- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I Almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:06Speaker 2: Hey everyone, we're back the two of us the almost
- 0:09Speaker 2: in this podcast, which is great. So we wanted to
- 0:12Speaker 2: talk about Ben's trip to Italy. You went with Jess
- 0:15Speaker 2: and then both sets of parents, which is really nice.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Is that the first trip you guys went on with
- 0:19Speaker 2: both sets of parents, like, you know, a vacation.
- 0:22Speaker 3: Vacation.
- 0:23Speaker 4: No, we've done Christmas now together two years in eg
- 0:26Speaker 4: Oh yeah, duh. So I mean, first off, it's good
- 0:31Speaker 4: to be back. It's nice to be here.
- 0:32Speaker 3: Thanks, We're so happy. We're happy to have you.
- 0:35Speaker 5: Yeah. You you were busy when I was.
- 0:37Speaker 3: I was, we had quite a bit.
- 0:39Speaker 4: You're pumping out some great episodes. Make sure you go
- 0:41Speaker 4: back and listen to those. But I am. I am
- 0:44Speaker 4: happy to come back and hang out with you and
- 0:46Speaker 4: be with the team. So we've done Christmas together a
- 0:49Speaker 4: few years in a row. We do it because.
- 0:53Speaker 3: Because your in laws get along so well, isn't it
- 0:55Speaker 3: nice to have that. My parents take along really well
- 0:57Speaker 3: with Jarry's parents, it is.
- 0:58Speaker 4: And I'm an only child, so that's a good piece, right,
- 1:01Speaker 4: So you know, I think for me, there is obviously
- 1:06Speaker 4: the desire, the want to spend holidays with my family. However,
- 1:10Speaker 4: you know we aren't going to be able to do
- 1:12Speaker 4: that forever where we go on vacation for a holiday
- 1:15Speaker 4: because kids will come into play, and you know, Justic's
- 1:18Speaker 4: parents are about to become grandparents here in about I
- 1:22Speaker 4: don't know, a week, and so we wanted to take
- 1:25Speaker 4: advantage of the time that we had. Italy was for
- 1:28Speaker 4: a few things. One, my mom just turned sixty, her
- 1:33Speaker 4: dad just as dad just turned sixty, Her mom is Italian,
- 1:37Speaker 4: has never been to Italy, and my dad is retiring soon.
- 1:40Speaker 4: And so this was kind of a last year when
- 1:43Speaker 4: Jess and I are like, there's so many big things
- 1:45Speaker 4: happening in our family's lives. What could we do with
- 1:49Speaker 4: them to like celebrate it and to make a memory together?
- 1:53Speaker 4: And so Italy was the obvious choice because it's Italy.
- 1:56Speaker 4: And so we went to Rome, we went to Florence,
- 2:00Speaker 4: we went to Pompeii, and then we went down to
- 2:03Speaker 4: the Amalfi Coast and spent five days in the Malfy
- 2:05Speaker 4: coast doing like a lemon tour with an incredible company.
- 2:08Speaker 4: If anybody wants any lemon tour recommendations, it was amazing.
- 2:14Speaker 3: Is awesome.
- 2:15Speaker 2: I've been all those places. I've been to Italy three
- 2:17Speaker 2: times now, just crazy. I know, well, once for a wedding,
- 2:21Speaker 2: once for our honeymoon, and then once we did a
- 2:24Speaker 2: Mediterranean cruise with my family, so.
- 2:26Speaker 3: We like hit all those little spots. So all those
- 2:30Speaker 3: little spots, you know, like realm. So of all the places,
- 2:33Speaker 3: where did you think was the best food.
- 2:37Speaker 4: I think the best food that we had had to
- 2:40Speaker 4: be in like on the Malfy Coast.
- 2:43Speaker 3: Oh really, okay, So are you a seafood guy.
- 2:46Speaker 5: Well, I'm allergic to shellfish.
- 2:48Speaker 4: Oh that's right, but I like, I mean, I'm obviously
- 2:50Speaker 4: a huge fish fan. I just can't have the you know,
- 2:53Speaker 4: shrimp and lobsters and clams. I think Rome everybody when
- 2:58Speaker 4: I was going to Italy kind of said, hey, Rome
- 3:00Speaker 4: a big city. Like it's just a big city. It's
- 3:02Speaker 4: gonna be hectic, you know, there's things to do, but
- 3:05Speaker 4: it's it's just a big city. I loved Rome. I
- 3:08Speaker 4: personally found Rome to be very exciting. Around every corner
- 3:12Speaker 4: there's history. There's obviously so much of our kind of
- 3:17Speaker 4: Western civilization was kind of like built there, like the
- 3:21Speaker 4: foundation of it, and then you know, obviously as somebody
- 3:25Speaker 4: who is a Christian, like, there's so much biblical history
- 3:29Speaker 4: in Rome with you know, Paul and Peter and then
- 3:32Speaker 4: obviously the Roman Empire. So for me, I was just
- 3:35Speaker 4: kind of infatuated the whole time with Rome. We had
- 3:39Speaker 4: great food in Rome. We went to some restaurants there
- 3:42Speaker 4: in Rome, and a little neighborhood. I'm gonna say it wrong,
- 3:46Speaker 4: Jessico would say it right, but it's called Traverse. I
- 3:50Speaker 4: think it was the name of it, and it was.
- 3:51Speaker 4: It was full of good food and good drink. Here's
- 3:54Speaker 4: what I'm gonna do, Ashley. I'm gonna upload. I have
- 3:58Speaker 4: the whole because I planned this trip for my face.
- 4:00Speaker 4: It's kind of like something I wanted to do.
- 4:02Speaker 3: That's so cool. I love that.
- 4:03Speaker 4: I'm going to upload kind of our agenda I haven't
- 4:07Speaker 4: written down and so everybody can see and if they're
- 4:09Speaker 4: going to Italy soon. I got a lot of messages
- 4:12Speaker 4: on social media that people are like, hey, I'm going
- 4:14Speaker 4: to Italy next.
