- 0:05Hello and welcome to episodes five of Dropped Off Sides.
- 0:08I'm with Tico Nenza. My name is Keith.
- 0:11Week one is in the books of the Premier League season.
- 0:14How are you guys feeling after that?
- 0:16Would have felt a lot better fucking Tottenham one, but yeah
- 0:20not but not bad it was actually. I got to watch a lot of games at
- 0:22the weekend off, so got to watch a lot of games.
- 0:26Excited we get to finally talk about the sport and actually get
- 0:29to watch it at the end of every week, so that's very exciting.
- 0:32It's off to a great start, Can't wait until this coming week.
- 0:36More games, more action, so it should be fun.
- 0:40What were the big takeaways for you guys?
- 0:42Like Big picture where you kind of What were you thinking?
- 0:45I'll start with Tottenham. What a fucking shit show.
- 0:49Jesus, I watched that game. It was just unpleasant to watch,
- 0:54just to set up in the middle. It was like a cluster mess.
- 0:57I know, and you and I touch touch bases on this over the
- 0:59weekend. And to me it was Sun not being
- 1:04featured that often. And it felt like Sun was just
- 1:07kind of just an average player just going up and down getting
- 1:10passes here and there. Madison looked amazing.
- 1:14So that was my take away from that game.
- 1:16And Richard, listen. Was just kind of up there
- 1:19walking around, not doing much. All right, just a touch on that.
- 1:22I I completely agree. I watched that game, obviously,
- 1:28and the first half was a shit show, as you said.
- 1:33There was a lot of the wingbacks where we're basically playing
- 1:35San midfield. So we had like 5 in the middle
- 1:37plus Sun and Cooloo trying to get involved and it just wasn't
- 1:41working. We weren't getting Madison on
- 1:42the ball and then obviously Ramos.
- 1:47Being get Ramos, Romero, being hurt like real early.
- 1:51Even after scoring that goal. That was a big one to hurt for.
- 1:54If I'm gonna take any positives, it looks better than last year
- 1:56and the year before that. Honestly, it was more, it was
- 1:58more interesting to watch. We weren't just sitting back on
- 2:01the counter attack. But yeah, it doesn't look good
- 2:03honestly. Rich Alison didn't touch the
- 2:05ball. Some was in existence.
- 2:08My one thought there is like, I felt like even if it didn't, it
- 2:13wasn't perfect. I think everyone knew it wasn't
- 2:15gonna be perfect with and right off the rip, right?
- 2:16Like that's kind of been his DNA or his style is that sometimes
- 2:20takes a while to get used to. But the one thing I thought was
- 2:22at least there was like a sense of identity.
- 2:24Like you were saying, like the wing backs were kind of under
- 2:26lapping and playing midfielder like and playing the midfield.
- 2:29But like at least that's something.
- 2:30At least they were trying to like they had a system, they
- 2:32were trying to implement. So I don't know.
- 2:34I think that was a positive take away from that situation.
- 2:37Anything else like kind of big. I think one thing for me is I
- 2:40always on the opening week, I always look forward to like a
- 2:43big upset, like a big subversion of expectations and some
- 2:46capacity. And I was a little bit
- 2:47disappointed there wasn't like a big draw or a big, big loss.
- 2:51And like I the game today with United and United Wolves I I was
- 2:56like I started getting really excited like 1/3 of that with
- 2:591/4 of the way through the games.
- 3:00I was like, holy shit, Wolves might be the team, this might be
- 3:02the upset of the week, but I'm lucky for them they didn't.
- 3:05They weren't able to get that and they weren't able to get a
- 3:09penalty in the dying minutes. Any other any other things that
- 3:12were just really surprising for you guys, any like big
- 3:14surprises? Surprising to me was that Man
- 3:18City did not start Grillish and they didn't even bring him on as
- 3:23a sub, at least just to get 1520 minutes.
- 3:25I thought that was a big surprise when I saw the lineup.
- 3:28You know, with the starting lineup, Pep always tinkers and
- 3:31he moves people around. But usually he kind of brings
- 3:33them in and gives him some playing time.
- 3:34I was kind of surprised that he didn't get any playing time, to
- 3:37be honest. Yeah, you think that's, you
- 3:41think that's just a week one thing and he'll be.
- 3:42He'll probably start next week, I bet.
- 3:43What do you think? It's a pep thing he's putting.
- 3:46He's doing the same thing he always does, his rotation.
- 3:48Don't get around that piss me off too.
- 3:50I had a cold players in there and a couple of my leagues where
- 3:52I was like they usually start. He even said they were good to
- 3:55go like Vardio and they didn't start so.
- 3:58It's just PEP doing PEP things. I was really surprised.
- 4:01Obviously we talked about Newcastle being good, but just
- 4:04the extent of how good they were against Villa, that's pretty
- 4:06impressive. They were.
- 4:08They were really good. I watched that game too.
- 4:11I thought Villa got a little bit off their momentum.
- 4:16When Ming's got hurt, he's gonna be probably out for a little
- 4:19bit. Looks like he's got shine down
- 4:20with his knee. He looked in pure agony.
- 4:23So that. Yeah.
- 4:23But besides that, like Harvey Bonds Isaac.
- 4:28Freaking amazing, man. Look, they look really bloody
- 4:30good. They're relentless.
- 4:32They keep coming 90 minutes non-stop attacking.
- 4:36Even though the scoreline was 5 to 1.
- 4:39The game was closer than the 5:00 to 1:00 I think it
- 4:41suggests. Especially when it was 2/1, it
- 4:44was still good game three. One it was still somewhat
- 4:45competitive, and then afterwards just Aston Villa just gave it
- 4:48up. But I Villa also played well.
- 4:51Just, you know, if someone looks at the score they'll see five
- 4:54and one, they're gonna think, you know, it's just complete
- 4:56thrashing. But it was a close game for what
- 4:59was it the first half? 60 minutes is when it kind of,
- 5:03and I think that's kind of what Newcastle is going to be doing
- 5:05to people, just kind of attacking, keeping the high pace
- 5:08of the whole 90 minutes and that's going to affect the
- 5:11opposition sooner or later. They're just going to tire out.
- 5:15I totally agree. I feel like we're all so eager
- 5:17to talk about the games. Should we just get straight into
- 5:19the recaps and just kind of start plowing, plowing through
- 5:22these things? Because I think they're gonna.
- 5:24It's gonna take us some time to get through it all.
- 5:26Just kick off the week was Burnley versus Man City.
- 5:30Burnley Zero. Man City Three.
- 5:31Kind of touched on it. I think the big point of
- 5:34discussion that hasn't really been talked enough about is the
- 5:35KDB injury. The brain went down in like the
- 5:3725th minute and it seemed like it was a similar injury to what
- 5:41he'd been dealing with for the last.
- 5:44You know, he was injured at the end of last season.
- 5:46He was playing through it and I think it's that same hamstring
- 5:49that he just messed up again. How worried are you guys for
- 5:53him? Worried for him for the season.
- 5:56It's it's not exactly the best time to get injured is right at
- 5:59the beginning, but it is the best time because then you have
- 6:01time to recover. But oh man, see, you're going to
- 6:04do the right thing and let him recover.
- 6:06Because honestly, I think they should have.
- 6:08If they're going to arrest him, they should arrest him against
- 6:10fucking. Apparently, they arrested
- 6:11everybody else. You know what I mean.
- 6:12It's just like a big upgrade for Bernard Silva.
- 6:15Or do you think is there anyone else that really could benefit
- 6:18from the KDB injury? Foden Foden could be that
- 6:24centerpiece where he can create a little bit more.
- 6:28We saw what he did in that game. He did a lot of running down the
- 6:31wing, but if you put me a little bit more central, let him cut in
- 6:33a little bit more. I think he can create, he can be
- 6:35that creator for him. I.
- 6:37Also Covert Church, because when they took up KDB they put in
- 6:40Covert Church. So again, he's not gonna be
- 6:43getting a lot of assists, a lot of goals, but he's gonna get the
- 6:47playing time. So and you know they're gonna
- 6:49get the clean sheets. So I would the where I had
- 6:51Covert you drank. Obviously, this elevates him, at
- 6:54least until Kevin De Brune comes back.
- 6:57And like you mentioned, Keith, like this is something that was
- 6:59been hampering last year as well.
- 7:01And then they had the World Cup, He wasn't himself playing in the
- 7:04World Cup as well. So something to definitely keep
- 7:07an eye out on moving forward for the rest of the year.
- 7:10City feels thin now. Like, I feel like they they're
- 7:12gonna have to sign somebody. I know there's been some
- 7:15discussion about Matoma, Lisa, was there someone at Paketa or
- 7:18all three people that they're talking about signing?
- 7:21I think they have to sign one of them, right?
- 7:23Just to fill that void at KDB with the way that he came off,
- 7:26the fact there was an old injury, I'm I'm like that could
- 7:29be anywhere from a month to four months to to longer.
- 7:32Like, I can't imagine he's back in next week, you know?
- 7:36They might have to sign it to a couple of them.
- 7:37Honestly, I think the care would be the obvious choice to pick
- 7:41up. At least I didn't hear about.
- 7:43But yeah, I think the care would be the obvious choice that
- 7:46they're gonna pick up somebody. What do you guys think?
- 7:47It was Holland with two goals. Is he just unstoppable for us?
- 7:55Don't get wrong, was against Burnley, but come on man, he
- 7:57does it against everybody. So and scoring within what, the
- 8:00first like what, 5 minutes and it's Harlan doing.
- 8:04Harlan, what do we say? Harlan eats, and that's what
- 8:06he's gonna do. He's gonna keep it.
- 8:08Honestly, it felt like if KDB was in.
- 8:11Played the whole game, he would have had more goals.
- 8:13A couple of times he was open, just people couldn't pass the
- 8:16ball to him. And Halan even had a couple of
- 8:18nice passes too. I think it was Alvarez, one
- 8:20inside the box. He shot it right at the
- 8:22goalkeeper. So Halan is just going to
- 8:25continue where he left off last year and obviously him not going
- 8:28to the World Cup kept them fresh.
- 8:30So Halan eats and he's going to continue doing it and I'm going
- 8:34to enjoy it. Man, it's that you.
- 8:37It feels so much better when you have a more fantasy.
- 8:40Are we all big dumb idiots Cuz we just missed Rodri all off
- 8:44season and then he's had about two assists in a goal or?
- 8:47In my defense, I told them so to draft them.
- 8:49He just ignored me. No, man, He's just, look,
- 8:53there's gonna be so many players in Man C that are gonna be part
- 8:56of the game and it won't be every game of the season.
