- 3:45So welcome to the show Mira. Thank you for being here this
- 3:47week. You might have to unmute
- 3:52yourself. Yes, I was saying thank you so
- 3:56much for having me. There you go.
- 3:59All right, yes, and thank you for being here.
- 4:01It's great to see you. You are checking in today with
- 4:03us or joining us today from Jose Said Gay Paris.
- 4:08All right, you're in Paris, France.
- 4:10I'm from France. Yeah, it is.
- 4:12And. Is that?
- 4:13Is that your? Is that where you're from
- 4:14originally? Are you French?
- 4:16Yeah, I'm from Paris. I'm born in Paris and raised in
- 4:19Paris, but now I'm living in Burgundy.
- 4:20So actually I'm checking from Burgundy right now.
- 4:24Yeah. Very nice.
- 4:25A more quiet place. Yeah, Yeah.
- 4:30Less hectic I'm sure. Not as big like that as the big
- 4:32city type. Different energy than living in
- 4:35Paris. I mean, Paris was great.
- 4:37They also really appreciate the space here, the space we have,
- 4:41the quietness, the big skies. Yeah.
- 4:45Yeah, yeah, I, it's funny you say Burgundy because whenever I
- 4:49hear that word, whether it's the color or the city or the wine,
- 4:55you know, when I was a child, I used to say certain words and I
- 5:00would put the emphasis on the wrong place.
- 5:03And burgundy was one of the words that I would mispronounce.
- 5:06So as a kid, instead of burgundy, I said burgundy.
- 5:09Yeah, but this would work. This would work actually.
- 5:12Yeah. Who got in France in French.
- 5:15And the the very funny story about it is like Burgundy is
- 5:18coming from the name of a tribe which was a bourgons.
- 5:21And they said to descend from a tribe that was in the north
- 5:28Denmark, in an island named Bonhomme.
- 5:32So this is a little story of, of this place that the first people
- 5:38that came here, not the first like the one you remember, were
- 5:42coming from this island in the north, North Denmark.
- 5:45Yeah. Oh wow, so I never knew that.
- 5:48And I love that too about a lot of places in Europe.
- 5:50You know, the the place names have history.
- 5:52You know, for instance, obviously, you know, France is
- 5:57the country and the people who that country was settled by, I
- 6:03guess they were the Franks. Yeah, exactly.
- 6:05Which were a tribe of Germanic people way, way, way, way back.
- 6:08Right. So you have you have the name
- 6:11France in the name of the tribe that settled that that area.
- 6:15So very, very cool, very interesting.
- 6:17I love the history of things like that.
- 6:20So again, it's very I'm honored to have you here on the show.
- 6:23Long time fan and supporter of you know, not just your, your
- 6:28activity and your presence in Hilung, but also your, your solo
- 6:32work, you know, the music and the performance that you share
- 6:35with the world outside of Hilung.
- 6:39So I'm excited to get to talk to you a bit about.
- 6:41That because yeah, you you made some little videos about some of
- 6:44my released and actually your analysis were really correct and
- 6:50very accurate. So it was really a pleasure to
- 6:54to be invited here. Great.
- 6:57Yeah, I think the first and thank you for saying that by the
- 7:00way, 'cause I think one of the first like reaction videos that
- 7:07I ever did was to when you when you when you put out Uriat.
- 7:11Right. That that that music video, the
- 7:14song is beautiful. I mean, I love just closing my
- 7:17eyes and picturing, you know, a setting or a space, but having
- 7:23the music put to a video and giving us that visual experience
- 7:27as well, I mean, it was captivating.
- 7:30I actually was talking to a friend of mine last night and I
- 7:36showed him because he had never seen the video.
- 7:38And I was like, oh, dude, you've got to, you know, see this.
- 7:42And he was, he was like, I really like that.
- 7:44You know, it was, you know, it's not his type of typical
- 7:47listening music, but he's like, that's really impressive.
- 7:50You know, lyrically, visually, you know, we don't understand
- 7:53the the words per SE, but that's the beautiful thing about the
- 7:56performance and the music is that it speaks to something that
- 7:59we do understand, whether we understand the the the spoken
- 8:02language or not. So.
- 8:05Yeah, I think this is something I really like trying to create.
- 8:10It's like the fact that you don't need to really understand
- 8:13the words to understand what it is about.
- 8:17It's like it's more an energy that is flowing and that is
- 8:21common to many different being on these planets.
- 8:24So this is like more a type of archetypal work, you know,
- 8:28archetype that that I think is a common language to to yeah, many
- 8:38different culture, right. So.
- 8:41And is uriat how, what? What language is that being
- 8:44spoken in or sung in? So the language is is in Uriat
- 8:49is Buryat, which is a tribe from South Siberia in the in the
- 8:55border of Mongolia. And they have a similar, let's
- 9:00say way of living. They are nomadic people and so
- 9:06they are moving with their animals and they both do throat
- 9:14singing. It's an important part of their
- 9:18musical expression. So yeah, so this is a song that
- 9:25come from this area. So it's a it's AI guess a a folk
- 9:30song from that region. It's a folk song that I found in
- 9:34the very old, like ethno, ethno musical documents on the on the
- 9:40library because I was doing, yeah, doing many, many different
- 9:45type of research. And then I had to find someone
- 9:48who was speaking this language, which is very hard to find in
- 9:53France. But by very good luck, I could
- 9:58find someone that because I just wanted to check that my way of
- 10:03pronouncing my pronunciation was correct, right?
- 10:05I don't want to, like, ruin the song or whatever.
- 10:08So I just checked that. And the person told me that it
- 10:12was like, actually decent Buriat.
- 10:17Yeah. So I was like, OK, good.
- 10:20So then I do all the work around it and released it.
- 10:25And then for the video, I choose not to represent the culture
- 10:30because what I'm doing is inspired from it's not like I'm
- 10:34not pretending to be someone else.
- 10:37That then who I am, right? So I'm not good yet, but I
- 10:43wanted to show what the music was evoking to me, like what was
- 10:49the energy, what was like, and to divide it with my own vision
- 10:55and imagination. I mean, I think you captured a
- 10:59beautiful setting from the landscape where it was filmed to
- 11:05everyone who participated in it. You know the the whole, the
- 11:10feeling of of the, the feminine divine of the earth.
- 11:13Yeah, this is really the idea. Yeah, yeah.
- 11:16I mean, it was, it was you nailed it, as they say, nailed,
- 11:18nailed it, nailed it on the head.
- 11:20And so that's really cool. You know, I I've had the Natasha
- 11:26and Anatoly from Nitland, I believe if you know who Nitland
- 11:29are, Nitland. Yeah, yeah, I know this band.