- 4:14Speaker 5: Year or next week or whatever.
- 4:16Speaker 4: I'll just upload it and if people want to kind
- 4:17Speaker 4: of follow it and know where we ate and where
- 4:19Speaker 4: we stayed. We stayed in a Mafi Coast at in
- 4:23Speaker 4: a little town called Maori. It's way down south. We
- 4:29Speaker 4: did it because it's less expensive and it has a
- 4:31Speaker 4: port so we could get around them offy coast by boat.
- 4:34Speaker 4: And I would recommend staying in a little town called Minori,
- 4:39Speaker 4: which is right next to it, less expensive, doesn't have
- 4:41Speaker 4: the hustle and bustle of other places, has amazing food,
- 4:45Speaker 4: very local.
- 4:47Speaker 5: So I'll just upload it if people want to follow it.
- 4:49Speaker 3: Cool, it's a great idea. I agree. I mean I
- 4:51Speaker 3: liked I even like Roam's food the most.
- 4:54Speaker 5: Yeah, that's great.
- 4:55Speaker 2: I was obsessed with just the architecture there and just
- 4:59Speaker 2: walk around the little alleys. I can just do that
- 5:02Speaker 2: all day and just be in awe of It's like
- 5:05Speaker 2: what every building looks like is just gorgeous.
- 5:08Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 5:09Speaker 4: I have a little bone to pick with the US
- 5:11Speaker 4: coming back from Rome.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Yeah, why don't we put effort into our buildings the
- 5:16Speaker 2: way that they put effort in.
- 5:20Speaker 4: So I live obviously in Denver. Here's like my opinion.
- 5:23Speaker 4: I would love for people to argue with me on it,
- 5:25Speaker 4: just because I think it's It's one I want to
- 5:27Speaker 4: learn more about, and I think I learned more when
- 5:29Speaker 4: people kind of come back with other sides.
- 5:32Speaker 5: Uh.
- 5:32Speaker 4: You know, Rome Italy, Italy in general has buildings that
- 5:36Speaker 4: are thousands of years old. Some of these buildings are
- 5:39Speaker 4: still standing. Some of these buildings have been refurbished and
- 5:42Speaker 4: are being used as amazing like condos and apartments and restaurants.
- 5:48Speaker 4: Well in the US, obviously, I work in the restaurant world,
- 5:52Speaker 4: and I obviously have a coffee company in coffee shops
- 5:56Speaker 4: in the US.
- 5:57Speaker 5: All of our licensing.
- 6:02Speaker 4: To get any type of food prep you have to
- 6:05Speaker 4: have cleanable walls and ceilings, which mean you can't have
- 6:07Speaker 4: brick like walls in a kitchen. I get that. There's
- 6:11Speaker 4: issues to that. I get to like there's some sanitation issues. However,
- 6:14Speaker 4: there has to be a good medium because I want
- 6:17Speaker 4: to see our one hundred year old buildings, one hundred
- 6:19Speaker 4: and fifty year old buildings still be used here in
- 6:22Speaker 4: the US, because there's something special about sitting in the
- 6:24Speaker 4: basement of a like a thousand year old building and
- 6:28Speaker 4: having dinner and breaking bread where people have done it
- 6:30Speaker 4: for like years and years. It's very sacred, it's very special,
- 6:35Speaker 4: and I miss that here. I don't want everything to
- 6:38Speaker 4: be sterile here. I kind of want to have the
- 6:40Speaker 4: I want to have some grease on the walls, I
- 6:42Speaker 4: guess personally, Yeah.
- 6:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I completely agree with that. Do you feel like
- 6:47Speaker 2: this is another thing with America? Like I believe me,
- 6:50Speaker 2: I am. I'm an American girl, and every time I
- 6:53Speaker 2: go abroad, I am so excited, honestly to come back
- 6:58Speaker 2: to America, you.
- 6:59Speaker 3: Know, just like missed the conveniences and like, you know,
- 7:02Speaker 3: but like it.
- 7:03Speaker 2: It's great to go there and experience it, and then
- 7:06Speaker 2: it's also great to know that you can come home.
- 7:09Speaker 3: So my big thing is.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Just like it's crazy the way that their food over
- 7:15Speaker 2: there digests so much better. Did you find yourself to
- 7:18Speaker 2: be like able to go walk around and be comfortable
- 7:21Speaker 2: after a huge meal and then the next day your
- 7:23Speaker 2: stomach be like flatter than ever.
- 7:26Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 7:26Speaker 4: No, I one hundred percent felt this. I also felt
- 7:28Speaker 4: this with the wine. You know, you got a bottle
- 7:31Speaker 4: of wine at dinner every night, and I would have,
- 7:33Speaker 4: you know, two glasses of wine. And if I have
- 7:37Speaker 4: two glasses of wine, like I am a cocktail a
- 7:39Speaker 4: night kind of guy, or at least a cocktail every
- 7:41Speaker 4: couple of nights, just one kind of like it's my thing.
- 7:44Speaker 5: I watch the sunset. But that's about where I can stop.
- 7:48Speaker 5: I don't. I don't overdrink in my life.
- 7:51Speaker 4: Jessica knows this because it I hate the feeling and
- 7:53Speaker 4: I don't like losing control. It's not that's not why
- 7:56Speaker 4: I do it. I've had moments. Obviously you've seen it,
- 7:58Speaker 4: but not it's very rare. I after two glass of wine,
- 8:03Speaker 4: like I felt great, Like I felt like fine, there's
- 8:06Speaker 4: just a yeah, the food and the drink over there
- 8:08Speaker 4: just felt like it digested easier. I think if anybody's
- 8:10Speaker 4: traveling to Italy, you're gonna find that too. You can
- 8:14Speaker 4: eat a bowl of pasta or a whole pizza to
- 8:16Speaker 4: yourself and get up and be like I feel pretty good,
- 8:18Speaker 4: like I'm rocking and rolling.
