- 0:00Speaker 1: What's up on Monica struck from the Last Matter and
- 0:02Speaker 1: we are releasing a brand new single called brain Right
- 0:06Speaker 1: and you're with Heavy.
- 0:07Speaker 2: You are and I'm with Monica. Thanks for joining us today,
- 0:11Speaker 2: Thanks for having me no pleasure.
- 0:13Speaker 3: So before we get into the serious stuff of the
- 0:15Speaker 3: actual music, mail Light, I just want to say on
- 0:17Speaker 3: behalf of the Heavy team and massive congratulations for taking
- 0:20Speaker 3: out the Women in Heavy Music Awards at the recent
- 0:23Speaker 3: AWMAs in Brisbane.
- 0:24Speaker 2: Mate, like, well deserved congratulations, Thank you.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, I'm still on a high. And the
- 0:31Speaker 1: coolest thing is I have like a physical trophy. I've
- 0:34Speaker 1: not got a physical trophy for anything since primary school, like,
- 0:38Speaker 1: and it was probably a participation trophy. So this feels
- 0:41Speaker 1: really special there you.
- 0:43Speaker 2: Do love it.
- 0:44Speaker 3: You obviously knew you had a fair chance of winning,
- 0:46Speaker 3: given the finalists being cut back to three, But what
- 0:48Speaker 3: was going through your head first when they were publicly
- 0:50Speaker 3: announcing the nominees and then when your names were out
- 0:53Speaker 3: as winner, Light, what was your first source?
- 0:55Speaker 1: Well, I distinctly remember getting the email because they basically
- 0:59Speaker 1: email you and tell you that you've made it as
- 1:01Speaker 1: a finalist, and you don't know who the other finalists
- 1:04Speaker 1: are until we publicly announced, but I believe they emailed
- 1:07Speaker 1: me the day before and then they announced the finalists
- 1:10Speaker 1: on the next day. And it's cool because, I mean,
- 1:14Speaker 1: everyone in the heavy scene kind of knows each other,
- 1:18Speaker 1: so I mean I definitely knew one of the finalists, Christy,
- 1:21Speaker 1: who does amazing work in film. And you know, just
- 1:23Speaker 1: looking back on the past kind of like nominees and winners,
- 1:27Speaker 1: you kind of think, oh.
- 1:28Speaker 4: My gosh, like I'm one of I'm one of them,
- 1:31Speaker 4: like I'm part of the crew. So yeah, I feel
- 1:34Speaker 4: very honored.
- 1:35Speaker 3: Well, disclosure here, I actually do the day before that
- 1:37Speaker 3: you'd won, because they sent many a list of winners,
- 1:39Speaker 3: and do you know how hard it was for me
- 1:41Speaker 3: not to tell you?
- 1:42Speaker 2: It was like but it's like every time I looked
- 1:46Speaker 2: at you, I'm just like.
- 1:48Speaker 1: Oh my god, Well you did very well to keep
- 1:51Speaker 1: that secret, because I would have I would have like,
- 1:54Speaker 1: I definitely spilt that if it was me. I would
- 1:57Speaker 1: like had like a drink and been like, by.
- 1:59Speaker 2: The way that microphone, Well you could have.
- 2:02Speaker 4: Told me, Chris, I would have been better prepared with
- 2:04Speaker 4: my speech.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Sorry, that's right. Special mention must go to the other
- 2:12Speaker 3: two nominees as well. There was Leah mart Brown and
- 2:14Speaker 3: Chrissy mccluy, who both would have been deserving winners, but
- 2:17Speaker 3: as they say that, there can only be one and
- 2:19Speaker 3: I'm glad it was you.
- 2:21Speaker 4: Oh that means so much.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Yeah, Lea actually released her first album at the time
- 2:27Speaker 1: that we're speaking, so I've actually spent the day just
- 2:29Speaker 1: listening to that and it's been called cool to connect
- 2:32Speaker 1: with She's La based, but it's been cool to connect
- 2:35Speaker 1: with another fellow heavy music you know creator.
