- 0:32guide to All Things
- 0:41nerdy guys it's happening what's happening America and Japan are going to
- 0:47war well we knew this day would come well I mean that day has come in the
- 0:53past that's true but it's happening again in fact since I was at the war
- 0:58memorial last weekend I should probably know that yes I wondered where you were
- 1:03that you were Snapchatting me Nazi uh paraphernalia yeah go I thought maybe
- 1:09you just went to your [Laughter]
- 1:13granddad's no no I went to Lukes
- 1:18yeah yeah yeah well uh I guess it was inevitable that there would be a rematch
- 1:25um this one seems to be a bit more light-hearted I don't know I think this
- 1:29is just step one I wouldn't trivialize War Matt you think this is this is just
- 1:35blowing off steam but it's going to get dirty is that what you think yeah this
- 1:39is this is going to Luke why don't you take us through what's going on here all
- 1:43right well a few years ago um a Japanese company made a giant robot just the one
- 1:49yeah as as they are want to do y and this is it's not as much as a robot as
- 1:55giant armor guys actually inside controlling it and they threw some
- 1:59Gatling guns on it yeah right y well now an American company's done the same
- 2:04thing they've gone out and built a robot that fires paintball cannons at like 160
- 2:10mph Jesus and they basically went onto
- 2:15YouTube and went we've got a giant robot youve got a giant robot you know what
- 2:19needs to happen we challenge you to a jewel I was going to say I was going to
- 2:23say robot sex but clearly I was the only one on that one yeah well not anymore no
- 2:30anymore and I guess Hollywood's probably going to make a movie out of that now
- 2:33that I've mentioned it staring Dwayne The Rock Johnson so in one year's time we're
- 2:38going to have a giant robot battle that's awesome now unfortunately
- 2:44America's going to lose this but I know because if you look at this article
- 2:48right this looks like if this was a movie you've got the Japanese robot on
- 2:53the left and the American robot on the right and if this was a movie the the
- 2:58American robot on the right would be the the old shitty robot that everyone's
- 3:01given up on and the Japanese one would be the new hotness cuz it's it's
- 3:05actually got hands and like it it looks like instead of just tank tracks it's
- 3:10got four legs with like independent wheels on it yeah it looks [ __ ]
- 3:14badass also it looks like if the Nazis built a robot they'd make it look like
- 3:19this yeah that's right it's black got stripes on its uh on its shoulders yeah
- 3:26it's very military looking oh I mean the other one is as well but the the the
- 3:29American one is very probably intentionally looks kind of trashy
- 3:34almost it looks like a tractor that's been converted into a robot where
- 3:38Hillbillies made a robot this is what it would look like in fact I'm sure that's
- 3:41what happened well the reason why I think that the hillbilly robot's going
- 3:46to be in a bit of trouble is that was basically just a vehicle to carry the
- 3:50paintball cannons right where Japan have agreed to the fight they've gone no guns
- 3:56right let's let's be a punch f well they have an advantage in that
- 4:02theirs actually has arms and the other one does not
- 4:06so so yeah I think um it's going to be a little bit of a one-sided battle but I
- 4:11cannot wait to see it I've been watching
- 4:13some old Japanese robot cartoons lately
- 4:18um and because it started with Voltron and I kind of worked my way back but
- 4:22there's one thing that's incommon about all of these all of these big giant
- 4:26Japanese robots have hands yeah and they
- 4:30hold weapons like a big sword and I just don't quite understand why if you're
- 4:36building a robot why you'd make it pick up a sword if you wanted to be able to
- 4:41cut things [ __ ] put something on it that can cut well that was one of the
- 4:45weird things about um Pacific Rim Yeah was was when they I mean obviously that
- 4:51was an homage to all that stuff but it was like oh we're almost dead I know
- 4:57pull out the sword well just get the sword out straight away yeah if you got
- 5:00it in future in future just grab the sword first first up and then how about
- 5:04we have an arm that just always holds the sword yeah how about we it's just an
- 5:08arm that's a sword yeah don't give it hands just give it two swords yeah if
- 5:12that's what it's best at make it the sword hand thing I would love it if if
- 5:18this war robot war happens and the American robot comes out and they've put
- 5:22some arms on it and then the Japanese robot comes out it's like oh yeah just
- 5:26pulls out a big [ __ ] sword yeah yeah please please do that and both of the
- 5:32robots have learned fencing I would love
- 5:38that it's going to be like robot wars they're going to fall over each other
- 5:42for a bit and then one of them's going to malfunction yeah one of them is going
- 5:45to the I'm really hoping it's not like that robot was cuz that was so
- 5:49disappointing yeah I know such [ __ ] something that could have been amazing
- 5:54in theory yeah just just wasn't Rock
- 5:58suck robots said they didn't quite work well like the original toy either yeah
- 6:05because you realize that they really haven't made any good robots you know they they
- 6:11haven't no I saw I mean uh I saw azimo
- 6:17at Disney oh yeah um yeah sorry you were there too Luke we watched azimo the aimo
- 6:21presentation and he's pretty impressive because he can walk up upstairs and
- 6:25stuff like that which is actually impressive for a robot but I mean when
- 6:29you're talking about a fight that's useless yeah I mean escaping from a
- 6:34fight up some stairs well if this Japanese robot can
- 6:39walk upstairs it's got an advantage over this American one which has just got
- 6:42tank treads yeah good point yeah I think this I think the America one they
- 6:47probably invested a lot of money in it and I think they're now regretting their
- 6:51challenge to the fight probably cuz this Japanese robot looks like a [ __ ]
- 6:54killing machine yeah yeah the second you take the guns out of it but they seen
- 7:00this right I mean it's not like they went I'm sure their robots a small
- 7:03little thing like they they had access to pictures of this thing before they
- 7:07agreed to fight yeah that's right well this is the thing like their robot it's
- 7:12um the American one it's um two tons heavier it's taller like it's bigger in
- 7:18every way but it's just a tank yeah that's
- 7:24right it's like a tractor with paintball guns stuck to it I do love this quote
- 7:29though from the guys that built this one uh we've just finished tightening the
- 7:34bolts on the Mark I and because we're American we added really big
- 7:40guns I'm definitely Keen to see it actually it looks cooler in um there's a
- 7:46still from the video further down it looks cooler cuz it's kind of crouched I
- 7:50think it looks a bit more menacing Crouch down like that the American robot
- 7:54uhhuh rather than y yeah like the look a little bit like Ed 209
- 8:00with a person in the head it looks it looks like they've modeled it on kind of
- 8:05the mech Warrior kind of oh yeah style whereas the Japanese one looks more like
- 8:11U what's that robot from RoboCop 2
- 8:15the oh the one that actually had a person in it or like a you know it was
- 8:20like a Robocop but it was bigger and gets addicted to drugs Kane was it Kane
- 8:24Kane yes yeah looks a bit more like that so don't worry probably see lots of
- 8:30them up close soon as they take over our country