- 8:20Speaker 2: Yeah, you can just tell that there's like nothing toxic
- 8:23Speaker 2: in the food, and your body knows exactly how to
- 8:27Speaker 2: process it, whereas like at home, you know, we don't
- 8:30Speaker 2: know really what's in it. But like I do think
- 8:32Speaker 2: that there's some sort of guideline or whatnot that like
- 8:36Speaker 2: each restaurant needs to source their all their ingredients from
- 8:41Speaker 2: a certain radius around them to ensure that it's as
- 8:45Speaker 2: fresh as it can be.
- 8:46Speaker 3: In Italy, you think, mm hmmm, yeah, I think I've
- 8:48Speaker 3: heard of this.
- 8:49Speaker 4: I mean, you know, remember a few years ago where
- 8:51Speaker 4: the shop local trend became very popular and it was
- 8:54Speaker 4: kind of a big push, uh, not only from like
- 8:58Speaker 4: kind of our generation.
- 8:59Speaker 5: It was maybe eight years ago.
- 9:01Speaker 4: I still think it's a very popular thing to do,
- 9:03Speaker 4: but the shop local became very popular. I think that's
- 9:06Speaker 4: I think it's a really amazing solution if it's sustainable
- 9:11Speaker 4: because you're getting fresh ingredients, because you're supporting your local farmers.
- 9:15Speaker 4: And I do think you see that, right, you have
- 9:17Speaker 4: produce sitting out like in the kitchen that you can
- 9:21Speaker 4: just tell has been picked that day. We did that
- 9:23Speaker 4: limon to or like I said, and understood kind of
- 9:26Speaker 4: how the limon industry works, but also the struggles that
- 9:30Speaker 4: Italy is going to have with the lemon industry here
- 9:31Speaker 4: in the next few years because young people aren't entering
- 9:34Speaker 4: into farming and so you know, these small farms are
- 9:38Speaker 4: no longer maybe sustainable for the lifestyle that the younger
- 9:42Speaker 4: generation in Italy wants to live.
- 9:45Speaker 5: So to go back to Italy.
- 9:47Speaker 4: I don't know if listeners are going to be intrigued
- 9:51Speaker 4: with all the details, but here's the things I said
- 9:54Speaker 4: from our trip that I would recommend what we did.
- 9:56Speaker 5: I think Pompeii is very much worth it.
- 9:58Speaker 4: If anybody tells, yeah, it is, you get a ton
- 10:02Speaker 4: of history. And you know, obviously last year we went
- 10:04Speaker 4: to Israel. The ruins at Pompeii are in the best
- 10:08Speaker 4: shape of any ruins that we've seen through Israel in Italy.
- 10:12Speaker 4: I also think the Amalfi Coast is one hundred percent
- 10:16Speaker 4: worth Going to the Amalfi Coast is definitely the most
- 10:19Speaker 4: beautiful place I've ever been. It is shockingly pretty. And
- 10:24Speaker 4: here is the question that everybody wants to ask, how
- 10:26Speaker 4: did the trip go? Like, how do to How did
- 10:28Speaker 4: the six of us get along? We got along really good.
- 10:32Speaker 4: I cannot imagine it going better. There is no arguments.
- 10:36Speaker 4: Everybody had enough freedom to do their own thing. But
- 10:38Speaker 4: we had a ton of time together. We agreed on stuff,
- 10:42Speaker 4: We had a lot of fun together. It was an
- 10:44Speaker 4: amazing trip, one that I know when i'm you know,
- 10:48Speaker 4: it's crazy when you're in these experiences and you're like,
- 10:51Speaker 4: when I'm sixty five years old, I'm gonna look back
- 10:54Speaker 4: and remember this trip, like I'm gonna still talk about
- 10:57Speaker 4: our trip to Italy with both in laws. It's gonna
- 10:59Speaker 4: be something that is a pivotal piece of my life,
- 11:03Speaker 4: and so it was.
- 11:05Speaker 5: It was great.
- 11:05Speaker 4: I feel very I don't want to say blessed, because
- 11:08Speaker 4: blessed over. I just feel very fortunate, grateful that we
- 11:11Speaker 4: were able to do that with both sets of parents
- 11:14Speaker 4: and have those memories together. I will say the gelagg
- 11:16Speaker 4: was real. My dad suffered really bad with it, like
- 11:21Speaker 4: really bad getting there. Getting there it was really hard,
- 11:24Speaker 4: and then getting back has kind of been a transition.
- 11:27Speaker 4: But you know, eight hours is enough to really shake
- 11:30Speaker 4: you up a little bit.
- 11:32Speaker 3: Last question for you, Yeah, what's your take on lemon Cello?
- 11:36Speaker 5: Love lemon Cello. I cannot say that.
- 11:39Speaker 4: I am not a oh my gosh, I'm craving lemon
- 11:42Speaker 4: Cello type of person. We did, though, find that the
- 11:47Speaker 4: place that we went had Melonchello, had like cream Cello,
- 11:53Speaker 4: had chocolate cello, coo. Well, there's a lot of different
- 11:56Speaker 4: cello's in there. Lemon Cello, though done well, which they
- 12:00Speaker 4: did do it well, is fantastic, but it's not something
- 12:05Speaker 4: I crave, maybe as much as others crave Wominchello.
- 12:09Speaker 2: Yeah, they would always give us a shot of Lemonchello
- 12:11Speaker 2: because we were on our honeymoon. Yeah, and well Jared
- 12:14Speaker 2: would not like could not, And then I was like
- 12:17Speaker 2: not super keen, too sweet, too tart. Sorry, but I
- 12:27Speaker 2: also cannot deny a free drink, so I took them all.