- 2:40Speaker 2: And you received the.
- 2:41Speaker 3: Award for all the work that you do and have
- 2:44Speaker 3: done within the Australian have you seen, both in the
- 2:46Speaker 3: public spotlight and behind the scenes. But what is actually
- 2:49Speaker 3: winning and being acknowledged by your peers mean to you personally?
- 2:52Speaker 1: Like, oh, I think it's just one of those milestones
- 3:00Speaker 1: that is so rare, especially in the music industry and
- 3:05Speaker 1: as a woman and in Australia, Like there's obviously like
- 3:09Speaker 1: the Arias that you really have to be so so
- 3:13Speaker 1: on top of your game to win an aria and
- 3:15Speaker 1: it's kind of like, you know, only the one percentage
- 3:18Speaker 1: when I don't know, not to not to finish the
- 3:21Speaker 1: ormonds or anything, but you know.
- 3:22Speaker 4: We don't have like many awards like.
- 3:25Speaker 1: This in Australia, and there's something really special about, you know,
- 3:29Speaker 1: even just being invited to the ceremony and there was
- 3:32Speaker 1: a conference the day before, and the fact that it
- 3:34Speaker 1: was a formal event that was televised on SBS.
- 3:37Speaker 4: Like this is just legit.
- 3:41Speaker 1: So it feels, you know, especially like I don't know
- 3:46Speaker 1: people watching this might relate, but you kind of sometimes
- 3:48Speaker 1: like keep the goal in this industry and you're like, well,
- 3:51Speaker 1: onto the next, Well that's great, Like I'm really glad
- 3:53Speaker 1: that I kicked that goal, Like, hey, what's next, What's next?
- 3:55Speaker 1: Whereas this is like because of the magnitude of it,
- 3:58Speaker 1: it really was one of those rare opportunities where I
- 4:00Speaker 1: could kind of sit and really trying to like take
- 4:03Speaker 1: in the moment and absorb it and not just be
- 4:05Speaker 1: onto the.
- 4:06Speaker 4: Next, but really just appreciate how far I've come.
- 4:09Speaker 1: And it's of course just absolutely I've been so overwhelmed
- 4:13Speaker 1: with the support and kind words.
- 4:15Speaker 4: I couldn't keep up with all the.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Messages and comments and everything like that. It really just
- 4:20Speaker 1: was just something else. So I'll always always remember this.
- 4:24Speaker 3: Yeah, of course, it takes more than one person to
- 4:27Speaker 3: build an empire, and its due to the efforts to
- 4:29Speaker 3: everyone from the young girl picking up the guitar for
- 4:31Speaker 3: the first time the season musicians still playing original music
- 4:34Speaker 3: at the local pub every weekend to actually make change.
- 4:37Speaker 3: So in effect, there's rewards for all those people out
- 4:40Speaker 3: there who might not get public acclamation, but there's still
- 4:43Speaker 3: a valuable part of Australian music industry.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:45Speaker 1: Well, one of the things that I wanted to say
- 4:47Speaker 1: in my speech was just how important visibility is, and
- 4:50Speaker 1: I talked about the fact that I didn't have any
- 4:53Speaker 1: any girls that I could look up to, you know,
- 4:55Speaker 1: when I started going to gigs, like all ages shows
- 4:57Speaker 1: in high school were like jumping around in the pit
- 4:59Speaker 1: me my girlfriends, but we never saw anyone on stage
- 5:02Speaker 1: that looked like us. But there's been a few pivotal
- 5:05Speaker 1: moments that even though I'm stubborn and I wanted to
- 5:09Speaker 1: do music, even though I didn't have like that many
- 5:12Speaker 1: role models, there's still been some really pivotabal pivotal moments
- 5:17Speaker 1: in my life and career where I've seen another woman
- 5:20Speaker 1: like do something really cool and I think, oh, if
- 5:23Speaker 1: she can do it, I can do it. And that's
- 5:26Speaker 1: happened like before I started learning to scream, Like I
- 5:29Speaker 1: discovered the Butcher Babies, and even though they don't play music,
- 5:34Speaker 1: that's that's similar to mine, just seeing like other women
- 5:37Speaker 1: kind of.
