- 0:00The pathway to praise is the the most joyful journey you can ever
- 0:06travel and we have had the privilege of of looking at the
- 0:11pathway to praise. Your journey began the day you
- 0:16confess Jesus Christ as as Lord and Savior on that day when you
- 0:23gave your your life to Christ. The Bible tells us that in
- 0:29Isaiah 4321 that the Lord was forming you for himself, and
- 0:37that the people that He's formed for himself, they will declare
- 0:42his praise. So your journey along the
- 0:49pathway of praise began when you gave your life to Christ.
- 0:54Later Isaiah would say in Isaiah 61 that when the Messiah would
- 0:59come, He would clothe you with a mantle or a garment of praise.
- 1:06He would clothe you with the garments of God, which are
- 1:09called the the robes of righteousness.
- 1:14So because our Lord has wrapped us in the garments of praise, we
- 1:20can't help but praise His glorious name.
- 1:25So Isaiah would go on to say in Isaiah chapter 61 that he would
- 1:30praise the name of the Lord, and that his soul would exult in God
- 1:37simply because He was clothed with the garments of praise.
- 1:46And so we have several months ago looked at some of the
- 1:52components of the pathway to praise.
- 1:58We began looking at the privilege of praise, and then
- 2:03you move from there to look at the prophet of praise.
- 2:08And then we looked at the purpose and priority of praise,
- 2:10along with the prerequisites of praise as well as the person of
- 2:16praise. And we even looked at a portrait
- 2:20of praise in the Scriptures. But over the last three weeks,
- 2:26we have looked at what we've called the perpetuity of praise,
- 2:31that is the state or quality that lasts forever.
- 2:37Because praise is that which lasts forever.
- 2:42For once you leave this life and enter into glory, your praise
- 2:46will be perfect and your praise will fill the glories of heaven.
- 2:55But until that day, we we journey along this pathway.
- 3:02It's a pathway that's marked by perpetual praise, never ending
- 3:08praise, continual praise. In fact, the Bible says that we
- 3:14are to rejoice always. Philippians 4.
- 3:21First Thessalonians chapter 5 the Bible says we're to give
- 3:25thanks in everything. First Thessalonians chapter 5
- 3:31we're to give thanks for everything.
- 3:34That's Ephesians chapter 5. The Bible says in Psalm 119 that
- 3:42seven times a day I will praise thy glorious name.
- 3:48The Bible also says in Psalm 113 that from the rising of the sun
- 3:53to its setting, I will praise the name of the Lord.
- 4:00In Psalm 63 the psalmist says I will praise the name of the Lord
- 4:07all day long. In Psalm One, O 4, the psalmist
- 4:13says I will sing to the Lord all day long, and then Psalm 34
- 4:21tells us these words. I will bless the Lord at all
- 4:27times, and His praise shall continually be in my mouth.
- 4:37So over and over again the Bible tells us how praising God and
- 4:43giving thanks to God and rejoicing in the Lord is to
- 4:47happen all day long, continually, as long as I live
- 4:53on this planet, until of course, I enter into glory and that
- 4:57praise then will be perfected. But the question comes, how is
- 5:04it that I can perpetually praise the name of the Lord when I
- 5:10constantly go through trials and turmoil and tragedies?
- 5:17How can I continue to give thanks to the Lord?
- 5:20I missed all of my pain and all of my problems, and how is it I
- 5:26can rejoice always when I find that my life is filled with
- 5:32difficulties and all kinds of distressing situations?
- 5:39And so we have sought to answer the question how that happens.
- 5:46And so by looking at the perpetuity of praise, we are
- 5:49asking the question, how is it I can continue to live a life of
- 5:53praise no matter what happens in my life, no matter what external
- 5:59issues come to me, no matter how how hard things might be from
- 6:06day-to-day, whether it's hard and with my family are hard at
- 6:10work or hard at school or just hard physically from day-to-day.
- 6:14How is it I can live a life of perpetual praise?
- 6:21And so three weeks ago we began to tell you, you can do this
- 6:24because God's power is always available.
- 6:31Power belongs to God. And the Bible tells us that when
- 6:36the Holy Spirit comes upon you, you shall receive power.
- 6:41And God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit
- 6:44of power. Second Timothy 17.
