- 0:00Speaker 1: Coming up on relatables. You're technically going with the flow. Yeah,
- 0:03Speaker 1: but I've still got what I wanted on your schedule.
- 0:07Speaker 1: This was not planned.
- 0:09Speaker 2: I don't think I can go with the flow with you.
- 0:11Speaker 2: I'm breaking up with you.
- 0:13Speaker 1: I love you. I don't care. I never ever, I
- 0:18Speaker 1: don't care.
- 0:21Speaker 3: I was scared a staff member had seen me or
- 0:23Speaker 3: something and like was gonna stop me. And it's definitely
- 0:27Speaker 3: on camera somewhere.
- 0:29Speaker 1: You didn't even like you didn't go get a staff
- 0:31Speaker 1: everyone and be like, I'm so sorry.
- 0:33Speaker 2: I actually just Part two of Odie's experience in therapy.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Relatable the Relatables podcast is hosted by myself Forty Clark
- 0:51Speaker 2: aka Mummy and my partner in crime, mister Jake Craig
- 0:54Speaker 2: aka Daddy or Big D something.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Like to call him. That's fucking go best fla call
- 0:59Speaker 1: met his girl frien.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Maybe I should start calling you little D, little D,
- 1:04Speaker 2: more accurate, more relatables.
- 1:08Speaker 1: As we gotta argue with that, I'll out here rep
- 1:11Speaker 1: the little d's. Don't you were about that? It's all
- 1:13Speaker 1: about the personality. You're a good little D's. It's all
- 1:18Speaker 1: about the personality. It's fucking guys, middle of summer. Is
- 1:21Speaker 1: the hottest day we've had.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Yes, it's like thirty nine degrees. Jake is sweating.
- 1:25Speaker 1: We have an air con.
- 1:26Speaker 2: Have you been doing air Have you been doing aircorn?
- 1:28Speaker 2: Have you been doing cardio?
- 1:29Speaker 1: Mate? I fucking I just went down to the toilet
- 1:31Speaker 1: and checked on Henry and from the gap, walking from
- 1:34Speaker 1: the door to here up the stairs sweating. It's insane.
- 1:38Speaker 1: Have you doing cardio? No? Maybe should Oh yeah, maybe
- 1:41Speaker 1: I should have worked on that heart held. Oh it's
- 1:43Speaker 1: freaking insane. I don't even know what it is. I had,
- 1:45Speaker 1: like a had a burrito for lunch. Perhaps maybe what
- 1:48Speaker 1: it is in the microwave burrito got the beats. Maybe
- 1:50Speaker 1: maybe it's not agreeing with me? Tell you what the.
- 1:53Speaker 2: Heat's good for? What a heated argument there, let's fucking go.
- 1:57Speaker 2: I don't know if I'm ready for it. Today's argue
- 2:00Speaker 2: is going to be going with the flow or planning
- 2:04Speaker 2: your future?
- 2:07Speaker 1: What do you want to argue going with the flow? Oh?
- 2:09Speaker 2: Really, maybe we don't even need to flip the coin.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Okay, I want to argue with the future. You're already arguing.
- 2:16Speaker 2: All right, how about you can call in the air.
- 2:19Speaker 2: I call all of them, so.
- 2:19Speaker 1: This is going okay, okay, ready, yeah, are you flip it?
- 2:22Speaker 4: Then?
- 2:25Speaker 1: Heads hails never fails, baby, you get to choose.
- 2:30Speaker 2: So I am arguing planning your future. And this is
- 2:35Speaker 2: in reference to when you're dating or seeing someone. A
- 2:39Speaker 2: lot of men stereotypically.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Say, why do you have to think so far ahead?
- 2:43Speaker 4: Why?
- 2:44Speaker 2: God, we just go with the flow?
- 2:45Speaker 1: Oh? Fuck, what I want yours now? Yeah? Exactly. I
- 2:48Speaker 1: didn't know it was for this exactly, so fucking niche. Yeah, okay,
- 2:52Speaker 1: I can still go go with the flop. Where'd you
- 2:54Speaker 1: think it was for? I just just thought you meant
- 2:56Speaker 1: like a life in general, single or dating or like.
- 2:58Speaker 2: Throw whatever you want.
- 3:00Speaker 1: That's the niche. I was going, Okay, you're going to
- 3:02Speaker 1: start with you? Yeah, let me think here? Fuck it? Yeah,
- 3:05Speaker 1: you start, all right. It's hard to come up with
- 3:07Speaker 1: these on the spot, all right, Jake.
- 3:09Speaker 2: I have had another epiphany, yeah, recently, and I've been
- 3:14Speaker 2: thinking that when you get into the dating realm or
- 3:18Speaker 2: start to see new people and new people get introduced
- 3:20Speaker 2: into your life, having the already decided factor of what
- 3:25Speaker 2: you want your life to look like makes dating and
- 3:28Speaker 2: seeing someone else so much more easy.
- 3:33Speaker 1: Right, Okay, me personally, I'm just to go with the
- 3:37Speaker 1: float type of guy. How does that work? What does
- 3:39Speaker 1: that look like? Well? I am kind of like I
- 3:44Speaker 1: just am not a big planner. I'm more of like
- 3:47Speaker 1: I guess, like even when it comes down to just
- 3:49Speaker 1: like my day to day or like my dating life,
- 3:51Speaker 1: or even thinking about my future, whether it's with someone
- 3:53Speaker 1: or without someone, I kind of just like, instead of
- 3:59Speaker 1: looking at a bigger picture, I would prefer to just
- 4:03Speaker 1: like look at the next step and just trust that
- 4:06Speaker 1: I will get somewhere where I want to be because
- 4:09Speaker 1: I'm I mean, there's no right or wrong path, and
- 4:12Speaker 1: I believe I'm on the right path. So trying to
- 4:15Speaker 1: like steer myself in the right direction, I don't think
- 4:18Speaker 1: it's valid.
- 4:19Speaker 2: How does that work when you add someone else into
- 4:22Speaker 2: the equation?
- 4:24Speaker 1: I just have to deal with it, deal with the
- 4:26Speaker 1: way you are.
- 4:27Speaker 2: Well, I think, don't you think it's more healthy to
- 4:31Speaker 2: have pre planned what you want your future to look like?
- 4:34Speaker 2: And I'm talking in a sense of like how many
- 4:36Speaker 2: kids you want, where you want to live, or like
- 4:39Speaker 2: what sort of job you want to do, or where
- 4:40Speaker 2: you want to be in ten years. Yeah, don't you
- 4:43Speaker 2: think that helps? When you bring someone else and they
- 4:45Speaker 2: have their own ideas what they want their life to
- 4:47Speaker 2: look like.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Do you reckon?
- 4:48Speaker 2: That works better than going with the flow, because how
- 4:51Speaker 2: is she going to plan around you when you're just
- 4:53Speaker 2: you don't even know what you're going to eat for breakfast.
- 4:55Speaker 1: No, that's the beauty of it. Everything's exciting me. Yeah. Everything.
- 5:01Speaker 1: You don't know which way you turn. Well, look, I
- 5:05Speaker 1: think if I'm getting into a situation with someone and
- 5:10Speaker 1: they are a super planned out scheduled five year plan,
- 5:16Speaker 1: ten year plan, fifteen year plan. I want to be
- 5:18Speaker 1: married at this age. Kids, at this age. It's setting
- 5:22Speaker 1: yourself up for disappointment. Oh because what if those things
- 5:25Speaker 1: that happen.
- 5:26Speaker 2: What if it's driving you to reach it? And if
- 5:29Speaker 2: you get somewhat near there, that's better than you because
- 5:32Speaker 2: you have no goals at all. But I also don't
- 5:36Speaker 2: experience failure, So you're happy all the time.
- 5:39Speaker 1: It's a good life, mate, it's a good life. It's
- 5:41Speaker 1: a good life. To know what's going on around you.
- 5:45Speaker 1: I gotta say it's a good life. Do you reckon?
- 5:47Speaker 1: It's a selfish life and you're not ready to day
- 5:50Speaker 1: well selfish or not, it is my life, So I
- 5:56Speaker 1: think there's a good argument there that selfishness. Is it
- 5:59Speaker 1: selfish if it's for yourself? Well? Is that a contradictory question? No,
- 6:03Speaker 1: I think you're right there, is it selfish if it's
- 6:06Speaker 1: I'm happy? Not really, I wouldn't say it is. I
- 6:09Speaker 1: think it's just I would say that you're not ready
- 6:12Speaker 1: for someone else in your life.
- 6:13Speaker 2: If you have that mindset. I think it's good that
- 6:16Speaker 2: you're happy. Yeah, congratulations for that, appreciate that. I can
- 6:19Speaker 2: appreciate your mindset when you're in your independent, hot boy era.
- 6:24Speaker 2: But I think when you've got to add someone into
- 6:26Speaker 2: that equation, maybe you should find a little medium, happy
- 6:29Speaker 2: medium where you say like, oh, I want to have
- 6:31Speaker 2: kids one thirty, not like, ah, I don't know, I'll
- 6:34Speaker 2: see when I get to thirty.
- 6:35Speaker 1: I think, but are you saying that for like are
- 6:38Speaker 1: you saying that for you? Or are you saying that
- 6:40Speaker 1: for them? Like are you saying I'm saying it for us?
- 6:42Speaker 1: You're saying it for us? Yeah? Yeah, So, but so
- 6:45Speaker 1: you you also are like, oh, like, let's say this
- 6:47Speaker 1: person wasn't in your life, you would still be like, oh,
- 6:50Speaker 1: I want to have kids at thirty, or or just
- 6:52Speaker 1: the thought only come once you start to have a
- 6:54Speaker 1: relationship with someone.
- 6:56Speaker 2: I think it doesn't matter until you start to have
- 6:58Speaker 2: a relation to someone. Yeah, but once it does, you
- 7:00Speaker 2: need to have that mindset shift.
- 7:01Speaker 1: Okay, and why thirty, let's just meet personally. Yeah, you
- 7:04Speaker 1: can do. You can be fucking forty five if you want.
- 7:07Speaker 2: You never you never know, Like there's no right or
- 7:09Speaker 2: wrong answer into planning your future. Like you can live
- 7:12Speaker 2: in a shack, like in the middle of the bush
- 7:14Speaker 2: if you want it, But that's your future. I'm just
- 7:16Speaker 2: saying it can be. You just have to have that
- 7:17Speaker 2: pre planned. So if you imagine, you say I don't
- 7:20Speaker 2: want kids, I want to live a shack in the bush,
- 7:22Speaker 2: and she's like, oh, I'm not going to see you anymore,
- 7:24Speaker 2: but you're and deep.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Down I love you.
- 7:26Speaker 2: But I love you deep down you know that, and
- 7:29Speaker 2: she and then but you're just saying, oh, let's just
- 7:31Speaker 2: cover the float. And then by the time you get
- 7:33Speaker 2: to thirty and she's like, all right, let's set it down,
- 7:35Speaker 2: and she's looking near the beach and shit, You're like, well.
- 7:37Speaker 1: I want to live in the bush, but I love you. Yeah,
- 7:41Speaker 1: there's love con corool. Love does conquer all but I
- 7:43Speaker 1: don't think love conckers this because you're too completely love
- 7:47Speaker 1: for me, palms you would be with me, is that right?