- 5:40Speaker 4: Like look the way that they look and be super.
- 5:42Speaker 1: Hyper feminine, but also do these brutal screams and have
- 5:45Speaker 1: such an energetic show, Like I've never really seen that
- 5:47Speaker 1: until that band, and then even since just you know,
- 5:51Speaker 1: now that we're kind of in the TikTok era as
- 5:53Speaker 1: much as you can kind of talk shit on it,
- 5:56Speaker 1: I'm exposed to all these like amazing women around the
- 5:59Speaker 1: world who doing their own brand of heavy music and
- 6:02Speaker 1: not really feeling the need to conform to what the
- 6:06Speaker 1: boys are doing, which is kind of always what I
- 6:09Speaker 1: felt like I had to do. And so yeah, we've
- 6:11Speaker 1: just got so much more visibility now and it's only
- 6:13Speaker 1: a good thing.
- 6:14Speaker 3: And that's really well said, actually, because until you said that,
- 6:17Speaker 3: I didn't even think about this. But like the way
- 6:19Speaker 3: my girls look up their Emmy and every time she
- 6:20Speaker 3: helps it down, they want to go and see her,
- 6:22Speaker 3: Like you wouldn't have had that growing up because it
- 6:24Speaker 3: wasn't as prevalent, but the way the way they look
- 6:26Speaker 3: up to her, it gives it gives you incentive and
- 6:29Speaker 3: hope for the future.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, it's really it's really important because you don't
- 6:35Speaker 1: realize that you can do something, or you don't feel
- 6:38Speaker 1: confident that you can do something unless someone kind of
- 6:40Speaker 1: paves the way before you, at least to some degree.
- 6:43Speaker 4: It doesn't have to be.
- 6:44Speaker 1: You know, exactly the same, but yeah, it's super important.
- 6:48Speaker 1: And whenever I see like especially like young girls in
- 6:50Speaker 1: the audience, like whenever we played all Ages shows or
- 6:54Speaker 1: something like that, that's always kind of extra special for me.
- 6:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:59Speaker 3: This is actually the third year that heavy music has
- 7:01Speaker 3: been recognized at the awards. Emmy won at the first year,
- 7:04Speaker 3: Tiana won the second year. You wanted this year. Like
- 7:08Speaker 3: being honest, in the last twelve months, if you girls
- 7:10Speaker 3: ever because he's a good mates, you've ever been standing
- 7:12Speaker 3: around and they've sort of gone, we got awoard Do
- 7:14Speaker 3: you haven't?
- 7:15Speaker 4: You haven't?
- 7:16Speaker 2: Now you can sort of say, oh, yes I have.
- 7:18Speaker 4: Well, yeah, I feel like a very special part of
- 7:21Speaker 4: the club.
- 7:23Speaker 1: But I mean, those girls deserve that award so much,
- 7:27Speaker 1: and I just think that any was the best person
- 7:31Speaker 1: to win it the first year, and Tiana I've always
- 7:34Speaker 1: looked up to Tiana, and she's had a really really
- 7:36Speaker 1: successful career as a publicist and as a music journalist herself,
- 7:40Speaker 1: owning her own platform and that sort of thing. So yeah,
- 7:44Speaker 1: it's just really sick that I get to kind of
- 7:46Speaker 1: again just let me part of that little club and
- 7:49Speaker 1: something that we all share.
- 7:51Speaker 3: I think the one biggest thing in common out of
- 7:53Speaker 3: all you three that I can pick up on is
- 7:55Speaker 3: that you's are all very humble, you know, And He's
- 7:57Speaker 3: like to give back to the scene that you're in,
- 8:00Speaker 3: and it's like, you couldn't get any better winners than
- 8:02Speaker 3: that than people who actually want to share the experience
- 8:05Speaker 3: with people.
