- 3:14Speaker 4: is good to of it because it is an inpirational conversation.
- 3:27Speaker 4: Definitely don't want to miss it. But you know, before
- 3:29Speaker 4: we do anything, we gotta go to God in prayer.
- 3:32Speaker 4: So join me in prayer, Dear having we Father, Thank
- 3:35Speaker 4: you for coming to us tonight as you do each
- 3:37Speaker 4: and every time we're in front of you. Let the
- 3:39Speaker 4: words of our mouths fall upon the ears that need
- 3:41Speaker 4: to hear. Let them take what they need from this
- 3:45Speaker 4: message that they're going to receive tonight. Let them be
- 3:48Speaker 4: able to move from the place of being stuck and
- 3:51Speaker 4: stagnant to being open and profound. Everything that we do
- 3:57Speaker 4: is because of you. We are nothing without you. Continue
- 4:00Speaker 4: to bless us in the ways that you see fit.
- 4:02Speaker 4: In your precious and holy name, Jesus, I pray now.
- 4:06Speaker 4: My two wonderful guests that I have are mister Edward
- 4:10Speaker 4: Surat and missus Tanisha Linda Bridge. These are two very
- 4:15Speaker 4: amazing people. Doctor Well, I don't know why I want
- 4:19Speaker 4: to call you doctor Surat, but it seems fitting. So
- 4:22Speaker 4: I'm gonna stick with that. If that's what God leads
- 4:27Speaker 4: me to say, that's what I'm gonna say. He's a
- 4:30Speaker 4: transformational speaker, coach all dang elder.
- 4:35Speaker 3: To do it for you, because don't know what to
- 4:36Speaker 3: tell you.
- 4:37Speaker 4: Uh oh, okay, she's still trying.
- 4:40Speaker 2: To get in.
- 4:42Speaker 3: I apologize. We've been working on this and she still
- 4:45Speaker 3: can't get in. And oh, I'm sorry, I'm sorry.
- 4:50Speaker 4: Can you Yeah, I can hear you.
- 4:53Speaker 3: She's still trying to get in, and she's downloaded she's
- 4:56Speaker 3: supposed to download, and I don't know what's going on.
- 5:01Speaker 4: Let's see if we can resend her the link. I
- 5:04Speaker 4: almost send it to you again, and see if that helps.
- 5:07Speaker 4: I don't know. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Let's
- 5:12Speaker 4: see and talk that way.
- 5:14Speaker 3: I mean, I don't know.
- 5:16Speaker 4: I don't well, I mean, I don't know. I mean,
- 5:19Speaker 4: we can have her own speaker if if you would like.
- 5:23Speaker 4: I guess that'll work. I don't know if it'll be
- 5:25Speaker 4: a bunch of feedback though, I don't know. Yeah, that's
- 5:30Speaker 4: a new one on this platform. For me, I have
- 5:33Speaker 4: no idea, but if we can't get her tonight, it's
- 5:38Speaker 4: no worries. There's definitely gonna be more opportunities for her
- 5:41Speaker 4: to come on. So there's absolutely no stress and no worries.
- 5:46Speaker 3: Yeah, I'll wow.
- 5:50Speaker 4: Yeah, it's it's always something different when you're dealing with technology,
- 5:55Speaker 4: so you never know what you're gonna encounter. But I'm
- 5:58Speaker 4: grateful that you're here. I'm grateful that she's trying. So
- 6:03Speaker 4: just introduce yourself a little bit. I know I gave
- 6:05Speaker 4: a little bit of a introduction, but letting people know
- 6:09Speaker 4: who you are.
- 6:10Speaker 3: Okay, Well, my name is Edward Sarat and you said
- 6:15Speaker 3: you said doctor, but you know I'm ed with Sarat
- 6:18Speaker 3: and you know, wow, induced myself. Uh, you know, I'm
- 6:23Speaker 3: a minister is one thing. But I do a lot
- 6:25Speaker 3: of motivational speaking, and one thing that I'm really proud
- 6:27Speaker 3: of is being an empowerment coach, helping people achieve their dreams,
- 6:31Speaker 3: helping people make their make their dreams come true. And
- 6:33Speaker 3: that's what I'm really proud of that I really help
- 6:36Speaker 3: work with a lot of young people, work with a
- 6:38Speaker 3: lot of their young adults, work with a lot of
- 6:40Speaker 3: athletic teams, just helping them. And I'm dealing a lot
- 6:43Speaker 3: with people dealing with their culture, and oftentimes people talking
- 6:48Speaker 3: about when when things aren't going right, things their teams
- 6:51Speaker 3: that are performing the way they should perform, lays dealing
- 6:54Speaker 3: with culture, their culture. And that's the first thing I did,
- 6:57Speaker 3: the first thing I talk about, So what is your culture?
- 7:00Speaker 5: Like?
- 7:00Speaker 3: What is your culture? Is your culture directing you in
- 7:05Speaker 3: the direction that you need to go or is it
- 7:07Speaker 3: directing you in the way that it's always been. And
- 7:09Speaker 3: oftentimes I find out that people are doing the same
- 7:11Speaker 3: thing that they've always done. It's because of the culture.
- 7:14Speaker 3: So yeah, but I do a lot of motivational speakings.
- 7:17Speaker 3: I love to talk and I love to help people.
- 7:19Speaker 3: And I hate that my client she can get on
- 7:22Speaker 3: tonight because she has a very powerful story. She definite
- 7:27Speaker 3: does a very powerful story.
- 7:30Speaker 4: The title of her book is awesome.
- 7:32Speaker 3: Yes, So, but I mean that's what I do. And
- 7:36Speaker 3: you know, I've helped her and then she got some
- 7:38Speaker 3: things coming up, and so that's that's me in a nutshell.
- 7:41Speaker 3: That's me in a nutshell, And I just hate that
- 7:44Speaker 3: she can't get on. But I can talk about what
- 7:47Speaker 3: she's doing and I can talk about me. You know,
- 7:49Speaker 3: I can talk, That's what I do.
- 7:51Speaker 4: I can talk, well, listen, we can definitely do that.
- 7:54Speaker 4: We can definitely talk and you can tell me about her.
- 7:58Speaker 4: And like I said, we're always going to have an
- 8:00Speaker 4: opportunity for her to be on here and once we
- 8:03Speaker 4: figure this whole thing out, so it's definitely no worries
- 8:06Speaker 4: on that. So you say you help people to identify
- 8:12Speaker 4: their culture that keeps them stuck in certain positions. How
- 8:15Speaker 4: do you go about doing that well?
- 8:18Speaker 3: As as a as an empowerment coach. You know, I
- 8:20Speaker 3: meet with them and they always give me the problems
- 8:23Speaker 3: as far as why they're stuck, and we look at
- 8:27Speaker 3: why they're wh why they're stuck, and we look at
- 8:30Speaker 3: the fact that, okay, things aren't really going the way
- 8:33Speaker 3: they want them to, and so we just started just
- 8:35Speaker 3: you know, just pick away, picking away, Like, Okay, you
- 8:38Speaker 3: have this goal, you have this dream, you have these
- 8:39Speaker 3: things you want to do, but nothing is happening. Let
- 8:42Speaker 3: you begin to find out why it's not happening. Let's
- 8:46Speaker 3: dig out, find out why you haven't written that book,
- 8:49Speaker 3: you haven't started that business. You know, you've been trying
- 8:52Speaker 3: to do this, this and this but it's been on
- 8:54Speaker 3: the shelf for the past ten, fifteen, twenty years and
- 8:56Speaker 3: nothing is happening. And oftentimes, again oftentimes we just start
- 9:00Speaker 3: right there, you know where you want to go? Where
- 9:03Speaker 3: do you see yourself? Okay, let's let's do a roadmap
- 9:06Speaker 3: to getting there. Let's get that roadmap going to get
- 9:09Speaker 3: you to that place.
- 9:11Speaker 4: So how do you get them to actually get off
- 9:15Speaker 4: of their I guess you could say their comfort zone?
- 9:19Speaker 4: What motivational tools do you use to say, Okay, yep,
- 9:24Speaker 4: you got a destination, but you're still sitting You've been
- 9:27Speaker 4: sitting for five years now talking about what it is
- 9:30Speaker 4: that you want to do. Why are you still here?