- 11:32Yeah. Yeah, and they are, they are
- 11:34native to Siberia, you know, and they are very connected to the
- 11:39land and everything about their, their music is a direct
- 11:44reflection of the culture and, and stuff.
- 11:47And I, I, I really keyed in. I love what you said to earlier
- 11:50about, you know, you didn't want to misrepresent or pretend to be
- 11:54Buriat 'cause you're not, right. So it wasn't an appropriation.
- 11:58It was an appreciation. Yeah.
- 12:01And giving love and giving honor to the culture without, you
- 12:04know, mocking it or, or trying to be something that you're not.
- 12:08And I see that a lot in the world today that when it comes
- 12:12to Native spirituality or indigenous beliefs of an of an
- 12:15area, there's a lot of people who are doing it the right way,
- 12:22by appreciating it and by living in the spirit of it.
- 12:26And then there's these other people who are appropriating and
- 12:29trying to do things that are not appropriate for them to do.
- 12:33They're they're, they're just kind of stealing the, the
- 12:36culture a bit. So I love what you said about,
- 12:38you know, giving it your, giving it your love, giving it the
- 12:43honor that it deserves, but not trying or pretending to be
- 12:45something that you're not. Yeah, it's a very difficult
- 12:50subject and there is like no predefined answer on that.
- 12:55And I'm only trying to figure out what sounds aligned for me
- 13:01on regarding this topic because my, let's say, my fields of
- 13:07interest and research is really about like Indigenous,
- 13:12Indigenous people, right? But like with all them, the I
- 13:20don't know the travel I met or the people I met.
- 13:23Also with Highland, we like as you know, we, we met many
- 13:27different tribe across America to do land acknowledgement prior
- 13:32to our rituals because we were on their lands after meeting all
- 13:38these different people also in New Zealand, also in Australia,
- 13:46it's really connected me to my own indigenity, right.
- 13:50So like those culture are like have been destroyed in a way,
- 14:00but like a bit earlier, I would say than like Western culture,
- 14:06like Western, let's say more. How can I say that?
- 14:13Yeah, Indigenous in that sense, it's not very clear, but yeah.
- 14:17So to me, they are really like an inspiration.
- 14:22But we must never forget where we are coming from, right?
- 14:26It's very important to to yeah, as I said, not trying to be
- 14:34someone you're not, but rather really remembering where you are
- 14:39coming from, what is the history of your culture, right?
- 14:43Like, And there is many layer to it because like, yeah, lately we
- 14:48have been colonizer and this is very true, right?
- 14:50So, but in the in the in the meantime, what was there before?
- 14:55And this is something we also need to remember because like
- 14:59what I feel or what I would like is to really, yeah, reconnect to
- 15:05my roots and to like see myself as actually this is who I am.
- 15:13I am indigenous from France, right?
- 15:16I am indigenous from Burgundy, actually, because my, a big part
- 15:19of my family is coming from there for a generation, right?
- 15:22So this is this is the land of my ancestors.
- 15:26And the question is my work now is also to remember or to try to
- 15:32remember or to do research to remember.
- 15:35Like what? Like what?
- 15:39What were the way of living? What were the spirituality?
- 15:42What were the beliefs? What were the way to interact
- 15:45with the lands? What were the rituals, right?
- 15:48And I'm more interested in that than trying to learn ritual from
- 15:55other culture. Right and.
- 15:57I. Would I really like to learn
- 15:59about other culture? I really like to see how they do
- 16:02because it's so inspiring. And it's also very inspiring to
- 16:05do parallel, right? It's like, oh, you are doing
- 16:08like this, but we we are doing like that.
- 16:10And then you really have something which is going to end
- 16:13exchange, which is called reciprocity.
- 16:15But if I come empty, if I come without knowing who I am, my
- 16:20history, what my country is, what is happening is I'm a void.
- 16:24And then I'm going to swallow and identify to something that
- 16:29I'm not right. So it is to me very important
- 16:32to, to, to come with a certain knowledge, right, and a certain
- 16:36knowledge of yourself. So this is, this is my way of
- 16:42seeing the thing, but it's a very thin line.
- 16:44And I of course, because I'm extremely, extremely interested
- 16:48in different culture. It's like I'm very, it's like
- 16:53I'm passionate about discovering all the similarity and all the
- 16:59diversity and like, yeah, witnessing many different
- 17:04experiences and taking my inspiration from there.
- 17:08So of course, yeah, it's a very thin line because I'm also get
- 17:17nurtured in a way. I don't know if it's the correct
- 17:19way to say it, but yeah. Absolutely.
- 17:23By this exchange, right. But you.
- 17:25Yeah. So this is where I'm.
- 17:26I am in my reflection. But this is also a thing that is
- 17:29always moving, right? So it's a it's a very, very deep
- 17:33and important question. And I think, yeah, as long as
- 17:36you keep questioning it yourself, yeah, it might go
- 17:39somewhere. Yeah, Well, I think that's a a
- 17:43big part of people's lives today.
- 17:45They are. There's so much going on in the
- 17:49world that is scary or it's, you know, it's, it's stirring things
- 17:56up in people, feelings and emotions, very powerful feelings
- 18:00and emotions, you know, strong, sometimes dangerous even.
- 18:04And you know, people need people are, are looking for that
- 18:08connection. They're looking for something
- 18:11feel connected to, right, something that speaks to them.
- 18:14And I think for a lot of people, they're that's, that's, you
- 18:16know, spirituality is, is where that is.
- 18:18Where's that connection? And as you said, you know, if
- 18:21you're void of something, if you're empty of it and you are
- 18:25exposed to some culture or, or a way that is in tune with their
- 18:31ancestral beliefs, you know, the ways and then the teachings of
- 18:34their indigenousness, that could be something that, that those
- 18:40type of people who are void of it will absorb.
- 18:43You know, So it is, it's, it's a, you know, it, it takes work,
- 18:49it takes time, especially for, for folks who don't know much
- 18:53about their background. You know, I've talked to people
- 18:56who have very little knowledge of where they've come from, you
- 19:00know what I mean? Like where their family is from,
- 19:03because they've had this sort of a, a disconnect in the family
- 19:08dynamic. You know, there hasn't been that
- 19:10closeness. Maybe they've been fostered or
- 19:13adopted. And I wondered too, if you ever
- 19:16think like when we talk about our ancestors and our connection
- 19:19to places and people, one of the things that I loved about my
- 19:24culture that the Germanic peoples is, is how much and how
- 19:28important kinship meant. And kinship didn't always mean
- 19:33your blood. It meant the kind of connection
- 19:36of family that you receive through adoption and fostering.
- 19:41People would, you know, take on the the responsibility of
- 19:44raising a child that wasn't biologically theirs through
- 19:47fostership, through adoption, marriage.
