- 0:02Speaker 1: Today's variety, Big ninety eight point seven. This is Gabe
- 0:05Speaker 1: and Angie. We've got Sunshine and sixty three. Today it
- 0:09Speaker 1: is flannel Friday. All right, we love that, Angie. I
- 0:13Speaker 1: appreciate you jumping on board here rocking a flannel today.
- 0:17Speaker 1: I have one on as well, and hopefully you celebrate
- 0:20Speaker 1: flannel Friday with us here on Big ninety eight point seven.
- 0:23Speaker 1: That right there could be a little victory or a
- 0:24Speaker 1: major victory. It'd be major in my heart.
- 0:27Speaker 2: I love flannel Friday because now I don't have to
- 0:30Speaker 2: worry about my wardrobe for at least one day.
- 0:33Speaker 3: Of that's right.
- 0:34Speaker 1: It takes all the guesswork out of it. That's like
- 0:37Speaker 1: Steve Jobs. That dude woke up and wore a black
- 0:39Speaker 1: turtleneck every day for eternity.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Oh yeah, he's like a cartoon exactly.
- 0:45Speaker 1: We do have little victories for you as we practice
- 0:47Speaker 1: gratitude every single morning here on Big ninety eight point seven,
- 0:50Speaker 1: because it's important, Gabe.
- 0:55Speaker 2: My little victory reminds me a little bit of you
- 0:58Speaker 2: and your wife.
- 0:59Speaker 3: Yesterday.
- 1:00Speaker 2: I usually reserve this for the weekend, but yesterday Mikey
- 1:03Speaker 2: and I just kind of got into a mood and
- 1:06Speaker 2: we were like, let's just clean, and we cleaned the house.
- 1:11Speaker 2: It was lovely. It felt so nice to in the
- 1:15Speaker 2: middle of the week, well I mean.
- 1:17Speaker 3: Close to the end of the week, but no, no, no,
- 1:19Speaker 3: Thursday's mid.
- 1:20Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, for it to be like, oh, the kitchen's clean,
- 1:24Speaker 2: all of the dishes are done, the counters are wiped down,
- 1:27Speaker 2: we vacuumed everything, laundry is done.
- 1:29Speaker 3: That never happens on a Thursday. That's like a Sunday.
- 1:32Speaker 2: Actually, yeah right, And so yeah, I'm feeling really good
- 1:35Speaker 2: about that because now when I get home from work today,
- 1:39Speaker 2: I won't see a pile of dishes. And that makes
- 1:42Speaker 2: my heart feel so good, Gabe.
- 1:44Speaker 3: It does. I Thursday.
- 1:45Speaker 1: I have discovered Thursday is actually the best day of
- 1:50Speaker 1: the week to get all those things done. There is
- 1:52Speaker 1: something about on the weekend where usually you know, the
- 1:55Speaker 1: weekend is unless you're having a lazy weekend, which is awesome,
- 1:59Speaker 1: but you know that's when you're running around the most.
- 2:00Speaker 1: You're going to this, you're doing this, yeah, and your
- 2:02Speaker 1: house you know, just slowly you're putting stuff down on
- 2:05Speaker 1: the kitchen counter and whatever. It kind of starts to
- 2:07Speaker 1: get a little bit messy. There's nothing better than waking
- 2:10Speaker 1: up on a Saturday and going, Wow, there is zero
- 2:13Speaker 1: cleaning I need to do today. It is fabulous. Thursday
- 2:17Speaker 1: is really kind of our if it's like seven eight
- 2:20Speaker 1: o'clock and we're like, all right, can we do like
- 2:22Speaker 1: three things real quick? So either A the whole house
- 2:25Speaker 1: would be clean at that point, because Corey does a
- 2:27Speaker 1: wonderful job of keeping it clean all the time. Or
- 2:30Speaker 1: B it's like, let's just do a couple things so
- 2:33Speaker 1: that on Saturday we only have to do a couple things,
- 2:35Speaker 1: or on Sunday or whatever.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Well, I love cleaning on Thursday.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Yeah, that's now I think gonna be the thing, like,
- 2:40Speaker 2: let's just clean on Thursday. Yeah, and be like Gabe
- 2:44Speaker 2: and Corey, you guys are a couple gold.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Well, I don't know about that, but I do like
- 2:48Speaker 1: when it is done. You are right, my little victory Angie.
- 2:52Speaker 1: Yesterday your boy could have entered in a food eating
- 2:55Speaker 1: competition at Unhinge. Like, I don't know what the heck happened,
- 2:59Speaker 1: but I was starving and I went there.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Yesterday.
- 3:03Speaker 1: I had a build your own macaroni bowl, which was delightful.
- 3:07Speaker 1: I love that, And of course I'm done eating it.
- 3:11Speaker 1: I'm like, you know, I I can't not get some wings.