- 9:33Speaker 4: And what can I do today to help you get started?
- 9:37Speaker 4: What do you say to them when they are right
- 9:39Speaker 4: there after they've had the initial conversation?
- 9:42Speaker 3: What you know? What I say to them? You know,
- 9:46Speaker 3: they got to look past where you are, look at
- 9:49Speaker 3: where you are, because so many people are stuck because
- 9:51Speaker 3: they're looking at where they are, Yeah, looking at where
- 9:55Speaker 3: they are, and they can't see past that. And oftentimes,
- 9:58Speaker 3: when I'm dealing with young people, they don't know any
- 10:00Speaker 3: body that has achieved the goal that they're trying to set.
- 10:02Speaker 3: They don't know anybody that's you know, you know, you know,
- 10:05Speaker 3: even speaking for myself, I'm the only author in my family,
- 10:08Speaker 3: in my you know, so growing up, I didn't see
- 10:12Speaker 3: athors growing up. I didn't see entrepreneurs growing up. You know,
- 10:15Speaker 3: you see how you work twenty thirty years, you retire,
- 10:17Speaker 3: you to go watch it on the porch and rock
- 10:18Speaker 3: and chair, and you know, yeah, you weren't taught entrepreneurship.
- 10:22Speaker 3: You weren't taught these things. So first of all, I
- 10:25Speaker 3: allow people to see where they are. Then let's take
- 10:28Speaker 3: it for let's let's see where you want to go.
- 10:31Speaker 3: That's where you want to go. And by allowing them
- 10:34Speaker 3: to see where they want to go, now their mindset span,
- 10:37Speaker 3: because you're changing that mindset. Now their mindset span, you
- 10:40Speaker 3: go like, wow, I can get there. Yes you now,
- 10:44Speaker 3: let me help you get there. Let's build a roadmap
- 10:47Speaker 3: to getting you to that place where you want to be.
- 10:49Speaker 3: Let's build that roadmap.
- 10:51Speaker 4: And I think that's really important for people to understand
- 10:55Speaker 4: that you don't have to stay in the place that
- 10:57Speaker 4: you've been in. Your neighborhood has been a place that
- 11:00Speaker 4: you grew up in, the people that you've been familiar with.
- 11:03Speaker 4: Sometimes it's okay to be the only person in the
- 11:05Speaker 4: room that doesn't look like you, to be able to
- 11:08Speaker 4: show you that outside is different and you can actually
- 11:11Speaker 4: achieve anything that you set your mind to. Do you
- 11:14Speaker 4: think that sometimes we get comfortable in our surroundings and
- 11:20Speaker 4: we don't allow ourselves to see outside of where we
- 11:24Speaker 4: are because we don't want to be talked about or
- 11:27Speaker 4: look at crazy for want more for ourselves than our cousin,
- 11:32Speaker 4: our mom, or our dad or somebody that stat close
- 11:35Speaker 4: to us. We don't want to make it seem like
- 11:37Speaker 4: we're trying to be better than them. Do you think
- 11:40Speaker 4: that's sometimes that what keeps people in those comfortable Yes.
- 11:44Speaker 3: I mean I've dealt with people who have gone to
- 11:48Speaker 3: college and got these degrees, which you know, I'm not
- 11:50Speaker 3: against educational, and they still for twenty years, but they've
- 11:53Speaker 3: worked twenty years unhappy having a steady paycheck. But they're like,
- 12:00Speaker 3: I got a steady pay check coming in every other week,
- 12:02Speaker 3: but this is not what I want to do. This
- 12:04Speaker 3: is not what God has called me to do. And
- 12:05Speaker 3: a lot of people don't really search and really follow
- 12:09Speaker 3: that God given purpose because they are afraid, Like you say,
- 12:12Speaker 3: they're afraid of what somebody is going to say. Yeah,
- 12:16Speaker 3: if I follow my guy, God is telling me to
- 12:18Speaker 3: step out. Wait a minute, hold up, God is telling
- 12:19Speaker 3: me to step out. Yeah, God is telling you to
- 12:21Speaker 3: step out. But what are my friends going to say? Yeah,
- 12:24Speaker 3: I'm trying to start my business. What are my friends
- 12:26Speaker 3: gonna say if I step out and try to write
- 12:28Speaker 3: a book? What are my friends going to say? What's
- 12:29Speaker 3: my family going to say? And I'm like, hey, forget
- 12:31Speaker 3: about what your friends in the family. They've never read
- 12:33Speaker 3: in your check to pay your bills. So now you
- 12:35Speaker 3: walking in the purpose of God. And if you walking
- 12:37Speaker 3: in God's purpose, God's going to take care of you
- 12:40Speaker 3: and gets so comfortable, get so comfortable, and not get
- 12:45Speaker 3: so comfortable where they are. They don't want to go
- 12:47Speaker 3: where they.
- 12:47Speaker 4: Want to go, right, they don't want to be uncomfortable.
- 12:51Speaker 3: That comfort zone destroys so many people. That comfort zone
- 12:56Speaker 3: keeps so many people down. That comfort zone destroys so
- 13:00Speaker 3: many dreams. And it's so frustrating because I'm like, get
- 13:03Speaker 3: out of a comfort zone, Get out of a comfort zone.
- 13:06Speaker 3: So yeah, yeah, that comfort zone is definitely it's a trap.
- 13:12Speaker 4: In some senses. I feel like you know, you get
- 13:15Speaker 4: in this box and you want more for yourself. You
- 13:18Speaker 4: know that you're capable of more. Like I was having
- 13:22Speaker 4: a conversation with my dad not too long ago from
- 13:25Speaker 4: one of the podcasts that I had done, and he
- 13:28Speaker 4: was listening in, and I was talking about you find
- 13:31Speaker 4: your purpose and the things that you're passionate about and
- 13:34Speaker 4: the one thing that God keeps pushing you to do.
- 13:37Speaker 4: And after the show, my dad text me and he
- 13:40Speaker 4: was like, he didn't know what his purpose was, and
- 13:44Speaker 4: you know, and I told him, I said, well, Dad,
- 13:46Speaker 4: I can't really tell you what your purpose is, but
- 13:49Speaker 4: the one thing that you find comfort, peace and you're
- 13:52Speaker 4: very very passionate about, try to look more into that,
- 13:55Speaker 4: because there is something that God has been tugging at
- 13:58Speaker 4: you to do for a long time, and for a
- 14:02Speaker 4: long time you've ignored that one thing for whatever reason.
- 14:05Speaker 4: I'm not sure what it is, but you got to
- 14:07Speaker 4: tap into that because I don't know what it is
- 14:10Speaker 4: that you've always had the desire to do. But until
- 14:14Speaker 4: you decide to say, Okay, God, I'm not going to
- 14:16Speaker 4: run from what it is that you've been pushing me
- 14:18Speaker 4: towards and go ahead and do it, you'll understand that
- 14:22Speaker 4: your purpose is bigger than what you ever imagine. Absolutely absolutely,
- 14:26Speaker 4: That's one thing I had to do for myself though,
- 14:29Speaker 4: because starting my writing journey like publicly, like I've always
- 14:34Speaker 4: written as a kid, as a little girl, because that
- 14:36Speaker 4: was my way of expressing myself without interruption, without anybody saying,
- 14:42Speaker 4: you know, that's not how you feel, and so on
- 14:44Speaker 4: and so forth, and so when I first imparted on
- 14:48Speaker 4: this journey of an author, of course my best friend
- 14:52Speaker 4: was instrumental in that as well, but it was the
- 14:56Speaker 4: fact of I was writing poetry. I would post it
- 15:00Speaker 4: on Facebook and everything, but that was as far as
- 15:03Speaker 4: I was going. Then there was an opportunity for me
- 15:07Speaker 4: to do a spoken word event, something I was not
- 15:12Speaker 4: fond of doing because I have a fear of public speaking,
- 15:16Speaker 4: which is hard for people to believe in any capacity.
- 15:19Speaker 3: When they're.
