- 0:00Speaker 1: Come on. Uh huh, I sure will.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Good morning everybody you'll listening to the voice, Come on,
- 0:08Speaker 2: dig me now, one and only Steve Harvey got a
- 0:12Speaker 2: radio show. Man, oh man, oh man, God being good
- 0:17Speaker 2: to me.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Man.
- 0:18Speaker 2: I can't explain it all really, Hey, you know, I
- 0:21Speaker 2: want I want to remind everybody of something that I
- 0:23Speaker 2: need reminding of myself all the time. And I'm I'm
- 0:29Speaker 2: I'm dealing with a couple of things now and I
- 0:31Speaker 2: had to remind myself. Uh, you know what I have
- 0:34Speaker 2: to remember. I have to constantly remind myself to stay
- 0:38Speaker 2: in constant communication with God. Constant communication with God.
- 0:45Speaker 1: You know.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Uh.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Sometimes you know, I have a tendency and maybe we
- 0:48Speaker 1: do all the people. I don't know, but I know
- 0:50Speaker 1: for me that.
- 0:51Speaker 2: When it's going okay, I slack up in sometimes having
- 0:56Speaker 2: conversations with Him because I'm not coming to him on
- 0:59Speaker 2: the day with something that's pressing or something, and I
- 1:02Speaker 2: find myself slacking up in the communication. The danger I
- 1:07Speaker 2: have learned in that is this, I think, you know.
- 1:12Speaker 2: I mean, we've all heard old people say, you know,
- 1:14Speaker 2: you got to stay prayed up, you know, and you
- 1:18Speaker 2: know prayed up means you know, you got some stowed up,
- 1:22Speaker 2: You just got an abundance of them where you're putting
- 1:25Speaker 2: it in. Because what happens is is when you're not
- 1:28Speaker 2: in constant communication with God, when you're not constantly praying,
- 1:33Speaker 2: doing those good times, that allows for the enemy to
- 1:38Speaker 2: slip in and do the little things that can be upsetting.
- 1:42Speaker 2: And then the next thing, you know what, you get
- 1:44Speaker 2: several little things in a row. Now you got an
- 1:47Speaker 2: issue you're dealing with. You know, I have to remind
- 1:51Speaker 2: myself when it's going like that, Man, Have I really
- 1:54Speaker 2: been praying though? Have I really been in constant communication
- 1:57Speaker 2: with God? Because you know that that helps God against
- 2:02Speaker 2: that little bitty stuff coming in. Sometimes it's big stuff,
- 2:05Speaker 2: sometimes it's major stuff. But I've noticed, man, that when
- 2:09Speaker 2: I get on a more of a smooth plane in life,
- 2:12Speaker 2: I have a tendency to slack up in that department.
- 2:16Speaker 2: And that ain't the time to slack up. I'm really
- 2:19Speaker 2: learning that I have to stay in constant communication with
- 2:23Speaker 2: God because it enables me to ward off those little
- 2:28Speaker 2: things coming up that can get in the way. And
- 2:32Speaker 2: so I just wanted to make you aware of that
- 2:34Speaker 2: as I'm learning it myself, that staying prayed up. Is
- 2:38Speaker 2: important that you try to stop prayers, you know, you
- 2:41Speaker 2: try to you know, have some prayers in the bank,
- 2:44Speaker 2: so to speak, and just constant communication with him, because
- 2:48Speaker 2: it'll just safeguard you against a lot of stuff back
- 2:51Speaker 2: doing you. You know, I just wanted to make sure
- 2:53Speaker 2: you understood that because on your journey, it's gonna be
- 2:57Speaker 2: many obstacles.
- 2:59Speaker 1: I've said this one.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Hundred times on the show. The road to success is
- 3:02Speaker 2: always under construction. I say that all the time, and
- 3:06Speaker 2: it's to let you understand that it's not going to
- 3:09Speaker 2: be easy, but we can make it more difficult than
- 3:14Speaker 2: it has to be, you know, when you go out
- 3:16Speaker 2: strike out on the journey. You know, let's say I
- 3:21Speaker 2: got in my car. Let's say I'm in New York
- 3:23Speaker 2: and I get in my car and I say I'm
- 3:26Speaker 2: going to LA. I know, if I drive west and
- 3:30Speaker 2: continue to drive west, eventually I should get to California,
- 3:37Speaker 2: or I may wind up in Portland or Seattle or
- 3:41Speaker 2: something like that. But if I drive west, I'm going
- 3:44Speaker 2: to eventually get to the West Coast. Now wouldn't it
- 3:51Speaker 2: be smarter though? If I mapped out the route which
- 3:58Speaker 2: saved me a bunch of driving. I don't need and
- 4:01Speaker 2: figuring that I don't have to calculate when you know
- 4:05Speaker 2: the way to go. You know, if you know you
- 4:10Speaker 2: want to cut cross on the twenty, or you want
- 4:13Speaker 2: to cut cross on the seventy, or you want to
- 4:16Speaker 2: cut cross on the Tin, you know you got to
- 4:21Speaker 2: devise a route. Now, if I want to go visit
- 4:23Speaker 2: some people I know, then I know I got to
- 4:25Speaker 2: I need to go down. You know, I might go
- 4:28Speaker 2: through Ohio, come down on the eighty, then get on
- 4:31Speaker 2: seventy one and take that all the way down to
- 4:33Speaker 2: the Tin and then ride across.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Or I might take it to the twenty.