- 8:06Speaker 4: Ah, well, thanks, I am. It's so funny.
- 8:10Speaker 1: My bandmates keep like teasing me and they keep calling
- 8:12Speaker 1: me like a like award winning artist Monica Strutt.
- 8:17Speaker 2: Just like shut up.
- 8:20Speaker 1: No, of course, of course they're like they're proud of me,
- 8:23Speaker 1: but yeah, so funny. I now keep saying it back
- 8:26Speaker 1: to them as a joke. We're in the studio and
- 8:27Speaker 1: I was like, award winning artist Monaka Strit doesn't agree
- 8:30Speaker 1: with that arrangement of this sole we need to change it.
- 8:34Speaker 3: Fantastic actually, speaking of bands like this is our left field.
- 8:38Speaker 3: But the three of you girls that are won in
- 8:40Speaker 3: last year. Like, if you if part of a winning
- 8:42Speaker 3: was you had to put a band together with the winners,
- 8:45Speaker 3: what would you three call yourselves as a metal band?
- 8:47Speaker 4: Oh?
- 8:49Speaker 1: Do you know what I think that the three of
- 8:51Speaker 1: us have in common. I think that we are all
- 8:54Speaker 1: like just fiend for some eighties rong. I feel like
- 9:00Speaker 1: I don't know this about Tiana, but I feel like
- 9:03Speaker 1: I feel like she'd vibed like the eighties rock.
- 9:05Speaker 4: But it's definitely something Amy and I have bonded over.
- 9:08Speaker 1: And I always have this like idea in my head
- 9:11Speaker 1: if I was going to start like an all girl
- 9:13Speaker 1: eighties rock band, it would be called Leopard Candy. And
- 9:18Speaker 1: so I think the three of us would start a
- 9:20Speaker 1: band called Leopard Candy and it would just be like
- 9:22Speaker 1: an eighties goe rock band and be like super cheesy
- 9:25Speaker 1: and just awesome massive.
- 9:27Speaker 3: Band with your vocals and emmys together. Though, like you
- 9:30Speaker 3: have to sing one song and you sed'd be famous.
- 9:32Speaker 3: I think it'd be great, meats.
- 9:34Speaker 4: I think the world's not ready for that.
- 9:37Speaker 2: Let us know when you are.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Well enough about you just by yourself, dear may like congratulations,
- 9:43Speaker 3: but let's move on because you've got a whole band
- 9:46Speaker 3: as well, called The Last Marta, and you're released in
- 9:48Speaker 3: your first new music in twelve months tomorrow for the
- 9:52Speaker 3: new single brain Rot. So tell us more about the track.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Yeah, so this is the first track that we've released
- 9:58Speaker 1: in a year. We had a Requiem come out around
- 10:01Speaker 1: this time twenty twenty four, and I feel like this
- 10:06Speaker 1: track is really the next evolution in our songwriting.
- 10:10Speaker 4: I mean thematically, it's kind of about the fact that we're.
- 10:13Speaker 1: So bombarded by media and you're kind of expected on
- 10:16Speaker 1: social media to have an opinion on absolutely everything, and
- 10:22Speaker 1: it kind of rots your brain, Like human brains aren't
- 10:24Speaker 1: meant to have this us much exposure to the opinions
- 10:28Speaker 1: of every single person in the world, and everyone has
- 10:30Speaker 1: an opinion online. So it's kind of about, first of all,
- 10:35Speaker 1: like steering clear of like the news, because the news
- 10:37Speaker 1: is like fear mongering and they always focus on the negative.
- 10:41Speaker 4: Secondly, it's kind.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Of this double edged sword because even if you ignore
- 10:45Speaker 1: the news, a lot of us use like social media
- 10:47Speaker 1: to kind of like you know, detach from the day
- 10:52Speaker 1: and to kind of like tune out of our day
- 10:54Speaker 1: and everything. But then of course we're still exposed to
- 10:58Speaker 1: the opinions of everything online. So it's kind of like
- 11:02Speaker 1: you're damned if you do, you damned if you don't.