- 6:49And that power that God has is an unending, unlimited,
- 6:54unparalleled power that's always available to His people.
- 7:01So I can live a life of perpetual praise because of the
- 7:05power of God. The power of God is always
- 7:09available. And then we told you that the
- 7:13promises of God are undeniable. All the promises of God are, are
- 7:21yes, in Christ Jesus. 2nd Corinthians 120 So every promise
- 7:28that God gives is yes, in a son, in other in other words, his Son
- 7:33has fulfilled all those promises.
- 7:36So whether it's the promise of of peace or the promise of joy,
- 7:40whether it's the promise of of strength or eternal life,
- 7:46whether it's the promise of his presence, they're always there.
- 7:52They're undeniable. Because of that, praise then, is
- 7:58perpetual. So because His power is always
- 8:04available, His promises are undeniable.
- 8:07And then #3 His presence is unavoidable.
- 8:12In other words, even though you walk through the valley of the
- 8:16shadow of death, you fear no evil.
- 8:19For thou art with me, thy rod. And they staff, they, they
- 8:23comfort me. His presence is unavoidable.
- 8:29So no matter where you go, the psalmist said in Psalm 139, no
- 8:32matter where I am, you are always there.
- 8:37So our Lord says, I am with you always, even to the end of the
- 8:41age. So because his, his presence is
- 8:46unavoidable, I am able to live a life of perpetual praise.
- 8:53And then we said #4 His Providence is unsearchable.
- 9:04The details in which God works out His plan every day for you.
- 9:09Things are happening in you, around you all the time that God
- 9:14has orchestrated everything. It's His Providence, and yet
- 9:21it's unsearchable. In Romans 11, Paul says it's
- 9:27unfathomable. You, you can't wrap your arms
- 9:31around it. So it causes you to trust Him
- 9:33amidst the pathway of praise. You trust Him as you journey to
- 9:41each day. And Paul said in Romans 1136
- 9:45that everything is from God. Everything is to God because
- 9:50everything comes through God. To Him be the glory forever and
- 9:56ever. Amen.
- 9:58So we can say, as Paul said in Romans 8, I know that all things
- 10:01will work together for good to those who are called according
- 10:06to his purpose, to those who are, who are loved by God, they
- 10:09will all come together for good. I might not be able to piece
- 10:13them all together, but that's not my job.
- 10:17God does all that, so His Providence is unsearchable.
- 10:21I just trust Him to work out all the details for His glory and
- 10:28for my good. And then #5 we said his pardon
- 10:36is invaluable. Because inevitably as you
- 10:40journey along the pathway of praise, you, you find yourself
- 10:45doubting God. You find yourself questioning
- 10:48God. You find yourself sinning
- 10:51against God, griping, complaining and mumbling.
- 10:54But his pardon is invaluable. Bless the Lord, O my soul and
- 10:59all that is within me. Bless His holy name and forget
- 11:03none of his benefits. And the very first one he
- 11:06mentions is he pardons all your iniquity.
- 11:12And because God is so willing to forgive me of my sins, I can't
- 11:17help but praise His glorious name perpetually.
- 11:22Because my sin is perpetual and because His forgiveness is
- 11:28always invaluable. I praise His name because I know
- 11:33that when I go to Him, he forgives.
- 11:39And then we said that is provision is indescribable.
- 11:47Second Corinthians 915 thanks being to God for his
- 11:52indescribable gift and the gift of God's eternal life through
- 11:58Jesus Christ our Lord. That's indescribable.
- 12:03It's inexhaustible, it's incomparable because it's the
- 12:08eternal life, the life that God gives, and because that's His
- 12:12provision for you and me, we receive his life.
- 12:16We can't help but praise them when we understand that.
- 12:22So because His, his provision is indescribable, His person,
- 12:27that's the next point, is adorable, worthy of adoration,
- 12:34worthy of praise. Why?
- 12:37Because he's the God of life, He's the God of light.
- 12:44He is the God who is Lord of all, who is Liberator, who is
- 12:51Lamb, who is everything. And so because of who he is, I
- 13:01perpetually praise his name. So that should be 7.
- 13:08That's the number of perfection, number of completion.
