- 0:49[SPEAKER_02]: Hey friend, welcome back to Bible Tract Echoes.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_02]: I'm Mike McCurray, your host.
- 0:53[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much for joining me once again today.
- 0:56[SPEAKER_02]: I have been enjoying this week of broadcasts, not because I'm not the one talking.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_02]: I truly do enjoy talking to each of you and the fact that you give me time to commune with you just a little bit to communicate.
- 1:10[SPEAKER_02]: I appreciate your investment of time, especially those of you that are faithful listeners, whether you listen via podcast or so many of you.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_02]: Thousands of you listen on radio day after day and I'm so thankful for that.
- 1:24[SPEAKER_02]: I hope what we've been hearing this week has been helpful.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_02]: If you're new to the broadcast this week, we've been hearing from a friend of mine.
- 1:33[SPEAKER_02]: His name is Matt Payne.
- 1:34[SPEAKER_02]: He's one of the assistants at my home church.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_02]: He does a wonderful job expounding for us from Scripture.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_02]: This is such a Scripture soaked lesson and study and message on prayer and how Jesus prayed.
- 1:49[SPEAKER_02]: Today we're going to dive into a segment about asking God for a big
- 1:55[SPEAKER_02]: and little things.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_02]: You know, sometimes I'll speak for myself, sometimes I relegate some areas of life as being too little to pray for.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_02]: You know, when we get slapped with a with a with a really dangerous or or a scary medical diagnosis, oh, absolutely, it's time to pray.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_02]: when we get a big bill and we're financially strapped.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, it's time to pray.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_02]: When our car breaks down, oh, it's time to pray.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_02]: But there are some times that we treat some things as too small for God's notice.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't believe that's the way things should be.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_02]: Jesus didn't ask that, didn't act that way.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_02]: And so we're gonna learn from Jesus.
- 2:34[SPEAKER_02]: And actually that's what Matt has been doing this entire week.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_02]: He's been teaching us from the life of Christ.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_02]: prayed.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_02]: And we're going to learn about asking God for big and little things.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_02]: Listen now to my friend Matt Payne as he continues this lesson.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_04]: Many times our prayer life is hindered because we don't actually ask.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_04]: We don't ask.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_04]: We don't ask.
- 3:01[SPEAKER_04]: We don't ask God for the big things because we don't ask God for the small things.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_04]: And we don't ask God for the little things.
- 3:08[SPEAKER_04]: We don't even think to ask about the big things
- 3:13[SPEAKER_04]: But we're constantly asking God, hey, I need help with this thing.
- 3:16[SPEAKER_04]: I need help with this thing.
- 3:17[SPEAKER_04]: I need your answer to prayer in this.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_04]: I need your answer to prayer in this.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_04]: When we get to those monumental things where you have this dream, this idea of what God could do, whatever the situation might be, what happens.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_04]: Well, yeah, I'm not gonna pray about that.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_04]: No, God says, if I did it, you can do it.
- 3:36[SPEAKER_04]: And not only that, you can do greater.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_04]: I think too many times we fall short of what God wants us to achieve because we never stop and ask for it.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_04]: Last few weeks, I've been constantly running into this in my Bible reading.
- 3:49[SPEAKER_04]: It seems like everywhere I read in the Bible is talking about prayer.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_04]: Everywhere I read in the Bible is talking about people who get things from God.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_04]: Why?
- 3:55[SPEAKER_04]: Because they asked.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_04]: Sometimes we relegate in our mind, these are the things I can ask God for, and these things are too small, and these things are too big, and these things aren't important, so I'm not gonna ask.
- 4:07[SPEAKER_04]: Cause, by all says pray about everything.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_04]: But we're guilty of segmenting our prayer life into not important and importants.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_04]: And as a result, we miss out on what God could do.
- 4:19[SPEAKER_04]: Jesus said, I'm going to leave you and He talks about in the computer and the rest of this chapter.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_04]: He's going to leave us with the Holy Spirit, why?