- 11:04Speaker 1: And it's about like how the media kind of like
- 11:08Speaker 1: rots our brains, but also like kind of wanting to
- 11:11Speaker 1: disassociate and have a rotting brain to escape from the world.
- 11:15Speaker 4: So it's kind of got like two meaning it's getting.
- 11:18Speaker 2: Worse to you.
- 11:18Speaker 3: Like I've seen lately, like people that have a different
- 11:22Speaker 3: opinion to someone else online they're actually getting attacked for
- 11:25Speaker 3: having a different opinion.
- 11:26Speaker 4: You know.
- 11:26Speaker 3: It's like opinions are just that it's your view on something.
- 11:29Speaker 3: So someone's got to write and have a different opinion
- 11:31Speaker 3: to you. They've got to write to voice it. But
- 11:33Speaker 3: these days everyone just just piles on them and into
- 11:36Speaker 3: submission pretty much. And it's it's such a it's becoming
- 11:40Speaker 3: such a negative tool. It's instead of the positive thing.
- 11:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:43Speaker 1: Yeah, And I feel like on the internet a lot
- 11:46Speaker 1: of the time, there's no room for nuance.
- 11:49Speaker 4: It's kind of like this black and white thinking.
- 11:51Speaker 1: And first of all, it's really hard to convey nuance
- 11:54Speaker 1: and emotion via text. And then secondly, you know, because
- 11:58Speaker 1: of this kind of black and white thinking, there's not
- 12:00Speaker 1: that open mindedness of yeah, of just like, Okay, well
- 12:05Speaker 1: I don't agree with that opinion, but it shouldn't affect
- 12:08Speaker 1: you personally to have a different opinion to someone to
- 12:12Speaker 1: the degree where it makes you rush out. So I
- 12:16Speaker 1: feel like, yeah, there's a lot of like antisocial behavior.
- 12:18Speaker 1: I mean, there's a lot of like very very genuine
- 12:21Speaker 1: and open minded people on the internet. Of course there's
- 12:24Speaker 1: a balance, but but yeah, it's it's hard out there,
- 12:29Speaker 1: it's rough out there.
- 12:30Speaker 2: It is.
- 12:30Speaker 3: Indeed, you mentioned that it's been twelve months since Requiem
- 12:33Speaker 3: came out.
- 12:34Speaker 2: In this first single.
- 12:34Speaker 3: In that time, that was really well received, that EP
- 12:37Speaker 3: like it started to be on a really big tite
- 12:39Speaker 3: away for you guys, But then you wait twelve months
- 12:42Speaker 3: for the next thing. Was there was there a strategic
- 12:44Speaker 3: reason behind not striking while the iron was hot?
- 12:46Speaker 4: I guess, well, that's an interesting question, I guess.
- 12:51Speaker 1: I guess, I guess when you're thinking about like release cycles.
- 12:55Speaker 1: You know, we toured with Future Static pretty soon after
- 12:58Speaker 1: the back of that record, and then we went on
- 13:01Speaker 1: another tour in April with Behind Crimson Eyes, and then
- 13:05Speaker 1: because we're self funded, a lot of it just comes
- 13:07Speaker 1: down to like finances and logistics.
- 13:10Speaker 4: So by the time we actually wanted to.
- 13:12Speaker 1: Release this single a lot earlier, so we had it
- 13:14Speaker 1: planned for release, I believe, sort of like towards the
- 13:18Speaker 1: end of July or like early August or something like that,
- 13:22Speaker 1: but we thought we weren't going to do it justice
- 13:25Speaker 1: if we rushed it.
- 13:26Speaker 4: We sort of had the song ready.
- 13:28Speaker 1: But in terms of like being a musician is not
- 13:31Speaker 1: just about writing music.
- 13:32Speaker 4: It's as I.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Know that, you know, it's like you've got to prepare
- 13:35Speaker 1: all the contents and you've got to have like the
- 13:37Speaker 1: marketing for it.
