- 0:41Hi, Adam here. And this hypnosis session is
- 0:44going to be about a fear of flying and I was working with a
- 0:48client that had a flight from the States to London and
- 0:54particularly the movements. So turbulence or sudden jolty
- 0:58movements would really. Trigger a.
- 1:00Feeling of anxiety and we did a lot of work before this hypnosis
- 1:04bit to disassociate from the anxiety and to get them feeling
- 1:09resourceful initially through disassociation, which is them
- 1:13observing themselves looking confident and then stepping into
- 1:17that and feeling that confident. Even though they would be on a
- 1:20plane in the kind of situation that would have triggered
- 1:24anxiety before and you can hear an element of priming.
- 1:28They felt very confident driving even though in driving there'd
- 1:32be lots of variables that might cause other people anxiety.
- 1:37It didn't for them. So that was a good resource
- 1:38state and there's a bit going on here to get them in a feeling a
- 1:42resourceful emotional state and then mapping that across to
- 1:47flying. Now, I would encourage you if
- 1:50you're listening to this and you hear you have a fear or a phobia
- 1:54or an anxiety of flying, to think about an upcoming flight
- 2:00that you have and start thinking about that destination, that
- 2:05airport that you might be flying from to maximize the benefit you
- 2:08get from this session. But do bear in mind that this
- 2:12was created for an individual client.
- 2:14So if you do like the idea of a bespoke session, particularly if
- 2:18you have something coming up soon, there will be a link in
- 2:23the description where you can book a free consultation call to
- 2:27explore working with me. Also right now I have to launch
- 2:33a a membership, a low cost membership.
- 2:35There is free downloads, so 22 studio quality downloads.
- 2:40So if you like this kind of hypnosis but you don't want to
- 2:43be listening to the intro, the outro and the explanations
- 2:46again, look for the link in the description and you can get 22
- 2:49downloads completely free. For now though, find a quiet,
- 2:53comfortable place where you won't be disturbed.
- 2:55Relax and enjoy the session. Take a deep.
- 3:29Breath. In and as you breathe in,
- 3:37breathe in that slow, long, relaxing breath.
- 3:43And as you exhale, feel a sense of release, breathing in that
- 3:54resourceful feeling of calm and relaxation.
- 3:59And as you exhale, allowing feelings of stress, worry, or
- 4:06tension to feel like it's leaving your body in your
- 4:12outward breath. And as you breathe in and
- 4:18breathe down, allow your eyelids to relax and get heavier and
- 4:22heavier. Loosen any muscles in the jaw,
- 4:28neck, and shoulders. And just allow your body to do
- 4:34the breathing for you so that breathing becomes effortless.
- 4:43Breathing in through your nose, allowing your diaphragm to
- 4:49expand. And as you exhale, give
- 4:55permission to release any thoughts, worries and emotions
- 5:02that weren't helping anyway. And as you breathe in, think of
- 5:10a colour that represents calm confidence, the kind of
- 5:19confidence you might feel when you're driving.
- 5:25That feeling of I've got this, no big deal, I know how to do
- 5:34this. Can I imagine breathing in that
- 5:38calm confidence? But imagine any feelings of
- 5:44overwhelm, worry, or tension as almost like dark shadows.
- 5:54And as you exhale, allow those dark shadows to feel like
- 6:00they're leaving your body in your outward breath.
- 6:07And the deeper you breathe, the more relaxed you become.
- 6:13And the more relaxed you become, the deeper you breathe.
- 6:18And as your body relaxes, your imagination awakens.
- 6:27And I want you to imagine the virtual reality simulator that
- 6:38just has a program installed called Flying and just imagine
- 6:50what it would feel like to put that unit over your eyes on your
- 6:59head and just imagine what it would feel like.
- 7:08Go to a moment in your life where you feel completely
- 7:11confident. Maybe it's driving, maybe it's
- 7:15something else, but just feel that sense of confidence,
- 7:22calmness, relaxation. Breathe.
- 7:29That way you would breathe feeling calm and relaxed, and
- 7:34notice if there is any inner dialogue.
- 7:40It's slow, it's calm, it's confident.
- 7:45The essence is I'll handle it, no big deal.
- 7:56I want you to imagine that you are activating that part of you
- 8:01that knows how to be calm and confident.
- 8:07Imagine that your awakening that neural pathway in collection of
- 8:14neurons that just knows that in those situations, even when
- 8:22there's infinite variables that you're not in control of that
- 8:28you still know how to be calm and confident.
- 8:38I want you to get a sands that it's not the speed and the
- 8:45movement that was ever the issue.