- 19:50Of course, you know, that's another way to blend and to sort
- 19:53of connect. And yeah, I was just wondering
- 19:57if that if that has been part of kind of your approach with it
- 20:00is, is looking at the the broader scale, not just who I'm
- 20:03connected to blood wise or through DNA or anything, but
- 20:06like seeing the connection that we share with other means?
- 20:11I really like the idea of kinship.
- 20:13So because for me, it can also apply to, to like everything
- 20:19that surrounds you. So it can apply to, to trees, it
- 20:23can apply to water, it can apply to the spirit of the land.
- 20:26It can apply to, you know, it's like, so yeah, I think it's,
- 20:34it's not it, it, it, how can I say that?
- 20:37It's not only related to blood, as you said, right?
- 20:40It's like ancestry can also be like, I want to be in the
- 20:43lineage of like because of what I'm doing, I'm in a certain
- 20:48lineage, right? So this is also something very
- 20:51interesting. And I think like also, yeah,
- 20:53wider your view on like, like not only human but also non
- 21:01human, right? This is also a very way of being
- 21:09embed, embed in your territory, right?
- 21:12Because this is what it is at the end.
- 21:15Indigenous people are people who are from the land, meaning they
- 21:20are tied to the land, they are woven into the lands.
- 21:23And this is something which is like, it can, it's something
- 21:28that can come because you are born in this culture, right?
- 21:31And you have the look that maybe like you still have a certain
- 21:35structure which is like that coherent with like songs and
- 21:39rituals and symbols and stuff. But you can also be in a culture
- 21:43where this has completely disappeared, right?
- 21:45Something is like not there anymore.
- 21:48So I think this is something you can recreate somehow.
- 21:51I think this is something you can weave again, but this
- 21:55weaving is like, I think it's really linked to the concept of
- 22:01reciprocity, right? It's like not seeing what is
- 22:04around you as something you're going to use.
- 22:07It's the same with like when you are preaching a new culture, is
- 22:09it something you're going to use for your own profit?
- 22:11Is it something you're going to use because you are missing
- 22:13something or because you think this is going to bring you
- 22:16whatever? Or maybe you can make a specific
- 22:18type of magic with that. Or maybe you're going to make, I
- 22:22don't know, right. So or you can like, I don't
- 22:25know, maybe. Yeah, there is many ways of of,
- 22:29of using things, right? And it's the same.
- 22:32If you think about the tree, like this tree, am I going to
- 22:35use it because like I need to like make something with it,
- 22:41right? Or am I going to relate to it?
- 22:44And this is, this is this is a way you can like, like all the
- 22:51threats that are like kind of going through you and through
- 22:57every living being around you. Yeah.
- 23:00I think this is a way to strengthen the bonds.
- 23:02And because ultimately at the end, everything is about
- 23:05connection, right? Everything is about like
- 23:08relation, relationship, because this is this is how life sustain
- 23:15itself. And we are life.
- 23:16So. Yeah.
- 23:18Yeah, it's, it's like the reciprocity thing.
- 23:20It really, it hits me right in the heart, right.
- 23:23Like it is everything about my beliefs is, is about
- 23:27reciprocity. It I'm not taking more than what
- 23:29I'm giving. There's this, this constant
- 23:32exchange that's happening and the gift cycle, the gifting
- 23:38cycle. Germanic tribes especially
- 23:42understood this and I know that it's a common theme across many
- 23:45cultures like here in America and the indigenous native tribes
- 23:50of, of, of this continent, no matter which tribe it is, you
- 23:55know, whether it's the, you know, the Navajos or the, you
- 23:59know, the Iroquois or, or the Seneca or the Cherokee, right?
- 24:04It doesn't matter where they're from in country, geographically,
- 24:07they all have a core understanding of the gift and
- 24:13gifting and the the reciprocity that's required to maintain a
- 24:17relationship that is beneficial. You know, you don't take more
- 24:21than you what you give and you know, you tell you about, you
- 24:24know, the using the things you know, like trees, or so I always
- 24:27think of it. You know, trees provide for us
- 24:30in many ways. We wouldn't be alive without
- 24:32them literally, right? The oxygen that we breathe.
- 24:37And then we also see that they, some trees, you know, they
- 24:41provide us with fruit to eat and to be alive in.
- 24:46And then when the life of the tree expires, or if a storm
- 24:51takes it down, you know, the remains of that tree can provide
- 24:55for shelter or, or warmth through fire by, you know,
- 24:59burning wood and cooking food, you know, creating the heat and
- 25:03the, and the warmth and then the spirit of what fire can, can
- 25:06provide to us. You know, it's not just warmth,
- 25:08it can be light. It can be comfort, you know,
- 25:11sitting around a fire and having a, a conversation or singing
- 25:15songs or telling stories, you know, that, that, that creation
- 25:18of connectedness with others that the fire provides like
- 25:22these are all gifts from that, that very, that same tree that
- 25:25we owe our very lives to and the the relationship.
- 25:28And that's how I see the world. That's how I see a lot of things
- 25:30is this is we're in a relationship with them.
- 25:32You know, we're, we're caretakers of the land.
- 25:36We are part of the land. We are the land, You know, we
- 25:38are the universe. We are all these things.
- 25:40We're made-up of all these cosmic wonders.
- 25:42And because we are that it's, I saw something funny the other
- 25:45day. It was, you know, where, where,
- 25:49where, where the universe pretending to be human for a
- 25:52little while. And I thought that was kind of a
- 25:55funny way of putting it. And I go, yeah, sometimes I
- 25:57forget, you know, sometimes I get in like, what is this thing,
- 26:00you know, talking about my body? Like who put this here?
- 26:04Yeah. But it's, yeah, I get what
- 26:06you're saying. And it's a it's a it's great
- 26:09that that what you're doing with your music, with your, with your
- 26:12art is bringing that to life and showing that to the world in
- 26:17such a beautiful way. Love it.
- 26:19Thank you. So you have talking about some
- 26:23of like your art, I did want to ask like from what I understand
- 26:27you've, you've studied under an ethnomusicologist, Martina
- 26:32Katella, is that correct? Yeah.
- 26:36You've also spent time with the Lebanese singer and I forget I'm
- 26:40not, I don't speak Lebanese or know the name pronunciation, but
- 26:43is it it Sawyer? Marie Kayruse.
- 26:47Yeah, it's sister Marie ke Rosia.
- 26:49She's a, she's a sister, yeah. So Marie ke Rosia, Yeah.
- 26:53So you've, you've spent time and you've learned or or studied
- 26:56with them and you're really immersing yourself in, in vocals
- 27:00and chants, you know, that are over 1500 years old probably in
- 27:03some cases. So how have those experiences
- 27:08shaped your approach to to voice and spiritual expression being
- 27:14being exposed to some of these things that are that are so old?