- 4:25[SPEAKER_04]: So we can have access to the power, living inside of us.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_04]: And we miss it.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_04]: He gave us the example of prayer because He wanted us to pray.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_04]: He taught his disciples to pray because it was an important factor and then continuing to do what they needed to do for God after he was gone.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_04]: Jesus is not here in physical form dwelling among us, doing miracles.
- 4:45[SPEAKER_04]: But he's left us with the same Holy Spirit that he told the disciples they could have to do the same things that he did.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_04]: What do we even ask?
- 4:56[SPEAKER_04]: Do we ask?
- 4:57[SPEAKER_04]: And all?
- 5:01[SPEAKER_04]: Look at John chapter 15,
- 5:09[SPEAKER_04]: 15 of verse number seven, it says, if you abide in me and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will and it shall be done unto you.
- 5:18[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe that's why we don't pray big prayers.
- 5:24[SPEAKER_04]: Because we know we're not standing in the spot to actually get the answer.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_04]: He said, if you abide in me, if, I mean I can or I cannot.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_04]: And my words abide in you.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_04]: Then it says, you shall ask what you will.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_04]: and it shall be done.
- 5:39[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe the reason we relegate our prayer life is because I know my relationship is good enough with God because I've been reading my Bible just enough to get these little things answered.
- 5:47[SPEAKER_04]: But I haven't been living the way I'm supposed to be to ask God for the big things.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_04]: If He abided me.
- 6:03[SPEAKER_04]: Jesus told His disciples, you have access to the same power I have.
- 6:06[SPEAKER_04]: You have the ability to perform the same miracles I'm performing.
- 6:09[SPEAKER_04]: You have the ability to get even greater things, but then He also said, if He invited me.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_04]: And my words abide in you.
- 6:16[SPEAKER_04]: That means I have to stop and take the time to open up the Word of God and get along with God.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_04]: And know what God wants me to do, and then I actually have to go out and execute that, which God wants me to do.
- 6:26[SPEAKER_04]: You know, it's not enough just for your children to listen to you given instructions, right?
- 6:31[SPEAKER_04]: You actually want them to turn around and follow through and finish it.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_04]: Your boss doesn't just come by your workstation and tell you what he wants you to accomplish and then leave and comes back and it's not done and he's okay with it.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_04]: Now, if he gives you something to do, he wants you to accomplish it.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_04]: That's the point of giving directions, right?
- 6:47[SPEAKER_04]: If you continue in that pathway as a child, you're gonna get a whole bunch of trouble.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_04]: If you continue doing that at work, you're gonna get fired.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_04]: Like, as your worthless, your waste of space,
- 6:58[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe God's not as mean as I am, but I think sometimes God doesn't answer our perrequest because he said, you haven't done what I asked you to do.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_04]: Why would I give you that?
- 7:07[SPEAKER_04]: You haven't done what I've told you to do.
- 7:09[SPEAKER_04]: Why would I answer that?
- 7:10[SPEAKER_04]: Now God's a whole lot more merciful than me.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_04]: But maybe that's why I don't ask.
- 7:18[SPEAKER_04]: You know, it's like when you get in trouble at home, you're afraid to ask your parents for something.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_04]: You know they would probably give it to you, but you're afraid to ask because you know you've messed up and maybe they haven't found out yet and you don't want to expose it?
- 7:30[SPEAKER_04]: Now, Jesus said, if you abide in me and my words abide in you, you shall ask what you will.
- 7:36[SPEAKER_04]: My prayer life can be increased when I simply stop and realize it's more important to abide with him than it is to abide in me.
- 7:44[SPEAKER_04]: Look at my Ithacheptor 17.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_04]: Matthew chapter 17.
- 7:54[SPEAKER_04]: Jesus wanted His disciples to realize that they could do what He could do if they would simply ask.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_04]: Matthew chapter 17 of verse number 20, actually look at verse 19.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_04]: Then came the disciples to Jesus' part and said, why could not we cast Him out speaking of the demon?
- 8:18[SPEAKER_04]: And Jesus said unto them, because of your unbelief, for verily I say unto you, if he have faith as the grain of a mustard seed, he shall say unto this mountain, remove hence to yonder place, and it shall move, and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
- 8:30[SPEAKER_04]: How be it, this kind goeth not forth, but by prayer and fasting?