- 8:50Because you are on the surface of a planet rotating at
- 8:58thousands of mph, hurtling through a Galaxy at millions of
- 9:07mph, and yet you're calm and relaxed and therefore your brain
- 9:16already knows how to move at speed and feel relaxed.
- 9:26So now imagine feeling that sense of calm relaxation as you
- 9:32imagine boarding a plane and allow your muscle tension to
- 9:39relax even more as you imagine sitting on the very seat of an
- 9:46upcoming flight. And I want you to imagine that
- 9:54as the plane takes off, it activates more of that confident
- 10:02version within you. I want you to accept the
- 10:08suggestion. Then, as the plane reaches
- 10:15cruising altitude, it will activate that confident,
- 10:24resourceful version of you. So by the time it reaches that
- 10:31altitude, it has unlocked a version of you that can enjoy a
- 10:38flight, that can feel relaxed, that can feel calm.
- 10:49And I want you to imagine that sensation, a wonderful sensation
- 10:57of feeling calm and confident as the plane rises.
- 11:05Your inner dialogue is slow and measured and reasonable, not
- 11:16saying very much at all, because the only evaluations you need to
- 11:22make are low stakes evaluations. Whether you need to go to the
- 11:31toilet or not, watch a movie, listen to music, what drink
- 11:39you'll have, whether to eat or not.
- 11:43And when the evaluations are low stakes, the feelings are low
- 11:52stakes, and if any thoughts pop into your head of things outside
- 12:00of your control, it will activate a very reasonable
- 12:08response. I'll be fine, everything's OK.
- 12:16This won't last very long. I will arrive at my destination
- 12:22soon. I want you to feel that you now
- 12:30know how to have a self fulfilling prophecy working for
- 12:36you. That when you expect things to
- 12:40be fine, they are. When you feel like you can cope,
- 12:47you can. And any anxiety from this point
- 12:53onwards are simply echoes or false evaluations.
- 13:03And you already know about echoes, that they get quieter
- 13:08and quieter and quieter until they disappear.
- 13:13And a false evaluation can easily be replaced with a true
- 13:20evaluation. And when that evaluation is
- 13:27empowering and useful, the emotion that follows is
- 13:33empowering and useful. And if there is any turbulence
- 13:44or sudden movements, you're in a dialogue, we'll say, of course,
- 13:54I've been expecting this, this won't last very long, and I can
- 13:59handle it. And you will focus on the things
- 14:05you can control, breathing slowly from the diaphragm,
- 14:14relaxing any tension in your muscles and slowing down that
- 14:22inner dialogue to make it slow and uncertain.
- 14:30By changing the tempo and the tonality, you can dial down
- 14:36those echoes of anxiety. And each time you do this, you
- 14:45will feel more and more comfortable as you adopt the
- 14:52belief that you are simply one good flight away from being free
- 15:00of this fear. And maybe it's your very next
- 15:05flight, but even if it isn't, it could be the flight after.
- 15:15I want you to get a sense that you are one good flight from
- 15:21banishing a fear that has haunted you.
- 15:23And when you have that one good flight, that then provides
- 15:33evidence that future flights will be even better.
- 15:44Some people believe that you feel the fear and do it anyway.
- 15:51I want you to get a sense that the fear that you have felt was
- 16:00simply false evaluations that appeared real.
- 16:06And with new evaluations and a shift in focus, don't be
- 16:12surprised if you can dial down all of that anxiety so you don't
- 16:17need to feel the fear to do it anyway.
- 16:21As the fear simply becomes more and more elusive with every
- 16:29flight you take, I want you to imagine starting to descend to
- 16:40your destination. There is no relief.
- 16:47There is a sense of excitement because you are getting to your
- 16:53destination to do all of the things you want to do there.
- 17:02If your unconscious mind is ready to deactivate an old
- 17:08neural pathway to create a new empowering way of thinking, let
- 17:15me know. By nodding your head.
- 17:19That's it. You're in control of your
- 17:23breathing, your posture, your tension, and you're in a
- 17:27dialogue. And in doing so, you are
- 17:31activating a new neural pathway that will enjoy flying as you
- 17:39get to your destination. Imagine having a wonderful time
- 17:45as it's time to return back to the here and now.
- 17:51Take a deep breath in through your nose and out through your
- 17:56nose. Just wiggle your fingers and
- 18:00wiggle your toes. That's it.
- 18:01Connect and calibrate into the here and the now as I now count
- 18:06from 1:00 to 10:00 to awaken you.
- 18:11Starting to count 123 waking up 456 more alert 7-8.
- 18:20Open your eyes. Open your eyes 910.
- 18:24Wide awake. Wide awake.
- 18:27Wide awake.