- 8:59There's only a few that are gonna be there every game.
- 9:01We know this already. There's so many talent players
- 9:04on that team that there's gonna be someone who has to step up
- 9:06and they'll step up. That's the thing about Man C
- 9:08they have so much talent. But Rodri doing it every game, I
- 9:11don't think so. There's gonna be games where
- 9:12he's gonna have to sit back. He's gonna have to play more,
- 9:14come more deeper. I think so too.
- 9:16I think that was like a little bit of a flash in the pan.
- 9:19Were you guys surprised to see Kyle Walker in the starting
- 9:21lineup as well? I think he once he signed that
- 9:24deal, he was pretty much gonna be playing.
- 9:26I think it was. That was kind of the only
- 9:27uncertainty. The one surprise was Enzo's guy,
- 9:30Rico Lewis, who he called out preseason as to he thought he
- 9:33was gonna get some serious minutes, but he started.
- 9:36That was pretty interesting. Again, is he gonna start every
- 9:39game? I don't know.
- 9:39I thought he'd be more like rotation.
- 9:42So he still, I think, could have a good season.
- 9:44And if he can take the opportunities that I've given to
- 9:46him, yeah, it'll be good. Yeah, I guess kind of just
- 9:48continue our conversation about Grealish.
- 9:50Like, man, he, he fell to me in the third round in one of our
- 9:53leagues, which is so late, and I really didn't want to take him,
- 9:55but at that point I felt like I had to.
- 9:57But man, I'm nervous after after that, after him not starting at
- 10:01all, not even coming on at any point.
- 10:03It's just like what what that's about.
- 10:05I think TI was kind of rolling my eyes when T at the beginning
- 10:08of the season was Tiko was being like, oh, he's been drinking so
- 10:10much offseason. But now I'm like, oh, maybe.
- 10:12Maybe there's something to it. Maybe he just needs to get a
- 10:15little fitness back. No, no.
- 10:17No, man. He's a professional and these
- 10:20are all professionals. They get ready for the game.
- 10:22That was just Tico just saying Tico things.
- 10:25He'll get in the lineup again. You will.
- 10:27It just gave me it just it was just a little kernel of doubt in
- 10:29the back of my head, even though I know that there's a little
- 10:32kernel. I was like, Oh my God, it's
- 10:34Tico, right? Like I say, being just joking
- 10:37around, messing around. But there's actually a Twitter
- 10:39account called Drunk Village. And they followed.
- 10:42It's they posted literally every day at different places like
- 10:45sometimes multiple different bars in the same day.
- 10:47So I do think he will play himself into shape.
- 10:50He will be a regular keep. I think it's just early season,
- 10:53you know, we like to overreact on the react because a player we
- 10:56drafted in the first second round that they don't put up a
- 10:58good day and we start panicking. But you know, Grill is just
- 11:02someone. Eventually he'll be crack the
- 11:04rotation on a regular basis and get at least, you know, his
- 11:06minutes. OK, last last question before we
- 11:09move on to the next game, is there anyone on Burnley that
- 11:12even remotely gave you any shred of interest after that game?
- 11:17I mean, we're assuming there'll be better days ahead.
- 11:19You can just say no, we can move on.
- 11:21No, no. OK, let's let's move on then.
- 11:24Arsenal 2 not in force. One got goals from Eloni and
- 11:29then he scored the 82nd just to keep it kind of nervy at the
- 11:31end. What do you guys think of this
- 11:32game? I watched this game too.
- 11:35I don't know why I woke up for it, but I did and I watched it
- 11:40also. Looked good in the first half.
- 11:42Don't get wrong, they actually look good for a lot of the
- 11:44second-half. But I don't know what happened.
- 11:46Someone switched off and Norman Forrest were just pushing them
- 11:50on their back foot. It got exciting at the end, so I
- 11:54did not watch the game, Did they?
- 11:56Were they pushing them like for the whole second-half?
- 11:59It was. It just kind of like they got a
- 12:00goal and then it was nervy after that.
- 12:03Around the 65th, maybe 68th minute, it just seemed that the
- 12:05ties started turning. I don't know what it was like.
- 12:08I couldn't tell ya. I was watching the game, but it
- 12:10just. I was.
- 12:11I'm not gonna lie, I was wishing for knowing Forest to score the
- 12:14whole play time. But soccer's goal was amazing.
- 12:16What a frigging. What a goal.
- 12:18And Kaya? Yeah, it was more about
- 12:20Martinelli. Yeah, that Martinelli is.
- 12:22No, that's. What that was about really cuz
- 12:24even his shot was. And it was a reflection.
- 12:27It was a deflective shot. But do I see Nikay, you're doing
- 12:31that week and week out? No.
- 12:32Do I see soccer doing that week and week out?
- 12:33Yeah. I think again, Odegaard was was
- 12:37OK, wasn't. I don't think he was the same
- 12:38player that I saw him lost last season.
- 12:42But a big one for that game is, is Tim Burke.
- 12:44And he's out for what, four months now?
- 12:46So the whole just talk really quickly about Odegaard before we
- 12:51get into the defense. Are you worried with Kai habits
- 12:54in there? It's screwing up what he does.
- 12:56Do you think he's getting in his way in some capacity or like
- 12:59taking some touches away from him?
- 13:01And that's what it is in my opinion.
- 13:03I still don't understand where car have as well.
- 13:05I think trossage should have started honestly, because I
- 13:07think the chemistry is a lot better and I hate to say that
- 13:10Sergey's right, but yeah, the chemistry's a lot better.
- 13:13Have has just seemed lost sometimes in that midfield
- 13:16attacking role. He was getting in the way.
- 13:19He wasn't spacing correctly, but.
- 13:22Again, first game of the season, we'll see what happens.
- 13:25Maybe he'll find his his feet and maybe he'll help improve
- 13:28that side, but at the moment I think he's better off coming off
- 13:30the bench. I watched the game after the the
- 13:33replay and even the goal that Niketia scored, he could.
- 13:38He should have laid that one off.
- 13:39He got lucky with the deflection there.
- 13:41It'd be interesting to see he starts moving forward if if or
- 13:44they just kind of put your start or have it somewhere else.
- 13:47Just shift the lineup because I don't think he's gonna be he's.
- 13:51He he didn't look that great as a night for me up there.
- 13:53The Martinelli, that assist was amazing, Not sure if he was
- 13:56trying to make the pass or not and same thing with Ode Gardius,
- 14:00he did good, but he needs to be better than that for Arsenal to
- 14:04be successful. So it'd be interesting to see it
- 14:07how he plays moving forward. But it's interesting to watch
- 14:10what you said, Keith, with Haverts being in the lineup and
- 14:13taking touches away from him in the midfield because there.
- 14:17They go as Odegar and soccer goes, and you don't want soccer
- 14:19to get less touches. You wanna maximize, maximize his
- 14:22role with the timber injury that Enzo mentioned is are there any
- 14:26defenders that suddenly are, are we interested in like, are we
- 14:30interested in party? Because it's just weird because
- 14:33he's not technically classified as a defender, so you're not
- 14:35getting clean sheet sheet points for him.
- 14:38But is there anyone else that like is because everyone else is
- 14:40pretty drafted in their back line?
- 14:43Tommy Yasu came on. It's Enchenko tinny still in
- 14:47there so they have plays are slowing.
- 14:49I'm just but it doesn't put any confidence in them if they're
- 14:52putting pie at right back. You know would you stream an
- 14:55arsenal that let's say like next game Tommy Yasu comes in and
- 14:58you're kind of shorted offender. Would you would you drop, would
- 15:00you strip, drop a bench player and potentially stream Tommy
- 15:02Yasu. Do you think that's like a
- 15:04potentially a good play? Depends what players you go on
- 15:07your bench. Yeah, of course.
- 15:08But like, if you have shit players on your bench.
- 15:11Yeah, you you pick up Tommy Austin because he's probably get
- 15:12a little bit more minutes. But honestly, there's gonna be a
- 15:17lot of changes in my opinion, to a lot of people's teams this
- 15:20week because they're gonna see that we're gonna panic or
- 15:22they're gonna see players that didn't play or didn't get any
- 15:25minutes and feel they have to pick up a star to get.
- 15:28You get those points and what do you think about the the goal for
- 15:31a woni was that, Do you think that's indicative of what
- 15:33they're gonna do? I feel like he was.
- 15:34He was. I remember him being very good
- 15:36at the end of last season, like he kind of helped keep them up.
- 15:39Yeah, we start playing, but he didn't, he didn't start the
- 15:41game. Do you think he starts the next
- 15:42one? Do you think Danilo comes out
- 15:44and they they play at one with Gibbs, White and Johnson playing
- 15:4810s behind them? No, I don't.
- 15:50I think they go with the same thing.
- 15:51They're one of the teams I got going down, so all right, let's
- 15:55let's keep moving then. Next game is Bournemouth one,
- 15:58West Ham one. There was a beautiful goal by
- 16:02Jared Bowen in the 51st and it seems like after that West Ham
- 16:08just kind of like went to a show, yeah.
- 16:11They were playing, they were playing for the win.
- 16:12With the one they'll win. I watched extended highlights.
- 16:18Honestly, they felt like they were missing a piece.
- 16:21They did just pick up James Woolprouse, so that might help
- 16:26them with a little bit more creativity in the midfield to
- 16:29create something for the forwards.
- 16:31But West Ham at the moment, I think.
- 16:34They need a lot more that I think they're gonna be bomb half
- 16:37the table this season. It's wild to me that both
- 16:40Antonio and Danny Ings like aren't being drafted and like
- 16:43just think about how scarce strikers are.
- 16:46But like no one has any confidence in the West Ham
- 16:48strikers. Like, like Antonio has scored a
- 16:51lot of goals in the Premier League.
- 16:52Danny Ings has scored a lot of goals in the Premier League, but
- 16:54just West Ham in general is just no one.
- 16:56Just is like wanting to touch that.
- 16:58Well, like I said, their value might go up now that war process
- 17:02is in there, cuz he can put on a dime when he's having the top of
- 17:06his game. So we'll see, totally.
- 17:09I think the other thing I really noticed in this game was the
- 17:12fullbacks for both teams, like Emerson had a pretty solid game.
- 17:15He was getting up and down the pitch that Kirk is on for.
- 17:18Bournemouth was doing really well on the other side.
- 17:21Those might be guys to look at and then yeah, then other than
- 17:26that, I think just the James word processing is like the
- 17:27biggest talking point. This is what he's gonna do.
- 17:29Kind of ends up brought it up, but do you guys think he becomes
- 17:33a like top 20 player? Because when you look at where
- 17:36he where he was drafted last year for a worse Southampton
- 17:39team, he was going in like the second round.