- 3:14Speaker 1: I got a whole nother entraine, all right, and I
- 3:18Speaker 1: could have finished it, but I didn't on purpose.
- 3:22Speaker 3: Also that you can have all that today.
- 3:24Speaker 1: At you know, once the show is done, I will
- 3:27Speaker 1: be having some leftover wings from Unhinged in West Fargo.
- 3:31Speaker 1: That is my little victory not having to worry about
- 3:33Speaker 1: what I was going to have for lunch today, which
- 3:36Speaker 1: is always just soup, so i don't really worry about it.
- 3:38Speaker 1: But I'm looking forward to those wings.
- 3:40Speaker 3: Let me just.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Add this though, I mean, you were really a voracious
- 3:44Speaker 2: eater yesterday, because in between you, I mean devouring.
- 3:50Speaker 3: That macaroni and cheese with the crispy chicken, you.
- 3:53Speaker 2: Also were like munching on your wife's tater tots off
- 3:57Speaker 2: of her dish. Yeah, while you waited for the wings
- 4:00Speaker 2: that then you also were stuffing your face with.
- 4:02Speaker 3: I mean I was impressed.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Yeah, all the it's like a garbage disposal. All that food.
- 4:06Speaker 1: I think was just you know, I was storing it
- 4:10Speaker 1: in like a leg or something.
- 4:11Speaker 2: I don't know, it was like going into hibernation moment
- 4:14Speaker 2: or something.
- 4:15Speaker 3: You ate so much.
- 4:15Speaker 2: But I mean that's what happens when you eat at
- 4:18Speaker 2: Unhinged in West Fargo.
- 4:19Speaker 3: The food's really good, so good. What did you do? Angie?
- 4:27Speaker 3: This is am I the Problem?
- 4:29Speaker 2: Where you tell us your side of the story and
- 4:31Speaker 2: we let you know if you're in the right or
- 4:33Speaker 2: if maybe you're the problem.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Ahead I guess before you get there, knowing you how
- 4:39Speaker 1: I know you, I'm just gonna safely assume you're the problem,
- 4:42Speaker 1: all right.
- 4:43Speaker 3: I just want to I just want to throw that
- 4:45Speaker 3: out right off the bad here. I can't stand but
- 4:47Speaker 3: I did.
- 4:48Speaker 2: I'm hijacking it. I wrote in my own am I
- 4:52Speaker 2: the problem? Okay, So I'm going to read it like normal. Hi, Gabe,
- 4:56Speaker 2: love doing the show with you.
- 4:58Speaker 3: I want to know if I'm the problem? Okay.
- 5:01Speaker 2: My son's fifteenth birthday was earlier this week, and we
- 5:04Speaker 2: got him the bike he'd put on his Christmas list.
- 5:08Speaker 2: We got his reaction on camera, and I sent it
- 5:11Speaker 2: to my mom since she's not on social media but
- 5:13Speaker 2: likes to stay included. She responded that she was happy
- 5:17Speaker 2: for him, but would have loved to see the reaction
- 5:19Speaker 2: to her gift, but she guesses that this gift superseded
- 5:23Speaker 2: her own. I apologized and explained, I only film the
- 5:27Speaker 2: reaction to the gift for me and my boyfriend because
- 5:30Speaker 2: we knew he'd be surprised, and we didn't film the
- 5:34Speaker 2: reaction to any of the gifts he received from friends
- 5:37Speaker 2: and family. Rather, he reached out personally to thank them,
- 5:41Speaker 2: something he also did with my mom. She said she
- 5:44Speaker 2: just likes to see that she's important, but she knows
- 5:46Speaker 2: she is even if she doesn't see it. I apologized
- 5:51Speaker 2: that her feelings were her, and she said it wasn't
- 5:53Speaker 2: a big enough.
- 5:54Speaker 3: Deal that her feelings.
- 5:56Speaker 2: It wasn't a big enough deal that her feelings were
- 5:59Speaker 2: actually her.
- 6:00Speaker 3: But now I feel bad? Am I the problem here? Wow?
- 6:06Speaker 3: Sounds like a lot's going on in the old angie world.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Well, I'm gonna first start off by saying my answer
- 6:13Speaker 1: really can be swayed one way or the other by
- 6:16Speaker 1: one simple question here.
- 6:18Speaker 3: Well, can you tell me what was the gift that
- 6:20Speaker 3: she got?
- 6:21Speaker 2: Oh? One hundred dollars? And then she just transferred it
- 6:24Speaker 2: straight into my bank account? And so I told Aiden
- 6:28Speaker 2: about it. Yeah, and then he immediately he jumped on
- 6:31Speaker 2: a FaceTime with her and thinked her and I assume was.
- 6:34Speaker 3: Excited about it. How Are you supposed to film a
- 6:36Speaker 3: reaction to that? Or did I just answer the question?