- 15:22Speaker 4: So I definitely am not the one to at least
- 15:26Speaker 4: at not that point and not that time. I was
- 15:29Speaker 4: not the one for public speaking in any capacity. But
- 15:31Speaker 4: I stepped outside of my comfort zone and I went
- 15:34Speaker 4: to the spoken word event and I did one of
- 15:37Speaker 4: my poems. But with this writing, I had people tell
- 15:41Speaker 4: me that they would not have put their name on
- 15:45Speaker 4: my poetry book because number one, it didn't look perfect.
- 15:48Speaker 4: It looked like a bunch of stuff that was thrown together.
- 15:52Speaker 4: But it was twenty six of my favorite poems. And
- 15:54Speaker 4: mind you, I didn't have any idea what formatting looked like,
- 15:58Speaker 4: what editing looked like, or any thing of that nature.
- 16:01Speaker 4: I was just obedient to what God was saying I
- 16:04Speaker 4: needed to do, and that was put the poems in
- 16:08Speaker 4: book form and hit singing. That's exactly what I did,
- 16:15Speaker 4: and I didn't think about it. I didn't stress over
- 16:20Speaker 4: it too much, even though I'm kind of a perfectionist.
- 16:23Speaker 4: So I went back and re edited, and so when
- 16:25Speaker 4: I did my second book, I could see the growth
- 16:28Speaker 4: in what I had done. But had I listened to
- 16:31Speaker 4: the people that were saying, oh, I wouldn't have put
- 16:33Speaker 4: my name on that, I would not be where I
- 16:35Speaker 4: am now. I would not be hosting this podcast.
- 16:38Speaker 3: I would not be.
- 16:41Speaker 4: How many books have I written now? I've written six
- 16:44Speaker 4: for myself. I've helped co write six as well, So
- 16:49Speaker 4: it's a total of twelve books that I've been able
- 16:52Speaker 4: to do. And stepping out on what God said in
- 16:58Speaker 4: that prayer, praying, going into twenty nineteen. God helped me
- 17:03Speaker 4: to step out of my comfort zone, remove those people
- 17:06Speaker 4: who are not connected to the destiny and what you
- 17:08Speaker 4: have for me, and helped me to be okay with that.
- 17:11Speaker 4: And when I tell you, I did not know what
- 17:16Speaker 4: I was asking for, because He truly has helped me
- 17:20Speaker 4: to step out of my comfort zone. He has connected
- 17:23Speaker 4: me to the people that have been connected to this
- 17:26Speaker 4: destiny and to this journey that I'm on. And I
- 17:30Speaker 4: couldn't ask for a better group of women that I'm in,
- 17:33Speaker 4: especially with Miss Angela, because I met her doing a
- 17:38Speaker 4: podcast a virtual monologue event in twenty twenty one and
- 17:44Speaker 4: we've been connected ever since.
- 17:46Speaker 3: Awesome. Also, awesome, awesome, awesome. Good.
- 17:51Speaker 4: So you know, it's very vital to make sure that
- 17:55Speaker 4: you have people that are surrounding you that are connected
- 17:59Speaker 4: to pouring into you versus depleting you. How important is
- 18:04Speaker 4: that to you?
- 18:05Speaker 3: Now? That's very important. Now tell a lot I tell
- 18:08Speaker 3: my clients. You know, you got to have when you start,
- 18:11Speaker 3: when you step out, when you really walking in your
- 18:13Speaker 3: purpose and following what God is wanting you to wanting
- 18:15Speaker 3: you to do, You're going to lose friends, but you're
- 18:18Speaker 3: going to gain people who's going to truly pour into you. Yeah,
- 18:23Speaker 3: really make up your mind like this is I'm going
- 18:26Speaker 3: for this, I'm I'm going I'm going to start this business.
- 18:29Speaker 3: I'm going to write that book. I'm going to start
- 18:31Speaker 3: I'm going to do it. And so when you start,
- 18:34Speaker 3: when you really step out on the faith, and when
- 18:36Speaker 3: you step out knowing that God has you stepping out,
- 18:39Speaker 3: knowing that God is directing your steps, then you want
- 18:42Speaker 3: to lose people. And oftentimes I tell I tell a
- 18:45Speaker 3: lot of my clients the closest ones to you are
- 18:48Speaker 3: the ones who want to do are the ones who
- 18:50Speaker 3: is going to support you right you step out, Yes,
- 18:53Speaker 3: you're going to lose people, but God is going to
- 18:55Speaker 3: give you a tight knick. God is going to give
- 18:57Speaker 3: you those people that's going to lift you up when
- 18:59Speaker 3: you feel like giving up, They're gonna lift you up.
- 19:01Speaker 3: And you're like, I'm tired. No, let's keep going, Let's
- 19:03Speaker 3: keep going, Let's keep going. And when you get to
- 19:05Speaker 3: that finish line, you're gonna look back and you're gonna
- 19:07Speaker 3: see like, wow, I know who was there for me.
- 19:10Speaker 3: I know who was there with me. I know the
- 19:12Speaker 3: one whom I can call and I tell people all
- 19:15Speaker 3: the time, but a lot of my clients ninety nine
- 19:17Speaker 3: percent of the time, those people who are there with
- 19:19Speaker 3: you for you, the ones you can call, aren't the
- 19:22Speaker 3: ones in your household, aren't the ones you know that
- 19:24Speaker 3: you grew up with, you know, And that's just the
- 19:26Speaker 3: way it is. That's the way. And that doesn't mean
- 19:29Speaker 3: that your family is against you. It doesn't mean that
- 19:32Speaker 3: they're trying to hold you back. It's just the fact
- 19:34Speaker 3: that no one in the family has started the business
- 19:36Speaker 3: doing in the family it has done what you're striving
- 19:39Speaker 3: to do. So they're looking out for you, like, hey,
- 19:42Speaker 3: you don't know what you're doing. I'm afraid for you.
- 19:44Speaker 3: You need to stay in this job. You know this job,
- 19:47Speaker 3: stay in this job. You know you want to stay
- 19:50Speaker 3: in this job, but I want to know you need
- 19:52Speaker 3: to stay in this job. So it's not like the
- 19:53Speaker 3: family is trying to discourage you. They're just looking out
- 19:57Speaker 3: for you, saying, hey, let's have something coming in steady
- 20:02Speaker 3: coming in, as opposed to you stepping out there and
- 20:04Speaker 3: trying to start something that you have no clue about.
- 20:07Speaker 4: Yeah, and I get that, especially for the older generation,
- 20:11Speaker 4: they are all about stability, and so when they're about stability.
- 20:15Speaker 4: That is all they know that, it's all they see,
- 20:17Speaker 4: that is all they hear. And if you don't have
- 20:21Speaker 4: a clear cut out blueprint that you can actually hand them,
- 20:25Speaker 4: they're like, absolutely not. This is not gonna work. You
- 20:28Speaker 4: can't do that. You don't have any other source of income.
- 20:32Speaker 4: But it's like, okay, you told me to depend on God.
- 20:35Speaker 4: God will provide all my needs and anything that I
- 20:38Speaker 4: ask for, he will provide it. So He's not gonna
- 20:40Speaker 4: give me a vision without providing the provisions to see
- 20:43Speaker 4: that goal to come to life. So that was one
- 20:47Speaker 4: of the things that I would always say with my uncle, Well,
- 20:50Speaker 4: I don't see how you gonna do that. Well, God
- 20:53Speaker 4: told me to do it, so I'm gonna do this.
- 20:55Speaker 4: And you can't serve man and serve God at the
- 20:58Speaker 4: same time. And I think that's one of the things
- 21:01Speaker 4: that sometimes we get distracted by because people be like, well,
- 21:06Speaker 4: you didn't do what I told you to do. Okay,
- 21:09Speaker 4: but I did what God told me to do, and
- 21:11Speaker 4: God told me to wait. And so if I'm waiting
- 21:14Speaker 4: and I'm not showing up in the space where you
- 21:16Speaker 4: want me to show up, that's what God didn't tell
- 21:19Speaker 4: me to do that. God told me I needed to
- 21:21Speaker 4: be here at this time, at this location and do this,
- 21:25Speaker 4: and so it works out according to his will and
- 21:28Speaker 4: his plan for me, not yours. And I think sometimes
- 21:31Speaker 4: we get distracted, well, I wanted you to do this,
- 21:34Speaker 4: and even as parents, we do that I told you
- 21:36Speaker 4: to do this, And sometimes we think our kids are
- 21:38Speaker 4: being stubborn, but they also have a prayer life with
- 21:41Speaker 4: God as well. And if God is telling them to
- 21:44Speaker 4: hold on and wait and stead fast and that's what
- 21:47Speaker 4: they have to do now, we might be like, Okay,
- 21:50Speaker 4: you should have did that two weeks ago, and God
- 21:53Speaker 4: said no, I needed to wait. And then nine times
- 21:56Speaker 4: out of ten it's usually what God said. They need
- 22:00Speaker 4: to wait and wait and do it the way he said.