- 8:34yeah very cool or it'll never happen
- 8:40yeah probably true and we'll find out that these don't really work as well as
- 8:46you kind of assume they might well while we're talking about
- 8:52robots it's a pretty good segue into a film that I I haven't seen it yet um and
- 8:58I'm debating whether or not I should bother at the moment um perhaps you can
- 9:02help me decide Dan yeah well I assume
- 9:05your uh you're referring to ter gen gen
- 9:11Genesis is this how to spell Genesis I mean no let's I mean let's start at the
- 9:16at the title I mean that's not how you spell Genesis right no no not
- 9:21traditionally no okay all right um so that was an odd Choice uh but the odd
- 9:25choices didn't stop there um I'll start off by what I did like about it right
- 9:31conceptually I thought this was a really great concept revisiting the first
- 9:36Terminator film on an alternative timeline is an interesting proposition
- 9:43for a film and I think I have a sneaking suspicion that the first draft of this
- 9:47was probably awesome yeah but it went so a skew so
- 9:54quickly into [ __ ] ridiculous story
- 9:58lines that made no sense logic holds Galore breaking the internal logic of
- 10:05itself and I've never seen a film that both overexplained and undere exlained
- 10:11in equal measures right like for a film that had really difficult to follow plot
- 10:18twists it also had a lot of scenes where characters just stood there and spouted
- 10:23Exposition to each other right um look it's
- 10:30it's probably the one liners that's all he cares about does
- 10:35Annie say some cool stuff not only does he not really say any cool stuff but I'm
- 10:42just thinking back now they don't even have the music in this even salvation had
- 10:48that it's not like a Terminator movie which is weird to say because it's the
- 10:53one that feels most like the first Terminator movie because they there's
- 10:56sequences that are literally shot for shot right
- 11:01um and I noticed today that the red letter media guys did this great video
- 11:06where they try to explain to themselves this new kind of
- 11:13timeline uh and basically they can't because it's total [ __ ] I have
- 11:18trouble with their videos sometimes I really enjoyed the Star Wars ones but
- 11:21then their half in the bag that series that they do I just sometimes they just
- 11:27bug me like they just I don't know mhm I I find them quite I don't know they just
- 11:34they take forever to get to their point they could just talk about the film but
- 11:36they don't they do all these silly things beforehand and I find I guess
- 11:40maybe I've maybe I've joined the YouTube generation where I don't have an an
- 11:43attention span anymore yeah I don't want to be entertained just give me the
- 11:47facts well that's right yeah is Terminator Genesis good yes or no damn
- 11:51no no it's utterly [ __ ] okay thank you all right thank you for listening we
- 11:56hope you enjoyed the show look off air you want to hear about
- 12:01uh my thoughts on it in any deeper level just uh just ring me and I'll I'll I'm
- 12:06perfectly willing to go through it with anyone who wants to call in but uh we're
- 12:10short and sweet on this podcast so that's all how is um how's Amilia clar
- 12:16as Sarah Conor um oh as Sarah Connor [ __ ] okay as a self I mean I just I I
- 12:22enjoy her um
- 12:27but there's this weird okay
- 12:30she the one I've seen naked yes yes yeah yeah and and it's funny because she for
- 12:36someone who's known for being nude on stage and and on screen they did an
- 12:40awful lot to hide any of her nudity in this film even though she is nude for
- 12:44for a portion of it not that she doesn't she doesn't do it anymore she's she's
- 12:48refused to do any more in Game of Thrones from what I understand as well
- 12:51yeah yeah I think everyone in Game of Thrones has though the you get extras
- 12:56doing bit parts that get their uh Thrones these days but that's it no cast
- 13:01MERS no main cast no well they don't have to now they get paid a fortune but
- 13:05you know how in the Terminator right yeah terminator's this huge [ __ ] Hulk
- 13:12of a man right mhm and he's after this
- 13:17perfectly normal woman MH and a dude with a perfectly normal body comes back
- 13:22to save her you know and they're both running away from this huge [ __ ]
- 13:26thing and they're not trying to fight it they're trying to run away from it
- 13:29and that's why it's interesting right in this oh and and then she she bulked up
- 13:35for the second one you know because she's had 15 years to train to try to
- 13:39fight it and that made sense when she was buff it made sense that she was cuz
- 13:43now she's on the attack right well she just did she did pull-ups in the [ __ ]
- 13:47mental institute for 10 years or whatever this one obviously has a new
- 13:53cast and it's got a quote unquote badass
- 13:59Sarah cona so the badass version the version that's been in training except
- 14:03she doesn't look like Linda Hamilton who's been going to the gym she looks
- 14:07like Amelia Clark who's kind of short and just a little bit you know soft
- 14:12around the edges sure like she doesn't look fighting fit she's smooshy she's
- 14:17smooshy like way adorably so yeah yeah yeah but she's not [ __ ] guns blazing
- 14:24Linda Hamilton and she's being protected by Kyle Roose who is as big as the
- 14:30Terminator maybe a bit bigger like he's a [ __ ] Hulk and it just it just skews
- 14:37the whole dynamic of it you know for starters how is this
- 14:42starving soldier in this desperate underworld in the future getting this
- 14:48amount of protein on a daily basis and enough time to spend that long at the
- 14:53gym every day yeah you know what I mean like it's just not believable cuz Kyle
- 14:58Reese in the original was kind of useless almost he was he cuz he' come
- 15:02back in time and he was he was just [ __ ] up from it and he as I recall he
- 15:06doesn't do a whole lot other than warn her and then give her a hand yeah he
- 15:11yeah that I know but he's not he wasn't an action hero or anything he was like
- 15:15no that's that was the point of it yeah he just had to warn her and try to get
- 15:19her to run away from it yeah i' have sex with her that was a very important part
- 15:23of it as well all right all right yes yeah well it was yeah yeah and they do
- 15:28make a fair few jokes about that in this uh which are kind of the only funny
- 15:35bits okay yeah but I mean here's the thing if you change anything if they
- 15:41have sex on a different day John Conor is not going to be John Connor do you
- 15:46know what I mean yeah yeah yeah of course yeah well that was the problem
- 15:49with Terminator 2 that it [ __ ] up the whole story the whole plot because if
- 15:55you stop the the war from happening then KL ree never get sent back which means
- 16:01John Conor is never born yeah because they never slept together which means
- 16:05that you didn't stop the war but that's the which means that he does get sent
- 16:09back which means that he did stop the war which means he it goes around like
- 16:14that it's yeah but here's the thing because before you even get to that for
- 16:18John Connor to have wanted to send Kyle ree back his mission would have already
- 16:23had to have failed because if it
- 16:27succeeded
- 17:11[Laughter]
- 17:22[Music]
- 17:28because the events of this movie Wipe Out the events of Terminator 1 and two
- 17:33so that none of them happened at all judgment dat doesn't
- 17:36happen bored earlier but doesn't this movie take place at the time of