- 12:30Speaker 4: Yeah, I can't deny it either. Maybe you should have
- 12:32Speaker 4: said we were on our honeymoon, you Okay, craziest story
- 12:34Speaker 4: from the trip outside of all the other things. I
- 12:36Speaker 4: come from a town of forty five hundred people were Sundyana.
- 12:39Speaker 4: You saw it aired on The Bachelor. We are in
- 12:43Speaker 4: may Ori or Minori, Italy, going to dinner one night.
- 12:49Speaker 4: It is right next to our hotel, walking down the
- 12:51Speaker 4: street and there's my old neighbors from More Sun Diana
- 12:54Speaker 4: walking down the street as well.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Wild as wild as that. Okay, that's the most because
- 13:00Speaker 2: it's warsaw. But I always feel like when you're traveling abroad,
- 13:04Speaker 2: you somehow find one person that you've met before in life,
- 13:08Speaker 2: and it's weird.
- 13:09Speaker 5: It's very weird.
- 13:10Speaker 4: It makes you you know, back when you were a
- 13:12Speaker 4: kid and your parents used to say, like, you gotta
- 13:15Speaker 4: behave because you never know how it's going to come
- 13:17Speaker 4: back around. And I always like, yeah, right, Well, it does.
- 13:21Speaker 4: It comes back around. You got to keep your stuff
- 13:24Speaker 4: together as you get older, because your circle gets bigger. Ashley,
- 13:28Speaker 4: I want to transition this conversation again. I will upload
- 13:31Speaker 4: our itinerary from Italy. I think that could be interesting
- 13:34Speaker 4: to anybody going over there and may be helpful. I'll
- 13:36Speaker 4: give some tips and stuff like that here. In a week,
- 13:40Speaker 4: you and I are going to be together. We're gonna
- 13:43Speaker 4: be together at Dean and Kaylan's wedding. Okay, obviously, we
- 13:46Speaker 4: just had Dean and Kaylan on our podcast and they
- 13:48Speaker 4: gave some details around their wedding and some of the
- 13:50Speaker 4: fun things they've been doing to lead up to their wedding.
- 13:53Speaker 4: Dean and I play golf this week weekend together.
- 13:56Speaker 5: They're out here.
- 13:56Speaker 4: We had dinner with them, and they're very excited for
- 13:59Speaker 4: this wedding. I am personally very excited for this wedding.
- 14:01Speaker 4: People are coming to Colorado who have never been to
- 14:04Speaker 4: Colorado or maybe never experienced real Colorado. And this is
- 14:07Speaker 4: obviously a place I live and I love, and I
- 14:11Speaker 4: I want people to see an experience. So Dean and
- 14:14Speaker 4: I are talking on the golf course and Dean is
- 14:16Speaker 4: very excited for this as I said, but he did
- 14:19Speaker 4: mention to me. He goes, you know, the thing that's
- 14:21Speaker 4: gonna be semi shocking for people is one, this wedding
- 14:25Speaker 4: is not an Aspen. I think all of us have
- 14:26Speaker 4: been saying it's an Aspen. It's not an Aspen. It's
- 14:28Speaker 4: very far from Aspen.
- 14:29Speaker 3: It's over gat.
- 14:31Speaker 4: Yeah, you're not gonna You're not gonna just jump down
- 14:33Speaker 4: the mountain and go to Aspen. The second piece is
- 14:36Speaker 4: it's a very rustic, very rustic venue where we're staying
- 14:41Speaker 4: at the venue. There's not like hotels around, right, So
- 14:44Speaker 4: these are cabins, not super well insulated.
- 14:49Speaker 3: They will well, that's good to know.
- 14:52Speaker 4: Yeah, so Jessica and I will be bringing blankets for
- 14:55Speaker 4: everybody from our house, will drive us.
- 14:58Speaker 3: What do I dress like is go pretty darn cold.
- 15:01Speaker 5: It could be a little chili. Yeah, it could be
- 15:03Speaker 5: a little chilly.
- 15:03Speaker 4: I would definitely prepare for it to be in the fifties,
- 15:06Speaker 4: maybe high forties.
- 15:08Speaker 5: Uh. And then there is And this.
- 15:12Speaker 4: Is where I want to talk to you about it
- 15:13Speaker 4: because I personally find this to be amazing.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Okay, I think I know what you're gonna say, and
- 15:18Speaker 2: it's gonna freak me out. Are you gonna say there's
- 15:21Speaker 2: no cell service and Wi Fi?
- 15:22Speaker 5: There's no cell service, but I do believe there's Wi Fi?
- 15:25Speaker 2: Okay, because as a parent, that's not fun, you know
- 15:28Speaker 2: what I mean. It's a whole different thing. Like I
- 15:30Speaker 2: used to love actually going on The Bachelor and them
- 15:32Speaker 2: taking my phone away. I mean like that, yes, human connection,
- 15:36Speaker 2: but now it's like totally not okay to.
- 15:39Speaker 5: I get it. Yeah, Okay.
- 15:42Speaker 4: So here's what I was laughing with Dean about, You're
- 15:45Speaker 4: gonna have a bunch of people who spend their most
- 15:47Speaker 4: of their time and living, influencing, posting and sharing different things.
- 15:52Speaker 4: There's not really gonna be that availability. Do you think
- 15:55Speaker 4: people are gonna have freakouts? Or do you think most
- 15:57Speaker 4: people are going to really enjoy the disconnection from the
- 16:01Speaker 4: hustle and bustle of the world.
- 16:02Speaker 3: I think it comes down to whether you have kids
- 16:04Speaker 3: or not.
- 16:05Speaker 5: Okay, So those that have kids might be a little nervous.
- 16:08Speaker 3: Yeah, Like, and I'm gonna be honest, Jared doesn't do well.
- 16:13Speaker 5: I don't I wouldn't do well either.
