INTRODUCTION
Genesis 23 marks the passing of Sarah, the first matriarch of the covenant. She is the only woman in the Bible whose:
age at death is recorded,
burial place is described in detail,
land purchase is documented with legal witnesses.
Why? Because Sarah is a covenant mother, and her burial site becomes the first piece of the Promised Land ever legally possessed by Abraham.
It teaches us that:
God’s covenant includes our legacy
Covenant people think beyond their lifetime