- 13:10But I'm not done yet. So I'm going to give you 3 more
- 13:13today, three more principles that will help you along the
- 13:20pathway of praise, to be able to perpetually give praise to your
- 13:25God. Here is number 8.
- 13:32His precepts are desirable. His precepts are desirable.
- 13:47So when the psalmist says in Psalm 119, these words in verse
- 13:53#164 he says 7 times a day, I praise you.
- 14:04Why? Because of your righteous
- 14:11ordinances. The psalmist says I praise you 7
- 14:16times a day and we talked about this last week.
- 14:17It it's not that there are 7 schedules throughout the day in
- 14:20which you praise the Lord. It just speaks of the perfection
- 14:23and completion of 1's praise to God.
- 14:27But his praise is around God's righteous ordinances.
- 14:31I'm going to praise you because your commandments, your
- 14:33statutes, your law, your ordinances are righteous.
- 14:40They're perfect and I will praise you forever.
- 14:47Put me in your Bible to Psalm 19.
- 14:51Psalm 19, a very familiar Psalm, but because of its familiarity,
- 14:55so many times we we miss the the the impact of the Psalm
- 15:02specifically in our lives. So in Psalm 19, the psalmist
- 15:08says this in verse #7 the law of the Lord is perfect, restoring
- 15:13the soul. So God's law is perfect.
- 15:18It converts the soul, soul. It restores the soul, it saves
- 15:24the soul. The testimony of the Lord is
- 15:28sure making wise the simple then verse 8 the precepts of the Lord
- 15:37are right rejoicing the heart because of the righteousness of
- 15:47God's precepts. There is great joy in my heart.
- 15:56In fact, he goes on to say these words.
- 15:57He says the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the
- 16:01eyes, the fear of the Lord is clean, and during forever the
- 16:03judgments of the Lord are true. They are righteous altogether.
- 16:07They are more desirable than gold, yes, than much fine gold,
- 16:11so sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.
- 16:15Moreover, by then your servant is warned.
- 16:19And keeping them there is great reward.
- 16:24The precepts of God are are desirable.
- 16:27Why? Because they caused my heart to
- 16:32rejoice. And David says they are more
- 16:36desirable than gold. Yes, and much fine gold.
- 16:45Sweeter also than the honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.
- 16:52And when I keep them, I'm warned I'm protected, I'm watched out
- 16:58for. And in keeping them, there is
- 17:05great reward. Not not just a reward, but great
- 17:11reward. Turn to Psalm 119 and listen to
- 17:18what the psalmist says about why the precepts of God are so
- 17:24desirable, and this becomes essential for you to understand
- 17:34if you are going to perpetually praise the name of God.
- 17:40He says this in verse 14. I have rejoiced in the way of
- 17:45your testimonies as much as in all riches.
- 17:54I have rejoiced in your testimonies, in your law, in
- 17:59your commandments as much as in all riches.
- 18:06And then he says this. I will meditate in your precepts
- 18:10in regard to ways. I shall delight in your
- 18:12statutes. I shall not forget your word.
- 18:16Verse 24, your testimonies also are my delight.
- 18:22They're my counselors. I delight in the testimonies of
- 18:27God because they counsel me. They give me wisdom, they make
- 18:31wise the simple. He said in Psalm 19.
- 18:36He says in, in verse #35 make me walk in the path of your
- 18:41commandments, for I delight in it.
- 18:47Verse 47, I shall delight in your commandments which I love,
- 18:51and I shall lift up my hands to your commandments which I love.
- 18:57I'm going to lift up my hands. I, I'm going to praise your
- 19:00name. I'm going to honor you because I
- 19:03love your commandments, simply because they are my soul's
- 19:08delight. And then over in, in verse #72
- 19:13of Psalm 119. The law of your mouth is better
- 19:19to me than thousands of gold and silver pieces.
- 19:24Wow, how many, how many of us can say that?
- 19:31He says in verse #92 If your law had not been my delight, I would
- 19:35have perished in my affliction. Verse 111 I've inherited your
- 19:42testimonies forever, for they are the joy of my heart.
- 19:51Then look at verse #127 Therefore I love your
- 19:56commandments above gold. Yes, above fine gold.