- 17:42So now that he's playing for West Ham, do you think he
- 17:45should, Should he be? I think he should be the number
- 17:48one waiver priority for everyone.
- 17:50Do you guys disagree? I think it's also just the trust
- 17:55in West Ham. Like you said, people are not,
- 17:57are not drafting him. They sold players.
- 17:59They haven't bought a lot of talent and I don't think they're
- 18:02going to, I mean, out of the any of us think they're going to be
- 18:04as successful as they were last year.
- 18:08The person I will look at is their goalkeeper, Areola, just
- 18:10because I think he's going to be busy this year.
- 18:12He's going to have a lot of saves, but they're also going to
- 18:15lose a lot of games. So if they're playing.
- 18:17Obviously not the elite teams. That's someone I would probably
- 18:20play just because they are gonna have shots on gold.
- 18:21They are he's, he is gonna have the saves and that's the only
- 18:24one that will probably look at. Especially if you don't have one
- 18:27of those goalkeepers that you plug in every week and you don't
- 18:30worry about this is a goalkeeper that I would definitely look to
- 18:33pick up for matchups. No, you're gonna pick up anyone
- 18:37off the waiver. And Sanyolo just signed for
- 18:39Aston Villa. He's an exciting player.
- 18:41He'll be one to look at. I kind of holding on to the West
- 18:47End thing real quick. I initially felt like Piquetta
- 18:49going to City would be like a bad thing for Piquetta because
- 18:52he wouldn't get as many touches and whatever.
- 18:54But now, like just the way that West End is not looking super
- 18:57exciting like he might of City, even if it doesn't play every
- 18:59game, it might just be better because he might actually be in
- 19:01point scoring positions way more frequently at that team.
- 19:05Because that right now the way he's playing is just, I don't
- 19:07see them doing much. There's just so much reliance on
- 19:11Jared Bowen to do something magical.
- 19:12He stubbed them off. They needed them on the pitch.
- 19:15All right, let's go to the next game.
- 19:17Brighton Fort Luton Town won, right?
- 19:19It's pretty good. I watched the game, man.
- 19:22It was. They were fun to watch.
- 19:24They were very fun to watch. Brian again.
- 19:27It was against Luton though. It's against Luton, don't get me
- 19:30wrong, and only wrong. Luton did score a goal and it
- 19:33was, it was a penalty and everything.
- 19:34But Brian just looked on it, man.
- 19:37Like Matoma class. Kevin Ferguson coming on.
- 19:41Just putting the cherry on top. Excellent, man.
- 19:44They they look good. They look, they were like,
- 19:46gross. All the all the shit we were
- 19:48talking. Well, shit that we were all
- 19:49talking about selling Marty Gros.
- 19:51They fucking stepped up, man. They look, they look good.
- 19:53But again, it's against losing. Let's see how they do against
- 19:57the next team. I'm not sure who they're playing
- 19:59next. I think my biggest red flag for
- 20:03Brighton was the four goals, four different goal scorers, 2
- 20:07Subs scored, lot of lot of substitutions on the attacking
- 20:10line and see. So we didn't even see.
- 20:12There's guys, you know, there's attacking players that were
- 20:14drafted relatively high, that we didn't even get a like a look,
- 20:16that didn't even get a look in this game.
- 20:18I'm almost worried that it's gonna start turning into a city
- 20:21situation where these guys are gonna be doing a lot of rotating
- 20:24and then we're gonna just be like it's we're gonna be kind of
- 20:26having that balance, like balance who's like, who's
- 20:29playing. That's gonna be a headache.
- 20:33But, and like Enzo said, it's also against Luton Town.
- 20:36So you could just put out your B squad and give some of the
- 20:39players a rest, bring a new players, try different things
- 20:43out. I don't think this is going to
- 20:44be indicative of what lineups are going to use moving forward.
- 20:49But yeah, it was they're a fun team to watch.
- 20:51Definitely put out four goals. You know, they took care of
- 20:53business, essentially. That's what they had to do.
- 20:56And per Luton Town Man, I I think that's to be my team
- 20:59rooting for this year. You know what though?
- 21:01I kind of disagree with you guys.
- 21:02I think I know it's looting talent, but it's the first game
- 21:05of the season. I feel like they're gonna put
- 21:07out what they think is their best team.
- 21:09I don't think you. I don't think you rest guys for
- 21:10game one. I think you wanna put out your
- 21:12best team that you think is gonna give you the best chance
- 21:15to win. I think they put out their best
- 21:17team. I know we talk about Danny
- 21:20Welbeck and he's a veteran. He played well, He created, he
- 21:24was strong. He created chances, He made
- 21:27chances for himself. I just think they went with the
- 21:29veteran, Like Evan's still a young kid.
- 21:32Will he eventually take over? Eventually though, if he keeps
- 21:36playing the way he's playing, he's strong, he's big, he's
- 21:38hungry, but well, Welbeck's a vet.
- 21:41He's been the Premiership for a long, bloody time.
- 21:44He's played for some top teams and he can get you goals.
- 21:47How long is eventually cuz Evan Ferguson looks so good.
- 21:51Like I was kind of. I was uncertain about him coming
- 21:53to the season. I knew he was raw and good and
- 21:55young. We saw him.
- 21:56He hit the post on that one where he just turned his shot.
- 21:59He scored a really good goal. Just just, you know, just really
- 22:02strong running. Are you trying to make a trade
- 22:05for him? You think are you trying to get
- 22:06him, acquire him in leagues? I want Evan Fog.
- 22:09I'm pretty good and most my league, but if I have a striker
- 22:12that I think could score and if he was coming off the bench, I'd
- 22:15probably go for him. And when I say adventure, I mean
- 22:18if Welbeck doesn't score in the next like 5-6 games and Evan
- 22:22Ferguson comes off the bench and scores, you got a star him.
- 22:25You got a star him. But we'll see what Welbeck
- 22:28Welbeck's a vet. He'll take his time and he'll
- 22:30eventually score any. The only player on Luton Town
- 22:35that's worth probably talking about is Boris, right?
- 22:39Colin Morris? Yeah, Colin Morris.
- 22:42Well, no. Who's who was the winger?
- 22:45He had the the crazy hair. Not Chong.
- 22:49No, not Chong. He's always a cowboy.
- 22:52Kabori, That guy. That guy could be one to look
- 22:55at. He could.
- 22:56Make a few runs. He's pointing crosses each we
- 23:00one you could look at. Yeah, but Moore is taking the
- 23:04penalty is huge advantage. You know, isn't get a couple of
- 23:06those just like this game. So he's the main one and then
- 23:09other people. You could take a look at it.
- 23:11See. Yeah, it's it's it's almost a
- 23:13bummer that he's scored from the points perspective because if he
- 23:16hadn't scored a goal this game out, he would have been someone
- 23:18that would have said to target for trades.
- 23:20You know, Cuz that goal kind of makes it seem like he scored
- 23:24better than he did. But he was getting a lot of
- 23:26touches. He was definitely the focal
- 23:27point up there. He's definitely, I think the
- 23:28most important player and everything that good is gonna
- 23:31happen. It's gonna go through them, go
- 23:33through him. So someone to keep an eye on.
- 23:36OK, next game, Everton 0, Fulham one.
- 23:41This game actually had the highest scoring player on fan
- 23:44tracks. Do you guys wanna take a wild
- 23:46guessing who it was? Was it the keeper?
- 23:49It was Bert Leno. High scoring, high scoring
- 23:52player. I think it was like something
- 23:54they get like 28 points or something like that.
- 23:56Wow. Yeah, cuz he had to save like 15
- 23:59shots cuz everyone just kept kicking at him.
- 24:01I actually thought everything looked better than I thought
- 24:03they would. They look flat.
- 24:06I really did. To me, I think a striker fixes a
- 24:09lot of their flatness. I think if like Calvert Lewin
- 24:11can come in and be a focal point for them, I think a lot of that
- 24:15will be fixed. What?
- 24:18What? What?
- 24:19Calvert. Lewin.
- 24:19Which one's gonna show up? The healthy one?
- 24:22The. Healthy one, okay, if the
- 24:23healthy one shows up. The one that got the call up to
- 24:25England and was banging in goals, what two years ago?
- 24:29Was it three years ago then? Yeah, I think I might sort out,
- 24:32but I don't think so. They they look flat.
- 24:35That's another one. I think they got lucky last year
- 24:38not to get relegated and I think they have to fight for survival
- 24:41again this year. Keith, what did you think of the
- 24:45Raul Jimenez playing over Metrovich and then being sucked
- 24:48off? You think that's going to be
- 24:50moving forward, that's going to be the regular, or you think
- 24:52Mitrovich takes the starting position eventually?
- 24:56I think Mitrovich takes the starting position sooner rather
- 24:58than later. I think it's, I think that was
- 25:00kind of a statement to the fact that like Mitrovich was causing
- 25:03such a stink about moving. But if Mitrovich stays, then
- 25:07that's like one of the pickups of the season, whoever, whoever
- 25:10dropped it him. But that being said, I also
- 25:13don't expect Mitchovich to have as good of a season, a good of a
- 25:16first half of the season that he did last year, because last year
- 25:19was like he was like unstoppable.
- 25:21I think it's going to take him some time.
- 25:22If he ends up saying it's going to take him some time to
- 25:24mentally get back to that place. So, so we'll see there.
- 25:28I think that was shocking though I was.
- 25:30I thought Mitchovich was done and dusted, not never playing
- 25:34for them again. He said that much himself.
- 25:37I also was shocked that Williams started and played because that
- 25:39the other remember on that was that he was leaving like I don't
- 25:42even. I think he might have been
- 25:42dropped in our league or something, not drafted or.
- 25:45I don't think he was drafted and he started.
- 25:47He played the first half and I remember reading before, before
- 25:51the season started, that he verbally agreed to leave Saudi
- 25:54Arabia, but Fulham, but he also signed a contract extension with
- 25:58Fulham, so it was kind of a shit show.
- 26:01So I was surprised to see him start.
- 26:02He played the 45 minutes. I I got him last year and he was
- 26:06actually pretty good for me last year.
- 26:07If he does play he is going to contribute.
- 26:10He's he does have fantasy value, so that's something else to keep
- 26:12an eye out as well, 100% I think, especially if Mitch Evich
- 26:16is back and the Williams pinging balls in to his head, I think
- 26:20that's definitely something to look for.
- 26:21And Jimenez didn't look horrible like he had a he had.