- 8:36[SPEAKER_04]: God wants us to ask for big things.
- 8:39[SPEAKER_04]: God doesn't want us to live our lives only asking for the tangible things.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_04]: The little things, the small things.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_04]: You want us to ask for the big things?
- 8:48[SPEAKER_04]: Why in the world would the disciples need to take a mountain and move it?
- 8:54[SPEAKER_04]: It seems like a very impractical request.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_04]: Lord, I don't really like that mountain there.
- 8:58[SPEAKER_04]: Could you move it over here?
- 8:59[SPEAKER_04]: It would be more decorative in this location.
- 9:02[SPEAKER_04]: Why would I?
- 9:03[SPEAKER_04]: Why would I need it?
- 9:03[SPEAKER_04]: I'm out in the move.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_04]: It seems like such an impractical unnecessary prayer.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_04]: But Jesus said, if you have faith, I'll take them out in the move, it just because you've asked.
- 9:13[SPEAKER_04]: And then he adds in the end, how be it this kind of goeth not forthbutt by prayer and fasting?
- 9:20[SPEAKER_04]: What am I willing to give up to get what I want from God?
- 9:24[SPEAKER_04]: My willing to give up my time, my willing to give up my eating habits, and my willing to give up my sleep, and my, what am I willing to give up inside God?
- 9:31[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not gonna do this, and I must spend this time in prayer.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe it's a hobby, maybe it's something that you enjoy doing.
- 9:37[SPEAKER_04]: I'm not gonna do this anymore, because I wanna pray.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_04]: No, I'm not gonna eat during this time, because I wanna pray.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe I wanna go for a day without eating.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe I'm gonna take this time and separate myself.
- 9:46[SPEAKER_02]: What?
- 9:47[SPEAKER_04]: I want something, from God.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_04]: I want something big from God.
- 9:52[SPEAKER_04]: I don't want just a little piece.
- 9:55[SPEAKER_04]: You know, persistency and prayer is necessary.
- 9:58[SPEAKER_04]: But if I want to see God do something big, sometimes I've got to ask big requests and I've got to keep asking them and keep asking them and keep asking them and keep asking them and say Lord, I'm serious, I really do want this.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_04]: The disciples couldn't cast out the demon and they were upset.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_04]: They were befuddled.
- 10:14[SPEAKER_04]: They didn't understand because they had already been doing miracles.
- 10:17[SPEAKER_04]: They had already been performing miracles all over the country, but this one they couldn't do.
- 10:23[SPEAKER_04]: It said, God, why are we limited to this?
- 10:25[SPEAKER_04]: And Jesus didn't say it was because they were in competition, he said, you're faith.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_04]: You're unbelief.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think that God actually can.
- 10:33[SPEAKER_04]: James talks about that.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_04]: And James chapter number one, asking believing that he can.
- 10:40[SPEAKER_04]: Sometimes I think we don't pray the big prayers because we don't believe God can.
- 10:43[SPEAKER_04]: Then we get up the courage to pray the big prayers, but we don't really believe that He can't, no, I gotta pray, believe in the God can.
- 10:50[SPEAKER_04]: That He is capable of answering the requests that I am bringing to Him.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_04]: Look at Luke chapter 18 of verse number one.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_04]: Luke chapter 18 of verse number one.
- 11:06[SPEAKER_04]: Don't worry, I'm winding down.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_04]: Luke chapter 18 of verse number one.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_04]: finish up on this thought, Luke chapter 18, verse number one, and he spoke a parable unto them to this end that meant always to pray and not to faint.
- 11:23[SPEAKER_04]: Saying there was an acidity at judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man, and there was a widow in that city, and she came into him saying, avenge me of my adversary, and he would not for a while, but afterward he said within himself.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_04]: Though I fear not God, nor regard man,
- 11:38[SPEAKER_04]: Yet because this widow troubled me, I will avenge her, unless by her continual coming, she weary me.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_04]: And the Lord said, here with the unjust judge, sayeth, and shall not God avenge his own elect, which cried day and night into him, and though he bear along with them.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_04]: And I've always wondered about that verse, because in my mind, I've prayed for things a lot.