- 16:15Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't know, because like he's also has this
- 16:18Speaker 2: other child, which is Audrey's. So it's like she he's
- 16:21Speaker 2: like already stressed that he has to run it from
- 16:23Speaker 2: like being you know, not there present, and then yeah.
- 16:28Speaker 5: Well I do think there's Wi Fi.
- 16:29Speaker 4: So I think like, overall, you're gonna be able to
- 16:31Speaker 4: make it work when you need to make it work.
- 16:33Speaker 4: But I don't think you're gonna be walking from cabin
- 16:35Speaker 4: to cabin and getting like the ability to text, and
- 16:39Speaker 4: so I do think that will be eliminated. But I
- 16:42Speaker 4: do think he'll be able to FaceTime and call and
- 16:45Speaker 4: do all the things that you can do on Wi Fi.
- 16:47Speaker 4: I don't this isn't like in the middle of absolutely nowhere.
- 16:50Speaker 4: There is a town.
- 16:50Speaker 3: There, there is a town. Okay.
- 16:53Speaker 2: So Jared also has anxiety, and I understand because I
- 16:55Speaker 2: have like extreme rule anxiety. I'll just always remember when
- 17:01Speaker 2: I went to James Madison University, which is Harrisonburg, Virginia,
- 17:06Speaker 2: which is a very well developed city now with the college.
- 17:09Speaker 2: But if you go like ten miles out, it's just
- 17:11Speaker 2: pure darkness, Like you could be on a country road
- 17:14Speaker 2: and not see any lights left to right for miles
- 17:17Speaker 2: and that freaks me out. Yeah, and Jared also has
- 17:23Speaker 2: like this anxiety because he just feels like he wants
- 17:26Speaker 2: to be independent, like he wants to be able to
- 17:29Speaker 2: go grab a coffee whenever he wants to, and if
- 17:32Speaker 2: he doesn't have that freedom, that stresses him out. Yeah well,
- 17:36Speaker 2: I see, You'll see he'll mask it well with him,
- 17:39Speaker 2: but I'm sure he'll.
- 17:39Speaker 3: Be freaking out.
- 17:41Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 17:41Speaker 4: Well, I personally really love this because I love getting
- 17:44Speaker 4: out of my comfort zone.
- 17:45Speaker 5: And there's a comfort.
- 17:47Speaker 3: Anti that's the anti Jared. Yeah, he loves his comfort zone.
- 17:52Speaker 4: So we will be attending this wedding in a few days.
- 17:55Speaker 4: It's going to be a great celebration. There's going to
- 17:57Speaker 4: be more Bachelor Family than I expected to be there.
- 18:02Speaker 2: So excited for Becca and Tanya to be there. I
- 18:05Speaker 2: consider Tanya to be an honorary Bachelor Nation.
- 18:08Speaker 5: I forget that she wasn't a part of the y.
- 18:10Speaker 2: I know we've always wanted her to be on, but
- 18:12Speaker 2: now we are so excited that our iHeart family member
- 18:16Speaker 2: Tanya rad is engaged to the love of her life, Robbie.
- 18:20Speaker 5: So good, so good.
- 18:22Speaker 4: So anyways, it's gonna be a wild experience. I can't
- 18:25Speaker 4: wait to share the stories with you. I am so
- 18:27Speaker 4: excited to see you all. I'm very excited to see
- 18:30Speaker 4: everybody including myself, get out of their comfort zones and
- 18:34Speaker 4: into the mountains for a few days to celebrate the
- 18:36Speaker 4: love that Dean and Calen have for each other. It's
- 18:40Speaker 4: gonna be great, and there's no way you get this
- 18:42Speaker 4: many people in one place without some great stories that.
- 18:46Speaker 5: Come out of it.
- 18:47Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:47Speaker 2: I'm seriously, like so excited to have like a little
- 18:50Speaker 2: Bachelor Nation reunion. But also, you're right, it'll be nice
- 18:55Speaker 2: to like not have everybody on their phones and we
- 18:57Speaker 2: can actually feel like it's about the reunion, you know
- 19:01Speaker 2: what I mean.
- 19:02Speaker 5: It actually talks to people, so yeaheah.
- 19:05Speaker 4: We get to talk to people and I don't feel
- 19:06Speaker 4: like I'm interrupting them every time I look at them
- 19:08Speaker 4: because they're texting and looking down at their phones.
- 19:11Speaker 5: It's going to be great. Anyways. You hate that we
- 19:14Speaker 5: have some Bachelor headlines.
- 19:15Speaker 4: We do have a busy week of some great interviews
- 19:18Speaker 4: coming up your way. We are getting closer and closer
- 19:20Speaker 4: to the end of our off season. This was our
- 19:24Speaker 4: off season. It's why I was able to go.
- 19:25Speaker 3: To Italy short af It.
- 19:28Speaker 4: Is right, and there's a lot of press coming out
- 19:31Speaker 4: about the Golden Bachelor. I saw yesterday that I don't
- 19:35Speaker 4: think it was official necessarily, but reality Steve did release
- 19:39Speaker 4: who he believes is the contestants on this season.
- 19:42Speaker 5: I have no clue how he.
- 19:43Speaker 4: Found from the contestants on Joey season Joey's season that
- 19:46Speaker 4: will be coming up.
- 19:47Speaker 3: But The Bachelor also did.
- 19:48Speaker 2: They announced it only on their Facebook page and it
- 19:52Speaker 2: isn't unofficial list. There is a friend of mine on
- 19:57Speaker 2: the Facebook list, but like, we can't really go above
- 20:00Speaker 2: and beyond and get excited because it's all kind of
- 20:02Speaker 2: like a teaser. So what happened was with Clayton season,
- 20:07Speaker 2: they did the same sort of release, but there were
- 20:09Speaker 2: like three girls from the Facebook list that didn't make
- 20:13Speaker 2: the cut, so it's very much an unofficial cast list.