- 7:51Speaker 1: If you got to deal with all your shit and
- 7:54Speaker 1: whether or not let's swamp. You don't know whether or
- 7:57Speaker 1: not you'll get pregnant tomorrow or at thirty. So if
- 8:03Speaker 1: you wanted a baby at thirty, or you wanted a
- 8:05Speaker 1: house at thirty five, whatever, if you had the money.
- 8:08Speaker 1: If you wanted a house at thirty five, but you
- 8:10Speaker 1: had the money at thirty, are you gonna wait till
- 8:11Speaker 1: thirty five? What do you mean? You're technically going with
- 8:15Speaker 1: the flow if you're doing at thirty. The other way,
- 8:17Speaker 1: you're technically going with the flow if you do. If
- 8:19Speaker 1: you're twenty five and you want a kid at thirty,
- 8:20Speaker 1: but you just sid I'm going to get your girlfriend
- 8:22Speaker 1: patn at twenty six and you have the kid, you're
- 8:23Speaker 1: technically going with the flow. Yeah, but I've still got
- 8:26Speaker 1: what I wanted, not on your schedule. This was not planned.
- 8:30Speaker 2: I don't think I can go with the flow with you.
- 8:32Speaker 2: I'm breaking up with you. I love you, I don't care,
- 8:38Speaker 2: I never ever, I don't care.
- 8:43Speaker 1: That's actually purely just like an opinion based argument, isn't
- 8:46Speaker 1: it Yeah?
- 8:47Speaker 2: Is there actually a wrong answer? I think I don't
- 8:49Speaker 2: think there's a wrong answer. I think it's a good
- 8:51Speaker 2: relatable fight slash argument because that many couples.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Have had that. I've had it with the compromise part. Yeah,
- 8:58Speaker 1: previous relationship pretended to agree with. I do agree with
- 9:02Speaker 1: where it's like if you are a girl with the
- 9:03Speaker 1: flow person, but you meet someone that's like, oh, you know,
- 9:06Speaker 1: I would like to have you know, kids At this point,
- 9:10Speaker 1: it's like, by all means have a have a time
- 9:13Speaker 1: where you want them, and I do. I think compromise
- 9:16Speaker 1: is fair.
- 9:16Speaker 2: Yeah, And I think if two people are coming together
- 9:19Speaker 2: and one is this go the flow type and one
- 9:21Speaker 2: is this organized planning, I think the best thing is
- 9:25Speaker 2: compromise in the middle, but have plans together. You can
- 9:27Speaker 2: still go the flow in your independent life and figure
- 9:30Speaker 2: out day by day, but with the relationship those sort
- 9:33Speaker 2: of goals together, house married, those sort of things yes
- 9:35Speaker 2: or no answers to those things and what's important, and
- 9:37Speaker 2: you should have those conversations.
- 9:39Speaker 1: Mate.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Maybe because the argument's over, I'm going to say I
- 9:41Speaker 2: want Okay, someone's got to win.
- 9:44Speaker 1: It was zero passion. I love you. There was zero passion.
- 9:48Speaker 2: I said, I break up with you, So I win
- 9:50Speaker 2: because I said those words first. The fuck But I
- 9:53Speaker 2: was going to say, maybe how I'm not agreeing with you?
- 9:57Speaker 2: Does it work well when there's someone with such a
- 9:59Speaker 2: strong mindset of I don't want to say you're easily compromised,
- 10:03Speaker 2: but you will.
- 10:04Speaker 1: What do you mean, I am, You're the most compromisable
- 10:07Speaker 1: person ever.
- 10:08Speaker 2: So if you have someone who's so planned and thinks
- 10:12Speaker 2: about the future as one and then there's you who's
- 10:15Speaker 2: go over the flow and easily compromised, your whole life
- 10:17Speaker 2: is just sort of molded around this one person.
- 10:19Speaker 1: That's a good point. Like I I feel like it's
- 10:22Speaker 1: still you are going with the flow. Yeah, you just
- 10:24Speaker 1: like go with her flow, Like what she's doing is
- 10:27Speaker 1: not flowing. But I'm so laid back and relaxed that
- 10:31Speaker 1: I'm like, oh yeah, I'm yeah, I'm keen to do that.
- 10:33Speaker 1: So technically it would work. Yeah, Like, oh I had
- 10:36Speaker 1: no plan. It's so like opposites are track. Yeah, It's
- 10:38Speaker 1: like that's like I'd love to have a kid by
- 10:40Speaker 1: twenty eight twenty nine, and I'm like, oh, I didn't
- 10:42Speaker 1: plan on it. Why not see what happens when we
- 10:45Speaker 1: get there? Like one point you go home and just
- 10:49Speaker 1: going to be like I'm pregnant. You're like full sweet, Okay,
- 10:52Speaker 1: I guess this. What am I gonna do? Time to
- 10:54Speaker 1: go to the flow? What am I going to do?
- 10:55Speaker 1: I'm gonna go the flow of this little kid. I
- 10:57Speaker 1: actually regret. It's a good point.
- 10:58Speaker 2: You're right, talk and cheese opposites a track? Yeah, two people.
- 11:01Speaker 2: Do you think opposites attract.
- 11:04Speaker 1: I kind of believe that, not always. You need to
- 11:06Speaker 1: be somewhat similar.
- 11:07Speaker 2: Yeah, I think so too. I used to think, like
- 11:09Speaker 2: when I was in school, like opposites attracting, like you're
- 11:11Speaker 2: the best parts of each other or something like that.
- 11:13Speaker 1: But I don't believe that. I think you have that have
- 11:14Speaker 1: a lot of common interest I think, yeah, I think
- 11:16Speaker 1: it's like you need to have a lot of common interests.
- 11:17Speaker 1: But Beth and I are very different in the way
- 11:19Speaker 1: if she does like to plan things and I don't.
- 11:22Speaker 1: But there is so many things we're similar in and
- 11:24Speaker 1: I think that those two things make it look like
- 11:26Speaker 1: we're opposite, but we're really not.
- 11:27Speaker 2: I think core values you're the same. Go of the
- 11:31Speaker 2: flow type mindset is like a little thing on the
- 11:33Speaker 2: outside of done exactly.
- 11:34Speaker 1: Yeah. Yah, Yeah, I don't know. I don't know if I
- 11:35Speaker 1: fully believe that, but I do. I think it makes
- 11:37Speaker 1: sense to us a point. Yeah, But so I wonder
- 11:39Speaker 1: what if two people that are okay first of all,
- 11:42Speaker 1: two people that were like me that would both go
- 11:43Speaker 1: with the flow, nothing will get done. Yeah, we would
- 11:45Speaker 1: have zero experience.
- 11:46Speaker 2: I just realized, who's in that relationship. You know exactly
- 11:50Speaker 2: what I'm talking about. We have a close friend and
- 11:52Speaker 2: they don't do anything.
- 11:53Speaker 1: They both very go with the flow. Yes, what's the
- 11:56Speaker 1: word nonchalant? Yes? What's the word? When you are they're
- 12:02Speaker 1: very indecisive? Yes, And so it's like a decision doesn't
- 12:05Speaker 1: get made. So it's like, eh, I'm way to describe it.
- 12:09Speaker 1: I'm the same, I'm indecisive. Like sometimes I'm decisive and
- 12:12Speaker 1: sometimes I'm indecisive. But if I'm indecisive, no decisions getting
- 12:16Speaker 1: like someone stay home, like unless someone makes the decision
- 12:19Speaker 1: for me. Yeah to me, fair, you and I on
- 12:21Speaker 1: a holiday go with the flow? Yeah we are we
- 12:23Speaker 1: fucking relaxed. Yeah, we do. Like not much gets done
- 12:27Speaker 1: and one of the one.
- 12:28Speaker 2: Of us will be like pizza and you're like sandwich.
- 12:30Speaker 1: Yeah, talk about easily. To be fair, though, I still
- 12:36Speaker 1: don't regret. I don't have any regrets not going to
- 12:38Speaker 1: a theme park in La oh neither. Yeah, so it works.
- 12:41Speaker 1: I've told people that, like, oh, you didn't go to
- 12:43Speaker 1: what was Which one was it?
- 12:44Speaker 2: I don't know Universal Universal Studios, And I was like, yeah,
- 12:47Speaker 2: I was tired. After we recorded like episodes and we're
- 12:49Speaker 2: doing work.
- 12:50Speaker 1: I was like, I didn't want to go. I was tired.
- 12:53Speaker 1: You didn't make the most of the situation. I was like,
- 12:54Speaker 1: I did. I relaxed. I made the most of the situation.
- 12:59Speaker 2: The most fun we had in La, I reckon was
- 13:01Speaker 2: when we went to the rooftop of our hotel and
- 13:04Speaker 2: ordered steaks.
- 13:07Speaker 1: They were good. We ordered. Everyone was doing so. We
- 13:10Speaker 1: were with this big group in la for a Spotify event.
- 13:13Speaker 1: It was a great event, and one of the highlights
- 13:15Speaker 1: was everyone was doing activities throughout the day and then
- 13:17Speaker 1: in the afternoon we would go to event with everyone.
- 13:19Speaker 1: Really good experience.
- 13:20Speaker 2: In one of the days, for lunch, everyone was going high.
- 13:22Speaker 1: It's gone to.
- 13:23Speaker 2: Universal and me and Check like, let's go to the
- 13:24Speaker 2: pool up there, and then someone came around with menus
- 13:27Speaker 2: and we saw steaks and we.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Were like, fuck it. They were like sixty bucks or
- 13:29Speaker 1: sixty USD or something, and we were like, we're on holiday,
- 13:32Speaker 1: fuck it. And we ordered these steaks. And my god,
- 13:35Speaker 1: was that one of the best stakes I ever had
- 13:36Speaker 1: in my life. Man. I actually I don't even know
- 13:38Speaker 1: if I couldn't recreate that. That was one of the
- 13:40Speaker 1: best steaks. I was like, as fucking white as our head.
- 13:42Speaker 1: It was like so thick, yeah, and it was delicious,
- 13:46Speaker 1: so tender, just the little things in life, the flavor,
- 13:49Speaker 1: and we just fully after that, I was so full. Yeah,
- 13:52Speaker 1: I had to go back to my room and just relax.
- 13:54Speaker 1: I just like went on my phone and just like
- 13:56Speaker 1: watched YouTube and ship for a while. Maybe Netflix on
- 13:58Speaker 1: my computer. I don't remember, but I don't know. I
- 14:01Speaker 1: think like I stand by it. The thing about some
- 14:04Speaker 1: people is so that was a short trip and you're
- 14:07Speaker 1: far away and there's lots to do. I'm the type
- 14:09Speaker 1: of person that fully accepts, oh, maybe there's ten things
- 14:14Speaker 1: that I would absolutely love to do in La right.
- 14:17Speaker 1: If I'm there for ten days, I know only five
- 14:19Speaker 1: of them will be getting done because the other days
- 14:22Speaker 1: I will prioritize chilling out. Yeah, whereas I don't think
- 14:25Speaker 1: it's the wrong way to do it. I think that's
- 14:27Speaker 1: a good way for me and you. I think you
- 14:29Speaker 1: like that, But I think some people are the opposite.
