- 0:00Hello, everyone. Welcome back to Eye Opener Society. I am your host, Gary.
- 0:04And I've been pulling a bunch of episodes this month, just trying to get a library set up.
- 0:10And today, unexpectedly, I was supposed to actually record an episode with Jennifer
- 0:17Miller, and she just wasn't feeling up to it.
- 0:19So I said, all right, no big deal. We got enough in the library.
- 0:23But then someone contacts me and the
- 0:26show is not very guest heavy so you know you got
- 0:30to kind of take into consideration the person and who it is
- 0:33and all but this person reaches out to me and says hey listen you
- 0:36know want to record an episode with you so i was like
- 0:38all right you know not a big deal but the thing
- 0:42is it's who the person is and
- 0:45with me now in the studio who
- 0:48wanted to do a podcast is our favorite
- 0:51hannah hannah welcome back
- 0:54to the show hi everyone hey hey
- 0:57i'm here what's i'm back bitches it's so great to have you back it's um it's
- 1:05very comforting to me now you know you know you just kind of i'm just falling
- 1:10right into the group of everything but yeah you contact me say hey listen you
- 1:14don't want to shoot a podcast i'm like okay,
- 1:16And I know it's been tough recently with everything going on.
- 1:19It's hard to, you know, do these episodes, but you brought up a subject that
- 1:23you felt you wanted to talk about.
- 1:26And after hearing it, I said, yeah, this is absolutely great.
- 1:28So listen, I'm going to turn the microphones over to you and go for it, buddy.
- 1:32Yeah. So just lately with everything personally going through in my life,
- 1:38you know, it takes a village to go through things that you're going through.
- 1:43I'm not ready really to talk about everything that I am going through.
- 1:49And I do appreciate the support behind the scenes. I've been absent, but it takes a village.
- 1:56And once you are going through things that you are going through,
- 2:02you kind of realize who your true village is.
- 2:05And it kind of makes you look from the outside looking in how much these people are devoted to you back.
- 2:15So, you know, just recently I've found myself having a,
- 2:23I don't know how to word it, a spell, you could say, just realizing that these
- 2:30people are devoted to you.
- 2:32And in turn, in the thick of healing of things, you find yourself being devoted to them back.
- 2:39So I wanted to talk about basically devotion to
- 2:43people and your village and finding your
- 2:46good people yeah and with everything
- 2:49that you have been going through yeah it does it's it's
- 2:53there's a lot of support on the back end and
- 2:56there's a lot of people that are suffering right alongside with you me included
- 3:00and yeah in order to pick up all those pieces of your life to bring everything
- 3:06you know back into reality and healing yourself and you know everything that's involved with it,
- 3:13does it takes people people that are caring people that
- 3:16are willing and just people that are going
- 3:19to show their support and you know
- 3:22i've relied on that myself lately yeah and it
- 3:25just seems like you're using you know that same philosophy too as well yeah
- 3:29and i think with me it's like it's one thing for and it's not that well wishes
- 3:35aren't meaningful because they are but it's one thing for someone to be like
- 3:39yeah i'm here for you but then it's another thing to just be like, wow,
- 3:43these people are actually truly here for me.
- 3:47Holding me up while I'm struggling and helping me continue on and truly,
- 3:55truly like are here for me, support me.
- 3:58And it means absolutely like the absolute world to me.
- 4:02And sometimes, you know, in the thick of healing, you feel unworthy and a way for me to cope.
- 4:13And it's not necessarily even, I don't want to word it like that,
- 4:16but in a way, it's like giving back to those people when I can or lending a
- 4:20hand when I'm going through the thick of healing when they need something.
- 4:27It almost heals me in a way because I'm giving back and I'm showing my devotion
- 4:32back to them. So it's not necessarily one-sided.
- 4:35And even if it was one-sided in a moment, those people that are still willing
- 4:41to pick you up from your crumbles and like...
- 4:46It's just amazing that there are good people in the world and that you find
- 4:52these people when you're going through ugly things in your life.
- 4:55Yeah. And as a whole in society, as human beings, this is something we need more of anyway. Yeah.
- 5:04It's beyond just helping out one individual person and nobody knows anything about.