- 17:40Terminator oh for the first 10 minutes and then oh all right and then they go
- 17:45into the future where oh okay where Judgment Day hasn't happened in 1997 but
- 17:49it's going to happen again when miles Dyson's Sun [ __ ] everything up in
- 17:542017 okay so it's kind of like they had a clever premise and then they just
- 17:59ignored it yeah I think what happened was somebody probably some really smart
- 18:03screenwriter probably handed in a first draft and went Terminator Genesis and
- 18:08they went right change the spelling of that because I think that's uh I think
- 18:11that's wrong but go for it anyway and um and then a whole bunch of producers and
- 18:17Executives sat around going oh this doesn't make any sense and that doesn't
- 18:20make any sense and put heaps more Exposition here and water this [ __ ] down
- 18:25um and then put more twists in cuz that's what people want twists and we've
- 18:29already seen a Terminator that can turn into liquid so what's better than liquid
- 18:32come up with something and put it in there you know what's better than
- 18:37liquid you want me to tell you cuz there's a new Terminator of course there is there's
- 18:42always a new [ __ ] Terminator yeah do I want to know not really I
- 18:47don't even know how to explain it is it
- 18:50fire no it's like gas he's a gas
- 18:55Terminator um he's a gas assassin
- 19:01no he's he's uh got this like his
- 19:05molecules a tiny magnetic robots that can oh it's like a nano
- 19:10[ __ ] thing yeah like a nanobot yeah he's like a nanobot yeah so that's kind
- 19:16of what the T1000 is yeah it's basically that but just not all gloopy he's kind
- 19:21of more Pixy you know how is that any better or
- 19:27worse well he can he can kind of take bits off and
- 19:33stuff which I guess T1000 couldn't really do he had to and he had to be
- 19:37things of a comparable size although he did become the floor at one point so you
- 19:41could argue that that's not a comparable size really that's true can you explain
- 19:45this to me though right they make such a point in all the Terminator movies of
- 19:49saying only organic matter can come through which is why the Terminator can
- 19:52come through because he's a metal exoskeleton surrounded by human tissue
- 19:56right yeah that makes no sense how does the T1000 come through
- 20:02yeah yeah I'm sorry even the [ __ ] explanation for the T it
- 20:09makes no sense she can come back just say it
- 20:15can well it made it awesome in the first one because it meant two naked dudes had
- 20:19to go and find clothes and weapons before they could fight yeah that's true
- 20:24it was it was a good gimmick like it just it just it put an excellent
- 20:28limitation on how quickly they could just start their missions yeah but I I
- 20:34still never really understood how The Terminator could come
- 20:36back well that's because we haven't discovered actually that's a good point
- 20:41why didn't they just make some guns and wrap them in meat yeah right yeah or at
- 20:47the very least swallow a really long knife before you come yeah good point
- 20:53they have laser guns and [ __ ] just put put one in his arm and then when he gets
- 20:58here just cut the arm off like he does in Terminator too and look you got a gun
- 21:01yes if they can grow synthetic flesh grow it around a gun mhm grow it around
- 21:07a whole backpack with a whole bunch of stuff bring a dog with you just have
- 21:10surgery to put all the guns in a dog you got the dog with you get
- 21:16it I think we need the [ __ ] crimes logo for [Laughter]
- 21:21this how Luke would smuggle weapons back from the future to get around the laws
- 21:27of time travel and also um commit horrible animal abuse in the
- 21:32process yeah well how would you how would you get around the rspca you go to a
- 21:38vet and say excuse me guns out of my
- 21:43dog yeah don't want to hurt the dog while the other brothers are doing time
- 21:50listen up it's [ __ ] crimes Jesus all right bring a small
- 21:55child then oh God oh boy you wouldn't be
- 22:02allowed you at least have to explain to its parents who you are and that you live in the
- 22:06[Laughter] neighborhood all right so Terminator
- 22:13Genesis thumbs down thumbs thumbs I look I'll watch it when it's when it's
- 22:18available to me here's the thing I was sitting in the cinema and I was wishing
- 22:22that I was watching at home on TV you know so I didn't have to pay quite so much
- 22:27attention okay all right I'm not I'm not saying it's it's a total thumbs down I'm
- 22:31just saying it's it's not what you want it to be well in other films that I
- 22:36haven't seen yet that I'm not sure if I want to bother um somebody's seen
- 22:40Jurassic world is that right I saw Jurassic world oh and what did you think
- 22:46um it could have been a good movie yeah oh that's not positive no no look it's
- 22:53it's a still a fun film but it's not a good movie okay if that makes any sense
- 22:59well it does actually um I don't know like you've seen in the trailers where
- 23:03they've sort of we've created a new dinosaur yep they could have taken that
- 23:07whole story line out and just had a tyrannosaurus re getting lost and that
- 23:11was the only difference and it would have been a good movie right I think
- 23:13they tried to make it too different
- 23:19okay it's just one of those cases of them not actually knowing what makes it
- 23:23good isn't it well it was really annoying in parts of it as well cuz
- 23:27people come in oh we can't tell you what the trans Forest Rex W what was spliced
- 23:31it with like that's a secret even the owner of the company he no no we can't
- 23:35tell him either why not yeah why is it a
- 23:38secret yeah who cares yeah is it is it when do I assume you find out is it is
- 23:44it super shocking when you find out um have a guess I reckon you can work it
- 23:48out is it like a frog or something no no no think about every single Jurassic
- 23:53Park movie his been sort of yep oh all right so it's a really
- 23:59really small T-Rex is it no cuz they've made it super big so
- 24:05it's even bigger than a T-Rex and okay it's super smart how do
- 24:11they make it how do they make it bigger than a t-rex with if they spliced it
- 24:15with a raptor oh don't worry about it magic but here's the thing you don't
- 24:19have to there are other dinosaurs that are also [ __ ] badass dinosaurs you
- 24:24don't have to just make one up no and this is thing like in their storyline
- 24:29they're saying like oh well every few years we have to introduce a new
- 24:33dinosaur so we decided to create one well don't just get a new one why there
- 24:38are real ones that you can bring back in the in the realm of the film Luke what
- 24:42was the Practical purpose for splicing a T-Rex and a
- 24:47raptor to make it bigger and scarier more interesting wh to the general
- 24:53public who are going to pay to come and see it oh okay right cuz yeah remember
- 24:58this this park it's been open now it's been open for years
- 25:03H well they basically saying they even say it like people now they come they
- 25:09see osaurus re as like going to see an elephant at the zoo right like pretty
- 25:14cool but yeah you before Oh by the way spoiler warning oh yeah for both of
- 25:19these films I guess maybe but I just want to say like I've not seen so many
- 25:24elephants in my life that when I see one I go H yeah seen it seen
- 25:29elephant like when I see an elephant I'm still like [ __ ] it when I see a horse
- 25:33I'm always like [ __ ] a horse do you know what I mean yeah they're pretty cool yeah every