- 14:32Speaker 1: They're like, there's twenty things I want to do. I
- 14:35Speaker 1: have ten days, two things a day. Here we go,
- 14:37Speaker 1: bring it round circle two.
- 14:39Speaker 2: When you said at the start, you didn't realize we
- 14:41Speaker 2: were arguing about relationships. I think it's good to have
- 14:46Speaker 2: a planned mindset with your core values, the things that
- 14:49Speaker 2: really matter. But for us, going with the flow with
- 14:52Speaker 2: like their little minute details really works in our life. Yeah,
- 14:56Speaker 2: like we and I think that's a good takeaway for
- 14:58Speaker 2: a lot of men. So have the core of use
- 15:00Speaker 2: of like everything you wanted out of like your life,
- 15:02Speaker 2: like the big important shit ye, moneyhouse, family, dogs, whatever,
- 15:05Speaker 2: and then the little stuff steaks, gaming, YouTube, movies, what
- 15:09Speaker 2: you want to do and stuff.
- 15:11Speaker 1: Who cares?
- 15:12Speaker 2: But Jay, we sort of got into it a little
- 15:13Speaker 2: bed a little bit there, but I wanted to catch
- 15:15Speaker 2: up with you, especially because it was your birthday weekend.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Yeah, buddy, twenty five, we said, twenty four entury.
- 15:24Speaker 2: What's funny because the clip we put out and I
- 15:27Speaker 2: put on my story that you were turning thirty that
- 15:30Speaker 2: many people swiped up and said, I thought it was
- 15:33Speaker 2: like twenty two, twenty three, and I was like, oh, nah,
- 15:36Speaker 2: man's getting on eight.
- 15:38Speaker 1: I got like ten people doing I just went with
- 15:40Speaker 1: the days everything. You're thirty. I did that to you,
- 15:42Speaker 1: but I said thirty two. Yeah, people fully thought I had.
- 15:46Speaker 1: So there was a few people that say, I remember
- 15:48Speaker 1: your birthday when you turned twenty four. People said, what,
- 15:50Speaker 1: he's thirty two. But some people were like, just just
- 15:55Speaker 1: shop said happy birthdays because I'm so wise. Yeah, that's
- 15:58Speaker 1: definitely why he What we should do, which would be
- 16:01Speaker 1: so funny, is like, because people obviously don't know that
- 16:04Speaker 1: much about us, we should just chuck a random like
- 16:06Speaker 1: middle of or the end of the year, because none
- 16:08Speaker 1: of our birthdays are their happy birthday to each other,
- 16:10Speaker 1: and see what people like jump on the bandwagon. No,
- 16:12Speaker 1: they will, they will, That's fuck, that's crazy.
- 16:17Speaker 2: We'll see who your real ones are, and let's see
- 16:19Speaker 2: if we can flush out any acquaintances who actually know
- 16:21Speaker 2: in person and see if anyone jumps on the band.
- 16:24Speaker 1: Rag actually to the listeners. Yeah, just like in the
- 16:27Speaker 1: in a group chat with our friends.
- 16:29Speaker 2: I can do it as a post and on Instagram
- 16:31Speaker 2: and catch the red handed. Oh that's a segment and like,
- 16:33Speaker 2: listeners will get involved, but that's obviously not bad because
- 16:35Speaker 2: they don't know.
- 16:36Speaker 1: In a couple of months, I'll do it for you. Yeah,
- 16:37Speaker 1: my birthday's gone. Yeah, in a couple of months, I'll
- 16:39Speaker 1: do a photo happy birthday. Wouldn't best co host ever?
- 16:42Speaker 1: Like whatever, say all this nice shit, right, and then
- 16:46Speaker 1: it's all just like this big hoax. And to be fair,
- 16:48Speaker 1: a lot of listeners and stuff, they will fall for
- 16:51Speaker 1: it and they're allowed to for for it. There's people
- 16:52Speaker 1: that are not allowed.
- 16:53Speaker 2: For Yeah, and see which one of my real mates are.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Hey, well fucking see who messages?
- 16:57Speaker 2: Because I reckon that many people rely on that Facebook
- 17:00Speaker 2: shit and then snapchat.
- 17:01Speaker 1: Now the segment can be is you just say thanks
- 17:04Speaker 1: to them if they message you. Okay, segment is we
- 17:08Speaker 1: call those motherfuckers week. Wait, that's a great idea. I
- 17:13Speaker 1: got a couple months time, guys, stick around. Yeah, but
- 17:17Speaker 1: how is your birthday? You went up to Queen's Land.
- 17:18Speaker 1: You had a good time. Drove up the day, drove
- 17:21Speaker 1: up the day before my birthday. We left at three pm.
- 17:23Speaker 1: Didn't get there until twelve thirty mid like midnight? Why
- 17:29Speaker 1: was fall at us? Sleep at the wheel? Wait nine until?
- 17:32Speaker 1: Is that nine hours? It is? So? It is?
- 17:35Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 17:36Speaker 1: Yeah, nine hours? Fuck you're there at twelve? Yeah?
- 17:39Speaker 2: Was there heaps of traffic because it was a long weekend.
- 17:40Speaker 1: There was no traffic. It just took agent. What the fuck?
- 17:43Speaker 1: I know? You just went the wrong way, mate, We
- 17:45Speaker 1: just fucking we actually did do a little misturn. Yeah
- 17:47Speaker 1: at one, you're always chatting. It was fun. What do
- 17:50Speaker 1: you get for your birthday? My parents gave me money.
- 17:54Speaker 1: I'm gonna buy some golf clubs.
- 17:56Speaker 2: How you actually yeah, definitely you're you're in the back
- 17:59Speaker 2: ends of your I am starting thirty early.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Yeah, that's what I've decided. I get advice, some golf clubs.
- 18:05Speaker 1: But then what Beth got me? She got me a okay,
- 18:10Speaker 1: do you know what a concord is. It's a type
- 18:12Speaker 1: of plane. Oh is that the lego thing? It's this
- 18:15Speaker 1: fucking big ass box, right, and it's a concord aeroplane.
- 18:19Speaker 1: That's a baddie's Facebook baddies you know. Yeah, I saw that, mate.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Those things are expensive. It was five hundred dollars. Yeah,
- 18:27Speaker 1: they're expensive. I was like, you shouldn't have spent that
- 18:29Speaker 1: on me. Rude. Now you look excited. I saw the video.
- 18:31Speaker 1: I was chuffed. I'm can't wait to start building it.
- 18:33Speaker 2: Yeah, if you're not in Facebook baddie relatables, baddies, you know,
- 18:37Speaker 2: yeah on Facebook that we posted a video of that,
- 18:39Speaker 2: and you look like you were sucking a dick when
- 18:40Speaker 2: you were that excited.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Mate, I was fucking I couldn't believe it. I didn't.
- 18:44Speaker 1: I had no idea that she even like got me
- 18:46Speaker 1: a present because I said to her, because Christmas had
- 18:48Speaker 1: just gone and she got me a good Christmas present,
- 18:52Speaker 1: and I said for my birthday, I would prefer it
- 18:54Speaker 1: if it was just like you took me on a
- 18:56Speaker 1: day out shit that I like to do and we
- 18:58Speaker 1: just went with the flow. Yeah, it's like a little
- 18:59Speaker 1: kit and so she said, yeah, sweet. I was like,
- 19:02Speaker 1: I was just like yeah, because you know, like trying
- 19:04Speaker 1: to save money and stuff. And then she went and
- 19:06Speaker 1: bought me this motherfucking thing. Yeah, very cool, very cool,
- 19:08Speaker 1: but it was a sick gift. I'm so excited. But
- 19:10Speaker 1: eighteen plus lego crazy, that's.
- 19:12Speaker 2: Mad man, what I wanted to talk about, because you
- 19:14Speaker 2: were just in Queensland it sort of makes sense of
- 19:16Speaker 2: what we're just talking about. Yeah, going with the flow
- 19:20Speaker 2: sort of is what we do with the podcast a
- 19:22Speaker 2: little bit, Yeah, or planning our future and what I've
- 19:25Speaker 2: been feeling a little bit recently, but also I don't
- 19:28Speaker 2: know how to feel at the moment. Is out growing
- 19:32Speaker 2: where we've grown up?
- 19:33Speaker 1: Yep, I want to argue with that. Mate.
- 19:35Speaker 2: I went to like our local shopping center, like the
- 19:38Speaker 2: big place where all the big shops are.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Yeah as a feather, Yeah, as a feather an affair,
- 19:44Speaker 1: and I was just walking around. I know, I go
- 19:46Speaker 1: there in the middle of the day because we record
- 19:47Speaker 1: it whatever how we want, and I was.
- 19:49Speaker 2: Just I don't know, there's something about it. I couldn't
- 19:51Speaker 2: explain the feeling. But I was looking at the people
- 19:53Speaker 2: and they're all old because where we live is from
- 19:55Speaker 2: like a very retirement based a lot living of over
- 19:58Speaker 2: fifties living. Yeah, and they're all like moving in slow motion,
- 20:01Speaker 2: which is each their own. I'm not judging them, but
- 20:03Speaker 2: I was thinking, like, is this where I want to be?
- 20:05Speaker 2: And I couldn't describe the sensation that what I was feeling,
- 20:08Speaker 2: but I was like, am I looking for more? Is
- 20:10Speaker 2: this what I want? And me and Jake have been
- 20:12Speaker 2: talking in the background. Jake messaged me and said he
- 20:14Speaker 2: wanted to talk about it in the background, Like fuck it,
- 20:16Speaker 2: let's talk about it on the pot. I feel like
- 20:17Speaker 2: it's relatable, yeah, And it's like we're thinking about moving
- 20:21Speaker 2: to a new place which is potentially more motivating and
- 20:24Speaker 2: makes more sense.
- 20:25Speaker 1: For our lives. But it's scary.
- 20:27Speaker 2: It's so scary because it's good for you now because
- 20:28Speaker 2: your parents just moved to Queensland, but it's leaving my
- 20:32Speaker 2: parents but also where we grew up and our friends,
- 20:34Speaker 2: and I know everyone does that, but it's still so scary.
- 20:36Speaker 1: It is. It is scary, but it's funny. So I
- 20:41Speaker 1: was talking on the way home. We drove home yesterday
- 20:44Speaker 1: and on the way home, Joanna and Beth both we're
- 20:49Speaker 1: talking about it and like talking about how they were
- 20:52Speaker 1: getting pretty keen, and then they both said they were like, oh,
- 20:57Speaker 1: like would Audio, because I've told Beth that you would
- 21:00Speaker 1: you would be keen to move to Queensland at some point, like,
- 21:02Speaker 1: I guess it's pretty You're right, go with the flow,
- 21:04Speaker 1: like all of this is just kind of like at
- 21:06Speaker 1: some point, and Beth was like, oh, I do you
- 21:08Speaker 1: reckon Oddie would be ready, and I was like, all
- 21:09Speaker 1: I did was ask him and see if he is.