- 20:05Verse 143. Trouble and anguish have come
- 20:08upon me yet. Your commandments are my
- 20:11delight. Verse 162 I rejoice at your word
- 20:17as one who finds great spoil verse #174 I long for your
- 20:25salvation, O Lord, and your law is my delight.
- 20:31Let my soul live that it may praise you.
- 20:36Wow, how many of us can actually say what the psalmist said, that
- 20:47the law of God is more precious to me, more valuable to me, more
- 20:54treasurable to me than thousands of pieces of gold and silver
- 21:00pieces? Isaiah and Isaiah chapter 42,
- 21:12verse #21 said this. The Lord was pleased for his
- 21:18righteousness sake to make the law great and glorious.
- 21:28Because of the righteousness of God, he made His law great.
- 21:35He made his law glorious. So the psalmist says, I have
- 21:39treasured your word in my heart, that I might not sin against
- 21:43Thee. I rejoice in the way of your
- 21:47commandments because they delight my soul.
- 21:52Everything about what the psalmist is saying is that God's
- 21:56word is more valuable to him than anything else.
- 22:00So Proverbs Solomon comes along the Proverbs and says in
- 22:03Proverbs 2323, buy truth and never sell it.
- 22:08In other words, purchase that, use all that you have, give all
- 22:13that you have to to purchase that which is the most valuable
- 22:17thing on the planet and never compromise it.
- 22:21Never sell it, never get rid of it.
- 22:23It's the most valuable thing there is.
- 22:25Buy truth, never sell it, because truth is everything.
- 22:31But for the most part we can't say that because there's
- 22:37something or someone more valuable to us than the truth of
- 22:45the Word of God. And if there is, there is no way
- 22:53on God's green earth you can continue in perpetual praise
- 22:58because that's something or someone will disappoint you
- 23:03somewhere along the line. But God will not.
- 23:09His commandments will not. In fact, it was Job, the most
- 23:18righteous man on the planet, the God fearing man, the blameless
- 23:24man who lost everything. Literally.
- 23:28He lost everything. Except for two things, his wife
- 23:34and his life. Everything else was gone.
- 23:38Nothing left. Nothing was left.
- 23:43His business gone. His home gone.
- 23:47His livestock gone. His children, gone.
- 23:53Everything. His health worse than anything
- 23:58you can ever imagine, all gone, sitting in a garbage dump in
- 24:05ashes with no encouragement from his wife.
- 24:11She only speaks once and her encouragement is to curse God
- 24:15and die. That's all she says.
- 24:19No support from his wife, no support from his friends because
- 24:24they are continually condemning him, because there must be sin
- 24:29in his life for him to be in such turmoil.
- 24:34No prayer group to come around in and pray amidst his battles,
- 24:39amidst his hardship and pain. He has nothing.
- 24:44And when I say nothing, I mean nothing.
- 24:49He says his words. I have not departed from the
- 24:56commandments of his lips, for I've treasured the words of his
- 25:02mouth more than my necessary food.
- 25:10That's what Job says. I've treasured the words of his
- 25:15mouth more than his necessary food.
- 25:22There. There is nothing I value more
- 25:25than what God has already said. And remember, Job didn't have a
- 25:30Bible to read. You do.
- 25:37But he treasured the word of God more than his necessary food.
- 25:44Meaning that God's Word was essential for him to make it.
- 25:49Amidst all the pain he experienced, amidst all the
- 25:53tragedy that he faced, amidst all the emotional turmoil of a
- 25:58wife that will not support him, he had the word of the living
- 26:05God and he treasured that more than His necessary food.
- 26:15How about you? What do you treasure more than
- 26:19the word of God? What do you value more than the
- 26:25truth of God? You see, as you travel the
- 26:32pathway to praise, there is all kinds of obstacles that you will
- 26:39face. Unless God's precepts are
- 26:46desirable to you, you will throw in the towel.
- 26:52You will begin to moan and groan and complain and gripe and
- 26:55bellyache in search for something or someone else to
- 27:03fill the void in your life. What's the word of God that does
- 27:08that? Moses had told the nation of
- 27:12Israel toward the end of his life as he gave the last words
- 27:18in Deuteronomy 32, he says, what I'm saying to you are are are
- 27:22not empty words, They're not vain words, they're not idle
- 27:25words. The words I'm giving to you,
- 27:29they actually are your very life.