- 25:40[ __ ] time one thing that was really cool they had like baby triceratops and
- 25:44things you could ride them how is that not the coolest thing
- 25:50ever wow yeah yeah I suppose at first
- 25:54the first time you ride a baby Triceratops
- 25:59oh well well I mean again this is one I that I want to watch but so many I guess
- 26:05negative things were said about it that I'm like H it's just so [ __ ]
- 26:10expensive to go to the movies these days I don't know if I want to waste the
- 26:12money I'm actually even like this what what Dan said I would have liked to have
- 26:15been sitting at home watching this yeah like it's not I prefer that with most
- 26:18film fun movie it still is but it's just
- 26:22not s Jurassic Park the first movie in
- 26:26probably a year or two that I actually thought I am so glad that I actually saw
- 26:31this at the movies was Mad Max yeah I'm upset that I missed it cuz cuz that was
- 26:36just [ __ ] great at the movies it was like spectacle abely in fact that's all
- 26:41I could think about during Terminator
- 26:43gen JIS Janice Janice Janice was how
- 26:49good the stunts were in Mad Max compared to the stunts in this and this this is
- 26:53the reason that I'm kind of off Blockbusters at the moment generally
- 26:57speaking um and why I I just can't get into your kind of Man of Steel and
- 27:03Avengers and Spider-Man and all of those kind of movies is that all the stunt
- 27:07action sequences take place in the sky at thousands of miles an hour with
- 27:13the camera spinning around them and I don't understand when that became the
- 27:19template for an action sequence now yeah just everything is that yeah everything
- 27:24is that yeah and Terminator is exactly that
- 27:29well do we want to talk about uh the the S ComiCon is on right now San Diego
- 27:34ComiCon yeah um and they have first time
- 27:39ever the Star Wars is there yeah yeah yeah so that's pretty awesome um uh so
- 27:46we'll talk about that did you want to talk about that first or do you want to
- 27:50talk about uh you mentioned Man of Steel so I was going to briefly discuss you
- 27:55did you watch the trailer for Batman vers Superman yeah I watched it is there
- 27:59a new one yeah yeah there's a new one full
- 28:02trailer no I haven't seen it yet I mean I don't want to speak for us all luk but
- 28:08don't bother I thought everyone was going oh the trailer looks amazing trailer looks
- 28:13amazing I watched it and I thought that looks a bit [ __ ] really yeah it looks
- 28:19terrible I'm sorry it I I mean if you put this podcast on today because you
- 28:24wanted to hear us just talk about the stuff we love then I'm sorry
- 28:29yeah this is negative so far this Debbie Downer episode of no I've got I'm going
- 28:33to talk about something positive later on I think I know what okay so we'll
- 28:39that's a bit of foreshadowing for you but yeah the Batman v Superman I don't
- 28:43know it just looked like I don't even know man like the
- 28:47special effects in it just really didn't impress me because it looks like more of
- 28:50the same unbelievable stuff like like it just doesn't look real to
- 28:56me and it I don't know man and it's all
- 29:00very I like Zack Snider's earlier stuff like I really enjoyed Watchmen and the way
- 29:06that the the shots are laid out kind of like a panel in a comic where you've got
- 29:12information available to you kind of like you know there's that shot of uh in
- 29:17the trailer of Bruce Wayne in the rubble of of metropolis I assume from Man of
- 29:21Steel with a sign that says um Wayne Enterprises Financial whatever destroyed
- 29:28next to him and it's like oh that tells me a lot of information actually about
- 29:32what's happened here and so that's quite good but then there's also stuff
- 29:36like kind of the climactic scene in the trailer is Superman appears to like rip
- 29:43the top off the Batmobile and then Batman stands up yeah and it just looks
- 29:47really really silly to me yeah but I think Snider's I think I like all his
- 29:53movies up until the point do you know what I mean like Dawn of the Dead 300
- 29:57Watchman like yeah strike strike strike as far as I'm concerned good and then
- 30:02Sucker Punch changed everything H yeah it was just this kind of like watching a
- 30:08video game and it just set the tone for every movie pass
- 30:14then yeah I agree I want to watch Sucker Punch again because a lot of people I
- 30:20know well a lot of people like it and I'm like maybe maybe I don't know no man
- 30:26we watched it with yeah we did I've seen it
- 30:30twice I'll say that and I mean I don't know if you're watching a a movie a
- 30:36third time to try to convince yourself you don't hate it yeah all right so many
- 30:42good movies out there man touche all right well may Man of Steel
- 30:48sorry the trailer didn't impress me oh and the other thing that I was the
- 30:52[ __ ] what's his name Jesse Eisenberg The Lex Luther he looks ridiculous in
- 30:56that wig ridiculous yeah but it is supposed to be a wig right Luther wears
- 31:01a wig doesn't he he wore a wig in the other movie and then right at the end
- 31:05they pulled it off and he's Bal like le le Luther but he looks [ __ ]
- 31:11ridiculous yeah I don't know I don't so should I watch the trailer watch it
- 31:17because I don't know it's worth watching when I was watching Terminator last
- 31:23night I saw the trailer for Ant-Man right oh man I love that trailer see
- 31:27it's the first time I've actually gotten to the end of that
- 31:31trailer like I'm just yeah I just don't I don't get it and now I eat my words
- 31:37because I didn't get Guardians of the Galaxy from the trailer either no I'm
- 31:41starting to get very nervous that ant-man's not very good at all because
- 31:45they are advertising that like crazy yeah and that's sometimes the sign of a
- 31:51bad movie yeah it's true they're slipping into Lone Ranger territory now
- 31:56right yeah we to the hell out of this so everyone goes and sees it before they
- 32:00hear that it's [ __ ] yes exactly yeah I was talking about this the other day and
- 32:04they spent more money on the marketing for Lone Ranger than they did on the
- 32:09actual film like twice as much or something like a lot
- 32:15more that's the biggest failure in history isn't it the Lone Ranger no no
- 32:20I'm serious didn't yeah I think it is film history Brock yeah like what's his name what's
- 32:26the producer the Pirates Brer yeah he he used to be able to just do whatever he
- 32:31wanted and because of the Lone Ranger like literally because of the Lone
- 32:35Ranger he is basically now has to run everything by yeah he's got to run
- 32:40everything by people now yeah poor
- 32:45guy oh well oh well so Star Wars
- 32:52yeah we uh we're getting a lot of Star Wars films to me it looks like they're
- 32:56trying to do the same thing they're doing with Marvel yeah they have this
- 33:00huge universe that interconnects and lots of stories and well everyone's
- 33:04trying you know I mean Marvel have kind of set up their thing
- 33:08and DC are doing that it's working it is working absolutely it's it's a it's a a
- 33:14machine that prints money yep and that's where the Superman
- 33:18Batman thing's going mhm moving towards a Justice League but why not Star Wars
- 33:25yeah oh man cuz that's what they've now announced Han Solo movie and also rumor
- 33:31of a Boba Fett movie as well all sets back before A New
- 33:36Hope right so sort of in between episode three and four
- 33:43hm I'm looking at this leaked picture and it's got this Kenobi the balance of