- 22:03Speaker 4: And it took a lot for me to understand that
- 22:05Speaker 4: with my kids. I got three grown kids, and I
- 22:08Speaker 4: had to understand that their path is not my. But
- 22:11Speaker 4: also with this journey of writing and entrepreneurship and all
- 22:15Speaker 4: of that, my kids to look at me as a
- 22:19Speaker 4: superhero and there's nothing that I could ever not do.
- 22:22Speaker 4: If I tell them I'm gonna do something, they know
- 22:24Speaker 4: that it's gonna get done. And I get on their
- 22:27Speaker 4: nerves so bad when it comes to doing stuff. They're like, okay, well,
- 22:32Speaker 4: we knew it was gonna be good. And I'm like, okay, well,
- 22:34Speaker 4: I wanted you to have a little doubt sometimes to say,
- 22:38Speaker 4: you know, you can't do this or whatever. But my
- 22:41Speaker 4: kids are not that way. They're like, Okay, you know
- 22:45Speaker 4: you can do it. Just just like the one book
- 22:47Speaker 4: that I wrote, Overcoming Childhood Trauma, My Journey to Healing. Now,
- 22:50Speaker 4: that book was my third one, and I was very
- 22:57Speaker 4: lazy when it came to actually completing that book. But
- 23:00Speaker 4: my middle child was like, Okay, today, all you're going
- 23:04Speaker 4: to do is sit in that room and write. You're
- 23:06Speaker 4: not coming out until you got at least three chapters written.
- 23:10Speaker 3: And I don't think.
- 23:12Speaker 4: I like how you're talking to me. He was like,
- 23:17Speaker 4: you had a goal, you had a deadline. Because he
- 23:19Speaker 4: asked me what my deadline for that book was and
- 23:22Speaker 4: I told him it was March. He said, okay, well
- 23:25Speaker 4: it's the second week in February and you haven't really
- 23:28Speaker 4: gotten anywhere, so I need you to be in this room.
- 23:32Speaker 4: Don't come out. If you need something to drink, you
- 23:34Speaker 4: need something to eat, you text one of us. But
- 23:37Speaker 4: you're not coming out this room done. And he helped
- 23:43Speaker 4: me to stay on task and I completed the book
- 23:45Speaker 4: and everything. But you got to have accountability partners. How
- 23:49Speaker 4: well do you feel they play a major role in
- 23:52Speaker 4: keeping people on their targets and their goals.
- 23:55Speaker 3: Oh god, I mean if you don't have an if
- 23:57Speaker 3: you don't have a truth, a true ability partner, you
- 24:01Speaker 3: you're still gonna be looking years of trying to build,
- 24:04Speaker 3: trying to grow, trying to get this done. So but
- 24:06Speaker 3: having a true accountability partner, someone who's gonna hold your
- 24:09Speaker 3: feet to the fire, you know, even like the clients
- 24:13Speaker 3: that work with you know, I tell hey, share it
- 24:16Speaker 3: with somebody, but you know, I'm gonna hold you accountable.
- 24:18Speaker 3: I'm you know, let's make some realistic I'm gonna hold
- 24:22Speaker 3: your accountable. Okay, you say you're gonna have this done
- 24:24Speaker 3: by July first. Boom, We're gonna make sure we're gonna
- 24:26Speaker 3: have this done by July first. And this is what
- 24:28Speaker 3: you said. And so having an accountability partner really boost
- 24:33Speaker 3: you up because now your accountability partner knows the path
- 24:36Speaker 3: that you're on, knows the thals that you have set
- 24:39Speaker 3: for yourself. And if they are a true accountability partner. Again,
- 24:43Speaker 3: they're gonna hold you to that, and then we'll push you.
- 24:45Speaker 3: They're gonna push you. They're gonna push you. So when
- 24:48Speaker 3: July first comes around and you like, God, this, you
- 24:50Speaker 3: know got treated to be getting on my nerves. But
- 24:52Speaker 3: when you look back, I'm so glad that she held
- 24:55Speaker 3: me accountable because now I've achieved this part of my goal. Yeah,
- 25:00Speaker 3: both departner. Someone who's true to the word. Someone is
- 25:02Speaker 3: gonna be true to you. Someone is gonna really push
- 25:05Speaker 3: you and hold you up. Yeah, hold your accountable. That's
- 25:09Speaker 3: so very key in achieving your goals. So very chy.
- 25:15Speaker 4: I like to believe that it is because I know
- 25:19Speaker 4: some people don't necessarily want me as an accountability partner.
- 25:22Speaker 4: Because if you tell me you have a goal and
- 25:25Speaker 4: a deadline that you want to do something, I'm gonna
- 25:29Speaker 4: hound you until you actually complete it. And I ain't
- 25:33Speaker 4: gonna take no for an answer. I'm annoying when it
- 25:37Speaker 4: comes to certain things, and especially when I know that
- 25:40Speaker 4: you have a goal and a desire, and especially if
- 25:43Speaker 4: you're coming to me with passionate about or what it
- 25:46Speaker 4: is that you want to do. If you're passionate about it,
- 25:49Speaker 4: then I'm just gonna be just as passionate as as
- 25:51Speaker 4: it is for you to get it done. And I
- 25:54Speaker 4: don't want you to disappoint me. I don't want you
- 25:57Speaker 4: to disappoint yourself more than anything. So if you tell me, hey, listen,
- 26:01Speaker 4: I want to do this by this day, okay, I'm
- 26:04Speaker 4: gonna call you, I'm gonna text you, I'm gonna check
- 26:06Speaker 4: in with y'all, gonna see what's going on. And I
- 26:09Speaker 4: pride myself in that when I'm helping somebody complete their book,
- 26:15Speaker 4: because they feel like sometimes it might be twelve o'clock
- 26:18Speaker 4: at night and they like, well, I don't want to
- 26:20Speaker 4: bother you, baby, you.
- 26:21Speaker 3: Can bother me.
- 26:22Speaker 4: I'm gonna answer your text as soon as I see it.
- 26:25Speaker 4: If I hear my phone go off, I'm gonna respond
- 26:28Speaker 4: because that's letting them know that they're important to me,
- 26:32Speaker 4: and I want them to know that they're not disturbing me.
- 26:34Speaker 4: And it's something that they have a legitimate question about.
- 26:37Speaker 4: And I always tell them there's really no such thing
- 26:40Speaker 4: as a stupid question. A stupid question is one that's
- 26:42Speaker 4: never answered or asked. And if you ask that question,
- 26:46Speaker 4: how you gonna know the answer. You're just not gonna know,
- 26:49Speaker 4: So you gotta ask the question to get the answer.
- 26:52Speaker 4: And I really don't believe in saying I don't know,
- 26:55Speaker 4: because you can. I always find out if you really
- 26:58Speaker 4: want to know. There's so much information out here, So
- 27:03Speaker 4: if you really and truly want to know, you'll figure
- 27:06Speaker 4: out how to get it. You know, what are one
- 27:10Speaker 4: of your biggest I want to say distractions when it
- 27:14Speaker 4: comes to having somebody that's really really stubborn that talks
- 27:20Speaker 4: about what they want to do, how do you get
- 27:22Speaker 4: them to budge?
- 27:26Speaker 3: I get them the budget by asking them if this
- 27:32Speaker 3: is really what they want? You know, so that you
- 27:36Speaker 3: know I have to start. Is this what you really want?
