God Will Not Be Mocked
In Matthew 27, we encounter one of the most heartbreaking scenes in Scripture. Roman soldiers surround Jesus, dress Him in a scarlet robe, press a crown of thorns upon His head, place a reed in His hand, kneel before Him in mock worship, spit upon Him, and strike Him. They think Jesus is powerless. They think His claim to kingship is a joke. Yet the great irony is that everything they mockingly proclaim is true: Jesus really is the King.