- 13:38Speaker 4: And create the single artworks.
- 13:40Speaker 1: So I think we've delayed it a little bit because
- 13:44Speaker 1: just like literally due to logistical reasons. But now we're
- 13:50Speaker 1: sort of looking into twenty twenty six, and what I
- 13:52Speaker 1: can say is you will not have to wait this
- 13:55Speaker 1: long again for new music.
- 13:57Speaker 4: We're going to have a lot of a lot of
- 13:59Speaker 4: music come next year.
- 14:01Speaker 3: Good end the press release also, I says that not
- 14:03Speaker 3: listen to some I agree with him, but it calls
- 14:06Speaker 3: it a bold return to your new metal chorn roots,
- 14:08Speaker 3: like why go back down that path?
- 14:13Speaker 4: Ah hmmm, I think like you make me think on
- 14:20Speaker 4: a Thursday here, I don't know.
- 14:24Speaker 1: We always just a band that experiments so much with genres,
- 14:28Speaker 1: Like we've written songs with like trap beats in there,
- 14:30Speaker 1: like written songs where I kind of like rap, and
- 14:33Speaker 1: this one's like.
- 14:33Speaker 4: Definitely got a bit of a new.
- 14:34Speaker 1: Metal play, and like the guitars, and definitely like the
- 14:37Speaker 1: delivery of the vocals, and I think like one thing
- 14:41Speaker 1: that it reminds me of, even though the two different
- 14:44Speaker 1: songs are.
- 14:44Speaker 4: You know, when we sort of had our sort of.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Big relaunch in twenty twenty one, we released our single Hindsight,
- 14:51Speaker 1: which was very very like new metal core, and people
- 14:53Speaker 1: really resonated with that. So this kind of feels like
- 14:56Speaker 1: a bit of a homecoming and like homage to that
- 14:59Speaker 1: original sound that we had, but it's just refined a
- 15:03Speaker 1: lot more. But I don't know, we just we just
- 15:05Speaker 1: sometimes just want to write like music that's like heavy and.
- 15:10Speaker 4: That we want to mosh to ourselves.
- 15:13Speaker 3: I actually, when I was listened to it, I like,
- 15:15Speaker 3: in this song to a schizophrenic Tornado that in my
- 15:19Speaker 3: head when I was listener, it was great.
- 15:21Speaker 4: I love it. That's gonna We're gonna replace that in
- 15:24Speaker 4: the PRESSA Now.
- 15:28Speaker 3: Is this a standalone single? For the band or is
- 15:30Speaker 3: it part of a bigger picture.
- 15:32Speaker 4: I don't know yet. At the moment, it's a standalone
- 15:38Speaker 4: I don't know. I mean, I like the thought of
- 15:39Speaker 4: working towards an album. We definitely haven't discussed that as
- 15:42Speaker 4: a band necessarily.
- 15:46Speaker 1: I like the idea of putting it on an EP,
- 15:48Speaker 1: and I don't mind the idea of it being a
- 15:50Speaker 1: standalone single. So I think it's going to be one
- 15:52Speaker 1: of those things where as we kind of release more
- 15:55Speaker 1: music into next year, we'll have a better picture of
- 15:58Speaker 1: what do we want this to be like? Do we
- 15:59Speaker 1: want to be part of a larger body of work
- 16:01Speaker 1: and what that's going to look like, or is it
- 16:04Speaker 1: just a vibe to have it sort of out there
- 16:06Speaker 1: as a single and work on something bigger later.
- 16:08Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 16:09Speaker 2: I don't like that answer.
- 16:12Speaker 4: How vague is that?
- 16:14Speaker 3: What I am going to ask is that is it
- 16:16Speaker 3: representative of the future direction the band's going to be
- 16:18Speaker 3: going back down that path?
- 16:19Speaker 2: Or are you still experiment a little bit.
- 16:22Speaker 4: We're always going to experiment.