- 27:39Speaker 3: Do you really want to become an author? Do you
- 27:40Speaker 3: really want to start that business? Do you really want
- 27:43Speaker 3: to you can really want to, let's get started. Then
- 27:46Speaker 3: you start. When they start coming up with all these excuses,
- 27:49Speaker 3: I'm like, hold up, wait mane you really want it,
- 27:53Speaker 3: it don't matter. So either you want it or you don't.
- 27:56Speaker 3: And one thing I tell people, either you I can't
- 28:00Speaker 3: teach passion. I cannot teach passion. So if you have passion,
- 28:05Speaker 3: oh yeah, we're gonna go for it. We're going I
- 28:07Speaker 3: can't teach passion. I can help you get to the
- 28:10Speaker 3: edge of passion, but you're gonna you gotta have it
- 28:13Speaker 3: in you to take it. And again, but I do.
- 28:15Speaker 3: I paint the picture of where they want to go.
- 28:18Speaker 1: M hm.
- 28:18Speaker 3: I paint that picture, and if you really want it
- 28:21Speaker 3: bad enough, you're gonna you're gonna do it. And then
- 28:23Speaker 3: I also say, okay, you know, they start talking about distractions,
- 28:26Speaker 3: and I come back say, people make time for what
- 28:29Speaker 3: and who they want to make time for. If you're passionate,
- 28:33Speaker 3: if you're really true and want to make this happen,
- 28:36Speaker 3: you're gonna make it happen. All these distractions and I
- 28:39Speaker 3: know life happens, life happens, but you're talking about little things. Well,
- 28:44Speaker 3: you know, I got a phone call. I need to
- 28:46Speaker 3: go to the basketball game? What basketball game? Pull up?
- 28:48Speaker 3: You know, well, so and sold me to watch. No
- 28:50Speaker 3: oh wait, no, no, no, you want to make this happen.
- 28:52Speaker 3: So when the passion steps in and you know you're
- 28:55Speaker 3: walking into purpose, God has called you in, the distractions,
- 28:58Speaker 3: they're gonna come, but you're gonna be able to just block. Hey,
- 29:03Speaker 3: I'm on this track that I gotta make this happen.
- 29:06Speaker 3: I'm on this journey. I'm going to make this happen.
- 29:11Speaker 4: Life will definitely give you some detours, but it's up
- 29:14Speaker 4: to you to determine how much you're gonna get that
- 29:17Speaker 4: let that detour take you off course. And sometimes, you know,
- 29:21Speaker 4: we were a little hard headed with a little stubborn.
- 29:24Speaker 4: I know I'm guilty.
- 29:25Speaker 3: Hey you, amen, I got heard talking on both.
- 29:38Speaker 4: It's okay, it's okay, amen. Look and it's right on
- 29:52Speaker 4: time because we were talking about detours and determination and
- 29:57Speaker 4: when you listen, God is always time. He's never laid
- 30:01Speaker 4: at all. He always puts us in a position where
- 30:05Speaker 4: we need to be at the time we need to be. Now,
- 30:08Speaker 4: we got author Tanisha Linda Briggs with us. Now look here, now, devil,
- 30:17Speaker 4: look here, gone back and mind you go to your corner.
- 30:21Speaker 4: We ain't got time for your foolishness. But she coming
- 30:24Speaker 4: back and we got right now, go ahead and introduce
- 30:31Speaker 4: yourself and we're gonna talk to you and him.
- 30:34Speaker 6: All right, thank you, So get that good evening again.
- 30:37Speaker 6: My apologies, it's computer. But nobody's mad but the devil determination.
- 30:45Speaker 6: I was determined not to have my twenty one year
- 30:48Speaker 6: old son to help his Mama, I was gonna will
- 30:53Speaker 6: go no matter what the.
- 30:55Speaker 5: Obstacle tried to come up against me again.
- 30:58Speaker 6: Tanisha Linderbris I am the author of How Dysfunctional Drove
- 31:04Speaker 6: Me to My Destiny.
- 31:05Speaker 5: This is my first published book of.
- 31:07Speaker 6: Many to come.
- 31:09Speaker 4: Yes, I know you.
- 31:11Speaker 5: I have met my coach. I called him coach E.
- 31:16Speaker 6: I like to describe him as a great pair of
- 31:21Speaker 6: when sheer wifers. Okay, because during my journey and still
- 31:26Speaker 6: on my journey, things came to try to stop me,
- 31:31Speaker 6: that came to to try to defeat me, and so
- 31:35Speaker 6: coach it was like a.
- 31:36Speaker 5: Past winstet wife was when things were.
- 31:38Speaker 6: Coming in my.
- 31:42Speaker 4: Little care devil, she got a story to telling.
- 31:45Speaker 6: He would, you know, give me inspiration and courage and
- 31:50Speaker 6: just look, we're gonna swipe that off was trying to
- 31:53Speaker 6: come against you, and you're gonna keep going.
- 31:57Speaker 5: So you can see. So he was the one that
- 31:59Speaker 5: kind of helped maneuver and keep my view clear.
- 32:04Speaker 3: Mm hm.
- 32:05Speaker 4: And see I see listen, we were talking about determination
- 32:11Speaker 4: and drive. We can still hear you. We can see
- 32:15Speaker 4: you ain't nothing going on. We got you you there,
- 32:19Speaker 4: what you're doing over there, But talking about driving, determination,
- 32:26Speaker 4: That's one thing that I always know that when the
- 32:30Speaker 4: devil does not want you, you might have ta.
- 32:43Speaker 5: Okay, yeah we can.
- 32:45Speaker 6: Hear you can't Okay, okay, I'm not sure what's going on,
- 32:48Speaker 6: so I'm not I'm trying to do this from I
- 32:51Speaker 6: got walking through the up.
- 32:52Speaker 5: You got a cell phone going so but you see
- 32:57Speaker 5: my determination.
- 33:00Speaker 4: I don't even feel bad because I got my other
- 33:02Speaker 4: laptop over here because the last couple of times I've
- 33:05Speaker 4: been on it's been trying to do its own little thing.
- 33:08Speaker 4: So like I never the devil wants to try to distract.
- 33:12Speaker 4: You need to do any and everything that when God has.
- 33:16Speaker 5: For you you at all, and you gonna get that,
- 33:22Speaker 5: you have to push and.
- 33:28Speaker 4: Your book? How dysfunction got you where you are? What
- 33:33Speaker 4: was it that made you decide to name your book
- 33:36Speaker 4: that and to actually move forward to doing it? Because
- 33:42Speaker 4: I know that you got that determination spirit to make
- 33:45Speaker 4: sure that it's done. Outside of that, what was the
- 33:48Speaker 4: other motivating factor to name your book that and to
- 33:51Speaker 4: actually just do it right?
- 33:54Speaker 5: So the biggest thing the dysfunction was everything that went on.
- 34:01Speaker 6: Behind the car, the things I guess, the you know,
- 34:04Speaker 6: the trials, the the car, the breaking down.
- 34:07Speaker 5: And so the car was it was an older car,
- 34:10Speaker 5: nineteen eighty nine. And so it was it was an
- 34:13Speaker 5: older car.
- 34:14Speaker 6: So you know, as with anything, you know, get a
- 34:16Speaker 6: little squeaking, you know, you need to give it a
- 34:19Speaker 6: little w d for it every once in a while.
- 34:21Speaker 6: And so the it was just the thefunction of the car,
- 34:24Speaker 6: like things were not properly working correctly.
- 34:28Speaker 5: So that's where the defunction came from. It wasn't functioning properly.
- 34:32Speaker 6: And of course the droves because we're talking about a car.
- 34:36Speaker 5: We're talking about how a car drove me.
- 34:40Speaker 6: And so my destiny and I call it my destiny
- 34:43Speaker 6: because without this car about the car, I wouldn't have
- 34:46Speaker 6: learnt the lessons, right, without the lessons, I wouldn't be
- 34:50Speaker 6: walking into my destiny. So I've always had a purpose
- 34:56Speaker 6: for writing. I've always been a writer. And so going
- 35:00Speaker 6: through the storms and tribulations that that's in this book.
- 35:05Speaker 5: That I hope you all would get.
- 35:10Speaker 6: It was, I've always knew I've had a voice to
- 35:14Speaker 6: inspire and encourage other people. And so I thought, you
- 35:17Speaker 6: know what, I've never been a big, you know, social
- 35:23Speaker 6: media person, you know, just want to get on and
- 35:25Speaker 6: just speak, and so I thought, you know, everybody liked
- 35:28Speaker 6: to read, you know, they read what they want to read.