- 27:35They're your life. So Christ says in Matthew 4, man
- 27:41shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds
- 27:45from the mouth of God. We can quote that, but I'm not
- 27:49sure we believe that. You see, if something is more
- 27:55desirable to you or someone is more desirable to you, then then
- 27:59the truth of God's Word, you will not praise the name of the
- 28:05Lord. But when God's word is
- 28:08everything valuable, so valuable, you can't wait to
- 28:14meditate upon it. You can't wait to read it.
- 28:17You can't wait to study it. You can't wait to sit under the
- 28:21teaching of it. It's like the psalmist says, I
- 28:26run the way of your commandments.
- 28:30I am actually running all the way of your commandments that I
- 28:35might hear them, see them, understand them, follow them.
- 28:38I am running that way. But for the most part, we, we
- 28:43don't even walk that way, let alone run that way.
- 28:48Yet we wonder why, why I go through life and, and I can't
- 28:54muster up the power to praise the name of the Lord.
- 28:58It's simply because, and it's just this simple.
- 29:02It's not rocket science. There's something more desirable
- 29:06to you than the Word of God. It's someone else or something
- 29:13else. But it is something other than
- 29:16the truth of the Word of God. His precepts are desirable.
- 29:25When we recognize that everything changes, my
- 29:31perspective changes, my attitude changes, and my circumstances
- 29:37will will not change. But they don't need to change.
- 29:42My situation is not going to change, but it doesn't need to
- 29:44change. Why?
- 29:47Because at the psalmist said, if your commandments had not been
- 29:54the delight of my soul, I would have perished in my affliction.
- 29:59We read it earlier when you are perishing under your affliction,
- 30:05when you were able to, unable to hold your head above water, when
- 30:10the anxieties of life are weighing you down so much that
- 30:15you can't handle the difficulties.
- 30:17It's because there is something or someone else that's more
- 30:22desirable to you than the precepts of God.
- 30:25It's just that simple. Just look at Joe.
- 30:34Compare your life to Joe. But you can't do that.
- 30:40Why can't you do that? Because you will never suffer
- 30:42what Job suffer never will. But He recognized the value of
- 30:48the Word that came from the lips of His God, and He had nothing
- 30:57compared to what you and I have. By holding in our hands the
- 31:02living and abiding truth of God, which leads to point #9 and that
- 31:13is, His peace is attainable. His peace is attainable.
- 31:24Now listen carefully, because it falls right on the heel of the
- 31:27previous one. Psalm 119, 165 says it this way.
- 31:40Those who love your law have great peace, and nothing causes
- 31:52them to stumble. You see that those who love your
- 31:58law have great peace. It falls right on the heels of
- 32:01verse 164. Seven times a day I will praise
- 32:04you because of your righteous ordinances.
- 32:06And those who love your law, they have great peace.
- 32:09Listen, amidst all of your anxiety, if you're not at peace,
- 32:15there is a simple solution. You do not love the law of God
- 32:21like you think you do because the Bible says those who love
- 32:27the law of God have great peace and nothing causes them to
- 32:32stumble. You can say whatever you want to
- 32:34say. You can give whatever excuse you
- 32:36want to give. It does not hold water when it
- 32:39comes to the truth of the living God.
- 32:42God's word is true and He says that those who love the law of
- 32:47God have great peace. Not just peace, they have great
- 32:52peace. And amidst all your anxiety,
- 32:58amidst all your difficulty, amidst all the issues you go
- 33:03through day after day after day, peace is attainable.
- 33:10That's why you praise His name, because it's His peace.
- 33:16My peace I give unto you, not as the world gives.
- 33:22So whatever the world has, they, they can't duplicate this, they
- 33:25can't imitate this. They, they can't, they, they
- 33:28can't do anything to give you the peace that I can give you,
- 33:31because I'm going to give you my peace.
- 33:34My peace I'm going to give you. And so the Kingdom of God is
- 33:40what righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
- 33:49It's not eating and drinking. Paul says the Kingdom of God,
- 33:53God is not centered around your physicality.
- 33:56It's all centered around your spirituality.
