- 0:00This is Will Montgomery, former Washington Redskins centers.
- 0:04Y'all what's good, folks? This is Trey Johnson, the head
- 0:07banger. Y'all, and you're listening to
- 0:09Mess Hall with rally captain and Tailgate Ted Bird.
- 0:14What's going on? Rally?
- 0:15How you doing man? Ted, man, I'm, I'm yo, I'm good
- 0:18man. You know, football is back pads.
- 0:22They're hearing the crunch. I wasn't there to hear it, but I
- 0:25understand you were there. And I I hear a little bit of a
- 0:28cold. From you, you, you okay, bro.
- 0:31I'm hanging in there, man. I'm hanging in there.
- 0:33I'm fighting through something right now, but glad that I, I
- 0:37was able to get some medicine for it and just trying to make
- 0:40it through. But you know what cures it is a
- 0:42little bit of football. Let's jump into it.
- 0:45Football cures it all. Let's get it.
- 0:46It does, man. It does.
- 0:48I was actually in line at about 6:55 this morning.
- 0:52Right. And.
- 0:54By the way, you said, you said, you said a line at 6:55, at
- 0:596:55, man. And there were some old school
- 1:03fans. Rodney was there.
- 1:04He was behind me. I took a picture of the line,
- 1:06everything else, and there was one guy that was chatting about
- 1:09it. And we're kind of going back and
- 1:11forth, and I'm barely awake at this time, right?
- 1:14Because I got up at 2:30 in the morning to watch the Women's
- 1:18World Cup game. I don't know why I went to
- 1:20sleep. I should have just stayed awake.
- 1:22But I went to bed at like 9 and got up at 2:30 to watch the game
- 1:27and shocker, it was a soccer game.
- 1:29And guess what the score was? Well, because it's soccer, it
- 1:33tells me it's going to be low. How low was it, brother?
- 1:3800, that's low. So yeah, I I woke up for
- 1:43nothing. The women's team advance if they
- 1:46lost and they wouldn't have made it to the knockout stage and I'm
- 1:49a fan of soccer and you know I'm trying to support the US blah
- 1:52blah blah. And I'm barely awake because I
- 1:56forgot to have my Don't Sleep energy this morning.
- 1:59Right? So I'm sitting out here at camp
- 2:01and some of the fans, oh, trust me, it's driving me crazy.
- 2:05I I had one the second I got back home, but some of the fans
- 2:09were talking about like old school and RFK and what the new
- 2:14stadium needs. And yes, man, we're debating
- 2:17football at 6:50 in the morning in line in Ashburn.
- 2:23That's how beautiful a day it is right now.
- 2:25I'm still scratching my head of the fact that you said there was
- 2:28a line, man. I mean, I can't think of the
- 2:31last time that I was at camp, obviously, besides last week,
- 2:36but there was actually a line. I think the last time I saw a
- 2:39line was in Richmond, bro, when it was Fan Appreciation Day in
- 2:43Richmond and the like the last year that they had it.
- 2:47That's the last time I've seen a line.
- 2:50The appreciation day is always packed and I know you didn't
- 2:53make it out on that Saturday and there was no way in the world I
- 2:56was going to make it out on Saturday because I had passes, I
- 3:01was available. Mrs. Tailgate wouldn't have
- 3:03cared, but I did not want to deal with that sea of Burgundy
- 3:07and gold out there. You and I are opposite in that,
- 3:11like, I love our fans and the fan base, but I'm there to watch
- 3:16practice. I'm not there to take pictures
- 3:19and hang out and chat with people in just 10,000 plus
- 3:24people in Ashburn on a Saturday in 100 degree heat.
- 3:31Hats off to all those diehards, man.
- 3:33My hat goes off to you too. And if I didn't have to work, I
- 3:36would have been right there, man.
- 3:38I really would have been. Because you're right.
- 3:40That is what I love to do. I love to be in the middle of
- 3:44our fan base. Trying to get them pumped up,
- 3:47Taking pictures, kissing babies, signing autographs.
- 3:49I love all that stuff, man. That's that to me is what it's
- 3:52all about. And but hey, man, duty calls.
- 3:56And so you got to take care of who takes care of you first.
- 4:00Well, that's why you're the rally captain, though, man.
- 4:01It's because you love being in front of all those people and
- 4:03doing all that stuff. Yeah, yeah.
- 4:05I enjoy rallying out our crowd together, our fans together,
- 4:09man. I really do.
- 4:10But you mentioned something. About how many hours did you say
- 4:13you got? It was maybe 2 1/2 hours of
- 4:17sleep because I've got this cold and I've been coughing all that
- 4:20long and just haven't been feeling too hot.
- 4:22So thank God. I got back from practice at
- 4:26about 12:45 and the first thing I did when I walked through the
- 4:30door, I didn't bother petting my dog or saying hi to a cat.
- 4:34I just ran right to the fridge for it.
- 4:36Don't sleep energy because I was dragging today.
- 4:40Well, here's the thing. We know how good it tastes.
- 4:43I don't think our listeners know how good it tastes.
- 4:44And if by chance you're interested in how good don't
- 4:48sleep tastes, DMV Mess Hall is offering a 10% discount.
- 4:52So you go to Don't Sleep Energy, put in DMV Mess Hall, you'll get
- 4:57a 10% discount and help them help you stay up.
- 5:04So it works for us, so it works for us.
- 5:06You know it's gonna work for you.
- 5:07And take advantage of that code that DMV mess hall code.
- 5:11And you'll be happy you did, man.
- 5:13How about this, man? Let's just say the 4th listener
- 5:20that sends us a screenshot of their order.
- 5:25I'll give them two tickets to the Ravens preseason game that
- 5:28Monday night. You guys, listen, the 4th
- 5:31listener, I don't want to give it to the first person because I
- 5:32feel this kind of cheating. So the 4th person that's
- 5:36listening that sends us a screenshot of their order, not
- 5:40going onto the website and not hitting submit their actual
- 5:43order. You get to sit with me for the
- 5:46preseason game. Oh man, Okay.
- 5:49Well, let me go ahead and order. Can I play?
- 5:52No, man. If you know it's like employees
- 5:54and friends and family, don't call the phone, you know.
- 5:55How it is, man. Okay.
- 5:57All right. If you got better seats than me,
- 5:58what are you talking about? So they say, I don't know, you
- 6:03know, some people say they can't stand that that view.
- 6:05So hey you know the the beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
- 6:09That is true. I I don't mind the end zone view
- 6:12but I prefer sideline personally.
- 6:14But hey, it's at each zone. But couple things I did see from
- 6:20the sideline and have been hearing about is Cam Curl
- 6:23balling out and that, yeah, that young man, 2 interceptions so
- 6:30far this camp. And Emmanuel Forbes had another
- 6:33on how this past Saturday, from everything I was hearing,
- 6:37offense didn't do too well on Saturday and it's kind of a
- 6:41recurring theme and I'll get into what I saw today.