- 35:31Speaker 5: And what better way to.
- 35:34Speaker 6: Help a young lady or a male just going through
- 35:38Speaker 6: a storm similar to mine, or just going through you know,
- 35:42Speaker 6: life challenges, you know, life is life, and let them know,
- 35:46Speaker 6: just really encourage. My biggest thing was I wanted to encourage.
- 35:50Speaker 6: I wanted to encourage that female or that mood that's
- 35:54Speaker 6: wanting to give up. You know, maybe she is a
- 35:57Speaker 6: single mother, maybe he is a single dad, maybe they
- 36:01Speaker 6: don't even have kids. It's going through life to give up.
- 36:03Speaker 6: Don't know where you know the nick Niel is gonna
- 36:06Speaker 6: come from. Don't see the light, don't cannot see the
- 36:09Speaker 6: light at the end of the tunnel. And so I thought,
- 36:11Speaker 6: you know, what better way to put my story in
- 36:15Speaker 6: a book to help others.
- 36:18Speaker 4: And see, that's a good way to look at it.
- 36:20Speaker 4: Most people think some people just be right and just
- 36:22Speaker 4: to make money, And it's for you, right and to
- 36:26Speaker 4: make money. Sometimes you're definitely gonna, I say, most of
- 36:29Speaker 4: the time, you're gonna miss the mark because if that
- 36:31Speaker 4: is your whole goal, you're not doing it for the
- 36:35Speaker 4: actual being able to touch somebody, to change, to let
- 36:39Speaker 4: us know that you are the blueprint to get over
- 36:42Speaker 4: with it's right through. They're in the middle of a storm.
- 36:45Speaker 4: But if they just keep walking, they'll storm. But if
- 36:49Speaker 4: I stay there, you're definitely gonna get soaked and you're
- 36:52Speaker 4: gonna get overwhelmed in in a way to where you're
- 36:56Speaker 4: weight down by the way of the water. Instead is
- 37:00Speaker 4: kept moving, you'll eventually be well and dry and the
- 37:03Speaker 4: sun's on the other side. So you just got to
- 37:06Speaker 4: keep walking through the story.
- 37:08Speaker 5: Dude, you have to. And that was one of my
- 37:10Speaker 5: biggest things with Coach.
- 37:11Speaker 6: I kept telling him, you know, I said, you know,
- 37:14Speaker 6: I know that there is you know, a financial peace,
- 37:16Speaker 6: you know, becoming an author. But I kept saying, Coach,
- 37:19Speaker 6: I'm not in it for the money. I want people
- 37:22Speaker 6: to really see me, the real rob me. None of
- 37:25Speaker 6: this has made up.
- 37:26Speaker 3: This is real truth.
- 37:29Speaker 6: So I said, my purpose is God wants real people.
- 37:32Speaker 6: It's time out for making up, you know. And don't
- 37:35Speaker 6: get me wrong, you know, kudos to the ones that
- 37:37Speaker 6: are writing stories, you know, for fun and want to
- 37:40Speaker 6: you know, let people hear well, you know they sound good,
- 37:42Speaker 6: let's read that.
- 37:43Speaker 5: But people really need to know that people are out
- 37:46Speaker 5: here going through. But they also need to know what
- 37:49Speaker 5: survived vers look like now.
- 37:51Speaker 6: They also need to know that if we continue to
- 37:54Speaker 6: push and don't give up, because the storms are gonna come,
- 37:57Speaker 6: the weapons are going to form, but that with God,
- 38:02Speaker 6: that's right, they're not gonna prosper. They're and you have
- 38:05Speaker 6: to surrender. You have to get out of your way.
- 38:07Speaker 5: And that was my biggest thing. Ah you standing.
- 38:11Speaker 4: Yes, Yes, Well I can say I'm one of those
- 38:16Speaker 4: people too because I stood in my way for a
- 38:18Speaker 4: long time, even though I hadn't saying, hey, you needed
- 38:21Speaker 4: to do this, you needed to do that. And then
- 38:23Speaker 4: my health took a turn for the worst. I had
- 38:25Speaker 4: a stroke at thirty, diagnosed with the brain aneurysm and
- 38:29Speaker 4: kyr my information, lost my speech, lost my ability to walk,
- 38:33Speaker 4: and all those things. But God said, if you trust me,
- 38:38Speaker 4: I'll carry you through. But you gotta trust me, and
- 38:42Speaker 4: I'm gonna.
- 38:42Speaker 7: Tell you it was days. I'm like, God, look here,
- 38:45Speaker 7: I don't know who child you think I am, and
- 38:48Speaker 7: I don't know what you think I got in me,
- 38:51Speaker 7: but I don't trust you. If you give me to
- 38:54Speaker 7: get through today, I will be good tomorrow. And when
- 38:58Speaker 7: I tell you he has got me through to this
- 39:02Speaker 7: point right here. And I was talking to my best
- 39:04Speaker 7: friend yesterday.
- 39:05Speaker 4: I was with her and I was telling her that
- 39:08Speaker 4: last year was the first year since two thousand and
- 39:12Speaker 4: nine that I have not had an overnight visit in
- 39:15Speaker 4: the hospital since then, and I am grateful, I am blessed,
- 39:21Speaker 4: and I am highly favored. Even with me having issues
- 39:25Speaker 4: with my breathing earlier last year, it was really really
- 39:30Speaker 4: bad to where I was getting the steroid injections, I
- 39:34Speaker 4: was getting the pretizon packs, I was doing the injections
- 39:38Speaker 4: and all of that just to breathe, and God still
- 39:43Speaker 4: allowed me to go. But I was able to go
- 39:47Speaker 4: home the same night, so I did not have an
- 39:50Speaker 4: overnight visit. And I'm greatful that He keeps carrying me
- 39:53Speaker 4: because I want people to understand I may not look
- 39:56Speaker 4: like I got anything going on with me, but God
- 40:01Speaker 4: shows you what you need to see when you need
- 40:03Speaker 4: to write. I don't look like what I've been going through.
- 40:06Speaker 4: I don't look like what I've ever had going on.
- 40:09Speaker 4: I don't talk like I've had a speech issue. I
- 40:13Speaker 4: don't do any of that. And that's because God's grace
- 40:15Speaker 4: and his mercy, he keeps keeping He's keeping me here
- 40:19Speaker 4: because there's a divine purpose that's bigger than me. And
- 40:22Speaker 4: just like you said, you didn't do this to be
- 40:24Speaker 4: on social media to do all of that, I'm not
- 40:27Speaker 4: a social media person. I'm like those things here and there,
- 40:31Speaker 4: but I'm not looking for fame. I'm not looking for
- 40:33Speaker 4: for I'm looking for what God has for me, and
- 40:36Speaker 4: as long as He has me and the places in
- 40:38Speaker 4: the spaces where I'm supposed to be. I told somebody
- 40:41Speaker 4: this last year and I stand by it now. My
- 40:46Speaker 4: schedule is only open for appointments and where I'm supposed
- 40:50Speaker 4: to be. And if it ain't on God's schedule for me,
- 40:52Speaker 4: don't expect me to be there because that ain't.
- 40:55Speaker 2: On right right right.
- 40:58Speaker 4: So if it ain't got an appointment book for me, baby,
- 41:02Speaker 4: I ain't going. So if you say you didn't see
- 41:05Speaker 4: me there or you didn't know why it didn't come,
- 41:07Speaker 4: because it wasn't no God's agenda for me to be there,
- 41:09Speaker 4: because I'm only places in spaces where He had uh
- 41:13Speaker 4: put the appointment in the book for me. And that's
- 41:16Speaker 4: all I'm gonna.
- 41:17Speaker 3: Do about that.
- 41:20Speaker 4: That What has been your biggest I want to say,
- 41:25Speaker 4: your biggest roadblock that you were able to overcome to
- 41:28Speaker 4: actually get to this space.
- 41:32Speaker 5: Biggest road block.
- 41:33Speaker 4: Now, I know you said you was one of those
- 41:36Speaker 4: to where you didn't really want to step out. But
- 41:39Speaker 4: what helped you to get out of your own way?