- 21:11Speaker 1: You know, it is a big move. But I was
- 21:14Speaker 1: talking to my cousin. He's like thirty seven right, his
- 21:17Speaker 1: two kids, And it was on my birthday. We're having
- 21:22Speaker 1: a barbecue because him, my dad, and myself just out
- 21:25Speaker 1: at the barbecue doing bro stuff, just cooking meat. And
- 21:29Speaker 1: he was talking about he lives in Grafton, which is
- 21:30Speaker 1: about three and a half hours south of the Gold Coast,
- 21:32Speaker 1: but he loves the Gold Coast. He lived there for
- 21:34Speaker 1: ten years blah blah blah. And he was talking about
- 21:37Speaker 1: how he always looks at jobs on the Gold Coast
- 21:40Speaker 1: blah blah blah, he'd move there. Hopefully he'll move there soon.
- 21:44Speaker 1: And I was like, oh, if a job came out tomorrow,
- 21:46Speaker 1: Like would you move tomorrow? He said nah, And I
- 21:48Speaker 1: said why And he had a good reason. They've moved
- 21:51Speaker 1: around a lot for his work. His missus has just
- 21:53Speaker 1: gotten into a career she really wants and she just
- 21:55Speaker 1: got a good job. He's like, this wouldn't be fair
- 21:57Speaker 1: to move again for me. The girls are about to
- 21:59Speaker 1: start school. That's his twins, and my miss is about
- 22:02Speaker 1: to start her career. So I was like, I want
- 22:03Speaker 1: to give her at least five years. I said, fair
- 22:05Speaker 1: enough healthy And then he said, would I ever moved
- 22:07Speaker 1: to the Gold Coast? And I was like, yeah, actually
- 22:10Speaker 1: I wouldn't. He goes, oh yeah, And I was like
- 22:12Speaker 1: he's like when and I was like, ah, he's like would,
- 22:14Speaker 1: He asked. He's like, would Audie be keen? I said yeah, yeah,
- 22:16Speaker 1: he's keen. And so we've talked about it and he said,
- 22:21Speaker 1: well when he said no, a year in a bit,
- 22:24Speaker 1: it's always going to be a year and a bit.
- 22:26Speaker 1: True always, because we have been saying that. I know
- 22:28Speaker 1: he's like, in a year and a bit, it's going
- 22:31Speaker 1: to be another year in a bit. And then I
- 22:34Speaker 1: told him this our whole like business plan thing that
- 22:38Speaker 1: we have that we really want to do, and my
- 22:40Speaker 1: dad was listening in and he was listening and I
- 22:43Speaker 1: told him both this. I just like went on this
- 22:45Speaker 1: whole rant about what we want to do. And they
- 22:47Speaker 1: were like, fuck, that sounds hectic. That sounds so good.
- 22:53Speaker 1: They were like, this is the place for ship. Yeah,
- 22:59Speaker 1: I don't know. We've said we've spoken about it, but
- 23:01Speaker 1: like if we speak about it in depth, on here.
- 23:03Speaker 1: That's speaking it into existence and we have to do
- 23:05Speaker 1: something about it.
- 23:06Speaker 2: Yeah, we are much like about talking about on here.
- 23:09Speaker 1: That means we have to do it. I told him
- 23:11Speaker 1: about this whole idea we have and they were just
- 23:14Speaker 1: like fuck yeah, So I guess what's I said, funds.
- 23:20Speaker 2: You know, and then what's what's our thing is bad?
- 23:22Speaker 1: So I said, the biggest one will be the two
- 23:26Speaker 1: big ones will be coordinate, coordinating everyone, you know, because
- 23:30Speaker 1: you Cassie, Beth, myself.
- 23:32Speaker 2: It's hard because we're like a married coupleen we have
- 23:35Speaker 2: our marriage.
- 23:36Speaker 1: Yeah couple, so they're tied to us. So Beth is
- 23:40Speaker 1: tied to you even though she's not because she's tied
- 23:42Speaker 1: to me exactly. But so I said, the biggest one
- 23:46Speaker 1: is coordinating everything and funds. Yes, money, so the money,
- 23:50Speaker 1: which sucks, but you know, Dad was like, fuck, money's
- 23:55Speaker 1: always going to be an issue. Just to go take
- 23:56Speaker 1: the risk, Like fuck, Okay, your dad's always had a
- 24:00Speaker 1: ball of mindset. But I know he always has had
- 24:02Speaker 1: this ball of mindset and it all worked out for
- 24:04Speaker 1: it has just been so like he's had times where
- 24:06Speaker 1: were super poor and just fine with it. Well, our
- 24:08Speaker 1: biggest dilemma is the move's easy whatever finding a place.
- 24:11Speaker 1: I guess it's like, would you and I have separate
- 24:13Speaker 1: places and then also rent a studio which we get
- 24:16Speaker 1: double rent, which is a lot, or would we get
- 24:19Speaker 1: like a fucking beast house then split the rent between
- 24:21Speaker 1: four of us and then we also have a studio
- 24:23Speaker 1: and then we pay rent extra rent for the studio
- 24:25Speaker 1: and we like make a portable studio. It's all, Yeah,
- 24:28Speaker 1: it's fuck in. I feel like that could be a
- 24:29Speaker 1: cheaper option.
- 24:30Speaker 2: Or do we do the do we move there and
- 24:32Speaker 2: then start the business after we've already moved and then
- 24:34Speaker 2: we've got all the fucking moving parts ready.
- 24:36Speaker 1: It's fucking there's so much to think about, but it
- 24:38Speaker 1: would just be I feel like you can't go wrong
- 24:40Speaker 1: being there. I have my cousin. You're gonna love what
- 24:44Speaker 1: he said. He was like, the best way to do
- 24:46Speaker 1: it get in the airbnb for two months. Yeah, I
- 24:48Speaker 1: was like, you will not. He speak the same language.
- 24:50Speaker 1: He said that a multiple times. To get an airbnb
- 24:53Speaker 1: for two months, hire a podcast studio, go up there
- 24:56Speaker 1: and just live in it and be on the Gold Coast. Yeah,
- 24:58Speaker 1: like as if you live and see if you like it,
- 25:01Speaker 1: but it's also like, I know we're gonna like it.
- 25:04Speaker 1: I know.
- 25:04Speaker 2: So here's also my personal dilemmas, which I think I
- 25:07Speaker 2: can overcome, but I think it's a bit scary and
- 25:09Speaker 2: it will force me to grow. Like half of my
- 25:12Speaker 2: personality is like that business grind mindset and you've got
- 25:16Speaker 2: to be in the hustle and bustle. But then the
- 25:17Speaker 2: other half of my personality is like I like to
- 25:20Speaker 2: be a mute. I like not seeing anyone. I like
- 25:23Speaker 2: going on the beach and getting a park and no
- 25:24Speaker 2: one being there. And I definitely know Queensland and the
- 25:27Speaker 2: Gold Coast is way better than Sydney, and I think
- 25:29Speaker 2: I'll find it. Yeah, I'll find my pace there. But
- 25:32Speaker 2: also I do want to somehow hold my mute independent,
- 25:36Speaker 2: Like I like nature and put on National Park, like
- 25:39Speaker 2: the National Park where no one is Like, but I
- 25:41Speaker 2: think I'd need to grow and go somewhere else first
- 25:44Speaker 2: and do that for a couple of years. And I'm like,
- 25:46Speaker 2: you know what, I've talked to a lot of people
- 25:47Speaker 2: and like, I think we've got to do this and grow.
- 25:49Speaker 2: But also once we do that, I think we'll also
- 25:51Speaker 2: appreciate this place so much more.
- 25:54Speaker 1: Yeah, we're right. Yeah, my parents are loving it up there.
- 25:57Speaker 1: A couple of things I'll say about those two things,
- 25:59Speaker 1: even you said you can have come. When I was
- 26:02Speaker 1: just up there, I made the conscious decision. I was like, Okay,
- 26:07Speaker 1: if I ever move here, I will be getting a
- 26:10Speaker 1: place that is far enough away where I don't have
- 26:14Speaker 1: to be able to walk to the beach, but I
- 26:17Speaker 1: will It needs to be a bike ride to the beach.
- 26:19Speaker 1: But that's not even because of like how close I
- 26:21Speaker 1: wanted to be to the beach. I would be a
- 26:23Speaker 1: driving distance from the beach. I don't care. But it's
- 26:26Speaker 1: the parking situation that was a bit tricky. So basically
- 26:30Speaker 1: I think the best way to overcome that is make
- 26:33Speaker 1: it so you can just ride a bike to the beach,
- 26:34Speaker 1: because then you don't even have to worry about a part.
- 26:36Speaker 2: Well, we could get scooters potentially able to figure out
- 26:38Speaker 2: that it is no I need to look into that.
- 26:40Speaker 1: He didn't have a fucking my cousin said he'd have
- 26:41Speaker 1: a scootered, but he didn't have one. Yeah, and then the nature.
- 26:45Speaker 1: All you gotta do is go west twenty minutes and
- 26:47Speaker 1: there's nature, true, and there's like all new like good
- 26:50Speaker 1: camping spots.
- 26:51Speaker 2: Yeah, it's just so scary, man, It's so scared. But
- 26:53Speaker 2: also I want to do it so much. And then
- 26:55Speaker 2: it's also a lot of money. And then like we
- 26:56Speaker 2: save money living here, but I feel like that's a
- 26:58Speaker 2: cop out that my brain's is a good point, Like,
- 27:01Speaker 2: and then do we just like make a plan, like
- 27:03Speaker 2: we say, like January first, next year we want to
- 27:04Speaker 2: be there or something, and then we plan around it
- 27:06Speaker 2: or something like that.
- 27:07Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 27:08Speaker 2: It's such a tough, tricky dilemma, which I think is relatable. Yeah, No,
- 27:11Speaker 2: it's it's a good problem to have, so anyone out
- 27:13Speaker 2: there who's done it, because I think so many people
- 27:15Speaker 2: have had this exact dilemma, Like what made you make
- 27:19Speaker 2: that leap of faith?
- 27:20Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a good question. I think it's a good
- 27:21Speaker 1: problem to have.
- 27:22Speaker 2: Though, Well, it's a great problem to have because I
- 27:23Speaker 2: know a lot of people don't have the luxury of
- 27:25Speaker 2: our job being so mobile, which is really good. And
- 27:29Speaker 2: we do make somewhat enough money to have these decisions,
- 27:32Speaker 2: which is really grateful.
- 27:33Speaker 1: I think like the best probably like the best thing
- 27:36Speaker 1: we could do. Right, I was looking at rentals. It's
- 27:38Speaker 1: a little cheaper than Sydney kind of like here, yeah,
- 27:42Speaker 1: or like you'll get something decent for like six fifty, right,
- 27:45Speaker 1: But do you buy a commercial piece of something you
- 27:53Speaker 1: and do our plan? You put our studio in there,
- 27:55Speaker 1: and then you build another one that you rent out
- 27:57Speaker 1: and teach people how to podcast. All people that know
- 28:00Speaker 1: how to podcast already, great, come, we know how to produce.