- 5:10But that creates that wave of devotion towards other people. And yeah, we do.
- 5:17We need more of that in society. I totally agree with that.
- 5:20I feel that many people are tossed aside these days, especially when it comes to mental health.
- 5:27There's so much of it now. All of a sudden, out of nowhere in the last few years,
- 5:31it really became the forefront. Yeah.
- 5:35And it's a stigma still to this day.
- 5:38And to get the help you need professionally is even difficult because there's
- 5:43more people in need than there are people that are willing to give.
- 5:46So that's why it's really good to have that support, that real positive backbone
- 5:52behind you to support you for those things. Yeah. And it's raw.
- 5:58They see you at your worst and then they somehow help you, you know,
- 6:02in the moments where you feel the worst, they make you, you know, feel okay.
- 6:07Like you're not suffocating as much, you know, they're,
- 6:11they're like a breath of fresh air for you. And in return,
- 6:16it's like you don't realize it, but as they're trying to help you repair your
- 6:22cup, you're filling their cup because it's like satisfactory type feeling.
- 6:27And it's just like a wholesome, loving feeling that these people make you feel.
- 6:32And it's amazing to me just how the world can be so ugly.
- 6:40And when you're unfortunately going through ugly things, you find the people
- 6:47that, or you come to the realization that like, wow, these people really ride for me.
- 6:53They are not going to let me fall.
- 6:56And it kind of helps gives you a boost. Like I can fucking do this,
- 7:00you know, like I'm not alone.
- 7:03And it doesn't matter how many of those people you have behind you,
- 7:07even if it's just one, it matters. It makes a difference.
- 7:10It gives you something to hold onto. It's a life raft that keeps you afloat.
- 7:13Yeah. And you're not like, and I think the most kind of important message out
- 7:17of this is that you're not alone.
- 7:19Even when you do feel alone, even if it's one person, even if it's an animal
- 7:23or something like that, like you're not alone.
- 7:26And to see their devotion towards you makes you realize that you're also devoted to them.
- 7:35And it just becomes this like sacred bond that you just appreciate so wholeheartedly.
- 7:40And every day it's just like, you just wake up and you, you like look back and
- 7:46you reflect and you're like, wow, like I'm doing this, I'm going to be okay.
- 7:50And I have these people behind me or I have these things behind me and you're not alone.
- 7:56And unfortunately, in the darkest moments is when even if you can't see the
- 8:02light, you start to see the glimmers of the lights from those people.
- 8:08And you use those
- 8:12lights and you find your way back to yours and this
- 8:17entire situation um that we're all
- 8:19going through that we're all you know feeling you know the pressures from it's
- 8:25we definitely have um a good support system between all of us we actually have
- 8:34each other to fall back on we actually have that amongst us.
- 8:39And it's not so much telling each other, Hey, this is the way you're going to do things from here.
- 8:43This is just saying, Hey, listen, we all know we're going through some bad things right now.
- 8:48However, we all got each other's back.
- 8:52Yeah. And I think it's just important to realize that there's going to be bad
- 8:55days and there's going to be good days.
- 9:00But as long as you stay true to yourself and, you know,
- 9:07not necessarily in a way, but give
- 9:08back to that support system that is supporting you during the bad days.
- 9:13You'll find yourself having more good days than bad days because you reflect
- 9:19and you realize these people have already helped me come so far.
- 9:24And it's not even necessarily that they did the work.
- 9:27They just gave you the tools and you just reflected and learned from them.
- 9:31And it's just, it's just the most powerful thing to come to realization about
- 9:37is that you're truly not alone.
- 9:41Yeah. And that's the feeling I get just from this immediate nucleus that you
- 9:47and I have, you know, your mom.
- 9:51You know, it's, it does, it means a lot and it does,
- 9:55it lifts you up during those times because you say,
- 9:58yeah, even if you just have one bad day, but this has been a multitude of
- 10:01bad days multitude of bad months yeah and you
- 10:05know the bad luck continued to roll
- 10:08even up to now you know and we're slowly
- 10:11building ourselves out of that and i don't think we would have been able to
- 10:16do it either one of us individually if it wasn't for the fact that we were all
- 10:20together yeah exactly and you have further other people too you know that are coming into your life,
- 10:29you know, or already have been in your life and, you know, giving you that extra
- 10:33support that you need. Yeah.
