- 0:16dot com here with coach live at Cafe Arara Freshman. A walk in a
- 0:20lot of minutes, particularly as do you guys get to hear all the ads?
- 0:24Well, I can turn it up, but no, no, no,
- 0:26no, no no. I mean it's like a million ads. Well,
- 0:31that means the salespeople are doing their salespeople are doing a great job.
- 0:35I mean we have car dealers, attorneys, real estate people. Yeah,
- 0:43what what the hell else we got? We've got all kinds of thing,
- 0:45we got physical therapy places, rehab, rehab, Yeah, we got all
- 0:50kinds of Oh yeah, which is great. I think it's great. I
- 0:53think we don't have and we're going to answer for volunteers. We don't have
- 0:58the official cigar of Yukon On Women's basketball. All right, I'll talk to
- 1:03it right already, Artie, can we get that done, official cigar of
- 1:07Ukon. I'll get onto that because you know, if you win a game,
- 1:11you want to I'm not saying you're gonna light one up on the bench.
- 1:15And we're not going to do that. It's not those days again.
- 1:19But like you know, and and then we're also volunteering and we're asking for
- 1:23volunteers for the official Tequila of Yukon Women's Basketball. Well, I do have
- 1:29a distillery. The things that you know, the things that I view as
- 1:33very very important to this program. We have way Point the Stillery as a
- 1:36sponsor. Way Point Distillery. That's exactly right, That's exactly right. I
- 1:38tasted some of their stuff. It's really really good. I got invited up
- 1:42to go see where they do their thing up in Bloomfield. It's it's a
- 1:45pretty cool concept I had. You know, remember you read about all this
- 1:49stuff back in the day, you know, and people have moonshine, you
- 1:52know, they have stills in the backyard, you know, and they'd make
- 1:53an illegal you know stuff moonshine went back in prohibition and stuff. But when
- 1:59you see it, like actually the way it's done, it's pretty fascinating.
- 2:02How they can you know, create something that tastes so good and it's so
- 2:09bad for you, all right, And on that topic, then how did
- 2:15you get involved in the wine business? When did that all start for you?
- 2:20I don't know that if I actually got involved in the wine business or
- 2:28I used to drive by this place when I was in high school my senior
- 2:32year in high school. I didn't drive before that, but I drove by
- 2:37this place and it looked like a really cool little, you know, mom
- 2:42and pop restaurant place, you know, And we never went out to dinner.
- 2:46I don't know if any of you guys, you know, you're around
- 2:49my age and you never went out to dinner. You know. My mother
- 2:52was like, why should we go out to eat food that I can make
- 2:54better than they can, you know, like, why should we? Why
- 2:57should not a cafe r obviously cafe are wasn't around back the copies was probably
- 3:04yeah, well yeah, so, you know, you didn't go out much.
- 3:07And I always thought, you know, I wonder what I wonder what
- 3:09that's you know, what's what's going on in there? I wonder what that's
- 3:14like. And I always was fascinated by the entertainment, hospitality thing of food
- 3:22and wine and what that represents to Italian people, especially everybody, but you
- 3:30know, especially Italian people. I mean it's food and wine and friends and
- 3:36family. It's it's a big deal. And I didn't know anything about any
- 3:39wine that was any good until like nineteen ninety four or ninety five or something
- 3:46like that, when a friend of mine just introduced me to some really really
- 3:50really good wines and he said, you know, you should start to study
- 3:53some of this stuff and learn more about this. And that's why I did
- 3:55it, just from you know, just for myself. I just wanted to
- 3:58know more about it, you know, I mean, you can, you
- 4:02know, think back to high end wine for you was you know, when
- 4:08you helped your father and your uncle make wines and there weren't that many stems
- 4:12in it. Oh we got a grete, We got a great batch this
- 4:15year. Man, there's like very few stems, all right. Great.
- 4:20I never had wine that was brown. So you know, once you find
- 4:26like a really really good, you know, Italian wine, you realize,
- 4:30Wow, this is what it should have been like back in the day.
- 4:32You know, maybe we should have washed our feet when we were stopping grapes.
- 4:38It would have tasted better. Did you stop grapes. Have you ever
- 4:43No, because we came to America, and we came to America like we
- 4:46were up we were upscale. Man. My uncle he had this hand crank
- 4:49thing. You know, you put him in there crush everything, and everything
- 4:54went in there. That's why you know. You you either drank it or
- 5:00you put it in your card if you didn't have any guess they work both
- 5:05ways. Gotcha? Gotcha? All right, we'll take a quick break,
- 5:09come back and we'll maybe talk a little more basketball on the Yukon Women's Pass.
- 5:13Now, let's talk more one, all right, that too. It's
- 5:14the Yukon Women's Basketball Coaches Show on Learfield.