- 6:40Speaker 2: Okay that that's what I'm saying, like, I don't know,
- 6:43Speaker 2: I don't know what I was supposed Was I supposed
- 6:45Speaker 2: to have Mikey take his phone and film me telling
- 6:49Speaker 2: Aiden a hundred dollars transfer? Like I don't know, and
- 6:54Speaker 2: I know that she said, like, no, it wasn't a
- 6:56Speaker 2: big enough deal that I'm I'm hurt.
- 6:58Speaker 3: Like that's fine. But was it fine? Yeah? Obviously not,
- 7:01Speaker 3: Otherwise you wouldn't brought it up. You wouldn't have brought
- 7:03Speaker 3: it up. But am I have a problem here? Should
- 7:05Speaker 3: I have thought that far a home?
- 7:07Speaker 1: My question is, is your mom listening this morning? Because
- 7:11Speaker 1: if she's not, you're clearly in the right. And it's
- 7:14Speaker 1: not like you can It's not like you can film
- 7:17Speaker 1: every second of your son's life and every single thing
- 7:20Speaker 1: that he gets on every birthday or holiday or Christmas. Right, Yeah, now,
- 7:24Speaker 1: if your mom's listening, she's totally in the right. Angie,
- 7:26Speaker 1: you how could you be so disrespectful to your own mother? Okay,
- 7:31Speaker 1: your mother deserves to see her grandson's eyes light up
- 7:36Speaker 1: like a Christmas tree or those fireworks on the fourth
- 7:39Speaker 1: of July for a gift that was well thought out
- 7:42Speaker 1: and planned for for him to have. Okay, so go
- 7:45Speaker 1: with one of those two answers, depending on if she's
- 7:48Speaker 1: hanging out with us.
- 7:49Speaker 3: This one, I don't know if she's listening.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Seven oh one two eight zero one nine eight seven.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Let us know here? Is Angie the problem? Should she
- 7:57Speaker 1: have made a better effort to capture Aiden's reaction to
- 8:01Speaker 1: the gift from Grandma on video, the gift being one
- 8:04Speaker 1: hundred dollars Yeah, and it wasn't a one hundred dollars bill,
- 8:07Speaker 1: which might make a change of what you'd think it
- 8:11Speaker 1: was simply, you know, like a Venmo or a cell transfer.
- 8:14Speaker 1: All right, let us know what you think. This is
- 8:16Speaker 1: also up on Facebook Tech Facebook. You can text us
- 8:18Speaker 1: calls anything along those lines. Seven oh one two eight
- 8:21Speaker 1: zero one nine eighty seven. Is Angie the problem? The problem?
- 8:31Speaker 2: I actually wrote in Wondering if I'm the problem? Aiden
- 8:35Speaker 2: turned fifteen and we surprised him with a bike that
- 8:38Speaker 2: he wanted for Christmas, and so I recorded his reaction.
- 8:41Speaker 2: I actually posted it to the big ninety eight point
- 8:43Speaker 2: seven Facebook page, but my mom's not on social media,
- 8:46Speaker 2: so I sent her the video and she was happy
- 8:49Speaker 2: for him, but then she was like, oh well, I
- 8:50Speaker 2: would have liked to see No, I'll say it in
- 8:53Speaker 2: her accent, Oh well, I would have liked to see
- 8:56Speaker 2: his reaction to my present, But I guess that pressing
- 9:00Speaker 2: was better than mine. And I felt bad and I
- 9:05Speaker 2: was like, I'm sorry. I was like, I didn't film
- 9:09Speaker 2: his reaction to anybody's gifts. I had him like FaceTime
- 9:13Speaker 2: and personally thank people, which he did with my mom.
- 9:15Speaker 2: And she said, oh well, I just like, boo, see
- 9:18Speaker 2: that I'm important, even if what's she I know I'm important,
- 9:24Speaker 2: even if I don't see it.
- 9:25Speaker 3: Was she trolling you? Do you think? Do you think
- 9:28Speaker 3: you're just messing with you a little bit?
- 9:30Speaker 2: Baby?
- 9:30Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 9:31Speaker 2: But then I apologize for hurting her feelings and she said,
- 9:34Speaker 2: I know it's not that big a deal. Okay, If
- 9:36Speaker 2: it's not that big a deal, then why did you
- 9:38Speaker 2: bring it up? And now I just feel kind of bad.
- 9:40Speaker 2: So I wanted to know. Am I the problem for
- 9:44Speaker 2: not recording her reaction to cause? I will say this
- 9:48Speaker 2: when it is Christmas time, I do always record his
- 9:51Speaker 2: reaction to her gifts.
- 9:53Speaker 3: But at Christmas time.