- 10:34And it's, it's like amazing to me that in term, when you're,
- 10:41you feel so broken in moments and months and days, and then you learn from these
- 10:48people and then they, they start to heal you,
- 10:52help you heal yourself and you create this new version of yourself.
- 10:57And And, you know, a part of it is so scary because you don't want to change.
- 11:00But then you realize that you're just gaining these like cognitive skills and,
- 11:07you know, traits from these people.
- 11:11And they shift you into this person that you're like, wow, like,
- 11:14I never thought I could be here. Like, I never thought that I would be OK.
- 11:18And, you know, by any means, do I feel OK?
- 11:22I can say I'm I'm all right. You know, like if you would have asked me a couple
- 11:27days ago, weeks ago, I may have not been like, been able to be like,
- 11:31yeah, I'm okay. But now it just, it flows off my tongue.
- 11:35And I see myself becoming a more in tune person.
- 11:39And I didn't, I just thought like this was the end, you know,
- 11:44like, I don't know who I'm ever going to be anymore. I'm broken. I lost myself.
- 11:48And just to see the progress that I've made and the reflections of people who
- 11:55have been in my life and supporting me, it's emotional for me because I just,
- 11:59like I said, it just goes back to, I just never thought I'd be here. And...
- 12:05You see things from different perspectives and you find yourself reacting to things differently.
- 12:10And in turn, when you're like, I guess basically what I'm trying to say is,
- 12:14is that it's like when you're when you're at the worst broken version of yourself
- 12:18and you just start putting in the work and you have these people around you, this village.
- 12:25They mend you into the person that I think
- 12:28that the broken version of you needed
- 12:31to you know hug you
- 12:34and support you and in the
- 12:37back of your head you know like just give you those
- 12:40resources and everything that you needed so it's just you know amazing to see
- 12:45you know by all means do I am I am I still going through a lot absolutely do
- 12:51I cry a lot still absolutely but I know now that I will be okay.
- 12:59That's fantastic to hear because you also understand to, you know,
- 13:05what you and I do right here on this show.
- 13:09Um, and we have been for over, you know, past year and a half, almost two years.
- 13:14We help others, you know, and I've been waiting for so long for you to come back and sit next to me.
- 13:22And look, we're doing it now, but we're not doing it in our old studio.
- 13:26I mean, look around, we're in a whole nother place.
- 13:29I was thinking of changing it from Eye Opener Society to podcast in a bag because
- 13:33literally that's what it is.
- 13:34I carry a bag around and I got to pull everything out and set everything up to do a show.
- 13:40But you know what? We're doing it. And here we are doing it again now.
- 13:43It doesn't matter the location or the space. It just matters about the energy
- 13:48that we bring in and we pour out on the mic, you know, because it's coming from
- 13:53within. It's coming from our chakras. It's coming from our energies.
- 13:55And that's all that matters.
- 13:57Yeah. Because I'm speaking from the heart. I'm not speaking from a forum that
- 14:01I found online or I'm speaking from me.
- 14:04I'm speaking from my real life. And I'm not even getting into detail about my,
- 14:07like, you know, real life.
- 14:08It's just I was down in the fucking dumps.
- 14:11My life is literally turmoil. You know, but I and it took months for me,
- 14:16but I wanted to get on the mic and I wanted to like people to know that I was literally on the edge.
- 14:22My foot was leaning over and it was just constantly me, the wind pushing me
- 14:26back from just going off of the ledge. And.
- 14:30The wind, which is the support that I had around me, pushed me off that ledge.
- 14:35So I'm sitting on the ledge, but I'm not one foot off of the ledge anymore.
- 14:41That's a beautiful thing.
- 14:44I think we've all kind of been there in one form or another,
- 14:48whether it be less as intense, more as intense, but we've all lived through it.