- 27:17Yeah, so first of all, the being with in the in the school of
- 27:25Martina Cadela really gave me a very, very good technique, vocal
- 27:33technique because she was really a master in this understanding
- 27:39the different space where the voice will resonate, let's say
- 27:45regarding to to your culture. So by learning vocal technique,
- 27:50I, I could really understand that the way we sing is
- 27:56extremely cultural, right? So I will not speak the same.
- 28:02I'm sorry. I will not sing the same way if
- 28:05I'm speaking this or that language or if I'm living on
- 28:08this specific land, right. Because the voice where we use
- 28:12our voice is shaped like I would, I would say mostly
- 28:15traditionally, yeah. But it's shape, but our
- 28:18surrounding. So this is one of the thing I
- 28:22really, really enjoyed being there.
- 28:26It's like really discovering all these vocal expression across
- 28:30the world and like really linking to, to, to places in my
- 28:34body, right? But also understanding that this
- 28:38like the way we sing is never neutral, right?
- 28:41The way we sing is because we are speaking a certain language
- 28:46and because we have a certain way of using also the songs,
- 28:50right? So different space.
- 28:52So this was really life changing for me.
- 28:57And also there I learn overall transmission.
- 29:01So it's like a transmission which is not based on any
- 29:05written notes, right? So it's, it's only about you
- 29:11listen to a source and you learn from the, from listening, right?
- 29:19And the, and the ethnomusicology science also learn me to be very
- 29:25precise, right? So if I, if I'm singing a song
- 29:29that is not in my language, I will really, really need to know
- 29:32what it is about because I don't want to sing something that is
- 29:35like not aligned with what I want to sing, first of all, and
- 29:39also to know like what is the spirit of the song, right?
- 29:43So it's very important. So this is something I, I
- 29:47learned in that school and then I, I learned with like, so this
- 29:52very old Eastern church tradition chance with us,
- 30:00Somatica Rose, who was like actually a sister.
- 30:02She was a nun. She was also very, very much a
- 30:05rock star. But this is another topic,
- 30:08right? But because she was really
- 30:11travelling the world with her, with her voice, because she got
- 30:14like one of the most beautiful voice I've ever heard in my
- 30:17life. So this is how I went to these
- 30:21songs is because I was really drawn to this very specific way
- 30:27of singing, right? And this way of singing is
- 30:30linked to a spirituality which is Christianity.
- 30:32I'm not myself a Christian. I'm not baptized.
- 30:36I it's not something, it's not how I identify.
- 30:42But like many of us, like I would say the vast marriage of
- 30:47European people, my ancestor were Christian.
- 30:51So in order also to honour my ancestors and to honour their
- 30:55beliefs, I also have a link to Christianity, but in a very,
- 31:04let's say it's a selective way, right?
- 31:08I'm selecting what I like and and I'm putting aside what I
- 31:13don't like or I don't resonate with.
- 31:15So how I yeah, so I'm, I'm investing on different figure
- 31:24that I find. Yeah, like interesting.
- 31:30So not trying to see Christianity as something only,
- 31:36only as something very, let's say dominative.
- 31:43I don't know if it's a word like, you know, that's really
- 31:45trying to you, right. So this this was a case, right?
- 31:49So we cannot deny the the weight of the church.
- 31:53But there is also something that is very interesting to me in in,
- 31:57in this, yeah. Spirituality is like, if I can
- 32:06find maybe some clue about more ancient riots and stuff like
- 32:11that, because sometime it has been woven together by the
- 32:17people, because the folks, the folk didn't want to let go of
- 32:21their own beliefs, old beliefs. So they will just like change
- 32:25them, right? Adapt them for the for the
- 32:27Christian world, Christian, whatever.
- 32:32So yeah. So I think at some point you
- 32:39also understand that like all these different currents are all
- 32:46these are different currents, right?
- 32:48All the religion, all the beliefs and stuff.
- 32:51But I would say that maybe there is some states of being while
- 32:58experiencing spirituality that are common to many, to different
- 33:05culture, let's say not many, I don't know.
- 33:06But like, yeah, two different culture.
- 33:09Yeah, there's like there's, there's, there's this common
- 33:11base layer, there's this common primal layer that all of these
- 33:16other labels can draw and can find themselves going back to,
- 33:22you know, so whatever was, you know, like I was reading
- 33:27something the other day about, you know, we'll just use like a
- 33:35the Thunder God archetype. OK, So the Germanic peoples, you
- 33:39know, they had, they had donor, you know, they had orthunor,
- 33:41right. And then with the Scandinavians,
- 33:43they became Thor. But you go even back further
- 33:46than that, you know, and you have like the, the, the, the,
- 33:50the, you have Greek and Roman archetypes of, you know, Jupiter
- 33:54and, and you know, Zeus and, and you know, and Mars, all the
- 34:00various, you know, archetypes that exist.
- 34:04And then you go, you know, further that into the Indo
- 34:06European side of things, you know, and it's like, wow,
- 34:09that's, you know, thousands upon thousands of years old and, and,
- 34:12and even then it existed. So it all came from something
- 34:15and all came from a, a, a root place.
- 34:18And then as time goes on and as people evolve and languages
- 34:22evolve and cultures are created through shared experiences,
- 34:25'cause I think that's, you know, so much of what gets, you know,
- 34:30we, we, we talk about our identity and our cultures.
- 34:33It's like what was really even Native, you know, sure you're
- 34:37from a certain area and your, and your ancestors have been
- 34:40from that area, but you go back far enough, they weren't really
- 34:42even from that area. They moved there at some point
- 34:44too. They might be somewhere, you
- 34:47know what I mean? So it's like we're, we're all
- 34:48kind of, you know, yeah, I get that.
- 34:52I, I understand where the native and the Indigenous belief and
- 34:55all that comes from. We're all from somewhere else,
- 35:00you know, if you get right back. There, Yeah.
- 35:02I mean, everything is changing and there is a lot of motion,
- 35:05right. But like I would say native is
- 35:08something that developed together with the lens.
- 35:11It's just something that, you know, it's like being native is
- 35:15like, it's like being coherent with like the surrounding,
- 35:24right? You're a part of that, yeah.
- 35:26You're giving that the honor and the love that it deserves and,
- 35:31yeah, recognizing it. Yeah.
- 35:33Yeah, everything is moving all the time, this is for sure.
- 35:35And we are coming from very different direction, but we also
- 35:40along the way get some particularity, right?
- 35:46And this is like really something when you really
- 35:49observe even in a very small like say, like for instance, in
- 35:54France, there were many different different region with
- 35:57many different ways of living. So in France, for instance, it's
- 36:03insane. You just like you just drive two
- 36:05hours and the house are absolutely not the same, right?