- 9:54Speaker 2: It's usually like a physical thing in terms of like
- 9:58Speaker 2: a tangible whatever that he's opening. And for this gift,
- 10:02Speaker 2: it was that she sent him one hundred dollars, but
- 10:04Speaker 2: like transferred it to my bank account, and I wasn't
- 10:07Speaker 2: gonna like show him my bank account.
- 10:09Speaker 1: You know what, in standard Gabe Glidden fashion, I've pulled
- 10:14Speaker 1: a complete one eighty. Angie, you are totally in the wrong.
- 10:18Speaker 1: You have set a precedent for your mother Aiden's grandma
- 10:22Speaker 1: to get a reaction to these gifts by doing it
- 10:25Speaker 1: for her on Christmas. Why would you not just do
- 10:28Speaker 1: it for your birthday? You should know better. You opened
- 10:32Speaker 1: up this can of worms and now you're using them
- 10:34Speaker 1: to go fishing. Okay, we need you to film these
- 10:37Speaker 1: videos for Grandma. She obviously likes them. This is your fault. See,
- 10:43Speaker 1: I'm doing that just in case Angie's mom is listening. Now,
- 10:46Speaker 1: Angie's mom, if you're not listening, I'll be honest.
- 10:49Speaker 3: It really isn't that big of a deal.
- 10:50Speaker 2: You know what, if my mom were listening right now,
- 10:53Speaker 2: she'd say, Gabe, you're so good to.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Me, right Adam. He did chime in on Facebook. He said,
- 11:00Speaker 1: give the gift because you want to create joy. Being
- 11:03Speaker 1: upset you didn't get to see a reaction to the
- 11:05Speaker 1: gift feels a bit selfish and might take away from
- 11:08Speaker 1: giving the gift in the first place.
- 11:10Speaker 3: And he does also have a point.
- 11:12Speaker 1: I think people kind of forget that when you give
- 11:14Speaker 1: a gift, it's supposed to be a sign of appreciation
- 11:18Speaker 1: or a show of love or a nice gesture or
- 11:21Speaker 1: whatever to expect something back in return, which everybody has
- 11:26Speaker 1: felt that way before, like, oh, I did this for you,
- 11:29Speaker 1: why aren't you?
- 11:29Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying.
- 11:30Speaker 1: That is a very relatable thing, So it is important
- 11:33Speaker 1: to remember with holiday season right around the corner. You know,
- 11:36Speaker 1: you do give gifts, it's supposed to be a sign
- 11:38Speaker 1: of love and appreciation and you know, a nice gesture
- 11:42Speaker 1: as opposed to I did something for you, You got
- 11:44Speaker 1: to do something for me?
- 11:45Speaker 2: Now, Okay, well this is very validating to me. Am
- 11:48Speaker 2: I gonna tell my mom this, Absolutely not I'm scared
- 11:52Speaker 2: of her.
- 11:52Speaker 3: You tell her I'm on her team. Okay, all right.
- 11:57Speaker 1: It was a chilly October morning and Fargo, the kind
- 12:01Speaker 1: where your coffee needs coffee. Angie had her flannel ready,
- 12:07Speaker 1: red red plaid, perfectly folded smelling faintly of pumpkin spice
- 12:15Speaker 1: and sass. Oh no, But when Angie opened her closet,
- 12:20Speaker 1: her favorite flannel, the one she's worn every Friday since
- 12:25Speaker 1: twenty nineteen, wasn't there. Instead, hanging in its place was
- 12:32Speaker 1: a wrinkled hoodie. No, Angie called the flannels gone.
- 12:39Speaker 3: She gasped and said, it's begun.
- 12:41Speaker 1: Apparently every few Halloweens, this spirit of Casper, the casual
- 12:46Speaker 1: Friday ghost roam's the Midwest, stealing flannels that have seen
- 12:52Speaker 1: too many coffee stains in morning show selfies. He's tired
- 12:55Speaker 1: of his same old flannel. He wants some variety, big
- 13:00Speaker 1: ninety eight point seven, that's right. Desperately, Angie searched every drawer,
- 13:04Speaker 1: the laundry basket, nothing, back seat of the truck, back
- 13:08Speaker 1: seat of the car, nothing, Just a bunch of dog
- 13:12Speaker 1: hair in French fries. Then finally she heard a whisper
- 13:18Speaker 1: through the vents.
- 13:20Speaker 3: Try the dryer, Angie.
- 13:23Speaker 1: And there it was this warm, wrinkled, static, clinging flannel
- 13:27Speaker 1: that she loves. So next Friday, if you feel a chill,
- 13:32Speaker 1: If you feel a chill or hear a faint through
- 13:38Speaker 1: the vents, just remember it's not a ghost. It is
- 13:43Speaker 1: just your flannel begging to be worn. And if you
- 13:46Speaker 1: don't wear it well, Casper the casual Friday Ghost, he
- 13:51Speaker 1: might just snatch it up.