- 6:44And for those wondering, it's Tuesday, August 1st at 5:15.
- 6:48But Cam is doing Cam Curl things.
- 6:52I mean, he is playing, he's balling.
- 6:54And all we've been hearing is at least beforehand, what are they
- 6:59going to do about Cam's contract?
- 7:01Well, Ron was talking about it before.
- 7:04We had to wait till the new ownership group came on board.
- 7:06We're not going to handle any contract extension, do anything
- 7:09with the players. Well, the new ownership group
- 7:12came on board. What was it, July 20th?
- 7:15I mean, it's a couple of days now.
- 7:18They got some stuff underneath the belt.
- 7:20You would think that this is something that they would
- 7:22tackle. But this is actually what Ron
- 7:24said about a contract extension. To the point of business as
- 7:28usual, you did say, though. Back in somewhere earlier in the
- 7:32spring that things were kind of on hold until the ownership
- 7:34situation came to be. What's the sort of, I know this
- 7:38all just happened, but what's sort of the status now with
- 7:40moving forward with whatever business you had including
- 7:42extensions possible? For right.
- 7:43Well, the biggest thing is you know we've had an opportunity to
- 7:45to to meet you know myself with Mr. Harrison more so anything
- 7:48else we really discussed philosophy mine and and and and
- 7:52what his and the. And the ownership group was
- 7:55going to be about supporting us and being there for us, trying
- 7:58to give us the tools that we need to to to go out and play
- 8:02good football when when winning football.
- 8:05That was probably the the thing that I really appreciated was
- 8:07was having that conversation and just hearing you know their
- 8:10commitment to to to trying to do the best they can to to bring
- 8:13back to this area, You know a sense of pride in this
- 8:18organization. And and that was probably one of
- 8:20the really. Good things that I really
- 8:22appreciated in our first conversation and then you know
- 8:25we plan to have more conversations.
- 8:27We talked about the more intricate things of of of our
- 8:30job and that would be you know as you mentioned you know some
- 8:33of the extensions, some of the titles about players, the
- 8:36future, all that kind of stuff is still conversations that we
- 8:39are we we still need to have. I mean there's still a lot of
- 8:42work to do, but obviously the the, the thing that was stressed
- 8:45to me from from Mr. Harris and and some of his other partners.
- 8:48Was this is about, you know, job one and that's putting together
- 8:51a winning football team. So are you concerned because job
- 8:57one's putting together a winning football team?
- 9:00Cam Curl is a top talent in the NFL and they have not to my
- 9:08knowledge and the media asked him about it.
- 9:10I've actually got that clip here in a second.
- 9:12They have not offered him an extension and yes, he's under
- 9:16contract, so technically they don't need to.
- 9:18But much like Terry, you don't want this young man to hit the
- 9:21open market because then you're going to get into a bidding war
- 9:24for his services. And we all know how Cam's dad
- 9:27likes to tweet and put stuff out there saying his son's got to
- 9:30get paid. Are you surprised that the new
- 9:32group being on board for, what is it, 12 days now?
- 9:36They haven't done anything about the contract.
- 9:41Yes and no. And I always say that.
- 9:47As a fan, we really don't know what's being said behind the
- 9:50scenes. So they realistically could have
- 9:53pulled Cam to the side and said, hey, we're going to take care of
- 9:56you, but we got to take care of some other things first.
- 9:59They could say that or maybe they couldn't or maybe they
- 10:02could have given them the little wink.
- 10:03We all know that, little wink that, you know what I mean?
- 10:06So they've got a lot. Of things to conquer here.
- 10:10And so in a little bit of time to get it done.
- 10:13So I'm going to say, and that's just just me being rally
- 10:16captain, that something tells me that that they've talked to him
- 10:21on the side and hey, just go out and do what you got to do and
- 10:24we'll take care of you. That's what I feel.
- 10:28I hope that's true. I hope they've mentioned
- 10:30something to him. I mean, you got to kind of
- 10:33wonder as a player, do you put yourself out there?
- 10:36Because remember during OTA's and mini camp, he wasn't really
- 10:40doing anything. He was just showing up, being
- 10:43with his teammates, kind of hanging out, but he wasn't
- 10:46actually practicing. So I was curious to see once you
- 10:49got pads on, once you know the reps are live at that point, is
- 10:53he actually going to be out there?
- 10:54And good news is he is. He's not trying to hold out or
- 10:57do anything crazy like that. And he's, you know, playing and
- 11:01letting his place speak for itself.
- 11:02And he has two interceptions so far, and Doc Walker talked about
- 11:06this on his show this past weekend.
- 11:08Like fans shouldn't read too much into interceptions because
- 11:13it's the quarterbacks trying to do things that they wouldn't do
- 11:17in a game. They're trying to fit that ball
- 11:20in there in that window to see if they possibly can so.
- 11:24To see if to see if it could be done.
- 11:27If you're seeing them throw a bunch of pics or hearing about
- 11:30it in the media, don't jump off a bridge and start freaking out.
- 11:35The Sky's not falling. We want them to throw
- 11:37interceptions now. We don't want them to throw
- 11:39interceptions when they count during the season and the
- 11:42defense gets paid too. And I'm just glad to see
- 11:46personally that it's Cam that's actually making those plays
- 11:50because I'm hoping it's just more kind of ammo for him to go
- 11:56back and say, hey, see, you know, coaches looking at that
- 11:58tape have his agent pull that clip because the commanders are
- 12:04sharing that video from their social media team of Cam picking
- 12:08those things off. If I'm Cam's agent, I'm sending
- 12:11that video straight back to the GM, back to the Marty's and
- 12:15saying, hey, hey, my guy. But this is actually what Cam
- 12:18said about his contract. I'm just going to be direct with
- 12:22it. How much do you think about your
- 12:23contract? I'd be thinking about getting
- 12:26picks like I did today. Does it?
- 12:29Is that something that's just kind of?
- 12:31At this point you focus on football, Worry about that when
- 12:33it comes up. If you I'm focused on football,
- 12:35I'm here then 12 hours a day. So that's what I'm focused on.
- 12:39I ain't got time to think of nothing else.
- 12:43Smart man, Yeah, and I love hearing that from a young man.
- 12:46He's just focused on football. Yeah, I think.
- 12:49I think Deron has laid the blueprint on how to get paid in
- 12:53this organization. Don't pout, don't.
- 12:56Don't hold out. Go out there, ball out, and reap
- 13:00your rewards. And his reward is coming soon.
- 13:03We all know that it is. And they'd be a fool not to
- 13:07unless they just feel that that deep in the backfield that they
- 13:10can do it, which we know they're not.
- 13:12So as I said, it's just been 12 days.