- 26:24I mean, he was inches away from scoring a goal and that would
- 26:26have been a huge storyline for him to come back, leave Wolves,
- 26:29go to Fulham's, got a goal. I mean that would have been
- 26:31huge. It was kind of rooting for him.
- 26:32Is a little bit of a bummer that that didn't happen.
- 26:35The other one is Adama Troy, I just signed for Fulham.
- 26:39I don't know where he fits if he's gonna be starting, but he's
- 26:42always one of the more interesting looking players on
- 26:44the field because he looks like a freaking football player.
- 26:48So I'll be keeping an eye on him and just see see what he does.
- 26:51I'm glad they went to follow him because at least we'll actually
- 26:53get some minutes. He's just another guy that runs
- 26:55up and down the field, got greater flag ability.
- 26:58But when he gets to the final third, doesn't know what the
- 27:00fuck to do with the ball has no idea.
- 27:03Yeah, that's kind of the general consensus.
- 27:05Both him and St. Maximum were very similar like
- 27:08that. OK next game, Sheffield United
- 27:110, Crystal Palace won. Man.
- 27:14Do you think Crystal Palace is gonna struggle to score goals
- 27:16without Elise, without Zaha as they looked really good.
- 27:22I you does this thing. But he's also getting old right?
- 27:25He must be in his. He's getting up there, Edward.
- 27:29Yeah, Edward. I thought that was actually a
- 27:30really good he was a he went really late in drafts and he
- 27:33might be a steal where he was going to drafts.
- 27:35Not so much that he's. I think he's gonna score 15
- 27:37plus. But I think even if he gets 7-8,
- 27:40nine goals and you're getting him in the 8th, 9th, 10th round,
- 27:4311th round, that's a great, that's a great come up and he
- 27:46looks like the guy. Yeah, they had a lot of half
- 27:48chances. One noticed Crystal Palace, I
- 27:53think they're still trying to find.
- 27:55What their style of play is without Zaha, I think if they
- 27:59keep at least a as a, I think they'll find their feet.
- 28:03I don't think they're going to be challenging for Europe or
- 28:06anything, but I do think they'll be well safe above the
- 28:08relegation zone. I think Edouard's going to take
- 28:11his chances, but like you said, I think he's going to get what,
- 28:13maybe 8, maybe 910 goals Max and that's if he has like a couple
- 28:18braces in the season. But he's not going to score
- 28:20every game. I don't think they're going to.
- 28:23Like not score that, but they're gonna struggle.
- 28:27Sheffield United anyone? Interesting Tiko, you're you see
- 28:31do the goal goalie whisperer. Is that goalie interest you at
- 28:34all? Are you staying away from him?
- 28:38It does does not know, It does not interest me.
- 28:41But I before we move on to Sheffield United I wanted to
- 28:44kind of go back to Crystal Palace.
- 28:46I was looking at just the amount of points their players scored
- 28:50and. The lowest is 9.75 and they have
- 28:53three people who score over 20 points, which is insane for the
- 28:57entire team to score essentially in double teams, double digits.
- 29:01And the the weirdest thing about that is in our league only two
- 29:07of the players are owned that were drafted 3.
- 29:10If you can't Elise, say so but who didn't play?
- 29:13So I don't know if people are going to attack Crystal Palace
- 29:16and then you kind of pick up their players, but.
- 29:18You see 23 points, 1612, everything on the waiver wire.
- 29:21It's gonna be interesting. That's that's surprising.
- 29:24Who are those three players take off?
- 29:27Yeah, Eduard scored 23 points. His own by Canto essay is by
- 29:33Keith. He's on your team 20 points and
- 29:35that's it. Everyone else is appeared.
- 29:37Who is? The other one that scored over
- 29:3820 points was a you. Joe Kim.
- 29:40Anderson the defender, 23 points and he's a central black too.
- 29:45Ohh the defender. So here's my question.
- 29:49Was this indicative of Crystal Palace being good or Sheffield
- 29:53United being bad? Because like if their defense
- 29:56looks or if there's joking, Anderson was scoring 20 plus
- 29:58points. Is it was?
- 30:00Was Sheffield United sending in a lot of balls and forcing him
- 30:02to defend a lot? The jury's out for me on Crystal
- 30:05Palace I don't think. I don't think Sheffield United
- 30:07is the like. Litmus test is the litmus test
- 30:11that we really want, yeah. No, they had no possession, man.
- 30:14I think Palace had like nearly 7% possession.
- 30:18I think Palace had like over 20 shots on goal.
- 30:20Are they going to get that every every week?
- 30:22I don't think. They're not against, not against
- 30:24good teams in the Premiership. So from the Sheffield, they're
- 30:26another team I got going down. They're not going to be able to
- 30:30hack it in the Premiership, I don't think.
- 30:31They didn't. They improve.
- 30:32They didn't get any real good players, anything solid, I don't
- 30:35think. You know, it's that good in the
- 30:36Championship. So I think all three of the new
- 30:38teams are going down. That's my prediction.
- 30:40I think it's the first time in a while that it'll be 3 up, three
- 30:43down, moving on next game. This one is a freaking banger.
- 30:48Newcastle 5, Aston Villa, one. Kind of touched about it in the
- 30:53opening segment, but I think we were talking about not a lot of
- 30:58trash, but we were just saying be a little bit hesitant of
- 31:01Tonali. Just the big sign.
- 31:03He were like watch it, you know it's, you know, he doesn't play
- 31:05in a position where we thought he was gonna score a lot of
- 31:07goals or get a lot of positions. I will say he was in a lot of
- 31:10scoring positions. Like he scored in the first 5-7
- 31:13minutes and then all of a sudden he showed up again one-on-one
- 31:15with the keeper like 2 minutes later and he kept getting into
- 31:18the box. So I don't know if that's just
- 31:19something that I didn't feel like he was doing that at Icy
- 31:22Malone that much. And maybe it's just a change of
- 31:26a change of tactics. Maybe Eddie Howe just sees him
- 31:28playing high up the field, but I was a little shocked by that.
- 31:34Me too, man. But he played amazing, amazing.
- 31:38I watched that game 51, I agree with you.
- 31:42It wasn't how the game actually really went, but they took their
- 31:45opportunities. And honestly every single player
- 31:48that scored, even on Madison Villa, we we spoken about
- 31:50whether good or bad. So Tenali scored early.
- 31:53I think Isaac got brace. Callum Wilson, I I think he's
- 31:57still viable as a pickup, so if he got picked up late.
- 32:00We actually got a goal on there and Harvey Barnes, you know, I
- 32:03know he came on late, but bloody yell, what a goal.
- 32:07And Musa Diaby for Aston Villa. Yeah, let's stay with Newcastle
- 32:12just for one minute. So Anthony Gordon was on, he got
- 32:15that amazing assistant and all, he looked decent.
- 32:18Then Harvey Bonds came on and just looked on a different
- 32:20level. I'm gonna.
- 32:21I'm curious to see what they do. I would have Gordon drops down
- 32:23into the midfield and then Harvey Barnes goes, goes under
- 32:26those four positions. They have so many pieces.
- 32:29They just have so many good pieces in that team.
- 32:32Oh yeah, Isaac looked great. I mean, yeah, can't say enough
- 32:38good things about Isaac. He was on point.
- 32:40Can't say enough. Good thing I've been saying it,
- 32:41man. He's gonna have a great season
- 32:42this season again. ASA Villa is not a bad side.
- 32:45They're a good side. Like I said, I think they got a
- 32:48little bit disrupted when when Ming's went down and then pal
- 32:51Torres came on, he didn't exactly have the best stocks.
- 32:54He just got slotted in. And I think they were already
- 32:58losing. I think they're already down one
- 33:00nil, maybe even 2 nil at that point.
- 33:02So you had a lot of work to do. But Newcastle look good, man.
- 33:06They've moved the ball around, It was smooth, they create a lot
- 33:10of chances and they got a lot of chances on target.
- 33:14But to be honest, they're peppering that goal.
- 33:17They're gonna overwhelm a lot of teams.
- 33:19It's not stop A tag. It's I I think they're going to
- 33:23have another year that where most of their players that get
- 33:25minutes are going to be very score a lot of points in fantasy
- 33:29there. It's just like Keith mentioned
- 33:32they have so much that you know Colin Wilson, Harvey Barnes.
- 33:35How are they going to manage the starting lineup?
- 33:37Is it going to be another mad city where they rotate or is it
- 33:40just going to kind of be who's in, but most informed they're
- 33:43going to play them and just bring on the sub 6070 minute
- 33:46like they did game one so. This was for me, it was my
- 33:50favorite game. I thought it was the best game
- 33:51of the week, very exciting. And the whole time I was
- 33:54watching it, I was just thinking about Enzo's prediction for
- 33:57Aston Villa, then finishing top 4.
- 34:01OK, wait, Aston Villa. Like we said, it wasn't that
- 34:08bad. Possession was nearly 5050.
- 34:11I think Aston Villa had a shit ton of shots also.
- 34:14Wasn't like they they just sat back and took in five goals.
- 34:17They just didn't finish their chances.
- 34:19They had sixteen shots on goals, 6 on target.
- 34:22The difference there being with new cars, they had seventeen
- 34:24shots, 13 on target. If you get more shots on target,
- 34:26which I think they can do, and they can make sure not that many
- 34:30go in the back of the bloody net, they'll still be a force
- 34:32and I think they'll still be up there to fighting for the
- 34:35Champions League spots. I think 100% that it is ahead
- 34:39for us to be left. I think everyone knows that
- 34:40they're gonna have better games in the future, so.
- 34:43Don't get defended, I said. I was just thinking about you.
- 34:45That's it, yeah. But you're thinking about me in
- 34:47a negative way and they just picked up Zaniolo, who's another
- 34:50great Italian center midfielder. So they just took what Newcastle
- 34:54did with Tenali and now they got Zaniolo.
- 34:56Do you know how do you feel about your Douglas Louise pick?
- 34:59I feel a little less confident about that.
- 35:06Let's move on to the next game. Wait, we haven't even talked
- 35:09about Villa. I just wanna, I wanna touch on
- 35:11the front too. I think it's almost like
- 35:12refreshing the way that that villa's playing with Watkins and
- 35:16Diaby up there like that. That goal is like a Walkins.
- 35:19Walkins kind of generated that and headed the ball to Diaby.
- 35:22I think it's it's pretty fun to watch them do that and John
- 35:25Mcginn's running all over the place, running kind of in behind
- 35:27them. Douglas, Luis, you know, for all
- 35:30his thing he's ping, ping along balls.
- 35:32I think there's a lot of a lot of good things to look forward
- 35:34to for Villa. Honestly, I've been they take
- 35:37out McGinn putting Tillermans in next.