- 33:58What's happening on the inside the Kingdom of God is
- 34:00righteousness. And those who are righteous have
- 34:04peace, and those who have peace have joy.
- 34:06See that. And so those who love thy law
- 34:13have great peace. Let me ask you a question.
- 34:21Do you have that? Do you have great peace in your
- 34:26soul? The Bible says these words in
- 34:35the book of Isaiah. Isaiah is speaking to a nation
- 34:42just about to go into captivity, and he gives prophecy concerning
- 34:54the future and what the future has for them.
- 35:01And Isaiah 26 verse #1 he says in that day.
- 35:05And that is a phrase that describes the the day of the
- 35:09Lord, the time of tribulation, the time in which God is going
- 35:14to destroy Israel's enemies and restore Israel to Himself.
- 35:21In that day. This song will be sung in the
- 35:25land of Judah. We have a strong city.
- 35:31He sets up walls and ramparts for security.
- 35:39We have a strong city. He's protected us.
- 35:47He's put up the walls and ramparts around us.
- 35:51Song that will be sung. Open the gates the righteous
- 35:58nation may enter. The one that remains faithful.
- 36:05The steadfast of mind. You will keep in perfect peace
- 36:13those whose mind is fixed on you, those whose mind is
- 36:19completely focused on you, you will keep in perfect peace,
- 36:29peace, peace. In the Hebrew, it's the
- 36:34constancy of God's peace. It cannot be imitated.
- 36:42It cannot be copied. The world cannot give it.
- 36:48No amount of money will suffice. No amount of relationships will
- 36:54suffice. Only the God of peace, the
- 37:04steadfast of mine, you will keep in perfect peace.
- 37:07Because He trusts in you. His peace is attainable, but you
- 37:17most completely focus upon Him so that you will only trust Him
- 37:24and no one else, and nothing else.
- 37:29For in God the Lord, we have an everlasting rock.
- 37:43Let me ask you a question today. Do you have peace in your soul?
- 37:50You have peace because you're no longer an enemy of God, but
- 37:52you're now a friend of God because you've been reconciled
- 37:56to God, that you are now a child of the Kingdom of God.
- 38:03Is that you? Do you have that kind of peace?
- 38:07You have the kind of peace that allows you to live in situations
- 38:12and circumstances that even though they're they're filled
- 38:15with turmoil and filled with all kinds of difficulty.
- 38:18Your soul is at rest because it trusts in the Lord.
- 38:24It waits upon the Lord. It's at peace, inner peace.
- 38:33The Bible says in the book of Romans.
- 38:37I'm sorry, the book of Second Thessalonians.
- 38:39My bad. Second Thessalonians 3 verse
- 38:42number #16 Now may the Lord of peace himself continually grant
- 38:53you peace in every circumstance. What a prayer.
- 39:00Now may the the Lord of peace grant you peace in every
- 39:05circumstance, in every situation.
- 39:08May you be at peace in your soul.
- 39:12May you be at rest in your soul because you trust in the Lord
- 39:15who is your rock. His peace is attainable.
- 39:22The steadfast mind will be kept in in perfect peace, will be
- 39:29kept in the kind of peace that God himself experienced while he
- 39:36went through trials in this life.
- 39:43Because God's peace is attainable.
- 39:46I can't help but praise Him. I can't help but thank Him.
- 39:53I can't help but rejoice in the name of God.
- 39:59Perpetual praise happens because because His precepts are
- 40:04desirable. More desirable than than fine
- 40:07gold, Yes, then the drippings of the honeycomb, more valuable to
- 40:14me than thousands of gold and pieces of silver than all the
- 40:17spoils in the world. Because his precepts are
- 40:23desirable. His peace, then, is attainable
- 40:26because great peace have those who love.
- 40:29Thy law. If you do not have peace, it's
- 40:37because you love something more than you love the law of God.
- 40:42If if you have something more desirable to you than the
- 40:49presets of God, you will not praise His name.
- 40:54You just won't. But if they are, then praise is
- 41:02given 7 times a day. From the rising of the sun to
- 41:07the to it's setting. The name of the Lord will be
- 41:10praised and #10 this will be our last one.
- 41:17I have many, many more, but I don't want to have a the
- 41:22perpetuity of sermons on the same subject, so I'm going to
- 41:26give you the last one. OK, listen carefully.