- 41:47Speaker 5: I would say.
- 41:50Speaker 6: My children, Okay, because when you when you think of
- 41:55Speaker 6: young people, they have role models, and a lot of
- 41:58Speaker 6: times the role models be people that they can just
- 42:02Speaker 6: see on TV screens or you know what I mean,
- 42:06Speaker 6: the movies, or to read about them.
- 42:08Speaker 5: And so.
- 42:10Speaker 6: I started having conversations about, you know, with my kids,
- 42:15Speaker 6: and I'm asking, you know, you know what, you know,
- 42:18Speaker 6: what path you want to take, you know, and they
- 42:20Speaker 6: would say, you know how I want to do this,
- 42:21Speaker 6: but you know, I don't know, just really making excuses
- 42:24Speaker 6: and so they it was I was like they was
- 42:27Speaker 6: using their word my words back on them, and so
- 42:31Speaker 6: I'm like, you know, you can do it, you can.
- 42:33Speaker 5: Do it, don't give up. Stuff gonna come out.
- 42:35Speaker 6: And so it was my oldest son, who at the
- 42:37Speaker 6: time was spent to go to CDL school, okay, and
- 42:42Speaker 6: what's working third shift? But just come really see the way,
- 42:45Speaker 6: like how all of this was gonna come together.
- 42:48Speaker 5: And so.
- 42:50Speaker 6: I looked at him and I said, you really can
- 42:54Speaker 6: do this, and he looked back at me and said, well,
- 42:57Speaker 6: why haven't you.
- 43:01Speaker 4: That had hard and that the head really hard.
- 43:04Speaker 5: And so at that at that moment, I you know,
- 43:08Speaker 5: it was like a lightbulb, and the Holy Spirit told
- 43:11Speaker 5: me that your children, even though that boys, they look
- 43:16Speaker 5: to me I am and they will tell you I'm
- 43:19Speaker 5: their hero.
- 43:21Speaker 4: Yeah, my mama can do it.
- 43:24Speaker 5: We can do it too.
- 43:25Speaker 6: If my mama can you know, go through this and
- 43:28Speaker 6: go through this and steal you know, see her dreams
- 43:32Speaker 6: come true.
- 43:32Speaker 5: We can do it.
- 43:33Speaker 6: And so they were really my big, my biggest inspiration,
- 43:37Speaker 6: just because I wanted them to see the book at
- 43:41Speaker 6: the end. I wanted them to see the published author.
- 43:44Speaker 6: I wanted them to see not only you know, my
- 43:46Speaker 6: mom just wrote one book. You know, I want them
- 43:48Speaker 6: to see that you know, you can't stop right, that
- 43:49Speaker 6: you got to keep going and even though you know,
- 43:52Speaker 6: come up against me.
- 43:54Speaker 5: I wanted them to see that. Let me be their
- 43:57Speaker 5: example to my own children. You see what I'm saying.
- 44:01Speaker 6: And so I'm happy to say that my son, he
- 44:04Speaker 6: he went to school and he finished his you know,
- 44:07Speaker 6: he finished school and got his you know, CDs and
- 44:10Speaker 6: then's traveling. And so I want to think that even
- 44:14Speaker 6: though I didn't go to school for my CDs, I
- 44:16Speaker 6: want to think that I know that God used me
- 44:19Speaker 6: absolutely so that my son, who has so many odds
- 44:24Speaker 6: against him, will keep pushing forward.
- 44:26Speaker 5: And so that's what I want, you know, my children
- 44:28Speaker 5: and my nieces and nephews.
- 44:29Speaker 6: And oh you know kids, you know that I'm around
- 44:32Speaker 6: it with to know that you know, hey, if she
- 44:34Speaker 6: can do it, we can do too. It's not gonna
- 44:37Speaker 6: be easy, but with God, you know God. And and
- 44:40Speaker 6: that's one thing I instealing everybody. With God, it's not
- 44:43Speaker 6: gonna work.
- 44:45Speaker 4: Yeah, whatever has to be first, that's right. You got
- 44:49Speaker 4: to keep him included. And I will say this, I
- 44:51Speaker 4: agree with you and your your son telling you that
- 44:54Speaker 4: because I had an excuse to and my daughter was
- 44:57Speaker 4: instrumental in me being literally on this path right now.
- 45:02Speaker 4: Because my daughter was away. It was her after her
- 45:05Speaker 4: first year in college at Clafland University, and I had
- 45:09Speaker 4: told her that I had made an appointment when Virginia
- 45:12Speaker 4: College was here in Spartanburg. I had made an appointment
- 45:15Speaker 4: to go and talk to the enrollment specialist and told
- 45:19Speaker 4: her after she had came home for the summer, told
- 45:21Speaker 4: her what the date and the time and everything was,
- 45:24Speaker 4: and then I told her the day that it came,
- 45:27Speaker 4: I told her that I wasn't going.
- 45:29Speaker 5: Oh.
- 45:30Speaker 4: She came in my room and she said, you get
- 45:33Speaker 4: dressed because we got an appointment. And I said, yeah,
- 45:37Speaker 4: I'm not going. I changed my mind. I'm not going.
- 45:39Speaker 4: She said, well, I'm gonna give you thirty minutes to
- 45:40Speaker 4: get dressed, and we getting in the car and we're gone.
- 45:42Speaker 4: So I said, okay, fine, I'm gonna go, but I'm
- 45:45Speaker 4: probably not gonna find nothing. When I tell y'all, I
- 45:48Speaker 4: had every excuse under the sun. And my daughter sat
- 45:53Speaker 4: there be cause I was like, okay, I haven't been
- 45:55Speaker 4: in school in nineteen years. I got to take an
- 45:57Speaker 4: assessment test. I'm not gonna do well on it and everything.
- 46:00Speaker 4: And my daughter said, look here, Mama, I'm gonna tell
- 46:03Speaker 4: you like this. I have seen you lose your ability
- 46:06Speaker 4: to walk, I have saw you lose your ability to speak.
- 46:09Speaker 4: You have overcome all of that, and right now all
- 46:12Speaker 4: I hear is excuses. There is nothing that you cannot do.
- 46:15Speaker 4: But what you are gonna do. You gonna go in
- 46:17Speaker 4: there and take that assessment test. After you take that
- 46:20Speaker 4: test and pass, we're going to financial aid. When I
- 46:24Speaker 4: tell you, that's exactly what I did with A I
- 46:28Speaker 4: started my classes on my youngest son's birthday, and so
- 46:33Speaker 4: that was That was in twenty fifteen. I graduated in
- 46:38Speaker 4: twenty seventeen. With my associates and medical office administration, I
- 46:42Speaker 4: got certified in doing that and I finished. It was
- 46:46Speaker 4: supposed take me two years. I finished it a year
- 46:48Speaker 4: and nine months. So it can be done, and I
- 46:53Speaker 4: did it. Now, I'm gonna be honest with y'all. Left
- 46:56Speaker 4: that building a couple times in a stretch of going
- 46:59Speaker 4: to the hospital, but I was determined to go to class,
- 47:03Speaker 4: so I let my disability confine me as me from
- 47:08Speaker 4: doing what I was supposed to do. So, if you
- 47:11Speaker 4: really want it, and if God has given you the vision,
- 47:14Speaker 4: you're going to see it through. Because God's not gonna
- 47:17Speaker 4: get something that he's not gonna help you see through
- 47:20Speaker 4: to the end. You just gotta want it bad enough.
- 47:23Speaker 4: And God said faith without works is dead.
- 47:25Speaker 1: So what.
- 47:27Speaker 4: He wants to see you work and move on your
- 47:29Speaker 4: own behalf. So if you're not moving on your behalf,
- 47:33Speaker 4: God gonna sit there and wait for you too. And
- 47:35Speaker 4: we often we had strong sometimes and we are stubborn
- 47:39Speaker 4: and we right, of course, and when we get our course,
- 47:42Speaker 4: God is on GPS system and I say, if you
- 47:45Speaker 4: go off course, you know that GPS will say re routing,
- 47:49Speaker 4: rerouting besides your head and said rerouting get back. I
- 47:53Speaker 4: told you to get on. Nobody told you to go
- 47:56Speaker 4: over there. Nobody go over there.