- 36:09Because the rock are not the same.
- 36:12So what they have around us is not the same, right?
- 36:17So to me, it's really like being a native is being connected to a
- 36:22certain territory, right? Territory, yeah.
- 36:25Region. Yeah, it's linked to a
- 36:27territory. It's linked to a place on Earth,
- 36:29right? Because all place on Earth are
- 36:32not the same, right? Like you are like there is a
- 36:34desert. There is like, I don't know,
- 36:37mountains. Like everything is, is, is
- 36:41particular color or particular, you know, like smell or
- 36:45something, right. So it's, it's really about that.
- 36:47It's really like. Yeah, I've talked about that too
- 36:52with certain people, you know, and it's 'cause what's really
- 36:54interesting is being in the, you know, the beliefs of, of, of
- 37:00Germanic heathenry in the United States.
- 37:03This country, this land is, you know, that that's not, this is
- 37:07not the land that that belief came from.
- 37:09It was brought over here obviously when people immigrated
- 37:13some of those ways, those folk beliefs did come over here and
- 37:16they continued the tradition. But it was, you know, coming
- 37:19from the place of where it originated in Northern Europe
- 37:23and continental Germany and, and places around near where you're,
- 37:26where you're located, coming to the United States, coming to a
- 37:31whole other continent across an ocean.
- 37:34And then labeling the, the things that are, are, are, are
- 37:41close to that culture. We'll just say, for instance, or
- 37:44for example, right, the, the Germanic name for the spirits of
- 37:47the land, right, the whites WIGHTS, you know, that's, that's
- 37:51a cultural name for the, for them over here or for, you know,
- 37:54for that over there. And then, you know, you come
- 37:55over here and you call them whites over here.
- 37:58And I always wondered, like, what does that?
- 37:59Does that make sense for the, you know, the, the, the spirit
- 38:02of this land is what the natives of this land call them.
- 38:06They have a name already. Why are we giving them a
- 38:08different name that is indigenous to the land that it
- 38:11comes from? And I was, you know, I've I've
- 38:14talked to people that are here, you know, that are heathen over
- 38:16here in in North America, and a lot of them are becoming more in
- 38:22tune with the, you know, the the, the local indigenous ways
- 38:29of doing things Again, not to appropriate to appreciate.
- 38:32Then it's. So it's starting to to be also a
- 38:35syncretism, right? Yes, yes, yeah.
- 38:40Yep. Because it is.
- 38:42It does. No matter where you go, it's
- 38:44you. Know, yeah, we also think our
- 38:48yeah, we are mixing right. But yeah, I think the question
- 38:52is always like, or the question or the answer I'd say is always
- 38:59from the inside, right, From the individual or for the position
- 39:03of, you know, positioning of yourself, like how you are doing
- 39:07things. Yeah.
- 39:08It's like, yeah, if you are on a specific land and there is
- 39:11already names for spirit here, yeah, maybe then it's like, good
- 39:16to call them by the name. And if you travel to a place
- 39:22where it like, you know, but maybe for yourself, because it's
- 39:25more easy, maybe you can also picture the thing your own
- 39:28culture brings you somehow. It can also be a thing, right.
- 39:31But like, yeah, this is a very, very big question.
- 39:34I think it's a very big question.
- 39:39Yeah, I have. Absolutely sorry, go ahead.
- 39:46No, I say it was like, I like how, what did you say?
- 39:48I mean, I say, I was saying I like how people, how, how we,
- 39:50we, we come to this, this question or this thought and,
- 39:54and our answers are you say, you know, they're, they're inside,
- 39:57they're within how you approach this, you know, when you, when
- 40:00you approach it with a, with a pure and genuine desire to
- 40:04connect. That's a, that's a universal
- 40:07language. It doesn't matter what you call
- 40:09anything. It's it's the universal language
- 40:11of spirit of, of, of, of where we are and of what we come from.
- 40:18Yeah, yeah. But I would really add to that,
- 40:20that is it's a double movement. It's a movement of going towards
- 40:24something and trying to understand and to, you know,
- 40:27adopt something, but also a movement of rootedness.
- 40:31Let's say. I don't know if it's like, but
- 40:33inside yourself, which mean you need to know about not per SE
- 40:39about your family because you don't know it.
- 40:41It's not that, but like knowing you like in the sense maybe
- 40:45some, maybe it's not possible, but if it's possible to really
- 40:51like, you know, like, yeah, there is a part which is you and
- 40:55there is also like when you you're going towards someone,
- 40:58you are not completely abandoning yourself, right?
- 41:03It's, it's a double movement, you know, it's like.
- 41:07Yeah, I heard somebody say one time that like when it comes to
- 41:10connecting with our ancestors and, and, and the struggle that
- 41:17some people find themselves in when doing so because they're
- 41:20like, well, I don't know much, if anything about my ancestors.
- 41:24I don't know who to connect to. I I, I saw somewhere where it
- 41:28was said, you know, your ancestors know you, you don't
- 41:34have to know them. They know you when you approach
- 41:38that, they will find you will find them.
- 41:41You know what I mean? They will, they will come to you
- 41:43because they want to, to connect with you.
- 41:45They want to be in your life. They want to stay connected in
- 41:49that way. So when you when you approach
- 41:51them, even if you don't know them, they know you, they know
- 41:54us. This is a beautiful way of
- 41:57seeing of seeing it. So yeah.
- 42:00Yeah, I thought that was beautiful and it, and it kind of
- 42:03puts people's hearts at ease, you know, 'cause it can be
- 42:05intimidating, especially if you've never been brought up to
- 42:08think this way. You know, it's adopting a whole
- 42:10new worldview. It's deconstructing things that
- 42:12you were maybe raised in or brought up to believe in, and
- 42:15now you're finding something more close, more genuine, more
- 42:18pure. And so navigating that space can
- 42:20be challenging for people. So that really was a beautiful
- 42:24way I thought of like, hey, don't stress it, just be
- 42:28genuine. Yeah, just they're there.
- 42:30Yeah. It's also, it's also about like
- 42:34welcoming in a sense. It's like if you want to
- 42:38interact with your ancestors, like knowing that they are dead,
- 42:41I mean, they are on the other side, right.
- 42:43So it's like, it's really, it's, it's a lot about like being
- 42:49receptive rather than, I would say, trying to, you know, do
- 42:58something, maybe, maybe there is stuff to do.
- 43:01Obviously you can, there is many, many things you can do,
- 43:03right? But like, as you said, it's also
- 43:05something sometime you don't know, it can be very
- 43:08intimidating, especially with with our culture, we have been
- 43:11completely like the ancestor, ancestor cult is not really,
- 43:15really there, right? It's like just disappear a bit.