- 33:47the Force movie and yeah f/ SOLO
- 33:53Anthology Anthology is that what it says Rog one I mean I don't know man this is
- 33:57a lot of film films yeah
- 34:02look yeah I mean the other thing
- 34:05is like if you're just making up stories in that Universe like a lot of the
- 34:11novels and stuff was okay you know maybe
- 34:15maybe but like a fat Solo movie it's
- 34:19like no who cares because we saw that come to an end you know we've seen the
- 34:26climax of that so what can we see now one where we know
- 34:31fet's chasing solo and he gets away how is that
- 34:35interesting yeah sure like yeah they explain the
- 34:40backstory in Empire Strikes Back and you see
- 34:47it conclude right like there's no need for a spin-off I know everyone went oh Boba
- 34:54Fett crazy but it's like he doesn't need his own [ __ ] movie and I swear to
- 34:59Christ he better not be from New Zealand oh that's the one thing one
- 35:04thing I'm really worried about that they're going to have Boba Fett with a kiwi
- 35:11accent H well look matter what they do I really really really hope that JJ just
- 35:16goes look thanks for those prequels George we're going to pretend they don't exist like I
- 35:23do look this is the world that we live in they make these they're going to keep
- 35:28making these films and I mean they can't other than what was done
- 35:35previously where they literally changed the original films they can't make they
- 35:39can't take the original films away from us now like you know what I mean they
- 35:43have theyve literally taken it away we literally can't watch the original film
- 35:47anymore no no no but I'm saying we've we saw them when we were kids and so they
- 35:51can't take that away from this that's what I'm saying so as hard as they try as [ __ ] as
- 35:58they make these films The Originals were still you know big I have a question for
- 36:05you who do you think should play Han Solo nobody I've got no I I have got some
- 36:11picked out I think I should play Han Solo you go first Chris Pratt yeah I
- 36:16agree and and here's why y I think that the same actor should play Young hand
- 36:21solo as plays Indiana Jones in the reboots I think so I think that would
- 36:27just be yeah I I'd kind of forgive a lot of sins if if they had enough of a
- 36:32tongue and cheek to do
- 36:35that also I like this yeah I think he's a great actor he's funny and he seemed
- 36:41like someone who would help you move he
- 36:43would totally help move yeah yeah
- 36:48yeah I forgot Ryan Johnson was doing [ __ ] Star Wars episode 8 and N is
- 36:54that logged in yeah still eight and
- 36:59nine why do they do that at least sign him on for one and see how he
- 37:04goes I mean it might be all right but Lop it was so [ __ ] yeah it really was
- 37:10[ __ ] yeah it did well it did well though I think we're the only we're the only
- 37:13people who think that I think we are I haven't seen it no no no everyone loves
- 37:17it oh no I did see it it made no sense yeah and it was boring as
- 37:22[ __ ] yep agreed I mean I could forgive the non- making sense bit if it was really
- 37:29exciting yeah I I frequently do yeah exactly but it wasn't it was both [ __ ]
- 37:35and boring yeah oh
- 37:41well he he made brick which was amazing I haven't seen that brick is
- 37:47really really good but it's the only good thing that Ryan Johnson has
- 37:52done all right well before I move on to something I think is positive can we
- 37:58talk about one other ComiCon thing that I thought was really positive oh yeah
- 38:02yep um which was the the new trailer for The Ash versus evil dead television show
- 38:08did you watch the trailer I just watched that trailer before we started didn't
- 38:11realize it was a television show I went I can't wait to see that movie it's a TV
- 38:14show TV show went even better oh my God you know what I think I did the same
- 38:20yeah really yeah I think I just assumed it was a movie the fact that it's a TV
- 38:25show is kind of awesome yeah yeah yeah yeah as soon as it started and you saw
- 38:32you know the old car the it's Sam ry's car I assume driving down the street I
- 38:36was like oh boy like it just looks like it looks
- 38:42like Evil Dead well yeah I mean and it looks like it looks like Army of
- 38:46Darkness you know what I mean once Evil Dead had kind of evolved into the just
- 38:49absolute pisake of itself yeah and then Bruce Campbell's [ __ ] great in it
- 38:55from what I've seen oh man I can't wait like it just looks so good and it's gory
- 39:01as [ __ ] from the trailer I mean the trailer was gory so it was it is
- 39:06actually just makeup that they have which it's not yeah which I think makes it look
- 39:11better oh man I'm really excited but when's that being released
- 39:17uh you know what it probably said in the trailer but I was too excited to notice
- 39:21yeah I think I mat was uh cleaning up the jizz by the time that it
- 39:26got yep first episode date 2015 so it's
- 39:30soon uh it is Sam Remy is the showrunner so that's good
- 39:35good um when is it a come on is it for TV is it for online
- 39:42like Netflix uh it's Stars so I guess it's TV mhm I think that's a channel in
- 39:48the US so I wonder how we're going to get it in Australia set the premiere on
- 39:53October 31st so Halloween ah nice perfect oh yeah and Lucy Lawless is in it yeah
- 39:59yeah I saw that yeah that's awesome well they work together a lot on um Zena Zena
- 40:06yeah yeah Zena and um Hercules yeah yeah yeah yeah no look I'm just really
- 40:11excited it's great I love [ __ ] Bruce Campbell's great I like how he can just
- 40:16make fun of himself yeah yeah his autobiography is called if chins could
- 40:22kill great oh yeah Rob taet producing that's [ __ ] awesome man the old game it's
- 40:29I'm yeah exactly it's like I don't know it's just evil Dead's just one of my
- 40:33favorite films like I know it's not high
- 40:36Cinema or anything but just as as a teen
- 40:42watching evil dead I just [ __ ] it was amazing to me
- 40:45yeah and Army of Darkness remember the first time I saw Army of Darkness I was
- 40:48like what is this it's amazing yeah I saw that one first actually yeah right I
- 40:53saw Evil Dead 2 first oh right so I saw that last right they just I don't know
- 40:58just the the comedy mixed with the horror it's just it's great I like it's horror
- 41:05sitcom amazing all right well so that's
- 41:10positive another positive thing for me have you guys seen Insidious or as we call it
- 41:17Insidious no I I didn't see it no no you haven't seen the first one either even
- 41:23no all right uh I would recommend the first one definitely it was a good
- 41:28horror movie okay uh I enjoyed it it's got Rose Burn okay um I don't know who
- 41:34entertains Rose Burn I don't I don't have a point to that but there's a
- 41:37jingle for it so we'll put the jingle [Music]
- 41:43in uh isn't it things I would do to Rose bur I
- 41:50do there's two Jingles we'll put that one in as well that gives what's the
- 41:54other one that there's uh things I would do to Rose bur and there's who
- 41:59entertains roseburn what oh that's right because I'm trying to remember the
- 42:04context but she enter she entertained us so who entertains her right right yeah I
- 42:09think I think that's probably yeah I might have been talking about Insidious
- 42:13[ __ ] we do some vague things I know someone said to me through
- 42:18the week do you often get to reuse the jingles and I said no not really really
- 42:22no change them all the time they're quite specific and we need to stop doing that um