- 13:16And the other thing is this, as you said, we've got them under
- 13:20contract, but the more film you put out, the more people going
- 13:25to be interested in him if something happens.
- 13:28And So what we don't want to do is we don't want to have
- 13:31somebody knocking on the door, even giving him an inclination
- 13:35that he's not needed or wanted, because then you're human, You
- 13:41will start to pout, you will start to do all this type of
- 13:43stuff. But hopefully he doesn't.
- 13:46And he continues to, as he says, concentrate on football because
- 13:50he's got 12 hours to think about it and do it well.
- 13:53I mean, we're in this situation right now with Montez Sweat.
- 13:56I wish I was young. They didn't offer those young
- 13:58men extensions and they didn't take up 50 year options and now
- 14:02those guys are going to ball out and you can't franchise tag both
- 14:06of them. So the question is going to be,
- 14:09you know, as a player, you know Montez Montez isn't from here
- 14:13just comparing him and Chase. Chase is from here hometown guy.
- 14:18You know, would you want to play in your hometown?
- 14:20John Allen's playing in his own hometown.
- 14:22There's so there's a dollar amount that you can kind of
- 14:25associate with that. So he might give them a hometown
- 14:28discount. Montez, if I'm Montez and
- 14:31Montez's agent, that young man is going to free agency unless
- 14:36you franchise tag him because defensive ends get paid in the
- 14:40NFL sacks cell. So we've kind of lost our boat
- 14:46there and they yes, they can make an offer that he can't
- 14:48refuse. But now we're going to be
- 14:50bidding against everybody else. And the only reason why I bring
- 14:53that up is I don't want to do that with Cam Curl because he's
- 14:58a seventh round pick and you can afford to pay him now because
- 15:02the contract wouldn't come into effect until next year because
- 15:05it's an extension and next year they're going to have or once
- 15:08it's closed down, maybe close to $80 million free and cap spaced.
- 15:12So they had the luxury to do it. I would just kind of hope that
- 15:16you know, a magic come back from your yacht, come hang out, you
- 15:21know, whoever, whoever needs to sign the check, man.
- 15:23Like I know the Mubadala Opens happening and I know that one of
- 15:26the owners is involved in all that.
- 15:28I'm supposed to go to tennis tournament tomorrow.
- 15:30The team gave me a couple tickets.
- 15:32But you know, actually, if you want to go, I'll hit you up
- 15:34after this. But you know, let's stop at the
- 15:38tennis for right now and let's focus on the football and let's
- 15:40take care of some of the stuff and have someone sign that check
- 15:42so we can get this young man locked up.
- 15:44Right. It it it'll make him feel better
- 15:46and and deep down inside it'll make the owners and the coaches
- 15:50feel better as well and the fan base.
- 15:54I don't even think that the fan base really would would feel.
- 16:01That good or bad to be honest with you, I I I really don't.
- 16:05I think it when it comes down to it, it's more so on him and how
- 16:10he feels that he's treated. You know because the fan base,
- 16:13let's face it, we we don't play, we we'll say all man, why that?
- 16:17Why didn't they do it? But we go to the next to the
- 16:20next thing. Whereas for him it's deep seated
- 16:24bro. He's the one that's putting his
- 16:25body on the line. So that's why I say it's more to
- 16:28him than it is to the fan base. No, he's he's definitely put his
- 16:31body on the line. We saw how Joe Burrow went down
- 16:34first day of practice and they had to take him off on the cart
- 16:38and thank goodness for their sake.
- 16:40It's nothing serious. But you know, I don't understand
- 16:45how the NFLPA hasn't negotiated this, but football contracts are
- 16:50not fully guaranteed and that's why Lamar Jackson was holding
- 16:54out for the longest time trying to get that guaranteed contract
- 16:56and these young men are going out there playing.
- 16:59I want to say probably about, I'd say out of your major
- 17:03sports, your baseball, basketball, hockey, football,
- 17:06out of the top four sports, football is the most dangerous,
- 17:11the most famous sport out of all of it.
- 17:14But yet their contracts are not guaranteed and they need to do
- 17:19something about this during the next collective bargaining
- 17:21agreement because the owners are making money handed fist.
- 17:24But these players, they're being used as commodities.
- 17:28This whole running back argument right now where the running back
- 17:30position is being devalued and what the Colts and Jim Ursa are
- 17:35doing to Jonathan Taylor over there and basically treating him
- 17:37like his garbage even though he had 1800 yards with it, I mean,
- 17:41it's just a disservice of these players and your average NFL
- 17:44career. I want to say it's three years.
- 17:48That's not a long time. If you're lucky.
- 17:53If you're if you're lucky and I'm just I'm an advocate for the
- 17:57players. I, I they are doing us a service
- 18:01as fans and I want to see the ones that deserve it to be
- 18:03rewarded for it. You know, not the Carson Wentz
- 18:06who made $28 million for nothing, but these guys that
- 18:10have never had a true payday. That's why I think a lot of fans
- 18:14fell in love with Terry so much because he was a third round
- 18:16pick, not a first round pick. But he is outperformed a bunch
- 18:20of people that were drafted ahead of him.
- 18:22You know, to me, that's also the same way why people love Cam.
- 18:26You know, it's a lot of people just, he's just crushed him in
- 18:30performance numbers. Exactly.
- 18:32And he deserves it. So that's that's the biggest
- 18:36thing we always talk about. You know, growing up, you do
- 18:39good things, you'd be rewarded for those good things.
- 18:42And so the the time has come for us to reward him or the not us
- 18:47but the team per se. It's time for the team to reward
- 18:51him and give him a contract. Yeah, it is, but what?
- 18:55We're beating this one down. But you do good things, you get
- 18:58rewarded, you do bad things and unfortunately karma comes for
- 19:03you and it usually doesn't work out well And it's been in the
- 19:06news if you're not around here and we've got listeners all over
- 19:09the place. Still props a Tim Meek from Indy
- 19:13for joining us on our show last week live from Los Rhino.
- 19:17We've got listeners in Spain still don't understand how we
- 19:19do, but I'm not going to complain.
- 19:21But if you're not in the DMV, you're probably not hearing all
- 19:25the news about Jayman Davis. So how much have you been caught
- 19:30up on all this? Basically in a nutshell this is
- 19:34his third offense if you will for for for driving fast.
- 19:40Well, when I say third offense two, this is the second reckless
- 19:43driving. But this is his third meaning
- 19:45that he was with the Shades effort when they were they were
- 19:51speeding. He wasn't with Shades when they
- 19:53were sleeping. He he was there.
- 19:56He he was there so so okay you. But it happened.
- 20:00Yes. Yeah, he he was basically there
- 20:04and so he understands how speed can kill so literally and it's
- 20:13it's it's one of those things to where we all were young and dumb
- 20:17and unfortunately that's what this is a case of.