- 16:24Speaker 1: We're never going to be a band that sticks with
- 16:26Speaker 1: a certain sound and then just cut copy paste.
- 16:30Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 16:31Speaker 1: We have too many ideas and we always kind of
- 16:33Speaker 1: want to be pushing ourselves as artists. But what I
- 16:35Speaker 1: will say is I feel like this song and the
- 16:38Speaker 1: next batch of songs the best songwriting that we've ever
- 16:43Speaker 1: done in terms of arrangements and everything like that. So
- 16:48Speaker 1: I feel like, even though we're always going to be evolving,
- 16:51Speaker 1: I feel like we have landed with this song in particular,
- 16:55Speaker 1: at a sound that feels really really authentic to us.
- 16:58Speaker 4: And that's kind of cool.
- 17:00Speaker 2: That was very much more cancer. Thank you. So you're
- 17:05Speaker 2: going to be celebrated with a gig at Max whatso,
- 17:07Speaker 2: I believe on November the fifteenth as well, So tell
- 17:09Speaker 2: us about that.
- 17:10Speaker 1: Yeah, so supporting Trenton would lease new project Ladders on tables.
- 17:15Speaker 4: So for those who don't know, Trenton.
- 17:17Speaker 1: Was the just got that really told me because I
- 17:21Speaker 1: don't get it, I need to.
- 17:22Speaker 2: Ask hands Like Houses of ladders on tables.
- 17:25Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I guess I can kind of see that.
- 17:28Speaker 1: Well, Yeah, he was Hands Like Houses front person for
- 17:31Speaker 1: a very long time and it's it's this is a
- 17:34Speaker 1: really cool show to kind of debut this song because
- 17:38Speaker 1: actually one of the last times that we played Max
- 17:41Speaker 1: Watts was actually supporting Hands Like Houses when Trenton was
- 17:43Speaker 1: still in the band, So it's a bit of a
- 17:45Speaker 1: full circle moment and it's really cool that he remembered
- 17:48Speaker 1: us and invited us to be the support on this show.
- 17:52Speaker 1: He's doing sort of some reimagined versions of hands like
- 17:56Speaker 1: housing tracks and I think some originally some original stuff
- 18:01Speaker 1: to this project.
- 18:01Speaker 4: I'm not really sure. We'll have to see.
- 18:03Speaker 1: But we're also playing with our good friends days like
- 18:06Speaker 1: these who are just so sick live and I just
- 18:09Speaker 1: think the vibes are going to be there and so
- 18:12Speaker 1: the audience is going to feel that, you know, because
- 18:14Speaker 1: we're excited, so I feel like the audience is going
- 18:16Speaker 1: to be excited as well.
- 18:17Speaker 3: Oh yeah, and if you've got any other shows coming
- 18:19Speaker 3: up to around off the year or is that it
- 18:20Speaker 3: for now?
- 18:22Speaker 4: Nothing confirmed. I hope that we, you know, we might
- 18:25Speaker 4: be able to jump on a few more shows. But
- 18:28Speaker 4: I think next year we're definitely going to be pounding
- 18:30Speaker 4: the pavement a lot more and trying to get to
- 18:32Speaker 4: some cities that we've never been to before as well.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Like one of one of our goals is to you know,
- 18:37Speaker 1: have the opportunity to play places like Perth, to play Adelaide.
- 18:40Speaker 4: A bit more.
- 18:41Speaker 1: I mean, we've done Sydney and Brisbane so many times
- 18:44Speaker 1: over the years, and of course Melbourne our home, our
- 18:47Speaker 1: home city, but it would be nice to kind of
- 18:49Speaker 1: go to some new places and keep you know, being
- 18:52Speaker 1: in touch with the fans.
- 18:53Speaker 2: For nice Now, thanks very much for your time a pleasure.
- 18:57Speaker 3: As always, the single Brain Rot is out tomorrow, Halloween,
- 19:01Speaker 3: October thirty first, great way to celebrate.
- 19:04Speaker 4: Thank you so much, appreciate you celebrating with us.