- 42:28but yeah in uh so the first inside is I really liked uh and I think I've talked
- 42:34about it on here before uh this week
- 42:37because inside is 3 is um is out I
- 42:42thought I'll watch inside is two and um
- 42:47inside so that I can watch three yeah um
- 42:52and I got to say I was really [ __ ] impressed with the the way that this
- 42:58tied into the first one because it it continues the story of the same family
- 43:03and I thought oh okay a sequel but like
- 43:08and I don't know if this was planned or if this if this was not planned then
- 43:13[ __ ] well done because there is stuff in this film that directly ties back to
- 43:20something that happened in the first film like the first film was complete on
- 43:23its own but because and because it's about ghosts certain things happened
- 43:28that were a bit spooky right and they didn't need to explain it because it's
- 43:30ghosts and stuff yeah but then when you watch the second one they like not in a
- 43:36showy way or anything like that just part and parcel of the story show
- 43:41explain things that happened in the first one and I was like oh [ __ ] like
- 43:45that's really clever um especially if they didn't plan for the second one when
- 43:50they made the first one yeah right so so yeah I mean it's a it's a horror film
- 43:56it's it's about the the first one uh and this one are about the idea that ghosts
- 44:02uh want to come back to life so they try and get into your body they try to get
- 44:06inside ears they try to get inside ears I assume that's why it's called that and
- 44:12um and there's this kid in particular in the first film there's a kid who is in a
- 44:17coma um and he's able to kind of uh what do you call it when you you travel
- 44:23outside your body you astral project yeah and when you do astral travel your
- 44:27body's vacant and so things can get in it can get inside here so so it's it's
- 44:33it's got a lot of that in it and it's ghosts and and spooky [ __ ] and and uh
- 44:37the odd demon makes an appearance as well and they're good they're really
- 44:39good uh James Juan directed both of them I don't know if he did the third one do
- 44:44we have things I would do to James
- 44:47Juan we're about to I would do to
- 44:51[Music] James
- 44:58no I like James one he uh he did S as well right he did the first saw and then
- 45:02he just paid other people to do the rest of them y genius yeah he just sat on an
- 45:07island and every couple of years they drive out give him a pile of money and
- 45:11say what could get cut off in the next one and he'd be like oh I don't know a
- 45:14leg they' be like [ __ ] that's genius yeah go away another movie and then
- 45:20while they were doing that he was making insiders yeah so and uh Fast and the
- 45:24Furious he did the latest one didn't he yeah that's right he did he did the one
- 45:29where um he's doing something else actually coming up um James one oh he's
- 45:35from Malaysia I thought he was actually Australian you can be from somewhere and
- 45:40live somewhere else no no no that's absolutely true but I thought he was um
- 45:46you thought he was white is your way is is what you're
- 45:49saying yes no no actually I didn't think he was white CU thought James Way was uh
- 45:55I've I've seen him on um face off he he shows up on Face Off I knew he was not
- 45:59not I knew he was Asian I just I thought he was he was just the Noy yeah like the
- 46:05rest of us I don't like him anymore he is though he's as he's as much as he's as
- 46:11Australian as I am he's as Australian as I amre as a as as a pom yeah we probably
- 46:16cut the bit out where I was racist n [ __ ] it nah why would we start now
- 46:22yeah what is this film he's making next oh Aquaman he's doing aqu man oh
- 46:28interesting yeah yeah so anyway um I I highly
- 46:35recommend insiders one and two and hopefully in the next week or so I'll
- 46:39watch insiders 3 and uh and we'll see see how that one goes yeah but if you
- 46:44like horror movies and I know you do Dan you like horror movies um watch I think
- 46:48I always kind of avoided insid is because I I don't know I thought it was
- 46:51kind of a bit too uh I don't know it seemed a bit is that
- 46:57that one with Ghost Hunters and stuff no that's
- 47:03the conjuring oh I that's the I literally always thought that that was
- 47:07insidia no no no The Conjuring which is the one that everybody said was great
- 47:12which was supposed to be based on a true story I thought was a bit [ __ ] I liked
- 47:15it until a point and then I was like I was mostly distracted by the fact that
- 47:19they kept making out like oh you know can't believe this really happened like
- 47:24it's based on I don't know it's just yeah it's just they got to a point where
- 47:28I was like this didn't happen and I'm annoyed only because they set it up as a
- 47:32as a a realistic thing and it was subtle until now and you and you know that
- 47:36people are going to be going and you know it was a true
- 47:39story yeah and we're going to have to be the idiots going no it wasn't a true
- 47:43story that did not happen the true story was that someone said this happened but
- 47:49that doesn't make it a true story right but then they made uh a film Annabelle
- 47:55which is the one about the doll right which is the doll is in The
- 48:00Conjuring but then they made a a spin-off film just about the doll and
- 48:03it's really good what okay I'm serious it's really good I really enjoyed that
- 48:09one Annabelle I saw the first five minutes of it yeah you did and and that
- 48:15was enough for you yeah you were like this couldn't possibly get more awesome
- 48:19so I may as well just turn it off now exactly reach the peak and yeah yeah
- 48:25left the cinema but yes yeah because Annabelle uh begins
- 48:29with the origins of the doll which are
- 48:32um in the 60s with the uh all the cult killings and stuff okay it begins with
- 48:39yeah it begins with that and then it comes back to like modern
- 48:43day really good wait that's a lie it doesn't come back to modern day well
- 48:49you've lied now it's just a few years later I'm sorry I'm just trying to put
- 48:53the timelines back together it's just a few it's just years later so it's
- 48:56probably this late 7s oh yeah my mistake yeah but anyway it was really
- 49:00good and inside ear yeah watch inside ear see what you think did you hear
- 49:05about there was a uh theater over in America that uh family went in to go see
- 49:11inside out and in cidus 3 came on
- 49:16great yeah and I think at the start of that movie there's some children being
- 49:20murdered so oh are there yeah oh that's what I've
- 49:25heard people get murdered in inside is oh sure why not I don't
- 49:32know I could be making the whole thing up who
- 49:35knows well I recommend inside is um all right should I watch the first
- 49:42one first yes yeah yeah because the second one follows on directly um and
- 49:48like I said stuff ties in really well so you'll get a you'll get a lot more out
- 49:51of it if you yeah it is a similar kind
- 49:56of of vibe to Annabel though so if that's problematic I'll be fine okay
- 50:03good I don't want you to get too scared ly as long as someone said to hold
- 50:09me just call my name and I'll be there
- 50:13I'll be there just summon Nile
- 50:18yeah I want to hear about this apple music thing do you yeah uh have you guys
- 50:24tried it no I haven't actually okay I um I was way more positive about
- 50:31it at first uh than I became later and just issues showed up with there so for
- 50:37those who don't know Apple music is basically like Spotify uh but but it's