- 41:30It has to be AP word because all the other ones begin with P,
- 41:36right? So here it goes.
- 41:40Listen carefully. His parocia is inescapable.
- 41:52His parocia? What is that?
- 41:54It's just coming. It's the word in the Greek that
- 41:59describes the coming of God and the subsequent presence.
- 42:03So you can actually say his, his second coming is inescapable.
- 42:09But to maintain the alliteration, his parousia is
- 42:12inescapable. His, his coming again is without
- 42:16a doubt our our Lord is coming again.
- 42:21And if this doesn't help you learn to praise the name of the
- 42:25Lord perpetually, then I have no hope for you because everything
- 42:31centers on the future in the coming Kingdom of God.
- 42:36That one day we will see Him face to face and we'll be like
- 42:39him, for we'll see Him as He is. And every, every New Testament
- 42:45writer had this hope in him. This was the anticipation that
- 42:51motivated them to live for the glory of God, to keep their
- 42:56lives pure before God, knowing that Jesus could come at any
- 43:01moment. They they live in anticipation
- 43:04of that. It is the, the glorious
- 43:09appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ our Lord.
- 43:14So many times you, you talk about the coming of Jesus and
- 43:17you talk about his return and, and, and people, people can
- 43:22become numb to that. I don't understand that because
- 43:29the crown of righteousness is available to all those who long
- 43:32for his appearing. There should be this longing in
- 43:35your in your heart, this line in your soul to to lead this life
- 43:40and enter into God's glorious presence should motivate us.
- 43:49And Paul would say these words very familiar to us.
- 43:53First Thessalonians 4 verse #16 For the Lord himself will
- 43:58descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the
- 44:02Archangel, and with the trumpet of God.
- 44:06And the dead in Christ will rise first.
- 44:09Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with
- 44:12them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.
- 44:17So shall we always be with the Lord.
- 44:21Therefore comfort one another with these words.
- 44:29With what words? The words of the arrival of the
- 44:35Messiah. He's going to come.
- 44:40And those who have already died in Christ, those of you who've
- 44:45had husbands or wives, who have already gone to the presence of
- 44:48the Lord, they're bodies of rise first.
- 44:52And we who are alive remain, shall be caught up together with
- 44:54him in the clouds, in the air. And so shall we ever be with the
- 45:00Lord. That great reunion and glory.
- 45:06His parousia is inescapable. It's coming, it could be at any
- 45:13moment. And for those who do not live in
- 45:19light of his return, those who do not love His return, those
- 45:30who do not long for His return, will have a hard time living a
- 45:38life of perpetual praise. But those who do, they wake
- 45:45every morning from the rising of the sun to its setting.
- 45:51Today could be the day Jesus could come at any moment, and
- 45:56we're always living in anticipation of that.
- 46:00We praise the fact that because we're his children, that one day
- 46:06we will be with Him for all eternity.
- 46:10May God give us the grace to understand these principles so
- 46:15that as we travel the pathway to praise, our praise for Him will
- 46:21be perpetual. Let's pray together.
- 46:26Lord God, we thank you for today.
- 46:30We thank you, Lord, that we've had this opportunity to be
- 46:34together and to be reminded once again of how it is we are to
- 46:41rejoice. Always give thanks in everything
- 46:44and for everything to sing all day the praises of His name, to
- 46:57magnify the name of the Lord continually.
- 47:02We thank you, Lord, that as we open your word, you're able to
- 47:06help us move along the life of perpetual praise.
- 47:15My prayer, Lord, for all of us, myself included, that Lord, our
- 47:22lives would be marked by exulting in our God and that
- 47:29those who see us and watch us, they would see a joy and
- 47:37excitement, a life filled with praise to our God, that they
- 47:47might wonder what is it that causes you to live that way in
- 47:53such joy and excitement for your God.
- 47:59And we would have the opportunity to explain to them,
- 48:03we are at peace with God. We understand the person of God,
- 48:09His provision indescribable. But let me try to describe it
- 48:15for you. For the gift of God's eternal
- 48:19life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
- 48:24Pray this in the name of our soon coming King, Jesus Christ
- 48:29our Lord, Amen.