- 12:01[SPEAKER_04]: I know some people who've prayed for things a lot, and haven't got the answer.
- 12:07[SPEAKER_04]: feet my head against the wall, if you will, on that concept.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_04]: God, if you told me to pray about everything, you told me to be persistent, and we are persistent, but we don't see the answer.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_04]: We're studying Revelation in my clinical class, and Revelation, I don't think it's chapter 5, Jesus, God has a good beginning to pour out the judgment on the earth.
- 12:27[SPEAKER_04]: And I'll from under the altar in heaven, the Bible says that there are spirits that are praying, and they're asking Lord how long.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_04]: Jesus doesn't review him, he simply tells him, just hold on.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_04]: It's come.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_04]: That means we're all gone, we're all in heaven.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_04]: And there's prayers that God has heard and is going to answer, but has an answer yet.
- 12:48[SPEAKER_04]: He hasn't forgotten about them, just this in time.
- 12:52[SPEAKER_04]: He didn't neglect the prayer, he heard the prayer.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_04]: It's there.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_04]: It's awaiting his answer, just this in time.
- 12:58[SPEAKER_04]: And then, Luke 18, all of a sudden, made sense.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_04]: And it doesn't matter if I see the answer in my lifetime.
- 13:05[SPEAKER_04]: It doesn't matter if the person who's praying sees it in their lifetime.
- 13:09[SPEAKER_04]: God still hurt it.
- 13:10[SPEAKER_04]: God still can answer it.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_04]: Just may not be where I get to see it.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_04]: I may have to wait till I get to heaven to see the answer to their prayer.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_02]: I wonder am I willing or you willing to be patient?
- 13:24[SPEAKER_02]: We want things now now, don't we?
- 13:28[SPEAKER_02]: We like immediate gratification, but there are some things we may not get answers for.
- 13:34[SPEAKER_02]: for years, maybe even during our lifetime.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_02]: I so appreciate that point that Matt made there at the very end.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_02]: Tulin tomorrow as we can clue this study on Jesus and his prayer life here, on Bible Tract Echoes.
- 13:48[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much for listening.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_02]: Have a great day for his glory.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_02]: God bless.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_03]: Thank you for tuning in to Bible Tract Echoes, the radio ministry of Bible Tracts Incorporated.

- 14:29[SPEAKER_03]: Thanks again for listening.
- 14:31[SPEAKER_03]: May the Lord richly bless you as you live for Him.
- 58:46[SPEAKER_04]: And if I'm going to pray all the time, it's going to have to be, you know, I just told you earlier, we have our segment at time that we pray in the mornings, or in the evenings whenever it is that you do your devotions.
- 58:56[SPEAKER_04]: And that's wonderful.
- 58:57[SPEAKER_04]: A praying throughout the day is what God wants us to do, it's just pray without ceasing.
- 59:02[SPEAKER_04]: That's a difficult, in my opinion it is, maybe it's easy for you.
- 59:05[SPEAKER_04]: I have hard time with it.
- 59:07[SPEAKER_04]: And I got thinking about it a little bit.
- 59:09[SPEAKER_04]: And my wife has been gone on and off for the last two weeks.
- 59:12[SPEAKER_04]: Been gone for several days.
- 59:13[SPEAKER_04]: And she was back.
- 59:14[SPEAKER_04]: And she was gone for several days.
- 59:16[SPEAKER_04]: And you know what I noticed?
- 59:19[SPEAKER_04]: When I was at work, I did not miss my wife.
- 59:22[SPEAKER_04]: You say, you're a jerk.
- 59:24[SPEAKER_04]: Sorry, I didn't.
- 59:25[SPEAKER_04]: When I was at work, I didn't miss her.
- 59:27[SPEAKER_04]: But when I got home, I missed her.
- 59:30[SPEAKER_04]: You know why?
- 59:31[SPEAKER_04]: Because when I'm at work, she's not with me.
- 59:33[SPEAKER_04]: When I'm at work, I'm focusing on work.
- 59:36[SPEAKER_04]: When I'm at work, I'm not thinking about
- 59:39[SPEAKER_04]: But my wife is doing it at the moment.