- 35:38When Tillermans came on, he looked good and have DRB,
- 35:43Bailey, Tillermans and Watkins in there.
- 35:45I think that's that's gonna be more ferocious, man, honestly.
- 35:49And the topic yet they still got Philip continue on the bench.
- 35:52Complete regard about that motherfucker, you know?
- 35:55I mean, I know he's done and dusted, but he can still pull
- 35:57sign out his ass. We'll see.
- 35:59I think he might be past it. He might be on his way to Saudi
- 36:04Arabia to play with his friend Neymar.
- 36:07OK, next game, Brentford 2, Tottenham 2.
- 36:11So I kind of the first note, I think Tottenham as as much as
- 36:14that's a, I mean I think that's not an easy game for Tottenham,
- 36:17you know, But I think that they had an identity like they were
- 36:20trying to do stuff and it's early and I still think they can
- 36:23show that they can do stuff. I think there was some,
- 36:25definitely some red flags, which Charleston was a red flag for
- 36:29me. I appreciate you, Keith.
- 36:32I watched that game. There was, there was no identity
- 36:35there. They they had like multiple
- 36:38personalities. They didn't know what to do.
- 36:40There was times where we were playing with fucking back too.
- 36:42It was only Van de Ven and freaking Sanchez in the back,
- 36:47which was honestly Sanchez played a lot better than I
- 36:50thought it was. As soon as he came on I thought
- 36:51we were going to let in like 5 goals because that's what
- 36:53usually happens. Don't get wrong is more exciting
- 36:56to watch. You doggy played really great,
- 37:00really aggressive. Royale still questionable?
- 37:04Coming back to defend matters, Amazing Son Inc line doesn't
- 37:09even exist. Rich Alison doesn't even move
- 37:11the bloody statue and then Kulaski didn't know what to do
- 37:14on that. On that right hand side.
- 37:16He kept cutting in where I just wanted to run down to the
- 37:19fucking byline and cross the fucking ball into the box.
- 37:21That's all I wanted. We had no one in the box,
- 37:23everyone was in the bloody midfield.
- 37:25I think we can still use that as a stepping stone.
- 37:28I saw see what Andrew's doing, but I don't think the players
- 37:30are executing it to the way he wants it because there's way too
- 37:33many. People in that midfield, way too
- 37:35many people. There's no space.
- 37:37Do you wanna touch base? He's on your new goalkeeper.
- 37:40Oh my God, he's horrendous. Yeah, if I'm going by that, by
- 37:44that game. Some of the stuff he did was
- 37:46very highly questionable. Running out of nowhere, he
- 37:49nearly gave away. A penalty I thought was a
- 37:51penalty Logo Ladia came flying out.
- 37:53Could have been a penalty. Yeah, it could have been a
- 37:54penalty, but seeing after today I don't even know anymore.
- 37:58I think goalkeeper's game protected, I guess.
- 38:00What about are we on like red alert?
- 38:02I feel like we should be all be patting ourselves on the back
- 38:03for the Pedro Poro thing, cuz we we were saying all preseason
- 38:07that he was a big red flag. Just that the way he played and
- 38:10how exposed he would look in the back four seems like Ange kind
- 38:13of figured that out too. He must be just as smart as we
- 38:15are. And he and he started playing at
- 38:18Emerson Royale, who I happen to draft in both our leagues of
- 38:21like my last pick. Cuz I had a feeling that he was
- 38:23gonna be starting games. And he scored a goal.
- 38:26Yeah, he did. And it was a it was a pretty
- 38:29bloody good goal too. Yeah, it was a really good goal.
- 38:33Yeah. Ship power about sells in the
- 38:34back. I don't think.
- 38:35I don't think Poro fits into what he wants, cuz I know Roy
- 38:38L's by defending, but Poro's even worse.
- 38:40So I think you made a good call in there.
- 38:42I think, I think the if they can get Rich, Charleston and Son
- 38:45into the game and it. I don't know, maybe that takes
- 38:47Son playing higher up next to Charleston.
- 38:49Or maybe, you know, maybe I don't know what what that
- 38:51solution is. I think Tottenham is gonna be
- 38:54fine, so let's go. Let's talk about Brentford.
- 38:57A couple of performers in Bembo with Sebel and with Sebel
- 39:01scored. Was there anyone on the team
- 39:03that you were kind of excited about?
- 39:08Anyone stand out? Like, not really.
- 39:12Besides Rico, Henry, Rico Henry stood out.
- 39:15He was playing really well on that left hand side.
- 39:20They were playing at back five, honestly.
- 39:22So that's why it was so hard to get anything through.
- 39:25By Rico Henry played Rebo on the left besides Weso and Grembo and
- 39:29they are the ones causing a lot of havoc alongside Henry.
- 39:33But besides that they had, especially in the second-half.
- 39:36They had no possession. None.
- 39:39They were just sitting back. I'm curious to see, without
- 39:42Ivan, Tony, if they can really do what they did last year.
- 39:46I think he a lot of his goals looked really simple, but I
- 39:50think he did a lot off the ball and just even get in those
- 39:53positions. I think it's going to be hard
- 39:55for them to really replicate that that forum or that style
- 39:59without him because I don't think Memo and we start do the
- 40:02same things. I think they were both better
- 40:04off playing in and around Evan, Tony then they are like playing
- 40:08together, so. Dan's got played well when he
- 40:11came off the bench. He's another one but nothing
- 40:14really stand out. I know they scored two goals,
- 40:16but one was, in my opinion, was an own goal.
- 40:20Van Evan got his foot in the way.
- 40:22I think Vikari actually had that one.
- 40:25But yeah, I don't think they do it week in, week out.
- 40:28I don't know if Vikari had that one.
- 40:29No, Keith, he had it. I watched the replay.
- 40:31He had that one not to like. I'd feel through the fire but if
- 40:35I was a Tottenham fan I'd be upset because Tottenham did
- 40:38enough to win that game and you know, you give up a penalty and
- 40:40then there's a deflection Bradford.
- 40:44They just parked the bus. I don't think anyone stood out
- 40:46just because they were just playing super defensive and
- 40:50Tottenham was essentially just driving into their wall.
- 40:52It's just the defenders, the back five, back three, back
- 40:55five, however you want to frame it or phrase it.
- 40:58They did a good job of stopping them, but no one that stood out.
- 41:01That I think is going to make an impact, at least until you know
- 41:04they get their full squad back. Alright, let's keep moving.
- 41:08Chelsea won. Liverpool won.
- 41:10That was another. I thought pretty interesting
- 41:12games through a tactical standpoint.
- 41:15What did you guys think? It was a fun game to watch, man.
- 41:18It was definitely a midfield battle.
- 41:20I think Nicholas Jackson was very aggressive.
- 41:22It was, it was very upbeat. I think that he's exciting to
- 41:24watch. I think both teams were unlucky
- 41:27to have a goal disallowed on both sides.
- 41:30They were very close, very close.
- 41:33I think they're both missing that same piece which the
- 41:36defensive midfielder, which now Chelsea are going to hoard with
- 41:39Leyva and Sasedo, so. Casedo's confirmed LA via Still
- 41:45TV Man, he he trapped everyone's playing loop where they don't
- 41:48want to go. I don't get it.
- 41:49Do they not know who Lupo is then?
- 41:51I don't. I just don't think they want to
- 41:53go to the city of Liverpool. I think if it's the option
- 41:55between going to London and Liverpool, I think that's yeah,
- 41:57OK. Nicholas Jackson looked amazing.
- 42:01Ezra Fernandez did The Dirty work.
- 42:02Honestly, Kif you being a Chelsea fan, I feel so much
- 42:07excitement for the year. I know both of us think they're
- 42:09gonna finish top 6. Diago Silva, Just the ageless
- 42:13wonder. He was amazing.
- 42:15Greece, James, he picked up an injury.
- 42:18So we'll see how that is. I mean, I know they said it's
- 42:21nothing serious. He was fatigued.
- 42:22That's where they took him off. But he was kind of limping off.
- 42:26But Jackson, Nicholas Jackson, What a gate pick up ends and
- 42:30you've got him pretty late. The guy just doesn't give up.
- 42:32He's a workhorse. He creates chances.
- 42:35They didn't, you know, they didn't put one behind the net,
- 42:38Didn't finish, but. He's good to score goals for you
- 42:41guys. He's gonna score a lot of goals
- 42:42and especially when then Cuco comes back, make things easier.
- 42:46And Mudrick, actually, I like when he came on, he's a player I
- 42:53was high on last year too. I thought he's gonna make an
- 42:55impact. I think he'll be cutting into
- 42:58Sterling's minutes moving forward, just getting on
- 43:00earlier, earlier in the game, but.
- 43:03I'm a fan of him. I think he'll make an impact
- 43:05this year, so that's someone else to keep an eye on.
- 43:07Yeah, definitely. I think the biggest thing Midget
- 43:09is just consistency. So he'll do something amazing
- 43:11every little bit, but just not like every time he touches the
- 43:14ball. He needs to like, get his game
- 43:16to a point where it's every single time he's touching the
- 43:18ball, he's driving, he's creating.
- 43:20And I think right now he kind of disappears.
- 43:22I'd be remiss not to talk about Bed Chill well too.
- 43:24He was getting very advanced. He was very high up the field.
- 43:27He's someone that like. You know, he had an assist, he
- 43:30had a decent game, but if you could trade for him you could
- 43:32try and get him on your team. I think that's someone that I
- 43:34would really target on the Liverpool side most.
- 43:38Salah with that, a beautiful ball for that Luis Diaz assist.
- 43:42Unbelievable. Interesting that he got stopped
- 43:44off and how pissy was about it. Well, there was still goals in
- 43:47that game, man. It was 11.
- 43:49He got what, 70th minute? There was still goals in that
- 43:51game. Like why would you pull off
- 43:54Salah, who they replace him with?
- 43:56They replaced him with Harvey Elliott.
- 43:58Rvlu, But honestly, I'd be pissed off too.
- 44:02You're one of the best players on the team.
- 44:06You're one of the ones that scores.
- 44:07You usually score every game, the first game of every season.
- 44:11Granny had one taken away from him.
- 44:12But be honestly, be a fucking professional though, you know
- 44:15what I mean? Just get off the fucking pitch.
- 44:17But I understand why he's angry. That's how I feel.
- 44:21No, you should be angry. Anytime you're a star player,
- 44:23you get subbed up. You should be upset.
- 44:25You should never be happy with getting golf, especially when
- 44:27it's a tight game or you're losing.
- 44:29But you're also, you're a veteran of the team.