- 43:18So we really need to find all ways to reconnect with those
- 43:22practices, right? And it it comes a lot with
- 43:25listening. I would say listening very, very
- 43:27tiny. Yes, yeah, because we tend to be
- 43:31very noisy nowadays. You know, all this external
- 43:36noise. It's hard to listen when it's
- 43:38that noisy. Yeah.
- 43:43But I did want to ask you a little bit if we could kind of
- 43:47shift, which I love these conversations.
- 43:49I mean, like I said, it's these are the types of things that I
- 43:52can really sit down and talk forever about.
- 43:55So it's great getting to to hear your side of it and your
- 43:58approach and sharing what you're sharing.
- 44:00Thank you again for all that. But I was curious, you know, I
- 44:05believe you've been working with high lung since 2019.
- 44:10Is that is that correct? Yeah, that's correct.
- 44:13Can you tell us a bit about what drew you to them and and how
- 44:17that path unfolded? Love to know a little bit of
- 44:21your background with that. So actually when the mid cash
- 44:26plot video came, it was not mid cash plot.
- 44:29It was sorry, Castlefest video came out in 2017.
- 44:33So I looked at the video and I was completely like like shocked
- 44:41I was because I really felt something.
- 44:45I was like, wow, it's insane that some people are doing that,
- 44:48because this is exactly what I would like dream to do somehow,
- 44:54right, because like they were so on spot, like it was really like
- 44:58wow, It was like everything is just like so genuine in a way,
- 45:04so real, like you don't see them pretending whatever.
- 45:08They're just doing something just completely, completely
- 45:12magical, completely beautiful, completely powerful.
- 45:16Like there were so many thing, right?
- 45:18So I was or with the singer at the time, but I was like, yeah,
- 45:23I was starting my, my, let's say my career somehow, right?
- 45:31So I, it was a very big inspiration for me.
- 45:33I was like, wow. It's crazy because like those
- 45:35people are doing what I would dream to do in a few years,
- 45:38right? So it was really like, wow.
- 45:42So I start following them on the on Facebook and a few years
- 45:46later, so it was 2019, I think 02018.
- 45:51It was 2018. Yeah.
- 45:54Anyway, they posted the and you know, like audition post.
- 46:02Yeah. Then so, so I apply for for to
- 46:07be a warrior. So it was like, yeah, it was an
- 46:10addition to be a warrior for the tour, for the full tour 2019.
- 46:17So this is what I, I did. I, I was selected to be a
- 46:23warrior. And then from Warrior I became
- 46:27singer because they were looking for a singer, a female singer at
- 46:33that time. And I really connected very,
- 46:36very much with the the whole family, let's say.
- 46:41It was a very beautiful meeting and they welcomed me.
- 46:47It's yeah, absolutely. What is it like right now for
- 46:50you to be where you are with with Highlung?
- 46:54You know, you guys, you just ended a, an amazing tour.
- 47:02I want to say tour, but it's been, you know, it's been years.
- 47:06It's been. A long time you guys have.
- 47:08Yeah, we toured the Nonstop for three years since 2020.
- 47:13So like, what is it like for you now to think about where you
- 47:17started, right? Did you have any idea that
- 47:19that's what it was going to entail for you when you started
- 47:23with them? You know, did you have any idea
- 47:25that it was going to be a 5-6 year long?
- 47:28No. Kind of.
- 47:31No, I didn't knew. I I just jumped.
- 47:33I just jumped, jumped on the boat and I just like, this was
- 47:36it. I, I was, I was not expecting
- 47:40anything. I was not like, I was just like
- 47:44leaving it somehow. And I think this was a case for
- 47:48many of us. We just leave the adventure,
- 47:50right? It was, it was just like, yeah,
- 47:52we just jump, jump on board. Yeah, and you've done a great
- 47:58job, everybody. I mean, just to, to, to see the
- 48:00journey, to be a part of it. You know, I, I know several
- 48:03people who have gone to probably dozens of high lung rituals.
- 48:09I've only attended 1 and it was in, it was back in 2023, you all
- 48:14were doing a, a North America tour and I got to see you all at
- 48:18the Huntsville, AL venue. And I was like, I was, you know,
- 48:25walking into that theater or that, or venue as soon as I
- 48:32walked in to the space, you know, and you heard the, the,
- 48:39the birds and then everything chirping, right.
- 48:41And you smell the, the, the, the smell of the incense and
- 48:44everything. It was like it was, it was
- 48:46walking into a ritual space. And I've had heard so much about
- 48:51that, that, you know, these are rituals and I'd seen the videos
- 48:55online and I got, it's beautiful.
- 48:57It's amazing what they're doing. But to feel it in person, you
- 49:01know, I, I, I, I got it now. So because, you know, fans,
- 49:06followers, you know, supporters of Highland, they, they've
- 49:09always talked about the, the physical and the emotional
- 49:12transformation after a ritual, after seeing Highland live.
- 49:18I could definitely attest to that.
- 49:20You know, I knew what it meant from hearing it from others, but
- 49:25I was wanting to ask you like, what do you feel your presence
- 49:29in Hilung has contributed to the ceremonial aspect of the
- 49:33performance, right? Are there moments either before
- 49:37ritual starts or after or during that really kind of stay with
- 49:42you, that you carry with you from from performance to ritual
- 49:46to ritual to the next to the next?
- 49:48I don't know what's my character is bringing because I'm just
- 49:52bringing my own energy. I'm just bringing me, right?
- 49:55So this is like, I cannot tell, right?
- 49:59It's just like it's just I bring me.
- 50:03I bring me with all my love and connection to the rest of the,
- 50:11let's say the tribe rights and I bring, I think what I bring is
- 50:18an energy, which is obviously feminine because I'm a woman,
- 50:21right? So I think obviously I'm
- 50:23bringing feminine energy, right? I think it's like, but, but I'm
- 50:29I'm really unfiltered and I'm not trying to be pretty or I'm
- 50:33not trying to, you know, I'm not here to be demure.
- 50:39I'm not here to be soft. I'm not here to, you know, be
- 50:42like they like it's very female character, right together with
- 50:49my bandmate. I think we really like I think
- 50:52on body, this is this feminine power, which is like kind of I
- 50:58would say, yeah, I'm not politics somehow, right, right,
- 51:08right. And.
- 51:11Well, I think it's a great compliment to the overall, which
- 51:14is. Also contrasting with the energy
- 51:17of Maria. Sorry, yeah, I was, I was saying
- 51:21like, so this energy, this energy is like really like,
- 51:24because Maria is like obviously like she's, she's like, you
- 51:27know, she's a queen, she's a white queen, right?