- 4:36Speaker 2: Cut through Texas and then and then let it link
- 4:40Speaker 2: back up on the ten. I know a lot of
- 4:41Speaker 2: different ways, but guess what the best way is to
- 4:45Speaker 2: map it out. You can go anywhere, but if you
- 4:49Speaker 2: go with a map, it's more precise.
- 4:52Speaker 1: You save yourself a lot of time.
- 4:54Speaker 2: And that's what prayer has taught me that when I
- 4:57Speaker 2: will deentify continuously p that I stay in the in
- 5:02Speaker 2: the in the I stay in.
- 5:03Speaker 1: A prepared mode.
- 5:04Speaker 2: I have more idea of where I'm going. I'm more
- 5:07Speaker 2: secure with my route. If you just take off driving
- 5:11Speaker 2: heading west. Yeah, you'll eventually get to the west coast
- 5:14Speaker 2: if you out east. But guess what though, had you
- 5:17Speaker 2: mapped it out, you can see when you veering off,
- 5:21Speaker 2: you may stop, come out and not be paying attention.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Next thing, you know, you're on a route and you
- 5:26Speaker 2: going another way. You're going north when you could easily
- 5:28Speaker 2: still be going west. You've got to constantly be aware
- 5:31Speaker 2: of that. And I'm just pointing that out to you
- 5:33Speaker 2: because I know that on your journey a lot of
- 5:36Speaker 2: times you get sidetracked.
- 5:38Speaker 1: And part of the ways we get sidetracked is we.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Lose out on that very the very beneficial resource of prayer.
- 5:46Speaker 1: We lose out with our connection with God gets strained.
- 5:50Speaker 2: The thicker you can keep the cord connected to God
- 5:55Speaker 2: if you fin out your communication with God. And instead
- 5:59Speaker 2: of having a big cable, now you're dealing with a
- 6:01Speaker 2: little thread. You know, a cable is stronger than thread,
- 6:06Speaker 2: and so it just decreases your opportunity. And so you know,
- 6:11Speaker 2: I wanted to just make you aware of that, and
- 6:14Speaker 2: you know, to ever be encouraged and to say to
- 6:16Speaker 2: everybody out there and just keep your head up. It
- 6:19Speaker 2: is going to be dark days for you. There are
- 6:22Speaker 2: going to be situations where it's going to be daunting
- 6:25Speaker 2: and hard to face. But man o, man o, man
- 6:29Speaker 2: everybody has to face these challenges.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Everybody get dark sometimes.
- 6:33Speaker 2: You know, Look, if you didn't lose, if you didn't lose,
- 6:39Speaker 2: you wouldn't even appreciate winning, because if it all went
- 6:42Speaker 2: your weight all the time. Do you know how complacent
- 6:46Speaker 2: and content and how easy life would be if it
- 6:51Speaker 2: just went your way.
- 6:52Speaker 1: All the time.
- 6:54Speaker 2: So when it kept going your way, you wouldn't even
- 6:56Speaker 2: appreciate it because guess what, it's been going this way
- 6:58Speaker 2: the whole time. So what life does is it has
- 7:02Speaker 2: its checks and balances. These hard times are coming, and
- 7:06Speaker 2: you need the hard times to appreciate the good times.
- 7:09Speaker 2: You need the clouds and you need the rain to
- 7:13Speaker 2: appreciate the sun and the flowers. It's just when it
- 7:17Speaker 2: comes to prayer, though, just stay prayed up, stay constant
- 7:23Speaker 2: with it, because the challenges of life are coming, whether
- 7:27Speaker 2: you prayed up or not, they're coming. Understand that you
- 7:31Speaker 2: could pray every day all day. When you get through
- 7:33Speaker 2: praying every day all day, something gonna happen to you
- 7:36Speaker 2: that's gonna be challenging. Now, I would rather have been
- 7:40Speaker 2: in communication with God on a regular than wait till
- 7:44Speaker 2: every time something pop off to have to go to
- 7:46Speaker 2: and reintroduce myself. Okay, it was over a little around
- 7:51Speaker 2: the board with it today, but that's how it came
- 7:54Speaker 2: to me, so that is I ain't mad at it.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Y'all have a great day. We're gonna have a good
- 7:57Speaker 1: one the day. Let's go, Steve Harvey Morning Show