- 44:32You're one of the team leaders you're supposed to set an
- 44:34example of, especially for like a 19 year old kid coming out for
- 44:38you. You know, ripping off your tape,
- 44:41throwing it on the floor, you know, not shaking clubs and on
- 44:43the way out. But I I thought it was very
- 44:46interesting that he was the one who got sobbed off in the
- 44:50frontline. I would have.
- 44:52I mean you want to play him the whole if you want to win you
- 44:54want, you want to keep him in there to increase the chances.
- 44:56And if I drafted him in the first round that's something I
- 44:59would you know keep an eye out for.
- 45:00And is that something you're worried, worried about or you're
- 45:03you're comfortable with? Salah you you think this was
- 45:05like a one time incident? I'm I'm Contour with Sala.
- 45:11Sala played well that game he got sobbed off.
- 45:13Yeah, but that was a choice by the manager and it's not gonna
- 45:15happen every game. He's gonna play a lot of
- 45:18minutes. I mean the whole frontline got
- 45:20sobbed off like solid Jota Andy has got sobbed off.
- 45:23I thought it was really interesting to see Cody Gakpo in
- 45:25the midfield. I did not like that one bit.
- 45:27I as as someone who dropped to him in the second round I was,
- 45:30that's not where I want him playing.
- 45:32So hopefully that whoever they signed for their third
- 45:34midfielder, well, they'd push Jota onto the bench.
- 45:37Yeah, could go into that forward position or else I might be in
- 45:40some trouble this year. I just want to go back to
- 45:42Chelsea real quick. Do you think because they played
- 45:45that back three, when they get went to say those just slots
- 45:48into that team, do you think they still play wingbacks?
- 45:51Because I think it was great that they played Coldwell and
- 45:54who was the other center back with him, DRCDRC with Thiago in
- 45:58the back? Because it actually worked
- 46:00fantastic for Thiago and made him look even better because he
- 46:03had those two kids on this other side of him and then you had
- 46:06Chill and James going up and down that wing.
- 46:08Do you still play that back three or do you go back to a
- 46:10back four? You know, it's so funny cuz all
- 46:13preseason they played it back four.
- 46:14Like they didn't, they didn't go to a back three at any point in
- 46:17preseason. So it's kind of shocking to see
- 46:18them pull this out for this game.
- 46:21I've heard in the past that Thiaga Silva's just a little too
- 46:24old to be playing in the back two against the best teams.
- 46:27You know, he's just a little too old, a little too slow.
- 46:29He needs some young guys around him.
- 46:31So that might have been part of the reason it might have been
- 46:33just the opposition. It might have been just because
- 46:34it's Liverpool. But I think another big thing
- 46:36about it is that, like you want to get your best players on the
- 46:38ball and like Ben, Chill, Will and Reese James are two of our
- 46:40best players, so playing with a wingback system is gonna allow
- 46:43them to get way more on the ball.
- 46:45So I don't know. So.
- 46:47So then, where does the Sado fit?
- 46:49Does he take Gallagher's role? Because Gallagher played well
- 46:51also. Chuckle Maker probably comes
- 46:53out. Maybe Gallagher plays a little
- 46:54bit more advanced and Cassano slots in there.
- 46:57Maybe Enzo plays in that a little more advanced role.
- 46:59I think losing in kunku just really screws us up so much.
- 47:03Next week will be interesting. See what if there's any changes.
- 47:06No, the way the way Chill well and James played, I think you
- 47:10just need them on the field as much as you can and you want
- 47:13them to give more flexibility to go up and down the corners.
- 47:16Yeah, the crosses they were making, especially James his his
- 47:19crossbow looks so pretty. It just kind of like folds in
- 47:21there, goes on the spot. So I would give them the most
- 47:25flexibility as you can and just go have them go up and down and
- 47:29just roam the field as much as they can and just have a back
- 47:33three. Like you said, Enzo Fernandez
- 47:35could play up and down wherever and just tinker on in the
- 47:37midfield just to give them the free space.
- 47:40The way that Reese James strikes a ball is like erotic.
- 47:43He just hits it so well. It it reminds me of what the way
- 47:47stuff Curry shows just a trajectory of it is a little
- 47:50different than everyone else. D Aussie scored the goal for
- 47:53Chelsea. It was kind of like a little
- 47:55opportunistic goal, but I thought he played really well,
- 47:58like he really accounted for himself well.
- 48:00He's not going to be on anyone's team.
- 48:02He's going to be a pickup if you're looking for someone.
- 48:04And Chelsea has a really good run of games coming up, so he
- 48:08might be someone worth picking up off waivers.
- 48:10Not so much for the goal, but just so much because they're
- 48:12going to have some pretty easy games in the next few weeks and
- 48:15so he might have a good run of clean sheets moving on to the
- 48:19next game. The game that happened today,
- 48:23Man United won. Wolverhampton.
- 48:25Wanderer. Zero man.
- 48:29Disappointing from United. I think that's the only thing
- 48:31you can say. I don't.
- 48:32And like, Wolves did a lot to make it hard.
- 48:35But United didn't do enough. Well, they did enough.
- 48:38They scored. But I agree with your Wolves
- 48:40looked actually after all the plays they've lost.
- 48:43They look really good. Like Cunyo was amazing.
- 48:46NATO, I think if you're talking about players that weren't
- 48:49drafted, a lot of those players weren't bloody drafted and
- 48:52they're sitting on the wave of wire right now.
- 48:53And if anyone's smart, I know I'm one of them.
- 48:56I wouldn't go pick up a couple of those players just to see if
- 48:58I can fit into my team. For players that didn't get
- 49:00started, this at the first game of the scene because they're
- 49:02gonna play every bloody minute. Looks like Kunia's a free agent
- 49:06in at least one of our leagues. I think he's gonna be, there's
- 49:09gonna be a lot of people scrambling for him.
- 49:14Gard Nacho looked really bad to me.
- 49:16Did you guys feel that way? I I like.
- 49:17I don't think he starts next week.
- 49:18I think Sancho came on and looked better in 8 minutes that
- 49:22he had. Then Gard Nacho did.
- 49:23For the whole 68 minutes that he was in, Gard Nacho was fucking
- 49:27pissing me off and I'm not even a Man United fan.
- 49:29He was playing like a Martinelli from two years ago, just running
- 49:32with the ball down, putting his head down, running into space
- 49:35and running into players and not passing the ball like he wanted
- 49:38the ball his feet all the time when he should.
- 49:40Was giving it up to Radford that whole time?
- 49:43Perfect. Honest.
- 49:43You're a winger. You're not that kind of winger.
- 49:45You're not Ronaldo. Pass the ball off the Rasford to
- 49:48one of your scores. I didn't get a chance to watch
- 49:50the game and I didn't get a chance to watch the highlights,
- 49:53but I was very curious the whole day to get your assessment of
- 49:56Mason Mound. He did a few.
- 49:59He did a few things that really did with the crowd, like the
- 50:01running hard, like kind of using his body, tackling.
- 50:05But from an attacking standpoint, he was a ghost,
- 50:07right? And so you're laughing over
- 50:09there. Do you think that's because he
- 50:11was it was shit he did is we we spoke highly of him when he got
- 50:15traded and we thought, oh he's gonna fit well in the Man United
- 50:18and then we were preseason game. We saw those little glimpses.
- 50:22But I don't know why he's staying corners.
- 50:24I don't know what he's doing. He he doesn't know what he's
- 50:26doing in that Man United. He was getting in the way of
- 50:28Bruno. Bruno needs to take the corners.
- 50:30I'm sorry. He needs to take the corners.
- 50:32Not just corners, I just feel like positionally.
- 50:34I think he was getting away positionally.
- 50:35Bruno a little bit too, like like.
- 50:38I don't know what they're gonna do there.
- 50:40I don't know if that it just mount needs to just be a little
- 50:43bit further back and let Brino kind of be in that role or what
- 50:46it is. But it was, yeah, it did not
- 50:48look correct. Like, and I think Mount, I think
- 50:51they're still struggling. It's funny that these two
- 50:54Chelsea guys were both bought and then we're putting in
- 50:56positions that they haven't normally played and they both
- 50:58struggle in those positions. It's kind of a funny thing
- 51:01that's happening right now. Yeah, I don't think.
- 51:04I think he should have been playing the same sort position
- 51:06that we thought he was going to play, which was more of a clean
- 51:09up in midfield. Like Casimero does defend him,
- 51:12but then you give him the ball and he can spread out to the
- 51:13wings because he wasn't really doing that.
- 51:15He was trying to go up the middle and then once he got into
- 51:17those, the wings, it just didn't seem right.
- 51:21Agreed. I think Rashford cut a really
- 51:23frustrated figure as a striker he I think he if anyone's
- 51:28excited for Holland to come in. Rashford, Cuz That means
- 51:32Rashford can go on left. That means that he can run on
- 51:34the balls. He has someone to play off.
- 51:36I don't. I did not get the sense that he
- 51:38enjoyed playing striker. Now.
- 51:40Even some of the substitutes didn't make sense to me, like
- 51:42Mctominay coming on for freaking Rashford and he It seemed like
- 51:47he thought he was coming on to play more defensive midfield to
- 51:49try and make sure they weren't gonna score that late goal.
- 51:51But he looked like he was playing up front at times.
- 51:54They had. They won that new kid Polestri
- 51:57for Anthony. I think Anthony had a decent
- 51:59game. Did he have a great game?
- 52:00I don't think so. But there wasn't really any
- 52:03highlights for any Man United. For me, what I expect from
- 52:09players from Man United, there was no highlights for me.
- 52:12Yeah, I got pretty chaotic at the end of that game.
- 52:14You know, what do they call it? Squeaky bum time.
- 52:16It was pretty. It's pretty it was just pretty
- 52:19chaotic. Like we were saying, Mctominay,
- 52:21like playing striker, essentially.
- 52:22It was just weird. The whole thing just looked
- 52:24weird and chaotic and a little bit desperate by the end.
- 52:27Speaking of desperate, oh, Nana had some pretty good little
- 52:32moments throughout the game, but then at the end, he just fully
- 52:34slammed into two dudes that had already headed the ball.
- 52:37I mean, that was shocking to me, that that wasn't given as a
- 52:39penalty. That's like anywhere else in the
- 52:41field. If someone goes into another
- 52:42player like that after they pass the ball, that's an instant
- 52:45foul. And like we were saying, you're
- 52:47like goalies get some sort of protection.
- 52:49But that to me was like beyond the pale even for even for
- 52:52goalie. I thought that was bad.