- 59:41[SPEAKER_04]: But when I get home, like, oh, where's she at?
- 59:42[SPEAKER_04]: Man, the house is different.
- 59:44[SPEAKER_04]: Oh, I miss her because that's where she is.
- 59:48[SPEAKER_04]: And that's where I'm used to seeing her.
- 59:50[SPEAKER_04]: When my wife and I have gotten away, it hasn't even 24 hours.
- 59:54[SPEAKER_04]: She's like, I miss the kids.
- 59:56[SPEAKER_04]: Why?
- 59:59[SPEAKER_04]: Always.
- 1:00:00[SPEAKER_04]: How could you miss the kids?
- 1:00:02[SPEAKER_04]: We finally got away from them.
- 1:00:03[SPEAKER_04]: Why?
- 1:00:04[SPEAKER_04]: Because she's around them all the time.
- 1:00:07[SPEAKER_04]: And that constant presence is not there.
- 1:00:10[SPEAKER_04]: Therefore, she misses it.
- 1:00:12[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe that's why we don't pray all the time because we've relegated God to a box.
- 1:00:18[SPEAKER_04]: This is when I speak to you.
- 1:00:19[SPEAKER_04]: So we don't miss in the rest of the day because we're not used to talking to him in the rest of the day.
- 1:00:25[SPEAKER_04]: Whereas if we could flip that around, my wife spends all that time with the kids all day.
- 1:00:31[SPEAKER_04]: When they're not there, even though that presence is not always appreciated, it's still missed.
- 1:00:39[SPEAKER_04]: That means I'm going to have to start segmenting my day into time slots.
- 1:00:41[SPEAKER_04]: If you know what, no, I'm going to stop and pray a little bit here.
- 1:00:45[SPEAKER_04]: I don't need to, I don't necessarily need anything right now, but I'm going to stop and pray anyway.
- 1:00:47[SPEAKER_04]: That's what I've been doing, trying to do.
- 1:00:51[SPEAKER_04]: Start breaking my day.
- 1:00:52[SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to stop and pray for a little bit.
- 1:00:53[SPEAKER_04]: Why?
- 1:00:54[SPEAKER_04]: Because I want to get my frame of mind to that point where I gods on my mind, so I can pray.
- 1:01:01[SPEAKER_04]: I can communicate, because you know what happens when things don't go your way, which is the first thing we happen.
- 1:01:05[SPEAKER_04]: We lash out, because it's not functioning like it's supposed to, and if it's not working like it's supposed to, it's garbage, and it's junk, and it needs to go away and get out of my face, because it's have an oxygen annoying, even if it's a person.
- 1:01:16[SPEAKER_04]: But, right?
- 1:01:18[SPEAKER_04]: Don't look at me like that, you know it's true.
- 1:01:23[SPEAKER_04]: But when I'm constantly bringing up the fact that I'm praying throughout the day, man, the first time something doesn't work like it's supposed to, my first reaction is to talk to God because that's who I've been talking to throughout the day, randomly.
- 1:01:36[SPEAKER_04]: Not to just get mad at the situation.
- 1:01:37[SPEAKER_04]: No, I have somebody who has the answer, actually.
- 1:01:39[SPEAKER_04]: I've actually been talking just a minute ago.
- 1:01:41[SPEAKER_04]: Why don't we just, hey, can you fix this?
- 1:01:43[SPEAKER_04]: Can you give me some wisdom?
- 1:01:44[SPEAKER_04]: Because I don't know what I'm supposed to be doing here?
- 1:01:46[SPEAKER_04]: Asking God, praying constantly.
- 1:01:49[SPEAKER_04]: Look, it's not a easy thing to do, but it's something we should be striving for, making a plan.
- 1:01:55[SPEAKER_04]: How can I pray more?
- 1:01:57[SPEAKER_04]: If you don't have a time where you're set aside of you and God are praying alone, start there.
- 1:02:02[SPEAKER_04]: You're not going to pray throughout the day if you don't start with a specific time where I'm praying, where I'm supposed to be with God, and if that's there, hey, how about how would I start asking God for some big things?