- 20:17Speaker 4: Well, it's getting closer. Let's dive into headlines because there
- 20:31Speaker 4: are a few. Here's the first. Hannah Godwin reveals her
- 20:34Speaker 4: favorite honeymoon memory and why her wedding was in Paris.
- 20:39Speaker 4: We had this question, now it's being answered.
- 20:41Speaker 3: Mm hmm, okay.
- 20:42Speaker 2: So the best part of their honeymoon, she said, was
- 20:44Speaker 2: having deep belly laughs about so many things, and about
- 20:50Speaker 2: and them being in their own little world.
- 20:52Speaker 3: She said. Obviously the food location.
- 20:55Speaker 2: Just relaxing was really nice, but our favorite memories are
- 20:58Speaker 2: definitely the laughs that they had. And she even has
- 21:02Speaker 2: a little notes, you know, in her notes app she
- 21:05Speaker 2: put some of the things that they cracked up over,
- 21:07Speaker 2: which I love that idea. It's because you know, how
- 21:10Speaker 2: many times do you say, like, what was that thing
- 21:12Speaker 2: that we just cracked up over? And you remember the laugh,
- 21:14Speaker 2: but you don't remember what the heck you were laughing over.
- 21:17Speaker 2: So she documented it so they can go back and
- 21:19Speaker 2: look at it. She also said that they decided on
- 21:23Speaker 2: Paris because when they were like first out and able
- 21:28Speaker 2: to do anything as a couple after Bachelor and Paradise,
- 21:32Speaker 2: they went to France.
- 21:33Speaker 3: It was really meaningful to them. They loved it so much.
- 21:36Speaker 2: But they didn't decide on having it there until actually
- 21:41Speaker 2: New Year's Eve this past year. So if you guys
- 21:44Speaker 2: have ever planned a wedding out there, you know that
- 21:46Speaker 2: deciding on a location seven months out is actually quite
- 21:51Speaker 2: difficult because the venues have all been sucked up. She goes,
- 21:54Speaker 2: that's she goes, that is why we had a Wednesday wedding.
- 22:00Speaker 2: So she goes, we highly recommend it.
- 22:02Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, if you're traveling to Paris, it doesn't
- 22:04Speaker 4: really matter what day you're exactly.
- 22:05Speaker 3: You're already making a week out of it.
- 22:07Speaker 5: Yeah, you're making a week.
- 22:09Speaker 4: Next headline is this Katie Thurston, who we obviously announced
- 22:13Speaker 4: is going to be on f Boy Island, a creation
- 22:16Speaker 4: of somebody who used to be an executive producer on
- 22:20Speaker 4: The Bachelor along Gail. But Katie Thurston embraces the humor
- 22:24Speaker 4: on f Boy Island season three.
- 22:26Speaker 3: Mm hm.
- 22:27Speaker 2: So she says that her experience on f Boy Island,
- 22:29Speaker 2: which does not premiere until Sober sixteenth at eight o'clock
- 22:36Speaker 2: on the CW, she says it's like the total opposite
- 22:40Speaker 2: of what she had gone through before. So she had
- 22:42Speaker 2: never watched the show before being asked to do it,
- 22:45Speaker 2: so she binge watched it, and she said she was
- 22:47Speaker 2: truly laughing out loud watching Binge watching season two.
- 22:51Speaker 3: She said she was.
- 22:52Speaker 2: Pleasantly surprised by how feminist it was. She said she
- 22:55Speaker 2: liked how it was satirical and comedy focused, and so
- 22:58Speaker 2: once she saw it, she was like, what, well, yeah,
- 23:00Speaker 2: why not? This sounds like it's going to be a
- 23:02Speaker 2: really fun time for me. So, if you guys haven't
- 23:05Speaker 2: watched Foy Island, Kitty does explain it quite well.
- 23:07Speaker 3: She goes, an f boy.
- 23:09Speaker 2: Is someone who makes decisions in her opinion selfishly. You know,
- 23:13Speaker 2: where they're not taking into consideration the person that it
- 23:16Speaker 2: could impact. They're doing it for their own gain, pleasure, reward,
- 23:19Speaker 2: whatever that is. Whereas these nice guys are going to
- 23:22Speaker 2: look at the bigger picture and assess their actions because
- 23:27Speaker 2: of that take you into consideration in terms of how
- 23:30Speaker 2: it's going to make you feel. They should be honest
- 23:33Speaker 2: and how they're always thinking about how decision impacts everybody else.
- 23:38Speaker 2: She just said that like being on the show was
- 23:40Speaker 2: the antithesis of the Bachelor in tone, because everything is
- 23:44Speaker 2: kind of like you can have humor with it. It's lighthearted,
- 23:48Speaker 2: nobody's necessarily looking for their soulmate. On f Boy Island,
- 23:52Speaker 2: she said that she was able to have conversations like
- 23:54Speaker 2: full uninterrupted conversations where nobody was like, okay, okay, guys,
- 23:59Speaker 2: let's get more serious, let's talk about marriage, and like
- 24:01Speaker 2: if you guys both want to be parents one day,
- 24:03Speaker 2: she said she was able to just like have straight,
- 24:06Speaker 2: uninterrupted conversations and it was just a more comedy based
- 24:10Speaker 2: She also liked the fact that there was like a
- 24:12Speaker 2: sisterhood element because she was alongside to other women the
- 24:17Speaker 2: entire time, and she was like, worst case scenario, if
- 24:20Speaker 2: I don't live with money, I have some new sisters.
- 24:24Speaker 4: And Nicki Glazer is obviously the host of this and
- 24:26Speaker 4: probably brings a massive amount of humor to the show,
- 24:29Speaker 4: and it's going to be you know, it's an intriguing watch,
- 24:33Speaker 4: I think, and it's an interesting concept. It's great to
- 24:36Speaker 4: hear Katie be so positive about a reality television experience.