- 52:54And I have a feeling if that's if if you knighted down 10
- 52:57against Wolves and the Wolves keeper does that to freaking,
- 53:02you know, Martinez, I think that's a penalty.
- 53:04I think that's there was a little bit of like top six bias,
- 53:06top six bias there. It felt like to me, yeah, don't
- 53:10get wrong and I had a good game, but he had five saves.
- 53:13He did pretty well until that last literally.
- 53:17And I tell and I say it's about goalkeepers, Goalkey was a great
- 53:19until they make that one bad decision in a game and that was
- 53:23a bad decision. Don't get wrong.
- 53:25Yeah, his eyes on the ball, but he was never going to get there,
- 53:28never going to get there and he just, he clamored two players.
- 53:31I think it was a striker and the sender back.
- 53:33He got lucky. Dead.
- 53:35I think the other person used to call out is.
- 53:37Bruno's clearly the guy in this team, and we've known that for a
- 53:40few years. But like even with Mount kind of
- 53:42getting in his way, like it doesn't reflect as well on this,
- 53:45like on the fantasy point sheet. But like, he created that goal
- 53:48he set, looped that really nice ball over the top to Wampasaka
- 53:51to then hit into Veron. So he's definitely the guy
- 53:56there. I thought I I Wampasaka was
- 53:58another guy drafted because I just did not have faith in Delo,
- 54:01because if you look at last year, Delo wasn't starting
- 54:04games. By the end of the season,
- 54:05Wampasaka had won that role. And I think people just
- 54:07automatically go for Delo cuz he's a little bit more
- 54:10offensive, but you can be as offensive as you want if you're
- 54:12not getting games in. So I think, I think Wamasaka is
- 54:161 to look at and maybe 1 to kinda.
- 54:18He's probably not on any waivers but he's definitely one to keep
- 54:21an eye on for. You know if he you know today is
- 54:24he was has scored a ton of points but I think next week or
- 54:27in the next few weeks he might be trade worthy.
- 54:30Yeah, there's a few take. Can you look up me with top
- 54:33scores for Wolves? Because I know there's three of
- 54:36them. I think it was Nunez, NATO and
- 54:39there was one more. I think they were like top.
- 54:41Scorers, Dawson, Dawson got 1212 points.
- 54:46Kunia. Kunia had like 7, seven and a
- 54:48half points. It wasn't huge, but I think he
- 54:50what he was doing was just running with the ball was just
- 54:51so impressive. So as I'm looking this up, we
- 54:56actually it's, I find, I find this interesting from all the
- 54:59whole we'll see. We only have one player that was
- 55:01drafted and they're goalkeeper. Jose Saw and everyone else is
- 55:06available. So key.
- 55:09If you mentioned you know people should be running to their
- 55:11waiver wire, they have some quality players there.
- 55:13They literally have. You could pick anyone they want,
- 55:15with the exception of the keeper.
- 55:17I would be looking at Netto. I think the way he does on the
- 55:21ball, the way he he really looks to whip the ball in, really
- 55:24looks to get advanced. Cunha also, but I think Cunha is
- 55:27going to be. I think anyone that watch that
- 55:28game is going to be going for Cunha but I think Pedro Netto is
- 55:31definitely worth looking into. So if there's any players to
- 55:35pick up with the wave wires I'm not gonna lie to I think it
- 55:37should be wolves. Look at a few wolf players
- 55:40there. So you had Nunes, Netto, Kunya,
- 55:42even Huang he Chan when he came on he looked really good.
- 55:45So these are players to look out for cuz like we just said in our
- 55:49in our draft and I think in our other draft none of them really
- 55:52got picked up. So have a good look.
- 55:54Some good pickups right there. Perfect transition.
- 55:57That was the last game of the week, so now we can start
- 56:00looking ahead and thinking about waivers.
- 56:03The three big signings and I and so you had another one to talk
- 56:07about was James Wordprouse, Jack Harrison going to Everton and
- 56:11then Adama Troy to Fulham. We kind of touched on James
- 56:13Wordprouse and and Adama Troy, but Jack Harrison to Everton, I
- 56:18think that's a pretty, I think that's worthy of a pickup.
- 56:20I think someone he should be on teams, yeah.
- 56:23He scored a lot of points on Fantasy last season.
- 56:26He's one of Leeds best players. I think Leeds were just
- 56:29unfortunate. The run was on the wall the end
- 56:32of the season but they have some good players that that should be
- 56:34coming up. Yeah.
- 56:36And he's, you know he's classified as a mid, but he gets
- 56:38up and down the field a lot. I think he's, I think he's
- 56:41someone you should be looking at.
- 56:42I still, I mean do you guys disagree I think Jay's were
- 56:44proud, should be the number one target for waivers.
- 56:47Do you guys disagree? Is there anyone that you really
- 56:49feel like shouldn't, should go ahead of him, that you dropped
- 56:52ahead of him? All things being equal, like if
- 56:54you know if your team was, if not worrying about team
- 56:57construction. I just think from like the
- 56:58standpoint of I think Zaniolo's another one that could fight for
- 57:02that number one spot. Just knowing what kind of player
- 57:04he is, how he was at Romo, how he how he played well at
- 57:07Galatasaray. I think Zanio's a he's more, I
- 57:10think like he's more effective attacking.
- 57:13James will prowl sits deep, he's good with set pieces and
- 57:16whatnot, but is he gonna get set pieces at West Ham?
- 57:18Who takes the set pieces at West Ham?
- 57:20He's gonna first share, get set pieces.
- 57:22There's just no way. He's so he's like one of the
- 57:24best strikers of the ball in the Federal League, Yeah, but then
- 57:26he really scored that many free kicks, though.
- 57:29I think he's more. Did he scored lots of free
- 57:31kicks? He scored Like, yes, look at I'm
- 57:35looking it up. So while he's looking it up for
- 57:40me, I would look at Kyle Walker. He's starting, He's getting
- 57:45minutes, especially for my team especially.
- 57:47I need a defender, so that's someone I'm gonna look at.
- 57:51And we spoke about how long and you know he's gonna get the
- 57:53crosses in there and he'll probably be more involved in the
- 57:56attack as well with KDB out. So that's one player I would
- 57:59look at it. I know he usually gets drafted
- 58:01this year with all the uncertainty of him possibly
- 58:04moving. That's why I feel like he he's
- 58:06available. But that's one player I would
- 58:07like along with Pedro Nader like we mentioned, Do you guys have a
- 58:13strapped? Do you guys have the strategy as
- 58:15far as after Week 1 because you know there's a lot of
- 58:18overreaction on the reaction depending on the players you
- 58:20pick up, if they do well or someone on the waiver wire.
- 58:23Do you guys like making moves after the first week or do you
- 58:26guys like staying steady for like a couple of weeks and then
- 58:29kind of going into the waiver wire?
- 58:32I like to make a few adjustments for sure.
- 58:35I think it's there's sometimes you just get something really
- 58:38wrong doing your draft and you just you just know right away
- 58:41like I think. You know, but like that, and
- 58:44that's not being like overly dramatic.
- 58:45Like if I draft a guy in the first five or six rounds, I'm
- 58:48probably keeping them for a few weeks, just cuz there's I have
- 58:50so much draft capital invested in them.
- 58:52But like, you know, some of those guys in later rounds like
- 58:55I had, I had a few really wonky picks later in the draft.
- 58:59And I'm definitely gonna be looking to make a few
- 59:01adjustments, but I'm not overreacting, for sure.
- 59:07No, There's always like one, at least one, if not two players in
- 59:10your team where you you pick them up just in case.
- 59:12But then there's those players that obviously got overseen
- 59:15during a draft and you want to try to pick them up.
- 59:17Because honestly, let's be honest, you want to capitalize
- 59:20on every player, even if they don't play for your team,
- 59:22because you don't want anyone else to have them, you know what
- 59:25I mean? And going back to James Ward,
- 59:28Prouse, he had nine goals last season.
- 59:34Not all those are free kicks for that, which is pretty good.
- 59:44He's probably the closest thing David Beckham since David
- 59:46Beckham. But again, not all those were
- 59:38free kicks. He's not gonna get you that man.
- 59:40He's not David Beckham, is he? I think he's the from a free
- 59:43kick. The amount he, he hit like James
- 59:50fucking Madison. What do you think about, I mean
- 59:52how many free kicks do you realistically?
- 59:54Score in a season. James Madison is the example you
- 59:56brought up. Yes, yes he is David Beckham
- 59:59till now. That's the example you brought.
- 1:00:01Up. Are you just saying that James
- 1:00:02will process the closest thing? To David Beckham.
- 1:00:05I think I said in regards to free kicks.
- 1:00:08Yeah, yeah. No, I would stand.
- 1:00:10By that so. Okay.
- 1:00:11Cool. So.
- 1:00:13Should we make? Should we make another bet?
- 1:00:16I think we need to make another bet.
- 1:00:17Madden will score more. Free kick goals.
- 1:00:19Than James Warprouse. Okay.
- 1:00:21Let's check on that. Easy.
- 1:00:22That's the easiest. Bet I've ever made.
- 1:00:24Take free money. Free money.
- 1:00:28It's on the podcast. I don't need to take note, it's
- 1:00:31on record. I'm sorry, I made a little a
- 1:00:34little error earlier when I said that Burt Leno was the highest
- 1:00:39scoring player. Actually, that was eclipsed by
- 1:00:42no Airwan Basaka. 29 fantasy points.
- 1:00:46Really. Yeah.
- 1:00:47Wow. I still think you drafted
- 1:00:51terrible, Kyle. I don't care.
- 1:00:55Yeah, we have the guy in our. League who won it last year?
- 1:00:58We all felt like he had a terrible draft and he somehow
- 1:01:01scored the most points this week and we are going to deal with
- 1:01:05that by watching him lose next week.
- 1:01:08And then we could just move on and never talk about it again.
- 1:01:11You know, during the draft, I was joking around that he should
- 1:01:13pick up Rafael Veron because that's the only defender it
- 1:01:15seems like he didn't have. If he got Veron, he would have
- 1:01:18got an extra 21 point. Oh my God, Oh my God.
- 1:01:21I want to talk about it, OK. Guys, Players that are on
- 1:01:24waivers. Who you who you looking to pick
- 1:01:26up? We already kind of we talked
- 1:01:27about the guys that are getting brought in.
- 1:01:29You know the James Wordprouse, the Jack Harrison at DOMA Troy.
- 1:01:33I think they all should be getting picked up.
- 1:01:35But people who are who went undrafted, who should be getting
- 1:01:38picked up, we spoke. About Wolves players spoke about
- 1:01:43Wolves players, I kind of talked.