- 47:59Speaker 3: Now.
- 48:01Speaker 4: I thank you both for being here with me tonight.
- 48:03Speaker 4: Oh yes, I definitely want you guys to come to
- 48:08Speaker 4: the book release. This is gonna be my birth my
- 48:11Speaker 4: very first book signing, but it's also a very special
- 48:16Speaker 4: event also for my mom. It's my mom. It would
- 48:19Speaker 4: have been her sixty sixth birthday on July the fifth.
- 48:23Speaker 4: So I would love to have you guys there with me. Now,
- 48:27Speaker 4: what is something that you would leave our guests with tonight?
- 48:31Speaker 4: What would be your closing remarks? And then tell them
- 48:34Speaker 4: how they can get in contact with you if they
- 48:36Speaker 4: would want to have you speak at an event that
- 48:39Speaker 4: they have coming up, how they can get your books,
- 48:41Speaker 4: and just how they can connect with you. Either one
- 48:44Speaker 4: of y'all could go first.
- 48:46Speaker 6: Okay, I'll give a quote that I would you know,
- 48:51Speaker 6: last remarks, and then I'll let Coach give out all
- 48:54Speaker 6: the details because I'm sure i'll probably miss something. If
- 49:00Speaker 6: I can leave anybody with anything, it would be one surrender,
- 49:05Speaker 6: surrender to God. Surrender whatever it is, let it go.
- 49:10Speaker 5: It's not going to work the way you want it
- 49:15Speaker 5: to work. It's only gonna work the way God wants
- 49:19Speaker 5: it to work. And if I can do it, you can.
- 49:22Speaker 2: Do it too.
- 49:25Speaker 4: How can they get your book? Tell us that so
- 49:29Speaker 4: so the.
- 49:34Speaker 5: I got more? So, Yeah, the book contact me Facebook, author.
- 49:39Speaker 6: Tunisia, I'm send me a message or book is on
- 49:43Speaker 6: Amazon author Tuanisha. The book on Amazon is I think
- 49:48Speaker 6: there's a more up charge on Amazon only because of
- 49:52Speaker 6: the shipping. But if you do contact me to get
- 49:57Speaker 6: the book, I can sign the book for you. So yeah,
- 50:01Speaker 6: just reach out to me. Authorise on Facebook and also
- 50:05Speaker 6: author Tennis Instagram.
- 50:07Speaker 4: Okay, okay, all right, now, you know I said doctor s.
- 50:14Speaker 3: Well, you know, I'm just I mean, I'm just excited.
- 50:18Speaker 3: I'm happy that we was able to get on and
- 50:21Speaker 3: happy to find you know, talk to you, you know,
- 50:25Speaker 3: but you know, I'm I'm just going to close out
- 50:28Speaker 3: with this. I'm so proud of, uh the work that
- 50:32Speaker 3: Tunisia has done to put in this book, and you
- 50:34Speaker 3: working on some other things, but you know this is
- 50:36Speaker 3: the book. And we will be at the at your
- 50:39Speaker 3: at your book signing on the fifth. Yeah, we're gonna
- 50:43Speaker 3: have We're gonna have books there. You know we're not
- 50:45Speaker 3: you know, we're not trying to overshadow what you're doing
- 50:46Speaker 3: because I know this is like purchase a book. We
- 50:50Speaker 3: will have them there. There are fifteen dollars who they
- 50:53Speaker 3: will have. We will have books there. But you know what,
- 50:56Speaker 3: this is a great read. It's a great read. But
- 50:58Speaker 3: you know, I got a lot of things coming. But
- 51:02Speaker 3: if I won't believe that, believe with anything. I always
- 51:04Speaker 3: tell people, believe in yourself. Believe in yourself. When you
- 51:08Speaker 3: believe in yourself, all the doubters go out the door.
- 51:12Speaker 3: Believe in yourself. But in believing yourself, believe that God
- 51:15Speaker 3: has called you for such a time as this. I
- 51:18Speaker 3: believe that God has called you for such a time
- 51:20Speaker 3: as this. Because we can come up with excuses, we
- 51:23Speaker 3: can let distractions get in our way. But when you
- 51:25Speaker 3: believe in yourself and know that God has called you
- 51:29Speaker 3: for such a time as this, can't nobody stop. You
- 51:32Speaker 3: can't nobody stop you, and like my matto is, always
- 51:36Speaker 3: expect greater and all that you do expect greater. But
- 51:38Speaker 3: why because there's greatness on the inside of each and everybody.
- 51:41Speaker 3: There's greatness on this side of you. But are you
- 51:43Speaker 3: willing to allow that greatness to come out and share
- 51:46Speaker 3: it and help those such as trevetas, such as Tuenisha.
- 51:50Speaker 3: You know you're you're you're helping people overcome, You're helping
- 51:53Speaker 3: people better themselves. You're helping people. I tell TV sh
- 51:56Speaker 3: all the time, she's saving lives. She's going to be
- 52:00Speaker 3: yan helping people. She's saving lives because the pact the
- 52:04Speaker 3: book has had in the short time that it's been out,
- 52:07Speaker 3: it's been remarkable. For me, it's been remarkable. So she's
- 52:12Speaker 3: literally saving lives because people are reading this and like it.
- 52:16Speaker 3: It's really transparent. And then you went through this, and
- 52:21Speaker 3: you know, I just broke I just broke a fingerail
- 52:23Speaker 3: over here, and I'm complaining about a fail, but you
- 52:26Speaker 3: went through this, right, I'm I had to make arrangements
- 52:30Speaker 3: on my telephone bill, but you went through this. I
- 52:33Speaker 3: don't have nothing to complain about after reading your book.
- 52:36Speaker 3: You saved me. So believe in yourself believe in yourself,
- 52:41Speaker 3: believe in what you want to do, and if you
- 52:44Speaker 3: need help getting to that destination, getting a roadmap, reach
- 52:48Speaker 3: out to me. Reach out to me. I'm on Facebook,
- 52:50Speaker 3: Edward el sa rat As you see my name there.
- 52:52Speaker 3: I'm on Facebook, Instagram. I think it's expect Greater. I
- 52:56Speaker 3: believe that's my mato, that's my daily matto because I
- 52:59Speaker 3: know there's greatness on the inside of each and everybody.
- 53:02Speaker 3: So and also, if you can't get Tunisia for a book,
- 53:05Speaker 3: reach out to me. I can make sure I can
- 53:07Speaker 3: get get the information to her to where you can't
- 53:09Speaker 3: get assigned to copy. So you know, I keep talking forever,
- 53:12Speaker 3: but we're not going to do that because it's late.
- 53:15Speaker 4: Well, I thank you vote for being here.
- 53:17Speaker 5: Thank you.
- 53:18Speaker 4: Yes, absolutely, I couldn't wait to talk to both of
- 53:22Speaker 4: you after reading your bios and listening in on one
- 53:25Speaker 4: of the shows that mins Angela did on TikTok with
- 53:30Speaker 4: Doctor Sarat keep saying it because it is what it is.
- 53:34Speaker 4: But I thank you both for being here, taking the
- 53:37Speaker 4: time to speak with me and everybody who needed to
- 53:41Speaker 4: hear what you guys had to say tonight was definitely here.
- 53:44Speaker 4: There was no mistake. You came in right on time
- 53:47Speaker 4: because we were talking about driving determination. That is always, guys,
- 53:52Speaker 4: to divine Tom and he's never late, he's never the
- 53:54Speaker 4: lot denied. He knows exactly what he's doing when he
- 53:58Speaker 4: needs to do it. And I always close out my
- 54:00Speaker 4: show with saying this, and that is stay out of
- 54:03Speaker 4: God's business. The only thing he needs you to do
- 54:05Speaker 4: is be obedient to what he's.
- 54:06Speaker 3: Called you to do.
- 54:08Speaker 4: I thank you guys for tuning in.
- 54:12Speaker 3: Yes, and I'm sure you have back by your stuff
- 54:16Speaker 3: next time.
- 54:17Speaker 4: Yeah, definitely, Okay, so good, thank you, You're welcome. Good night,
- 54:24Speaker 4: y'all go