- 1:02:17[SPEAKER_04]: I was reading in Joshua, or Judges, I don't remember which one Joshua, Caleb asks for that mountain.
- 1:02:23[SPEAKER_04]: He says, I want that mountain.
- 1:02:25[SPEAKER_04]: But if you look at who lived on that mountain, he could have chosen much easier landscape.
- 1:02:28[SPEAKER_04]: He could have chosen much easier battlefield.
- 1:02:30[SPEAKER_04]: He could have chosen easier enemy.
- 1:02:33[SPEAKER_04]: But he said, no, God said, I could have whatever I wanted, and I want that.
- 1:02:37[SPEAKER_04]: Because that's the biggest mountain with the biggest people in the best land and God said he'd give it to me, so I want it.
- 1:02:44[SPEAKER_04]: Why not?
- 1:02:46[SPEAKER_04]: Challenge of us workers a couple of Saturdays to go.
- 1:02:48[SPEAKER_04]: Make some mountains.
- 1:02:52[SPEAKER_04]: And then say, I, you said you answered prayer.
- 1:02:55[SPEAKER_04]: Here's my mountain.
- 1:02:58[SPEAKER_04]: Conquer it for me.
- 1:03:00[SPEAKER_04]: Give me the tools that I need to conquer it.
- 1:03:02[SPEAKER_04]: Go with me so that I can accomplish the goal.
- 1:03:05[SPEAKER_04]: If we don't put a mountain in the way, how are we ever gonna see God do something great?
- 1:03:10[SPEAKER_04]: How are we ever gonna see God do something miraculous?
- 1:03:14[SPEAKER_04]: Jesus, I don't think Jesus lied when he told us the disciples, you shall do the same things I have done and you can do greater.
- 1:03:23[SPEAKER_04]: I don't think he was just feeding them a lie and to make them happy.
- 1:03:26[SPEAKER_04]: I think he meant exactly what he said.
- 1:03:28[SPEAKER_04]: Too many times though, we're on the wrong end of that saying, oh God, we'd never do that for me.
- 1:03:32[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe we should start abiding in him.
- 1:03:35[SPEAKER_04]: So that way, when we come to him and ask, and ask, and ask, and ask, or I want that mountain.
- 1:03:43[SPEAKER_04]: King of the weighted 40 years for that mountain.
- 1:03:46[SPEAKER_04]: But even in his 80s, he was still strong enough to conquer the mountain.
- 1:03:49[SPEAKER_04]: He was still strong enough to conquer the mountain and give a part of it away to his daughter's husband.
- 1:03:54[SPEAKER_04]: He did everything he wanted to do.
- 1:03:56[SPEAKER_04]: Simply because he said, Lord, you said, I'm claiming it.
- 1:04:00[SPEAKER_04]: I preach just talk about all those promises I once the night.
- 1:04:04[SPEAKER_04]: They're all there, they're all in the book, but oftentimes we don't claim it.
- 1:04:08[SPEAKER_04]: It's ever had to bud in the rest of what's I'm done.
- 1:04:10[SPEAKER_04]: Jesus gave us an example, how to pray and where to pray.
- 1:04:18[SPEAKER_04]: But if you're like me, it's probably the weakest area of your Christian life.
- 1:04:22[SPEAKER_04]: It's something I struggle with the most.
- 1:04:29[SPEAKER_04]: Have a time where you get along with God, just to you and him.
- 1:04:34[SPEAKER_04]: and determine to ask God for big things.
- 1:04:38[SPEAKER_04]: As the pianist begins to play, the altar is open, you come, do business with God.
- 1:04:47[SPEAKER_04]: To talk to me about it.
- 1:04:51[SPEAKER_04]: Are you sure that was not existing?
- 1:04:53[SPEAKER_04]: Maybe we just need to start asking God that's big things.
- 1:05:17[SPEAKER_01]: How are you doing tonight?
- 1:05:30[SPEAKER_01]: How's your prayer life for the challenge for us?
- 1:05:36[SPEAKER_01]: So easy to get busy with trifles.
- 1:05:40[SPEAKER_01]: Easy to get busy with social media.
