 46:27Speaker 7: sign him, you add to what people are calling the
- 46:29Speaker 7: worst roster in the NFL.
- 46:32Speaker 5: We'll be back our number three of OTB off the bench.
- 46:37Speaker 2: You know what's heating up, matt uh, the Gulf of America.
- 46:43Speaker 5: It is a storm season is upon us.
- 46:46Speaker 7: So if you want the ultimate peace of mind, because
- 46:50Speaker 7: we're gonna have bad weather here, It's just it is
- 46:52Speaker 7: what it is.
- 46:52Speaker 5: But if you have the whole.