- 51:30So she's bringing this very beautiful, solemn, but also
- 51:34soft, but also powerful, extremely like full of light
- 51:39energy, right? Like, so she's like, yeah,
- 51:42she's, she's, she's bringing this like, yeah, this is very
- 51:49pure energy, right? Like this very like, yeah, as
- 51:56her character is right. And we have more freedom in that
- 52:00sense that we can be, we can express difference, other type
- 52:06of energy. Yeah, well, what I think is
- 52:09beautiful is, is seeing the performance live and, and seeing
- 52:12the ritual unfold before our eyes in the live setting.
- 52:17There's so much to, to witness, you know, to from, I don't know,
- 52:21from, like from Christopher and, and Kai to Maria to Nicholas
- 52:25and, and Jacob and you and Anika and, and everybody is like who's
- 52:31doing what and, and, but it's, it's not chaotic, it's cohesive.
- 52:34Everybody role, everybody's place is complementing one
- 52:40another and it's weaving together in this beautiful
- 52:43theatrical, you know, weaving of myth and, and, and that's what I
- 52:49love, you know, the ritual theatre.
- 52:53So many people have attended real, like, you know, when we go
- 52:56to ritual ceremonies in our spirituality, there's this,
- 53:03there's a bit of that to it, you know, making and, and going to
- 53:06the space, realizing that we are stepping outside of our normal
- 53:11profane space. We are entering sacred space.
- 53:15Yeah. You know, and, and, and making
- 53:18it a bit theatrical puts us in that mindset of I'm no longer in
- 53:23the profane, you know, I'm in sacred space and time and things
- 53:27are happening outside of the normal thing.
- 53:30And that's a lot of what is, at least for me personally, is what
- 53:32I can say was like, you know, you lost.
- 53:35I lost track of time, you know, watching this unfold before.
- 53:39Me, yeah, sometime as well. I'm feeling like I'm a part of
- 53:42it, yeah. Yeah, sometimes.
- 53:44I wonder that's so much. Yeah, sorry.
- 53:48Yeah. I wonder if that's so much of
- 53:50what helps with being able to endure A5 to six year long run
- 53:57with this. You know what I mean?
- 53:58Like it's, I don't know of really many other performers,
- 54:04bands, musicians, etcetera who go on such a, a long tour run,
- 54:11you know what I mean? Without any breaks.
- 54:13Usually there's seasons, you know, like, oh, we'll, we'll
- 54:15take a break, we'll write some music, we'll go in the studio
- 54:18and then we'll prepare for, you know, a three month long tour
- 54:21run or a six month long tour run or whatever the case may be.
- 54:24And you'll come back and you'll take a break and then do it all
- 54:26over again, right? That wasn't the case for you
- 54:28guys. It was.
- 54:29It was hit the ground running. Yeah, Actually the thing that
- 54:33like we had, we were like in this pandemic thing for two
- 54:39years, so from 2019 to 2022. So like COVID hit in 2020,
- 54:46right? So we had a two year of
- 54:48basically nothing. And afterwards we had this like
- 54:523 years touring non-stop. That was very, very beautiful.
- 54:58And this is and this is now a break for a year and a half
- 55:03plus. We don't know exactly.
- 55:05And this is to create a new album, right?
- 55:08So actually, yeah, it's it's just like, yeah, there were this
- 55:12moment of pandemic, which is like put everything in the stop
- 55:15as we know. But yeah, I.
- 55:20Don't know, I, I, I think I can speak for everybody who hears
- 55:22this episode or or watches this, right?
- 55:25Like to know that there's, you know, everything that you've all
- 55:31done with the touring, with the work, with the, with the ritual
- 55:36and sharing it with the world. To know that there's something
- 55:41else coming. But for in the, in this time, in
- 55:44in this, in this moment of waiting, we're still, you know,
- 55:49that that fire is still within us.
- 55:50You know, like you, you've given us all so many wonderful gifts
- 55:54through the performance, through the ritual.
- 55:57You deserve the rest. And now let us keep it going.
- 56:01Kind of a thing. I don't know, I really like.
- 56:05It's very beautiful. We'll we'll keep the fire lit
- 56:09for you. You know, we'll we'll go rest
- 56:11now kind of a thing. You know you've you've.
- 56:13Got the time? So really quick, I know we're
- 56:16getting close to an hour here and I don't want to take up much
- 56:19more of your time, but I did just want to touch on something
- 56:23a bit outside of high lung and it and it was your more of your,
- 56:28you know, solo expression, creative visions.
- 56:33There's AI found it back. I think it was like 2014.
- 56:36You had an album a a solo project through the Galaxy kind
- 56:42of presents that like ambient, atmospheric soundscapes, kind of
- 56:46feels like a cosmic journey, you know, introspective.
- 56:50And so how has your musical style evolved since then,
- 56:56especially through later works like non Carmen or or other
- 56:59experimental vocal projects? OK, so first I think because
- 57:05like Mira City is a name which is like there is other artists
- 57:09wearing it. So it might be that it's it.
- 57:13Wasn't even you. Yeah, because like, yeah, it's
- 57:19all right. Because like, yeah, we don't
- 57:22like, unfortunately it's like a name that is worn by many
- 57:25people. This is my, my name is my name.
- 57:29But the city is like, so the double is like, yeah, it's used
- 57:34by different people, right? So because me, I've always,
- 57:38always worked with voice. Voice is my complete addiction.
- 57:49So yeah, it's really like, it's really all about it.
- 57:53It has always been all about voices.
- 57:55But if I could answer your question, I would say that first
- 57:58my voice was really raw. It was just a voice with
- 58:01harmonies. And then I added all this like
- 58:05texture, like because I started to work with Nick, which is the
- 58:10producer I'm working with, and we create all the music together
- 58:14and he's really adding this kind of experimental vibe, like
- 58:18experimental sounds and stuff and etheric like keys and stuff
- 58:24like that. So it's really something I
- 58:26think, yeah. So the evolution of my style, I
- 58:29would say it's like from very pure voices with nothing around
- 58:32to to like the prediction I'm releasing nowadays.
- 58:40I hear ya. Yeah, it's been a beautiful.
- 58:42Again, my apologies for for. It's alright.
- 58:45That was that. That should have been an obvious
- 58:47catch that had really done more in depth.
- 58:50So I apologize for that. But I do understand what you're
- 58:53saying. You know, like how you know, you
- 58:54start off with a certain way and and your voice is your like,
- 58:59that's your instrument, I guess, you know, and and crafting,
- 59:02crafting that instrument be getting better at it.
- 59:04Like things are going to change and evolve.
- 59:07I think everybody though, who who has listened to your stuff,
- 59:11whether it's been with high lung or, you know, your solo work, I
- 59:15would say that almost everybody hearing it would say that, you
- 59:17know, this, your music evokes long buried emotions, right?