- 20:20I I hate to say it because. I was at 24 years old riding my,
- 20:26my Suzuki at triple digits that I mean and I got caught once I
- 20:32got a reckless driving ticket and it it it changed me and I
- 20:37slowed that down. So you would think though that
- 20:40after the first one that you know, you, you slow down a
- 20:44little bit, but going as fast as he was going, I mean, Ted, man,
- 20:49as only I can talk it up to, is, is, is young, dumb.
- 20:54And that's all I'll say about that.
- 20:55Just young and dumb, man, yeah. And to catch our listeners up
- 20:59that aren't familiar with what's going on, Jamin Davis, you know
- 21:03we've talked about my ton on the show, 19th overall pick in the
- 21:07draft, my opinion overdrafted Lake Lewis mentioned.
- 21:12We talked about it with him. If you haven't had a chance, go
- 21:14back and check out that pod, because we cut the last one up
- 21:16into three. How he got burned by Jared
- 21:19Patterson during practice last week.
- 21:21But hey, it was just one point. That's fine.
- 21:23But Jaymon wasn't at practice on Monday because he was in a
- 21:26Fairfax counter. Actually, I think it was a
- 21:27Loudon County circuit, yeah. So back on March 28th 2022, at
- 21:341:00 o'clock in the afternoon. Not 1:00 o'clock in the morning,
- 21:381:00 O'clock in the afternoon. He was cited for driving his
- 21:43McLaren 114 miles an hour. In a 45 mile an hour zone.
- 21:51So you often hear stories about athletes speeding, but usually
- 21:56it's in the middle of the night because they were out and doing
- 21:58dumb stuff. And, you know, hopefully there
- 22:00aren't as many people around that could get injured.
- 22:03This is 1:00 o'clock in the afternoon and he's going triple
- 22:07figures. I got pulled over in high school
- 22:10going, I want to say it was 80 and 55.
- 22:14And yeah, I mean. I got charged with reckless
- 22:16driving. I also got charged with evading
- 22:18arrest because I didn't pull over, because I was listening to
- 22:20a Bone Thugs and Harmony song that had a siren going on in the
- 22:23background. And I didn't realize that there
- 22:25was a cop behind me. But that's a story for an in
- 22:27person pod, and we're worried about that.
- 22:29And that charge got dropped. I didn't get it.
- 22:33But Jayman pleaded not guilty, right?
- 22:36So the judge found him guilty. He was sentenced to 30 days in
- 22:41jail and fine, and his license was suspended.
- 22:44Well. They had an appeal.
- 22:47They asked for an actual jury trial and then they decided not
- 22:51to do that. They did a plea deal with the
- 22:54prosecutor. I had to do the same thing for
- 22:57my reckless driving charge and they dropped it to improper
- 23:00driving. So they went back on this plea
- 23:05deal and said, you know what, we'll do 8 days in jail.
- 23:10The judge threw it out, said no, I'm not accepting your plea
- 23:14deal. So Jamie now has to go back to
- 23:18court this Thursday and we'll see what the judge decides to do
- 23:25and what's so frustrating about this.
- 23:27And you mentioned it earlier, he was previously charged with
- 23:30reckless driving. He was going 89 and a 65 back on
- 23:34December 19th, 2021. You can do that easily.
- 23:38The guy's got a McLaren, you accidentally sneeze and you push
- 23:43down that pedal. The next thing you know, you're
- 23:44going to Hunter. I get that.
- 23:46But that was in a 65 mile an hour zone, so they reduced it
- 23:51and didn't throw the book out. But because he did that before,
- 23:54he's now got a track record. And just like you said earlier
- 23:58about the hold, the Shazer, everything, you know, you would
- 24:00think that he would have learned.
- 24:02And it's just such an unfortunate thing where the
- 24:04Shazer lost his fiance to that horrible, tragic accident.
- 24:08And it's somewhat, you know it, it really affected this team.
- 24:12And he was there. When that happened.
- 24:14He was up to this young man. And this is what Rivera when he
- 24:18was trying to defend the jamming pic, he talked about how he was
- 24:22from a military family and how he's kind of, I'm paraphrasing,
- 24:26but a good head on his shoulders and as a leader.
- 24:29But he's making these dumb mistakes.
- 24:31This was just a flat out idiotic mistake that he potentially
- 24:35could go to jail for a I think we're going to say the maximum
- 24:40is a year as a misdemeanor. But they were going to give him
- 24:4530 days. So I would say, you know, he
- 24:47could potentially go to jail for 30 days was the original finding
- 24:50by the judge. Yeah.
- 24:52And the and The thing is I have to be honest with you.
- 24:58I've seen plenty of cases in court where what he should have
- 25:03done in all honesty is take the 8 days when you when you when
- 25:07you really think about the severity of it and it may not
- 25:11even been 8 back-to-back type of days.
- 25:14You know he took that real quick.
- 25:16Yeah. He the plea deal that he took
- 25:19with the prosecutor was for eight days.
- 25:23The judge didn't agree to the sentence.
- 25:25The judge said no, I'm not letting you do that.
- 25:28So he know the judge wants them to do the whole thing then, it
- 25:31sounds like. We don't know if he wants to do
- 25:33the whole thing, but the judge wants them to do more than 8
- 25:35days. Yeah, because he probably
- 25:37figures that he won't learn, especially with the amount of
- 25:42money that he's making. You know, cuz we'll just bat
- 25:46your eye at it and say okay, yeah, whatever Judge.
- 25:49But what I was gonna say is the good thing about these, these
- 25:52these new jail sentences that they have is depending on the
- 25:58severity, you don't have to do it all at one stint.
- 26:02You might be able to do a weekend here or a day there or
- 26:06or you know so so there's way they they can break it up to
- 26:09make it more feasible for you. Now is the judge a Commanders
- 26:15fan? You know, that's that's, that's
- 26:18that's something. That doesn't sound like it.
- 26:20Or else you want to let him take that plea deal.
- 26:22Because usually when you're talking to the prosecutors.
- 26:27And you come to an agreement. The judge just says Yep.
- 26:29OK, you guys talked about it. Fine.
- 26:31I'll go with your recommendation.
- 26:33But he said. Yeah, and that's the part where
- 26:36it's. And I had a buddy that got
- 26:38pulled over on the GW Parkway. For those of you that don't
- 26:41know, in this area, that's federal land.
- 26:45So he got caught going 100 on the GW Parkway.
- 26:49He had a federal prison on the weekends for I want to say it
- 26:54was 8 months. They let him work during the
- 26:59week because they didn't want to lose his job every weekend.
- 27:03He had to go report and then he would get let out.
- 27:06So he'd go back to work on Monday and have to go back.
- 27:09So those are the things that rally kind of talking about
- 27:11where they can kind of work with you.
- 27:13How concerned are you about this affecting Jamin, the player that
- 27:19we're expecting to line up and be on that first team?