- 24:40Speaker 4: That's not something we're used to, right, I mean, yeah,
- 24:42Speaker 4: she obviously had a really great experience, and she trusted
- 24:46Speaker 4: the team because I don't think she had any interest
- 24:49Speaker 4: in during reality television necessarily again, after her time, I
- 24:52Speaker 4: don't think she loved her time as the Bachelor, at
- 24:54Speaker 4: least from what she has said. So she obviously trusted
- 24:58Speaker 4: the team and went on and then came ou off
- 25:00Speaker 4: of it. And it's like, hey, this is really great.
- 25:01Speaker 3: Yeah, so good for love.
- 25:03Speaker 4: Yeah, this is a big one one that we've kind
- 25:06Speaker 4: of been speculating for a bit, just didn't have the answers,
- 25:11Speaker 4: but today we do. Michael a has officially confirmed his
- 25:15Speaker 4: breakup with Daniel Mulby. This one hurts deeply, actually, very deeply.
- 25:20Speaker 2: It's very sad, yes, very assumed. We pull it up
- 25:24Speaker 2: and read it directly, which it was about time to
- 25:28Speaker 2: be honest, because like, what are you to do just
- 25:30Speaker 2: like fade your relationship into obscurity with the fans that
- 25:32Speaker 2: have followed it from the very beginning? Like you know,
- 25:35Speaker 2: you know, you start a relationship on TV, you kind
- 25:37Speaker 2: of have to if you're if it's going to end,
- 25:39Speaker 2: you kind of have to discuss it.
- 25:42Speaker 3: Do you agree with me on that?
- 25:44Speaker 5: I do?
- 25:44Speaker 4: I mean I think I think at some point you
- 25:47Speaker 4: just have to confirm that it's no longer a relationship
- 25:52Speaker 4: because if not, then, I mean I think everybody is
- 25:54Speaker 4: probably in your comments and in your messages making exceptions
- 25:59Speaker 4: and then what happens when you get seen on a
- 26:00Speaker 4: date with somebody else?
- 26:02Speaker 3: Yeah, it lingers longer than it needs to. Yeah, okay, Yeah,
- 26:06Speaker 3: So he actually said it on Jason Tartic's podcast. The
- 26:09Speaker 3: episode was released today September eighteenth. He says, it's not
- 26:13Speaker 3: what we plan.
- 26:14Speaker 2: We both threw a lot into this relationship, and it's
- 26:17Speaker 2: awful when it doesn't work out. You mourn the loss
- 26:19Speaker 2: of not just that person and friend in your life,
- 26:23Speaker 2: but also the future that you had envision. That's so true.
- 26:26Speaker 2: A lot of it is like the death of the
- 26:28Speaker 2: dreams of the relationship that hurt the most, in my opinion,
- 26:33Speaker 2: he said, And it's to no fault of hers. She
- 26:36Speaker 2: poured everything into this. We're still, you know, working through
- 26:39Speaker 2: some things and trying to stay close, but the last
- 26:42Speaker 2: few months have been really rough. He's ended the conversation
- 26:46Speaker 2: by saying that starting over again is always frightening. I
- 26:50Speaker 2: know that time will heal, because I've felt that before,
- 26:53Speaker 2: but it doesn't make this anything any less difficult. And
- 26:58Speaker 2: he just said, yeah, yeah, that's basically all he said
- 27:01Speaker 2: on Jason's podcast.
- 27:03Speaker 3: But we'll have to listen to that too.
- 27:15Speaker 4: This is an interesting headline for me. I obviously know
- 27:18Speaker 4: people still working on Paradise, working within Paradise. I don't
- 27:23Speaker 4: know what he's talking.
- 27:24Speaker 3: About me neither. Okay, I.
- 27:28Speaker 4: Feel like I'm pretty I don't know any of the
- 27:31Speaker 4: spoilers for Paradise.
- 27:32Speaker 5: I just refuse.
- 27:33Speaker 4: But I do always like to hear about the kind
- 27:36Speaker 4: of the some of the characters. I like to hear
- 27:40Speaker 4: about some of the like the vibe of Paradise and
- 27:44Speaker 4: kind of how it plays out. That's kind of where
- 27:46Speaker 4: I liked it, because Paradise intrigues me. I've never been,
- 27:49Speaker 4: so it's kind of like this mystery place. But this
- 27:51Speaker 4: is the headline. Jesse Palmer promises unique twist for Bachelor
- 27:55Speaker 4: in Paradise season nine. This according to Yahoo. I don't
- 27:58Speaker 4: know what this twist is. I have no idea what
- 27:59Speaker 4: he said.
- 28:00Speaker 3: I know, Okay, So here's the quote.
- 28:02Speaker 2: There's going to be something really special and unique about
- 28:04Speaker 2: this season, something to celebrate. I think all Bachelor Nation
- 28:08Speaker 2: is going to be really really excited about it. Everyone
- 28:11Speaker 2: on the beach will be too. I really cannot wait
- 28:14Speaker 2: to see what happens and where this goes. Now, before
- 28:17Speaker 2: I continue, I just want to say that, like, this
- 28:19Speaker 2: sounds different than last year's twist, which was separating the
- 28:22Speaker 2: cast and adding more in while the girls.
- 28:24Speaker 3: Were Nobody liked that.
- 28:28Speaker 2: So Jesse says that everybody's going to be excited about it. However,
- 28:34Speaker 2: Wells does not share this sentiment. He says, I imagine.
- 28:38Speaker 2: Wells says, I imagine that there will be things that
- 28:41Speaker 2: people are not expecting to happen, and they're probably going
- 28:44Speaker 2: to be.
- 28:44Speaker 3: Very angry about it.
- 28:46Speaker 2: He says, I'll be fine because I'll be making drinks
- 28:49Speaker 2: and just watching the dumpster fire happen in front of me.