- 28:03Speaker 1: We teach someone to produce, and then like good d
- 28:07Speaker 1: and then it's like you would start off slow, but
- 28:09Speaker 1: then like you would probably just be scathing by for
- 28:12Speaker 1: a while. Once it gets a bit more known that
- 28:14Speaker 1: there's a fucking new podcast studio that knows how to
- 28:16Speaker 1: do it properly, these boys, people are going to start
- 28:18Speaker 1: hiring it out. You build one more. You've got two
- 28:20Speaker 1: always hired out, and we have hours that we keep
- 28:23Speaker 1: as ours and you have a little cafe, sell merch.
- 28:27Speaker 1: And then the other dilemma two living together do you reckon?
- 28:30Speaker 1: Because we've lived together in the past, and we would
- 28:33Speaker 1: personally think we should live separately.
- 28:34Speaker 2: That's what I was going to say, because like we
- 28:36Speaker 2: all often have the thing like don't say that, don't
- 28:38Speaker 2: talk to me, yeah exactly, yeah, yeah, yeah, I personally
- 28:41Speaker 2: think we should live separate. That's that's more money to
- 28:43Speaker 2: get true. But I don't know if we want the
- 28:46Speaker 2: girls to like live together as well as forcing them to. Yeah,
- 28:49Speaker 2: you know, they'd probably get along, but they'd be fine.
- 28:51Speaker 2: But still it's good. Yeah, you just want to have
- 28:52Speaker 2: your own space. But very very tricky and relatable.
- 28:57Speaker 1: It is relatable. So anyone that's moved it stinds to
- 29:00Speaker 1: a new city. Let's look into all those options and
- 29:03Speaker 1: maybe in a month or so we'll come back with
- 29:06Speaker 1: a little bit more of a plan. Yeah, no, I
- 29:08Speaker 1: like that, Jake.
- 29:14Speaker 2: Do you know what one thing is I love about
- 29:17Speaker 2: the relatables? What's that is that we are here, there
- 29:21Speaker 2: and everywhere. Ah, we're deep yep, maybe a little bit intellectual,
- 29:26Speaker 2: maybe can be courtesy with me. And then we also
- 29:29Speaker 2: like to throw a curveball, have some fun. Yes, that's
- 29:32Speaker 2: what we're doing in this next segment. Confession sessions are
- 29:36Speaker 2: making a return for twenty twenty five. Baby, what's the
- 29:39Speaker 2: prop Jake?
- 29:40Speaker 1: When you gotta go, you gotta go as always, as always,
- 29:43Speaker 1: we've got to start the year with a bang of
- 29:45Speaker 1: these confession sessions and we have two lovely calls. Yes,
- 29:48Speaker 1: So let's get straight into it.
- 29:51Speaker 3: Hello.
- 29:52Speaker 2: Hello, welcome to confession session.
- 29:55Speaker 1: How are you going?
- 29:56Speaker 3: I'm great?
- 29:57Speaker 1: How are you?
- 29:57Speaker 2: I am going great? I am joined by Jake. Hello,
- 30:01Speaker 2: thanks for coming on. We're excited to hear your story.
- 30:07Speaker 3: That's the most excited I've ever read about anything in
- 30:09Speaker 3: my whole mind.
- 30:10Speaker 1: Let's go. That's good, that's good, let's go.
- 30:12Speaker 2: So first things first is would you like to be anonymous?
- 30:17Speaker 1: No, it's all right, so we can use your name. Hello,
- 30:19Speaker 1: Hadn very nice to meet you. Is that short for Hannah?
- 30:22Speaker 3: Yeah? Yeah, Tannahs. But my friends call me hands either,
- 30:26Speaker 3: you know.
- 30:26Speaker 1: Yeah, we love Australians love a good nickname, so I'll
- 30:28Speaker 1: stick with Hands. Where are you calling from.
- 30:31Speaker 3: I'm in Salem, Oregon, actually in the United States?
- 30:35Speaker 2: Oh nice, long way, long way away.
- 30:39Speaker 1: I don't know. We've spent some time in the States
- 30:41Speaker 1: for about about ten days in LA.
- 30:44Speaker 2: Could call us locals, could call us locals. But you
- 30:47Speaker 2: have a story. When you got to go, you got
- 30:50Speaker 2: to go. And when I say don't leave out any details,
- 30:54Speaker 2: maybe do if you want, but.
- 30:56Speaker 1: It's up to you.
- 30:57Speaker 2: Take it from the top and we'll interact.
- 31:00Speaker 3: Awesome, Okay, So for I'm nineteen now, so this is
- 31:05Speaker 3: about three years ago when I was like sixteen and
- 31:08Speaker 3: I was house sitting for my best friends when a
- 31:12Speaker 3: friend of mine who had like moved away a few
- 31:15Speaker 3: years earlier, told me that he was going to be
- 31:17Speaker 3: in town and wanted to schedule a time to hang out.
- 31:21Speaker 3: And so not like that, no guys, just friends. We
- 31:31Speaker 3: weren't best friends or anything. I literally got to anyway,
- 31:36Speaker 3: And so we scheduled the time to hang out with
- 31:39Speaker 3: another one of our friends, who also happened to be
- 31:41Speaker 3: a guy cool. And they came to the house that
- 31:45Speaker 3: I was staying at and we decided to go get
- 31:48Speaker 3: some drinks and like coffee or boba, I don't remember
- 31:51Speaker 3: what it was, but and then go to an arcade
- 31:54Speaker 3: because they're boys like boys things. And I was like, yeah, whatever,
- 31:57Speaker 3: I'm just here for the ride. And I I had
- 32:00Speaker 3: just gotten my license and I really wanted to drive
- 32:04Speaker 3: because I love my car, and and so I ended
- 32:09Speaker 3: up driving all three of us to coffee and then
- 32:12Speaker 3: the arcade, and I decided it was a brilliant idea
- 32:16Speaker 3: to get a large drink because I am a drink girly.
- 32:19Speaker 1: What happened? Everything's checking out here?
- 32:26Speaker 3: Yeah, And so we go into the arcade and we're
- 32:30Speaker 3: hanging out for a bit, punning around, playing a few
- 32:33Speaker 3: different games, and then we spotted the Laser Tag a
- 32:37Speaker 3: rita and we had to play because laser tag is
- 32:41Speaker 3: just the best thing known to man.
- 32:43Speaker 2: I suck it until I was like twelve.
- 32:47Speaker 1: I suck at it, but go on.
- 32:50Speaker 3: That's totally okay. I love laser Tag and I also
- 32:53Speaker 3: had it played since I was like twelve, and I
- 32:55Speaker 3: was like, we have to, so we did, and so
- 32:58Speaker 3: we were a few rounded and we were just having
- 33:01Speaker 3: a black It was so cheap there. So we played
- 33:04Speaker 3: like five rounds and at the beginning of like the
- 33:09Speaker 3: last round, I started to kind of have to pee
- 33:11Speaker 3: a little bit. That was like, no, it's totally fine,
- 33:15Speaker 3: Like we're about to start. I don't want to make
- 33:16Speaker 3: them wait. I can hold it. And so we go
- 33:21Speaker 3: in and everything's going great and we're having fun. We're
- 33:24Speaker 3: running around, and then I really have to pee, and
- 33:28Speaker 3: so at this point I'm split up from my friends
- 33:32Speaker 3: and I'm sprinting around the arena trying not to pee
- 33:37Speaker 3: myself and looking for the staff member to let me
- 33:40Speaker 3: out because he said to find him if we needed anything,
- 33:43Speaker 3: and I lobviously, well I thought so and so, like
- 33:49Speaker 3: I obviously needed something, and so I was like sprinting
- 33:53Speaker 3: around trying to find him. But then eventually I could
- 33:56Speaker 3: run no longer, and I was waddling around, like clenching
- 34:01Speaker 3: my legs together, trying so hard not to peek. Yeah. No,
- 34:08Speaker 3: there were little tiny like ten year olds like shooting me,
- 34:15Speaker 3: I know, and like I like, how oh. I yelled
- 34:20Speaker 3: so many things at those kids that day, but it
- 34:22Speaker 3: was like I was like, no, I think I pushed
- 34:25Speaker 3: one of them out of the way, like I was.
- 34:28Speaker 3: I was not having it. And so eventually I can't
- 34:32Speaker 3: find this guy, and I feel it like it's about
- 34:35Speaker 3: to come and I'm like, this is not happening. I'm
- 34:38Speaker 3: sixteen years old. Hold it in, and I just sprint
- 34:43Speaker 3: to the exit and with all of my strength like
- 34:47Speaker 3: trying to bust down that door. And that's when like
- 34:51Speaker 3: it just started to come out of me. And I
- 34:53Speaker 3: got through the door, and like he is just streaming
- 34:57Speaker 3: down my legs and it's literally everywhere I'm in, like
- 35:03Speaker 3: the room where they give you your vests and your guns,
- 35:06Speaker 3: and there's a puddle at my feet and so and
- 35:11Speaker 3: so I throw off the vest in the gun. It
- 35:14Speaker 3: was probably on the floor or something, not even where
- 35:16Speaker 3: it was supposed to go. And I'm like, this is
- 35:19Speaker 3: not happening. And I sprint to the bathroom and I
- 35:24Speaker 3: said down, and I let out everything I have left,
- 35:27Speaker 3: which is not much like when I'm saying I seen myself.
- 35:30Speaker 3: I peed myself and my shoes, my sucks, my eyes
- 35:36Speaker 3: in shorts, like everything is soaked and like drenched. When
- 35:40Speaker 3: I walked, They're squeaking noises like, oh who it was?
- 35:45Speaker 3: It was really bad. And so I start panicking because
- 35:49Speaker 3: I'm like, what am I going to tell my friends?
- 35:51Speaker 3: I can't tell them that I just peed myself, especially
- 35:54Speaker 3: because like they're my guy friends and we're not that close,
- 35:56Speaker 3: like they're just like friends that I knew from school,
- 36:00Speaker 3: like we were good enough friends like hang out, you know.
- 36:02Speaker 3: And so I was like I kept tell them I
- 36:03Speaker 3: just feed myself. And so I texted them. I was like, hey,
- 36:09Speaker 3: I just threw up in the bathroom and I'm really
- 36:13Speaker 3: sick and like I need to leave. And they were like,
- 36:16Speaker 3: oh my gosh, are you okay? And I was like yeah, bro,
- 36:19Speaker 3: like I'm fine, let's just go. And so they were
- 36:22Speaker 3: finished up around and I like dried myself off and
- 36:25Speaker 3: everything as much as I could, which was no use
- 36:27Speaker 3: because like I said, I was literally soaking wet. Yeah,
- 36:30Speaker 3: and I basically when they say they're ready to go,
- 36:34Speaker 3: I basically ran out of there because I was scared
- 36:37Speaker 3: a staff member had seen me or something and like
- 36:40Speaker 3: was going to stop me. And it's definitely on camera somewhere.
- 36:45Speaker 1: You didn't even like you didn't go get a stuff
- 36:47Speaker 1: everyone and be like I'm sorry, sorry, I actually just
- 36:50Speaker 1: went myself. No.
- 36:54Speaker 3: No, there was a huge puddle in like the waiting
- 36:56Speaker 3: area and I left it because I was not about
- 36:59Speaker 3: to go confess to that because that's the worst thing ever.
- 37:02Speaker 2: That's what did your friends say when? Because was there
- 37:05Speaker 2: like any they had to know? Did they say your pants?
- 37:07Speaker 2: We was so pants?