- 14:54And again, I'm bringing the fact that the fact that you're on
- 14:58show today gives me hope because i
- 15:01know there's probably millions of people
- 15:04out there that need to hear from you
- 15:08yeah once things clear and we can talk more freely yes i think you are going
- 15:14to be probably one of the largest influences you know people can get we're not
- 15:20mainstream we're not reaching the entire world yet but the more people start
- 15:24spreading this and start understanding we're real people,
- 15:28real everyday people, just like you, you guys that are turning us on,
- 15:32you know, slapping on a pair of headphones and just listening to something to get you through the day.
- 15:36You're hearing from people that been through so much and especially Hannah.
- 15:41And I know it's going to open up the doors for bigger opportunities, not only for Hannah,
- 15:47but to our listening audience, because they're going to say,
- 15:49Hey, I've been there myself and look,
- 15:51they made it i can make it as well you know
- 15:54in the thick of healing um your
- 15:57door when you're going through stuff it it remains
- 16:00cracked but the most important thing that
- 16:03i think every day i wake up and remind myself is is
- 16:06that that door one day will be closed and it's
- 16:10just it goes centimeter by centimeter sometimes
- 16:13but that's okay because as long as i'm getting up every day
- 16:16and reminding myself that the door will be closed and then i just continue on
- 16:23you know and it's hard not to sit and like say everything um and i'm just not
- 16:30ready to do that yet i don't know when if i will ever be ready um.
- 16:35But if you would have asked me even maybe three weeks ago, I would have told
- 16:41you that there's a permanent wedge at the door and that it's going to forever remain cracked.
- 16:46But now I know that that wedge was the negative outweighing my positive.
- 16:53And it took me a while, but I just glimmered every day a little bit more positive
- 16:59in and more positive in. And I've removed that wedge.
- 17:04And it's up to me now to just make sure that every day I'm being patient and I'm closing that door,
- 17:13even if it's just a centimeter at each time until it's closed and I can truly move on. There you go.
- 17:20I can't thank you enough for coming in here and talking
- 17:24like this and bringing back the comfort that
- 17:27I've come to know being besides you and doing
- 17:29this show um things are
- 17:32changing rapidly every day yeah and we're always
- 17:35going down a new direction and it does
- 17:38it winds up becoming up to us to change
- 17:41and adapt to all these new changes and to make things ours again like you said
- 17:46yeah we're in a different place but that place is filled now with our energy
- 17:49and this is now going to be claimed as our place we can sit here and do a show
- 17:54you can get that raw emotion out again yeah and you're welcome to come on,
- 17:58anytime you feel like it.
- 18:00I mean, it's my show, so. Well, yeah, true. I guess there's that too.
- 18:05But I totally...
- 18:07Need to have you here. I think because the audience needs to hear these things.
- 18:13You guys will hear my voice popping in every once in a while. Very good. For sure.
- 18:18I appreciate that more than you know. And the audience does too.
- 18:22It's been a while. This has been a while since we've had a talk like this.
- 18:26And as we find, you know, those other opportunities where you can,
- 18:31you know, come in and spread your, you know, true, you know, raw emotions.
- 18:37Please do. I think we need to do that. So we also have a live show on Wednesday
- 18:43and each, twice a month that you could always call into as well.
- 18:46I'll disguise my voice. There you go.
- 18:50Yeah, there's definitely that. But Liz and Hannah, thank you.
- 18:53Thank you so much for doing this show and coming in here today.
- 18:57I really think this is going
- 18:59to mean a lot to a lot of people so don't forget everybody we have our live
- 19:03uh talk show and uh iopener society.podbean.com that's where you find the top
- 19:09of the page i have a link it says live talk show go there follow that link join
- 19:13us join us on wednesday nights twice a month uh you got to follow us on facebook too,
- 19:19iopener society i give information when we're going to do it i was
- 19:22going to do it every week but i think it's just too much we're all going
- 19:25through so much right now i think doing that every week would
- 19:28just cause a little too much anxiety for everybody
- 19:31involved so uh twice a month is going to
- 19:34be great and i'll let you know all the dates when they
- 19:37uh show up and uh i wish
- 19:40hannah well i you know hope that uh we have some more episodes like this and
- 19:45i can't wait till we get back into the full swing of things where hannah can
- 19:49actually start talking for sure you know the way she should be um without any
- 19:54kind of restrictions so everybody i thank you so much And I thank you,
- 19:57Hannah. All right. See ya.