- 59:22Things that have been deep within us, maybe that we've
- 59:24never given space to and that it kind of awakens our connection
- 59:31to these things. You know, it goes back to what
- 59:34we were talking about before, how you know, music in this
- 59:37universal language, right feelings.
- 59:40It doesn't matter what the lyrics are or the language that
- 59:43it's spoken in the sound, the the spirit of it is, is a
- 59:46universal language. So I was just curious, like do
- 59:49you ever think about what makes your voice, your voice
- 59:52specifically, whether it's working through, you know, your
- 59:56solo Mira Seti music or in high lung, right?
- 1:00:00What makes your voice so viscerally affected or affecting
- 1:00:04to people? Like why?
- 1:00:05Why do you think that that people are saying these things
- 1:00:07about it? Like, have you ever thought
- 1:00:09about that? I.
- 1:00:11Really don't know because no, I never questioned myself about
- 1:00:15it. The only thing I'm questioning
- 1:00:17myself is like like, do I really feel my own voice?
- 1:00:21Like in the sense like does it vibrate the way I want it to
- 1:00:24vibrate, right? Like it's like, so it's OK.
- 1:00:28So one of my teachers, she was telling me if you don't feel
- 1:00:31anything, the audience will not feel anything either.
- 1:00:35Because what you are doing when you are singing is you are
- 1:00:38entering a space, right? It's like you are entering a
- 1:00:40space of vibration where first of all, it's pleasant for your
- 1:00:44body, right? And it's pleasant for also for
- 1:00:47all your insight and like, because you can express thing
- 1:00:50and you like so. So this is like the question I'm
- 1:00:55always asking myself is like, is it is my instrument working the
- 1:00:59way I want it to work? And is it like good, like let's
- 1:01:05say, yeah, it's like, is it healthy?
- 1:01:07Also, I have to think a lot about my vocal health and stuff
- 1:01:10like that. So it's really about, it's a
- 1:01:11work about taking care of my instrument and it's a work about
- 1:01:14making, making it like the best possible, right?
- 1:01:18Because this is what I want to off to offer to, to, to the
- 1:01:21world. So yeah.
- 1:01:23So I think this is like really my research is to try to, to,
- 1:01:28to, it's not trying actually, it's feeling, it's like feeling
- 1:01:32the vibration, right? Feeling the vibration, feeling
- 1:01:35the song, feeling the emotion, feeling the emotion of the song
- 1:01:39and expressing it. And then I really don't know
- 1:01:42afterwards what it, what it does to people.
- 1:01:45It's not really after, after that.
- 1:01:48I'm not questioning that much about it.
- 1:01:52Well, I hope that that gives you at least because I'm, as I said,
- 1:01:54I know I, I can comfortably speak on behalf of a lot of
- 1:01:57people that this is accurate. I mean, this is true.
- 1:02:02It's if I'm feeling it, if I'm feeling that way, then I'm sure
- 1:02:06others are as well. So I hope that that reaches you
- 1:02:10and, and gives you some sense of peace or accomplishment.
- 1:02:15You know what I mean? What you're doing is, is, is
- 1:02:16affecting positively a lot of people.
- 1:02:20Thank you so much. This is very, very nice to hear,
- 1:02:22obviously, because once you release your songs, once you
- 1:02:26release your your voice outside, then it's always nice to to have
- 1:02:31a nickel. It's like, oh, OK, nice.
- 1:02:35Right. Yeah, Yeah, that affirmation.
- 1:02:37Yeah, for sure. I do want to ask one last thing
- 1:02:41before we wrap up is can you tell us anything that the that,
- 1:02:45that we could look forward to from you in the coming year?
- 1:02:49We'll say maybe or near future, whether it's solo releases,
- 1:02:53collaborations, projects, tours, creative expressions, anything
- 1:02:57that we could look forward to from you.
- 1:02:59So yeah, so this year I'm going to focus a lot more on my
- 1:03:02project, on my solo project. So I will release a single the
- 1:03:1020th of September. So it's very soon actually.
- 1:03:15So it's next week, something like that.
- 1:03:18Then I'm going to release 2 videos.
- 1:03:24It's not announced yet, but you can expect the like not too
- 1:03:30late. I mean in 20252026.
- 1:03:35Yeah, yeah. I will release some some videos.
- 1:03:40Maybe another reaction video coming?
- 1:03:43Yeah, maybe, Maybe. Lastly, lastly, there was
- 1:03:50something that you might remember a couple years ago, I
- 1:03:55think it was probably 2023 you had, and I don't remember where
- 1:04:03it was, might have been Chicago, might have been Colorado Red
- 1:04:09Rocks. I don't remember exactly.
- 1:04:10But you, you met up with a friend of mine, Patrick.
- 1:04:15Yeah, I remember. And.
- 1:04:19Yeah, that's pretty true. I remember this, yeah.
- 1:04:23Yep. So I still have that and I
- 1:04:24wanted to show you that I, I never, you know, I think I
- 1:04:29shared a post about it and thanked you online, but I never,
- 1:04:33I never expected to get the chance to have some screen time
- 1:04:37with you to show you like, hey, I've still got it and thank you
- 1:04:40again for that gesture and that gift.
- 1:04:42So in a way, you know, we talk about or we talked earlier about
- 1:04:49reciprocity, you know what I mean?
- 1:04:52And so thank you for this gift. And I hope that our time
- 1:04:55together today on this interview, on this chat is is a
- 1:05:00is a is an acceptable gift in return to give you talk to my
- 1:05:05audience and talk about your work and maybe get some new
- 1:05:08people to become familiar with what you're what you're doing
- 1:05:12and looking forward to things that you're doing in the future.
- 1:05:16Yeah. Thank you so much, Jesse.
- 1:05:18Yeah, it was really, really nice being here.
- 1:05:20Thank you. I had a wonderful time.
- 1:05:23I'm going to wrap this up. Don't go anywhere real quick.
- 1:05:26I'm just going to sign everybody off like I'd always do.
- 1:05:28And then I'll, I'll, I'll take, I'll talk with you when we're
- 1:05:31done recording just for a few minutes, if that's OK.
- 1:05:34Yeah, it's true. Before we go, are there any
- 1:05:36parting words that you would like to give to my audience
- 1:05:39today? This is very nice.
- 1:05:47Yeah, I don't know, really. It's just about, yeah, feeling
- 1:05:56connection. Feeling, feeling connection.
- 1:05:59That's it. Yeah.
- 1:06:00Yeah, touch the earth, get your bare skin in the Earth and talk
- 1:06:03about connecting right, That that's the best way.
- 1:06:07Mirror setting. Thank you so much for being my
- 1:06:09guest this week and and talking with us about so many wonderful
- 1:06:13things. Really appreciate your time.