- 37:09Speaker 3: B you guys, I'm not even good. Just wait, but
- 37:14Speaker 3: it's nothing like anyway. Okay, So we get to the
- 37:18Speaker 3: car and I had a blanket in the back seat
- 37:21Speaker 3: because I drove them, and so I wrapped myself in
- 37:24Speaker 3: the blanket and I go if and they're like they're
- 37:29Speaker 3: giving me RealD looks, and I was like, well, it's
- 37:31Speaker 3: in case I throw up, Like I'll throw up on
- 37:33Speaker 3: the blanket and not on myself for like my car,
- 37:35Speaker 3: and they're like, yeah, okay, do you want me to drive?
- 37:37Speaker 3: And I was like no, we like it's fine because
- 37:40Speaker 3: it was because I got like I had just gotten
- 37:43Speaker 3: this new car like I was sixteen. I was not
- 37:46Speaker 3: letting anybody else drive my cars anyway. And so we
- 37:50Speaker 3: get back to the house and I wait for them
- 37:53Speaker 3: to get out of the car just in case, and
- 37:56Speaker 3: thank goodness I did because when I got out, I
- 37:58Speaker 3: have cloth seats, massive wet puddle where my bubble is
- 38:03Speaker 3: absolutely soaked through even the blanket, like massive wet puddle
- 38:07Speaker 3: like underneath me. And I was like, if they saw that,
- 38:11Speaker 3: I'm done for anyway. And so we get out of
- 38:15Speaker 3: the car and they're saying by and of course my
- 38:19Speaker 3: friend from out of town wants a hug because he's like,
- 38:23Speaker 3: he doesn't know when we're going to see each other again,
- 38:26Speaker 3: and so I give him a hug, and I was.
- 38:28Speaker 1: Like, please, don't feel weekly.
- 38:29Speaker 3: Don't feel me, you know, like, and it's been three
- 38:33Speaker 3: years and they've never said a word.
- 38:36Speaker 1: You haven't spoken to them since.
- 38:39Speaker 3: I have not spoken to them about that day since.
- 38:42Speaker 3: And I bet you they know because I bet you
- 38:45Speaker 3: they saw my pea puddle in the arena and they
- 38:48Speaker 3: just never said anything to me embarrassing and and.
- 38:53Speaker 1: I just yeah, so basically you messaged them saying you're
- 38:58Speaker 1: sick and you're like vomiting, but yeah, I left. You're
- 39:02Speaker 1: the only one that's left. And there was a massive
- 39:04Speaker 1: pea puddle and the and your vestity grand so we're
- 39:07Speaker 1: like tall you. What I would have done.
- 39:09Speaker 2: I would have said like something like those little kids
- 39:11Speaker 2: are so annoying. One of them came into a water
- 39:13Speaker 2: pistol and went him and their mom like got super
- 39:15Speaker 2: angry and dragged her.
- 39:17Speaker 1: Should have just been like one of these kids just
- 39:19Speaker 1: fucking pissed on me.
- 39:25Speaker 4: That's so smart.
- 39:26Speaker 3: I was not in my right state of mind.
- 39:28Speaker 1: You never in that situation. You never and was there
- 39:31Speaker 1: at any point in time where you were just like, oh,
- 39:34Speaker 1: the floodgates are open. I'm just gonna let it happen.
- 39:37Speaker 3: Yeah, Like in the arena, like when I got somewhere
- 39:40Speaker 3: the laser tag area, like the where you keep the
- 39:43Speaker 3: vest and stuff, I was like, it's not stopping now.
- 39:46Speaker 1: You suffered the most.
- 39:48Speaker 3: Yeah, there's definitely cameras in there. There's definitely cameras in
- 39:51Speaker 3: there and there's me peeing myself on a Wonderland arcade
- 39:55Speaker 3: camera somewhere.
- 39:56Speaker 2: They are so sorry for your Those friends are probably
- 39:58Speaker 2: like experienced, why a blanket?
- 40:02Speaker 1: I know my blanket part is like so genius.
- 40:07Speaker 2: Well, and thank you very much for coming on and
- 40:09Speaker 2: sorry that happened to you.
- 40:10Speaker 1: Well a bit. At least I got to come on here.
- 40:12Speaker 1: That's crazy.
- 40:14Speaker 3: That's okay, Thank you guys so much. I love you
- 40:17Speaker 3: so much. I'm want Patreon and I look forward to
- 40:20Speaker 3: every week's episode.
- 40:22Speaker 1: Thank you, thank you so much.
- 40:24Speaker 2: Yeah, byeh what a legend that is.
- 40:30Speaker 1: That's a good story, to be fair, Yeah, it's a
- 40:32Speaker 1: good story. It's unfortunate that the friends haven't spoken to us.
- 40:36Speaker 2: I think we's better than Pooh.
- 40:39Speaker 1: I think I think I would prefer to weigh myself
- 40:40Speaker 1: and put myself obviously. Yeah. Yeah, but you know what
- 40:42Speaker 1: I actually find is I when you're holding like I
- 40:46Speaker 1: would prefer to hold in a Pooh than a Wii. Yeah,
- 40:50Speaker 1: it's like you can hold it better driving home. Driving
- 40:54Speaker 1: home needed a Wii and we were like twenty two minutes.
- 40:58Speaker 1: I remember, it's like clearly twenty minutes from the nearest
- 41:00Speaker 1: place to Wi and I was like, oh, this is
- 41:03Speaker 1: going to be the hardest twenty two minutes of my life.
- 41:05Speaker 1: When I feel like when you need to wei, it's
- 41:06Speaker 1: like you need to wei.
- 41:07Speaker 2: But also one thing we never have to like comprehend.
- 41:10Speaker 2: I know, girls can pop a squad, but like realistically,
- 41:13Speaker 2: in the public, like nature, we can pee anywhere.
- 41:17Speaker 1: I was at God's Kids. You know a big banana
- 41:19Speaker 1: Cops Harbor. Yeah, if you guys are from Australia, it's
- 41:21Speaker 1: just like this place where I don't know it's the
- 41:23Speaker 1: big banana. Yeah, everyone knows that it went stopped there,
- 41:26Speaker 1: didn't We got a drink, was walking back out. There's
- 41:29Speaker 1: toilets ten meters to my left, to my right, seven
- 41:32Speaker 1: year old kid just pissing in the book. There's like
- 41:34Speaker 1: four hundred people around. It's a full attraction. And he
- 41:37Speaker 1: full made eye contact with me and just doubled down
- 41:39Speaker 1: and kept pissing. He was like maybe pants down to
- 41:42Speaker 1: his ankles and everything.
- 41:43Speaker 2: Before we started, like, I just pissed in the bush outside.
- 41:45Speaker 1: Oh yeah, that's where whenever we need to piss, we
- 41:47Speaker 1: just run out of the bushit We don't even go
- 41:48Speaker 1: to the house. All right.
- 41:53Speaker 2: We got one more story. Let's go shut up, Jacinottie.
- 41:56Speaker 1: We are hijacking the next couple of seconds of this episode.

- 42:12Speaker 2: the baddie community.
- 42:13Speaker 1: How much is it, Jake? It's five dollars a month.
- 42:16Speaker 1: You know how much that is a week? A dollar
- 42:17Speaker 1: twenty five a week? How much is that a day?
- 42:19Speaker 1: Seventeen cents a day.
- 42:21Speaker 2: Go run your money to Patreon because we love you
- 42:24Speaker 2: and it lets us be able to do this for

- 42:29Speaker 1: Value anyway, Thanks guys, enjoy the rest of the episode. Hello, Hello, Hello,
- 42:36Speaker 1: welcome to Confession Session. Sorry we didn't we thought we
- 42:38Speaker 1: didn't have you there for a second. How's it going good?
- 42:41Speaker 3: How are you.
- 42:41Speaker 1: Doing really well? I would like to start off by
- 42:44Speaker 1: asking if you would like to be anonymous.
- 42:47Speaker 4: I should probably say anonymous.
- 42:49Speaker 1: Easy peasy. So I've got all you some of my
- 42:51Speaker 1: left here. So hey, aud you say hi.
- 42:52Speaker 2: Hey, I haven't done this for a while. I feel nervous.
- 42:58Speaker 1: Have you got a name that you would like, have
- 43:00Speaker 1: always wanted to be called? Or do you want us
- 43:01Speaker 1: to choose a name for you? You can choose one, I said,
- 43:06Speaker 1: it's a little bit of an accent. Where are you
- 43:07Speaker 1: calling from? I might help pick the name.
- 43:09Speaker 4: I'm from Vancouver, Canada, Vancouver, Canada.
- 43:12Speaker 1: My sister is going to be fine in Vancouver series.
- 43:14Speaker 2: I only know one Canadian girl, but we did that
- 43:16Speaker 2: last time. What's a mad Canadian girl name?
- 43:18Speaker 1: I mean? Joanna? Yes, this is the one. We'll go
- 43:20Speaker 1: with Joanna Joan again.
- 43:22Speaker 2: All right, Joanna, fuck it, let's go Joanna.
- 43:25Speaker 1: Your name can be Joanna. So you've got to when
- 43:29Speaker 1: you go, when you got to go, you've got to go.
- 43:30Speaker 1: Story for us, I do, alrighty, well, take it from
- 43:34Speaker 1: the top, don't leave out any details, and Oddie and
- 43:36Speaker 1: I will ask some questions if needed. But yeah, take it,
- 43:39Speaker 1: take it away.
- 43:41Speaker 4: Okay, sounds good. So just for context of why this
- 43:45Speaker 4: story kind of happened, I just got diagnosed with crones
- 43:47Speaker 4: to so basically, your girl's got mega tummy issues.
- 43:50Speaker 1: Nice, Mike, I have a cousin with crones so I
- 43:52Speaker 1: don't know how you feel, but I know what it
- 43:53Speaker 1: looks like when someone's going through it.
- 43:56Speaker 4: Yeah, it's not fun. But anyways, one day I was
- 44:01Speaker 4: finishing up at work and I kind of had a
- 44:03Speaker 4: feeling that I probably needed to use the washroom soon,
- 44:05Speaker 4: but I decided it could wait till I got home
- 44:07Speaker 4: because I only live about like fifteen ten fifteen minutes
- 44:10Speaker 4: away from work, and so it's pretty quick drive and
- 44:13Speaker 4: then you know, I could go in the comfort of
- 44:14Speaker 4: my own home.
- 44:16Speaker 1: Kay.
- 44:17Speaker 4: Yeah, But midway through my drive, I kind of felt
- 44:28Speaker 4: like I had to let one rip and decided to
- 44:30Speaker 4: trust this part. But rookie mistake. I ended up sitting
- 44:35Speaker 4: myself while in my car and I still had like
- 44:38Speaker 4: five minutes left until I got home. I have never
- 44:44Speaker 4: driven home so fast before in my life. So and
- 44:51Speaker 4: so when I got home, I literally just like random
- 44:54Speaker 4: side and I was like yelling at my family just
- 44:56Speaker 4: moved out of the way. I was like I got
- 44:57Speaker 4: to feel really bad, like I could, and so I
- 45:01Speaker 4: like ran upstairs once in the bathroom like throw that
- 45:04Speaker 4: para bunder where I like took a shower, did then
- 45:07Speaker 4: everything like clean myself. Yeah, and then I took the
- 45:12Speaker 4: bathroom garbage like, I took it down, took it out
- 45:14Speaker 4: to the garage and threw it away in the trash
- 45:17Speaker 4: band and just acted like nothing happened.