- 50:41Apple um and so it exists in iTunes with all the rest of your
- 50:47stuff so you pay uh it's it's pay only it's not you know Spotify has a free
- 50:53tier this does not um so you pay monthly fee be a three-month trial so you don't
- 51:00have to pay anything yet and you get access to not everything that's on
- 51:03iTunes but quite a lot of stuff and you can you can add it to your library and
- 51:08stream it and download it and listen to it as long as your subscription is valid
- 51:12and then if you stop paying that that particular chunk of music goes away
- 51:16right mhm yeah so it's pretty cool right except uh and you know there's a lot of
- 51:22stuff on there I mean pretty much I didn't find anything missing as far you
- 51:26know that's on Spotify seem to be on there as well uh because artists can opt
- 51:31out if they want um sure and uh if anyone's interested uh you actually
- 51:36artists get paid more on Apple music than they do on Spotify except during
- 51:41the free trial period um they get nothing they don't get nothing anymore
- 51:46Taylor Swift told Apple off and so now they get paid um less but well I always
- 51:52found a bit strange that Apple could give away the free trial but then not
- 51:56pay the artist cuz it's not the artist giving a free trial well they had to
- 52:00send out the contract to all the labels and a number of the independent ones
- 52:05said um this is how we make a living yeah so if if you're not going to pay us
- 52:12uh we might as well just close up shop so yeah uh so a lot of them just didn't
- 52:18sign on for it they said no and then eventually it took Taylor Swift writing
- 52:23a blog post about it and then Apple said all right fine we'll pay you but just
- 52:26not as much as normal so um they kind of
- 52:31sorted it out but uh it's it's pretty cool and there's also Apple connect on
- 52:35there which is like uh B it's kind of like Facebook for bands inside iTunes so
- 52:40you get apple connect and you can follow bands like I follow uh really the only
- 52:44person using it a lot that I've noticed is Trent resner because he works for
- 52:48Apple now sure he designed half of this stuff yeah so uh he posted like the instrumental
- 52:54version of with teeth and The Fragile on there wait is the instrumental version
- 52:59of with teeth called without teeth no it's not what a
- 53:05waste there's literally no vocals on there and it's not called without teeth
- 53:10yeah [ __ ] man he is lost if you get on Apple music you can comment on there and
- 53:13tell him what you think oh yeah so so it's kind of a way for artists to
- 53:16interact directly with the fans and like crap you don't get paid for anything
- 53:19that you put on there you only get paid for stuff that's in apple music anyway
- 53:22yeah it's pretty cool uh and I liked it except there's a a few little things
- 53:27that I found like uh well for starters it kind of [ __ ] itself and and wasn't
- 53:33working for a bit uh a couple of days in but that seems to be resolved that's
- 53:37just I guess teething issues um but the other thing is if you already have this
- 53:41the biggest problem I've had is um if you already have an album in
- 53:47your iTunes and then you interact with that album in apple
- 53:52music and try and add something to a playlist it it just [ __ ] up your
- 53:57library like quite badly in some cases
- 54:00and not only that um it for some reason
- 54:05isn't able to distinguish between different versions of a song Sometimes
- 54:10like uh for example on a cell dweller album you've got say five songs and then
- 54:16you've got some remixes of those songs and then the instrumental versions of
- 54:20those songs um as far as Apple music's concerned they're all the same song once
- 54:26they get into my library right and and so it's kind of potluck which one's
- 54:30going to play so like I'll go I want to listen to switch back and it comes on
- 54:34and it's like a remix and I'm like well that's not as advertised you know what I
- 54:38mean yeah it's just a bit frustrating because my iTunes library was pretty
- 54:43well organized previously and now it's a pile of crap so that frustrated me a lot
- 54:49a few days in I've only just started using spotify and I actually quite like
- 54:54it cuz a lot of the stuff that I Listen to I've actually found on there yeah
- 54:58spotify's good um skull oh yeah yeah
- 55:03yeah I I mean I really like Spotify it's just that I thought you know Apple
- 55:09music all my other music's in iTunes so I don't have to have two things you know
- 55:13MH mhm so like for a l and if I'm if I'm on my phone and I've got some of my
- 55:19music that's not on Spotify in in the iTunes thing on my phone well it's best
- 55:24to just have it all in there because I have a crap computer I've never really used iTunes
- 55:30cuz it took so long to load and so slow so you're on a PC that's the problem yep
- 55:34so Apple if you'd like to give me a computer I'll start using iTunes you
- 55:39know it's probably their next step what's that you know and they're so
- 55:42desperate to get everyone onto iTunes maybe they will just start giving people
- 55:48Max well I I got to say h as somebody who has used a PC as well in the past
- 55:55iTunes on PC is is [ __ ] it's horrible there there people are right to
- 56:01so sometimes I I wonder like people go oh iTunes is so bad I'm like what do you
- 56:04mean I don't have any oh you're on a PC yeah it is [ __ ] sorry my bad like on a
- 56:09Mac it's fine it's fine is it's yeah I mean it's usable I mean every time well
- 56:15you say that but every time I get onto iTunes they've updated it and
- 56:19everything's in a different spot and I have to refind everything again that is
- 56:23true they do that today I wanted to update my phone put a new playlist on right right
- 56:28and when I went in the the way to put playlists on is not the how it used to
- 56:33be so I don't know how to do it all right I don't know how to do
- 56:37it yeah and it seems crazy that they changed basic things like that so often
- 56:44yeah I really don't understand what was so wrong with the first version of
- 56:49this well and it's quite bloated now too is the other like a legitimate complaint
- 56:54like it used to be it's called iTunes yeah it used to have your music in it
- 57:00now it's got everything it's got movies TV shows podcasts iTunes University
- 57:05audio books apps ringtones and internet
- 57:08radio it's just IM media like it's just
- 57:13everything but I mean it's a natural progression I guess over time but it's
- 57:19become quite blured like if you just want use it you just use it for music
- 57:22you don't need any of this other stuff yeah but yeah which maybe they
- 57:26need to break it up yeah yeah well maybe they should I mean
- 57:31they've got eye books now that like physical like not physical books but
- 57:35ebooks aren't in iTunes anymore they've got I books well they moved so maybe
- 57:39they just keep doing it with all the other stuff podcast to its own app and
- 57:44they took something that was fairly simple into a [ __ ] app that doesn't
- 57:47really work as well as it used to work when it was in
- 57:49iTunes on the iPhone on the desktop it's still in iTunes yeah yeah except yeah
- 57:56but when they when they yeah you couldn't use you had to use that app and
- 58:00that was just I don't still don't understand that yeah yeah well I mean it's
- 58:07it's I mean it's quicker to get to them now cuz it's just a icon on the my on my
- 58:12phone but yeah I mean it works fine the way it was I'll stick with