- 28:51Speaker 2: So I was so interested about this headline that I
- 28:55Speaker 2: texted Joe because I knew that her best friend Rachel
- 28:59Speaker 2: Rekia was on this season, and I.
- 29:01Speaker 3: Go, what is this about? And now, of.
- 29:03Speaker 2: Course, like she knows for sure, and we don't like
- 29:05Speaker 2: to spoil things on the show. But later in this
- 29:08Speaker 2: article it does touch on something that Jill did touch
- 29:10Speaker 2: on in the text that she responded to me. She
- 29:13Speaker 2: brings up the truth box. So we see the truth
- 29:17Speaker 2: box in the teaser, and I think, like, I don't
- 29:21Speaker 2: know whether the truth box is like you put secrets
- 29:23Speaker 2: in there about people and then at some point they're
- 29:26Speaker 2: read out loud, or whether it's kind of like one
- 29:29Speaker 2: of those things where you take a question out of
- 29:32Speaker 2: the truth box and like you're sitting around some campfire
- 29:35Speaker 2: and it's like an activity where you know, you pull
- 29:39Speaker 2: it out and you need to like answer. Honestly, it's
- 29:42Speaker 2: like who is the troublemaker in the clan or who
- 29:45Speaker 2: is the one to most likely steal your boy?
- 29:48Speaker 4: If this is the twist that's getting publicity, then they're
- 29:53Speaker 4: really hurting because that is not a huge twist.
- 29:57Speaker 3: It's a twist.
- 29:58Speaker 2: I would love the well if it was my first
- 30:02Speaker 2: explanation or guests where like you just put in your
- 30:05Speaker 2: little thoughts and then at some point somebody.
- 30:09Speaker 3: Has to read all these secrets out loud.
- 30:12Speaker 4: Yeah, here's my problem with that. Ashley obviously have a
- 30:16Speaker 4: problem with stuff.
- 30:19Speaker 3: And that's good for me as a viewer, not for
- 30:21Speaker 3: me as part of the cast.
- 30:22Speaker 5: Well, it feels like social media to me.
- 30:24Speaker 4: You can hide behind something like if you're able to
- 30:26Speaker 4: put in a box something about somebody else that maybe
- 30:29Speaker 4: isn't positive, then it's almost like social media because you're
- 30:32Speaker 4: hiding behind a screen, You're hiding behind this. Nope, I
- 30:35Speaker 4: don't know. Obviously we're speculating everything. But if there is
- 30:39Speaker 4: the ability to call somebody out but not have to
- 30:42Speaker 4: do it to their face, then I don't think it's healthy.
- 30:45Speaker 4: Like I think one of the things about Paradise that
- 30:47Speaker 4: is mos then with health you know, yeah, well, I
- 30:50Speaker 4: think one of the things that that makes Paradise great
- 30:52Speaker 4: is you have to confront these things, right, think about
- 30:55Speaker 4: the Blake Hortsman stories, the Dean stories, the love trying
- 31:00Speaker 4: to breakups, the thing that we love about Paradise is
- 31:03Speaker 4: that you can't run away from this stuff, Like you
- 31:05Speaker 4: can't hide it and just get eliminated. You have to
- 31:07Speaker 4: confront it at some point because you're counting on this
- 31:10Speaker 4: partner or you're counting on this dynamic to get you
- 31:13Speaker 4: to the next week. So maybe possibly you can find
- 31:15Speaker 4: your forever person. I like that about Paradise. I like
- 31:19Speaker 4: that you're on a beach, isolated in one area of
- 31:21Speaker 4: men and women living together trying to figure it out.
- 31:24Speaker 5: I don't want that to go away. I don't want
- 31:26Speaker 5: it to be buffered.
- 31:27Speaker 3: Okay, totally see where you're coming from. I just say,
- 31:32Speaker 3: don't you think that if this truth box and these
- 31:35Speaker 3: secrets come out that like immediately people are gonna.
- 31:37Speaker 2: Be like, it's that person who said it, and then
- 31:39Speaker 2: you're gonna have to confront it anyway.
- 31:41Speaker 3: Yeah, maybe arguments.
- 31:45Speaker 4: Yeah, it's definitely helping helping people get better at being me.
- 31:50Speaker 5: That's exactly what it's doing.
- 31:52Speaker 2: You're so right, I don't even know that that's what
- 31:54Speaker 2: it is. I actually don't even think that's what it is.
- 31:57Speaker 2: I think it like brings up questions and then you
- 32:01Speaker 2: guys have to like discuss it.
- 32:03Speaker 5: Yeah, it's great.
- 32:05Speaker 4: It's like going back to high school around, like when
- 32:07Speaker 4: you sit around, you're like, you know, what is the
- 32:09Speaker 4: game when you put down one finger?
- 32:10Speaker 5: You raise a finger?
- 32:11Speaker 3: Yeah, oh you mean never have I ever?
- 32:14Speaker 4: Yeah, it's kind of like that, like never have I ever? Like,
- 32:16Speaker 4: but it's a different kind of game where it's bringing
- 32:18Speaker 4: truth out, it's forcing conversation, it's helping people share things
- 32:22Speaker 4: or talk about things that maybe they wouldn't And so
- 32:24Speaker 4: if that's the case, I could get behind it. I
- 32:26Speaker 4: could get behind that. I just don't know if that
- 32:28Speaker 4: is a big enough twist to be promoting publicly.
- 32:32Speaker 2: Certain certainly not. But they do this to this every year.
- 32:35Speaker 2: I know when I first saw the headline.
- 32:37Speaker 3: I was like, Oh, what are they gonna do. Are
- 32:40Speaker 3: they going to tell everyone that.
- 32:41Speaker 2: Like there's no need for engagements or something, No where
- 32:46Speaker 2: there's gonna be no engagements or like, I don't know, I.