- 45:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I get rid of the evidence.
- 45:22Speaker 2: Did the clothes exactly?
- 45:24Speaker 4: I wasn't luck when I was wearing a liner that day,
- 45:26Speaker 4: so it wasn't like too bad. Okay, so I didn't
- 45:28Speaker 4: get like everyone, but you know, I did a little
- 45:31Speaker 4: laundry immediately.
- 45:32Speaker 1: So many questions.
- 45:33Speaker 2: I picked this one because I think it's so relatable,
- 45:36Speaker 2: like everyone has this story.
- 45:37Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I've been. I've I've been drive nearly proved
- 45:39Speaker 1: myself in the car, but I got to my house
- 45:41Speaker 1: and was walking up the driveway and that's when I
- 45:43Speaker 1: did it, So I know what it feels like to
- 45:45Speaker 1: need to go when you're in the cars. Relatable. I
- 45:47Speaker 1: would like to point out one thing. When you do
- 45:49Speaker 1: pooh yourself, there is lots more There's a lot more
- 45:52Speaker 1: liquid than you think, and even if you have layers,
- 45:55Speaker 1: it gets through all of them. Did you experience this?
- 45:58Speaker 4: I did not. The liners I was wearing soaked up
- 46:01Speaker 4: most of it. So as a girl, I was really lucky,
- 46:03Speaker 4: thank goodness. But the story does get worse though, it
- 46:08Speaker 4: like to make matters worse. It was I really really
- 46:10Speaker 4: hot summer day, and so and that same week, my
- 46:14Speaker 4: dad had gone fishing, and so he had kind of
- 46:17Speaker 4: like thrown out all the fish cuts in the garbage
- 46:19Speaker 4: and the garage as well, And for that entire week
- 46:23Speaker 4: he just kept complaining about how bad it came out
- 46:25Speaker 4: in the garage. She's like, oh, that fish smells so bad.
- 46:28Speaker 4: And I was like, yeah, definitely the fish and not
- 46:30Speaker 4: my ship filled under it in the garbage, and I
- 46:34Speaker 4: just I was just too embarrassed the company and I
- 46:36Speaker 4: just I.
- 46:37Speaker 1: Just couldn't don't it's so funny? Wow?
- 46:46Speaker 4: But yeah, and so now I'm just to the damn
- 46:48Speaker 4: I'm scared to trust the part ever really again, in
- 46:50Speaker 4: case I short myself again, did did they?
- 46:54Speaker 1: Did anyone ever end up finding out?
- 46:57Speaker 4: I did end up only recently confessing to my dad
- 47:00Speaker 4: since it happened. I did tell my sister when it
- 47:01Speaker 4: happened to you, because she kind of knows everything already.
- 47:03Speaker 4: But I only recently told my dad the past couple
- 47:06Speaker 4: of weeks. But it's just like from months ago that
- 47:08Speaker 4: it happened.
- 47:09Speaker 1: You're going to tell him, Yeah, you got to tell
- 47:10Speaker 1: him later on.
- 47:11Speaker 2: I feel like Jake had the exact same thing, Like
- 47:13Speaker 2: he didn't tell me his story of shooting himself to
- 47:15Speaker 2: like a year later.
- 47:16Speaker 1: No, No, I waited like four years.
- 47:19Speaker 2: It's like a secret you take to your grave.
- 47:20Speaker 1: Eye. Yeah, I thought I thought I was going to
- 47:24Speaker 1: take that to my grave, and then I was just like, Oh,
- 47:26Speaker 1: the content's too good, I have to tell it. But
- 47:28Speaker 1: oh man, I'm trying to think glass half full. As
- 47:31Speaker 1: Otti would say, at least you were in the car
- 47:33Speaker 1: on your own. Yeah, and you had the you were
- 47:35Speaker 1: nearly home, like that is true.
- 47:38Speaker 4: It could have been worse.
- 47:40Speaker 1: Oh yeah, thank you so much for coming on, Joanna.
- 47:42Speaker 4: Yeah, thank you, thank you so much for having me.
- 47:47Speaker 1: Have a good have a good day or good night. Really,
- 47:49Speaker 1: wouldn't it be you're not.
- 47:51Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a six o'clock, we're here.
- 47:53Speaker 1: Have a good night. Thank you for coming on. Thank you.
- 47:55Speaker 4: See yah, thanks so much you guys.
- 47:56Speaker 1: Bye.
- 47:57Speaker 2: Why I say it's time to normalize every shots?
- 48:00Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, everyone has definitely done something like that.
- 48:04Speaker 2: Yeah, send in your stories, but you've got to go
- 48:05Speaker 2: You've got to go to the Google doc.
- 48:07Speaker 1: Yeah, exactly. If you want to send in a confessional
- 48:09Speaker 1: session of when you've got to go, you gotta go
- 48:10Speaker 1: send them in. Yeah, this is the most reoccurring confess.
- 48:12Speaker 1: This is definitely the most recurrent theme. You can send
- 48:14Speaker 1: any theme if you want to confess anything. But yeah,
- 48:17Speaker 1: we we have we ever had some confessed cheating on
- 48:19Speaker 1: their boyfriend or girlfriend. I want to do a whole
- 48:21Speaker 1: segment on that. We're kind of scary.
- 48:23Speaker 2: We have to get a way to do it where
- 48:24Speaker 2: it's not like voice changer, No, not in voice changes,
- 48:26Speaker 2: just not toxic ones. Yeah, like like I don't know,
- 48:29Speaker 2: I would have to figure out a way.
- 48:30Speaker 1: I will think of something.
- 48:37Speaker 2: All right, Jake, I'm excited to talk about this next.
- 48:40Speaker 1: Part, mate, I'm fucking excited.
- 48:42Speaker 2: And this is part two of Otie's experience in therapy. Yes,
- 48:46Speaker 2: so I once again, like I said, went back to therapy,
- 48:51Speaker 2: and before I talk about it, let's play my before
- 48:53Speaker 2: mindset before.
- 48:54Speaker 1: I went to my session.
- 48:56Speaker 2: Okay, round two. I'm out in the front of the
- 48:58Speaker 2: therapist once again, and this time slightly nervous, not nearly
- 49:05Speaker 2: as much I would say last time I said on
- 49:07Speaker 2: the podcast, I think I was seven or an eight
- 49:09Speaker 2: hour ten nervous wise, now I'm like a two, but
- 49:12Speaker 2: I think I'm in a good place to actually take
- 49:14Speaker 2: in the information. The first time I was a bit
- 49:16Speaker 2: overwhelmed and it went really quickly.
- 49:18Speaker 1: It was still good.
- 49:19Speaker 2: But now I feel like I'm at a level head
- 49:22Speaker 2: and I feel like I'm comfortable enough to talk about
- 49:24Speaker 2: my feelings. I know the guy like this one should
- 49:28Speaker 2: be a lot better and I should be able to
- 49:30Speaker 2: take in all the information and hopefully come away with
- 49:32Speaker 2: a couple of tools or have some good stimulating conversations
- 49:35Speaker 2: that make me think. But yeah, so I'm about to
- 49:38Speaker 2: go in. We've got about five to ten minutes, and
- 49:41Speaker 2: I'm thinking to start talking about Actually, I had a
- 49:45Speaker 2: pretty traumatic thing happened with my dog last night. I
- 49:47Speaker 2: thought he was going to pass away and didn't get
- 49:50Speaker 2: much sleep. That might come up in conversation. We'll see
- 49:53Speaker 2: what happens. But otherwise, my biggest problem right now is
- 49:56Speaker 2: having trouble shutting off from work life balance. But otherwise, yeah,
- 50:02Speaker 2: I've been a much better place walking in there, and
- 50:04Speaker 2: I think we should have some good combos.
- 50:06Speaker 1: Let's see how it goes. So is there an after?
- 50:10Speaker 1: There is an al?
- 50:11Speaker 2: Shit, there is an after? So we did talk about
- 50:14Speaker 2: my dog. Just want to preface before we go on
- 50:16Speaker 2: a further Berry is fine.
- 50:17Speaker 1: How's he going. He's fine, He's back to his normal stuff.
- 50:20Speaker 1: The very old dog. And we thought we had to
- 50:21Speaker 1: put him down. He was freaking out at night, just had.
- 50:24Speaker 2: Like a brain aneurysm or a stroke or something apparently,
- 50:27Speaker 2: and we thought we're gonna have to put him down.
- 50:28Speaker 1: But he's okay. Everybody good. So I'm okay, good good, And.
- 50:32Speaker 2: Here is the after Already Round two is done. And
- 50:37Speaker 2: I got to say it, like from my personal experience,
- 50:41Speaker 2: I do feel really good walking out of there. It's interesting.
- 50:44Speaker 2: I was thinking about it when we were in there.
- 50:46Speaker 2: It might be cool to try with your friends or
- 50:48Speaker 2: anything like that. Just sitting down. As humans, we always
- 50:52Speaker 2: have to be doing something in the background when we're
- 50:54Speaker 2: talking to someone. We're eating, we're driving, we're walking, we're
- 50:57Speaker 2: going to the gym.
- 50:58Speaker 1: We're doing something.
- 50:59Speaker 2: To actually sit down and have a conversation with a person,
- 51:03Speaker 2: like for an hour. I know I do it with Jake,
- 51:05Speaker 2: but that's different because with the podcast. But sit down
- 51:07Speaker 2: with a person and consciously make the decision to talk
- 51:10Speaker 2: to each other and be fully enveloped by the conversations
- 51:13Speaker 2: without doing anything else is such an enriching experience. I
- 51:16Speaker 2: think it's like it really like just makes you feel human.
- 51:19Speaker 2: But today's session was really good. He made a really
- 51:22Speaker 2: good analogy actually, which I really liked because I said
- 51:25Speaker 2: I was going in there with no purpose or direction,
- 51:27Speaker 2: really wanted to see what happened. Did talk about my dog,
- 51:30Speaker 2: and it was good just to like talk about how
- 51:31Speaker 2: I felt. But he more so said it's interesting for
- 51:35Speaker 2: him as well, because most people that come in and
- 51:37Speaker 2: have an underlying problem and they want to figure it out.
- 51:39Speaker 1: It's more so this is the analogy you gave. It's
- 51:41Speaker 1: pretty funny.
- 51:42Speaker 2: Actually, It's like I've opened up my doors to my
- 51:45Speaker 2: house and I'm giving him a tour, and there's no
- 51:47Speaker 2: direction in the tour, and it's sort of like walk
- 51:49Speaker 2: through a room and say, hey can I clean.
- 51:51Speaker 1: Up these things? Or hey, could I fix this?
- 51:53Speaker 2: And there's no real problem with the house, but it's
- 51:56Speaker 2: anything I could do to improve, like tidy up and
- 51:58Speaker 2: neaten up the edges, which is kind of cool and
- 52:00Speaker 2: pretty accurate for the reason I go to therapy. And
- 52:04Speaker 2: a couple of the edges we're talking about today was like,
- 52:07Speaker 2: how can I turn off at night?