- 27:22D I think that it's going to affect them in a way that he's
- 27:30going to have to put put a barrier in the middle of this
- 27:37football barrier court. If they allow him to be able to
- 27:44to play you know this this judge made like we said throw the book
- 27:48at him and and rightfully so I mean I I'm I'm a fan of of the
- 27:53kid and and I hope that he he he does we all want him to do well
- 27:56but there's some things that you just can't you can't look past
- 28:01and so if he has the opportunity to be able to to play football
- 28:07I'm hoping that that he can switch on and switch off go to
- 28:12go into football mode and then worry about jail later after the
- 28:16the switch is off from football. I don't think it's going to
- 28:20happen though bro. I I really don't.
- 28:23Unless they unless the judge allows him to.
- 28:27The judge allows him to basically after football season.
- 28:30But a lot of times judges don't commute that sentence that long.
- 28:34They they want you to go ahead and start serving immediately.
- 28:37So the good thing is though from what I've seen in the past that
- 28:42a judge will give you a restricted driver's license they
- 28:46where you can go to and from work and and church services
- 28:51that's it you know so so basically he's got to get up in
- 28:54the morning he's got to drive to to Commander's park drive home
- 29:00and if he goes to church or whatever religion he he
- 29:03practices he can go to to worship and that's it.
- 29:07He can't be seen driving. He better not be seen driving.
- 29:10And this is where I think this is where I think the team should
- 29:13step in and say, hey hey bro, you created this, here's your
- 29:17here's your company Uber, that picks you up at XYZZYX.
- 29:21You know what I mean? Well, the NFLPA offers that
- 29:24service to players. That's why it always drives me
- 29:26crazy when you see players getting pulled over for DU I's
- 29:31and stupid things like that because they have very discreet
- 29:35services where all I got to do is call this number.
- 29:38And the commanders, they've got a senior Director of Player
- 29:41development they he was with Jaymon.
- 29:45He's been there helping him through this process.
- 29:49And Rivera sat down with Jaymond to talk about this.
- 29:52Because at first, when I heard about this on the radio, I'm
- 29:56thinking, why are they making a big deal out of this?
- 29:58I got pulled over before, You know, I've had interactions with
- 30:02the law, did stupid stuff. I can't imagine if I was a
- 30:06millionaire at his age. But then when I heard the
- 30:08details of it, like, oh okay, Nikki Javala did a story on the
- 30:14Washington Post and just. I'm thinking to myself, a 45
- 30:20mile an hour zone, 1:00 o'clock in the afternoon.
- 30:23There's kids walking around, there's families around there,
- 30:27right? And you're going 140 miles an
- 30:29hour. It is a blessing that no one was
- 30:32injured and that he did not get hurt or did not hurt someone
- 30:37else. And unfortunately, this is
- 30:39starting to be kind of a epidemic in the NFL.
- 30:42Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison, He was pulled over
- 30:45going 140. And a 55 just earlier this July
- 30:50in his Lamborghini mean he said he was, He said he was trying to
- 30:55get back to his dog. I mean, I've, I've been out way
- 31:01too long with Commander's events and hey, I just had to clean up
- 31:04the mess my dog made, right? You know, I'm not taking the
- 31:08tailgate van up to 3 digits. Granted, I think it would
- 31:11probably shake itself apart, but you know, it's just, it's not
- 31:15what I'm going to do, but. Hollywood Brown got busted with
- 31:18the Cardinals going. I want to say, let's see here.
- 31:22It's a Class 3 misdemeanor. He got caught going for 85 miles
- 31:27an hour, and I don't know what the actual speed limit was, but
- 31:30my concern is this is a problem in the NFL.
- 31:34The NFL might come down on Jamie because a judge is looking to
- 31:38come down on Jamie, and then at that point it's going to be
- 31:43what? Cody Barton and David Mayo out
- 31:46there instead of Jamin on the field, which brings me to
- 31:51something that that Do you think that they're looking at
- 31:54linebackers now or do you think that they're going to be
- 31:56satisfied with what they have? I don't know if you're ever
- 32:00satisfied with what you have. I think you're always looking to
- 32:03bring players in. They brought in a running back
- 32:05earlier this week. Surprisingly, I know, right?
- 32:08I mean, I no one's nicked up. No one's hurt.
- 32:12All the running backs are there, but they brought a guy in this
- 32:13week. But when I was out of camp today
- 32:16during the drills, Jaymon wasn't playing with the first team.
- 32:20And I'm thinking, is this kind of a a teaching moment that
- 32:25they're trying to put on him or is it more of a reward for the
- 32:29other guys that have been there? Because all day today I'm
- 32:34watching the first team defense. Jaymon was not there with them.
- 32:39And granted we don't run a ton of two linebackers sets but when
- 32:42there were two backers out there, it was Barton and Mayo
- 32:46and Jamie was on the sideline and I think that's because you
- 32:50have to prepare for the worst and why he he understands.
- 32:55The deep isn't hadn't changed. He understands his role, what he
- 32:58needs to do. But if by chance he can't be
- 33:01there, who's going to be able to step in.
- 33:03So we need to get this Mayo, these first team reps, we need
- 33:07to, we need to get somebody else, some first team reps to
- 33:10see who who can step in just in case if we need to do this.
- 33:14Because man, for everything that I've seen Ted, it doesn't look
- 33:17good, man. It it really doesn't.
- 33:20And like I said, I don't know how stringent the judge is going
- 33:23to be if he's going to say this must be served now or are they
- 33:27going to let him play out. So get somebody in right now who
- 33:31can learn the plays, learn what you need them to do and and be
- 33:35prepared for the worse. Again, I'm good with that.
- 33:39I'm good with them giving other players reps in that spot.
- 33:44But to me, it's also not about the physical.
- 33:49It's it's the mental. How much is this hanging in his
- 33:52head right now? Because you heard Cam talk about
- 33:55his contract, He's not even focusing on it.
- 33:57He's just focusing on football. How much can Jamin truly focus
- 34:01on football and X's and O's and where he's supposed to be when
- 34:05he knows he's got to go to court?
- 34:08On Thursday, today was the first full day of pads, right?
- 34:11And to me, in my mind and granted, you know, I'm not a
- 34:14football player. You know, I tried to play one
- 34:16and say the Holiday Inn once but didn't work out.
- 34:18But knowing you got to go to court and that judge said no,
- 34:23you're playing by my rules not the ones that you tried to make
- 34:26up. I I'd be not thinking about uh
- 34:32oh am I supposed to go follow Antonio Gibson out the backfield
- 34:35right now? I'd be kind of worried about.
- 34:37Uh, oh, I don't want to drop the soap.
- 34:39Oh no, not drop the soap. But it's the county.
- 34:42Ain't that bad. Well, well, well.
- 34:44Getting back to what you said about Cam, cruel.