- 1:05:43[SPEAKER_01]: I spend more time in social media than we do with the law.
- 1:06:04[SPEAKER_01]: and scripture tells us we have not because we ask not.
- 1:07:04[SPEAKER_01]: Look up this way.
- 1:07:08[SPEAKER_01]: You got the nuts and bolts of Christianity tonight.
- 1:07:14[SPEAKER_01]: Again.
- 1:07:16[SPEAKER_01]: Jesus is the bolt, but talking to him is the nut you have to screw it on.
- 1:07:22[SPEAKER_01]: You've got to keep it tight, you've got to check it, you've got to know the nuts and bolts of simplicity of Christianity.
- 1:07:29[SPEAKER_01]: But yet we still know the most neglected thing.
- 1:07:33[SPEAKER_01]: By the way, it's prayer that will keep you in your place a year from today.
- 1:07:40[SPEAKER_01]: five years, ten years, twenty, forty, one years in one place, pastoring.
- 1:07:47[SPEAKER_01]: Again, this was said by great man of God, little prayer, little power, much prayer, much power.
- 1:07:55[SPEAKER_01]: And again, but we saw neglect.
- 1:07:58[SPEAKER_01]: And then I love this, the Psalm was said, morning and evening and noon, I will pray.
- 1:08:06[SPEAKER_01]: You know, again, throughout the day, I love what Matt said about praying throughout the day.
- 1:08:12[SPEAKER_01]: But if you're going to be successful, it's going to take a time.
- 1:08:14[SPEAKER_01]: You've got to have a time when do you pray?
- 1:08:19[SPEAKER_01]: If I went around the room and your answer is, well, whenever I get a chance, you're not praying.
- 1:08:27[SPEAKER_01]: No, you have time, a time, a place you pray.
- 1:08:32[SPEAKER_01]: a place and a method organized, organizing, that's the successful people that pray are organized.
- 1:08:42[SPEAKER_01]: Sitting on my desk is my prayer journal and it keeps me organized and this morning
- 1:08:51[SPEAKER_01]: Again, it was good as I was praying and seeing things from yesterday here and there because I don't I've had the same prayer journal for many, many years.
- 1:09:01[SPEAKER_01]: What a blessing, don't miss it, thank you, Matthew.
- 1:09:04[SPEAKER_01]: And again, I appreciate Matt Heds out on vacation for a week, so here's the drill mat.
- 1:09:10[SPEAKER_01]: You and Heather go to the back door.
- 1:09:12[SPEAKER_01]: If you would, we're going to do a hand press offering tonight.
- 1:09:15[SPEAKER_01]: You go buy, and if you don't have anything, don't.
- 1:09:21[SPEAKER_01]: say have a great vacation pre-form and I want to encourage them and again their servants are faithful.
- 1:09:30[SPEAKER_01]: and I appreciate.
- 1:09:31[SPEAKER_01]: So if you got a couple bucks, it's fine.
- 1:09:33[SPEAKER_01]: If you got a five, a ten, a twenty, a fifty, a hundred, whatever you got.
- 1:09:39[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to, in a minute, go looking because the Lord just kicked me while I was up here to do that.
- 1:09:45[SPEAKER_01]: And so you just get a chance to encourage them.
- 1:09:49[SPEAKER_01]: And so again, let's have a word of prayer.
- 1:09:52[SPEAKER_01]: We're going to be dismissed right to go that way, brother Ed.
- 1:09:55[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I'll take care of it.
- 1:09:56[SPEAKER_01]: Father, let's pray, Father.
- 1:09:57[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 1:09:59[SPEAKER_01]: For the good reminder tonight, and Lord, I pray that you would help us to be prayer warriors, Lord of my life had such a great example and a mother who prayed and a new sheep prayed, and Father made that be the case, and Father for all of us,
- 1:10:20[SPEAKER_01]: and our children see us pray and then young people see each other pray.
- 1:10:24[SPEAKER_01]: Blessed hours ago are separate ways tonight in Jesus' name.
- 1:10:28[SPEAKER_01]: Amen.
- 1:10:28[SPEAKER_01]: You are dismissed.