- 52:08Speaker 1: We talked about meditation and a couple of.
- 52:10Speaker 2: Tips or how to like enjoy the present moment, and
- 52:15Speaker 2: it was really enriching experience. And it's just cool to
- 52:18Speaker 2: talk to someone and get a different perspective from someone
- 52:20Speaker 2: you're not friends with and don't have any sort.
- 52:22Speaker 1: Of like ties too.
- 52:24Speaker 2: But yeah, overall very happy again, Like my experience is
- 52:28Speaker 2: good and I'll go back in a month.
- 52:31Speaker 1: Shit. Yeah, that's a good analogy. It was a great analogy.
- 52:34Speaker 1: When he said it to me, I'm like, you just
- 52:36Speaker 1: spat a bar mat. It's like someone's invited me in
- 52:40Speaker 1: and they just kind of they don't even know where
- 52:42Speaker 1: they're going exactly.
- 52:44Speaker 2: And like as we're talking, he sort of realizes.
- 52:47Speaker 1: Oh, that room's a bit dirty.
- 52:49Speaker 2: Yeah, have you tried this or lets you talk a
- 52:52Speaker 2: little bit more about that. I'm like, oh, I didn't
- 52:54Speaker 2: think about that, And like I didn't think about that.
- 52:56Speaker 2: And I was like, I didn't realize that room was
- 52:57Speaker 2: that dirty. And it's also good too, because I don't
- 53:01Speaker 2: know which rooms are dirty in my house. Sometimes I
- 53:04Speaker 2: think that's a lot of people's problems. Yeah I can't
- 53:07Speaker 2: see him, You've shut the door, but the problem is
- 53:08Speaker 2: still there.
- 53:10Speaker 1: And he festering.
- 53:11Speaker 2: Yeah, although it might not be the perfect time to
- 53:14Speaker 2: open the door, he helps you open and realize those
- 53:16Speaker 2: problems can be solved in a certain way. And like
- 53:20Speaker 2: I said, it was a great experience, and like the
- 53:22Speaker 2: second time around, I'm way better going in there, and
- 53:26Speaker 2: like chatting wasn't nervous at all, and then my sweaty
- 53:28Speaker 2: palms and he's Yeah, it's such a cool different experience
- 53:33Speaker 2: I've ever experienced as a human, Like I said, because
- 53:36Speaker 2: like when you talk to your friends or vent to anyone,
- 53:38Speaker 2: even your friends, your family and anything like that, we're.
- 53:39Speaker 1: Always doing something.
- 53:40Speaker 2: Yeah, you don't just sit down and look two people
- 53:42Speaker 2: in the eye less. Why don't in my life that
- 53:44Speaker 2: Even with my girlfriend we watched TV. We occasionally do
- 53:46Speaker 2: it on a date and she's the only person who
- 53:48Speaker 2: I do that with. But like with your girlfriend, you
- 53:51Speaker 2: always but we're still eating on a date. Like, you
- 53:53Speaker 2: don't just sit there and the only thing you do
- 53:55Speaker 2: is get the water when you need because you're talking
- 53:57Speaker 2: so much. And it's such a human experience and although
- 54:00Speaker 2: you have to fucking pay for it, it's a really
- 54:02Speaker 2: good experience.
- 54:04Speaker 1: Where fair Man maybe therapy, maybe they just like, let's
- 54:10Speaker 1: just say I don't know randomly. Take JJ for example,
- 54:15Speaker 1: right if you just like booked in a time with him,
- 54:19Speaker 1: and you guys booked in a time where you both
- 54:21Speaker 1: knew that you were going to go down and sit
- 54:23Speaker 1: down and talk for a full hour, and then like
- 54:25Speaker 1: whatever came from that chat, neither neither one of you
- 54:29Speaker 1: we're going to talk about any of it outside, like
- 54:31Speaker 1: you had a pact. Yeah, Like would that be as
- 54:34Speaker 1: useful as therapy? I think? So maybe that makes me
- 54:38Speaker 1: think though, maybe like, so let's say you're worried about
- 54:41Speaker 1: a friend. We like, is it crazy to call up
- 54:45Speaker 1: a friend and be like, not say that you're worried
- 54:47Speaker 1: about them, but just be like, oh, like let's hang
- 54:52Speaker 1: out and have a chat and not like literally don't
- 54:55Speaker 1: even know what about Like we'll just start talking and
- 54:57Speaker 1: see what happens, like just to find out if probably
- 55:00Speaker 1: there's probably so much you don't even know about your
- 55:02Speaker 1: close friends.
- 55:03Speaker 2: And I think it's so good when you have no
- 55:05Speaker 2: other distractions and like you don't go on your phone,
- 55:08Speaker 2: you don't do anything, and you're just there in the
- 55:09Speaker 2: conversation and it's such a different thing. We get the
- 55:12Speaker 2: sort of experience on here because when you're consciously thinking
- 55:15Speaker 2: about the conversation and your next answers, you're more enveloped
- 55:18Speaker 2: by the conversation. And I'm in it with you, like
- 55:21Speaker 2: I'm in this conversation right now with you one hundred percent.
- 55:24Speaker 2: But in my day to day life, like even when
- 55:26Speaker 2: my parents talk to me, like I'm doing it, I'm cooking,
- 55:28Speaker 2: I'm fucking on my phone, I'm not in that conversation.
- 55:30Speaker 2: Maybe that's something I can reflect on and get better
- 55:32Speaker 2: at two and maybe just put everything down and like, oh,
- 55:34Speaker 2: my mum's talking to me, I'm gonna talk to her.
- 55:36Speaker 1: What was I fucking watching? Man? I was watching something, Okay,
- 55:41Speaker 1: I think it was. There's a podcast called Brook and
- 55:45Speaker 1: conn and make a podcast from La from America. And
- 55:49Speaker 1: he was talking about how he was in Amsterdam somewhere right,
- 55:52Speaker 1: and he was young. His dad traveled a lot because
- 55:56Speaker 1: he was in the army, and he went to Amsterdam
- 55:59Speaker 1: a lot, and he had a coffee shop. He went
- 56:01Speaker 1: to a lot, right, and he goes to the coffee
- 56:03Speaker 1: shop and he orders a takeaway coffee or so or
- 56:08Speaker 1: he orders the coffee, it doesn't come in take away,
- 56:10Speaker 1: and he goes, oh, I actually I wanted that. I
- 56:12Speaker 1: wanted that one in takeaway, and the brista goes, just
- 56:16Speaker 1: sit down and drink your coffee, Like, if you don't
- 56:20Speaker 1: have time to drink your coffee, you're doing something wrong.
- 56:24Speaker 1: That actually happened. Was that just like a He said, no,
- 56:26Speaker 1: he said that what the bristle said to him was
- 56:29Speaker 1: just sit down and drink your coffee. Yeah, he didn't
- 56:31Speaker 1: say if you don't have time to drink cofee something wrong,
- 56:33Speaker 1: but he said, just sit down and drink your coffee.
- 56:35Speaker 1: He said it kind of like opened his eyes. And
- 56:37Speaker 1: so now I've kind of just for the last week,
- 56:40Speaker 1: I've just been thinking, like fuck, if you can't just
- 56:42Speaker 1: sit down and drink your coffee, then that's like it's crazy.
- 56:47Speaker 1: I don't want to say anyone's doing anything wrong, but
- 56:49Speaker 1: I just think it's crazy to think about that. Like
- 56:51Speaker 1: when I was a carpenter or when I was doing it,
- 56:53Speaker 1: like I would make a coffee to go and drink
- 56:55Speaker 1: it in the car because like I would wake up
- 56:56Speaker 1: because I wanted to have as muchleep as PSSIB because
- 56:58Speaker 1: I don't want to tired, because I had to wake
- 56:59Speaker 1: up so early and wake up with so close to
- 57:02Speaker 1: needing to leave that I don't have to do all
- 57:05Speaker 1: this stuff and rush to do it. But it's like,
- 57:08Speaker 1: if you can't fucking just sit down for five minutes
- 57:10Speaker 1: and drink a coffee, maybe done the reassess. Yeah. Crazy.
- 57:14Speaker 1: It's a great mindset shift to have if you can't
- 57:16Speaker 1: sit down for twenty minutes and talk to a friend,
- 57:19Speaker 1: because you don't have to do it for an hour,
- 57:21Speaker 1: it could be ten minutes. Yeah, if you have to
- 57:23Speaker 1: be doing something.
- 57:24Speaker 2: I'll tell you what else is a really good skill
- 57:26Speaker 2: that I think we've unconsciously got good at because of
- 57:29Speaker 2: the podcast and talking to each other and potentially why
- 57:31Speaker 2: my experience is good. It's a skill talking to someone
- 57:35Speaker 2: and keeping the conversation going. And yeah, I do realize
- 57:39Speaker 2: the second time, once we got all the small chit
- 57:42Speaker 2: chat like a first dad out of the way, the
- 57:43Speaker 2: conversation flow is slightly more segmented, and it's definitely even
- 57:48Speaker 2: a skill if you're doing it with your friends. You
- 57:49Speaker 2: don't have to pay any money. It's such a skill
- 57:51Speaker 2: if you don't have these distractions there to keep the
- 57:53Speaker 2: conversation going and practice you're talking to someone else, like,
- 57:57Speaker 2: it's such a good skill to have.
- 57:58Speaker 1: That's great. Yeah, No, we've been that's fair. We've been
- 58:01Speaker 1: told a fair a bit that you just I guess
- 58:04Speaker 1: with you and I kind of we have chemistry, yeah,
- 58:06Speaker 1: because like we're best mates. So it just is like
- 58:09Speaker 1: easy to do, but I guess some people would try.
- 58:11Speaker 2: I think it's a great skill and it's sort of
- 58:13Speaker 2: you can take that skill as well into your workplace
- 58:15Speaker 2: when you're talking of friends, bosses, clients, anything like that.
- 58:18Speaker 1: Yeah, because I.
- 58:18Speaker 2: Know a lot of people and a lot of jobs
- 58:20Speaker 2: are held back by their communication skills.
- 58:22Speaker 1: It's a good point and all everyone puts on their
- 58:24Speaker 1: regume good communication skills. Yeah, everyone seems to think that's
- 58:27Speaker 1: such a big thing.
- 58:27Speaker 2: But with these phones make communication all yeah, all through here,
- 58:31Speaker 2: and I think it's human to your human interaction is
- 58:33Speaker 2: so important and maybe that's a good takeaway from this episode.
- 58:37Speaker 1: Yeah, go with the flow. Sit down and drink your coffee. Yeah,
- 58:43Speaker 1: sit down in the cafe and drink your coffee. Yeah. Okay, guys,
- 58:53Speaker 1: thank you everybody for listening. We are going to call
- 58:56Speaker 1: one of you lovely listeners to sign off the episode
- 58:59Speaker 1: for us, and you call you want to sign off.
- 59:02Speaker 2: An episode link is in the description of this episode.
- 59:05Speaker 1: It is. Yeah, go sign up and we might give
- 59:06Speaker 1: you a call today. We're going to call Miah. Let's
- 59:08Speaker 1: do it.