- 34:46Let's let's face it. Cam is answering the questions,
- 34:49textbook style, the way he's supposed to answer, but in the
- 34:52back of his mind, he's worried about his contract.
- 34:54I don't care what anybody says, it's just, it's just something
- 34:57that you worry about until you get compensated for it.
- 35:01So and and Jamie is going to be no different and I agree with
- 35:05you. You know can he separate.
- 35:08And that's why I said he's got to have that bookmark in the
- 35:10middle. NFL on the left, football on the
- 35:13right, you know, I'm sorry NFL football on the left, bookmark
- 35:19court case on the right. He's got to be able to separate.
- 35:21He has to. No different than anybody else
- 35:24who has anything going on in life.
- 35:27Whether you broke up with your girlfriend or or you know,
- 35:29family members, whatever have you.
- 35:31We all live a complex life and we've got to bear to separate
- 35:34the two. So The thing is, if he can't
- 35:38separate the two, then you truly have have peeled back another
- 35:42layer of the onion and you may not be able to trust him the way
- 35:46that you think that you could. Yeah, Doc Walker actually
- 35:50mentioned it. And I've listened to Doc a lot.
- 35:53And demic because they tell it like it is.
- 35:56And he said, as a young man, I don't know if I can trust him to
- 36:00Coldplay for my defense. You know, he just did something
- 36:04so boatheaded like that. And I don't want to keep piling
- 36:07on the young man. And I hope that this works out
- 36:10for him. And I really, at this point, I
- 36:13don't care about how he does on the field.
- 36:17I want him to get this settled and handled.
- 36:19So it's not distracting for everybody else.
- 36:21And I've listened to the press conferences today.
- 36:24And no one brought it up, no one asked any questions about it.
- 36:28So it's not becoming a distraction, at least that we
- 36:31can see. But it is noticeable when the
- 36:3619th pick in the draft is sitting on the sideline, when
- 36:42you're running goal line, when you've got multiple linebackers
- 36:45in there. It is noticeable when that young
- 36:47man should be playing and he's got a guy that is starting over
- 36:51him right now that does not have.
- 36:54The talent and the higher ceiling that Jaymon has, because
- 36:58when Jaymon knows what he's supposed to do, we saw him wreck
- 37:01shop last year. But he is missing important reps
- 37:06and I need him to get all this stuff taken care of so he can
- 37:10get back out there and get those reps that he desperately needs.
- 37:14Because when he is lost, he's like a deer in headlights and
- 37:18we've seen that we we've seen him go from Clay Doe to
- 37:24something that's molded and right now I'm hoping that he's
- 37:28not going back to the doughy aspect of things.
- 37:31So but like you said, the only way you you learn as you
- 37:34continue to do and the the good thing is he's got two years
- 37:37under his belt and so when the time comes for that play to be
- 37:42called, he knows where he should go.
- 37:44I'm hoping my fingers are crossed, but that's the way that
- 37:46it is. But nothing can take away from
- 37:49you from actually doing. Reps.
- 37:53I mean, you talk about mental reps, but physical reps actually
- 37:55being out there, there's nothing beats at.
- 37:57And that's really why I wanted to be at camp today, was to see
- 38:01how these guys handle the physical reps with pads on.
- 38:06I wanted to see 11 on 11 just guys going at each other.
- 38:11There were almost a couple of fights today with the offensive
- 38:14lineman. I mean, if you guys want to go
- 38:16out to camp, try and time it when they're going to be in
- 38:20pads, because they did. A couple of sets of 11 on 11,
- 38:24but shockingly enough, the first round of 11 on 11.
- 38:28It was the second team offense versus the first team defense.
- 38:33Where were we Second team offense?
- 38:36You heard me so So what did the first?
- 38:38Obviously when the second team is in, that means that the first
- 38:41team be it something. So what did the first team do
- 38:43wrong? First team, they didn't do
- 38:45anything wrong, they were just letting them go first.
- 38:49So. There's a clock in the end zone
- 38:52for those one listeners that haven't been a camp with a
- 38:54scoreboard. That's saying, OK, you know, the
- 38:56timer goes off. They're switching to this next
- 38:58drill, this next part of training camp.
- 39:01Well, it's that next part. They're getting ready for 11 or
- 39:0411. So I'm sitting up high and I'm
- 39:07just, I'm itching, man. I can't wait to watch some
- 39:09people actually hit. Let's see what we can do.
- 39:12Well, Jacoby Brissette comes out thinking, all right, what's
- 39:16what's going on here? What's Brissette doing with the
- 39:18ball? Then I realized that it wasn't
- 39:21just Berset. It was all the second team
- 39:23backups because I got worried for a second of that.
- 39:26Berset was taking snaps with the ones that wasn't what was
- 39:29happening. The second team O was going
- 39:32against the first team D to see what they could do, I guess,
- 39:36which from my standpoint didn't really make any sense.
- 39:40This is your first time to get a look at these guys with pads on.
- 39:44Why are you having the first team defense go easy?
- 39:48But then they finished. The first team offense came on.
- 39:54Guess who came on for the defense.
- 39:58Second team defense came out. So they wanted the first team
- 40:03offense. And remember, iron sharpens
- 40:06iron, right? Fred keeps talking.
- 40:07Everyone keeps talking about it. They wanted their starters to go
- 40:11against the backups. And I just.
- 40:15I don't get it. I don't understand what Rivera
- 40:18was trying to do other than we've talked about it in the
- 40:22past. They have had to ask the defense
- 40:25to slow down so they can install players.
- 40:28They've has to ask the defense to lay off a little bit so they
- 40:32can get some actual stuff accomplished in practice.
- 40:36Do you think that this is their way of nonchalantly without
- 40:40asking the defense to calm down, giving the offensive chance to
- 40:44actually do something? Never thought about it like
- 40:47that, but if you can see me, you see my arms are crossed and I
- 40:52liking it. But then again, I believe that
- 40:56there's a reason for everything, and right now I may not be able
- 40:58to put my finger on why they're doing what they're doing so.
- 41:04Are they they're in two days, correct or no, The second-half
- 41:08of the day just walk through. They're not really hitting and
- 41:11going crazy. Okay.
- 41:12Well, what I was going to say is maybe, just maybe they don't
- 41:17want the fans to see what they're doing right now and
- 41:22there's a way that you can do what you what you said to kind
- 41:26of shadow things a little bit. That's what I'm my take.
- 41:31I could be wrong. I've been wrong plenty of times,
- 41:33but. I know fans are recording
- 41:36because fans can record even though they ask you not to.
- 41:40Right. You're not supposed to.
- 41:41But we know that fans are going to record.
- 41:43They just are. So why am I going to let you
- 41:47actually see what I'm doing? Because, hey, you could have on
- 41:51the Commander's shirt, but beef for the Buffalo Bills or the
- 41:55Eagles or the Cowboys or or whomever.