- 1:01:45About Diasi from Chelsea, I think just the schedule wise
- 1:01:49they're gonna have a few easy games.
- 1:01:52A Woni Knottingham Forest might be worth a flyer.
- 1:01:57I mean, he just needs to start though.
- 1:01:58Jeffrey Slot from Crystal Palace if he's starting games.
- 1:02:01Another potential potential guy I'd be very interested in.
- 1:02:05And this is not me being biased, but Persuma I didn't.
- 1:02:07Expect him to play that well. I think Persuma's another one.
- 1:02:09I think he got like 8.59 points from playing in that terrible
- 1:02:14game against Brentford, so he got 12 points, but I think it
- 1:02:21was more of a fluke, I don't think.
- 1:02:22He's going to be producing points fantasy.
- 1:02:24I don't think he's going to give a lot of fantasy value.
- 1:02:27I'd like the way he played. Bisoma was amazing on the ball
- 1:02:30he he wouldn't give up possession.
- 1:02:32I just don't see him making those key passes, assists or
- 1:02:36goals. That kind of gives you fantasy
- 1:02:38points for him to bring value. I know this first week he did
- 1:02:42put up double digit points, but I would don't think that's going
- 1:02:46to be consistent moving forward. I mentioned Kyle Walker and then
- 1:02:51obviously the you mentioned the Stasi and.
- 1:02:55Then Pedro NATO, those are the two I'm looking at and right now
- 1:02:58in our league, Harry Maguire, we joke about it but he might
- 1:03:02actually bring be viable option for for West Ham.
- 1:03:07And then anytime he plays against Man U, you know he's
- 1:03:10good for a goal. He scores so many own goals
- 1:03:12against him. He's with his going on and so
- 1:03:15he's very familiar with scoring up Man U, so that's one to look
- 1:03:20at as well. All right.
- 1:03:21And then I guess looking ahead to next week.
- 1:03:23Games are gonna start on Friday. I'm trying to look right.
- 1:03:27I'm looking right now. I'm trying to see if there's
- 1:03:28anything super interesting. It looks like the best game is
- 1:03:31that there's two really good games.
- 1:03:32There's that Tottenham versus United, Tottenham versus Man
- 1:03:35United, which I think is gonna be a really fun game, and then
- 1:03:38Manchester City versus Newcastle United, I think that might be.
- 1:03:41That'll be a really good litmus test for Newcastle United after
- 1:03:44such a good game last week. Are they, are they like if they
- 1:03:47can put up a good fight against City?
- 1:03:49I think they're officially like, that wasn't a flash on the panel
- 1:03:52they made that for and we need to start taking it really
- 1:03:54seriously. How do you guys feel?
- 1:03:57Yeah, well, that's gonna be we're gonna see.
- 1:04:00Their credentials and if they can actually step up, that's
- 1:04:05gonna be a game I'm gonna wanna watch.
- 1:04:07It's 12:00 PM too, so it's a pretty good game.
- 1:04:10I'm upset to see that the Loot and Burnley game got postponed.
- 1:04:13I'm assuming it's cuz their stadium was shit because the
- 1:04:17stadium was out already. It's an amazing stadium.
- 1:04:22I will now let them talk. To you about their stadium, you
- 1:04:25get fish and chips. Outside the stadium, as you walk
- 1:04:28in, it's like an entrance. A game.
- 1:04:31I'm a game. I'm looking forward to Brian
- 1:04:32Wolves, I think after this week and watching how they played, I
- 1:04:36think that's gonna be a good game to watch.
- 1:04:37I was just gonna mention, do you does that.
- 1:04:39Temper your desire to pick up some wolves.
- 1:04:41Players know they're playing bright next week.
- 1:04:44Maybe some of the defenders. Are you less inclined to pick up
- 1:04:47one of the defenders? Not the defenders.
- 1:04:48I'd probably go for attackers because you.
- 1:04:50Go by the way, both Brian and Wolves play.
- 1:04:52They play very, very attacking football.
- 1:04:54So there's that's gonna be some goals in there.
- 1:04:56There's some points in there. Totally.
- 1:05:01I think that'll be a good one to watch.
- 1:04:58I think this is a get right game for Aston Villa against.
- 1:05:03I think that's where we'll really see what they can do.
- 1:05:05You've got two London derbies, man. 2 London derbies.
- 1:05:07Already, man. You've got West Ham and Chelsea,
- 1:05:10you've got Arsenal and Crystal Palace.
- 1:05:12They're gonna be good to watch too, always.
- 1:05:15Derby's always tough games, so. I expect Chelsea to smash on
- 1:05:19West Ham, but I think Crystal Palace and also will be a little
- 1:05:22bit more interesting. I think that's gonna be an
- 1:05:24interesting game to just to see if Arsenal kind of gets
- 1:05:26everything in mulching and if they could play the full 90
- 1:05:29minutes and not give up like the last 20-30 minutes, take their
- 1:05:32foot off the gas essentially. Kind of.
- 1:05:34That game sums up what happened to them last year and Arsenal
- 1:05:38just they need to come out and, you know, win this game, make
- 1:05:41statements that last 1520 minutes had to worry you as an
- 1:05:44Arsenal. Fan, especially that being not
- 1:05:46in the forest or a bum off table team.
- 1:05:49They really should have won that game convincingly.
- 1:05:51And I'm not saying it should have been like 314151.
- 1:05:54I'm saying even 21 can still look convincing.
- 1:05:57And that last 1520 minutes was not convincing.
- 1:06:01They could have been 10 and you could have, you know, if it's
- 1:06:04A10 game, it seems close, but sometimes they dominate the ball
- 1:06:07so much, you know the other team has no chance.
- 1:06:09So the scroll line is not something you look at when you
- 1:06:11watch the game. You're like, Nah, this is not a
- 1:06:13team that could dominate the EPL and win it all.
- 1:06:17They need to get their stuff. They shit together, so to say.
- 1:06:20I mean some mental frailty from the team that.
- 1:06:22Blew like a eight point lead going into the last few games of
- 1:06:25the season. Isn't that shocking to me?
- 1:06:26I think they that's the use in the team.
- 1:06:29They need to. They need to kind of fix that
- 1:06:31though. I think they're gonna place,
- 1:06:32they're gonna face tougher opponents, are gonna push them
- 1:06:34harder than than Forrest did and the only saving grace for
- 1:06:38Tottenham forgets, man. United is that we're playing at
- 1:06:40home cuz Man United the the stadium with dreams is just a a
- 1:06:44fortress right now. I think the saving grace.
- 1:06:47I think the saving grace for. Tottenham is that Man United
- 1:06:49look bad and I think that when you look at last year, Man
- 1:06:52United started really bad last year too, so I think the saving
- 1:06:54grace is maybe it just takes 10 a little bit of time to.
- 1:06:58Get things worked out. I mean, that's what it's looking
- 1:07:00like after, you know the opening opening of two seasons for him
- 1:07:04is neither. Neither time have they looked
- 1:07:05very good. It seems like you want to get
- 1:07:08Man United early on because it seems like they pick up seam as
- 1:07:11they go and he gets his lineups, he gets a 10 that gets his shit
- 1:07:14together, and he also want to play them before the future
- 1:07:19Golden Boot winner gets back into the lineup.
- 1:07:23All right. All right.
- 1:07:23I think we can wrap up the episode.
- 1:07:25After that comment, nothing good is coming, Nothing good is
- 1:07:28coming after that. Well, how do you guys feel about
- 1:07:30Harry Kane being the? Curse in not Tottenham cuz he
- 1:07:33went by, he went to Bayern Munich and I know he wasn't on
- 1:07:39the pitch, but who scored the hat trick?
- 1:07:40Omo. Danny.
- 1:07:41Omo. What a hat trick.
- 1:07:44I can't believe we almost did the entire podcast without like,
- 1:07:47talking about Harry King and me. I was literally when I heard
- 1:07:49about that, I was just having visions.
- 1:07:51Of that Taylor Swift song, like it's me, it's me, I'm the
- 1:07:54problem, it's me. This thing like that was just
- 1:07:56cycling through Hurricane's head.
- 1:07:57Probably you see he's already found.
- 1:08:00His new favorite Korean best friend in Kim Min Jay.
- 1:08:03I just realized by Munich I've got some ridiculous Sennabacks
- 1:08:06man. Kim Min Jay.
- 1:08:08They got Pervard. Who Plays Right Back or
- 1:08:10Sennaback? Lie.
- 1:08:11They called good center backs, but they're leaking goals like a
- 1:08:14freaking faucet. We're not.
- 1:08:16We're not analyzing their team. This is not trolling, not making
- 1:08:20fun. Like, how did you feel?
- 1:08:21Did you want him to win a trophy or were you happy that they
- 1:08:23lost? I'm not gonna lie, I was
- 1:08:25expecting him to win a trophy, but.
- 1:08:26I saw pleasantly, happily that he didn't straight away, cuz I
- 1:08:29didn't want to see all those fucking memes.
- 1:08:32Yeah, I think that's a valid. You still see him but now it's,
- 1:08:35you know, Tottenham, you know not even that bonus has been put
- 1:08:38pointed. Towards Kane and not a
- 1:08:40Tottenham. I got it.
- 1:08:42He's one of our own. Did they play their They play
- 1:08:45their first game tomorrow. Sounds good, right?
- 1:08:47I also thought it was funny how you.
- 1:08:48Were shitting on Onana, saying he's gonna make mistakes and
- 1:08:52which are gonna be to ghost to them, but you essentially have
- 1:08:55another version of Onana for Tottenham, so enjoy that for the
- 1:08:58next look Brian he had, he had a lot of saves.
- 1:09:01And honestly, I'm not gonna lie, he played well.
- 1:09:04But. I'm still being proven right
- 1:09:06with that last fucking thing he did at the end of the game.
- 1:09:09Could it cost his team? I totally agree with you, Enzo.
- 1:09:12I totally. I think.
- 1:09:13That was like exactly what we were talking about.
- 1:09:14And like, yeah, I didn't reflect in points on game one, but I
- 1:09:17think that's the type of behavior that it's gonna be
- 1:09:21problematic moving forward they play on.
- 1:09:25Friday against Burma Braman. So we'll see if he scores a
- 1:09:27goal. I'd hate if I'd hate If he
- 1:09:30scores less than 10 up by Munich, I'd hate it.
- 1:09:33Completely. There's nowhere he literally
- 1:09:36could like. He could like he could chop off
- 1:09:38on his arms and he'd score at least ten goals on that team and
- 1:09:41we'll see all righty. Guys, that concludes.
- 1:09:44Episode 5 of Dropped Off Sides and with Tico Nenza.