- 58:17Android but yeah apple music Apple music is fine it's just got some bugs and uh
- 58:23and if you're if you're one of the people that's meticulously organized
- 58:27your iTunes library um maybe avoid it for now because it it will [ __ ] all that
- 58:33up people have had more problems with it than I have I've seen online because I
- 58:37Googled R to see you know how I can fix the duplicate issue and people have had
- 58:42way worse problems than I have with it so yeah yeah they'll fix that in time
- 58:49that they will fix it it's just yeah that's why I'm I'm a bit hesitant to
- 58:52write it off just based on that because they will fix it they have to
- 58:57but I'm just going to stick with Spotify all right does everything I need
- 59:01to I use it for my phone yeah Spotify is good I I I recommend Spotify I mean we
- 59:06have a paid account um we have the family account the paid one yeah so I
- 59:12might switch to Apple music but I might not because the other thing is if I
- 59:14switch to Apple music Jenna can't use it on her Android phone so oh it doesn't
- 59:19work on Androids apparently there's going to be an app but I don't think
- 59:22there is yet I haven't looked because I don't have an Android phone but yeah why
- 59:26would you well I did I just don't now I like my Android phone it does things
- 59:32which one are you sporting at the moment uh LG G3 all right I love this this is a
- 59:39headline I just looked up Apple music Android and then uh the headline is
- 59:44Apple Loop Apple music corrupts iTunes iOS 4 kills key audio features iPhone 6s
- 59:50will anger users so that's what as Apple users have to look forward to
- 59:56yeah all right I'm going to talk about my new purchase I'm getting this week oh
- 1:00:00go what is that Xbox one right another one I'm getting
- 1:00:06another Xbox one right uh why do you need another
- 1:00:11one you've got one we should clarify have one yes I I have one I have day one
- 1:00:17um oh I understand buying me one thanks L that's wonderful a that's good that's
- 1:00:23really good oh no this is the next prize more will do GM no it's not well I'm
- 1:00:28entering pretty quick to it's because I have one in my I have I have one in my
- 1:00:34room which is my has my computer and my Xboxes and things like that yeah but in
- 1:00:38the lounge room if I have people come over or I want to play rock band or
- 1:00:42something I have to move the Xbox out there mhm I'm buying the second one for
- 1:00:46that right yeah well you can't argue with that logic I also like having a
- 1:00:52backup Xbox just in case everyone a backup Xbox
- 1:00:58yes when one of them breaks while I'm setting it off to get repaired I have
- 1:01:03another one to play cuz I could not go a week or two without an Xbox yeah that's
- 1:01:08see I I often I don't even have time to play video games like a week or two
- 1:01:13weeks so I've been in a country without an Xbox for four months now so that
- 1:01:19shows you how it's been since I've been able to sit down and play a
- 1:01:22game except for Civ 5 man I've played so much C5 and because I haven't had the
- 1:01:27internet for several months it's like it's not even clocking up my hours
- 1:01:30anymore so cuz I've been playing a while
- 1:01:33so yeah God here I go I'm on a 70-day achievement streak
- 1:01:40so need to keep that going what does that mean it means every day for the
- 1:01:45last 70 days I've got at least one achievement really yes that's pretty
- 1:01:50impressive in the last 70 days I have got a total of 496 achievements how many
- 1:01:56hours a day do you play the Xbox um it varies I play today I just spent the
- 1:02:03entire day playing okay whereas yesterday I spent about half an hour
- 1:02:08okay okay but yeah have to play it at least once a day and what about in the
- 1:02:13evenings do you play in the evenings yes when you get home from work when I get
- 1:02:18home from work I either play bit before dinner would it be after dinner uhhuh yeah
- 1:02:24yeah okay I wish I had that kind of time I really do so do I I really do I played
- 1:02:31Witcher for I play Witcher 3 for about a 3 hours this morning I got up early so
- 1:02:37that I would have time to play yeah I got up at like 8: on a Sunday so that I
- 1:02:42would time have time to play before I went out and did all this other
- 1:02:45[ __ ] uh and I probably won't be able to play it again until next weekend yeah I
- 1:02:51got Sleeping Dogs in the recent uh Xbox sale which is quite a long game um I'll
- 1:02:57have that finished tomorrow [ __ ] and I've been putting
- 1:03:00off buying my Xbox cuz it's it's one thing to not have an Xbox and so be not
- 1:03:05playing an Xbox and it's another thing to not be playing one and have one
- 1:03:09sitting there that you just don't have time to play somehow that just seems
- 1:03:12sadder well we use it for a lot of other stuff like it's got Plex on it now and
- 1:03:17and and so it's not like the Xbox is going to waste it's just and that's part
- 1:03:22of the other reason why I want the Xbox out in the the room for Plex and things
- 1:03:27yeah just to make it a bit easier Plex is pretty good on it by the way you got
- 1:03:31to buy a um a Plex membership like you've got to
- 1:03:35subscribe um to get it cuz it's kind of pre-release but I mean that's not very
- 1:03:40expensive and it's worth it I think it's pretty good uh and then when it's
- 1:03:44actually released to the public you can use it for free but yeah it's good it's
- 1:03:48you can stream all your TV shows and movies and stuff to the Xbox now it's
- 1:03:52good I can't believe they shipped it without that though well the I got Plex
- 1:03:57I actually ended up getting it for free because I've got on Android they have
- 1:04:01this Google uh survey thing yeah and when you uh do these little surveys
- 1:04:07Google gives you money and so I used my credit to buy Plex how much money do
- 1:04:12they give you oh uh one survey can give you 10 cents another can give you a
- 1:04:16dollar huh if you had an Android I would recommend you get it how long are these
- 1:04:21surveys uh normally one or two questions really
- 1:04:26yeah huh what is the app called the app
- 1:04:31is called uh rewards it's Google opinion
- 1:04:36rewards okay all right at the moment I've got like $630
- 1:04:41credit that's interesting I didn't know about that all right cool I'll check
- 1:04:44that out I uh I do have a a couple of android devices around so yeah it's
- 1:04:48really weird you can get like a you might get like a question a week you
- 1:04:51might get a question a month it's really you just do a survey at the start the
- 1:04:56who you are what you're interested in and then they ask you questions okay
- 1:05:00interesting all right all right so um I guess the most
- 1:05:06important question uh we need to ask is what is your current Xbox named and what
- 1:05:11will you name your new Xbox
- 1:05:14mhm I meant to name my Xbox yeah what is it yeah what is it
- 1:05:21called what's it called it name on your Xbox when you go into the settings what
- 1:05:26have you named it I I I haven't what is it called
- 1:05:31then I don't know I'll find out okay give me a
- 1:05:36second if you're interested mine is named fagatron
- 1:05:40[Laughter] 5000 of course it
- 1:05:46is audience uh listeners if you can think of a name what I should call my
- 1:05:51Xbox let me know yeah and bear in mind he's buying a new one so they're names
- 1:05:54that work together that would be ideal what's yours called
- 1:05:59again mine is called faggatron 5000 Luke can I make a
- 1:06:03suggestion yep fagatron