- 41:57So maybe it's just a way that they can continue to, you know?
- 42:03Camouflage things just a little bit more until the fans aren't,
- 42:07can't be around and then break out the plays that they need to
- 42:11break out. So that's what I'm going to say.
- 42:14I hear you and it it makes sense.
- 42:17I think you're giving them too much credit because they were,
- 42:21they didn't have fans of practice on Monday right there.
- 42:23There were no fans there. So have fans of practice on
- 42:27Monday and then don't have fans of practice on Tuesday for your
- 42:30first day in pads. Rivera said that he wished it
- 42:34was hotter out there so he could see his guys kind of sweat more
- 42:38and go through the reps more. But this is actually what he
- 42:41said about the ones versus twos during practice today with with
- 42:46some of the stuff you had a lot of the like second offense with
- 42:49against the #1DS, first O against the number 2D.
- 42:53What's the thought process behind that?
- 42:54Well, because some of those guys may have to play, you know what
- 42:57I'm saying? It's, it's, it's it's good for
- 42:59the. For the for the twos to get an
- 43:01opportunity to play against those guys, not just when
- 43:03somebody gets nicked, but as part of a group and as a unit.
- 43:06We wanted to see the guys that were working together go against
- 43:09another group and so it's something you you should do when
- 43:11you get out there every now and then, it's just every now and
- 43:13then too. OK, so how about this?
- 43:20Maybe you maybe you weren't getting the look that you
- 43:25thought that you would need from your ones.
- 43:28So you needed to see how your twos actually would work,
- 43:32because somebody may not be cutting the mustard on the ones.
- 43:36You ever think about that you don't demote an entire group of
- 43:41people. You take that guy out, it's like
- 43:45you've seen Drumline, right? Yeah, and he challenges the guy
- 43:49at Drumline for his spot, and dude loses his spot.
- 43:53Like, you don't challenge the entire horn section.
- 43:56You challenge that dude at that point.
- 43:58And I don't believe Ron. I think Ron is full of S when it
- 44:02comes to this part. Because they were doing goal
- 44:05line drills, right? It's goal line and it's Jacoby
- 44:09Burset and the second team versus the first team defense.
- 44:13Burset was scoring touchdowns against our first team defense,
- 44:17No problem. Our first team offense, going
- 44:21against the second team defense, same goal line stuffed three
- 44:26times in a row, could not go anywhere and they keep talking
- 44:30about, well, we haven't been doing any run plays because the
- 44:33guys haven't had pads on them. You got pads on today, you got
- 44:36to go 2 yards. It's goal line.
- 44:39You're not going against your first round draft picks.
- 44:41You're not going against your stunts.
- 44:43John Allen ain't in there. Drum painting in there.
- 44:46Granted, Phil Mathis is still a a beast of a man.
- 44:49Same with Ridgeway and the other guys, but it's still not these.
- 44:52John Allen's what top 50 and some NFL list that just came
- 44:55out. You're going against backups and
- 44:58your first team offense at the two yard line could not get in.
- 45:01And when they finally got in, it was a gimmick play that the
- 45:06enemy called and it was a shovel pass to Logan Thomas.
- 45:11It's just alarming. I'm I'm telling you, I I believe
- 45:17what what better way to show what you can do what a younger
- 45:22person can do on the second team, going against the first
- 45:26team. Because for the most part, what
- 45:29it tells me is you, you've kind of already got an idea of what
- 45:32your first team can do. But now let me see what my
- 45:35second team can do against my first team.
- 45:37And if I have a standout on that second team, I can promote them
- 45:41to my first team. That's what it tells me.
- 45:44I mean that. That's what it tells me, bro.
- 45:46Like I said, I could be wrong. But if you can, if you can go
- 45:50against that, if you can, go against that first teamer and
- 45:54and show improve. And give me a, give me, let me,
- 45:58let me put a star on your helmet.
- 46:00Then I know them to look out for you because at the end of the
- 46:03day, everybody's fighting for that opportunity to become a
- 46:06one. So mix and match, maybe that's a
- 46:10good idea, man. Mix and match and see where you
- 46:13stand. Because you can always rotate
- 46:16out if if this person doesn't fit the bill the way that you
- 46:19think that they should. Because nothing is guaranteed
- 46:21right now. So let him.
- 46:24Let him fight it out. I'd say for the most part your
- 46:29starters on defense are solidified.
- 46:32I I don't see anybody taking a spot on defense.
- 46:36Correct. You know who everyone's going to
- 46:39be? I'm talking about your offensive
- 46:41line and we've all said that that's a question mark right
- 46:44now. So if if so, so if the so if the
- 46:48line if if the two line can stop the one defense then.
- 46:53I got some gyms over here who maybe I can plug and play to see
- 46:58maybe I can put them in with the ones and and possibly possibly
- 47:03bring somebody from the ones to the twos because that's the only
- 47:06way you're going to find out is to do things like this.
- 47:10The other way is we're going to, we got what, 14 days before we
- 47:14play Baltimore in the joint practice, You're going to find
- 47:18out what you really have going against another colored jersey
- 47:21and someone who's not your friend.
- 47:23So I I look for, that's what I look forward to.
- 47:26I I always tell you, man, you know, and this is going to be a
- 47:29soccer broken record, but I also, I always believe that no
- 47:32matter what, you're going against your buddy and I'm just
- 47:35not going to go as hard against you as I should.
- 47:37I'll make it look good, but I'm not going to go against you as
- 47:40hard as I need to because I'm not trying to hurt you.
- 47:43But give me a a blue jersey or green jersey or I got to go all
- 47:48out then, because that person doesn't care about me.
- 47:54Yeah, now I got you and Lake agreed with you when we you
- 47:57asked him that question for me. I guess it was easier for me to
- 48:00shut it off. Like you're a competitor.
- 48:04You're trying to take food out of my mouth, my family's mouth,
- 48:08I don't care. You're my boy after the fact.
- 48:11But right now we're enemies and ain't nothing personal about it.
- 48:15But when the first team offense did get a chance to go against
- 48:19the first team defense, and granted, this is just a small
- 48:24sample of what happened. First play, fumble.
- 48:29Second play, sack. Third play, incompletion. 4th
- 48:35play, he hit Logan Thomas in the middle, got a couple yards, 5th
- 48:40play, another incompletion down the sideline of Terry off the
- 48:44field. And it's just one day in
- 48:48practice. I get it.
- 48:50Don't hang your head on it. They're struggling against the
- 48:53the second team defense. Then they get a chance to, you
- 48:56know, prove themselves against the big boys.
- 49:00They ain't going to do any better.
- 49:01And that's just what scares me a little bit because everybody is
- 49:07putting all of this on Sam Howe and I just think it's not fair
- 49:13because no one is really the offensive line's not sexy, but
- 49:17this team made it sexy. That's how we won our
- 49:19championships. But no one is really outside of
- 49:23here nationally talking about this offensive line.
- 49:28And that's really what concerns me and what I'm going to
- 49:31constantly go back on. You talk about sound like a
- 49:33broken record. This offensive line terrifies me
- 49:37right now because they could not perform against the twos in goal
- 49:42line. They could not perform against
- 49:44the twos at 11:00 and 11:00. They have pads on.
- 49:47So what's the excuse today? And they damn sure didn't do a
- 49:52do good job against the ones. And it's the first day.
- 49:56So I'm going to go back to camp tomorrow.
- 49:58They're going to be in full pads tomorrow and I want to see Sam
- 50:01Cosby punch somebody in the mouth.
- 50:04We don't have that badass on the offense that's going to talk
- 50:08fast like Chase does on defense. And I feel that we kind of need
- 50:12that energy. And that offense is just a bunch
- 50:15of good dudes. They're like, oh, it's okay,
- 50:17yeah, don't worry, you can tackle me.
- 50:19We need some just beasts in there, man.
- 50:23And you? See, we don't have any dogs.
- 50:25You see how we don't have any dogs too?
- 50:26Not at all, really. I don't know, man, Okay.
- 50:30Well, maybe, maybe they just haven't brought the dog out of
- 50:32them yet. I I think that any NFL player is
- 50:36a dog. You just got to get it out of
- 50:38them. And right now they haven't got
- 50:40it out of them yet. Now when is it going to happen?
- 50:42I don't know. But, but everybody on the team
- 50:46should be Subs. Sort of a dog, bro.
- 50:50So just give it time, man. Give it time.
- 50:54What did? What did Denzel say?
- 50:56It's like Novocaine, give it time.
- 50:57It'll work. And we've got time.
- 51:00We we we we do have time. There is time, but the clock is
- 51:03ticking. My my concern is are there a
- 51:07Chihuahua barking up against the Pitbull and John Allen or you
- 51:11know are they somewhat comparable size Because yes, I I
- 51:17get it man. It's it's early.
- 51:20But Sam Cosney, still he's getting beat by Duran Payne and
- 51:24Duran is one of the best in the league.
- 51:26Right. But the problem is that
- 51:29offensive line we we talked about it last year for rushing
- 51:33is 1 as a defensive line. That offensive line has to be In
- 51:37Sync. They have to block as one, if
- 51:40you will. If Sam has to pass someone off,
- 51:45then they've got to know and have that synchronization
- 51:47between each other, and I'm just not seeing it yet.
- 51:50It is what, day five? I don't even know what day it is
- 51:54Camp was. So it's really early.
- 51:56Yeah, but they only get 9 days, I think, of pads.
- 52:00That's the other part that concerns me.
- 52:03Here's the other thing to that we've that we've got to calm
- 52:07down on. We forget that the defense has
- 52:10an advantage because they already know what.
- 52:14When they go to a certain scheme, they have an idea what
- 52:17they're going to be running because they've been going up
- 52:19against them since April with Mini Camp.
- 52:22So so disagree a little bit in this.
- 52:25Well, you can disagree, but truth is truth. 11 or Elevens.
- 52:29The defense did not know what they were doing.
- 52:31The 11 or Elevens, they did not know.
- 52:34I disagree, bro. They they they've seen it enough
- 52:37to know Now once once we get, we go get somebody else who doesn't
- 52:42know what we're doing. Then I'll be able to say yay or
- 52:45nay. But right now, man, they they're
- 52:47all in the same room. They've been running these same
- 52:50schemes. Even if they're just standing up
- 52:53doing nothing as a body, they know where the play should go,
- 52:58so they have an advantage. They just do so, so, so, so
- 53:02let's calm down a little bit, alright, I get you on the calm
- 53:05down. It's early, but there was also
- 53:08another drill, 9 verse 7, 9 offensive guys, verse 7
- 53:13defensive guys. And they were all run plays.
- 53:17Every single one of them was a run.
- 53:18So yes, the defense knew what was coming, knew what was
- 53:21happening. You're still outnumbering them
- 53:24and you're getting stuffed. So you know, it's just I.
- 53:29Will try to see more. I just want to see more, man.
- 53:33That's all. Because the enemy can scheme up
- 53:35some stuff. He can definitely do that.
- 53:37But the problem is you don't see anything in preseason anymore,
- 53:41man. Starters don't play, not even
- 53:45the vanilla stuff. You just don't get reps and
- 53:48there's one less game now. So yes, I'm.
- 53:52I'm jealous that you're going to be in Baltimore for that actual
- 53:56practice up there. Hopefully it works out because I
- 54:00want to see, well, I want to hear from you.
- 54:04How did R Ones look against them?
- 54:06Because I'm telling you right now, John Harbaugh ain't going
- 54:08to put his twos in against our ones.
- 54:10No, he's gonna, he's gonna go full board the way we're the way
- 54:14you're supposed to. And I'm going to be taking
- 54:15copious notes because I want to be able to report back to our
- 54:20fans as well as you. What I saw and and I told all
- 54:25the reporters, everybody always asked me, well, how do you think
- 54:28we're going to do this year? I said it's too soon to tell
- 54:31once we put the pads on and go against another team.
- 54:35I'll be able to let you know and come back to me and ask me that
- 54:38same question. So the 15th, 16th, 17th,
- 54:40somewhere in that area. Be prepared.
- 54:43I'm looking forward to it, man. Because there's there's always
- 54:47an excuse we've been giving them.
- 54:48They're going against these just alpha dogs and John Allen and
- 54:54Duran and Tez and Chase. You know, what do you expect
- 54:58them to do, right? Oh well, they don't have pads
- 55:01on. What do you expect them to do?
- 55:02We're just constantly making excuses and I am tired of
- 55:06excuses. I want to see results.
- 55:10Just as a fan, and just from everyone else that's trying to
- 55:14feed us this crap, Fred Iron sharpens iron.
- 55:18I tweeted out earlier Our first Team D is a Ginsu knife.
- 55:23That offense is a plastic spoon right now.
- 55:26And you can cut with a plastic spoon, but it's going to be damn
- 55:30hard to actually finish that steak.
- 55:35I'm hoping that it's the sharpest plastic knife in the
- 55:41bunch. I'll even give him a spork.
- 55:45All right? The offense is a plastic spork
- 55:47right now. Oh my gosh, not a spork.
- 55:50But anyway, hey, that's going to do it for this week's episode of
- 55:53DMV Mess Hall. If you're tired, order some
- 55:56Don't sleep energy drink. Put in DMV Mess Hall for the
- 55:59code to get your 10% off. Make yourself happy and remember

- 56:07wrap it at all. Rally caps and tailgate Ted and
- 56:10we're going to be gone for another episode.
- 56:12Please.
